I thought I smelled something fishy when I read this report. It is almost a carbon copy of a report that was posted by Dragon Slayer on Nov. 8, 2003.
BUSTED
It's maybe a lot of work, but maybe you can post the link so we there is no guessing about this? Thanks.

I remember this post from the DS and this is, if not a verbatim rip off, at least almost so. This was posted several months ago, and I have neither the time nor inclination to go find it, but I do remember it well.

If you don't want to try the bikini bars here in Cebu, you can have a taxi driver take you to Junquera (pronounced Hunkerah). Its an alley way near University of San Carlos. There are a lot of girls who hang out there and they charge P500.

My first experience there I took a taxi to Junquera and many girls came to my taxi. I liked two girls there so they both got in the taxi and I gave the pimp P200 plus p500 for each girl. The taxi brought me to Sogo Hotel which is in downtown cebu not to far from San Carlos.

One girl was from Mindanao and she looked like she was half american. The other girl was pretty but a little chubby. They stayed with me all night and I fucked the mestiza or half foreigner girl twice and the other girl once.

The only problem with messing with these girls that you never know their true age. Also these girls might not have the medical card they get from city health.

You can also find girls on the street near the port area on the highway going from SM mall to Lapulapu. They also charge p500. There are no pimps along that highway.

Good hunting!

In cebu there are plenty of short time motels. They usually cost about p250 for 3 hours. Here is a list that I have visited so far:

Valleyfront on Happy Valley Street.

Queensland near SM mall (There are 2 of them, right across from each other)

Prince Court in Mabolo area next to Mandaue.

Queensland in LapuLapu

All of these are good places to take a lady for some short time fun!

Good Hunting!

Thanks for the post Joe,

I noticed some girls there one night and thought about going back to investigate. I never made it. If I recall, there is a large abandoned building there and maybe a large Chinese restaurant.

Where would you tell the taxi driver to go?

[QUOTE=Aussiegirl]Hi Guys,

Have been a lurker for awhile and have enjoyed some of your chit-chat.

A couple of questions, if you wouldn't mind.

1. What is the Cadillac Cafe like in Cebu? Planning on staying a couple of days soon. Completely straight/ just a quick, cheap stop before moving on. Your thoughts appreciated.

2. I've managed to work out most of the abbreviations but FKK and DATY have me stumped! Have a close idea but would would love to know these terms.

Cheers,

Aussie girl;

I've been to the Cadillac a few times it is in Lapu Lapu city, the place is run by an American from Alabama, guy looks like ZZ top and is the nicest guy you ever want to meet. He done up the place like a classic american "roadhouse" complete with James dean movie posters and "Harley Davidson" Memorabillia on the walls. It is a nice place to go for dinner as they serve good western food which all of us Expats miss. The place offers a live (Filipino) band and a small dance floor, stage, bets time is of course Fri/Sat nights but they get a nice crowd there al lthe time. Lots of Filipinos there as well as Western Expats, most guys with their wives or GF's, a few single ladies, I'm sure a few western ladies will brighten the place up. (You might also want to check out the sunflower dance club in Cebu, I see more western women there all the time)

As an added bonus at Cadillac you can rent motor bikes during the day to tour neapby Lapu lapu beach scene.

good luck

I cannot contribute anything as far as the Metropolis Court Hotel is concerned.

However, I spent four nights in Cebu about a month ago. While at Club Exotica I talked with Bill who told me he no longer owned the club (he pointed out the new owner). There were about 6 women in the place, the best of the bad lot was "not barfining tonight."

Metropolis Court Hotel, V Rama Ave, Guadalupe, Cebu City 032-255-7541. Guys I have been going to the Philippines for 13 years now at least 3-6 times a year. This Hotel is out of the way but it is great.

A suite room with a jacuzzi will run you P 1500. That is about $ 27/nt for a room with a jacuzzi big enough for you and 3-4 ladies. Where do you get the ladies? Second Floor is the Wild Orchid Massage parlor. Hotel guests pay P 400 ($ 7.15) for a 1 hr massage. Choose from up to 25 ladies at peak time in the evening or do like me and just phone up from your room (why bother climbing the stairs. I had better luck this way).

Extra service at the Wild Orchid runs about P 1000 but they may try for more. I have had a girl in my room for 2-3 hours and fucked one girl 3 times; once before in the jacuzzi and twice after. Paid her P 2000 but she took P 1500 each time after that. Never did her less than twice, plus a good massage.

They also have a KTV on the second floor. Girls are hot but it gets expensive fast. Ladies drinks are P 250; private room is P 1500 and I heard the girls ask P1000 to P 2000 for BBj or F in the rooms.

You can pick girls up outside at the Sari Sari Store or one of the other stores down the street. Bartenders can direct you to several brothels (casas) in the neighborhood or have a lady delivered at no additional charge.

Deluxe rooms on second floor are fabulous and I stay there when my Woman and daughter (yes the hotel is also children friendly) arrive from the Province. Hotel is VERY discreet about this and I have had no unfortunate incidents. A deluxe room is P 1050/nt. Two queen size beds and a refrigerator.

Best local club is Club Exotica, a 10 min (P45) cab ride from the hotel. Owner is Bill from Portland, He has 25 girls and 4 Private Rooms. Rooms are P 1500, including drinks and a girl. I always go to one of these . Never had less than a great fuck and BBj; tip maybe P 500 after, maybe less.

I will be back end of this month if anyone wants to hook up.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I certainly hope that the author or somebody else will post a link to this report in the Reports of Distinction thread. Please Click Here (http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/announcement-reportsofdistinction.php?) for more information.

XTell the taxi to drive to SM mall and go past the mall to the highway going to Lapalapu. When the taxi driver takes a left on the highway, look on your right side and you will see girls hanging out especially near a park. They are only there around 11 pm to 3 am.

Also if you go on Mango Avenue from Fuente Osmena, You will find a Jollibee on the right side. Across the street is a gas station and a National Bookstore. On that street you will find girls hanging out for P500. They are usually there around 11 pm to 3am also. Watch out, sometimes you will see some bayots or she males trying to make some money too.

Take care!

I went to the Crown Regency one night to check out the action. The girls at the KTV there were not that attractive. I went to the check out the girls at the Massage Parlor and they were not that pretty also. One girl was "do" able for my taste so I got a massage and paid aroudn P400 I think. I ask the girl if we could have sex afterwards and she told me P2000! It was way too much for me but I finally ended up giving her P1000 because I was so horny! I wont be going back there again!

Good hunting!

I just spent two weeks September in Cebu. I stayed at Marco Polo for two night. It's not the new hotel building by the SM Mall is Sheraton... I think the Sheraton is still closed because of permit problem. Marco Polo used to be the Plaza and it's on Veterans Drive, Nivel Hills. It went through renovation and has nice rooms, but I think they forgot to upgrade the water pump--the hotel is on the hill the water pressure was low. Still prefer the Marriott because of its location

So where is the marcopolo. is it the building beside the sm mall. there is also a parklane hoyel being built somewhere.

Ah, the old Cebu Plaza

Stayed there years ago, I agree it is too far away. We were in a taxi and we had to change taxis cos the taxi didnt have enough power to get up the hill. Used to be a good disco downstairs.

One of my penpals' (good girl, always had a chaperone, but definitely "old school" whoever marries her will have a great wife) whole family worked at Cebu Plaza. The father, who then opened up a sari sari in Nivel Hills (interesting neighborhood, across the street from the hotel and down a cement walk of steps that had wall to wall cement houses), brothers, sister and step mother. Only one still working there in 2001 was the younger brother who was the head chef at the resto down from the main building.

They also had a nice dinner buffet, went there a couple of times.

The Marriott is my favorite hotel anywhere, was made to feel quite the celebrity in my 60 or so nights there. At present rates (and at present income, LOL), I would have to stay elsewhere, but then there are other hotels at 1/4 the price, they are just not the Marriott.

Knew a 3rd year HRM "intern" at Marriott, commuted from other side of Danao City every day at her own cost for no pay to intern there for 9 months or 1 year. I slipped her some "quiet tips" (so that she didn't have to put in the tip kitty). Last one, for P1,000 she gave to her mother to "finish the house". (This was just before I left and was a "cumulative tip", if you will.) Anyhow, she told me that any intern or contract worker that Marriott did not keep was still OK, they just went elsewhere for more $$$, as Marriott had that kind of rep. (Side note: Ditto for a famous accounting firm in MNL, one of their honchos bragged that anyone that left their employ commanded much more elsewhere, DUH.)

Ok, had my say, sorry it was so long.

Thanks Spam Hog.

Back from Cebu now & saw your response a little late, however Cadillac Cafe was exactly as you described. Certainly a stroke of genius spending time there rather than the sterile resorts down the road.

Owner is a gem.

Would have liked to spend more time looking around, but it was just a quick visit this time.

Danced like I haven't danced for years to a great band called "South" something. Too many drinks! Who could certainly have held their own on any Aussie stage. Enough Filipino women attending the Friday night band scene who looked "available", which will probably interest the guys on this site.

Anyway, thanks for the info. Cheers.

Spam Hog,

Sorry, not me dancing at your disco scene. Was just a quick visit and only managed to get some real hip shaking done at the Cadillac. If I visit again, I'll get the details of the other clubs from you.

For X Man, who would like some "info", I didn't go to sample the Filipino women so can't give the sort of detailed advice you are probably looking for. However, from what I noticed, the Cadillac Cafe puts on a great disco. There were more than several Filipino women (all young and attractive, probably well employed etc) looking very available and interested in my male friend who was more than happy to be the only bloke on a dance floor comfortably filled with ladies!! Thought he was in heaven, poor bugger!!

Drinks were reasonable - San Mig P35 I think, great pizza and food, friendly staff (but probably not "available"), rooms very clean and from US50 per night. We loved the place, but again, not looking for your type of action.

I particularly enjoyed being away from the main drags.

We made friends easily and I can see that it could be a pleasant place to base yourself for more intimate encounters. Clean, air-con, friendly, security etc

Now, in return, how can I find a decent bloke, with a strong sex drive, in Sydney?

X Man
10-19-06, 10:10
Actually, I was more interested in location, type of music, atmosphere, etc. The Sunflower (Cebu) and Venue (in Davao) are very large. I'll have to check out CC next trip.

Thanks for the info.

I can't help you with Syndney boys, although one told me a really cute joke the other day.

What is the Australian definition of "a woman"?
Life support for a vagina.

X Man and any other who may be interested:

There has been plenty of discussion on Clubs in Cebu on this board. But Let me give you all a rundown and a "retired" mongers view.

Sunflower is by far the most popular club. Thursday is Ladies night and ladies get a drink free (big deal) weekdays entrance is P100 weekends P 150. This place is operated by Koreans (you will see dozens of them there everynight students age from the nearby schools) and they raised the price to keep it rather exclusive. Time was when one could find a number of "freelancers" working the place but now not so much, still a lot of unattached women though. This is more becoming a place to take your date than a pickup place is was a few years back. Bands play Filipino rap, hip hop etc. Drinks are rather expensive comparitively san mig is P90. You can walk to it from Northwinds hotel in Lahug.

Within walking distance of Sunflower is a smaller club called "Latino" something or other, I understand this is where some of the crowd goes who cant afford sunflowers cover charge. I haven't been in it yet, only drove past and saw what looked like a lot of ladies out front (they have a grill) but will check out this week or next

Ratskys, smaller and less "rowdy". Live bands play much the same music but the atmosphere is a little bit more upscale, One can usually find more "professional" type ladies (Doctors, lawyers, etc.) here. The cover charge varies, lately they had only charged on the weekends, well aware of the price increase from sunflower. This place is located in the resturaunt section of Ayala Mall and you can sit at one of the coffee shops outside and watch the occassional "working" girl stroll by looking for a foreigner.

Sinners and Saints is located across from Country Mall Gaisano in Banilad. Times I was there the crowd was very upscale, few foreigners go here mostly Filipinos, sort of like Ratskys. I dont think you find any freelancers working here but you get lot of looks (inviting) from the ladies. Live band weekends, cover too. Drinks a bit high.

The Pump, is located by the convention center on Archbishop reyes ave. Poorly marked but taxi drivers knows it. No cover to ladies except on friday Sat night. Live band is rare mostly a DJ who plays what he likes, ie some US intercity Ghetto rap that is hard to dance to. Drinks are very reasonable. Very few foreigners go here, I went twice and as was the only white face around. Crowd is real friendly though. I saw several ladies dancing and flirting and it is likely a single guy could probably score, however I was with the Mrs both times. As an added bonus you can probably tag a streetwalker out front after midnight. Some of these girls looked better than the colon street, shabu head variety.

The Cadillac is located in LApu Lapu City, I described it to Aussiegirl as sort of a takeoff on an American roadhouse, owner is from Alabama and a good "good ol boy" who takes an interest in all his "foreigner" guests. As you've read there is a live Filipino band, playing usual "Pinoy pop" a dance floor and the ladies shake their stuff. Cover is P150 0n weekends. Second Tier is some nice billiard tables.

Just to add to SH's post. I went to Sinners and Saints once with a date and felt a bit uncomfortable since most tables were occupied by large boisterous groups. My beer was warm and I asked for ice. The band was okay. Shortly after drinks were served we were asked to move to make room for a larger group. Yes, I felt that the people were friendly, but service sucked. I certainly wouldn't recommend going alone. Find a wingman or two.

One place I liked for the food and atmosphere was a place called Badger. I think that was the name. This is on the same side as Sinners and Saints, but further along, just past the mall (the one with Lighthouse restaurant). It had a dance floor and room for a band upstairs, but when I was there it was being used by a teacher and mostly Filipina students doing salsa. Some cute ones...and the teacher was a bit loose in the loafers. I was with a date, so not sure what, if anything, was available.

Badger has potential. Downstairs is large sports bar and dining area with large screen tvs. The food is good. Prices are relatively high in fitting with it's upscale / expat atmosphere.

It's probably about a year old now.

If your hotel won't allow such an early checkin (i.e. 4am), you can always stay at one of the short time hotels such as Kings Court, Queensland or Sogo. For 3 hrs, I think is is 250P. They have other deals for longer periods as well

You might even be able to find a lady before getting the room. I know that there a girls hanging around the gas station near Mango Square/Raintree Mall at 4 am, but they are usually gone by sunrise. The ones you'll see at this time are the ones that didn't make the $$$ for their pimp. Pretty scraggly.

BTW: I was told by a taxi driver that the girls here are pretty desperate at this time of night. The drivers will sometimes negotiate for a 50 -100 Pesos blowjob from the girls. Or, if the girls have no cash, then a blowjob for a ride home.

Anybody else know where to go to help this guy score at 4 am?

Buko Max

Find out if the hotel has a day rate. If they have vacancies, you should be able to nagotiate a short stay and ask them for a late check out. You might have to make a few calls better yet inquire via the net. This strategy has worked for me several times.

