This is my first post here. I booked three internal flights today for £55 ($85) in the month of December! There's a sale on at Cebu Pacific but you have to book by August 26th for travel between 1st Oct and 31st Dec, international destinations as well as domestic. I have no connection with CPac, just a customer.

Also I noticed that Airphilexpress are very sneaky with their baggage charges. Free allowance is only 10kg and then 150P per kg on top of that!

Canonade: Any forum on the internet requires something: the contributors spend time and effort to post, update and prune useless info: so before coming in guns blazing, you should show some humility. Which you have done so. Comparing to a few other forums, you got away easy. I visit a forum where a few guys from certain countries 'demand' information, and instead of replying, either there is absolute silence, or the person goes into the 'ignore' list pretty fast. Or totally useless replies pop up.

Have fun mateI really admire your patience EconoTech, This is your 10th or so post advising newbies in PH in couple of months, that you go all over again, explaining the stuff that newbies are lazy enough to go back pages and read what you have said before many times over. You are really trying to be helpful here. However, how many times, we seen, the newbies soak all the info. Never giving it back.

Canonade. You made the same appeal from your past posts in Kiev and Thailand forum few days back and you were blasted away from there and you still did not learn and thought I would try my luck in PH forum and you did get blasted here as well but good members helped you out. Still, your arrogance and disrespect to other members is beyond newbie like. You are a brat. I don't think you are planning to come to PH, you just need some quick info to compare with other countries that you plan to visit on a weeks holiday and then make a decision. If, so then you should have really made an effort to know the country before asking for advice that has been said 1000 times before.

Keiv.

Nice post, and appreciate the information, as I am planning my first trip which will take place in October if my work schedule permits allows me to have time off.Thailand.

Hello,

If going to Thailand for a 2 week holiday for tourist things, as well as for the entertainment, what would be the best timeline for me if I want to see several different areas / cities, and what areas / cities would you recommend in this length of time period?

Thank you!
Hi Again,

I made a post yesterday about trying to get some help in developing an itinerary for a two week holiday. I am hoping the post does not get lost amid all the others that were made. I am coming to Thailand for tourist things, as well as for the entertainment, but would like some idea on what cities would be recommended for me to see during a two week period.

Itinerary help

Hi,

I am posting trying to get some help in developing an itinerary for a two week holiday in the Philippines. Actually my holiday is for a 4 week period, but two of those weeks I am hoping to spend in Thailand. I am coming to the Philippines for tourist things, as well as for the entertainment, but would like some idea on what cities would be recommended for me to see during a two week period.

Thank you for any help you can provide me in securing an itinerary.
I am sorry rodger but respect on a sex mongering forum is not something that is a priority in my life, and I see by the number of posts you have that it takes up a good share of your life, so go and carry one with your arrogant attitude, and I will continue to do my best to gain the information I am seeking so I can make an itinerary that will be best for my first trip to the Philippines.
Reading comprehension problem Hatboy? I clearly wrote that I will be in Thailand and the Philippines for a two week holiday in each country, and was seeking the same guidance in both countries to put an itinerary together that will allow me to get the most out of vacation, as this will be my first time entering Southeast Asia.

To the others such as Mr. Arrogant, and the self appointed moderator of the forum, I have read quite a bit of information here on the Philippine and Thailand boards, but it has not helped me put together an itinerary, as I would like to visit different areas. As I also clearly stated, my holiday is a holiday that will allow me to see tourist related things, as well as enjoy the entertainment.

Get off your high horses before you fall, and it will happen.
Not to insult anyone, as that has not been my intentions at all, but since this seems to be the way of life on this board, I also suggest you take a reading comprehension course, as I clearly stated my intentions were to visit tourist things, since it will be my first venture into Southeast Asia, AS WELL AS TO ENJOY THE ENTERTAINMENT / WOMEN. Hopefully by putting this part in capital letters you flamers with reading comprehension disorders will be able to understand, that my holiday is not just about visiting tourist areas, but a combination of enjoying the tourist type things, AS WELL as the beautiful girls. You see, the guys arrogant level changing in the Philippines forum, as he was not getting any troll feed in other threads and the guy had the audacity to say." respect on a sex mongering forum is not something that is a priority in my life" and still expects info from a sex mongering site. Are you for real. All his soft words seems to be just to get the info. Once he doesn't he shows his real nature. If he was really a good guy. He would say. Sorry I understand some of the negative comments as I have not contributed anything. But if someone would be kind enough to share info I would be grateful.

Seems like the boat has already sailed. No point in feeding the troll.

That you want to use. These include PAL, Cebu Pacific, Air Philippines, Sea Air, Zest Air. You should note that when you are making a booking thru their websites, they always show and allow you to choose the "Checked-In Baggage Fees". Which runs P150 for 15 kg, P250-280 for 20 kg, etc. Some of them will also charge you P90-250 for seat select. This is what you mean by unbundling. The airfares today are even less than 10 years ago.

For example: Manila. Kalibo roundtrip used to cost about P4, 500. P5, 500 pesos total. I just checked the September fare for all these airlines. The price ranges from P2, 500. P3, 900 total. And just an FYI, I am a Balikbayan, and not a newbie.

No dis-respect given. Just be aware that airlines are UN-BUNDLING their fees. All of them allow a Free Carry-On bag of 7 kg limit.

Newbie and selfish newbie, so be it. I personally worry much more that someone asking for "details" may in fact be much more sinister than a newbie. I recommend that names, images, locations, details always be left somehow vague or hidden.

Back to newbie or semi-newbie behavior. If you see a gal you played with in the picture forum, posted by someone, don't type something asinine like,"hey, I know her, is that Ima Hore from Buttfk Bar on Rizal avenue?" Don't do it!

Short time rooms and VIP rooms. Don't put that on the Internet. One of my fav bars in the Cebu area was recently raided. Okay, I better stop. I'm getting depressed just typing this sht. X.

BM, I have been posting this info for some time, since a heated discussion on this forum suggesting that guys who do not glove up are certain to get the clap, because all pinay are diseased. It can be seen from my posts on this subject that these kind of statements are just not true.

I am a hard nosed physical scientist, with a pretty solid background in applied statistics. And I get really pissed off when governments create fear campaigns by deliberately mis-informing their constituencies. So I started to use my own experiences as a case study, to inject some real truth into the discussion. After every trip into SE Asia, where I sex women, I get a full set of tests done for all STIs. My doc now has this down to a standard procedure.

Unfortunately, you seem to have no understanding of statistics, risk, probability, likelihood. What I am doing is to put some reality into the discussion. And if I get a positive result from my next test, after my next trip, then I will post that too.

Thanks for reading my post.

G

I don't want to be judgemental, but what if.

A) the next time you get tested and it is positive?

B) if there is 1 chance over 1000, what will you do when you reach 999th time? Stop BB, go condom for the 1000th and then go back to BB from 1001 onwards?

Statistics are not working this way.

There is people never having a car accident in 5 years and there is people crashing their car 5 times in the same period. It does not mean the first one crashed 2. 5 times.

Hello CS, thanks for the comment. But rather than post the question to me, how about you do your own research into the numbers. Say for the countries that we frequent, such as Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia. Get the numbers of infections per 1000 population, FOR STI TRANSMITTED BY HETEROSEXUAL SEX. And preferably by non anal heterosexual sex.

And also get the infection rates for some of the developed countries, like USA, UK, Canada, Australia. And then post the comparisons here, in the form of a table, so that everyone can see. If I recall correctly, the most dangerous country among that lot, with the highest infection rate, and hence highest risk of HIV is the USA.

But don't believe me, do it for yourself. Just do the best that you can to get unbiased numbers. When you are collecting rates for HIV infection, just make sure that you do not include infections through homosexual activity, nor intravenous drug users. Only heterosexual sex.

Good luck, and I am anticipating some interesting numbers.

G

Are we meant to be impressed by your statistics? I would congratulate you but on what I'm not too sure. It rather like applauding the guy successfully playing Russian roulette knowing that the very next try he might blow his fucking brains out.

Have you read any good statistics lately on STD / HIV infection rates in developing countries?

(smile) I was merely pointing out that on Airphilexpress 20kg checked luggage will cost you 1, 500P, whereas on CPac it typically costs 280P. Quite a difference. The free carry-on bag is great if you can get away with 17kg total (10kg checked + 7kg carry-on) but I'm flying halfway across the world for 5 weeks, so I need more than that.

I will be sure to keep to the limits, Sammon, thanks for the heads-up.

I know that there is some nasty shit out there and with the emergence of antibiotic-resistant strains, its getting nastier by the day. It is my personal opinion that anyone who is cognizant of the risks but still insistent on uncovered sex with prostitutes is borderline insane and a danger to themselves and others.

Gangles
08-26-12, 07:23
And that is the issue, exactly. What are the risks? If you engage in unprotected sex, what is the risk of death? What is the risk of catching a disease that is curable with a couple of pills?

Is it 1:100, 1:1, 000, 000, 1:100, 000, 000. Unless you know this, you cannot make an informed judgement as to whether to take the risk.

Everybody takes risks every day, but they accept the risk and get on with life. The most dangerous place for any western person is in their kitchen. The kitchen carries a relatively high risk of death or injury. But people accept the risk.

If you did the research that I suggested, and you found that the risk of death through driving a car was higher than the risk of death through HIV infection, would you stop driving your car? I would guess your answer would be no. That is, you accept the risk of death through driving. And you know that thousands of people die in vehicle accidents every year on the roads.

So if the risk of death through HIV is lower than the risk of death through driving, why would you still insist on condoms? The reason why is that you have been fed a lot of propaganda created by governments to frighten people into a particular form of behaviour. You said it yourself. Anyone who is cognizant of the risks.

When I post the figures, I am providing you with some hard evidence by which you can make your own assessments of the risk. This is true, hard, field data. It is very hard to get this from government sources, because they do not want you to know. Another research project you could do is to go back through every photo posted on ISG that shows male penis in or close to female vagina or anus. Count all photos, and also count the number of photos in which the penis is bareback. That would give you some indication of the degree of risk assumed by the ISG community as a whole. If you do this, please publish the numbers. It would be a very interesting research project.

For example, the Australian government annually publishes figures for new HIV infections per year in Australia. It is usually about 1100. Sounds pretty frightening. But if you can drill down through the numbers, when the number of infections from homosexual sex is deducted, then the numbers of infections through intravenous drug use are deducted, it drops to 5. That is, about 5 persons per year are infected with HIV from heterosexual sex. There are roughly 120, 000, 000 heterosexual acts in Australia between couples of sexually active age in Australia. So the risk of contracting HIV through heterosexual sex is about 5:120, 000, 000, or about 1 in 24, 000, 000 f*cks.

That is a very low risk. If that level of risk is intolerable to you, then you would never get out of bed, never drive your car, never go into your kitchen. And remember that is the rate of HIV infection, not the rate of death through HIV. But our government implements a dishonest fear campaign to stop all persons from sex without a condom.

My doctor says to me that he is OK to sex his wife without a condom because he is married. I remind him that about 50% of married women have sex outside marriage in Australia, so there is a likelihood that your wife may contract a disease that way. He knows that I am right, so we start talking about something else.

