Overall Impressions
Recently spent a few days in OT and took out a different girl from OT 3 nights in a row. Visited Ipanema and (briefly) Peyton Place. If your budget allows go for the escort services, no matter what others say.

The Holiday Inn Atrium is totally girl friendly, no need to register your friend or copy her passport or any of that. Like many hotels in Singapore, however, a key is needed to access the guest floors. So, you will either need to go down to the lobby to meet your companion, or grease the palm of the concierge and let him know you are expecting some company and that you'd really like him to make sure she gets to your room with no hassle. It should not be a problem, it happens all the time.

Just to add to EM's comments, as an alternative to the agencies, at many hotels in Singapore the Bell Captain will be happy to fix you up with some company. Often they'll arrange a line-up. Can be very handy if you're feeling lazy, just be careful not to overpay. Wherever you source your companion there will be no problem with the hotel. I visited Singapore last week. Spent most evenings at Brix, frankly have not tried any other places there. I have read reports of aggressive pushing by girls, especially in OT, which is not the case here. So you can be on your own or with friends and not be disturbed by girls trying to fall all over you. I visited the place after almost six months, the prices seem to have shot up there and the quality of girls seems to have dipped (although you can see a lot of old timers), am not sure if the booming property prices in Singapore have anything to do with it.

Sudsoz is right, not much chance downtown, and almost no chance for the large hotels. Cheapest large hotel I've had this year was Orchard Parade (opposite OT) from wotif.com @ S$125/ US$85. You'll be lucky to find this rate at the moment. Some alternative (smaller GF hotels) to try: Hotel 81, Parkview Hotel (+6563388558), Oxford hotel (+6563322222). Easy for that money in Geylang and plenty of action. See the Geylang thread.

All hotels in Singapore are GF. Geylang has a whole hotel industry built on GF. The only places that may not be entirely so are hostels and small family run guest houses. Any of the (many) Hotel 81 at Geylang should be S$60-S$70. Also try the Fragrance hotel chain.

If you are so inclined you can bring an OT girl back to Geylang, late evening is maybe 15 minutes / S$12 by taxi.

Hotel 81 don't have in room safe, but can store valuables at reception. Not sure about Fragrance.

However they are at least reasonably secure, being large chains with some sort of reputation to uphold. I regularly keep cash, laptop etc. in room (but not on display) and so far, no problems. YMMV of course but Singapore is low crime and police would be expected to take theft from hotel rooms seriously, especially if staff were involved.

I have had some pretty bad experiences with escort agencies in Singapore. It's been a while, so I don't remember which, but I assume most have the same practices. Maybe I'd disagree with Geylang as 'dirty' but I certainly agree about Geylang (and to some extent Orchard) SW performance. Choose carefully. I usually avoid stunners, and offer lowball money but make it clear a decent tip will follow (and is delivered) if service is good. There's a good recent report about a Geylang PRC SW starfish in the GL thread. More consistent service in the houses and fishbowl places. My observations and experience at Blue Banana BB.

It is so easy here you cannot fail. Plenty even within walking distance. Chinatown is an interesting 15 minute (1km) stroll away. I'm not a regular patron but there's a good concentration of massage joints on the upper floors of Peoples Park Centre, Furama Hotel, Chinatown Point, Pearl Centre, and other buildings in the vicinity. It is so easy here you cannot fail. Plenty even within walking distance. Chinatown is an interesting 15 minute (1km) stroll away. I'm not a regular patron but there's a good concentration of massage joints on the upper floors of Peoples Park Centre, Furama Hotel, Chinatown Point, Pearl Centre, and other buildings in the vicinity. Check prices at a fixed price electrical store like Harvey Norman (many outlets), Carrefour or somewhere like Mustafa Centre. Mustafa centre is basically a 24 hour department store that sells just about anything you might want at fixed, usually decent prices. Mustafa centre is close by Farrer Park MRT or any taxi driver will know.

Bargaining is common in smaller outlets and in places such as Sim Lim Square (IT Mall) and the malls around Orchard. As a big generalisation Indian run stores are more likely to sell at fixed prices. The trick is to know the 'right' price and be careful *exactly* what you are getting. This includes guarantees and 'accessories', which some might regard as essentials.

The larger stores (even around Orchard) can offer better (fixed price) deals, especially at sale time. Check the weekend Straits Times for offers.

My personal view, bargaining is too much hassle for too little gain. It's possible to get better pricing, but takes some work, especially if you are white! Generally I use Mustafa and the fixed price stores. Not sure if you are based in BKK but I always found that city great for shopping.

