Well I've lurked these forums long enough, and finally have a little bit to contribute. I'm sure nothing in this will be new for the veterans out there.

I was out recently with a couple of Korean friends celebrating one of them moving to the U.S soon, but the bar scene was dead that night. I don't see most of the Korean ladies as being sexy. They are all nice to look at, but that's about it (i.e. no urges to bone them or fall in love with them. :o )

Ok, they do have the latest fashion designs. So, they have recent styles, but not sexy. Compare to Thailand, Hong Kong, Philippines, or Hawaii, Korean girls are quite conservative. And, I'm talking about the ones on the streets and in the malls.

I doubt it had anything to do with the government. I suspect that there have been reports of foreigners availing themselves of the Anmas, and that the vocal minority (or is it majority in this case) of local men pressed the issue with the owners. If these owners are good business men, then they acted to protect their business. Then again - there may be no logical reason at work here. But, I'd put a large wager it was business related.

I can't confirm that. After a month of holiday from mongering I returned to the scene and went to Miari yesterday.

As usual if you enter right after Subway exit 10 the first 'gate' (= curtain) to the right, in the first alley with the open curtains the mamasans will not approach you as a foreigner. But as soon as you reach the first 'crossing' where the mamasans sometimes gather for chatting they are open up to show you their girls and recommend them with 'service good'. As a frequent customer they recognize me as such and friendly as I am, I great them as well.

Are you really considering to go to Korea for Mongering only? You might be a pussy collector and Korean Pussy is nice. So if it is for 'collection' purpose its ok, but never think on any price value ratio if you monger in Korea.

Actually Eden isnt that much cheaper then an Anma. The reason people go there because the service is 1st rate! You have a hard time finding people who have gone to Eden and werent satisfied with the service. It isnt the thing to do if you are in for the cheap option. On the other hand you can look at this thread and you will see several complaints regarding various anmas. it is rather difficult to describe. As you said my favourite place it isnot in the first shops after entrance from subway exit 10.
After the first 'open curtain row' you come to a 'crossing', where usually some mama-sans gather for chatting. This weekend I wanted to try something different. I said, why not somehow explore the spots in my neighbourhood. I’m sure that there are exceptions. . But I think that the following story is a good example of the attitude of most business owners in Korea.

I flew in at around 6: 00PM, was at my hotel by around 8: 00PM, and after a 1/2 hour work call, it was off on the prowl. I am staying at the Intercon South of the river, so all the RLD seemed like hard work, and it is pissing down rain tonite, so I decided it would have to be a local expedition. Saw a few post from the resident Gurus that recommended the Anma Teheran, and lo and behold, it is only one train stop on the two line. Off I go.

Never having been to Seoul, I was immediately struck by the fact that nobody can speak a freaking word of English. These folks make the Thais look like a bunch of linguists! I wandered through the Coex mall, through a huge crowd of people for 20 minutes, finally found the train (thank god I jumped the one going in the right direction), followed Big Kahuna and Brain's directions out of the Soeleung station. I have an umbrella, but man it is pissing down, I go three streets, hang a left, another left into an alley, and there are a dozen places that are obviously knock shops (barber shop poles, car wash curtains, etc), but all these dudes are glaring at me, taxi's spraying puddles all over me, and I can't find the place. I briefly consider a tactical retreat to the hotel room and the yellow pages, but decide maybe I will go back to Terehran street, go one more down, then left and left. Bingo!

I am not sure of your preferences or financial situation but RLD IMHO are a let down compared to ANMAs. My preference is ANMAs.

If you like to be pampered and can afford it then I would stick to ANMAs but for your short time in Korea you might want to try all of it, i.e. BS, RLD, Room Salons. Do a BS during the day or early evening then a RLD. The next night do a room salon.

You are correct in assuming its the luck of the draw.

I can recommend King ANMA and Myong ANMA in the Gangnam area which are close to the Solleung subway stop.

Near the Nambu bus terminal I can recommend Komodo and Venius ANMAs.
My all time fav is at Venius. The only issues are the ANMA signs are written in Korean. ANMA looks like this 안마 in Korean.

Just came from my first ever Bangkok trip myself. Several reports will be issued shortly.
But I fully agree, Bangkok is increadible, compared to here and probably all other P4p areas in the world. Nice woman, beautiful ones if you don't play the ceap charly. Air travel in and out of Korea is so expensive. I've seen 400,000 won for August but I'd be surprised to see a ticket for less than double that around Christmas. Not exactly cheap. :(

As a frequent flier of Thai airlines.......you can expect to pay about 580,000 around Xmas. If you go to a travel agent and they say 700k just go somewhere else and you will get a lower price. Also it is hi season in Thailand so there are tons of Farangs and also hotels jack up their prices too. Though where would you rather be?

