Hi All,

Subic City is the place to go when in the Subic Bay area. It's about 8-10 bars at any given time with girls dancing, etc.. waiting for you to choose them for the night. Most speak passable english. You need to take the blue Jeepney from Olongapo for about 7 miles to Subic City. I would recommend hooking up with another american or hire a private jeepney to take you up there. Try not to go too late. Get your girl for the night from any of the bars and take her to your hotel room. Barfine shouldn't be more than 900 pesos ($18 US). You could also take the girls for a "short time". Short times are usually one hour or so. Most girls don't watch the clock. Short times run about 500 pesos ($10).

Email me for any questions regarding having a good time in the Philippines. my email is: vkolas@usinter.net

Take care!

I'm adding this post to Subic Bay since there is only a limited amount of info on this site about SB and someone may want to add a comment on the Karaoke bar I visited...

"I was also in Subic Bay. This was a little strange. I stayed in a converted officers hotel in the duty free zone. Across the street was a Karaoke Bar. A was a little drunk when I wondered into the place after spending a few hours in a local casino so I may not be entirely clear on the details. The Karaoke Bar had individual rooms and, for about US$100.00, you could take a girl into one of the rooms and "sing" with her. After speaking with the hostess for a while, I had a difficult time understanding what exactly I was getting. Besides that, US$100.00 is about $160.00 Canadian and pretty steep for PI. I'm also aware that there are a lot of wacky Japanese tourists around that might just be paying a c-note to sing karaoke with a local girl so there was the chance I'd spend 100 bucks to sing Happy, Happy Talk (if you've seen "South Pacific" you should be laughing hysterically by now).
I also called up the hotel massage service and once again was mystified. Either she didn't catch my hints or there really wasn't any extra service. We had a long conversation about sex which turned into a long conversation about sex.
Fortunately, I now have the WSG as a source of information before I go poking about in unfamiliar territory. Gotta find out about that karaoke place..."

I spent a couple days in Subic during my last trip. I stayed at the Blue Rock Resort in Baloy Beach. Baloy beach is next to Barrio Barretta and is a private area. The resort was average by western standards but upscale for this area in the PI. The place is owned and managed by an Australian group and they try to make each guest feel comfortable - even a Yank like myself. One of the owners has a lot of ties with the AC scene so he gets most of his guest from there. I stayed in their newest room at 2200p per night. It was a bit pricey but much better than any other hotel in the area with the exception of the White Rock Resort down the road.

Not much of a girl scene in Subic Bay. There are about 6 gogo-style bars in Subic. There was the same number of bars in Barretta but no dancing girls.

I did make a few trips to Olongapo to do shopping. I was very impressed how clean the city was. People were nice and I found many great bargains. There are zero girlie bars in Olongapo.

This will be my last report for this forum. I am retiring my monger shoes for awhile. I enjoyed my time here but I need to start concentrating on life beyond my pecker. I wanted to say thanks to Jackson for providing this board. I've met some pretty cool dudes here and have forged some strong friendships from it.

Adios!

Please re-read the first post in this topic which is true. I was in Subic City in 1999. It's about 5 or 8 miles from Subic Bay.

There were several places with naked girls dancing. I went into one place, and became attracted to a girl dancing naked. I wanted to take her into her room in the back of the bar and do "it." The woman owner made me pay 1000 pesos ($20) for 3 hours, but it should have been half that price. They tried to tell me my time was up after only 2 hours, and also, the girl still had to dance about every 30 minutes even during my time with her. Also, a Filipino man asked me to take a shower and to leave my wallet in the room. I declined to leave my wallet in the room. I've had about 15 attempts at theft during a 2 year period. 2 were successful.

Later I went across the street and found a woman who I could have had all night with, including the little room in back, for only 500 pesos ($10).

There's about a dozen bars there for foreigners - and some Filipino bars that I suggest you stay away from.

Muff Divers seems to be the one with the most girls (a few 8's the rest 5's).

There's a bar called Proud Mary (It's a few doors down from Muff Divers, I understand the name has changed now) that had a 20 year old, (an 8) nude dancer that came up to me, after her dance number, (I was sitting on the 2nd floor balcony sipping a cold San Miguel and watching the street and the show at the same time. Oh yeah, picture this, her old aunt was trying to sell me some chinese good luck wall hanging while this girl worked me) and proceeded to put her moves on me-

"You like my dancing?" she asks. While she pulls her bikini down and looks expectantly at me. "I smiled and asked if she wanted me to feel her pussy?" Since she was still sweating from her dance and there was no AC.

"No, but you can if you want to do that as you give me a tip, it's OK".

I'm a little bit mistified but thought 'What the hell" and pulled out a P20 and gave it to her. She quickly took it, and rolled it up, and inserted it in her pussy.

So for the next 1/2 hour I proceeded to buy her and myself a few drinks and periodically I 'tipped" her in her wet pussy (my fingers were nice and wet and smelled good as her Auntie continued to try and sell me her wall hanging). Seemed strange but everyone on the street could see us up there on the balcony-

"Gotta love the PI!".

I left there and decided to take a nice 19 year (an 9) old I met across the street later- Took her back to my room (at the Blue Water Resort) and she gave me a good BBBJ and worked her pussy hard, and seemed to really enjoy for a couple of doggie fucks (nite & morning) as she told me how much she wanted me to come back (same ole story we all get- huh?!).

Looking forward to my next trip. :b

I was in Subic recently and endorse StrmLtng's report. Things change slowly in PI! An English guy has taken over the running of Crow Bar from his girl friend (who is ex-Crow Bar). Great bloke with plans to upgrade the standard of the girls and service. Seems very aware of health/STD issues - unlike most of the bars in Subic.

I also have good things to say about crow-bar. The girls in there were nice and friendly. These bars in subic are much more chilled out than the AC scene - which was refreshing.

Someone posted about filipino bars and not to go in them. DON'T! As I made this mistake, and went into Georgetown where the ladies drinks and regular drinks were outrageous (although im sure the locals in there were'nt paying these prices), and to cap it all off, the girls we encountered were less than enthusiastic - we were out of there in half an hour.

There is also a bar in Barryo Baretta, accross from Barts Place (Hotel) and beside johannsons. Its a curiousity in that the girls all play pool, backgammon, connect 4, etc. with the customers. I found this refreshing and its a great ice breaker and avoids the usual barrage of initial questions.

In Muff Divers, they are more oriented towards ladies drinks and will try and extract these from you by offering massage immediately upon your arrival (albeit that they do it very well). This is still a good bar nevertheless.

In Elton Rons, you will find 4 gorgeous sisters all working at the same place - they are all cuties - two of them are identical twins!

I was in Subic in early January. I too was warned not to frequent the Filipino bars but that was only after I had been in all of them. The one I had the most fun in was Luna's. It is a run down place but everyone there was very nice to me.

the area is not the best and the new area with a better quality of customers is barrio baretto which is a short ride by trike heading tword olongapo. after getting off the base in subic or what they all call the free port you will be in olongapo city. take a fue minutes ride to baretto or a nice but busy area on the water is baloy beach. there are not many places on the beach to rent gals but there is lots of action to be had in the bars. one place is bluerock, and it has a floating bar. there are gals available on the floating bar to see you through a lonely night if you want.

there are lots of bars and in a better area in baretto. this is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the beach depending where you are on the 3/4 mile streach. you can hit some of the bars and find what you are looking for, food western union, drugg stores anything you want.the bars close at 2am some before that, and even 1-2 after that depending on the amount of customers inside.

this is a very busy area in the summer months and do not be surprised if tou here music playing somewhere all hours before daylight.

this is a fun area with no trouble to speek of.many foreigners live here from other countries and people are easy and helpful there as a rule.

Saw a few girls at harley's Bar and Pub, but so not know if they are players or not. Anybody ever been with one of the girls from Harleys? The few times I have been there it was only to watch soccer with some of the Europeans I know in the area. Most of the time I head to Blue Rock or Mangos.

WOW!! Things have really changed since the USN pulled out (no pun intended ha-ha)!

When I was there, there was a girly bar on every corner and quite a few in between, too. The rest of the main street was short time hotels.

Busted my monger cherry in Olongapo, and a fine memory it is. Sorry to hear the scene has deteriorated so badly. Oh well.. onward and upward!

Cheers!

Excuse me, how is it the normal use for the price here?

Like in Angeles, where it needs to pay only barfine (tip is eventually up to the customer), or like in MNL, where it needs barfine+money for the girls?

And how much is it the price-structure for barfine and eventually girl-payment?

Thanks!

The tip bu the locals is all inclusive if you ask them.Ifeel that the gal gets a tip for service. The prices are the same as angeles city 1.2 1000 per b-fine.There are good prices to be had in the area on hotels and places to eat.The best part noe is the place is dead.No foreigners there so all the gal will be happy 2 see you.

There are lots around and I was there one week ago.I will be back again in a day or two.

Subic City(Calapandayan) has changed alot over the last 2 years, imho to its detriment. Many of the bars are now owned by Philippinos and the motos seemed to have formed a cartel. My old favourites like Crow Bar weren't open when I was there a few weeks ago. The Asian Reef and Winchester Club seemed liked the only sensible places to go, otherwise the other joints were Philippino, except of course for Kinky's which never changes. I found that after about 11pm the moto drivers charged very high prices to Baloy/Baretto and stop the jeepneys from picking up passengers.

The Oriental Rose in Baretto is firing on all cylinders, with stage girls. Some good looking girls who are fun for a conversation, a game of cards and a root in the ST room attached to the bar - cost me Pesos 1,000 for 2 girls.

Plenty of cheap flights from Cebu to Mnl (Cebu Pacific, etc) or to Clarke. Then take a taxi or Victory Liner from Dau (if you fly into Clarke) or Passay (if you fly into Mnl). Alternatively, take a Superferry from Cebu to Mnl, then Victory Liner or taxi to Subic. If you take the Victory Liner you'll probably need to change in Olongapo, which is straightforward.

Regarding transport of a car from Subic to Cebu, I would suggest driving to Mnl, then taking the car with you on a Superferry to Cebu.

St there a ferry that goes Manila-Subic and its website / email / flight schedule if anyone knows.

I'm thinking of going straight to Subic from Manila, then AC, then fly to Cebu from Clarke, then back to Manila from Cebu.

I've never been to Subic before, will be my virgin trip but want to take my gf somewhere nice. We went to Boracay last trip.

We went to Boracay last trip.A comfortable ferry service runs between the Cultural Centre in Mnl and Orion (Bataan) several times each day in both directions in less than an hour. Once you get to Orion, you'll need transport to Subic. There is a firm (forget the name) that provides a pickup service and will drop you in Subic Bay or Bo. Baretto. They also provide for the reverse run i.e. Subic-Orion-Mnl.

I spent a great week in Subic Bay the beginning of Nov.

I had RTFF and caught a jeepne right out to Bario Barretta. There are several motels/resorts (By the Sea, Blue Rock, etc.) where you can get a room from 1,500-3,700 Pesos. Depending on the place, the girls hang around waiting on guys to show up and the rest is history.

I went to Midnight Rambler (toward the opposite end of the Bario from Olongapo). The place was great and there were probably 20 girls in at 3pm. I had a few beers at about 100 pesos a beer (@$2 and that was expensive). I started talking to Rose and finally walked out with her for a bar fine of 1,200 peso for a 24 hr period. We went back to my room and had a fantastic time.... If you don't have a room, you can use their "boom-boom rooms" already set up for you and your lovely. I don't recall the cost, but at 50 peso = US$1, it's not bad.

Next day, after Rose left..I went to another hotel and quickly met a cute little 18yr old (great rack) who I immediately struck up a conversation with. We finally left (at the same 1,200 peso rate) and I kept her for the rest of the time I was there.

There are tons of girls, all cute, all want you to pay a bar fine and take them home.

Note : Beware of a bar called Oriental Rose (Red outside with red pillars). I ordered a beer for 30 pesos (about 60 cents) and I gave a 500 peso note. The waitress returned with 20 pesos and insisted I only gave her a 50 peso note. I certainly wasn't going to creat a scene and left, but have told all my friends to beware.

I was in the area staying at the Arazona hotel which is a nice quiet ocean front hotel. The price is higher than some but only 2200-p per night and also better than most. The local bars here are sporting som old favorites and also a new line of NEW TO THE AREA AND NEW TO THE BUSINESS GALS.The overnight stay7 was quiet, relaxing and well worth the trip.Nice to see old frends and 100% better than A/C on the normal life scale.

This is a great area if you want slower and seaside. Its less than 2 hrs from ANGELES, and small and quiet. You can pick from the several bars with gals and the local gals wanting to meet a new face. You do not have to wait until the sun goes down here to spend some quality time eather alone or with the chosen flavor of the day. There is more daytime stuff going on here other than the BOOMBOOMBOOM hard in your face A/C shit.

TRY IT YOU WILL LIKE IT.

I would not use a jeepney unless your budget is very limited. I think the car cost around 2600 peso for aircon comfort and the security of your luggage. I know that the Phoinex hotel also has a car for hire. If you intend diving in Barretto, I highly recommend Johans dive resort for the diving, its a very professionally run operation.

Try Subic Express. They leave daily from Sunset Gardens at 10 am? And will pick you up in Subic at Noon daily, I think from "By The Sea" Resort. 400 pesos per person each way. Van service.

Ended up taking the van from Kokonuts AC to Subic for 400PHP. Kind of nice here, a little less hectic than Fields. Less bars for certain but a nice place to relax and recharge your batteries.

Stayed at Sheavens the first night. This is a nice hotel, somewhat small room for 1600php with a great view of the bay. Nice hotel grounds and landscaping. Left the next day since it was booked and I didn't have a reservation. Stayed at Kokomos in the Love room. Nice room except no shower and very low water pressure in the bathtub. This room does have a DVD player which is nice since I got to check the DVD's I bought in BKK and will be taking 4 of them back since they are crappy copies (filmed from the projection booth).

Since we're on the subject I've found that if a movie is out on DVD (a real DVD not pirated) the Thai or PI copies will usually be 100%, burned straight from the original. If a movie just came out yesterday at the theaters and they are selling the DVD already then chances are 100% that it is a crappy copy filmed in the theater. Common sense I know but it took me a couple of times to figure that out.