I bargain for one thing only, girls are never fixed price. Save your bargaining skills for that and you'll save far more;)

If you go to Sim Lim Square or similar places where bargaining is required you need to know about the gear you are buying and make sure that you get the model that you think you are getting. If they do not like where the price is going they are expert at the 'bait and switch' tactic.

To the sage words offered by others here, I'd add the warning that if you buy a cellphone in Singapore it won't be covered by warranty anywhere but in Singapore. I've dealt with several instances where a phone goes belly-up once it's back home, within the 12 month warranty period, and the customer has had to pay top dollar for a repair.

(The fact that you're also asking about buying a microwave oven makes me think you're perhaps shopping for only local Singapore use, but just in case...)

As it stands, these days I rarely buy any electrical goods in Singapore. Prices aren't that much better than I can get at home with a little shopping around, and I prefer the peace of mind for dealing with a local distributor if things go swekiff.

If you're intent on shopping for CE gear in Singapore, however, then you're right to steer clear of most places along Orchard Road (and especially Lucky Plaza!). If you go into a place where bargaining is the way it's done I suggest doing a few 'observation runs': drab a bottle of water or ice lemon tea and just saunter around, perhaps tailing a few other tourists who are shopping for similar to what you want and look like they have an idea of what they're doing, just to get a feel for how they negotiate, what their tactics are.

This will make the experience less foreign and more familiar when it's your turn, so that you can concentrate on getting the best deal (which can often come down to getting the salesperson to add some useful accessories rather than just dropping the price all the time).

Maybe I missed something here but I've no experience of 'lady drink' type action in Lucky Plaza. It may well be there but many regular bars also. Peruse the building at night and you'll find a selection of mostly small bars, some with music, pool, karaoke, EPL etc. Often mostly local Filipina clientele, but you'll be welcome. Beer cheaper than OT.

Fewer bars than OT and many customers on a 'regular' night out, not hunting. Some places you may be approached with an explicit offer others not. But there is action there and you shouldn't have much trouble finding someone to leave with you. Both full time and part time Filipina p4p, and of course regular girls. At night the building is pretty empty, so easy to find the bars and easy to strike up conversation with those milling around.

Can be a bit more effort than OT, but stick your nose in a few bars, enjoy a beer and see if it suits. Not far to other options (including OT) if it's not your thing.

LP is worth a visit in the daytime also, with fair chance of a pick up. For visitors, as has been mentioned in recent posts, I'd stay away from electronics shopping, but otherwise you can get pretty much anything you might need in the building. This includes the money changers, who in my experience offer good rates (especially good for Orchard Road) - ask the rate before showing your hand. For European/USA visitors you will get much better rates here than at home.

I arrived at LP around 830-900pm. The bar I'm talking about is called Magsaysay(?) in the back on the right as you walk in from the front on Orchard Rd.

Unless you resemble some notorious non payer whose description is doing the rounds then you're only losing your mind if you comply. 9 times out of 10 pay up front will get you poorer service and an early exit. Sudsoz is right, offer low and make clear a tip will follow if you're happy.

This problem does seem worse than at some times than others, either due to coaching from the pimps / agents, or a larger than usual number of chumps in town, making it easier for the girls to get away with. it's up to the customer of course, but personally I have *never* paid up front for an OT girl, to the point of having to decline a few that I've fancied.

In response to a PM I will repeat that bad news about both Orchard Tower and Paramount Shopping Centre being closed down for redevelopment in the next year or so.

Singapore is one of the top countries in Asia for medical/hospital procedures (along with Hong Kong). Modern medicine is practice here along with all the usual modern equipment you'll find at home. Top notch med but check if your medical insurance will cover you in Sgn (mine does but don't think even they cover hair/cosmetic) so don't know what will be out of pocket money if you had to pay in cash. If money is the issue, best to go to BKK as some of their hospitals as some are also fairly modern at cheap price (compare to home).

The following from the list are in Chinatown and less than 15 minutes walk away. The concierge (or anyone) will set you right, ask for Peoples Park Centre, Chinatown Point or Chinatown MRT, many reasons to go to these buildings so if it's important no one will figure you're a monger. I certainly wouldn't want to discourage anyone from taking Viet from OT, I was just never able to make the right deal, and others have great reports. Maybe I should head to Saigon.

Sound advice for anywhere if you're in a pay first situation, without incentive the girls will often bail, especially if you're close to base and there's time to turn another trick. The prospect of a tip may keep them focussed.

