It appears I have made the huge mistake of posting in bad form or inproper WSG etiquate. Posting after lurking without introducing myself 1st, or whatever you guys think is proper. So, i'll introduce myself. I'm DrSlim from the USA. I've been a member of this forum since way before Jackson had the problems and changed addresses. I am a mongering hobbyist who enjoys his hobby to the limits. I monger primarily in the PI and Thailand. Ten years experiance with countless episodes, none of which I've ever posted about. I believe that the WSG is an incredible source of information. I also believe that the WSG was much better before. I further believe that the WSG is getting clogged with too many personal attacks and messages. There was a point in this Davao thread where 20 posts in a row were about bullshit and I thought by saying something (that Jackson himself has posted before), the personal stuff would cease. But thats not the case. There was a time on, I think, the cebu thread, that Dragon Slayer and Mahu were just going back and forth, back and forth clogging the site. And you critisize me for not wanting to read that shit? There a big back and forth bullshit session about keeping the prices down, "dont ruin it for everybody". And someone called "me" pathetic. This is why I lurk rather than post, and this is why when I go to Cebu for months at a time doing biusiness, I avoid the ex-pat mongers. I really dont like to be involved with people who just talk about viagra, beer, and filipinas like they are pieces of meat. I love filipinas, I respect filipina prostitutes, the filipino people, and even the country and culture...once I got used to it's frustrating reality. But I talk about all this off site, and hope this site can be just about the sex.

To address some comments made to and about me, "whatever" cause its my own fault that I never introduced myself. About getting my kicks from reading the exploits of others. Firstly, I dont believe half of the stuff you guys post. But i thought keeping that to myself was the smart thing to do. I suppose a good WSG member posts every little opinion on evry topic. Not me. I try to keep my opinions to myself. I dont eat TV dinners. I can afford restarants.

The members of this group will do what they wish, with or without my comments. Apparently, some of you swear that talking about all this cultural stuff helps find better women (?) or helps your mongering by knowing who own which mine or which bank. I love that. Imagine, because I can name the the mayor of cebu, the blow job I got at the black pearl was so much more satisfying. And because I can name the six most powerful families in the phils, its easier to get a landmark girl to have coffee with me. Gosh, this culteral stuff really works! I dont see the conection guys, but if you do, and obviously you do, I guess I cannot stop you from posting the fascinating culteral stuff.

I go to the Phils often. I spent 5 months in 2004 in cebu and 2 months so far this year. Before that I came for 2-3 weeks several times per year. I own a business there. I've been married to a filipina and divorced. I have 1/2 filipino children. I have many filipino in-laws whom I keep a great relationship with. I've been to Mindanao. I am as experianced as anyone can be except those who retired there.

Lastly, here is my experiance in mongering in a nutshell. Respond or ask questions freely.

Cebu: I reckon Dr Slim is a troll, probably from the Thai board. Why did he make his debut on the Davao board which is not a primary mongering destination? And why did he supply no worthwhile information in either of his (deliberately?) mispelt posts? The spat he mentions has been dead for some time so why does he ressurect it (on his second post)? Nor has he expressed an intention of visiting Davao soon so copy my example and add him to your ignore list. He says he does not share information anyway so why read him?
Mindanao is different for many of the reasons explored here and for others Cebu mentions. Bombs go off in Mindanao, they do not go off in Angeles. If a guy wants a quick fuck, he should not waste his time going to Mindanao but should stay in Manila or wherever.
Cebu is right in all threads having their own feel. The problem with Thailand, for example, is it is too easy for life's losers to go there and hten they clog up the board with their wide eyed drivel.
Jackson opened a FAQ in the Pi but no one posted in it. Maybe Ceby should give all his nuts and bolts details there in future.
One more thing: On the Thai board, I have found Freeler's comments to be the most informative and incisive. But everyone's journey is different. I will remmember some of the comments Cebu and GE made here ont his Davao thread long after I forget about today's price for big titted skanks in Angeles.
I have been around since before Jackson took the helm and I think things were better then because there as more frontier news, no photos and a higher information to noise ratio. I know this is now a minority view as the hits on the photo sections make plain. But that does not make it wrong. The Internet is full of pornol it is not full of unorthodox takes on Davao. And if I go to Davao, that is what I want. I have my LP. I know where to stay, I know where to score, I know where to find Maurice. Now tell me something I don't know and that I want to know.

I've had my say on Dr. Slim, and don't really have anything to add, except that I agree, as I usually do, with Domino. While I have neither current nor historical knowledge of the price of big-titted skanks in Angeles, having never been there, I do have one new observation on the bar Someplace Else.

This is the bar that relocated, about 6 months ago, from Legaspi St. to Rizal, and is now duagonally across from De Bonte Koe Restaurant and directly across from the Red Bar. On the last two occassions that I ate at De Bonte Koe, I have noticed two new GROs at Somplace else and both seem (admittedly in dim light) to be extremely good looking. I've also noticed that business at that bar has picked up quite a bit since the introduction of these two ladies.

By the way fellas, it's almost exam time again at the universities here. This means that lots of ladies are going to be looking for the means to pay their next tuition installment, which means lots of (non-skank) opportunities on the mean streets of Davao and in its bars and environs. The Rizal places such as Chico's, Swig and Bar 186 should be packed on Friday and Saturday, since exams are only a week away.

The Model House is one of the bars in a small complex called Circle in the Square, and it's right in the middle of town. Cabaggio is the name of a street, not an area, and any taxi driver can take you there. It's about a 10 minute ride from the Marco Polo.

This complex houses a bar, with GROs and dancers, a Karaoke room, an aquarium - type massage place with other women, and it used to have another bar, which I think is closed. It's all owned by the same folks, and it's on the same street as Moonlight, which I think is a much better place.

The quality of the girls here varies greatly from week to week, so what you find depends on when you come. I should tell you that this bar is not a reason for coming here. You will find much better bars in Manila, Cebu and 50 other places in the PI.

I do remember that the barfine here is highly negotiable. They will start out with some ridiculous price, and you can bargain down to about P2,500, which includes the girl's time, in about 2 minutes. Moonlight, which is up the road, has a bar fine of P2,000 and to me, it's better value.

I have gone to this club with my giorlfriend a couple of times, but she too, did not enjoy it as much as she enjoyed Moonlight, which has better music and is much more attractive. If you're looking for a straight-up strip bar, I think that Hot Legs is probably the best in Davao, but again, it's not nearly as good as bars found in other cities.

Finally, I think the name that most cab drivers will recognize is Roman Plaza, which may be the name of the whole complex.

The next installment of university tuition is due next week, and, as predicted, the tuition babes are out in full force in their mini-skirted uniforms. It was the best of times (for Christine) and the worst of times (for Michelle and Domino aka Moby Dick).
Before the discovery of oil in Pensylvania, Americans used whale as their source of oil. Word reached the whalers of Moby Dick, a giant white whale which roamed the Pacific, devouring all in its path. Same as the hookers who heard about Domino Dick.

