RGThe typhoon Pablo didn't didn't do much damage in Davao. We had a steady, at times intense, rain all day and moderate winds, but surprisingly little flooding. Other areas of Mindnanao got hit very hard I'm told.

The typhoon that crossed SE Mindanao, named Pablo in PI and Bopha outside the Philippines, was not a problem in Davao city.

I have a GF who's family lives in Cateel, its seaward of that Compostela valley area you hear about in the news. She tells me cell phone signals are down. A family friend walked / got a ride to where the cell towers were up, and managed to get an intermittent call out. I came to Davao to see her, but she is a wreck emotionally. Imagine if you knew your family were in a concentration camp, kinda hard to have fun. So I gave her a few thousand and she left to see if she could get through to her family. She can tell me when she comes back if the road is open.

I found a large farm truck and driver willing to take me up there, but I don't think it will work. I can't afford to fill the truck with rice, and I have no idea how many people will be there. Dozens, hundreds, a thousand? Newspapers report hungry people have been mobbing relief deliveries. The army does say they can provide escorts. If my GF makes it there and back, I may take a 4WD car up and let her pass some stuff to her family as discreetly as she can.

The people there are screwed, as it seems many / most of the coconut trees were pushed over, and along with some mining, that was the crop. I guess it takes a few years to grow the tree. If it was rice, I would think they could be back in business within a few months. So they will need to be fed. And supply will be along these crappy roads, only so much stuff will be able to get in per day.

So eventually they will have to bring the people to the food I suppose. I am not a UN staffer I would think they have a plan?

One good thing I understand most of these places has a source of fresh water, although the paper mentioned diarrhea was starting in some camps. At least, assuming they can find fuel, they can boil fresh water.

Paper was saying that besides food, they needed blankets, sleeping mats, and slippers.

Another girl I know, but have not met, has been asking me for help. For her it will be the regular deal, if I like her 1000-2000p plus taxi fare. If you are outside the area, and want to help, I suggest donations to INTL Red Cross.

A Malaysian terrorist was surrounded and shot in Davao last night, just a stone's throw from Apo View hotel. Seems he and his GF were preparing a R / C mortar shell bomb carried in a backpack.

They have totally-nude bold shows in Davao. I had no idea. Butt-naked girls smearing soap all over themselves. Drinks about 150p. Pretty seedy.

Guys in AC and Manila are always whining they don't get nude shows.

Is the name or location a secret?I think he was referring to the three Hot Legs bars, all of which, as far as I know, feature "Shower Shows," in which the girls take nude showers on stage and then often pass through the audience with a bar of soap and ask patrons if they want to wash them. Hot Legs 1 used to be across from the Royal Mandaya Hotel, but it's moved somewhere around the corner. Hot Legs 2 is on San Pedro Street, about a kilometer from city hall. Hot Legs 3 is just off Rizal St. And is the smallest, newest and cleanest of the triumverate. All of the girls are available for take out and Hot Legs 1 and 2 have VIP rooms. It's true that 1 and 2 are fairly seedy, but they're safe.

GEThanks GE. It sounds like hot legs has a monopoly in Davao City. I have stayed at "My Hotel" on San Pedro many times and just noticed there was a Hot Legs located just down the block. So near, I *must stop by on my next trip.

Bob, there are others. You can for example walk left from MyHotel and then left again and you will come to some "bars" that will make Hot Legs look like the Taj Mahal. Once I found a cute girl there that could not speak much English. Was drunk as a Russian pilot but she got a nice pearl necklace and a little taste as well. Just be careful with the bucket of water and the cloth they use to wipe off all the customers with. LOL. A first class establishment for first class mongers!

I am coming to Davao on the 27th or 28th, flying in and need advice on transportation. I need to get to Maragusan. Is there one central bus terminal? I don't want to take the local bus stopping every three kilometers for a farmer and his goat and chickens, so might want to hire a van to take me. Approx cost? Any suggested alternatives?

Thanks for any advice. PS, on the way back, can stop in Davao for a couple of days to meet / greet / enjoy the fine dining. You should put your post here on the Davao thread and not bury it inside the DS thread.

More people will read your request then.

Maragusan is in Compostela Valley (Comvalley in local jargon). Cannot imagine why anyone would go there. It has been devastated by the recent heavy rains. It must be a woman, and she must be worthwhile. Chances are they will be wiped out and hope that you will be the "white knight" riding to the rescue. Of course, I might be completely wrong too LOL.

Personally, I would pay her to meet me in Davao, but if you MUST go, then I would hire a van to get there, as travel in this area is a bit problematic with banditry and NPA activity on occasion, especially as you head east.

All my travel in Davao Oriental has been in a private car.

No idea about costs. Bargain what you feel is a fair deal.

A friend of mine had problems last week there. They would not allow a girl in. Only until 7:30 pm guests are allowed in the room.

Nothing could convince them. Now doesn't that remind me of elementary school camp? .

Besides that I doubt if they can hold that up since most booking sites likes Agoda and Hotels. Com use the "max 2 person" condition.

But why start a fight. Just book the Marco Polo (almost same price) or Casa Leticia and you are your lady are welcomed with a

Smile.

Although when I attempted to check in at about 2pm I was informed there were no rooms available yet and I needed to wait a couple hours until my room was ready. I requested early check in and was not happy with the news and told the desk girl so. After going back and forth with a couple of the desk girls I asked to speak to the hotel manager.

.With all due respect TW, hotels all over the world list the check-in time as 2pm. Most sites say that they will try to accommodate an earlier check-in but that it cannot be guaranteed.

I think that by demanding that you have one and making a scene risks going to the bottom of the pack, even if you were there at around 2pm.

I usually also ask for an early check-in when I book but I would say my success rating is around 50:50 regarding getting one in most busy hotels, especially since I am usually arriving at around 9 or 10am.

My experience has always been to tell the check-in clerk that you will sit in the lobby and wait until a room becomes vacant.

Invariably, they will then give you the next room that has been cleaned and is ready for occupancy (as happened to you). The wait is always minimal.

I think that to deny yourself staying at Marco Polo on the basis of "no early check-in" or "one duty supervisor wanting your CC" is a bit drastic given that you did state that, overall, you had a good stay.

Well I was there at 2pm and was not excited about waiting two more hours while they checked in all the government officials first. I never demanded or made a scene but I did persistantly request a room and suggested they compensate me for having to wait. I don't like waiting. I'm sure they would not have had my room available so quickly unless I complained / explained I was not satisfied waiting an additional two hours.

My reason for looking for another hotel besides Marco Polo on my next visit is not because of the check-in issue but mainly because nothing stood out at the hotel for me that makes me fall in love with their high prices.

From what I understand Marco Polo does not have much competition to measure themselves with.

I would stay there again unless I found something else more affordable that meets my needs.

I agree that the Marco is a decent hotel, but it's not worthy of its (perhaps self-awarded) five star rating, and in most countries with stricter rating criteria, would likely be a four star.

As I've said before, there's a new hotel, called the Park Inn, that's opening in February. I've been invited to breakfast there on Monday by the GM, who is in the process of training the staff, and I'll report on my first impressions. He's from Norway, and the hotel is part of the Ramada chain, and should be a decent business type hotel. The fact that it's got a European manager is encouraging.

That said, I'm staying right now at the Shangri-La in Makati, and when I tried to check in yesterday, realized that they had screwed up my reservations-wrong number of nights, wrong type of room, etc. However, the hotel immediately made me feel better by upgrading me to the club floor, and profusely apologizing for the error. That, to me, is the mark of a good hotel. All hotels make errors, but the willingness to rectify the situation, and to do so graciously separates the best from the rest of the pack in my opinion. Even the Shangri-La however has a surprisingly lousy wine list given the price and sophistication of the hotel.

Those who are familiar with Davao know that the Swiss Deli on Lanang is the best spot in Davao for finding European cheeses, sausages and a decent selection of wines. About a year ago, the Swiss guys who own the place opened a second branch in Matina, in partnership with an English chef who used to work at the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong. Last night, I had a meeting there and so went for the first time.

It's a very attractive place with ample parking, decorated in the style of a Swiss chalet. The menu, which is fairly extensive is identical to the menu of its older brother. However, the specials are entirely different and include traditional English pub food such as steak and kidney pie, fish and chips (with vinegar) , and other pub staples. The food was not gourmet, nor is it intended as such, but it was quite good as was the service. This place has become hugely popular with middle and upper class Filipinos living in the northern part of the city and while not full, was doing a brisk dinner business when we were there.

The Matina branch has a counter selling cheeses, sausages and bread which is similar to the set up at the original restaurant. It's located just beyond NCCC Mall in Matina, on the opposite side of the street from the mall.

I had been once before to this elegant restaurant in a fully restored Spanish colonial house, with lovely brick terraces furnished with comfortable tables and chairs, and a beautiful dining room with white linens and fresh flowers on the tables. I had written as well about the unobtruisive, but attentive service from a well trained staff.

Last night I returned for a second visit and was gratified to discover that nothing had changed. The menu continues to feature a wonderfully prepared and plated French-Japanese fusion cuisine. I had wasabi oysters, followed by a perfect magret de canard (sliced duck breast) , served rare as it would be in France. Dessert consisted of a thick slice of cheese cake, plus a pineapple pastry of some sort, espresso and cognac. We had two bottles of a nice Bordeaux Superieur over dinner.

This is, by several orders of magnitude, the nicest and best restaurant in the city. At $50-$60 a person it's expensive by local standards, and about what one would expect to pay in one of Manila's top restaurants. On the other hand, for those who love a varied, clever menu, and very good food and service, it's not overpriced, and the ambience is simply superb.

The place was just about full last night, and those eating there included some of the most widely known and most successful people in this city.

As I had earlier written, I was invited as one of five or six guys, to take a brief tour of the new (not yet open) Park Inn, located at the back of the new SM Lanang Mall. We had a quick walk around the hotel and then a buffet breakfast on the open terrace on the first floor.

The hotel is basically a very nice, standard three star (using a European rating system). The lobby is light and airy, and there's a large restaurant adjacent, with an attached open air, well-planted terrace with dining tables. Smoking is permitted on the terrace, which is roofed, but otherwise open and quite pleasant.

The rooms are reasonably large, and furnished with either two twin beds or a king size bed. The mattresses are firm and appear to be comfortable. Each room is equipped with a safe. Aside from a two-room suite on each floor, all the rooms are the same, except the ceilings on the 8th floor, at the top of the hotel are slightly higher. There's a wall mounted plasma TV, of the 31-32" variety mounted on the wall. When the hotel is operating fully, the room charges will range between Php3, 000-Php3, 500 depending on the season. However, beginning with the opening on March 1 and continuing through April 31, all rooms will be half price. Given that breakfast is included (and the breakfast buffet was quite large) , this is an excellent deal. The well equipped health club / gym is also located on the second floor.

There's a swimming pool of decent size on the second floor, on an exposed terrace, and there's a nice bar adjacent to the pool area. The bar will be open until about 9 each evening, with the downstairs bar and terrace available until later. There's also a glassed in tunnel on the second floor connecting to the mall and its restaurants, so no need to get wet in the rain.

Given that the hotel is co-located with the mall, taxis should be abundant. The hotel is tucked behind the mall however, so the traffic noise from Lanang, which is a major artery, should be muted almost completely.

This place is not intended as competition for the Marco Polo. It's got 204 rooms, and has been designed as a clean, modern business hotel, roughly equivalent, to most Novotels around the world. The Norwegian GM is trying to inculcate some international service standards as operating practice, and the extent to which he will succeed in this quest is yet to be determined of course. The service during breakfast was friendly and quite good, but then I was sitting next to the GM and the employees were trying hard to please.

I've seen the draft menu for the restaurant, and it's fairly large, with a decent range of international and local dishes. Since I know the person who is providing the liquor and the wines, I'm reasonably sure of a good, moderately priced selection. This is not going to be a gourmet restaurant, but it's attractive, and if the chef is any good, the food selection and quality should be acceptable.

This is an excellent alternative, in my opinion to the Apo View, the Casa Leticia, and other mid-range hotels in Davao, and I would recommend it to anyone coming here.

But I don't know yhe names; could you, please, tell me any in Davao? Thanks

I hope I will post any experiencex here. Also I read in this forum about the rental houses rates in Davao and I am surprise because here in Calinan is easy to find a nice house for 5. 000 pesos, even cheaper. My house is into a private property with gate, we are 8 bungalow houses (2 bedrooms, sala, kitchen, bathroom with shower, big "patio" on the back and nice small private garden at front). The houses are almost brand new and nice decor out and inside; not fornitures, only the wall are like a display cabinet with doors. I pay only 4. 000 pesos per month.

I see you next post.

X.Dear X man; Calinan is part of Davao del Sur; I never been in the eagle center, I know is near of the town; I been in Malagos Garden Resort. Malagos is at 10 minutes "pedicap" from the center of Calinan.

From Davao down town to Calinan is about 25 Kilometers is to take the road to Cagayan de Oro, you will go across Ecoland, Matina, Mintal, Camella. In Bankerohan (San Pedro Street) there are various VAN terminal to Calinan; the vans go when they are full (14 passenger) and the first in both ways is at 5 am and the last at 11 pm.

Calinan is a very peaceful place; you can walk alone even late at night, big market, cheap eateries and calenderias, enough stores and two big supermarket NCCC and FELCRIS and about night life there are any of "BAR" with girls you can take out very cheap and also short time hostel; I know where are the bar but I never been inside because of my GF but filipinos friends here told me about 300 pesos for a girl.

If ever do you want to visit Calinan I am willing and happy to meet you just post when do you want to come and I will tell you to meet. ALSO TO WJMPSR please to meet you here.

My asawa is from Calinan, and while it's hardly one of my favorite places, I have accompanied here there a couple of times. Just for the sake of clarity. It's not part of Davao Sur, but within the city limits of Davao I believe. I'm not sure I understand the attraction of the place, as it always seemed to be fairly undeveloped and offered little in the way of amenities that would attract the typical Westerner. On the other hand, it's peaceful, quiet and far removed from the increasingly congested streets of downtown Davao.