Well what can you say about Seoul. I think the last 2 times I went for a stroll it was up the hill in Itaewon. I dont have anything much to add other then it was not that good. The one thing that was kinda cool.....Last time I was there around 1am on a Saturday and they werent busy so I was offered 2 girls for 100k I cant remember the name of the place and I was soo hammered! Though I can remember it is right across from that big bar half way up the hill. That being said the service was crap and I havent been back since and have decided to use all available funds for future Thai excursions.

First post here.

I am currently in Southkorea just going around Asia at the moment and I have been reading up on some of the posts here in the forum. After reading Brains post about the New York Sauna I just had to go and make a visit.

First off, there is no sign in English or any langugae similar to a roman alphabet, there might be a Korean sign however since my Korean is pretty much non existent I couldn't really read any of it. I did however finally find the entrance because of the outside banner that had a N with the statue of liberty in it, I kinda figured it had to be there. The entrance is across from New York Deli and next to a coffe place, just take the elevator to 6th floor and you are in business.

On arrival I got the price quoted, 210.000 Won, just pay up and be happy because I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

From here on it is a lot like the Hong Kong Saunas, you are led to a locker room and given a robe and shown where the showers are, just take a shower and brush your teeth, there is a saun in here and also razors for the ones that want a shave, however I opted not to and did get a pleasant surprise afterwards.

After the shower I put on the robe and wandered outside, they ask you what you want to do first, it appears that the service is two fold, a massage and a "massage" for the initiated.

The regular massage is a blind man massage, that is a blind Korean will give you a really good massage. I opted for that first off since I would feel to relaxed and happy to do it afterwards. The blind man massage is done on the same floor, just keep your robe on at all times :D

After the massage I was led downstairs to the big piece de la resistance. I was left alone in the room for a while, it is two rooms, one shower room with a bed and the regular bed.

Dont go by Thais website it is alot higher then you will get from a Travel agent. Anyway I got my ticket at that time for 500k this was 18 months ago. You might have a fuel surcharge to pay and some other things but if you book early you will get the cheapest seat........

as committed I was starting my Seoul activities again, after that great week in Thailand. More or less I was kicking myself, or better, I waited until my hydraulic pressure rose to a critical level. 1) You can "order" some hookers to your hotel room, theres no problem with foreigners but that should be more than 100.000 @itaewon you can get under 100.000, but you have to spend much negotian engery for that.

You can find fixed prices (~70.000) at the RLDs, think Miari is the most foreigner friendly.

I always ask them to take me to Yongsan or Oh Pal Pal, but they always give me the stupid excuse about raids and that the places have close, which by reading the posts, I know its a lie. Seems like Yongsan is the best place to go based on the foreigner acceptance, but I also want to try out Miari, but again, Koreans tell me its unsafe. Can someone give me their 2 cents worth? Janghanpyeong is easy as I made buds with the papasan in one of the places, so everytime I go, he already has the girls ready for me. I find it to be the best place to visit as the service is usually average, for only 100,000won.Well, the truth is, since the passage of the law against sexual activities passed 2 years ago (soon to have its 2 year anniversary), RLD have been pretty hard hit, although I've heard that they are slowly making a comeback. While they are still operating, there will be the occassional raids, and if you're really unlucky, you can get caught and have to go through a whole heap of mess.

Also, if you're a foreigner (which I am assuming that you are), many of the places at 588 and Youngdeungpo won't take you, and some girls that will take you from the B row at Yongsan probably won't be of the higher quality in terms of looks. The RLD experience is pretty much your McDonalds experience in terms of service. No shower facilities, they'll clean you down with a disinfectant tissue, 1 min BJ, 30 sec tit licking, then wham-bam-thankyou-ma'am experience. The charge now is 70,000 for 20 min, 140,000 for 40 min, and 210,000 for 1 hour. Becoming less worth it IMHO. Also likely that the girls will act like they're doing you a big favor by taking you, and will demand that you finish quick. Not what I'd call a pleasant experience.

Miari you may have more success, as that area was first created for the American GI's stationed in the area, and I've heard that they are more foreigner-friendly.

How you approach these girls is, as you're walking down the area, they'll call out to you. When there is about to be a crackdown, or LE are guarding the entrance of the RLD, the lights will be out and curtains are drawn, but if you get close enough, they'll peak out from the curtains and call out to you. OR, you can just walk down the street (and up and down, and up and down...) until you see something you like. Give her the eye, and see how she responds (does she smile, wave you over, etc) then go up and talk to her. The base price is always the same, so don't even put up with the bullshit about charging you for more. The ugliest to the prettiest in the RLD all charge the same 70K. 140K and 210K.