For those that remember this place from a few years ago you will be happy to know it is open again under another name. Went there with mates a week ago and it has certainly gone upscale. One of the owners said Thursday nights onwards are best. Wonderful view of city lights from the glassed off bar area at the end. Worth a try for something different. It has lost that bad sock smell now.

Pump, watch out for crazy Koreans, they often cause trouble there. Saw one pushed through plate glass entrance door a month ago. Pump security handed over to the police van that is staitioned there to cater for such regular incidents. Lots plain clothes police there as well. Be nice and you will have no problems, but do not go there with new "tourist" attitude.

Anyone that has been in Cebu a while knows cadillac cafe owner has two sides, not always the nice one some people put forward here.

Great to hear Club Circus in Lahug is open again. Every taxi driver knows it. Been going since 1970's , closed , now re opened. Best pick up Disco ever in Cebu , no doubt about that. Next trip my first stop will be Club Circus. Hookers will not go to Sunflower or Ratskys now they will go where the money goes , Club Circus.

Gentlemen:

Confirmed on this about Club Circus. Last night (Wednesday) Mrs Spamhog decided she wanted to go out and dance, since TV sucked I said sure why not? Anyhow I mentioned club circus to the cabbie on our way to Sunflower.
He said it was closed but MIGHT be open again under new name...not sure of the new name he said. I decided not to pres the issue.

Got off at the Sunflower complex about 10 at night. Walked up to LATINO
which is about 100 yards north of Sundflower. More of a bar than anything else. A few ladies on the small dance floor no live band or DJ but dancing to tunes on a Tape deck I suppose. Didn;t stay long. Went into Sunflower, made the following observations.

SLOWWWW night, counted 17 single ladies, most were in groups of 3 to five, some obviously celebrating a birthday with their little Barkada mates. 7 foreigner Filipina couples of which me and Mrs were one. 2 foreigners a guy and his wing man at the bar. Lots of Filipino couples again people celebrating. Around 11 pm a herd of Koreans come in mostly male, drunk, a few with nerdily dressed GF's.

3 single Korean girls whom I know are regulars.

Around midnight two byots walk in, one must have gone to Bangkok for a professional looking boob job. Later these two put on a little show of their own dancing on the raised dias for the salivating Koreans, either too drunk or too dumb to realize they were oogling TV.s.

Left around 1 30AM a few girls looking and flirting but not many in comparison to the "yesterdays"

Anyhow, went outside and saw that the joint right in front of Sunflower "kasadja" was full of roistering filipinos, LOTS of single women dancing etc. They apparently have a special dance night every wednesday or Thursday, might be worth checking out. Walked up to Latino...dead as shit.

hailed a cab and asked him about club circus...this is what he said.

Club Circus was indeed up and running, under new owner, apparently the name has changed, he is not sure of the new name BUT it is in the same area of (MANGO SQUARE) which is technically NOt lahug but this is close to robinsons mall.

Kind of late, Mrs Spamhog tired so we went home without checking it out however possibility we may pay it a visit this weekend, I will give a full mongering potential report so stay tuned.

My cloose friend checked out Club Circus couple of days ago. Now I am talking about the one and only club circus been there since noahs ark , its up on a hill , nothing to do with mango anything. I am talking about that club circus on lahug hill.

Its name is now Jive and at 11pm it was emptyh said friend and too upmarket for the kind of freelan cers we used to meet at old club circus. There is a slight chance that someone has started u8p a Club Circus at Mango whatever , that is a chance and I hope it is so because Jive will not jive with the freelance girls P150 entrance owners trying to attract a different clientele , very nice interior by the way.

my friend said 'club circus' to taxi driver and he headed up the hill where thousands of taxi drivers have done so years before , he didnt head any where near mango thingo. so lets know fellas if there really is a new club circus NOT on the hill . then it might be good news cause Jive on the hill isnt gonna do it.

Hello,

There is no action whatsoever near the hotel because of it's isolated location.
At the very least you need to drive into Lapu Lapu for any possible action.
That hotel is a BYOB kind of place.

Angeles barfine and girls remuneration is incl in the EWR (1200 pesos generally) and you are only compelled to give the girl a extra tip if she rocked your world. I would give 500 plus if she gave very good serice, 200-300 for average and 100 or less if she makes you yawn waiting for her to undress..
Now in Cebu apart from Papillion and maybe some other few clubs, you pay the barfine and tip the girl in the morning as you would in Thailand/Manila.

What's the EWR?

What's the EWR?

EWR = Early Work Release, a term the bars started using in the last few years.

You pay the bar for the loss of income for her leaving early.

Someone's idea of being politically correct, as a barfine implies sex may be involved.

We all know prostitution is illegal in AC, and the bars are just meeting places, lol

Hey guys,

I am going to be in China in a few weeks for work, and just picked up a HK-Cebu flight for one of the weekends as a change of scenery. I will be staying at the Marriot. I've been trying to go through the forums, but was wondering if you could help me out with pointing me in the right direction for some fun.

MP. Depends on what kind of fun you are looking for.

There are several discos in Cebu that have djs or live bands. If you are looking for a regular girl, these places can be fun. Maybe better if you have a wingman as the girls are always in groups. One of the places that always draws a weekend crowd is called Sunflower. Any taxi driver can take you there (just ask him to take you to "Sunflower disco").

If you are looking for straight p4p, you have a lot of options. In an area called Funte Osmena there are several bars where you can find a companion for the night. Ask a taxi driver to point out Silver dollar, Vikings, BG's, Black Hole. All in the same area.

Note that depending on who and mood of some posters, you are risking getting flamed for your question. There is a huge amount of great information available to you on the forum. Just read back thru several pages of history. Many good posters on the Cebu thread. Pay special attention to Spam Hog, Cebu Local, X-man, several others. Pretty much everything you need to know from discos, to places to barfine, to costs, to even how to get from the airport to your hotel (without getting ripped off) are already here for you to read.

After you read the forum, if you still have questions, just ask. Many will jump in to help.

Hey CS,

Thanks a ton. Yeah, I appreciate the flaming risk. But, I am limited in the amount of time I have to read the forum to when I have the house solo, which is semi-rare. So, I figured the direct path would be the best.

Thanks for the initial info. I will indeed dig more and ask as more questions pop up. I've gotten myself set with the room at the Marriott and I've been playing on CB the past couple of days. Hopefully this all lines up.

If anyone else can help, I'd love to hear the suggestions.

Thanks again!

I am at the Shangri-La Mactan in two days time and was wondering what is the action around this hotel. If anyone has FL contacts, I would appreciate it if you can PM me. As I am also new to the action in Cebu, I would appreciate it if my fellow friends can impart some learnings. Thank you.

If you go across the bridge you enter Mandaue City. Read the threads and you will find bars there. Also, the Cadillac has freelancers, which is on Mactan.

CS gave you enough information to get you started on a really good time. Ask the taxi driver to take you to Black Hole Bar, or Viking bar. There are numerous places lined up together and a few others not far from there. One place I like to hit is Lone Star Bar. It a few blocks away from the main action, but was a lot of fun earlier this year.

As for your CB friends, meet them at Ayala Mall which is near the Mariott. Ayala has a section of bars and restaurants that stay open later than the rest of the mall. Ratsky's is fun if you want to check out a live band.

Just a few things to add to the excellent advice, there are a number of malls in Cebu where freelancers will approach you and "regular" girls will flirt with you & maybe give you a phone number if you do it right. Ayala mall used to be a hot spot but security shoes 'em away nowadays. Instead try Robinsons Mall...You will see a coffee shop on GF entrance with a bunch of foreigners hanging around, order a cup of coffee and wait, the girls will troll by you.

Last week I went to the top floor of SM mall, a place called venetains Coffee shop, right next door is a "netopia" internet, I sat outside at a little table sipping a cappachino and read the paper, noticed a lot of girls going in to the Net to chat, a few looked my way, had a freelancer hang around outside and give me "the look', I wasn;t interested and Mrs Spamhog was almost done with her xmas shopping so I ignored her.

Downstairs is a place called the french bakery, you will notice a lot of Local foreigners hanging out near the entrance eyeing up the the passing parade of
poon, some of these guys score with the regular tarts that show up, but frankly I'd be careful as the girls look real young to me, too young.

Good luck

I am a Pattaya resident forced to consider a new "home" because of Thai Immigration total crazyness.Tomorrow I will be on my plane to Manila and then on the bus to Angeles City where I have booked 1 week at an hotel. My return ticket to Bangkok anyway will be 2 weeks later so was thinking of exploring also Cebu. I have noted anyway that Cebu City is very big so where should I look for an hotel not too far from action and guestfriendly ? Also from Angeles to Cebu what is better, direct flight from Clark or bus to Manila and then flight to Cebu?

Having Lived in LOS before PI I understand. Regarding your hotel in Cebu I would check out Richmond hotel, Very monger oriented, but make sure you give the guard or the night manager a P 20 or P 50 note once in a while. Very centrally located from the Mongering areas and bars (mango street/square), I used to walk to them in the "old" days when I mongered with abandon, especially "lonestar" my favorite. You can walk to Ayayla Mall, taxi to Ayala or bar area should be around P50. You are very close to Equitable bank on Gorodo ave and a working ATM 24/7, plus dont forget all the "freelancer" places and bars like Sunflower and Ratskys close by. Do a search on this thread back a few weeks you'll find most of your questions answered by a number of different mongers.

As to flights check into Cebu pacific's websites for schedules from Angeles (pampanga/Clark) to Manila/Cebu, they just got some new planes and have expanded their coverage of PI locale's. Also check into Asian Spirit which is starting to expand likewise. You could take a bus from Angeles to Manila about 2 hrs as I recall, you might check with the monger oriented "swagman" who runs a shuttle service, but IMHO I would avoid Manila and fly direct if possible.

On a personal note I think you will find the mongering in PI a bit different than LOS, Angeles is much touted but I dont think it holds a candle to Bangkok's nanaplaza or even Pattaya beer bars. Cebu is more laid back but I think you will enjoy the change or perhaps the challenge.

I think it is slightly cheaper to take bus and fly from Manila, but may not be worth the extra time and effort.
Mango Park Hotel and West Giorordo are not bad. Mango Park is more laid back and less expensive (you can take 13c jeepney(8 pesos) to Ayala Mall across the street). West Giorordo(deluxe) has balcony and bathtub, though. Mango has 2 small beds, but just put them together, it's fine.
Also, where both have breakfast included, Giorordo has breakfast as roomservice as an option at no extra cost. Nice in the morning on balcony.
Taxis are about 30 pesos from either location to Ayala Mall.

Hey Tylenol,
Where have you scored Cialis at a pharmacy in Cebu without perscription?

I'd like to try C or V out just to see if it has any effect (don't "need" it yet, but want to see if it adds anything to the fun).

I was approached by many street hawkers when I was last in Manila, but just don't trust that the stuff they have is legit (despite the impressive packaging materials).

You can PM me if you prefer, or just post here.

If Tylenol can't hook you up, I have an online pharmacy and can help. We don't sell in the Phils (not allowed due to local laws) but, I can deliver since you're in Cebu.

I'm heading to HKG for a week, but can help after that. Just let me know.

Can also get most other meds.

If any of you get Stuck over the next few days (can't find a room or get "evacuated" from yours to make way for a VIP staffer) give me a PM I can help out, the place is a smaller out of the way hotel managed by a friend of Mrs Spamhog's, most of the tenants there are long time Koreans who go to school, but the hotel isn't too bad, if you dont mind the smell of Kim chi Ac, Cable and hot water for under P1000. And the manager assures me there are a number of vacancies this week.

I just arrived Cebu less than 24 hours ago but feel I have some useful info to share. Here goes...

I got a map of Cebu (free) at the information booth in the domestic baggage claim area of the Cebu airport. This is useful and recommended.

I'm staying at the Richmond Hotel in a "superior" room for 1300 PHP/night. They also offer Standard rooms (1100 PHP/night) and Deluxe rooms (1600 PHP/night). Rate includes breakfast for 2. Hotel is GF and seems centrally located between Ayala Mall (in one direction) and Robinson's Mall/Place (ni the other direction). I feel both malls are walking distance and have walked from one to the other but everyone keeps telling me to take taxi's. I know taxi's are cheap but I tend to not learn anythng that way and, being on vacation, I'm not in a hurry. This hotel is kinda dumpy in my opinion, but I've stayed in worse and its okay by me for the 2 nights I will stay here. Oh, there are many Korean students here. They come here for 3-month stints and study English in classes at the hotel.

Ayala Mall is large and houses all the usual mall-type stores as well as Ratsky's bar which stays open late and offers live music (and the possible opportunity to pick up freebies). In walking around the mall I got "the look" a couple times on a Sunday evening but did not pursue it.

Halfway to Ayala Mall from the Richmond is Infinity KTV bar and (down a little sidestreet) St. Moritz bar and hotel. Infinity is quite high priced IMO. I was quoted 74 PHP for a beer for myself, 305 PHP for a ladies drink, and the barfine was 4000 PHP plus 3 ladies drinks. Ouch. They offered only a modest number of ladies to choose from on a Sunday night, a few were pretty attractive. Infinity is connected with another bar called "Love Scenes" that I'll mention below. St. Moritz is at the other end of the price spectrum. They want only 50 PHP for a beer and 150 PHP for a ladies drink while the bar fine is only 750 PHP. Alas, quality is commensurate with price and you should not expect to find any stunners here.

I found one gal at St. Moritz that seemed adequate (and it was late, so I wanted to stop my exploration/hunting for the evening) and took her back to the Richmond a short walk away. What she lacked in looks she made up for in service. She liked kissing very much (so do I) and we had a very nice session. While no stunner, she had a nice ass. I paid as follows: 100 PHP for 2 beers, 50 PHP for some sweet rolls the girls at the bar wanted, 10 PHP tip for the bartender, 750 PHP barfine, and 600 PHP tip for the girl (Total: 1510 PHP). The 600 PHP tip was negotiated up front and I had to bargain hard for this as they started asking 1500 PHP and I kept offering only 500 PHP. However, I only paid the 600 PHP after service was provided. The gal seemed happy as we left and she told me it was the first time she was barfined. She wanted an extra 100 PHP after we were done but I declined and just paid the agreed 600 PHP. She said something about dropping by this afternoon (no pay, she said) and I would not refuse a freebie with her... but we shall see what happens.