BF'd a waitress from Oriental Rose last night. 1200 BF, drinks 35-50 for a san miguel. Staying at the Blue Rock today. Not really impressed with the room 2400 standard beachfront. Next time I will make reservations at Sheavens for the whole stay.

They do a lot of weddings here.

Nice place, quiet good food, secure at about 50 USD a night. Ask the manager for a better rate and he will give you a better price than that. Standard room is 1400-p and delux is 2300-p and you can get the delux for 1800-p is you tell him you will stay longer than a night.

I'll be passing through the Olongapo-Subic area briefly later this month. I'm very familiar with the area (was stationed there in the late 80's) and I understand how things have changed (was back last in 2004).

Can anybody tell me if any of the massage places on SBMA or in Olongapo would offer extras, and if so to what level?

Just looking for a quick hit if time permits. Thanks for your help.

If I have some time, I'll try to make it out to Barrio and fine a GRO.

Calapandayan is a district of Subic City. How do you get there? From the Olongapo bus station (1/2 h) or Barrio Barretto (1/4 h) with a Jeepney (blue line direction Subic City - Castillejos). From Angeles City with „Fly the Bus“ (direction Subic City). http://www.swaggy.com/index_flythebus.htm

There are some ten bars and one ST-Hotel (Gateway; AC, 350 Peso for three hours). The bars are situated on the National Highway. The quality is different.

Kinky’s is a blow job bar with dirty ST-rooms. Better, you tell them to do the service in the bar. Some lady boys are there, but easy to spot. For tough guys, only!
Georgetown is a Philippino bar with high prices (not to recommend).

I recommend Players (former Muff Divers Inn) with clean ST-rooms (20-30 girls, ST 1000 Peso, Angeles City standard), Tahiti (former Mataru) and Dalysai (former Griff’s). Both bars with ST-rooms, ST 1000 Peso, some 20 horny girls being keen on fucking Caucasians.

Last year the Crow bar was ok (this year closed). No ST-rooms.

I didn’t visit all bars. Find out what about the other bars!

For maps and some pictures see: http://www.asia-sextourist.de/phil/sex_phil.htm

I have been there in February and March. In the low season, it could be different.

I stayed at the Hotel “By the sea” (opposite night bar “1”; 300 m away from then Swagman-travel agency). I took for 1800 Peso the Bayside room. The hotel is girlfriend friendly. Safety box in the reception. http://www.bythesea.com.ph/hotel.php

The advantage of this hotel, you can walk from here to all the bars in Barretto. There are some ten bars and one discotheque. The most of them are situated on National Highway.

My favorite bar is the Night Rider. It is a mixture of a restaurant and a Go-Go-bar. There are some 20 girls with style. Some of them are dancers; with other, you can play snooker; with most of them you can …. ST 1000 Peso incl. ST-room, LT 1200 Peso

Oriental Rose (some 20 – 30 girls), The Office (some 20 – 30 girls) and Night Club 1 (some 20 girls) have Angeles City standard.

Some other bars have in my opinion not enough girls. However, you have to check it out. Thinks can change.

I recommend also going by Jeepney or Tricycle to Calapandayan (1/4 h), which is a district of Subic City to see more bars (see report in forum Subic City http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=731042)

In the daytime, you can go to the Baloy Beach. Here there are some hotels, restaurants and two floating bars (Blue Rock and Voodoo with girls). What is up it nighttime, I did not check out. Maybe, it’s also worth to have a look.

hello to all,

went this weekend to subic and stayed in the new wild orchid subic hotel at baloy beach.

my impressions.

nice and new resort with huge swimming pool and well apointed rooms. i stayed in their main building and sleeped very good no noise. however there was a really awfull smell and it might come from the aircondition or somewhere else. i talked to the manager and he will look into that.

they have introductary rate starting 2200 to 2900p.

i just relaxed from my "hard day" in angeles city and cause subic is easy to reach by their express hi way its no big deal to go there.

southern star deprarts between 8.30 am and 8.45 am at orchid in then picking up some other customers and they leave around 9am from brass knob (hope i did the correct spelling) to subic. trip is 450 p and they have a new bus and serve cold drinks..

35 minutes to subic, thats correct. however it take you 20 minutes to reach the expressway and another 20 minutes to leave the expressway. however its speeday and you quick there. i took some fotos from the hotel and i wish the management good luck and many customers. i would stay there again and certainly will :).

next visit i will check out some bars. as i said i was to worn out by my gf to do any barhopping and i have to admit, soccer is king these days for me..pussy is allways avaible at any time to different rates :d

went to johans and had a great meal for a reasonable price...unfortunately no draft beer, but i got that at shanos in ac on my way back :d

I'm doing some very preliminary planning fo my first trip to the PI. If I want to go to Manila, Cebu, Boracay, and Subic area. What's the best way to accomplish this? I'll be flying round trip from San Francisco. But not until fall. But want to start to get some ideas.

I'm going to take about a 15 day trip. Thinking 3 days in Manila to begin with and ending with 3 days or so. Maybe 3 Subic, 3 Boroacay, and 3 Cebu?

I really have no idea at this point. Ha. I want to see the girls, but also do some tourist stuff. I get bored 24/7 if it's all "girls". Yep, believe it or not. I mean, the girls will always be there, right?

Make sense? How would I go about travelling aside from my round trip to Manila from San Fran?

Thanks

Thanks for the Field Reports Blink and Lucky Fellow. I guess with the new toll road, we'll be hearing more about Subic. I haven't been there in a quarter of a century. I'm a bit reluctant when I here there are "about ten bars". Hell, there used to be ten bars within a five minute walk of Shit River Bridge.....and who knows how many between there and the jeepney stop where we used to head off to BB and Subic.

Does anyone know about the Lighthouse Resort?

Looks good,
its located at Subic bay which is a fun place at the beach and have some spots like "Pier one" with live music etc etc etc..of course the usual Mcdo, jolee and wendys, KFC , pizzahut are allways around. Its in the so called BASE, where trikes cant enter, neither can Jeeps (maybe only some certain are allowed)
Its a nice place where you can bring your non-barfine GF dressed casual not with high heels and heavy make up...and thats quite my point. In resorts like blue rock, wild orchid or any other resort you can bring any kind of gurls. Bring your GF to lighthouse where , let me guess some rich pinoys move in, it would be a bit misplaced..Also consider if they bring their family (babys, kids=NOISE factor) and then its obviously run by pinoys...lack of service but high price. 6000p plus service charge and thats for a standard room....out of my budget.but thats my opinion based on my experience from hotels with pinoy management :D

On my recent sidetrip to subic I saw some elder guy with a real beauty, but obviously coming from the barscene. Maybe new and taken out from him immediatly..my guess...So, this will bring me going back there maybe next weekend or the weekend after. I have to do some mongering while in Subic and give a field report....also while Im quite pissed with what was going on in AC last weekend..not sure who is behind that, but I will find out...

Happy hunting

Blink

PS I rather have fun in 10 bars then no fun in 100 :D

Nice and new resort with huge swimming pool and well apointed rooms. I stayed in their main building and sleeped very good no noise. They have introductary rate starting 2200 to 2900p.
Hi Blink,

Was in the area last month and frankly I don't see why more people frequent this area because it has a lot to offer. Hung out a few times at Blue Rock and Treasure Island to eat and drink but stayed at the Arizona Resort.

Do you by chance have a photo of their rooms? Walking past the place it seems that their rooms are kind of expensive for not being on the beach. Do they have beach access?

When I can find some time, I'll do a complete report with pics on this area soon!

Mattrick,

I stayed there in May for the opening. They have nice large beachside rooms across the street from the main hotel 2 mins from Blue Rock resort and dive center. They are even building a large covered bar over looking the beach.

I had a GF with me so did not get a chance to check out the bar scene.

I will be back in August and will check out the local talent.

I'm about to do the same trip in August. Except, Manila, Cebu and Angeles for sure, then maybe Subic, Davao or Puerto Galera.

I would say you should check out Angeles... except I don't think there are any touristy things to do there.

started the day out early about 9:30am. headed to vip rent a car to pick up the car i would be renting for the next few days. the car i had reserved was a honda city. arrived at vip rent a car and the entire process was quick and easy, took about 5 minutes for the entire process to be finished. it seemed like i was back in the united states, that is how smooth the car rental process with vip rent a car went, so they deserve extra honorable mention for running a business in the philippines without the typical extended wait times and without the common unknowledgeable staffing problems that many businesses in ac seeming have. of all the pictures that i took, i completely forgot to get a picture of the car. i highly recommend vip rent a car, rick took great care of me as i’m sure he does with all of his customers. here is their phone number. tel: (045) 892-6216

after picking up the car, we headed to pick up some others that would be joining us for the journey to subic. i was picking up an extra girl and also a friend who was heading to subic. we picked them all up and headed to meet with another friend and his girl, who would be joining the group, but driving their own vehicle for the drive up to subic. we all finalize our trip route and finally we are ready to head out for the new subic expressway. since this was my first time using the new expressway, it was sort of an adventure. the adventure part if i was alone would have been trying to find the entrance, but since there was someone in our group that had traveled this route before it was rather simple. once we passed through the entry booth to the expressway (to where it seems rather modernized, they give you a pvc type card rather than the traditional or old style printed card) it was smooth driving. having been previously advised about the potential for "time tracking" on the expressway in the days previous to my trip (this is where they monitor your time and therefore your speed and they can know by time if you were going above the posted speed limit of 100km/h and upon your exit of the expressway directed you to the waiting lto officials for your ticket/fine), we just stayed at a speed that was not that far in excess of the posted limit and we had no problems. the drive on the expressway is rather boring, sure there is some scenery to look at while driving, but after a few minutes it all looks the same (at least to me it did), thank god i had people in the car to converse with. the entire drive took us about 50 minutes or so, but we did stop once at the pull off or rest area (i had to take a picture for posting) i will say that there were not many vehicles on the expressway at the time we were, in total i probably saw about 30 vehicles on both sides of the expressway during the drive to subic. the transition from the expressway to the subic toll road was very easy and for me was welcomed to be so easy. the cost for the expressway was p123 and the cost for the subic toll road was p18. i make note here that for the p18 toll you do get a much faster drive to subic and also there is currently some roadway improvements going on there. they are currently in the process of repaving the toll roadway i would estimate that they are about 40% done and i can tell you that the new pavement is a dramatic improvement over the previous frequently repaired and patched road surface. wow there is a construction project in the philippines that is actually a benefit for the masses and it is being rightfully funded by funds that were designed for that purpose, that is shocking (but then again this is the subic area and in comparison to other places in the philippines, especially ac, the subic authorities certainly have their house in order. ac authorities do take notes from the subic authorities and start getting your household in order). going through the base was rather uneventful and standard. we continued on our way to our hotel, which for this trip was the dreamland resort.

the hotel (dreamland resort)

we arrived at the resort, parked and headed to the reception area. this was where our group encountered knowledgeable staff (2nd time so far on this trip alone and the trip was only a few hours old). our reservations were ready for us upon our arrival and the reception staff greeted us with a pleasant welcome to dreamland sir. it took all of about a couple of minutes to fill out the hotel registration form and we were given the keys to our rooms. we all had reserved the deluxe rooms. now for those who are reading this i feel the need to make a special mention of how rooms are typically offered in the philippines. "deluxe room" is generally a term used by hotels/resorts in the philippines to describe what an american would usually consider to be an "economy room" or the cheapest room that the hotel/resort offers. this is not the case for dreamland resort. the deluxe rooms (and all of the rooms at dreamland resort) are three notches above. while yes it is true that the deluxe rooms at dreamland are the least expensive offered, they are what other resorts i have stayed at in the philippines and subic would call suites. i do not know what the exact square footage or meters are, but i can tell you that the deluxe rooms at dreamland are large and roomy. included with the deluxe room are a large tv i think about 27", not the customary 20" tv that many resorts in that area have, a real innerspring mattress not the foam cushion type mattress that is commonly found, a good size refrigerator, a table and chairs for in-room dining or entertaining two night stands on each side of the bed, a large wardrobe closet to store your (or in my case the two girls that i had brought with me) and a built-in suitcase stand and most important a large aircon unit that when put on full blast cooled the entire room in a matter of minutes. the quality of workmanship was easily seen throughout the room and the entire resort, even the shower head in the cr was top notch (sorry i forgot to take a picture of it) the shower head was one of those "imported" models that had a range of features, like massage settings. it was and for me is the small things like those that add such a positive to the trip that make it go from normal to great (don’t get me wrong there were many other positive things about the resort and i will be sure to point all of them out).

ok enough about the room for now, back to the happenings. we were all hot and sweaty and the pool was seemingly calling all of our names. once in the pool, we all ordered some drinks and we only had to place our order once (one thing you will notice about my reports is that i make it a point to point out the positive experiences that i encounter as well as any negatives and i especially make it a point to point out unusual things, such as a waitress that can get a drink order correct after asking and hearing my order the first time. many may think that this should be standard, but if you think that, then you have not spent much time in the philippines.) the drinks arrive just as ordered but were served in glass and not plastic (i included this because it was this was just a simple oversight and was one of the only issues that we encountered with the staff at dreamland. we all spent some time swimming around and trying to get our plans for the next day in order. the water was very refreshing. swimming, playing and the heat made me rather hungry so out of the pool and up onto the patio to have some food. i ordered the tenderloin steak and the girls i was with ordered some fried prawns. the food arrived in a timely fashion and holy shit was this tenderloin huge and needless to say that it quickly became my favorite meal and i had it on more than a few occasions. i am a self proclaimed meat critic and i am very choosy about how i classify my steaks and meat. this tenderloin was the best steak that i have ever had in my 4+ years living in the philippines. i have had steaks that were vastly more expensive in some of the leading restaurants in manila and i joke you not they do not compare to this steak. the meat was cooked exactly to my request and full of flavor. i did not get a picture of the girls food (the prawns) and since i do not like seafood i cannot offer my comments about the taste of them, but the girls did make the prawns their food of choice on multiple occasions, so combined with their comments each time of they were large sized prawns and the prawns were delicious, i find it safe to say that the prawns great as well.

