I don't know why this occurs in my head. Maybe its my midwest upbringing.

I am bemused by this discussion.
As a long-standing disciple of biological science and particularly evolutionary biology, I am at a loss to even begin to understand what possible evolutionary pressures could have accrued to the 3 groups that Gangles identified in his post as having "different sized penis muscles" (Asians (incidentally, this is a HUGE group); Caucasians and Black Americans). I am trying to imagine which group is best advantaged by these extraordinary physiological adaptations.

Just returned home from my trip to Manila, The land of Malls. And I do love it.
I must have visited at least 15 or so Malls. From 1 floor up to 5 floors of sparkling new and modern malls. Mall of Asia, Megamall, Star mall, Greenbelt, Glorietta, St. Frances, just to name a few.
I did enjoy them all. My DIA girl and her sister were trying to find chinatown (neither of them know to much of Manila outside their neighborhood) , we ended up at Tutuban center a Mall of Imitation

Now you're talking. If what you want is sopping wet but not too tight, which is my preference as well, then I recommend MBC. Lower taxes less government intervention and regulation than the USA Yet none are countries that you mentioned. Taxes in these European countries are notoriously high. Granted Norway has a high standard of living, also the cost of living in Norway is 90% higher than the USA Norway is also a welfare state which is fine when your a country of 5 million people with tons of resources but this is socialism not Individual Wealth Building. 30% of Norway jobs are government 22% of their people are on complete welfare and another 13% is on disability that's the highest in the world. These are not people who are striving to build wealth. This is a small country with the population of a major city that have government controlled resourse's "wealth" and a mix of socialism and free market. Good luck trying to become wealthy in Norway. The U. S has 308 million CONSUMERS. We're buying goods made on the cheap from China and the rest of the world. Japan has the second largest amount of millionaires which is half of what the U. S has.

There are many airline are offering fare to Manila from US for around 1000 USD form now to DEC 10, during the Holiday and summer air fare go up to 1500 USD round trip but that can change if Fuel price go up.

Taking your numbers and dividing by each country's population puts these countries in a very different order. Based on your numbers and comparative population numbers, the U. K. Has 465 millionaires per 10, 000 population. Canada is close behind at 464. Rank orders three through six are Japan, Germany, Italy, and France. The USA comes in number seven at 337 millionaires per 10, 000 population. Of the ten you list only Taiwan, Spain and China have fewer millionaires per capita than the USA It is likely there are other small population countries that rank in the top ten when an index is calculated, rather than merely the raw number of millionaires.

I would gently point out that there's a flaw in the logic of your numbers. The probability of hitting millionaire status needs to factor in the population of each country. Taking your numbers and dividing by each country's population puts these countries in a very different order. Based on your numbers and comparative population numbers, the U. K. Has 465 millionaires per 10, 000 population. Canada is close behind at 464. Rank orders three through six are Japan, Germany, Italy, and France. The USA comes in number seven at 337 millionaires per 10, 000 population. Of the ten you list only Taiwan, Spain and China have fewer millionaires per capita than the USA It is likely there are other small population countries that rank in the top ten when an index is calculated, rather than merely the raw number of millionaires.I would also point out regardless of the number of millionaires locations, the US is still the biggest Consumer country in the world. I think we can both agree that wealth is being made by selling goods and services to Americans. I completely disagree that becoming a millionaire has anything to do with population numbers. Their are over a billion people in that country with no middle class to speak about, Extreme government regulation and intervention and list of other things you and I both can name that makes China unfavorable. China is great if one is in the government or apart of the business elite (that is part of the government) but for the average Chinese they will NEVER be wealthy.

HWBought my Jan ticket from SFO to MNL last month, $1220 including fees, Cathay.
Just love the atmosphere. I can sit there endlessly, consuming beer after beer and chatting to all the honey, it almost beats the sex act. Every evening begins and ends there well into the next day after some knocking about in Manila all night long. Add to this, being a foody, which is splendid to date, the lovely waitresses look after 'Daddy' with such love and care, just love them to bits. Montana is spectacular! As an avid mountaineer, I thinks its one of the best states for a holiday. Glacier National Park, a good sidetrip to the Yellowstone.
STotally late and totally off topic but one summer years ago I walked the route of the Salmon River. Was spectular indeed. I also loved the scenery on Montana. I think my original point was that for Pinay used to Manila life and malls etc, Billings Montana would seem like a big come down.

