Lobo220: Mirabao Bluewater Beach Resort is nice. Short taxi ride from Cebu Cactan Island Airport. Make your reservations at a travel agency in Manila or you could end up paying way too much per night for a room. If you get to Cebu, try staying at a hotel near the airport. There are several, Waterfront being the most expensive. Go to a travel agency there and see if they can get you a good deal on a few nights at one of the many gorgeous resorts on Mactan Island
Be prepared to share the place with families and children on holiday and plenty of Japanese/Chinese tourists It is primarily a "byog" (bring your own girl) place.
Ilongo boy: I will be in the Phils in late january. Ormoc City has plenty of ladies at Western Leyte College right in DT Ormoc. I found 2 clubs there opened late at night with women but not that great. When I had a coed gf there, she used to frequent a karoke bar on Sat/Sun nts. I imagine the regular and pros still go there.
Don Felipe Hotel gets women in the lounge after 9:00PM at night and plenty hang out at night along the waterfront near Don Felipe. Never saw any action at the other, fancy Hotel (was Days Inn but name changed).

On my 1 month plus trip to the PI very recently I was mostly in AC but went to Naval on Biliran Island Leyte for 4 days then took a shuttle to Ormac City (2hrs) and a 2hr Supercat boat ride to Cebu City. I stayed at Kiwi Lodge close to where the Supercat docks in Cebu City. Dragonslayer is right when he speaks about great action in Dumaguete on Negros. I was drinking at the hotel bar at Kiwi Lodge and all the Americans and Aussies were talking about Dumaguete and the great action there.They were saying exactly what Dragonslayer is saying about Dumaguete, lots and lots of college girls, super friendly locals and tons of pussy everywhere. Dumaguete is a well kept secret but ill check it out myself on my 2 month trip to the PI this May and post a report on it. These are all middle aged guys like myself saying they are scoring on 8 and 9 looking girls on a scale of 1-10, both semi pros and even regular college girls and local girls.I got along great with everyone at the Kiwi and they tried to get me to go to Dumaguete with them but I had pre arranged a few days with the Superstar of Blue Nile in AC and I did not want to miss that as this girl is always the #1 barfine out of Blue Nile and was set up with me special from one of the Mamasans there whom I have personally known both her and her husband for over 10 years now. Ok...Here's the report on Cebu,
Was there 1st week of Dec, went trolling at Ayala Mall, and later SM Mall. No luck. Now, I'm not sure if I don't look "tourist" enough (I'm Asian, and with a tan, I often get mistaken for Filipino when I'm in Philippines, Thai when I'm in Thailand - you get the picture).
Anyhow, no luck at the mall. So, I got on WSG FOrum and posted my frustration, and Dragonslayer who happened to be in Cebu at that time responded and we arranged to meet at Club Exotica.
After waiting for a while and thinking D-Slayer's gonna be a no show, D-Slayer walked in like he owned the place. Slayer's really nice guy and very knowledgeable in Asian Mongering matters - he bought me and another guy he was meeting a beer for being late. Then he made his selection and went upstairs. Me, I prefer my own hotel room, so I waited for him to finish and bid him goodbye. Made my selection, Mika (see photo in Photo section) and back to my hotel we went. I was staying at the Richmond Plaza, near Ayala Mall....I would recommend D-Slayer's hotel, the Metropolis Court. Funny, that's where I stayed last time, but I got the name confused and thought it was the Acropolis.
It was 1700 php all inclusive for the girl. Mika's pretty, young with a nice body. But only average in bed. Very gfe though.
Next day, I went to Dumaguete. Again, not sure if it's me or what....couldn't find any girl there. Walked around the boardwalk akk night, saw some girls hanging out, but when I tried to make eye contact, they did not respond at all. Now, I don't consider myself as movie star-look type, but I'm not ugly, and I'm young and fit. So, I decided to take it easy that night and didn't bf any girl. I did send an e-mail to Bill, the owner of Exotica and complained about her after.
Funny, out of the 3 smelly pussies I've experienced, two of them happened at Metropolis Court Hotel.

you are correct that maribago is a bring your own type of place,but you can talk to trycycle drivers who hang around outside the gate and they do pick up and delivery from different mactan casas and bars,i once saw a multicab deliver about 15 women for 6-7 extremely happy looking koreans.maribago is a 5 star costabella is a 3 star.in fact maribago has a very high occupancy rate about 80-95%.regards

The odor that diver69 encountered has nothing to do with the girls ethnic or cultural background. Filipinas in general are very clean and hygenic, almost to a fault. Vaginal infections occur in all countries, and I've encountered more in the US than in the Phils, by far. They are usually very easy to clear up with a variety of products available. I don't know what's in your gf's hair, but it's probably not an infection.

Re. Dumaguete, I guess I'll be more agressive next time...Like Cebu Local said, I guess it's a little easier if you look the tourist part, instead of just sounding like one. But, I'll definitely be more aggressive next time.

None of the Mactan Resorts are close to Cebu City, unless a 45 minute cab ride is "close". Best hotels at reasonable prices in Cebu City are Cebu Midtown on Fuente Osmena, Metropolis Court Hotel (my favorite hands down), Cebu Waterfront hotel (fairly new). I stayed at 15-20 different hotels over the last 12 years on 60 separate trips. Unless you are very poor, forget the others.
Older guys with college girls is as common as snow in Alaska in January. I saw an "old fart" 7 years ago with an incredible, 19 year old. He pointed her out as his fiance and mentioned how they were leaving for the States to get married. He also said how he had grandchildren older than her. Just got the new deal from Cathay Pacific and felt I better mention it just in case you are not on their e-mail. Came out late last night here in USA. The 21 day $999 deal to 17 cities has been improved to include Beijing, China. Before it was an additional $ 400 for Beijing, about what a R/T flight there from HK is.
Remember, you fly in and out of HK on each leg which means at least one quick sojurn to lovely Shenzhen, China a 90 min bus ride or a 25 min taxi ride from the airport (traim from airport also but must change 4 X & takes 90+ mins.). I alwyas take the cab at $ 320 Hk ($ 43 US) for the ease and convenience and the magnificent view of HK Harbor from the Bridge.

I'm headed back to Cebu the last week of Jan for my second trip. First one was in July ( see trip report dated 7-30-03) Will be nice to escape the cold and snow for a few weeks. I've been spending some time at the Yahoo chat room for Cebu and it has been a gold mine for finding filipinas. I'm totally honest with them regarding my age (old) and marital status (married) and nothing seems to bother them. I have 5 cell phone numbers now and could have more. I highly recommend the Cebu City Marriott Hotel. They're girl friendly, have a great $50 deal which includes breakfast buffet for 2 and you usually get a suite. Walking distance to Ayala Center Mall and nice surroundings.
I've stay there every time I go to CC. I'm Platinum Elite with Marriott and they upgrade me to the premium executive suites. Great staff and the G.Mgr. is very generous (She's from Germany)

Yes there are flights from Cebu to Boracay. I know for sure Sea Air flies that route and its likely Cebu Pacific and others fly that route too. Make sure the plane goes to Caticlan and not to Kalibo. Kalibo is 2 hours drive to Boracay and Caticlan is a 15 minute banca ride to Boracay. As for a hotel close to the airport (Mactan Island) try Kiwi Lodge its clean with nice rooms, its 1100 pesos a night (20 USD),the food is good,the staff is friendly and the bar area of this hotel is a great place to get information by friendly ex-pats on the nightlife scene and much more. Its 15 minutes from the Kiwi Lodge to the airport. For women the security guard at the hotel gate can have women brought to the hotel for you to choose who you like. The number of the Kiwi Lodge is 63-32-232-9550. The address is 1060 G.Tudtud Str. Mabolo Cebu City.