having a belly full of food and a plan for our group to head out bar hopping later that night, it was time to rest some (yep that was the pc way of saying/implying that it was time for our group to split into their respective pairs or in my case 3-some and time for some in- room playtime).

wow time does go rather fast when its playtime, hehe. i made the rounds for our group seeing if everyone was ready to head out for a night of bar hopping. our group had a plan to start at the office bar and play it by ear as to where we would head next. wanting some (more for me and my girls) exercise and since the sun almost set and was not blazingly hot so we decided to walk there. it was not that bad or long of a walk, maybe about ten minutes or so.

the office bar

our group walked into the office and found a booth in the corner that would allow us to sit together. we ordered our drinks and began chatting amongst our group all the while watching the girls around the bar. my initial thoughts of the office were all good. i especially liked the uniforms that all of the girls were wearing (see picture below). it did not take long for one of the members in our group to start the shooters. within 15 minutes of our arrival, sambuca shots arrived. now for some background on our group, when we bar hop there is always someone who starts the shooters and then everyone is "obligated" to continue the rounds of shooters. so with this early arrival of shooters, it was going to turn quickly into a drunken night (but that is certainly not a complaint from me). we met up with allen, one of the owners of the office and he joined in with our group and also joined in the shooter rounds. there was a special shooter that allen gave to our group on his shooter round (as well as many other rounds that allen had given to our group), but for the life of me cannot remember the name of it, but suffice to say that it was a good tasting shooter, but at the same time it has some kick to it about ten minutes later. one of the guys in our group (ronin) was with a girl from the subic area and she had a friend in the office, so they called her down for a drink so his girl and the other girl could talk. we all talked for a while, but at some point in talking the girl from the office (who i shall now call "mercedes" sorry her real name is kept secret, i want her for myself and my girl (s) to have). mercedes had said that she liked other girls and body shots. it took my girls all of 5 nano seconds to find a waitress and order two tequila’s for mercedes. side note that i did check with ronin before allowing this to happen as a mongering courtesy and he approved as he and his girl had only called her down to talk as the girls were friends, so with his approval (thanks for not cock and pussy blocking ronin, me and the girls appreciated it) the process began. with the unleashing of the hounds by mercedes, i was impressed; not only with the visual sight, but with her attitude of not being shy (one could only hope that all bargirls were this way). the tequilas arrived and the first of my girls went to work, she really enjoyed the work because she was in that general area for quite some length of time. smiling faces and genuine expressions of pleasure could be seen on the receivers face as well as drooling on my part. it was just a sight to see and something that floats my boat. a brief pause to swap positions for the girls and it continued. i think it was this that sealed the deal for my girls, and later that night we ended up taking mercedes out on ewr. back to the timeline, more sambuca shooters arrived, keeping in mind that we were all supplementing the shooters with other forms of alcohol, so we were all rather intoxicated, not fall down drunks, but floating rather high on alcohol (to which i highly recommend on occasion), the staff/girls at the made for a to a very enjoyable experience for our group at the office and the alcohol we had only intensified the great experience we had at the office. how could i summarize my personal experience at the office? words would not do it justice.

after a few more rounds, our group decided that we should check out the new bar in town, bar baretto, so our group headed over there. i forget what time it was when we arrived at bar baretto (damm shooters). we arrived to find a fully packed bar. i am sure that being the new bar on the block had something to do with how crowded it was, but do not let that statement take away from the bar itself. imo it is a good bar, but is still going through some of the opening kinks. if the customers keep piling in like this a few weeks from now, then i would make the suggestion that they remove the pool table so that more seating can be available. mr. shooter was at it again in bar baretto and shooters showed up, luckily the type had changed from sambuca to b-52’s a welcomed change after round upon round of sambuca. as intoxicated as we all were, we could reasonably not have any more alcohol put into our bodies, so most of us decided to head back to the resort. it was rather comical for my girls and i to get into a trike, i had three girls and one large bastard. i attempted to sit on behind the driver of the trike and on the 2nd attempt to get onto the seat finally made it. now for the bad part, being such a large bastard the trikes tire was nearly riding on the rim (well that is what the rest of the group in the trike behind us was saying, in between their hysterical laughter. it was not that long of a ride and we were soon back safely at the dreamland resort.

(skip the next section if you do not want details of the nights events)

when we got back we each headed to our respective rooms. being a gentleman that i am, i let the three girls shower first. now i have three girls in my room and since i am not ron jeremy or john holmes, i took a chemical helper (thank you pfizer and alpha pharmaceuticals and may god bless you), seriously there is nothing worse imo than having a girl leave the next day without being satisfied and i had three girls to do this for/with so excuse me for being a regular human and taking a chemical supplement lol. back on point now, the sight of three girls in a shower playing and with hands moving all over the place is certainly a sight to see and one that i do highly recommend that each person experience on a regular (at least twice a year) occasion. after about 15 minutes of watching, i kicked the girls out of the shower, so i could get into the shower and go from spectator to participant (yes i could have been such in the shower but my camera would have been ruined and i had no spare for later use). i had the quickest shower in history, but upon my entrance to the room, the three girls had started without me (not here is where a waterproof camera would have paid huge dividends), not a problem and without missing a beat, grab my camera and begin to make the room filled with camera clicks, i put a modeling show to shame. all of the girls seemed like they had been friends for years with the way they were all in sync with each other. i saw the girls do a 3 way clockwise rug munch, a counter-clockwise rug munch, a 3 girl train munch, a reverse rug munch train, a girl in the middle inverted flex munch and so much more. seeing those sights instantly reminded me of the cyndi lauper song of "girls just want to have fun" and believe me these 3 girls were having fun. it was the most spectacular display from three girls that i have ever seen and i have seen tons and this still took the gold medal. just when i thought i had seen it all and thought they were about done with the 3-some, they would impress me and do more. ok enough watching for me, i want to be a participant and all three of the girls were more than happy to accommodate all of my desires. now if a two girl blow job is great then a three girl blow job is just fantastic and highly recommended. now if there is one thing that is potentially negative about having three girls and only one guy is that there is only one cock to go around, but advance thinking from one of my girls solved that problem. yep you guessed it a strap on complete with dildo. call me unique, but when you are fucking one girl doggie style and you look over to see your girl fucking another girl doggie style right next to you with a strap on dildo that is some exhilarating and stimulating shit. not to mention that you have the ability to swap girls, which we did hehe. it was just an all out orgy. hands here, body parts there and there. as the old and very truthful saying goes, all good things must cum to an end to which it did. hungry for some food, and needing a break, we all headed into fridays sports bar for some food. again it was a great meal and everyone enjoyed the quality food. after eating it was time for a late night swim in the pool. now one might think that a swim in the pool at this hour at night would render a specific body organ useless, but i remind you of the chemical enhancements used earlier, i could have been in a freezer and it would have made zero difference. frolicking around the pool with two of the girls who somehow seemed to lose all of their clothes (one had passed out short after we returned from eating) was a great way to get the 2nd round of the party started. imo there is something astonishing to be said for the physics involved with the weightlessness feeling when in water. it leads to much easier movements, enhanced feelings of gratification and for me personally prolonged experiences (sorry to those in our trip group who wanted to utilize the pool while my party was ongoing lol). those moments of our time spent in the pool that night/morning will forever remain in my head and a special place inside my memory will remain for the in-water bar stool 2nd from the left. finally satisfied (for now) we all headed to the room and to sleep. we had an early morning departure scheduled for the next day as we were going to visit the ocean adventure park. sleep did last for more than 6 hours, before i woke up to two of the girls already awake and apparently horny as hell, seems that they had started a little bit before including me and readying me for awaking. what was a guy to do? (we had an hour before we had to leave for ocean adventure), hell ya i participated. again i would like to bless pfizer and alpha pharmaceuticals as their products were still working. apparently we were not that quiet as we woke up the 3rd girl, but she soon joined in the fun and was actually pissed that we did not wake her up earlier to join in the fun. it was my vacation (well vacation from my daily life in ac anyways) so i was determined to make the most of it and the three girls that i had were all great girls and were completely willing to fulfill my desires. so with a simple request, they all lined up bent over the bed with ass out and i began to pull the three girl train. that was an experience of a lifetime and one that i hope will occur in the not to distant future. i gave my best efforts but john holmes i am not. shower time followed by getting dressed and getting ready to head out to ocean adventure.

ocean adventure

it took us about 40 minutes or so to drive to ocean adventure. it’s a long, windy and hilly road. we arrived there about 10: 10am or so. if i remember correctly the costs were p450 per adult for entry. there are extras that you can buy and do, like swimming with the dolphins and fake killer whales, but at p3, 500 all of our group took a pass on the offering. the first scheduled show was the sea lion show, so we quickly headed over to that venue to catch the as it started at 10: 30am. the show last about 15 to 20 minutes and is fun to see, the girls really liked it.

after the sea lion show, our group headed to the aquarium to view the various exhibits. i note here that the inside has air con so it’s a good place to get cooled down for a while, there are also some good species of fish to see, such as the lion fish. the next show we went to was the monkey feeding. the do this and every show twice a day. it was decent to watch the monkeys find the foods that the trainers and keepers had hidden.

the next show that we went to was the dolphin and whale show. this is by far the best show to see. they have a variety of dolphins (bottle nose and spotted dolphins) as well as a pair of false killer whales. the trainers seem to be very good as i compare the abilities of the dolphins and whales to that of sea world in the u. s.

this was not my first time at ocean adventure, but for both of my girls it was their first time in subic and also to ocean adventure, so they were very excited and delighted to have been able to have both of the experiences. for p450 this is a great time and one can see a variety of animals, mammals and fish in one place. it is certainly worth a visit imo.

being hot and tired (and for some of us in the group) hung over from the previous nights bar hop, we decided to call it a day and head back to the resort. upon returning to the resort, most of us decided on a swim while we waited for our food. while eating we discussed what our plans were for later that night. we decided on a bar hop starting at players bar and going on from there. so with the plan in place we each split our own ways with most of us deciding on taking a power nap.

i woke up just in time to get ready for the bar hop and gather the troops. then we all headed off to players. we arrived at players earlier in the night at about 7pm or so. for those who do not know players bar is located on the other end of town and more like perimeter bars in an ac comparison. there is one major difference between the two main bar locations imo. the difference is that bars located in the far end of town can get raunchy (more like a typical thai style) and the bars in the main stream at the other end are more like those found in ac. personally i like the fact that both ends of the spectrum can be found in one town (similar to the was the "old ac" was but is now only a memory). the shows that our group experienced in players bar was remarkable and accordingly the participating girls were rewarded with a couple of rounds of tequila ladies drinks. while there, a couple of our groups members took the opportunity to check out the rooms available here. they are not the ritz, but for those who are traveling on a budget, they are clean and have air con. sorry i lost my paper that had the prices on it, but i do remember that they were more than reasonable priced.

next it was off to the office bar. i am the type of person that when i find a bar that i get pleasure from, i do not feel the need to seek alternatives, the office bar exceeded my expectations on my first visit and that is why we returned and subsequently my 2nd visit was as great as my first. here are the prices for the office bar: p65 for a rum and coke, p55 for a sprite, p60 for a sml, p160 for sambuca shooters and p1, 500 for ewr. there is something unique to the office bar, all of the girls dance, and i mean all of the time. there was not a single girl who was not dancing during the many hours of my visits. also there were no girls hogging the seats of the bar, no girls playing with their cell phones, so i give the office bar owner (s) full credit for running a bar in this manner. it was totally customer service oriented. i can only wish that this style of running a bar will soon find its way into the many bars of ac where this is currently not practiced. here is something that blew me away, when the music of the bar was in rock mode, the girls still danced, they were not mesmerized by the lack of hip hop music to dance to, so there is proof that dancing can occur to rock music. the music was a variety of many different types and not just one type all night long, yet another bonus of the office bar. there seemed to be a steady stream of customers in the bar and in my experience that shows a good bar. just to be clear, i have no financial stake in the office bar or anything, i just like the bar for the many reasons that i have outlined above. back on point, our entire group enjoyed the time we spent in the office bar and some moron (who shall remain nameless and no it was not me) started the sambuca shooters again this night. after 4 rounds of shooters, combined with all of the fun and entertainment we had all had during this day and night it was time to call it a night and head back to the dreamland resort. we all gathered at fridays sports bar for some food. again i enjoyed a great tenderloin steak and my girls had the fried prawns. after a late night dinner, we all split ways. i enjoyed a regular final swim and then off to the room for some more quality time with the two girls i had waiting in the room, and then off to bed. wake up the next morning, have a nice romp and then begin the gathering of everything to load the car up for the trip back. checking out of the hotel was quick and easy. the knowledgeable and skilled staff at the dreamland resort is certainly the difference between a quick checkout process versus being frustrated and having a lengthy process that usually includes long waiting periods.

The Hotel (Dreamland Resort)

Great work. I have read LESS comprehensive reports in travel magazines.

Hope to get to the PI next year and was planning on a couple of weeks in AC. Now I know where to go to break up the AC boredom after a couple of days.

Thanks,
Slim

Acfreddie,

Nice report, but after reading the really long report, Where are the pictures of the girls???

Thanks,

RobbThe pictures of the extra curricular activities that I took either have my girlfriend in them and/or me in them in situations in which I am to shy to post (lol).

Next time I will try much harder to get pictures that do not have any of the above included in them, so that I can post more bold pictures

Acfreddie,

Very nice Subic report. On my only trip to AC, I considered visiting Subic, but didn't feel like I had enough info. Now I have much more!

Some photos of the girls would be nice though ... perhaps you can edit yourself out of them.

Hello Freddie,

Thank you for sharing your excellent trip report with ISG!
Was in the area back in May and 'The Office' was one of the best bars in Barretto.
Even though the place is small it is clean, has good ventilation and is well run, not to mention the girls!
Allen is a fine manager but would not allow any pics inside the club.
You have an advantage when you go with a group because you can end up ruling the bar!

I want also give thumbs up to Acfreddie's report. It made me choose the Dreamland resort. The best quality price ratio accommodation I have visited so far. The staff was extremely friendly except for one daytime receptionist who was distant. One negative thing is that in-room safetybox is missing and it is a hassle to use the safe in the reception because they have a procedure to fill in a form and sealing your property in the plastic bag.