I've had similar experience with a Filipina who screamed a lot, made me worry about the people in the next room, says she is falling in love, wants to have my baby, etc. Funny thing is I don't think it is an act. When leaving the main exit, turn straight left and walk to the small booth with the sign above, saying "metered taxis". Or something like that.
They will give you a note with the licens plate number of the taxi you get into, together with a telephone number to call if there is anything to complaint about after the ride.
Same thing happens when you get a taxi outside malls and hotels.

Try the street in Ermita called Remidios, the part of it connecting Remidios Circle and Roxas Blvd.
There you will find Padi's Point, which style-wise reminds of Cowboy Grill. But is slightly better IMO.
It's on your right hand when going from Circle towards Roxas, just opposite the small park.
I have seen Padi's Point described as a pick up spot, but never experienced anything of that kind of activity myself the few times I was there.
In the same street, left hand side just after Circle, you will find two disco clubs. Socialista and Insomnia.
Especially Socialista is every night litterally stuffed with very young and very very adorable local female, dancing and admiring themselves in the mirrors on the walls.
As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that many of them actually is very VERY young. Read "off-limits".

There are two kinds of taxis at the airport. One is white and one is yellow. The white taxis and fixed price. Go to the ticket counter, tell your destination, and they will issue you a ticket. Example from Manila airport to Makati, the white taxis will cost you about 450 Pesos.
The yellow taxis are metered. But the lines are usually long. If you don't mind waiting up to 30 minutes in the line for a taxi, then meterd is the way to go. I have taken it many times, and have never ever been cheated. The same trip to Makati will cost about 280 to 350 Pesos with tips.
One thing to say about the taxi drivers. They barely make money. Most don't own the taxis they drive. They pay for the gas, and rent the taxi. So, they have to do a certain number of pickups a day to breakeven. I usually tip about 50 Pesos, on top of the fare. Decent thing to do.
My experience with taxi drivers has been 100% good. I know Manila pretty well now, so always know if they are taking a roundabout route.

I would fill less safe in Costa Rica, Columbia or in New York. Honestly from my impression and frequent travels it is not that bad.

Ok here's another report of a weekend of excess in Manila.
As always. 2 weeks out, I have 10-12 possibles, one week out I know who are the ones I want. I always aim for a mix of new ones and repeats. Sometimes repeats get better and better, sometime I should have realised that once was enough. A few days out, send the hot prospects several texts, emails, phone calls etc so I'm sure that they are super interested and guaranted to show.

I have taken taxis in San jose, Costa rica and NY. NY. Never a problem. Now london england they are honest and opinionated. But I have had a few in manila that just get on my wrong side. He agreed, but made sure he switched off meter as I did not want him to say meter says 1 million peso U must pay meter, like some other prick tried once. Manila cabbies are just as fucked as wanker Arabs in Egypt. Have a rough idea what you should pay and be on guard.

That said I concur I have not experienced any problems with taking a taxi in the manila metro area, I even rented a taxi for a day for 50 bucks to take my lady friend to tagaytay. That being said taxis are extremely inexpensive way to travel in the phils and its the only way I travel. Try catching a cab in Los Angeles (if you can find a cab in Los Angeles) or New York then lets talk about who's getting ripped off.

I have been somewhat of a regular visitor to Jools (couple of times each year or once every 6 months) over the past 14 years that I have lived in the PI, and I always have a great time there and enjoy the show. By going at such a 6 monthly interval I usually get to see a "new" routine with new costumes.
I went again last night early for the first show at 10 pm with a plan to leave around 12 and go to a nearby sports bar.
The "new" show (new choreography) was so good that I stayed for the 11, 12, 1 and 2 am shows and forgot about the sports bar.
Shows are on the hour from 10 until 2. There was a new "Cats" segment last night and it was sensational. So much energy, and the showgirls really put a lot into it.
For those who have never been to Jools, there is no entrance fee, nobody is pushy for drinks including the GROs and the waitresses and the current group of showgirls are hot hot hot. You can buy them a drink between shows too if they are willing to come out from the dressing room for you.
My visit has renewed my interest in going back again fairly soon. It is back to the quality it used to have around 2001.