GECalinan is the district 19 of Davao del Sur; also the post code is 8000. Of course is a really peaceful and quiet place. About amenities. Well, too many places with good and cheap foods; Malagos garden resort, eagles center and if do you walk 15 minutes in any direction, you have a landscape views out of the stress of the cities.

About sex question I wish to tell you there is 2 or 3 "PINK BAR in the hihgway arriving to the town, in the center (almost at front of NCCC) there is an striptease bar named FANTASY, there is a street Roman Diaz with many small bar of girls. But living here there are plenty opportunities to don't sleep alone; here the salary is very low and women are working for 70-100 pesos a day in stores and resto, they need extra money always; try to any sales girl or waitress. In Calinan the normal salary for a house helper, full time and even sleeping in the house is 2000 pesos per month and I ve heard with and extra 1000 or 2000 a month you can have EXTRA SERVICES as long as you like; I got a spanish old man friend living here for 7 years and when the GF goes for a season he had a 30 pretty woman as a house helper and he paid 4000 a month for EVERYTHING.

The only question about sex here is DISCRETION but opportunities a lot.

As stated on my Manila report, apologies for the delay in this report and any subsequent hazy details. I was there for 3 nights in mid Jan. I left the Sunday morning that the floods came. After my mobile phone mishap in Manila, I lost all the intel I had gathered about the scene here and remembered other members being negative about the prospects here. So, I relied on the old fashioned intel technique. Taxi drivers. One told me about a bar in a particular area which is basically a mall (can't recall the name). Went there early evening on my 1st night but he dropped me in the wrong area and I couldn't be bothered to walk to it. I later found out that this bar is not really a pick up joint for FL's. Another taxi driver did take me out to some KTV type joints on road towards airport near the new mall, but not my scene. I soon found out that the only reliable FL (I am only really interested in these, so apologies for lack of info about any other type of girls) was what is known there as 'Central Bank'. I don't recall coming across this on the forum before.

I stayed at Hotel Uno on CM Recto st which is quite central. Being a new hotel, it is reasonably nice. Think I paid for a double to ensure gf and they do ask for girl's I'd. Service was good and paid about 900PHP / night. Think they charged for extra towels. Anyway, made my way to Central Bank in a taxi around 9pm. Quite a few girls were gathered and there was a mamasan. I liked one but she didn't speak english. There was a general issue with them requiring payment to be made there and then, which there was no chance of me doing. Eventually one that spoke english agreed to what I wanted for 1000PHP I think. In hindsight I regret not going around the block as there may have been other girls. She was wearing a loose dress and as usual there was a reason for that. Said her name was Jennifer. Single mother, as usual, in her 30's. Her body was not great and bigger than I prefer, but her service skills were decent. Shaven too. At the end I proposed my offer of commission for a preggo girl and she sounded quite promising about a friend of her's. She took my number. I also learnt that there are girls out there from 4pm till 2am usually. Called it a night despite it being about 12ish.

Next day sure enough Jennifer contacted. Said she had a preggo girl and arranged for the girl to arrive. Agreed I would pay her commission (200 PHP) to her friend. This was a younger girl and about 7-8 mths gone. Very lightly haired pussy so didn't bother shaving. Service again was decent. Nice tramp stamp too. Paid her and she left. Didn't go central bank that night. Next day Jennifer contacted early again and said she had another. Presumed it was a preggo so was disappointed when a young, petite thing without a bump turned up. After a little discussion and a call to Jennifer I agreed to keep her but would not pay any commission. Said she was 19 and half Chinese. Fully shaven this time. Some nice back tattoos also. Service (oral technique) wasn't as good as the others so.

Last night no contact from Jennifer so decided to go central bank. It was raining pretty badly that night and not many girls out. Think Jennifer was out though. I saw one slim, petite chick on her own with an umbrella but she spoke no english. After another circle, stopped for her again. Not sure how I explained my service requirements to her but agreed a deal. Think she might have been a bit cheaper too because of the circumstances. She was also one of the oldest I'd had (mid-30's) and facially not great. In the room her body was fine except for small, saggy tits. Was shaven also. Oral techniques weren't great but enthusiastic and eager to please which is all you can ask for really. V manoeuvrable with sex though. Didn't go back out because of the weather.

From what I can remember, whilst some might have been ok with licking and fingering of there arseholes, none of them agreed to anal. Photos with these girls generally wasn't a prob but I think Jennifer was a little reluctant. As with my Manila report, I am not willing to post any pics of these girls due to promises I made to them but may exchange with trusted members if assurances are made not to post them and suggestions of a suitable exchange platform / method as e-mails take too long. All in all, I would say the SW / FL scene in Davao is pretty healthy. I would definitely recommend it over Manila but prob less 'hotties' if that's what you're after. Apologies for the lack of names and digits.

Next stop was Cebu.

I have been living in Davao for two months, so I was happy to see a sign advertising for GRO's within walking distance of my house. On JP Laurel heading away from downtown, you will pass the new SM Lanang Mall on your right, shortly after you will pass an area called Damosa Gateway, about 1/2 km ahead you will see a Goodyear store on your left. Turn left just before the store. And drive back. The bar has two dance rooms, to the right if gay, to the left if you like women. This place is new and there were only 2 women dancing and not all that well. The name of the place is Venus nightclub.

My brother in law and I were the only customers. I am hoping business picks up as I like being able to walk there.

Cental Bank / Tionko has been covered here many times in the past. Distant second to the alternatives in Manila, but glad you found a hole to finish in.

Calinan is just a first class provincial hole. Unless you like this kind of province life, you should not bother.

All the best from Barba.

eonomically, davao has to be one of the brightest spots in the country, as investment-largely from filipino companies-is flooding the city and it seems like new malls, restaurants, clubs and stores open weekly. though these new establishments create more jobs, which is good news, they also inevitably worsen the traffic congestion. as this is the philippines, zoning remains a theoretical concept at best, and the notion of expanding infrastructure to accommodate increased need isn't even a theory, but an unknown concept.

i found out about two of the newer additions to the city last night, while eating at a new (to me) restaurant with my business partner. the first, a new budget hotel name orchard, just opened, and offers rooms for php800-1, 000 per night. i haven't seen it, but was told that it's attractive, offers basic but clean air conditioned rooms and has no elevators. it's directly across from victoria mall on bajada. the other place is a music bar / club opened by an american guy and his filipina wife. again, i haven't seen it but was told that it's quite large and very well appointed, with sofas, comfortable chairs and tables rep001tered throughout. i was also told that the live bands were quite good. i think the place is called effort, and it's at the end of dacadao road which i guess is still in buhangin. i asked the people with whom i was dining if the club was a pick-up spot and got the response "not yet." the bad news for those without cars is that it's a bit out of the way. the good news for those with cars is that it's a bit out of the way and thus parking shouldn't be much of a problem.

Walked over to the Venus Nightclub again last night. (Easy walk from red knight or new hotel behind sm mall). There were 4 females dancing last night, all looked pretty good. Only one problem, I was the only customer. The best looking dancer was overly pushy, so I opted for the shy one. Entry is 100 php, beers are 70 php and lady's drink is 300. I chat with the gay owner, nice guy, but this is the first strip joint where they play Celine Dionne. They need a little Van Halen.

HI everybody. I am new in this forum and, first of all, sorry about my "english"; I am spanish. 63 yo, just retired and I live in Calinan with my filipina GF for almost one year. Sometimes I go to Davao (Sopping, inmigration office.) and I contact with a girl in Davao willing to go with me and even have sex; I know there are lots of short time hotels, motels, lodges. But I don't know yhe names; could you, please, tell me any in Davao? Thanks.Yes there are plenty of short time hotels in Davao, two of the ones I use are Queensland, south of SM Ecoland, only a 5 minute taxi ride from SM. The other being Lavita Lodge on Maa road, about two minutes in a taxi from NCCC Mall. Several in San Pedro street but they are not the very nice. Queensland and Lavita lodge charge by the hour, can't remember the rate but its not expensive.

Hey there,

After some trips to Thai, Brasil, Cuba and Kenya I will go soon (Mai) for some weeks to Philipina. I plan to stay there 4 weeks and after a week Manila I will go to Davao. My plan is to stay in a hotel downtown http://www.myhoteldavao.com/index.html. Is it an good area to stay? What I need: safe area, good outgoing area in day and evening. In night I prefer to go out, have some fun and view (girls) and drink. In night I prefer to stay with a girl I know or alone (more safe). If I want a girl (new one) I prefer ST or like my girlfriend longer time with me together.

I would like to know which area is best one to have fun in evening and night.

Thanks for answerI don't think myhotel will meet your needs. First, it's on San Pedro St, in a less than appetizing area, and not near any restaurants worth mentioning. It's not a dangerous neighborhood but it is fairly seedy. I suggest, per the other poster's suggestion that you check out the Orchid, which is new, in a much better area, and likely less expensive. If you want to go more upscale, consider the new Park Inn adjacent to SM Mall Lanang.

As is the case, I imagine, with every other large city in the country, Davao's streeets have been almost desolate the past two days, and this morning was theee fastest I've ever been able to drive on the city roads. Given that most places are closed, I wound up meeting my business partner for coffee at the restaurant of the new Park Inn, which is part of the SM Lanang complex. The restaurant was packed, and when I asked, the waiter told me that all of those having breakfast were hotel guests, and that the hotel was full. Apparently it's been heavily booked since opening its doors about a month ago, and I can understand why. I've now sent three people there, all of them close friends, and each has been pleased with the hotel. The rooms are reasonably spacious and atractive, as is the lobby, the pool and the pool bar.

This hotel has no pretensions of being a competitor to the Marco Polo. Rather, it caters to business travelers and bills itself as a three star, using European and American standards. It's operated by Ramada, and I've got no hesitation about recommending it to those who neither want nor need the amenities of a five star hotel. Iwould argue that, again using US or European standards, the Marco is maybe a four star, but I'm sure you get my point. The cost of rooms varies by season, but guys should have little problem booking at about Php3, 000. The quality of the food, while not outstaanding, is good and the hotel does have a gym as well as the pool.

Not to be outdone by SM, the Abreezsa Mall (Ayala) , is scheduled to open its new hotel, called the Seda sometime this month or next. I've not been inside, but from the outside it looks very aqttractive. I think it's target market is about the same as the Park Inn, and like the latter, it's immediately adjacent to the mall, so there will be a large selection of restaurants in addition to whatever is offered within the hotel.

It's a good, straightforward no-nonsense type of hotel, with basic room facilities to suit the business traveller.

I never needed to endure it last trip but there is a "walk of shame" past the front desk to reach the elevators, and you need a keycard to activate the elevator to get to the room floors. An alternative is to enter via the walkway from the SM mall directly into Level 2 of the hotel. Just one security guy there to bypass if anyone feels insecure.

The Seda Hotel in CdO (the sister SEDA hotel is opening in Davao soon as GE explained) is now open adjacent to the Centrio Mall in CdO.

A friend checked it out. He said it is very comfortable but the room prices are excessive.

If the same prices hold for the new Seda Davao, then Park Inn is a better prospect.

we ate last night, for the third or fourth time at the white house, which is by any standard the most elegant restaurant in which i've eaten in this country. once again, the food and the service were excellent and several cuts above anything i've ever expeerienced in davao, manila or anywhere else here. i had the salmon sashimi as an entrée followed by a perfectly cooked magret de canard (duck breast) and a cerry-topped cheese cake for dessert, while my partner had a grilled prawn dish. we had coffee on the flowered brick terrace, and the entire experience was excellent. the bill, at almost php7, 000 for two was not inexpensive, but th value for money was appropriate. again, this is not a place to which you would likely take your punani of the evening, but for true dining, it's the closest i've come to europe in the philippines.

Looking for a budget hotel in decent area of davao city, reading this thread just read about one for 900 PHP and so far its my leading option.

Any others I should look at, just need reasonable clean in reasonably safe area (though heard safety isn't an issue in davao) and close to the action wherever that is, not sure if its better to be by "the bank" or one of the hot legs or a mall.

Going to stay for a week would like to do it as cheap as possible.

Also do you guys think smartbro or a globe stick would be better for internet?

ThanksThe Sampagita (maybe Sampaguita) Inn on Quirino Street is the cheapest I know of. I've never been inside so cannot comment on any aspect of the facility. I think you might be able to get a studio apartment at Red Knight Gardens for about) 1, 500 if you stay for a week. I plan on sharing my experiences on here like everyone else, but you and your handful of people that are trolling me make me not want to share anything and just be the user you think I am.You are a user. You said so yourself in an earlier post where you proclaimed loud and clear that you did NOT intend to become a member of ISG but would instead keep on asking questions and expecting answers. Users use services that OTHERS pay for so they don't have to use their own money. Maybe when other paid up members ignore you or stop answering your questions then you might realise how lonely you are.

In Australia we would call you a "bludger". Someone who lives off other people's good will. I bet you never go drinking with anyone because you would be the one who runs to the comfort room when it is your turn to buy a round of drinks. I think my history of posting will show that I have rarely (if ever) flamed others in my approx. 1600 posts but I cannot help it when I encounter a bludger like you.

BTW. I am not "sad" by any stretch of the imagination. I just had 2 nights in Cebu at a 4-star hotel and not one second of my time was sad.

Those who are partial to the executive club floor and lounge at Marco Polo should be advised that it's closed for renovations. It looks like they're going to renovate the whole hotel and this is where they're starting. The Cafe Marco, the main breakfast spot on the 2nd floor, has been redone but this may be old news for most.

The Marco is full today because of some pharmaceutical convention (here in this town where drug dealers are summarily done away with). So I'm going to brave one night at the Apo View, even though it's gotten some bad press on the parallel board

Mahku, I would choose some other hotel. As reported, Apo will give you a hard time when you bring in females. In addition to this, it is a shitty hotel. There are hundreds of other options. Casa Leticia at Peoples park is one of them. A stone throw from Apo and just so much nicer IMHO.