Actually two corrections Christian Wasfy the former GM of Cebu Marriott is no longer there,she got assigned to Saigon earlier this year,but her replacement is a nice guy,secondly you can get an airport hotel for about 25$,the Days hotel about 800 meters or 2 minutes from the airport gives rooms at that rate,American standard rooms with American level amenities.look for Jacky the sales manager or Niko the resident manager and yes it is girl friendly in fact the in house massage provides sextra services 063-32-3410476 4955381 regarding flights of cebu to caticlan,only seaair and asian spirit fly between the two destinations,they have daily flights regards

While in Boracay, I stayed at Waling Waling resort - beach front hotel and very nice. Let us know as to the bar scene in Boracay, I hear there has been a few changes since my last visit - July 2003.
BTW, if you can bring your own girl in Boracay even better. Local supply was limited when I was there. If you play golf, make sure to play a round at Fairways - pretty nice course.

Hi Pal. Do you read any of my postings here? If you did, you would NOT be asking this question. I have been going to SE Asia for over 15 years. Speak Thai (ya that's right Secret Asian man?), Japanese and Spanish which helps a lot with Vasayan which is spoken in Cebu (do not speak Vasayan, Seegay?).
Okay now down to Cebu for Mongers 101: First for the 100th Anniversary of Cebu City, Cebu Magazine put out a special section on the "Best of Everything" in Cebu. For the "Best Hedonist Spot." was Metropolis Court Hotel with it's WIld Orchid Club (28 gorgeous ladies, open 24/7), KTV Lounge on the second floor with 40 gorgeous ladies and 50 "Love Rooms' all equipped with In Room Jacuzzi.
As to CLubs, for the "Best Value for your Money" no doubt about it, Club Exotica on General Maxilom. Several of our guys have either accompnied me there or took my advice and paid a visit there. All were noticably impressed.
I have been visiting Silver Dollar since 1994 and even stopped by briefly on New Year's Eve 2000. I like John but his CLub is mostly a "big hussle". Firehouse, walking distance from there on Osmena Blvd is much nicer. I understand the Cobra Bar in downtown Cebu (formerly across from Metropolis Court Hotel) is good. There are some fun filipino bars down on Sancinagko St and Jakosalem Street in downtown Cebu where the girls get totally naked just like at Club Exotica.
Across the street from Club Exotica are a few Clubs also. One is newly renamed and was the old "Peter the Viking" GoGo Bar which was a "ripoff' when the old drunk owned it. Might be worth checking out now. Papillon's , next to Exotica, is a ripoff. Have not checked the new CLub next to Papillon's but Dimples, in that spot before had been another ripoff.

In regards to Circus Disco, I also heard about it on other websights and decided to try it on my last trip to Cebu in July. To me it was a total waste of time. I arrived at about 8 pm and was the only one in the place so had a beer and left and came back about 11 pm and there was one other guy and 4 overweight girls at a table. Bluewater Beach Resort, White Sands Beach Resort and Plantation Bay are all great. So is Shangri La. All are very expensive. No problem bringing girls there but you are pretty much isolated from everything. As I mentioned here before, try to book your reservation in the Philippines at a Travel Agency there to take advantage of discounts.
Never heard of Club Harem. I used to have a girl I did in Cebu that worked out of Caesars palace Massage in Mandaue. Island Bar Playgirl in Mandaue used to have the women totally nude and giving handjobs in the Club for a ladies drink. A couple places have opened up right next to the Mactan Airport but they are real expensive. Clientel includes a lot of Japanese/Taiwanese businessmen on expense accounts.
As a guy who has been doing this for 15 + years now, I recommend you prioritize your trip to Cebu. If you want ladies, stay in Cebu City. There are money changers but it is better to change your money at a bank. The rate in banks are OK but is much safer than money changers where you dont know who is around. 4-5 star hotels will also change your money but at a very bad rate. Use only PESOS, not US$, or you're inviting people to mug & rob you.
There is a P550/$10 departure tax in Manila for international travelers, and its safe to assume Cebu will have the same. Easy money for the govt.

Just stayed in Cebu for 3 nights and here is my experience. Lonely Planet and reports in the internet are all out of date, because the Philippines is so chaotic and changing so fast.
I am a Chinese Australian with medium standard, I guess.
Airport Taxis: I arrived at Cebu airport and get out of the wrong exit. No taxi there at all. Better to get up to the arrival level and catch a taxi there.
Hotel: I stayed at Garwood part hotel and is OK. Went to Metropolis Court Hotel for a maasge in Wild Orchid. The rooms are bad. Will not stay there, because of rooms and location, too far from anywhere. From Garwood, at least you can walk to banks, bars and restaurents.
Massage: I tried Wilde Orchid, which was OK. The girls are heavy but wild. There are not as beautiful as the ones in the bars. And it was not cheap, P3000 plus. I personally cannot negotiate too hard, for a few dollors, but the girl said discounts are available when I come back for seconds! Tried also Mars downrown. Cheap (P1500) but girls not beautiful at all. Rooms are really bad.
Bars: Viking is good. The downstairs one is better than the upstair one (with more locals, some sort of bikini bar). Blackhole is the best, with a lot of hotties. But they all seem very young to me. I asked the mamasan and she said they are all 18 (exactly?)! I did not risk it! Had a look at Blueline and it took me two seconds to get out. No good at all. UK Bikini Bar is nowhere to be found; might have closed. Thunderdome and Volvo Club have the same owner, and they are back to back. They are expensive (P4000 plus) and the girls are very beautiful but too young. It is not worthed it.
Restaurants: Lighthouse restaurent was not a great experience to me, although some report said it was the best in town. The foodcourt in SM city was the best and the cheapest to me.
Ayala and other malls: may be you guys are young and beautiful, but I cannot see any possibility of chatting up anyone in malls. May be it is just me, but the cafes mentioned in some of the reports are just too decent. May be it is different at night, or it's my bad luck.
Got P30,000 (about AUS$700) from the ATM at HKBC. Do not think I can spend it all on this rate, for the three weeks in the Philippines. Things are just too cheap and I am choosy on girls.
In Boracay at the moment and then Angeles City and Manila. Boracay is nice and relaxing, but no girls available yet. Will be reporting more later.

Hi. I just left Cebu and I am in Davao now. The Hotels you mentioned all have internet and most have "in room" safes. To be honest, I never trusted the room safes. I always lock up my money and valuables in the Hotel safe. At Metropolis Court Hotel they now want you to buy your own "internet card" for using their internet services. I just go down the street 50 yards on the right from the Hotel to an internet cafe that has webcams and costs P20/hr.
My Hotel in Davao has internet service and it is accesible 24/7 for P90/hr. Using it now for this Post. If you go to Metropolis Court do use "Lawrence" for any needs. Even the Hotel Manager is new and does not know anything. Only constants in a "sea of change" there are Lawrence (been there since Day 1) and Roland (5+ yrs ). Some of the Staff does not speak good English also so you need Vasayan for them. The two guys mentioned are both fluent in English and can handle any situation (Lawrence can line up ladies and advise you on Wild Orchid Massage Girls).

Feb Trip Report,
Just got back from approximately 3 weeks is Philippines and it was all good. Prior to going I had chatted in Yahoo Cebu room so I had met many girls who were interested in meeting me even though they knew I was already married. I had to do a little creative planning as I did'nt want any of them to be offended by me seeing other girls and I pulled it all off rather well. All Hotels in Cebu Island are "Girl Friendly". At least I have NEVER encountered one that was not(same for Davao, Makati, Leyte, CDO, Dumaguete City, Iligan City, Surigao City). Only one I know of is the "Lantaka by the Sea Resort" that does not like it. Being in Zamboanga City I do not think any of you will have to concern yourselves about this.