Not advice, but as personal style, when hunting I wouldn't usually go for an obvious stunner, or a girl who was too upfront. Look in the shadows, for those that maybe aren't so sure of their hotness (and value). After a stretch at OT I've seen 'em change, but nice while they're fresh ;)

almost all massage joints and hc mentioned here will consistently offer extra service, often including bbbj. however straight massage shops do exist and both the level of service offered and the quality of provider vary.

Zhang Doe, could you mention some of the MPs that you like, and location?Of MPs, there are two types. Sometimes I go for the nicer health centers. There are two on the fourth floor of Cuppage Plaza. One is Pissa and the other is Monte Carlo. I like Pissa management better. Monte Carlo is a new place, and the mirrors in some of the rooms are a nice touch, but the lady manager will lie to you straight to your face about availability and make crap recommendations of girls.

The other type are the down and dirty MPs. You'll find a lot of these on the second floor of the building next to Cuppage that has all the tailor shops downstairs (before Le Meridien). But make sure you get a good service provider. Some of the girls, you can tell they're cold and professional and won't let you do anything beyond lay there.

Don't let your little brother do your thinking on this, or you're just pissing money down the drain.

You are pretty close on the prices, especially for the "extras". However, everything is negotiable there. If you are a smooth talker, you may get a little lower price on the extras.
The price paid to the establishment will vary from one to another along with the time period. Most will offer two options, say 30 or 60 minutes time.
Best bet is that when you get to Singapore, pick up a copy of the New Paper. You can get it at any newstand or 7-11. A large amount of MP establishments advertise in this paper. There are probably about 1 or 1+1/2 pages worth of adverts. They will list special promotional prices. Some are less than others. Check it out.

My experience in Singapore has been that most "sessions" are 45 minutes. If you really want a massage plus full-service, you may want to consider asking for 1.5 sessions - roughly an hour - rather than a double session of 90 minutes. Most places will pro-rate the house fee, which is generally around 1 Singapore dollar per minute, or slightly less. For example, 45 minutes might be S$40 or even S$36. Tony's suggestion about the New Paper is good for checking out the per session charges to the house.

Once in the room, I suggest you take charge immediately. Best is if you know the name of a recommended masseuse from reading reports about massage in Singapore. If you are accepting "next available lady", do NOT be shy about asking to change if the first one sent is not to your taste.

And once you decide you want the lady, you have two choices. First is to pretend to be there for a massage, and let her pretend to massage you (some actually give a reasonable massage but most are pretty lame). Before very long, she will angle towards additional services if you offer any encouragement whatsoever, and sometimes may ask even if you play totally straight.

But if you are going for sex, better to tell her that you want full service and say "please go and get your things now", from the first minute that she walks into the room. She will definitely leave the room at some point to get a condom and perhaps to apply lube, and to run down the clock on your session time (grin - its true). So by telling her up front that you want full service first and massage after, at least you help her understand that you know the system. You might even try confirming start time on the session only after she turns up the second time with her "barong-barong" (Malay for "things"), but that will not always work.

If you let her start a massage - whether or not you are clear up front that you want full service sex, or blow-job, or whatever your intent - then when it comes time for her to switch to extra services, she will interrupt the proceedings and disappear. I always prefer to get that interruption taken care of before anything starts.

Be clear that your negotiating position is stronger before you touch her, or she touches you. If she doesn't ask what you will pay, then assume $100 for full-sex even if she tells you differently afterwards. If she does ask, then tell her $100, though these days they often counter with $120 or even $150, and some of the really hot ones will insist on that higher number.

If it is the beginning of the session, you can always ask for another woman if you don't like her attitude or her price. But if she has begun massaging you, and you already have your dick at half-mast or full-on erection, then you pretty much are stuck paying what she asks, or spoiling the mood by haggling, whether or not you are successful in taking the price down.

Worst case, you simply go with the massage for the full period, because there is no way that the house will refund your session fee unless you are amazingly persuasive.

Finally, if for some strange reason you are going to one of these dodgy massage parlours and really do want a good massage, then state very clearly up front that you are there "only" for massage. They likely will have some middle-aged woman who can really do a proper massage, and if you only want massage and don't say so early, you will probably [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140)-off your masseuse who makes most of her money from the "extra's" she sells you.

If you are greedy and want "both", then consider doing two sessions. One where you are clear that you want full-on sex and the other where you say plainly that you want only massage - in whichever sequence you wish. But better to have the "sex" conversation in the privacy of your room with your masseuse. Don't try and transact for sex at the front-desk, because even though prostitution is legal in Singapore, massage parlours are way out of bounds if they offer sex, and they all know it (even though they all do it).