She texted Christine who congratulated her on her new lodgings, complete with secure room and guard (a gated community). Moby Dick suggested we should visit her and bring her a few essentials; Domino has been down the State Pen road before. Christine says what for? It turns out, maybe Cebu can confirm, if you are inside in the Philippines, you get lodgings, "food" and nothing else. No sanitary napkins, no dentist, no toothpaste etc unless you can pay for them. This explains the many toothless wonders Domino sees at Skank Corner and other tourist spots. Christine, like the wise virgin in the parable who has her oil (complements of Domino), is disgusted that Michelle was using shabu. What are skanks coming to these days? Domino wants to visit Michelle coz he thinks she is one fucked up kid who is going to be seriously deranged when she is released, many months and teeth later.
We went out for a meal (two duck eggs a piece from a street vendor; the wine was a rather heavy red and "the wine blushed to see its Maker") We then sauntered back towards my 250 pesos luxury squat and went up to my room, past the disapproving eyes of the hotel staff and the gaudy Infant of Prague/ Santa Nino who hovered down on us from its vantage point on the cockroach infested wall.
As Christine sat on the bed, I gazed down lovingly at her, and lusted after her belly flab (the results of her two kids) and her sucked out paps. She then removed her pants (same ones Danish lover boy who is back on the scene gave her) and her panties, which were, like the pants (are Danish women that small?) covered with an alluring crimson blush, the onset of her period. By now the great white whale is used to such mishaps and he volunteered to go out and buy tampons (sanitary pads they call them in the Pi). He returns to the room where his bloodied beloved is waiting (along with about $5,000 cash and credit cards she knows nothing about). She puts on a tampon and the two lovers talk about that topic so beloved of all Romeos and Juliets: skanking and tamponing.
She says she skanks when red, goes to the room, gets the money and asks for 10 pesos for condom and/or cigarettes. Then she does a runner. Domino suggested this might be a high risk strategy and asked her about her avoidance strategy from the angry monger. She says she and mamasan (young male pimp) hide and the monger never comes back a second night. Obviously, Jackson has a large, untapped market out there.
I asked her how she is managing without Michelle. Michelle who? She no longer pays for sister to mind the kids. Instead her sister sleeps over and can eat the food. "Cheaper than a maid" says Christine. I asked what sister's husband who is in the security business (6000 pesos a month guarding a food stall) thinks about sleeping alone. She shrugged.
The children are coming along well. Daughter is in the Girl Guides of the Phils and is getting extra math lessons on Saturdays. She is averaging 84 in her tests but if she can move the average up to 85, she will get sponsored by some Canadian lady who is already sponsoring some kids in the school. I gave her my 6 liter empty water container (she had requested one the last time and Romeo Domino obliged: true romantics remember the little things.)
Speaking of little things: I am meeting her at 2 today. When we met last night she had 3 pesos to her name. She tells me she can clear 15,000 pesos a month. These women are a financial black hole as there is no bottom. Just look at the shit that goes into the pawn shops, rice cookers and the like. Or the cameras the professional photographers around City Hall use to eke out a living.
Cebu: I texted Good Enough last night from Christine's phone so he has her details too. I will pass on your kind offer. She is a sweet kid with 2 babies. But there is hope. Her daughter, aged 6, bought her a very sweet necklace for 15 pesos; it shows good taste and the benefits of a Catholic education.
Cebu#2: I will get back to her about that. She tells me there are plenty of customers in town for this week's conference but they are not biting (I put this down to bad salesmanship). Some German dude showed up with a Pi tout but would not pay 1000 pesos. I guess the tout needed a lower price to justify his commission. I will pass on your offer and you can deal directly with her. I will waive my pimp fee. She is a nice kid and nothing more, trying to give her kids a better life. I often wonder what might have been with these women. I left them with a few hundred pesos and the cops offered to allow me to bail them out at 100,000 pesos a piece but dropped their price to 50,000 within 1 minute. I passed it up. Tomorrow they are off to jail which is about a 30 minute jeepney ride away. The deal is 6 months minimum for a first offense, life imprisonment for dealing and so on. Not a place to be caught fucking about in. The five skanks offered to service me when they get out. One of them was passable.

Nice report Spam Hog. The prisons are interesting places. So are the cheap cafes. I went into some dive yesterday and had two milkfish and rice. I have not written much recently on this thread, as Domino's insightful posts have sparked some pretty good repartee, and I had nothing to add. This point about condoms however, does merit some additional comments. The reason that locally-made condoms break rather often is that they are not made to Western size standards. For an average-sized Westerner, putting on a Philippine condom is somewhat akin to forcing a size 9 foot into a size 5 shoe. You may get it in, but you ain't gonna walk. Buy the imported. At least you'll be comfortable, and it won't take you ten minutes to work it into position.

I'm reassured that a well-travelled person like Domino finds this "the saddest place." I thought it was only me. It's even more morose than most of the
African countries in which I've worked. Maybe the reason is that most sub-Saharan Africans are surrounded by countries in the region that are no better off than their own. Maybe it's because the expectations of the average African are so low that the people cannot be disappointed. Maybe I"m full of shit. Whatever the reason, this is a sad place, whose position in the regional economy declines year by year.

It indicated that, in an Asian-wide test of reading and math, Philippine students finished 43rd out of the students from the 45 countries taking the exam. Our Story:

I have been going to Davao for more than nine years now (18 years now going to Asia; 15 to the Phils). I found my Hotel on my firstTrip. Stayed at 4 others over the years and at one man's home here. As my tastes (and wallet) have expanded, I have taken to having a "sunset Champagne hour" on the terrace.

For those of you who may be in Davao next week, you're in luck! It's tuition time again, and the ladies have to pay their penultimate installment before they're permitted to take exams. For those whose economic existence is marginal, life continues to get more difficult. Largely because of dramatic hikes in the price of fuels, prices all over Davao are rising sharply, which means that there's a large percentage of the population (including the aforementioned students) who are really struggling to make ends meet. The fuel increases, coupled with the increasing political instability here makes for interesting times as the economy fails to grow and life grows ever more difficult for a large number of people. This does not, or has not, translated into any violence, but it does translate into a deepening sense of futility.

Seriously I spent 10 days/nights in Makati City (plus Davao and Cebu) last May and over three weeks in Cebu in July/August. NOT EVEN CLOSE. So many places to meet all the lovely, young, gorgeous women. This is one City I can honestly say has gotten better over the last nine (9) years I have been going here. Sure, the downtown Clubs suck. But who the fuck needs them and all the sleazy women in them???? I have not fucked a single woman from one of the downtown Davao Bars yet. Why waste your fucking time and money with all the gorgeous, regular and semi-pro women all around.

What this City needs is some fine wines and great champanges. I had to bring six bottles of premium champagnes with me last Trip. All because there is no place you can buy this quality. Even the moderate champagne, when available in Cebu, is twice what I pay for it back home here. For the guys who have the cell numbers of the various ladies I saw my last two trips, at least two of them have acquired a "fine taste" for premium red wine and good champagne.

On the way to Davao drop by Tinder Box on Archbishop Reyes in Cebu. They have this excellent south african red merlot and a So African (same as at Henny's "De Bonte Koe" in Davao) cabernet/shirz/merlot blend. Both are good and at P370/btl ($6.50 US), a steal. For champagne buy a few bottles of Schlamberg Blanc de Noir or Blanc de Blanc here in the USA. Cost is arourd $30/btl and this is fantastic. I would take the Schlamsberg Blanc de Noir over many $ 50 -$60 bottles of authentic Champagne. I just ordered a case yesterday from a Client who is a Wine/Champagne distributor. The Davao Pussy (and the china pussy) love this champagne. I have tried over 60 different varieties of authentic champagne and California Sparkling Wines (champange NOT from the "Champagne Region of France"). This is the best buy I have found. There is better, real champagne at from $80 - $ 350/btl for the Rich and Wealthy. For the Slayer there is Schlamsberg 2000 Blanc De Noir.

I think I posted about this a few months ago, but it may bear repeating. It's true that, since I've lived here, Davao has been more or less of a wine wasteland. This has changed in the past six months however, as Claude, who owns the French restaurant Cafe de Ville, on Rizal St. has opened a wine retail business and sells very acceptable French wines for prices ranging from about PhP650 to PhP1,200 per bottle. I've started to buy mixed cases of reds, and my average cost per case is about $200, or about $16.50 per bottle. A less expensive alternative here is to buy the Libertas Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon (at about PhP365 per bottle) from the Swiss Deli. It's a very drinkable S. African wine at an extremely reasonable price. This is the house wine at Swiss Deli and Pico Bello.

Claude also sells "standard" Moet et Chandon and Dom Perignon champagnes, at about $50 per bottle. These are not vintage wines, and those suggested by DS may be much better. For those interested and who happen to be in town, Claude and his French wine distributor hold free tastings every few months, and the evenings are quite enjoyable. It's an invitation-only crowd, but the invitations are quite easy to get and I will post the date of the next tasting as soon as it's announced. We went to the most recent tasting two weeks ago, and got to sample ample quantities of 11 wines including 3 whites, a rose, and 7 reds. Some were truly excellent and the food was lovely as well.

For those of you, like me, who enjoy eating decent cheese and bread with your wine, the Swiss Deli sells quite acceptable, Australian-made Brie and Camembert as well as fresh baked baguettes.

Those of you who know the Philippines well understand that Filipinos start preparing in earnest for Christmas celebrations in late August or early September. This year is no different, and the trees, decorations and endless Christmas music have been in place for weeks now. The good news about this is that the few wine merchants in town (basically Claude and Swiss Deli) have been stocking up in anticipation of the increased sales, so there's more decent wine available than is normal.

The Philippines, including Davao, is fast becoming a more upscal place owing NOT to the native population but more to the vast influx of visitors from Japan, Europe, Taiwan, Korea and the USA. Fine wines and Champagnes are extremely popular in all the above locales. This has resulted in an incredible influx of wine bars and bistros. Ralph's has a beautiful Wine Store/Bistro in central Cebu City just off Gorordo Avenue. I hate to bring up the Ralph's Wine Bar in Davao at Venue as I was drugged there last August '04 (read numerous Posts on this).

