Gentlemen,

I am in the U.S. Air Force and have spent a couple of years enjoying myself in South Korea. If you want to get laid all you have to do is find a taxi cab and tell the driver "you want a girl". It is that easy. If the driver doesn't speak English you can do the old finger puppet hand action (finger going through hole). If that doesn't work tell the driver you want "hop she da". That should have you on your way. I would advise only using drivers that speak English, that way he will understand when you tell him to wait for you. A lot of the roads in Korea are little village walkways that cars now drive on. It is very easy to get lost at night.

If you are in any of the cities that have juicy bar girls. Don't get stuck buying drinks. Go to one of the bars early, buy maybe one drink and ask the girl what time she gets off work. Tell her you will pay her later at the room. A lot of the girls have been tricked into working at the bars and only get a few cents on the drinks. She gets to keep all the money she makes at the room. Stay away from the shy girls, they are new to the life and more than likely will not go home with you. Look for the girl that is flirty and isn't afraid to drink alcohol. If you find one like that, she has probably been around the block a time or two and will know how to satisfy.

Almost every Korean train station is near a red light district. The U.S. military has made all train stations off limits to G.I.'s for this very reason. So if you find a passenger train station, "Po gee" is right around the corner. Po gee is the Korean word for pussy. "Cha gee" is the Korean word for dick. If you want to eat pussy say" Muh guh po gee". If you want a girl to suck you, say "muh guh cha gee".

I first was stationed at Kunsan Air Base back in the early 80's. Back then there were a lot of off limits barber shops and massage parlors. Now there isn't too many. If in Kunsan City, go to the bus stop where the base bus drops the G.I.'s off for shopping. There look for any taxi and tell the driver what you want. Chances are he will take you to the open market area. Right behind the market is an alley way where the girls are. Normally during the day time hours the girls are a sleep. When the actual market closes (night time) the girls come out and sit on little stools in front of their rooms. If you are in the U.S. service, be advised: Town patrol cruises this off limits area. If you are just walking around you are subject to getting taken back to base in handcuffes. If you are in the service get in and get out quickly.

I was last stationed in Korea three years ago and have travelled back there once since. Osan and the Army base areas are the easiest places to pick up the girls. Once in the Song tan area old ladies will approach you and ask if you want a young girl. If you say yes they will lead you to a hidden house with "yound girls". You will get what you want in these houses, but the conditions aren't the best for the girls. The old ladies treat the girls roughly and are pushy to the customers too. These women are hiding from the law, so they will push you to have fun in less than a half hour. If you are having a good time with a girl and you stay too long, the old lady will start telling the girl to hurry. Can be pretty frustrating, especially if you like the girl.

I am surprised that there is no mention of A-town on this site. A-town exists about 4 miles or so outside of Kunsan AB. Does it exists anymore. I was in Korea in the late 70s (78/79) and A-town consisted of about 18 bars and all the girls who worked in the bars lived in "hooches" there in A-town. Price back then was about $20 for all night. You could "Yobo" for about $100 a month. (That was living full time with one of the girls). Wow! How times have changed. Sure would like to know if A-town still exists and how it is today. Traveler.

Korea's sex industry is major money earner

Korea's sex industry generated 26 trillion won ($22 billion) in profits last year and employed about 260,000 women, including foreigners, a recent government survey found.

The Ministry of Gender Equality surveyed 5,600 karaoke clubs, hostess bars, massage parlors and night clubs in major cities across the country last year.

The profits from the sex industry made up 5 percent of the nation's Gross Domestic Product last year, making it larger than the agricultural and fisheries industry, which earned 24 trillion won in profits in 2002.

The survey found that 1 out of 25 women in Korea between the ages of 20 and 34 work in the sex industry, a number comparable to the 290,000 women of the same age group who worked in factory jobs in 2000, according to the Korea National Statistical Office.

"There were only 7,000 women who worked in traditional brothels," said a ministry aide who participated in the survey. "The number is less than 2 percent of the women in the Korean sex industry. Future government policies on the sex industry should focus on 'industrial prostitution' such as prostitutes who work in bars, cafes and massage parlors, while offering sex as an additional service."

Women who work independently were excluded from the survey. "If we include call girls, the number of women engaged in prostitution would exceed 500,000," a ministry official said.

According to reports by women's groups and the Korea Women's Development Institute, the scale of the Korean sex industry is far larger than the ministry is admitting.

Estimates by private groups of the number of women working in the sex industry have ranged in recent years from 514,000 to 1.2 million. "Saeumteo," a women's group in Seoul, said at least 7,096 women work in 1,442 sex-related businesses in Gyeonggi province alone.

"Now that we have these data, we hope to see the Gender Ministry come up with policies that bring harsher punishment for those charged in prostitution cases," said Park Sook-ja an adviser on women's issues at the National Assembly.

A slightly different version of the same story, from the Korea Herald, Feb 7, 2003:

SEX TRADE REPORTED AT 4.1% OF GPD

Korea's sex industry accounts for up to 4.1 percent of its gross domestic product (GDP), with over 330,000 women engaged in prostitution a report showed yesterday.

According to the report released by the Korean Institute of Criminology (KIC), the nation's sex trade was estimated at 24 trillion won (US$20.4 billion) last year, accounting for 4.1 percent of 578 trillion won, the total GDP.

The amount far exceeds that of the electricity, gas and water supply industry, which accounts for 2.9 percent of the GDP, and lags slightly behind the agricultural industry's 4.4 percent.

There are no guaranteed statistics on the sex industry, however, as prostitution is outlawed in Korea.

But the KIC said it calculated the volume of industry based on its survey of 5,403 sites providing sex services, such as bars and massage parlors, in Seoul and six other cities betweeen August and November last year.

The report estimated that up to 4.1 percent of Korean women in their 20s and 30s work in the business. This accounts for 8 percent of employeed women in these age groups.

About 358,000 men buy sex each day. Nearly 20 percent of men aged between 20 and 64 visit prostitutes on average 4.5 times every month, spending a sum that breaks down to 154,000 won (US$130) each time, according to the report.

The KIC said among the employers or brokers of prostitutes uncovered by police, an average of 76 percent were fined last year.

There has been a heated debate in Korea on whether to decriminalize prostitution. Proponents have claimed that legalization would make it easier for the authorities to supervise the sex industry and protect the rights and health of prostitutes, while opponents contended that the trade of women's bodies should not be encouraged at any cost.

And another look into this world:

From the Korea Herald, Feb 8, 2003:

GIRL CHARGED WITH LEAVING 75-YEAR-OLD TO DIE AFTER SEX

Police in Incheon said yesterday they arrested a high school girl on charges of leaving a man in his 70s to die when he needed emergency treatment after the two had sex.

The 16-year-old girl, whose family name is Kim, had intercourse with the man, surmaned Park, at a hotel in the port city west of Seoul Feb. 3.

Police said Park, 75, was bleeding and suffering respiratory difficulties when Kim left him behind in the hotel.

Kim is also suspected of taking 400,000 won from Park's pocket while the man remained unconscious.

the following report was in the korean herald on feb 12 2003

"teens sell sex after school"

"survey shows 1 in 2 teenage prostitutes live at home"

about half of all teenagers involved in **** prostitution attend school and live at their family home, according to a report
released by the commission on youth protection yesterday.
the report, based on investigation records of 414 minors selling their bodies, showed that 46.4 percent live with their families and 41.8 percent still attend school.
the commission said the report was compiled after a survey, and after analyzing written statements submitted to the police and prosecution by those who were confirmed to be the victims of sexual offenses in the past two years.
the report states "this challenges the common belief that prostitution involves only those who fled their homes or who are classified as problematic youths, and shows instead that prostitution has become popular, or at least not rare, among ordinary teens" .
it also cited what it called a shocking case of a 17 year old who said she once slipped out of school between classes, provided a sexual service and then returned to school.
as for what prompted them to join the sex industry, 51.5% said they needed money and 27.4% answered they had no alternative to meet living costs or had no place to sleep. about 7 percent said they did so just out of curiosity, and 3.9% said men seduced them.
asked what medium connected them to the sex trade, 58.7% cited the internet, and 13.2% mentioned telephone dialing services.
a total of 25.4% were aged 16, follwed by 17-year olds who accounted for 22 percent and 15-year olds at 21.7%. there was even a percentage for those aged 13 years old or younger at 3.9%
of their customers, 42.2% were in their 30's and 30.1% were in their 20's
about 55% of the teenagers said they usually had intercourse with one customer only once, while 30.9% said they met the same person between two to five times.

Picked this up from a friend.

STRANGE SEX LAWS

1. In Lebanon, men are legally allowed to have sex with animals,
but the animals must be female. Having sexual relations with a
male animal is punishable by death. (Like THAT makes sense.)

2. In Bahrain, a male doctor may legally examine a woman's
genitals, but is prohibited from looking directly at them during
the examination. He may only see their reflection in a mirror.
(Makes you hope you never need surgery!)

3. Muslims are banned from looking at the genitals of a corpse.
This also applies to undertakers; the sex organs of the deceased
must be covered with a brick or piece of wood at all times.
(A brick??)

4. The penalty for masturbation in Indonesia is decapitation.
(Whoa!)

5. There are men in Guam whose full time job is to travel the
countryside and deflower young virgins, who pay them for the
privilege of having sex for the first time...Reason: under Guam
law, it is expressly forbidden for virgins to marry. (Let's just
think for a minute; is there any job anywhere else in the world
that even comes close to this?)

6. In Hong Kong, a betrayed wife is legally allowed to kill her
adulterous husband, but may only do so with her bare hands.
The husband's lover, on the other hand, may be killed in any
manner desired. (Ah! Justice!)

7. Topless saleswomen are legal in Liverpool, England - but only
in tropical fish stores. (But of course!)

8. In Cali, Colombia, a woman may only have sex with her
husband, and the first time this happens, her mother must be
in the room to witness the act. (Makes one shudder at the
thought.)

9. In Santa Cruz, Bolivia, it is illegal for a man to have sex
with a woman and her daughter at the same time. (This was a big
enough problem that they had to pass this law?)

10. In Maryland, it is illegal to sell condoms from vending
machines with one exception: prophylactics may be dispensed
from a vending machine only "in places where alcoholic beverages
are sold for consumption on the premises." (Is this a great
country or what? ... Not as great as Guam, though!!)

I was sitting in a tabang in my city of residrence, and enjoying a cup of coffee with some of the agashis when in the middle of my speaking broken Korean one of the girls gave me the address of a big lesbian hangout in the city. I have since misplaced it, but I will try and retrieve it on another visit. Anyway one of the agashis said her sister went to one of their evening events, and said that they usually have a big strip show, and that they do something with a ball. I gathered that there is a country wide club scene for all the practicing lesbians in Korea to get to to-gether for social events now and again.

Don't worry about Miari being "off-limits"! There are foreigner's only places too (there are signs over the door). Since the middle of the summer, these places have had a real turn down in the sex business since the advent of a new rule placed on the military by USFK. Bar fines are now illegal for GI's. This is good thing or a bad thing; depends on your perception. Now the girls have to meet you in your hotel room or if you are a civilian, you have a much wider selection to choose from. This means the guy controls the situation and the girl gets to keep more of the money (prices should start to drop).
Since this has opened up some free lancing, things are looking up in the Tongduchon and Songtan areas. The free lancers are hanging out in the dance/disco bars now. They are easy to spot if you frequent the same place. They will be the ones sitting together, well-dressed and always there from opening to closing and paying for their own drinks. They will dance with their friends and try to get close to the foreigners in the club and bump into you for an introduction. They are everywhere. I have even run into ex-Miari girls in the Songtan area. There is also the Pyongtaek train station area. Be careful down here though because it is a good place to get rolled. If you still feel the need to go to Miari, you still can if you speak Korean and take along a well-dressed Korean friend.

The Korean Condom Trick:

Three times I’ve had Koreans slip a rubber onto my dick without me noticing. They put the condom in the mouth, then slide it on with their tongue as the suck (no hands!). The first 2 times it happened I had to stop the action as she started to mount me, as I thought it was about to be an unprotected session. Any other nationalities known for this?

Barber Shops

Just a tip from an old pro. Don't be shy about walking in and out of several of these places until you see that you are going to get a girl you are satisfied with.

I just play dumb, and ask a few stupid questions while I scope things out. Then I say "I have to run to the bank" or tell them I didn't know what kind of place it was and walk out.

This has kept me from being very disappointed many times.

Guys

I'm writing to this board in lieu of a "South Korean Women - Opinions and Advice" board which doesn't exist.

I'm in Japan making out with a really nice South Korean 21 year old (from an island off the South Korean coast). She's in Tokyo studying Japanese and doing a little bit of massage work (started a month ago) to help pay for her studies. I clearly am an object of interest to her, and I want to do something like give her a present or impress her in some way, but I don't know what South Korean gals like. She has had one boyfriend in South Korea, but is unattached at the moment. I had suggested lunch and she is receptive but not madly enthusiastic. I have subtly offered money but she doesn't seem to bite. What will impress her? Jewellry?? Clothes?? Handbags?? Suggestions please!!

Lubricate it,

There is no right answer here as it depends on the girl, and your motive. I've dated both K-girls and J-girls, and I've found they all respond well to just being nice and paying attention to them. Listening when they talk etc. I also generally take them out for a nice dinner and drinks and I usually have some fun later in the evening. But, my dates are usually in their late 20's and early 30's so maturity may play a part.

Good luck!

BR

p.s. The island your friend is from is called Jeju, and there's an old saying that the most beautiful Korean women come from Jeju. You might try that with her....something like "I heard the most beautiful women in Korea are from Jeju......etc etc."

Receiving Sexual Entertainment May Bring Disgrace

SEPTEMBER 13, 2004 22:06
by Jin-Kyeong Kim (kjk9@donga.com)

According to the new law, anyone who sets foot into an unlicensed prostitute quarters will have a series of disgraces brought upon them.

Cho Jin-kyung, the head of the “Together Again Center,” a support center for victims of sex trafficking, said, “As long as our society’s tendency of having a lenient attitude towards men who are buying sex exists, sex trafficking will not be eradicated,” and urged for a change in the understanding for sex trafficking along with a strict regulation upon men who buy sex.

With help from Prosecutor Bae Sung-bum of the Ministry of Justice, who is in charge of enacting this legislative bill, and Police Superintendent Lee Geum-hyung, the chief of the Department of Woman and Youth Protection in the Regional Police Headquarters, who will conduct this law in the lead, we inquired as to how this law will affect men who buy sex.

Does Sex Trafficking Call for Unconditional Penalty?—

The new law also sentences men who buy sex to “be imprisoned for less than one year or receive detention with a three million won fine,” similar to the existing Suppression of Prostitution Act.

But the truth is that, in the past, men who were caught buying sex were mostly freed after paying a small monetary penalty.

However, from now on, men who are caught buying sex will not only suffer actual punishment such as imprisonment, but will also be subjected to protective measures such as public service, probation, and off-limits in certain areas.

Of course, if the conducting of sex trafficking is not revealed, then a penalty will not be given. However, whatever the reason, if the accompanying woman reports a sex trafficking act to the police, then the man will be penalized without exception.

