I try to think positive: They have a higher tolerance for mental torture.

- Point her at the TV while getting some work or reading done. Depending on her intellectual pursuits, try in descending order Pinoy Big Brother, music video channel, Showtime / Eat Bulaga, or cartoons.

I usually introduce them to US & UK telly programmes and films to watch together. Because the dialogue can go a bit fast and some accents are tougher for them to understand I download those that include the closed captioning or I get the srt file for English subtitles.

These are series I've found they like a lot.

Luther.
Peep Show.
Hannibal.
Banshee.
Mr Robot.
Vikings.
Walking Dead.
Orphan Black.

Film:
What About Bob? - every girl who has seen it loves this movie. I think I've now watched it a few hundred times. Physical comedy works better that satire, parody, and irony.
The Notebook. This must be the most loved movie here, but really I can't watch it too often because it's saccharine tripe.
Three Idiots. An Indian movie that's well liked.
Mesrine. Arty farty French film doesn't work, but action flicks with Vince Cassel are good.
The Pusher trilogy.
Any zombie movie.
Documentaries about rock bands.

If you're meeting girls aged 18-25 many of them have never seen the classics, like The Godfather, The French Connection and Rocky. The Nora Ephron rom-coms such as When Harry Met Sally are unknown but well liked.

If you download here plan ahead because it will take many more hours.

- Sometimes, though, you just got to exchange entire sentences with her. Stuck in a taxi, eating together, waiting for checkout, whatever. The snarky advice is to say "avoid this", but what to do if it's too late and there you are stuck with her? I personally start asking questions so simple that any girl can answer but may be useful to me in the future. Who was the prettiest girl (or biggest boobs, or whatever you like) of your classmates, besides you of course? (added for bola-bola, Tagalog word for flattery). (Make mental notes to try contacting in FB). So you have sisters? Cousins? Are they older or younger? Can I see their pictures? (Mental notes about details). What did you like the most that we did in bed? (To improve technique with her or in general). You get the idea. None of this is exciting, but it's possible to get useful info while stuck. A few I've given well-needed classes on every available form of birth control. They've been appreciative and often opened up a lot more about Pinay life they'd never otherwise admit. All good advice.

I am proud to claim this as the best of the Spanish heritage.

If WWII and the destruction it rained on the PI did not force change not even Pol Pot will shake this place, it is stuck in the 18th century I am afraid.

So much for the Yanks, now that I think of.

The lack of investment as GE points out was one reason the Asian Basketball tournament was awarded to China despite the Philippines thinking it was a shoe in to host the next event. Only this country would not see it lack of basic infrastructure to host a major tournament as an obstacle.

Add to this news on the bullet scam at NAIA, more travel advisories against visiting especially since the recent kidnappings in the south plus a host of other stories on blogs about scams etc, I am not surprised that tourism (which should be good source of income and employment) is not booming.

Add to all this what GE noted about the politicians / family dynasties you get the picture.

ASEAN integration is something that will be very difficult (and possibly unwelcome for many of the dynasties). As a result, the country will suffer the consequences for a long time until someone / something is done and I would think it needs to be drastic before the country can rise from its inevitable position at the bottom of the pile.

Isn't T4 considered the airports intl LCC terminal? Have past it on numerous occations and don't think I ever will feel the urge to go there. It looks not very inviting and from what I read here I have been right all along. So I continue my biz from mostly T3 without worry to much about beeing scammed. What should worry people more and airlines too are the sloppy securitychecks. Not that I am traveller with an evil mind but my last departure eve 29 of Sept I walked through security with my iphone in my pocket and belt still on. The x ray beeped but the officer just waived me through. In my carry on I did have a 0. 5 l btl of water and ipad (I forgot the btl of water) and no one raised an eyebrow when my bag popped out from the machine. I normaly not forget this as I prep myself long time before I am even close to security check. Maybe a state of hornyfog.

An interesting thread. I have not been back for a couple of years but was planning to come last March. Instead my daughter convinced me to meet her in Vietnam and travel with her for a month there. It was not my preferred destination, but she and her sibling bought me return tickets as a birthday present. We traveled by planes, trains, buses, and automobile from Hanoi to Saigon and into Cambodia. One of my main reasons for going to the Philippines has been that almost everyone is able to communicate in English and of course the plentiful supply of companionship.

The first couple of nights in Vietnam we stayed in a high end hotel and my fears of lack of service in English were magnified. We went to the tour desk and could not book a simple cruise due to their inability to speak English despite almost everyone at the front desk trying to add their idea of what we were looking for. We finally went to where the back packers congregate and booked the trip in minutes. From there on my daughter used trip adviser to book our hotels. She and I have different standards. To her more than $20.00 to $30.00 a night is a waste of money. She looked at reviews within a range of her price points and booked. If we didn't like it we only stayed a night, if we liked it, we extended. Her price point is where the backpackers stay. Almost all the hotel staff in these areas speak English and can help you with simple things like a SIM card that can become complicated if you wish to use an approved provider. The hotels were nicer than some of the three to four star hotels I have stayed at in the Philippines and all had room safes.

When we traveled what stuck me was the number of new highways being built, and older highways being repaired and twinned and the money being spent on infrastructure. Compare that to each island having it's own issues and either not having the money, will, or desire to upgrade they are going to fall further and further behind faster and faster. I am planning to come back towards the end of October but everything I have been reading here is convincing me to take a side trip to Vietnam. Unless it is pointed out to you. Which it sometimes was, you would not know you are in a communist country. Custom made quality suits in twenty four hours for $125.00 in some communities.

If there was a supply of ladies there as there is in the Philippines I would go directly there. Sadly DIA ladies are very specific on their preferences. Oldies like me are seldom responded to. LOL I managed to sneak out for one blow job in a MP but was quoted an outrageous amount for a BBBJ. I paid and it was average.

We had one dealing with a police officer. Helpful, and brief.

The current Philippine stories of plane delays, traffic, and now luggage tampering having me seriously questioning if it is worth the risk to come back at the end of October. Then again LOL. I have a lady I have seen on each trip for the last five trips who has a desire to add to her bucket list of where she can have sex. I have an affliction for thirty to forty year olds with degrees and good jobs who can carry on a conversation as I like longer term visits. Each to their own. But they are an untapped mine. There are many who are single, slim, tight, attractive, will screw you silly at the drop of a hat, go to a museum with you and explain their history, and drop their pants again as soon as they are back in the room. That is worth taking a chance on planted bullets for a couple weeks in Phils for me this month.

Nice post. I've had some fantastic mileage with an educated 30+ gal. I even saved money. She gave me Internet access, had her maid cook me breakfast after she had left for work, and her driver take me to the airport. I bought her some really nice lingerie, which she happily modeled for me. Like many of my favorites, she found her match in the developed world. Not sure how she has adjusted to no maid, no driver.

Unlike some of my past flames, I'm pretty sure the guy did well.

As for the my ancient past Davao girl, I recently found her on FB. SHe was a scammer / beggar, but had the most beautiful eyes. Loved those long eyelashes. I had to meet the whole extended family, but f'd her on the first date. Short petite girls usually don't look good after gaining weight and this gal is absolutely ghastly now. I always felt sorry for the guy who ended up with her, but he seems happy and they have a cute kid. Life is strange.

Plane kept going until came to some small building. I never been at Terminal 4 before and it was obvious that I was in a 3rd world country with a 4th Class airport. Especially getting a taxi getting there was another experience since taxi drivers prefer other terminals apparently.

There is alot of hysteria here with regard to this report of the bullet scam at Terminal 4.

Lets take it in perspective.

Its terminal 4. I haven't used terminal 4 in 7 or 8 years. I used to use it to take Asian Spirit to fly to Samar. Once they built terminal 3 it sucked the majority of the life out of Terminal 4. There are ZERO international flights out of T4, thus its a purely pinoy airport with none of the scrutiny of an international airport and thus the 'single bullet" scam.

Was the scam used at Terminal 1, 2 or 3? They are very busy international airports I'm not saying there arent scammers there but lets look at this in a proper perspective. I'm not defending the Phils system as its corrupt as hell but if they start f*cking with international passengers at the main 3 airports where 98%+ of us foriegners end up using it will be a mess.

Be vigilant with your bags whenever you travel internationally for sure but keep the paranoia in perspective.

I flew out of T3 on Saturday. There were long lines outside for the baggage scanner. As stated before I always use the porters to avoid these lines and they use a separate short or no line scanner. What was funny was that NO one was standing within 10 feet of the scanner and the security scanner to the gates. I guess no security people want to be near the bags now.

Thanks to Cebu Pacific I've finally had the opportunity to witness what happens when one of the world's worst airlines meets one of the world's worst airports. The magnitude of the sheer incompetence transcends the pathetic and enters the realm of surrealism thus creating a sort of aviation theater of the absurd.

Yesterday, I had a Cebu Pacific ticket for my normal Manila-Davao flight, and arrived at the gate about 15 minutes to flight time. Now I know from bitter experience that for any airline using the wretched airport, schedules are at best optimistic estimates. A more accurate schedule would likely say something like: "maybe sometime today," instead of a specific time. Yesterday, as is typical of a Saturday, thousands of people milled around the various gates, as there's little seating. Nonetheless, I braved the crowds, got to the desk and realized that there was no sign for my flight. In fact no indication that there would even be a flight, and there was no aircraft parked at the gate.

I know that Cebu Pacific, which is the Edsel of aviation management, has outsourced its gate management responsibilities to some lackluster consultant company that hires young, untrained people to face the wrath of irate passengers. Their level of competence, never high to begin with, evaporated when I asked where the plane was, and when it might depart. The bottom line was that no one had any clue. Finally, one agent told me that the plane that was to have been utilized for the flight had been pulled off to service another route due to a sudden "emergency. " Of course this information wasn't shared with the general public. The same agent told me that, though there was no official word, the delay would probably be about two hours. Finally, I had the sense to check the official web site and realized that the flight was at least 4 hours delayed. Again information not shared with the 400 or so passengers waiting sheeplike for someone to tell them what to do. For me, this was an unusually stark sign of the total disdain that CP feels for its hapless passengers.

Once I realized that any hope of catching the flight would require waiting at least another four hours, I demanded, and received, a rebooking for the next day and simply left the airport. I've no idea when or even if my original flight left yesterday. Again, prior to my leaving, passengers were told there would be a two hour delay, which of course the gate agents knew to be a lie.

Today, while waiting for my rebooked flight, I noticed several flight crews, from many different flights, approaching the desk asking for information on where their planes were as the actual crews had no clue. These included 2 pilots who had no gate information, came this had no idea where to find their planes. I also had a chance to speak with the highly experienced captain on my flight today, who until this year was a Senior Captain with EtiHad. A real airline. He told me, shaking his head sadly, that yesterday he had to wait in the cockpit for four ours before he could get takeoff clearance. He said he only had another year until retirement and figured he could tough it out for that long.

At best, Cebu Pacific has never ranked higher than mediocre. This month however, its performance has declined dramatically. I'm going to try as hard as I can to avoid the airline in the future and I'll go back to PAL.

Had I written this yesterday, at the height of my anger, this would have been a more contemptuous rant. Now, it's merely a sharing of the resignation I feel, and the reconfirmation that nothing works well for long here.

GE.GE,

I was speaking to one of the ladies who works for Cebu Pac and handles the gates in Cebu.

She said there were many unhappy passengers for reasons you stated but the issue from Cebu was NAIA would not the planes take off so they had to wait. Limited information was give to her either and so she could not impart much to the passengers.

She said the main reasons for delays (regardless of day / month / year) is the sub standard airport ad that the only way t try and get a on time departure is to leave early. But this does not guarantee on time arrival as you can still circle NAIA for 30 minutes waiting for a slot.

I have left early on a EK flight arrived (in the air that is) 20 minutes early and still landed very late all because if NAIA. My most recent flight from Cebu arrived on time but I took an early morning one.

I have also seen and spoken with pilots who were a tad annoyed the plane had moved or gate had changed without hem being told.

Am never sure where blame is to be apportioned but the politicians certainly do. They want an inquiry but then the lack of investment in an every busy airport is one of the reason.

Yes the communication sucks and for sure the girls (who agency employed not airline employed) are poorly trained. My fried had 10 day training and thrown I the deep end, but like many things with air travel one huge reason is NAIA.

PAL I have never used since I was royally messed around o 2 consecutive flights and if NIAA won't let Cebu Pac take off the same applies to all airline I would think.

As you have said before, the whole airport is a mess and the sector needs investment and energy the country does not have mainly as so many want to dip their hands into the pot. If the PAL idea for a new airport had been approved, if the someone would build high speed train links etc. To many 'ifs' IMHO and no political will to resolve. Now elections are looming and no one will do anything except make sure they can be re elected so to continue the gravy train.

I will continue to fly Cebu Pac but I am always taking morning flight very early where I have found less chance of issues. You are in Davao so matter maybe different and I understand that.

Air Asia is generally the best low cost carrier in Asia, but even they have their moments of ineptitude. Any let's not forget the LCCs in Europe aren't actually much better, Ryanair are despicable in virtually every way.

Seems unable to meet the standards of the international routes IMHO. Plus T4 is a real dog of a terminal. I used to fly SeaAir from T4 but I really avoid if I can.

As for Cebu Pac. Am also told the new system is casing lots of grief. Too many bugs with formation to counter staff being consistently worn (eg they are informed a plane is 2 hrs late and the it suddenly arrives) and passengers not being fed on tome or poor quality (after 3+ hrs delays Cebu ac feed you). Food that is ordered arrives late also which just fuels emotions. This is the managers fault for not thinking ahead and planning properly.

But all in all I still prefer Cebu Pac to PAL (given really bad experiences with PAL that I have yet to forget). As I said I try to fly very early to avoid NAIA issues and this most of the times helps me stay relaxed.

But the issues of NAIA won't go away anytime soon and will likely get worse as some carriers crease flights to the country (Emirates for example). So don't expect changes and as it is election year soon those in power won't care for anything but getting re elected.

Unfortunately, most of the airlines are plagued with different problems. PAL customer service is like loophole. Once you get in you can not get out. Maybe I am expecting to much since I am so used to of (mostly) honest customer service in USA.

The "new" Terminal 3 is very crowded check-in side, roof leaks in heavy rain air side, travel scalators not functioning and toilet facilities air side poor. Terminal 2 International part (Philippine Airlines) is very very overcrowded (especially in evenings) with very few totally inadequate dirty, smelly toilets. Amazing: there is no departure board in that terminal. First time I have been in an international terminal anywhere with no departure board giving flight status. The chaos mentioned with Cebu Pacific is to be expected. Expect the same with aircraft servicing and crew training. On entering Manila airport have zero expectations, do not leave your bags out of eye view at security and try and SEAL your check in bags (zippers are easily opened). Watch everything around you as it is well publicized in the Philippine press that scamming is big business in Manila airport.

Yes, the country is falling into the abyss. Did Terminal 1 get it's air con back. Thank God I haven't had to enter that place lately. And the people movers in Terminal 3? I've never seen them work before. CP is apparently reverting to what it used to be and Philippine Airlines should be an embarrassment to the country. But they don't get embarrassed. They pull the pinoy pride thing and tell us we're arrogant. Few of us really are. We just expect things to work like the 2 ATMs down the street from where I live. This is the 2nd time in a week when they've both been "Temporarily Out of Service. " Now if I have to grab some cash, I have to travel 1 km and maybe, just maybe, that one will work.

What can these people possibly be so proud of?

From the time you enter the country in Terminal 1 you're wondering if you're in the 21st century. Then you have the army of maggots trying to screw you in any way possible. Then there's the traffic getting to where you want to go. Who ever heard of a city with 20 million people and just one major runway at its airport? Been coming here nearly 10 years now and living her for two. Maybe it's time to start looking.

Whats' your beef? LOL.

When there was a mini flood and for half a day the road was not usable for passengers, all the NAIA crew had to do was to say "bear with us".

When a guy fell into a hole and injured himself, the NAIA chief said "93.5% work is complete, once it 100% complete, there will no such mishap.

And locals are happy.

The plane to Manila has been here for over an hour, but we can't board because of "air traffic congestion in Manila. " So, it will have taken me about the same time today to get from Davao to Manila as it would to fly from New York to London, both cities with real airports and working ground equipment. I guess the old joke is ever more true: the only reason the Philippines remains a third world country is because there's no fourth world category".