One english fellow I saw in the hotel bought me a GT in the Office and so did one Aussie. Lot's of Aussies in Subic.

One advice for first time visitors. Prepare yourself that a working ATM may be a challenge to find in Subic. Made me desperate once. Closest I could find to try with my Master Card was in Olongapo City and it was third one I tried there. It was 30mins drive one direction. Withdraw limit is low 4000PHP but luckily you could do at least three withdraws in row.

To my surprise barfine was slightly higher there than in AC. Well, I only asked in the Office and it was 1500PHP. I also visited some street with stripper bars. They seemed to be targeted for Koreans. They were rude to me in there so it did not go second time.

There is a closer ATM, but only one. It is in the other direction from Olongopo. I think it is Subic City, but not sure. If you head in the direction away from Olongopo and the base, about 10 minutes, passed Barretto and passed the bars in Subic City, you come to a built up area where the road takes a sharp "S" shaped curve. There is a gas station to the right and 711 and Mercury Drug to the left. Before the 711 is a bank, one machine, I think it is BDO. The limit is P10,000.

While it is far from convinient, and there is the risk that you will get there and find it "off line", it is closer than Olongopo. I have used it a number of times over a year or so, no problems.

Am arriving mid jan. With my buddy and wingman.

We are both beach bums and pussy hounds.

After reading the reports, we are considering either Arizona or Dreamland for a place to hang our hats.

We want a place to base out of and will do side trips to AC and other places of interest.

We do want to chill out, relax on the beach with good selection of pussy when wanted and needed.

I usually like a air con/t/v/internet type of place, with maybe bungalows or room door open to beach, not a regular hotel room which you have to take elevator and go thru lobby all the time.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

And we will post of our experiences.

Wingman and myself arrive mid jan.

We are trying to approximate a realistic budget for fun.

We are older, so don't need all the showy touristy shit, like seadoos, dolphin shows, triple headers (been there done that). We want a mid range on the beach place, with ALL the immenities, Aircon, T/V, good food, etc.

After reading I have a feeling that a average price for a place and fun would be about:

Beach room - 30-50 dollars
pussy - 30-50 dollars
food and booze 30-50 dollars
150 total for a average day?
is this over or under or realistic?

Depending on how much you drink, I think 150 would be the upper end of the scale. Since you are going easy on the activities, there is no reason why you could spend as little as 100 USD per day.

Last time I was there barfines were around 1500/night, 500ST.

The girls on the base, freezone or whatever they call it go for quite a bit more. I was quoted 5 to 6000 LT. But the quality was quite a bit better than I saw anywhere in Subic, the Barrio or around Olongapo.

Thank you bro pooners,

This is all good info,

However there does seem to be a real discrepancy in pussy price?

I'm not cheap charlie, nor am I a fool.

I want good service and convenience more than going for a chase.

Hang on the beach, read, work the computer, eat drink and be merry and walk or taxit to pussy palace and bring home some takeout?

It seems our busget will cover it, but I still want to get the pussy price right.

Thanks again for your info. Have to love this site.

Most of the bars in Barrio Barretto charge 1400 php.
A few lower the BF to 1150 after 11:00 PM.

It would be nice if you would file a FR upon your return!

I was in Subic back in August/September. I did not do much mongering as I brought my own from Angeles. Was cool as I rented a harley type bike from angeles and grabbed a girl and went.

Stayed at the Camayan resort. Was expensive at 3000 php per day, but the rooms were really nice and right on the beach. They have bungulows on the beach if you just want a day trip at 1200 per day also. This area is big with the locals and very good water and beach. I also saw a bunch of moneys and exotic birds running around all the time.

The water was good, clean, and the snorkeling was pretty good also. The resturant served a buffet style in the morning, and had a chef to make omelets (sp? ). Overall, a nice place to visit, but expensive.

You get a discount on the waterpark next door, and they have a dolphin and killer whale show that was pretty good. Also, you can rent snorkel gear and kayaks to paddle around the water. I gave the guy at the rental stand 500 peso tip the first day I was there and never had to pay for anything after that. Also, the staff was super friendly and I wanted to nail the counter girl as she is just my size and shape (and color). Ummmm, good stuff.

Nice option for someone with some time and wants to take a nice BG out for a day or so. Mine loved it and said she felt like she was Cinderella.

We also fucked on the beach two nights in a row with the stars out, (awwwwwwwww). Was pretty romantic in the water and out. Sand in the special parts sucked though, but she was a trooper.

Aloha,

Carmex

P.S. Had to add the last photo because I loved her ass so much.

You would think that it would have an effect since tourism is possible by having disposable income and is one of the first things that people curtail.
Hard to say if prices will fall but they certainly will not go up anytime soon!

This is a good all around hotel to stay at, The price is right, clean, food is OK and lots of locals for the cheep bar prices. Call ahead they book up fast only 9 or ten rooms SEASIDE!

And yes you can bring in your pick of the hour, day, night whatever.

The Treasure Island is owned by Dave Fisher

Read in the Angeles City thread of the scams he and Trance from another local chat site have been pulling. He owns several Bars and Hotels in Subic now like TI and the Voodo. Things called Mo's etc.

People have been arrested or taken to the police station right out of his bars. Wether or not he is responsible is not known. But it has been reported by othre bar owners in a recetn meeting he stated "He was in touch with high ranking officcials and trying tp pay them to not license any other bars"

The point is right after he came on the scen in AC his neighboring bars were often raided and owners arrested. He has been buddies with a local chat site operator TRANCE. That has also been known to ban people for sayiong anyting about his scams etc- they are truly the scum of the earth and you should not frequent their establishments for your own good and safety.

But trust e when I say. Eating a pussy there is eating a twat that has not been cleaned out well- as they hae found that Duching causes irritation and therefore makes them more conductive to catching disease-- most give it quick splash with soap and water-- the goo remnants remain

Most will get pimped out several times a day by taxi guys- family. Etc for a few pesos to loclas etc to help keep the payments coming.- doesn't matter if she is the best looking twat there and works in the best bar at night.-- she if for sale by all and the expats living there and locals with money pay no more than 300 pesos

I don't know if its possible to avoid the mongering crowd, but the Wild Orchid is the best place in Subic, best pool, and maybe the highest price as well. It's less than two years old.

Another higher priced place is the Lighthouse, which looks nice, but I've never been there. I think it was Harry the H that gave a good review. This is not really Subic Bay (city) though -- it is on the old base.

I'll dig through my files and see if I can find more info.

SpamhogHey Spamhog, what is your budget?

On Baloy beach:

Wild Orchard is great 4 star, on the beach, wife friendly, beautiful pool. I think it runs from P3, 000-4, 500 depending on whether you want on the beach/pool and weekend/weekday. I have tried to get them lower but without much luck.

Blue Rock is about P2, 500-3, 000. More 1-2 star. Less wife friendly but still ok. Also on the beach. Small pool. Good dive shop.

In Bario Barretto:

By The Sea is about p1, 800-p3, 000. Wife friendly. Has a small spa she will like. Beach, no pool. Rooms vary from tiny and 1 star to newly renovated and stylish 3 star.

On the base:

If you want to go 5 star, albeit a bit tired, go to the Yacht Club. They let anyone in these days, not just members. Often they have deals of 2 nights for one. The rate is about P5, 500, so at 2 nights for one it is a bargain. Beautiful resourt pool, gym, sailing.

I think there is a place nearby called Venetian. They advertise rooms for P1, 800, and they are quite nice. Not on water, but a short walk.

On the beach is Bayfront. Was nice enough and about P2, 000. Small pool.

Let me know if you have specific questions or need contact numbers.

Just got back from a few days in subic, always wanted to tsee the freeport trade area, nothing special I guess but the place was pleasant enough.
I stayed at the Hotel Arizona, nice enough, smallish pool but okay, rooms are what you would expect, food was very good and staff was pleasant.

I took the express bus up from Manila, P200, about 3 hrs.

Lots of punters hanging around the bar during the day, I think they were Aussies trading intell on the previous nights experience, tried not to eavesdrop but looked like they were enjoying thmeselves. Also a few other westerner/Filipina couples, a few guys with wives with a child or two in tow and and older couple who looked like an old navy man maybe back from the States to see the local relatives. Plus a few obvious temporary romances likely local bar girls.

I was suprised at the beach, very clear and easy to swim, a few too many bums and touts trying to sell you stuff. But okay overall.

Later at night Mrs Spamhog and myself dropped in on the sports bar. I didn't see anything I would have fallen in love with, the girls were average but a few were kind of cute in their little outfits. Mrs Spamhog struck up a conversation with a few of them while I played pool, the usual sob story. All of them were local girls she said. They gave a tip on a place to dance, one said "the girls" often go there off duty. So we got a habal habal and checked it out.

It was down the stroll about two blocks, called Vmax disco, no cover charge
on a Wednesday night so we walked right in. My impression was a local bar, frequented by locals, cheap prices. Place was wall to wall girls. A few pinoys, mostly older guys, I was the only white face. But I didn't feel uncomfortable.

BIG WORD OF CAUTION. I saw lots of TV byots. The bartender was in drag.
It was mostly DJ playing hip hop gangster rap, hard to dance to. Three girls were grinding in front of the smallish stage with the synthesizing equipment, they danced a few sets and were replaced by two girls.

A couple of younger pinoys pretending to be hip hop gangster types had the three go go dancers at their table. Perhaps boyfriends or perhaps customers, couldn't tell. The other two were nothing spectacular but then again neither were the previous trio.

The girls I saw were not that great looking, I saw one or two that might rate but I read local girls, nothing to do, go an hang out at the disco. Most likely some older Pinoy with a few extra pesos might scoop one of 'em up. Here and there a sprinkling of Byots, wouldn't fool the greenest drunk but you never know.

Saw a lone gunfighter wander in, looked around, saw another white face (me) and decided to take a chance. Saddled up to the bar and the girls perked up, heads turned, professional accesment of wallet content. Pretty soon Miss Kitty was sitting next to him sharing a drink.

Another old cowboy walked in, looking to round up a stray. He disappeared into the deeper recesses of the place, later saw two ladies at his table. Me and Mrs were enjoying ourselves dancing when all of a sudden poof, power outage! All up an down the stroll, that sort of killed the evening, we walked back in total darkness and watch the girls and customres pouring out of the
clubs and bars. I was suprised at the number of girls who were forced out of their respective places, lots of them in "uniform" so I got an eyefull.

That was about it for the night. Next night we wandered around a bit, sat up at the late night coffee shop across from the rizona and watched a few of the wroking girls arrive since the jeepney stop was right in front of us.

Overall I would have to say the monegering potential is there, a bit more laid back nothing like the insanity of a Manila red light zone and probably cheaper. I liked the Arizona, probably stay there again if I ever get back.

I live in Subic. A February post said that Dave Fisher might be responsible for his competitor's bars being raided and closed. The only bar which has been raided and closed in the ears I've live here was called Lolliopos and owned by DF. It reopened several moths later renamed Voodoo. It is unlikely that DF paid the police to raid and close his own bar.

There are few major differences between Angles and Subic. The police are much more aggressive in extorting money from tourists. Many foreigners leave AC because of poor treatment by the police. As far as the beach here being bad, it is far better than the beach in AC (there is none). I have swum at several beaches in front of hotels and the hotel staff keeps them clean.

As far as poor hygene for the women I have never seen any evidence of that. Subic is just a smaller more laid back version of AC. Both cities are worth a visit. They are the two best mongering destinations in the Phils.

You will see acarrier from time to time but not that often. As for soldiers on the base no only when a ship is in. Whats his problem? got some gold teeth from the war he is trying to cash in?

They can not leave the base so if you are in the city itself,BB,Baloy beach You will never know they are around.

Woke up early and had to figure out something to make time pass. I ate breakfast in Rayden and when walking out decided to check out Geisha House massage next door. Fee for one hour massage was pricy 800p but I paid the fee. I was escorted to room. At the door not even slightly attractive girl was waiting in full every day street clothing. That time I decided not to agree any extras if offered. She showed me in to quite spacious room with wide leather covered bed. She laid down a sheet and I undressed myself. I laid down on my stomach. She started the massage from back and advanced to arms and legs. All the time she hardly spoke a word. After maybe 40mins she asked me to turn over. Then she popped question if I wanted any extras. It was difficult to understand her at first because she was lisping. I wanted to know the expense so I played along. FS would originally had been 2000p. I said it was too expensive. Then she said ok I give you discount, 1500p. I refused. She offered BJ for 1000p and HJ for 500p. When I refused those offers the massage was over even the one hour time had not been fully used. She was bold enough to demand a tip for the lousy massage.

I cannot recommend non-sexual or sexual massage in the place with that girl. There was another more attractive girl but I saw her on my way out.

Sorry but Mein Herr probably had too much Schnaps, my guess was he got PO'd at all the retirement age Americans he assumes were US troops scooping up all the good looking bar girls while he got zip. US Military has been booted our of its Subic and Clark air bases years ago. The US Military has made rather abreviated appearances from time to time during the height of the war on terror, the Balikatan exercises which helped shoot the shit out of the Abu Syaeef group down south in the Sulu.

Then this idiot Smith has to try and muscle some bimbo and causes an international incident. You won;t be seeing them much in the RP in the future unless it is some guy with a pension come bar hopping.

Gents,

Thinking of a long weekend in the Subic Area in a few weeks and while there seems to be many hotel reviews lately, there's not much on the bar scene.

Yes, I've RTFF and apart from a great report from about 18 months ago, not really much else here.

Any updates, tips, thoughts?

Much appreciated.

A quick and short answer for Barrio Barretto. It is quite quiet also here because of rainy season and economic situation. Most bars have been almost empty. There ia a new bar Rum Jungle I liked a lot. There is some good action in Wet Spot. Voodoo and Lips I would also check. Some crowd in Bar Barretto but the girls are not lookers. If you like VERY loud music then go to Club 1.

I am typing this with a internet tablet no keyboard so maybe I make more complete report when having proper computer.