Where were you and Red Kilt a couple of years ago when I had a long protracted disagreement with someone about Jools? His claim was that the bar sucked. I countered that it had good shows. The key is to not rent anything until you have seen it. Most of these sites will ask you to send a huge, nonrefundable deposit to reserve the apartment. So the way to do it is rent a hotel for the short term then schedule appointments to view several of the places you find before you decide. Rule number 1 in Manila never pay for anthing before you have verified the facts and inspected the goods!

I recall that from 1997 until around 2003 it was brilliant but then there was a very lean period in the mid 204 to 2009 where it seemed to be closed quite often and the show disappeared for a while too. There were few GROs and the dancers were sparse so I gave up going there until I was told late last year that the show was BACK.
I can vouch for that as I said in my raver post. Jools was great last Friday night.
One of the showgirls told me that they have a new choreographer ("male" like previous ones) , and the new guy has great ideas and heaps of energy. I saw him when I was there on Friday and he has big shoulders so he might have enough testosterone to actually be a male.

I never said it will cure in one day and just only said what I have used and about 50 or so people have used when the same symptoms.
FYI: Most of the doctors here will give you the long term antibiotic which will work but a long time. The doctors read about symptoms also online or in reference books. There is nothing wrong with getting tested either.
Again please read carefully what I said and if you quote me please quote me correct. Everybody deals with things different and I am sure if the OP did not want some home remedies he would have went to a doctor anyways.

Had to spend a day and a night in MNL because of a cancelled flight. Live in AC and it's been a while since having a run in Manila. Went out early to Amazonia, caught a buzz and took a ST home. If you get caught, it's going to be either a stiff prison sentence or a huge bribe.
If you want to experiment, go to Cambodia, or maybe to Laos. Hang out in the backpacker area; the hard drugs will be easy to find. The hard drugs are still illegal, but it's easily available. You still need to be smart, but the drug sellers seems to be protected. Note that the police will still demand a bribe if you are caught with hard drugs.
Also note that you need to be very careful; people die every year from overdoses. From what I hear, you might get heroin instead of cocaine, and then you can easily OD. Also, the purity might be higher than what the user is accustomed to.

Highly recommend that normal tourists should not attempt to buy hard drugs in the Philippines, especially from someone you can't trust. If you get caught, it's going to be either a stiff prison sentence or a huge bribe.
If you want to experiment, go to Cambodia, or maybe to Laos. Hang out in the backpacker area; the hard drugs will be easy to find. The hard drugs are still illegal, but it's easily available. Opium is available in both Laos and Cambodia but you would want to be super careful. Best to buy it from a local in the countryside who smokes it as part of his daily routine. They grow it themselves and they are not part of the narco-market as such. Anyone who touches heroin in SE Asia is looking for trouble. Easier for the dealer to hand you over as a trophy for the cops than to deal with some other shit that comes his way (payoff to the cops etc).
Anyone who tries Jaba (metamphetamine, aka Ice etc) would have to be really insane. Or soon will be anyway. It messes up your brain from the first puff. Easier ways of messing up your life or committing suicide.

The hotel is Intecontinental Hotel and it's located in Makati. The club is called Icon and it's in the Intercontinental Hotel. It's only open on certain days of the week. Booked a room at city state hotel. A great location and recommended to anyone for convenience. Its a stones throw away from a dozen good bars like g. Point, duck`inn, hussy, and many KTV places.
I met some Belgians at the bar in Duck inn. Man these guys really know how to party. We went bar hopping and had buckets of beer, bottles of hard alcohol and trays of shots delivered to the table. My plane touched down in Manila on a rainy Friday afternoon in early November, my first trip back to the Philippines since my first visit in 2009. I only had one night in Manila before heading to Puerto Galera-Sabang the following day, and I wanted to make the most of it by reprising some of the places I tried last time but also sampling some new ones. The taxi dropped me off in Ermita, where I checked into the Amazonia hotel. This was a last minute decision I made in order to be close to the City State Hotel, where I would catch the Si-Kat bus to Batangas for the Sabang ferry the next morning, but more importantly to be within walking distance of Manila Bay Cafe. For a notorious short time hotel the Amazonia had a nice guest-house feel to it, though at 1, 250 pesos it wasn't tremendous value given the small, almost shabby room (though very clean). As soon as I set my bags down I set out again, catching a taxi to Quezon City and its massage parlors.