Also I read somewhere that the baggage weight limit to caticlan (Boracay) was increased from 10 kilos to 20 kilos. Can anyone confirm this? Going from Cebu to another domestic destination would probably be less hazzle as the airspace and airport would not be so conguested as Naia's. Catlican airport differ again greatly from the two mentioned airports as it is a very small airport (can only take down STOL aircraft, mostly props. Only daylight landings and it is very exposed to weather (windy conditions, heavy rains etc etv). Flight easily get cancelled to and from Catlican. To be on the safer side choose Kalibo as they can handle bigger jets, also nighttime. Most things in this world will be better than go through Naia from any reasons. You can check in luggage up to 20 kg. Only Cebu Pacific and Phil Air serve Catlican from Cebu and Manila.

Hey all,

Just a question to anyone who's been to both Subic and Puerto Galera. I been to Subic a few times and loved it. We are planning on a trip to Puerto Galera and just want to know if the nightlife bar scene in Puerto Galera is comparable to Subic? Thanks, FB.

Also Puerto Galera is only accessible using boats which some consider unsafe. Subic is accessed easily by buses. If one does not like Subic -just take a short bus ride back to Angeles City.

Of course the big question is, now I know, do I see her again? Sadly I suspect not.I prefer one who frankly tells me she has a BF / husband or kids or sick carabao or whatever, but even when they lie blatantly there's no need to delete from your "just for fun" backup list. Just keep them away from any information or posessions that they shouldn't have access to.

Nice to see some fresh air here. If she's willing to desperately ask for handouts via email or sms, she probably willing to give it up. No reason to over react.

One of my regulars says she needs money to send her two kids back to school. She has recently moved to another part of Angeles and has to send her kids to another elementary school. She claims she needs 1825 PhP plus another 850 PhP for two uniforms. Could this be true? I have googled a bit and it seems to me that the public elementary schools are free (except maybe for the uniforms).

She says 'have problem trasper'. I don't know what the heck she means with 'trasper'. Maybe (money) transfer? Or transport?

She says 'have problem trasper'. I don't know what the heck she means with 'trasper'. Maybe (money) transfer? Or transport?Yes, public education is free, but there are other non-tuition fees. The student must provide his / her supplies, 'baon' (food), uniform, etc. Then there are other fees such as PTA, which though not mandatory, are pushed on the family - see http://www.deped.gov.ph/press-releases/deped-reiterates-%E2%80%9Cno-collection-policy%E2%80%9D-public-schools.

BTW, by gov't order school uniforms are not mandatory, but there are guidelines, http://www.deped.gov.ph/orders/do-46-s-2008. It may be cheaper to buy a uniform than to have a few sets of school-appropriate clothes. For schools that have a recommended uniform here there's social pressure to conform.

I suspect 'trasper' is her attempt at 'transportation fare'; ask her is she means 'pamasahe', which is 'fare'.

I recently alloted P750 for a single uniform for a college student of a parochial school. So P750 for two uni for elementary school sounds right. My student was bemused that I wanted her to come dressed in the uni. And she's right, it's not at all sexy compared with her street wear. I was only ensuring that the funds had been spent as agreed.

You may have noticed that the letters p and f are interchangeable in filipino languages. Also, there are no doubled consonants. So transfer becomes trasper.

I had a girl coming to visit by ferry. Because there is more than one line, docking in different places, I asked for the name of the ferry, and told her to read it, not ask another passenger. But she texted "pass crap". She was also a college studlent. I replied, that's the name for a CR, not a ferry. Eventualy by a similar linguistic analysis, I figured out "Fast Craft".

Thanks a lot Hutsori! Just one more question: if she means 'transportation fare' does it mean she has to pay for the school bus?I think it likely means tricycle (motorbike with sidecar) or jeepney or pedicab fare for students going to their local school. In a distantly related situation, I Google mapped the distance from house to school to see whether it was reasonably walkable. It's not unusual, though, for them to catch a ride regardless.

It goes both ways. On my first ever visit to the Philippines I was looking for a place in the Saint Francis mall in Ortigas, located near the Podium building. I must have gone back and forth three times between the two asking locals: "Where is the Saint Francis?" Reply: "Next to Poe-joom (pointing)" As I walked in the direction of pointing I'd ask: "Where's the Poe-joom? Reply: "Next to Sinpransis (pointing back the way I came)". As ridiculous as it sounds, I now usually pronounce English names Pinoy style to avoid confusion.

Public education in this place is extraordinarily poorly funded and only putatively free. Students, for example, are provided a minimum amount of school supplies at the beginning of the year; supplies that do not last beyond the first couple of months of school terms. It's up to parents to replace them. It's also up to parents to provide the means of transport, appropriate school clothes, lunches and funds for the endless, and mandatory "special events" that take the place of classroom education for days on end. Many poorer parents lack the means to fulfill these requirements which partially explains the high drop out rates.

Gentlemen,

Thank you for your wisdom and guidance over the previous year. I haven't been posting much at all, but I have been logging in regularly to keep track of the gossip and goings-on.

I've just returned from an 11 day trip to the Philippines. Spent 1 day traveling each way from the US, 5 days in Malate, and 4 days in AC.

I basically did a M-F in AC, and the weekends of each side of the week in Malate.

I spent the majority of my Malate mongering time in LA Caf. This may seem a tad odd and a little way of out the norm, but I used two hotels concurrently while in Malate.

I am just a tad on the paranoid side, and try to fly under the radar and avoid risk to the degree that I can. My main hotel was Cherry Blossom, next to Robinson mall. This is where I stored my luggage, credit cards, passport, laptop, etc. I like their hotel office safety deposit boxes (like a bank safety deposit box) behind two locked doors and a security camera along with my own private key. I don't trust hotel room safes. I also like to stay in CB's two story townhouses with entrance from the garage. I don't care about the walk of shame, but I do care about privacy and having to walk through the Lobby with my "working girl".

I also used the Brickstone Hotel as a "Staging area". The Brickstone is right next door to LA Caf. I like it because it is a 24 hour, cash based short time hotel available for 1500 PHP per 24 hour period. I would have LA Caf FLs meet me in the Lobby. I liked this setup for a couple of reasons:

1) It greatly cut my travel back and forth between CB and LA. While not a long walk, it does get me quite sweaty every time. Plus, being in the rainy season, one can never predict when the next deluge will occur.

2) It increases my safety. I didn't have to travel the seedy streets of Ermita at 2 AM. In addition, the street people didn't see me in the company of suspected prostitutes. Moreover, if I ever did have a problem, I could be packed up and gone from the Brickstone in a matter of minutes. No credit cards, no luggage, no names, no checkout process.

I didn't let my CB world and my Brickstone worlds collide. I took perhaps 10 ladies from LA all to the Brickstone, and none to the CB.

Most of my LA Caf ladies were repeats. I had some real sweet ladies. I know that a lot of my fellow mongers think LA is a fugly show. But I think there are some sweethearts there. One sweet young lady was really, really, cute (at least to me). I took her 3 times over the course of my trip.

Most of the FLs were starting the bidding at 2500 PHP, but they will gladly accept 2000. I could have gotten probably down even below that but instead negotiated bareback, two pops, and vibrator use. Some ladies are hesitant about going bareback at least at first, but I think they are more worried about getting knocked up that catching an STD. I promised to cum outside and they all agreed.

If you want to go bareback, I recommend you negotiate this up front.

In AC, I stayed in the New Central Park Tower. Really liked it. I stayed in the Penthouse across the street on my last visit, and think. I like the Central Park Tower a little better. While I did have a great view of Mt Arayat at the Penthouse, there is some amount of street noise from Santos street. Central Park Tower street noise was almost non-existent.

I stuck to the Fields Ave bars, and probably took the most ladies from Atlantis. Had no problems at all.

Thanks again for your year of wisdom and guidance. Especially GE for his periodic rants about "Life in the Philippines". It serves as a reminder to me that the Phils is a nice place to visit, but I should think very, very carefully about whether I want to live there.

Fly Under the radar when in the Philippines.

Peace Out.

GE.Thanks GE for your contribution! My GF told me that beside new uniforms she has to buy new books as well because they are using other books in the new school and they only teach Tagalog and not English (much to the chagrin of her daughter because she hardly speaks English and is very eager to communicate with me).
Furthermore she has to pay 50 PhP a day for lunch.

Meanwhile I've finally understood what she meant by 'have problem trasper'. She simply meant the transfer from the old school to the new school.

Hopefully the kids can go to their new school next week.

Just a heads-up for any guys who might be planning travel in or through Manila on November 18 & 19.

APEC will be held in Manila on those dates and with 21 country leaders in town Metro Manila will be in a state of semi-lockdown. All businesses have been requested to close on those dates.

Schools and Universities will close for 4 days on November 17,18, 19 and 20.

It may not be easy to get around the city on 18 and 19 if you have an advance schedule hoping to meet up with dating site conquests.

When the pope came, and when he flew to Tacloban, they shut down NAIA which is totally disregarding the Pope's request to minimize inconvenience to the common man.

As for APEC, I am booked to go on 20th, though as of now, there is no confirmation of the no-fly zone. I hope saner senses prevail, though since the US, Russian, China and Japanese Heads of State are due, the Filipinos may totally shut down NAIA, just for the fun of it.

Furthermore she has to pay 50 PhP a day for lunch.I happened to be talking to the wife about schools and lunches just a couple of weeks ago. In her school (Negros Or) kids either went home for lunch or brought a packed lunch. She didn't mention any lunch fee but I'll ask her tonight if I remember. The subject came around because we were talking about school hours elsewhere in the world, while her area was an early start, a late finish. And a long, 2 hour lunch. Said to be that long so that kids that had to walk home for lunch had time to do so, as only a few could afford trikes and living a couple of miles away from school and walking was common.

But could well be different elsewhere.

Is there enough talent here for 3 days before I go further afield. There are about 10 bars inside the EDSA complex. There might be an average of 25 girls / bar = 250 girls. I know that the bar Firehouse has 20 girls on stage at one time, with 20 more on break. Anyway, there is plenty of talent. Take your time, don't feel pressured to buy lady's drink. Get there about 8 pm. 6 months ago the barfine was 1950 pesos, the girl's fee was separate. Don't forget to talk with the girl re: menses, time, what's expected, etc. Some girls are ok with pics. Enjoy.

Mr. Hawaii has already answered the question.

I seem to remember a lot of the ladies seem to prefer short time.

Upon departure, I prefer not to take the taxis right in front. I just walk down the street a bit where you can get a taxi who will use the meter.

Some taxis turn off of Roxas Blvd. And take a short cut down a dark narrow street. Don't be alarmed, you are almost there!

Asking a taxi driver to take you to EDSA might not yield the desired result given that it is miles long! Then again, he might take one look at you and know exactly what you want.

Anyway, even if EDSA EC is not enough for 3 days, you have a couple of massage places near the airport and Manila Bay Cafe maybe 15 minutes away, depending on traffic. Not sure of picking up girls at Mall of Asia but it's a nice place to go for food and (non-girly) bars on the boardwalk.

*Full refund* ? You just never see that. Many cities in the US and Europe handle conferences at least the size of APEC every couple of months without closing down. The problem here is that the infrastructure is so far below any acceptable standard that the government doesn't want to embarrass itself by revealing how shoddy and inadequate it is. So, it will virtually close the city to impress 23 or so heads of state, costing the economy billions of pesos just to avoid demonstrating its colossal in competence. And what's even more unbelievable is that no one questions it. Can you imagine New York or Geneva closing for one or more of the unending streams of UN, eating a held in these cities?

This whole country is a reductio ad absurdem.

This was my afternoon yesterday. Grabbed a taxi and told him where I wanted to go and what side of the street I wanted to get out on. I wanted to get out on that side of the street as there was less chance of getting hit by a car or jeepney. Of course, he stops on the wrong side of the street after I told him again which side I wanted to get out on. Sure enough, I damn near got hit crossing the street.

After finishing my short business, I went for drink at a bar where all of the help knows me. Notwithstanding the fact that I've been going into that place for over 6 years, and the waitress has known me for at least 3 years, she brought me the wrong drink. She then took it back and 10 minutes later brought me the correct drink. When it was time to leave, no waitress was available to bring the bill. I had to chase one down, and then she had to chase the other waitress down to bring the bill. That was another 10 minutes.

So I went to a restobar for a decent dinner, and specifically told the waitress there what I wanted. She got half of the meal correct. I was getting to my pressure point, so I kept my mouth shut and ate, and won't eat there again.

So then I went to another bar and ordered a drink. They know me there too. I asked for a drink with a mixer MIXED in. She brought me the alcohol in one glass and a can of mixer. I told her I didn't want a can, just about 2 ounces mixed in. "We don't do mixes anymore. You have to buy the whole can. ".

I also used the Brickstone Hotel as a "Staging area".Very clever system. Maybe I have too much Scots blood in me to have considered renting two rooms at the same time, but it's really not all that much money and I'm sure you're right about the advantages.

Is there anyone here who understands (can read) the Kapampangan dialect and is willing to translate some sentences for me?
Or maybe someone who has a good understanding of Tagalog would also be able to help me out?

Please PM me.

There was utter stupidity 4 times in a row from 4 different filipinos. They're either stupid, don't care or both. But never call a Filipino stupid to their face. You insult their pinoy pride. Pride in what?LOL. At some point you should just accept the fact you probably don't belong here and should go back to wherever you are from. I'm pretty sure you will be at least equally miserable but you won't have Filipinos to blame for your unhappiness. BTW, I would not be buying any lotto tickets anytime soon. You seem to be on quite a losing streak.

Pride in what?I'm just guessing your attitude might have something to do with the service you receive. It doesn't matter how well they know you somewhere, if they don't like you. Do they know you as someone who is always complaining? Do they know you as someone who never has something nice to say? Do they know you as a lousy tipper?

When I go into a place I smile, I return greetings, I say "thanks" for everything. When I leave I tip a reasonable amount or more if service was good. I try to make the employees day a little better.

It works like magic. After a few visits people stop by to say Hello, I get good tables and better service, I might get asked to sample a new menu item or a new drink. Eventually, managers will start greeting me. If business is slow someone will sit and talk with me.

It works another way too. I get to hear about the bad customers and I learn not to get upset when service is slow, or something is messed up.

It is among other things a Cheap Charlie's paradise. Perhaps they did not prepare for their retirement. Some had their saddle bags unpacked by ex-wives. Some have alcohol and / or gambling addictions. They go through their same routine every day trying to spend as little as possible and somehow feel the natives here are partly to blame. They want to feel superior to somebody even if it's a waitress taking their order. The waitress sees him every day and puts up with his constant complaining. She sees his face glow red when the fork is placed on the wrong side of the plate.

When he does go back to his own country to visit once a year he enjoys the sanitized and organized place he once called home. That feeling lasts for about 72 hours. He's quickly reminded of the reasons why he left home. He is ignored by his own people. He is invisible to women. If he complains he is likely told to go fuck himself. It's time to go back to the place where they at least will put up with his bullshit. He yearns to bark at a taxi driver for making him waddle across the street. He feels entitled here even if he's only on a thousand peso per day budget. His negative posts on ISG about the locals are a form of therapy. He's hoping for others to chime in and complain as well but GE's internet connection is down and cannot immediately respond. Nothing much to do but order a Crown Royal and complain it's not a full shot. Another day in paradise.

I may add some get so lonely as to sign a Philippines marriage contract with a girl who works in Angeles. The consequence is that they get financially drained in building / buying a house for the wife (foreigners can only own condos), starting a (losing) business for the wife, supporting the wife's family & previous Filipino kids and / or a combination of all three. They then end up just about surviving financially, realizing the true legal meaning and consequence of the marriage contract and end up wandering around AC miserable and bitter. They do not dare partake of the only attraction in AC. Cheap pussy, because they cannot afford to and / or scared of the marriage contract real penalties for concubinism (using the Philippine law term). As often as not, such individuals will go into denial that they made mistakes. That is understandable!

Not really sure what the reference to me means, but I do agree that there are expats who live in a permanent state of smug resentment. I find that my anger, when it surfaces, is rarely directed at individuals--since I find most Filipinos to be among the nicest folks I've ever met--and more at governmental indifference, incompetence and greed. As to the "stupidity" post which elicited the above, the writer obviously doesn't understand the difference between the aggregate effects of poor education, poor training and perhaps a less than perfect comprehension of English and stupidity. I suspect that the writer of that post would be miserable wherever he lives.