Why Are only Men Punished?—

Each country has its own different punishment measures for people who buy sex. For example, Taiwan punishes the woman who sells sex, but Sweden punishes the man who buys it.

The new law that will be carried out prescribes women who sell sex as “victims who need protection,” but on the other hand, accuses men based on the social agreement that men who purchase it amounts to an assaulter. Looking at the other side of this, there lies a major premise that asks, “What kind of a woman would sell their body with her own will?”

Therefore since it isn’t considered that women would have participated in sex trafficking voluntarily, that is why the punishment is applicable only to men.

The Drinking and Reception Culture Makes it Inevitable…—

This is only an excuse. After the office of National Tax Administration introduced a real-name system for receptions, these events taking place in establishments that does not only serve alcohol but other forms of “entertainment” are decreasing. This is evidence that the corruptive reception culture that leads to sex trafficking is changing. If someone must insist that a reception involving sex trafficking is inevitable, instead of healthy ways such as providing admission tickets for public performances, then they should prepare to deal with “a heavy blow.”

What about Private Sex Trafficking through Cellular Phones or Internet?—

A unit for devising a countermeasure for online sex trafficking will be organized and will be under crackdown.

It is commonly known that online sex trafficking is realized one-to-one, but it has been exposed recently that pimps are arbitrating the trafficking through the Internet.

Using the Internet because it costs less and because one can be guaranteed anonymity is a mistake; the Internet is much easier to crack down because back-tracking the IP address is available.

Have the Limits for Sex Trafficking Broadened?—

There may be a controversy whether the “action” conducted in lewd barbershops is to be considered as sex trafficking or not. However, we will take the matter flexibly by actually applying the law to practice.

Your answer is in the first paragraph. Visit only licensed premises from now on and you will be okay. It's a lot of nonsense (but serious nonsense). It may put massage parlors and juicy bars off-limits.

I suggest you get a girlfriend. That will eliminate the problem all together.

Prostitution is illegal, so for a place to be "licensed", I figure it needs to be legal in the first place... right?

Say goodbye to the districts! It might be time to start going to Thailand or Brazil.

Chopper Pilot
09-19-04, 02:06
Byung,

Your premise is not necessarily correct. Several countries in which prostitution is (or was) not legal, nevertheless recognise that it is never going to be eliminated. It is, after all, the longest standing paid job in the world.

In Singapore, prostitution is illegal - yet it flourishes to the extent that in the Geylang district alone, I would defy anyone with eyes not to be able to count no less than 1,000 street workers - from a range of Asian countries (Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, China, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, to name a few). The government institutes a policy of toleration, within certain areas.

In Australia, some States which have not legalized prostitution, implement a "containment" policy. Essentially, this operates as a "licensing" system - in that it limits the number of establishments permitted to operate - yet allows those with permits to do so (theoretically, in contravention of the law) PROVIDED THAT certain "rules" are followed. Almost all the rules provie for the health protection of workers and clients and act to protect women against exploitation. For example, all acts of BJ and FS are supposed to be done with condom. No-one under 18 (19 in Korea) is permitted to work OR enter brothel premises. Workers are required to submit to health checks AT LEAST once a month and - in certain States - men are not permitted to own or operate brothels.

The State of Victoria is diferent - in that the governemt legalized prostitution several years ago. This means, in Melbourne, you are much more likely to run into a male "manager", than not.

If the Korean governemt adopts a realistic attitude to the problem, then it would be likely to try to "contain", rather than "eliminate" (impossible) prostitution. Far more likely than the total closure of RLDs, is the pushing out to the fringe of traditional establishments such as juicy bars, hyugetels (stress clinics), turkey tangs (sports massage clinics) and double-pole barber shops. It also might be more difficult to negotiate with stret workers and, perhaps, some online sites will be closed.

I suspect more paid sex will be of the home delivery, "escort", type - but advertising may disappear - so keep those numbers handy, now.

Article below says it all. However, I haven't found BSs that hard to discover. Or maybe the definitions are different there.

Deeper cover for sex trade?
Sept. 23 Joong Ang Daily

As new anti-prostitution laws take effect today, some experts are worried that the stringent measures may result in an increase in even more clandestine illegal prostitution.
While well-known red light districts are an easy target for the police to identify, barber shops, massage parlors and room salons that are often act as a front for illegal prostitution are much harder to discover.
"Clients that want prostitution are mainly regulars. It's unlikely that they will inform the police. But the tougher measures will probably increase the cost," said a room salon manager who spoke under condition of anonymity.
Under one of the new laws, a person convicted of [CodeWord908] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908) in connection with prostitution will receive a prison term of at least three years with no maximum limit.
Experts also pointed out that it will be difficult for the measures to be really effective since participants must be caught in a sex act for punishment to take place. "The majority of room salons are linked with an elevator to hotels, hence it's hard to catch a crime scene. Even if caught, if the people in question argue they are in a relationship it's not easy to punish them," said a police official of the Gangnam district.
Meanwhile, at the "Miari Texas" shop in Seongbuk-dong, a well known red light district in Seoul, it's hard to find any customers Tuesday night. At the peak, 278 shops operated, but that number shrank to 157 last month. From an estimated 1,500 female prostitutes there are now about 900 left.
Nevertheless, the comments of one prostitute are a good indicator that it will take a considerable time for the new measures to truly take effect. "This is the only work I know how to do. If I can't work here I'll seek other ways," she said.

Hi Billy Q,

What is your salary per month in Korea Won, if it 2.5 Million Won and you don't have to pay for a pad, that will be more than enough to live. I'm assuming you will be teaching English. I lived in seoul for about 4 years, and had many friends that taught English. Advice that I can give is that you want to be based in Seoul, the outskirts from what all the ELS teacher have told me is really not the place to be. Also, if you can swing it, come to Seoul by your own means and then look for an ELS job (don't worry there are tones of them), it's not really a question of getting a job but more chosing the right place to work. I have heard horror stories of really shitty work environment, if you come already set up with a contract, you may be stuck for the entire 12 months, which can make your stay in Korea a living hell.

Advice, keep your sense of humor, accept that Korea is not North America or Europe, it's different and that's what makes it fun.

The girls are so fucking hot, I was completely shocked when I first arrived, I haven't fucked a white chick in over 5 years, really can't see the point anymore.

If you have any more questions let me know.

Hi Billy Q,

$35,000 per year plus accommodation even in Seoul would be good, but in Jeonju it should be better. I'm estimating, but Jeonju is probably about as expensive for general life as LA (except housing), and definitely cheaper than NY, Tokyo (or basically any Japanese city), or any European capitals. I live in Seoul, and living modestly, I spend about $1,000 outside of rent and utilities (aside from the occasional wild parties and room salons, of course).

As for taxes, you'll be paying between 10% and 20% of your total salary.

Actually, I assume your position is not teaching English, because that salary sounds high for areas outside of Seoul (even in Seoul, they usually only pay starting $25-30,000 a year). In any case, I hope it turns out as you have been promised, because these things have a tendency to get "lost in translation," as they say.

Anyone considering living out here in Korea must live in Seoul! Jeonju is considered the country side and definitely not for mongers like us. Come here with an open mind and if your willilng to accept these differences and accept a new culture, Korea can be a great place as long as you get paid and not shiited on by your employers.

Enjoy your time here and enjoy the natural resources (the women). There's plenty of them.

South Korean pleads guilty in Canadian-US prostitution ring

May 25, 2005

Boise — A South Korean citizen has pleaded guilty to smuggling 13 women and a man into Idaho from Canada as part of an alleged prostitution ring.

xxx Kim, 33, faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 (U.S.) fine. He entered his plea in U.S. District Court in Coeur d'Alene on Monday, U.S. Attorney Tom Moss said.

Another man, xxx Kim, 29, of Surrey, B.C., pleaded guilty to the same charge earlier this month. The two are not related.

In a plea agreement, xxxx Kim said he was paid between $300 and $350 for each of the 14 people, and said he knew they were illegal immigrants and could not legally enter the United States.

Investigators claim that on April 1, the two men drove together from Los Angeles, where xxx Kim lived, to Worley, Idaho, where xxx Kim dropped off xxxx Kim at the Coeur d'Alene Casino and Resort. xxx Kim then apparently picked up the 14 people near the Canadian border, but was stopped and arrested on Highway 95 by Border Patrol agents, who had been tipped off by an informant. xxxx Kim was arrested April 3 in Worley.

Authorities believe xxx Kim, himself an illegal immigrant, wanted to stay at the resort about 210 kilometres south of the Canadian border to avoid a chance encounter with U.S. immigration officials.

xxxx Kim is expected to be sentenced Aug. 2. A sentencing date for xxx Kim has not been scheduled.

U.S. District Judge Edward Lodge said during an earlier proceeding that there appeared to be strong evidence the women were intended to become prostitutes in California. The Idaho legislature has formed an interim study committee to determine whether [CodeWord908] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908) is on an upswing in the state following other reports of border smuggling.

Korean bars near Areas I bases trying to counter losses from Army curfew
Bars turning to food, focusing more on S. Korean customers

May 30, 2005

CAMP RED CLOUD, South Korea — Bars outside Area I bases that have catered only to U.S. soldiers are gradually refocusing their business to attract other customers, the Yonhap news agency reports.

Many Tongduchon bars, outside Camps Casey and Hovey, have closed in recent months only to reopen as restaurants catering to South Korean customers, the report stated.

And some bars now allow South Koreans and other foreigners during the early hours of the morning when U.S. soldiers are restricted to base by a curfew, according to the report.

The curfew and the U.S. military’s plan to move its 2nd Infantry Division soldiers south of Seoul in coming years have been hard on business, a Korea Special Tourist Association was quoted as saying.

Research by local government officials and Durebang — a non-governmental organization that works to protect women’s rights — estimates that 117 bars employing 456 staff cater to U.S. customers in Area 1.

Tongduchon has 84 bars with 314 employees, Uijongbu has 17 bars with 122 employees, and Paju has 16 bars with 20 employees, Durebang representative Park Jin-young told Stars and Stripes.

Does teaching in Korea require a university degree or can I pull it off with just a high school diploma? I am a native speaker and fairly proficient at that, but did not complete my post-secondary education. Can I give it a shot or would this entail a much lower salary, or what's the deal?

Anybody?

There are many horror stories our there, in fact I saw an entire site devoted to problems some native English teachers had encountered after they started the job and the schools did not honor their contract and vice versa. I would imagine that there are many university degree students/graduates who would have the edge on you but then it may depend on where and why you want to teach.

Here is a good link from the U.S. Embassy with advice on this subject (I'm assuming that you're an American, but if not much of this info still applies)

Read, do your homework, and conduct a thorough research before you sign the contract, the job does not appear to as attractive (in many forms) as one would think.

Nude beach planned on Korea's east coast

By Park Jung-youn
June 16, 2005

Kangwon Province is reviewing a plan to designate a nude beach on the east coast, an official said Thursday.

The province's environment, tourism and culture bureau has been toying with different ideas for new tourist attractions, including a nude beach.

``We are going to conduct a series of surveys on tourists this summer about their opinions on a nude beach along the east coast,'' provincial official Lee Myun-ki said.

``If tourists respond positively to the idea, we could go ahead with it, having a nude beach in Kangnung or Kosong," he added.

However, even if tourists were to approve the idea, the project may face many challenges along the way.

Residents and fishermen on the east coast are expected to protest strongly against it, citing the possibility of the beach creating an environment unsuitable for local adolescents.
More importantly, the nude beach may not draw as many visitors as expected.
``Nude beaches are a very radical idea for Koreans, and we are going to review it carefully," Lee said.

The survey will be conducted among visitors of east coast beaches and resort cities this summer.

If all goes well, the nude beach could open next year.
The plan is part of Kangwon Province's efforts to attract more domestic and foreign tourists and maintain the ones it has.

With the opening of the highway and bullet train service along the west coast, the provincial office has been voicing concerns about losing its seasonal tourists to other costal areas.
``Kangwon Province wants to continue to be the most popular domestic tourist destination," Lee said.

US officials ask if sex trade forced on South Koreans

Women allegedly not told they'd be prostitutes in US

By Heather Knight
July 4, 2005

More than 100 South Korean women who were taken into custody during a federal crackdown on alleged prostitution and [CodeWord908] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908) in San Francisco and Los Angeles are being interviewed to determine whether they were forced into the sex trade and how they were treated, authorities said Saturday.

The women allegedly worked as prostitutes at 10 massage parlors in San Francisco and one in Emeryville that were raided Thursday by hundreds of federal and local law enforcement agents. Authorities said the alleged San Francisco sex ring involved an elaborate operation that used a travel service to entice and bring in young women from South Korea and a cab company to shuttle them between brothels.

Authorities believe that operators of the alleged sex ring targeted women from impoverished parts of South Korea. The operators allegedly told the women they could work as waitresses and bar hostesses in America if each paid a fee of $10,000 to $15,000. On Thursday, agents arrested 27 suspects in Northern California and 18 people in Southern California believed to be involved in the operations.

The fate of the women will hinge on whether prosecutors determine they were forced to work against their will or whether they participated in the sex ring voluntarily, Bradley Schlozman, acting assistant US attorney general for civil rights, said Saturday. The determination should be made within the next three days, he said.

The women, who are being kept at an undisclosed location, will be considered victims of [CodeWord908] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908) if they were forced to participate in labor or commercial sexual activity, Schlozman said.

"The women need not have been locked in a room in order to be a victim of a severe form of trafficking," he said. "Maybe they've been forced to do this in order to pay off a debt that is unreasonable, and maybe there have been threats to their families or to them. It's a whole variety of considerations."

If they are found to have been victims, then the women will be provided with help from private organizations.

Ivy Lee, an attorney with Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach in San Francisco, said the immediate tasks would be getting the women health care, counseling and help for their children and finding them a safe place to stay, likely in a shelter for victims of domestic violence.

"We would focus on stabilizing her situation and trying to explain to her what her situation is," she said. "A lot of them are going to be confused about what the hell is going on. 'What's happening to me? What are my options? Am I going to jail? And also, who are all these people?' "

If law enforcement requires them to stay in the United States to help with the investigation, the women are entitled to the same health coverage, cash assistance and English classes that refugees and those seeking asylum receive, Lee said.

The women can at any time decide to return to South Korea, although law enforcement officials could then declare them a "material witness" to the case, forcing them to stay in the United States without any benefits.

The women can simultaneously apply for visas, which will allow them -- as trafficking victims willing to cooperate with law enforcement -- to stay for an additional three years. They are then eligible to apply for green cards.

Lee said one of the biggest threats to the women is if the alleged traffickers hire attorneys to find the women and offer them legal assistance. In the past, she said, lawyers for alleged traffickers would lure the women back into a sex ring.

If the women are found to have come to the United States illegally, but were not victims of trafficking, they would be deported. The federal government would not prosecute them for prostitution, although the San Francisco district attorney's office could file those charges, Schlozman said.

The women are now staying one or two to a room in a "secure and safe" facility that authorities won't disclose for fear of others involved in the alleged sex ring attempting to contact or harm the women in some way, Schlozman said.