On the way to Robinson's mall from Richmond hotel there are several places of note. Hotels include the well-known Eddies hotel (which I've not seen yet) as well as "Casa Rosario" which I stumbled across. Casa Rosario is at 101-E Ramon Aboitiz St, Cebu City, (032) 255-0525/ 257-2225/ 253-5134/ 412-6290 and http://www.casarosario.net/. I looked inside Casa Rosario and it looked nice: clean modern bright rooms. Standard room with double bed is only 1000 PHP/night for 1 or 2 people. They also offer "Family" rooms with more beds at slightly higher prices. Breakfast is extra at about 100 PHP/person. A small modern strip mall next door offers some food shops and a cheap internet cafe (25 PHP/hour). HOWEVER, IT MAY BE THAT CASA ROSARIO IS NOT GF. I base this only on the fact that they talk about "family rooms" and ask "no charge for children under 8 years old" which suggests to me that they would not want blatant mongers. But you might try this place and just be a little discreet about things... I'm sure they want your money and expect they would turn a blind eye if you give them a chance to do so.

There are also several clubs en route to Robinson's Place/Mall from the Richmond hotel. If you follow the back roads (down F. Sotto and toward Queen's Road) you come to Lonestar Bar which was closed as I walked by at 10 AM Monday. Over on General Maxilom Avenue there is a cluster of bars including Love Scene, Pappillon, Black Hole, BG's and a few others. Most of these would charge 50-100 PHP for a beer and 150-200 PHP for a ladies drink while a bar fine would range from 1700-2750 PHP. On a Sunday night, I could discern no difference in quality or selection based on price. The best value seemed to be BG's which had a number of very attractive ladies and the lowest price. A customer who was leaving said that the bar fine of 1700 PHP is split with 1000 PHP going to the girl and 700 PHP going to the house; he also said the girl expects a tip and would be happy with 1000 PHP.

Mango Square is also in this area but I'm not yet exactly sure where. Some girls mentioned to me that its temporarily closed now because the ASEAN conference is in town. I'm not entirely sure what you find there. Perhaps some bars and some freelancers.

Robinson's Place is a small mall on Osmena Circle. I got there about 8:30 PM and they were to close at 9:00 PM so I made a quick tour. On the ground floor I encountered a group of 5-6 girls (freelancers) who quickly said hello and offered me their phone numbers as well as themselves. I took the name and number of the prettiest one. She said she had a Massage class at 7:00 AM Monday and I was still shopping (not yet read to buy) so I passed her by, but I may call her later today (Monday) for an afternoon session. She initially wanted 2000 PHP but quickly dropped that to 1500 PHP when I balked at the price. I would hope to get her for about 1000 PHP short time. I forgot to inquire about specific services. The other gals didn't interest me as much. One said she was the first gal's sister and, when I ran into her and a friend in front of Casino Filapina 30 minutes later, the two offered themselves for only 500 PHP each if I would take them both now. I do not often take two at once for security reasons (its hard to keep an eye on two girls at once) and the friend did not appeal so passed on this offer.

As far as I can tell, there is only one other mongering area of note in Cebu proper and I have not yet visited there. This is the area near the Northwinds Hotel which has JY Square on one side and Sunshine Bar, as well as Yo Latina bar, on the other side. From the map, it appears to be as far beyond Ayala Mall as the distance from Robinson's Place to Ayala Mall (so Ayala seems to be in the middle with JY Square and Robinson's Place at opposite extremes). I hope to go explore this area later this evening.

Those more familiar with Cebu may want to make corrections to my above remarks. As I said, I've been here less than 24 hours now and may be badly misinformed.

It was fun reading the report of a first-timer to Cebu.

Only a few things I would comment on:

1) I wouldn't choose Richmond Hotel! Who put you on that place? Eddie's down the street is much better and there are several other options as well. I think Eddie's is P1380 per night in high season which includes two breakfasts that are quite good.

2.) The P1700 barfine at BG's is all-inclusive. An extra P1000 tip is extremely generous, but certainly not expected or part of the deal. Prices at all the Mango area bars are about the same. I think Papillion is P2000, but also all-inclusive and Lonestar is only P650, but that doesn't include the girl's part. P1000 is what's expected for the girl. (Incidentially, I concur that BG's has the most lookers, but Lonestar has a few also and a more fun atmosphere with less LD pressure (not that BG's is bad LD-pressure, but Lonestar has almost none!)

3.) The first set of freelancers who asked P1500 were trying to rip you off, BIG-time! The second set who offered P500 are much more in line. Free-lancers in Cebu City generally get P250 to P500, maybe as much as P700 if a pimp and mamasan are involved. Local pinoys usually only pay P250 to P300 for freelancers.

There are a number of other clubs in Cebu, but no where like Mango where they are all together. And most of the others tend to be more KTV/Asian-oriented.

Good post Yankee,

It's good to meet someone here who expends some shoe leather (rubber?) and finds out what he needs to find.

I'm looking forward to your subsequent posts. Hope you make it downtown. Last i heard, things were improving there.

How are your experiences with freelancers? I know a lot of people saying that there is NO reason to deal with them since bargirls cost the same amount, offer a better service and have a weekly health check.

Saw a lot of them during my stay in Cebu but was always busy. During my freetime (evening) I prefered to have a nice time in go-go bars.

I've done my homework and RTFF but can't find any information about the above. Isn't there any drugstore in Cebu selling generic viagra? There are lots of guys in the street offering Viagra and Cialis, but I won't take the risk of buying drugs in the street. At best it is just fake, at worst you might be taking something that's harmful to your health. Any advice, please?

I arrived in Manila two weeks ago and frankly speaking I'm rather disappointed with the scene. The whole setup with bars, inflated beer prices, and ladies nagging about lady drinks or that they don't have money to buy their kid food tomorrow etc. etc. rather puts me off.

Probably this is no problem for those of you who have a good income but since I live on a small early retirement pension, and spend the greater part of the year away from home, I do have to watch my spendings.

I stayed in Manila 4 days and also 4 days in Angeles without going to bed with any of the ladies. My urge to do so was not very great since I'd just left Indonesia where I had more freebees than I could handle.

Last night, however, around closing time of Robinson Mall, I saw a petite girl of about 27 who had been following for a while. She had a rather pretty face, but what got my testosterone going were her perky tits and ass. When we were at the pedestrian cross-over I said 'hi' to her and asked her where she was going. She said she worked at a bakery and was on her way home. I wasn't impressed by this story and asked her for how much she would accompany me to my hotel. She wanted P1500. I just laughed and walked away. In front of my hotel I saw she was still behind me. She asked me how much I was prepared to give. I said P500 maximum and she agreed.

After she'd showered, her perky tits proved to be no more than saggy little tea bags. Besides she had only recently given birth to her first child and was still lactating. Half-heartedly I did the deed, ignoring her complaints that I was too big, which was remarkable because she wasn't particularly tight, that I was taking long etc. etc. After she showered she wanted P1000, complaining that I had to pay more because I was big and took long to come. Since this wasn't true and service from her part had been non-existent I sent her away with the P500 agreed.

I'll explore the the street walker places tonight and tomorrow before going back to Angeles on Thursday and if worthwhile I'll post again.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has warned Australians not to travel to the Cebu province in the Philippines because of the high risk of a terrorist attack.

The department says it has received credible reports that terrorists are in the final stages of planning attacks on a range of targets, including places that are visited by foreigners.

The East Asia Summit is being held in the Cebu province next week and Prime Minister John Howard is due to attend the meeting.

The department says all officials and members of the media who are travelling to Cebu for the meetings, should exercise extreme caution.

While the department notes security will be in place, it has urged all Australians in Cebu to avoid places that are known to be targeted by terrorists, such as places of worship, restaurants, bars and outdoor markets.

Security is very tight here but where there is a will there is a way. Also this bears noting:

A while back several terrorist orgs looked at blasting Angeles or Makati bars Ala Bali as those places had the highest concentration of foreigners and since such places were a "disgrace" to Muslim morals. To my knowledge several raids in Manila's muslim section earlier this year had something to do with that plot.

Just a word to the wise.

What are the new dates for the summit. IM in Cebu third week of January

CEBU will have to wait till early January to host the 12th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit as organizers announced a last-minute postponement due to a coming typhoon.

The summit will be reset to a date before the Jan. 15 Sinulog festival.

No announcement was made yet, however, on whether classes would resume or a Dec. 11-14 holiday for government workers in Cebu would be lifted.

“This is a most agonizing decision to make,” said Ambassador Marciano Paynor Jr., acknowledging months of rushed preparations for Cebu’s hosting duties. “As painful as the decision is, we have to do it.”

Although typhoon Seniang is forecast to affect north Cebu when it hits land today, Paynor said the decision by the National Organizing Committee (NOC) of which he is secretary general recognized that “ the primary responsibility of the host is the safety of its guests.”

He said they have recommended rescheduling the summit to the first week of January but the final date still has to be agreed upon by state leaders of the 10-member ASEAN.

This is the first time an ASEAN Summit has been postponed due to a weather disturbance, he told a news conference.

Time to perfect

A somber Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia said she knew many Cebuanos were “preparing feverishly for the summit” which would have started with a dinner for 16 state leaders on Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC).

But the delay “just gives us even more time to perfect what we were supposed to present.”

The decision to postpone the ASEAN Summit came amid warnings by the U.S., Britain and Australia that terrorists might be in the final stages of planning an attack during the summits in Cebu, and a weather forecaster said he had advised officials that they could go ahead with the meetings.

But Paynor denied that terror warnings played any role in the decision.

“Categorically I will state that the decision was based on this weather disturbance and this weather disturbance only,” Paynor told a news conference, adding there was a 70 percent chance that the storm, upgraded to a typhoon late Friday, would hit Cebu province.

He said officials considered delaying the summit for a few days, and even moving the venue to Manila, along with a number of other alternatives, before deciding on postponement. No new dates were immediately announced.

Less than an hour before the announcement, Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo in a news conference in the same CICC venue was upbeat and saying the summit in Cebu would push through despite the storm reports, like “the Red Sea parting.”

Paynor said Philippine hosts reached the decision with “inputs” from other countries and the feedback that “their leaders would not feel comfortable sitting in a summit while there is devastation going on.”

He was referring to severe typhoon damage as experienced during Milenyo and Reming.

“We have to allow the President to be on top of things,” said Paynor since the typhoon would affect other areas.

“If for instance by whatever way we were able to bring the leaders here and the typhoon be ignored, and we have a devastation of the kind that hit us weeks ago, the sense of many of those who are now meeting are saying their own leaders will feeling uncomfortable that they are having a summit while devastation is going on.”

Paynor said officials wanted the Philippines “to have full undivided attention to address problems that might arise out of this weather disturbance.”

Meanwhile, Cebu meetings of ASEAN government ministers and senior officials scheduled until Sunday would continue, Ambassador Victoriano Lecaros said. He said all the ministers of ASEAN-member countries as well as the dialogue partners are already here in the Philippines.

Two Asian summits were scheduled in Cebu next week, if not for the typhoon bearing down on the meeting site. The ASEAN Summit was scheduled Monday and Tuesday, followed by the second East Asia summit on Wednesday.

Prisco Nilo, acting chief of the Philippine weather bureau, said he was contacted by the government for advice.

“Our recommendation is to go ahead with the summit,” Nilo told The Associated Press. “Cebu city will still be affected, but the movement of the storm is to the north of Cebu, and it will be traveling fast. By Dec. 11 it will be over the South China Sea.”

Typhoon Seniang is expected to hit Cebu over the weekend, when Asian leaders would be flying in, Paynor said. Domingo Lucinario, a member of the Philippine government’s organizing committee, said discussions by foreign ministers and other officials would continue as planned over the weekend because those people had already arrived.

Seniang is expected to make landfall over Samar island Saturday afternoon and cross Masbate island, about 170 kilometers north of Cebu on Sunday morning, the U.S. Joint Typhoon Warning Center said.

The Philippine weather bureau said the storm was packing sustained winds of up to 85 kph and gusts of 100 kph on Friday afternoon.

Pals,

I got online here at 05:00AM Saturday monring west coast US time. Had a message waiting for me from my daughter's mother on Leyte telling me that a "terrible typhoon" hit. All electricity is off.

I had tried unsuccessfully for an hour to contact three ladies I know, one near Ormoc City and two in Cebu. Could not connect with their cellphones. I did reach my son's mother early, last night before I fell asleep (have not beaten the jetlag yet). She reported no trouble then.

I have my "cebu baby" in northern cebu island online now. She said that there is not as bad as Cebu City but it has been raining all day long. I arrive in Cebu either the last week in December (before New Year's Eve in Davao) or first week in January, depending on whether or not I meet my lovely chinadoll in Shenzhen, so China this trip.

I am going to book my Hotle in Cebu now for the first week in January just in case the ASEAN ends up there then. With Sinulog the last part of January in Cebu, they have to schedule it earlier.

Did you tried Penrax it's working ok too.

Just send me a PM.

Thanks,

I don't know where that is, but if it's in Cebu, who cares where it is. Taxi's use their meter and it's pretty cheap. It's not like Angeles, where most of the late night transportation might have to be triked and in other words expensive for the ride. You want to go somewhere in particular, take a taxi.

I was in Cebu last week with my Gf. The local word is typhoon is just an excuse to postphone the asean summit. Locals say there was credible info about terrorist threat to which the police were not prepared.
I stayed at ALTA RESORT which is the only place I could find through last minute booking. Nice resort which has a school teaching english to korean and japanese people. Everybody was really friendly. But the place is far away from any mongering place. It is monger friendly with strict security. So if you have a GF staying with you it is not a bad place.

Try this, as i have found these 3 places to be the best for me. They may be a bit more expensive than other places, but you get quality and not junk.

1. HAREM - look at the aquarium full of supposedly young girls, vip room the girl of your choice and make an arrangement to take her out after work or let her come to your hotel next day for a quality banging!

2. ARENA - same procedure as with Harem, great selction of pretty girls, there may also be a bar fine but may be expensive, better to deal with the girl of your choice directly and meet her after work or next day to be less expensive. You may also bang the girl inside the vip room.

3. JAGUAR - huge selection of girls to choose from, bar fine or negotiate to take her home after work or see her next day or bang her inside the vip room.

The best lay in all my years in the Philippines was at the Silver Dollar, I still dream of her. Recent visits have also yielded some pleasant surprises.

Patience, and the willingness to explore old & new places, many times has yeilded a "temporary" keeper.

Then again, we are all temporary.

Oki,

Noted that, Thanks. and BTW, how much expensive is it?Don't even think about a barfine in those clubs. Arena I think 6000 Pesos. Harem about 4000 Pesos (not sure though).

A lot of pretty girls, but if you summarize drinks, ladies drinks, entrance fee and barfine it's very irrational to visit those places! You could feed a whole town somewhere in the province with the money you spend for ONE evening.
Stick to Midas Touch advice. Get their cell numbers and bang them for the 'regular price' of 500-1000 Pesos.

Btw: I am pretty sure that the Arena and Harem girls DON'T earn more money than the girls at Silverdollar, Lonestar etc. Some girls in Silverdollar or Lonestar worked in Arena or Harem before.

The prices are 100% bullshit.