Most of the retired expats I know don't fit within the genre described. But then, most of the retired expats I know don't live in Angeles. Rarely if ever go there, candy seem to have more engaging, richer lives than the lost should described in the post. Most have found ways of remaining productive and intellectually stimulated.

As for the third sentence: 1) is it a brain fart? 2) typo 3) Unusual auto edit by the ISG brain trust?

If I do a bit of rhyme and change "candy" to "and I" and then change "the lost should" to "those" it makes sense.

I'm a pretty fast touch typist and I find myself making similar mistakes. And auto correction sometimes makes the result especially weird. X.

GE.Well put GE. These 2 week tourists put up with the shit because they are only here for a short while. I think they would be singing a different tune if they were here long term. The fucked-up and ramshackle infrastructure, mindless bureaucracy, chaotic dysfunctionality and lack of coherent service orientation can drive one to distraction. And I'm only her a few month of the year now. How you have put up with it so long and retained some semblance of sanity is a mystery.

My comments below are NOT directed towards any previous post in particular so I am not sniping at any other member. Just giving my own perspective.

I am into my 19th continuous year living here now and I find it gets easier as time passes because I surround myself with (mostly) positive people (rarely disillusioned expats) and I never get too hung up on anything that I CANNOT CHANGE.

A comment was made by SB I think in an earlier post that the PI can be viewed as a paradise if you highlight the positives rather than the negatives.

For me, I choose to live in Ortigas Center on a foreign salary and in a condo that is:

In a flood-free and built up area;.

Never seems to have power failures;.

Has an effective water supply;.

Long-term live-in maid;.

Excellent polite helpful security;.

A well-appointed gym that others in my condo rarely use;.

Cheap, efficient maintenance service on call for any small problems;.

Adjacent to 4 large malls (Robinson's, Podium, Megamall, Shangri-la) within easy and safe walking distance thus avoiding the personal need for a car and consequent hassling with traffic;.

Sufficient quality restaurants within reach if ever I want to dine out and new ones opening all the time (I prefer to eat fresh, healthy food at home);.

Mid-way between Makati and QC; easy access to my work environments;.

Etc.

I can accept the incompetent service that I often get in most service outlets because I know the staff are doing the best they can despite receiving poor training and without really understanding what are acceptable levels of service that I see as efficient because they have never travelled or experienced them. I no longer use the MRT because it is dysfunctional but I can't change that, so I use taxis, and rarely have any hassles with them. I know the government is incompetent but that incompetence rarely impinges directly on me except when I have to use the roads and I get delayed by a few hours because of the hopeless lack of infrastructure. Again, I plan for that in my schedule and deal with it when it occurs.

Yes. I feel depressed for the future of the country and I wish it could be better for the locals who deserve better, but no amount of me cursing or ranting will change anything so I just accept it. I work with incredibly nice, polite people who are generally very competent in what they do.

I also get the opportunity to travel outside PI to other SE Asian countries quite often and back to Australia at least once each year, so I get a chance to benchmark the standards here against the equally crazy things I often see in other countries, and I am often refreshed by visiting places and restaurants etc where service is high quality and this restores my equilibrium.

I don't understand why anybody continues to live here or keeps coming back for short or even extended periods but then spends at least a few hours every day criticizing everything and anything about the country or letting the situation get to them. The acid in their stomachs must be boiling and bubbling.

I tend to emphasize the reasons why I stay, not dwell too long on why I should move somewhere else. I have that option to move if I want, but I choose not to.

One of the best comments ever on this topic.

Long ago I wrote that I didn't like the Philippines very much when I first started visiting here. The tales of woe and misery kind of got me down. Why was I choosing to hang out with so many troubled people? By changing my social groups and avoiding travel during daytime hours, especially during rush hour, i.e. the things I can change, things are far better. Often they are fabulous. Because life is so easy when something goes awry I catch myself making a bigger deal of it than is deserved. Of course no one has put bullets in my luggage.

About the only time I experience a larger hassle is when I insert myself into a friend's problem, such as her being jerked around by a bank. It's not due to my altruistic nature, it's because I don't want to be bouncing from one office to the next all over town to sort it. I just call over a manager, explain the problem, and almost always a more efficient solution is found.

If I wanted public tidiness, gov't efficiency, business professionalism and near perfect infrastructure I'd live in Switzerland or Singabore.

All of us choose to be here. Dissatisfied with your choice? Change your expectations or change your location.

Some foreigners contribute to perceptions among the native Philippine populace that lead to foreigners in general being subjected to shabby treatment. Recently, an elderly Caucasian expat was celebrating the birthday of his baby son. Noticing the child looked entirely like the mother from Samar without the slightest hint of European genes expressed, I enquired about this strange phenomenon. It was then revealed that the expat's Filipina wife cuckolded him with a Filipino who impregnated her. The foreigner being a sweet guy forgave her and accepted the bastard child as his own. In fact, he was so forgiving that the guy who fucked his wife was in attendance at the birthday party.

I suspect the fact that there is no easy way out of a Philippine marriage contract, especially when the foreigner has purchased house and lot in the wife's name, has a lot to do with this expat's resignation to lifelong cuckold status. From a practical point of view at his age it would probably be suicide to write off his nest egg invested in the purchase of the property and attempt to start over on his meager pension in the twilight of his life. However, what the Filipinas in attendance at the party took away from this is that foreigners are very sweet forgiving and accepting of being cuckolded and raising the offspring of the wife's pinoy boyfriend.

The Government of the Philippines is pulling out all stops to ensure that the APEC Conference runs smoothly, and doesn't mind inconveniencing anyone else. It would be wise to avoid traveling to or from Manila from immediately prior to through immediately after the conference. I'm not sure if non-Manila travel, such as flights routed through Cebu or Davao would be affected, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised if they were. Normally, I would have planned to be in Manila for business that week, but as it is, and given that we've got to close the office in any case, I'm going to stay put in Davao.

A while ago for those who remember I bought a box from GNC with 100 50 MG tabs of zinc. Now I have finished the box and I must say after a long life beeing aware of my sperm (in many ways) I do shoot bigger doses, I can shoot more often and it also seems the sperm is beeing whiter and looks more delicious (felt strange writing this).

I got snipped a while back maybe that has got something to do with it. Just saying as a selfmedicater (with minor advices from my inhouse doc who can not control me, he is laughing).

And from those strongly advice against doing so(i am very aware of what zinc does to ur body and how we get zinc into our system). I have done a lot of strange things in my life(high sensation seeker)ex drugs and still i havent been sick more than 2 times(flu)in m life. I have my inhouse doctor also say i should not selfmedicate but he accepts it as long as i consult him through sms(he is also a friend). He is blending a nice coctail sometimes makes ur dick last for 5-6days. I am not so brave to try that one yet, nor do i have the needs. Some information disseminated to Aussie expats today from the Oz govt website suggests that there is increasing evidence that groups in the Philippines are expanding their kidnapping intentions beyond the "normal" no-go zones in Southern Mindanao.

Now we all know that many travel advisories are often quite extreme and are designed to cover the Embassy in case anything goes pear-shaped but the current circumstances here are worthy of note:

Politicians need more cash for next year's elections and so the more unsavory of the species seek additional cash through fair means or foul.

The travel advisory suggests that these kidnap-for ransom groups have the capability to target locations frequented by tourists in southern Palawan, southern Negros or Siquijor..

In other words, they are now moving into Visaya areas.

Those of you travelling in Northern Mindanao and southern Visayas beach areas should take extra care. No doubt the US Embassy will provide similar advice.

Disdain for the Natives.

Disdain for the natives is created in part by the actions of the locals and in prejudices that foreigners harbor prior to arriving. Most foreigners come to Philippines with a mentality that they are somehow superior to the natives mentally, financially and sexually.

Most foreigners seem to think they are more intelligent than the natives which this is proven time and time again to not be the case. That is why these financial scams (planted young girl, planted illegal items) are perpetually perpetrated.

Financially foreigners throw money around boasting about their financial situation when there are some natives who wield considerable money and power and who frequent some of the same establishments as your average mongers such as the Greenbelt.

On this very board you see overweight, over 40 years of age men brag about their sexual prowess and how they show the girls "new" things that her native boyfriend / s did not show her. The truth of the matter is Filipino men for the most part are sex addicts (just like their female counterparts) and can fornicate with the best of them.

The natives cause disdain due to their own laziness, incompetence, simple minded, hostile, hypocritical and jealous behavior. They always seem to make a big deal whenever a foreigner is around and sometime harass the foreigner even when the foreigner is doing nothing to warrant attention.

The local men seem to always want to try to prove how tough they are especially when they know they they will be supported in numbers and by the law if any altercation occurs. Text message based threats will be sent by some jealous lover in defense of some bar girl you anal barebacked weeks ago.

Doing business transactions here one will see documents not processed years later after requesting they be processed. Documents lost or the foreigner blamed that he did not complete certain form. Bills for utilities created out of thin air. Dog shit being left in corridors of $200,000 condos. Taxi drivers charging exorbitant fees for short rides.

To sum it all up is there is enough blame to go around.

I can not count how many phil girls loving me, hehe. I am not delusional so I know this saying means probably as much or as little as "did you have your breakfast" or "have you eaten yet". On the other hand its kind of cute if you deal with it the right way and I have no idea if I do?? I would believe this is common to a lot of you fine gents out there but do we realy know what "I love you" means to a pinay? My guess would be its their way of sucking into us believing if I treat this guy with nice words he would be on my regular fuck schedual with additional compensation wishes Am I right? I've never responded nor told any pinay (ex my half half GF) I love them as I think this word itself call for much more commitment than a shortly fucksession.

I went to BI today to extend my 30 days. The trip there was nauseating and the same back. By that I mean the taxi rides, the stop and go traffic with slow swerving in and out of lanes and the bad clutching made me almost vomit a few times. Now I understand why some taxis smell like vomit! It is vomit!

I must say the BI has it together with a smooth operation and more than polite staffing. If you didn't come prepared with one 2" x 2" photo and one copy of your passport and entry stamped page, you can get it done right outside of the building expediously. I had brought a photo so only needed the copies made. I thought maybe an outrageous cost for on the location copying. 4 pesos! That is 2 pesos a copy sir. With my 30+ days millionaire budget I gave him 10 pesos and said keep the change! Yep I blew it for the next guys.

The whole process took less than 23 minutes and I was out the door with my extension less 4140 pesos in my pocket. Let's hope I dodge the bullet at the airport!

You got it in one, its all about nice words in return for being on the payroll and of course if you treat them well rather than the abuse they get from local guys. Your exp in phil girls is much higher than mine and like you I treat my girls with respect and dignity. So I guessing its all 50/50 and win win for these girls. Even if you did tell them I love you etc, I am sure it won't stop them from meeting other men. They don't understand commitment, not that us mongerers are seeking any commitment, just good GFE and fuck sessions.

Some excellent advice from RK.

GE.To follow up from RK's FR on APEC and NAIA this is on the road closures. It will be very messy, congested and horrible.

While for some APEC must be a popular talking shop, it will create huge congestion for the majority, and a 'no fly' zone. But then they closed Manila for 5 days for the Pope effectively and NAIA so what do we know.

http://www.philstar.com/headlines/2015/10/30/1516375/several-roads-be-closed-apec-meet

If going to / from the airport best add a few hours.

The next problem is that you arrive at the NAIA very early and what can you do to bide your time waiting for the departure? Not much as NAIA is no BKK, KL, Singapore airport (and won't be for a long time) LOL.

I guess many of the APEC leaders know how the situation are in phils. Phil gvmnt closing down everything will not change their view on phils even if they can travel relatively hazzlefree wherever they would go. A country in desperate needs of quality leadership the population ID guess s thinking this is cool rather than question all the shut downs. They don't know there own bests.

It wouldnot surprise me if Putin is giving his best regards to phils and its people bcs I believe they are provided with enough high end escort girls to take away all the preassure from what realy matters hehe. Mentioning of Putin is only one example as I've nothing unspoken to him. Maybe Malaysian gvmnt has? Well lets see. They, atleast, will have an easy breeze travelling back and forth to the airport. Its different beeing a world leader rather than just a common mongerer I agree though as in New York where they constantly have these big shots comming and going due to UN they maybe close down a street here and there but nothing realy viewable if your not so unlucky living close to the preimeters of the UN building. Why North Korea still can have a vote in UN is beyond my belief system coming up with all its bullshit. A couple of month ago I visited NK and fuck they are srange and stupid. This is another matter I've could written pages from.

Why .While PNoy has been bragging recently about the increase I FDI to the country he failed (conveniently) to say that Phil got way so little while others in Asia got huge amounts. In other words IMHO Phil got a miniscule amount of FDI while it neighbors received 10-20 times more investment (wonder why?

Good observation about NYC as I have been there and a road or 2 is closed but not the airport per se and not half the city etc. Has been a 'lockdown' I think once or twice but given Phil wants to try to let it guests think the county functions normally others will suffer (and stay silent about it).

I've been better places and this was not my style. Ofcourse I am not stupid so I knew beforehand mongering would be difficult in countries like this (maybe only a couple left). Well I been there so now US / South Korea can just bomb the shit when you have to starve in a country spending 90% of its BNP on military puroposes and have to eat grass then better kill them all. Everything in NK is artificial as we visited hospitals, amusmentparks, skiresorts etc. All establishment empty ofcourse. My biggest dissapointment was atthe skiresort where I viewed a Swissmade gondol.

In Hong Kong as well, it is the standard form of greeting in Cantonese. For those who spend their lives eating, they probably do not realize that past Asian communities considered a meal a lucky event. A better way to check if a girl loves you is to monitor her behavior regarding money and if she is texting her clients / BFs on her phone.

A few weeks ago there were postings about the scam at NAIA airport where security staff, police were putting bullets and or white powder into travelers' bags, asking for money, if not paid arresting the innocent victim. Apparently the situation has got serious since that time with the situation spinning out of control. Below is part of an article out of the Manila Bulletin of yesterday. As posting of email addresses is not allowed on this forum, I would suggest you read the full article on the Manila Bulletin of 31 October.

Uproar over NAIA bullet mess widens.

October 31,2015.

Share17 Tweet12 Share3 Email4 Share103.

By Mario be. Casayuran, Hannah L. Torregoza, and Ariel Fernandez.

Despite public outcry over "tanim-bala" (bullet-planting) cases at the country's premiere airport, there seems to be no end to this mess that is already scaring tourists and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Yesterday, it was reported that two more passengers set to leave the country were arrested after the discovery of bullets in their luggage bags at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 (NAIA-2).

With the widening uproar over the bullet mess, Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph G. Recto called on Malacañang to straighten out the mess by setting up a "Presidential Action and Complaint Desk" at the country's premier gateway to serve as a "one-stop, on-the-spot troubleshooting center" for OFWs and other travellers.

But Presidential Communications Operations Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. Said the government has already installed public assistance desks at airports to address any concerns of OFWs and other passengers. He assured that government employees are there to serve the public and address their needs.

Likewise, calls for a congressional inquiry in the Senate continue to gain support, with presidential aspirant Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago being the latest to join fellow lawmakers in calling for an investigation into the persistent reports of tanim-bala cases.

Santiago said these reports of unsuspecting travelers to the Philippines, including the country's migrant workers, falling prey to the modus operandi "underline inaction on the part of government. ".

"The reports highlight how corruption defeats the purpose of law enforcement. Second, they raise a legitimate question on the implementation of the law on the illegal possession of ammunition. Finally, they underline inaction on the part of government," Santiago said.

NEW VICTIMS.

The latest victims of the bullet mess are Pancho M. Salgado, 65, of Taytay, Rizal; and Chris Valerie Panopio Mendoza, Sampaloc Manila. Salgado allegedly yielded an armalite bullet while entering NAIA-2, while a. 45 caliber bullet was confiscated from the luggage bag of Mendoza.

Salgado was bound for Osaka, Japan, while Mendoza was supposed to leave for Dubai, United Arab Emirates, when they were held by airport authorities. Both are currently detained at the PNP Aviation Security Group detention center while awaiting bail.

Last Thursday, Revelina A. Combis, 68, of South Poblacion, Dipaculao, Aurora, was prevented from boarding Philippine Airlines flight PR 2041 bound for Caticlan, Boracay, after members of the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) found a. 45 caliber bullet allegedly inside her hand carry bag at the NAIA-3.