Attorneys with the civil rights division of the US attorney's office, FBI investigators, immigrations and customs enforcement officers and linguists who speak English and Korean are all present at the facility, Schlozman said.

The women are being interviewed one at a time by federal prosecutors trained in dealing with victims of trafficking with a translator present. The women will be provided with legal counsel if they ask for it. Schlozman added they are not being interrogated.

"We're not trying to get any information on them for use in any kind of criminal proceeding," he said. "We're just trying to get information on whether they're victims

US busts tell sorry tale of Korean prostitutes abroad

Korean sex workers look for greener pastures

July 4, 2005

The number of Korean women looking for work as prostitutes abroad or being trafficked for the purpose is on the increase. Some 50 members of two gangs busted in California on Friday on charges of selling hundreds of Korean women to places of prostitution are just the tip of the iceberg.

Destinations for Korean sex workers are no longer limited to developed nations like the US, Canada, Australia and Japan. Korean police say the number of women working in bars, karaoke clubs and massage parlors in countries frequented by growing numbers of Korean tourists like Thailand, Vietnam, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan is increasing. Meanwhile in North America the realm of activity of Korean sex workers is spreading from major urban centers like Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York and Toronto to smaller cities and towns.

In February, it emerged that an organization sold 38 women to brothels in Australia, New Zealand and Canada in conditions of virtual bonded labor. Police say the organization would advance the women millions of won they had to pay back at 60 percent interest and forced them to pay medical expenses for diseases contracted on the job. The women had to sign up to a "code of conduct" that fined them US$300 for arguing with customers and US$50 for showing up a minute late to work.

At an international meeting on human traficking in Bangkok, Thailand last October, Kim Yeong-ran of the Naeil Women's Center for Youth said an increasing number of Korean men who go on sex tours abroad was paralleled by a growing number of Korean sex workers going overseas. Police said it appeared that since the Special Law on Prostitution went into effect in September, the number of pimps and prostitutes heading overseas was rapidly increasing. But they have no idea of the exact scale of the problem since most of the women leave the country ostensibly for tourism.

Meanwhile, federal prosecutors in the US have arrested 27 members of an organization who fixed Korean sex workers up with jobs in San Francisco, and are holding about 100 Korean prostitutes. In Los Angeles, which has a large Korean population, 18 were arrested on charges of smuggling Korean prostitutes into the country and setting them up in safe houses as part of what US prosecutors claim was one of the biggest prostitution busts in history. The nine-month investigation of Korean prostitution rings was codenamed "Operation Gilded Cage."

US authorities believe the gangs sold the women to places in Los Angeles, Texas, Colorado, Massachusetts, New York and Las Vegas after smuggling them in through Mexico and Canada, where they served local and Korean clients. Most had worked as prostitutes in Korea and went overseas as domestic anti-prostitution laws started to bite. Federal prosecutors said the gangs were abusing the hopes and dreams of immigrants.

Kind of a strange post, are you more interested in historic sites or sex? Thailand has just about as many, if not more historic sites than Korea. There's an abundance of tours they try to sell you the minute you land at the Airport. If you're looking for sex, there's no comparison, I never heard of any monger not having a great time in Thailand and unlike Korea, there's no crackdown and it’s much cheaper. Can you say Nana Hotel, Nana Plaza, Eden Club or Soi Cowboy?

Korean chicks are available if you come to Korea, but they will cost you more in terms of time and money. "Hotter" is subjective and depends more on what you like.

Bonuses for bikini-clad bathers anger South Korean women's group

July 13, 2005

Bonuses for bikini-clad bathers, while poular, are angering South Korean women's groups. Meanwhile plans for a nude beach further stir emotions.

Seoul - A local government campaign to attract more bathers to a South Korean beach resort by offering incentives to swimmers wearing bikinis has upset women's rights activists.

Ahead of the peak summer bathing season, Buan County administration southwest of Seoul renamed its Byeonsan Beach Bikini Beach and promised wearers of skimpy swimsuits a 10-percent discount on bills for hotels, meals and beach equipment rentals.

The county put up wall posters with pictures of bikini-clad beauties and the inscription: "Show off your beauty and get a 10-percent discount."

Women's groups denounced the campaign as exploitation.

"This is an outrageous attempt to stimulate the regional economy by exploiting the female sex," said a statement from the association of women activists of North Jeolla Province.

A campaign to attract more visitors should focus on publicizing the southwestern county's "natural beauty instead of the naked female body," it said.

"We are appalled at this preposterous campaign and cannot suppress our mounting anger," it said.

But officials at the Buan county office were unrepentant and said by telephone that they had no plan to stop the campaign.

"I don't understand why they are so angry. This is just part of a publicity campaign aimed at promoting the name of the Bikini Beach. We have no intention to exploit or commercialize the female sex," an official told AFP.

This latest controvery comes amid tentative plans for South Koreas first nude beach. Last month authorities in Kangwon Province announced that they would seek public support for their plans to designate a part of Kangnung or Kosong region beaches for nude bathers.

As a California native, I think everyone, or at least every straight heterosexual Korean American male realizes what Los Angeles and San Francisco have to offer in the Korean areas of town. You can pick up newspapers at any given Korean supermarket and find advertisements for massages all over the place! It's no surprise as outcall massage places, actual massage establishments, room salons are run by exported talent so to speak.

I have friends who love to play and every one of my buddies have told me that the girls are fresh off the boat, do not even speak a word of English and are somewhat familiar with what they are doing. I can guarantee that not all these girls come to America thinking that they will be a waitress.

Can anyone tell me what person in their right mind would come to America to be a fucking waitress?

Canada overun with South Korean women in prostitution exodus

July 13, 2005

New report says B.C. is a major hub for Korean sex trade workers as websites in Seoul urge women to go overseas and make up to $28,000 a month in massage parlours and bars.

A crackdown on prostitution in South Korea has triggered an exodus of sex trade workers to Vancouver, Toronto and cities in the United States, authorities in Seoul warn. Several human smugglers and pimps in Seoul have also posted websites in Korea urging the sex trade workers to make money overseas.
Korean media quoting local police said the sex workers are moving abroad after new anti-prostitution laws made the world? oldest profession more difficult at home.
They are heading for the U.S., Canada and Australia, but some settle for countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan better known for export rather than import of sex workers, one report said.

In North America, they apparently work in smaller cities and towns as well as big urban centers like Los Angeles, New York, Washington DC, Toronto and Vancouver, the report said. Hong Kong and Europe have recently been added to the list of destinations. It seems that since the Special Law on Prostitution went into effect, the number of pimps and prostitutes going abroad is skyrocketing,??a police officer said. "But we don't have the full picture since most leave the country ostensibly for tourism."

Dedicated web groups are awash with advertisements drawing prostitutes abroad.
A typical post on one such site boasting no fewer than 1,430 members said, 'we know that in Korea these days, unemployment, the recession and the Special Law on Prostitution make it hard to earn even half of what you made before. Try a new W8 million a month (CDN$9,500 to CDN$12,000) in a bar, W18-24 million (C$21,000 to C$28,500) a month in a massage parlor guaranteed. Advances possible. We take care of visas and bad credit.'

There are dozens of groups on the Internet portal site Daum that hook up women looking for work abroad with pimps. Most of the sites require detailed member registration. To join one group (www.cafe.daum.net/goldgold486) with 320 members, applicants must indicate their height, age, weight and work experience and upload a genuine photograph.
This month, federal prosecutors in the U.S. arrested about 50 members of two criminal organizations who fixed Korean sex workers up with jobs in San Francisco.

They are now holding about 100 Korean prostitutes, many of whom are believed to have entered the United States after arriving in Vancouver or Toronto. U.S. prosecutors claim the bust was one of the biggest prostitution takedowns in history. The nine-month investigation of Korean prostitution rings was codenamed 'Operation Gilded Cage.'

The women allegedly worked as prostitutes at 10 massage parlors in and around San Francisco.

The operators allegedly told the women they could work as waitresses and bar hostesses in America if each paid a fee of C$12,300 to C$18,600. The fate of the women will hinge on whether prosecutors determine they were forced to work against their will or whether they participated in the sex ring voluntarily, said Bradley Schlozman, acting assistant U.S. attorney general for civil rights.

The women, who are being kept at an undisclosed location, will be considered victims of [CodeWord908] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908) if they were forced to participate in labor or commercial sexual activity, Schlozman said. Police say the organization would advance the women millions of Won they had to pay back at 60 percent interest and forced them to pay medical expenses for diseases contracted on the job.

The women had to sign up to a 'Code of conduct' that fined them CDN $372 for arguing with customers and CDN $62 for showing up a minute late to work. At an international meeting on [CodeWord908] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908) in Bangkok, Thailand last October, Kim Yeong-Ran of the Naeil Women's Center for Youth said an increasing number of Korean men who go on sex tours abroad was paralleled by a growing number of Korean sex workers going overseas.

The U.S. State Department in a report last month said Canada is a primary destination and transit country for women trafficked for the purposes of labor and sexual exploitation.

The Trafficking in Persons Report 2005 said the majority of foreign victims transiting Canada are bound for the United States. Numbers are hard to gauge, but in February 2004, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) estimated that 800 persons are trafficked into Canada annually and that an additional 1,500-2,200 persons are trafficked through Canada into the United States. Some estimate that this number is much higher.

The report said law enforcement efforts in key provinces like British Columbia - through which a significant number of Korean and other female victims are trafficked to the United States - were weak in 2004. Canada struggles to identify trafficking victims inside clandestine migrant smuggling operations. There are growing concerns that South Koreans and others may be abusing the lack of a visa requirement to enter Canada to facilitate the trafficking of men and women, mainly to the United States.

To enhance its anti-trafficking efforts, Canada needs to use its anti-trafficking law to vigorously increase investigations, arrests, prosecutions, and convictions of traffickers, especially those who may be abusing visa waivers and entertainment visas. In British Columbia, a transit zone for trafficking to the United States, there has been few convictions, the report said.

Additionally, there continues to be anecdotal reports of large numbers of South Korean women trafficked through Canada to the United States. The lack of a visa requirement to enter Canada, lack of prosecutions, and an inability to determine the scope of the problem has made Canada, particularly British Columbia, an attractive trafficking hub for East Asian traffickers.

Airline passenger analysis shows that the number of Koreans returning to Korea on flights from Vancouver Canada is 25 percent less than the number arriving on flights from Korea, but the ties to trafficking are not known.
Observers believe that several hundred South Koreans have been trafficked through Canada to the U.S. since 2000, but they state that this estimate is modest.

They even go so far as to pay agencies to setup work-travel visas for them where they do the most crappy jobs, least of all being a waitress. I think that there might be gals who would fall for this, even if it's too good to be true.

But, you're right. If it says anything more than "waitress" or mentions ridiculous amounts of money, then they should know what they're getting into.

Yes. (English) teachers in Korea require an E2 (work) visa. An E2 visa requires a university degree.

That said, many teach here illegally. There are problems associated with this and recently, as with the crackdown on prostitution, there have been efforts to crack down on illegal teachers. There is in fact some connection... ;)

As a canadian, you have the easiest ability to teach here privately (illegally) because you get an automatic 6 month visa. This is the longest tourist visa. But, you might need to explain why you come and go every 6 months. Korea is not much of a tourist destination. You will also need to work in cash. But, each time you leave the country and return you will have a legal right to export up to US $10,000. This includes wire transfers or cash out of country. You can always just mail money home as well.

Two-Thirds of Married Women 'Can Imagine Affairs'

Celibacy Is Bad for You: Survey

If one day your wife looks out the window and starts smiling for no reason you can discover, it may be because another man is in her heart. "It started out of curiosity," says 38-year-old Kim Yeong-mi (not her real name). Three months ago she met an old classmate through her Cyworld blog. They had dinner together, short dates grew into long drinking sessions, and one thing led to another.
"When I heard him say, 'You're still as pretty as ever,' I felt like a woman for the first time in a long while. It had been ages since I heard that or got that feeling from my husband."

The entire time she dated her lover, she felt pain thinking of her husband, her nine-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son. Yet each time she decided to break it off, she found herself waiting for her lover’s calls instead and arrived early at their place of rendezvous.

"I confessed to my friend, but she said to keep meeting him until I grew sick of him. Don't break up your family, she said. She said there’s barely a married woman who doesn’t have a bit on the side these days."

In a poll of 1,000 married women conducted by the Chosun Ilbo, the Korea Institute of Sexology, Pfizer Korea and Research Plus, 63 percent of respondents said they could imagine having sex with a man other than their husband. Some 21 percent said they were sitting on the fence, and only 16 percent said they could never sleep with anyone other than their husband.

Park Mi-jin (not her real name) is 43 and seeing a younger man despite being married for 15 years. "In the past, when I told my friends I had a lover, they used to say I was crazy, but now they say I'm clever."

Chun Kyoung-hee of DeRyook International Law Firm says, "Fewer people now think of marriage as an eternal promise, so infidelity and divorce are rising rapidly." As women grow more active in society and their economic power increases, their thinking about marriage and affection has grown freer, she said.

For a thesis on extramarital relationships, Sungkyunkwan University student Yang Da-jin interviewed 196 women in the Seoul-Gyeonggi Province area. “Of the respondents, 26 percent said they had had an extramarital affair,” she says. “The women were frank and unconcerned writing down their experiences on the questionnaire."

Some attribute this atmosphere to TV dramas and movies that make infidelity look good. Since the 1996 drama "Aein" (Lover), women’s infidelity has ceased to be the stuff of controversy, with films such as "Happy End", "Ardor", and "Three Women" following the trend. The Internet, too, makes illicit relationships easier. Most of the respondents who confessed they had lovers said they met the men on school alumni sites or online chat. Psychologist Lee Eun-ha says, "The environment, like dramas and films, just helped break social taboos; infidelity on the part of women is rising as they grow confident that they can live on their own even after divorce thanks to their increased economic power."

Choe Yeong-lee (assumed name), 37, who is having an affair with a colleague, said, "My husband thinks of me as someone who's there to do housework, but my lover is always considerate of me." What makes her stay with her husband? "My husband has had many flings with bar girls. We just pretend not to know," she says.

Hi fellow hunters,

I've been viewing a few postings and I most say great job everybody. I'll be in Seoul around mid-september and I'm looking for a place where I can find a nice Korean that provide great service for a first-timer (Asian girl). There are so many options to choose from. I'm so confused. Help need here. Thanks ahead.

Received an email from former K-GF in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. Not totally former, but absent for awhile. Scared to death. She said she wished that I was with her and inside of her and I agreed that this sounded like a good and safe place to be from 12,000 miles away, but at least good.

More later,

Okay, I been living in Korea a short time and live in the city Daegu. Anyway, I was walking down a residential area near a main street by my house when I saw these little tiny bars (I think?). I was already a little drunk and they are close to my home. Anyway, they aren't 'bars' in the regular sense of the word because they had a counter, a few little seats inside and one or two women in their own little room. Again, they were LITTLE area's with a seating area. So, I thought I would give it a try and get a beer. Well, two of the 'bars' wouldn't let me in and since I don't know much Korean yet, I'm wasn't sure why? So, I figure 'third time's the charm' and tried another before heading home. Anyway, a woman greeted me and let me come in. I was relieved because I was ready to pound some more beers in me ASAP ;).

