I went to the RLD at Cheonho tonight (Fri. , around 9pm). It was mostly as what Halcyon901 said.

Here are the directions again, since it's hard to find posts around here: go out of Exit 3 of the Cheonho subway station, Line 5. Go straight up the street, make a right at the big intersection (there will be an SK gas station diagonally opposite you). Walk up the street until you see a crosswalk right after the 2001 outlet. Cross the street, pass the police station on your left, and pass some shops on your right. You'll find the RLD on your right.

I think I found the particular booth that Halcyon901 liked. Make a right at the first alley after the shops, and the booth is right where the alley forks. There were hardly any other guys walking around, and there were only a few booths open. The one at the fork had 5 girls there, and I went in, talked to the ajumma a bit with my broken Korean. Short time (15-20 min) was 70, 000W. I tried to negotiate to 60, 000W, but she said no. I picked out a girl and we went upstairs. Hey buddy, glad you enjoyed Cheonho. I personally went to the booth you speak of, at least 6 times! Personally, that booth has the most selection, although when you walk there, the two booths on the right are great as well. I called them A Team and B Team. You will notice that the girls at those booths wear similar outfits, one side will wear white, the other side will wear black.

Did you get to walk around towards the back alleys? Word of caution: When walking in the back alley, the one running parallel to the main street, do not go past the last couple of booths. At the end, it is really dark, and the gate is closed. During the day, you will see that it actually leads into some type of market. Also, if you don't want to pass the police station, keep walking further down, and you will see an alley to your left. This alley is another entrance. You can see the lights glowing from the main road. This alley is pretty good as well, there are plenty of good looking girls in the first 4-5 booths. If you go further down, you will see a few more, on either side.

It seems like the ones in the back are a little easier to negotiate. Honestly, the quality is fairly equal with others. The only alley I don't recommend is the middle alley, running perpendicular to the main road. If you walk around enough, I am sure you will figure this out too!

I went to Itaewon on Saturday night to check out the scene there, and was hugely disappointed with what was on offer compared to the relative "quality" that could be found a few years ago.

Many of the bars were single girl bars when in the past they had three or four working in them, and the quality on offer left a lot to be desired.

I fully agree to your assessment. Itaewon is dying and this is day by day. I am only about 2 1/2 years here, so I never experienced the glory I have been told. Can't understand the girl’s business method either. They are obviously lacking customers (some honestly tell you that I would be first customer a day, and I believe it) and instead of trying to get a solid repeating customer base by being honest and charge reasonable price with good service, they only try to rip you off and want to charge way off anything realistic for any service. No wonder that they are dying.

Itaewon hill and surrounding areas will soon be fully in black hands (this is no offense, just a record – to avoid misunderstanding). Almost every week one regular shop or former girly bar is converted in a Kebab house, African or oriental restaurant or such.

Just next door in a regular club, if you are somehow nice and friendly and 'reasonably' approaching by taking time, you can capture plenty of freebees looking for adventure. No success guarantee, but my impression is that the regular Itaewon clubs more and more frequently get visited by regular girls groups who get to know that foreigners can be had there. Not so obviously and to easy, but you can be successful here with reasonable efforts for a couple of drinks. This is as well the reason why my contribution in this section dropped recently.

My best RLD for the quick fuck is still Miari, but not all share this opinion on this board. The current site of Yongsan RLD is sitting on very expensive land and will be torned down for high rise luxury condo's and office towers. Ever since the Seoul government designated Yongsan as an international district to attract foreign investment land prices high skyrocked. Currently some parts of Yongsan is now more expensive than the affluent Gangnam district.

I am not sure if the recontruction has began or you just went during a very slow period. Anyway recontruction will start sooner or later and Yongsan RLD will be history unless somehow they can find alternative land space in that area.

Hey everyone, I just joined the forum and this is my first report.

I just went on the recomendations of some of the previous posters here. I went on Friday night (I know, bad time...) and COOL had lots of fancy cars and a crowd of Koreans standing by the door, so I just walked past. This was around 12:30 AM. I personally do not believe that the crackdown at belle had anything to do with a 'recent influx of foreigners' I have become friends with one of the girls who worked there. She says foreigners have been going there for a long time, the girls actually prefer foreign men to Korean men because according to them Korean men are jerks / not as sweet (No offense to any of our Korean counterparts, I have many Korean friends and hold no ill will toward any of them I am simply repeating what several of the girls there have stated).

She says that a good portion of their business particularly during the daytime were foreign English teachers in particular. What happened is something one of my male Korean friends has told me happens quite often to these businesses. A customer was not satisfied with the service he received and felt ripped off, probably a Korean man trying to obtain extras then used threats to try and get them from the girls. The girls rejected and so the man calls the police and reports the business as a means of inflicting some sort of passive-aggressive revenge against them.