What do you think?

Happy mongering,

G.

I'm posting this here since I don't know which forum is appropriate.

So I was on FilipinoCupid, and found a real hottie on there. In my experience, these hotties are usually fake profiles.

However, I hit her up anyway and asked if she'd be up for a one night stand. She gave me her Facebook info. And told me to add her, which I did. We chatted for a bit on Facebook, and then she asked if I have Skype. So we started Skyping.

Eventually, she gets really dirty and says she wants to masturbate. I tell her to go ahead, and she turns on her cam, and surprisingly, it's the same girl from the photos! Or at least, someone who looks just about the same. Same fine body with nice tits and all. So she starts masturbating and I'm thinking "is this for real?"

Eventually she stops and asks me to pull out my dick. I tell her no, that I'll show it to her in person. She was so insistent on seeing it and wouldn't let it go. Eventually after about 30 minutes, she let it go, and said she'd still meet me in person.

Now. What's the deal here? Was she waiting to get a screen shot and try to blackmail me? Anyone know of anything like this? Is it possible her masturbation was a pre-recorded video she was feeding to me through Skype?

Hmm.

Has she got your real name? Are you married and she know it and how to contact your wife? Really don't see how she can blackmail you.

Hmm.Never ever get naked on cam for a girl you haven't met in person. Scammer sites on occasion get firsthand reports from gents who are being blackmailed. You have cam-sex with her, and she suddenly wants $500 / month to not show the video of you to your FB friends or wife. Cam sex can be fun, but only amongst friends (you don't have any friends among your chatmates whom you haven't fucked-and-photo'd yourself). If only one guy a year writes into those sites to tell his story, bunches of other guys are too afraid to tell their similar story. Meet her and have fun, but don't show your face / dick on cam at the same time.

Hey guys,

I've to the Philippines several times but I usually fly with major airlines. On my next trip over, I'll be going on a little mini trip while in the Philippines and was wondering if any of you guys have had positive or negative experiences with Cebu Air, Jetstar and SeAir Airlines? Any and all experiences and info will be helpful and greatly appreciated!

Thanks again!

Thanks again!I have no problems recomending Ceby Pacific Airlines (major LCC airline in the phillipines). Relatively new fleet with Airbuses (A319 and A320). And some ATR42/72 for short domestic flights. I flew with them from Kuala Lumpur to Manila and from Manila to Bangkok without any hazzle whatsoever. It is also cheap and my flights were also on time (both departures and arrivals). In my mind this airline is better than many major airlines I have flown with. NB! If you have rather long legs you can early in your online bookingprocess by yourself a seat by the emergency exits. That is cheap and you have nice space for your feet.

So thumbs up for Cebu Pacific. No I am not involved in the company whatsoever.

Depends who you speak is the short answer. I have flown all three you mentioned as well as PAL and AirPhil Express. I tend to use Cebu Pac as I like it (others hate it). SEAir is OK also and has recently been acquired by Tiger (I think?). Well 40% shareholding.

I find Jetstar has slightly more roomy and comfortable seats big guys like me but YMMV.

And it depends on your destination and times you want to fly the budget airlines. Watch out for baggage charges also and excess at the airport. It all adds up if you don't pay attention when booking

Thanks again! If I have to rank them:

1. JETSTAR. Quantas budget airline and with AIRASIA probably the best budget airline in asia if not the world. Roomier, much more on time then the other 2 (by FAR) , and good planes and service.

2. Cebu Pac. Usually ok but boy when the fuck things up nothing can fix it. I have had my luggage lost, being put on a plane that lended in a different airport then they expected me to seat in a packed bus for hour and a half to get to my destination. They gave me free flights to compensate but thats not the point. Out of around 30 flights with them I would say 20% have had delays or been somewhat problematic.

3. SEAIR. Code sharing with Tiger. They once changed my flight from 8am to 5am and didn't notify me. I had conecting flights to europe and had a bad feeling the day before so after getting to my room I checked the tiger website and freaked out when I saw my flight was not on it. On the end the hotel staff figured it out once the spoke to the airport and I had 3 people helping me pack to catch the flight. They also have small shitty planes compared to the other 2.

In my experience if Jetstar screw up they give you vouchers for more Jetstar. This can backfire. Haha. At least they try. Go on Facebook and look at some of the complaints from both foreigners and Philippinos for Cebu Pathetic. I will admit I over reacted with my own complaint. (Typhoon was enough of a reason but I did get shafted by both my insurance company and my employer on that one.)

I don't think I will bother with CP again though. Their staff are rude bitches and the company doesn't discipline them.

Another good low cost carrier IMHO is peach airline. But they are Japan based. Only good experiences with them so far.

Does anybody know how cheap some beachfront land is in the Philippines? Preferably with in an hour of a city and has cell coverage, maybe 5-10 acres on or close to the beach. Need to know the cheapest price.

Thanks in Advance!

Thanks in Advance! You should rephrase your question and inquire into how expensive it is. Have you ever been to the Philippines? Most "beachfront" property isn't that nice and you are looking at a large chunk. Quality beachfront is not at all cheap.

1. First check it out on any of the Philippines advertising sites.

2. Next, prepare to get married to own it.

3. Third, find a good lawyer there.

4. Finally, make sure you have more common sense than money

Thanks in Advance!Philippines is made up with 7000 islands, how about you come here and work out which island you like, I live in Cebu and you can not find that size land that close to the city.

You also can not own more than 40% of the land, so good luck finding some one you can trust with the 60% they can own a gun and hire a hit, you will only ever own the 40%

I heard beach properties on the West side of Luzon, 10-15 miles North of Manilla, are still reasonable. I know a Pinoy who owns some beach properties there. He can point you to the right direction if you are interested. The guy lives in the US, vacationing at his beach home occasionally for the 18 YO girls. he said the girls are young, sexy. good-looking and very sweet.

Would be very nice to have a bar / whoorehouse on the beach, stocked with good liquours ans sexy, good-looking girls. Let me know when you have your bar up and running.

Let's do a tour of Philippines' beach towns some time.

There is a rule about the cost of things. On average the most expensive quality you can find will only be 6 times doubled more than the cheapest, unless you are using some special materials or special circumstances. I often kick myself because I could have bought land in Bali, Indonesia, close to the beach for about $5, 000 an acre just 8 years ago. I live in China and no one can really buy land here. Finding a Filipino wife would be fine and I am sure I can find one I can brainwash easy enough. I do have about a 90% success rate in talking my girlfriends into threesomes. The real question is how much one acre will cost me and is it possible to get it cheaper if I buy a bigger lot 5-10 acres. Which Island is irrelevant at this point until I know the costs and whether my idea is feasible.

Cost Rule Example: The cheapest ST in the world is about $5 and there are girls over $320 but not many.

5. 10. 20. 40. 80. 160. 320.

Thanks in Advance!Your words sound like a grand invite to scammers.

Well, I know a dozen properties, where will you send the cheque to?

In reality, unless you are on some investment program, my past knowledge shows, any beach front property gets 'taken' over under one or other violation. Which can range from engaging foreign architects, not accredited with the PRC. To destruction of natural resource. So the big guy in town can inherit the property for his own use.

Hatguy: did you know that getting work done in Philippines is not important, sounding sweet is more important. In that score Cebu Pac scores mightily. After all, it is FUN IN THE PHILPPINES

5. 10. 20. 40. 80. 160. 320.Then I have an answer for you: The most expensive apartments in Hong Kong cost about 30000 Euros per square meter. Since that is considered one of the most expensive places in the world, you should be able to find an apartment in the Philippines for 468.75 Euros per square meter. Now take another set of such wise rules and I am sure you can work out how much your land should be.

By the way: "six times doubled" is "two power six" which equals to 64.

When in Hong Kong I'm thinking of flying in a girl from Phils to spend some time with me. She was good fun when I met her in Angeles. For the cost of the airfare and food, I'm sure she can be good fun again.

As far as meeting them on Arrival at Hong Kong airport, does anyone have any tips?

I'll be arriving on a flight around the same time. So, I need a fail safe system that she can meet up with me.

I'm thinking of waiting for her at airport Meeting Point or perhaps at an Arrivals Lounge. Any suggestions?

Also, she will obviously be travelling on her Philippines passport, any issues that you might be aware of upon her arrival at HKG. Do they really check for available funds? She will have a prepaid return air tix.

Thoughts appreciated.

BDMe remembers this was discussed before. You should fret about getting her out of Philippines LOL.

The BI has been empowered to stop human traffickers like you. (that was in jest) and in the process, stop or try to stop everybody leaving. But, hey, it doesn't seem to be working well though.

For Singapore, I know, you need a LOA (grandiose name for an invite letter. Letter of Affidavit). For HK. No clue.

BDIf she looks cute, is under 30 all I can say is good luck with her gettting on a flight. The Immigration nazis will question her till she finds she has missed her flight.

Lots and lots of stories about this to be found in Philippines board. Oh and in HK airport there are two exits. They are helpfully labelled A and B. LOL. Arrange to meet at one of these. Assuming she gets on the plane.

Well known fugitives are able to leave with ease despite there being a huge bounty on them and lots of publicity. But a pinay with a return ticket and hotel booking is much tougher. (I know a girl with holiday package trip (ie ticket and hotel pre paid in advance) turned away and she was 31 years old!)

I have been to HK with a pinay twice (and came back LOL) but despite her being a seasoned overseas traveller she was still asked really annoying questions.

Who knows the future with you getting older and the guys in her work environment start flirting and looking good.

I married a filipina from bicol long ago and brought her to the USA and the marriage failed within 8 years. I know personally of 3 guys who married filipinas and they ended in divorce after 3 years of marriage.

Several lawyers have told me that filipinas are the most ruthless about money in divorce cases.

Oh! I still like filipinas. They are more open minded / flexible in relationship with an older man. But I won't marry anymore at my age. No more taking chances. LOL

When we married, we signed a prenup (to protect my kids) , and I made sure it is iron-clad enforceable. That is, I paid for her to have her own lawyer review the prenup and sign off on it. I make a comfortable living, but I have no doubt that my wife could easily find a much richer guy to replace me if money was her sole motivation. She is, however, very religious (Protestant) , and her father is a pastor, so marriage is very important to her. As for me, I have stopped my mongering ways, but I still love reading and participating in this forum, sort of a way to relive the "good ol' days." LOL.

Radical Guy; You have a mission! (insert smiley) The best advice I can offer is, if and when you find that special lady, retain a competent family law attorney in your area to advise you, prepare the prenup, and (very important) instruct you on its execution. In my practice, I have successfully challenged several prenups that were prepared by husbands who wanted to save a few bucks by using LegalZoom or some other do-it-yourself forms package. You can pay now or pay later. If you pay now, you can save big surprises later.

Reading the forum will reveal plenty of guys whom land and are happily in bed with a sweet pinay within a few ours of clearing customs. Plenty of strategies in the threads.