How I know for certain I was drugged and not just stricken with an "anxiety attack" or something else is simple. August '04 was not my "best period". Had several mishaps and my one daughter's mother had told me to split. I was drinking heavily, spending long nights at "Hot Legs", Ground Zero, and getting into frequent barroom brawls. In other words I was more in keeping with a degenerate or ex-con than a successful, educated professional from a good family. I would fall asleep at 03:00AM - 06:0AM and awaken sometime in the afternoon or early evening for breakfast; then begin drinking.

The night of my drugging by 27 y/o Chin at Ralph's Wine Bar I collapsed (taxi driver had to hold me up and help me to the front door of GE's home) on the couch after getting off 2 texts for help. I awoke 1 1/2 hours later, soaken wet and struggled upstairs to bed. I awoke at 06:30AM feeling fantastic and hungry. I made some coffee and headed off to O'Flanagan's in town for food at 10:00AM opening. Never had such a great night's sleep.

When a wine bottle is open and poared for you, custom has the Wine Steward do this at your table as you observe this in a fashion keeping with the tome of fine wine and good food. That night Chin opened the Bottle I had picked (fair chilean wine) but poured a glass for me behind the counter from which I was unable to observe what she was doing.

At the time I thought this a bit unusual but was more intent on talking with the other four young girls working there. I was the only customer on this Monday evening and the owner was away in NYC. I had been shooting off my mouth in joking fashion about carrying a large amount of cash on me that night (actually I only had $120US and P3000). I believe I had stated $ 1000 US for some incredibly stupid reason; perhaps trying to impress the group of young girls working there.

I thought about dropping by this last Trip but couldn't assure myself I would NOT go "over the counter" after the little druggie. IF my Nephew and Cousins were with me (ALL in Fed/NYC Law Enforcement), I might have stopped. I did enjoy the wine at Henny's and do think this is a great place for a nice evening in Davao. I love the bar area and the very cold a/c. I was not aware of Claude's but I will drop by this coming Trip. I will bring my usual 2-4 bottles of magnificent No. Ca. reds and 4-6 bottles of Champagne.

Anyone in town when I am there, the Sunset Champagne Hour is around 5:30PM or whenever the sun sets. You are welcome to join me on the Terrace for what has become a great 1 1/2 hours. I do not know much about French Wines (many are fabulous) so I lean to my strenghts: No California, Italy, Chile & Argentina.

i am in Zamboanga and reading the board from my palm top, and I don't know how well this will work.

Having sampled more than a few of the Slayer's reds, I can attest to his expertise. I can only suggest that some of the red wines offered by Claude are very, very good.

Henny's remains my favorite place and his food, though prepared more simply than Claude's, is better. His beef is the best in Davao and his prices are more reasonable. It is also the place where, on any given night, I will find five or six people whom I know well.

enough. I am getting thirsty and the only red wine here in Zamboanga comes in a waxed cardboard carton.

Went hard on the money for my Ticket ngiht before last. Like to celebrate this fine occasion so I was out last night and not on this Board. NWA has one hell os a Sale on flights now through Dec 4 to Asia from USA. Never did get around to calling Maurice O'Flanagan.. Can't believe how many Posts this Board has. Only Manila and Cebu have more. I would Post there more frequently but nothing worth posting appears to happen to me in those cities. Fortunately I am presently doing due diligence pertaining to the Slayer's potential acquisition of a premier Wine Store/Bistro in the wealthiest part of our County. There are plenty of reasons why Moonlights is once again "For Sale".

This Place ALWAYS gave me the creeps. Almost walking distance from GE's residence (Base Camp for the World Famous Davao Team in 2004), I spent a few (very few) nights here. I once had the misfortune of needing to use the restroom (CR). Disgusting is too kind a word. It takes next to nothing to keep the toilet facilities clean and sanitary. As slow as the place was, there was plenty of time for each of the women to clean the floor and someone to give it a good sanitizing every few hours. Doubt if it got cleaned annually.

When I was a patron the fags next door kept out of Moonlights. As I stated 2 days ago in a Post, August '04 was NOT my "finest hour". Considering how much I was drinking and barroom brawling back then on a nightly basis, I would have for certain "Lost It" if fruitcup got on stage there naked and showing off his little dick. Bad enough I had to look at the ugly, disgusting pros (D/T Davao had much better quality crawling about Illustre St at 03:00AM) who worked there.

Spamhogs "You're a better man than I am Gunga Din". You must have the patience to "witness the next Coming with a beer in your hand and a smile on your face". I did the VIP Room once in April '04. Two of them took turns sucking my cock as I squeezed their tits. I ended it fucking Kimberly. Ah Spam Hog, that's indeed bad news. Unfortunately, this is a business about which I know very little. For example, if the girls are considered business assets, how fast can you depreciate them? Does it depend on wear and mileage, or is it a straight line process? At any rate, the former French owner of the place once told me that he did not make his money from drop in customers, but from sending his girls out to clients who wanted the privacy of their hotel rooms and didn't want to be seen in public frequenting hooker bars. I have no idea if this was true or not. Also, I think the male strip bar next door made money for him at the time. I do know he kept both bars running for more than 10 years, and I doubt he would have done so if they had not been profitable.

I always thought that the interior of Moonlight was quite attractive, and I do not remember the toilet as being particularly offensive, but then, it's been a while since I was there.

While on the subject of hooker bars, I was told again, by two friends, that Hot Legs 2 is great fun. It's on San Pedro beyond City Hall. I understand that there's a nude candle dance featuring five women that's pretty sexy. I've not been but it does sound like it's worth checking out sometime. My friends also told me that there are more and better looking women there than at the original Hot Legs.

I've been out of town for the past week in Manila and Zamboanga, so have not been out and about here. I do know that the next round of big exams in the nursing schools here occurs next week, and that fees must be paid beforehand, so this is probably a good week for trolling the streets and Rizal St. bars.

Going to go to Henny;s place tonight. I really miss the Davao scene when I'm away for more than a couple of days.

Regarding the latest talk of the Moonlight Bar. I will try to clear up some of the truths and some of the fallacies that have been posted.

1. Yes it is for sale. Sadly as it was always one of those "Well nothing else is going on, lets stop by Moonlight" type of joints. I have entertained many a guest in Davao, plus myself on numerous single forrays to the joint.

2. I've been there many, many times and the quality of girls was never as bad as some of the guys make it out to be. Yes, they weren't poster model/runway model looking girls but they weren't that bad. I tend to look at a girls attitude and personality as well as there physical attributes. Most of the gals in the Moonlight were always very personable and friendly and very accomodating.

3. To those who think the toilet was bad?!?!?! Obviously they have not been in any other bar in Davao cause the toilet in Moonlight was always very very clean. I've been in more than a few in Davao where I stood on my tiptoes to prevent excess exposure to my flip flops and held my breath for the duration of my [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140). I never, ever experienced that in Moonlight.

Oh, by the way, I was just there a couple of days ago.

Yes there were male dancers, which I didn't much care for , but I didn't even notice them till I turned my back after paying the bill to leave. Actually from what i've heard these guys have some of the best info on tail going on in Davao. Always been tough for me to get comfy or intimate with these "guys, gals, people, persons, alternative lifestyle, or what ever the hell they go by" although I am sure they are probably a veritable wealth of knowledge if you are able to win their confidence.

From what I understand the joint next door, " Interlude" was shut down to a separate violation, though who knows exactly what that means.

I urge all readers of this forum to take many of these reports with a grain of salt. From my experience (near on 10 years in Davao alone) GE has the best handle on the pulse of most establishments and has never been very far from the truth.

Others are merely talking out their a$$holes.

Oh by the way has anyone mentioned that recently an American by the name of Mike, who has been mentioned previously, just got the shit beat out of him by some bouncers in a bar. Reminder to all. Fun is fun, but there is always a limit to what the filipino will take from a drunken "Joe". Seen him on the TV while he was in the hospital getting his faced sown up. Filipino press loves that kind of story. Reporter on the scene probably offered a tidy sum not to show the tape on the news, but I'm sure Mike was either too drunk or too poor to do anything about it. From what I understand he pretty much got what he deserved.

On another note, there is a new area to scout. It is on Dacadao Street and it only about 100 meters up from where Dacadao meets R. Castillo. It's a group of about 7 or 8 joints with a selection of different types of bars. I was there on a Sunday and it wasn't too bad at all. One place has an alternating live band and is open air. Another couple is KTV/Videoke, and one is a joint with gals dancing on the tables with lots of laser lights and shit going. Some nice bodied gals, just didn't get around to finding out about their true job description.