I usually visit MPs than going to OT or Geylang. I've experienced the good and the bad. However, the overall experience is much better than OT + Geylang. I've had worse experiences with escorts too. They end to be expensive and hurried. While I don't like going to OT because I find it too dark and overcrowded.

As for MPs, you do need recommendation. If not you might get some bad 'apples" too.

I can only think of two reasons to call an escort service in Singapore. Reason #1 is that you can't afford to be seen around the areas frequented by working girls. Reason #2 is that you care less about value-for-money and choice-of-poon than about having door-to-door delivery service.

I have actually had a couple of ok experiences with escort services in Singapore, but it is hit-or-miss, and more expensive than going out to do your own shopping.

Orchard Towers will be rocking until the wee hours, and so will Geylang. Read the Geylang thread for tips on where to find street-walkers (if you want to take advantage of your hotel room). Also read the Geylang thread for background on how the (perfectly legal and bargain-priced) brothels operate. Street-walkers are strictly illegal in both Geylang and Orchard Towers, but enforcement is decidedly lax. If you don't know anyone in Singapore, then go to the source (either of those two places, and many more if you read the forum in detail), and choose your own date for the night. Escort service is strictly a last resort, and more costly to boot, with no service guarantees.

Sorry to disappoint further, but I'm not a big user of MP's apart from the straight Thai massage place I sometimes recommend. As a customer there's just one regular HC girl who is nothing special but I enjoy to see.

Happy Fucker, my best advice to you is to switch to Geylang if you are tired of Orchard Towers. Massage Parlours in Singapore should ONLY EVER be considered if you have fully researched the available "Ang Pais" (literally Red Card, but local slang for "star performer"). If you are going into any massage parlour "cold" then according to me you will do better at Orchard Towers 99 times out of 100. And those are pretty compelling odds.

If you absolutely, positively gotta try a Singapore massage parlour, then do your homework - either read the forum here, or else go do web search via Google. Type in health centre and KTV (Karaoke TV lounge) to screen out the legitimate health centres, and follow the links to read about various.

Unless you can't risk being seen in Orchard Towers or Geylang though, I strongly recommend you stick to those proven options rather than rolling the dice against long odds in one of Singapore's dodgy health centres.

The bars at PSC are all BmD bars so it is not like OT where the gal will go with you as soon as the deal is cut.

However some gals will go with you after closing and some will do afternoon assignments. Usually this is a ''freeby'' basis but there will be requests for gifts etc so it is not really free.

With this sort of girl I find the experience a bit more natural - especially in comparison to the highly commercial chicks from Ipanema.

Staying at Roxy you are in a good position to get the girls interest but you need to be willing to hang out until closing time.

Spending some time in Singapore these days. In answer to question that I asked several weeks ago: I find that there are short term-hotels not too far from OT which are located on Bencoolen Rd. All of the providers in and around OT know about these places and they will suggest them if you are unable to use your own hotel. Bencoolen is down Orchard toward the financial district and it is two MRT stops from OT. That would be the Dhoby Gault MRT stop. With no traffic, it is a five minute taxi ride. There are several hotels around the intersection of Orchard and Bencoolen. One is Hotel 81 and another is the Strand. Many of the workers in and around OT actually are staying in one of the places on Bencoolen. I hope this information might be of use to others.

My experience is variable, with PRC providing both the best and worst results of my Geylang excursions.

You may have problems in negotiating if you don't speak Chinese, though local mongers are friendly and may help. Price is easy, as long as you remember that 4 fingers=S$40 not S$400, but getting the service level you want may be more of a problem. I never had a dispute over price, but have experienced pretty poor service on a couple of occasions and excellent service on others. I've generally stayed clear of the real lookers as unless you've enough Chinese to keep them on mission, poor service looks a likely outcome. My Mandarin course didn't cover coaching in sex acts.

As I've had universally good experience with the Geylang PRC who speak even limited English, poor service seems more a problem of communication than bad attitude. With other races English is usual, so no problem.

Some PRC may use a hotel, others may lead you to 'their room' in one of the clan houses. This may make a new visitor uneasy, but no need. If you are clear about what was agreed at the start then you should confidently resist any later dispute over payment. Unless you are aggressive and stupid enough to be looking for trouble, Geylang is perfectly safe.