The Viking was there 13 years ago on my first trip to Cebu. It was called the Puerto Rican then and has always been a "ripoff". It has always been way overpriced.
As I have mentioned so many times, do your homework before you make the trip. Timing is everything also. Be there just before the "peak business" time at Wild Orchid to get the hottest looking ladies. Use common sense and do not over pay. Girls at WIld Orchid will go for as little as P 700 which is what a guy I know paid once. He just said "this is all I have and if its not enough, I cannot afford extra service". She said "okay' and he fucked her in the ass for the next hour.
What rooms did you look at at Metropolis Court Hotel that were filthy? This makes no sense at all. As to Ayala Mall and the other places you mentioned, these are unconventional ways to meet women. I know of no one who uses them regularly with success. Did you get your questions answered? I do not want to appear as a self-imposed authority on the Philippines. But in case you are still "in the darK", here goes:
ATM Machines. All over Cebu. Best location is at the Equitable Bank ATM Station at Fuente Osmena, the Circle right at the center of Cebu City. Have the cab go along the Circle and you will see it. Has Security Guards there 24/7.
Hotels near the "Action". For this I highly recommend staying at Fuente Osmena. There you have the beautiful, upscale Cebu Midtown Hotel with a magnificent Restaurant, Bar and Lounge on the roof. It has a swimming pool also and will be in your price range.
There are three other less expensive Hotels right on the Circle and two just off it. The Park Place Hotel is very nice and has a nice Buffet for breakfast/lunch on the ground floor. it also has a lovely Bar on the roof. Last I checked the rooms included a full breakfast buffet in the price.
From there Silver Dollar and Firehouse GoGo Clubs are walking distance south on Osmena Blvd past Mc Donald's. 1 km north on General Maxilom are 5 CLubs including my favorite, Club Exotica. Fuente Osmena has several money changers, a 24 hr Pharmacy and two Pizza places, 1 that stays open until 03:00AM. Walking distance also takes you to an open air Karaoke Club where plenty of local ladies can be found at night (go south 1 km on Fuente Osmena and take the side St over towards F. Ramos; Karaoke is on this side St). Just south on F Ramos is the Thunderdome Club popular with the Japanese.
6 Kms north in Guadalupe is my favorite Hotel, Metropolis Court. The Suite Rooms with the jacuzzi on the first floor will cost you P 1500/nt ($ 26.50). If interested PM me or just go and ask for "Lawrence" in the Bar. Tell him you are a personal friend of mine and need assistance. This IS NOT "near the action", which is part of the reason I like it. It is a magnificent hotel with the famous Wild Orchard Massage and the Manhattan Lounge plus the KTV with about 50 girls. It is a 15 min, P 45 taxi ride to the Clubs I mentioned.
Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, Restaurant/Bar, Wild Orchid ARE ALL open 24/7. Last Jan 31 returning from Club Exotica I awoke both my Woman and Daughter at 03:00AM and had them join me for a late night meal at the Bar. My Daughter was "cool" with this but my Woman kept complaining about my weird hours. I guess I should have left her sleeping and awakened my Daughter's 25 y/o babysitter instead. I told her with the Superbowl starting in a few hours it made little difference to sleep then.

It is right between Shakey's Pizza on the let (open till 03:00AM) and Pizza Hut on the right, plus a 24 hr Mercury Drug store. I will ask my Woman if she knows. Malaysia, this place definitely is not. You need to do a bit more checking beore "signing on the dotted line".
1. Mandaue is 30 minutes by taxi from Cebu City. I go through it to Cebu at least 10 times a year from the Airport into Cebu City.
2. For Women (Gals?), Mandaue is not a real exciting place. The Island Bar Playgirl just across the new Mactan Island Bridge from the Airport used to have the women dancing all nude. Most of the clientele was local filipinos before. I heard the Girls are wearing 2 piece bikinis now. I assume they still "fool around" with the guys in the Club.
3. Driving in Metro Cebu, including Mandaue City is very scary. Most of the vehicles on the road cannot be worth more than $ 1000 and drivers tend to make their own lanes on the road and ignore trafic lights. In accidents involving foreigners, they always try to blame the foreigner (how is your vasayan?).
4. No problem getting a driver's license but consider a driver for your vehicle. Let him worry about the other "nuts on the road", as you sit, buckled in. Me, I take taxis always. They are cheap and easy to find.
5. A decent place to live is not real cheap. Friends of mine pay around $ 300- $ 400 per month for decent apartments. I knew a bunch of ex-pats living in dumps in downtown Cebu City for $ 250/Mo. They had a/c but little else. All had furniture not even suitable for firewood.
You do need about $ 1,200 a month minimum to live a good life in Cebu. I would want at least $ 2,000/Mo as the lifestyle I prefer requires some additional items. Of course the same lifestyle here goes for at least $ 5,000/Mo.
Mandaue City is a poor, working class city. Personally, I do not like it at all. For a massage try Caesar's Palace not far rom the Bridge into Mandaue City. I used to fuck a girl who worked there for a year or so whenever I was in town. It was a girlfriend sort of deal back then so I did not pay her. But she made her income by fucking/sucking Chinese and Japanese customers at the massage parlor.

The Casas in Guadal;upe have Pros. See lawtence at the Bar at Metropolis Court Hotel. Pay no more than P 1000. You can get a gorgeous lady at Wild Orchid for that At nigt in downtown along Colon St, Jakosalem St & Sanciangko & Pelaez Sts are reelancers and I would think P 500 would do it. I doubt the quality is much.
I stopped hanging out in downtown Cebu around 1996. There were some small street in downtown then just below Jakosalem where you would walk around at night and find maybe 100 girls working the streets. This is a very bad area at night. Are you big, strong, fearless and tough?

Need to go back to Dec / Jan here. Lawrence is the man at Metropolis Court. Bar Manager and been there since Day 1 (6+ Yrs). Join their Club for a whopping P 110 ($2) and get discounts on your food / drinks and rooms.

I am in Cebu at the moment. I tried my luck in the malls so I can give some of you guys a bit of an update. First of all Ayalla: I believe this mall is a bit of a waste of time. The girls we're all after don't seem to congregate here. Sure you'll get the smiles but you would have to be very bold or lucky to pick up here. If you insist on coming here, I would recommend the Itilian coffee shop on level 1.
Robinsons is a much better bet, lots of girls and most are not that wealthy as opposed to Ayalla. I got talking to 3 girls within a relative short time. You've motivated me to introduce myself to the thread. I would like to see more people talking more about cebu, especially the many expats.
I am starting a business in Cebu in 6-18 months. Sorry, can't mention the industry.
NOT fucking my employees (this is in bad taste in my view (-: ) will be a challenge. My play will be out of the work world.
There are many offsoure/outsourcing companies in cebu. For example, the call center industry grows at 100% a year . They hire cebuanos at an incredible rate right now. Light manufacturing is also big. Some of the companies will hire Americans locally, but expect low salleries. Of course, your money goes MUCH farther over there.
Simply put, you should think about starting a HR outsourcing company. Where else can you find such well educated people that understand US culture and where the local wage is a fraction of that in the US and where english is spoken by the best of the best in a way that americans on the phone don't even know they are talking to a foreigner on the phone? Certainly not in India or China (the big oursourcing countries).
Do you know about VoIP? It means phone calls from Cebu to the US can be like domestic calls in terms of price and quality. Cebuanos can learn to speak with americans much easier than in other countries where outsourcing work is done.
There IS for sure quite a bit of HR work being outsourced from the US.
Last time I was in Cebu I met some incredibly talented HR professionals, and thier current salary is 1/5 or 1/4 of their counterparts in the US. They worked for multi-nationals.
I don't think you'll find a job state-side for many reasons. You're best bet is to go over there and network and see what you can find IF you don't want to start your own company.
You could start something small with just small clients in CA that have you do HR work for them.
We should meet up when I move to start the company if you're there.