Compared to those cheap bars that you mentioned.Hmm, cheap bars. Doesn't mean that you can't have a good time there! I'd even say that the chance of having a nice time is even higher than in those ridicolous Japanese / Korean clubs like Arena. For little money you can sit in the bar (i mean those 'cheap' bars), chat with one, two or three girls, touch them, kiss them and even lick their tits. I don't think that the Arena girls have the same attitude.

You have to search a little, but you definately WILL find a pretty girl there!

I didn't spend that much in JAGUAR which is supposedly the most expensive bar. What i did was to sit on the bar area, ordered a couple of beers and ask mamasan to introduce me to the pretty hot girls one at a time. I told her that i was picky, taking my time and it had to be the best girl for me. Anyway using the stalling technique, some girls just came over to talk to me, i got their tel numbers and told them that i would like to see them at my hotel next day. Most of them agreed to be seen next day. I bought a ladies drink for a certain girl i really liked and negotiated for her to be with me at my hotel next day, then left Jaguar to go bar hopping somewhere else.

Sure enough, next day at about 9:45am she called me at my room at Eddie's Hotel that she was down the lobby. So i went down and we had breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. After that, we proceeded to my room to take a shower and had an enjoyable sizzling sex the whole afternoon. I paid her P1,500 for that pleasant awesome encounter.

So if you know, have some technique, charisma and luck to deal with women, even in a costly place like Jaguar, Harem or Arena, you can BANG more of a quality girl at a reasonable price. Cheers!

Just arrived in Cebu and was hoping to find some daytime fun, but all the bars seem to be closed until around early evening - am I missing something?

Was here last week for a few days and on two different nights, took girls from Vikings (one from the girl upstairs one night, one downstairs the next). All was going well, bought the girl a LD and paid the bar fine negotiating long time for the standard 1,700. Both left after no more than one hour. I tried to get them to stay but wasn't going to force them, whats the point? Disappointed though, so I didn't tip...

Now I'm more careful, last night spoke to Mamasan about a girl i was with and said i wanted long time, all night etc. The same shit happens again after leaving the bar - about an hour and a half, 2 pops, and she's getting dressed. What is this? She was happy, and wants to stop by this afternoon, but i like my girls to stay all night and have fun in the morning and then maybe breakfast etc depending on the girl...

Anyways...I tried out the Metropolis Court Hotel as one mongter recommended but was quoted USD 60 for a Deluxe room on the second floor, so passed. A shame as wanted to try out the massage services recommended.

Not that much to offer as newbie here in The Philippines.

Cheers,

I must have mentioned about 5x on this message board about bars - such as the Viking - that include the tip in the barfine. I tried a couple of girls from these establishments a number of years ago and was disappointed every time. One from the Viking told me she had the big M immediately after we got back to the room.

It is just common sense, once you have paid the tip up front it is usually all downhill after that. There is absolutely no incentive for good service. Stay away from these places.

Your better off at the SDollar, almost always received good service there, or even finding a freelancer at the Sunflower Disco (Thursday/Saturday night).

You have to have a verbal agreement..whether its to mamasan or the girl or any outside freelances. Tell them what you want and how much you gonna pay. I want to make love to you at least three times and you are not gonna leave until the morning when I say so. If you make me happy big tips. If you fall short of that no tips or I will complaint to mamasan. Then all are clear. Dont ever say I gonna bring you to my hotel or you come to my hotel, sentence like this is too uncertain.

Midas Touch,

You're right on in negotiating your own deal in an outrageously expensive place like Jaguar. Many of the girls know the asking price is a deal killer, and are prepared to deal with you outside of the bar. I have had girls mention this to me, and many are not happy with the management. Although the price you mention is a substantial "discount," it may actually represent an increase in her share of the money you spend, which typically all goes to the bar, and she's stuck with the leftovers.

Pals,

I went to the Viking for the last time back in 1998. Peter was still alive (drank himself to death) then. It was nothing but a total fuckinng ripoff then (as opposed to a total fucking). It does not surprise me to hear that nothing has changed.

If you need to get fucked during the day in Cebu it is best to try one of the massage parlors, like the one at Fuente Osmena, the ones down on Colon St or the many, upscale places in the Hotels. As I posted a few months ago, I will drop by Silver Dollar during Happy Hour from 4:00Pm to 9:00PM. Drinks are cheap then as are ladies drinks. By 7:00Pm there are usually 25 women there (5-10 by5:00PM).

WIth few, if any other customers early, you get full attention from the women. One offered to give me a blowjob right at the bar. She was going to squeeze under the bar and suck me off as I sat on my barstool drinking a beer. Her price was P500 ($10US). I refused as there were at least 25 women in the place by then and the gorgeous woman manager. All would be able to see her sucking away on the "unleashed beast", which is not my style.

For now, the Silver Dollar is the best all around place in Cebu to have a good time. They are not the best looking girls - although I have pulled one or two stunners - but they do know how to have a good time.

As for daytime action, try the FINLAND massage in the "LU-YIM" BLD on Colon. Again, daytime only, its a rough neighborhood.

Billpsu,

I'm in total agreement. Silver Dollar is one of my favorite bars, and I used to pull chicks out of there regularly. Several of those are some very sweet memories, including one former cashier. I find the atmosphere is very laid back and fun, without the high price ripoff pressure of other bars.

On my last visit there, I heard some fat English woman traveling with a group of stick fighters got up on stage and did a pole dance. Thank God I missed that. Heaven help the poor guy who has just tried balut for the first time, then witnesses that horrid spectacle.

I also agree that it's a good idea to go early. Happy hour beer prices are very good, and all the girls are there at the start of the shift. I used to come in early and see them all glued to the TV set when the soap opera Mari Mar came on. Since the place is air-conditioned and centrally located (near Fuente Osmena), it's always a good place to drop in, get a beer, and cool off during the day.

If you don't mind being 45 minutes from the City and can live without a phone line or internet, I know of a great house in Liloan. It's in a quiet gated subdivision, only 2 years old, semi-furnished, 220 square meters...nice place. Owner is asking P20T per month before any negotiation. But, Globe's "ports are full" in the area and so one must wait a month or more for the added capacity for telephone and internet.

Can someone help me with a house or furnished apartment in the greater Cebu area.I need a 2-3 bedroom for 4 people.3 kids and myself and my asawa.

I do not want to be in a busy area but rather a quiet out of the way area in greater Cebu.Any info on this would be a great help.

THANKS,B.B....

Tried Heart Massage in 2002, different girls then. You can also try ads in paper, Ahkin (I think) sent a hottie to the Marriott (again, 2002).

I was in Li-loan yesterday. It's a wonderful little place on the SW tip of Cebu Island. There is a ferry port there which crosses over to ??? town, which is right next to Dumaguete, -- 20 min. There are at least two resorts there. The one I walked into seemed to be mostly Japanese - with an emphasis on diving. They have a restaurant that extends out over the water. I guess the resorts would have Internet...

Silver Dollar (6pm yesterday) has a better selection than the last two times I've been there, although most of the women have had children. Babes (very tiny woman) is still there....over two years now.

Viking still has the hottest women and some real sexy dancing. I've never bar fined a woman from this place, but had my eye on Alexa for over a year now. It's just that she comes off as so cold, I always walk out.

New place is Red Eric. Same red furnishings as Bikini bar and Viking. Same owner. I met Mari there, formerly of Viking and Lone Star. Some of you may know her. Tall, long hair, does some sexy dancing.

I'll try to give more info later.

I'm from the Bay Area, California, and went to Cebu for the first time a couple months ago. We basically hit every bar mentioned on this board and more.

I have to say that when we went, Love City and Jaguars clearly had the best looking women. Had great times with women from each, and they all stayed all night, very affectionate, GFE, tons of multiples, etc. A little bit higher priced bar-fine yes, but I'm picky so it was worth it. Ironically I think every girl I ran into was 19 or 20, at least that's what they told me.

Pump seemed like a great place to pickup hot, young girls too, but I was always with a date when I went there so didn't try, but got lots of looks and smiles.

Couldn't get enough of the stage shows at Sunflower... what a bargain at $3 entry, but make sure you get a bottle if you plan on drinking liquor, as they water down their shots.

Also, stayed at both the Waterfront and Marco Polo, and enjoyed MP very much -- more modern design, better beds and rooms. Breakfast buffet at WF was better though.

Lastly... if you're interested in non-pros, I met a few girls in advance on asianeuro.com. A decent site, with over 300 women online all the time.

Well hope that helps. I definitely want to visit Cebu again soon!

Don't forget to try Orchid by calling 2314951.

Mars Massage is good too. Compared to Hearts, Mars has more mature women than young ones. Mars is located at Hallmark Hotel just across Gaisano Colon. Better call them at 2530906.

Been a frequent visitor to Cebu. My hotel to stay is the Holiday Plaza: 1000+ room, central loc, girl-freindly...
Have 2 cuties from Cherryblossoms waiting, but never know how it will work out. My fav pic-ups in the past were from Jakosalem, going by cab and scrolling the roads for the many FL's for 500..700/night

Is the situation still the same?

Questions
I currently have a call center for my company in India but I am dissapointed in the quality of the staff. A friend of mine suggested the Philippines due to the similar low cost of labor and the English speaking population. Questions for any Expats or people familiar with.

1) Where is the best location to open the office (small office 8-10 people max) rental rates.? Reliable Internet needed .. anyone know what a 300-400sqft office would go for.? I would assume that Makati would be the location of choice... but others have suggested that I open something in Cebu or one of the smaller cities, cheaper employment rate and office rental... what are your thoughts.

2) What percentage of the population speaks good English. Good enough to respond to e-mail support.? What is the going rate for such a person (salary .. per hour.? )

3) What are the legal aspects of starting a company in the Philippines?

4) What does an 1br apartment in Cebu run per month?

There has recently been a lot of publicity in Phil newspapers and a TV program (can't remember details, but think it was Bloomberg) about call centers in Phils not working out because of the poor spoken English of the Filipinos. The Phil govt is getting quite concerned about the problem. They put it down to the latest focus on speaking Tagalog instead on English and too much time watching Tagalog programs on TV instead of those in English. I must admit, I am surprised at the quality of English spoken by those who even had full schooling. You may need to check this out before you jump in...

I don't have the current rental rate BUT I was investigating a possible call center joint venture for my compnay in Canada and a local outfit...
Call center agents are earning between 300-500 US per month. They all speak English and are taught from Grade 1.

Cebu is definitely cheaper however, a major call center operater in based there as well. Rent is cheap and may be wise to just invest in a property...

Cebu Local will be of better help on this one.

gentlemen:

Just a few observations, IMHO Cebuanos speak better 'english" than most other places in the PI Manila included, not sure of the reason, probably the teachers many of whom have tenure in the US. But also many private schools here, those teaching the Koreans etc, are staffed by American educators who infuse their "Americanese" which is different in Accent and some verbage than "English", I can understand "Filipino English" spoken by Cebuanos better than those in pther parts of the PI, also, they understand me, but perhaps that is because I am used to hearing them.

The largest problem Filipinos in general have is with 'American English" which
tends to be rather rapid fire and "nasal" also, many of these call centers dont train them in "business english",so the staffers tend to lapse into their bad habits telling you "for awhile" instead of "Hold please while I check on it" etc.

Knew a guy in Davao who wanted to start a call center there, he said he tested about 500 candidates and gave up, although they "spoke english" not too many understood what the average "American" caller would be talking about. Just a thought but I think it takes time for any of these staffers to get used to the version of "english" being used, verbage. accent etc, they have to develop those skills, but they have the root understanding of what is being said.

Bottom line, if yiou arwe thinking of a start up business along these lines you should train your staff in Business English and do some practical exercises/mock calls.

I investigated this too and I am in agreement with SH regarding the English accent spoken in Cebu vs in Manila. I didn't understand why that is. Any long-timers want to chime in on this?

Among other items I found was that a college degree is required just to get a job interview and yet most filipino college graduates still flunk the English usage testing. It was a big deal in the news while I was there. Seems the easy pickings among the call center employment pool have already been picked: there apparently aren't enough qualified and available English users for all of the call centers that want to employ them.

My theory on the issue of Cebuanos speaking better English is that Cebuano is more sourced from English and Spanish than Tagalog and other Filipino dialects. I certainly find it easier to understand Cebuano than Tagalog. (With my language background being primarily English and secondarily Spanish.)

Agreed on the easy pickin's having been picked part. Those with great skills are demanding quite good salaries for this country.

Totally agree, thankfully my "call centers" are mostly typed and e-mail support thus eliminating the sometimes horrific accents of English spoken. You and I both know that if (especially the bar girls) there is one thing that they can do great, it is to chat and write letters.

Ok fellas, have my tickets in hand for my exploration tour of the Philippines. This is the last mongering destination that I am a virgin with (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Cost Rica, Columbia and Russia) have all been logged and noted. Ironic in that the Philippines was the first destination I had heard about back in the late 80's when my uncle told me about Clark and Angeles City. FYI Cebu Pacific Air http://www.cebupacificair.com/ has 99p specials on flights anywhere in the country for the next few days. I got my round trip from Clark to Cebu for $48 USD including tax, now that's not a bad bargain. I would think that you regulars in country would take advantage of some of the more exotic destinations like Palawan that usually cost much more to fly to. Check it out!

That said I am making arangements for my 1 week stay in Cebu. My style as a monger is to treat the girls as they deserve to be treated. Never overpay but never be a cheap charlie, to eat well, drink well and treat my fellow mongers to a round of drinks now and again. When it comes to Hotels, I prefer economy stays. The rooms have to be clean, the AC has to work well and the place has to be safe. That said, an example of my level of mimimum hotel requirements would be The Nana Hotel in Bangkok. The rooms were fine, the AC worked and they were $25/ night. Perfect.. In Angeles City I was thinking Either The Orchid Inn, Central Park or the New Royal Amsterdam . All in the $30-$40 / night range. Your thoughts would be of great help along with a description as to why you would prefer one over the other.

In Manila I'm a little lost, have heard about the LA Cafe which seems to be the freelance/ no barfine choice of most mongers on the board but since I'm not familiar with the city.. I was thinking of staying at the Citadel Century in Makati.??? Any thoughts.. suggestions on destinations would be great as I will only be in Manila for 3 days.

Which brings us to Cebu. From what I have read, the mongering destinations are in 5 main places. Out on Mactan Island, The 3 spots in the city and then the "Pimp Alley" (forgive I forgot the name, but it's the lock your doors and fly straight street). That PDF map is fantastic, but I can not tell where the locations are in relation to the overall map.

Was thinking of staying at either the Kiwi Lodge or The Cebu Century Golden Peak Hotel ... any thoughts.? The Golder Peak I was quoted at $35 per day and the Kiwi at 945p per day.

So anyone with clarification on the areas of activity in Cebu right now would be of great help.