But, THIS is where it got REALLY suspious. It was two girls there, both a little older, but fine. I asked them how much the beer was and they said about 30,000 won (roughly $30!!!). Now, I was pretty confused to say the least and was respondent enough with my small amout of Korean to know that WAS the price. I kept repeating it in Korean and they looked at each other thinking, "How can we explain this?" . So, just because I didn't want to pay $30 for a couple of beers, I decided to leave. Thank them kindly, apologized that I just didn't have the money and left. But now I'm REALLY curious lol. It was obvious it was some kind of shop for 'men only', but I just couldn't figure it out? All the places were on the same street, had one or two women there, a few seats and a back room. I DON'T think that back room was for you-know-what as it looked like they were living there. Plus, there were TWO of them, so I can't imagine it would be used in that way.

Anyway, I'm curious as hell now and actually thinking about going back. Just suck it down, pay the $30 and just see what happens. If nothing, I can chalk it up to an experience and at least got some REALLY expensive beers out of it ;). If something, I'll write a report here for everyone :).

But, maybe people can shed some light on this? Are these little women bars in other area's and have people tried them? Does 30,000 won mean something else OTHER than just beer?? I GOT to learn more Korean lol.

Anyway, hoping someone can tell me because I would like to go again IF it's something worth doing at least once :).

Teahouse Girls

You will notice teahouse girls on just about every street in any Korean City from late morning until about midnight every night. They buzz around on little motor scooters by themselves or they are driven around by a male driver. On the surface, it appears they are delivering tea to customers who phone in their orders and sometimes this is the case. Many other times they are delivering some of the best pussy you'll ever have. The rate for buying a bargirl out of the bar was stated in Chapter one.

The ticket price to buy a teahouse or tearoom girl out any time of the day or night is considerably less. You can buy a little sweetheart out of the tearoom for 20,000 won an hour. This is much less than the $100.00 and hour you would pay in the bar. What are other factors to consider before you pursue this avenue? You must live offbase or be prepared to spring some bucks for the hotel. You should learn a little of the local language because these girls seldom speak any English. Those are really the only drawbacks to this kind of adventure. The girls are less inclined to rip you off than bar-girls are because they aren't used to dealing with many Americans and most seem to like the round-eye males when given half a chance. I highly recommend you find a few tearooms and learn to drink a cup of ginseng tea or coffee. You can have a lot more fun for a lot less money and the whole experience will go a lot easier on your nerves too.

It isn't terribly hard to find a tearoom. They are all over. The Korean word for teahouse or tearoom is Ta-bang. Ask any DF walking down the street where the nearest one is and he will probably be glad to oblige. This could turn out to be one of the smartest things you do on your tour here. The guys who have been here a while already know the benefits of this action. They guard their favorite tabangs like most men guard their favorite fishing hole. You will have to get out and beat the bushes on your own or with a friend to find a tabang where you can hit the ball deep. The effort expended will come back to you ten times over before it's all done. You will like spending 1000-2000 won for her drink in the tearoom as opposed to the ridiculous prices in the bars. Your wallet will love you and you will be happy with yourself for having a little initiative. Good luck and good hunting. You have a better than even chance of success.

Hmmm, yeah I heard about this (except I call them coffe girls) and always been curious, but I can't believe that you are only spending about 20,000 won plus hotel room. That seems awfully cheap considering the hags on the street go for at least double that and the coffee girls are HOT!!! I see them riding up and down their scooters all day and for a time, I THINK I was living next door to one. Always leaving all dressed up in the mid afternoons and wouldn't come home until late mornings. Yes, also had her little scooter. I can tell yo for a fact she wasn't a nurse lol. It must cost a little more money SOMEWHERE though. Maybe some kind of extra price is negotiated somewhere. Not trying to argue and would LOVE to be wrong on this lol, it just sounds a little too good to be true, that's all. It might be interesting checking it out though and at least get some tea out of it :).

With the prices going up and the risk increasing here in Korea, it's worth saving your dollars to take a trip to Angeles City Philippines. I just got back (see postings in Angeles City 2005 and Photo section of Philippines) and let me tell you....korea can't touch it. Even if all the girls in the A row of your local RLD suddenly spread their pretty little thighs for 70,000 won for 15 or 20 minutes to anyone who happened by, it would mean shit against the experience you will have in Angeles City.

RT ticket Inchon to Clark: $440

Hotel in Angeles City: $25 a dayx10 days=$250

Drinks and food x one day: about $20

Bar-Fine girl of your choice: $22

I spent roughly $85-$125 dollars a day during my stay there. I could have easily spent less if I was on a serious budget and still had shit loads of fun. But I wasn't on a serious budget so had more than shit loads of fun. Where else are you gonna get $9 blow jobs everyday? IMHO, save up and take a worth while trip to Angeles City, Philippines when your able to. As a matter of fact, I'm going back again in November.

Couldn't Thailand compete with those prices as well? Not to mention better food?

Either way, it's a big debate to say which destination is better but we can say Korea does pale in comparison.

I don't really want to revisit this topic since it has been beaten like a dead horse in many other threads throughout the forum, but let me add this. You get more bang for your buck in the Philippines, plus all the girls speak english. Yes, the cuisine is better in Thailand than it is in the Philippines, but lets face it....we don't fly there to eat do we? In the end when I compare the two side by side on overall cost from previous trips to both locations, I have to tell you, I always spend less in the Philippines (Angeles Area). And like Seeko who is turning around and going right back to the Land of Smiles (LOS), I'm doing the same....but to the Philippines again with friends in November. Just can't get enough of those LBFM's!

Yesterday I recieved a surprise call, from a old flame that I met in the States. She's been in Korea since 03'. She told me that the Korean men are chasing Phillapinas, Malays, and other SE asians not the K-girls as much :D whether thats bs or not who knows.

If so it's probably a combination of the male/female imbalance and modernization.

There are a couple cohorts of Koreans entering adulthood where males outnumber females by 15%. It became fashionable in Korea to abort female babies. The females that did survive have grown up in a liberated environment where they realize their life isn't about pushing out male babies and slaving for their husband's mother in law. I've known Korean women, 30somethings and unmarried, who avoid first born males like the plague because it implies she'll have to give up her career and become a slave to her mother in law.

Korean men are probably realizing finding a Korean woman, any Korean woman, is getting hard going. When they do, she's not so willing to quit her job and become a house slave while he spends his nights drinking in an an ma with prostitutes... They kinda want something better.

SE Asian women, however, view Korea as a modern nation and a chance to escape poverty. And ever since the Yonsama mania, Korean men are viewed by other Asian women as sweet and sincere. *chortle*

I am glad to see that there is some action still going on in Korea with the busts that have been going on. I am in Kunsan and I have been trying to find some action around here for reasonable prices. So far the only thing that I have been hearing about is massages here at one of the local hotels. If anyone is interested in a name let me know and I will send a pm, but only to veteran mongers. I have also hit up a couple of places in Jeonju. The prices there were fs for 80,000W.

Job brokers held for [CodeWord908] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908)

October 19, 2005

Police on Sunday arrested a job broker suspected of luring some 200 women into prostitution in the US and elsewhere.

Acting on a complaint from a 25-year-old woman identified as Lee, Seoul Metropolitan Police arrested five people including the 53-year-old broker identified as Hyun for involvement in the flesh trade.

Police say the gang forged employment certificates to obtain US and Japanese visas and smuggled women into the US through Canada. They charged the victims W8 million (US $8,000) each for the processing, earning some W600 million altogether.

Lee told police an acquaintance in March asked her if she was interested in working in the US and introduced her to Hyun, who explained that she would be working as a nail artist or waitress.

Lee paid the W8 million processing fee and in June arrived in the U.S, where she was joined by three other Korean women.

Lee said she was startled when the women asked her if she had experience in prostitution and assured her it was easy because "everyone takes drugs."

Lee claimed she was forced to have sex with customers on call, adding many of the women took ecstasy to make the experience bearable. She said she went on hunger strike when her employer ignored her pleas to send her back to Korea and took her passport off her, but had to stop when he threatened to burn all her belongings. However, after two months Lee said a Korean working in a coffee shop near her accommodation introduced her to a policeman, who helped her return to Korea.

I posted this on the Vietnam site but thought it would be appropriate here too:

A couple of years ago I was flying Korean Air into HCMC and asked for emergency exit seating for the sole purpose of sitting across from the stewardesses. (as I always do). The extremely petite, cute, nee hot, girl sitting across from me was Vietnamese. She was very forward, and before I got off the plane I had her number (without even asking for it) in HCMC and in Seoul where she lived in a hotel while working for KAL.

She was back in Seoul so fast we didn't have time to meet in HCMC but not long after I got back to Korea we had a date.

I fell in love right away and stupidly. Assuming she couldn't resist an American professor I gushed way too much about looking for a girlfriend and wondering if it could be her. I thought she felt the same way.

Then got her back to my extremely tiny apt. where I think she might have made her decision that I wasn't rich enough for her.

Here's where is gets weird and confusing. She hopped straight on the bed, we started making out and she asked me if I wanted her. I said yes, of course. But I stupidly said, but I can wait because I don't want to ruin my chances with you.

I tried to grope a little, testing her but kept stopping my hands. I had no idea what to do. Be forceful and scare off this little gal that I really wanted to keep seeing. Or go for it and probably be rewarded with no small amount of pleasure.

In the end I was too much the gentleman and she went home without any action. Looking back I reckon she wanted one of two things. First she was checking to see how well off I was. Failing that, I reckon she was looking for a good romp in the hay but she was playing the Miss Good Girl Game. I should have tried harder. Still regret that to this day. {Ripley's Believe it or Not: On the way back to Korea- same trip- on VIETNAM Air, same seating arrangement, I met a Korean stewardess - an 8 on my scale. The exact same thing happened. The girl asked for MY phone number. We met in Seoul a week or so later. Got her over to my apt. a couple of times but she was a little psycho and nothing panned out. I think we actually had a small tiff about something. But what are the odds? A Vietnamese on KAL and a Korean on VAL on the same trip. I wonder where the hell that mojo I was carrying then has gone}

Another tip for you hunters is this. Use immigration offices (perhaps not in Nam). In Korea it's like shooting lame ducks. Last year, I was getting my visa renewed in Korea and saw the cutest little girl. She looked rich too and well dressed. Very styling. I looked over her shoulder as we waited our turns and saw be her passport that she was Vietnamese. I finished right away and had to wait an hour for her to walk out. Yes, creepy, I know. Then I lost her. I spent 20 minutes looking for her around the building then gave up and walked the ten minutes back to the subway.

When I went onto the platform, strangly she was sitting on a bench. I know at least 1 train had left the station while she was sitting there. I asked her to join me for a coffee and she agreed. She said she worked in a factory here, made great money to send back home. She was very smart but her English was almost unintelligable because of her poor pronunciation. Said she had a Korean boyfriend. Months went by when she suddenly showed up on my yahoo msngr. We started video chatting quite often (her English typing and reading skills were fine) and she said she didn't have a boyfriend anymore. But she was scared to meet me because of her English. We chatted for a month or so then one day she calls me and wants to meet because her sister, a stewardess was visiting and she could speak English. This gave her the courage I guess, and a translator. Of all the nights, I had something going that couldn't be canceled so I didn't make it and her sister was gone the next day.

Not long after she moved back to HCMC. I still see her on yahoo occassionally but I'm looking forward to my next renewal. In fact I may just go hang out there. There are always at least a few hot Japanese, Russian, Thai, Filppina girls.

I found this story on USA today's site. This a follow up to Ashton's post in the Photo Gallery section about adult dating websites. The agency/site in this story even advertised themselves in the national media and was suppose to be one of the more respectable services so this is somewhat of a mild surprise.

Personally I would never encourage anyone to join nor would I join pay sites, like AFF or the Korean friend finder site but if you do just go with the basic service so you don't have to pay and check them out. These sites appear to be doing very well financially, even if their members are not. Look at the financial numbers (in millions) the industry made in 2004 and YAHOO is named as a party to this action.

Hey ya'll,

I'm new to Korea and I've never picked up a working girl before, however, I need to get laid at the moment.

As far as I know there are three types of places: red light districts (I've seen the one near my home in Suwon); barbershop massage places; and anma massage places. I've seen a place near my house that has like 4 double barber poles around it. Is this place gonna be a score? How would I go about it?

What about anal? Will the girls in Korea do it? My other question is when you finish off with the girl do you pull out and cum on her or do you cum in her?

Sorry I'm such a noob.

All companies that can afford to go to these type of establishments still go there for business meetings.

Nothing has changed.

I remember taking some of my clients or business partners to such places. They all said, "Where do I sign the papers?" :)

By Kim Cheong-won
Staff Reporter
For a 36-year-old manager at a local manufacturing company, who would like to be identified only by his family name Park, December is the busiest time of the year.

He has to meet his business partners, who are in charge of giving orders to Park’s company, for yearend parties. He has to have dinner with them, drinking together and often singing together at karaoke bars.

But, that’s not the end of the country’s unique ``choptae’’ culture which means providing a treat or entertainment to business partners or authorities to get favors.

Many times, they go to brothels, or massage parlors where they can ``buy’’ sex, according to Park.

``As a father of two daughters, I feel ashamed to go there. But, it is necessary to make business go smoothly,’’ he said.

According to a survey of managers at 302 local companies across the country, more than 53 percent of the respondents said they visit quasi-brothels when they have the choptae meetings with their business partners while over 28 percent of them do the same thing after a company dinner.

The survey was conducted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in cooperation with TNS Korea between Nov. 23 to 29 to investigate company dinners and the choptae culture.

Buying sex in Korea is banned since the government’s anti-prostitution law went into effect last September. Law enforcement authorities have cracked down on the sex trade, especially in red-light districts nationwide.

The measures were aimed at helping the sexually exploited victims of brothels and stamping out prostitution.

Those who violate the law will be subjected to a maximum three million won fine or a jail term of up to one year.

By industry sector, 60 percent of managers working at wholesale companies answered that the practice still remains while 37.9 percent of respondents at construction companies said that it still exists.

Almost one out of five companies has adopted the so-called ``clean card’’ system and over 65 percent of the respondents said that the system brought some positive changes when it comes to choptae and company dinner culture.

Under the system, corporate cardholders cannot pay for their purchases at entertainment spots such as karaokes, nightclubs, massage parlors and casinos. This is because card readers at those spots automatically refuse to approve their transactions.

The Korea Independent Commission Against Corruption (KICAC) proposed the concept last year and is now pushing it forward while trying to make it mandatory for public companies.

When it comes to the necessity of choptae, over 80 percent of the surveyed said it is necessary to maintain good relationships with business partners.

``The distorted culture of treatment in South Korea will ruin its national image in the long-run. The wrong kind of hospitality would end up not only wearing out companies’ competitiveness, but also increasing the nation’s decadent entertainment industries,’’ said an ministry official.