Another good reason for staying at MCH, it is built like a fortress with walls around it and a guard house. The general rule here seems to be, take private cars with drivers you know, be off the road in potential trouble spots by 4 in the afternoon at the latest, and don't stay more than a night or two in any of the potentially risky areas.

Sounds like you are going to have a nice time. My suggestions:
1) Palawan is very nice for beauty, and some nice resorts, some of which are not expensive, However, malaria-bearing mosquitoes do exist there and CDC recommends malaria meds be taken. I would agree that you heed that advice.
2) A little known place that is very beautiful is Coron, in Province Buswanga - about a 70 minute flight SW of Manila. It is stepping back in time a bit, with a small village like atmosphere. Has an affordable resort to go to, although it is somewhat primative with hot water a premium. However, it is unbelievably beautiful, with many mini islands and inlets to explore on bancas.
3) Sabaang/Puerto Gallera, popular with guys on this board, has bars, partying, but also very nice beaches and water and snorkeling/diving.
4) Right there in Cebu, on Mactan Island (where the airport is) has a wide variety of resorts from super expensive to moderately priced. You can also rent a banca to take you over to Olango Island, where there is a wild bird sanctuary, mangroves, etc. that are really cool to see. They also have people who live without electricity and only fish for food who will talk with you - very shy and gentle people who are happy with only the bare basics in life.
5) Go to Subic on Luzon, which is about a 3-4 hour drive from Manila and you can stop at Angeles on the way : ). Absolutely beautiful natural harbor, former base that is now accessible and wide variety of resorts.

Since you are in Cebu and have a few days to spare. Try the surrounding islands like:
Bacolod City, Negros Occcidental. Sugar Cane Capital. Lots of hotels under P1,500. Kipot Resort has a small twin waterfalls and plenty of trails. Not much on the mongering scene so B.Y.O.G. Some cute locals.
Alona Beach, Bohol. Great beach, fish sanctuary and many diving spots. Bring your own girl, though.
Tacloban, Leyte. I don't know why but it is quiet and the people are friendly in this city. Has some nitelife and action but you have to work at it.
Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte. Small island just off Surigao City. Cloud 9 Resort offers great waves for surfing. Gen. Luna locals offer island hoping to the many small islets for an afternoon luncheon. Mapupungko has great tide (and deep) pools during low tide. Fresh sea food like blue marlin steaks for only P60/kilo. another B.Y.O.G. place.

OK, you nimrods. I just got back from 5 weeks in Cebu. Here's the scoop.
Get a cellphone. It is absolutely mandatory. You can always sell it back to the place you bought it from when you leave.
For the value, Eddies Hotel is the best. The Metropolis Court sucks, despite what asshole Dragon Slayer says about it. Of course, if you want to buy the girls at the Orchid, I took a look and some of them seemed OK, but it's all a bit overpriced.
Went to Dumaguete, and there are a lot of university girls around, but not much action. Got a hooker named Annalee at the WHY NOT bar, and had a great time with her, claimed she was 19yo, but whatever age, she was worth the P600 I gave her.
Go to the websites and chat them up before you go, and you wont end up paying much for pussy. Ayala is like many American malls, so u wont have girls coming up to you begging you to fuck them, despite what all these bogus posts here promise you.

i spend some days in Cebu during my last trip. Hotel de Mercedes is good pricing (ph 720/night deluxe room) and the staff is very friendly and can help you in any "question". The Black Cat is one of the best Bikini Bar for price/quality of the girls. Try also the Scandinavian (i don't rember the name) at the next door.
It's possible find some beautiful and fine girls-freelancers everywhere (you have to ask). Many of them say they are studyng in University (maybe....).
If you like to try GF experience, it's better to bring your girl in Cebu and go in Malapascua Island (north Cebu - 4h bus)

Last Monday, May10 (Election Day) I headed up General Maxilom as usual. Noticed tat Dimples had reopened after a 2+ year closure and decided to have a look. It is under new ownership, a guy named Ron from San Diego.

I notice some of you guys are reporting good things about Dimples. I checked this bar out on my last night in Cebu back in April. The two girls on stage do get nude and very suggestive. To some of you this may be a turn-on, to me its not. I like the more wholesome, shy but not too shy Filipina.

I did not skip Club exotica as I went there three times just not on my last night. Will be back in Cebu in the middle of next month. Will go to angeles first for a few days after which its Cebu, probably my favorite place in The PI.
This time I made the mistake of inviting a Filipina GF whom I met during my last trip to stay with me in my room. Matropolis Court Hotel on V Rama Ave in Guadalupe, Cebu City has a great massage at the Wild Orchid on the 2nd floor. Dimples is on General Maxilom Ave next to Club Exotica (you said you were there) 1 km north of the Circle, Fuente Osmena. The last couple of times I stayed at the Marriott Hotel and I’m wondering if the rooms at the Waterfront (Cebu City) are better? Don’t get me wrong, I think the Marriott is a great hotel and I especially like the convenience of being next to the Ayala Mall, just wanted to know your opinion.

Waterfront Hotel Cebu City (Lahug) is more elegant in the lobby area than Marriott, has casino and on site full service massage, and good restaurants. Has a very nice pool area and adjacent disco. Friendly staff. THE place to go in Cebu for local celeb parties, big weddings etc.
Downside is that the rooms are getting warn out and need updating.
Marriott, of course, is adjacent to the mall and in a slightly nicer neighborhood - is Marriott-grade in terms of furnishings and nice restaurant. I prefered Waterfront 4 years ago but now prefer Marriott, but you can't go wrong either way. Both hotels very girl escort friendly.

Some of the places on your list are pretty run down and nowhere near Ayala Mall. I stayed at Mercedes 12 years ago when funds were much much tighter. It was a dump then. Much worse now I am certain and in worst possible section of the city.
All the pensions you listed are bad. Unless living cheap (less then $10/nt) is your only objective (then why travel?). If you stay in one of the three Hotels at Fuente Osmena you are a 15 minute cab ride (P45) to Ayala Mall. You are walking distance to about 8 Clubs (Silver Dollar, Firehouse, Thunderdome, Exotica, Dimples, Papillons, Viking, etc).

I just stayed at the Marriott about a month ago, and was not at all impressed. I thought the rooms were small, poorly furnished, and fairly spartan for the money. I also did not think it was all that attractive. I should have taken the advice of the Dragon Slayer and stayed at the Metropolitan Hotel.

Well, I hope you guys can help me out here. Here's what I'm looking for. I was going to stay at Midtown Hotel and take advantage of the Cebu Pacific Airline rate of 1400p. But I was on another board and people posted there that Midtown had bad service and cramped rooms and that others were better. The hotels I listed before was what someone recommended.
So my question is which hotel then would you guys recommend to stay at that is no more than the 1400p for Midtown. Main criteria being decently close to Ayala Mall and better than Midtown.
DragonSlayer, is the Metropolitian Hotel that GoodEnough is mentioning is that Metro Park, I can't find that hotel in asiatravel or just point me to where reservations can be made.

I stayed in midtown many times (when I arrived with Cebu Pacific) and tried also other hotel and pension houses (before I left Cebu). For me Cebu Midtown is still the best bet as long as you can take advantage of the Cebu Pacific rate. I like the location also.