Combis has been charged before the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office with violation of Section 28 of are. A. 10591, the "Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. ".

A Japanese, who was earlier arrested after airport police found two. 44 caliber bullets in his luggage bag, has been released after posting a P40,000 bail.

However, he needs to work out for the extension of his visa before the Bureau of Immigration as he needs to stay longer in the country to face his case filed before the Pasay City Regional Trial Court. His first hearing has been set for November 16.

With the problems facing tourists and OFWs, Recto said the presidential desk could serve as "a place where travellers can lodge complaints for bad service and recommend commendations for good ones. ".

So Skogis, no chance of taking a 'tool box' to North Korea. Maybe they see vibes etc as some sort of imperialist trick to educate their ladies into the more 'conservative' side of western life?HM great idea but you could head for a rough ride through customs and other sucurity spots before entering the fat ones republic. Atleast I believe you had to leave them behind and fetch them again on your way out of the country. Nothing I could establish as a fact but I heard rumours the fat one (great leader) gets flown in girls from some african countries (not the most developed and democratic ones but still) so he could arrange his sexparties (if he has them or not I don't know).
Other members of my group where taken in for questioning as they managed to sneek in some spywear(small cameras etc). The tourguides/guards found out but they were pretty much fine about it. U know the great leader likes only to view the great stuff like the empty amusementpark, the empty high so hospital(only 2/3 rooms where equipped but still), ski resort etc etc. The only thing i refused to do was to bow infront of the great leaders picture and statues(had to draw the line somewhere). Others than that finding oneself beeing as grey as possible in the middle of the group suited me prefectly.

Hello folks.

Please help out a first timer to Philippines. I have contributed ample to forums in Mexico and Caribbean. Please guide me for my first trip last week of Nov.

I plan on being there Nov 21 to 30. I am not sure how to split my time between Angeles City and any other destination. Can you help me pick which city to visit in addition to Angeles city?

Here are my criteria:

1) I am looking to spend $60 or so max per session with a girl.

2) I do 1 or 2 sessions per day.

3) Not a crazy drinker.

4) Hotel budget max $60 per night. Maybe higher if quality of girls is excellent.

5) I am 40 - living in US.

6) I look forward to threesomes and BBBJ hopefully with CIM too.

7) Bonus points for activities. Snorkel / scuba, safe place to run 5-10 miles, etc. Day activites, trips, etc. Quite secondary to quality of girls though.

I RTFF but could not compare the cities.

In addition any recommendations for BJ bars where quality of BJ is excellent?

Thanks folks.

Just further to my earlier posts about avoiding NAIA during APEC, here is advice about road closures etc.

Malate / Ermita will be affected as will MOA, so my advice is to avoid Manila all together.

If you must visit between November 16 - 20, take note of this:

Now in line with the general discussion on NAIA and its reputation this is from the papers today.

Etihad, major carrier is diverted to Clark. And Etihad came out very fast an told the reasons. Am sure there will be spin on this but I trust Etihad as I know some of the pilot and they don't like flying to Manila as can never trust when they can land. I have left Dubai early on Emirates, arrived (n the air that) is 20 minutes before we are supposed to, yet got to the gate 30 minutes AFTER the scheduled arrival time. Many unhappy people and the captain was very honest.

So imagine this and APEC. Total chaos but am sure the authorities will tell everyone the carrier was at fault LOL.

Thanks folks. You have quite a list. Anyway,

1. $60 is roughly 2400 pesos. It will surely get you ST in Manila. In Angeles LT is between 2000-3000 pesos. LT does not mean they will stay and fuck you all night. Some might.

Depending on what type of girls you are looking for cost will be all over the place. You can read the forum and get good ideas of where to find girls, how much they cost, hotels prices etc.

2. ST can be had for 1500 in Manila. In AC bars it is strictly taking the girl out of the bar unless you meet some freelancers. Once again read the forum.

3. Drinks generally cost 100 pesos to 300 pesos both Manila and AC. If you buy a girl a drink cost approx 300 pesos.

4. For $60 you can find some hotels with breakfast for two. In AC you can find cheaper hotels.

5. It does not matter if you 99 years old and can still fuck. In Phi normal as well as prostitutes do not care about the age. However they do want you to be clean, nicely dressed and behave friendly and treat girls nice.

6. All your sexual preferences can be discussed with willing girls including the cost both in Manila and AC. It is highly unlikely girls will act like lesbians. However money talks in requesting special favors.

7. All other leisure activities can be had but they are far from Manila or AC. Read the forum.

There are BJ bars in AC. I have never tried it because I like the girls I stay with to give BJ. Not sure how good BJ bar girls are.

SNIP

There are BJ bars in AC. I have never tried it because I like the girls I stay with to give BJ. Not sure how good BJ bar girls are.BJ bars in AC are located on Raymond St (near Rosario St) and Santos St (between Fields Ave / Kokomo's bar, and Johnny Street). These bars specialize in short-time BJ's. You can take the girl in a back room for a short BJ session, or to your room for 2 hours. Most of these girls will be giving 2-4 (or more) BJ's in their 12-hour shift each day, so they get fairly good at it. Keep in mind you are taking a girl who might have CIM'd a gent 5 minutes before you arrived at the bar. Mostly these girls aren't very attractive, but I have found a number of gems there over the years, real lookers on occasion (and posted in the PG).

Clive, when Sammon is talking 1500 for ST in Manila, he is talking freelancers, to be found in bars like LA Caf or G-Point in Malate, or Burgos street girls in Makati. There are bunches of these types of girls, and if you want extra goodies, money talks. BBBJ is the norm in SE Asia (unlike Mex / Carrib / central Am, where cover is the norm). You will not find that low price point in gogo bars in Manila (where girls dance on stage in negligee or bathing suit; & there is a barfine p1500-4000 + girl tip same amount).

Sammon has lots of good info as usual. I have recently been to Subic (and AC) and highly recommend. I actually like Subic better than AC. See my report in AC thread. Bus from Subic back to Ermita, Manila is 1100 P. Private car from AC to Subic 3000 P, bus is must cheaper. Have fun. [QUOTE=MS Clive;.

Thanks folks.First of all 9 days isn't that much time coming from the USA but it is what it is.

You have 4 monger destinations near Manila; AC, Manila, Subic, and Puerta Galera. Subic is not a beach town in a classic sense but does have a laid back vibe and is an hour away from AC so you would feel a difference in locales but not that much. You could do those 2 w / out loosing time to travel. The talent in Subic is cheaper and considerably lower tier ladies, some good ones mixed in though but you have to search them out, FLs not much there. I was there last February and I liked it because it is a different scene, considerably cheaper than AC.

Or you can check out Puerta Galera, a 2 hour bus / 2 hour boat ride from AC. PG is a very nice island / seaside town that is a world away from the normal Philippines scene. Very picturesque w / diving / snorkeling / cheap boat rental / tons of islands w / cool little beaches. It also has a small go go scene w / nice talent, the ladies there were low miles, innocent and friendly and many stay LT.

Lastly Manila which is an ugly poverty stricken city. I was there 3 weeks ago and stayed in Makati (upscale area), I focused on Burgos St where the go go girls will set you back anywhere from $60 to $130. At night the street comes alive w / all sorts of action, you can find nice FLs on the street for (on average) 2000 p which is in your price range. Makati is quite different from AC and the ladies are prettier and will not discriminate like some do in AC or PG. Travel time is 90 minutes by car (2700 p) or bus 2 hours (150 p), total cost in bus is approx. 450 p. Trike to AC bus station (Dau) 100 p, bus 150 p, taxi to hotel under 150 p. Taking the bus is easy and saves you $50 so what's not to like.

So knowing what I know about these 4 places is I would go to AC 5 / 6 days, the last few days if you want easy and cheap, Subic, if you want beautiful island w women then Puerta Galera (Manila prices 3000 p go go girls), or Makati where there are prettier ladies in the bars but also a higher price tag. The bar I took from had very nice quality 2600 to bar, 3000 p to lady for short time. There are other options in Makati like FLs on Burgos, Havana Cafe (FLs) LA Cafe Lower tier FLs, some keepers in there I'm told. There is plenty of options in Makati but generally for bar guys like me more pricey.

All prices have gone up from February to now in AC, Subic, Manila. Also keep in mind go go girls are medically check each week. If there is a problem you can find the lady at the bar you took her from. And lastly bar girls are generally prettier than their FL counterparts. That is my opinion and there are exceptions but I like pulling from the bars.

Maybe AC, Subic and spend last night in Makati w / short trip to airport. Then you will have experienced 3 different PI locales. Good luck.

I'll post a few pics of my AC and Makati ladies in the PG.

This has actually gotten worse, there is a story online from a person inside the operation saying they target 20 people a day at least and demand 30,000 as the standard or "go to jail".

A young guy from the US, building churches in Palawan was nabbed going to Boracay with his parents, he was told he could pay his way out but he told the authorities to send him to jail instead.

Hopefully the upcoming APEC thing and the news will get them to lay low. I'd like to say stop but this is the place with brand new terminals yet pushes 75% of it's visitors through the worst airport terminal in the region.

As maybe WR remember I was talking about travelling down to Cebu to have a couple of nights stay there as I know some very nice clubbing chicks (I've even flew one in to Makati at one stage some time ago). As it happened I got hold of some nice gems as usual also here in Makati and as travelling in phils only makes me in bad mood I had to make decission and the decission was to cancell my Mariott hotel in Cebu and the Phillipine Airline flights taking me there. Easier said than done.

I did book the room a tad smaller than the presidential suite at Mariott and it was fully refundable if I cancelled 24 hrs before arrival time (which I did). It was close to 30000 p for 2 nights. The PR flight was the most and refundable flex biz ticket at almost 18000 p. Refundable in my life and in any other western airline is you can only manage your own booking and you cancell or rebook. Not so easy with Phil air.

I called Mariott well before 24 hrs of my checkin time and it was all a hazzle. Lastly the girl I spoke to understood I wanted to cancell and she would send me a confirmation e mail on my cancellation. Upon today no cancellation e mail has been recieved. I guess they probably wait to send it until after my designated chack in time so theycan atleast charge me for 1 night stay. Lets see I don't bother to go through any more hazzle concerning this and will at a later stage see what kind of ammount is deducted from my CC and I rather complain to Mariotts intl booking phone at a later stage (I am sorry I did not call them first place as they have american booking lines handled by phil callcenter ofcourse).

Phil Air was another story. In the rules from my fully refundable ticket I read I was able to have full refund ex 1000 no show fee each leg. Thats fair but nothing I know of from the western world. If I by the most expensive tickets with ie Emirates I can get refunded my money in total without any hazzle almost same day I make the cancellation. And I just have to go to "Manage mybooking" to do so. Phil air has also a "Manage my booking" page but with no option of cancell flight ofcourse. I call their designated onlinebooking number and spoke to a girl. She did not understood the word of "cancell" atleast she pretended she did not. She wanted me to rebook. I told her I don't want a rebook, I want refunded my money. This is why people book most expensive ticket to have option to cancell if plans are changed. Then after I ranted a while how shitty this airline is and why they had to make everything so difficult she asked me to send a confirmation e mail of my booking to "onlinebooking-refund" etc where I had to write why I wanted a refund and the reason for my confirmation. Foam was coming from my mouth and I just said ok as more rant was not called for.

Actually I recieved an e mail from them stating my refund and cancellation was processing. It will take 30 days according to this e mail and if nothing happened by then I got a new e mail I could respond to (after 30 days).

As we have had earlier rants about philippino airlines it all stands clear to me now: they don't want to refund any money as this is with intl creditcompanies today an easy breeze. This is just venting as yesterday I was angry enough, not bcs of maybe money lost, but all the hazzle you have to go through to soul the smallest issues in this country.

With airport police and security effectively an active crime syndicate, travel security and safety is also severely compromised. I am surprised that US airlines are still flying to an airport with such criminal activity associated with flight security.

I am surprised that US airlines are still flying to an airport with such criminal activity associated with flight security.I will check this out this Thursday as I am travelling to somewhere with my cabincrewgirl. I allready talked to her and both of us are aware of the scams. We can according to her use the crewline. Even so since it is 10-20 a day this is happening to, chances is slim it will happen to me. In a worst case scenario I will just pay up and move on. Many will probably just chocke me saying so but I am not spending one single minute in a phil shit hole prison and I rather support corruption to avoid this (I guess no matter what people would say behind a keyboard they will do exactly the same, well maybe they who have a lot of time on their hands will view it differently but I don't have time for this kind of shit). I knew by coming here I walked in to a corrupted country and as I've been to even worse country than phils I am ready to pay up there and then. I have what you can call corruption money on me or as the corrupted police in Caracas once told me as I did not have cash and they stopped me for jail walking: "banko automatico directo (or sth)(they knew where the ATM was). I had to hand over a small bundle of bolivares.

The Philippines has been a shit hole since its creation and nothing will change that. Murder, theft, kidnapping, corrupt officials, scams etc. Nothing will stop mongers / tourist from visiting the shit. Like flies.

Good to meet you and next we may get more time if our 'diaries' don't clash too much.

Emirates can do a refund of $3000+ in about 10 days, PAL just don't want to IMHO ad make it frustrating. Hope you get the Marriott refund otherwise I can recommend a needy 'charity' that needs a roof for 2 days!!

Continue to follow reports on bullet scam at NAIA.

Philippines reports that police have recorded 30 alleged cases of the scam, known locally as "tanim bala," between January and November 2015.

Manila International Airport Authority says there have been five alleged cases in the past two weeks.

Government officials say the matter is being investigated, but presidential spokesman Herminio Coloma Jr. Insists the cases are isolated.

The new propaganda now is that the bullets scam is a Filipino tradition used to scare off ghosts. LOL.

MANILA, Philippines – The bullet-planting scam at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has just taken on a whole new level of stupidity – on Tuesday alone, four people, including an elderly Fil-Am passenger, were taken into custody for having bullets in their luggage.

Authorities said 'not one of them disputed the claim brought against them,' however stories of 'he said – she said' seem to making their way around the halls of NAIA as of lately.

The only person to dispute the fact was the 77-year-old Santiago Peñaflorida's daughter, who claimed in disbelief that the ammunition found her in father's bag had to be planted.

Santiago Peñaflorida was said to be headed to LOS Angeles, California aboard Philippine Airlines.

He was stopped at 6 pm At the initial security screening checkpoint at NAIA terminal #2 after security personnel saw the bullet on X-ray monitors inside of his locked backpack.

His daughter went 'ballistic' and accused security personnel of planting the ammunition in his bag – security officials refused to open the backpack and waited until members of the media arrived.

Peñaflorida calmly stated that they had already departed from the Iloilo Airport before landing at NAIA where no bullet was detected or discovered.

Once the duo decided to open the backpack themselves, a. 32 cal. Bullet was discovered inside – Peñaflorida, who conceded, was invited for questioning to the Avsegroup-NCR headquarters.

Earlier that same day, 27-year-old Marilou Rose Espinola, who was bound for Bacolod at NAIA terminal #3 was also discovered to have a bullet in her luggage.

The bullet was discovered at 9:30 am In her hand-carry-on bag after it went through X-ray at the initial security screening checkpoint at the departure area at gate #2.

Espinola told security officials that she had brought the bullet with her after discovering it in Quezon City, she said she did not know that it was a prohibited item at the airport.

At 2 pm On Tuesday, 33-year-old Rowena Otic of Nueva Ecija was sending off her one sibling bound for Dubai when she was intercepted at NAIA terminal #3 for carrying two. 38 cal. Bullets, each one placed in a separate red pouch.

Otic told reports that she always carries the bullets as her protections against hexes or any other forms of danger – she admitted that she forgot to take them out of handbag, saying "I also thought only passengers were inspected and arrested for having bullets," – the bullets, she added, were given to her by a healer.

Two hours later, at approximately 4 pm 48-year-old Milagrosa Candiente was apprehended at gate #6 in terminal #3 after a 9 mm cal. Bullet was discovered in her wallet.

Once again the bullet was encased in a red pouch – she admitted that she knew the bullets were banned from the airport but she forgot to take her 'charm' out of her bag.

Cadiente said she was at NAIA to pickup her employer who was returning from Japan – she called on lawmakers to amend the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act and consider Filipino's observance to tradition.

"It is just stupid to put people in jail for having one or two bullets. They have to understand that Filipinos carry them as charms," she angrily noted.