I've been searching for info about hyu geh tels because I found a nice looking one that has the double barber poles. Do these places offer service? What's the quality and going rate?

It depends on what type of girls they have.

Some places (mostly in the Gang Book Area; North of the Han River) charge between 50,000 to 100,000 for an hour or two. The girls are in their early 30s to late 30s or early 40s.

In the Gangnam Area (south of the Han River), most of the places have girls in their 20s. So the price is between 100,000 to 200,000 for an hour or two.

It all depends. There are a lot of such places in the Samsung-Dong area (near the COEX and the Renaissance Hotel) area. A lot of places in this area for fuckie-fuckie.

[QUOTE=Greenberet]Hey ya'll,

You need to first go inside. If you see young ladies, then it is a fuck place. If you see only guys cutting hair, then it is not.

What about anal? Will the girls in Korea do it?
9 out of 10 girls will prefer not to do anal.It is best to have anal with a regular girlfriend and not with a working girl.

My other question is when you finish off with the girl do you pull out and cum on her or do you cum in her?

Always where a condom when you have sex. Better safe than sorry.

Sorry I'm such a noob.

Thanks

I do not recommend internet dating sites.

I recommend all of you to just walk up to a girl, smile, and introduce yourself. You have nothing to lose. :)

Usually on a Friday or a Saturday night, go to a club or a bar and chat with the girls. Many Korean girls want to hook up with foreign men. Tell them that you will be more than happy to help them with their English. ;)

Itaewon, Hong-Dae, and Shin Chon are good areas to go to meet girls.

Wow, it looks like you the ladies like you a lot! :)

The KAL flight attendents usually stay at the Holiday Inn on 32nd street between 5th and 6th avenue in New York City.

In the end I was too much the gentleman and she went home without any action. Looking back I reckon she wanted one of two things. First she was checking to see how well off I was. Failing that, I reckon she was looking for a good romp in the hay but she was playing the Miss Good Girl Game. I should have tried harder. Still regret that to this day. {Ripley's Believe it or Not: On the way back to Korea- same trip- on VIETNAM Air, same seating arrangement, I met a Korean stewardess - an 8 on my scale. The exact same thing happened. The girl asked for MY phone number. We met in Seoul a week or so later. Got her over to my apt. a couple of times but she was a little psycho and nothing panned out. I think we actually had a small tiff about something. But what are the odds? A Vietnamese on KAL and a Korean on VAL on the same trip. I wonder where the hell that mojo I was carrying then has gone}

Well, it seems that the state of mongering in S. Korea has declined to such an extent that we go weeks in some of the threads before any new information is posted. Or maybe it's that the key forum posters from this area have already rotated out of Korea leaving us here to scratch our heads and wonder what the hell has happened. Whatever the case, IMHO, S. Korea sucks ass in the mongering department lately. The best thing about being in Korea now is that it's so close to Thailand and the Philippines. Long gone are the days where you could hit any of the clubs in Songtan, Anjungri or Itaiwon freely without looking over your shoulder and pulling some secret squirrel shit to get a girl out of the club. Yup! We're really suckin now! There are still some options out there, but the pickins' are slim indeed. I sure miss the old days! But what can a person do? Hi there,

You are correct. Korea is not like what it used to be.

Mongering in Korea is good for only Koreans (unfortunately).

But for foreigners, I strongly recommend to go to a bar or club in Itaewon or HongDae and hit on the girls. There are many girls out there who are opened minded and would love to hook up with a foreign guy.

Many of these girls are also looking for English teachers.

Most of the working girls will not provide good service to the foreigners. Besides, foreigners have to pay more which is so not fair.

Jsut my 2 cents.

I used to teach English at an English Language Institute in the Ilsan area.

I had the chance to meet with many students. I did not give a shit about the male students. lol

There were a few female students who were openminded and wanted to hook up with foreign guys. So I would help them with their English (tutoring) and the girls would provide me with cooking nice Korean dishes, fucking, and sucking.

This is why I recommend foreigners to make a Korean girlfriend. This applies to those who plan to stay in Korea for many months or longer.

For those who plan to stay in Korea for only a few days, then if you plan to go to a RLD, massage parlor or love hotel, then go with a Korean friend. If you go with a Korean friend, you will get the local discount and the girls will treat you well. :)

Good luck to everyone.

I have been to Beijing twice. There are many Korean adult clubs and bars. The prices are a little cheaper (but not a lot cheaper) than Korea.

Most of these women are Chosun Joks (Koreans who are living in China). These women tend to have thick bones and short so they are not my type.

Based on my experiences, it is not worth it.

I think it is better to take the 6-hour flight to Bangkok instead. ;)

I saw some Korean Porn on DVD in Video stores in Seoul. Also check the Yongsan Electronic Market, they have tons of boot-leg movies there. Most of those guy selling those movies could probably get porn movies or direct you to where to get them.

Do you want to make movies for your personal collection or is this a business venture?

It has been my experience that the quality of bottlegged DVDs and VCDs in Korea is very poor. All that stuff on Texas Street and the International Market leave a lot to be desired.... and, in terms of bootlegs, they are priced higher than on the streets of New York... at least the ones on Texas Street.

Run Mann

It depends on when you get them, if you purchase bootleg DVD a week after the movie has been release, the quality is poor, but after about three weeks after they get the master copies, the quality is excellent. Most of these guys at Yongsan Electronic Market will tell and even show you how good the quality is before you purchase. The movies sell for $5.00 or 5000W, if you haggle and buy a lot you can get a ka-ka (discount)

The Korean porn is original quality and not bootleg, but certainly not hardcore,at least the ones I have seen.

I'll probably shoot at a love motel for a business venture/hobby. I'd want a girl who is use to being on video as I'm sure most hookers would want an outrageous price or be too shy. I'll e-mail Jean-Marc and see how he did it and how much he payed the girls.

There's a finders fee, if anyone knows of a girl who is up for some video action.

I currently have three full time Filipina's who love to webcam...

I met this girl three months ago and although it took me two months to get her naked, it has been great every day since. Free shower and awesome masturbation webcam shows.

But, I also tutor Korean teachers (150 hours in six months) and that has led to great times.

It sounds like you have a nice and well-prepared long-term plan!!! :)

Tutoring is something that I HIGHLY AND STRONGLY recommend EVERYONE to do!!! Here is why.

Many Koreans are looking for English Tutors to help them improve their English. TOEFL, TOEIC, SAT, Composition, Comprehension, Conversation etc.

I usually look for women aged between 30 to 45. Since most of them are married/divorced and not happy (a little depressed either because of the divorce or a huge argument with her husband).

Just be a gentleman and a good listener. When you two get close, she will open up and ask you for advice. Be patient, listen to her complaint, and answer kindly with a smile.

So not only are you being paid for the English lessons, but this lady will be sucking your balls and treating you to lunch and dinner.

Just my 2 cents.

I understand the whole [CodeWord908] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908) issue and acknowledge that it is a horrible thing, but if these idiots think that by making it a crime if a GI solicts a prostitute they will solve this problem, well good luck. We are talking about young males in the prime of their testosterone enhanced life. What are they suppose to do for sexual relief?

They are millions of miles away from home and in need some form of comfort from some female companion. The hypocrisy of this policy is that the people passing and publicly supporting these laws can afford to have prostitutes send to their (Hyatt, Shilla, Walker Hill, etc) hotel rooms while the poor bastard on the front-line defending them can't relieve himself. Make prostitution legal and you will eliminate many of the problems you have now. Isn't it working in places like Nevada and Germany?

Very interesting to see how this plays out. ________________________________________________________________

Soliciting sex already a well-known violation for US soldiers in South Korea

January 13, 2006

Yongsan Garrison - US Forces Korea officials said Tuesday there has been no specific push to alert troops to an Oct. 14 presidential order that makes soliciting a prostitute a chargeable offense under Article 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

"Solicitation has been unlawful as a violation of USFK Regulation 27-5, and it was prosecuted under Article 92 - Failure to Obey a Lawful Order or Regulation," said USFK spokesman Dave Oten. "The new specifications of Article 134 have the advantage of providing consistency both across the military services as well as assignments overseas or in the continental United States."

The issue was raised, however, on Tuesday during an all-day, semi-annual training session in which 8th US Army soldiers are trained on personal conduct on and off duty.

During a briefing for 8th Army's Headquarters and Headquarters Company, hundreds of soldiers were reminded of the recent change. "That makes going to a house of ill repute illegal," the battalion commander, Lt. Col. David L. Ward, told the unit.

At a senior leadership briefing the same day, officers were reminded to make sure their soldiers know how much trouble they can get into just for standing inside a bar that supports prostitution. If there's a video camera in the front, bars on the windows and a pretty girl, "you're probably in the wrong place," the officers were told.

Sgt. 1st Class Thurman Hogen, who works in the engineer command on Yongsan, said he believed the change was good because it emphasized family values. He said Tuesday's forum was the main way that most soldiers would learn about the change.

"We also get blasted with e-mails," he said.

Still, Spc. Christian Borges and Pfc. Glen Perryman, both from the headquarters unit, said they knew little about the change other than talk among friends. But they too felt as if the change was more about clarification and less about a new policy.

Sgt. 1st Class Glen Harrison, one of 8th Army's equal opportunity advisers, agreed. "It cuts out any gray areas," he said, adding that soliciting a prostitute carried penalties before the military justice system change.

When Harrison addressed the soldiers in the afternoon, he asked how many had heard of the change. Only a few raised their hands. Then he asked how many had heard television spots denouncing prostitution and [CodeWord908] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908). More hands raised. Had anyone heard about the health, social and career dangers from solicitation? Even more hands went up.

"The awareness is out there," he said.

Run Man,

I agree with you. This whole prostitution thing America is fighting is a losing battle. The U.S. Government is telling their young soldiers that they can gladly die for their country, but they can't buy a piece of ass! I don't get it. Sex sells now, like it did when we were originally planted on this green earth, and no amount of policing by any government of the world is going change that. Push it under the carpet...yes....get rid of it for good? No! America would be best off trying to decriminalize prostitution. At least then you could get rid of the middle man (pimps) and allow the girls to fully capitalize on their sex work without being persecuted.

P.S. I still have some Viagra and Cialis. Hit me with a PM if interested.

Seoul's Red-Light District to Close

By Kim Tong-hyung

Staff Reporter

The largest red-light district in Seoul near the Chongnyangni train station is expected to be closed down next year following the city's urban redevelopment project.

Seoul City Monday announced a plan to expand a road in Chongnyangni, eastern Seoul, which passes through a concentration of brothels.

The city said it expects to spend about 13.2 billion won ($13.5 million) to purchase the land for the road expansion. The city has already spent 4.8 billion won to buy land owned by the state-run Korea Railroad, which is at the edge of the area slated for redevelopment.

The construction is scheduled to start late June and be completed by December next year.

``We plan to expand the width of the 226-meter road between the Tapsimni Road and the Lotte Department Store, right off the Chongnyangni train station, from the current eight meters to 32 meters to reduce traffic congestion,'' said Kim Hyo-sun, an official at the city's urban planning bureau.

``The redevelopment area overlaps with the central part of Chongnyangni's red-light district. With many of the brothels being pulled down and leaving a significantly smaller number of shops, we believe that the red-light district will fade out rapidly,'' he said.

The red-light district, commonly known as the ``Chongnyangni 588,'' after the number of the city bus that used to pass through the neighborhood, has long been the city's largest center for prostitution, with more than 400 women working in about 150 brothels when business was in full swing.

However, after the government launched a special crackdown on the sex trade with the enforcement of a law against prostitution in September 2004, Chongnyangni saw the number of brothels drop significantly, as in the case of the city's other red-light districts in Miari, Yongsan and Yongdungpo.

According to police figures, Chongnyangni's once busy red-light district now has about 60 brothels.

In recent years the government has been toughening its measures against sex-for-money trades, amid concerns that prostitution has been spreading rapidly during the economic downturn.

A government figure in 2002 showed that about one million women were engaged in the sex trade in red-light districts, bars and motels among others. Their income accounted for 4.4 percent of the nation's gross domestic product (GDP) at that time.

Under the anti-prostitution law, buyers or sellers of sex could face one year in jail or three million won in fines, while brothel operators could be sentenced to a maximum 10-year imprisonment or up to 100 million won in fines.

I just sent this to someone who's thinking about moving here. If anyone wants to elaborate feel free.

"The thing about Korea is that there is an endless supply of sex here but it's just way more costly than SE Asia (if you need to pay for it). In my ten years here Ive found that usually I had a girlfriend or a fuck buddy or enough one night stands to keep me satisfied MOST of the time. But then there were dry spells occasionally when I needed some relief.

Thats where the RLDs, massage parlors, hostess bars and barber shops come in.

They are everywhere so finding it is no problem. Prices vary from 40$ for a 20 minute shag in a filthy inn with an unattractive 30-45 year old hag.

You can get a nice looking and fit 25-35 yo girl at the massage places, some hotels, hostes bars and barber shops for 60-70 $ for 20-45 minutes roughly.

Then you can spend 300 to 500 for a girl to come home with you and spend the whole night, and more if it's at a really high end hot girl kind of place.

Thats roughly how it works. It's bullshit when you compare it to Thailand or PIs but then once you arrive here you'll be so addicted to Korean girls that you'll probably stay regardless. Finding a girlfriend isn't that hard. getting one night stands seems to be getting harder but could just be me getting older."

New to the girl scene in Korea. I'm in Seoul, and i've never tried anything here. Can anyone recommend in PM or on a post where I can meet or find escorts/girls? I don't mind payin for Class-A, just not sure where to go. I don't know my way around Seoul at all. Been to a few places, but usually because friends will get me to pass the cell phone to the cab driver. Are there any top level girls that do out-calls, and come to the Westin?

I got lost and walked miles before finally asking a taxi driver where it is. Here is my method now.

Take line 1 and get off at the Yongdengpo station. Get out on the main exit of Lotte dept store, which is right above the station. As you stand on the t-intersection with your back to Lotte, go straight. On the left sidewalk, by the shinsegae dept store and Starbucks - first alley, turn into that road. You are there.

Police to Crack Down on 24 Sex Trade Districsts

By Kim Rahn Staff Reporter The police have decided to strengthen crackdown on sex trades by designating 24 areas nationwide as intensive surveillance zones, where new-types of sex trades are made at bars and massage shops.

The National Police Agency (NPA) said Thursday that it held meetings of regional police agencies and decided to launch special crackdown. Each agency has designated one or two sex trade zones in their districts.

After the government enforced a special law to prevent prostitution in September 2004, many of red-light districts have been closed down.

Sex workers and brothel owners, however, have sought other ways to continue their business. They began to sell sex at massage shops, saunas and bars, and such business has created new areas of sex-for-money trades.

The 24 zones include the areas around Renaissance Seoul Hotel in Yoksam-dong, southern Seoul, Kyung Nam Hotel in Tongdaemun-gu, central Seoul, Suwon city hall, Kyonggi Province, and Yonsan intersection in Pusan.

The NPA will directly lead massive crackdowns on four sex-trade zones among them _ Yoksam-dong, Somyon of Pusan, Kuri market in Kyonggi Province, and Tujong-dong of Chonan, South Chungchong Province _ as the number of sex-selling shops and bars there is so many that regional police stations would not thoroughly crack down.