All in all well worth another look during the week and hopefully also in the next weekend as well.

Also, thatnks for the kind words. I just try to be as factual as I can be. Otherwise, the information provided is not very helpful. Like you, I never found the girls in Moonlight to be dogs. Granted they were not the most attractive in town, but at least when le Francais owned the place, you could trust them not to steal anything from your place, and that was worth something as well. And, as you said, they had a great attitude.

I'm only vaguely familiar with the area of town you describe, and I've never been to any of those places, but will check them out when I have the time. Have you checked out Hot Legs 2 yet?

I recently returned from a trip to the Philippines (my second journey there). I had spent a couple of days at a resort in the north of Cebu Island, playing golf and snorkeling. But I quickly got tired of the rain (remnants of a typhoon) and wasn't ready to go to Manila. So as I was chatting in a chat room I struck up a conversation with a 40 year old woman from Davao. She told me it's a nice place to visit and if I would come, she would be my tour guide. So with not much to lose except a $100 plane ticket, I flew from Cebu City to Davao for a four day journey. I must say I had a great time there, both as a tourist and as a P4P mongerer. Compared to Manila and Cebu City, Davao is clean and less congested. I didn't see much of the squalor that is so evident in the two other cities. The military has a bit more visual presence there, so it's obvious they're concerned with possible terrorist activities. But no one hassled me while I was there. In fact, I didn't really see all that many white westerners there at all. Whenever I went to a mall, it was amazing how many stares I would get from the local women. I'm an average-looking 45 year old guy with blondish gray hair and blue eyes, so I was a bit of a novelty, I guess. It was fun having kids come up to me on the street and say, "Hey Joe". I'd answer back, "Hey man", and they would all start laughing.

This woman I had met online met me at the airport and drove me to the Apo View hotel. Their website advertises rooms at 4,000 pesos but they gave me a rate of 2300 pesos, which included a real good breakfast. In its day the hotel must have been quite a place with all the ornate mahogany woodwork and marble floors and walls, but it hasn't been updated in quite some time. My room was certainly comfortable and had the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on. And the hotel is located within walking distance of a small mall, lots of internet cafes, and the University Of Mindanao (which means lots of lovely women on the streets during the afternoon). It's also right smack dab in the middle of a few sleazy KTV type places as well as streetwalkers. A guy could have a pretty good time and never have to hail a cab.

After checking in, she and I went out to dinner at this place called Jacks, which is up on a ridge overlooking the city. The food was pretty decent and there are lighted paths along the hillside for couples to go walking. After dinner we took a walk and sat on a bench and talked. We preceeded to smooch a bit, and she whispered in my ear, "I hope you do not think I am bad, but I really want to have sex with you tonight". I replied, "oh I do not think bad of you, because I am very attracted to you as well". So we headed back to the hotel for some fun. But she had a child at home and needed to rush home to him, so she left about 10 pm. Well, I wasn't ready to hit the hay yet so I decided to walk around the hotel and see what was up.

I spent 3 nights walking the streets around the Apo View Hotel and never encountered one problem. But this is a third world country and the infrastructure isn't all that good. The sidewalks are badly cracked, the street lighting is dim, and there's always some shady-looking characters out and about. But I would walk fast and not initiate any conversations, so walking the few blocks down Rizal Street and beyond didn't present any problems.

I walked to the south of the hotel a couple of blocks and ran into a couple of streetwalkers. They sure appeared young to me, perhaps 16 or so. One asked for 1000 pesos but when I said "no thank you" and walked off, she came after me and said she'd do it for 500 pesos. At that point I wanted to go sit somewhere and have a beer and gawk at slutty women, so I passed on the young cuties.

I then headed back to the Apo View and walked what I think is east along Rizal Street. The first intersecting street I came to headed to the south away from the hotel (name escapes me) and looked like it had some night life, so I walked down there. Some street touts tried to convince me to come into their KTV-type joints, but I wasn't ready to sit yet so I passed. I then headed back to Rizal Street and walked farther to the east. About a block down there were a bunch of women sitting in chairs outside some sleazy-looking joint. They all yelled at me to stop, which I obligingly did. There were about 8 women sitting there along with a security guard, and 7 of them were pretty darned mediocre, at least by my standards. But one was cute, at least in my eyes. A great girlfriend experience with a really attractive 40 year old gal.

So to sum it up, I had a great time in Davao. It's not a prime tourist attraction, but the city is friendly and relatively clean and safe. For all you guys who haven't visited the Phils yet, GET YOUR BUTTS OVER THERE! And don't let the US state department warnings scare you off. I really recommend Davao as a place which has inexpensive hotels, cute and willing women, and a more relaxed pace of life. I can even see myself retiring here in a few years, but not without being married first. Life's too complicated there to survive without having a trusted local woman to deal with all the BS that comes from cultural differences.

For those who keep track of such things (such as I), this was the last day of the first term at University here, and the semester is officially over. The good news is that the new semester begins in two weeks, which means that a lot of women have a very short period in which to raise their first tuition installments. This phenomonon should produce wonderful opportunities for those of you who will be here during this period. The Rizal St. bars and Venue should be excellent during most nights of the week for the next two weeks.

We ate tonight at Henny's place and despite the pouring rain, Rizal St. was packed at midnight as we were driving along its length. Virtually all of the bars, including Bar 183 and Swig were doing a booming business as was Someplace Else, which is next door to Henny's. Even the smaller bars fronting the Rizal St. arcade looked full.

I've gotten several PMs recently from guys who are contemplating coming here during November and December. Any time prior to Christmas is usually a pretty good time to be here, since everyone needs money to celebrate the Xmas holidays. For those of you planning on being here over that period, I would suggest you book your hotel rooms early since the good places tend to fill up fast. I was gone for three days this week, in Zamboanga, and I noticed when I came back to Davao this morning, that all of the Christmas lights and decorations are up.

Finally, the last couple of days of October and the first couple of days of November are official holidays here, celebrating All Souls Day and Idul Fitri, which marks the end of Ramadan. The street scene here during this period should be riotous, and I'm sure that the festivities will spill over from the bars.

for those of you who find news like this interesting, davao is getting its first starbucks! yes, those of us who toil here will soon be able to sip the world's most over-hyped, mediocre and over-priced coffee just as other global citizens have come to know and love.the place is being built adjacent to the convention center above bajada road, so the location is reasonably central. it will doubtlessly become a hangout for the more upscale women, much as karl's and blue gray coffee house have become.

on the same street and in almost of same locationk, there's also a new japanese restaurant, that's supposed to be fairly good, but i've not yet eaten there, so cannot yet pass judgment on the food.

cebu local, thanks for the infor on the asean tourism forum. it will further tighten the hotel market during that time. as to suggestions on where to bring the delegates, there are several resort areas rep001tered around davao bay, there's an eagle farm run by the philippine eagle conservatory, a botanical garden, and some decent diving spots. it's also easy to rent a boat that accommodates 40-50 people for a day-long cruise to various islands around the bay. there are several of these boars that can be hired for about php4,500 per day. let me know if you need any specific contacts and i will pm them to you. are you coming for the conference?

I plan on spending a month in Davao and Cebu each. Can anyone recommend a place to say on a monthly basis? Basic and or small is ok. Clean is the biggest factor. I normally stay in Thailand with A/C, hot water, mini - bar and a pool. I have in much more basic places tho. I can give up amenities for an overall good "vibe". Any suggestions welcome.

We ate on Rizal St. last night and, as predicted in a prior post, the tuition ladies were out in force despite the pouring rain. There must have been 15 or 20 at Someplace Else and another clot across the alley at Red Bar. These are girls I've not seen before, and I don't think the were pros (semi maybe) but they were trolling for sure. The bars on Rizal St. itself also appeared to be hopping, though I only drove past them on the way home and could not really see inside. School starts again the week after next, so the deadline for the first tuition installment is imminent. This is an excellent week to make a trip here for those in the area.

Finally, for those looking for a clean, but inexpensive hotel, try Gallera, which is across the street from Davao Doctor's Hospital on Querino Ave. I'm told that it's quite acceptable, very clean, air conditioned, etc. and the rooms are less than PhP1,000. I have only seen the place from the outside, but I know a few folks who have stayed there and who were very satisfied.