The priest who ran the out reach program told us that in the streets around the hall where he and volunteers worked, there was literally one murder a night. He said the police were very slow to respond to Tondo murders as it was a regular event and nothing to get worked up about. A white man in Tondo. I wouldn't give much for his chances.

I am making my way to Cebu City for an extended stay, but have been in Manila for the past 2 weeks. I have a sweet 18 year old honey who lives in Caloocan City- Monumento. I stayed there for 5 days and was amazed at the hordes of filipinos with no foreigners around. In fact during my 5 night stay I never saw one foreigner the entire time. I had 2 free nights so ventured out to see what was available. The location is the Puregold on Samson street. There are 2 short day hotels across the street.
One is called Nice Hotel, the other is Astro Hotel. This is where the action is at night time only. On two nights I was able to secure a 18 year old and a 19 year old for 1, 000 Pesos short time. Both girls were great for GFE, and neither had a foreigner before. Just wanted to put this out there.

I should mention that I am 50ish, don't dance well and tend to dress in Hawaiian shirts and shorts when being a tourist, have a camera dangling from my neck and a Lonely Planet guide in my back pocket. Actually, I don't own a hawaiian shirt, but not far off the stereotype.
My fantasy for this trip is to have an ST experience with young (read 19-20ish) attractive girl friend like companion and then a LT experience with another equally young and attractive girl. I guess my expectations are a little high if I expect to get off the plane and immediately have a qualifying lady recognize my inner beauty and greet me with an offer to help me achieve my fantasy, so I plan on doing my homework with the help of ISG.
Reading through recent posts, skipping over those ones about legalized weed (its illegal in my state) , I see I am confronted with a raft of decisions to make; Do I target Manila or Angeles? Makati vs. Ermita (MBC) vs EDSA EC vs. Shopping malls (Robinsons or Mall of Asia or Hooters etc.) and NOT NOT Tondo. Do I seek professional bar girls (and bar fines) vs. Freelancers (no bf but possibility of runners). Do I stay in a hotel near my targeted area (ie. Copacabana or Heritage near EDSA, or Bejaya or Oxford Suites or Eurotel in Makati or Pan Pacific in Ermita. Anyway, you get the idea that there are many alternatives I need to consider and it's somewhat bewildering. Where is the Dummy's Guide to Mongering in the Philippines when I need it?
I actually have decided to confine my activities to Manila and save AC for another visit to Phil's, so that's one decision made.

1) How much is the present Bar fine charges at NANA ENTERTAIMENT PLAZA, How much is the ST and LT.

So is Las Palmas better? I am also consider to try that one. In the past, I stay In Kimberly but they are charging me a rate of almost the same as Heritage so I decided not to stay there this time. I have seen that Las Palmas is also closer to the rest. So I will try it if it is better than Eurotel. Eurotel is charging me P1910 per night with less 10%.
I also hope to try to get into those go-go bar but as I wonder if the prices is quite high, as I havde seen so many Japanese client visiting those bars. Any recomendation?

I actually have decided to confine my activities to Manila and save AC for another visit to Phil's, so that's one decision made.

ThanksIn 3 days you can do a fair bit. I would have a night out barhoping in Makati on Burgos (be warned this could set you back few hundred dollars especally if you barfine) , and a night in EDSA / MBC. I would also visit MBC and the bars around the area + robinson mall during the afternoon. You will find that girls from other areas would travel to Makati while it may be more dificult to presuade a burgos girl to go to malate with you for an allnighter. Since your time is short and you are new to the game you should read up on MBC, EDSA and Burgos which should be enough. Go with bar girls for the all nighter (but make sure you negotiate the time she leaves in advance) while you can take the freelancer short time mainly due to safety reasons (freelancers are more likely to steal from you). If I was you I would forget the Berjaya and look at Oxford or Makati Palace as a base. For short time fun from MBC you can always go accross the road to the insomnia hotel and pay short time room rental.
Be careful with cameras hanging around your neck especially in malate.