Taxis here are 10x more worse robbers than trikes. Ordered from hotel 500p one direction for 20 mins ride to freeport zone. I Iike sushi and specially sashimi. There is lousy imitation of sashimi available in Blue Rock. On the other hand near the main gate in the base there is a Japanese restaurant Sakura that offers authentic cuisine including very decent sashimi.

Could someone advice how close I would get with Jeepney (costing me 10p) and how do I recognise Jeepney's going there? If it stops at security gate or even earlier in intersection then there is a long walk ahead.

The Subic City jeepneys terminate in Olongapo at the Victory Liner Bus Station. From there you take another jeepney to the Main Gate. So there are two fares. The cost is very reasonable.

Catch the blue jeeps into town then get off near the bus terminal. At this point you can walk a few blocks or transfer to a yellow jeep to get to the gate. Then at the end of the night, catch a cab back to Barretto. Should be 400 php at the most and cheaper if you bargain a bit.

Yes many good restaurants in SBMA including Korean and Chinese that cater to their respective clientele. Also check out Pier One for their entertainment and food.

Why would you have sashimi at Blue Rock?

As for the other inquiry, others have already posted about the color coded jeepeneys. Why don't you just ask some of the locals?

Mattrick has given some specifics. And if you forget what Mattrick wrote, um, just ask some of the locals. They do speak a bit of English.

My point was I dont want to eat lousy sashimi in Blue Rock.

I was asking here instead of only locals whether someone else would find the information useful. Sorry for asking. I try to avoid it in the future. Specially when this thread is so overloaded and I am in habit only asking stupid questions. Mattrick, thank you for Your answer.

Thanks for your advice about sashimi. I'll try to remember not to eat sashimi, nor white whale, at some dive like Blue Rock.

And thanks Mattrick. Blue to get into Olongapo. Where do the other ones go?
...and how much do they cost? Never mind...I'll just ask someone when I'm there. :-)

I read first time Olongapo thread today as earlier I had assumed it is all about the city but it is everything of this area including Subic, Subic Bay, Barrio Barretto, Baloy Beach... The jeepney discussion have been ongoing there.

Same goes for Vision Thing's question about bars. There are plenty of reports about bar scene in there.

Yea, that is kind of odd. We have two threads for these two areas which could and should be grouped as one, yet for the entire Mindanao area we have only "Davao".

Jackson is pretty good about starting new threads, I wonder if he'd care to combine the "subic" "olongapo" threads".

I took the blue jeepney from Bo. Barretto to Olongapo costing me 10p. I walked couple of blocks pass the bus station and took yellow jeepney (cost 7p) marked with Sta. Rita - Gate. Then walked 300m to Rizal Highway through SBMA main gate, turned left and walked another 500m to get the restaurant. When returning I took Victory Liner bus from Olongapo to Barretto costing me 6p. Only penalty with this travel arrangement is time spent but during daytime I seem to have plenty of it. Other option to save time could be jumping off from blue jeepney in security gate intersection and order a taxi somewhere from there. Also internal taxi fares are high. From main gate to Pier 1 it was 80p

Sakura restaurant was closed during afternoon so I went to Korean Japanese restaurant couple hundred meters further to have my sashimi.

Guys from my generation remember Barrio Barretto.

But starting point was Subic Bay (the port) and then we had a few kilometers of decadence in Olongapo city, but we could take jeepney to a quieter place of decacence, bb. I was surprised (2008) to find a mall in Olongapo city, just across what we used to call "shit river bridge", but there are still a few bars in town.

How about "Subic bay / Barrio Barretto / Olongapo"?

XX man,

I heard about "shit river bridge" when i was in the military. Unfortunately, i never made it to the PI when i was in. Someone told me a story about how nasty that river is, hence the name "shit river". They also said they would throw there useless coins in the river and kids would dive in to get them?

Any truth to this?

Very true. You'd also see women standing in small boats. They usually wore white. Were they singing? I don't remember. They also were hoping for coins.

Outside the base there were bars, massage, discos and even live houses all the way down to the T in the road. Then going left or right at the T were more bars, generally run down little places. To the left was the area for the black sailors.

Picture of Olongapo 1981. Look over the guy's right shoulder and you'll see one of the massage girls who hung out on the street in the daytime in front of the massage brothel.

I just returned from Subic and stayed for 3 nights at the Venezia Hotel on Canal Street and this is strictly a hotel report.

They advertise 1398 php for the standard room, but don't be fooled. And you can't make internet or telephone reservations at that rate. You have to physically show up and it's first come, first served. I checked in around 2PM and they didn't have any of the standard rooms "available". Most likely, they'll have the "deluxe" room available at 3700+ php. Since I needed to be staying close to the business I needed to do, I had no choice so I took it. My impression is the 1398 php rate is bait.

The common areas, as are the rooms are very, very clean and comfortable. They are going to wear out the floor and glass with all the cleaning they do in the lobby area before traffic wears it out!

The breakfast at 220 php sucks. I had scrambled eggs, ham and toast. The eggs were underdone, the ham cold and the toast was dried bread with no butter or any types of jam even tho it was listed on the menu.

They have central air, but for some reason they added a window A/C unit in the room I was in and in doing so had to board up the top of the window. Kind of looked tacky. Hot water in the shower was iffy, but in the opposite. Too much and it was hot!

Bed was comfortable, standard charge for extra towels. Batrhroom OK, but fixtures were a little rusted. For those who care, it's a non-smoking hotel. Oh. Don't try to make an outside call or have anyone call you from the outside. The phone system is strictly internal. A bucket of ice was 30 php. It's a 3 floor hotel and no elevators. I asked for an iron and ironing board and they were very prompt about bringing it to the room. With the caveat that I could have it for 30 min.

There is a PAGCOR casino connected to the hotel which is all slots with the exception of 2 Bacarrat (sp) tables.

On the plus side, it's a short walk (1/3 mile or so) to the bridge over the Shit River and into Olongapo. However, I wasn't able to check out any of the "attractions" as there were just too many business associates around. And I'm sorry, but can't tell you if the hotel is girl fiendly or not. I hung around the lobby for an hour or two one night and never saw anyone trying to bring in a "guest".

Also on the good side is that they have great gift shop if you're looking for nice wines and liquor. Very good prices.

Please Click Here (http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/announcement-reportsofdistinction.php?) for more information. That was exactly my thinking also. When I called there they said they do not have promotion standard rooms available and marketed a superior room (BTW the price for superior room is not bad compared to other hotel prices in freeport zone I could find from internet). Anyway I went there couple of days later in person with all my luggage, They said they still do not have a vacant promotion room that night but next night they would and I could then change the room. I mentally surrended and said I would take the deal. To my astonishment they charged me promotion price for superior and let me stay in that same room all four days. I believe they had four days max stay with the promotion price even though it is not mentioned anywhere.

Couple of other remarks: there was no room specific thermostat for air con. They could only adjust temperature for hole hotel. The room was too cold for my preference. The janitor closed the room air vents and after that it was ok. Another silly thing was the in-room safety box. It was very roomy but it had to be operated with a card that has this magnetic tape. No cards from hotel. The occupant was supposed to use their own credit card etc to close the safe. I ended up hiding my credit card in the room after closing other valuables in the safe :)

I can recommend the hotel at least with the promotion price.

Agree with White whale. No individual thermostat. The room safe will accomodate a wide screen laptop no problem. WiFi was free and when I had problems connecting, they sent someone up right away.

The room key. Hmmmmmm It's an old fashioned, metal key. No problem there, but the key ring is a 6" x 4" x 1/2" piece of molded plastic with the room number imbedded. Try to fit that in your pocket! In the end, I just removed the key from the ring. On second thought though. It would have proved to be a deadly weapon if I needed it!

I visited recently, and don't remember much. There wasn't a mall next to shit river bridge back in the day. In 1981 I spend quite a few days there tied up bayside. Every chance I got, I escaped out into the Olongapo bars or the Subic bay beaches (with bars).

Maybe hotel staff could have suggested something? Too risky?

I'm not trying to be critical, but I cannot imagine going to the Philippines on a business trip and not getting laid a few times.

I wonder how many of your biz associates were hoping for a little escape themselves. It might have done wonders for your biz if you'd taken a few MALE clients out for some sin in Subic. Maybe they went without you.

Maybe I'm a frickin fool, which is why my biz degree has been mostly unused.

There is another recurring problem in that people confuse Olongapo with Subic Bay (ISG has two seperate threads). In the old days, Olongapo had a strip of bars and brothels unequal to any. Today, you need to get out to Subic bay beaches, and a certain area on Subic bay...to get the good stuff.

The reason they should be separated is because there is, Olongapo there is SBMA (BASE) AND THEN barrio baretto and baloy beach. Thanks for the input BB, but 10 minutes between one and the other is the reason I've suggested some consolidation.

If you take a public bus from Manila, I assume you ask for Olongapo city.

If you are looking for sleaze and sand, you ask for subic or bb.

THose of us who've been to the Bataan Peninsula have no problem, but there seems to be confusion among newcomers.

Maybe two sites: Subic Bay: Olongapao AND Subic Bay: Baloy/Barrio Barreta/Subic city?

Having been in Subic bay during martial law, and only once since, is a pretty [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) poor reason for me to take the lead on this issue. BB, we need your input.

I am in ageles now and I would like to know if such scams are commonplace nowadays, or is it a thing of the past.

Such bars should be boycotted for all posterity and thus be put out of business. This specific setup does not happen in Angeles, but rather in Angeles, it happens when you pick up a girl on the street (and a lot less often now as the local police force have given up on this scam due to the publicity). Obviously, if mongers were concerned about getting busted by barfining a girl, Angeles (and the cash cow to all well connected government employees, including law enforcement) would cease to exist.

For whatever reason, this "code of conduct" among the police in Calapandayan does not exist. You can be quite sure that for the time being, the only people barfining girls in this area will be Filipinos and tourists that do not know any better. I wouldn't single our Miami bar, as most likely it could have happened in any bar in the area.

Unfortunately, I do not know the details such as if the girl had a license or not. All of my expat friends (including myself) abandoned this area some time ago, so I don't have anyone to ask!

Thanks, but your reports seem very vague. If you avoid that area of Subic city, can you tell us why? And since you know about this incident, can you roughly tell us how you know?

I know there are certain limits to what you can safely report, but members here also realize that business owners sometimes report false information in order to beat the competition. There is also lots of gossip here and there. We might also have some drunk moron propositioning the 16yr old waitress who happens to be the daughter of the police chief.

Inquiring minds want to know! X

Inquiring minds want to know! XA friend who I have known a long time, who I trust completely, and is well known around here, told me. He personaly knows the person who was busted. Other expats have also heard about it, and they have confirmed it with second hand knowledge. However, I do not know the details beyond what I have heard. I generally keep to myself when I go to the bars, so while I know all the bargirls in Baretto, I know few of the mongers.

There is certainly the possibility that there are details missing from this that would change the circumstances, but I am only reporting what I heard from a reputable source. There is nothing I like more than barfining girls, so I truly hope that this is just a rumor with no truth to it, however, I do believe that this is more than a rumor. I've barfined several hundred bargirls over the years, and never had a problem (or least not one that a couple of thousand pesos couldn't fix), so I think I have a good sense of what places to go to, and what places to avoid. In my opinion, barfining a girl in Calapandayan is not safe. This opinion not just based on this, but on some personal experiances I have had in the area. Calapandayan is NOT Angeles, it is NOT Baretto, and it is certainly nothing like Makati or EDSA complex. I am also quite sure that just about every other expat in the area would also recommend against barfining from that area. Now, lets say that I am wrong and it is completely safe; however, there are far better bars and girls 10 minutes away in Baretto, so you are really missing out on nothing. But if I am right, well, the only thing worse than paying a 1 million peso bribe is not having the million pesos to bribe your way out that situation (although from my understanding a couple hundred thousand could usually get you out of such a problem, but there are exceptions.)

I was here 4 months ago and as it’s been stated before, the whole of calapandayan has fallen on hard times.

I had heard of the stories of drinks being drugged in players, but went there anyway (on the pretence of naked girls boxing). I shouldn’t have bothered because I was the only guy there, boxing never materialized and I was surrounded by wenches.

As for Miami the Mamasan was friendly enough, but again around 3 customers of the 2 nights I went there. No wonder they`re pulling shit like this.

Apologies for the possibly redundant hotel query, and I have RTFF, but having trouble pulling all the info together.

I'm going to have a 4-5 day stay in Subic area from this coming weekend and would like to know the pluses and minuses of the following resorts (which all seem to be basically in the same price range) from anyone who is familiar with them. I'm particularly interested in your views on location, rooms, food, security, friendliness (assuming they are all GFriendly):

Arizona
Blue Rock
Sheavens

Many thanks

You cannot beat the location of Arizona Resort which sits right on the beach. With a bus, jeepney stop and trike stand directly out front. The other two are on a dirt road in Baloy Beach. Sheavens sits on a headland and has no beach.

Would have to give the edge in rooms to Sheavens although you have to climb several stories for the best rooms. They also own the resort next door(Mango Grove). The place was very peaceful and quiet as well.

Food is like women in that everybody has different tastes. Have had many meals at all three resorts and would give the edge to AZ for fast, friendly food service 24 hours a day. Blue Rock does have a nice friday Aussie style BBQ.

Security is not an issue in BB but AZ does have a security guard on duty. Never saw one at Sheavens/Mango Grove yet the place has on open air lobby, resto and pool area.

For the fun factor, would give the edge to Blue Rock with their floating bar. Although AZ has the 'Score' bar onsight, it is not as fun as Blue Rock's floating bar. Sheavens is the kind of place you would take your gf or wife.

Many thanks to M and WW for the timely info about the three hotels I mentioned. It turns out that at such short notice, Arizona does not have an available room for this weekend, so I went ahead and booked a standard beachfront room at Blue Rock for 1900 P a night.

I'll write a report for you all about my stay at Blue Rock as soon as I get back to Manila next week. In the meanwhile...

Happy mongering, lads.

Technically BB is in Olongapo, but it is also on "subic bay" and right next to "subic city". Subic City thread includes the name Subic Bay which encompasses the whole area. Also, Subic C is closer to BB than Olongapo downtown. If you got confused reading that, it's okay since I got confused writing it.