This talk about picking up the ladies of the day or night in Ayala Mall is outdated as of now. I'm retired here and I go to Ayala every other day just to walk off the fat from the beer I drink on a daily basis. As of late the Security people there have been keeping the girls out.
Ocasionally you'll see one or two who slip in but they're very descret about it. They're not regulars so Security misses them. They won't make a bee line for you like happened in the past, they just try and catch your eye and have you approach them. In other words they don't want to make it obvious that they're on the prowl.
I expect security will get tired of the game after a couple of months and it will be back to the usual.

I'm mentioning Ayala Mall because I like the atmosphere and the resturants and coffee shops there. I don't think anybody talked about picking girls up in Ayala. I would think it's the same story in every mall, there's girls to be picked up if you want. I'm hoping to find a decent hotel nearby so that I can easily eat and meet people at a popular spot. When I was there late last year, I didn't really see any "working" girls either.

Staying in Cebu City:
I think the best location would be one of the three Hotels at Fuente Osmena: Cebu Midtown, Gorordo (Formerly Park Place) or the Elegant Inn. Shakey's Pizza there is open until 03:30AM and you can walk to Silver Dollar or the Firehouse (1 km) down Osmena Blvd. It is only 1 km to Exotica, Dimples, Papillon's, Viking, Black Hole, Lone Star Go-Gos up General Maxilom.
You are a 15 minute, P 45 taxi ride to Ayala Mall. I head that way to Mikado Japanese Restaurant, Tinder box (fine wines, cognac, champagnes), and Cafe Adriatico. I like Metropolis Court Hotel which IS NOT centrally locatd but has all a monger needs (pussy, pussy & more pussy. Oh and yes, pussy). One of our Guys did not like it but gave no reason. This Place has high staff turnover and some can barely speak english. Need to see Lawrence, Bar Mgr. He has been there since Day 1, is single and speaks fluent english. If he is off, ask for Roland, there 6= years and also fluent in english.
DO go upstairs to Wild Orchid Spa. Ask Lawrence to make recommendations on the 28+ ladies there. I have had my best experiences when the Hotel Mgr called up there for me or when I awoke at 6:00AM one morning, dick pointing at the ceiling and just called upstairs. The woman who answered was half asleep. I barely got out, "I am DS in room 136" when she interrupted me to say, "Sir a lady will be sent down immediately". Five minutes later a lovely 23 y/o walked in and introduced herself. Asked me name and said "massage first".
Thirty minutes later it was "now what"? We arrived at a price and in one motion she was NUDE. Fucked and sucked my dick until I came.

Thanks Pal. If you stay at Metropolis Court Hotel a1 hr massage is P 400. Yes, you can touch and feel during the massage. I pay from P 1000 - P1500 for extra service depending on the lady. we get to the bottom of the hill and he ignores my objections and keeps speeding along. did i say "speeding"? this guy drove just like a filipino. in other words, no turn signals, frequent use of the horn, ignoring stop signs, etc. in addition to that, he's cursing like a sailor. fortunately, the windows were rolled up.
now, i have no idea where we're going and i'm getting a bit worried. the conversation turns to his construction company in manila and how he left there because of death threats from the rebels. "that's why i have this." he reaches under his front seat and pulls out a .357. now i'm really worried. he put his gun away and continues the conversation, that is when he isn't screaming at the other drivers.
the drive ends up at an interesting little bar / restaurant in downtown cebu. the character i met has his name on the bar.

Again Rookie. He was Eddie, and he DID build Beverly Hills. He lived at the peak for years but ran into financial difficulty and had to sell and move down a bit to a mansion not quite as big and cheaper as it was not at the "summit" of Beverly Hills. He owned and operated "Eddie's Log Cabin" restaurant in Cebu City for years. He used to go into Our Place, an ex-pat dive bar hangout I frequented years ago until I got sick of the drunks and losers in there (got tired of the assholes picking fights with me and having to kick their ass).
Eddie's son now owns a Hotel by Fuente Osmena. I believe one of our guys stayed there in April and posted about it. I am not sure if it is The Elegant Inn or the Hotel just behind Fuente Osmena.
Carrying a gun is commonplace in the Philippines even with the "gun ban" Laws. You apply for a special permit. You have not been back for 13 years? I was here back then and make trips here 4-6 times a year. You have NO stroies about pussy???? There is not much to see outside Cebu City metro area. But somehow I don't think that will matter much to you. A car and driver for a day will run aroud P 1000 up. I have not done this for a few years now so it might be more. Some guys liked Maolbaol Beach Resort but this being rainy season with typhoons all the time, you will need to check the weather report before going. Mosquitoes bigger than bald eagles (hungrier too) will be out in full force. This ruined a night at a beachside place for me back in 1995. There is some new product loaded with deet that is supposedly "mosquito proof". Check with Mercury Drug at Fuente Osmena for this.

DS hasn't provided Eddie's last name, so I still don't know if that street sign was really his name...nor do I know if DS actually met the man. Kind of presumptious to call me a "rookie"...although I am new here at WSG. I first visited the Philippines when Marcos martial law was in effect... who's the rookie here? (I guess now everyone can call me an old git).
Eddie told me his age, and later in the back of ELC "my office" he was telling WWII stories. The age and the stories didn't work out and I caught the man in a white lie. He told me a lot of stories, but I'm not sure which ones were true and which were fiction.

That is a very, very good question. My first evening in "Eddie's office" there were many people at the table, mostly Filipino businessmen. There was also an American guy who came in late. It's been a long time coming, but relatively soon my job will mean I'm in Cebu for months at a time over the next year or two. I have to be VERY discreet about my goings on. For those of you that have had your own driver for more than a week, would you actually trust him to take you (and maybe a secret other) anywhere you wouldn't want others to find out you've visited? Seems like the only way to keep a low profile is taxis, but I also know that Cebuanos see sexual matters as something to hush up about. It might be fair to say they wouldn't be keen to tell someone your secrets if they know you would be very pissed off if you find out.
Anyone know if "Cebu Local" has vanished without a trace? There are many wise elders on this board who I hope to meet some day ("elder" not by age but by time spent in the Visayas), but when I come to town I'd love to buy him a drink. He seems to know a lot of people in Cebu who I'd like to get to know to help me widen my circle of bed-able chicas.

After reading many posts here in the Cebu section, 90% of my questions have been answered, and I sincerely thank you guys for your contributions (especially Dragon Slayer and Good Enough). My trip will be from September 7-19. If any experienced mongers are in town during that time, I would be happy to meet up and have some drinks. I'll be with a college buddy who loves to party.

1. Flying from LAX to Cebu (with a connect in Manila), the cheapest flight I could find was Philippine Airlines, USD $1,014 (internet booking on expedia). Is this price in the ballpark for those traveling from the West Coast of the U.S.? Could a travel agency get me a better rate? Anyone fly this airline before?

No, it is not in the ballpark; no, a "travel agent" will not do better for you; and yes, a few people have actually flown PAL, and some of them have even survived the adventure.
For less than the price you were quoted you could get an "All-Asia Pass" on Cathay Pacific and fly everywhere they go for thirty days. On a standard APEX fare (advanced purchase excursion) flying coach from the west coast of the USA to the PI should cost around six to seven hundred dollars. These fares generally require thirty to ninety days advance purchase, only apply to midweek travel, and are only available from a particular form of discount international airfare agency known as a "consolidator."
Without going into too long of a primer on the arcane workings of international airfare, which works in a completely different manner than domestic travel, what you want to know is that airlines, full service travel agents, and some of the best known internet travel sites will not quote you these fares, because they can't. They are prohibited from directly quoting the current real market price by contractual agreement with an international cartel that sets artificially high minimum prices far above the price that would clear the market of the available inventory of seats. After setting aside as many tickets as they figure they can sell at prices similar to what you found, the international air carriers then wholesale the rest out through third party brokers and pretend not to know at what price the bulk of their seats are really going for. If they did not do this most of their planes would be empty. There is much else that could be beneficial to learn if you do much trans-pacific travel, but just know for sure that you can do much better on price for the very same seat with minimal effort and a bit more knowledge of the market.

