Day 1:

The Hill is as bad as ever, since the 9pm curfew was imposed back in 2001. At the top of the Hill on the left as you ascend, there's dark bar/disco - here there were more MPs than mongers and pussy combined. Yeesh!
Couple of freelancers in 3s/4s on the road just off the main road near Hamilton Hotel - quoted 150k. Screw that!

I've gone through 10 or 11 pages of this thread, looking for directions to "O2", in Yongsan. Eventually, I ran into the "flame war" that went on a few months ago - got frustrated and stopped looking.

First, can anyone make it easy for me and tell me how to get to O2? Thanks, in advance.

Second, perhaps this is best addressed to Jackson: Can we have a page on the South Korea site, called "Directions"? We are almost unique, here, in that Korea does not generally have street names (except for major roads), so that directions to this place or that, generally have to be wordy and descriptive - you can't just describe a place as being at: "123 Plain Street" - because that would be too sensible for this country.

Walk down the main road that runs in front of the Yongsan electronics market heading in the direction of Wonhyo bridge. Once you pass the home appliances market called Electroland, look up for the O2 sign. It's fairly large and is just before a Hyundai Motor dealership.

Can anyone tell me the directions to Yongjookul by car? I am having a hell of a time trying to find where it is on a map, let alone directions. Mebbe the korean spelling may clear things up. ALMy info may be dated and not terribly accurate but its about 10km East of Munsan. Camp Gary Owen used to be there before it moved to the former Camp Pelham and took the name with it. If you can get a military map that would be the easiest way to find it. There used to be over 100 clubs there. It was heaven before the Olympics and the US forces moving off the DMZ. Hope that helps, a little.

Route no1.
Grab a cab and ask to take you to "Land Cinema, Yongsan."
The Driver will drop you beneath the overpass that hanging between
two buildings. From there, walk to the South / to the river-bound.
O2 is on the left side as you walk. If the driver drops you right,
you will see a parking garage on your right side, and the Big Electronics
market on your left. When the building on your leftside finishes, O2 is
on B2 floor of the second(?) or third bulding, where the first floor holds
the Hyundai car dealer.

Route No 2.
If you don't want to spend few bucks on the taxi, here is the long
(and somewhat confusing) way to get to O2. Get a subway to Yongsan Stn (#1).
When you exit, try to find the sign "Yongsan Electronics Market".
(Mindlessly following junior kids is a good strategy here. Probably they are heading
the Electronics Market, but not O2) Unless you are lost or something,
you will walk over the railroad through the glass corridor, and will land
near the large parking lot. From there, go strait up, hit the first/busy 6-lane road,
take a left turn, then walk all the way down. (You are heading South / again to the River).
When you begin to think you might lost, you will see the overpass I mentioned
in the Route No.1. method. The rest is the same.

Comment 1: Does O2 serve the "foreigner community"? Last time I check with their mamasan,
she said "only when accompanied with the locals" and she kindly reminded me of
the surcharge of 40,000 won (total in 200,000 won).
There must be a phone number somewhere on the board, which I believe I wrote long time ago.

Comment 2: If they do accept you, be sure to ask the mileage card, which entitles
a free service with 10 stamps. I was skeptical about that card, but once I got a free f**k,
there was no such sweet experience.

When I attempted to go a few months back, it took a while for me to get my bearings in the station. Here's what I remembered:

The Yongsan subway station is also the railway station. Head up to the main level. When you are facing the railway ticket counters, exit via the doors behind you. You will be in-between two tall commercial buildings. The one infront is a mall. To your right wide stairs lead down to street level. Go right. You'll end up at a balcony, overlooking the rail tracks. The building across is a small shopping complex. To your right, there's a covered overpass. Use it to get across and into the shopping complex. Exit that building on the opposite side from the subway/railway station. Go left toward the circular building, the Electronics Market. When you pass the parking lot entrance to this building on your left, you will come up to the main street. To your left along this building is the street leading to Wonhyo Bridge and O2. Follow this street until the E Market building ends. At this corner, you will see O2 sign on the next building across the street.

Lotto Anma: At the corner above, turn right and look across the intersection. There's a parking area next to a tall building. That building contains a mini-mart, restaurant, and Lotto Anma. (I forgot which floor, but you can't miss it.) I decided to give it a try. The whole floor is devoted to this place, so when the elevator doors open, you will step right into the reception area. What a surprise. Anyway, it costed W170K (with a credit card). The service is similar to O2 that others have described in Oct 2004: soapie, BJ, FS, massage, food, etc. The shower/bath rooms are to the left, waiting area on the right, and massage rooms behind the wait room. I had to catch a train back to Busan, so I didn't check out the whole place or all the offerings. Plus, they hardly spoke English, so I couldn't communicate what I wanted. I declined the massage and sleepover options, but wanted a quick meal, but they couldn't deliver in time, so the male attendant brought a tray of apple slices. Oh well. He was very courteous, even so far as coming down to the street and catching a taxi for me. Next time I am definitely using them as an overniter place with a happy ending. Or, happy beginning.

I've been to Korea quiet a few times. Been of korean family.
About 8 years ago I was supposed to meet a friend of mine from NY in Seoul.
He got there before I did and couldn´t get any luck.
He tried some of the karaoke places and clubs but no luck.
One of the places wa owned by one of my dad's oldest friend.
When we met in Seoul, we went out for dinner with business associates and then for afterhours we decided to go sing(korean passtime).
I called uncle and asked which place was closest to where we were. He owns quiet a few places in Korea. We got there and my friend recognized the place as been one of the ones he couldn´t get any action.
We got there and my uncle had 10 girls waiting for us. We were in 5 and the other ones had gone home.
It was funny because the girls that wouldn´t speak to him the time he tried, now were hands all over.
We end up spending a week going out with 4 of the girls. We ventured into clubs and by no means my koreans is perfect but it was all a matter of atittude.