All the best,

Used to haunt Bangkok and I have stayed at nana hotel and a few others from soi 3 to 11, on Sukumvit nowadays I usually bunk at the Ambassador if im in town but it is with Mrs Spamhog in tow, no mongering. So a few CEBU hotel's which I feel are comprable to Nana or the Ambassador. I would say the Marriot is close to Ambassador, but probably too expensive,(about $85 US) the advantage is you can walk to Ayala Mall, nice pool and in a good central mongering location.

NaNa comparable are: Richmond Hotel, Mango Square park, a few others on the cheap are Northwinds, Castle peak, probably less than $25.00 (P1,200) for a delux room, all girl friendly and centrally located to mongering areas, Eddies is okay, the advantage here is you can walk to the main areas of bars and the LONE STAR is right across the street. But Golden peak is okay and close to the action, P 1800 sounds a little high. I would avoid going out on Mactan, too far, more hotels in town closer to the action.

Cebu is different than Manila. lots of Mongering but more laid back and less commercialized, you're more likely to pick up a clerk in the mall, meet a waitress or have some cutie give you the eye while you're shopping. But there are a few bars in little enclaves, some more over by Robinsons plaza mall like thunder dome and the cobra bar. NOW FOR THE KICKER: THE ASEAN SUMMIT IS NEXT WEEK THEN SINULOG FESTIVAL, SO HOTELS ARE GONNA BE FULLY BOOKED. If you do decide to come to cebu during that period and get stuck, give me a PM, I can probably get you a room with one of my connections at a more out of the way hotel close to where I live.

In Manila, you might want to check out the Orchid Garden Hotel, once again close to the Ambassador in BKK, but might not be Girl Friendly. It is close to Ermita/Malate (La Cafe) and the bar area, Makati is another bar area, but IMHO none of these places holds a candle to BKK, Nanplaza or Patpong, or even Pattaya for that matter, just different.

If you get to Cebu and have time to sit down for a coffee give me a PM.

Let us know about the Lotus Garden. I will be in Manila in March.

SpamhogAnd a few observations from a guy in the call centre/BPO business:

A lot of the theory of language, culture and customer service/sales is lost in translation/bad management in call centers/BPOs in India. The type of process you are outsourcing dictates the kind of education and skill - level you require for your agents (technical/semi-technical/verbal/non-verbal), however, most call centres I see, other than the big names, fail in properly understanding, formulating and implementing correct call centre business practices such as the optimum level of accent/language/culture and process training as well as incorrect middle management practices such as not enough/proper incentives or line training or basic quality monitoring.

Generally, it has been found that third party outsourcers are so focused on just revenue generation they fail to realise the value of training and quality and hence bypass them to bring agents on to the operational floor. While in captive companies this has been found to be an issue that can be overridden to a large extent, the correct recruitment of and implementation through middle and junior management still leaves a lot to be desired in this industry in India and from all reports, in the Philippines too. People just don’t realise the value of proper coaching/mentoring of their employees and a lack of understanding and application of processes to monitor and increase productivity amongst agents/team leaders/floor managers/trainers leads to clients not being satisfied with the service level provided.

I wouldn’t know about the Philippines, but as in India, the type of process also leads to a question of which area to setup your call centre/BPO in dependent on the specific skills required which possibly differ from area to area.

So my suggestion would be to be very careful of the kind of management that is hired, put in correct policies/procedures/processes to make every employee accountable and then recruit team leaders & agents who can then lead you to the correct kind of operational delivery.

Enough of this. Now back to the more important and interesting topic of what we really login here for.

Don't bother with the "Diplomat." It's a flea bag place closer toward Colon St wihich is a very bad area at night.

The Raja is on the circle of Fuente Osmeña Blvd
Tel. (6332) 253-1131 to 49
Fax. (6332) 253-0118

It changed names a few times, i.e., Garwood, Park Place, etc.

It now has a big neon "Casino Fillipino" sign.

I stay there a lot. Price is right for me (about 1900p double/wbreakfast) and it is centrally located. Be sure to get a double, that way there is no hassle when you bring a girl back. If you get a double, make sure they give you 2 beakfasts coupons.

Raja looks nice, newly renovated, great location, but some rooms have no windows. That may be good or bad depending on your preferences.

Diplomat is one of the best values in Cebu and for that reason it is difficult to get a room. Many rooms are filled by the young Koreans who come to study English. Rooms are VERY clean and some rooms have good views. The only time I managed to get a room there, they only had a room with two single beds. Diplomat is 1 kilometer south of Fuente Osmena circle on Ramos. You would have to continue another 2 kilometers to reach the seedy area around Colon St.

I'm looking for the websites for:

Not links to booking agencies but the actual websites direct to the hotels.

I´ve done a couple of searches and read back 20 pages but still can´t decide between the Waterfront and Marriott. Want a decent gym and internet in the room as well as no girl in room problem or extra charge. Can anyone give me some advice?

Hello David,

The Marriott is the place to stay for many reasons. They have internet connections in every room and the location next to Alaya mall cannot be beat. But I believe they are more expensive than the Waterfront. Both hotels have health facilities but the Waterfront has the better pool. In addition, the rooms are small and dated with no internet connections. But they do have a casino on sight which attracts p4p women. Most every hotel in the Philippines is girl friendly including these two hotels so no problem there. Have a great trip!

Never stayed there (Kiwi). I like to walk, as a result, from the Raja I can walk to the Silver Dollar, Firehouse, and bars on Mango (Exotica, Black Hole, etc.).

If you want to stay near the Mango Ave bars you may want to try:

Mango Park Hotel
General Maxilom Ave., Cebu City
Tel. (6332) 233-5695
Fax. (6332) 233-5695

Tried to stay there twice, both times it was full.

Always ask to see room first.

My hotel of choice, great location, is Holiday Plaza. Rooms are a bit run down for the 1900 fee, but that includes a pretty good buffet breakfast if you can wake before 10am. I generally skip the fish heads and go for the omelettes.

One thing I found especially valuable is the rooftop bar / restaurant. Although it has terrible service, it offers a nice view and can be, umm, romantic. I was spending time with ladies I met online (CB), so these were regular girls, allegedly. You invite them to the roof top bar and have dinner or drinks. Into the elevator and your bed is just a button push and a card swipe away.

Besides Yahoo? That questions should be asked in the "chat room and online gals" section. Filipinaheart and Cherry blossom seem to be popular ones, but an Internet search will turn up dozens more. I would avoid the video cam sites.

Most of the girls are NOT pros so I suggest you act accordingly.

I think the Visayan girls are the most beautiful, and am expecially fond of the Leyte ladies.

Most of my last trip was spent with a Manila girl with half Leyte ancestory. Absolutely gorgeous. Big thick lips that seem to be made for blow jobs.

If you cannot get a good rate through the Marriott website check these consolidators out:

This website said that the Marriott was available via Priceline bidding last year. I'm not sure if that's the current case or not. Here's a link to a bidding site:

http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showtopic=27539&hl=philippines

I think they bid about $37 a night, plus fees. You may need to bid via the Priceline Singapore site, as the US site didn't show Cebu.

Other places I try:

www.wotif.com

I stayed at the Cebu City Waterfront (Lahug) a few months ago. Rooms were OK, but not great. They *did* have internet access, but you had to ask for it since it was not available in all rooms. Also had a good travel agent onsite that will book snorkeling trips, Bohol trips, and the like. It was moderately girl-friendly, but you should note that there is no way to take the girl in without her being seen by the staff. In Manila (Makati Shangrila, Peninsula, Dusit, and kind-of in the Mandarin Oriental), you can walk upstairs to the second floor and get on the elevator without being seen at all. But at the Waterfront, you are forbidden from getting on the elevators on the second floor, and security enforces it.

Is the Marriot in a similar location to the Waterfront? Can I get girls in without them being seen? How does the price compare? My consolidator can get the Waterfront for $93/night (breakfast and taxes included) but does not list the Marriot.

In my opinion, the Marriott is in an excellent location next to Alaya mall. You do have to walk through their rather small lobby passed reception but they don't care one bit. I'm in the market for accomodations next month and have been checking their rate and it varies from $81 to $115 depending on day of the week and method of payment.

Two items I wish to post here gentlemen:

First, national news reported friday on a British National, found dead in a Colon street hotel, autopsy revealed ovedose from "knock out" drugs, guy was seen with a girl going up to his room, possible miscalculation but he's dead, she's gone (though actively sought) and thats that. Of course all the guys goodies (camera, wallet etc) are gone. This sounds like one of the "knock out" drug robberies so common in Thailand. Not as much of that here in PI but it happens now an again, now we got 'em here in Cebu, beware. DO NOT ACCEPT DRINKS, FOOD or DRUGS (You would be surpised at how stupid some guys are are) FROM GIRLS YOU JUST MET (IE Freelancers or street 'Ho's).
DO NOT LEAVE OPENED CONTAINERS AROUND THEM.

Second item:

The latest scam is the "Help me" girls at the ATM's. Works thus:

Foreigner goes to ATM, no guards around, withdraws money, goes to turn away and there stands a smiling "harmless" little cutie who asks
"Sir, can you HELP ME with the ATM, I dont know how to use one?"

Of course being the gentlemen we are (and hoping to get her phone number too) we agree. While engrossed in the mechanics of banking technology we are so distracted by same and little sweeties cute titties we fail to see tough guy accomplice(s) come up and place a well honed shiv at our back and demand the filthy lucre.

While maddog terrorists avoided the ASEAN summit enough petty street thugs
were in town, and still are, to perpetrate whatever their particular craft is.

Never use an atm here after dark unless you have a friend with you.Always have your trusted gal stand behind you when you use the machine.Helps with the rubbing against you thing.Plan ahead here guys there are more holidays here and empty atm's that anywhere.Get some cash lock it up in even some old dirty underware if you have too.Could be the odor alone will keep the shitheads away.Remember when fighting with rats you must get down on the ground and look them straight in the eye's.Never try and loo down on them.I have never had this trouble could be luck or overly paranoid but it is working.

Gentlemen:

West Gorordo Hotel has the POSSIBILITY of being NOT Girl Friendly so why take the chance? There are MANY other hotels in the same vicinity, comprable to price, quality etc. I have never stayed at WG, true, However, i HAVE stayed at Richmond hotel less than two block from same, much better and DEFINITELY GF. The Richmond just got a face lift for the Asian Summit and is looking good, then there is Regal Business Park Hotel, just two blocks in the opposite direction, nice quiet place and RIGHT across from Ayala Mall, you can walk across the street and girl watch the honeys from one of the several coffee shops and buy Real bread, imported food etc.

Last but least you can check out the Northwinds Hotel, also in the same core area, usually the cheapest and you can walk to the Sunflower disco at night to check it out.

Good luck

Just stayed there 3 nights and had a good time. It is girl friendly and they have a busy bar/restaurant area. Becareful sitting at bar as you may become an alcoholic by accident(if not already), as there is a lot of bellringing.

They are adding 18 new rooms but construction wasn't a bother at all. 950 pesos standard room. 45 pesos to Ayala Mall by taxi.

Hi all

Does anyone know about daytime action in Cebu. Before there were some massage places such as Fuente, Finlandia, etc. as well as some lady houses. Recently I haven't heart about any good tipps for lady houses. Are there still some? Can you share the location?

Regarding massage places, it seems most of them don't offer hanky panky. The only one left as far as I know is Finlandia. It has moved to down town.

Was there about 2 months ago and got excellent service; one hour of kissing, BBBJ, fucking in all positions with a very cute girl. She enjoyed herself and was very wet all the time.

But would really like to know, if this is the only place left.

Thanks for your help

Cebu does have a number of Day time "Spas" some offer sexual services, some dont, I have to confess I dont know much about them having NEVER visited one and all knowledge is second hand and Finlandia is supposed to be the Best. However, you CAN find action all times of the day or night in "Lady houses" best to ask about "Casas".

My understanding is that the most populous places are in Lapu Lapu city, a few in Mactuan. Both places are more industrialized than Cebu and a short distance away and have a number of "domitories" for ladies only, some are converted to serve customers. Of course such Casas exist in Cebu, Best bet, ask a cab driver, preferrably an older one. They get a commission (from the owner) for bringing you, probably factored into your price.

You can find "daytime" action near to Colon Street and Sakiango, I personally would avoid these skanky looking 'ho's, most of whom are glue sniffers or Shabu heads. You might try hunting for freelancers in Cebu's mall's. Ayala Mall has cracked down on them somewhat, but you might have some luck over at SM mall, hang around the French baker or downstairs at the foor court, or any of the top floor coffee shops. Robinsons Mall is also another good bet. Park yourself at Bo's coffee and wait.

Last, you can always go over to the "sogo" hotel chain where lots of visiting hookers have rooms and hang out before "going to work" later in the evening.

Good luck and let us know what yiou come up with regarding 'casas'

HI Guys,

Sorry about this, I had hunted some info on Boracay and now doing the same for Cebu.

My colleague and I never seem to get too far out of Makati even though we travel to Philippines regularly. This time we really want to get out of Manila for 2 nights and was wondering if the following is possible.

Arrive Manila Wed night. Conduct our business Thursday (yes this part is possible ;-). Hook a flight to Cebu Thursday late afternoon/evening. Stay at a beach resort for 2 nights but also find a couple of young ladies in Cebu to accompany us to the resort for those 2 days. Fly back to Manila on Saturday take our evening flight home from there.

I dont know how far the action is from any beach type resort etc.

Actually does anyone have any recommendations on that type of accomodation and the idea/plan above? Lastly any golf courses close by Beach Resort in Cebu?

Sorry if I am being painful, dont mean to treat anyone like a free travel agent but hoping someone might have some thoughts or ideas.

Thanks again

I can't recommend a good place in cebu but I can tell you where not to stay. I stayed at cebu beach club back in 2004...thought it was a good spot to relax and chill but for the price of $84 it wasn't anything like I expected. The rooms were very small, no amenities at all and you had to beg for hot water in the roach infested bathroom. Had a tiny twelve inch color tv, no minibar in the room, everything was old. Wasn't really girl friendly either as they made my company sign in and show ID.

They have an internet connection with dial up connection on an old pc in their lounge. Now of course all this was back in 2004 so things could have changed but I told myself I would never go back. Just really terrible accommodations for that kind of money. Less than 3 star resort in my book.

Sorry can't be of better help for you!

Cebu is not known for its beach resorts. I checked out a few bitches...I mean beaches when I was last there in April 2006, and they're not very scenic at all. Infact, if my guess is right, it looks like they truck the sand into most of them. IMHO your better off elsewhere if your looking for a decent beach.

I think YM is referring to the over priced beaches on Mactan which is the island adjacent to Cebu CITY. There are nice beaches on Cebu island. By bus you can probably get to either end of the island in 2-3 hours and faster if you hire a car. Generally, the farther you are from Cebu City, the nicer the beaches on Cebu island. Moalboal and Bantanyan island are some places that come to mind.