Most of these establishments have some sort of arrangement with either organized crime or the police department directly. They pay protection money to them. However if a report like this is made they have no choice but to make a formal investigation and complete the paperwork. No customers were questioned to my knowledge but the employees and employers had to go to the police station and be questioned. The end result is they were made to pay a fine and some of the girls quit. The business is still operating as usual and will continue to do so. Once this sort of thing happens it is generally quite some time before it happens again so I don't think anyone really has to worry about going back there.

On a side note I agree whole heartedly that some common sense rules do apply to this sort of thing. Using a credit card or calling from your own phone is a really big mistake. If you must call I would suggest using a payphone as it can not be traced back to you and cash is a must. I would never even consider using a credit card, in fact generally speaking I prefer not to use a credit card even at restaurants and other legitimate businesses both for fears of my activities being monitored as well as fears that in the wrong hands a credit card number could be used to commit fraud. Perhaps this is paranoid to an extent but at least I never have to worry about such things. With the price of most things in Korea I have never found it difficult or troubling to carry enough cash on hand, I guess some people worry about carrying large sums of cash but I have never had a problem. You do need to be a little careful when in a crowded train though as pickpocketing is still a pretty big problem here.

Also I would like to add that while many places will still turn away or try to overcharge foreign customers the easiest way to get around that is to go in with a Korean friend who can vouch for you. Even some places which have been stated to turn away customers have accepted me when I was accompanied by a colleague and I have never paid more than a Korean native for any services. My friends have said while some places worry that seeing westerners may offend some of their customers the biggest issue is actually the language barrier. Also you have the places which have had a bad experience with some drunk army guy or something going in there and causing a problem. I find as long as you are polite, speak at least basic Korean phrases and treat both the staff and the girls with respect you will become a valued customer.

So remember, play safe and play nice, please don't ruin it for the rest of us.

My guess is she was trying to say if you don't like it you can leave. FYI if you are not satisfied you have a few minutes with the girl to decide and you can request a refund. The owners do not pay the protection money to police / organized crime so they get cracked down on every few months but they just pay the fines every time and keep the doors open for business.

So imho, sad as it may be it is probably best to stay away from there - really sucks because the pickings are slim for us foreigners.

To try and help out I explored a bit with a Korean friend of mine today. The results of todays exploration is as follows:

1% Massage - 200,000 won. 1 hour. Full service. No foreigners accepted.

If you walk down the street from belle, toward 1% massage, pass it and keep going strait. Go to the intersection and strait across the street. Keep going strait a little further and u will see an anma on the left. 180,000 won. 1 hour. Full service. No foreigners accepted.

Did find a place down one of the alley ways near cool/belle/etc called "Skin Anma" (Written only in Hangul). 180,000 won... 2 full hours. full service. Amazingly they will accept foreigners... but they rip us off for 250,000 won for the same service that is usually 180,000 won... Didn't want to spend that kind of money so I am not sure if the service is good or not. If someone wants to take one for the team and write a review the best directions I can give are as follows:

If you are looking directly at the belle sign, turn 180 degrees and go across the street. You will have to explore the alley ways on the right or left hand side of the intersection. The alley ways run parallel to the direction you are looking (directly away from the belle sign). I don't remember exactly which one it was down. Sorry I can't provide better directions atm.

I found two more places and went into one of them. The first one I will mention may be a gem if the girls and service are good but I did not explore it myself today.

If you get off at yeoksam station, subway line #2. Exit #3. Walk strait down the hill. You will come to a small street, on one side you will see an IBK. On the other side you will see a FedEx. Turn left down this street. You will see a barber pole on the right hand side. Basement level 1 is the massage place.

This place is apparently 100,000 won. 1 hour. 10 minutes of full service toward the end. The downside is there is only 2 girls working and customers come and go at fairly regular intervals day and night. Thus, these girls are probably fairly used up. While I did not see them I suspect these are not the most attractive or young women but it is worth a shot for a brave adventurer. There was no wait when we checked it out but that was mid afternoon. They do accept foreigners and they do not charge us more.

Ok the last place I have to report is worth mention but I don't personally recommend it. If you get off at exit 3 yeoksam station but go past the small street I just mentioned. You will see a "Seven Springs" (buffet) right next to a small alley. Walk down this alley, you will see a motel on the left hand side. Keep going about 2/3rds or 3/4ths of the way down the alley on the right hand side there is a barber pole and "Millennium Massage" written on the sign in Hangul. This is also a basement level location. 70,000 won. 1 hour and 30 minutes. Massage & Hand job only. Foreigners accepted and not over charged. But here is the bad bit. There are 4 girls working there. All low quality. I mean one of them had a decent body but still an ugly face... Most of them were really quite ugly though. Personality wise they are quite friendly and the massage was really professional. It actually hurt but we both felt great after we left. The handjob was very skilled but I just couldn't get aroused for two reasons. 1) The girl was maybe a 6 at best (she was the best looking one). 2) None of the girls will take off any clothing, you can touch them a bit but they won't even take their tops off, no kissing, nothing (not that I would want to kiss them anyway, but it would be nice to see some decent breasts). So if you are looking for a good massage place I would recommend it but if you are looking for a happy ending I would suggest you look elsewhere.

