And surely, I'm not the only person to get scammed in over five years in PH, there are many, they just do not write it.

If you read my earlier reports, I had only positive things to say about PH and now the perception has changed. That is what I'm writing. I thought with little john more than my mind, over the years, I got kinda bored with f*ucking filipinas and wanted a change and could see what I was fu*cking really. I looked around and wanted a better quality and realized they don't want anything to deal with me unless I pay over the standard price and some more.

You also have to consider, I wasn't getting laid enough back home, I lost my virginity around 27. Whatever I got in PH was heaven, but once, I had plenty in PH. I got kinda bored with same standard. I wanted a change and when I went for it. The reality stuck me. What I really was f*cking all these years were low-life rejects, ghettos trash that no Filipino would fuuck for free. That is the reality which is hard to digest and I'm coming to terms with it now. As this is the maximum level that is been offered to me. I couldn't go any further than this in PH.

Who cares about few pesos gone here and there. Its not like they would build an empire with it and with that I would fuuck some more. I would work for some months and get the money back. I consider "smart" as in inventing some cure for the sick or some spiritual genius who found the way to peace on earth.

Not two cents scammer, who take advantage of you when you are most vulnerable. They are not smart. They are low-life bottom feeding filth that could not even been called as human beings.

I don't understand why are you angry with my TR? You think I'm getting paid to write negative experiences I had in PH. If you read my past 3 years reports, I only had positive things to say about PH? I have met Frenzy several times. He is friendly, helpful and truthful. Please be polite to him. He contributes alot of great information and is a tremendous asset here, especially on Cebu.

Frenzy saw what a hard time I was having in Cebu back in May 2012 and contacted me to help. I think you ought to eaze up on him, you jealous of what he has going there? In a way I am sitting here in Japan, but you have to admit he has built something most men dream about.Have to agree, F3 was most helpful when I visited. BMBM. If you mean native speakers you would have to ignore the Yanks and Aussies. But American English, as a good Englishman knows, does not exist. It is English bastardised by the Yanks to a level where they clearly cannot spell. Poor quality always shows through in spelling.

I am making my first trip to Manila in a few months. I read back 15 or so pages and still have some questions.

For background, I am a 26 year old white American. Enjoy going out at night and dancing and drinking. Don't plan on paying for any sex. Beeing inspired by F3 love nest in Cebu I have growing a need to establish / or try to build myself something simular. I have no idea who F3 are but F3 offered me (a relatively new ISG guy. Not a mongerer) to give me his advice ig I would arrive in Cebu. As for now it looks I will travel Manila around 25'th of Nov. I debated about writing this report or not, my experience was fairly typical and doesn't really offer new info that you can't find elsewhere. But I said, what the heck, I'm sure others are also tired of reading about PI medical exams, condo rentals, taxi prices or reading arguments on this thread :P haha.

Arrived at MNL and went straight to the Heritage Hotel. After getting set up in the hotel, I told a 50php taxi ride across the street to EDSA. Went in and out of several bars, buying a drink in each and staying long enough to finish the drink. I must say, Tuesday nights are dead in these places. Ended up going to Firehouse, which had a good selection of girls. Bought 2 girls girly drinks, BF the cute one, I think (can't remember) I paid 1850 bar fine. Took my temporay GF across the street in the taxi, this time, didn't ask and paid the 'set price' of 150php. Walked in hotel, register the girl with front desk, and off to my room.

We shared a shower where she washed me from head to toe, got in bed and BBBJ and BBCG, put on a glove to finish and off to the shower again. Made out GFE for another 30 mins after and I almost fell asleep from being so tired. She wanted to leave and I didn't argue, I didn't have the energy to go another around anyway and wanted to sleep without having to have one eye open. Paid her 3000php (I know, high) and that was it.

Days leading up to Christmas are good with many of the bars having Christmas parties.

Christmas day and days after Christmas are quiet as many girls head to the province to visit their families.

There are more and more reasonably priced hotels springing up around Burgos where hotels are cheap and girls are expensive. I find www.asiarooms.com The best and use the google maps to determine how far the hotel is from Burgos street. Malate is the other main area with MBC being the main bar attraction in that area.