I was only in Apo for just the one night that the Marco was full. My visitors all came in afternoon or early evening so I didn't run afoul of any girl unfriendly policies. Is that really happening? It's hard to believe unless the place has been taken over by Bible thumpers, a la the Bethel Guesthouse in Dumaguete, which is notoriously unwelcoming to our hobby.

Only being there for a night didn't give me much of a chance to judge the service problems that have been reported elsewhere. One problem was that checking in took the better part of 20 minutes while they puzzled over my expedia booking. It seems this newfangled internet booking thang is vexing them a bit. This issue was repeated at checkout, with multiple phone calls needed to sort things out. So the stay was mainly uneventful but I saw signs of problems that they need to shake out.

Don't forget the Blue Room here for an evening out with your girls. It's comfortable and air conditioned, usually offers jazzy kinds of bands or just standard retro pop.

I have seen this hotel mentioned and recommended for newbies. I would like to add some info to give you a better understanding.

The hotel is located in Guadalupe Village, a gated community (guards at entrance and a perimeter fence). It is in the north part of Davao so transportation from the airport is reasonable. The hotel itself is clean, the food is reasonably priced, the rooms are a bit spartan. Most guests you meet at the restaurant are either long term residents or returning customers.

You can take a trike from the hotel to JP Laurel. (The main thoroughfare in this part of town) For 6php ($.15). Once you get to JP Laurel most of the time you will turn right toward town? You can hop on a jeepney and ride to Damosa or SM Lanang for about 8 php ($.20) , or you can always hail a cab. Which costs about 60 php to SM Mall. ($1. 50).

There is not much nightlife (hookers) in this part of town. I have never seen any at the Redknight unless she was with a guest. As Far as SM Lanang Mall goes, same thing, no p4p action here. Many pretty and friendly sales clerks. Damosa Gateway is nice, maybe you might get lucky. I think my bottom line for a newbie is as follows. If you have a girl, stay here. If you like an honest and friendly staff stay here. If you are not the type who can spend a couple of dollars on a taxi to find some action being either cheap or afraid, this is not the place for you.

If you like to walk from where the trike drops you, go right to the Goodyear Store. And walk back where you will find venus night club and Salambat gay bar (search Salambat on FB. And you can check out some of the girls.). Note the walk back is dark, but safe.

Further up JP laurel is the intersection with Cabaguio. This is the street where Roman Plaza is located.

However, I was talking to a friend the other day who regaled me with descriptions of recent exploits at a bar / KTV called the Blue Opera on Lanang, about half a click north of the McDonalds on the same road. He said that the place has lots of women, available for take-out or do-in and that he and his buddy had a thoroughly enjoyable time. I believe he said that his friend took two of the ladies back to his place for some late night consultations.

Other than the name "Blue Opera" fairly prominently displayed across the front of the building, there's no indication of what type of place it is, so it looks like it could be almost anything. However, my friend tells me it's well worth a visit.

(Apparently I remained conscious long enough to insult my wife who demanded a divorce the next morning, she subsequently has forgiven me for whatever my transgression was).

My friend managed to stagger out and ended up in said KTV, where he barfined a girl, took her to a hotel. The following morning he woke and the girl was gone as well as all of his money. I suggested we go complain but he could not remember much about the girl.

that's pretty good and really helps me out, thanks. now i can tell i'm mostly dealing in the second category."the adolescent individual will never question the group, no matter how irrational or stupid it behaves." i was just with a girl and i witnessed a diesel suv backed up to a crowd with the motor running. they were all sitting in a corner, grouped around the tail pipe being asfixiated by the smoke as the hideous music blared ten times louder than anyone could yell. i commented and the girl looked at me like i was a freak.

funny you write about this now ge. i have had this theory for some time about different mental stages of (the philippino) people i have had the fortune to interact with. me and my friend (you know who) spent a great deal of time discussing this during our last visit to davao. it is not so politically correct to do research on, or even talk about, differences in physical development between various groups of humans and i have no clue or guess about nature versus nurture in this particular question, but would be highly interested in reference studies if anyone knows where to find it.

take it for what it is, partly joke and partly an initial observations of a pattern i seem to have noticed, but the three mental stages i believe to have observed i choose to call those of a child, an adolescent and an adult. what a surprise, isn't it? these definitions are separated from the physical development, and even if i hope that it is totally obvious i still want to state that we are talking about individuals of age 18 year or more. one can apply this to anyone in society, but it can be fruitful to think about chasing punani to understand the idea.

the adult.

adults are not that many, at least in davao. these individuals are responsive, responsible and realistic. you will feel like you could have been talking to this person anywhere in the world. most often these individuals will be a pleasant surprise for mongers that learned to expect little and be happy for the simplest of conversations while indulging in yet another carbohydrate bomb. being a realist with a certain amount of life experience, the adult will actively choose to oversee certain flaws in you, and let you please her in ways she needs to be pleased. sex will most often be slightly inhibited, but pleasurable and free from transactions, guilt and shallow qualifiers.

the adolescent.

the adolescent individual can make you feel young and alive, but she is unpredictable. most people i meet in the philippines, both in private and in the line of my work, belong to this group. qualifications, symbolism and a somewhat prideful ego are normally a part of the adolescent individuals world, but the effects of these are random. one could for example see a continuous flow of a rather predictable behavior or performance, only to be struck by what seems to be an unpredictable change or error. the same pattern goes for mood and changes in this. the adolescent individual will never question the group, no matter how irrational or stupid it behaves. this is likely the largest group of individuals in the adult part of the philippines, so you will meet them frequently in clubs, parks, eateries, etc. it can be a challenge to qualify if the girl is pretty and / or financially stable, but she is normally both material and vain, and will spread her legs for consumption. a standard answer, cunningly used to probe your intentions in any situation will be "it is up to you".

a key for me to understand these adolescent individuals is to think about the "as if-world". when used correctly this way of thinking will in fact be a very powerful tool. a simple practical example of an "as if" would be to meet the the adolescent individual for a ice cream on your way back from work. after a brief meeting you go home alone and pick up your andros, and then you meet her again. you have now erased the imaginative threshold that stipulates that there can be no sex on the first date. it is important for her image to follow rules like this, so we pretend as if we are observing protocol. another example is to answer a question by simply just asking another question in the returning text message. we pretend as if we answer, but we are in fact voiding all responsibility to answer the first question by asking a second.

I was wondering about the mall this afternoon when approached by a fellow Caucasian. He identified himself as a canadian. I figured he was looking for the abundant mall pussy often reported here. He was as I suspected and asked if there were any "good" massage parlors near-bye. I said the one across the street was good for a happy ending. He bounded off like a horny bandicoot before I could provide more details.

I visited said parlor once, the girls was nice looking but asked for 2, 000 php which I declined. She then dropped her request to 1, 000 which I also declined, but not loud enough as she latched on like a ring tailed lemur. At my age a hand job rarely works to completion even when self administered.

Because some staff of a new project with which I'm involved here have taken space in this hotel, I had a chance to go there yesterday. Prior to this, I hadn't known of the hotel's existence, though the lady at the desk told me its been open for three years. This is a small hotel, of thirty rooms with no pool, but it's airy, attractive, and the setting-built around two outdoor terraces-is quite attractive. There's no pool, though the lady did tell me the hotel is planning to build one, but there's in-room wifi and a dining room.

The place is by no means elegant, but it's attractively furnished, looks clean, and I'm told has plasma TVs and air conditioning in each room. It's only got two floors, so there's no elevator and no obvious need for one, and my colleagues who are staying there told me the rooms are large and comfortable. The "promotional" price this month is Php2, 800, though I imagine that if it's not full, it would be possible to negotiate a somewhat lower rate.

The hotel is located just past the Grand Regal, which means it's a good 20 minute taxi ride from the center of town, but only about 5 minutes from the Damosa area.

We have begun to put all of our overnight visitors into the Park Inn, adjacent to the new SAM Lanang Mall, and as we have a contract with that hotel, we have an excellent rate. The Park Inn is much larger, at about 200+ rooms, and it's got an attractive pool (with bar) and a much better location. However, for most casual travelers, it will also prove more expensive at about Php4, 000 per night.

The Seda hotel adjacent to Abreeza is now open, though I've not been inside. However, I'm going to stay at the Seda in CDO tonight for the first time, and will report back on the appropriate thread about the place. I believe the Davao Seda is roughly equivalent in price to the Marco Polo, though I've not checked the rates.

A couple of days ago, while driving back home on J. P Laurel, I noticed yet another new hotel under constructions. There are so many options here now that it's a bit difficult to keep track. Most of the new places though seem solidly entrenched in the 3-4 start category, and evidently no investors are particularly interested in constructing another 5 star hotel.

A few general observations from about 5 days roaming around.

Central location has been discussed here repeatedly. Say you don't think it's a huge issue so against advise, you take a place way up the hill. One evening you have your best husteling clothes on, ready to hit the town, but there's no taxis available because it's pouring. You're starving but even if you wanted Jolibee delivery, forget it because the roads are blocked. Or you've been plying your trade in Gaziana, you exit at closing time and there's a couple thousand people out front and the highway is a lake. There's no taxis or jeepneys. You think about Pizza Hut for dinner, but the oven is off, they're closing. Just walk down town, right? Good idea, but you will be wet up to your pockets. (This didn't happen to me, I'm just saying).

There are lots of pretty girls around and are just as shy as anywhere I've been, probably more. You have to just start talking, and allot of times they don't reply. Allot of them end up being friendly though, but you are not Paul McCartney. I rarely see any look back unless I'm sitting with my back turned so they don't think I'll see.

The girls are lighter skinned and I think the whole population in general is much lighter than Negros. This probably makes perfect sense to anyone who knows the history.

Abreeza, Gaziano, MCCC don't seem like great places to pick up girls unless you're looking for a serious GF. In that case, you may do very well. I haven't seen any slutty looking ones. You guys are smooth that know how to work them from wanting to marry you into wanting to shag for fun (donations). I can't wait to Polish (sorry, auto correct) my act on that one, I've had several on Negros that got a bit upset at the thought of being "that kind of girl"

There are slutty ones downtown around Central Bank and around San Pedro after dark. Some of questionable age, others not the cleanest looking. Around the same area, there are a few small clubs or massage places including Hot Legs. Anyone who wanted to could get laid.

Hot Legs (3, I think) looked OK. Kind of funny. They have a shower on stage where two chubby ones in bikinis soaped up and played around. They rotate dancing, always one at a time. At one point they played the hot legs song and they were all on stage. There were about 10 or 11 and a few of them had pretty nice bodies and many were cute. All very light skin. Lady Drinks are 300 and a good way to get your dick pinched. I don't see any need for nice pants there. Shorts and no underpants would be better. (mental note for next time).

Vehicles don't belch as much black smoke. Full face helmets and shoes for motorcycles are the norm and guys aren't pissing everywhere.

Minimum wage on Negros Island is around 160-200 a shift. Davao is around 300 from what I hear. Prices reflect that. All the food places I've visited are about 30% higher than what I'm used to paying. Oh ya, and Tiny Kitchen puts on a good chicken Lasagna.

95% of Filipinos are people who execute poorly on tired old, copied business paradigms.

5% execute moderately well. The nice thing about Davao is that this thin layer of adult-supervision, has retained control of the personna of the city.

The resident expats here are mostly totally brain dead. A few like, like Claude, have forced themselves to keep busy.

At the end of the day, this restaurant is: excellent execution of tired old, copied paradigms.

We ate last night, for the first time in much too long a time, at Henny's place, De Bonte Koe on Rizal St. The food was, in a word, perfect and my steak, the accompanying potatoe and veggies were cooked to perfection. The service was unobtrusive and excellent, ascwascthe Dutch apple pie I had for dessert. Henny sat with us for much of the night and we closed the place about 11 o'clock. I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation, the food and the general ambience, which is comfortable, intimate and relaxing.

I had been avoiding the restaurant not because of any dislike of anything about it but because I grew too frustrated with the congestion in that part of town and the difficulty of finding parking. Much to my surprise, I found that at least last night, this was not an issue as Rizal St. Was very calm and quiet. The nightspot Someplace Else, which I remember as packed and noisycwascsparsely populated and subdued, as were the once-popular bars up the street. GEWow, that's impressive! I've been to Davao (and other areas of the Philippines) about 12-13 times, and I have NEVER been able to find any decent beef anywhere, even at expensive places. It seems that they must use Australian beef or something, which has no flavor, as compared to the steaks I am used to here in Texas. Tasty chicken, pork, and seafood dishes are easy to find, but good beef I have never experienced there. I'll have to check out that place on my next trip.

Much (most) of the really good beef you will eat in the Philippines comes from Australia.

Most of the big 5-star hotels use Australian beef exclusively.

Henny serves, as far as I know, both American and Australian beef, and at the risk of ruining my credentials as an epicure, I can't say that I can taste the difference. His top shelf beef is, I believe, US Black Angus, which is the same beef I buy at Swiss Deli, and it's quite good. I think his Australian beef at least comes from Lisa's Meats, and, to my taste, it's also quite good. I guess I should have mentioned that my steak came with a Roquefort cheese sauce, and my asawa had beef in pepper sauce and both sauces were well prepared. Also, in keeping with my request, my steak was served rare, and so for my tastes it was perfectly cooked.

Lisa's mainline beef comes from their own ranch (of Aussie bloodline'd steers) in the GenSan area. The ground beef at their Rizal outlet is so lean that I never feel the urge to buy anything pricier. We went last night to a new place, originally designed-according to the man whose name it bears-as a "fine dining" Italian Restaurant. The opening has been delayed for months, due largely to a fight between the Italian chef and the majority owners, and though the restaurant still bears the chef's name, he is gone and rumored to be trying to open another restaurant somewhere in Davao.

Morisco's is located in SM Lanang, in the rear, and almost directly opposite the Park Inn. It's one in a line of 3-4 restaurants, and its large windows overlook the water fountains and the hourly fountain and light shows, which are quite well done.