Hope you all find this helpful. I hope someone can try some of these other places I have mentioned and report back to us. I will explore some more in the coming weeks and report my findings. I identified the sign in a parallell street of the main from the Gangnam road heading towards Belle and Cool. You leave Gangnam Station, Exit 5 and turn left at a bar/resto called "Kahunaville" and turn in the first street to the right. In the middle of the block you can see a sign with red letters on black ground as explained above. It is floors 5-8 if you enter. You found the "Skin Anma" I had referred to in an earlier post. (It says Skin in hangul as well but I guess not everyone on here knows how to read yet). Their normal rate is 180, 000 won but they rip foreign customers off for 250, 000 won which is why I have previously walked out of there without any service. Still your review sounds compelling if the girl was as attractive as you say she was it may be worth it.

On a side note my friend and I saw an extremely attractive looking girl the other day in Gangnam and we just had the instinct that she was a working girl. Shamelessly we approached her to find out what was going on. Apparently she works in an officetel setup with a number of other girls. We have to speak to her 'pimp' to make an arrangement but she said foreigners are welcome and the fee is between $80 and $120 for an hour. Full service but we have not yet found out what the difference in price range gets you. We'll most likely find out some afternoon next week. I'll post a review on how things turn out.

To find these places, you'll need to learn at least enough to read "An Ma" in Hangeul, which is pretty easy. I'd put the Hangeul here, but, for some reason this site has a bizarre rule against doing that. Basically, look for what looks like two letters (actually two syllables comprised of 3 letters and 2 letters, respectively). The first syllable will be comprised of a letter that looks like O in the top left (which is silent at the beginning of a syllable), the Korean letter for "ah" at the right which looks like a vertical line with a short stroke to the right in the middle.

One owner of the massage shops committed suicide because the police has kept busting them. And even other owners of the massage shops in Janandong area have had demonstration complaining of their being unfair.

On KBS news this morning they had a long story on a new police crackdown on anma's, barbershop's etc...on the sex being sold. There was even a picture of Cool in the story. Will be interesting. Regarding Yongsan- I haven't used for more then 18 months. More a turn down then a great place. The one or other exception excluded.

Regarding the 'hill' I am near and passing the area frequently, however due to the other none red light business which is already more then the shrinked redlight portion.
It wasn't attractive anyhow what was left and the left providers didn't have a glue how to gain and maintain customers. Rip offs all around. So no disadvantage if they close.
There are so many freebees (depend on definition, and the sucess depend on your assets and skills) in Itaewon who are looking for adventures that there will be no female shortage. And it is legal to score a 'freebee'.

Lets assume they clean up everything, which is operating in a dedicated building.
So what will happen?

What will all the girls do who finance their clothing and tutor fees etc.?
They (lets say by far most) are not really abused for what they are doing. They will be in need of money!
And the customers will be in need for the deed!
Prostitution will not be able to be wiped out, some sort will always exist.

I wonder if new forms emerge: How about private parties?
People (males and females) share party fee for goods. Male just bring the fee while the a perty organizer and females bring drinks, food etc. The females get compensation for the stuff they brought (some huge of course) from the party leader who is happy to get some help. Men and women enjoy the party and while enjoying also like to have sex. Just as it happens everywhere in the freebee area. The women don’t get any compensation for sex of course (as they enjoy it and all do it for fun!), they share a party fee and just get a compensation for the help to bring goods.
You ISG mongers figure what I want to create: A process the authorities can’t legally attack.

After a night drinking with friends, decided to go down to cool/belle for the first time. Unofortunately I arrived at around 5am and belle's doors were locked- may have been to late or may have been due to crackdown. Didn't try and get in to cool but the sign lights were off so assumed it would also be close.

So, I tried 1% massage, an anma place on the same street, but they quoted me 250,000 cash- and told me this was the foreigner price. Didn't really want to spend that much so passed.

Anyway, if you want to pay the premium then they will accept foreigners.

Not sure if cool/belle are shut due to crack down or because its chuseok, but either ways, I recommend caution for the time being.

Some of the men set fire to a car and two jumped off the bridge into Seoul's Han river, the country's national news agency Yonhap said on Thursday. No injuries were reported. The South Korean health ministry recently decided to grant licenses to sighted masseurs and masseuses to practice certain kinds of massages. Since 1963, the law allowed only blind people to practice the profession, Yonhap said. The protesters said the new policy puts their jobs at risk. There are about 15,000 licensed masseurs in the country, which has a blind population of 216,000. "Medical massage is almost the only profession that is open to the blind people. The ministry's decision is threatening our right to live," Shim Wook-seop, one of the protesting masseurs, was quoted as saying.