As for definition of free, you have to pay for food etc, so not really free. The generous money (P2000) you give the lady for a taxi home, which more than coves her jeepney (P8) and that nots payinf for sex? Sex is never free anywhere, but in Phils you can have a pretty good time for not a lot of $$

So you're going to meet them in a mall or on the street and you think you can even take them to Chow King? Most would slap you sooner or later. And like they're walking around by themselves? Geez. Then there are the working girls that troll the malls looking for Johns. They are few and far between although we have all encountered them. Spend time in the Phils, walk around and try to talk to them and then reassess. Most of the girls would be embarrassed and would not even respond because they're with their friends, sisters, cousins or classmates. Its a very Catholic and conservative country. Apparently you think that some will spend the night with you for the price of a meal. Some will although they are also few and far betwen.

The sad thing is that there are a ton of guys with this same fucked up attitude going to the Philippines. I have heard from so many girls that after having sex, the guy doesn't even give them taxi money. These low class losers actually think they are doing the girls a favor by screwing them.

Foreigners who walk around malls randomly chatting up filipinas are playing Russian roulette.

Security officers are just around every corner.

Just because a filipina smiles at you doesn't mean she is going to jump into bed with you. Just because a Filipino smiles at you doesn't mean he is a bakla or likes you either.

Filipinos / Filipinas are naturally friendly people. You might find out a few truths the hard way if you use random acts of trial and error.

I have never been to Philippines before. *I am American and 52. Regarding my appearance, I am tall, slim, athletic, white, blue eyes. A lot of people say I look like Drew Pinsky.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/16/DrDrew1SecondFilm.jpg

Now here's my question. If stay in the Philippines for a few weeks and wander around the streets, malls, stores, etc introducing myself to pretty, slim girls between the ages of 18 and 25, what are the chances that a few of them will have sex with me for free? I mean free besides the usual expense of a date. Paying for a meal, taxis, etcYou might get free sex and then you will pay big time, I not sure why you think a young girl will sex you for free since your older than her father? Who cares if your Tom cruse the girls you will meet are looking for a meal ticket and some families here will not be happy that old men are targeting their daughters for free sex.

Still post back how you go as saving that $20 might cost you $10, 000 or your life which seems like a bargain to me as you life sounds like it not worth much.

After your undoubted success please come to Saudi Arabia as lots of (rich) girls walk around the mall and love to be chatted up by westerners. Simple and easy and with your technique and looks you will clearly succeed.

You might want to try the Internet. I can't remember who, but one guy on here had a strategy that seemed to involve chatting with girls who lived in the provinces and then bringing them in for a few days. The only time I have been the the Philippines I was with a girl I was seeing, but I made sure to learn as much as possible from her and others I met. I rarely saw women at the shopping malls walking by themselves and you may want to be careful approaching women at the malls at your age because I noticed that many girls (college and high school aged) go to the malls after school and you probably don't want to be that guy trying to talk to a 16 year old kid. From what I heard from the girl's sister there are also some places where unless you approach the girl speaking Tagalog she will pretty much look through you because she is not a prostitute and speaking to you (a foreigner) will make her seem like one.

I found that on the overall the people were very kind and polite (which can often be mistaken for interest in you). The Philippines also struck me as the type of place where many women you talk to will give you a phone number just to be polite so you may be better served giving yours to them and knowing that the interested ones will call. From what I understand, in some of the beach towns it is a bit easier to meet and get a girlfriend for the night / week without breaking your wallet because they are in abundance and many not working but looking to eat out, go for drinks. If your goal is to meet regular women who are not pros then by all means talk to as many as you can but don't be overly presumptuous. It may also be helpful to adjust your age range. Many filipinas age pretty well and you may have better luck with a woman who is in her late 30s to early 40s. Another plus to adjusting your age range is that you will generally not be competing with mongers and guys in their age range for these women. I noticed that in the Philippines, like many Asian countries, the women seemed to have a peak age where many of the local men were no longer interested in them. I know a lot of men have these images in their mind of meeting young women, but many of those men focus on p4p venues. If you have to have a young girl then you may want to try the nicer night clubs or maybe befriending an older filipina and asking if she knows a nice girl in the age range you are looking for.

I would also recommend that you check your ego at the door. When I was staying in KL I met an older filipina who used to work as a prostitute and eventually opened a bar. She used to and encouraged all of her girls to tell the older white guys how much they wanted to have their babies because of the eyes, hair. And mainly because it seemed to be what a lot of the older white guys liked to hear. Granted I spent most of my time in a provincial town about an hour or two by bus from Manila, but I recall seeing very few foreigners and mixed babies. Even when I went with the girl to shopping malls in Manila and Quezon City there were not a bunch of half white kids running around. The girl I was with kept telling me which celebrities were half American, French. And after a while I started to wonder about her mindset. When I asked if she wanted half white kids she said not really. When I asked if her friends wanted half white kids she said not really. She also told me that even though the majority of celebrities are half Filipino, some people do not consider them real filipinos. I know this sounds like a diatribe but I spent about a while traveling SE Asia and when I go back the one thing I won't be looking forward to is the amount of white guys who think that they are God's greatest gift to the local women. Truth be told once you get away from prostitutes and women who think that as a foreigner you will improve their station in life, the value of your blue eyes and what not decreases drastically. I was outside of a Thai night club and saw a young white guy arguing with a freelancer about how because he is young, handsome (decent shape, large pointed nose, taller than many locals.) and white he should not have to pay anything. She laughed in his face, pointed at a young Thai guy (slim build, tight clothes, slightly feminine features and make-up on his face) and told the white kid that for Thai women that is handsome.

In preparation for a trip, I am hoping to get some guidance on cell phones. I've never been to PI.

I have an old iPhone 3G. Service on this old phone was disconnected a long time ago (when I upgraded to the 4) and so it's basically an iTouch right now.

I was wondering if I could bring this old iPhone to the Philippines and just pop out the SIM card, buy a new one when I arrive and have it work like a regular PI cell phone? Do I also need to get it "unlocked" at an electronics store? I'm not really sure what that means but in my preliminary research that seems necessary.

Is this the easiest way to go about things? I would strongly prefer avoiding the cost of a new phone, especially since I much prefer smartphones and typing on glass and that is an expensive purchase. What's the best way to repurpose my old iphone for use in PI? If this is the way to go then is there an equivalent in Angeles, Cebu and Manila to MBK in Bangkok. The go to place for cell phones in Thailand.

Many thanks!

To Unlock the Iphone. You can look on Youtube. There are many video's on "unlocking" a Iphone 3G. Following YouTube instructions You can do it yourself. I did. If you are not tech savvy. In Manila you can go to GreenHills shopping center. 2nd floor. There is a tech section (a Mini MBK). In Angeles. Go to Savers Mall. 2nd floor (a couple of booths). But there are places everywhere that can / will do it. It should be cheap. No more than $10 to $20 USD.

In the PI, Once "Unlocked". Buy a SIM card and a LOAD (prepaid cell time) and you good to go. Once you "Unlock" the Iphone 3G you can use it practically any where in the world. Thats why I kept mine. I think that SIM card will stay good as long as you use it once a year. So if you return within a year. You won't need to buy another. Just get a load and you off and running.

Locked phones are usually those provided by specific carriers under their package deals.

If you bought it from Apple then it shouldn't be locked.

I buy cheap brand new Nokia phones (850php) as gifts and as a second phone direct from a Nokia store and they are good to go as you walk out of the store.

IMongLast year I took my old iphone to the local mall in Manila and paid a kiosk worker 500 Peso to change my provider from AT&T, to Smart. It made life so much easier than my cheap Nokia. I hated texting on the Nokia, would take me forever to type a simple response to my lady friends. Before you check into a hotel, you can walk down the hallways and the iphone will show you the room with the strongest wifi signal.

If you have a Slingbox at home, you can easily watch all the NFL, MLB, ect from most malls or hotles. Have the phone guy also download some apps and music for you.

No, I don't get the big tipping either. Everybody needs a little pornogrphy once in a while, but it is free on the internet. Who the fuck pays for it nowadays? I sometimes visit MFC.

http://www.myfreecams.com/#

And chat with a couple of cute Filipinas there. HotWoniSy & Sh0ckbabe are two of my favorite Filipina girls on the site. In the beginning, I gave each of them small tips totaling less than $10 each in order to get their attention and establish YM contact. Over a year or so, I have had many private Yahoo Messenger chats with both girls and they seemed genuinely interested in hooking up, but once in Manila, meetings with the girls always fell through at the last minute for one lame reason or another. I have given up on it.

I see guys throw $10, $20, even $50 at these two little porn queens all the time just to see them play with their pussy's or dance around naked. It is crazy and a little sad. For the same money they could have a real Filipina girl rock their world all night long. All they have to do is get out of their rooms and get on a plane to the PI.

The biggest star on MFC is an American girl, AspenRae. This broad is famous. She now has her own web site and has been featured on Howard Stern twice. When she comes on cam, she gathers 300 or more viewers. Guys throw serious money at her. $20's, $50, $100's. She must make thousands $$$ per day with her pleasing personality, showing off her sexy body & masturbating for her audience. I must admit, I like watching her too, although I have never tipped her. Check her out WestCoast. She is pretty amazing.I have been chatting with hotwonisy also. She is cute. YM for a long time too. Talked about hooking up but I guess all lies. I wonder if anyone hook up with her in real life.

Enjoy life!I tried that back in January. They would not let her in. 24 hours in detention while I am outside waiting not knowing anything. She was sent back. They told her she is there to prostitute. Did not matter that she told them I am outside waiting. They said I am pimp. Next time I will travel with her together.

That is an interesting statement about the size of Korean mens' cocks. Because the measured average is 5. 5", a bit shorter than the average length of US white males at 6. 0". So not that much different. An average of 5. 5" means that there is a range of sizes from very short. Maybe 1", to long, maybe 9". Pretty much the same as US guys.

Also interesting is experiencing a large disco / bar in which almost all pinay are interested only in Koreans, and refuse to go with white guys. And the Koreans are mid 20's, healthy, good looking. Many of them are in school, or taking english language classes.

You are the certified (or maybe should be..lol) ISG king of the barmy stats. Would just love to see the learned published statistical survey from which you extracted this gem. Please post a link. I can just imagine the summarized justification offered by the lead scientist to obtain funding for his research project.

'Myself and my team of dedicated statisticians intend to travel to the four corners of the world in order to carry out a comparative study of erect penile members respective of colour, creed and social group. It is an important piece of work which is long overdue. It wil also be a lot of fun, particularly for the female and gay members of the team. We also intend to carry out a similar study of the length and depth of female vagina's, which will be carried out simultaneously by the hetero members of the team'.

The manufacturers of condoms are very interested in penis size by target market. This is a huge industry, with large amounts of money at stake.

No point in stocking condom sizes that are too large, or too small, for the local market. They will not sell. So they carry out surveys, and they measure, and they tabulate and average, both length and girth. I would have to dig back into my files to haul out the companies which have published the results.

As an example, if we could measure the height, weight, and waist size of all of the members of ISG, we could do some statistical analysis. First, aveerage height, is the total of all heights, divided by the number of men in the sample. Same for average weight and average waist.