Also from Cebu city you are 90 minutes by ocean jet ferry from the white sand beaches of Bohol/Panglao - specifically Alona beach.

just a general overview of resorts in an around cebu. as a rule of thumb, resorts are not especially good places for mongering, most of them are fine if you bring you own special lady/wife whatever and most of the other foreigners you see there are in the company of one or the other. yeah, every once in awhile some guy gets lucky with a waitress, an areobics instructress etc. but this is kinda hit and miss imho. if you are going to panglao/alona, bantayan, malapasqua or any of the other places in cebu province proper i would advise you to bring your own, easy to find one around cebu to "volunteer" her services, get the right one and she will save you money negotiating fares, prices etc. the local pickings in those palces are slim, of course this being the philippines you can (an will) meet women everywhere.

regarding lapulapu city. mactuan island resorts, well i've stayed at shangri la resort before, i "brought my own", my opinion of it echoes that with some of the brethern who rate it an over priced affair with trucked in sand. spot on. i've been spending some time out on mactuan lately looking for a house/lot and my take on it is this.

lapu lapu/mactuan island is a fast developing area, it is a circular sharped island, a main road loops the island with housing development and industrialization (**hold that thought) characterizing the eastern portion and high dollar resorts you guys are talking about on the western and southern end. yes there is golfing, yes you can go mongering, there are a number of ktv's and some look pretty decent from the outside, many cater to the koreans and japanese who invade the place on the weekends. look over towards magellan bay and the market place where all the construction on the road is taking place, you will see some ktv's with korean characters. other than that you would have cross one of two bridges and enter mandaue city (a run down dump) mandaue serves as a sort of bedroom community for the legion of factory workers who trek to lap lapu city each day 24 hrs shifts so the road is always crowded. the mongering there is set up for the filipino's. there are "casas" which i mentioned in an earlier post and a few "go go bars" that look like "dives" lining the main road before the bridge. there is also a lack of other amenities such as banks and shopping centers, that is one reason why i decided i dont want to live out there, everything one ends up doing is in cebu proper, also traffic sucks.

if you want to come into cebu city, you have to pass thru mandaue then head for the well known areas like the black hole, viking bar and of course the joy pits around osmena circle. now practically if you bar fine a girl there she is gonna be reluctant to go the whole way out to lapu lapu. so you might do better to just go to a short time hotel. if you meet a freelancer in town or one of the disco's, once again, she may balk at going out on the island.

on the other hand, those with a wing man could have a great time if they rounded up say three four girls and brought them out to have a pool party at the resort, filipina are less shy when they are among their peers or a group of their friends.

i wouldn't worry about the hotel staff too much, remember, always be nice to the guards, door men etc, tip them, bring them food/coffee, call them sir, smile and you will not have any problem bringing your "finds". of course if you act like an asshole they will show you they can be a bigger one, low profile and polite gets it. remember that they are security concious and they have to be in this day and age, more concerned with some whacko bringing in a bomb than some freelancer/go go girl banging a foreigner.

good lick...er luck

spamhog is spot on. that being said. there are other beach resorts on the east (ocean) side of mactan. around maribago blue water there's a little bay with about a dozen of them and very affordabel (2500php/night). further down is plantation bay with an amazing man-made lagoon/pool, but that's expensive. most of the activity is not beaches, but scuba, snorkeling and other [CodeWord117] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord117). moalboal is similar, even though they have a `white beach` a couple of km from town and is about 2-3 hours with a taxi or van. malapasqua island has white beaches and scubadiving on the northern tip, also 2-3 hours. all of these areas are byog unless you want to look long and hard.

Thanks for all the information on this web site. I had fun at both sunflower and pump disco. Sunflower still has hot body contest on Thursday night its a fun time. Pump is good because its small and you can run into a girl and say Hi, with out seeming like your trying to pick her up. The music is hip hop so you must be able to handle that kind of music. I would think if your under 50 this good be ok. Mango bars all girls seem to be in the 7 category. No stunners that I saw never hit top end clubs the koreans go to though. Silver dollar bar can't beat the price. I will say that the best girl I ever had was from silver dollar about 2 years ago. I went to a new club call temptation I think its around the corner from viking. Its seems like it could be ok might want to check it out. I will be back in may does anyone know of a good gym to work out at fitness first in ayla wanted 500 pesos a day way to much. Also does anyone know of a good place to stay for 2 weeks. I normally stay at cebu midtown looking for same quality lower price thanks for the info.

I went to Temptation when it was new, and then again back in Jan. At first the layout was bad, with a small dance floor in the corner. I found a hotty, had bought her a drink, and was getting in the mood. Unfortunately, she had a little spat with the other girls and I decided to bail out. When I went back in January they had changed the layout, making runway all the way through the seating. They tried to do some kind of model show, but it was so lame that I left. Hopefully they'll get it right one of these days.

As you exit Midtown Hotel, instead of turning left toward Mango, turn right. You are On Ramos, which will take you all the way downtown if you so chose. Just a short walk on Ramos and you will find Holiday PLaza Hotel and after than a gym -- both on the left side.

Holiday Plaza is not as nice as Midtown, but for 1900 includes a good breakfast buffet. The rooftop restaurant has poor service, but a nice view.

Two gyms you might want to check out, the firstis in Mango square business mall, you can walk to it from Viking, the black hole or any other of the joy spots you guys visit. Less than 800 a month and a good array of equipment.
The seocnd one is "my" gym which is located in JY square. Third floor run by Coach Pacquiao (Manny's Uncle) some of the only Nautilis machines in the Phils. A bit more expensive coz of the machines but worth it, a nice friendly little gym with AC. (P1500 month).

The latest I have on the pump is a lot of the girls outside are trying to get somebody to pay the entrance fee for them so they can get in free, once inside they disappear or mingle with their friends.

I went out to Viking & BG's last night, window shopping only as I was with my live-in girl- Quite a few chubbies, as well as a few hot bodies- Many Asian customers- Korean?. I don't know- didn't ask.

Sexy Dance Contest is every Thursday at Sunflower Disco in Lahug, near Waterfront Hotel. 14 contestants 4 or 5 cute to my eye- several chubbies who really knew how to shake that blubber- I don't bed BBW's (big beautiful women, as they like to call themselves in the USA) except by accident but I like to watch them dance- there is a quality of determined, all-out abandoned desparation that you don't find in the slender girls. There was one Very Large Woman, of the Lesbian persuasion, I think, who had some very entertaining moves that were not much like dancing.

Sunflower is big, loud, smoky & the dance floor is very small. Watch your bill. Some entrance fees (ladies night for example- ask at the door- these promos change) may be "consumable" but waiter may not ask for your ticket.

Like Cansx, I also loved Pump and found it very easy to pick up there.

Sunflower I didn't like. I found it too big and hard to pick up a girl. You have to do the picking up on the dance floor there as opposed to Pump where, because it's so small and packed, you can chat up girls just by standing at the bar

Hello guys,

Just wanted to make a few comments here. I think Pump is a great place to bring your date and show her off. The dB level is so high, it is hard to carry on a conversation there yet alone order a drink. I was wearing ear protection the few times I was there. The strobe lights wig you out pretty good too. At least half the crowd was outside sitting at the plastic tables. One thing I do like is that the security is very good. Friends have told me that fights start there because the place is so small. We counted about 20 security personnel after they kicked everybody out. This is the best time to pick up the ladies. One night we picked up three women that turned out to be dancers at Dimples!

Sunflower is big, loud, smoky & the dance floor is very small. Watch your bill.
Yes Sunflower is cavernous but you can still carry on a conversation. It has a decent ventilation system and we never got smoked out. On the contrary, they have the biggest dance floor in the area and the stage is huge! The lights are concert quality. But I do agree to watch your bill. I tried to pay for each round separatetly but the waiters would not cooperate. In the end, they did try to pad the bill and overcharge us.

Has anybody checked out Pump 2 ? It is located behind the National Bookstore in the Midtown area. They offer acoustic music during the week and Thursday through Sunday the dj spins dance music.

Hello Bingo,

Thats funny because I walked passed the joint on my way back to my hotel about 10 days ago. The place was bumpin' with the sounds of loud music and the silhouettes of people dancing in the windows. My date for the evening wasn't into going there at the time. There is also another dance club down the street that I heard about but the name escapes me.

My info may be outdated.

It was told by an acquaintance of mine who applied as bartender at Pump 2. He said he worked only a few days and got laid off. Gross sales per night was only 5,000 pesos - not enough according to manager. Pump 1 gross 50-80K pesos per night.

Maybe it re opened again.

Howdy,

Will be back in Pi next month and will be bringing a honey from AC down to Cebu for a week or more beach getaway. Last year I took one girl to Subic, but was disappointed with the beach cleanliness and notably the vermin like vendors on the beach. You couldn't watch the sunset with your girl without tons of them rudely interrupting trying to sell you pirated DVDs. Frankly they were royal pain.

I have been in Cebu once before - but only hung around the downtown area with my girl.

This time I want to escape to Moalboal, Bantayan or even as far as Malapascua Island.

I really am looking for

: economical (less than 1000 p a night accomadation) on the beach

: I don't need a 3 star with air con - clean cheap room with great location is most important.

: can eat some decent food - hopefully more than one restaurant.

: clean sand and water - I'm not a diver, but snorkelling and ocean kayak would be cool.

: quiet surroundings.

: not too much of a pain in the rear to get to from Cebu City.

: a bonus would to be able to island hop,..staying overnight in a few places.

Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions.

Club PUMP at Mango Square (behind National Bookstore) is open. I was there last weekend. It was packed then--I think I was the only white guy in the joint. Was with my gf, but I imagine a pick-up would be possible. Dance floor is small...most of the area is consumed by tables. Decent sound system and lights. P50 pp consumable entry fee. Around the corner, there is Club Mer (someone told me it was a gay club, but only time I was there it was empty so not sure), Auto Shoppe, D'Beat, and one or two other smaller clubs and Gimmick KTV. (Another KTV along Mango). I think Auto Shoppe is the best of these clubs.

Personally, I prefer a night at Mango Square over the over-priced and more commercial Sunflower. I just feel like Sunflower was purpose-built for generating revenue whenever I am there. Not a comfortable feeling if you're with a group and footing the bill! However, Sunflower does get some good live bands whereas Mango Square clubs are almost always electronic music.

I will check out the original Pump under Grand Majestic soon. It's definitely the favorite of my local pinay friends.

If you are looking for quiet beaches, white sand, great diving snorkeling and CHEAP accomidations then Malpasqua is the place for you. I have stayed out there for P900 a night in AC bungalow (Native style) that was pretty nice and had a veranda facing the water. There isn't much in the way of entertainment, one dance club on the island a few diver bars where all the lads gather in the evening. THERE ARE ALMOST NO WOMEN ON THE ISLAND, other than the few serving wenches and wifes or GF's of foreigners, so definitely bring your own and watch her coz the guys there will hit on your clara belle relentlessly. Two younger fellows(European of course) who dont understand the rules almost got various parts of their alcohol soaked anatomy broken when they followed me and Mrs Spamhog to our bungalow hoping to get lucky.

You can also go to Bantayan Island from Malapasqua, same accomidations but a llittle more touristy there area few westerners running places and a disco or two plus better food for "us". Heres how you do it. From Cebu get the air con bus at NORTH TERMINAL. You will go to port of Maya near Dan Bantayan town. From Maya you contract with a private banca to make the passing to the Island. GET THERE EARLY it is a three and a half hour trip from Cebu by bus and the Banca DO NOT SAIL after 1 PM. THEY DO NOT RETURN UNTIL NEXT MORNING. Preferably before noon, reason is the tides, wind and choppy water make it dangerous for afternoon crossing. I would take water, beer, wine and snacks with me, very little "real" food on the island.

You can get to Bantayan island from Maya or Dan Bantayan (town) up the road, bus stops in both places about an hour ride. You can also hire a private van which seats like ten people. Best to let you lady do the negotiations in all forms of transportation as some bargaining is usually required.

Good luck

Good luck

regarding the West Gorordo Hotel, I just spent 2 weeks in Cebu, staying at the West Gorordo with my gf who is from Cebu. She is , in fact the one who found the hotel for me, made the initial reservation, and got a better room rate. We never had a problem the 2 weeks we were there, although it seemed to me that the security was very strict, and there could very well be a problem if you tried to bring a different friend in every night. Can't fault the facilities though, service was excellent and friendly, good business center, close to Ayala Mall and Bo's coffee shop.( a prime pick-up spot, at least the 2 weeks I was there) Dont get the suites though, better to get a deluxe roon on the 4th floor with balcony overlooking the street/alley. Much quieter, and a constant flow of interesting foot traffic.

Base runner, check out the Richmond, right in the heart of Lahug on Gororodo
I used to stay there three weeks at a time back when, they have converted now and have more "condo" type rooms due to demand mainly from foreigners. Expect a bill of about P-20 to 25 thou, but dont forget that includes hosuekeeping. There are some smaller pensione's you can check out but these places are kind of ratty, usually go for as cheap as P7,500 a month.

To Cansx:Jy square is at the intersection of Gorordo, Salinas drive, just a walk from Sunflower disco and Northwinds hotel, I think that hotel you are at is maybe half mile or so. I would say the best place is Cebu Doctors hospital. Just up from Osmena Circle and Robinsons. Those places are in Lahug area (JY Sq) close to Ayala Mall, Sunflower disco, Osmena Circle and the bars in between like black hole, Viking and lonestar. You can also check out this pump disco near Mango square. Lots of hotels around.

Check into Cebu night life I think is the name of the web site, just type that in for a word search, lots of info on hotels etc.

Good luck to you both

Looking up the last ten days of posts I could fine only one thing that I might contribute.....

Someone asked about good med care while they were staying at Cebu Midtown Hotel on Osmena Circle. Not on O Circle, but clearly visible from most spots in that area is the Chong hua Hospital which has a good reputation as far as I know. SH would know better than I, so if he has additional info, I hope he responds.

It was gf as of 2003, can't see any reason why it wouldn't be now. Rooms were ok, sort of basic midrange. If your room faces the front you'll have a better view but you'll get traffic noise. If it faces the other way and you're on the first few floors your view will probably be a concrete wall but it will be quieter. So aim for a higher floor facing back. It might cost marginally more.

There's a very small pool on the roof. When I was there they had a so so breakfast included.

It's reasonable walking distance to Mango Avenue bars such as Club Exotica, Black Hole, etc. It's a long walk or very short taxi ride to either SM or Ayala malls. There's a gym in the area if you need it.

All I thought it was a good budget mongering option. They may have remodelled some since '03 so there may more recent reports from someone who stayed there.