So there are several ways to solve the problem.

1. Create one big thread called "Subic Bay" or "Subic/Olongapo/BB".
2. Add a thread "Barrio Barretto". Do we need three threads?
3. Change the name of Subic city/ Bay thread to "Subic city / Barrio B".
4. ???

I personally prefer choice #1.

Mattrick, scroll down to the bottom and hit "contact us". Make your suggestion there.

Aye, back in the day most of the action was in "Po-town" (Olongapo) along the main street Magsaysay ave. Close enough you could walk back to the boat drunk. Back then, there was action up in the Barrio, for more advanced mongers on their 2nd trip.

They should 'erect' a monument to all the sailors and marines who poped their cherry in Subic. But the mayors chased most of the GRO action up to Barrio Barreto (which seems like a good idea really). I hear they are even trying to re-name Magsaysay because of the sordid past!

I don't ever remember calling it Po town. For a while, I walked that strip every night. Some places had live bands, some had dance floors -- for couples. We'd dance with the go go girls in between their sets.

Even on "duty" nights, I volunteered for shore patrol and at the end of the night I'd sped the night with some gal I had chatted up at one of the bars. Technically, it was against the rules but I got away with it -- mostly.

I made it to "barrio" toward the end of the WestPac and was completely blown away. Bars on the beach, girls rooms on the premises. You could have a good fk and then ask her to go get you a beer.

As for cherry boys, I do remember one country bloke who was from a "dry" county. We got him drunk and laid. A week later I saw him sloppy drunk with two gals in tow. We'd created a monster....

haha yes I think that was something my buddy, "The Man Who Fell In Love With Bar Girls" came up with in our shop.

I recall, the shit river and that bridge was like your salvation. Get back on base and you had Sanctuary. No girl could come after you there. Coming back one night, a very young sailor wearing whites was stopped within sight of the bridge. He was surrounded by teenage pinoys who seemed to be working their way up to rolling him. I leaned in and grabbed him and pulled him out, and said "Lets March, Sailor" and we lock-stepped up to that bridge.

I remember a long time ago while I was still in college, reading an article in Playboy about Subic and all the goings-on there. I particularly remember a description of the "Smiles Game". I thought, I gotta join the Navy! I never saw any smiles games, but I did see me some Peso Shows. lol Good times. Never see that stuff again.

When I was in the USAF, I made many trips to Clark AB in the mid-80s. I asked about Subic since AC can get boring after a while. I was told that the Navy had Subic and did not appreciate AF guys going in and banging their women. So we (AF) stayed in AC and let the Navy have Subic. I don't ever remember seeing a squid or jar-head (love them both, so no flames) in AC.

Just spent a couple of days in Barrio Barretto recently. No bother posting about what I did, it echos many other reports about the area. Nice change of pace from AC. But here's a report on taking the bus from Manila for the cheapskates amongst you:

1) get to the Victory Liner bus station in Pasay on EDSA just up the street from Taft. Taxi drivers should know this location. You can also try the location in Cubao if you're closer to it. If you really are The Cheap Bastard, you can take the LRT or MRT to the EDSA/Taft stop, get out and walk up EDSA to that station, it's a few blocks.

2) at the station, look for the Olongapo window. Buy the ticket to there; it's 215p per person at this time. Throw in another 3p at the head if you need to [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) before getting on the bus.

3) at Olongapo station, you'll have the vultures wanting to charge you lots to take you to BB. Just for kicks, you can ask them if they see "ATM" written on your forehead. Take the jeepney instead. Not remembering what I paid, but it was very dang cheap. Make sure you find one that's going into Subic city, they can drop you at your hotel of choice in BB.

Good report Finrod!
Took the Victory Liner to Olongapo earlier this year but started out from Dau.
From my understanding, they leave hourly but the ride was longer then expected since the bus did not use the toll road.

Upon arrival, I was mobed by people who wanted to help me.
I would have taken the jeepney but had too much luggage and since I was going to Baloy Beach,
would still have a bit of a walk to the hotel from the jeepney stop on the main highway.
So that meant dealing with the trike drivers since there were no taxis.
Negociated a fare of 250 php so off we went the four of us (the driver had a companion along for some reason).
Got to the hotel and the driver demanded more and followed us into the hotel.
Luckily, the manager was there and said 250 was plenty then told him to take a hike!

The price for a jeepney (blue) to BB is only a paltry 12 php!

Finrod
11-24-09, 18:08
You're welcome... Yes the buses leave the Pasay terminal hourly (up to 6pm, iirc). My wingman and I did lug our luggage onto the jeepney, had to keep it close as the jeepney got crowded, but yes it was 12p. For some reason, I kept thinking 11p, but I was sure that was not right. But close.

There's definitely a trike mafia in Barrio Barretto as there is in Angeles. No trike would take less than 50p for a simple jaunt from Arizona Hotel (where I stayed) to some bar short of Baloy Beach Road. So we walked to the bars each night, if we found someone to bring back to the hotel, then we used a trike. They would ask for 70p then; I would just give them 50p and say goodnight.

I spent 5 days in Barrio Barretto last week, so will add a few bits and pieces of info and try not to be (too) redundant with other recent reports.

Getting there
Bus to Olongapo from Pasay Victory Liner terminal--hourly as reported. Comfortable air con bus (perhaps bring an extra t-shirt as the air con can be fierce!). Fare 230 pesos. The trip is roughly 3 hours, with one stop for 5-10 mins, one hour from Olongapo.

Olongapo bus terminal to BB, as reported, choices are Blue Jeepneys (12 pesos), trike (depends on what you can negotiate, but they'll ask for 150 P, or private taxi (300-400 pesos). I had a couple of bags so opted for a trike, for 100P. It's about 8 kms and 10-15 mins. My trike guy took me all the way to my resort at Baloy Beach.

Accommodation
I stayed at Blue Rock, booked online and followed up with a phone call from them as they didn't have available the type of room I booked. I ended up with a Standard sea View room for 1900P. Nice room, clean, safe box in room, large-ish TV, fridge, comfy queen size bed (with 'extra' feature of mirror on the ceiling!), ample hot water, clean bathroom. No complaints.

Staff was friendly, waitresses always smiling and chatty, good food, adequate pool, all in all a pleasant enough place to stay. Added bonus, BR normally has a floating bar with about 25 girls working on it for your drinking, swimming, cavorting pleasure--you can even bar fine them. The floating bar wasn't up yet, but will be 'floating' by next weekend. However, just a click or so down the beach, in front of Treasure Island Resort, is the Voodoo floating bar--with around 20 working gals on it. I spent three very pleasant afternoons there. Not the best looking gals around, but very friendly, fun and lively. Lady's drinks 120pesos and bar fine 1200P. I met a gaggle of cousins on the Vfb, and ended up one evening being invited by them to the SBMA night market to walk around, drink beer, listen to live bands and enjoy a great Bakla (ladyboy) beauty contest (real stunners!). Fun! BR is about a 6-7 minute walk on a dirt/partially concrete road to the highway in BB, which has all the bars.

Bars
Too many to list... but as mentioned before, most of them seemed to be empty most of the time, with maybe 3-4 pulling in all the punter. They were (if memory serves), Lips (upstairs), Wet Spot, Rum Jungle, Angel Witch. Lots of gals, who in general seem to be friendly and without any kind of 'big city' attitude. I didn't notice a lot of stunners, mostly in the 5-7 range, but there is definitely enough choice (with a goodly few slim gals) to keep the most choosy mongers interested). I ended up with a lovely Tequila gal from Wet Spot for a few nights.

Lady's drinks are affordable, ranging from 150 to 170. Bar fines range from 1200 to 1500, with the idea that the punter pays the gal a tip of whatever he thinks she deserves--one of those 'up to you' situations. I gave my gal 1000 each nite and she seemed very happy with that--and she was absolutely worth it--a real honey, who has the flattest, tightest tummy I have ever seen on a 30 year old with three kids! Not a hint of a stretch mark or Jollibee habit.

Hope this is useful.

I have just returned home after 3 weeks in Thailand, and I have a flight booked for mid January to BKK. After a round 20 trips to LOS I feel in need of a change and Bario seems OK for me.

When in Pattaya a bar owner gave me the brochure for Harleys and it seems an OK place. After reading some posts it is a little way out of Bario and a bit of a climb to the rooms but the rates seem OK.

I am not 100% sure whether to go to the Philipines or not, Cebu would cost me £150 return from BKK, Thai a lot more to Manila.

Just a quickie on girlie fees, I understand that the Barfine is around 1500 Pesos including the girls money.
Is a tip expected on top of this for the average girl who is neither poor nor exceptional in her boom boom skills?

In my heart I know a couple of nights in Angeles and about 14 nights in Bario would be fine for me but after 3 weeks in Thailand I have to make sure that I don't finish up not enjoying myself for financial reasons.
TIA

Harleys has a great bar but I never stayed there. Less then a 15 minute walk to the bars in Barretto. If you don't want to climb steps, check out Arizona Resort, right on the beach!

Yes a little tip is expected maybe 400 php or less depending on how much time she spends with you. Small gifts is what I always like to give instead of pesos.

Gus69
12-11-09, 10:06
Thanks Mattrick, the girlie prices are probably very close to Pattaya but cheaper than Bangkok.
Ball Park figures:
Phil 1500+ 400+ say total 2000pso = £26
Pats 1000+300 + say total 1400bht = £25

After just spending 3 weeks in Thailand and with another 3 weeks plus coming up I have to make sure I have enough money to enjoy myself.
Rooms and Girls are probably similar pricewise, it is the airfare from Bangkok to Clark to consider plus ATMs don't seem so readily available in Bario like they are in Thailand.
I am sure that the whole Subic experience is worth taking in sometime.

Harley's is a decent bar, but the rooms are very small and basic. If you want to stay at Baloy Beach, I would reccomend Blue Rock instead which btw has an excellent restaurant as well. Sheaven’s is also good and if you want good pool and shared facilities, Wild Orchid resort is the place, but a bit pricier (their rooms are not really better than the others though). All these places are literarly next to each other.

One downside to staying at Baloy Beach is that you will have to take two trikes to the bars unless you are willing to walk (it is an easy walk). The trikes servicing the Baloy Beach are not allowed to drive further than up to national highway where you have to switch to a new trike. Each part of the route is only about 5-10 minute walk, but when returning with your barfine you may have to take the trikes (the ones servicing national highway are not allowed to drive down to Baloy beach). You should not pay more that 30 pesos for each trike ride. I have no idea why this is the rule, probably just to get more pesos from you.

If you do not necessarily have to stay at Baloy Beach, I think Arizona International hotel is a good choice.

The Arizona seems better for me, I like to walk everywhere when possible, so it is better if it is not too far:)
Taxi mafia are the same the world over, seriously though I like to be close to the action but have a quiet room.

My gut feeling is that i may have to skip Subic until next winter for financial reasons, and have just one holiday next winter and not two.
I am sure many members start off in Thailand and then move to the Philippines.

I always used only one trike. They went on National Highway, down into the beach, into Calapandyan, to any bar I requested and back to Harley's.

Maybe the weird downside you are discussing is one of those things that is a rule but is never enforced until a corrupt politician (as was discussed later in the thread) chooses to enforce it.

Here's a fun game - count how many trikes have a sticker of Mayor James "Bong" Gordon, and how many do not...

"Aim High, Olongapo!" "Fighting for Excellence!"

What a tool.

I walked to and from bars as well, which is fine unless it is raining. Then the Baloy Beach road becomes a field of muddy potholes.

Invest in a flashlight if you want to walk home at night. Almost no lights on the Baloy Beach road.

Given this new information, when I go back I am likely to choose Arizona, I think, even though I love Harleys.

There has been at least one change no-one has yet reported. Dryden has moved to new smaller premises next door. Angel Witch bar has been established in its' former place.

Being Christmas eve there were plenty of girls and only few customers in three bars I had time to visit: Score Bar, Voodoo and Lips. The Score Bar I was second customer maybe ten girls. Voodoo (new?) owner Chris was in place putting new spin on bar. The Lips had maybe 30 girls and less than 10 customers.

Back to Dryden. It now has 50'ies US diner look. Big red and white mosaic tiles with matching colours elsewhere. Menu is still same and I mean literally same. Menu in the same old stained folder... Funny. For me new outlook and menu do not match. Well, I mostly like the food.

Blue Rock

This place has a lot going for it. It maybe has a policy of improvement ad successive reports seem to suggest problems being fixed or standards improved.

Beautiful location, peaceful, butting onto the beach, & with good facilities - nice views and beach lounger outside - Jetskiing, diving and other sports. DVD player. Ceiling mirror. Hot water. Minisafe & fridgibar. Separate lounge area (not to my liking tho as I can't see what a chica is up to). Idyllic were it not for oil tankers further out to sea.*

No bed lamp (get up to switch light on)
Keyring welded to the power activation card resets all the video/aircon etc every time you go out. Staff generally try to be helpful. Restaurant is good if you compare it to other hotels.

I've only needed one trike to the bars if I haven't walked, so the two trike thing reported last year apparently fixed. The standard fare btw is 30 pesos max. (If you're not sure of a fare in the Philippines, the easiest person to ask us the hotel receptionist or doorman - they will usually quote something slightly generous but not so generous as to arouse the greedy smile of sucker-catch I'm the recipient. Walking back has seemed ok to me late at night mostly, if I don't any alarm bells - but I am not recommending it to anyone not comfy with reading things or not used to taking chances.

Bars: hardly worth reporting as a few visits are hardly going to be indicative - but you have a long strip of bars a few minutes away with standard barfines and usual mix if mostly average looks girls.

Blue Rock's floating bar, I would agree, nice place to while away time. Unlike AC, Barreto has a wide range of non-monger activities to stimulate you during the day and there is no hard sell feel. The hotel has a mix of mongers (with an emphasis on elderly, extremely corpulent gentlemen), scuba diving hobbyists, ex-pats, and families. So mongering openly looks more naff than in AC if she if she is a pretty 20yr old and you are a fat 70 year old. Occasional female gringo tourists if you don't want to blot your copybook.