There are many, many others. I suggest you get a copy of the SUNDAY LA Times (only the Sunday edition) immediately burn the "news" pages of this otherwise loathsome publication, and peruse the small print display ads in the last several pages of the travel section. You will find that dozens of the major consolidators use this venue to post their international fares, and you will get a good feel for the market so you don't get badly hosed when you lay your money down. You don't want to deal directly with the airlines or "full service" travel agents (the kind with glossy brochures to sell you stuff) for anything but domestic connecting flights if you need that.
Opinions on this will vary, but Philippine Airlines is a crappy dirty dangerous carrier that only exists due to massive bribes paid to Philippine government officials to restrict competition to keep it limping along barely in operation. This effort to prop up PAL is the reason you can get a ticket to Bangkok cheaper than Manila, even though the trip to Thailand is longer, and if you fly any other carrier to the RP you will be forced to arrive and depart at inconvenient times even though there is a surplus of available landing slots at the airport all day long. Having said all that, I would not necessarily refuse to fly PAL if I happened to get a fare that was substantially better, but I have never seen this happen except for occasional deals restricted to "Balikbayan" (Philippinos returning from overseas). I believe they do still have the only nonstop direct flight to MNL, and I have developed a high tolerance for third world discomforts, but if this is your first foray into the third world and you are using up your precious annual vacation to do it you may not want to be that flexible, and might prefer any other airline over the vagaries of PAL.
I'm sure others will do a better job of answering your other questions, but you should assume that everything you do will be known by the entire extended family of every Filipina in the province before you are finished doing it. They like to talk, and they are not above having their "cousins" watch you.

I should have added to my 7/5 post that it is possible to search the consolidator airfare market online on the Los Angeles Times' website if it is hard to lay hands on that particular Sunday paper the old fashioned way where you are, but it can be a bit of a pain, as you have to navigate around to get out of the online html editorial text-only pages to an image of the print version online to see the display ads, and they are in an awkward pdf format, so it can take a while if you don't have a fast connection due to all the needed zooming in and out and waiting for pages to refresh. One really only has to do this once, though, because you can extract a really comprehensive inventory of the North America based consolidators competing on the Asian routes, complete with internet urls and other contact information for each for future use.

I live in South Florida, and even though I have never visited Cebu, I have received airfares from Miami on Northwest for $700 RT to Manila during "non-peak" season(April-June, September-Thanksgiving) and $850 during Peak Season(Thanksgiving-March, July-August).
Since I have a Filipina wife, I get the insight of a travel agent who deals with all the local Filipinos wanting to return to their homeland for a month or two. My advice to everyone and maybe Cebu Local could help, is to find a local agent in your city that deals with Filipinos that would have these connections, to get these low rates. They may even be lower from the West Coast of the USA.
The good news is that also being a World Perks Member, these flights have qualified me for FREE travel to the Philippines on NWA.

In my younger, poorer days, I stayed at Pension Houses in Cebu. They ALL sucked (sorry). Unless money is real, real tight forget it. Why travel and be uncomfortable, fucking in dim light, shitty beds and lousy service?
My recommendations and NO, I am NOT bragging, but after 15 years and 60+ trips to Cebu City I know a little something. Metropolis Court Hotel has standard rooms for about P650 across the courtyard. These are nice with cable tv, air and room service plus the Wild Orchid Health Club. I had my daughter's yaya stay in one of these rooms several times when they all made the trip by boat from Leyte to see me.
Take advantage of the deal at Cebu Midtown Hotel if you use Cebu Pacific Air. This gets you a nice room for about P1000/nt. The Gorordo Hotel (old Park Place) can be had at a good price now also due to all the new hotel construction. The convenience of these last two hotels is great.
I fly 5-6 times a year from the USA to S E Asia and I always go to the Phils. I use NWA for the frequent flyer program (great) and I have a "platinum elite" card which gets me bumped into WBC most of the time. This trip on Wednesday I am flying WBC using my milage bank. Be back in Cebu before I hit Davao and Dumaguete.
As to purchasing your air tickets. I DO NOT use a filipino travel agent or any travel agent. Take the time and check the internet. Be flexible on your departure and return dates also. Avoid the peak season which is now through Sept 15 and Dec 15 - Jan 10. A ticket consolidator can help also but it takes a bit of time to search day by day for fares, which can vary quite a bit.

I took your advice on what you told me in your PM's to me, thanks. First off, I stayed at Midtown taking advantage of the cebu pacific deal of 1400p a night. Good location for almost everything only a 50p ride to Ayala or SM if needed. The Robinsons downstairs is so small, not even really worth shopping at for anything. Next time and for most guys I would recommend just staying at Metropolis Court Hotel like DS suggested, I went there to check out the Wild Orchid and found the hotel to be in decent shape. The rooms at Midtown were pretty small too especially since I wanted non-smoking and since I was using the cheapo Cebu Pacific rate, maybe they gave my friend and I the crappiest rooms or maybe they are all like that. Just imagine half the size of a normal hotel room and you have a midtown room and bathroom.
Checked out the Wild Orchid as DS suggested. Unfortunately went there early around 5pm only a few girls, everyone should go after 7pm when all the girls are there. Another thing is that the 400p is for hotel guests only for the massage, non-guest price is around 800 or more, you can get a membership for a one time fee of 800p or so and you get a slight discount. So your best bet is to stay at the hotel and then visit the Wild Orchid. I did have the guy at the bar DS suggested show me around and gave him my number but he never texted back and I was pretty busy so it didn't work out for me. Anyway, so I just look at the Wild Orchid and left.
I was there from last Monday to Friday not the weekend. Check out the bars down the street. Well, what happened to me is that my friend and I by pure chance met normal girls that had real jobs that we happened to meet, so we ended up hooking up with them for the duration of the week. So that's about all we did, took them out at night after they were done with work and since they were not working girls didn't have to pay and not worry about STD's as much but it ends up the same since you do have to take them out and things like that and spend money.
In the end though this time around I enjoyed my trip to Manila alot more. Last time Cebu was better. Also went to Angeles for the first time but I can tell you right now that I will never go back. Being that it's the Marriott and a name brand chain, the massages are usually legit, nothing extra unless you can convince the girl but usually they are not attractive or are worried about getting caught and fired. Go to the smaller local hotels and get a massage there if you want extras. Besides there are plenty of other places to go in cebu.