That said, solicitation (Street-walking) is strictly illegal in Singapore, even if not enforced all that often. And most of the street-walkers in Geylang are in Singapore on social-visit (tourist) passes, so I wouldn't expect most of them to be looking for trouble.

With all the choice available on the street, probably better you stick to someone that you can communicate readily with. I agree with Blair that communication break-downs can affect your service. And if you are really concerned about being conned or cheated, then stick to the legal brothels (where prices are pretty transparent), and avoid negotiating with street-walkers entirely.

Don't take risks that make you really uncomfortable is generally a good rule to follow - whether about chasing poon or otherwise. Cheers!

Good report. Just to reassure other visitors that OT is not so full of ladyboys as you might think and really they not so difficult to spot. Recent posts in the photo gallery here may be educational. It's easy to overestimate the numbers of LB as by nature they are often more aggressive and more noticeable than the girls, especially around the entrances and stairways.

LB are not evenly distributed amongst the bars either. Places like Ipanema or Peyton, for example, will have few if any. On the other side, having sometimes observed the Crazy Horse clientele from the adjacent Thai cafe I can't imagine why anyone looking for real women would go inside. LB's from Crazy Horse often eat at this cafe but when 'off duty' don't hassle at all.

This is a standard OT pimp / taxi driver line. Like taxi drivers anywhere in Singapore and your hotel bell captain, they know where girls, often of decent quality, are holed up. Don't expect bargains from outside OT, but it can be a useful route if it's very late, and nothing around OT is taking your fancy. Definitely a good move to turn a few down and then not budge from the agreed price.

I'm not sure I'd recommend the 'pimps tour' for a newbie, simply because you may have little idea where you're being taken, but no need to worry about violence or being robbed. Unless you go looking for it, you are highly unlikely to get any trouble anywhere in Singapore. In a licensed taxi it's almost unheard of. In any city, a friendly taxi driver, who isn't too greedy and doesn't play you like a chump can be a great asset.

For those uncomfortable with the tour, as in KL, many taxi drivers/pimps/bell captain will bring you a carload to choose from.

Both ways, don't overpay, if they think they can overcharge, they will. Supply is strong and even a new visitor should be able to get a decent looking girl for 2-3 hours for S$200. If the girls aren't up to standard or prices are hiked there should be no problem to decline, but S$10 or so towards transport won't go amiss.

Just a clarification about the Joo Chiat pubs.

The Viet gals are not tied to the pubs and actually wander from pub to pub and they are therefore free to go with you anytime but they will make a commercial choice on that based on things like the time of night, the price, volume of customers etc etc.

The pubs with Pinays generally operate similar to the Paramount pubs where the gals must stay until closing. Got up early to walk around. Rumors of an area I have never heard of, Petain Road, needed to be explored. A few blocks north of Little India, and it runs between Serangoon and Jalan Besar. Nearer to Sernagoon is an alley running south. The patrons seem to be Indian and Malay. There are a series of doorways along the alley, the houses. Inside each house a hall with doors, the rooms. I was there at 11AM, and many of the houses were not yet open. Prime time is said to be noon-6pm, but in fact it runs a little earlier and a little later than that.

Just to clarify, OT girls are not tested and the 95% who are in SG on a visitor pass are not legal either. The problem is working in SG without the correct visa. The location and type of work (including non P4P) are irrelevant.

now that it has been pointed out to me, i notice it everywhere. in the kuala lumpur (http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showthread.php?t=988) forum, it runs rampant in postings, written presumably by locals. i even heard it on television in singapore, in what appeared to be a locally produced sitcom. thanks. it's an interesting expression when used in english.

No my chinese is not good. But when I hear them speaking mandarin or cantonese I do not hear la la la the way the Singaporeans do.

The "la la la" is not very common in Chinese.

In Singapore, the 'la" is attached to the end of the sentence to just express the tone. I have had some Singapore man and woman talking to me with sentences like "Thank you la", "Ok la", "no problem la" etc.

No my chinese is not good. But when I hear them speaking mandarin or cantonese I do not hear la la la the way the Singaporeans do.

Had few days in Singapore. Stayed in downtown.

OT is still there. Although rumor say it will be remodeled soon. Ipanama is very crowded late in the night. Not much people before 9-10 pm. Very good ratio of girls to pick from. But perfect 10s are hard to find. Saw one very good looking Viet. But she was with some asian man. May be a pimp. Because I was approached by him at the orchard road entrance. Other than OT. One western traveller I met at Marriott outdoor cafe mentioned the Brix at Hyatt. Very good place. Lots of eye candy. And the girls do not harass you.