The bar does not front on Rizal. It's adjacent to a small courtyard behind Claude's Restaurant and Chico's. If you're on Rizal, take the small path between Chico's and Claude's and you will wind up in a small courtyard. As is becoming ever more typical, it poured tonight here in Davao, on the eve of All Souls Day, which is a big deal here in the PI. However, regardless of the dreariness of the weather or the gravity of the holiday (when families celebrate by spending the night at the graves of relatives) I'm glad to say that the tuition mamas were out in full force. The Red Bat, Someplace Else, Swigs and Bar 183 were packed, and with reasonably dressed ,middle class ladies lookin ' for that small bit of "help" to make those tuition payments which are due on November 7 throughout Davao.

There's a public holiday here on Monday, Tuesday and again on Friday, all of which is a leisure-time run up to the start of the new semester. This is, for those contemplating trips here, a perfect time to arrive and to reap the benefits of imminent tuition payment deadlines.

I had not been to Paradise beach in almost a year, but yesterday, we decided to hook up with a couple of friends there and to go diving for an hour or so from the shore. It could have been because this was a holiday week end, or maybe it's like this every weekend, but the beach was packed. True, about half the crowd was comprised of familieis and kids, but the remaining half was about 60% single (or at least unaccompanied) women, many of them in skimpy bikinis. This may be a good place to meet women during the day. It's only a 10 PhP, ten minute boat ride from Davao, and boats leave throughout the day.

it appears likel,y that these soliders will be tried here, by a filipino court, and the case against them appears to be strong. this might serve as a warning of what could happen if things get out of hand. allegedly, the lady in question is a college student from zamboanga, and wwhether the sex was coercive or consensual, the case is dominating the news here. apparently, these guys did not quite grasp the concept of "no means no" and they are going to pay a price for the failure to comprehend..

Glad to be reminded of Paradise Island, a place I visit when in Davao. Usually take a group of friends; it's cheap enough to get in that I do not remember the price (I pick up the tab). We bring food but if you bring drinks, you pay a "corkage" on entry, so why bother with the drinks as they are available cheap enough there. My friends prepare Adobo and other foodstuffs and we have a great time. It is funny but they suggest leaving for there at 6:00 or 6:30 AM and departing the resort at 10:00 AM, before it gets "too hot"!

You can stay overnight in either a "fan room" or "AC room", I think it was P850/1,000 per night. I booked rooms for a bash in 2001 but got sick in Cebu and could not make it but my friends had a great time. Oh well, maybe next time.

Paradise Island is a nice change (and cheaper) than trekking to Eden Park or Philippine Eagle for a day's outing.

A small group of us went out last night to De Bonte Koe (Henny's Place) for dinner, and after some excellent steaks, two bottles of good Australian Cabernet, some Irish Coffees, Apple Pie and Port, decided to continue the evening elsehwere. Some Place Else, which is just next store, was packed, and I did notice two seriously good looking new hostesses. But we wanted to listen to music and so we went to the Blue Bar at the Apo View Hotel.

I had heard about this jazz bar several times, but had never been there, nor had my girlfriend. It was a pleasant surprise. The bar itself is very attractive, with top shelf liquors, excellentr frozen Margueritas, and a nice mix of jazz and pop played by a quartet with a vocalist.I'm told that the band changes about three times a week. There's a fair amount of audience participation in the singing and, though the place was mainly couiples or groups of couiples, there were some lovely loooking women. This is not a spot you would go with the objective of meeting someone, but it's not out of the question either, and it is just behind Liquid, which is also in the Apo View and which offers an excellent probability of meeting someone.

This is an upscale locale for Davao, and it's not cheap. It's well worth the price of the drinks though. My only complaint was that the bar closed about 1:30 which is too early for a real jazz haven. We will surely return there, and I would recommend it as a change of pace to anyone who gets somewhat tired of the usual scene.

I eventually found my way to this place, thanks for the directions guy's.
The place was busy, Outside was a group of local students smoking Shisha Pipes. I ventured inside and talked with some of the staff. They informed me that they could not be bar fined, but would accept a drink anyway.

I learned that the owner is a brit who spends much of his time away from philippines, but I think one of the girls must be his partner as she seems to have her finger on the pulse there.

The place itself is a bit like an english style tavern, but with a hint of the middle east hence the shisha. They also have a nice selection of real cuban cigars, not the cheap philippine variety. I was given one of the latter for free as I had apparently spent over php 1,000. Not really the kind of place for picking up girls as I had no luck with the staff. The food is good and the atmosphere was very friendly, you could certainly take a girl there and feel comfortable (no prying eyes and no questions asked). I later checked out the area around the Apo View. But thats another story.

Four of us went back to the Blue Room last night, and this time we stayed through all three sets, arriving at about 9:30 and closing the place up at 1:00. If anything, it was even more fun this week than last. The music is good. The band is accommodating and the crowd is friendly. The bill for the four of us for 3.5 hours was less than PhP2,500 and that included a hell of a lot of drinks. This is a great place to take a date. It is not a place to pick up women, though as with last week, I did notice two or three seriously fine looking ladies who appeared to be alone.

The crowd is a mix of well-to-do Filipinos and expatriates, but the Filipinos predominate. Given that the bar is located at the Apo View Hotel, and is almost contiguous to the bar called Liquid, I would guess it would be simple enough to pick someone up at Liquid and then mosey over to the Blue Room for a quieter, more relazing sort of night.

This has become our favorite bar in Davao.

I have been here a few days. Cannot remember when I was last on this Board. Work and Life back home keep me busy. I headed to O'Flanagan's as soon as I got situated in my President's Suite at Casa Leticia.

Latest Davao news: Fat Mike (michael) whom I made famous here back in July/Aug '04 got into a confrontation at a carendia bar in San Pedro a few weeks ago. He was beaten pretty bad by a few filipino thugs and arrested at the Hospital (go figure). He had to pay a P12,000 fine and is at home recuperating.

Ground Zero. the name I gave to the convenience store on the corner of J Camus and Illustre Sts.was the sight of the "Shootout at the OK Corral" a couple weeks ago. Some young punks wielding knives got into it and one punk pulled a gun. This Place probably should be avoided after 10:00PM from this point. I still enjoy a beer here in the early evening when the ladies from the Colleges, Offices and the Hospital across the street stop by. But it appears to be a place to be avoided later in the evening when the crowd deteriorates.

I had my usual Sunday evening dinner at Henny's De Bonte Koe Restaurant. Henny joined us at the Bar and later at our table. He was in good spirit and we will be back again tonight.

Had our traditionat Sunset Champagne Hour on the Terrace of our Suite. Bottle of J Schram '98 which was magnificent. To quote the character Archy McNally in the Lawrence Saunders Mystery novels baring his Name(Mc Nally's ____), "the guy who said money cannot buy happiness had no idea what he was talking about".

I was on Rizal Street last night and the Promenade. All was quiet and not a pussy was stirring, not even a pro. Perhaps due to it being early in the week.

You most likely have the same guy. Michael (fatmike) did have a ponytail at one time. I last saw him at O'Flanagan's in early May. Maurice says he is there only occasionally now. My guess is the lack of available women in O'Flanagan's is the reason. The 10% VAT Tax has taken its toll on the Phils. In a discourse with Maurice I learned that most establishments are hurting pretty bad since this began. I noticed a couple restaurants on the Rizal Esplanade have closed and Muarice said to expect more of this.

Davao is NOT a wealthy City and it depends greatly on Tourism and the Japanese,Taiwanese and Korean businessman for revenues. There are few ex-pats here and virtually none with any kind of real income. Most get by on SS or some small pension and those that work are on fixed salaries. I make a point to patronize my Friends establishments here (Maurice and Henny) as well as the other places I enjoy.

Places like the Corner Convenience Store (ground zero) and Rizal Promenade (after 10:00PM) do okay because the food and drinks are cheap and they have music and tables, allowing a place for the local filipinos to hangout. The overhead is small and they get by on tiny profits from beer and soft drink sales. Both these places tend to be crowded nightly. Rizal Promanade gets one hell of a crowd after 10:00PM when the live band plays. I doubt if the band gets more than a few hundred pesos but considers this better than nothing.

I like Dom Perignon also. I had a glass the Saturday before I departed on this last Trip. I will be back the end of this month to celebrate the New Year and Christmas season.

I was heading here for New Year's but got sidetracked. Off to another part of the world. I will Post here and there (geographical area) later. I was sick for ten days after returning home and did nothing but work, sleep and eat.

Feeling much better. Cold weather does not appeal to me. I will be back here in a few weeks as I intend to celebrate my birthday here as I did two years ago.

Had a wild time in So China this last Trip. Only three days there but it was one fucking, hell of a three days, to say it directly.