All four suspects are set to be charged with illegal possession of ammunition under the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act in the Pasay City prosecutor's office.

On a side note, several social media chat sites have noted the Filipino tradition of carrying bullets when traveling, or for the sacred use of warding off evil – today's arrests show that two of the four taken into custody were in fact carrying the bullets for that very noted reason.

Oddly, media in the Philippines tends to skirt the issue of carrying bullets for the use of warding off spirits and hoaxes which are heavily embedded in Filipino tradition.

The bullet scam made the Fox News program "On The Record" last night. I bet this thing dies now. I remember a few years ago there was a scam at the Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) where travelers were accused of shoplifting and detained by corrupt airport security officers until a bribe was paid. A couple of tourists refused to pay the bribe and were carted off to jail. News of the scam finally hit the international media and that was the end of it. It is very embarrassing for the powers that be to have this kind of shit go on in in their international airports.

The new propaganda now is that the bullets scam is a Filipino tradition used to scare off ghosts. LOL.
Having been haunted by ghosts on numerous occasions I want to inform the public that bullets offer no protection whatsoever. When thrown the bullets pass right through the spooks, causing them no harm.

Try hard not to be scared. Fear can only increase the ghost's energy. Instead, act calm. You are in the world of the living and a ghost has no power here, which means it can do you no harm. Panicking will only make things worse.

In most cases, these ghosts do not know that they are dead or perhaps need your help. Talking to them to let them know they are dead may help them move on to the next life. If you are brave enough, ask the spirit what he or she wants from you. You may be able to help.

Many ghosts leave when told to, but if this does not work for you, then you will have to resort to other methods. Dark entities cannot cross a line of salt because it repels negative energy. So, before boarding pour a line of salt completely around the aeroplane. Your flight will now be ghost free. Happy travels!

It bears repeating that pinoy are still largely superstitious, not unlike central americans (ala the chupacabra). Just hang around anywhere in phils on Dec. 30 and 31, to listen to all the noise-making to drive out the evil spirits.

A story, and possibly a repeat from a few years ago. While waiting in line at McDonalds (Cebu, Jones St, near the Fuente circle) with my date early one morning for breakfast, a young man of 20-ish and his mother were in line in front of us. A mild argument broke out. The mother accused her son of having his mates over to the home while she was gone, and they broke something (I'm not sure what got broken). He denied it. He denied having his mates over to the house, he denied breaking the item. She wasn't buying it. She said (my date would later translate) something akin to: "I left. You are home alone. I come home. Its broken. You broke it or your friends broke it. Which one?" That's a deft bit of logic, until he claimed evil spirits lived in the house, and the evil spirits broke the item. THEN she bought into his notion.

Loud noises. Bullets. Evil spirits. Jesus de Christo.

The scammers might lay low for a little while but I don't think this will be the end of them. After all they are used to a certain level of income by now and probably have budgeted it like a steady stream of income. They won't go away easily. I imagine they will come up with a different contraband item soon.

What is surprising or not so surprising anymore is the slow or lack of any government (police) action to this. This will drop tourists a good 15-20%. Maybe a lost of billions of pesos in the economy. I guess no one thinks that far ahead.

A simple change in policy to simply confiscate the bullet would put the scammers out of business.

If any of you folks need some stuff from the homeland of the US of A let me know.Going to AC to enjoy the monger scene is elementary school level mongering. It is very easy to find what you want and very safe on Fields Ave.

Like I said before, hit AC, then a couple of days in Subic, and the last night in Makati. Then you'll see 3 sides of the PI and very little travel downtime.

Pacific Breeze Hotel is a solid 3 star (very friendly) very close to Fields Ave. Buy a seat in the van through the hotel. The bus to Subic will pick you up at the PB. There are a couple hotels I recommend in Subic, iCove (3*) and Harley's (2 1/2*) both inexpensive. Harley's is in a better spot (to me) over looking Subic Bay. Icove is new and modern and on the strip w / all the bars.

A couple days later take the same van to Manila and stay in Makati, I stay at St Giles Hotel (3 1/2*) a short walk to the bars on Burgos St. Burgos St is a lot of fun and very different than anything else you will experience on this itinerary.

This is elementary mongering, very easy for a first timer.

A favorite Subic honey from last February.

The syndicate appears to thread through porters, immigration, security staff and police, which means that the main airport of Manila is a real snake pit. Will the snakes stay low, maybe, for sure they will probably merely change their mode of operation. This kind of thing is characteristic of a failed state. If the airport is a snake pit, consider what goes on elsewhere. Ask any Filipino and they will tell you. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL if you must absolutely, vitally travel to Philippines.

Came thru T1 departures the other day and saw the usual thousands of OFWs on their way out. Everyone was aware of the bullet scam but most if not all had luggage and backpacks with exposed pockets, including myself. I saw a few bags Saran wrapped but brilliantly a lot of others used duct tape to secure around the bag. More importantly they duct taped over the zippers on the exposed vulnerable pockets! Haha I think I will get some bright yellow or pink duct tape next time out.

Now I fully understand why United Airlines conducts a secondary physical bag, shoe and personal screening at the gate and then keep you coralled in until boarding. Can't trust the T1 security procedures.

And when the hapless passenger thinks all is doomed, a tri lingual fellow who claims to have god connections with the police appears and he " negotitates " your release. A well thought out and well practiced scam.Isn't it allways nice with good samaritan helpers? Much like me visiting Pattaya a few weeks back (a place I never go to by the way, hehe) and was driving moto in a one way street (wrong direction). Rightfully so I was stopped by a policeofficer who took my lincense and wrote me up a ticket of 400 bhts. Since I was reluctant walking all the way over to the ticketoffice (this was far from soi 9) and I had an upcomming session waiting I wanted this to go away as quickly as possible. Another bikedriver catches my drift, pops in and bring me around a nearby corner. I pay 500 bht in cash to him, the policeofficer throws away my ticket, I get my license back and drove away (this time without helmet as I forgot to put it on).

I posted this in the Angeles thread, but felt it should also go in the General thread as I suspect this airport scam is happening at all Philippines international airports.

For your information, the Philippine Star newspaper today carried an article about security staff at Clark International Airport stopping anyone at security carrying more than Peso 10,000 out of the country. They will say it is illegal and will have to confiscate the money with lots of documentation. Or are willing to forget the whole thing if they get 50% of the amount involved so one can catch the flight.

On departure, this Peso 10,000 rule is very poorly advertised. Be aware of this Clark scam. Probably happening everywhere else in the Philippines. Every government regulation is twisted into a scam.

This behavior is the mirror image of Philippines traffic police behavior who want cash for not writing a ticket and sending one's drivers license to the Traffic authority. Using the later route, there is of course, a fast processing for a 'cash consideration'!

Hmm. Koreans do seem popular here. I realized anglos are pretty much out after seeing two tall handsome German backpackers with drab looking girls, perhaps older than them as well. Minutes later saw a chubby Korean with a pretty nice Filapina behind him (lived in China for 5 years in a city with a large Korean population so I can kinda spot them now).

I am popular here and that's all I can say. Koreans may be popular too. I don't give a shit in p4 p girls though. Just saying. Not to offend the offended ones not enjoying people to have a relatively successful mongerlife I meant ofcourse "popular" and not popular. It was all in a humoristic twist ofcourse (to late to edit though). All the time we know where we are, in this dysfunctional country called the phils, the word "popular" I would guess is a relative term. I do have a, almost, hazzlefree mongerlife. In that aspect I feel popular as I read here and in other foras that people have great problems making this life work and it comes with loads of hazzle too. My latest trip (ending today and 46 girls later in a sweet 9 day mongerspree) I do have problems to see any koreans beeing, well, maybe more popular, but not so effective as me, hehe. Its all about great prepwork and timings (the old scrapbook and a pen works nice to keep track of a busy sched) No high tech items needed realy but ofcourse a phone with Smart prepaid comes in handy dealing with pinays.

I must say though, even if I don't trust pinays much, that my girls have very little to non experience with foreign people. Koreans and Korea is ofcourse something / someone theyve heard about but from there to call them favorites would be a bit harsh I guess (not saying norwegians are favorites either). I work in a non proffesional environment when it comes to girls (a few here and there slips under my radar I am sure but still) and to girls like this I guess koreans are as popular or the oposite as other nathionalities. In a bar environment I guess things might differ quite a lot, I would not know. I am sure I could keep up with the koreans also here if I wanted to explore this side of the mongerbiz.

Sometimes mongering is also about quite things down and after 9 days of heavy Makati mongering it was time to cool off with a special someone in Cebu(will write it in the misplaced Cebu thread, my subjective meaning)..

My latest trip (ending today and 46 girls later in a sweet 9 day mongerspree) .Ok Skogis I have to ask that's more than 5 girls per day. What are the logistics of that? Do you penetrate them all? Is there a waiting room or couch where they get warmed up? You are Norways' modern day Wilt Chamberlain. How close are you to 20,000? Heheh.

You are Norways' modern day Wilt Chamberlain. How close are you to 20,000? Heheh.Hehe I would not know the exact answer but this has become to me some sort of athleete event. Great exercise in doing this many girls and yes I penetrated all of them but one (felt to tired). Most days between 6 to 8 girls and I even did manage to have a restingday squeezed in for some baby monetoring. I feel pretty effective and the girls come and go around the clock depending on how their scheduel looks like. A normal day would look like this: 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm, 5 pm, 7 pm, 9 pm and an overnighter with additional foodsupplies. Somedays even an extra at 11 pm and then an overnighter at 1 am or sth. Callcentergirls arrives mostly after nightshift around 6/7 am so the overnighter has to be gone by then.

I have been experimenting this for a few years now and I find that "my" girls are reliable as most of them seem to attend education at some levels or got jobs. Girls like this know more the meaning of time and even if I was surprised the first time it happened some girls even clock themself in using various apps and maps keeping me informed along their travelling ways. I work quite hard upfront to these girls and adress quite strongly the essense of time and its importance. Works fine by now. Still the main reason them beeing on time I would believe is bcs I choose girls living in or close to Makati boarders so the travellingtime isn't that horrendous for most of them and ofcourse it is easier to be on time.

Very few girls failes but they who do I cancell session and reorganizes my sched as I have put in a lot of subs who are good to go quickly and lives very close. Even had one living in the Makatis "twin towers" which is an easy walk of 8 minutes over to the Ascott. Not the most beautiful but she is a substitute girl and are located conveniently close.

That beeing said, as my last trips have been very high in intensity, I have pretty much maxed out the system. Its been a personal goal to me to see if this is doable or not. Maybe a childish goal but remember even if I am 42 I am only 20 something in my head so bear with me guys I don't have the rockstarfeeling leaving this place as I feel dirty, spend and drained. The system in my world is, as I said, maxed out now. This is it and I will not have this extended scheduel on future trips. The only thing this is good for is the kardio and truth be told I feel in better shape leaving than arriving. Fucking gives great energy to me and unlike some of you guys (we are different) I can not stand operating with these girls more than an hour or two. Longer stays feel to much like relationship and I want to avoid that on all costs. I don't delude the girls into thinking I am a relationship guy but I am not all that honest to them either. Many of these girls looks for relationship and I use my normal twist which can sound something like this: "sweetie as much as I would love spend time with you this oir first meeting you know I have only limited time in town. I am busy businessman (at some levels not untrue) and will leave right away after our meet (here ofcourse new girls arriving all along so that's why I say like this). We have to be effective in our first date so you just come straight outside entrance Glorietta4/ Ascott as it is public and safe both for you and me. I will pick you up and we have small inhouse party my room. I buy whatever you like to drink (normaly it ends with Tanduay and they zip maybe a quarter of a btl). Please don't be late" Most of the girls accept this and some ofcourse ask to bring a friend here and there but then I am strict and tell them no as we meet public place and no danger will come to you outside where I live in Makati. They are fine with this. Duos and trios can ofcourse bring friends as this is the hole purpose.

When girls arrives or agrees to meet outside and I get them inside my room I can not until this day remember fucking not taking place. Maybe it has and I do remember I have stood my grounds for various reason (last trip bcs I was worn out). As I sometimes party hard and collapses I also miss out on a few dates with additional 100's of texts / calls. I feel bad about that, hehe.

So I do not need a waitingroom. The outside of Ascott is waitingroom big enough to atleast have 3 girls waiting for me atthe same time without knowing of eachother ofcourse. Through some sleezy operations I manage to get girls in and out without beeing spotted. This is most due to my heavy warning about timing so most of the girls these days arrives early (not good but hard to get everything in perfect order).

60 k in 100's? That's a thick wad of 100's. Are not 1 k bills better as it can fit in ones pocket easier with no security issues. LOL Just saying.

PC out. It's not one wad. Each wad is P10,000.

We high rollers need lots of cash. Change is important, never get stuck with them saying "I aint got change". The 60 is with me now back home, minus some. A nice stack of change. Got it all from one long term friend who is cashier in a healthy business, lots of cash coming into her place, on a daily basis. No need for money changers, she matches the best rate in that town on that day. And yes I have counted odd wads to see if there is a hundred or two missing in the wads, but nothing missing. When I can get my hands on a nice bundle of change, and that is when I am in that particular town / city, I get it, grab it. P1000 are no good with taxi drivers, paying for one drink etc. Change, its all about change. I don't carry it around with me, so P1000 denominations not necessary.

Get ahead with your change and transactions go smoothly. No "I haven't got change" coming back at ya. Yeh, I do take a few five hundreds and one thousand denominations when I go out partying at night. I expect my bill to be 2/3000 at some places. Do not use P100's for that.

We high rollers know a thing or two, LOL.

In addition to change I am hedging against currency downgrade. My currency got me 42 last year 32 this year and predicted by all experts to get me 25 or so next year. So got a bundle already at 32 for next year. Little bit of saving there, if the experts are right. Helps.

As I am a high roller, didn't mention those smaller denominations before, LOL.

Dropping those tips creates good kharma. Came back to me in AC when I left a bag with $2,500 valuable item inside. Trike driver returned bag and contents to me. Had him few times before. Good vibes from me, in the past, got that bag back to me, I reckon. Miracle a trike driver would be so honest. I expect my bill to be 2/3000 at some places. Do not use P100's for that.Nothing wrong with the high roller (or partying) style. But note the difference in styles, both of which seem to work among vets. When I'm planning to barfine (say, AC), I typically walk out the door of my hotel in the evening with enough for a barfine, plus 500-1000 more. When I'm not planning to barfine, I rarely take more than 1000 P with me on a night out. Its quite the opposite of high rolling. If you were to chance upon me on the street in Burgos, Malate, or Mango Square, there's a good chance that I'd have well under 1000 in my pocket (however, I keep an debit / credit card with me, both for ATM if needed, and for restaurants that accept CC). While I buy things for my chicas, its usually after the deed, and includes Jolibee, not Lady Drinks. As I don't hang in bars (unless there's a band to my liking) and I don't drink much alcohol (1-3 for an entire evening), there's not much to spend money on. All chica transactions take place in the room where the money is.

Typically when I depart phils, I have spent myself down to my last 3000 or so, which I will use next time I arrive for taxi to my hotel in Manila.

This also highlights one of the risks of becoming an expat monger on a fixed income in the Philippines. The Aussie dollar has taken a brutal flogging from the peso. A fall from P42 to P32 to the AUD means an effective increase in prices by about 24% for Aussie mongers in one year; a further decline to P25 to the AUD would mean an increase in prices by approximately 40% over a two year period. Mongers who retired to the Philippines on a pension close to the minimum amount required for living and mongering there when the exchange rate was P42 to the AUD are now feeling the squeeze. Some may be forced to cut back or cease mongering, making their presence in the Philippines pointless.

Going from rooting choice bar girls from Burgos St and EDSA bars to lurking in LA Café until 4:30 AM hoping to score some bargain bin toothless veteran street meat is a significant drop in quality of life for a monger. Guys planning to retire to the Philippines on a negligible amount of money should take note of possible currency downgrades before buying into the many "you can live like a king" on some ridiculously small amount of money claims that are widely circulated on the internet.

I remember an Aussie guy retiring in Phils with a bundle of cash, based on the high interest rate he could get in Phils, about 18% on deposits if I remember right. But over the years it went down down, plus he realised living in Phils is quite different to visiting Phils, and didn't like what he was experiencing. Back to his home country with tail between his legs, never to return. Yeh more choices when you visit the place, less when your trying to eek out a living on a modest cash flow.