Next, we break the sample into bands of height, for example 5'0" to 5'2"; 5'2" to 5'4"; 5'4" to 5'6"; etc, to 6'8" to 6'10". Then count the number of men that fall into each range. And them plot these into a histogram. It will make a kind of bell shaped curve. Most measurements clustered about the average, and very few at the extremes. Do the same for weight and waist size. Then calculate a number called the standard deviation, which indicates how closely the measurements are clustered around the average.

Then divide the sample into men from the various countries represented in ISG. And repeat the exercise. This will then give you averages by race. Then divide the members by nationality, and repeat. Now, given that we have gotten all of the members together, and we can physically see the entire sample. It is now possible, given that we have averages and standard deviations, to reconstruct the entire sample with just a few numbers. But keep in mind that some are short, or very short. Maybe dwarfs, and some are very tall.

By the time you have done this, you will have a pretty good understanding of the comparative physical measurements of people around the world. Or at least those belonging to ISG. But this is not a truly representative sample, because it is biassed, due to affluence, sexuality, libido, and others.

Now, assume that the survey of ISG members includes penis length and girth while slack, and length and girth when erect. And repeat the analyses. This will give you some data to use. But there are now other biases, because it is unlikely that there will be members with very short, or very thin penises, purely because of the nature of the forum. But the numbers for average and standard deviation for each sample enable us to fairly closely reconstruct the entire sample.

So the condom companies do the same. There are also some studies conducted by sociological type organisations and research agencies. One of those mentiones was the Kinsey foundation.

So when the published number says that average penis length for country X is 5. 5", we know that this will include a range from almost zero, to whatever the maximum is, say 10". And this will be the same in any country, and every country.

Also, keep in mind that nutrition plays a big part in size, and as poorer countries eat better, they grow taller, and bigger. So all of these averages will change over time. So the condom manufacturers need to keep track of this too.

Have I driven you to tears / boredom?

You are the certified (or maybe should be. LOL) ISG king of the barmy stats.

For the edification of yourself and all other harmless nutters on ISG, did you know that they have finally found the fabled trouser snake, alive and well and living in South America? They have yet to measure it!

Unless you plan on getting her injured. Or hoping her to get sick. I guess not.

I don't know the medical costs in HK. But, at a minor amount, Travel Insurance does go a long way, like in the case of a girl I invited to Singapore, who's Wisdom tooth decided to act up and it had become festered. Seems she had been keeping quite. And it cost me just over 400 S$ to fix it. Before asking her to suck me.

And another, a friend invited a girl, and she decided it was great to get drunk and roll down a flight of stairs. Just over 300 $ to fix.

I don't know how far Travel insurance covers the above, but. Be safe. You never know what the girl is NOT telling you. (like appendicitis on the way. For example.) Cool, thanks for this. I found a website where they appear to sell travel insurance for Filipina for about USD20 for 4 days. For that amount I might just do it and avoid the worries of her getting run over etc in Hong Kong. For the price of the airfare, it is almost just as cheap to put her on the next flight back to Pi.

Red Kilt has done an excellent job of following my ramblings. As an update I decided to swing by Manila and pick her up. I can get in and out for not too much $$ and this will make sure she get through on both counts hopefully.

My concern now is trying not to seem like an ATM. I'm thinking of giving her a daily stipend to cover her foods and travels, plus a nice tip at the end to go home. To the tip or from the tip I'll deduct any additional expenses.

You are correct RK but am not sure if you can that type as insurance for late flights etc, for flights that are cancelled is available but insurance because Philippine iimgration just refuse her on some spurious reasons. Think notInsurance in general would cover in the event of serious illness before the flight, accidents, medical / dental emergencies, flight delays, lost baggage. Etc.

Immigration and Customs issues will not be covered unfortunately. Nice try tho by the person that started it. LOL

Maybe I'm over engineering this. From my personal experience from Manila airport, when a girl was delayed for so long as to miss her a departure, or rejected by the passport control they obtained a stamp from the officer concerned, on there boarding pass, which either allowed for a refund or a re-issue of ticket so I was informed by my partner.

As for other portion (ie the return leg of the ticket) , that is lost to a degree (maybe 50% or more depending on who the carrier is) as LCC don't allow change of date unless there is a penalty as ET says

Hi guys.

I have been traveling / mongering around the Caribbean and South America for many years. I have recently moved to the West Coast and want to make a foray into SE Asia again after many years.

So here's the story: I need to get 3 implants with crowns. The dentists here in the US are out of their minds and want $30, 000. I have done some research and I have read that Thailand medicine is excellent and 1/3 the price (if not less). I actually have contacts there and it would be easy to do. However, I think I'd rather go to PI if I can make this into (sort of) a vacation also. I have contacts there too. Plus, tickets from LA to MNL in March are hovering at $850 R/T. Not bad....

Does anyone have experience getting major dental work done there? Are their skills and sanitary conditions up to par? I'd be interested in what you have to say.

Thanks

Excellent work if you go to the higher end clinics, and very inexpensive. The thing to watch out for is that the post and crown hardware are of a common type for the US. Your dentist in the US can advise. You don't want to be stuck with something that cannot be adjusted / fixed down the road in the US. This was an issue in PRC, IDK about Phils. Worth a check though.

The work was excellent, and probably cost about 10-15% of what I would have paid in the states. All of my work has been done in Davao. It's somewhat strange here that the standard of medical care is quite low, and I wouldn't trust a local doctor with anything more serious than a cold, but the standard of dentistry seems to be quite high. If you need some names in Davao I'd be happy to help.

All of my family come here to get all manner of work completed.

GE has agreed with his experience being Davao.

One place in Manila that I can recommend is the Clinica Manila Dental Service inside Clinica Manila on the 2nd floor of SM Megamall Building A in Ortigas Center.

Go there and get an assessment and a price quote.

Most of the dentistas are younger women, and they have a much softer "touch" than the male dentists that I remember.

I just walk in every 6 months for a clean and de-scale, and always a place for me. Rarely do I need to wait.

In my opinion, the best place to get dental work done is at the Chiang Mai dental hospital. In Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Everything is done on site, so crowns are made overnight and are ready next day.

Price is very low, and the standard of work is excellent.

Phone them and ask for a price.

However, keep in mind that implants require long periods between each phase, so that gums can heal etc. So wherever you get implants done, you will need to revisit over a period of time.

if you are on a budget you can stay at the Pacific Breeze Hotel. At USD 50+ per night PB is not really considered "budget". There are many good budget ho-tels in AC with all basic amenities such as aircon, cable and hot shower right around the PHP 1000 mark. PB is very good value though, nice pool and good location just next to Santos.

Funny thing as I just had a root canal. Talked to the dentist about dentistry in Asia. He had a daughter who did MD internship for 3 months in Thailand. According to him the Dr's. are fine. The problem is the other part. Not as clean and sanitary as you get in USA. Equipment is not as up to date as it is expensive. Also for dentistry, as I have had work done in AC, the doctors are fine. Again though, the drill was the old fashion belt drive. If you need crowns I would look at the equipment they are using. I am sure they can do it, but don't know if I want that old grinder in there spinning around. Your decision. Both times they were women dentists with one having a male dentist guy also . Appointments were very easy and almost immediate service. There is a dentist on Fields near Kokomos and one in the SM mall near Hypermart.

Best of luck on what ever you decide.

Thanks for the suggestions. Here's a website with a pretty good list of clinics in the PI. They have lots of reviews by past patients for each office also. http://www.whatclinic.com/dentists/philippines/

From what I'm reading, Thailand is considered the best place to go overall but the PI is fine also. I remember when I was a kid my mother would fly back to Europe to have any major work done. She could get the work done, plus cover her expenses for less than half of what it would cost to have it done here in the US.

Let's face it. Just because its expensive doesn't mean its good. Remember the old adage,"What do you call the guy who graduates last in his medical / dental school. The one who barely skates through?" Answer: Doctor

ThanksAbout a year ago, I had extensive dental work done in Davao City by Dr. Ma. Veronica Kimpo-Falcon, at "Tooth Friendly Dental Clinic." Their website is: http://www.davaodentist.com

Although I didn't have any implants done, I was extremely pleased with the work and professionality at that clinic. Dr. Kimpo-Falcon spend several hours with me doing crowns, root canals, and a bunch of fillings. She told me that her husband / partner specializes in implants. The cost was about 10% what it would have been in the US.

after having been told my danglies looked like an elderly rastafarian i decided to take the plunge and buy some of this as previous shaving attempts had only been mildly successful and i nearly put my back out trying to reach the more difficult bits. being a bit of a romantic i thought i would do the deed on the missus's birthday as a bit of a treat.

i ordered it well in advance and working in the north sea i considered myself a bit above some of the characters writing the previous reviews and wrote them off as soft office types. oh my fellow sufferers how wrong i was. i waited until the other half was tucked up in bed and after giving some vague hints about a special surprise i went down to the bathroom. initially all went well and i applied the gel and stood waiting for something to happen. i didn't have long to wait.

at first there was a gentle warmth which in a matter of seconds was replaced by an intense burning and a feeling i can only describe as like being given a barbed wire wedgie by two people intent on hitting the ceiling with my head. religion hadn't featured much in my life until that night but i suddenly became willing to convert to any religion to stop the violent burning around the turd tunnel and what seemed like the destruction of the meat and two veg. struggling to not bite through my bottom lip i tried to wash the gel of in the sink and only succeeded in blocking the plughole with a mat of hair. through the haze of tears i struggled out of the bathroom across the hall into the kitchen by this time walking was not really possible and i crawled the final yard to the fridge in the hope of some form of cold relief. i yanked the freezer drawer out and found a tub of ice cream, tore the lid of and positioned it under me. the relief was fantastic but only temporary as it melted fairly quickly and the fiery stabbing soon returned.

due to the shape of the ice cream tub i hadn't managed to give the starfish any treatment and i groped around in the drawer for something else as i was sure my vision was going to fail fairly soon. i grabbed a bag of what i later found out was frozen sprouts and tore it open trying to be quiet as i did so. i took a handful of them and tried in vain to clench some between the cheeks of my arse. this was not doing the trick as some of the gel had found it's way up the chutney channel and it felt like the space shuttle was running it's engines behind me.

this was probably and hopefully the only time in my life i was going to wish there was a gay snowman in the kitchen which should give you some idea of the depths i was willing to sink to in order to ease the pain. the only solution my pain crazed mind could come up with was to gently ease one of the sprouts where no veg had gone before.

unfortunately, alerted by the strange grunts coming from the kitchen the other half chose that moment to come and investigate and was greeted by the sight of me, arse in the air, strawberry ice cream dripping from my bell end pushing a sprout up my arse while muttering." ooooh that feels good ". understandably this was a shock to her and she let out a scream and as i hadn't heard her come in it caused an involuntary spasm of shock in myself which resulted in the sprout being ejected at quite some speed in her direction. i can understand that having a sprout farted against your leg at 11 at night in the kitchen probably wasn't the special surprise she was expecting and having to explain to the kids the next day what the strange hollow in the ice cream was didn't improve my status. so to sum it up veet removes hair, dignity and self respect.

Usually the destination immigration official ask how long is your stay and state the nature of the visit, then stamp stamp, have a good visit.