The place sits about 40, though when the four of us arrived, we were the only ones there, and remained so throughout the 2. 5 hours that we ate, or perhaps I should day dined. The food was varied, excellent and beautifully plated. The menu, while not huge, was sufficiently varied to include a wide range of dishes. I had a wonderful Cabrese salad with fresh Bufalo mozzarella, followed by thinly pounded chicken breasts wrapped around fresh, seasoned spinach, and topped with a light cream sauce. Two in our party ordered pizzas from the wood-fired ovens, and one ordered a smoked roasted chicken, also prepared in the wood-burning oven. Everything was delicious, and I think that Morisco's now has the best pizza in town, an honor I had previously reserved for Spirale.

The wine list is restricted to wines from Italy and France, and again had enough of a selection to please almost any palate. We had a full bodied Italian red for about Php2, 000 the bottle and it was delicious. Our dessert consisted of a chocolate sponge cake concoction, and each round cake was filled with very rich chocolate syrup. It too was delicious, and of course we washed that all down with expresso and lovely grappa.

The total bill for the four of us was approximately Php3, 500 which, given the quantity and quality of the food, was extremely reasonable. One of the waitresses, who knew us from another restaurant in which she had worked, told us that local customers seem to be avoiding the restaurant, believing it to be "too expensive," when compared to the Filipino restaurant a few doors removed. Unless this place can begin to attract some business it may not survive for long, and I'd recommend, for those in town or coming soon not to delay going here. It's worth the price and worth the journey, and is surely the best Italian food I've ever had in Davao, and probably among the best I've had in the Philippines.

Anyone know what became of the gf of Al, deceased proprietor of Al's Diner on Bongoy around the corner from Jolibee Bolton? Two years ago, before I retired, I was a chef in my country (one of the world's most important countries in kitchen). I live more than a year in Philippines and is almost impossible to eat well here.

About beef, is very hard because they do not know how to use it, the beef should be cooked at least two weeks after killing her (best three weeks) for to be tender, another question is how to cut it here, it is very important. And finally how to cook. You never have to put salt on the beef before cooking, after or almost always when it is cooked and very hot skillet or griddle to heal well and that not and so the juices will be tender and juicy.

True, but here in Philippines have not found good cooks, in my house I cook and my guests are often surprised as I use Philippine products otherwise and are more delicious.

Here I cook a really good Paella I find all the ingredients, then. Why they can not make a paella.

The prawns are very good and fresh but they cook well done and lose their cualidades. Mi asawa had never eaten shrimp fried in garlic and now is addicted.

All people here encourage me to open a Spanish restaurant, maybe one day I will be decided but not an expensive restaurant because the price of the products is the same as cooking bad. If to eat in a Filipino restaurant is cheap. To cook the food in better way is nicer and same price. OR NOT? I don't understand why foreigner restaurant are very expensive.

I wish I read GE's review of the Italian Restaurant at Sm Lanang, as I love Italian food. I walked right past it to the Hog's Breath Cafe yesterday. Hog's Breath is an Australian Prime Rib House. Nicely decorated it reminded me of a high end sports bar in the USA. My prime rib (200 gram) was served with a baked potato and steamed broccoli and carrots, cost 1, 190 php. My wife loved the meat, which was tender and not over cooked. I thought it was "pretty good". I know the site of SM Lanang mall used to be a golf course, which might explain my golf ball sized baked potato. They offer a selection of Australian wines, but my expertise as a sommelier is limited. We will likely go back. Please note, there are two floors for restaurants at the rear of SM Lanang. I had been to the mall many times before I noticed them.

Here's an incident that just blew up in my face. It's probably unremarkable, but here goes.

I met a schoolgirl the other day near a university. Her friend was real sexy and flirting. I gave the "exchange phone number" signal and it worked. She said the sexy one don't have a phone. I said perfect, I'm here on a mission to help her kind. We get to texting and she says she has many friends like that (basically tuition girls) I'm elated. I finally got my fixer. Now just wait for the pussy to flow.

So she sends a couple girls, they text but both appear to be dead ends."What's your work, you have FB", all the usual. Then I say those bad words "we meet" and the whole thing stops. Finally after a few days the original one and the first dead end have me meet them at Mac Donnalds. I'm sitting there with two big white girls and two gay boys. Their attention span is as long as a tit hair, but I do manage to get a phone number. They took off for class after we spent ten minutes.

I then text the second dead end and she surprisingly shows up with 2 friends. One of those friends is kind of hot and a bit naughty looking (perfect). The other two were pleasant but below average in looks. One of those did all the talking for 5 minutes then stated they are hungry and requested lunch. It caught me by surprise, maybe I should have handed her 300 pesos for lunch, or offered before she had the chance to ask. That probably would have been the proper thing to do, I still don't know. I guess I hesitated long enough for them to leave. I thought this was the start of a long friendship, I was going to ask the hot one out and my friend would get a nice tip for the set up.

I now realize that right off, I should have at least offered a round of water or drink for each group since they were there trying to get me pussy, that was probably thoughtless on my part. But this is what came next: Texts from the first one:

"Ita funny. You didn't even ask to eat."
"joy told me. Udidnt give even water. Pity"

So I replied saying sorry, I should have got them drinks. But am I a scumbag cheap charlie? Should I have anticipated springing 800 pesos at McDo, would that be like tipping your bar tender 20 dollars on the first round? Or are these chicks obnoxious for asking and the kind I don't want? I'm a generous person. If someone tells me she has no load and calls from a friends phone, that's cool. Ill usually send a load. Last night I asked the doorman at my apartment why he wasn't drunk. He said no money. He suddenly had plenty to get drunk. I love giving, but it still seems irritating when they ask or expect it.

Let me get this straight, you invite some young uni girls to Micky D's in order to get get acquainted and hopefully later shag them and you don't offer them a coke? I don't know if you are cheap or asleep at the switch. Probably both. The first thing I would have done is offer the girls something to drink. Next time act like a player. Offer them something to drink and even to eat. There are no guarantees in this game, but see what happens. Ask yourself what Johnny Depp would have done in your place.

Haha. Ok, thanks for that. I can't get a hold of Johny Depp, so I knew this was the next best. I meant to say that I told the girl a few times that If she hooked me up, I would hook her up. She had me go there, and had nothing like we discussed. Seemed like she just tried to get the foreigner to buy her and her gay friends lunch. But ya, I realize I blew it on the offer especially with the second group. I should have offered right away before they had a chance to ask. Next time I will, and I will issue an apology and an invite to her. Your point is well taken, I got it. Thank you.

But there is plenty elsewhere. Always pays to be nice. Yes is it an annoyance when 4 turn up suddenly and expect coke and McDo (it has happened to me) but go with the flow and focus on the one (s) you want ignore the gay boys of course LOL.

Be thankful it was McDo or equivalent not some other more expensive fast food place. I once had 9 suddenly appear at TGIFs, now that was a masterclass IMHO of how to get out of the dodo and not spend thousands of pesos.

Well, I've since seen my friend, slipped her a gift for her effort, she's happy and already hooked me up with a small brown one that I met this afternoon. And my suspicions about the one that sent the text were right. She's even got some sucker in New York City sending money while she's out hustling around.

Anyhow, I don't add many posts about the sex I get here, primarily because it's not all that remarkable yet. To me it's a very conservative place, but I'm starting to crack the code. I feel it's more useful to write about the mistakes. And that's not because I dig a public flogging, it's to help others straighten out the learning curve. And more importantly an attempt to learn, and teach others to make sure we leave a good impression on the locals we meet. Try to be sure that whenever you meet someone, it is a good experience for them, no matter who it is. Even if it's the lady at the laundry place that burned holes in half your white clothes. NB says there's no guarantees here. That's right. Getting phone numbers may be like shooting fish in a barrel sometimes. But especially if you are targeting young pretty ones, you're unlikely to get even a peck on the cheek. They love having friends, loads, and text mates they can remind to take their lunch. So if you choose do that, be ready. And even though you may be pissed because your chatting to a block wall, and you're not getting that hot pussy, always be nice. That way she won't think bad of you, and she'll be open to trying again. The next one of us may nail her.

So far (5 times) I have flown Delta through Nagoya Japan, I like this flight as you do not change planes. My only problem is the Manila departure time 6:25 am, and arrival time in Manila around midnight does not allow me to go to or come from Davao without a night in Manila. The layover is not long enough to have much fun, I know I could stay longer but my wife is no fool. My destination is Detroit. Can anyone recommend any other airlines / flights with later departures, earlier arrivals? Is impossible to avoid a layover in Manila. I am using my return 1/2 of my roundtrip ticket to fly back to the USA, but need to buy a new roundtrip to return to the Philippines. Note: while recently checking rates, I can fly from Philadelphia to Detroit taking the same flight through Nagoya for less than if I start my trip in Detroit.

The United flight is cheaper and takes less time, plus it arrives earlier. So check out United: Detroit-Chicago-MNL and see if it works for you.

Just tell me the date you want to go and I will tell you all flight schedules Davao-Manila and Manila-Detroit.

I was standing around in front of my home yesterday when one of my neighbors called me over. (I live in a nice gated subdivision, but most of my friends are the squatters.). My friend invited me to drink some beer and enjoy some duck they had killed and cooked. It turned out that they were celebrating the 40th birthday of one of my neighbors. They told me of their adventures in a bar in Buhangan the night before, after considerable coaxing and once my wife approved I agreed to join them in that evenings carousing.

We head out on np JP Laurel, planning to turn up Mamay Road to Buhangan, traffic was at a standstill, so we cut through the. Executive Homes subdivision, thinking traffic on Castillo would be better. No such luck, so a new plan was called for. We turned around and drove up to Sasa (about 3km).

Once in Sasa we pulled up in front of a run down road side eatery. We walked through the front to the back where they had a videoke machine and several sofas. Out came the girls, no dogs, a few chubby and at least 3 very nice. My cohorts seemed determined to get me laid (I had no plans for that, too many witnesses who know my wife, and all of them "chismosa".)

I found myself with a slim / sexy 19 year old beauty on my lap. She had on a tight fitting short dress, which she raised while dancing to expose some shorts. Hence my new acronym 2p2psp (too poor to purchase sexy panties) she was pretty, sexy, slim and claimed to have no kids. Some other girls had come in by this time who would also make any man happy. I think you can screw in the bar for 500 php, I wil get some more details if anyone is interested. Anyway like a John Grisham novel my story comes to an abrupt and unsatisfying end, except my wife did not give me a hard time when I staggered in.

(copied from the general info thread) yes, it does seem to take an inordinate amount of time for planes to land or leave davao airspace. taking off they do a big circle or two before heading for a destination. is this to clear mt apo's 10, 000 feet?

and i see the a320 that crash landed at davao two months ago parked on a side apron. spare parts now?

If you can afford, try staying in Marco Polo. Also there is another hotel promoted by Cebu Pacific Air and it is about 400-500 yards away from Marco Polo. It is right by Apo Hotel-Casino. I have been inside and very nice rooms for a budget traveler. I took the advice of the people on this board and stayed at Marco Polo and it was a great experience. I also had a chance to spank a Medical School student from San Diego, CA. She was hot and it is cool to spank an Pinay-American in Phils.

Evidently the Mayor is angry with the lax security at both malls. The local newscaster explained in a broadcast this evening that neither Gaisano nor SM Ecoland have CCTV cameras, while the newer Abreeza and SM Lanang malls have them.

I imagine that the two bombs were related, at least in the minds of the morons who set them off, to the much anger armed hostilities further west.

Point taken. Nevertheless, I've been traveling to the Philippines for 30+ years and have been here on ISG for over five years and there are only three hotels that have ever been listed as NOT gal friendly. There is that place in Dumaguete which is probably the most important one to list. Sorry if I don't remember the name.

There is one pension in Malate, MM (Malate Pension?) , that seems to have issues. And there was one other place which seemed to be a rogue guard looking for a tip issue rather than any kind of policy.

This is the Davao thread and I haven't been there in a few years, but I still doubt that there are issues. So, I'm going to once again suggest that any hotel reviews be a bit more comprehensive. And if you go back a week or two on MNL hotel, you'l find a review that includes much more that one might expect. LOL X.

Well, I just did several days in Davao. A Korean lady (44) took me, so this report will certainly not be informative to those who are looking for bars and nightclubs to visit; basically it'll follow the trend of hotels and restaurant FR's + golf- if it ain't your thing move on.

Stayed at the Marco Polo in one of the 4th floor cabana rooms. Had some water problems that the engineers couldn't solve so was upgraded to room 401, which is a honeymoon suite. It's an outstanding hotel and well worth the pesos, a whole lot of them; no request went unmet.

I golfed at the Apo Golf & Country Club and the Palos Verdes Golf Course. The Apo is a quite run down and is a flat course it wasn't too challenging. Green fee is p1800, caddy is p300, and cart is p800. About a 25-minute drive from the Marco Polo. Palos Verdes is p1700, p350, and p850 respectively, but my lady friend found a Korean grocer that sells green-fee vouchers for p1000. (Arirang Market, across the parking lot from Victoria Plaza.) From Marco Polo it's about a 50-minute drive. Palos Verdes is a newer course than Apo, the club house isn't as run down, and the course is hilly and more challenging than Apo. Those of you who haven't experienced the passion / mania Koreans have for golf ought to know that it's a minimum of 36 holes a day, and if they can squeeze in 9 or18 more they'll do so. It's a long day, which can also be a good thing.

The third day I begged off golfing again by claiming I was too achy and tired and just wanted a day to lounge by the pool. Put her in a cab at 9 am and an okcupid girl showed up at 1030. She contacted me before my departure and I knew she'd be a highlight of my trip. A tall, lean, dusky 22-year-old Pinay. In our messaging she claimed to work at a call centre, and in our conversations she seemed the real deal. We discussed and she agreed to vaginal and anal, but no CIM. She was wowed by the room, massive king-sized bed, and the "fuck niche" beside it. She stayed until 3pm and I gifted her p2000, which is not my norm but it seems Skogis's guilt is infectious. Bastard. Where do I send you the bill, Skogis? Anyway, since I knew I wouldn't see her again. Ever. Oh well.