Travelling to AC - I found Subic Express (door to door) or the minivans to/from Dau-Ologopo (Dau's two mins from AC) ok. The buses, terminals and jeepney combinations can be confusing first time, so ask. If you miss the last minivan back to AC - I was told it was 4pm - the bus to San Fernando (the San Fernando en route from Manila to AC) and subsequent short trip to AC can be long and tiring over the hills. With detours, stops and slow moving traffic it took me about 4hrs. *

I'm sure it will change again faster than the girls panties, but best lookers I've seen so far has been Lips. I'm afraid Wetspot was a bit poor show. Escape was middling, but see the problems I've had with a girl from there in the Filipino Opinions and Advice thread.

Ever get tired of the throng of squeals screaming, 'Have a seat, Sir' as you walk in? One way I found to silence them us to walk in with some Balut you've just bought and eat it (correctly) in front of them. (It tastes a lot better and more ordinary than it sounds btw, and don't forget to add the spicy vinegar.) the cost is 10 to 15 pesos.

I should add that, having done everything I could, I let it drop at Escape.Never did like the Escape club. The year before last I befriended a dancer who worked at Escape on DIA. We initially met on the beach but she wanted me to stop by her work. Very smokey, claustifobic bar with music that was ear spliting. Only lasted ten minutes inside then told her I would see her after work. Have also had trouble at Broadway and when I finally talked to the Aussie owner, he gave me the runaround.

Blue Rock has a great friday night all you can eat BBQ.

Most Filipinos don't phase at the sight of Balut. You must have bought the 16 day old Balut as it is easy to eat. Next time try the 21 day old Balut where you will be chewing on the beak and bones!

For dancing check Gigalos in Olongapo and V-Max in Barretto.
Don't rightly know about a good gym but your best bet would probably be
one of the resort hotels in SBMA.

Never did like the Escape club.

Actually I am changing my opinion. I don't think she did take the notebook. Doesn't change that it was poor service. Makes me have second thoughts about bar owners that say they would fire a girl at the first complaint. What if the customer makes a mistake? When I ran a nightclub back home, I never automatically assumed the customer was right.

Lips bar is Aussie managed. I was pretty impressed with the set up. Although he said he would always believe a foreigner over an employee. I liked the look of the girls. Till I realised 3 out of 6 dancing in the front bar were cherries.

Lol. But maybe they are surprised at 'sex-tourist' foreigner customers eating it? Either way, it seemed to stop me being hassled. But again in Lips, which maybe has a policy of not hassling your socks off anyway.

I arrived a couple days ago on my way to a job up north and am having trouble pulling myself away. Decent P1200 room at By the Sea, crawling distance to the bars. Number 1, Rum Jungle, and Wetspot all good fun. Good food as always at Dryden's and there's a serviceable gym around the corner. Out to the floating bar this afternoon . . . not a bad life here.

YMYM I have just come back to Manila from some business in Olongapo. There a quite a few bars along the main drag from Olongapo city mall. I took a cutey out of some place called 'Tokyo' (or something).
Walked her out of the bar directly across the street to "Kong's' Hotel.
It was cheap, clean & quiet with a decent aircon.

i think the bar charged me p3000 BF which was probably way too much but the girl & I were so horny we could'nt wait to get in the hotel & shag ourselves into exhaustion. Told me she was from Dau to escape being seen working in a bar & was saving for tuition money to continue her nursing degree.. probably true.
Enjoy!

True - I only discovered AC had 'more' (apart from the awesome Pinatubo which I loved) after leaving.

But pussy aside, I could hardly call AC a heaven on earth. Whereas the floating bar (I used the Blue Rock one and shoreside hotel of the same name) felt like heaven, as did the hotel. The p4p wasn't exactly as fine as LAC for a beginner like myself, but it was quite adequate. After the dust, fumes, traffic chaos, etc of much of what I'd been thru Balloy Beach is pretty fine. Hire a boat, eat top notch Ozzie steaks, take a horse out for a ride, wander a deserted beach only accessible by boat, then come home and watch girls oil wrestling before getting a 'carry out' from a nearby girlie bar for the night to my room with a sunlounger touching the beach and all modcons including a DVD player (and unlike AC, the room extras worked properly and staff gave a damn) - and all with pretty nominal effort. :)

If I return to PHP, I'd probably spend time in Manila for f*ck-festing, visit Cebu, then retire to Balloy Beach in Subic for utter and total relaxation until the reality of a flight home kicked in!

No girlie content, sorry :( I was in Barrio Barretto with my steady girl so no change checking out bar girls. Couple of developements since previous visit:

o There was new well packed rubble on Baloy Beach road. Maybe they put asfalt on it :)
o Mosquito bar has changed from a "drink" bar to similar small girlie bar as most others are and name is now The Fox Hole
o Next to Bar Barretto is new place Club 20/20
o New hotel on National Highway - Subic Grand Seas Resort
o New Japanese "take-away" style restaurant on National - name seem to have escaped from my mind. Started with "W". Wakav?
o.New convienece store on National - Bizmart

Both floating bars Blue Rock and Voodoo were open and operational.

Anyone been there?

I am planning six weeks stay in Barrio Barretto this Summer. It is too expensive to stay in hotel that long time. This apartment style accommodation has lower cost monthly rate option 24000PHP (~800PHP/day) but I think in off season it is even lower than that.

Any other recommendations?

AVWow good luck you have. Last time I was in an olongapo city bar, the owners were trying to rob us and fight with us. The manager was in our face the whole time. I met a really nice girl and negotiated a bar fine and the situation and the manager really tried to ruin it and get more money and less time with the girl by saying she could only go two hours after she told me all night.

Other bar girls quoted a lady drink price of 250 and the bill was 400 per lady drink. Only one drink was bought. I did argue a little about that but they were not going to budge.

So I paid and the gave me the incorrect change and the manager/popasan was in our face the whole time.

I have never gone back. I was in the bar with two friends and all of us are good sized and able to fight and not really bad condition, but the bar owners? Or managers were pushing us the whole time.

First time in five years being in asia that I wanted to fight someone, but figure he has the police paid off?

Does anyone have recent update on the floating turds in Subic bay area?

Research and reviews on other sites suggest, that raw sewage is a serious problem and all warn, do not swim in the ocean.

That sucks and is kinda shocking if true.

How about Balloy Bay?

Does anyone have recent update on the floating turds in Subic bay area?Subic Bay refers to the whole bay, so it includes all the beaches in the Freeport Zone, Olangapo (where Barretto is), and Subic City. The bay is small enough that I doubt if water quality varies much from one beach to another. Whether it's been getting worse lately I don't know, but it's never been good due to all the shipping and industry on the bay. It's not the kind of water you want to spend a whole lot of time in. Maybe a quick dive off the Blue Rock floating bar, or a little swim in front of Sheaven's (the nicest little beach on the bay, IMO), but no more than that.

If you want cleaner water, just head up the coast a little to Zambales, right on the South China Sea.

AVI agree with you basically. I am a visitor in this country and just try to keep a low profile. But you still can get into situations where some locals go out of their way to fuck you and not the way you want to fuck.

Yes just take the rip off and get the hell out. But I will not go back to any bars in olongapo.

Bario baretto and other areas yes.

And I travel also to mindanao and no problems there.

So I know how to avoid trouble and be low profile. But the bars I went to in Olangapo were really really really bad.

And if the price of a lady drink is even 1000 pesos. Okay don't go in there if you can not afford it.

But if they tell you its 250 pesos and then the bill is 400 pesos. Then you know they are out to fuck you.

And also other things. Like a girl touches you and they bill you for a massage.

You did not ask her to touch you and you did not encourage her.

Actually you discourage her.

So you can do everything right and if you are in the wrong place you better get out and not go back

I have a lady friend who when I first met her was working the night shift as a cashier at a hotel earning the princley gross amount of 280 pesos a shift.

The minimum daily wage in Manila is less than 400 pesos a day:-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_minimum_wages_by_country

We have staff in our Manila office that work six days a week for less than 20,000 pesos gross a month.

Imagine being a yaya (maid) in the provinces on 2,000 to 5,000 a month.

So even though it is cheapish by western standards to buy ladies drinks for instance it does go to show you the concept of value is all relative.

Happy mongering!

guam never been (shame?) but i have spent last two summers in barrio barretto and this is going to be third one. not because of nice weather. it suites my budget better than real tourist attractions like bohol, palawan etc and you do not need to bring own ladies with you. i am forced to work for my living and summer vacation is longest period off my boring work.

you will most likely to be disapointed in weather if you expect beach time. the 2008 and and 2009 summers were different. 2008 it was much more all cloudy days and sometimes very windy. i did not even concider swimming or boat rides. 2009 it was short day time rains and some rep001tered cloudy days. othervise ok. did not bother me that much i would have noticed. no sun burns either of summers. no tan from first one.

I used to live in the barrio when I was stationed in PI in the 1970's, and visited frequently in the 80's.

I plan on returning for a visit in November and will stay at the Blue Rock hotel.

Back in the 70's and 80's it was no problem finding women who were blow-job experts, and were true LBFM's, particularly in Subic City. However, I expect that may have changed a bit since the Navy left.

If anyone has any insight on what I can expect regarding the available talent, it would be highly appreciated.

I will also post this question on the general info thread.

I just returned from a 2-week stay in Angeles City and was also concerned about rain before my trip. It only rained a handful of times in 1 to 3 hour heavy showers. Then it passed and as soon as it came. There was not much to do when it rained other than just camp out wherever I was at the time.

I would guess that if the rainy season pics up and it poors down for days at a time it would put a damper on your fun. If you had a couple cute filipinas at your hotel durring the rain it may not be too bad. Make sure you stay at a place that has a good generator.

You will find six and sevens but not many super stunners like you would find in AC although the atmosphere is more relaxed and the girls more friendly. Mo has jump started the barrio opening several bars so I would give his bars a look see.

I got a message a few days ago that the GETAWAY HOTEL on Baloy beach had a fire? This is the place at the end of the beach road past lagoon. Was it a small fire or is the place shut down? I also heard "BILL the owner is in the process of getting things up and running as we speak"

This is a good all around hotel to stay at, The price is right, clean, food is OK and lots of locals for the cheep bar prices. Call ahead they book up fast only 9 or ten rooms SEASIDE!

And yes you can bring in your pick of the hour, day, night whatever.

B. B.It's true the place had a fire and it it was almost completely destroyed. Luckily noone got injured.

On the morning after the fire Bill and the usual guys put up a table and chairs in the middle of the ruines and drank their beers. So although the place burned down, it was never closed, at least for drinks.

I went back a couple of month after the fire and they had already rebuilt 4 brand new rooms, all smallish but clean with aircon, tv, ensuite shower etc.
If by now they have rebuilt more rooms and if possibly the upstairs rooms were were rebuilt too, I don't know.

But it's a great afternon hang out and I enjoy to stay there during my holidays there.

I've stayed at Harley's and Johan's. Beach front in Johan's for me meant walking through the dive center. Basic facilities, nice folk.

Johan's (like Harley's) is Girl-friendly but does NOT allow talent to ply trade on-site. Johans is more diver/couple friendly. The female staff of Johan's is sweet and friendly but like family - do NOT try to hook up with them at all - they are 'little sisters' to every man there.

If you bring girls back to these two places on a few occasions, the female staff will become a little chilly (though always professional) to learn you are 'just like all the rest.'

Certainly I have not been many places in Barretto/Baloy Beach, but I would not expect any on-site talent in any resort in Baloy Beach.

If you want beach front/on-site talent, look into Arizona on the bar strip - it does front a beach, and the sports bar and accompanying girls are nice. Also easier to walk to and from after the main street of bars. I would try there on my next visit.

Looking for a little advice for my upcoming trip. I will be in AC next month and I have some extra time before I have to go back to work so I thought about checking out Barretto. I was looking at staying at the Blue Rock since there are several reports on it but I was wondering if anyone can advise on Johan's? Looking for beach front, obviously must be GF and preferable have talent on site, and must be close to all the bars. Thanks in advance
No talent on site. They are family tourist places. Conduct yourself with decorum you have no problem, who cares what the receptionist thinks.
Get a prostitute from a Bario bar or visit the malls in Olongapo to pick up a non pro. Take note : due to its past as a naval base foreigners are not novelty, women may not fall at your feet ;)

Sadly this was not the case. The rubble has sank into sand and the road is becoming bad shape again

o Next to Bar Barretto is new place Club 20/20
New neat place with big cat walk. Not so many customer seats but at least on low season no need. The bar was almost empty of customers.

Yes it was.

Both floating bars Blue Rock and Voodoo were open and operational
No floating bars on rainy season

The Angel Witch bar had something I had not seen before - New starting girls have a "pupil" status and EWR was half from normal

Oh, there is one update I intended to mention but forgot - at intersection bulding to Baloy Long Beach there are new disco and videoke called Remz. Music in disco was LOUD. Probably to be noticed outside. There was mamasan with 5-6 ladies but no customers. In videoke one can sing free if buys drinks.

Can I go to the beach for the day without rain?

Also at this time, low season, is there action in bars or the number of girls decreases ?

Thanks

Non p4p girls are used to foreigners in this ex naval port so expect them to fall at your feet but still plenty enough of them game to hook up with you.

Blue Rock is a damned nice bet. You can get the sense of being on the beach even if you're not. Get a room facing onto the beach. Sheltered porch. The restaurant is open air, butting onto the beach, but with a roof. You can make the dash to the floating bar and hang out there all day chatting to Tony the barman or chatting up the resident cuties. Totally GF, but remember it's not AC. It's not just punters. Families, scuba fans etc as well. So if you are a fat old greasy sleazeball with 19yr old tottie, you might stand out, even if everyone pretends to ignore it.

The floating bar girls are ultra GFE, but best tottie is in the bars on the main road. Walking distance or quick bike/cab.

Blue Rock is a place you can enjoy just living there, even before you add the extras. If you go, I hope you like it.

Just got back from Subic where I was for a week. Decided to stay at Harley's on Baloy Beach due to reasonably priced. It was my first time to stay there and found the staff to be very friendly. Rooms are small but clean. Only problem was it could be noisy when people are playing pool.