An option is:

1. Party in the bars leading up to Christmas.

2. Head to the resorts in the provinces for Christmas and after with your favourite girl (s)

For 2 above, you can take a girl from the bar or do the leg work before you leave home to find girls on DIA or Tagged that are interested in travelling with you to the resorts in the provinces

Malate is the other main area with MBC being the main bar attraction in that area.At risk of nit-picking, MBC is in Ermita, not Malate. I've noticed that even long-time expats sometimes refer to the area as Malate. The dividing line between Ermita and Malate is Pedro Gil Avenue, a short distance south of MBC. The only reason it makes a difference is that hotel searches through Agoda and other commercial sites sometimes group hotels according to district. A hotel shown as being in Ermita is more likely to be near MBC. A number of Malate hotels are within easy walking distance of MBC, but other Malate hotels are located a substantial distance to the south. Malate is generally a little less seamy than Ermita-fewer beggars, cleaner bars, better restaurants, and so on. For movie fanatics, it's also where the roof-top chase scenes of the Bourne Legacy were filmed, as well as a few of the market scenes. The area around Remedios Circle also has a number of live music dance clubs, the kind of places where you take a woman to impress her, but not so good for picking up women, except for those with a lot more game than I have.

I always stay at Cherry Blossom hotel when I visit Ermita. Rooms are in the neighborhood of $60 a night. And very girl friendly. Its right next to Robinson's Mall, so you are steps away from plenty of shopping and a Burger King.

It ain't Mount Pilot, Raleigh or even Charlotte. Metro Manila is a megalopolis consisting of at least 15 different cities and 16 million people. Quite often there's no such thing a short cab ride, even for just a one mile trip. That one mile trip can take 30 minutes. Makati to Malate or Ermita can take 90 minutes at times. Perhaps you meant Malate / Ermita. You have yourself going in circles with all of the places you want to see. If you're only going to be in town for two weeks or less, focus on one or two areas, learn from your first trip and then focus on one or two other areas for your next trip.

Any hotel in your price range in Manila is girl friendly. That should be the least of your worries. Also check out Rothman Hotel. Malate / Ermita is where I'd start. Plenty of cheap hotels, bars, etc. Caution though, if you're alone it can be a very seedy area at night so walk at your own risk. Don't hesitate to ask for help here on this board. You will only be better prepared for your first trip.What about the subway / metro? Does it run at night?

Seems my plan of going to all these places is not to optimal due to logistical issues.

I agree that Filipinos develop tastes for the oddest of concoctions as you and X describe. They don't really need any help from the French or the Dutch: just consider what goes into halo-halo. But maybe we shouldn't be in a hurry for them to accommodate the healthier tastes of what passes for food in Western countries.In my experience, Filipinos have the most unhealthy eating habits that I have ever encountered in any nationality except perhaps the Scottish (it's sadly true about the deep fried Mars bars). This might account for the abnormally high incidence of high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease in The Philippines. The number of times that I have stood behind women doing their weekly shop in SM or Pure Gold and watched them unload packets of instant noodles, canned processed meats or sardines and biscuits with nary a vegetable in sight. Fatty pork is by far the most popular meat and popular dishes such as adobo, sisig and kare kare give me chest pains just looking at them. And they probably eat more crisps (chips) than the Americans including chicharons which are deep fried pork skins. Delicious and like British pork scratchings on steroids, they are instant artery cloggers.

And then of course there is Jollibee's and other fast food outlets.

What about the subway / metro? Does it run at night?

Seems my plan of going to all these places is not to optimal due to logistical issues.

Tell me I can get from Makati to Quezon City in 120 minutes atleast? I can't even hardly justify spending 4 hours of a day / night in a fucking cab. I can live with a 1 hour cab ride.

Also beings it takes so long, does that make cabs expensive?