Dining. The first night we dined at Af Fat Chinese, which is in the same parking area as Arirang grocer. We stumbled upon it, saw it quite full, and knew it would be good. The dimsum was disappointing, but everything else was excellent. Morisco's Italian Restaurant, which was recommended here, we visited on the second night. So so, but it may be the best Italian place in Davao. I just don't know. Spent approx p1800. A very generous pour of a very good house claret, but I wouldn't return if there are other Italian options. The seafood pasta was mediocre, and the ragu was slightly better. The third night we dined at Bon Appetit! La Boutique. Outstanding! The only let down was the homemade vanilla ice cream which had ice crystals in it. The bill came in at p5500, of which p2000 was for wine, a 1999 vintage Medoc. Finished our stay with the all-you-can-eat crab at Glamour Crab Resto N Caterer. Succulent crabs cooked in a very light curried coconut milk sauce. It's a buffet, and there are other dishes, but the crab is what the place is renown for. No alcohol. P900. Only Morisco's was a bit a drive from the Marco Polo.

Near the Marco Polo is a Long Legs or Hot Legs bar, which previous reports mention. Also the Philipiine Central Bank is a 10-minute walk away, Both places have been mentioned in previous field reports, and I just didn't have the opportunity.

All in all, I quite liked Davao, but it seems to me if you visit you'll want to work the dating sites before your arrival.

I guess I am at a loss as to why you would want to pay someone who, in your words, is only "average looking" to come with you to Davao. You are paying her airfare, meals, entertainment, etc, and what do you get? Davao is filled with gorgeous ladies willing to spend time with you.

However, assuming there is some other reason you want this ho-hum woman to stay with you the whole time, there is still no real way to estimate how much you should pay her without additional information. First, how "average" is she? Is she a PFP girl, or someone with expectation of marriage or relationship? What nonmonetary benefits (e. G. Gifts, shopping, etc.) will she accrue by being with you? It all goes into the mix.

SNIP Always get guys trying to impress other with their comments.RG is correct. Give us more information to go on. Where is the average girl from (this is important as to her expectations)? Is she P4P? Wealthy? Chatmate? Bargirl? Many 'regular' girls would be happy with the flight, aircon hotel room, restaurant food, and a 2-3k. Some wouldn't care about the money at all if your company was good. Others would be offended if you offered less than 6-7k. Deets are important here.

first, my compliments to wc and especially rg who have reacted patiently and politely to someone who is just a tad rude.

it's always been a pet peeve of mine to ask for "the details" so that i could answer succinctly, rather than try to cover all the variables. wc mentions only a few of the variables, btw. i've often received bad reactions from this."why do you want to know my personal information?" lol.

let's look at some other variable from the lala side.

1) if he's traveling to davao, he must know his way around the philippines. why is he asking this kind of question?

2) he also refers to this place as a "website", why is that. isg is a massive web site with numerous country listings and numerous threads within the country categories. do any of us think of the davao thread as a "website"?

3) and why is the question only about p4p. isn't that illegal? oops. oh, wait, he might be us military on are&are. got to keep that secret!

lala, just give us a vague description of things and you might be surprised. i'm holding my breath.

You have 14 FRs and many question one (26th Mrch) saying you can't afford a PM facility. As many to the Philippines forum have found out, giving is very important, more so than taking especially when a newbie. So there are plenty of FRs on this site about the question you asked, and sometime RTFF yileds amazing result.

Hey all,

This is my first post and figured since I'm somewhat based in Davao this is the perfect spot to start (will post on DS Davao forum at some point I'm sure). I've been reading these fantastic and amusing forums for about 3 years now. Not new to partaking in the hobby but I'm fairly young 32, and I'm sure there is much more knowledge to be gained. I've been with all extremes of girls here, from the rich freebie party girls in Makati and Global, pros, semi, and province girls. All have been a mixture of P4P and freebies.

The most recent while here in Davao was a freebie 9.0 rated 22 why / o 4'9" 47kg saleslady from SM Lanang, best guess 38C beautiful perky nipples and tits, too big for my hands, small 26 something waste and proportionate tight big ass, amazed at her ass (yes I'm an Assman). I talked to this girl for 10 minutes about face and body lotions, moved on to places to hangout on Saturday night, handed her my phone so she could put her number in, she obliged by quickly inputting the digits, saved her number and told her we should hangout after she gets off work. I have a rental car and told her I'd pick her up, she said "Yes I want Sir, it's ok to you to get me at 645pm?", I responded with "Pag sure oi?", she giggled and confirmed the hot date.

Ok so I pick her up and we head off to Matina Town Square, somewhat busy, girls everywhere. My girl noticed too with a comment of "lots of guapa girls here tonight", I said "Jesus you're right lets invite 2 girls to our table" with a grin on my face, joke lang, she smiled but I can read this girl already, super selosa (jealous). So I chilled with the girl comments and told her "those girls might be guapa but you're still the hottest, and I can tell your sooooo sweet. After 1 hour of listening to the live band and scoping all these girls out, while drinking San Mig Light bucket, rum / coke, rum / iced tea, dmg 350P, we bill out, walk back over to NCCC (parked my car there) with my girl firmly grasping my arm and her giant tits bouncing with all their glory.

Dammit my gf, yes I have a live-in solid 9. 5 rated 26 why / o 4'10" 43kg buntis (preggie) with my future twins from Davao, but we live in Global, anyway will finish this report soon I promise.

GoodEnough

I agree with WR. I was tempted to respond, given that there are several places available within or near the city center that would meet this guy's price criterion. However, this topic has been discussed widely and often and thus the information is readily available.

After living in Davao for almost a year I decided to try out this infamous Massage Parlor. It appears that little has changed from prior reports. The Fishbowl concept is no longer in place, as I entered about six girls were seated on either side of the front door. I was surprised as all were young thin and reasonably attractive. As I perused the merchandise they hyped a two girl special for 600 php, I stuck with one for 400 php.

After I selected the girl, a 22 year old from TBoli we walked back to the room. Ratty if compared to a hotel but not bad for a massage parlor. My selection told me to undress and I asked her to do likewise. She then asked for 2, 000 php for a blow job. 4.000 for full service. I said no way. 2,000 for full service, she dropped to 3, 000 and stayed there, but she left the money on the bed, so I snatched it up and said bye. She immediately dropped to 2, 000 for full service. (Still high by cost of living standards).

She gave me a decent shower and washed herself.

She provided a nice BJ with condum, ball lick and condum fuck, all provided in a pleasant professional manner. I have had better and I have had worse. She was pretty, smelled nice and had a nice smile, no tooth decay, but a few too many teeth. I did not check out the other bars located adjacent, but will return one day to do so.

In summary' I have a wife and do not want complications. Plaza Roman provides a NSA p4p option for those of you in a similar situation.

sales clerks are generally good looking and easy to meet because they're friendly and they're sitting targets. my odds however of actually nailing them haven't been all that impressive in the past. probably because i pick on the youngest and prettiest hence it usually goes something like this: sweet talk girl, give girl number, she probably texts. but my high hopes quickly go into a tail spin as the conversations tend to go like this: "how old are you, what's our work, you have a family, you have a fb, happy lunch", and so on. then when i ask to meet again, if there's any reply at all, it's usually "i'm bzy, if i have a tym." then i reply ok, i'll be patiently waiting, i give it another shot or two, and their number rotates off to the dead list.

but i'm evidently getting better at picking them because my odds have dramatically improved, with the last one going off almost text book perfect.

i grabbed an item in the department store, approached the counter and complimented the 3 of them on their looks. one asked who's with me, i replied i was single. the closest one to me jerked back a bit and acted startled. she just happened to be the prettiest so i looked over the counter and i could see she was a bit plump. but that didn't matter because she was young, dark brown, and interested. i asked her if she had any vacant time and she said ya, tomorrow. the other one asked me if i wanted her number, and i said definitely.

the next day she showed up early for our date and i took her for a nice lunch. like it usually goes she ordered a mango shake and only finished half her meal because it wasn't to her taste. i wasn't surprised or bothered by that, but she wasn't very talkative in the restaurant, and didn't respond well to gestures like touching her hand and arm. so as she was looking over the desert menu. i was looking at her little belly, thinking about how to dump her off and who else i could call on that day.

i figured i'd give it a last shot so i whispered i'd like to kiss her. she said ok, but not there. the moment i sat her on the side of my workbench i started kissing her neck. she went nuts, started moaning and groaning and squirming, started rubbing my chest and taking off my shirt. i finished doing that as she popped loose her belt, peeled down her pants and threw them on the floor. we didn't even bother to rinse off. she grabbed the dick, lifted up her leg to a soaked pussy, reached around and gave my ass a tug. she kept trying to get on top and she was grinding and humping on that thing like she was in a rodeo. the funny thing is those couple extra kilos on her ass actual worked to my advantage. because when i got her on her back, the cushion gave her more leverage to shove upwards. on my back up stroke she would thrust that thing up, squeeze the pussy then pull back rapid fire. she kept that going till well after i busted my balls, kissing and moaning the whole time. somewhere in the middle of all that there was a shower break and the pussy looked and smelled good enough to eat so that ended up in a nice 69. i was shocked, this young lady is only 18, but active as a 30 year old in heat.

in the end i knew her boarding house was due and her salary was a ways off still and i wanted to help. so i happily slipped her a gift of which she was extremely appreciative.

i dropped her off, blew her a kiss and haven't heard from her since except for a text that said thank you sweetheart, i miss you.

i now realize that her initial reaction when we met was her brain clicking into gear. she knew from that moment on exactly what she was going to do to me. my vulnerability was taken advantage of and i was manipulated to get what she wanted. and i'm so grateful it was me she chose to be her victim.

I have never been to Davao and never had a woman for more than a short time. But I may take a woman in Davao for two days and two nights. I have no idea what to pay her. I hope someone can give me a general idea. She is average looking. She would be with me the entire time in Davao.

Thanks very much.Give her one or two thousand peso bills when you kiss her farewell. That is humane.

But as RG wrote, you are bringing cake to the party.

BReward her for her true value to you for the few days she is with you. I don't see how anyone can set the value for you. Yes, you will have to calculate value into $$$ to her, but no one else can do it for you or even tell you how much it is worth.

I don't ever pay any attention to what someone else tells me what I should pay for something. I pay for the value that I perceived that I received or about to receive. Does not mean I am not a wise shopper. Disregard any price chart or "comparables" anyone tries to place on your experience. After all it is your own experience! What is it worth to you?

What is it worth to you? That's one way to look at it. OTOH, you wouldn't give a hottie cebuana the same amount you give a hottie Los Angeles college student (or pole dancer) , even though they both provide a wonderful experience. That just leads to spoiling the cebu market (and an uptick in local prices). The LA girl will be happy with p15k ($300USD) , while the cebuana college girl will be giddy with p1500. A better question than: What's it worth to you? Becomes: What's it worth to her?

Each girl is different. P1500 usually works with Manila girls for short time. 1000 usually is fine with Cebu city girls. Girls in the provinces are usually giddy with 1000 for overnight. However, sometimes a girl has oddly higher expectations. On occasion I chat a province girl who will say she wants 5k; 7k; or even 10k overnight. Usually these are girls who have never done this kind of thing, have no idea what to ask, and think all foreigners are rich (and dumb enough to pay more). Telling her that she's way out of line will result in one of two things: 1) She tells you to [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) off and never speaks to you again (rare) ; or 2) She comes right back in line and 1k or 1500 is fine for her.

For me, its easy to find another fish in the sea if she chooses option #1, but for the original poster, he is expecting to be with just one girl, and: each girl is different. Maybe you should gently broach the subject with her.

Lala has still declined to give us the details we asked for previously.

LA girl and a Cebuana are 2 different experiences and market place. My experiences with Philly girls are much better than else where including BKK. I reward accordingly for my Philly experiences that can not be duplicated anywhere else. I seriously doubt anyone can distort the market place. The Hunt brothers tried to control the silver market and they tried with Billion$! My pesos aren't going to do dick to the market place other than to enhance someone's life for a day or two.

Lala,

You have 14 FRs and many question one (26th Mrch) saying you can't afford a PM facility. As many to the Philippines forum have found out, giving is very important, more so than taking especially when a newbie. So there are plenty of FRs on this site about the question you asked, and sometime RTFF yileds amazing result.

Shortly after dark Sunday I was at People's Park. The male line to get in was very short and the female line was long because there were way more females than males, also getting them through took longer because of the purse check. Standing in line was fun because it was lit up and a good place to assess the talent and also a good place to get a few words in because they couldn't move.

Anyway, I stood inside the park for a little while watching them come in. What made me laugh were the several short skirts coming through the male line and the expressions on their faces as they were being patted down.

The ones that were clearly gay males had this kinda embarrassed / busted look on their faces, the ones that were hard to tell just acted normal, and the two that were clearly sexy Pinays looked really pissed off at either the hassle of it all, or the fact that they were being felt up by a guy with a smile on his face.

Is People's Park a good place to find hotties to bring to the hotel?

RGNo, not really. They're mostly too young and I've never seen any obvious players. Good place to get in a photo op though. If you sit there long enough a group of them may sit down next to you and snap a few. Same with Magsaysay Park. Mostly students hanging around on break. I did nail one I met in Peoples, but it took a long time. I met the two below one day but I forgot about them until just now.

I don't go to clubs often because I can't stand loud shitty music (but MTS has pretty good bands sometimes) , and I don't partake in the street girls at the places like Central Bank and San Pedro. And I don't bar fine at Hot Legs or others, so I don't even know of any good quick strike places.

The only ladies I've banged here are ones I met either in stores, walking the streets like San Pedro shopping area, poor neighborhoods and squats, friend hook ups, unemployment office, online, mystery texts, and that kind of thing. But all those took a little work. I got a great pimpess that comes up with some hot stuff right out of the village, or students sometimes but she's been on strike lately. I don't do all that great here really. I get steady trim, but not a whole lot of the dark top shelf stuff I left all the comforts of my home for. I may not be in the same Davao I've heard talked about. To me it's a conservative place and the real "hotties" are hard to get. I see it all the time, but getting my paws on it is another story. They're really shy for the most. It's easy to get allot of text mates, but 95% of the time that's what they are. So in the end I'm left with consolation prizes. But at least they usually smell good.