I am traveling to Hong Kong on business in February so I decided to take a 3 day side trip to the Philippines and do some mongering and perhaps sight seeing (in that order).IP,
I think the first thing to understand is that 3 days will barely scratch the surface. So don't try to spread yourself out too thin and instead of trying to see everything, concentrate on one area and have a good time. A punter's first trip to the PI is usually never his last so you will see the other areas you miss on subsequent trips. My point is I think you will enjoy yourself wherever you choose to go, but not knowing your tastes, preferences and financial situation, it is impossible to say what is best for you. Each area is very different and distinctive: 1. Makati (Burgos) .2. MBC & EDSA Complex, or 3. AC.
Arriving for the first time in the Philippines from a wealthy and safe city like Hong Kong, Makati may be your best first choice. Downtown Makati is very upscale and safe. Burgos St is only a block and half from this downtown area. There are plenty of good bars there to satisfy a 3 night trip. Havana Cafe is another excellent place to find some very pretty Filipinas in Makati and there are a lot of restaurant choices in the Greenbelt Malls. The only downside is Burgos Street is expensive compared to the rest of your possible choices, but Havana is pretty reasonable. MBC and the area around it is like another universe. You will find the prices are much cheaper at MBC, but quality varies, and the neighborhood is the pits. Do not walk around here with a big SLR camera strapped around your neck, meaning you will be OK as long as you stay aware of things and take taxis at night. EDSA can be a lot of fun and they are close enough to each other that you can combine MBC and EDSA in a 3 night trip. Just get to EDSA early for the best choices. As to AC, well AC is AC. The town or let's say the strip – Fields and Perimeter, because that is all you will probably see is pretty funky honky tonk, but I and thousands of other punters dig it. There are more bars than Burgos St and EDSA combined and they vary from show palaces to small friendly hangouts. It is too bad you don't have 6 nights, because then I would recommend 3 nights in Manila and 3 nights in AC. By the way, Fields is safe and there is a decent variety of hotels to suit any budget. Also there are direct flights from Hong Kong to Clark which makes AC very convenient for a 3 night getaway. See SeAir (Tiger Airways) and Cebu Pacific.
So keep reading the forum and pick whichever destination seems to suit you best.

I should mention that I am 50ish, don't dance well and tend to dress in Hawaiian shirts and shorts when being a tourist, have a camera dangling from my neck and a Lonely Planet guide in my back pocket. Actually, I don't own a hawaiian shirt, but not far off the stereotype.Mmmmm I'm going to say that's exactly the opposite of what the culture expects of you. They don't wear shorts often in public (shy culture) , and they look down upon exactly the thing you are bringing: the hawaiian-beach-bum look. Wear long pants (jeans are fine) , no flip-flops (leather sandals or tennis shoes are fine) , and a decent shirt (something that tucks in). Loose that camera, any bling, and the 'tourist' guide in your back pocket (don't make a target of yourself for pickpockets).
My fantasy for this trip is to have an ST experience with young (read 19-20ish) attractive girl friend like companion and then a LT experience with another equally young and attractive girl. I guess my expectations are a little high if I expect to get off the plane and immediately have a qualifying lady recognize my inner beauty and greet me with an offer to help me achieve my fantasy, so I plan on doing my homework with the help of ISG.It's a nice fantasy. I am making my way to Cebu City for an extended stay, but have been in Manila for the past 2 weeks. I have a sweet 18 year old honey who lives in Caloocan City- Monumento. I stayed there for 5 days and was amazed at the hordes of filipinos with no foreigners around. In fact during my 5 night stay I never saw one foreigner the entire time. I had 2 free nights so ventured out to see what was available. The location is the Puregold on Samson street. There are 2 short day hotels across the street.
One is called Nice Hotel, the other is Astro Hotel. This is where the action is at night time only. On two nights I was able to secure a 18 year old and a 19 year old for 1, 000 Pesos short time. Both girls were great for GFE, and neither had a foreigner before. Just wanted to put this out there.NOW THIS IS GREAT POST. Can we get some intel on other areas that have a street scene / bar scene. Thanks Mc Don, I have enjoyed reading your many detailed field reports. To answer BKK's question, it is about 250 pesos cab ride from Malate to Monumento. However there is a newer hotel on the other side of the short term hotels called Kabayan. They have a single pad room with a promo price of 865 P, but charge an extra 500 P for a guest and they strictly enforce that policy. The bed is quite small or you get a standard room with the promo price of 1860 P and there is no charge for visitors. Breakfast is included for both.
One of the girls I took out did not want to go to my hotel, she did not feel comfortable leaving her short term hotel routine. Like I said in my previous post, there are no foreigners there and she was slightly nervous so I forked out the additional money and took her to her normal short term hotel. The other girl had no problem coming to my hotel which is only a 3 minute walk.