The police estimate there are 118 places providing sex trades in Yoksam-dong, 207 in Somyon, 446 in Kuri and 219 in Tujong-dong.

The police plan to organize special units at each police station, which will exclusively conduct crackdowns on sex trades, in order to prevent expansion of the illegal acts.

Between April 17 and 23, the NPA cracked down on sex trades at massage shops nationwide.

It detected 248 illegal sex business including 88 prostitution cases and eight cases involving minors, and arrested 16 people such as shop owners. Most of the detected cases were made in three areas which have been included in the 24 special zones.

According to the NPA, the number of brothels in red light districts across the nation has decreased by 38 percent from 1, 679, the number before the anti-prostitution law took effect, to 1, 043.

The number of women engaged in sex trades has also declined by 56 percent from 5, 567 to 2, 463.

I changed gears last weekend and spent most of it with a North American woman I met online. Although the sex was good, and she's not a bad looking women, my mind kept wandering to thoughts of all the cute Asian women I have been shaggin' lately. It was crazy! Here I am getting some good sex with Hoover type blowjobs, and spankin' pussy in any position I wanted to do it in, and yet all I could think of was, "Man, I wish this was a nice piece of Asian ass!" I think I'm going to have to let this one go. I guess I'm just not into North American women anymore. Does anyone else have this problem?

We must be having the same friggin' nightmares! I dred going back to the US and dealing with all those American drama queens who have no idea what it is to be a petite, feminine woman who looks after her man. They're too busy being concerned with what we can, or are supposed to do for them 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I can't stand the way American women think. I don't think any straight heterosexual male would go back to the states after seeing the quality of women and the lax liquor laws. More so, its the mannerisms that make the women so much more attractive, especially when comparing the rules of engagement to American women.

{For the background to my post, please read SukSam's rants in Pusan Thread. I think, the topic belongs here.}

After living in Busan for over a year, you would think that I can do conversational Korean or be semi-fluent in Hangul.
Hah, quite the opposite. I've stopped learning to speak or understand more Korean. I know enough to order food/drink, take the taxi, and buy stuff, and even made an effort to read the Hangul characters. But, that's as far as I'd go.
It's my way of protesting the Korean way of them being "number one." Those of you who drives regularly will know what this expression means.

Basically, I expect the people who deal with me on professional basis to speak English or understand English well enough to carry out my instructions or my intentions. If written material crosses my desk, I expect them to be in English or be bi-lingual. If someone calls me up, he/she'd better talk to me in English.

Yeah, I know, I'm being snobbish/egotistical, but I've to draw the line some where. Not sure if my stance is taken seriously or not, since here I am, an Asian, telling everyone to speak English. Oh well...

The United States government will begin issuing passports with RFID (radio-frequency identification). If you don't have a passport and you anticipate traveling internationally in the next 10 years, get one NOW.
If you have a passport and you anticipate traveling internationally in the next 10 years, get yours renewed NOW (whether there is time left on it or not).

The RFID passport stores an electronic copy of the passport holder's information, and it may store fingerprints and digital visas in the future. By itself, this is no problem. However, according to Bruce Schneier security expert) in an article through the Washington Post Service, "the RFID chips don't have to be plugged in to a [reading device] to operate. Like chips used for automatic toll collection on roads, these chips operate via proximity."

"This means that an RFID passport could be read without your knowledge or consent by a government trying to track your movements or, worse, by a criminal trying to steal your identity." Some safety precautions are being adjusted by the U.S. government stemming from complaints by experts. Such adjustments include shielded covers and access-control and encryption mechanisms. (quoted and paraphrased from Schneier's Washington Post article of September 21, 2006)

But experts say these changes don't go far enough to secure a passport holder's privacy. The RFID is in its infancy, and radio frequency technology is sure to out-pace the now feeble chip which will be placed in America passports starting at the end of this year. (ibid)

Security risks have already been demonstrated. One researcher found he "could identify individual chips via unique characteristics of the radio transmissions. Another researcher successfully cloned a chip."
Dismissed by the U.S. government as a "meaningless stunt," pointing out the researchers couldn't read or change the data. These security breaches were demonstrated after only two weeks of trying. (ibid)

The greatest risk to you is this: the RFID chip must last the lifetime of the passport (or 10 years of validity which ever comes first).
"Improvements in antenna technology will certainly increase the distance at which they can be read and might even allow unauthorized readers to penetrate the shielding." (ibid)

If you already have the RFID style passport, you can disable it by "popping [it] into a microwave...." Schneier reported that "the United States has said that a nonworking chip will not invalidate a passport." (ibid)

"The Colorado passport office is already issuing RFID passports, and the State Department expects all U.S. passport offices to be doing so by the end of the year." If you get a new passport now (from another passport office other than the Colorado office), 10 years can lapse and the technology can mature to better understand security risks. "You don't want to be a guinea pig on this one." (ibid)

Please pass this on to others whom you believe can benefit from the information.

Korea: Police bust website for illegal nude posts

August 31, 2006

On Sunday police arrested two operators of a website on charges of posting nude photos provided by members and earning hundreds of millions won from the business.

Also, 41 members of the website and a man who tried to hack it were booked but not detained.

Police said they took away 20,000 photos that were posted on the website and requested the Korea Internet Safety Commission officially close the website.

According to the police, the website was able to raise about 620 million won by allowing its 300,000 members, mostly men, to post sexually explicit and nude photos of their wives and girlfriends. The website opened in 2001.

Its members include university professors, the president of a trading company, a screenwriter and a governor's son. Three females also participated in the group.

Police said the members may have begun participating simply for fun, but say the situation quickly grew out control.

In a bizarre twist, some members even posted family snapshots along with the sexually explicit photos to prove that the women in the shots were really their wives.

A man could be bankrupted if he had a healthy sexual appetite in Korea.

Someone has told me that a lot of Korean people don't go out and get their freak on. Or, more properly, that there are very few women that are willing to go out and get their freak on and a lot of men who are having sex with each other or prostitutes as a result.

What do you guys know about this?

Go to a Korean nightclub and then question whether the locals get their freak on.

Its human nature to get your freak on. Whether its paid or free (never technically free in this country) Koreans will go out on a limb to get their freak on. Given the confucist based society that Korea was built on, recent adaptations due to westernization have caused Korea to change.

Most importantly, we can thank Lee Hyo-Ri for some structural reform when mentioning aesthetics to the Korean dress code as well.

People are people everywhere with the same needs and wants.

Am I going on some stupid tangent? Hope not...

Here is a quote from a paper in San Francisco this week.

Re:South Korea

"But the selling of Korean women goes back to the 15th century, when wealthy men bought educated Kisaeng girls to live in their homes and entertain them with song, dance, cooking and sometimes sex.

Today, sex work accounts for 4 percent of the country's gross domestic product, according to government reports. Prostitution brings $21 billion a year -- more than electricity and gas combined. There are an estimated 330,000 sex workers, 80,000 brothels and 69 red-light districts in a country the size of Indiana."

80,000 brothels? After reading this I was blown away. South Korea makes Cambodia look like it is run by nuns. Imagine what goes on in the North. Westerners need not apply of course.

I'm an old asian hand but will only be setting foot for the 2nd time ever in Korea next month. I'll be working on Yongsan and staying on base all but the last 2 night where I will stay at the Hilton Millinium.

Work will be long, so I need some good intel for places close to both. I guess I'm looking for advice on:

Are there some good barbershops/coffee shops in the vicinity that are recommended?

When I go into BS/CS, do they pretty much know what I'm there for or do I ask?

Lastly, when I'm staying at the Hilton, is it feasible to get an overnighter? Not looking to spend $1000.00 USD, so can this be had for say 300-400 USD overnight? Would a coffeeshop girl do this?

I know a lot of questions, but appreciate any help. If you ever come to Washington DC, let me know. I'll reciprocate.

When was the last time you were in Korea?

Things have changed alot.

Korea is just as expensive as US especially Seoul.

Seoul is within the top 10 most expensive cities in the world.

I doubt that you will find anything under $200.00 for an all nighter.

Just flew in to Korea. Don't speak the language so I'm wondering: Do pharmacies here sell Viagra OTC or do you need a prescription? Also, just curious if they sell Astroglide, since I forgot to bring mine from back home.

You definately need a prescription for V and the like or it's no game at the Pharmacy's. As far as Bundang goes, just look for the double, triple, or more rotating barbar poles. After that it's a matter of mustering up the courage to actually walk into one of those establishments. Being rejected a few times is normal for us round-eyes here in Korea, so don't let that discourage you from trying. Eventually you'll find a shop that will take you. Good luck!

I have seen some girls with kinda long labia (nambi for the koreans), and others with normal sized labia. What's the deal with the different sizes. Amyone seen any labias that hang down to the girls knees?

Is it knoledge that girls would rather keep to themselves.

Got a feeling the barber pole places have old adjumahs with long labias. Little bit gross looking too. Maybe that's why they dim the lights.

Hi,

First time poster. I'm visiting Korea now. Don't speak the language, but can read and say a few conversational phrases. I don't know anyone here, so I have to ask this newbie question. I intend to check out Seoul, especially "oh pal pal" so I'll let you know how that goes.

In the Bundang area I noticed a place called "Myong Poom An Ma" near Samsung plaza. Now I've heard all about Korean massage parlors. But does that mean everytime I see an "An Ma" I'm going to pay for sex? I just don't want to walk into this establishment and find out later that I'm not going to get any.

I prefer both of us showering together just out of courtesy for one another, and also for health reasons. Yeah I guess I sound uptight about this, but at least it's for a good reason. Thanks.

I was stationed at Camp Humphreys from August 1977 until February 1979. I returned in 1986, 1987, 1989 and 1995 for about a month each time. In the late 70’s we considered Korea to be “the best kept secret” in the Army, at least for the single guys. I was a first class monger then and I can’t believe how things there have deteriorated.

If Korea was the best kept secret, Anjung-ni the “vill” outside Camp Humphreys was at its epicenter. We had the youngest, best-looking and most plentiful group of “business” women in the country. Camp Humphreys was the weekend destination for many GI’s from around the country. At that time we had about 900 registered girls working the 10 clubs and about 600 more that weren’t registered. Most of the unregistered either had “yobo’s”, boyfriends, or were too young to get a VD card, 21YO. At that time there was about 4,000 permanent-party at Humphreys, 99% male. Do the math there was a gal for every 3 guys. I would say the vast majority of the gals were between 20 and 23 years old. There were very few gals working over the age of about 25, they just couldn’t compete.

Almost everyone at Humphreys, officer, NCO, EM and civilian, married or single went whoring on a regular basis. There was no bar fine system and the term juicy girl was not in the vocabulary. The girls referred to themselves as “business women” and were independent contractors although they had to associate themselves with one of the ten clubs to get a VD card. In August 1977 the standard “long time” rate was $10 per night. During this time there was a big push by the girls to get the fee up to $15 per night and by about x-mas 1977 this was the going rate if you wanted good service. “Short time” was actually a bad word. If you wanted one, short time, you actually had to work a little to get it because the girls really wanted to “catch” a guy for the whole night. All the girls had their own places so you didn’t have to shell out for a room.

When I returned in ‘86, ‘87 and ‘89 I only stayed in Seoul and went to Itaewan. Circumstances only permitted short times, which I think were going for $20 a pop. I asked one gal how much long time was and she said $100, but I don’t know if this was the asking or taking price. I didn’t spend much time in the clubs there although the few times that I did they seemed to be rather dead. It looked liked the girls were taking there business to the streets and concentrating on quickies. Most of the girls that I went with were in their early 20’s, none over 30.

I could tell things were really starting to suck when I went back for a month in 1995 on what I thought was going to be an R&R. The short times in Itaewan were $60 and I decided to try my luck at Camp Humphrys. My favorite club there in the 70’s was the Seven Club where you would expect to find about 50 girls looking for a customer, in ‘95 there was none. The Top Hat Club was the largest and usually there were about 100 girls available and the “T” Club about 50. In ‘95 the Top Hat had about 2 go-go dancers and the “T” about 8 dancers that were available for $100 per night after work.

Reading the blogs it seems like things, the mongering, went from Korean to old Korean to Pilipino to Russian/Pilipino back to Pilipino to extreme slim pickings. My questions to anyone who wants to answer are:
When did the mongering go from predominately “long time” to “short time”?
When did it become a sellers market, i.e. the older Koreans could get play?
When did the Pilipino arrive?
When did the Russians arrive?
When did the Russians go?
What’s going on at Camp Humphreys now?

I didn’t believe it when from ‘79 to ‘95 Anjung-ri went from 1,500 hookers down to 10. I can’t imagine being stationed there now. I have mixed emotions. On one hand I feel blessed that I was able to experience $10 all nighters when I was there, and depressed because the good deal is gone and our new warriors will not have the same experience that I had.

I do plan a trip there in 2008. I hope things improve by then.

Perhaps you should try mongering in Pongyang. You could probably get LT for just a bowl of rice.

Pasante Unique

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got my Pasante Unique's in the mail a few days ago and decided to try them on this 20yr old Filipina I've have been doing for a while now. My first dislike was the packaging. Although nice enough to fit securely into your wallet without worrying about rupturing the condoms, the packaging caused problems when I reached for it and tried to get a condom out for use. I got so frustrated I had to turn on the lights just to open the damn pack.

The second problem with the packaging is that they package three condoms in one credit card sized container. They can't be separated into individual condoms. This is ok if your fucking the same girl over and over again. Not too cool though if your fucking more than one girl, because one of them will ultimately ask, "What happened to the other two condoms?"

The feel of the condom in your hand is exactly like that of plastic wrap you would place over food. Putting the first one on was a slight challenge specifically because of that feeling. However, there is a green label on the condom itself directing you on how to put it on. When you finally do have it on, your dick looks like it has a price tag on it because of the label.

I slapped some Liquid KY (it's already lubricated with a petrolatum USP which is oderless and tasteless) on the outside of this contraption and started to fuck away. I didn't notice this "Real feeling" the company Pasante was talking about. It felt like I had wrapped my dick in plastic wrap and was attempting to fuck my hott 20yr old. I didn't like the feeling much. My Ultra Thin Lifestyles with the pleasure tip, and a little liquid KY squirted inside before putting it on felt much more natural then this contraption.

I pulled the condom off and finished bareback. Later, when I was ready to go again, I put another Unique on and asked my 20yr old to give me a BJ...all for the sake of the experiment. I have to say, it felt pretty real. She liked it because it had no smell or taste like regular condoms. So I guess I'll be using them for CBJ during my next trip to the Philippines, while I'll still use the LifeStyles for actual penetration. Just my two cents. I'm interested to know if there are other super thin condoms that may be good to try.

Always on the Quest

After reading your post. I went to the Pasante website, www.pasante.com. It appears that they can be ordered from the UK. I went to Undercover Condoms, my usual source, but they don't carry them.

It would be great to have a list of basic phrases to help us infrequent visitors get through the door.

I myself have managed OK with basic phrases from Korean travel books, but in Korea I am always at a loss for words in a mongering situation if they don't speak English.