First night went to Calapandayan as I wanted to go to a bar called players. To get there you can hop on jeepney although if first time I recommend you get a trike (100 peso). Once there I found Players was closed. Went across the street to a bar called Kalesa (I think that was the name) as I know they have nude shows. There were some stunners there but didn't like the fact that a girl sat down and they immediately brought over an open beer for her. I was going to refuse but she was hot so bought her drink. At 250 a beer for her it isn't cheap. After she downed the beer quicker than mine I figured I needed to make a quick escape so paid and left back towards where the bars are along the main street in Barrio Barretto. Stopped at a bar called Cat Walk and was impressed with the line up there. Quickly hooked up with one of the girls. BF is 1, 500 here. Went bar hopping to a number of bars. Rum Jungle appeared to have a good line up also and I knew a few of the girls who had previously worked in Angeles. Fox Hole was a small bar that had some good Rock music. There was a girl there that looked like a full on foreigner (white girl) but didn't talk to her. Went home around 2AM

Along Baloy Beach there are mostly restaurants in the hotel which has good food but is expensive. Blue Rock probably has the best food with large portions and a decent setting. But, if you walk up to the main road turn right and head towards where the bars are, there are some places to get a cheaper feed. There is Andoks which has great litson manok. It is about 15 minute walk and close by the Arizona Hotel (which is where I was originally going to stay). There is also a 7-Eleven there to get your soft drinks and snacks.

On the second night went to a group of Bars called Lips. On the bottom floor is Lower Lips Nightclub. About 20 or so dancers and again, a few good looking ones. There is also Lips Disco on the bottom floor and another bar upstairs. Went to the bar upstairs and they had some more dancers but was looking at going back to Cat Walk as I like the people there so back to Cat Walk to get a girl. After that we went bar hopping and at about 2AM she wanted to dance so we went to Lips Disco. This is the place to pick up freelancers or off duty bar girls. I don't dance but the girl I was with wanted to so I walked over to a girl sitting and asked her to dance with my girl. No problem and off they go dancing. In about 30-minutes ready to go and the girl dancing with my friend wanted to come. Unfortunately, the girl I was with didn't want to share so off we went by ourselves.

Now I get bored going to the bars after awhile and wanted to do something different. Was told that Pier One in Subic Freeport has great music. It can be difficult to get there unless you want to get ripped off getting a taxi. So picked up a girl and her friend and off we went on the Jeepney. Now, you need to first get a Jeepney into Olongapo then you transfer to another jeepney which drops you off by an area that I believe is one of the entrances into Subic Freeport. Now, a Taxi ride from here is between 60-100 pesos but they said it was a short walk so off we went and got lost. After 45 minutes of walking around we finally found it. I must say I was impressed. Great bands, good food if you get hungry and reasonably priced. I think I spent about 700 peso the whole night and that was with us all drinking a number of beers and eating sisig and chicken. When we left I was smart enough to get a taxi and then two jeepney rides later and a short walk we were back at the hotel.

Next night decided to check out the shows/disco in Olongapo. I highly recommend you go with someone as there will be few foreigners in the bars. After getting a girl off we head on the Jeepney again. Can't remember the names but ended up in a disco where I was amazed at how many good looking girls were asking for me to dance (I ain't a great looking guy but I do speak passable Tagalog which shocked the shit out of them). My partner wasn't too happy with all the attention I was getting but it was a good night of fun. Again, if you go there I would not go alone.

The rest of the trip was much of the same. I didn't go to Ocean Adventure or the Tiger Park this time as I have done that before. P.S. Hope I got the names right

Overall, there are some good looking girls there and a lot less mongers then in AC. I recommend the trip if you have the time.

... First night went to Calapandayan ...
I hope I some day have your kind of courage ... But with your experience probably not worth it.

... It is about 15 minute walk and close by the Arizona Hotel (which is where I was originally going to stay). There is also a 7-Eleven there to get your soft drinks and snacks. ...
Just out of curiousity. Why you did not stay at Arizona?

... Was told that Pier One in Subic Freeport has great music. It can be difficult to get there unless you want to get ripped off getting a taxi. ...
I agree about music. Good bands playing covers of most popular hit bands they favor in Philippines. You will most certainly hear lots of Lady Gaga.

Taxi from Barrio Barretto is 400PHP for 20 mins ride. However, when leaving from Pier One I recommend getting official taxi at least to bus station near gate instead of some dudes hanging around with their civilian cars. I was ripped of 200PHP 2km ride to Victory Bus Station. I was not even going there. I told him to drive to SBMA bus station.

... So picked up a girl and her friend and off we went on the Jeepney. Now, you need to first get a Jeepney into Olongapo then you transfer to another jeepney which drops you off by an area that I believe is one of the entrances into Subic Freeport. Now, a Taxi ride from here is between 60-100 pesos but they said it was a short walk so off we went and got lost...Yes and yes. With blue Jeepney to Victory bus station and then yellow Jeepney line to SBMA gate next to OC (Olongapo City) Mall. I also got lost first time. It is not a short walk. I estimate about 2km and it is diagonal to street grid plan. Not trivial. There is shorter walk <1km from bridge mid point going from BB to Olongapo. Now it was closed and under repair. Imagine that. They do repairs;)

... Next night decided to check out the shows/disco in Olongapo. ... Again, if you go there I would not go alone.
Never had courage myself. Sometimes I have felt uneasy walking day time outside main streets.

... The rest of the trip was much of the same. I didn't go to Ocean Adventure or the Tiger Park this time as I have done that before. P.S. Hope I got the names right.Zoobic Safari and Ocean Adventure. Official taxi from SBMA bus station was 400PHP for both but I noticed already being in taxi that there is a bus transport leaving from bus station to Ocean Adventure. Zoobic was reasonable price but Dolphin Encounter in Ocean Adventure for two was almost 9000PHP on entrance. Plus eating, photos of dolphin encounter and souveniers. She really enjoyed it though. I must admit dolphin ride was great experience for me too :)

It Overall, there are some good looking girls there and a lot less mongers then in AC. I recommend the trip if you have the time.

Just out of curiousity. Why you did not stay at Arizona?
Probably because for a 1,000 P (rainy day promo; you have to ask for it) you get a clean, relatively new room with aircon, hot water and cable. As far as I know, it is the best room that a 1,000 pesos can buy in Baretto/Baloy. Arizona rooms, as I remember, are considerably more expensive.

Barrio Barreto and Olongapo City are still very much alive and well.

The girls and punters in many places will try to hustle you though, pushing and pushing lady drinks, and trying to get you to pay much-higher-than-average bar fines, like everywhere really.

Good rule of thumb, 1500 maximum, 2 lady drinks maximum. If she pushes for more then she doesn't like you and you're experience with her won't be that great anyway.

I'm a newbie will be visiting in Dec. I have some experience with Manila but this is the first time I am visiting over the Christmas.

Is it worth visiting Subic or Sabang over Christmas / Boxing Day? Will the bars and gogos be open or does everything shut down?

What about Manila in general, does everything shut down over Christmas and reopen for New Year's eve?

Any information will be much appreciated.

I suspect many of the p4p gals will stay at work for Christmas tips and find their way home for New Years. I spent one Christmas in Manila when Baywalk was still open and the area was flooded with people -- and one of the worst Roxas traffic jams I've ever experienced. It's too bad the Baywalk is gone. This question in intended for someone who have been to both places and can give me answers from experience.

Been to AC and while the action can't be beat there along with the price. There is not enough to do (aside from barhopping). So thinking of going to either Subic Bay or Puerto Galera as they both have beaches and both are not too far in terms of travel from Manila.

Which place would be better for the overall experience (including beach for swimming/ snorkel or possible diving) for the daytime activities and of course the nite life (mongering), also which places would be more expensive, hotels and mongering.

Thanks

The water is going to be much cleaner at the beaches near Puerto Galera. Subic Bay has a bit of industry and probably a fair bit of sewage as well. Prices won't be so different. I won't comment on the night fun since I went to Subic with a companion and never made it to the bars (at least not in this particular century). X

I agree Swimming and scuba diving is much better at Puerto Galera, the water at Subic is murky but if you like wreck dive is good, but night life and bar action is much better and more hotel avalible, I like Sabang and white beach if you want to have a quiet place to relax after some nice scuba diving.

Thank you anyone who can help a Pattaya Kiwi. Don't know specifically where to hire (or did you actually mean rent?) a bike in Subic, but visit the Arizona Hotel in Barrio Barreto and I'm sure they'll be able to point you in the right direction. They're good like that. Service, food and rooms at the Arizona are also pretty decent, and you can walk to the bars from there as well. Google 'them.

Rooms at Blue Rock are a bit dumpy these days. However, I very much recommend visiting the Blue Rock floating bar. I once actually took a girl from the floaty and charged the barfine to my room tab, but that's not a story to tell here.

For transport to AC:

www.actiontravelAC.com

Or.

www.beelinetravel.com

Or hire a taxi at MNL or catch the bus from the Swagman Hotel.

Don't know about the Subic International, but I can tell you that the Orchid Resort is pretty nice, much nicer than Blue Rock.

That's all I got.

If Blue Rock would upgrade their rooms and provide for bigger beds it would, in my opinion, be the perfect place to stay.

Does anyone know if the owner has any plans to upgrade?

1. Location on the beach.

2. Excellent food at the hotel restaurant.

3. Floating bar.

4. Jet Skiing.

5. SCUBA diving.

6. Decent nightlife in Barrio Baretto only a 2-minute trike ride away.

Please explain why you think it would be perfect?

Thanks for the report.

You should offer to buy them a bed for a discount.

Does anyone know if the owner has any plans to upgrade? They are the nicest people and great location. But the beds are the worse I have ever seen and slept on.

Of course the beds were so bad that I have not gone back there in over one year other then to eat.

And hang out on the floating bar.

They have done some upgrades but don't know about the beds?

Went to dream land and liked the beds but the pillows were awful. So now I take my own pillow

Went to dream land and liked the beds but the pillows were awful. So now I take my own pillowI was there about a month ago and found the room small and painted dark-blue, but the bed was new and comfortable. It was also smaller than I would have liked. Much to small for three people to sleep comfortably.

I took two girls from the floating bar and slept between them. Flat on my back like a sardine in a can. It sucked.

So, One girl max capacity.

I was generally OK with it as I did not spend much time in the room. I was either at the floating bar, the barrio bars, the hotel bar / restaurant or jet-skiing. Highly Recommended!

I like the Subic Bay area because I can split the day up between beach activities and pussy hunting. I also have a soft spot for the place since being stationed there with the Navy in the late 70's.

My formula:

Stay at Treasure Island.

Breakfast at Coffee Shop.

Drink days at Bluerock floating bar.

Drink nights Wet Spot, Upper Lips, Jailbreak.

(Repeat until the liver implodes or you run out of vacation time and / or money)

Since I`m no fast food junkie, I was wondering what the food standards are like in Subic Bay area? Been in Angeles City, good food was not easy to come by. I love my greens and Seafood, this is important to me, a little discussed issue on the forum. Without the correct fuel our bodies do not function in top gear, if you get my meaning.

Below is a Prawn Salad I prepared for myself just of recent, went down well. Yummy!

My women come cheap, my food...not:D

My women come cheap, my food. Not. The Blue Rock BBQ is pretty good. If you don't eat any meat, they have a nice spread of veggie stuff. As for good but inexpensive food, go to Sit'nBull. It is on one of the side street from national highway (the main road through Barrio). If I remember right the street crossing the highway where Lips is. In general don't expect the quality to be much different than AC. There are couple of decent places in the free zone as well. Don't remember the names though.

Just spent this past weekend in Subic. I stayed the first night at Arizona Resort and was pleased to see the improvements at this place. The new owner use to own Blue Rock. The rooms are clean, the food is good and the staff are friendly Rooms start at 1200 peso. I stayed in the Superior for 2700 a night.

They also have Score bar on the premises with about 20 or so girls. No stunners but a little something for all as well as their new floating bar which is now open.

The next 2 nights I stayed at Palm Tree resort, located just up from Arizona on the beach. Very nice rooms with flat screen tv, balcony with views of beach for 2700 peso, small but decent pool and nice open air bar.

I found the food to be very mediocre, and their steak which they advertised as one of the best to be real s@$.

Nice place to stay but you would do better to eat else where. Staff not as friendly as Arizona and I think the vibe is better at Arizona.

Mangos next door was really good for breakfast.

London Underground Fish &Chips located next to the Office Bar had some good reviews, but do not waste your money here. Very bland and apparently the original owner sold out 2 years ago.

Texas Joe's Ribs in Free Port Subic, brand new building with imported kitchen equipment from USA. Food looks good on plate but I found the Ribs to be better in margarita Station Angeles.

I manged to visit five other bars while there:

LowerLips bar- Not as exciting as when this bar had first opened. Girls do not seem to have as much energy. About 16-20 girls were there. Maybe 2 I would consider for bar fine.

Upper Lips- Not the kind of bar I would spend the evening drinking in. Like some ones dingy rec room. However did see several very attractive girls that had already been bar fined.

Club. Next door to Lips bars. Bigger bar with about 20 girl working. Several new girls and Cherry Girls according to mamasan. Had a drink with one of the Cherry Girls. Very poor english but tall and sexy.

Red Hot Zone- MY first reaction was this is a dump, bt after my first drink I called a girl down and ended up on the couch at the back of th bar where they even dim th lights for you. Think this could be a fun bar for some drinking. Not a large selection of girls but again we all have different tastes.

Rosie's Tavern- Manager was friendly and welcoming. Small selection of girls. But I found the best looker of my Bar Hop. Her first night, petite, sexy and friendly.

Bar fines are all 1500 peso and lady drinks were 120 peso. Never had any girl ask for double LD or SM beer.

This was my fourth visit to Subic. I really think living in Angeles spoiled me as the bars just do not measure up.

If you want a short relaxing visit with a bit of fresh air then Subic is ok and close to Angeles, but if you really want a beach vacation look else where.

AS for girls, the selection is small and the bars are in my opinion not as lively as Angeles.

And yes, living in AC (you lucky dog) can spoil any man with a working dick.

Hope to make it to Subic on my next visit to Phil.