Usually no kissing, no DATY, some might even get pissy at you for tit sucking. As I said, the Korean RLD is probably one of the tops in the world in terms of looks, but the service is very very bare minimum. But you never know, as you may find a gem anywhere.

In terms of danger level, well, you kinda leave it up to fate, but as I said, there IS a possibility that you might be involved in a raid and it'll be pretty embarrassing. During the last 6 months or so, cops will patrol through the RLD on weekend nights pretty regularly, causing them to turn the lights off and close curtains, but as soon as cops are gone, the place comes back again. You being a foreigner, may attract additional attention.

Hope this is helpful, and play safe. Just wanted you to know that you shouldn't have too much expectation in terms of service from the RLD. It's just a quick and (relatively) cheap way to drain your nutsack.

Just for the formal introduction. Long time reader of ISG, new member to provide the input that many of you also have done here. If I can sum up this board, I would say a few things to chapter what I have found out here, for both the Korea and China forums.

Kim Chi man, or whatever his new alias is, posts very irrelvent contributions to sharing to the explicit details to how this forum should be.

Brain666 has been a very inspiring member to my own experiences here being in Seoul for the past 3 years. For that I admire him and when I get the opportunity to upgrade my account to Senior member it would one day be an honor for me to monger with him.

And of course, cannot forget, OAH for China, is a legend beyond compare.

To others also new to forum who are new to this hobby, as we cannot repeat it enough, RTTF.

In questions about safety of the hobby it can also be repeated that yes there is risk involved but once again this is not Thailand, the Phillipines, or even the US(my town back home has one of the highest HIV rates in the country; therefore qualifying the nation to just be just as dangerous as some of the other Southeast Asia countries)

Just got back from Yeongdeungpo RLD. I did not part take.

I haven't been there in a while (3 years). Not sure if it was due to Chusok or it is always slow but I counted about 10 windows open out of about 45.

I saw two police cars there while I walk thru the area. Very similiar to 588, there was only one street or row.

The girls were similar to 588 and Yongsan girls dress wise. I would rate them about 7-8 for looks.

There are a total of about 45 windows but not all are occupied for whatever reasons.

I saw alot of foreigners in the area not to say that they were necessarily clients but maybe trying to become clients.

With some time to kill last night me and my best bud took another trip up to Miari to see what action lay ahead. Got off at the alternate entrance opposite the Girieum subway station, and suprisingly enough, for a Monday night, there were many clients to be noticed walking the streets. Anyway, after just about attempting to give up and go home because I was still being selfish about where I wanted to go and had to actually see a stunner beyond compare before my friend could convince me to break off from my addictions,checked out this last store. Asked the ajuma to open it up, she gave the secret knock to indicate that potential customers were to be had, and I must say I was stunned from first sight. Anyway, the facility was no Yongjukgol by far, but had the standard fan, 10pyeong abode with a low bed and some akward picture in the corner of a european couple embracing. As a Gyopo, Youngdengpo has actually become one of my favorites. I don't know if it's my taste or if the best looking girls at 588, miari or yongsan are just busy when I come around (I just can't seem to get there enough at peak hours), but I consistently find the girls that I like at Youngdengpo. I don't find them any dirtier or cleaner than other girls at other RLDs. The area looks a bit more seedy and dangerous, in part because of small shops with guys working with metals and of a police station nearby.

I find the girls less mechanical than Yongsan on the average. I also like the girls I find in the afternoons there. They see less customers walking by, but they tell me they have their regulars and plenty income. I found one of the most gorgeous girl, physically and facially, that I have ever had sex with working in the afternoon. I was addicted to her for a whole week before I left and kept thinking about her back in the States.

I honestly don't know if they take foreigners but people on the board have told us that they don't.

Howdy, it's been a while. Anyhow, I've had the chance to experience a lot and I'll break up my different experiences into different posts. I'll start off by picking up from my last point. The last time I wrote, I talked about a RLD that started with a "H" and I was completely off the mark. It was in fact 588.

A couple nights after our first misadventure, my cousin and I went back. DHWell this WAS my first experience in Korea and for a first time, it was REALLY nice and I wasn't going there with high hopes. I have read many pages of the forums before my first post and I pretty much had a mindset of what to expect but this was a totally different experience from that. Perhaps that is why I rate it so high. As for mongering, most of my experience comes from Mexico, as it is so much more closer to my normal residence.