Try on Del Pilar, just off the corner of Padre Faura, towards United Nations, is a bar with the name HUSSIES on the door, right next to an Indonesian bakery. Barfine place, p1500, the girls all promise to stay until 9am the next morning, even if you take them out in the late afternoon. Small place, only about 10-15 girls working at any one time. if you have got nothing to lose (that is, you don't mind if you get into a spot of trouble with the locals) , you can scout around carriedo or monumento but you need a heap of "game" for that.

i hope newbies reading these posts of places outside of the usual haunts (makati, edsa, mbc etc) don't think they are similar. the guys who have been to these out-of-the -ordinary places know what they are doing.

try it if you want, but don't be surprised if it doesn't go as you hoped and as cs and levdog said it did for them.

Starting at about 10 at night after the Quiapo market has finished for the day, the selection varies from night to night but is sometimes pretty good.My pinay took me over to Quiapo for some shopping. We hit a McDo in a small mall on a corner, then were walking back up the street past the LRT. It started raining like crazy and the taxis were ignoring us, so we just kept walking. It was about 1pm, early afternoon. My girl pointed out the various young girls standing around doing nothing, staring at me as we went by, as hookers."They are a cheap. Many disease. Too sick to bargirl even." Eventually we stopped at a vendor and looked at some cheap jewelry, and I wandered off to another vendor nearby, losing my girl for a moment. Three young girls started giving me the Tijuana SW "psst!" When I looked over at them, one said,"Hey. 500 all day. One thousand two girl all day." My pinay grabbed my arm and hustled me up the street. Am pretty sure the one who was talking was 14 or 15, and the others were 16-18. We walked several more minutes until we finally got a taxi. We probably passed 40 girls like this, hanging in the business entrances.

i would not say it is that dangerous. i get pestered and i often feel more threatened walking down mabini or del pilar in ermita than i ever did in carriedo. mind you, i used to go to carriedo with filipino friends and it is definitely wise to have a wingman or two to watch one another's backs.
you have to watch out for **** kids on the game up there. i am told that it is the proximity of chinatown but i wouldn't know about the veracity of that. if you have any doubts, it would be best to leave well alone or take out from one of the many bars and discos around the area, where you can be fairly sure that they are legal.
diseased? probably! you certainly would not want to bareback one of these street girls but then i would say the same about any mbc girl. might have been lucky but i did a lot of mongering in these sort of places (i used to get a vicarious thrill from high risk punting – there is nothing to beat that adrenaline, alcohol and testosterone kick) and never came away with anything more than a red horse hangover.
i have not been to carriedo in over two years so any cp no's, if i had them, would be probably useless.

Ok so we have Monumento and Carriedo.
In Tondo the action is around Bonifacio Dr which is the continuation of Roxas Bul. I have seen streetwalkers and what appears as bars near the piers / dooks. Last time, couple of years ago I paid 300 peso for short time, but I took her to malate. This was off the street and I never left the car, it was like a movie scene. Gave her 100 peso tip. Girl was good, english was bad but who cares LOL.
Any other areas? I am sure there is plenty because everyone seems to live local in manila, they all know their town or suburb and not have a clue about anywhere else. Does anyone have info on Ortegas? Metrowalk, Decades Disco Bar, Eastwood Libis there are lots of cool places around there discos, restourants I am sure there is a hot spot around there. Also what about Alabang? I love the area, last time I spend few hours with a girl there so I had no time to scout for action can anyone point me in the right direction there? It's a cool upmarket town like makati, easy to walk with lots of nice people. Lots of IT call centre jobs there so I am sure there must be a some sort of nightlife around there too. Where is the best action in QC? I am talking street action, forget pegasus and the other mp. What part of Quezon Ave or has it all moved to Timog? I haven't been to qc for years.
Red Kilt is right about warning newbees. Stick to the main areas, there is plenty there. I guess I am a bit more like the CS I get a kick from places like this. Damn I still miss Geylang in sing.