But don't walk away from there with a bundle, arrive on a trike and depart with same trike. Guys have been shot in the head after changing at Norma's (and other Money Changers). Alternatively walk backwards. I practice doing that at home, right now.

On arrival at Mactan ask what the exchange rate is (all the same) and then compare what you can get in Cebu City proper. Airport one is for sucker tourists.

How do I get lots of change?Visit a bank during business hours. At night buy mints or gum at a convenience store. Pay with a large note.

How much do you carry around each day? - just food & mongering.Tough to answer because there are many variables; where you eat and where you party will determine how much you need, right? The FRs have barfine and ST / LT costs so you can figure that out on your own. I almost always go out with a girl from a dating site, so don't need worry about a barfine. At night I usually ride a taxi unless it's a short trip and I'll take a jeep. Taxis will run you between p100-p200. When I dine out the meal for two will run from p300 (Chic-boy) to p800 (Army Navy Burger) to p6000 (Top of the Citi). I usually drink at Filipino bars so that's affordable, can be less than p40 per beer, but I prefer to drink rum or vodka and order a bottle plus mixer. They hold the unconsumed for a next visit. When I go to a nightclub I get a table so there's the consumable table charge. The cheapest I've paid is p2000 but it can go much higher. Again, the nightclub will hold any unconsumed spirits for the next visit.

Can I ask for smaller denominations when I buy stuff?Yes and no. Stores burn through small notes quickly - you don't want to be weighed down by a pocketful of coins. If you ask to break a p500 note for p50 and p20 notes that may be asking too much. To make sure I have plenty of small notes I rarely pay the exact amount in a store; keep using large notes and soon enough you have a collection of small ones. This is more important in the provinces than in the big city.

What of daily "float" do you have on you? When I go out during the day I usually have a minimum of p1000 on me. I know I'll stop by a coffee shop and that will be p200. Have lunch on my own and that's p150-p300. At night I'll carry p5000+ unless it's just grabbing a bite to eat, the cinema, and a post-film drink or two.

On arrival at Mactan ask what the exchange rate is (all the same) and then compare what you can get in Cebu City proper. Airport one is for sucker tourists.

Forgive me, for I have sinned. This post should have been in Cebu thread. No worries, we always give the High Rollers benefit of the doubt LOL.

I'm going to wait and change in Cebu next time as I lost prolly 500 p on tha transaction LOL.

Hey Guys.

Are all the pretty gals gone home around Christmas? Is everything shutdown at this time? Or can I expect to get lucky in the usual places? I am talking about LA cafe, Burgos St, EDSA in Manila or Angeles / Subic bay / J Avenue in Cebu?

I've never been to PP in December and I am apprehensive that things might approach a total shutdown in the festive season. Planning stages right now and thought I'd hear some opinions before purchasing my tickets.

Thanks.

P.

For those of you interested in personal safety from airport scams, you may want to read the latest Philippine newspapers senate hearings on the syndicates, including the police of course, operating at the Manila airport. It makes awful reading. Very little has been done to address the problem with the police and security staff. Again, best plastic wrap all zippered bags, otherwise use Samsonite style zipper-less bags. Also watch your pockets as you go through so-called security at the airport in case a scammer slips in something illegal into your pockets. This also applies to any clothing you are required to put through the X-ray machines.

Visit a bank during business hours. At night buy mints or gum at a convenience store. Pay with a large note.

Tough to answer because there are many variables; where you eat and where you party will determine how much you need, right?

Yes and no.

There is a constant battle for smaller denominated bank notes. I suggest you ask your hotel reception to give you change before you go out.

Yeh, I got a hundred 50's and hundred 20's at same time. Handy.

Had to be the positive vibes I had sent out to him on previous occasions, read: "tip" , LOL.

Change for tips, yeh, I agree.Like a diamond, one carat in a 100 tons of dirt.

There is a constant battle for smaller denominated bank notes. I suggest you ask your hotel reception to give you change before you go out.Oh, they will be the last one to give you change. I find places say "I don't have change" when they do. They are just protecting their valuable supply. Hutsori is right, keep presenting larger bills when purchasing. I collect change that way too. Don't let folks see your smaller denominations. If they see them, they will not accept your larger ones. This "no change" situation was pathetic years ago, better nowadays, but still can be a problem. Still, one has to remain vigilant, otherwise they might back you into a corner with 'no change' story. High rollers do not need change, do they? "Keep the change" prevails amongst the high rollers. If in Angeles, Norma's seem to always have a generous supply of change, when you exchange your foreign currency for Pesos. Even money changers will tell you they don't have change, LOL.

Am not sure why you are surprised as many of us who live in the country know nothing will be done despite them choosing the wrong guy (the 20 yo missionary man!) parents even had a go at NAIA I a press conference and threatened all sorts of law suits etc. (that will take 10 years t reach the courts LOL).

The politicians still claim this is not syndicate and it is not a problem ("isolated" Now the ruling party says it is a scam to discredit the government without really dealing with the offenders. They seem to be scot free and no one know what is being done despite missionary's parents naming 2 security personnel in their news conference.

GE posted a while bac about his pinoy friends suspicions as did I. The fact that the head of NAIA (Pinoys uncles) and the DOTC head (ruling party key man and friend of PNoy) won't resin says it all. They don't care so best people are more vigilant but I think people are now more aware and things will slow down ass everyone is watching everyone. When I was last in T3 recently there were people watching the security guards handle the bags but the main scam is when you enter the terminals from what I read not security checks after.

Now Rody the had a solution which I found amusing especially as the papers printed it. Was do with swallowing the bullets and other things LOL, that s why many pinays I know want him to run LOL.

USA Embassy, Manila, Philippines.

Message for USA Citizens: Update on Procedures at Airports in the Philippines.

November 13,2015.

THE EMBASSY OF THE UNITED STATES IS TRANSMITTING THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION THROUGH THE EMBASSY WARDEN SYSTEM AS A PUBLIC SERVICE TO AMERICAN CITIZENS IN THE PHILIPPINES. PLEASE DISSEMINATE THIS MESSAGE TO ALL USA CITIZENS IN YOUR ORGANIZATION OR NEIGHBORHOOD.

The USA Embassy advises all USA Travelers to the Philippines that, when utilizing for-hire or commercial airlines, travelers should be cognizant of any potential prohibited items they have packed within their baggage or are carrying on their person. Possession of any prohibited items (live or spent ammunition, knives of any size, anything resembling a prohibited item, etc.) during security processing at airports may subject the traveler to prosecution and stringent penalties (including fines and imprisonment) by local authorities. We recommend that all USA Travelers check with their airlines to determine if a particular item is allowed for transport. Passengers should also check with the appropriate government authorities in any country they are traveling from, to or transiting through, in order to determine if a particular item is prohibited. All USA Travelers should remember that items allowed for transport under USA Regulations are not necessarily allowable under another country's regulations.

The Philippine authorities are working to maintain a high level of airport security, especially regarding access issues in the Manila international airport. Oversight of the airport has increased and a broader effort to improve security is underway. USA Citizens who have concerns about airport security in the Philippines or who encounter any problems with airport securityare encouraged to contact the Embassy. Hundreds of American travelers arrive and depart the Philippines every day without issue. However, we encourage all USA Citizens to exercise good situational awareness during their travels. USA Citizen travelers should alwaysmaintain positive control of their personal baggage to minimize theft and the introduction of prohibited or contraband items into personal baggage. Additionally, USA Citizen travelers should not accept any baggage or packages for transportation from other individuals.

The Department of State offers additional tips for travelers abroad on our main website. The USA Embassy also reminds all travelers that, while in the Philippines, a USA Citizen is subject to Philippine laws and regulations, which sometimes differ significantly from those in the United States and may not provide the same protections available in the United States. A USA Citizen in trouble can always call the Embassy at (02) 301-2000 and ask to speak to the American Citizen Services unit during business hours or with the Embassy Duty Officer after duty hours.

Once I arrived at NAIA 3 at 10.00 pm from Cebu being the late flight. I went to departure level to catch an incoming taxi for Pasay. And found long queue of riders for their taxi. I was in hurry to make my ride since my girl was waiting for me in my hotel lounge since from one hour. She arrived after a long ride from Laguna and was not interested to go back. It was annoying and what to do moment. Than the securities guided me to ride a taxi parked aside their post. I asked the driver does it in meter and he replied yes. Ok fine, and when the security pointed the phone numbers shown on the back door if there any complain against the taxi, the bell rang in my head. But I accepted the challenge, sine I had no choice. After some time I asked again the driver where is the meter!! Since there was no sign of meter in dash board, instead of that he shows some meters blinking numbers, what I have no idea. And I failed to understand what the old bug speaking out with his teeth less mouth. Soon I realized m going to be mugged and I need to have my initiative. Immediately I stopped the taxi and luckily the car stopped in front of a gas station. I decided to stand on my feet strong and the pain was I had only 500/1000 php bills in my wallet. I asked the driver to give me 400 php and showed him 500 php bills. I refused to hand over my bill first and finally one by one he handed 350 php. But I stand strong and at last reluctantly he handed to me my asking money and we exchanged the bills. I observed all along the bargain time gas station boys and boys with trike observing us. Might be they had a silent role as the catalyst to solve the issue in less effort, but was not enough to accept their request to have a trike for my destination in late night.

Finally I catch a running taxi for my destination and paid only 100 php more.

PC out.Just a tip for avoiding the NAIA taxi rip offs; take Uber. I know there's allegedly a ban on Uber drivers picking up at the airport, but it's largely ignored. My new tactic is to summon an Uber car as soon as I receive a cell signal on landing, and before the doors even open. In my recent experience it's never taken more than about 5 minutes for the Uber car to arrive at my location and the fees are quite reasonable. You can thus totally avoid the lines, the scam artists and the fear.

A lot of Filipinos really think scamming a foreigner is OK as it is redistribution of wealth. To tell the truth it is not only Phi but any tourist place. Good thing now is you have Internet and can find out beforehand what is cost for anything so that you cannot be ripped off. However at the end of the day you do end up paying more than locals.

Few years ago I took my Chinese GF shopping. She liked a outfit and I asked for the cost. They told me $30 US. My girl whispered in my year saying she can get it for under $15. We walked away. Next day she went alone and got it for about $13. After that I usually give money to the girl to go shopping alone.

Some countries charge one fee for nationals and another fee for foreigners to visit a landmark or museum etc. IMHO it should be the same. Right there is a rip off by government no less.

Right there is a rip off by government no less. That's not a ripoff by the government, that's a good practice. Museums, landmarks and cultural sites are good educational opportunities for the locals. Keeping the price low helps to get the population more aware of their culture and heritage. On the other hand, such places are expensive to maintain. Since many tourists come solely to see these places, and since even the tourist price is usually reasonable, they are making best use of the attraction. If they raise the native price, no natives will visit. If they lower the tourist price, then the government has to pay to support it, meaning taxes which will probably fall on the tourists anyway.

GE.Came into terminal 2 after the APEC nonsense. Passport line stretched up stairs. Even after that, it still took another 30 minutes to get my check in bag. Economy bags arrived before business class of course. Best text driver you have arrived and to come to terminal driveway after another text saying you are ready for pickup at column number X. Usual inane management at the terminal. Really is in bottom 10 airports of the world. Of course, this assumes you will actually get your bag!

It's worth noting that the local tourism industry relies heavily on locals travelling within the country and patronizing the hotels. It's surprising given the levels of poverty but even if it's only 2% of locals that travel then that is a lot of people in a population of 100M.
You can see the data on the DOT website. Regular travellers will notice how there are usually more locals at breakfast in most hotels than foreigners, except of course for the hard-core monger hotels in AC.

There is a "local resident's rate" for virtually all hotels. I always use it when travelling within the Phils.

You just need to show a local driver's licence as proof of residency. Possibly an electric bill or post-paid phone bill showing permanent address might also work.

Last trip to Cebu I received a 50% rate cut at Waterfront Hotel because I always ask for local resident's rate. I also get the same discount at Parklane too.

I don't know if it is still applicable, but there used to be at least 3 rates at many hotels (excluding corporate):

1. Local Residents rates.
2. Balikbayan rates.
3. Porigner rates.

Apparently a lot of thirsty guys have been flooding into the Philippines recently. In the past six months, I have seen the quality of girls on the dating sites go down noticeably, and the price has almost doubled. 4 k / night seems standard now? One girl on PL asked for 15 k / night. Wouldn't budge. 7/10. LOL?

In other news, I did have my first (non-pro) threesome the other day. It's been constant threesomes since. (It's my second month in country.) One girl was previously a virgin, both 20 years old, 8/10 looks. But I'm spoiling them like crazy (you guys would call me a fool if you knew how much I've spent on girls per month since arriving here) and too nice to kick them out. It is fun having two live-in GFs. They get jealous though if I pay too much attention to the other. Question for you guys: when you're with a non-pro and you make her leave, what happens? She doesn't try coming back, or calling, or showing up at your doorstep? Never had slashed tires or something? Every girl I've been with so far has tried clinging on for dear life.

I'm renting a house, plan on living here for a while. It's nice because it lets me avoid the walk of shame (my car has tinted windows and the security guards just wave me through). But I'm worried about meeting a psycho someday.

They seem dumbfounded when told it is over 20 kgs ad then they have to remove items from the bag or pay. That is OK but they do this (remove items) at the counter and stop others checking in at times.

For hand carry mine is always around 8 kgs as carries laptops etc. If weighed, I tell them 2 laptops and they are cool.

Some idiots abuse the system and then get pissed when they are caught out. I saw a woman with 2 bags that together must have weighed 10 or 12 kgs get angry when they stopped her.

The rules are very clear, Carry-on up to 7 kgs is free; after that you pay, and it's MUCH cheaper to pay when you book rather than try to short-cut the system and get caught at the check-in.I agree the abuse seems to be over the top. On a recent flight in the States from one major city to another the flight was full, at the checked in luggage carousel there was only me and 4 other people. Everyone else did carry on!

My friend had only one proper sized, pocketless carry on luggage and no other bag. The carry on was less than 2 kilos over.

There is a capriciousness to the system. The weighing of carryons appears to be nearly non-existant at CP, and or sometimes its random. Assume my own carryon is over the 7 kg limit. Normally I'd expect to pay more when caught with that. However, why would I expect to pay more if the CP clerk did not weigh the carryon items of the 4 groups of customers in my queue in front of me, then weighed mine (only)? At the same time in the several other queues to my left / right, no other customer's carryon is being weighed? Then I get to the clerk and she wants to hit me with an extra fee? Right then my racism-meter is going off and I'm asking to speak to a manager. Several times (Cebu, two different provinces) I've had this situation happen, and I've (quietly, respectfully) asked the CP management if this is racist, and been given a free pass. On another occasion in line in front of me in the province was a young mom and her daughter. In several queues they had not checked anyone's carryon weight (many pinoy travel with no checked luggage, they simply check in and get a boarding pass without weighing their carryon). Then in front of me they checked the woman's (and her young daughter's) carryon. This is random. Their carryon was overweight, and transferring to her checked luggage made the checked luggage overweight. A fee was to be applied. She cried, saying she did not have the extra pesos, and she was given a free pass (that's the culture shining thru). When they checked my carryon weight just after the young mother left to the gate, its a red flag. I asked the manager these simple questions: I'm the only gringo on the flight, just 1% of the customers on the plane. Why am I 50% of the customers whose carryon your agents weighed (1 out of 2, myself and the young mother)? Isn't that racist? What's that? A free pass like the crying lady? Sure.

Red, I don't mind paying the overage fee. But if you are the young pinay mother mentioned above, or myself, the customer will have legitimate concerns over corporate policies being applied unfairly. Question: At the checkin lanes at the airports, is there a sign clearly marked with a message like this: "Cebu Pacific weighs all carryon items. Over 7 kg = surcharge"?

It usually does not end well for foreign men who have multiple live-in girlfriends in the Philippines, especially when they try to cut off the cash and evict a member of the harem. The foreigner might get a visit from the friendly local policemen and invited to have an extended stay gratis at their fine resort facility for cheeky sex tourists. The other scenario involves the foreigner being robbed and murdered by unknown assailants. The murder usually goes unsolved and quickly turns into a forgotten cold case.