I spent the Holidays in my wife's village in South Cotabato. No running water, tv or internet. It is amazing to see the poverty. The men all drink and the women go to church. Reminds me of the coal regions in Pennsylvania. I was taken aback how excitedly all greeted happy new year at midnight on the 31st. I kept thinking to my self why is everyone so excited. I think I figured it out. Though they were saying " Happy 2014" what they meant was "Happy 2013 is over".

I have been getting along very well with my wife. The other day while watching the news they showed the crowds around the Black Nazareno. (Some Catholic bull shit). I made a negative comment.

A few days later our 2 month old daughter had to be hospitalized. In the emergency room my wife pulled me to the side and demanded that I apologize to said Black Nazareno.

I had been lulled into a comfort zone, but that made me realize that on the surface things are great, but dig a little and you will find beliefs that are quite different.

By the way, my daughter has recovered and is home. A relief for me, as if the doctors were unsuccessful my wife's plan was to take her to some old guy who cures people by blowing smoke on their head.

Thank you for letting me know the more common spelling of winge / whinge. The online dictionary below seems to indicate that winge / whinge is also a noun.

Winge (w&618; nd&658.

(Austral) a variant spelling of whinge

Oxford online doesn't list the "winge" spelling, but they have some great sample sentences. Here is one for "whinge" in noun form: 'Basically, it is the old whinge, whine, grizzle, and groan. ' CS, I like your sample sentence also. X.

Yesterday was my birthday. Number 60, what a bummer. My wife and and I went to Hagars on JP Laurel for a few beers, we ran into an Englishman and his gf from our neighborhood. We ended up going to Hot Legs, I do not remember which one, Pimpin Sam was kind enough to meet us there. It was a dark dive with low ceilings. About 12 dancers took turns in various dances on stage. Some of the girls got completely naked for each dance. There were a few real cuties with slim and sexy bodies, even the older gals had nice bodies though the expressions on their faces looked burned out on the Hot Legs scene. I had no one bug me for a ladies drink, push a VIP room etc. I tipped one dancer 100 php, beautiful face, slim and sexy body with nice tits. I saw no one else tip anyone. My wife is pretty open minded, and today only occasionally chides me about my "falling in love" last night.

My recommendation to all mongers, if going to a dark strip bar. Take your wife. I drank and did not have to worry about the bill or communication problems with the waiter. My wife does not drink as she is nursing our bby and hangs onto a peso like a Scotsman.Sounds like you were at Hotlegs II, and from your description of the place, it hasn't changed much in the ten years that I've been here; dark, dank, seedy and dirty. I've been there with my wife as well, since after we had been together for a while, she expressed a desire to see it. She liked it better than I did. I can remember though doing a take-out or two from the bar many years ago.

I haven't been to Davao for a couple of years now. As mentioned here by several members, Cebu it is not. In the past it has paid dividends to cultivate chat mates from Samal Island and Tagum City. Close proximity to Davao, but far enough away to make a visit at least an outing, if not an adventure, for these more conservative girls. I found that once beyond the 'witching hour' of easy return to home, chances of a nice relaxed GFE were virtually assured. Others who aren't into the bar scene, nor street girls, may care to share their experience and observations.

I don't know how many times I've been asked to "borrow" money. It's usually either three or five thousand, and it's usually not for themselves. Mother in hospital, cousin needs dialysis, etc. Or sometimes it's the cutie we had allot of fun together, but she's in GenSan now and she love me so much. Just 3k and we can make a big love.

This is about a dark 18 year old I met a long time ago. About 42 kg, great ass, innocent shy type, above average looks. She was on a pittance salary. Woke before sunrise, worked till late and walked 45 minutes each way cause the jeep wasn't affordable. I offered to take her home and tried at her a bunch of times, but either she wasn't interested enough or just too shy. Obviously never had any experience with a foreigner.

Months later I get the text from a new number "hai can we have a favor". I sit down with three of them in a little restaurant. The story is they lost their jobs and two of them are staying at the third one's place. But that's over cause her brother is back. And neither have a family worth a shit to turn to. The familiar story, father ran off now mother shacked up with bf. They need 1, 500 for a boarding house and 500 for rice and "food."

I explain I don't have money available to borrow out, if I give it's as a gift. That my budget is split into three parts. One for my bills and one for my daily expenses that I can't exceed. But there's a separate envelope marked "special girl". Special meaning not necessarily gf, but we really like each other. That she would want to be with me romantically anyway, and the gift is just because I like her. Then I asked is she wanted to move into that special girl category. (That's the best I got. It sounds more sympathetic than "the money's in my nightstand") I'd be glad if any advanced members would care to share terminology for the more delicate type)

So she was in, but I already bad other plans. So I put it off a couple days. But it's getting dark and I'm looking at these puppy dog eyes. If they're not lying through their teeth, they got nowhere to sleep and only a snack in their cute little bellies. So I brought her with me and the others met at my place in a while. I got her on the bed with our clothes mostly on and it seemed pretty good. Although she was pretty nervous, obviously in some uncharted waters. So I said I'm going to help you out, and I don't expect anything in return. I just hope you'll come back in a couple days like you say. She thanked me and left. Actually, I did expect something. I thought I'd at least get a few texts and maybe some bs excuse. So I loaded 20 pesos to her phone just to cover that angle.

Not a single text clear up to the time we were supposed to meet. And calling the phone goes to unattended. I only tried that a couple times because I already accepted being a sucker. 2k in a whole year aint too bad, allot of dumb shits do it repeatedly.

But then I got a text from a new number. The phone they used the other day was borrowed. "Were coming just wait for awhile". She showed up, but with her friend and after "a while". Said she stopped and caught mass. Presumably to ask the Good Lord to forgiver her for what she was about to do. They were nervous, but I tried to make them feel comfortable and reassured them they don't owe me anything and no one is under any pressure. So her friend took a hike.

Man, she looked so nice, perfect body, dark chocolate brown and gorgeous medium / small tits that she kept trying cover cause she's so shy. A bit hairy too which I don't mind a bit. No fotos allowed that would be of any interest to this forum.

So in the end it gives me allot of faith in the honesty and generosity of many a Pinays. She pulled through even though it wasn't easy. Also it made me feel really good to keep a couple of lovely young ladies off the street. And it made me feel really really good to be deep into such a tight tasty morsel. And I've had the chance to be of more assistance ever since. It's more fun in the Philippines.

I should just ad to that last report that I find the young (18-19) yo Davaoenyas extremely shy and hard to get. And those are mostly the ones I like to pick on. Because in the end, if I do get that sweet pussy wrapped all around my chin it was worth it, and they come back. This is the kind of text I'm used to: "hi Sam. Nice meeting you. U kn0w what I'm really getng fun of havng a c0nversati0n 2 a new frnds like you" Many of them have never had a conversation with a foreigner. So when I finally get that text I been waiting for (money request) I try to handle it delicately as to not offend them, like happens sometimes. I try not to come off as the average sex tourist and she's my next trick. That way I figure they won't be turned off to the idea of "friending" Foreigners. So when I'm gone, next time she's in a pinch she'll be open to the next one of us "nice guys"

Yes, I found nothing but massage parlors there and a mall. And the one MP I thought would be accommodating was not. So I had to backup to DIA. There were plenty of willing partners to stay overnite or go shopping and back to the room in the afternoon. (East Asia Royale, there has got to be better).

One thing I liked was the more innocent aura of the girls I met there, as opposed to many of the Manila, Cebu, and AC.

I'm sure Davao has some of that too. Good luck.

this 18 yo came to my apartment today. a bit chubby, but pretty hot never the less and a great shag. she rarely gets a free day from work but when she does, she likes to come to me. she especially likes riding on top and won't stop until "she's done". this day i decided to eat pussy. so i was down there grubbing hard and she was really getting into it. she had one foot on my back and the other one preforming fj. i was trying to peel back that thing that covers the clit but she was bucking so hard my hand kept slipping off.

anyway, i'm hearing this cell phone racket, i look up and she's got her damn phone up to her face. so i went up and grabbed it out of her hands. but then i noticed she had a porn flick going. haha. that's cute sweetheart. sorry, i'll go back to work.

Just to let you know, there is no more freelance action here. I played it all out tonight.

The fucking "Money Down" bullshit was wearing thin. We should never do such a thing. I tried tonight to get some, and was cursed by that bullshit at every turn. Even after they agreed to not do "Money Down" they started insisting on it at the motel. I kicked them out. 2X. Had the cops come the second time, and I welcomed it. They tried to trap me and I played it right. I wanted the girl to be arrested for not leaving my room when I asked. Trespassing, and such.

Bottom line: Do not get freelancers from San Pedro or Central Bank anymore. They will call the cops on you if you don't do what they want. (I am strong, I don't give a fuck if they do. But you may not be so inclined!).

Thought I would clarify, as I wrote that last night in the heat of the moment.

I negotiated on the street with the first girl and her gay pimp. Their "money down" demands were greeted with a hearty "no fucking way." "Ever." We agreed on a price and the services before she got in my taxi. (Not my first rodeo.) Stopped at a Central Convenience store and I bought her some snacks, drinks, and myself a beer. Went to one of the nicer short-time hotels (sorry don't remember details) , got a room, and she sat around preening herself in the mirror. I repeatedly indicated it was time to get down to business and she prevaricated again and again. She started with the money down BS again and I gave her one chance to stop. She did not. She had not removed one strip of clothing, had not touched me at all, and was not even very friendly. I told her to GTFO. She refused. I called the front and requested security. They came and made her leave. She was trying to get money from me for transportation back, and I said NOPE. I rode past her sitting on the street, texting, as I went back to try again.

Went to Central Bank. As I rode through the section on the left side some working girl shouted at me that I didn't pay. I had the taxi stop and got out. I remembered the girl. She gave up after about 15 minutes of sex and wanted to quit. We had negotiated 3 hours ST with "one pop." No pop, no pay. At the time of the incident I told her all of this, and she didn't care, wanted full payment for a job hardly started, no where near done. I told her to GTFO. So I got out (last night) and they ran away. I walked up to her and confronted her accusations. Told her she did not do her job, so she did not get paid. I will not let them talk shit like that.

Went around the corner and saw one. Stopped and negotiated. She agreed to the terms and we went to another hotel. Same as before she did not remove ANY clothing or touch me AT ALL and started in with the "MONEY DOWN" BS. I said nope, I will pay after. She would not stop so I said GTFO. She refused. No phone to call front desk, so I went out there and said I wanted her to leave. She threatened to call the cops. I said Go Ahead! There was no security and the front desk seemed to not want to be involved. I repeatedly told her to get out of my room, she would not. She called the cops and stood there in my room. I just kept saying get out, and filmed her refusing to leave my room.

Cops showed up. The first cop tried to trap me by asking me if I had brought the girl to the room. I said she came to the room with me. He then asked me WHY did I bring her to the room. I paused, and replied "to have fun." Had to choose words carefully so as not to admit doing anything illegal. I did so, they could not accuse me of anything, but the first cop still tried to make me pay her some money. I refused again and again. I was not intimidated at all. When it got tiresome I started in with the fact that I wanted her arrested for refusing to leave my room, which I had paid for, and she was trespassing. The first cop got frustrated and left, telling the girl to forget about it. The second cop apologized to me and wished me a good evening.

My approach may not be yours. You might have a bleeding heart for street working girls. I feel they are there to do a job, period. If they do it well with a good attitude then I am generous. I have bought girls phones, food, drinks, and even paid them without any service in the past. But it all comes down to attitude for me.

I have been to Thailand, Cambodia, Manila, and lots of places in between so I am not a novice. I live with my GF and she knows all about it. We usually get girls together. (She was out of town last night, but she has read this post!) She is from this area and she agrees that they are idiots. Her words: "Who do they think they are? They are hookers! And not even very pretty to be so bitchy!" We are looking into moving to Cebu, not just because of this. Davao sucks. One or two good places to eat PERIOD. No bars, no entertainment, the mayor is straight out of a mafia handbook, it is dirty, run down, and infrastructure? It is a joke here. The number of abandoned buildings ALL OVER THE CITY shows how anti-business this place is. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. It is not worth the price of admission.

cops showed up. the first cop tried to trap me by asking me if i had brought the girl to the room. the mayor is straight out of a mafia handbook, well maybe your dick is bigger than dragon slayers and after 15 minutes of getting pounded, she decided she bit off a little more than she could chew?

ya, the mayor is "strict". there is a city wide ban on smoking, a 30 kph speed limit, and those obnoxious after marked pipes on motorcycles are prohibited. he don't tolerate the extremist goons, drug dealers, ****s, and he's not particularity fond of sex tourists either. i'm quite sure anyone that spends much time hustling here is being watched as well all those fl places and this site. his people are all over the city and you don't see them. that's why it's considered the safest city. ya, i got a different approach. i wouldn't want the police at my door, she could have screamed [CodeWord123] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord123) and maybe the cops would have sided with her. i happened to be in the area one day so i paid a visit to the ma-a prison. i was concerned about what i heard, that they are looking at the age gap thing discussed here. those guards told me they got foreigners locked up in sites around the city. if you and your lawyer don't pay your way out of the barangay jail, you're committed. they recommended not fucking with anyone you don't intend to marry, and vet the hell out of her. that's just what they told me, so that shows the way of thinking around there.

i agree, davao is a poor "mongering" destination. i don't know why anyone would come here for fast sex unless you're working the sites or dig gay boys. the one and only time i picked one up from san pedro, i did it because she was smoking hot. 19, 40 kg, brown, perfect little tits, beautiful mug. she was the worst shag i've had in years. i saw her again another time and she approached me all loving like. i reminded her how she fucks like a pillow. but this time she likes me and it's going to be romantic. we made a date for the next day, and we even talked about the possibility of me keeping her off the street, where i belong. well the next day same thing, i couldn't even get a nice kiss out of her. so before we even got undressed i sent her home in a jeep. she texted me later and said we're all the same, dirty old men and all we want is romance. haha! tried to treat her like a lady but she'd rather be treated like a hooker. fine, that was my fault and i'll never try that again. that was just my experience, i'm sure there's nice ones there too but the mentality seemed to be get your one or two tricks done asap, go home and eat. they know we'll be gone soon anyway.

davao is good if you have the time to cultivate and enjoy it. they're all over, but it's not point-n-dick. it's the kind of place where you may find 2 hotties at a dead end dirt road. if you're in a serious pinch, i'd recommend the little hole-in-the-wall masshag joints. or even hot legs 2 had some good looking talent last time we were there. (the one on sp where you have to duck the beams)

anyway, thanks for the report.