Unless it has changed the outbound transportation carrier is responsible for your paperwork to enter a country e. G. Visa, passport, and proof of transportation out of the country.

Even if the airlines agents missed the required documents, the destination immigration official does have the final authority.

Technically they can deport you without proof of outbound paperwork and not give you the option of purchasing an outbound ticket, ship you back on the next available flight with the same carrier from your previous destination. Statistically it's very doubtful but can happen if the immigration official does not like your persona.

Guess you have to balance the risks, but if it happens the whole trip can be wasted time and currency. I hate to see the airfare the carrier would charge on the deported flight back.

Clark twice some years ago and Cebu Pacific in both cases asked for a return and insisted on some travellers buy a return at the airport. It's a real PITA. As GLP says Its rarely a problem in Phils itself (I once had alot of problems at Laoag airport but at the three main int airports they never seem to ask. Sadly that's not a huge help if they won't let you on the plane in BKK.

When I flew Cebu Pacific from Bangkok to Manila in July, I was aware of the airlines requirement for an outbound ticket. So I did what I always do. I made my own! Using an old Air Asia pdf ticket and 5 minutes work with Acrobat Pro and voila, new outward ticket. Previously this had worked a treat with the e-ticket receiving no more than a cursory glance to check dates etc before being handed back to me. But this time was different. She seemed to be checking something on her computer and at one point referred to her supervisor. I was seriously beginning to sweat, thinking that she had access to Air Asia's database and was able to ascertain that the ticket was fraudulent.

After what can have been no more than a minute but seemed like an hour, she handed the ticket back to me and wished me a pleasant flight. Whooo! Relief. I dashed off to change my underwear.

In future I might save myself the hassle by buying a cheap outbound ticket. But before that I'd be interested to know whether there is an all airline database where one airline can check reservation details of another airline. If so, they are getting too clever, by half.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_reservations_system

(global distribution systems) Wrong. Once a reservation is made in a GDS, the reservation can only be retrieved by the airline and the agent who made the reservation, if it is a legacy carrier.

And for legacy carriers, once the airline makes any amendments, the PNR is locked by the airline, the GDS cannot see the changes anymore.

And for LCCs, while they list on the GDS, they use their host, and not a given that all PNRs are visible across the board, and remember that there are many GDS out there, so any reservation on 1A will not always be visible in 1S and so on.

Add to it, those LCCs listing their inventory on GDS do so only for listing and avail, nothing more. All booking details are updated on their own host.

I know, I work for a GDS.

Last time I flew to Australia on PAL they also knew that I was connecting to Virgin for all my domestic travel.

I don't think it is limited only to those in a strategic group alignment.

Systems like Amadeus are used by multiple airlines as well as travel agencies. They can follow you everywhere.

I think one reason why Phils is anxious about VISITORS showing that they have onward flights is because of the huge number of UNDOCUMENTED aliens living in the Philippines.

I have a friend in the NBI who is assigned to work with Immigration to try to track down these aliens without visas.

In one crackdown raid recently, they found 58 persons from South Asia living within a 3 km radius in a northern Luzon town who had arrived as tourists and had stayed. One of them had been here undocumented for 12 years. They were all off-loaded back to their home country.

The assumption is that having a return ticket means that you will use it to depart, but that is not always the case of course. Personally I don't think it is worth the risk. I would rather have a return ticket that can be changed if my departure dates need to be varied. Not worth the risk to have some negative notation put on your database entry that can be accessed by immigration anywhere in the world.

Not correct Sammon.

Last time I flew to Australia on PAL they also knew that I was connecting to Virgin for all my domestic travel. If you interline, it shows up. Not otherwise.

Systems like Amadeus are used by multiple airlines as well as travel agencies. They can follow you everywhere.No. Not when it involves multiple HOSTS.

An ITIN is NOT A TICKET.

Now, if the Philippines immigration wants to ensure people are not messing their reservation, there are other ways, like Singapore immigration does. And claiming to be able to access all GDS is NOT one of them.

Ah, well, those caught, as per your friend in NBI, firstly would have been paying off the right people. For a start. So as long as such stuff exist, no can do.

That's my 2 cents.

Only one time I had this problem was I had booked a ticket to manila on cathay pacific because they had a sale. I saved almost $400 by doing this instead of flying to Hk. I had business in China and usually fly to Hk and into China. Ofcourse I always make a trip to Phi.

I stayed few days in manila with my gf and booked a cheap ticket on cebu pacific. On my return trip to Manila cebu pacific wanted proof of my ticket out of Phi. I told them I have booked on cathay pacific. They told me they have no means to check because they have no relations with cathay. Ultimately I had to go cathay pacific counter and the counter girl printed out my ticket which I showed to cebu pacific and was allowed to fly.

My info is based on this experience.

That's interesting. In the couple of times I have managed to get through I've told them a specific no Cebu Pacific flight out with an airline. I didn't go to the trouble of faking a ticket, all they seem to want is a flight number to put on their system. What I wasnt sure was whether the system has tightened up further. The issue is that for those of us flying around on budget airlines such as Cebu Pacific, if you have to book a return ticket you know you will not use it de facto doubles the price of the ticket. It is very frustrating as cebu pacific know damn well there is no real problem for westerners when one actually gets to phils but they have a strict company policy. To avoid confusion this seems to be a problem specific to flying into the Phils on a oneway ticket from Thailand, though WR has indicated that it is also no an issue on Emirates flying from Dubai.

I don't think it is limited only to those in a strategic group alignment.

I think one reason why Phils is anxious about VISITORS showing that they have onward flights is because of the huge number of UNDOCUMENTED aliens living in the Philippines.

Has anyone tried the Tiger airlines flight on the BKK. Clark route? And know whether they have the same return flight hassles as Cebu Pacific?

In response to earlier comments, I'm 99% sure airline check in staff don't have access to other airlines passenger lists (They may have limited access to those of

Other airlines within an international grouping such as One World, Star Alliance etc, even if they share the same reservation system.) Therefore, if you plan on "faking it" I think choose an onward flight on an airline without an office at your outward airport.

The check in staff at least Cebu Pacific are supposed to satisfy themselves that you have an onward / return flight and enter a flight number / date into their system.

Whether they accept your word that you are on a particular onward flight or require documentary proof / checks with the relevant airline is I think a matter for their discretion.

In my experience, they are satisfied as long as they have something to write in the box for onward ticket but as WR says rules seem to be tightening all the time.

And Atleast one Immigration in the region has started to scan the return ticket and are trained to identify the difference between the itinerary and actual ticket

Even then, they can't validate the ticket, unless they call the airline. So they just make sure when the person goes for a extension of visa or when they depart, they check if the ticket numbers match, and if they don't match, they either refuse the extension. Or note the passport, and when the person returns, he / she gets a denied entry.

Singapore is a bit different as a lot of people come here (read. Women) using the ASEAN visa privilege. To make $$$$$$$$$

I have said before that there are some high magnitude negatives balanced by many medium level positives and the pluses win, which is why I stay here (I am not that masochistic LOL)

A major positive is that I have employment here in Philippines with additional opportunities to work for short times in Cambodia, Laos and Mongolia in the past few years that give me some refreshment. Trips back to Australia also boosts my mood.

Like when I went to arrange a visa to Philippines, the requirement stated "FLIGHT TICKET"

I did my own booking. NOT TICKETED. Those in travel will know booking is not complete until ticketed. And the embassy girl looked for departure dates and return dates and said "ALL OK". Now if she really did have access to all the GDS, All the airlines, she would have been surprised to find that the booking doesn't exist.

You can book, print an Itin and then cancel the booking.

For those regarding tickets etc.

At Dubai airport they did not ask me but. Arriving in Manila there is a new system with non pinoys going to different counters (it seems slightly more efficient for NAIA. But not when compared with Singapore, HK etc). Although the pinoy counters had long queues so some joined the non pinoy queues (and some were asked to go back to the right queue!)

The counter staff who were dealing with my passport (and everyone elses) are new (possible trainees as there was always a more senior persons behind them watching)

They asked many for a hard copy the return ticket. So if they don't get you one way (at departure) they will the other. The newbie immigration staff apeared to be asking more questions of each traveller, and it took longer to get through passport control (ie the time per person was longer than normal IMHO and guesstimate).

A Chinese guy was deported recently because he tried to bribe an immigration official (news report)

There was another recent news article about the Commissioner setting up CCTVs on every entry / exit point to ensure all transactions were properly carried out. The crack-down has occurred because of the illegal departure of the two brothers from Palawan wanted on murder charges who were, apparently, spirited past immigration through a side door by corrupt immigration officers who were paid serious money to do it (millions of pesos). The officials have since lost their jobs.

I stand by my comment "you can still buy your way around just about anything here" It appears to me that most things in this country revolve around money, and a small amount of money fixes more problems here than anyplace I've ever been. I had a friend who was late getting his visa extension, no problem just pay a 1000p penalty and all is well. The list of examples like that goes on and on.

Do you know of anybody who was denied entry solely because they didn't have an onward ticket, without first getting an opportunity to buy a ticket?

I didn't go back and look but I seem to remember reports of people that didn't have onward tickets being required to pay for a first extension at a higher than normal price before being allowed entry, and they did not have to buy a ticket. Just pay the money.

I enjoy disagreeing with RK, but in this case I have to bite the bullet. Punter, your original post hints at bribing an immigration agent. No, no, no. Your post below suggests something very different and I respect that you took the time to make a clarification. You have to remember that newcomers here may take adivice literally. RK, bless his naughty soul, was right to call you out on this.

Buying your way out of trouble or inconvenience is NOT a good choice, IMHO. Avoid trouble in the first place.

So GL et al seems you will need to show something even if not a real ticketThat's a serious pain. I know it's not a huge amount to buy a onward ticket but I would rather not waste $70 completely unnecessarily. Has anyone been through Clark recently and can confirm or deny similar treatment at Clark?

I agree with the posters who caution against trying to bribe ones way out of trouble in this type of situation or any other involving immigration.

The Phils has periodic anti corruption purges when such incidents get reported and then you can find yourself in serious trouble. A guy I knew from my last trip was expelled from the country with uncertainty as to return for trying to bribe someone rather than pay a visa extension fine.

Previously I have just about got away with just claiming a flight number. I have only actually had problems on the phils side when I tried to enter phils at Laoag where they only deal with flights from China. I then had an hours iinterrogation trying to convince the official that my BKK. London flight could be rerouted. After about an hour the guy just gave up and infact gave me a lift into town. I suspect that the downside risk is that one ends up having to buy the onward ticket that one was trying to avoid buying, perhaps at inflated price if there is no web access. For those thinking of "amending" an old e ticket you will probably need a program to edit PDF's to make a good job of it. The free Acrobat of Foxit PDF readers won't work. Foxit PDF Editor works well and you can eitherbuy it or download a pirated version from Pirate bay.

Gentlemen,

I am considering buying a lot, or block of land for a gf.

Has anyone here actually bought land in the Phils, and can advise as to the process or procedure to follow?

Thanks in anticipation,

GI have bought 2 lots, and 3 areas of rice fields.