Any of you fluent types willing to type up something for us non-speakers? Thanks in advance.

Some ideas on what would be useful...

Do you provide full service?
How much is full service?
Where are you from?
What is your name?
Can you provide BBBJ?
Can you come to my hotel?
How many shots can I have?
Can I have 2-3 shots?
How long is the session?
You are beautiful.
You have nice tits.
You have a tight P'ssy
You feel so good.

The problem with this is that even if someone posted it, members would not read it. Most people rarely read this board beyond the first page or two, which is why you have the litany of questions about the same issue repeatedly, just look at the Seoul thread.

Speaking Korean as with many other languages is more than reading it; you have to pronounce it properly so that the listener can understand. Here are a couple of sites that are free and can help anyone trying to learn basic Korean pronunciation and comprehension.

As a speaker of 5 languages I appreciate the fact that pronunciation is very important. That said, it is the mongering vocab that gives me the trouble, as it is street language which one needs to learn in country usually.

I disagree that no one would apreciate it-and posting it in the General Info section would allow others to find or point to it in the future. The Japan Forum has it's own language section which is a great resource for new and old members.

i don't know if this is really the place for this question, i did not find a better one.

something weird happened today, after a business meeting i was approached by one of the participants, an obviously well connected korean who later showed me the business card of the mayor of seoul, some local officials', knew the director of my hotel (lotte) etc. this guy, who does not speak english (and i do not speak korean), invited me for a drink. he did so publicly in front of my translator and group of peers. one of the koreans present, said it is ok to go, i did not have other plans so i went, just for the heck of it and mostly to be polite. i don't know this guy.

we had a total of 8 or 9 beers, communicated amicably by gesture and scribbling on pieces of paper. he made me understand that he is 52, is married and has a 27 year old daughter and is a journalist working for the local paper. after a few hours of drinking we went back to the hotel and he grabbed my arm as we walked. that surprised me but i did not want to offend him so i just ignored that fact, then as we crossed the street he was gesturing and brushed the front of my pants with his hand. i was not looking when he did it, it bothered me but i assumed this had happened by accident, it was like a half second contact.

back at the hotel he introduced me to someone else, a university professor, an old guy that looked perfectly respectable and was the speaker at a conference in my hotel. then while talking to this guy and practically in front of him, he did it again while talking about me in korean and telling the old guy how handsome i looked.

i am not particularly prude but i am not particularly comfortable with men touching my privates either. is this a custom in korea or did i just come across some pervert looking for a thrill? maybe a stupid question, i don't know the culture here, i don't know of any other culture where that is done either. i'll likely never see this uy again but i am curious...

Did he stop there? Tell us the rest of the story, you can't be serious asking this question and if it was Korean culture or custom would it be acceptable to you for a man to touch your private area? If you are smart enough to attend a business meeting I know you can answer your own question.

since the passing of a strengthened anti-prostitution law in 2004 - which officially ended the country's traditional tolerance of sex buyers - the number of red light districts has gone south.

however, it is becoming apparent that shutting down brothels isn't enough, with the still-strong demand for commercial sex spawning a massive underground industry of massage parlors, girlie bars, hotels and internet sites that provide easier access to sex for sale.

last week, police in southern seoul arrested the two owners of three massage parlors in nonhyun-dong and yoksam-dong for hiring prostitutes. they booked another 170 people, including 120 people who bought sex from the shops more than 10 times.

the customer list of the three massage parlors extends to over 200,000 people, police said, with each shop roughly averaging 2,000 to 5,000 customers per month. "the customer list included lawyers, doctors, university professors, journalists, civil servants, soldiers, office workers and a former lawmaker. we can find virtually every profession aside from pastors, priests and monks," said an official from the seoul metropolitan police agency.

"the shops were sophisticated in their marketing, and they provided discounts for people paying in cash. the real number of customers could actually be double of the number of names on the list," he said. one of the arrested massage parlor owners, a 52-year-old whose last name is park, earned more than 9.7 billion won ($10.2 million) in credit card revenue between november 2005 and october last year through his nonhyun-dong shop. park's yoksam-dong shop raked in 5.8 billion won in credit card revenue since opening in december 2005, police said.

considering that sex buyers usually prefer to pay in cash, police believe the total revenue for park's shops to be significantly higher. the other suspect, a 57-year-old identified only as choi, earned 19.8 billion won in cash and credit card revenue through his massage parlor in yoksam-dong since september 2004. yoksam-dong, including the streets surrounding the renaissance seoul hotel, was one of the 24 areas in the country that police selected as intensive surveillance zones last year and that were monitored for underground sex trade. law enforcement officials investigated the three shops and ordered them to close their business last year but the owners refused, police said.

the owners of the massage parlors competed for customers, police said, leading to unusual marketing programs and services. the rooms at the massage parlors were differentiated by theme. there are "classrooms" with sex workers wearing girl school uniforms and "vietnam rooms" in which the women wear the southeast asian country's traditional attire. the massage parlors promoted their services on internet sites.

adopting a "zero-tolerance" approach to the sex trade and the trafficking of women, the anti-prostitution law stipulates that brothel owners can be put in prison for up to 10 years with a maximum fine of 100 million won. the state can confirep001e any financial gains acquired by selling sex.

buying sex was also made a criminal offense punishable by up to one year in jail and 3 million won in fines. in seoul, the red-light districts in yongsan, chongnyangni, chongam-dong and other areas are expected to be cleared up within the year through new urban development plans. since the anti-prostitution law was passed, police have charged more than 40,000 brothel owners, pimps, prostitutes and customers. however, sex transactions at massage parlors, bars, saunas, hotels and other businesses are growing, despite the government's warning.

according to a survey conducted last year by the korean institute for criminology, more than 60 percent of the 450 adult males who said they bought sex in 2005 said they used massage parlors, which are quickly becoming the center of the underground sex trade. numbers released by the financial supervisory service show that credit card spending at massage parlors rose 23 percent year-on-year in 2005.

What I'm about to say won't be popular, but my own personal opinion (based on experience) is that Korea just isn't much of a mongering spot. Sure, you'll find lots of different red light districts, and "anmas," and the prices will generally be cheaper than in the US (and maybe Europe - don't know, haven't tried mongering there yet).

But the experience still leaves a lot to be desired - at least compared to countries like Thailand, PI, Brazil, etc. For one thing, you're still paying a lot - the anmas in particular. And you don't have a choice with the girl you end up with, which means there's more than a good chance you will pay 200,000 won for a girl with a flat ass and small tits. Plus, sometimes these pros have attitude problems.

Unless your Korean is good (as well as your game), the best looking girls are to be found in the bars where you can't really pick them up, like JJs. And then there are the room salons, which I'm not really into, where expensive girls come in and blow you in front of your business colleagues, but that seems to be the norm here. And anyway, I don't have that kind of money to spend, or the connections in business to go to these places often. Red light districts aren't my scene, but to each his own.

There are many other reasons I haven't even touched on that makes Korea a less than ideal spot for mongering. All in all, if you're looking for a satisfying mongering experience in Asia, I would save your money and skip Korea - head over to Thailand or the PI instead, maybe even China. Not only will you save a lot more, the quality of your expereince will likely be a lot better too.

I've been to korea numerous times and it seems if another guy (especially older) likes you or thinks you're cute (as in adorable or good looking but not attracted to you) they will express this with touching you (trying to hold your hand, putting their arm around you, or even LTT). The LTT or grabing of your unit is a way they check to see how well endowed you are (sizing up the competition if you will). Korean custom dictates that if someone is older, elder respect is expected meaning you become docile/submissive (heiarchy) even in this shocking manner.

Korean males have an alpha male complex and I've seen them become very touchy when drunk. There have been times when I'm at a business dinner with a lot of important people and after dinner one of the other businessmen will reach over and grab your nuts or LLT. Sounds sick but he's probably checking to see if your ready for some action and take you to a room salon or massage palour. However if anyone tries LLT I'd still push or hit the hand away and ask them repeatedly where are the women?

It's important from a business standpoint to understand that gift giving is standard especially to a spouse and even expected.

Many urban office workers use studio apartments as their residences. This type of apartment is called an “officetel” in Korea, and is also used as office space. Recently, “officetels” are now being used by pimps who want to get around the anti-prostitution law as well.

S “officetel” near Seolleung subway station-

On fourth floors of the 15-story building, until recently, there were six rooms which were used for different purposes than other rooms in the same building. These rooms, which were made to look like ordinary homes, were used for prostitution. They are called “office brothels.”

Their interior decorations are exactly same as those of normal studio apartments. Because they look the same, people did not know sex was sold in them, and the customers do not worry about suspicious stares.

The rooms were equipped with everything from beds to computers to TVs to audios to gas ranges. There were confectionary and instant noodle bags to give them the look of ordinary households where young tenants live.

On July 4, the Suseo Police requested an arrest warrant for a Mr. Hwang (27) suspected of running a prostitution ring since this past January on more than 1,900 occasions, raking in 250 million won. His accomplice, a Mr. Park (32), prostitute Miss Oh (22), and customer Mr. Jung (26) were booked without physical detention as well.

According to the police, for the sake of maximum security, Hwang ran his business on a 100 percent reservation-basis. And customers, who came to the brothel via internet ads he posted, were told to come to his office, which was made to look like a high-end optician’s. Only when they were identified as paying customers was the green light to the rooms given.

Police said that Hwang prepared uniforms for students, sailors, nurses, and flight attendants plus racing girl outfits. He ordered his prostitutes to wear them if customers wanted.

A police officer said, “When I first came there for the investigation, I did not think the sex trade was happening there because it looked exactly like an ordinary apartment. The only thing that caught my eye was a bunch of toothbrushes and towels, which later prompted me to suspect the place was an “office brothel.”

Police thinks there are some 10 “office brothels” in business in the Gangnam area and have decided to crack down.

This is bad news because I wanted to do something not too dissimilar from what this Hwang guy was doing -- but if he can get caught, I probably definitely will, especially since I'd be helping non-Koreans have fun -- which is probably a bigger target.

Darn, it's tough. Gotta figure a way around this crap.

i don't know if this is really the place for this question, i did not find a better one.

something weird happened today, after a business meeting i was approached by one of the participants, an obviously well connected korean who later showed me the business card of the mayor of seoul, some local officials', knew the director of my hotel (lotte) etc. this guy, who does not speak english (and i do not speak korean), invited me for a drink. he did so publicly in front of my translator and group of peers. one of the koreans present, said it is ok to go, i did not have other plans so i went, just for the heck of it and mostly to be polite. i don't know this guy.

we had a total of 8 or 9 beers, communicated amicably by gesture and scribbling on pieces of paper. he made me understand that he is 52, is married and has a 27 year old daughter and is a journalist working for the local paper. after a few hours of drinking we went back to the hotel and he grabbed my arm as we walked. that surprised me but i did not want to offend him so i just ignored that fact, then as we crossed the street he was gesturing and brushed the front of my pants with his hand. i was not looking when he did it, it bothered me but i assumed this had happened by accident, it was like a half second contact.

back at the hotel he introduced me to someone else, a university professor, an old guy that looked perfectly respectable and was the speaker at a conference in my hotel. then while talking to this guy and practically in front of him, he did it again while talking about me in korean and telling the old guy how handsome i looked.

i am not particularly prude but i am not particularly comfortable with men touching my privates either. is this a custom in korea or did i just come across some pervert looking for a thrill? maybe a stupid question, i don't know the culture here, i don't know of any other culture where that is done either. i'll likely never see this uy again but i am curious...you are lucky he did not "dong chim" you. dong chim (excuse the spelling if wrong) is when you are bent over and they put their hands together and make like it is a gun and pop you in your pooper. i had it done to me, when i had my back turned, by a korean guy i worked with. i told him to never do that again as he would have his ass kicked. i said it in a nice way but he understood. you would never have that happen to you in the pi huh?

I've found it to be exactly as you describe.I have been living in Korea off and on since 1993. What you describe certainly happens here, but I can assure you that there are Korean women who you can meet and have relationships with. I can not provide a formula for meeting Korean women since it just happens like elsewhere.

I have had relationships with 5 Korean women in the last dozen years. They included a 30 something divorcee, a 23 year old stunningly beautiful upper middle class graduate of a very good university, a 20 something room salon girl, a 24 year old co-worker, 30 something married woman. I speak some Korean, but I am not fluent. Two of the people in the above list spoke almost nothing except Korean. (This is a great way to learn the language. It is also one huge incentive to study.) Except for the room saloon girl, each of my other lovers was university educated.

The least complicated relationship was with my room salon girl who spoke only Korean. I met her at a room salon and we exchanged phone numbers in my hotel room. I took her out two nights later for dinner. She choose the restaurant which was Western style (not my choice). I treated her like a GF and she repaid me 10,000%. I dated her for 3 years off and on, whenever I was in Korea. I always treated her like my GF and we always spent the night in my hotel room or her apartment. I brought her presents, sent her postcards when I was away, and took her to my choice of restaurants.

I never paid her for sex. She was good in bed - very good. She loved 69 which was always BBBJ. When she was having her period, she would not make love. I find that this is typical of Korean women. She did not even want me to turn her on at these times. However, she would give me a BBBJTC. She was fantastic.

I lost track of her in the last few years. She would change her cell phone every year or so, and she would text me the new one. My SKT cell phone contract was terminated in 2002 because of a screwup by one of my other women, consequently, she could not give me her new phone number.

I wish that I could find her again for two reasons. One is obvious. The other reason is that she will do wonders for my Korean language skills.

Perhaps you can try looking on cyworld or other Korean internet portals and type her full Korean name and birth year.

That would be your best bet or start all over with the wining and dining of the thousands of room salon girls here in Korea.

If you are an American, then the mostly widely recognized (non-insulting) signs that you are familiar with would be the "Thumbs-Up" and the "OK" sign.

The American "Thumbs-Up" signs seem to universally mean "good" or "great job", even here in Korea. (Although in some countries it is an insult) The American "OK" sign is worth reviewing, though. There seem to be several variations of the sign in Korea. (Making a circle with the index finger and thumb creates the so-called circle sign.) The variations seem to be almost endless for what Koreans use this sign to mean. (In Germany, it means "Asshole", but this ain’t Germany)

I have had Korean ladies use the index finger and thumb circle sign to mean:

(a.)Money.. The circle is a symbol for a coin. Usually, they hold their hand motionless, and the plane of the circle is horizontal;

(b.)Hand Job.. To indicate the dreaded sign for "sorry, you are foreigner, hand job, only", in which case their hand will be in motion, and a little imagination goes a long way;

(c.)Condom.. Indicating the circular shape of a condom. The lady may have a questioning look on her face, she will probably hold her hand motionless, with the plane of the circle vertical, and she may even say ‘condom’ and the question that she is posing can really mean anything from: (1.)Do you want real sex? Or, (2.)Do you want to use a condom? Or, (3.)It may be a clever way for the lady to introduce a little additional negotiation regarding if you will ‘tip’ extra for BBFS.