If you have doubts about this, just do a search of local news articles and expat forums. Filipinos only agree to harem arrangements because of a financial interest in the foreigner. Their family and friends will consider the guy to be yet another foreign "babaero" (disparaging local term for a womanizer) there to victimize their women and deserving of whatever nastiness they decide to mete out to him. Their desperation to hang on should be a cause for concern not flattery. Desperate people do desperate things. When the goose stops laying golden eggs Filipinos would not hesitate butchering it for meat, especially if they think the goose will lay golden eggs for a rival.

On a recent flight in the States from one major city to another the flight was full, at the checked in luggage carousel there was only me and 4 other people. Everyone else did carry on!A slightly different carryon problem exists with carriers in the US (not a weight issue usually). The carriers usually have a metal bin which has the exact maximum dimensions for the customer to check his carryon size, either at the check-in queue, or at the gate, or both. There is not usually an oversize issue. The carriers rarely ever weigh anyone's carry-on (the weight difference between lots of carry-on vs little carry-on luggage is neglible unless the takeoff situation is unusual) on your typical mid-range 737/ A319-type aircraft, the most popular in both the US and on domestic Asian flights. The airline is only concerned with the weight of the aircraft at departure, so fuel can be calculated. They are more concerned in the US with size of carry-on, as the overhead bins can hold only so much. The airlines have created great confusion and boarding problems by allowing free carry-on while paying for checked luggage. The rub from the passenger's view comes from this confusing policy for carry-on: 1 free carry-on (under 21") and one free personal item (intended to be a lady's purse, fannypack, laptop / tablet, etc). Many US passengers no longer pack a larger (25+") suitcase to check ($25-$35/ bag), with one smaller to carry on free. They now skip the checked bag and carry on two 21" suitcases, calling the second small suitcase their 'personal item'. The airlines allow this.

All of this is fine unless the flight is full. If the flight is full, not every passenger can bring two 21" suitcases and stow them in the overhead bins (not enough room). Hence on a full flight, passengers boarding the plane last might find no overhead bin space for their (only 1) carry-on suitcase. At which point the FA's may announce they are looking for other passengers to give up one or more of their carry-on to be re-checked in the cargo hold, which takes time, and leads to arguments between passengers and FA's. Last January I took a domestic US flight out of Miami. They announced at the gate that the flight would be full, and recommended to passengers (20 minutes prior to boarding time) that we should drop our carry-on luggage into the size-bin to see if it was small enough to be considered carry-on, that they would not be allowing any carry-on larger than the bin's limits, and that there was plenty of time to have oversized carry-on checked into the cargo hold. Nobody bothered to check. I was lucky to be 3rd in line for my flight boarding. Sure as rain there was a family in front of me (mom, dad, teen daughter) with 6 pieces of carry-on. 5 of them were 20-21" suitcases, and one of them was a larger suitcase, 25-28" (full luggage). They were stopped as the clerk was taking the boarding passes and told "No thanks" to that larger suitcase. The father caused a scene (he lost the battle and had to check the larger item below the aircraft).

On another flight out of Phoenix in September the plane was sold out, and as the straggling passengers boarded, there was not enough room for their overhead luggage. The FA's made a call for anyone willing to re-check their carry-on to the cargo hold, but nobody volunteered. The FA's started at the front of the coach section and started going thru the overhead bins, asking which carry-on items belonged to which customers. They found several customers amazingly had 3 carry-on (for example, two in the overhead bins and one under the seat in front of them -- how did they get past the agent taking the boarding passes?) And some had oversized carry-on. They got grief from the passengers involved, but finally just checked some of that extra / oversized stuff under the aircraft. Result? 10 minute delay. THANKS!

In the US, flights are typically 1. 5 - 5 hours, near-capacity, with lots of checked luggage. Hence more fuel, and heavier. In phils, domestic flights are usually 20-90 minutes, little checked luggage, and hence much less fuel.

DG, never been to a domestic carousel in the US after a flight that was not ringed with a hundred passengers.

The rules are very clear, Carry-on up to 7 kgs is free; after that you pay, and it's MUCH cheaper to pay when you book rather than try to short-cut the system and get caught at the check-in.The overage charges are a huge moneymaker for Cebu Pacific as you say. I always check a small suitcase for clothes, cheap pasalubog chocolates etc and never put anything of value in there and never noticed anything lifted. The minimal pre pay baggage called small is 10 kilos usually and its pretty cheap, like P150. Your overage charges are 5 x to 10 x what you would pay in advance. Also deselect your seat choice to save money and ask for a seat of your choice at check in and decline all the phony insurance crap I can imagine trying to cash in on that later. I doubt that giant panda will every get your donation as well.

If you think your carry on is a little hefty keep it on the ground as you approach the counter, don't show it. Drag it up there and keep it on the ground and don't allow the agent to see it. They are usually pretty lazy and don't even like to stand up if they have a seat or tend to be short persons obviously. I see people all the time with tagged carryons but mine is never tagged because they don't notice it and its a good sized Targas back pack. I usually push it to the limit and buy things at the dollar store at home like hand lotion as gifts so I'm always right at or over the hand carry and checked limit.

This is nothing new they have always done it.

Question: At the checkin lanes at the airports, is there a sign clearly marked with a message like this: "Cebu Pacific weighs all carryon items. I don't want the hassle of arguing over weight at the check-in counter, so I comply.

Most airlines seem to only randomly weigh carry-ons and not all the time; sometimes it is merely the attitude of the clerk or the timing of their shift if they can be bothered or not.

It is VERY clear in all of the terms and conditions what are the baggage limits. If you get caught out then it is your problem. It is irrelevant what might or might not happen to other people. WC seems to get away with playing the "race" card but that too can be a very capricious thing.

I have tried telling the policeman that pulled me over for speeding that I was going at the same speed as the guy in front of me so why didn't he stop that guy too. It never works.

Filipinos abuse the carry-on system everywhere (as of course do other SE Asian people). My friendly PAL agent (a filipino guy) who always greets me at the gate in Sydney despairs at the amount (and weight) of baggage that his kababayan try to bring on board. It's why everybody rushes to get on board despite any seat row boarding rules, because they want to be able to stow their 3 or 4 bags, including the assorted stuff in plastic bags.

I wish they weighed everyone's bags and were more strict about number of carry-ons. The "rules" are clear, but rarely enforced consistently by ANY airline. I also think that seats should be fixed so that they cannot be reclined, but that's another topic altogether.

Australians who become down and out in PI and other places have not been intelligent enough to correctly plan for their overseas retirement. One would have to be really, really dumb not to know that there are wild fluctuations in the value of the AUD, and understand the implications for themselves.

AUDUSD rates that I recall (I did currency transfers, at these times) are:
2001 0.53 (fell below 0.50 in 2002, but I was unable to take advantage of the low)
2009 0.64
2012 1.14
2015 0.72.

And I will never forget when the little Aussie bleeder temporarily hit 400 yen. Being primarily paid in AUD, we hit those Akasaka Mitsuke nightspots all night long.

I am sure that it is not only Australians who have failed miserably in their financial planning.

Ikks.

P.S. Note that there are many reasons for the fluctuations of the AUD, but historically the main reasons are its popularity with currency traders coupled with the ready availability of large amounts of the currency (big traders are able to magnify AUD rate changes to their own advantage), and the long term consistent strength of the Australian economy (escaping relatively unscathed from the worldwide financial crises of the last 30 years - unlike the U.S. - as our politicians constantly remind us). Believe it or not!

AUD falls again, Aussie wingman cancels

Well, my Aussie wingman from a few months ago just let me know that would not be able to return to Puss Heaven next month. Apparently, he is quite shaken up by the further fall of the Aussie dollar today and the forecast of more economic downgrades to follow. He said if the Aussie dives to P25, as many financial pundits predict, it would force him to declare an indefinite moratorium on his mongering career in Thailand and the Philippines.

It is just as well he decided to cancel his trip. The last thing I needed was helping identify the splatter on the pavement below if he decided to use the express checkout via the hotel balcony due to more economic bad news from Oz. Besides, it would have been most undignified watching him scare up bargain puss on Johnny Street and the LA Caf salvage lot.

Aussie pensioners are feeling like the German 6th Army at Stalingrad when the Red Army launched Operation Uranus squeezing the Germans in a pincer maneuver and cutting them off. Conventional wisdom told Aussie pensioners to keep their nest eggs in AUD instead of pesos. Now a lot of those guys are finding their nest eggs shrunk almost overnight. They want to drink themselves to death but are finding they may not be able to afford it. Their favorite spotlight dancers are now rising ever higher out of reach and they must endure watching the Koreans make it rain pesos from the balconies.

This is a classic example of what can go wrong when retiring to a supposedly cheap mongering paradise without building in a huge buffer for currency shocks, and no exit plan in the event that Puss Heaven becomes unfordable. For the more well-heeled high-rollers, please have a kind heart and give a down and out Aussie monger a jug. Don't be the type who boasts about tipping the girls way over market, but one who steps over a down and out fellow monger sleeping on the pavement with the stray dogs.

WRT the recent Angeles City kerfuffle, I attempted to take it off line and sent you a conciliatory PM. But you did not even have the decency and common courtesy to reply, let alone continue a dialogue without disturbing other ISGers. So I justifiably post this open message.

When I post in the PI forums, you often respond, attempting to put me down, twist my words, and misinterpret my posts (often deliberately, to shift the goalposts).

The trigger for your behavior was my response to your very first post on this forum when you wrote the unconditional statement: Even in Zamboanga I would have no reservations to fly there and stay in the city. (and other related nonsense claims).
http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showthread.php?1012-Other-Areas&p=1647413&viewfull=1#post1647413

My polite response was to detail why I believed that your statements were incorrect. And the esteemed and Mindanao veteran GoodEnough wrote "Ikksman is 100% correct in his assessment". But, you attacked my response and defended yourself furiously, shifting the goalposts so far they ended up in the car park.
http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showthread.php?1012-Other-Areas&p=1647481&viewfull=1#post1647481

I could continue giving example after example, but I am sure ISGers get the general idea!

And now, more than a year later, you still continue your ill-conceived campaign.

And, BTW I don't give a fuck! I learnt how to handle troublemakers, surviving in the USENET newsgroups and BBS's of the 90's, and learnt even more interesting techniques at Ft Belvoir.

Ikksman I didn't respond because when it comes to the Phils and Angeles in particular, you are poser and have nothing of substance to offer.

You never answered my query why do you post in Angeles with such authority and cocksure opinions? A place you admittedly, which is obvious from your posts, is a place you have NEVER MONGERED? I am not going to bother to have a private dialogue about a place I have mongered and visited scores of times over a decade with a guy who never even got some strange there.

Don't lecture me about Mindanao, a place I have been visiting every year since my second visit. I am an adventurer if you don't understand that sorry your self assurance is so low. It is a place you HAVE NEVER BEEN. Then you quote those who HAVE BEEN THERE. I am sure they didn't have armed guards 24/7. I never advised a neophyte to go there, to Zamboanga. I am not going to rehash that argument with a person who has never been to Mindanao, sorry. I will be in Davao and Butuan (for the first time) over the Christmas holidays, I expect to survive alive.

You are an expert on China so you feel that gives you the right to belch and fart anywhere wildly off topic in ISG where you have zero recent first hand experience to offer other than regurgitating the real life opinions of others or shit you read on the net. Apparently many of the habitual posters who have the same habits agree with you, so be it. I am not the boss here. I don't need the affirmation of other posters because I have useful first hand knowledge from personal experience.

If I came to the China forum and started offering strong opinions rather than asking questions I would expect to be similarly called out.

When I first started posting here in ISG apparently I hurt somebody's vagina and some other newer poster warned me through PM that one of the regular posters sent out a blast PM to all 'important' posters advising them to ignore me and hopefully I will go away. He was wondering why he was on the list of the self appointed mandarins who apparently feel they ruled this place.

Was that you? Whoever it was is a pathetic little creature.

I didn't respond because you have Zero first hand knowledge to offer about Angeles and the Phils in general and its obvious by the content of your posts to a regular visitor. Continue to embaress yourself as you wish here. But I will not be lectured by an admittedly armchair Phils monger, without response.

More twisted excuses!!

I answered your question about posting in Angeles in the PM, so you are twisting the truth again!

If I have never been to Mindanao, then how come GoodEnough says my assessment is 100% true (which of course meant that your assessment was crap)!?!?

Actually, I suspect that GE may very well know about me as we might have been in the same game.

A wonderful example of your shifting the goal posts is in your very last post today. The issue in Mindanao was regarding Zamboanga City. Yet in your 3rd para you talk about everything except Zamboanga City! Twist, twist, squirm, squirm!

I have lived and mongered longer in PI than I have in any other Asian country. I usually say that my first visit to PI was in 1976, but actually I first stayed there starting late 1970 (I don't talk much about this, as it was not a pleasant time).

The fact that I have never mongered in AC is irrelevant (it was not possible when I worked in Manila). I have mongered in many places in PI, however I also prefer freebies.

Did you know that when mobile phones first became cheap enough for texting, girls used to text hundreds of actually random numbers to try and meet guys. I met a girl in Batangas this way. No, of course you did not know this, just as you did not know that most girls in PI do not shave their legs.

I lived in Manila for about 8 years (2 stints), and even owned a condo in Global City overlooking the Manila Golf Course (a shit Megaworld development). Ask Freebie Fan (by PM). He even knows the details, and we both (unbeknownst to each other) used to pick up nurses at St Luke's, which was only a few blocks away. We later shared details of some of our escapades.

St Luke's is still a great place to pick up freebies in BGC (another useful tip), and will be even better when the new Shangri-La is fully operational!

Hell, you did not even know that PI was in S. E. Asia!!

And I have lived, worked and mongered for 30 years in Asia, not short visits like you! Also another 10 years in other countries including Australia, PNG, and Venezuela!

No, it wasn't me that sent a PM or posted a message to all regulars here advising them not to respond to your posts (and I do not remember receiving the message either). But I have seen this strategy openly used on the PI forums against other trolls (I think one such person was LukeSkyWalker)!

So I guess that we are going to continue this in public because you are not man enough to have a discussion in private, where I would rip every one of your BS twisted arguments to shreds.

A bit more on the airport-bullet scam, see pic.The big complication with this whole "thing" is that lots of pinoys were stopped THIS WEEK carrying bullets and these people ADMITTED, despite all of the adverse publicity, that they were using them as amulets.

Thankfully good sense has now kicked in at the check-in and the security is now simply taking these amulets from them and allowing them to pass through (much as they have done previously with pocket knives, scissors or nail files etc.).

There seems to be some new witchcraft rumor around that a bullet will guarantee the plane a safe journey. It is quite unbelievable that after all the fuss and publicity in the past 6 weeks some idiots will STILL put bullets in their own bags. I hope that some exploding ordinance masquerading as an amulet will not cause an unmitigated tragedy to add to this chaos.

There's so much to love in the Philippines: Beaches, lush flora, natural wonders, low cost of services, and most of all friendly Pinays. In any rational country there'd be a sign at the entrance to security listing items that are prohibited and clearly stating the consequences. The results would be an intelligence test for both passengers and screeners. Foolish superstitious stupid passengers would be arrested and miss their flight. Easily monitored corrupt screeners and their supervisors would be arrested and lose their jobs. It works in all civilized and most uncivilized countries, but not at NAIA. One can dream.

If you get past the screeners there is another illustrated card at the the check-in counter.

The clerk asks whether you packed your own bag blah blah and if there is anything dangerous in it blah blah.

Most residents are so accustomed to bypassing all rules and regulations (ignoring red lights, jay-walking when it says Don't;overloading all vehicles; drunk-driving etc etc) that this is just another set of "rules" to be ignored.

At the risk of sounding overly repetitive, I'd suggest using Uber as an alternative. An Uber trip from Terminal 3 to the Greenbelt area is less than Php200, and there's zero chance of getting ripped off. As an alternative, travelers might want to try Grab Taxi, which also works well, and substantially lessens the rip off probabilities. Ample warnings have been broadcast by multiple posters on this board about taxi scams. Why someone would spend serious money to get here and then put himself at risk for the sake of saving Php50 is beyond my comprehension.

Its an eyeglass for inspecting the vagina.Hahaha. It's a state-of-art medical instrument the bargirls' doctors use when performing an STI inspection. A glance, a quick whiff, and she's clean enough for business.

Is it a penis ring?Yes, that's what it is with a clit stimulator.