I guess I need to hammer down a concrete plan for my time here. Ie Go ahead and plan which clubs I want to hit on each night I will be in Manila. Then figure out where to stay based on my itinerary.The trick to making Manila bearable to get around is to pick your time for travel. Never travel by any form of transport between 6am and 9. 30am and between 4pm and 7pm, except perhaps the Skyway from Makati to NAIA (Manila airport). Don't even think about getting on the LRT / MRT / PNR (local rail, skytrain) at these times. In fact, it is not generally a good idea for foreigners to travel on public transport at all. Take a cab. And don't travel around lunch times.

Stay away from the Manila roads on the week before Christmas. Also, avoid travel during the Friday of a pay day week (15th and 30th of every month) as people head for the provinces on those Fridays.

Otherwise, during the day a cab from Makati to Malate / Ermita will take up to an hour, less during weekend / night. Quezon City is always a pain. But I have made it in about 1 hour, perhaps 90 minutes if you are really unlucky.

Cabs are not expensive, even when you get one in Ermita / Malate who wants to travel without a meter and hit you up for a higher price. All cabs appreciate a tip and tips become mandatory during bad weather. I never pay more than about 150 pesos for a trip from Makati to Ermita / Malate. I always give the guy a tip as it has got to be a tough way to make a living.

Done a lot of work lately as in arriving in Manila tomorrow and building myself a fleet of regulars in this city as well. I was earlier talking about building myself a harem with girls living in an apt bought / rented by me. As for some fellow ISG`s members and their statements regarding this matter I feel I leave the idea for now as you guys and the professional real estate manager (whome I talked to a great deal) told me not to commence with my idea. As it would attract to much attention and the most joy I would get from it was to pay off cops a redicilous high ammount of bribes. Neighbours would go crazy and report 5-6 girls living together in a new apt building with me occationaly visit them. Would look to much as a pimp / girls on a payrole situation.

But as I have contacted a lot of girls upfront my trip from BKK to MNL tomorrow I will sure take advantage of this and meet quite a few of them. I got nearly 100 interests and mails from girls through various dating sites for wanting them to stay in my apartment (as stated above). They are all in age range from 19. 27 and without kids (atleast so they state).

I have made doublebookings for my days in MNL and I will go hard when it comes to fucking. All the girls claims not beeing professionals and they have not asked for anything. GEI would hardly get into your dispute but I can not find the article but beeing read it stated that Philippines wealth are devided amongst 2-3% of the population meaning there are a few influencial families out there owning the hole damn country. They could easily find themself a new country and buy it but will not move until reality arrives and the corrupted has to stand down from their throwns facing jailtime etc. There will come times in the future where countries ex North Korea have to fight corruption atleast its populations will eventually say: enough is enough and riots and rebelment will take place. For some reasons good but have the avarage phil person enough ballast to know what is good for him / her as we speak? Much as in Thailand people seem not very interested in politics. They don't watch much documenteries from abroad to see how other countries work out. Norway (my country) stand out as a country free for corruption even if we have wealth in big time. But people here are well educated and can see through if someone is trying to make shortcuts and media (not run by government. But free press) will take down anyone trying to make a bribe small or big. I have no clue how phils are working but do they consider they have a free press or are all media houses run by a couple of the wealthy families?

Eventualy, maby not in my lifetime, North Korea as well will have their battles. But as long as China and Russia dont do anything about this retarded governmental leadership(as they want stability in their neighbourhood - china in particular) hardly US would follow up on South Korean retaliations when NK have shot at yet another marine wessel from SK..

Inactive Duty in the US armed forces is usually synonymous with Individual Ready Reserve which only means that you have completed any active duty contractual obligation (for school loan repayment, cash signing bonuses, GI Bill etc) ; after discharge from active duty you have a set period of time (typically 4 years) during which time your name will stay on a roster ready for recall so that if a war breaks out Uncle Sam will have more bodies to pull into the grinder before a draft is implemented. Most people in this status do not really consider themselves "on duty", of any sort. Many former soldiers, marines etc do not read the fine print (or forget) and do not even realize they can be recalled or that they are "on duty".

After 30 years of living and visiting I know some fabulous Filipino guys. But groups out at night can and possibly will be. The guy who is now dead can attest to that.

The guys who ocassionally are foolish enough to try to take on a trike driver in Angeles one on one, will no doubt wish they had known it was one vs 10.