Diver 69, there must be gold bullion down there or mermaids giving blowjobs for you to spend all your time scuba diving when I was "three feet over my head" in chinese pussy in So China. I have gone solo on ALL my trips since the August '04 disaster. However, I could have used some help last November 29.

It was only me and two lovely, young, gorgeous chinese girls in a Private KTV Room. If you were there, we could have done like WWF Wrestling and "slapped hands" tag team style and switched off, fucking both of them.

As it was, I had to settle for the beautiful, 23 year old who "fucked me like a demon in heat". Really sorry about MIA back in Nov. I had just gone to Southern Leyte from Bohol when you called. I spent a few days in Bohol with a girl I met online and had been doing her when we were in the dive resort. She was getting a little too close, thinking she's my mate for life, so I left her off in Cebu when I went off to Southern Leyte by myself. I was gonna meet up with a girl from Maasin, but she went off to Manila. So I ended up spending three days in S. Leyte by myself (yes, scuba diving). Which was probably a good thing, because when I went back to Cebu, girl (from Bohol) was waiting and we bonked like crazy. Then it was off to Angeles for a day (not my type of town) and then to Manila for a few days (met 2 and stayed with one). Had a great time in Manila with the girl (met online) and still keep in touch with her.

Then it's off to ShenZhen to meet Oald Asia Hand and other mongers. had a great time there too.

Can;t wait for the next trip.

For those who are interested, I noticed a new club called "Hug Me" the other night on my way back home from De Bonte Koe restaurant. It's around the corner from Rizal and it was crowded. It looked fairly decent from the outside, but I did not go in and did not inquire further. The bar "Some Place Else" has established a large following recently, and it's hired more girls, two of whom are seriously cute. From the welcoming smiles and the body language, I'm about 99% certain they're available. My wife swears they are, but I've never actually known anyone who has been with one of them.

Most of the big (legitimate) clubs here are closed on New Year's Eve, so we've decided to have our own party at our house. Any of you guys who are planning to be down here on that date are welcome to come. Just send me a PM and I will send you the directions and other details. Should be crowded, reasonably boistrous and fun.

I'm still trying to determine why, on Christmas day, everything is open, including the malls, but on New Year's Eve, which should attract many patrons to the clubs, everything is closed. I guess that will remain one of the conundrums of this place. When I asked the management of the Blue Room if the place would be open, they looked at me as if I might be slightly insane to even ask such a question. I got the same, "Why are you even asking this question?" look from the manager of Chico's. The commercial mentality here is still under development.

GE, Christmas Day in the Philippines is a day for the family to go to church, then go out shopping/movie/dining, which is why malls are open that day. New Year's Eve - clubs are closed - is because of the custom & practice that you need to be at home (w/ the family) at the time of passage from the old to new year, plus shooting off fireworks. Hence, why clubs are closed.

I ate at De Bonte Koe last night and booked the table. As anticipated, the number of reservations in the better restaurants is increasing because of the ATF. Last night though, the crowds were sparse. I was surprised that, when we got to the Blue Room, the place was only half full. I had expected that it would have been packed.

I'm sitting here watching the Mayor on his weekly telecast and the journalist asked him what measures, if any, had been taken regarding the expected influx of sex workers for the AtF. The Mayor responded that it's a free country, and if people want to indulge, it's not the governments business. The word in the papers here is that hookers are congegating from all over the country for this event. I guess this is one of the economic consequences of the event.

I've been attending ATF for almost 20 years on now and I would say this about your remarks above:

1) "Freebies" will be there amoongst the delegates but, there will be many seasoned hunters out there and it goes like this:

a) first day and night, hunting delegates will be sussing out who is worth hunting and working out their targets etc and believe, me, many of the industry vets out there of higher rank use the opportunity to lean hard on their targets!

b) this goes on and the hunt has begun over the next few days but, most of the great lookers do also have huge responsibilities and while they have instructions to play hard, they also have huge targets to meet.

c) The most vulnerable are the pretty and sexy newbies ; usually juniors at the event but know that their seniors will be highly protective of them and the huge amount of sexual harassment they will undergo during the days of ATF will be enormous.

d) A few of the better lookers and smarter operator hunters in there will
have some success while the others will downgrade their expectations and move on to less attractive targets etc; the second liners of perhaps some of the "older crows" from yesteryears vying for attention.

e) Some of the smarter guys will stay with p4p and keep business and pleasure separate.

The even smarter guys will entertain their select client with great p4p; the best the locale has to offer and remain in the minds of their client for a long time.

2) On Invites to the Events and Parties of which there will always be some "sponsored late night fucntion" e.g. TTG night co-sponsored by TTG and a local large Hotel or night entertainment establishment.

Entry is always strictly by Delegate's badge or Invitation Cards or both.

Yes, various invitation cards are handed out, if you don't have a badge, make sure you have at least a card with you and walk in with someone who has a badge or you might get turned away in the earlier hours of these functions when security is tightest.

Yes, the convenience store and ground zero are one and the same. i don't know, but the slayer may have a point about the corner convenience store (ground zero). i was there tonight at about 11 to pick up some stuff on the way home form henny's. the place was full of young, reasonably cute girls in the 16-20 year old range. some of these ladies were obviously trolling for some interest. they were neither well-dressed, nor well-behaved, and they sure did not give the appearance of being students, but they were attractive and at least some of them were available. maybe this is the hour to go, or maybe it's because it's the week end or maybe it was just an anomaly.

I've spent many nights at the Apo View, but after dark I would never go past the hotel DS stays in on my walks, felt it was "too dangerous", LOL. Now I know better. Going left from the Apo and then right on Gen Malavar St (?), I would be approached by "the girls" (they disappeared on one trip, but were back on my last trip) on my way to and from Ilustre St, where JS Gaisano Mall is; always felt safe going that way.
The whole area is really quite safe, and I've never heard of an incident there involving any foreigners. Actually, the security guard at O'Flannigan's was stabbed to death a couple of months ago in a pretty bizarre incident, but this killing had nothing to do with the folks who hang around or in the convenience store.

The girls of whom Harvey Wb speaks usually make their "headquarters" at or near the bus stop down the street from the Gaisano Mall, and I guess they venture out a few meters in each direction when trolling for customers. I am going to the Blue Room tonight, which is right around the corner, and if I have a chance, and it's not too late, I may try to check it out again to see if last night was an abnormality.

I never did make it back to the convenience store last night, but to double check on my earlier findings, I did get back tonight to pick up some coke. I went at approximately the same time as before as a control measure, and the scene was not too bad. Got back a couple of days ago in a general fog that a Medellin-JFK-Dubai trip can induce. We ate last night at Henny's place, which for us is hardly unusual. One the way back though, we decided to stop at Karl's Koffee Korner for some desert and coffee. Karl's is located just outside the road to Ladislawa Village, next to a gas station, and you more or less have to know it's there. It can be reached only by car or public transportation and it's not the sort of place to attract walk-in customers. Therefore, you would not think it's a likely sort of place to meet women. You would be wrong.

When we arrived last night, almost all of the outdoor tables (which is most of the available seating) were taken, several of them by groups of three to four women. For those planning on coming to Davao next week, remember that Thursday is the Kidayawan (sp.?) Festival, which is the annual Davao fiesta, meaning parades, bands giving free street concerts, and a general aura of bacchanal. It also means that traffic in the center of town is a nightmare. All businesses are closed on Thursday for this uniquely Davao experience and hotels are likely to be fully booked. Rizal Street will be packed and closed to traffic. All of the restaurants will put tables and chairs on the street, and the city will set up a portable stage at the foot of the street near the Rizal Promenade.

I'm getting too old for all of this kind of excitement, and so I usually try to stay at home. For you younger, horny guys though, this could be an excellent evening.

It's about 90 km from the center of Davao, and the scenery is gorgeous the entire way. For those wishing to see something of the countryside and with access to a car, this is a good way to begin. The road is good the entire way and once you clear metropolitcan Davao, there's not much traffic.

The resort itself is an attractive, relaxing destination. There are multiple swiming pools, a waterfall (which requires a 700 meter hike, on an asphalt pathway that goes straight down and then, of course, straight up.) But, there are some nice plantings and very attractive scenery. There are also some guest cabins, but I did not see them.

Forget about finding women looking for guys at the resort. There aren't any, but if you've got someone with whom you want to spend the day, this is a nice way to spend it.