There is no need to go to Itaewon. If you even have some more money, try the places near Kangnam or in Apkujong.

This is one of the many anma's on the hill near Yoksam Stn (Line 2, Exit 10) across from the Samsung SDS bldg. I've tried Paradise, Baeksong (a new one with fancy interiors), and then, most recently, Zeus. The girl I met was called Sun. She is a great GFE--the works. apologies first as i'm maybe repeating a question that i'd posed earlier without getting a reply - i'm sure that this isn't the best website etiquette - but then again i'm in korea for a short time so getting a bit desperate on time.

yes, cheonho has a huge rld. however, the dark narrow alleys are not as inviting, lit up, or in-your-face type of places like in yongsan/588/ or miari..

the girls don't sit behind the windows and there's no one to call you in if

Went to this rld the other night and I must say I was impressed. Just right behind the Shinsagae Mall around the Yong Dong Poh She Jang station. Yong Dong Po is trash and shady and every night you will encounter the lights being off and cops patrolling, that whole area is known for it's dirty girls.

Here goes:

When I said "the main street," I meant the narrow, yet busy, one that has the "Nabi" shopping center on it. NOT, i repeat, NOT the one with the Hyundai department store and E-mart. Actually, if you hit E-mart, just keep walking down the sidewalk towards the Face Shop and follow through until you hit the first small one way street I'm talking about. You'll see cars going out of this "one way" street. From here, just follow my directions as I mentioned before...In short, from here, go East, pass the Nabi shopping center (looks like Migliore), hit T-section, go North, then turn right into the small street.

i'm sorry to have to answer your request for more informative posts with what will sound uninformative. however, i do want to respond.

i've been in korea almost without interruption for nearly five years now. most of that time was spent in seoul, though i'm now in busan, and will be here through next summer.

Finally found the Songho Shijang (market) RLD. It's in Seongnam around the Bundang area. Sadly, the whole place was shutdown. It almost looked like they had a crackdown there or something. Then again, maybe it was because I went there around lunchtime on a Saturday afternoon. Anyway, dozens of windows and quiet alleys, but not a single girl in site. Not even old hags looking for money. Everything was closed, dead.

Anyway, the whole place looked bigger than 588 (Cheyongyangnee)and more in the style of those nocturnal-ajumma Cafe places with the curtains down. However, some looked like the standard RLD windows that you find in Yongsan and 588. Maybe there's some action happening there late at night, I don't know.

If you wanna have a stroll, here's how to find it:

Get off at Moran Station in Bundang. Take PINK line Exit #12 (not yellow line). As soon as you come out of the exit, there's a bus stop next to a BIG crab place restaurant. Take a yellow bus, going to "Songho Shi-jang" for about 1 km. You will hear the voice message in the bus saying "Songho shijang." Get off, then walk about 300 metres in the same direction of the bus' route. You will pass the market and a small intersection. After the intersection, keep walking in the same direction until you hit "Popey's". Now, turn right into a narrow alley. You are there. At least a hundred windows with interwinding streets.

Just went there today and it was in full force. Every shop had at least 5-6 girls and stretched for golmoks. After the shijang I couldn't find a popeyes but I turned right anyway and then bingo. There they all were. Saturday night about 11: 00, girls all wearing different attire like high school and stewardess uniforms as well as import model gear. I had a pretty good booking experience last week. Wandering through Chongno I was suprised to be invited by some "pikis" into a Korean night club. (When I called him a piki though he got offended and insisted that he was a "bodyguard". Haha.) Anyway, we asked about booking and he said okay so we tried it.

Got a fruit plate - yee ha- and about 5 or 6 beers for 50,000 won and as promised the guys started bringing girls to our table. The first few were bored, boring and very unfriendly. Things didn't look good. Then one really unattractive girl came over and seemed to really be into me. I was trying to get rid of her but she wanted to dance so I finally agreed, mainly to check out the dance floor action. When she stood up I realized she had a smoking hot bod so I decided to go for it.

Then when we got back to the table, the waiters had brought another girl for my buddy. She was the hottest one yet and they seemed to hit it off right away. My ugly girl went back to her table to get some cigarettes and while she was there a waiter grabbed her and took her to another table for booking so I lost out.

You have several options in Korea. IMHO, the best thing is AnMa, which means massage. It's rather expensive (180,000 KRW = 180 USD) but quality of girl-wise and service-wise, it's much better than RLD, Barbershop (I have never tried those because of cleanness issues), collegegirl handplay shops :)

So tried out that Barber shop in Hannam that Dark Imperious described. Man that was not 200 meters from the intersection. More like 100. Also someone said there were two close to each other. I didnt see another one. So I went to the one that said Sports Massage.

I've been going to Dabangs for years and never had much happen. One time, at a Gangneung bus terminal area dabang my friend and I got served by two very young and extremely ugly girls. Why do I keep going back? I just like the old Korean feel on a cold winter day, and the mystery and the small chance that something might happen. I also found that the smaller the town, the better looking and younger the women are. Seoul's dabangs seem to be all 40 something ajumas. So it is possible to get a really nice looking, good bodied young lady to sit with you for a while.

Here's my advice: Never be scared to ask the women in a dabang, "Hey, do you know where I can meet a lady?" They'll either help you or they won't but they won't be offended. Also, remember that most dabangs close around 8 p.m. I think, so lots of the ladies in them are off to work somewhere else afterwards. Pursue that. Ask them what they are doing after work. If they want your money or companionship they'll let you know.

Tried Bundang RLD at 6PM on Sunday and it looked like they were just starting to open. Many shops were closed and the others were washing their windows, putting make-up on and eating.