Point being that for some groups, foreign males can be fair game.

And yes, same in Aus, and UK and US. Only there it will be because you are another guy. In Philippines it will probably be because you are a different skin colour, and a whole lot of resentment and jealousy comes to the surface for the way their women love us more.

Its just amazingly sad that a guy who acted stupid / drunk gets knifed to death for the slightest of problems, by some really nice fellows.

The only thing can bee a hazzle here is if the victim was US diplomat. Then I guess the US foreign ministry/defence ministry would like a word with how this youngsters are beeing treated according to rather close relations between the 2 countries. But as for now I believe it is so corruption can revolve around its own momentum.

Not long time ago we had this grandson of the founder / owner of the RedBull company in Thailand. He was influated by cocaine running down and killed one cop in his Ferrari. Soon the family stated it was one servant driving the car. Investigation and vitnesses revealed this as a big lie as they recognised the guy. It was a bit hazzle for the family at one point and the story got even into international press before the family had the time to pay media / cops and others off. From my journalist friend this case is no almost closed so she thinks everyone has been paid off and the servants family many million BHT`s as so he can take the grandsons sentence.

This could not work in Norway. The more rich and powerful you are the more punishment you get not only penaltywice but in social stigma as well.

SB is correct, and Skogis, this is a long way from Norway, or from anytihng remotely resembling a Western system of justice. It's a common perceptual mistake to assume that since everyone here speaks a modicum of English, and since this purports to be a "Christian" country, it's more or less like the US or Western Europe. Many people never see beneath the very thin patina of English and Catholicism, and thus don't realize that this is a 3rd world, opaque oligarchy in which money and connections trump the pretense of justice and fair play every single time. If you need further substantiation of this point, look at the case of the Ampatuans, who gunned down more than 50 people more than three years ago in the middle of their fief in Maguindanao, and who haven't come close to coming to trial, and in the meanwhile, witnesses keep "disappearing," never to be seen again. Look at the fact that here in Mindanao, every major politicians maintains his (or her) own private army and that the newish president-despite his pre-election commitment to disbanding them-hasn't even made a move in this direction. Despite his publicly acclaimed denunciation of corruption, note that it's business as usual here, and that no one yet has been tried-much less convicted-of corruption since he took office. Yes, it's true that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court was convicted of impeachment, but so what? There were no criminal penalties involved, and no attempt to recover whatever was stolen.

As SB has stated, we are guests here, and as such, it pays to keep one's head down and to fly under the radar. As a guest, you have the choice of accepting the way things are and enjoying a relatively nice life, or existing in a state of constant turmoil railing against the way things are. For the most part, I prefer the former, and if from time to time I use this forum to vent, it's a healthy outlet as I would never think of venting outside the context of an anonymous Internet site.

Despite what I've said above, the economy of the country is doing relatively well: it's growing at an annual clip of about 6%, the amount of hard currency flowing in from overseas Filipinos is staggering and growing; the call center business is booming; and foreign donors (who seem to actually believe the president's rhetoric and appear unconcerned about actual performance) are pouring money into the place for development projects.

Plus ça change, plus que la même chose (the more things change the more they stay the same) may be the fact on the ground, but the international perception seems to be that things are moving here in a positive direction.

Arrived back from Phils into BKK. After a DIA run in Manila I have to say I give this 5 on the 1. 10 scale.

Upon arrival I did have a lot of girls wanting to see me. Many of them did not, as expected, show up. Well the post you refering to is my pretrip Manila report I guess. As it turned out, if you read my posttrip report, I just gave the scammers (age, looks) some pisos (between 200 - 500php I don't mention any figures but I am sure I did not give them any blue 1000 bills). The reason for giving scammers some compensation seems odd to me sitting back in safe Norway thinking about it. I guess I just wanted to have an easy exit and don't have someone (if they have some co workers nearby) hurting me when I exit the mall (maby a bit paranoide but this I have been adviced to do from people knowing Manila in and out) Except from the 2 realy poor girls which I did a sharity run with as I felt by heart I should, I did not pay the last 4 anything (I fucked 2 of them). They refused me to cover anything (litterarly) except wine and dine but that I do back in Norway as well so fine by me. So if they were freelancers they did not get much business from me, hehe. 2 of them(not fuck) I want to meet again as they were stunners..