Of these 5 transactions, around another 15 that we considered buying were discovered to have incorrect or illegal or forged titles. Quite often people sell land to someone else by a simple hand shake and they hand over the cash and the title without wishing to pay the legal fees etc to get the title properly transferred to the new owner. We found many of those instances, and one I recall had changed hands 3 times without any paperwork having taken place. My lawyer wouldn't touch them.

Step 1. Get yourself a very good property lawyer who will do the required searches. Once you are sure you have bona fide Titles, the rest is easy.

Not in the Phils but I do in China. What's IDK?

China seems to me to present certain hurdles with respect to the Phils, expensive hotels (HK for example) and English (not HK of course but elsewhere).

I am not going to tell my US dentist that I may get the work done elsewhere at a fraction of what he charges me AFTER insurance. LOL.

China or Phils what do you recommend?

Thanks

Check "top 20 schools in the Philippines" with google.

As to supporting a Pinay student that's actually a great idea to enjoy the benefits of her gratitude and perhaps to deal with a "better" grade of girls (educated, fewer stupid questions, some actual conversations, improved english) , but still do some discreet checking to verify that she is actually studying, registered etc. Unless of course you trust her unconditionally, which I did once. ThanksI had two crowns with posts done last year in China (CP) , and it worked out fine. The crowns had to be ordered and I think they came from HK, bu not sure. I had a choice of 4 different ones, and they varied on price and quality. The dentist I used spoke okay English and did a nice job and even did a whitening treatment for free. It was not "dirt cheap" but I have NO complaints about the quality of work.

It was much better than what I had done in Argentina, but there the work was in a public clinic and it was an extraction and replace a broken crown on a molar, they weren't concerned with appearance.

I've never had anything more than a cleaning in the Phils.

Hoping you come to your senses first. But since that never happens you should hire a reputable attorney and agent to do the groundwork for you. I wrote an extensive post on buying a condo here. Which you can search for as it'll give you some idea of what the process was like. If you PM me. I can recommend a law firm. Keep in mind that legal fees are peanuts here. And nothing compared to the total loss of your investment.

Of course CHED and everybody else knows that Silliman is the mainstay of Dumaguete in Western Visayas.

You obviously don't know about Silliman linking up with University of Dagupan (in Pangasinan, Luzon) to look at decentralising their programs.

Your reference to CHED and Math is just plain churlish. Are you insinuating that the order of the schools is somehow wrong?

I've lived here for several years and have recommended lots of friends and family to a local dental office. We've had root canals, crowns, cosmetic, cleaning. Children and adults. Excellent work. Family owned with 5 clinics. 2nd Floor, Cash and Carry Mall in Makati near the Cinema. Can't miss it. Recently a friend from the US came and had at least $5000. 00 USD worth of reconstructive dental work done for about p12000. 00 and a year later is still very pleased with the results.

It's very well financed by the city so the tuition is practically nothing. Check wiki for details. Students from outside NCR are admitted too, but they have to be at the top of their class.

RK, thanks for the advice. And to other commentators.

I understand your comments re titling, property transfer etc.

I have some understanding of the property system. It is supposed to be based on the Torrens Title system. My first degree is in surveying, so I know something about principles of ownership.

I have had a number of contracts working on the Phils Land titling system, and I managed a project to reconstruct the curriculum for surveyors (geodetic engineers) in the Phils tertiary system.

Plus I have had personal experience of the situation that RK noted, with transferr of ownership by hand shake, and no formal transfer to save on the transfer fees.

Similarly, we came across a business man who was paying rent to three "owners" who all presented apparently legal titles to the property.

I expect that the places that I am considering buying has never had formal title, and is based on customary title. I expect that this would involve sale / purchased by deed of sale. I would then go to the local court to raise totle for the lot. But it smacks of complexity.

However, I have asked the gf to find a local surveyor who should know how to carry out a title search. And also to engage a good, local lawyer to take care of the legals.

Very messy.

Thanks again,

G

That threw the issue of military non response (to the attack) back into the military and ergo administrative realm of responsibility. Petreaus refused to fall on his sword, so they (Obama's operatives) probably brought out their own daggers to get rid of him.

Everyone is well schooled on the exploits used by adversaries, and the honey trap is the oldest one in the book. At TS / SCI level it's reviewed every 5 years. No.

You cannot buy freehold land in your name.

You can only buy a condo in your own name exclusively, and then only if 60% or more of the owners are Filipino. Not entirely true. A foreign born national can buy a townhouse that has a 'condo certified townhouse' declaration. The townhouse can touch the ground. All of the condo certified townhouses I have seen are entirely within the grounds of a condo tower project. Some come with pools, garages, lawns, decks ect that are located entirely within the condo certified townhouse lot, and as such belong to the owner of the townhouse, be it a local or a foreigner. A foreign born national can own the townhouse outright 100percent without the need for a filipina-Filipino to be listed as the owner. These townhouse often demand a premium price and most are sold long before construction begins.

There exists no such declaration that 60percent of any condo tower or condo complex be owned by Filipino citizens, and that includes condo certified townhouses. The 60percent rule only comes into play when a corporation is formed to buy-transfer-rent actual land. Technically the land under a condo tower is owned by the developer, not individuals.

The foreign investment act of the Philippines RA 7042 and amended by act 8179 in 1996 deals with this topic. Within the next few months the foreign ownership rules will be updated (changed). No word if the Philippine Government plans to increase or relax the regulations.

It's possible when all is known that Petraeus won't look so brilliant after all. Considering how many general grade officers retire from the military it's significant that relatively few of these "proven" leaders go on to successful political careers. No one is asking for a hand out just a fair share of the increased revenue produced by increased productivity. In the economy of our fathers increases in productivity were evenly shared by both the owners and the workers. The increased revenue was reinvested in new capital which made the workers even more productive and higher wages for the more productive workers which allowed them to buy the products they produced. Today that increased revenue is just kept at the top. In the 1920s Henry Ford paid his workers an extravagant amount of money for that time. Within two years his profits doubled. The bases of profit is worker consumption, workers consume what they earn and owners earn what they consume. Workers who don't make much don't consume much; workers who earn more consume more. Money is the one thing that defies gravity, when money is put at the bottom it flows to the top. But on its way to the top it truly does lift all boats. Money does not trickle down, when money is placed at the top, there it stays and only benefits those at the top. Trickle down is zombie economics the walking dead, it's been disproven time and time again but yet as a theory it continues to walk, why because it benefits those at the top. Our economy has doubled in size since 1980 but when adjusted for inflation the income of the working class has remained flat. In the economy of our fathers some thirty to forty years ago the super wealthy received about 10% of the nation's income today they receive nearly 25% of the nation's income and own more than 40% of its wealth. The last time in our history when incomes and wealth were so skewed was 1928, 1929 I don't need to teach you what happened next. Consumption is the driving force behind the USA economy nearly three times larger than investment and government spending combined, (forget about net exports there negative and detraction from our GDP) however to maintain that consumption the working class need to receive their fair share of the nation's income and wealth. We have gone through a skewed income debt driven recession and slow recovery because the working class no longer have the purchasing power to maintain the economy at full employment.

Here ends the lesson, next week we will cover the new deal and Keynesian economics

Nobody's looking for a handout Mr. PhD JD? Come to my town to the other side of the tracks which is only a half mile from where I'm sitting. They don't have their hands out. They have their fists out either ready to knock you down and then stomp you or one fist wrapped around a 9 mil., which you are looking down the receiving end of. Tell them about your degrees and economics and the law when they are robbing, beating you and severely injuring and possibly killing you. The statment that nobody has their hand out is delusional. Are you from Hollywood? Nobody here is impressed with your degrees. Try educating those people about economics and the law and not us. As I pointed out before I use to have gf 1 2 3 back home so when I moved to Cebu I just did what I had done all my life, it just easier to have more here.

The pitfalls are nothing like samon posted, I love how guys who have never met me have strong opinions. Ones that come to mind are.

Theft, they steal from each other and from you, little things like soap and memory cards.

Drug use, too many girls who p4p have a drug habit, (hence the theft) that's why I avoid the lower class girls

Talking outside what you do, it rare but if I have a girl boast about having a foriegner to her friends I drop her.

Attitude, some girls are bipolar get rid of them, some think they can make more money same get rid of them.

What it not about is money, if you just think you can throw money arround to live like this then you will have more problems every day, pinay are moody and strange when it comes to money, that's why I give them a budget to stick to and they share with their family. I also have budgets what we do every month.

I live like this as I can not find a girl who will sex me 6 times a day, even my girls complain they are sore from sex every day and need days off, I had the same problem back home that why I had more than one gf and that is why I do anal sex. Some girls prefer the anal sex (and they are not fat look at the size of my hand on their butt). The freelancers I find I use condoms, the girls who live with me get check ups and tested.

The police visit where from expat neighbors making complaints, as you see here many people get jealous and when they see it and how happy my girls are it seems they want to get at me. I never paid the police to leave as I do not break the laws my girls are gfs, the freelancers get paid for their time some even get paid if I do not sex them. A ex gf tried to charge me for the photos I post but the police said they cannot see her face so they would not charge me.

The main thing is I do not lie, I rather girls leave me if I tell them how I feel. I kick girls out for lies so the others need to know I do not lie so they do not lie, that is the hardest thing to get from a pinay.

Sorry mods, is Tim Geither a member here? That's just my point, these neighborhoods of inequality and crime will continue to grow because the gains from productivity are not evenly shared amongst the working class. I to know these people I was a public defender before I accepted a tenured professor's position in economics. These people are reacting against a system they know is unfair has mistreated them and used them. They can't put it into words and they don't fully understand but they know the system has robbed them so they feel justified in striking back against anyone who is not of the same color as them or anyone who they perceive as having more than them. With the skewing of the gains of growth going almost exclusively to the top these neighborhoods of inequality and crime will continue to increase no matter how many laws you pass or how many of them you put in jail or execute, the problem will continue. The solution to this is a growing middle class not a shrinking middle class as we have today. The situation today is not just a skewed income debt driven recession and slow growth, but combined with this as Joseph Schumpeter called it we are experiencing creative destruction. Technology in manufacturing and the service industry has replaced many workers and the workers that are now needed especially in manufacturing will require a higher degree of education and training. As Jeffery Sachs has pointed out the solution to this is education for the 21st century, this is a long term solution but we must develop a vocational system that educates workers for the higher technical skills of the 21st century both in manufacturing and in the service industry, but especially in the manufacturing sector. No country can remain a first world country and lead the world if it is not also the 21st century manufacturing center. So we really have two issues before us. One that income and wealth have not been evenly shared with the middle class so they no longer have the purchasing power to maintain the economy at full employment but also a period of creative destruction where technology has replaces many menial labor low skill jobs. The solution is investment in a 21st century vocational education system, and a fairer distributions from the gains in productivity. Not everyone should go to college, not everyone wants to go to college. But everyone should have a skill.

(Ok enough of this highbrow BS, let's go back to discussion mongering, I'll be in the PI in January we can get together and discuss economics, life, politics and pussy over a beer)

Your Friend.

You seem to have mastered the art of keeping your many girlfriends happy with less problems. More power to you!