There are a myriad of other gestures that you will figure out after a while. A mock scrubbing motion means, "please take a shower, you smell like a foreigner". If the lady points to the floor, she may mean, "take your shoes off, here. "

If you are trying to broach the taboo subject of anal sex, be sure you point to her ass, and not to your own, or you may receive an unexpected prostate massage during the motivational BJ.

I have many flash cards that I use here in Korea, including these "Anal Sex Flash Cards" that I am posting here, literal translations as shown.

Good luck.

I am posting more Korean translation flash cards here, in an MS-Word "doc" file.

This file can be printed out from either the HWP ("Hangul Word Processor") program, or from MicroSoft "Word for Windows".

If you try printing the document from MS-Word, and if you try to change any of the font size or style, you may find the Hangul characters turn into squiggles and squares. If that happens, reload the original file, and try a few oddball MS-Word fonts that seem to be better suited for Hangul Characters, such as "Comic Sans", and "Sans Serif", and "Batang".

Good Luck.

Go to Itaewon and walk out of the station towards the fire station. Keep following the main road past the Rocky Mountain Tavern and the Itaewon Hotel (which should be on the opposite side of the road to you). Just a bit further you'll find a sex shop on the second floor and the proprietor, a rather fruity Korean gent, should offer it to you. Hope this helps.

Usually to see any porn in Korea you need a Korean id number. So, those of you who aren't Korean usually don't get the opportunity. My buddy sent me a site of short clips that most Korean's get to see on a regular basis. Kind of fun for me as this was the first time I had exposure to see how these videos look like and since I can understand Korean made it more fun. Does anyone know of any other sites like this without having to fill in a password?

Today, I had some time to kill before getting back to work, so I wanted to go to a PC Bang and spend an hour or so surfing the web. I was in a part of town I was unfamiliar with, so I just entered the first place that had "PC" and "24" on the sign, since I don't understand hangul. Anyways, I enter the establishment and ask to use a computer. The guy at the front desk said something to me in Korean, but I didn't understand him, so he wrote down the word "adult" on a piece of paper. I then looked around and noticed that there were separate rooms, with one computer in each, that seemed to have locking doors, I guess to ensure complete privacy. Funny thing is, I think I saw a box of tissue in the room as well. I had read about Adult PC Bangs on the internet, but I never fully understood what they were. I thought it was a place where you can look at porn on the web and maybe jerk off, but that doesn't really make any sense to me, because can't you just do that at home? I mean, why do you need to go to a PC Bang to watch porn and jerk off. It makes absolutlely no sense at all!

So, what's the point of an Adult PC Bang? Can you take a woman in there with you or something like that? I don't get it.

I'm presuming since most kids and young adults live with the immediate families until marriage, the advantage of having a private room to jerk off in and having to avoid embarassing situations might be beneficial for some, not to mention free downloaded porns available at these establishments.

Still, it doesn't make too much sense for me either.

Was well worth it. Only difference is they don't do re fills. Koreans will want to fill whole presctiprion and once (In my case 144 pills). Ended up getting 12 a month and they mark on your sheet how many you purchased. Found that going legit was much easier than convincing a pharmacy to sell without prescription or using mail order. There is a seperate Viagra discussion board on this site that has some more informatiojn on mail order.

There's lots of opinions and lots of goings on with the crackdown and everything, but, bottom line: For an Anglo-American with no Korean skills, by himself with only a few days to kill in Seoul, what is the best bet? It sounds like no Korean is going to be a huge barrier (I'm working on it, but realistically I'm not going to wow her with my Korean I learn from a CD over the next couple weeks). Money isn't a huge object, but I'd just as soon not spend lots if I don't have to.

JHS,

For down and dirty, uncomplicated action try Itaewon or hook up with a local monger who can take you to an anma (massage place) or red light area.

Itaewon is definitly a YMMV area with chicks ranging from 0-8 in looks. That said, you can get threesomes, straight, anal, or pretty much anything you want within minutes. If you want to invest a little more time, you can hit the "non-juicy" clubs on the main strip or the club in the Hiat for some non-professional action. That usually takes time and money though.

Following up on my question about Seoul, it looks like I'll have several days in Jeonju, further south. Presumably this will be a little tougher area to work something out in without Korean language skills, but I'd take whatever suggestions people have.I haven't been in Jeonju in years (and I've never properly mongered there), but there was a rather large red light district just across the major street from the City Hall the last time I was in town. I didn't have the chance to stay and play, but there were several lovely Pinay that were fluent in English and sounded ready for anything.

There is also a newer large entertainment district on the east side of town between Jeonju train station and A-joong train station. When I passed through, there were plentiful few anmas, barber shops, booking clubs, and hand shops, but again, I wasn't able to sample the goods.

From my time in Jeonju, I can say with a reasonable amount of confidence that it will be difficult to find places that will accept a foreigner, and probably unreasonably optimistic to hope to find a provider that speaks English well. I'd recommend spending your mongering won in Seoul, and spending your time in Jeonju just enjoying the sights and sounds.

JHS 42
03-09-09, 08:31
Well, you were absolutely right (not that I expected otherwise): Seoul is the much better option for the monger with little to no Korean. Unfortunately, due to a bank screw up, I had almost no cash for the Seoul leg of the trip, so I could only wander Itaewon longingly.

By Jeonju, however, I was flush with cash and ready for anything. However, none of it was ready for me. I found the red light district behind City Hall, and I must say I was quite impressed: in general, this was a really hot group of girls. Unfoturnately, despite my best attempts, I couldn't find any interested in playing, despite tries on two separate nights, both of which seemed pretty dead. Many didn't even try to talk to me, just saw I wasn't Korean and shook their heads, or pointed away and said "You go. " Finally, I found one who struck up a conversation with me, and I thought I was good to go. She kept asking me if I spoke Korean, and trying French (I can fake a little French, but I doubt it was better than her English). She let me in, and as she was pulling aside the curtain, she asked again "You NO speak Korean? " I said no, and she frowned, shook her head, and said, "You go home now, " and opened the door back up and pushed me outside. I really have no idea what went wrong, but that was the closest I got.

Anyway, there is my tale of woe.

Hey guys,

Is there a general opening/closing time for BBS, RLDs, or anmas here in Korea? I suppose logically it would be from Dusk til dawn, when it's not broad daylight, but I've had a pro during daylight hours, saw the glass houses open with girls waiting, and my time at a Juicy Bar started at 2pm one day. On the other hand, I went to an Anma and they told me 9pm was their starting time. Are the costs different for service during the day, because of the lack of business? Just curious because I don't live in Seoul or Songtan/Pyongtaek, so I'm limited by transportation times, and I have days off until late afternoon. Where are some est. You know of that are open and giving FS during daylight hours?

I suppose logically it would be from Dusk til dawn, when it's not broad daylight, but I've had a pro during daylight hours, saw the glass houses open with girls waiting, and my time at a Juicy Bar started at 2pm one day. On the other hand, I went to an Anma and they told me 9pm was their starting time. Are the costs different for service during the day, because of the lack of business? Just curious because I don't live in Seoul or Songtan/Pyongtaek, so I'm limited by transportation times, and I have days off until late afternoon. Where are some est. You know of that are open and giving FS during daylight hours?Peak times at RLD's (588 and Cheonho) are between 7pm-5am. you will find open booths, but not as many (dont go to Cheonho after 6am, you've been warned!). 588 has better selection during the day comparatively, but night-time is the best. 8pm-9pm is optimal, since it's less crowded and better selection (plus first dibs is always good!).

BBS's should be open all day, 24/7. as a general rule of thumb, the hotter chicks work at night.

Anmas should be open all day, 24/7 as well.

Does anyone know of a hotel called the Renaissance hotel in Pusan? I will be coming to the Pusan area in Oct. Was told that I will be staying at this hotel, but can not find any info on it on the internet.

I am traveling to Angeles City, Philippines on X-mas. All easy flight connections for me were priced outrageous. I had to route via Seoul (and from ICN to CRK and it was almost same price than my trip from Europe to Seoul). I have been browsing this short forum and I gather this is not competitive mongering scene. As I am going to phils it does not really matter. But I have ten hours to kill in the airport. Where in internet I could potentially find a local female tourist guide (looking for a friend) to show me around in Seoul?

Try your luck on the girls from 141, there is a website where you can find some Korean girls too offering their service out of hotels.

Got a mobile phone while I was in KL. However it will not work in Korea because of the different frequency. I know people from Malaysia that got their phone "locked" here without being charged for roaming fees. Does anyone know where this can be done? I want to change it to a Korean cell company but everything is CDMA here.

Hey does anyone know the scoop on Jeonju and Paju?

I thought those two places were the ultimate in HOT girls and DFK raw sex. Are they still in business? Pyongtaek and 588 were close seconds. I plan to make a victory tour this August.

I think it is the same issue one has in Japan.

Before 3G technology no european phone worked in Japan (but the SIM did) so one needed to rent a local phone.

Now with 3G technology my blackberry works fine.

I rate same applies in S.Korea

Any suggestion for a phone type or service to address translator for K-E, J-E, and Mandarin - English.

Thanks

Recently visited Seoul and had some fun in the Songsan RLD. Was basically my first experience in Korea. Any advice for future experiences will be appreciated. E.g. how can I find RLDs, especially in cities other than Seoul? Can I always recognize them by te curtains? Are they marked on city maps?

I went to the Songsan RLD on a week day during the afternoon, so many booths were empty. But thanks to the curtains it was easy to find when I left the subway station. The girl I chose was in her thirties, nice full boobs, but starting to get a little bit chubby around the belly. Very friendly attitude, quite horny. Got a nice covered blowjob with the right amount of sucktion, neither too hard nor too soft for my little willy, and then some fucking in doggy style and missionary, until I was satisfied and filled the condom with my cream. Price was 50.000. (I hope I didn't overpay - being a beginner I have such problems in other countries)

Hey SK mongers.

I'm thinking of booking a flight out of here for a week. I know I can read all of the individual reports on the other boards, but on some level it's more interesting and insightful to get others opinions here in S. Korea.

Just curious which destination is the best bang for the buck for mongering outside of Korea when leaving from SK? I'm supposing the two best spots are really Thailand or Philippines but Bejing is one big place and seems like the cheapest flight.

Tell me what you think!?

depends on what you're looking for.

the cheapest hole possible to plug? Won't be China, not even remotely close. P4P in China is quite expensive, comparable to Korea. Take budget airlines to Thai or Pi and the flight difference won't be huge.

Hey Guys,

Wrote a little blurb in the "Pusan" Section, just wanted to cover all of my bases here. Ship's headed over to Pusan in a few weeks, so just wanted to get to skinny on this country. I've been to some "An-Ma" Style spots before, and I definitely wanted to refresh my memory on that style, as it has been a while. Any solid spots within spitting distance of Busan?

Thanks in advance!

Didn't know where else to turn, so hopefully someone can help me out.

My wife is visiting Korea next month and I am trying to find out the status of the Yongsan Army post move. Has it happened? Have things like hospital, PX, etc been relocated?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I will be returning to Seoul in Sept and have a question on tipping the girls who work at the Barbershops. I have been to a few such establishments over the years and have never tipped the actual provider. Am I wrong here. Should I tip, and if so how much? Any info on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

magic501No it has not moved, still the same as it has been for years. She may have trouble getting into things like the PX and commissary that require a ration card. Even if she has a dependent ID card she will not be able to get a temp ration card without the sponsor being here with her.

Currently in a small city in Korea. Many 'barbershops' here (obviously selling sex - open at 1 am, private entrances). Speaking no more Korean than 'Hi', 'Whats your name' and 'how much?' and having never been to one of these places, whats are my options? Any info that can help me get my dick wet here is much appreciated!

I'm actually not sure entirely when you say options. In regards to barbershops, sports massages, anywhere that has a double barberpole, I would say go for it. I will caution that from my limited experience they vary in service alot. It's nice you go for a massage, sometimes hot towels/oil, then a HJ all the way to FS depending on the place, then you get to sleep as long as you want there. All for around 70,000won.

If you are interested in what else Korea has to offer, I found a very comprehensive link to an overview of the things Korea has:

Enjoy!

Thanks. I guess what I meant was can I just roll into one of these barbershops and sit down, or will I be embarrassingly rejected at the door as a non-Korean speaking foreigner?

If there really is a barber chair....then I think it is a real hair cutting barbershop that may or may not have additional services.

Most of the double pole barbershops have individual rooms with raised massage beds and are dimly lit.

You will know very quickly if they won't give you service.

You should know how to say hello/thank you/smile in a formal manner(Just Google it) Otherwise it's rude not to give a proper greeting and they'll think you are lost if you don't say anything and just staring at them.

I'm going to be honest if this is your first time in Korea, then I recommend you go to an Anma (안마). I don't think you'll ever experience an Anma back home. It is more expensive. You'll be paying over $200 depending on how foreign you look.

You can look at the "reports of distinction" for directions to some Anmas

Thanks. I'm in Jinju and as far as I can tell there are no anmas here. I've walked the whole city several times over.

I can say basic things like "annyong hashimnika" and ask "alma" etc. but other than that I am lost. Do you think trying one of these places (downstairs locations near business clubs/room salons and noraebangs, with lights on and double polls spinning till 3 and 4 in the morning) is worth a try or an absolute waste of time?

Thanks again for all the help.

I found two anmas, but didn't partake. Instead I linked up with a local guy who speaks English fairly well. He took me to a row of small motels with nearly identical signs on a side road near the train stations. We negotiated with an ajumma standing in front of one. She said the normal price was 30,000 but I'd have to pay 60,000 "because Westerners are bigger physically." I agreed on the price.

My friend told me I could have taken off her top, got a handjob, blowjob, 69, etc. for more but I was fine with a quicky.

She asked what kind of girl I was looking for. I said one in her 20s. I went in a small room and waited. The girl showed up after about 2 minutes. A bit scraggly looking but pretty and thin nonetheless. She took off her pants and panties. I took off everything. She slapped my cock around (literally) until it was tight enough to put a tight Korean condom on, lubed her pussy, laid on her back and spread her legs.

It felt great but it was the first time I could tell a woman really wasn't into it. That was a bit of a turnoff. Her refusal to do any other positions was too. After pumping away for 20 minutes I finally came. She removed my condom, cleaned my cock, dressed and was out the door.

It was OK for what it was but I hoped for more. At the very least something close to my experience in 160/200 dollar Korean massage joints in the states.

My friend told me barbershops offer a BJ for 10,000 to locals and massage spots near the train station offer FS for 50,000. I'm sure my prices will be higher, but I'd like to try them for the experience. I'll also try to hit an anma before I jet.

Any advice on how to request BBFS or my best chance of what type of place to get it in (anma, barbershop, etc)?

Also, do the "sports massage" places in Busan with signs in English, Japanese and Korean offer more than a straight massage?

Hello fellow mongers,

Long time lurker here. Been living in Seoul for about a year now, had my fill of Korean women, p4p and freebies.

Looking to find some filipina, Indo's or Thai ladies, any places that have such nationalites, bars or otherwise?

Thank you

Has anyone had any luck trying to score with the russian maids that occasionally work in hotels? Maybe they will be willing, since it's kind of private, easy and potentially lucrative.