Thanks for the replies, seems that you two agree with me for the most part. My main point being:

Do not use the FL girls at Central Bank, left side (especially) , and avoid them at all costs if you can (FL girls) in Davao.

If you must, then negotiate up front clearly, do NOT pay "money down," and kick them the fuck out at the first hint of trouble. They will call the cops on you, even if they did not provide any services.

I did go to Hot Legs on SP (actually the same night I wrote about in previous post). If you are feeling adventurous ask a girl to show you the smoking area where they have a little zoo with multiple large rats just outside a gated door amongst the trash. Was a young boy sleeping there, just inside that door, the night I was there. Wow. (I don't mean one or two rats, more like twenty-plus!)

I have lived here for over 6 months now, so I did give it a chance. Was quaint at first but that wore off pretty quickly for me. I am lucky to have a very open-minded GF who is perfectly fine with me wanting 2 girls (or even 3) , as long as one of them is her. She is OK with me going solo, but would rather I did not. Our goal for a while was to find a couple good ones that we felt we could trust and have them come to our apt on a semi-regular basis. Did it a couple times, but the girls here are so flighty. Here one week, gone the next. Wanting regular action means that I am not willing (or able) to dish out p1000 or more at a time, either. Which is why I have preferred FLers. Guess you get what you pay for in the long run. My situation also makes it impossible for me to "romance" girls, as I would be totally leading them on due to my being in a relationship.

As far as cops here: Do not let them intimidate you. As a legal visitor / resident here you are entitled to all the rights a citizen has. They are just like any other crook: If they see weakness they will exploit it, so don't show any. In the few dealings I have had with them in Davao I showed them respect, but also acted in such a way that seriously indicated they had better show me respect, too. And it has worked so far. I do not seek out these encounters and avoid them if possible, but I will not be backed down by a hooker in any country.

Just my advice, take it as you will. I have used boards like these in the past, and I hope my comments will help someone in the future.

We stopped in HL 3 for a second at 8:30 or 9:00 on Thursday night and there was no one in there but (one) on stage. Then we sat in HL 2 on SP for a drink. There was one on stage, tall thin and pretty. And there was another fairly sexy decent looker in the "lounge area" (a musty basement that reminds me of the bilge of a 60 year old boat that's been flooded, all mildewed and rotting) Loud as hell shitty music. We were the only ones in there, but if you would have turned on the lights you probably would have blinded all the cock roaches. The DJ was kind enough to lower the volume enough that I could ask the girl is they were the only ones. She said there were actually 18 of them, 16 in back. I asked if it was possible to have a look and she said ya, she could bring them all out for us to check over. I just remembered we forgot to do that, we left after they cranked up the volume again. But she said after 10:30 they all come out and do the thing where the lights are shut down and they all get naked. One thing I thought was interesting is that any extra entertainment provided by the dancers, the price is consumable up to 5 drinks for the man, and 4 for the lady. (60 PHP beer / 300 LD)

I have lived inn Davao about a year and read ISG regularly. Yours is the first mention I have heard of KINGS. The price seems high when compared to Plaza Roman. Keep us posted please. I visited a massage parlor the other day. The sign outside said it was for families. I was surprised that near the end of my 1 hour full body massage the girl offered me a happy ending for 1, 000. My Philippine friend got the same offer for 500.

When confronted with the options of HJ or CBJ or CFS in a Spa, I prefer to opt for the lowest cost option, not that I am a bargain hunter. My experience has been that these ladies have expertise in manual manipulation that make a HJ quite enjoyable. It is usually pretty dark in there, so I am a bit apprehensive about poking a strange hole.

It is possible to have fun in Davao, but not so easy as sometimes described. Better to come for beach visits with family than to fly in with the ambition to taste a new clam burger for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It can be done but mostly be people who have a large network of providers or a lot of time and some game.

Night life used to be better, but Mr D and his conservative guardians of moral are slowly but firmly killing the options one by one.

The only good way to deal with any SW in Davao is if you know the mamasan. That is your leverage. The girls rarely will mess around with the mammasan. But all in all it is a pathetic scene, compared to other options. If you have time and money to spend in Davao, you can live a reasonably good life with a constant flow of cuties. But for the poonani reason alone, I would not choose Davao for a visit unless you have a lot of time and no direct stress to hook up.

If you have time and money to spend in Davao, you can live a reasonably good life with a constant flow of cuties.

BAgain for the guys getting close to their retirement dream, I'll share a few of my thoughts.

Had some hours early this morning as I lay awake listening to the loud-speaker and the pounding to reflect on my life here in this great city. (side note) I would imagine the average 10 year old girl in most places could look at the job at hand and determine that a chisel would be a good choice to use to pop loose the tiles from below. Here, the universal tool is a piece of coconut wood with a nail through it. You take three of those, three hammers, three guys, and three days to pulverize out less than 200 floor tiles in a tiny studio apartment. I mean the debris left behind looked like talcum powder.

Anyhow, I got on this bummer thinking about how I never hear any birds chirping, I never see any butterflies, I never see starlight skies, I never see a nice sunset, and I rarely see a nice beach. Now all these things are accessible of course, but unless you want to ride in an airplane, or have a nice car and want to sit in traffic, you're going to experience some significant hardships reaching them. There's no end in sight to the goat fuck that's the boulevard between Downtown and Sasa where you catch the boat to Samal.

I'm much more likely to be stuck neck deep in 3 lanes of traffic blocked to a halt by jeepneys and taxis (then clear ahead for a short stretch). Every one of them on every horn sound imaginable, blowing at every thing that moves or doesn't move. That along with the noxious smell of diesel smoke anywhere outdoors. And of course the only thing you can rely on that will never be out of stock (besides a new phone number) is bad music.

So there's my news flash, and here's my point. All that is just to underline the part Barba wrote about time and MONEY if it's Davao City you have in mind as you finalize your game plan. Because the time and roughly 70k PHP I spend a month is enough to eat good, live in an "impressive" condo, and enjoy a steady stream of trim. I didn't have a care in the world last night the good while half my dick was squeezed deep inside an 18 year old guapa. But what I'd say is absolutely needed is the means to be able to put your ass on an airplane, maybe even with that guapa's ass and get the hell out fairly often.

Pussy is the only reason anyone would come here, Davao has no scenic boulevards or impressive structures.

I, like Pimpin often sit and ponder why I live here. I basically picked it for safety and I can say that after a year I have never felt threatened by anyone. I find comfort in the knowledge that if I was the victim of a crime the police would find someone to kill.

Taxi drivers are friendly and honest, but taxi drivers do not come with tits. Hot legs is a sleazy hole, but I like it anyway. When I stroll the malls I often see older western men with young and what I do not consider attractive women. I often think "i hope I don't look as bad as that guy." PimpinSam gave me the worst compliment when we first met, he was aware of my medical history and upon seeing me declared "I was not as decrepit" as he anticipated.

I do ask myself sometimes why I remain in Davao. Though initially I came there for work, my situation has changed and most of my work obligations and tasks are in Manila, so there's no work-related reason to remain. I thought of moving to Makati several months ago, but decided to remain. As you imply, everyone has his own criteria, his own needs and I guess, his own comfort zone. I decided to remain because, in general, I don't much like Manila. Despite the patina of sophistication of Makati, the Fort, and some of Ortigas, I find the place overly congested, poorly managed, and generally unappealing, though I can fully understand why others would see it from a different perspective. And it's "sophisticated" areas are largely pale "want to be" imitations of what someone imagines the West much be like, so they got the shops about right but are clueless about the urban culture.

I decided to remain in Davao because, after 10+ years, I'm comfortable there and I'd have a hard time finding a condo that would accommodate my Great Dane. Facetiousness aside, I find Davao more relaxing, far less congested, and in general more serene than my only viable alternative. The overall security of the place is important to me as well, and I do feel quite safe there. Also, it's developed just enough over the past few years to provide some of the urban amenities I find most important. I can get my wines, my European and American food, and I've got a French restaurant I like a great deal.

All told, I've not fund anywhere in the country that holds any cultural interest for me. I'm way too old, and way to jaded to get excited about the endless conquests of women: having lived in third world countries for a lot of years, the fascination of that aspect of life eroded for me years ago. But work and personal commitments hold me here and unless and until those change, Davao is not a bad place to hang my hat.

GEHaha. Me too, it's as good as I can find, that's why I just paid my rent again. I feel great today, I think they finished the tile job. Thanks for the perspective guys. Towards the end I wrote news flash because I knew I wasn't saying anything slick to you all that have allot more experience than me. I get a chuckle every time there's a newb inquiry about the all around best beach / pussy paradise. I'm still searching and I hope it remains secret. Maybe if I too get lucky and find one that satisfies me for more than a day I'll drag up and move to the beach. Salamat

In Davao at the moment and under pressure from a lot local DIA's who like to "meet". As they seem pretty much medium to hardcore pro's I would appreciate to hear whats considered typical compensation package for such a DIA. Feel free to PM. Thanks PN

Hello fellow mongers.

I wrote many reports in the German partytreffs section and helped many mongers there but never been to Philippines so I am not really proud that my first comment here is a question, I did RTFF but my situation is a bit special and a direct help from Filipino society experts will be very much appreciated .

Basically I am in my 20s and got bored from life in Europe so I decided to use my savings to spend a year in Philippines (Davao city) , unlike most of you I am not rich which means that I won't be able to spend much on girls, during this year I want to depend only on DIA girls and other dating websites girls. Since I am staying a year so time and taking things slowly with girls is not a problem. If I end up with many sex partners / experiences that will be great and if I end up with 1 sweet / suitable girlfriend that will not be bad either.

So how my 1 year experience will most likely be based on your knowledge / experience in the Filipino society? . Are the odds with me or against me to have a good year with girls in Davao?

Any advices will be really appreciated.

Happy mongers everybody and will surly start to report in the forum once I arrived to Davao.

Like it's been said here repeatedly, Davao is good if you have time and patience. You don't really need DIA but if you're going to play that angle, why not prepay the whole year for FC, there's way more there. But you'll meet plenty on your daily routine. Depends how high your standards are, but if you are looking for 18-19 year old beauty (s) , with nice teeth and an ass that looks like a department store mannequin, you may be in for bit of a let down. Most of those are in school or NBSB's (no bf since birth). And you can spend your whole year texting with them. Also living on a shoestring is a bitchh, especially if you plan on "dating" much. Everyone is always hungry so you need a few disposable pesos to throw around every day for your auditions. Even the nicest of them is going to need "help". Unless of course you can be satisfied with an older (late 20's-30's) then that may cut your cost in half.

Incidentally, you can get 3 years now on a tourist visa. It's just 2,830 every 59 days. Just go to the office opposite Victoria at 3:30, you'll be out by 4:00.

But you'll have fun man. I would recommend saving up a little extra to be able to get out once in a while and do some sight seeing, get a little fresh air. Bring an extra 40k for a second hand motor, you'll eventually save that in taxi fares. Oh, and one more thing. Get ready to start texting, bring a good touch screen. But if it's not dual SIM set it up with a pre-paid Smart number, that's the network most use here.

Hope that helps for now.

Wao. Took a troll through Magsaysay Park yesterday afternoon and the place was a refugee camp, the poorest of the poor. The rail around the roller ring was a giant clothes line. Didn't bother to ask why, but I finally put it together later in the evening when I got a small text flurry from gals I thought dumped me long ago. Now all of a sudden they miss me so much. That fire blazed through and razed a thousand homes in one of the squatter barangays, apparently caused by a burning candle. My thoughts go out to all the homeless, hope they can get some meaningful help.

Seriously I know families caught up in Yolanda still waiting for help, government no help, local politicians playing local nasty politics. I am sad for them also as really little hope while the politicians are in the news for the pork barrel scam and many other similar issues.

Ya, it's really bad man. It don't look as if they're getting much help so far anyway. I spent a couple hours walking around and sitting in a burnt out block room with a girl I met. (She met me) I Didn't go there with the intention to meet anyone, or to do anything useful for that matter, other than a few coins for the kids and a few small notes here and there. But looks like about all that's come so far is a few pots of rice soup. Many don't even have a sheet left, everything went up so they're sleeping in the sand. They were saying maybe 3, 000 homes. That may change though. Who know, let s hope. I remember on Negros when the river overflowed and took lots of homes, there was allot of lumber and cement brought in.

But it's amazing how they still have such a positive attitude and can still joke and laugh. Just going about their business like any other day. Strong people.

GEOne guess should be enough to answer this one GE

A good observation and one my friend in the Yolanda hit area is asking herself but she sort of already knows. Said she won't vote next election because of the lack of support etc and has basically given up hoping that someone (ie the government) will help fix her home etc and the local politicians playing games with the aid. Wonder what would happen if everyone did the same and did not vote LOL.

I also read that 5000 homes in Tacloban still had no power (we are now April!)

Irony Monger in the DS forum did a good FR on his visit to the area and we have had some offline chats. All very depressing!

For the past few days I've been thinking about the political polemic vs. Reality gap in the Philippines, largely because it seems to me that the gap is rapidly becoming an abyss. As I listen to the baseless grandiloquence of P-Noy (who actually looks a bit like Alfred E. Newman) , and contrast that with what I experience daily here in Davao, I'm continually amazed at the docility of he average Filipino and astounded that there's not more anger.