1. Drug use is not prevalent with non-bar girls. Heck, they do not even like to drink alcohol. If they do just one drink only. Many a time I have to push them to have one drink.

2. The girls always talk outside with their friends what she does, where she lives, living arrangement etc including her sex life. Phi people are very open in that.

Many a times you will not even come to know what she is saying to her friends.

3. Attitude problems are common to many girls especially if they are living with other girls. Jealousy for various reasons are common. One of my DIA girls with small boobs always got jealous with my other gf who had big ones.

She tried to wreck my relationship with her saying mean things behind her back ofcourse.

4. Whether you agree or not money is the all important factor in your set up. Have you ever seen a gf who sticks to her allotted budget. Only some wives budget.

5. It is true girls pussy gets sore often. That is why I tend not to keep a girl for more than few days. I am not much interested in Anal sex. I will do it if the request come from the girl but always with a condom.

6. Police visit is part of the process for your set up. There will be many jealous expats and locals who will try to harm you. Ofcourse as you admitted girls can become problematic bitches at times. Usually extra money shuts them up.

My comments in the Manila thread was directed at another guy who wants to imitate your set up in Manila.

I was just advising him what the likely problems will be and how to deal with them.

For the third time in about as many days, I've gotten replies from "19" year olds on the dating site that says she's 16. I remind them it's illegal, I've never seen the inside of a Philippine prison and I don't intend to. Then I either hit them up for a pretty brown friend that's 19 already, or delete their contact.

And it's always the ones with the prettiest pictures. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a set up.

There are a lot of parents in the Philippines who urge their daughters, some as young as 13, to attract a foreign man who will give cash, gifts, etc. To "help" the family. This practice seems to be especially common in the provinces.

i was researching this and came across this informative posting from another forum which though off topic i thought could be of interest to.

other members. the post is about a year old so if anyone wants to update the info feel free.

i'd like to update this thread with the current mid-2011 offerings of networks here in the ph.

prepaid data: (prepaid sim cards available everywhere from php60) buy this for your smartphones / unlocked broadband sticks.

globe: supersurf service 50php a day or 220php / 5days. fair usage at 800mb / day.

register by texting: supersurf50 or supersurf220 to 8888.

globe apn for prepaid is: http.globe.com.ph

for blackberry users, there is also bb max. bbmax50/220 (same as supersurf validity-wise and unlimited blackberry apn use and internet service) or 599 – 30 days.

smart: two services are now available a. tiered data b. unlimited internet.

a. for tiered data pricing there is always on data plans. 300php is the sweet spot for 250mb of data usable for 30 days or whichever comes first).

register by texting: on 20/30/300/500/750/999 send to 2200. 25mb (1 day) /50mb (1 day) /250mb / 500/1gb / 2gb respectively (smart buddy and smartbro sim)

*there is 200php / 15days / 180mb of data exclusively for smartbro sims and datacards (on 200 send to 2200)

b. unlimited surfing 50 a day. 300 a week or 1200 a month. (pure unrestricted surfing, unlike globe which advertises their supersurf plan as also unlimited)

text: unli 50/300/1200 and send to 211 (smart buddy sim)

text: unli 50/100/200 and send to 2200 (smartbro sim).1/2/5 days.

smart buddy apn: internet.

smartbro apn: smartbro.

i will not include sun cellular prepaid as their network is super slow in congested areas because of their cheap postpaid offering (650php a month for unlimited data) for local calls though, their 150php a month unlimited texts and 4-hour calls within the same network is a steal and their voice network is on par with the top 2 telcos. (use this network for voice and sms in conjunction with data cards / usb modems)

-

usb dongles:

due to widespread unlocking of datacards in the past, the networks now use newer modems with no possible easy unlocks. data cards are relatively cheap for tourists but buy as last resort since it will be unusable after leaving the ph.

globe: tattoo stick. 995php ( 25usd) and unlimited 5 days internet (120 hours) upon activation 2mbps max (800mb a day fair usage. 2100mhz network only, huawei e1550 usb modem)

smart: a. starter plug-it. 995php ( 25usd) and unlimited 5 days internet upon activation 2mbps max download 384kbps up (cheap e153 huawei modem 2100mhz. 850mhz). b. power plug-it. 1245php ( 30usd) with unlimited 5 days upon activation 3mbps max down and 1mbps up. (better mobile software + 2100mhz and 850mhz network) c. rocket plug-it. 4000php ( 100usd) upto 12mbps max 2mbps up. (selected availability on hspa signal)

sun cellular: 1245php slow internet service so i won't bother recommending it. (2100mhz frequency)

coverage ranking: 1. smart 2. globe and 3. sun cellular.

consistency ranking: 1. globe (2mbps is 2mbps) 2. smart 3. sun.

speed ranking: 1. smart (4mbps in good areas, below 2 in congested areas) 2. globe 3. sun.

value ranking: 1. sun 2. smart 3. globe.

only smart has 2 out of 5 3g license released for auction by the ntc that's why they have the better 850mhz frequency for farther reach and better wall penetration.

BDA couple of months ago I posted this question and received some excellent feedback from members. It was suggested that I travel to Philippines and make sure that the girl got out of the country OK. As it turned out I am glad that I did this. It was her first trip on her shinny new passport. Going through the airport there was an additional 'tourist' tax which had to be paid on the girl's ticket. What a rip off. Anyway, if I wasn't there she wouldn't have had the P2, 000 to cover that. Then once she got to immigration there were plenty of questions of her, how did she know me, what were out intentions, where did we meet. I ended up having to sign a Stat Dec to say I would cover her costs and return her to Philippines.

I was actually glad to see the level of detail that the immigration officers went to. As an honest, open monger it was all legit. I hope they do make some dint in the [CodeWord908] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908).

A couple of tips for others:

I preloaded the girls wallet with HKG dollars and she knew how much she had. (they asked to see it)

I also made sure she was carrying PHP.

She knew my full details as per my passport.

I think her being able to answer questions easily without referring to me, made the situation look legitimate, which it was.

Would I do it again. Absolutely. Great benefits having a live in lady for my time in Hong Kong. She was happy just to wander around and be a tourist while I worked.

All up airfare as AUD150 return.

Thank you ISG members.

BDGlad to hear it worked out fine. When I answered your initial question, I forgot to mention that I'd sent a scanned signed copy of a letter in which I declared that I'd take care of all the needs (woohaa) of my girl with regard to food and lodging. I guess this made things easier for her when she went through immigration at HKIA.

There was a thread a few weeks ago about gangs of kids mobbing people and going into their pockets before the yokel knew what was happening. I posted at that time that a little gang of ruffians got me one time in Cebu, then tried it again a couple of days later. Same kids! I guess they hit so many they forget who they have nailed, LOL. A few days more, and they were sitting on some steps in front of my hotel. They posed for the attached pics (if the mod finds it ok to post) , were well aware I was taking them. Brass balls on those kids. Anyway, if a band of kids comes at you, yelling and cheering, just put your hands in your pockets to cover your money and papers and walk on fast.

Thanks to one of our senior members for downsizing the pics; it is not part of my skill set. That's why they weren't posted a couple of weeks ago when the thread was current.

That's looks like them they work the sky bridge that you photograph them on and the street down to fooda. Where are the NGO when it comes to kids like these, us mongers have no chance of helping them and they just annoy us when they want, giving them money only keeps them out on the street.

Still at least they do not own guns or knifes like back home.

That's why they weren't posted a couple of weeks ago when the thread was current. That pic is taken at the skywalk fuente circle. Be careful of those kids. They operate around the fuente mango area and swarm foreigners who have both eyes glued on the filipinas instead of being aware of there surroundings. Sometimes the kids get into trouble with a security guard and the guard calls the PNP. They round up the kids and turn them over to the DSSC cebu section. The kids are (mostly) from Mindanao and have an older handler (aunt or uncle). When the family of the children can't be located DSSC releases the kids back to the street with threats that if they are caught again they will be fed to the crocodiles. It doesn't work, the kids are back on fuente the same day.

Local kids from very poor areas around CC have started to sing Christmas songs (caroling) to jeep passengers stopped at major intersections. They fill an empty water bottle with small rocks to make noise. Many locals are complaining about the kids but it's low priority stuff.

And it is a shame and food for thought when you see the girls dressed up at mango at 1 am. I told them to enjoy their youth it only comes once. You could see so much pain and knowlege in those little eyes. They tried to get in my pockets my first time back in 20 years about 4 years ago. I could see the mom or auntie egging them on. I even just walked in the middle of the street and they still would not give up. So I walked up to the pizza place across from Jullianas. It was 1pm day time and the waiter ran them off. Now, this is the hard part. I sat there and cried. I would give up my daily pussy for those kids to eat. I just would not let them take from me. But, I knew in my heart my God, Jesus loved them more than he did me. That he said suffer not the children to come unto me. I just do not like to be robbed. That poor young waiter looked at me like a old fool. And I got up after drinking my coffe and water and headed down to Foda. It takes a while to get use to the poverty sometimes. That is why I like cebu more than manila. There are up to 2 million people living on the street in manila. Kids! Our future, Yea I know who they are. Manila.

Due to logistical problems, we finally landed in Manila at sunrise. Seven hours past scheduled arrival. I checked into a room at Executive Plaza that I booked on Expedia for 50usd per night. For walk-ins, the nightly rate is 2, 500php. Oddly, both rates haven't changed in a few years, despite the fluctuating dollar / peso.

Even after being awake for 30 hours (Impossible for me to nap on a plane) I was too excited to sleep. So I showered, changed, and headed out to MBC.

Maybe because of the early hour, my first visit to MBC in six months wasn't as exciting as I had anticipated. I arrived to find a rough selection of honeys vying for a few guys slumped over the bar. The guys were in a zombie-like state, presumably due to a night of hard partying. And the honeys looked tired and desperate. The mood was depressing. I left before I even finished my drink.

Still awake at noon, I returned to MBC determined to find a quality honey to keep me company before sleep caught up with me. A cutie, looking vaguely familiar, stepped up and introduced herself as Princess. Princess reminded me that we had met months ago, and that I had given her a small tip before I left the bar with someone else. That checks out, I thought. Whenever I meet a quality honey that I can't fit into my schedule, I slip her a little something so that she remembers me next time. Princess was chosen on the spot, and left me dead tired after her great performance. I slept for hours.

Later that night, I stopped by Amazonia hoping to spot the elusive honey who had once upon a time rocked my world. Ever since our first and only encounter many moons ago, I always make an effort to look out for her whenever I'm in Manila. I haven't seen her since, but it doesn't cost anything to keep hope alive.

However, I did achieve some success with the charming darling who served me. Fresh from Samar, I could see that she was strictly a waitress and had no interest in the game. We agreed to hook up after her shift the next day for some innocent fun. After finalizing our plans, I said goodnight to Miss Samar, and headed to MBC, where I had an appointment to meet Yvonne.