The info I got was from the Sunstar newspaper. It said that it all originated from Ladislawa village where one of the defendants lived. We went out last night to a restaurant on Quirino St. called La Toscana, owned by an Italian guy named Pierro and his Filipina wife. This place has been around for some time but for some reason I had never gotten around to eating there. Based on last night's meal, I can say that my failure to have frequented the restaurant before was a mistake. The pasta is excellent, the selection of Italian wines (by Davao standards) is broad, and the guy even grows his own Italian veggies at a farm he owns in Bukidnon. All in all, a nice experience and one I would recommend to all of you looking for an alternative eating venue in Davao.

I did step outside to have a cigarette twice during the meal, and each time was approached by a different lady boy. I actually was not positive that the second one was a guy, but the guard assured me this was the case, and he sees them every night. Apparently that section of Querino, which is slightly up the road from Davao Doctors Hospital is a gathering spot for the gender-challenged.

I've definitely gotta take the Dragon Slayer to this place when he gets back to town, and have him comment on the wines. I know little about Italian reds (he knows a lot)and so, aside from saying there were a lot of them, cannot comment on the quality. Pierro is from Firenze and so it's not surprising that most of his wines were Tuscan. Heavy on the Chiantis, but also an assortment of Merlots and Cabernet Sauvignons.

I think I'll go there tomorrow for a Salade Nicoise.

I have been putting off this Post. It was NOT a pleasant experience for either myself or my Pal, GoodEnough. But our (MY) readers need to hear about this. So here the fuck it is:

It started out as a great evening. The Champagne Sunset on the Terrace of the Presidential Suite. GE and I were drinking glasses of Taittinger Champagne and my two daughters were with us drinking mango juice. We were all watching the sunset. I had held my 6 y/o on the balcony so she could see over the cement terrace wall. GE told me "Slayer this is magnificent champagne but I have someting important to tell you". I sent the girls inside to play and they began dive bombing onto my bed from the ledge above.

GE went on about how he made a "rooky mistake" and gave some guy from this Board his cellphone number. He got a call just before arriving at my Hotel from "Freddy Kruger" saying he expected to stay at GE's residence. In additon, he expected to fuck some of GE's lady friends, including the wife of a friend living in Davao. If this guy had brains a tenth the size of his balls he would be a fucking genius. I asked the obvious questions, "do you know this guy at all"? and "you don't plan on meeting this cocksucker do you"?

Turns out GE knows the guy like I know the Roswell N.M. visitors from outer space. He had no idea the guy existed till a few days before. I did not think of it again and assumed (right!) that I would not hear further on this creature. Was I EVER fucking wrong!

We were celebrating a pre Valentine's dinner at Henny's. My two girsl decided they wanted to stay in the Suite and have room service and watch tv. This created the matter of a Babysitter. I offered to pay P200/hr plus a P200 bonus but the front desk assured me they could get no one. GE even tried but could do no better than I. The Hotel said they would have someone check on the girls (age 6&7) regularly and the guard and Bellboys at the lobby would be informed to keep them from leaving the Hotel.

This did not go good with me. My girls promised me they would not go out and my woman seemed to think this was enough. In the lobby, GE and I met the young owner of the Hotel, Ray Jr. He greeted me like an old friend. I introduced him to GE and he asked about our evening plans (little did we know it would be the "Nightmare on Rizal Street"). Upon heqaring our predicament he offered to personally babysit the girls in our Suite, along with his girlfriend. So off we went together with our beautiful, young women.

Henny was in fine spirits (for now) when we arrived. We started with a bottle of Australian red at the Bar. It was then that GE told me the extent of the "rooky mistake". I almost screamed outloud, "don't tell me you invited this asshole here"? He replied softly, "I did". I then said that I better depart, to which GE replied, No, I need you hear to make certain this guy doesn't cause any trouble". My woman heard this and whispered to me, "Honey please let's go now". But we had just opened the bottle of red and I was just having my first sip of the good wine. So, I chose to stay. Sort of like buying a last minute plane ticket to New Orleans the day before Katrina hit.

Right fuck in the middle of dinner walks in this very, very, very creepy looking guy. About 5'8" and 165#. Wearing the latest "back packers' look". He found GE like a moth spots light in the night. He sat down and GE very reluctantly introduced all of us to this ghoul. My woman squeezed my hand tight and again whispered that she wanted to leave. "Freddy Kruger", not being shy, helped himself to a glass of our wine.

RIght then I knew this would ONLY go from Bad to Terrible.

As this guy sat down at our table the waitress asked him if he wanted to order. He replied, No. He then scrutinized both of our women with a look that said they were what he had in mind for his "meal". My woman was squeezing my right hand as if she was about to be dragged into some dark abyss. This guy had a lecherous look on his face that made even me a bit uncomfortable. Sort of the look of someone who has been locked up for five years and, now free, is about to sample not only his first pussy, but beautiful, young pussy.

He starts to tell GE how he wants an introduction to this married lady friend of GE's. I hear GE tell him, "No, she would not be interested". Hell, I think the hookers in Davao would pass on this guy, let alone an educated, affluent, happily married woman and mother. I do not even kow how Creepy here even heard about this lady. Not from the Slayer as I limit my conversations with detritous to zero. GE turns his back on this guy and his body language tells it all. He wants nothing to do with this cocksucker and wishes in the worst way that he would just leave.

The situation then becomes dangerous. I have been watching this guy in the manner of a "Believer witnessing the Apocalypse". We are all eating steak dinners and Henny supplies razor sharp, steak knives with six inch blades and wooden handles to make slicing a VERY EASY TASK. The guy picks up GE's knife while GE has his back to the fool. It is then that I realize who this guy reminds me of: Freddy Kruger of "Nightmare on Elm Street" fame. Same relative body size, hatchet thin face and ghoulish leer. My woman's hand in mine is sweating profusely and I can feel her begin to tremble with fear. I know what is next so I remove my right hand from hers and drop both hands under the table out of view of Freddy.

Freddy runs his left hand along the blade of the kniFe as he holds it up in his right hand. He then lowers it a bit in the manner of someone getting ready to thrust. Now where the fuck would the knife go? He would have to get up and move across the table to stab the Slayer. And both my reach and size make this an undesirable choice. Both women are out of range and GE's Lady has lowered herself down to the point where she is almost below the table top. Not much of a target there. But GE has his back to this guy and is acting like he is doing some serious mediatation or chanting some native spell to get ward off evil spirits.

I have to say and do something. Otherwise we might be loading body bags tonight rather than "doggy bags ".

I have scooped up my own steak knife and transferred it to my left hand. I learned long ago how to use both hands in combat but I need my right, business hand for what is to come. I tell Freddy Kruger, "if you don't mind you are making me uncomfortable holding that knife like that. Please put it down." He replies "from what I have heard about you, I would not think you would be uncomfortable now". GE still has his back to the guy and appears to be eyeing the exit (not a bad idea). I glance to my right and his woman has also taken hold of one of the knives. It is becoming a real horror show.

ENOUGH. I stand and tell Freddy, "put the fucking knife down, NOW! I have the knife in my left hand pointed at his heart. My woman lets out a soft cry and i tell her to go get henny and have him call the Police. Freddy puts the .knife down with a reluctant look like he is letting go of a "favorite toy" he has not had a chance to play with yet. GE then gets up and moves from the table, motioning Freddy to get up also.

I go to where my woman is talking with Henny. I inform Henny of Freddy's actions and how the situation is in "Crisis Stage 4". He gets me into his office and says, "I will handle this guy now". I go towards the table and Henny has removed Freddy from the Restaurant. The knife is no longer in freddy's possession and GE's woman has gathered up all the knives and placed them on the chair beside her. She looks ready to cry. My woman just says she wants to leave.

It appears that GE is outside and for some unknown reason talking with Freddy Kruger. Freddy, I later learn, is reluctant to leave and certainly not without scoring some pussy, either one of the waitresses, GE's married friend or one of our women. Then, he finally leaves as Henny watches him like a parnoid store keeper watching a kleptomaniac.

GE comes inside and says, "the fucking guy just would not get it. I kept telling him if he went back inside the Dragon Slayer was going to kill him. The best he could hope for was spending his Davao Trip in jail or the morgue."

GE and I drank several more glasses of wine and I said "GE I am really getting too old for this. Now we have fucking Horror Movie Creatures coming here. We could have been killed tonight. My woman then starts to tell me, after the fact, that I overreacted. I replied, "okay, Miss After the Storm Politician, should I have sat there and waited to see what Freddy planned to do with the knife he was pointing at us"? It might have been a little late to do something then.