My suggestion for saving money is to avoid cebu and go to Angeles City, like I said before I spent time there and it is cheap, under $20. When I rag on the girls in AC, you have to understand that my standards are very high, the girls in AC are considered very attractive by men from Europe and/or America where they might not have seen many Asian woman or have a different standard of beauty, just stating my observations. Aside from a single night spent here at a conference a couple of months ago, I had not been to Cebu, and never done the "tour des boites" or the tour of the many clubs made infamous by this board. Therefore, I jumped at the chance to meet my buddy the Dragon Slayer for a week end revel, starting with the invitation only party at Metropolis Court and moving on from there.
The party, which was held in the main function room of the hotel started at 9. By ten the room was SRO, with about 400 guys and a sprinkling of ladies ogling the strippers parading out on the catwalk. As advertised by the Slayer, the price for taking one of them into a private room for an hour, for a "private show" was PhP1500. Neither the quality of the ladies or the general ambiance of the place created any desire to take advantage of this offer and, by about 10:30, I had seen enough stippers to last for a while. So I left the Slayer to enjoy the remaining festivities and headed out to exotica. The Slayer, who was with his regular woman from Cebu (who by the way, is gorgeous) did not have to need to avail himself of the club scene.
Exotica is by far the most down market of the places I visited, but the owner, Bill, is a good guy, makes you feel very welcome, and no one hassles you for ladies drinks, bar fines, or to take one of the 5 VIP rooms. After about 40 minutes I started fixating on a 19 year old dancer named Irene, and 1 ladies drink, and a 700 PhP bar fine latter was in the car with her and headed back to the Jacuzzi in my room. Bill had told me before I left the club to pay the lady about PhP1,000 and it was sure about the best value for money I have received in a long while. Clear something up for me. Does the barfine include the girls cost excluding tip or is it inclusive? Bar fines sound pretty high if you have to fork over another couple of thousand pesos to the girl herself. Just read Trim Keepers comments about the 700 peso versus 1500 peso "bar fine". So I'm getting a bit confused here as to what is included in the "bar fine" in PI (or in Cebu anyway).

It varies. In the places I visited in Cebu, the bar fines ranged from PhP600-750, and the girls got, depending on the quality of service (as judged by you) another 1000-1500. In Davao, the bar fines atmost places, range from PhP2,000 at Moonlight to about 3,000 at Roman Plaza, and include the girl's fee, and you pay nothing extra. The 1,500 to which Trim referred was not a bar fine, but the price for the VIP room, which does include the girl and, at least at Exotica, no time limit. Typically though, you will tip the girl PhP500 or so.
When I'm in a new place, I usually ask for the owner of the bar, who is typically an expat, and ask him what the prices are. Asking the mamasan often results in distorted versions of truth. In Davao, you can sometimes negotiate the rate when it includes the girl. At Plaza Roman, for example, the first time I was there, the quoted price was 3,500 and I wound up paying 2,500 after a negotiation that lasted less than a minute. I probably could have done better, but I was a newbie and did not push too hard.

OK. It's only fair to tell you why I am asking all these detailed questions. My friend and I are coming to Cebu in mid September and we are bringing a couple of girls from AC with us. Sorry, but I can only help with the bar fine question. I have a lousy sense of direction, and can only tell you that the bars are about a 5 minute taxi ride from the circle. All of the bars you mention, aside from Black Hole, charge a bar fine of PhP700-750 to take a girl out, and the girls seem to expect between Php1000-1,500. I decided what to pay them based on the quality of service and how much I like them. I should add that this was for an overnight stay. These girls were sure not pressed for time. The Black Hole charges only PhP600 for the bar fine, and I guess it's by far the best deal that I saw.
I do not do VIP rooms, but I understand from the Dragon Slayer that Exotica only charges him 1,500 for the room, and that includes drinks, so I don't know what Mahku was talking about. I like to take the girls back to my room. There's something about getting laid on a vinyl couch that turns me off. Especially since I know that thousands of guys have deposited evidence of their sexual encounters all over the same couch. Chac'un a son gout I guess.
I don't know why you're worried about ST hotels, unless you're with someone else. All of the places in Cebu seem to be girl friendly.
I think the Silver Dollar is the only place that's open during the day, but I do not think they have the regular staff on duty. Some girls who work there do drop in during daylight hours, but it's hit or miss. I think the best time to go is after 10, though the girls arrive a about 9. Thanks for the response. The analogy re: bringing the girls and bringing sand to the beach is pretty funny. This will be my first trip to Cebu and until I read the posts from you and your friends, I wasn't very convinced concerning what the nightlife with the girls would be like. Fire House looks to be maybe 3 to 5 minutes walk futher south on a side street to the left just past Cebu Community Hospital.
Exotica is near the Iglesia Ni Christo (Church) with Vikings across the street on Mango Avenue about a seven minute walk (1000 meters) directly east of Osema Fuente Circle.
I could not find the location of the Black Hole, but there are apparently a bunch of bars around Exotica/Viking and maybe it is one of those. Maybe someone can help me with this last bar's location.

Sad to say the taxi situation on arrival at Cebu Airport is getting more and more like Manila. The police now seem to be in collusion with chartered taxi interests to keep metered taxis out of the arrivals area. A metered taxi as far as the Midtown Hotel costs about 110. The taxi companies at the airport ask for 200. I know this is only about a buck and a half, but being charged double for something just doesn't sit right.
If you're traveling light enough you can take the stairs up to departures and get a metered taxi. Also if you're in the mood you can argue with the police and they may call a metered taxi for you to come down to arrivals. When I did this on my first time through on this trip both the police and the taxi touts were getting quite ill tempered about it, something else that's very Manila-like in normally laid back Cebu. I just kept insisting until they did their job.
Second time through I was with GoodEnough and he watched our bags while I went up to departures and grabbed a metered taxi. But again it took lots of argueing with the police to let the taxi into the arrivals area.
So when you arrive in Cebu be prepared to just pay 200 or battle it out with the scammers.

He must be willing to take us to from Cebu to Moalhoal for a half day snorkle trip and then Kasawan Falls and then back to Cebu for an all day trip. He must arrive early in the first morning after our first night stay for this trip. Maybe will have a 6 AM departure from hotel. We will do another half day snorkel trip the following and some other stuff on Mactan or Cebu City where his skills will be required. We will need his services on the last day to take us shopping and then to the airport.
He must be available to pick us up at the airport when we arrive. (Sat., Sept 11 @ 6:45 PM). He must be available at hotel to take us to the airport the day we depart. (Tue., Sept 14 @ 4:00 PM)
If we agree to pay for his gas, can you tell me what his service would cost? If the service is good, we will provide him with meals and provide a generous tip which would be above the cost of his service."

My advice would be not to bother with the hassle or expense of advance booking. Just find a taxi driver while you're there and make a deal with him. There are tons of taxis, and I've found some polite, knowledgeable drivers whose English was at least understandable. You could probably grab one for the whole day for less than PhP1000. They all know every club, beach, resort and decent bar in town.
Come to think of it, you do not really need a full time taxi because availability is never a problem and each one can take you wherever you want to go.

Yep, your probably right. we will just negotiate when we get there. By putting the Moalhoal trip off a day, we will have the time to find a driver for that full day trip.
My major concern was not worrrying about finding a taxi when we were out at the snorling sites. That's not probably going to be a big problem either.

I have been to Cebu over sixty times in the last 14 years. You do not need to hire a driver and it will be expensive if you do. All abs are small but hold four people. Most drivers speak english on a "first grade level". Only time it is hard to get a cab is rush hour from 4:00PM - 7:00PM, especially on a Friday.

Why Cebu and not AC? AC is fine also, but I need to visit the Korean Consulate and Manila is a rat race! Cebu has a Korean Consulate however. At least according to the WEB site. Can anyone confirm this?

It's Sept and the bars/clubs are quite quite here. My best advise about bars is don't go to the ones the in the center of things. As far as I can tell the silver dollar is one of the worste places i've ever been to. there seem to be as many guys as chicks and the chicks ain't anything to write home about.
I think it was Thunderdome I went to last night. Actually passed it in a cab going to another bar and had to walk back to it to check it out. It's a 4k peso barfine! There's one other bar with a massive barfine that is 6k peso. Hope I'm not mixing up the name of thunderdome but it's one of the 2 expensive ones.
There is no doubt that some of these 4k barfine girls are worth it and can't be found elsewere. There were 2 VERY solid 9.Xs last night. One's a virgin and the other was already barfined by someone that hadn't shown up.
The deal with the less expensive bars, like black hole, is that you've gotta have your game down and be patient if your someone that's watching how much you spend. you've gotta be able to scope out all the available talent without getting too stuck with one in particular until you're ready. I'm by no means an expert, but I do have what it takes for the girls to be drawn to me (age, looks, personality).
So, I tend to strike up very non-commital conversations and be ready to move on if I don't like the way someone acts. Be nice but don't act attached and talk to as many girls as you can.