As most readers of this forum likely know, we're now suffering in Mindanao from the annual brownouts, caused by the complete failure of the national government to meet the growing need for electrical power. No surprises; its a perennial problem and I doubt that there's anyone in the country who believes the government will actually do anything about it, except "make plans," that are never implemented. What never struck me much before this brownout season was the devastating effects of this monumental failure of government on local businesses. The lesson was brought home to me twice this week. Once on Saturday, as I was celebrating my birthday with friends at my favorite restaurant, Bon Appétit where, at about 9 o'clock—the height of the restaurant's busiest time–the electricity was cut off for two hours, with no warning, no schedule, no apology. So, no lights in the kitchen, no ovens, no mixers and an immediate negative consequence for e nught's income. The second instance came today when, at the end of the one hour electricity cut, neither the cable television service not the Internet worked. When I called Sky Cable, I was told told that the "rotating brownouts" are having devastating effects on the delicate electronics on which the service depends. That of course prompted the question of how many thousands of dollars worth of electronics are fried every day by the abrupt cuts and the electrical surges once the power comes on again?

Given that the situation has persisted for years, and has worsened during that time, you've got to wonder whether, once the politicians have stolen all they can for the day, if anyone even gives a passing thought to the welfare of the country.

Good questions, GE.

For the electronics surge protectors and smart UPS, which gracefully shutdown and then restart devices, are typically used. Large facilities will have facility UPS and diesel generators connected to automatic transfer switches. But do they here?

From the reports of the inferno that destroyed much of a barangay the investigators believe it was caused by a candle. I wonder whether this area was in the dark due to a blackout when the fateful match was struck.

A friend in an affected area of N. Cebu (roof blown off / minor injuries) suggested that one should go directly to mountain areas to help people. Skip the local govt. It was never made clear what things would be most helpful at this time. In the early days, it was food and water of course.

Oh man, this is getting past the point of a little pain in the ass, residing in Davao has become what feels like a survival mission. My thoughts go out to the ones REALLY suffering like the folks that have no other choice, and the ones trying to run a business. Those who would say waking up at 5:00AM sweating due to no aircon doesn't sound all that bad.

Without too long of a rant, just a couple things within a 48 hr period. I like to eat good and I'm picky, so I'm down to a few restaurants and a some home cooking. So I'm going to the public market and the whole highway is black. There's vehicles with no lights shooting through intersections. (Thank God for those horns). I get to the public market, (the largest market on the second largest island) , and it's pitch black except for a few candles. No one selling much of anything. They are increasing the frequency and length of brown outs so somewhere is always affected.

By the next night I'd gathered all the ingredients for tacos. (Business idea: bring a good Mex restaurant to Davao). Mid preparation, click. Out go the lights, fuck. OK, head to Claude's. Get there and he's set up out in the garden cause he's got no power. He said the night before he lost 73 customers. So at least his girls get their exercise and we can enjoy the smell of a good meal, just with the occasional whiff of diesel fumes. The next afternoon, go to Gmall to have a refreshment and some viewing. Brown out there. The lower level is sweltering. Every person in the place is waving something in their face.

That evening I had the chance to bring a couple 19 year old best friends to my place. Basically looked like it was going to be a plea for help. But there were no guarantees because they were both conservative, definitely not the P4P type. And neither had been with a foreigner except for the time I snacked on the smaller ones sweet pussy for a while. I tried before but couldn't nail her so she may have brought her friend along to kind of sacrifice her up. But at any rate, I was about to find out.

Got the small talk out of the way, laying on the bed, aircon on high. I'm holding one's hand and petting the other's leg. She's touching my back and playing with my hair and my dick is poking through my shorts into the side of the smaller one. Going great so far, then click. Off goes the light and the aircon. Fuck me. But it's manageable, add a little ambiance with a couple candles. But pretty soon it's about 45 degrees and the smaller one (previously eaten pussy) wants to split for a while and leave us alone. I'm not going to force it so fine, she takes off. It didn't take too long before I got the remaining one rinsed off, on the workbench naked to the panties, making out and my dick in her hand. But by now it's stifling hot, we're drenched in sweat and she's not so comfortable any more. So it just wasn't going to happen.

So I get home later, the light is back on and the aircon is blazing. Great, I'll get on the laptop and complain to someone who cares (ISG readers). No connection. (At 1, 300P a mo.) Every time that happens the cable is out for almost 24 hours to the whole complex. So everyone is left with no TV and no net.

Then I ran into a neighbor and he says how long have you been here? No one ever told you there's an emergency breaker that will light half your apartment? But the manager says it's triple the rate so get ready for your bill to sky rocket. (More money for less power).

My goodness, the jury may be almost done deliberating this case whether it's all worth it or not. Haha. Oh, but I should mention help is on the way. I hear the new power plant is scheduled to start operation in 2015.

GoodEnough

Sam, I hear you. In fact your post struck a sympathetic chord with me as I've been having the same thoughts. I've been here now for more than 10 years and the brownouts started about 3 years ago. The problem is this are getting far worse, and with electricity cuts now extending up to 7. 5 hours, it may be time for me to pull the plug, so to speak, on my sojourn here, as spending large parts of the day with no aircon in a tropical climate is becoming intolerable. There are, I believe 4 power plants under construction with two due to come online sometime in 2015, and the others about 3 years later.

I am struck by the fact that the regional economy must be hemorrhaging billions of pesos a week, and no one seems to care at all. This problem was predicted years ago, though in keeping with rich local tradition, nothing was done about it.

I'm finally at a point that's beyond disgust, and I can't even work up the energy to indulge in cutting sarcasm. I think I've about had it.

Add the mass pray the church ordered to stop Yolanda and save the country from death and destruction and we can see where we are going with this.

Then after the tragedy did the church open its coffers and help the millions displaced? Or was there a spin doctor trying to say the power of prayer was still working despite the abject failure of the church to prevent Yolanda.

As FF said in another post the middle classes and above have likely given up with the church as it is irrelvant.

she tells me to "take" the other one (the hot one) well, she's half awake now so we start making out a little. she was actually giving me her best kiss and it was nice. but i realized this isn't good, they're drunk. we were all still fully dressed, but if they wake up naked, well, you got the idea. so i did the right thing (i thought), i made sure the door was locked, bid the hotel manager good night, told him they were drunk and i split.

the next day we met again at peoples park. they were in the same clothes still and the hot one remembered the kiss. she hits me up for 4 k because she's going to have to drop out of school. i told her i don't have 4 k right up front, but i like her and it wouldn't take long at all, say a thousand at a time. i said let's get a beer in you and get back to where we left off.

well, that's the last i heard from her for months. finally one afternoon she texted me. i asked her what she was doing, if she was in school, was she working? she said maybe she has to work tonight, maybe not. i said huh, where you work? she says you know central bank? . uh ya, i know that place, what the fuck? says she's been working there for months, doing 2 a night.

man, that may have been the most insulting thing that ever happened to me. this chick would rather go fuck strangers on the corner for money than me cause it pays a little better. haha. i now realize i should have just flogged her that night and put a grand in purse. maybe things would have ended differently. i'd have my smokin hot gf, and there would be one less poor girl forced into a life of prostitution.

I'm searching through the posts and I have not found any real information about local mongering. It is really not a very good mongering place. It used to be much better some years ago, but you have to spend quite a lot of time for quality that is questionable. Unless you have a large network of friends and contacts, Davao is better for GFE or retirement hunting when time is less of an issue.

Oh man,

So it just wasn't going to happen.
.So many complaints on here! You'd think Davao reports are from people forced to live in a 3rd world country. I just can't believe that UNLESS a guy goes there without good savings or a non-risky plan to have steady work from abroad (EG: digital) it's bad.

I remember nights in Cebu with girls that were 9's who were virgins or close. They never did a Westerner. But a couple of them I'll never forget even if it.

SEEMED like a let-down at the time like your story. Making-out and groping a 9 that's wet as a summer day in New Orleans is a memory that still puts a smile on my face.

I'm going to the Philippines for the first time and I'm thinking about visiting Davao for a few days. I'm searching through the posts and I have not found any real information about local mongering. Where are the bars or where do the freelancers hangout? What is the average price?

Thank you for your assistance. I promise to report on my trip back to Manila.I know the ropes have friends in Davao and still RARELY get laid in Davao. It is a nice clean city but not for easy decent sex and I have a little game!

I've been in a steady, fulfilling relationship in Davao for about ten years, and so my knowledge of the pick-up scene was based in dimly-recalled experiences of years past, that is, until last night. I had a colleague in town for two nights, and, as this was his first or maybe his second trip here, he asked if we (my lady and I) could take him around. My lady was also interested in a Davao by night tour and had no qualms about accompanying us.

We began with dinner at De Bonte Koe on Rizal St. And it was, as always, excellent. The steaks were perfectly cooked, as was everything else. This is one of the few places I been in country that has maintained its standards over several years, and my friend seriously liked the place, however the quality of the night deteriorated quickly thereafter.

We began our crawl at Hotlegs III, since, according to my hazy recollections, this was the cleanest or at least the most attractive of these establishments. The problems began at the door, when the guard told me my partner could not enter as no off-site ladies were allowed. However, he changed his mind quickly when we turned to walk away. It didn't matter. The first thing that struck us immediately on entry was the smell, which was strictly eau de perspiration. The place simply stank. Plus, though there were a few (less than a handful) of scantily clad young women lounging around, there were no other customers and the whole place looked and smelled of quiet desperation. We didn't hang around for a drink.

I had heard from some friends that they had enjoyed themselves at a place called Blue Opera, on Lanang, so that was the next place we tried, though I had not been therefore. This turned out to be a dark, carvernous KTV without any customers and no women in sight. When I queried the manager, she told me that she didn't bother to bring the women out unless there were customers, but since my friend was alone she would be happy to present a lineup. We didn't bother as the place was empty, depressing, and while not outright seedy was headed in that direction. Plus, we would have felt like the only paying customers in an otherwise empty stadium.

Next up, and last on the list, was Roman Plaza, which I had remembered somewhat fondly from the old days as I had been taken there on my very first night in Davao and had taken out a cute, nubile young woman. Times though have changed. On the positive side, the bar has been completely, and expensively redone. It's extremely attractive, with nice furnishings, a good sound system, and nice indirect lighting. In the negative side, there were four women, none of whom I would ever consider taking, lounging indifferently around the place. When I asked the manager why there were so few women, she told me that the girls were all tired from practice during the afternoon. I guess the irony implicit in her statement escaped her. We did have one drink, and then were surprised on exiting to discover that the consumable cover charge was Php350 per person. Which, given the attractiveness of the place would have been reasonable had there been anything at all going on. We left at about 11:30, and noticed that the four dancers were all leaving as well. I can't believe, given the obviously inept management and the absence of women, that this place will survive in its present form for very long. I should add, in the interest of completeness, that there's a KTV, with additional women, in the same building, with an entrance a few meters from the bar entrance. We didn't go in.

So, there you have it. On e whole, a rather dismal, thoroughly depressing tour des boites though I guess someone utterly desperate could have scored at any of the venues. You'd have to be really in need though.

Whatever happened to Rizal promenade just down the street from De Bonte Koe? There used to be a live band in the atrium and a smallish disco on the corner with a name that was also a number. 1874, or something like that. Excuse me while the some much ignored brain cells start firing. LOL. I did okay at that place. I even shagged one of the office employees, but I met her online rather than in the bar.

GE, what night of the week did this take place?

Recently, I came across an online photograph of some Davao gals in front of a Ceasar statue. I seem to remember many years ago that someone did a review of Davao beaches (Davao side. Not Samal) which mentioned some edgy nightlife on the beach near a hotel with a statue of Ceasar in the courtyard.

And I have to be honest, I never thought much of the Hotlegs bars even when I was there about ten years ago. X.

Hi X. It was on a Thursday night. Your recollection of the Rizal alleyway is correct. It used to be a jumping place, but now it's about deserted. There must be other places in town where guys go to find P4 P ladies. I've just been away from the scene so long that I've no idea where these places are. We did pass what seemed a newish place called Goddess on Roxas. Maybe there was something happening inside but we just drove past.

I'm thinking that if I were single, looking to enjoy the company of SWTs, and wanted to explore, Davao would not be on my top ten list of possible destinations.

P.S. Am I the only one having a problem with the auto correct features of the forum software? I spend time reviewing and editing my posts, only to find so, e rather strangely spelled words after upload.

Rizal 183 closed years ago. There is something new now in the same building, but more or less empty always. Some lame ass concerts on that old stage, but just a few parons at best, every time I passed. 183 used to kick ass with table dancing and party until sunrise.

SPE is the place most people visit on Rizal, but it has been going down hill rapidly since they banned the shisha. It is quite frankly not a place to pick up ladies unless you are reasonably desperate. Star and Hybrid can be fun, but neither a place to pick up p4 p. More a club like experience, with the obvious disclaimers about using the word "club" in the same sentence as "Davao".

MTS (Matina Town Square) and Business Class on Polo Street are also worth to visit, if you just want to hang out and have some beers and maybe meet females the more traditional way.

I suggest you try ET on Quimpo (Ecoland) if you have to go to a KTV.

X-man, was it not the statue of David? I have met talent there on the "Seawalk" a few times, back in the days when I used to roam around a lot, but this place is very far from anything anyone would refer to as edgy nightlife. It is however a reasonably natural stop on the way to or from Bonguyan.

Bonguyan can be a lot fun and will make Hot Legs look like the Taj Mahal. Full disclaimers on Bonguyan for anything from knife fighting drug addicts to falling through the dance floor into the shit smelling sea. But it can be fun, if you are used to this type of Phil-experience.

As I stated many times before; you either need to work your online girlfriends or maintain a good network to have a high frequency of quality poonani in Davao. Tionko / see Bank sucks almost always, and so do most other regular and well known places for P4 P in this city.

Going back in September.