I know the route how to get there, and he drove it correctly. Quickly. The meter said about 10 kilometers. And the final cost: 1200 pesos. Took my bag out, and went to hotel. Asked the gal at the front desk."No sir. Taxi from airport should have cost 300 to 500p at most. Did you get the driver's license? Did you keep that receipt which was given to you?"

Lesson learned,

You need to ignore the security guards there who try to block you into getting a taxi.This is only worthwhile if you are traveling light without heavy luggage. Seems also that locals have the same idea. When I arrived at T3 other night I was only had light bags so to avoid the taxi mafia and overpriced yellow cabs, I popped up the escalator to Departures. There I found a longer queue than at Arrivals all being marshaled by a security guard. Despite being late, there were lots of taxis coming through and the queue moved fast and within 5 minutes I was in a taxi and away. The driver had no problem with turning on his meter and surprisingly didn't ask for fare + 50 (or 100) like they usually do. Even with a generous tip, the trip was less than half of what I would have paid had I stayed at arrivals.

This is only worthwhile if you are traveling light without heavy luggage. Seems also that locals have the same idea. When I arrived at T3 other night I was only had light bags so to avoid the taxi mafia and overpriced yellow cabs, I popped up the escalator to Departures. There I found a longer queue than at Arrivals all being marshaled by a security guard. Despite being late, there were lots of taxis coming through and the queue moved fast and within 5 minutes I was in a taxi and away. The driver had no problem with turning on his meter and surprisingly didn't ask for fare + 50 (or 100) like they usually do. Even with a generous tip, the trip was less than half of what I would have paid had I stayed at arrivals.

I agree about T3. Have done this but only when I have had hand luggage. The elevators are easy to find and head for the gate furthest away from the check in (Gate 6 I think)

Piling on about taxi's in Manila. In the last week I was in Makati, two taxi's had "broken" meters. Once going From the airport, and once To the airport. Kinda hard to get out with my bags in the trunk. I settled for about 300p, seems they are determined to get that coupon rate.

At terminal 3, there are 2 big boards with the coupon rates for points in Manila, and even to the nearby provinces. If I see it again I will try to take a nice pic and post it or list the fares.

OK. As said, arrived Manila and immediately upon arrival to Manila scammed by taxi driver. Thinking back, how on Earth could I have fallen for that? Must have been jet lag. Can't think of anything else.

2) Your success will depend on how early you start prior to arrival and what you're looking for. If you only want 18-23 year-old beauties there's a lot of competition for their attention, and some guys are very good at enticing them with their looks, money, trips, gifts and the like.

Getting a budget together for a first visit to manilla. I am a long time friend of joe from long beach. Not once have I had an issue bringing "guests" back to my hotel. Usually, I will stay at either New World, Dusit Thani, or Marriot.

As for me, I've had success with freebies at the club below New World Hotel, The Fort, Spicy Fingers in Greenbelt3, Republiq in Resort World, the casino in Resort World, and believe it or not, the Havana Cafe.

In my opinion / experience, Republiq is where you should go to find college age stunners. I've had a lot of success there, although it can be a bit expensive (600p entrance fee plus drinks). I already wrote if you are going to do the nightclub scene then think local stay local. 3 days Makati. 3 days QC. 3 days Malate / Pasay with 3 days in AC is perfect and make sure you hang around there. Your best bet would be to invest a few hours on a dating site. I also stayed there a number of days durring the lobby remodel and was surprised at how over staffed the hotel was. I remember counting 16 employees outside before you even enter the hotel.

Service was good and they had my roomed cleaned up within minutes whenever I called.

The only negative is the additional 750P they charge per day for internet.

GLas Pinas is quite lame but from some restaurants you can pick up waitresses after work and many of them go to Padi's Point in Alabang near StarMall. I have had even sometimes asked by some waitresses in TGI Fridays (Alabang Town Center) to go with them after work.

There is though few places along the main road, but I would really go example to Sucat road area.