I first heard of Thunderdome back in1992 on my 4th trip to Phils. It was a predominently Japanese CLub then and high prices. I never paid it any attention after hearing one guy say it took over 30 minutes before anyone would offer him a drink.
I still like the Firehouse for the "best quality" Pussy on appearances. Girls are young and lovely. Almost totally nude while dancing with see through bras and panties. Open the bra all the time to show tits. Manger is a nice lady. P 750 barfine & P1000 to the girl is a lot cheaper than Thunderdome. Have been in Cebu and Manila several times and would like to share my knowledge with you.
Street action in Cebu City is located at Kamagayan which is near down town. All taxi driver know about it. Taxi driver usually telling you that these girls are dirty, which is nonsense. They are trying to lure you into brothels where they get a share. Girls are not waiting outside, instead touts, or so called "Bugao". As soon a taxi is arriving they are swarming out like flies. There are probably more than hundred girls. Just keep sitting in the car and tell them what you prefer and don't let them come inside. After a few minutes they bring some girls with your preferences. If you are not satisfied, let them bring another group. They are going as often as you want. After you made your choice let the girl come into the car. Bugaos usually start with 1000 Peso for short time which is three hours. But do me a favour and don't pay that price. The going rate is definitely 500 peso. Tell them in your best English that you know the system, which is as follows: The girl gets 150 Peso, 150 for mamasan and the rest for the bugaos. So when you pay more the money only goes to them. But they are fully satisfied with 200. The touts are trying to cheat you when you hand over the money. The quickly change the bank note you have given to them into a smaller ones. Just hold the money clearly in front of them. When you are going to leave, they are begging for more and they tell you ten thousand reasons. Just be firm, they won't harm you. It sounds scaring but when you follow my advice you are safe and won't have any problem. Girls are generally friendly. Many come from Mindanao. Treat them with respect and they can do a lot for you. There English is sometimes not the best. You find everything from ugly to beautiful. Tip the girl 100 - 200 and she will go next day again with you. You also can make an appointment with her without involving the man in the middle. They certainly will appreciated 500 for them alone. They used to be free in the afternoon. There is also the possibility to get a so called VIP girl. Which means taller, whiter skin and bigger ass. For those girls you have to get the cell phone number of her mamasan. The girls usually have mamasans number. Text them and they make an appointment with you (any burger restaurant). Going rate is 1000, no touts involved, girls sometimes students from Cebu.
If you are with family or you dont like to bring them to your hotel, go to Best Inn Hotel (short time around 300) or Sogo Hotel (short time around 200) which is nearby. Another spot for street pick ups is Juana Osmena street.

On my last visit to Cebu, I got away from the old lady and got a taxi can driver to take me to a house in Cebu City in the middle of the afternoon. They sat me in a large room, and then they went and got about 20 girls to wake up for me to choose from. I was nervous, since it was my first time going there, and asked if they could get me a cold San Miguel. All the girls looked at me, gigling, and hoping I would pick them.
After a couple of San Miguels, I finally choosed a dark young beauty and paid my 2000 pesos (40 dollars). The taxi cab took us to a short time hotel and I fucked her for a couple of hours. I know you guys will tell me I paid too much for Cebu, and it wasn't even for the whole night. But I had to get back to my old lady, before I got in trouble. I had fun, I was on vacation!

That sounds like "Happy Valley" or "Hana Valley" as it's sometimes referred to . I was there in 2003 and had the best experience of my 3 week trip . I bet I was more nervous than you when I saw those gates closing behind the taxi ! I went during the afternoon as well but they must have had more like 40 girls to choose from . I paid the same in spite of my best negotiations . They started at 2500 or 3000 and I could only get them down to 2000 . I guess they knew I found a girl I liked .
Actually when I went there , I was looking for "Monets" . I don't think I ever found it but this place was a good find . Monets is supposed to have the higher end girls and I asked several taxi drivers to go there . They all seemed confused and spoke little English . One said that Happy Valley WAS Monets . I'd still like to find Monets . In any event , I'm glad it's still operating as I'm going to be there in a few weeks .
Last time I stayed at the Marriott for $55 a night on an internet special . It was a great deal but I felt removed from the action way up in the business park . I am vacillating now about staying at Eddie's Hotel or at the Waterfront Lahug for $60 from www.asiatravel.com . wow, i come to cebu for a very extended time and this board goes relatively dead.
so, some comments from me.
first of all: octoberfest!
wow! it's by ayala mall and started today. from the looks of it i think this is just an incredible scoring opportunity. outdoor partying with lots of beer and lots of gorgeous young woman-- often in the dark where they're not embaressed. surely some of you went to this tonight. i can wait to go soon.
actually girls are to shy to approach me and do something like say "hi", but with the festive party atmosphere, i walked by for just a moment on my way to a businesss meeting and a girl came right up to me and almost jumped on me. it goes on all month with outdoor live music. damn, the best bands in cebu are amazing. i'm from the us.
if any of you guys are in your 20s and 30s and at least mildly educated and mildly not fat, we could have something in common and i'd be interested in meeting and going on the prowl at night at this beer fest. also, i have a trick that works really well. wear a tie. yes a tie, people think you are very important if you are a westerner wearing a tie and work/dress cloths (you may actually have to be working here to do that as i am).
i've met quite a number of woman from the online dating sites. one thing you should be prepaired for is that the girls will assume you are what they call a "playboy" (hmmmm) merely by the fact that you've met them this way and if you are living in town for an extended stay. good looks have worsened this problem for me. they all have made up there mind that i sleep around which means i can't get something going with even a relatively good girl.
my problem too is these girls tend to get very attached very quickly. it's not my style to let them do this, bone 'em, and dump 'em. one girl i met online i boned and thought she considered it casual. instead, she got obsessed with the importance of our session and was determined to keep me in her life which i didn't want.
you need to be pretty outoing to pick up at the malls. i haven't really even focused on this approach of walking up and starting conversations. it's so easy but so many people like me are too lazy. no doubt it would be easy from the limited number of women i've met.
regarding the bars, if you want the cheapest, i think it's black hole. this is the place to go if your patient. i'm amazed at how empty some of the bars are this time of year. you can really score. overall the girls in the bars here are not too impressive. but, if you're in a place with over 20 dancers and you're the only guy to show up un-announced, you score the #1 in the house who in 3/4 of the places is a 8.5-9 (actually, the absolute #1-#3 girls are never even available 'cause they've been bar-fined before they start work) .
as for the spa ds mentioned, i've been twice. the first time the girl was hot. she got quite wet too. the second time the girl was quite overweight but i had no idea 'cause they wear draping dresses. i would never be turned on by someone like her, but she was dripping wet once we went at it, was very into it, and also had a super cute face (she'd be a babe if she lost 15-25 pounds)
i'm curious, how do you guys have long sessions with girls that just aren't capable of staying wet for more than 30 minutes. at this point i know for sure that i need to bring some lube around with me.

Just get into a taxi and tell him you to take you to find some girls. I just remember the place was in downtown Cebu City. I went during the day and paid 1000 pesos for the girl. I'm sure the taxi drivers would hook you up. I will be living in Cebu and Leyte starting in December, so send me a message and we can go drinks some San Miguels and find some good places. Take care!