Yes aka a cockring. Hopefully good quality rubber. You'd all seen my penis through my pics but this ring is rather small when erected (so its mostly hurtful). Believe me I've tried it allready. Quality good though and the rubber seems of decent quality. My toolkit was an even steven 12000 pisos (batteries incl). Girls seems to enjoy most of them tools.

There is a province girl "L" early 20's, who takes the bus in to visit with me when I'm in town. We've been bumping uglies for several years now. One of her friends (a previous regular for me) brought her to me, and later the friend got a pinoy BF and stopped seeing me. But L has continued, and become a mainstay. Each time I'm in town she busses in for 2 or 3 nights. About every other visit, she brings a cousin or a friend. Pleasing personality and everyone always has a good time. She lives to be in the city, better live bands and bigger malls and such make her happy. Strong positive: A hottie, who tends to bring other lookers with her on the bus from her province. Pictured previously in the PG.

On a recent visit she brought a friend. L is outgoing, but not chatty. Her friend "M" on the other hand is chatty (mostly with L, some with me). On our first afternoon together when they arrived, we 3-some'd, rested, then went out for food / drinks. It was M's first time in the city. We had a nice time out and all headed back to the hotel mildly drunk and went to sleep, no sex. In the morning we had another 3-some before breakfast. This was turning out well. While we were eating the hotel breakfast, I was thinking that I should pop a vitamin "see", as there might be another round in the afternoon, and then again in the evening, and possibly the next morning. But I got sidetracked. M has cousins in the city and wanted to visit them. So off she and L went, saying they would be back in the late afternoon. Perfect, I get some quiet time minus Sponge-bob, and possibly fit in another girl. I got my quiet time, a trip to Starbucks to read the newspaper and have coffee, watched some hotties go by, and enjoyed lunch. L came back about 4 pm, minus her friend. See said that M wanted to stay with her cousins a bit more and would be back around 8 pm. Fine. See seemed a bit down at that point, quiet.

I wasn't in the least bit horny, and had forgotten to take the vitamin see anyway. We went shopping and saw a local landmark, and yes I was hit with some Sponge-bob: "Is berry funny. Why you don't like"? About 9 pm L got a txt from M, saying M wanted to spend the night with her cousins, and asked if I was OK with that. Sure, I'm not horny, M is one less mouth to feed and fill with Tandauy Ice. L still seemed a bit down, so I suggested we go out for live band. She got exceedingly drunk. Her normal 3-4 drinks for a night became 6 in the three hours we were out. She didn't get falling-down drunk, but she danced her ass-end off (by herself in a crowd) on the dance floor and she never stopped smiling or giggling once she was drunk. The bar was loud, both with live band, and disco music between band sets. You have to shout into someone's ear to be heard. She would lean into my ear during disco time and tell me things, stories, and I'd pretend to be able to hear her, like I understood what she was saying. But mostly I did not. I would yell back into her ear: "YEAH. ME TOO!" Or: "CRAZY!" She just kept talking like I understood her.

Finally we get back to the hotel. I come out of the CR and she's sucking down yet another Tandauy. I turned off the lights and disrobed and we watched some more TV. I was tired and handed her the remote and told her to turn it off in a while as I was going to sleep. She turned it off right then and put the drink down. "But. But. I am horny". Now? "Yes. I am horny now". {Let me interrupt the story briefly: This moment is one to be celebrated, and also dreaded. Celebrated because this is EXACTLY what you want to hear from a 21 year-old. OTOH, I was tired and not horny. Back to the story}: But baby, I'm really tired. You and M wore me out this morning. "But this morning I f*ck you not horny even. Now I am horny and we f*cking ok"? Wait. Wait. *Now* you develop some form of reciprocal logic? WTF!

I explained that I drank too much tonight, was tired, and could not get an erection. Feel Johnson in the dark hun, he's asleep. "But. I am horny. Nowwwwwww". For the rest of my life I will never forget how long she dragged out that last word. There was moonlight in the dark room, and I could see her cross her skinny arms in front of her booby chest, in kind of an angry way. Gawd, even in the dark, just the silhouette of her boobage is sexy. Shit. Shit. I'm guessing this fox with the beautiful eyes and smile had never been told 'No' before. I pretended to doze off. Did that work? Hell no: "Just you sleep. I will be here. Horny"; arms still folded. Finally she laid down and faced away from me, towards the window. Quietly: "Here. Horrrr-nnnneeeee". Ba-jesus. What to do?

I put my arm over her waist and was still, but she gently pushed it away. Finally I inched closer and from behind her I gently sunk my teeth into her upper arm and sucked on her skin good and hard. She flung herself over in the dark and DFK'd me really, really hard. We kissed for about a minute, then I rolled her onto her back and moved down to her boobs and sucked a bit, then went all the way down. I started carpet-munching, but no erection. She was oohing and moaning so I stayed down there for about 10 minutes. My tongue was getting too tired to continue, and I considered just hiding in the CR for the rest of the night, sleeping in the cold bathtub, naked. However, somewhere in the 10 minutes of DATY, Junior had swollen to life. If not completely hard, he was certainly partially so, and heavy. I still wasn't horny, but Junior was at least willing to play for a while.

I elevatored back up face-to-face and she started DFK-ing real hard again, then she wrapped her legs around me and dug her heels into my ass, and she grabbed Junior and thrust herself up to push him inside. The next 15 or so minutes were one of the wilder rides of my life. We banged mish, then doggy, then back to mish. She was full of either DFK, or "Oh my got! Sheet! SHEET!" When she started shouting I would DFK her to quiet her down. The woman was crazy with passion in the dark. {Side note: I think this is what every man wants during sex}. I was nowhere near cumming, and realized that it was not in the cards for me that night. I graciously ended the thing with a fake cum. I stayed inside an extra minute or so, telling her she is beautiful, etc, while she continued to thrust up with her hips while pulling me down with her heels to my ass, then I rolled off and we collapsed together and nodded off. I'd fucked her a dozen times previously, but she never fucked like THAT before.

The next morning she was mildly hungover. Her friend M came back about noon. Later in the afternoon L went downstairs and outside to have a smoke, and I mentioned to M that L seemed a bit depressed the day before. "Yes. She missing her boyfriend". Um, L has a boyfriend? "Yes. Look her facebook to see him". I ask L from time to time if she has a BF and she always said no. I had asked her 2 evenings prior at dinner, telling her that she was too pretty not to have suitors, but she denied having a boyfriend. Later when the girls were watching some telenovela, I grabbed the laptop and checked L's FB. Sure enough, there was the young pinoy suitor, with her hanging on him in the pics. Clearly "in lab him".

Later I told her that I'd seen her boyfriend in FB (so not to out miss M). I asked if she was in love with him. M said "Yes she is. You tell a truth". L admitted: "Yes berry much". I was tempted to ask her how she could be in love with one guy (her BF), and leave her province for days to be horny as hell with another guy (me). But I let it pass at that moment and asked her later in private (answer to my question not detailed here).

Notes to self and others:

1) Pinay are strange critters. One never knows the motives in a filipina's head. Why is she f*cking you? Money? Your blue eyes? Raw sex? A baby? Maybe it matters. Maybe not.

2) Take your pinay dancing and get her drunk, then turn out the lights and wait for the storm. Guess I need to learn how to dance.

3) Me-thinks #2 applies to many woman.

Quality good though and the rubber seems of decent quality.Seems the cock ring's rubber isn't pliable enough. If it's hard enough to cause you pain the pleasure nodules of the clit stimulator may do the same for her - of course some girls do like their clits pinched and sucked hard and even bitten, but it's something that needs to be worked up to. You could cut the opening's diameter larger but the edge may be too sharp. Perhaps melt the edge after cutting.

Money's obvious when it changes hands. Pinays mid-fuck have said "I want my baby to have your (white) skin. " I'm no George Clooney, but have had a PAL stewardess on her first trans-Pacific assignment foist herself on me however inconvenient at the time. A woman I know in a far off province who was abandoned by her Norwegian husband pleaded with me to make a Fil-Caucasian baby for her without commitment. (Mr Skogis, PM me if you know which Viking is responsible.) A hot, St Louis you grad call-center girl on entering my room after dinner out without drinking, says "I feel drunk already, fuck me. " Boyfriends? Husbands? Not at the moment she's with you. There are certainly vast numbers of conventional Pinays with their first, last and only man for a lifetime. But there are enough of the strange critters to make it More Fun in the Philippines indeed.

I have two prospects, unknown to eachothers ofcourse, doing some cabin legwork for PAL. Both great lookers and very interested in providing good service (it goes with the job I guess). Others than that I don't like PAL as an airline but if I stay in Thailand their departure time for MNL is convenient (midday and with a widebody equipment (A330 or A343)) so I sometimes use them. "My girls" fly long haul for PAL, so in a lucky way, I am not able to see them on such short legs as from BKK to MNL. Its all for fun.

But, he gives zero trip reports about his thailand experience for the reason on not mongering and just living through the guys on here. It is what it is.To Tom SF.

Look who talking you are just a wanker with nothing to offer in ISG when is the last time you are in China better yet have you ever been to The Philippines, all you talk about is planning to take trip but never talk about your experience.

I do have 3 weeks available during Chinese New Year, where my choice is Philippines or Jakarta (but other ISGers are recommending Jakarta to me).

It is true that I have bought a house in Hua Hin (Thailand), and am based there with my 25 yo Chinese porcelain doll (and Hua Hin is not like Pattaya)! So naturally no trip reports!

And it is true that this information has been freely available in previous posts!

It is also fact that I have had two (2) Reports Of Distinction in the past month (Philippines and China). How many Tom has ever had? (Zero!)

Hello Folks.

As reported on the travel announcements page I have a trip coming up later this month to the Philippines. While I will stay at Century Park (Manila) this time I want to check out Quezon City.

The reports on the QC thread are very dated with the last reports coming in sometime back in 2014. Pretty clear that Quezon Avenue & Timog are two places to target. A sizeable number of KTV / Gentlemen Clubs / Massage Parlors to visit. I also read about Eastwood where all you need to do is apparently wear a smile and you are open for business from the call center cuties. Pegasus, Classmate, Sylvanus, Decadence. These names keep popping up in the reports / conversations.

I checked out some more on Pegasus & Classmate as they sounded good. Pretty expensive (I would think) with a single peg of whisky priced at P250. And the girls just sit with you for an hour in exchange of P1000 - P1500 with no guarantee of sex.

Somehow I am not totally convinced I should invest more than 1 or 2 nights there. Does anyone of you fine gentlemen have any immediate / recent experiences to share from your exploits there? Thanks in advance.

Somehow I am not totally convinced I should invest more than 1 or 2 nights there. Does anyone of you fine gentlemen have any immediate / recent experiences to share from your exploits there? Thanks in advance. If you do end up in QC during the daytime, the absolute best meeting point is the vast SM North EDSA mall. Every online girl in QC (seems like a million of 'them) can easily get there. There's a convenient Eurotel across the street and one or two other similars. FB / Tagged / DIA / etc all have oodles of girls living in QC or even San Juan del Monte eager to meet a "poriner". You really can't fail if you are willing to double-book. As far as P4 P goes, you've read all I know in the forum. They say the nightlife on Timog Ave (crosses Quezon Ave & EDSA) is good, but I have stayed there a few times and just didn't click. No doubt lots of couples with an income go there for evening food, drinks, dancing, comedy, etc. There are SWs along Quezon Ave from EDSA southwest to maybe a km beyond Timog Ave after dark, but I got the sense that there was almost an organized syndicate of some sort running it. Maybe my imagination, and I'm sure local members can contribute more concrete information. My recommendation: Nightlife only if you've exhausted Pasay / Manila / Makati and are just bored enough to try somewhere else, biggest thumbs up in Metro Manila for daytime non-pro meets.

Arrived in Manila on Friday around noon from Taiwan. It took about 45 minutes to pass through immigration and grab my luggage. It appeared fairly efficient and the terminal area was nicely air conditioned. I read here that the time to travel between the airport and Makati was now 2 hours. It was not that bad but it took me an hour and a half to go this distance using the skyway. Total gridlock most of the way. The taxi stand guy said it would cost around 450 pesos since the yellow cabs are on the meter. The price ended up closer to 800 pesos.

Apparently Friday afternoons are the worse day to travel to / from airport but there was road construction virtually all the way.

Instead of building a light rail to airport, the taxi driver said they were adding another highway above the ground level road.

Instead of building a light rail to airport, the taxi driver said they were adding another highway above the ground level road.Light rail would be harder to build in congested Manila. Once it is completed it would be easy to get to airport fast on the upper level road. Right now do not use the cross road connecting to Roxas Boulevard. Take by pass road. When I landed the taxi guy wanted the meter running to make money and it took double the time. I advised him to take the other road but he would not listen. Return trip to the airport was fast because that driver knew how to bypass the gridlock. I compensated him accordingly.

Yeah, Friday is a real killer. On my last trip I first arrived at Terminal 1 around 11 pm Friday night. Traffic to the skyway was a nightmare crawl and it took over an hour to drive to the Fairmont Makati. The 2nd time I arrived in Manila on the same trip, this time at Terminal 2 and again on a Friday. This time my flight arrived at 6 pm and I got into a taxi at around 6:30 pm, but it took over 90 minutes to drive to the Sofitel. I had planned to see my favorite girl at 8 pm and I thought I was leaving plenty of time for our rendezvous, but I was wrong. She waited for me at the Mall of Asia for over two hours and then reluctantly took a taxi to her bar in Makati. We eventually hooked up anyway that night as she took another taxi back to the Sofitel to see me. I took her out to dinner and we had a good time. Nice girl.

So for my final departure flight at Terminal 1, I was expecting a really long ride that Wednesday night. My girl, the same one who had waited for me at Mall of Asia, suggested I go very early. But, to my surprise, it was a smooth, easy 30 minute ride at 9 pm that Wednesday night which leaves me to believe that it is Friday afternoon or evening when the traffic gets out of control. So I will be avoiding any future Friday flights into or out of MNL in the future until the road construction is over. The traffic is just unbelievable.

Just heard that the Government is now trying again to shut down Uber, and has banned Uber from operating for 21 days, doubtless because the taxi mafia and the politicians they own are losing out to the competition. To its credit, Uber is ignoring the government's order and it's evidently business as usual. Given the total inefficiency of the government and its inability to enforce much of anything, doubtless Uber will continue uninterrupted. The monopolies that control everything here intensely dislike competition. However, in this case, they're going to lose.

GE.How I read it GE is that the QC court placed a TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) on the issue of more Uber licenses. Likely a pre cursor to banning (or trying to ban) Uber fully.

Looking at news articles on the Uber issue, most comments are ridiculing the government and the judge. Stating similar things as you said in your FR.

Your comment about the local families / politicians / mafia is true IMHO as look a Emirates. The local boys asked the government to stop EK operating a third flight a day to NAIA (even though all flights were full of OFWs) as they were hurting. Rather than raise their standards just ask PNoy and pals to stop the competition. OFWs I speak with in the AW all want to fly EK or Etihad or PAL or Cebu Pac over that distance.

EK is full on many flights, PAL and CPac are cheaper for sure but many prefer a "good safe" airline (to quote one friend).

Anyone else have experience with this dorm / bordello option? This is the first I have read of it.

Just wondering about your assessments of the KTVs in Manila have come to. Do you have a favorite? As you stated in your post, KTVs are rarely commented on here. I am still trying to figure out exactly what they are. Are they like massage parlors in Thailand, where there is a fishbowl? Are they Karaoke clubs where they hang out with you and are open to options? From what I have read, they seem to be fishbowl type places, but then why don't people call them that? Why are they called KTVs?Both are only sparsely reported on here. I'm reluctant to pursue new avenues without a trusted wingman, but am interested in trying both. Lately online non-pro-to-my-door (or at least to the closest mall) has kept me well entertained. FWIW, I've known a couple girls who worked in KTVs (I think it orignally stood for karaoke TV). According to my second-hand info, they're kinda like touts when working in front (often in a theme uniform or just scantily clad) and bar / club / singing / snacking hostesses when working inside. They get whatever meager pay by the hour or by commission. They undoubtedly make mutually beneficial arrangements with their mostly Pinoy customers.

On my last visit I asked two taxi guys about dorms or casas, but either they didn't know such places or I didn't know the term they use. Will try again when the opportunity arises. Any old hands with details to share publicly or via PM are appreciated.