You can take your chances with mango park, I beleive the renovation is done, just passed the hotel yesterday, looks like they are in full swing, always were girl friendly. You can also try eddies hotel right around the corner and still walk to the clubs mentioned herein. You say you are hiring a car and driving north, does that mean you are actually doing the driving? Are you aware that you can hire a van in several of the public outlets for about P250 a head to go to points north (I'm guessing you mean dan Bantayan, Bantayan island or Malapasqua, all great spots) You can get a van going north at SM mall, just go to the rear and see the slots they park in, one thing, the driver suually tries to get fifteen passenegrs to make his trip. Get there early and try to get the front seats, cramped for somebody with long legs. You would probably save money as hiring a car and driver might be like P4000 to P5000 total.

good luck

Yes, it is now the Crown Regency something. I stayed there last summer for a weekend. I don't remember seeing a massage service. I thought I overpaid for the room: I paid 3200pp per night and someone mentioned they used to get rooms there for 2100pp per night when it was still the Metropolis. I'd love to hear more about this place called Bogo! Although I've taken the ocean jet from Cebu City to Bohol, I haven't explored the beaches of Cebu Island (other than the disappointing Mactan beaches). Maybe next time.

My favorite bars: Lone Star, Papillion (spent several days with Janeth), and Viking (Alexa is hot if she's still there). A lot of people don't realize it, but you can go from Papillion to Dimples through a back way. Dimples often has attractive women, but the music is too loud. I get a headache after one beer. I've done very well at Black Hole, although it was dissapointing in Dec 06.

My history at Black Hole: Jam (apparently married now), Summer (could've been tighter), and one lady I met in front of the rest room. She was a dancer from another bar who just happened to be bar hopping. I gave her my card and got several days of great service.

Silver Dollar can be fun, and occasionally they hire a stunner. I had a freebie with one of the bartenders there a while back.

This town has a fair sized college, maybe others. So it's a good source of sweet, young things. I briefly had a squeeze there about 10 years ago, in the old days of pen pal letter writing.

I know there are several cheap beach resorts in the area. I think there's a pretty upscale golf and beach resort in San Remigio, a nearby town. Also, the Alegre Beach Resort (pretty expensive), is in Sogod, about half an hour or so away. It's probably better to not be right in town. That way when you take a girl back there isn't the small town, everybody is watching factor.

This place could also be a good stop to break up a trip to Malapascua or Bantayan.

Asheron,
I was at the Grand Regency hotel a couple of months ago.

It's true that the place used to be Metropolis Court and that the hotel name has changed, however the in house massage place is still Wild Orchid massage. Didn't have a chance to partake as I had my girlfriend with me, but it seemed pretty clear to me that it was still a massage "with extras" place. I'm 99% sure you'll get what you are looking for.

Please report if you try.

Anyone know if Finland massage is still in business?

See reports back in 2006 (many mentions of Finland, do a search within this thread, or just go back to around June 2006). Finland massage on Colon street.

When I was in Cebu in February (2007) I tried to find this place in a taxi. The driver said it closed, but his English was terrible and I got the strong impression he had other ideas. Tried to take me to a house in a really bad section of downtown. I don't think he even knew where Finlind massage was if it had closed (stopped on the street twice to ask). I ended up just having him take me to Fuente and hitting a couple of the local bars.

But, Finland sounded like a great place, fishbowl and all. If it really did close, I'm bummed that I missed it.

It has moved from its original location. if you stand in front of Gisano main, walk towards carbon/the port staying on the right hand side. go about three blocks (think opp closed branch of cebu bank) turn left and there is a big glass frontage on the ground floor and you should see finland massage lights flashing.

Ex Internet , I dug the following up :

"Finland" has moved to "Luym" (Pron : Loo em) Building , on the corner of Juan Luna and Plaridel Streets. Coming down Osmena Blvd , you cross over Colon St , Osmena changes its name to Juan Luna St. Further down on right hand side you will find Plaridel St sign , Finland is on that corner. All taxi drivers know Luym".

What is the Best Beach to visit in Cebu? thanx :)

P.S I will report on the Metropolis Court / Grand Regency hotel in September without fail, I will be there for 1 week.

It is still a great place to go, especially during the day. I was there two weeks ago, can recommend # 50 and 24.

Both girls fulfilled all my wished, one including posing for pictures. Just go in the room, undress and wait for the girl you selected at the entrance. Then suggest to shower together. She will even there start to suck you .... just go from there.

Enjoy,

Can't answer since you didn't give enough info. There is no beach in Cebu city, so how far out of the city are you willing to travel?

The nearest "beaches" are on Mactan Island, which is where the airport is.

I have gone swimming just north of Cebu City at Carman, but the shore was rocky. Does anyone know if there is a beach south of Cebu City -- maybe near Talisay. That could be a one day trip.

So, where is the best beach on Mactan?
Which beach resorts on Mactan are reasonably priced?
(I understand Hadsens is where the locals go)
Where is the best beach on the island of Cebu?

In Cebu City, you can go to Pier One, Ocean Jet ferry can take you to Taclabaran Bohol in 90 minutes, and then a 20/30 minute drive to the white sand of Alona Beach.

Most of the beaches here are for the Locals as Xman says, Mactan has the "best" beaches but they are all man made and you have to stay at places like Shangri La (P10,000) a night to enjoy them. There are a few beaches in Talisay, south of the city and in Minglanilla also south, but once again these are for locals, I'm sure you could find some local dolly who would take you there and loll around playing grab ass in some rented (P10 a day) "Buhay cubo" but it is not what you would find in a "resort area" dont forget Moalboal a few hours ride away and Malapasqua island, plenty of foreigners there demands decent places to stay and nice beaches but definitely BYOB.

I understand the jet boat to Bohol is offering some sort of promo over the next few months, one way trip is P520, return for P380 or something.

All of the beaches on Mactan certainly are NOT man made. I have been to a couple of very nice small cove areas that have a secluded area that is very sparsely populated. I cannot remember the name of it but wil let you know as I wil be going again next week. From memory the entrance was less than 200 for the day. It is not a resort as such but more of a private and quiet beach. Just the way I like it!

spry man is right, not all of the beaches are man made, but the quality of the natural places are not exactly the same class as what you might see in the others areas i mention, just dont want to disappoint you. you might want to check out mogondon beach area and a place called pado resort. it is managed by koreans and caters to them, they do have such things as jet ski rental and day dive tour, of course you can swim in the rocky (imho also dirty) beach area. right next to this place is a filipino 'resort' about p10 a head on weekends, you might swim there too if you dont mind an occassional dirty [CodeWord132] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord132), used kotex floating by or chicken bones thrown in the water.

Ha, ha, it was only after I read this post that I realized SH misquoted me -- I never said all the beaches were man made. I thought I might have written that the nice resorts were all man-made, but couldn't find me writing that either. Mr. SH, you owe me a cup of coffee! Oh, never mind. I probably owe you a few after all the great info you've shared.

I remember a 1990 visit to Mactan (first time to Cebu) where I did some fairly nice snorkeling, and saw some kids spearing fish (it was near some kind of pier). I also remember watching people come in by boat from the other island (Olang?) with all kinds of basket ware. I have a few pictures including a small chapel and some tricycles, but none of the beach. I tried to walk down the beach (completely empty), but some security guard came running out and said there was a usage charge. I was just a poor student at that time so I retreated. Also took a Mandaue girl there in 2000, paid some hefty usage charge and then, and THEN.... poolside she tells me she's on her period/ doesn't want to go swimming/ didn't bring a swimsuit anyway -- Uh, NOW you tell me?

I've pretty much hated Mactan beach resorts ever since.

A few years ago I hired a tricycle to take me all along the coast, but I couldn't find anything that looked familiar to my 1990 visit. I hope it still exists.

Spry Man, I'm looking forward to your P200 beach review. Surely it can't be as bad as SH suggests. What is the local / foreigner ratio.

And SH, what is the name of the place with a 10P entrance? Let me guess, all the women wear shorts and t-shirts when they swim....and that is rare since they'll be hiding in the shade to maintain their, ummm, whiteness.

The island you refer to is Olango, it's some kind of bird sanctuary, but is also inhabited. I usually rented a banca on Mactan and cruised the strait between Mactan and Olango for several hours, stopping at the reataurant on stilts for lunch. We would then go midway back towards the end of Mactan nearest Cebu City and "swim" (I would swim and the girls would walk on the reef). Nice way to spend a day.

I believe the best beaches on Mactan are at the resorts, the Filipino places I stayed at had little, if any beach (Cebu Marine for one, have forgotten the others). But I digress, I did not go there for beaches, LOL.

Is this jet boat from Mactan island?

And the return trip for P380 is that for both ways or for each way on a return ticket = P760 return?

I would appreciate any more info you have on this (eg. name of company, phone number, website, departure times etc).

Thanks!

The Jet boat leaves pier one in Cebu, several times during the day, (9 :30 and 11:50 A>M) are two times I remember. Round trip to Taglibaran (Bohol) is P520 regarding this special. You can get a ticket at most travel outlets in Cebu, there is one in Ayala Mall where you can get that and Cebu air along with various ferries. I'm not sure if they have a website, probably do, just type in a word search for jetboat, Bohol, Cebu.

In addition to what Spamhog says....

It is not a "jet boat". The name of the company (or service?) is "ocean jet". It is relatively faster than other boats that ply the waters of the Philippines.

The boat goes to Bohol and then on to Dumaguete, Negros. Each leg is about 90 minutes. There are other destinations.

Pier One is just a short walk from Fort San Pedro / St. Nino church in downtown Cebu city.

I will be in Cebu for a month or two and looking for a condo for rent for short term. I have never been to Cebu and wondering what area are the nicer areas. If any one knows of a web site that might be helpful in finds short term vacation rentals please pass them on. Any information would be helpful. Thank You.

One month rent is pretty much a hotel, unless you are looking at 4 or 5 star. But they too are really like a hotel, just that they have kitchens.

Reluctantly, I recomend Richmond Plaza for month to month. It's about 2-3 star and the price is EXCELLENT discount. I think I just had bad luck last time I did a 1 1/2 month stay. Problems (nothing HUGE). Prior stay was great.

They are the best value. Check 'em out.

Right now am staying in a place had never known about which is directly across from ayala. The Royal park ...Great for 2-3* Litle like mango park but much better price.

At the risk of bringing competition to a place that often sells out the good accomidation, I have to point out that Xman is right and there is little reason to go anywher other than Alona, or Pangloa in general. It's quite quick to get there. You could go for just the day, but should at least spend the night. To my thinking it's go more than Bantayan or further places. There a nice mixure of foreiners on Alona so it can be a little social if you want that. There is awsome snorkling and diving all around the island. There are also excurtsions to smaller islands for scuba.

But it's quiet enough that you can be alone with your honey.

As to Mactan, you can go to Maribango Blue Waters(spelling wrong) which is about 5-8 USD to use their beach. There is another more afordable resort which will let you use their beach and has a decent one. I THINK name begins with "B". Blue waters is definately best best. Hasan or whatever has a crappy beach and a TON of Filipinos (families mostly) and almost no white guys/girls.

I'm horrible remembering names, but I may be taking out a six month lease near country mall, which I THINK is in Banilad. Across from country mall is the relatively new "Banilad town center". From talking to a Filipino employee of mine, this is the best place to meet "good" girls in a BAR setting. I don't like the discos because you can't talk.

This area of cebu is considered relatively more expensive. I would guess tourist don't know to go there and aren't interested in the middle class girls (went to college, have more in common with me) there . Sunflower may have a similar mix ...many girls are not poor or uneducated unless they are doing P2P there, She mentioned there are 2 or 3 such bars and I should go there. What I would want to do is find "middle class" girls for casual nookie (a hit or miss) or as girlfriend.

I really know of no other Bars with this description, unless the music is too loud to talk. Anyone been to these...care to give a "review" of them?

Are we talking about Gaisiano Country Mall? I've been in the area a few times. There is a relatively new place called Badger which caters to foreigners. It is a sports bar / restaurant. Once I was upstairs and they had a tango lesson going on with a few hotties. I don't think you'll find many ladies here that are unaccompanied, but you never know. Going toward the mall from Cebu, it would be on the right side just past the intersection after the mall. If things are still the same, you will find different flags of the world in the 1st floor windows which you can see from the street. I've never had a taxi driver who knew where the place was. It would be an easy walk from the mall though.

On the same side, but before the mall, there is a Pinoy disco / live music place. It has a unique and clever name, but I cannot remember it to save my life. I'm thinking opposites... Naughty and Nice? Someone help me out here. When I was there it seemed to be mostly large groups and noise would be a factor. Find a table near the ladies rest room.

In the mall, try the Lighthouse Restaurant (for food).

Think I first visited it about 3 years ago, last visit about a year or more ago, and yes I did get lucky there with two nice non professional girls, but it was a case of luck more than anything else. Had a friend with me, he took pretty ones girl friend. We never expected to score there, but score we did.

Someone I have known for about 20 odd years was Manager then and he had no intention of encouraging hookers, but numbers were down and the wages have to come from somewhere, might as well be sophisticated hookers and mongers.

I have not returned since cause its out of the way for me and they play the music and sports casts too loud for my liking. Nice furnishings, lots of money spent on the place but doubt it will ever amount to anything. My friend manager is not the jovial type nowadays, he got married to a Filipina, you know what I mean. A place like Badger needs a smiley sociable type to make people feel welcomed. It's rather a soul less place for me.

I don't know if the Sandpit is still operating, not far away from Badger. Always forget to check it out. Much more lively place, but long time since I have visited it.

Our Place downtown has had a resurrection of sorts last time I was in town, but you still have to run the gauntlet of pimps to get in and out of the place.

Ever since the demise of the Kentucky Bar, Cebu has lacked a decent watering hole.

If anyone knows of a good bar, minus hookers, where guys can have a nice break from "buy me ladies drink" and the like, please lets know.

I was in Cebu two weeks ago and I found El Gecko (owned by a Swede and a Brit) located on Mango Ave between Mango Park Hotel and the Mango Ave girlie bars. Opens at 6 or 7pm 'til late.

Just guys drinking, listening to Eric Clapton and chatting with the pretty pinay bartenders (say hey, Juvy), very chill.

They serve mexican food but the pizza looked good, regrettably didn't sample either.

Arrived in Cebu on Monday morning. Staying at the Rajah Hotel, 2400 p for a standard room (double), includes breakfast for two. I like it becasue it is centrally located and don't mind walking.

Went to McDonalds for breakfast and a girl sitting there followed me to a nearby internet cafe and sat down next to me. Gave me sad story about needing money to get papers for a job. Again, I politely, but firmly refused.

Approached many times while walking to Mango Ave bars, especially near the "National Book Store." A rather good looking one offered her services. When I menioned the "things" I wanted her to do she willingly said yes. However, Mr. Priapus took a back seat to my good sense, I finally told her no. Street action is just a little dangerous. Lot of pimps on Mango Ave with what appeared to be "very young" girls - be careful.

For old times sake did the usual rounds, Dimples, Papilon, Viking, etc., are all bars with a 1700-2000 Bfine. What a ripoff. Need to find/try new places.

Lonestar was ok. Bfine was 750p, but the girl wanted 2000, did not feel like negotiating so I left.