GE's woman makes an unbelievably credible statement saying, "Babe, I was scared of that guy. I don't like you inviting these guys here to Davao". AMEN.

In any event Maurice acted like I invited these men to Davao even though I have no idea who they are.

Don't remember the name of the place, but it is a place worth going to...just don't invite DS or GE! They might pull a knive on you.

My first visit to Davao, I contacted a friend whom I met online. He suggested we meet at Bonte whatever, which is Henny's place, a guy who happens to have a nice haircut and is a master diver. Divers would want to go here...anyone who likes good food would also. Bald guys would feel right at home.

My friend introduced to me to some of his lady friends. I'm sure I gave all a lecherous look, but I never expected a one night stand, nor did I get angry, nor did I have any unpleasantries with anyone I met at Davao. Wow, since when did a look of appreciation mean "I WANT TO FK YOUR WOMAN" as DS has alleged in a previous post.

OH, wait...I did have unpleasantries with some people at Asian Spirit...and the streetwalker who stated her "rules" when she got into my room. And a taxi driver who suddenly had a family emergency halfway beteween the airport and my hotel.

I made it to Henny's with my backbacker attire....had no choice since my baggage was still in Cebu. I expected a bar, but It's really a nice (but casual) restaurant. Met my friend and had hoped to pick his brain about Davao, Unfortunately, he was busy helping someone dowload music on the Internet or some other thing, so I was left with friends of friends.... I guess I wasn't the Freddy Kreuger type since I was actually left alone with the friends. So there I was chatting with a middle-aged woman about our common profession, which I won't elaborate upon. Not complaining...the people were very interesting and I enjoyed their company. I was also introduced to others, including single ladies, none of whom I took to my bed. For the record, I didn't get angry about this and I didn't complain.

I don't have any humorous or dangerous stories to tell. But one thing I remember very clearly is I asked my WSG friend in Davao, "What should I say when people ask us how we met."

The answer was, "Don't worry about that. They would never ask that."

But of course it was asked....

Some guys took my Posts the wrong way. In any event, I have NOT met anyone new from this Board or anywhere else since July 31, 2004. I have posted about the guy I met then. It was enough for me.

X MAN; I do not know the name on this Board or the real name of the guy we met last February at Henny's (De Bonte Koe Restaurant). I do not know you but GE does and it was NOT you, of course. I did not think anyone would consider himself to be this guy. He was a "one of a kind" guy. As to if I overreacted, you were NOT there. The important thing is that in the end, none of us got physically injured. He did manage to fuck up our evening dinner though.

At the Davao Int'l Airport and on the flight to Cebu the next day I had to listen to my daughter's mother, who agress with you, on my handling of it. Funny how during the entire incident she had none of her "advice", only an intense desire to leave in the middle of our steak dinners. Freddy, knife in hand, was between US and the exit. I would have had to pass by him to depart and, in any event, the little prick was not getting me( I know he did not want my woman to leave) out of my evening dinner.

Again, I told her to have Henny call the Police rather than try my luck in a knife fight with Freddy. Henny handled the matter. The other guests (place was full, unfortunately), of course, knew what occurred but no one got up and left. Nor did anyone complain as to my reaction to the incident or Henny's removal of Freddy. I am sure they were also a bit shaken but continued their dinners.

No need to insult me anymore than what I have to deal with here. At least I have not received any more PM's (yet) threatening me with violence like I got from the guy from July 2004. All those PM's got forwarded.

Cebu Local: I do not understand how you thought we referred to you on this matter. There are many decent, good guys on this Board. I get PM's from them all the time and I do provide assistance to them when requested. Several asked me to Post photos of some of the ladies I met. I knew I should never have made that Freddy Kruger Post. For five weeks now I had a bad feeling in my left testicle whenever I considered writing that long Report.

Freddy is now a virtual celebrity here. If he does return to Davao, he will most likely be doing tv spots, autograph signings and sell replice "Freddy Knives". I can't blame GE. I mean who the Fuck would think he was this weird? Like I said I never had an experience like this before. The "where is your house, so I can drop my things off there now?" cellphone comment to GE gave some indication he was "different" but not into flashing carving knives at a restaurant dinner table.

I plan on returning to Cebu in four weeks, via Hong Kong, unless I go to the UK for a week first. In Cebu I frequent Silver Dollar in the early evening. I might change Hotels as the one I stay at there did some renovating and doubled their prices to pay for it ( the actual rooms are all unchanged).

I will fly to Davao after a day or two in Cebu. I may try the Executive Suites at Marco Polo this Trip. Not sure but after the dream of Freddy climbing over the balcony into my Room at Casa leticia, it may be a good idea.

X Man, you have a point. Henny needs to switch to one inch, thin blade steak knives. May take a bit longer to carve your meat but better than having someone, perhaps a psycho lady, using the six inch knives to carve your other "meat" via a "Wayne Bobbick" (remember him?).

I was wondering when this board was going to alight on fire again. The FK incident is just another chapter to this board, which is the most interesting story on ISG.

Strictly speaking, this is a public sharing event so if DS seeks not to deal with mongerers / people he doesnt know when in Davao he should just email chat with his friends and not post here. It might be the wise choice for his personal safety. I must say he has matured considerably and his tone on this board much improved with less mudslinging and the like.

I hope he doesnt take my advice because his writting style, personality and drama makes reading this board 10x more interesting than any other board on WSG and my life more interesting. Thanks for that. Let's call you our hero for lack of a better word.

As previously stated on this board, I stayed the hell away from all brothers in arms when I spent five weeks or so in the Phil in 2001...

I did meet this one guy on an overnight old boat trip from Bay Bay, Leyete to Cebu as I couldnt escape the only air conditioned room. I was immediately was taken back by his sarcastic and disrespectful demeanor which stands in huge contrast to the respect one gets in the Phil from the folk there, especially in the province.

I suggest FK went to Davao to confront our hero DS, knowing exactly what type of person he is from reading his posts here.

His modus operandi was classic psychotic and well planned but not dangerous. He knew that GE was the key to DS and he succeeded in getting to DS and causing the exact reaction from DS he had expected. FK likes negative attention.

FK is with us now if we like it or not on this board. Yes there are others here who are waiting for a stab at our hero because he is vulnerable - why would anyone with that much bravado - full of Irish [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) and vinegar - something I am full of when I am drunk, too - post information herein that acts as a GPS on his whereabouts.

As for me, I wear my shit grin smile and give the brothers the pretend I dont exist look if in the Phil and keep busy between the sheets.

I was hoping we were done with this. I asked GE last Feb 13 when he told me of his new friend, Freddie, if he knew I was here. He replied, "Hell no, I would NEVER mention you. If he thought you were here now, he would want your autograph". It is also a time of year whe rarely travel but I had misssed both my little girls birthdays and wanted to have some fun.

My DS moniker was NEVER brought up during the "meet" at Henny's. I keep this private. Diver 69 and Spam Hogs and GoodEnough are ALL friends here and in real life. None of us want our involvement with WSG made a public item though it is fun to Post and we enjoy being Members of WSG.

GE told me last February that Freddie is one of the lurkers, not into posting but looking for every opportunity to freeload or make money. GE mentioned how Freddie, after being tossed like a salad from Henny's Restaurant (by Henny) that eventful evening, returned a couple days later trying to make money selling generic viagra, etc to Henny, I assume for distribution. He does not deter easily.

This is Not exactly a public Board, as you are suposed to join WSG to Post here. My Posting and my desire NOT to meet other members are my business. I made this decision in Aug 2004. I travel to Asia to relax from the everyday life in business in USA, see my two little girls and to have fun. Davao is one my hangouts (another is in China but I do not mention it) for the last ten years.

YOUR REMARKS ABOUT MY PUBLIC SAFETY SOUND LIKE A THREAT. Last guy here that threated me was in early 2005 around this time. I skipped replying and forwarded his numerous PM's. I did go looking for him but he made himself scarce then. Myabe I will have better luck with my Nephew next Trip, the 6'5, 220# ex Special Forces guy, now a young NYPD Officer.

Sad that my Report on what occurred last February should generate such a response. You need to get YOUR ACT together guy. Talking about me maturing? I do not go threatening other members here. I sincerly regret having made the Freddie Post (parts 1-3). It fuels the minds of some here who have little else to think about and Put in their opinions ONLY when it involves insulting others. Last Aug 2004 we had a long, two page, one sentence (YES ONE SENTENCE OVER TWO PAGES) Post from one such guy. GE read it and asked me to do the reply. I never did. I will shortly as he keeps putting in his "nothing positive to say" comments whenever controversy appears.