I've known Yvonne for a few years, and it's always a pleasure to see her. An adorable spinner who always looks fresh and well groomed, never grubby, and never in a hurry, she scores a solid ten for presentation and attitude alone. She's one of the few MBC honeys who I wouldn't mind being seen with in public. You might find her with a friend or two, but she normally operates alone. That night she introduced one of her friends, and the three of us went to my room for a photo shoot. (Yvonne loves posing for photos, but unfortunately for you horny toads, only under the condition that I promise not to post them online.) After an hour, Yvonne asks me to choose between them for the main event. I chose her friend and Yvonne happily leaves with a small tip. Later during her performance, I had to stop a few times to make sure that my newest honey was still breathing. She turned out to be as sensuous as a sack of rice. When I finally sent her on her way, I found myself more disappointed about wasting a good nut than about anything else.

The next morning, I rested before hanging out with Miss Samar in the afternoon. An invitation to my room was firmly declined, but we still had a great time.

Angeles.

I headed out to Angeles for the first time to pay a quick visit to a honey I had recently met on Facebook. Following the advice on this board, I called up Swagman Hotel to confirm their bus schedule. They accommodate everyone who shows up by departure time, so reservations are not required. 500php each way. I also learned that they're only a short ride from Executive Plaza. Close enough to walk, but I suggest a taxi. Walking the streets with your luggage is an invitation for thugs, who will know that you're carrying everything with you, including your passport, cash, and credit cards.

A few dudes on the bus took jabs at me. No need to tie yourself down to one honey in Angeles, they advised. I explained that this was primarily a reconnaissance mission, squeezed in after I had finalized my itinerary. Don't worry, I assured them. I'll be back to tear up Angeles right.

Getting to Angeles was smooth. I was pleased to see that the bus loops around the city to drop off passengers at their hotels. On the rebound, they'll pick you up if you call in advance.

I stayed at the Savannah, booked on Agoda for 100usd. Judging by how hard it was to find an available room online, you should be sure that your accommodations are set before heading to Angeles. Savannah is not in the center of the action, but I was impressed with the facilities. They have real beds too.

I had a great time with my Facebook honey. After the main event, she guided my first walking tour of Fields Ave. (100php trike ride from Savannah.) From what I saw, I understood why dudes give the Angeles Experience mixed reviews.

To get a feel for my Facebook honey's level in the game, I casually asked her about how much honeys in Angeles earn. I then coyly suggested that a saleslady job in a mall might be enough for her. She sharply replied that she prefers working in the bar. She has a lot of friends there, and it's a lot of fun. Expecting a heartbreaking story about the pressures of being the family's breadwinner, that response took me by surprise.

Tacloban.

I started my journey to Biliran to visit an ex girlfriend and her family who have grown over the years to become dear friends. Getting to Biliran involves flying to Tacloban, then riding in a car for about three hours.

At Tacloban, I was greeted by my ex and three of her young and gorgeous cousins. We planned to spend the night in the city before driving to Biliran in the morning. (One of the young cousins drives her own car!)

Dissatisfied with Leyte Park resort on previous visits, I rolled the dice with Hotel Alejandro. As a walk-in, the room was a reasonable 1, 100php. It was simple and clean, and the hotel had a warm and cozy feel. Random walks through the corridors to take in the WW2 memorabilia on display would appeal to the history buffs out there. I highly recommend it. Also recommended is Ocho, a seafood restaurant in town. (I know what you're thinking, and the answer is no. Her three cousins stayed with relatives elsewhere in the city.)

At Biliran, the family greeted me with a surprise welcome back party, complete with a little roasted pig. I spent a few days with the family doing a lot of outdoor stuff. I was asked to put my wallet away so many times I was becoming suspicious. I had a great experience. Her family really knows how to make a visitor feel like a welcomed guest.

My ex is a schoolteacher who comes from a family of achievers. A few of them hold respected positions in the community, and the youngsters are destined for nice careers in medicine and law. It didn't occur to me until my long flight back home that maintaining relationships with the youngsters could develop into nice connections in the future, should I eventually retire to the Philippines. They're now on my Christmas list.

Cebu.

After Biliran, I headed to Cebu to spend quality time with my Cebu squeeze. Getting to Cebu from Biliran involves a harrowing bus ride to Ormoc (200php) , then ferrying to Cebu (I forgot the cost). The bus driver zipped through the countryside like a cowboy high on cocaine.

Miss Squeeze is a recent college grad I met four years ago. Part of her story is the cliché we all know: Young, cute, poor, and fighting her way up in life. But beyond that, she's quite different. Her intelligence is astounding, and I'm not being condescending. She has a greater aptitude for learning than some individuals I know with Ivy League credentials. I've supported her through school, and she just landed her first real job. She wanted to celebrate by treating me to a romantic weekend on the Camotes Islands, for which she had been saving for a while. A lovely catch, indeed. Oh, I almost forgot. And I met her on DIA.

Getting to Camotes from Cebu meant a ride from the V-hire terminal at SM mall to Danao (100php). From there, another ferry takes you to the islands (I don't remember the fare.) We stayed at Santiago Bay Resort, located right on the beach (1, 300php, cash only.) The facilities were fine, but there was no Wi-Fi and cellular service was poor. Like in Biliran, the translucence of the water was surreal. I went camera crazy.

We returned to Cebu where Miss Squeeze alternated between her home and my room at Holiday Plaza (2, 000php) for the next few nights. This provided some time for me to check out Cebu's night scene alone.

On a whim late one night, I took a taxi to the much talked about Colon area. The experience was creepy, but I finally settled on a honey that I took to Queensland Motel. I was tempted to keep it simple and take her back to Holiday, but I was concerned that she might return uninvited while Miss Squeeze was in the room. That could easily happen, considering the relaxed security at Holiday.

Although a little rough around the edges, she was cute with a tight body, and performed like a champ. I mulled over seeing her again, but my thoughts kept returning to the hazards of dealing with street honeys. So I let it go.

Gensan.

My last stop was Gensan. I had originally planned to spend most of my vacation there, but I procrastinated because I was doubtful of its purpose.

I was to finally meet the family of a lady who I've spent several romantic weekends with (I'the fly her in from Gensan to wherever I might be.) She's a sexy 23 year old with a lovely hourglass figure on a petite frame, and has a flawless complexion. She has professed her undying love and devotion to me, but anyone with an ounce of smarts could see that I'm not the only guy in the picture. It didn't make sense to bring things to the next level by meeting her family.

I eventually caved in to the pressure that comes with making a promise to a Filipina drama queen, and agreed to visit for one night. (Yet another clue. Someone truly in love would find that compromise unacceptable.)

Miss Gensan and her (equally hot) sisters picked me up at the airport and brought me to Manny Pacquiao's new Roadhous Economy Hotel, where I dropped off my things before going to their home. The room was a reasonable 2, 000php per night. Everything was brand spanking new. Nice restaurant too. Nope, I did not see Mr. Pacquiao.

Admittedly, after seeing Miss Gensan's living conditions, I can appreciate her mercenary style. If trapped in the same circumstances, I'the also grab on to every opportunity in sight. With that understanding, I took things in stride, and just enjoyed my last night in the Philippines.

Before I wrap up, I have one more thing to share. It seems that some mongers out there have the game fucked up. On two occasions I observed dudes carrying on in public as if they were actual rock stars. Guys, as a foreigner, you will have already arrived with more player points than you will need. Loud and boastful public displays not only serve to turn off the ladies, they also expose you to locals aiming to do you harm. Do yourself a favor and leave your swagger at home.

-Gumby.Great report and nice to read, I do agree with the last comment greatly, the amount of times I see guys here with inflated ego here in cebu makes me wonder why they even bother to leave home and come here.

Some are our bogans from Aust, the others seem to just be bad drunks who think their shit does not stink, I must admit they do look stupid when the stare at my harem of girls, last time going out I even had one try and join my girls while they where on the dance floor, what they did not see is how the security where looking at me while standing behind them, being a local expat and knowing the staff here I never worry, but I can imagine other guys not being as nice.

I think the swagger comes from too much drink and no amount of IQ can help the state these guys drink themselves too.

The police are much maligned in the Philippines and for many good reasons. But this article sort of rubs salt in the wounds as all cheated and got the wrong answer. Says a lot!

Any news coming out this morning about the murder of the American diplomat in Makati?According to this article, the American killed was the husband of a diplomat. I wonder if he was a monger?

For some reason, I can't find this story on any of the major American news networks.

http://gawker.com/5963052/marine-husband-of-us-diplomat-murdered-in-the-philippines

A USA national living in the city of Makati, a part of Metro Manila, was stabbed to death by four men just outside of the gate to his residential community yesterday. The victim, George Anikow, was initially identified as a diplomat himself, with police chief Manual Lucban confirming he'd received a call from the US Embassy after the murder; other sources identify Anikow as "a dependent of one of the officers of the US Embassy" awaiting a return to active duty as a USA Marine.

According to ABS-CBN News, the four men were riding in a silver Volvo that was stopped at the security gate of the Bel-Air subdivision for an identity check around 4:20 a. M. When Anikow walked up. Reports of the nature of the argument vary, although the police report that at some point Anikow "tapped" the men's car, at which point all four passengers came out and confronted him. Anikow was stabbed repeatedly and died a few hours later in a local hospital.

Friends of Anikow have already begun posting messages of condolence on the Facebook page for the 4th Civil Affairs Group. As part of this group, Anikow was trained in "Tactical Conflict Assessment Planning and Framework," a technique that was designed to assist Marines foster relationships with local populations.

The four men, who were caught by police after a short motorcycle chase, were identified as Crispec dela Paz, Galicano Datu III, Ospic Caburay, and Juan Abastillas. Two of them are currently students at De La Salle University. A tactical knife has already been recovered from the vehicle and the police are prepared to file charges.

Outside of an initial flurry of stories on the local news immediately after the stabbing, I've seen nothing on the local media about the story. BelAir is one of the richest, most exclusive subdivisions in Makati, which makes the story even more bizarre.

But the other side of the equation-young Filipinos (in a Volvo, no less)--stabbing a foreigner in the middle of the night in a gated community in Makati, is equally puzzling. In the past, several expats have defended Filipinos against our criticisms, noting their loyalty and generosity. I also know of situations in which poor Filipino families put the last of the family larder out just to treat guests hospitably, leaving nothing for themselves for the future. (Delayed gratification has little meaning to many Filipinos.)

But on the other hand this violent underbelly exists: killing off political opponents; stabbings or shootings to avenge infringements on somebody's wife or girlfriend, or sometimes over some trivial slight against one's honor. (But can't help wondering if this story involves encroachment on somebody's girlfriend.) There's also a history of inter-fraternity violence that has resulted in murdering members of opposing fraternities at the top universities in the country-apparently over little more than honor and retaliation. And these are supposed to be the creme de la creme of young Filipinos.

So this juxtaposition of generosity and loyalty, on the one hand, and murderous violence at the drop of a hat (or a tap on the side of a car), on the other hand, is paradoxical. I have a hard time getting my head around it. Anybody among our expats got a handle on this paradox?

http://news.ph.msn.com/regional/hundreds-of-philippine-police-cheated-in-examsSounds exactly like what the Deltas did in Animal House: all used the same crib sheet with wrong answers for the big psychology exam. Hilarious that real life can be the same as the movie. You suppose the PNP have toga parties?