Of note - Exotica is now called Stars, stopped in but did not stay, only had one dancer. It had the look of a sick animal.

The owner of the Black Hole made it smaller and opened another club right next door. It actually looks like there are two Black Holes. Don't know if the heavens are ready for two Black Holes.

Teribble experience in "BGs Bikini Bar" next to Eric the Reds. Went in to have a drink. Because I would not chat up one of their girls the bartendress actually started ridiculing me. I mean this was not joking, it was the real deal in ridicule. Just turned and walked out. My advice is steer clear of this place.

Silver Dollar again was the best place for the money. Drank there for a awile, moved on to the other bars, but came back again. Bar fined a cutie named "Merle." Great bj and preety good lay. Funny thing, she would not do it doggie because she claimed her "pussy makes air sucking noise." Only problem was she claimed her mother was in from Bohol and wanted to leave around 6am. Don't know if it is true but, what the hell, she was still a little demon in the sack.

One more night and on to Manila

Okay Gents here are a few "daytime" bars or regular places where you wont be hasseled by hustlers pushing lady drinks or whatever.

The sandtrap is still alive and kicking, however it has changed a great deal,
No more "driving range" that gave it its name, it was a tennis court but now zero.

Sinners and Saints I've reported on a few times, right across from "Country Mall" not open until 9 PM, a rather upscale crowd where you might just meet an upscale lady, mainly a Filipino crowd.

Ratsky's in inside Ayala Mall, (open in afternoon) the end with all the resturaunts, a band which can get noisy later in the evening but you can sit at the bar away from it. Rather high priced drinks, I see upscale ladies in here On a Fri/Sat nightbut they are not as bold or forward as those in sunflower, but some do give you "the look"

Also in Ayala Mall is "Hap Japs fusion" an outside terrace inside bar, but a bit high priced, as is Tequila Joe's, nice bar, wide screen TV and a great menu.

Also try "Eddies" coffee shop, open from 7 am until 2 PM, closes in the afternoon until six that evening then open again. GREAT DECOR, like an old west Saloon, with some interesting taxidermy works and antiques. Since Im a teetotaler, I like this place for the menu, great apple pie & coffee, nice to sit at the bar and watch HBO but you can have a beer before lunch time too. Located on Birones st near Sto Nino Basilica.

Problem is he closes in the afternoon.

Good luck and stay outta the sun!

Thanks Spamhog for that Bar info , some of which I did not know about and will try when next in town.

Although I have my initials burnt into one of the poles at Eddies Coffee Shop Bar. Coffee Shop started in the 1950's no less. Did you ever meet Eddie ? What a character , what stories he had to tell. Some say they were just that , stories , I say no , he was the type , had the money , name , and looks to experience those things. He offered to go into business with me , but I do not like partnerships. I am not a team player , as some already know. Never knew if he was serious about the offer , he certainly covered some topics including that partnership in another country where I resided !

Yes , seeing I had been a customer for so many years one of the Waiters burnt my initials onto one of the poles. He told me only VIP's get that treatment. I think my consistently generous tips over the years and the hopes of more , had something to do with it too , ha ha.

Papa Wheelie , I offered you free beers if your nominated bar turns out to be suitable for my purposes , that is , talking bullshit at bars , ha ha. That post wifh offer in it has disappeared. Perhaps the software does not believe me.

I am not joking about that offer , if its my kind of oasis , its on , free beers for a night. Ask Juven if she ever worked at Kentucky Bar , although she'd be in her 40's now if she is one and the same Juven who worked there in the 1980's

Nice Board , Cebu Board , plenty happening.

I am sorry I never had the pleasure of meeting Eddie and never will, Eddie passed on and is now having coffee (or is it whiskey?) with John Wayne, Iron Eyes Cody and Lee Marvin. The manager (filipino) is quite a colorful character himself with plenty of amusing stories about Eddie.

Re Spamhogs Post

That colorful filipino character you mentioned Spamhog could well be one of Eddies sons. Reputedly Eddie had 7-8 wives whatever , I saw some of them and Eddies offspring when they called in at the Cof Shop to say hello.

Reason I think that it could be his son , last time I was in the Coffee Shop it still had the coldest beer in the Philippines , the roast corn beef was as good as ever , and the Coconut Pie was the same. All as they were 30 odd years ago and right up to Eddies demise. He'd have to have a mestizo look to be Eddies though , you'd think.

Otherwise the management and waiters believe in ghosts , and they think Eddie is watching over them. He was strict in how his Coffee Shop was run. Hence everything excellent. Couldn't fault it , only the location.

4th July Sioree. Yeh that would be great , must meet some of you ISG personalities one day. Great place for a sioree , excellent. Beer , food , decor , atmosphere great.

But this year I will not be in Philippines at that time of the year , but must meet some of you guys some time in the future. Yourself , Xman , Martians , Trimkeeper , CebuLocal , Dashing Don , the list goes on.

I've always wondered how many guys have met the Handles. And even more so wonder what they thought when they did meet the Handle , ha ha.

A lengthy post on your 4th July Sioree would make an interesting read. I'll lurk on this Board to see who else is going to that Soiree. Eddies Coffee Shop is a great choice for a get together of the brotherhood.

I've exceeded myself lately with posts , must now get back to other matters. Nice talking to you guys.

Guys,

I'm an outside to the Phillipines P4P scene and stopped by here to check it out in relation to the area with which I'm more familiar. I know you can't really get a handle on what's happening from just a browse or two, but I've spent a decent amount of time RTFF and I have a few impressions. Tell me if I'm way off, or if it's just a timing issue.

But my perception from reading here about 5 pages back or so is that there are virtually no takers on the girls that you do see, hardly any reports on actual action, and little action. Is that accurate? Or am I missing something? It seems to be a time of discussions about hotel, what's going on at the moment, business stuff and general expat info.

Is that just me coming by here at a bad time, or is the P4P scene in THAT dead?

I'm not being critical, but I thought it was pretty active. But I think I've seen about 12 posts of a guy stopping by a place and saying there was nothing going on, and that there was nothing worth taking home, and then more posts about what bar is doing what and who's music is too loud etc. It seems like there's a great expat community of monger and you all know each other pretty well. But is anybody getting any action. (actually you guys do seem to all have freebies at the ready and on tap at all times, so maybe no one hiring it out any more they're just giving it away---OK in that case I'm definitely interested LOL).

Again, I'm not intending to be critical to those of you who live in and love the Phillipines, it's jsut an impression.

I'm not sure what you're on about. Billpsu had a post just a few days ago writing about his bar hop and bar fine.

Are you specifically interested in Cebu? A lot more action in AC and Manila, but you never have to be alone in Cebu either.

As for bar reviews vs. hotel / restuarant reviews, I generally prefer the later. I know how to get laid in the Philippines and as for the bars, I'm gong to hit most of them anyway....and they change day to day.

If I don't like a bar, I pay my bill and walk. If I am dissatisfied with a hotel, I have to pack my bag, find a new place, unpack my bag....it's a serious waste of time....

And what the hell does "the area with which I'm more familiiar" mean?

[QUOTE=ArchieLeach]Guys,

X ManHe probably is comparing this information to somewhere like Pattaya and trying to decide whether a trip to Cebu is worth it.

I agree with you on what information is most useful on this board.
Getting laid in the PI is like shooting fish in a barrel, whether its AC, Manila, Sabang, Cebu etc.

For anyone that is interested in meeting girls outside of the bars, as long as you dont come across as a drunken bum and can dress half decently then it is very easy to attract a girl to go on a date. Many of them leap at the chance.

X Man: "And what the hell does "the area with which I'm more familiiar" mean?"

Correspondent has it.

I'm trying to decide if The Philippines is a place I want to come. I know BKK, SIN, HK, FIN, LON, NY, Phuket, and many cities in the US pretty well, But I've never been to the Philippines.

X Man: "I'm not sure what you're on about."

What I'm "on about" is that there didn't seem to be many posts of action in Cebu. I'm trying to decide if I want to come or not. I tried to ask if that was the case, or if that's just the nature of how the Board was panning out at the moment with other discussions happening to be going just now.

I tried to ask without offending anyone. Apparently I was unsuccessful.

I do thank you for this piece of useful information: "A lot more action in AC and Manila, but you never have to be alone in Cebu either. "

That's what I was trying to find out.

If you have mongered a lot in LOS, such as my old stomping grounds in BKK, Pattaya and Phuket (where I used to live) then be prepared for some startling contrasts. There is NOTHING in Phils to compare with LOS, yeah AC and Makati/Ermita tries but it is a shallow facsimile. Basically the Phils monger areas tries to immitate BKK and falls short, that doesn't mean you wont have a great time and meet lots of lovely ladies, it does mean that there is a different "flavor" to such activity here Vs LOS. Having many discussion on this board about same, I wont begin to coampare the filipina with her scarlet sister counterpart in Thailand from a purely sexual stanpoint.

Ever been to Chamgmai? How about Khon Kean up north? Well either city is comprable to Cebu. Changmai is reported to have the most beautiful women in LOS, same for Khon Kean in regards Issan territory. Well Cebu has that rep here and is well deserved.

You will notice the bars that cater to mongering are not so numerous as in various LOS locales, nor are they open 24/7, but you dont need a gogo joint to find female companionship, you will be approached at the local mall or you can line up a few dates ahead of time ont he internet, you will find more English speakers and more articulate than your usual Thai "Issan princess."

Fellow Mongers,

Im a veteran of the northern Philippines: Manila, AC, BB, PG but I am making my first trip down to Cebu and will be staying in the Marriott for a few nights looking for some action during the Chinese May Holiday. After reading through approximately 15 pages what is the general consensus: What are the best places for nightlife in Cebu? As far as Daytime activities is Scuba Diving an option from Cebu City or would I need to stay out on Lapu Lapu. An ideal combination would be something similar to Puerto Gallera dive in the day and Monger at night. If not I'll spend a few days Mongering and then head off some where to do a bit of Scuba.

Also, is there any action to be had on Boracay? I was there back in 2004/2005 but with my GF at the time so I didn't take much notice. Would it be better to bring a girl up from Cebu? All opinions and advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

DG69

Stick to the Mango Ave. bars and to Silverdollar near Fuente Osmena (not far from Mango Ave.)

Do NOT visit a Casa or a KTV, don't care what your taxi driver says... Service is bad ('korean style') and prices are ridicolously high. There is not one reason to visit such places, except suffering of too much money and time...

There are scuba diving options, but I don't know how good they are.

Are you interested in freelancers or 'good girls'? If not, maybe Cebu isn't the best place for you concerning that you have been to Thailand, AC and Manila already...

hey guys !

what is zhe best way to find some girls for a threesome in cebu city?

this is the spamhogs favorite, a tag team of lovelies. yes if is available in cebu and from some sources other than the bars. i will be sending you a pm
with some specifics concerning this.

a word of caution, be careful, two girls can rip you off, drug you or set you up (one being ****) easier than one, so for the mean time, you might want to avoid freelancers (other than those i recommend) and stick with a bar fine.

the lone star bar was my previous venue for this one, problem is that is almost three years in the past now so things may have changed. however a dancer by the name of "fay" (slim, light skinned, maybe 25, has a tattoo of the symbol for nuclear waste/biohazard on her butt) used to indulge your truly. i worked it so that i didn;t have to barfine her, would call her up and she would make arrangements with another girl, come to my hotel etc. they didn't do any lesbo stuff but my understanding is that some of the girls in the bars will and do.

the other venue i can recommend is www.adultfriendfinder.com, many "pros' and "semi'pros" list in there and many do doubles, etc.

good luck

Since you are staying at the Marriot, you are centrally located for some good mongering, close enough to the mango ave bars, close enough to Ayayla (freelancers) in Ratskys and of course the Sunflower disco and you can go out to Lapu-Lapu city for your diving. Check into PADO resort (www.padoresort.com.kr) this place is run by Koreans but very nice, they have several places and dive spots including some small islands north of Mactuan island. Yes there are some bars in lapu Lapu city but kinda far from your hotel.

If you want some terrific diving check into an overnight trip to Malapascua or Bantayan islands three and four hrs north of Cebu respectively, these places are strictly byo babe but this is the Phils and you can find a willing lady anywhere.

As far as Boracay goes yes plenty of available diving and with some better equipment and nicer dive boats, some night action around cocomangas shooters bar, but the "ho's" there are not very appealing, local's mostly, best to BYOB.

Good luck

Diveguy,

Hi, Like you, I like to dive during the day and monger at night and Sabang is perfect for that.

I am travelling to Phil soon and I am planning to spend some time in Sabang BEach at the end of the trip but I am looking for other dive/nightlife areas in and around Cebu. I am currently thinking about Moalboal but need to do more research.

Have you found any ideal places in your research?

I was in Moalboal for New Year's Eve for about a week. It's not a bad place at all. The diving is good if you can time it for the decent visibility periods and it has a very laidback atmosphere. There are actually a few bars around and a lot of the waitresses freelance discreetly. But the main way to score is to be there at the weekend. On Friday and Saturday nights people come from all around even as far as Carcar to go to Pacita's disco (part of the Pacitas Resort). I would say in a paced disco of 150 people about 90% of the women were looking for business.......Of course this was holiday season so YMMV

I used to go diving off Mactan a few years ago. Once I had my fill of dead coral and nearly fishless water I gave it up. Maybe some of the sites on the other side of Olango island have something to see, but you would have to start earlier to get there. Keep in mind that it's a ride of 45 minutes or more if you're starting from the Marriott, depending on the traffic. If you really really want to go diving while you're in the city that's your option.

Moalboal, on the other side of Cebu island, has good diving. Like Vigo said there are many pickup opportunities. They won't be official pros, more like student types trying to pay for their tuition.

Boracay is definitely better if you BYO. Any girl you take there will be your fuck friend for life. If you're there alone you can try Cocomangas or something like that. You won't necessarily have much to choose from though. If you're going in May it might be a little better, since it will still be holiday time for students.

The best place I've seen that combines diving and mongering in the same place is Puerta Galera. Dumaguete is good if you have a girl that you met online ahead of time. The diving is out of town a bit. Moalboal is pretty good. Others, like Malapascua and Bohol, are mainly BYO.

Last time I went there we stopped at Goldielocks and bought some day old sliced bread to take diving. Once in the water, suddenly we were surrounded by hundreds of fish wanting a free meal. But your right in that there is much better diving in other spots, if you have the time.

Hi Everyone,

I am going to Cebu next week and staying there for about two weeks. I am in my 50s and would like to get some actions with the women in my age group. I see most girls in the bars are very young. They are just not my type. Any advice about getting hooked up with women also in their 50s?

Thanks

Make a right out of the Rajah walk to the corner and make another right. One or two good cell phone places along that street. Don't go any further than about four ordinary city blocks. Bought a cell phone in the mall for 2100p, saw it there for 1200.