Another blind masseur, Dong Seong-geun, staged a lone protest in front of the Constitutional Court recently. "I have a wife and two children to support," he told the New York Times. "If I lose this job, I will have to beg on the streets. How can taking away one job from people who only have one compare with taking one job away from sighted people who have a hundred jobs to choose from?" The country's Constitutional Court is expected to rule soon on an appeal filed by several sighted people who argued that the profession cannot be the exclusive domain of the blind. The Massager Association of Korea, representing 120,000 unlicensed masseurs who are working openly and in defiance of the law, is leading the legal challenge. The association keeps a file of members accused of practicing without a license. Those people are usually fined between $450 to $4,500, although the law calls for up to three years in prison.

It has started on the "hill". Police went to the establishments in uniform and also with undercover police 5 times during the day after Chuseok. Will see what happens this weekend. Apparently the reason for the "hill" crackdown is due to the streets surrounding the mosque becoming "Little Nigeria". At all hours of the evening and night the Nigerians accost girls and women walking in the area even though they are not "working girls". Secondly, many of them are doing credit card scams (e.g, stolen) in the establishments causing more headaches for the police. One I know on the "hill" was away visiting home in the countryside and the girls working her bar allowed a Nigerian to use a credit card to get cash from the bar. It turned out stolen and her bar is out many $$. A few Nigerian restaurants opened near the mosque and turing a corner going to the "hill" was packed with roaming Nigerians near those restaurants. Was in Seoul for the first time this weekend. Went to an area called Gangnam? Was there for a party for someone at a club called Big Rock. First of all, this place was rockin with tons of hot chicks. My boys and I ended up drinking too much, and needed a place to stay so we got rooms at a place next to Jelly Motel. The room was 55$ USD. In the room was a card with a hot girl on it and a phone number. I was tempted to call the number, but it was 230am and I was drunk and tired.

Nothing. I even saw some girls moving out, pulling their suitcases behind them. There were plainclothes policmen just walking back and forth through all the alleys.

Today I walked through the Yongsan RLD again at noon today and saw about six shops open on the main strip and four open on the strip closest to Shinyongsan station. I asked one of the girls whether the police were still patrolling. She said, "Yeah, but don't worry about it. " The girls working there don't seem to be too worried about it.

Ever since the Korean government gave into pressure from the American government in 2004, and pushed through anti-prostitution laws, things have been going downhill. For evidence of this, just look at the slow down of posts here. And even worse, is the photo forum. There haven't been any posts since June. Personally, I think you're better off spending some of your mongering funds to take a short trip to Thailand or the Philippines, where there are plenty of opportunities. Suwon isn't in Seoul, but you can access it via the subway. As far as mongering goes it's worth the trip. Just find Suwon on the subway map and head on out. Getting to the RLD isn't all that hard either.

Get off the subway and go out the front station. You'll see a crosswalk that runs over the street. Go across the street away from the station and follow the main road off to the left. You'll pass a very noticable strip mall, some shops etc..

A couple blocks down you'll see the ladies at work. Most of the prime workers tend to work on the main alley. They'll turn foreigners down flat, but if you get into the back alleys you can find ladies willing to provide for non Koreans.

Don't be afraid to bargain and you'll be surprised what you'll have to spend. Last year I spent 90,000 won in one night for 3 full services. These are all quickie shops, but I've heard of people staying the night by renting out the bed to sleep in because they were to drunk to be bothered with going home.

Quality ranges on the ladies. I've found some very nice girls that I've paid roughly 40,000 for to some down right broken down nags that I paid 30,000 for a quickie.

I've seen the police patrolling the area, but from what I understand, this was last year by the way, the police are cracking down more on areas that are near US military facilities or directly in Seoul.

Checked out Yongjugol just north of Seoul near Paju. Not really Seoul, but if you want to do some mongering nearby the pink light district is well busy and thriving there. To add some better news to all the bad ones: Yesterday I was on a typical Friday holiday night out in Itaewon (no mongering in mind, as in Itaewon I am using freebee source). But I also passed the hill and surrounding area, and to my surprise all girlie shops have been in full operation as usual. Not at all a sign of a crackdown. I live about 15 minutes away and often include Mia ri in my evening/night walk. Recently I haven't seen much going on there. Out of the 50-75 or so shops (which were all open when I moved here over ten years ago), I have noticed activity in only one or two recently, though there may be more. There's a huge crackdown in many places now and it’s affecting Donduchon too. The RLDs are basically closed, Massage and Barber shops are available but you will not find any young hot girls in these places. The last time I visited an Anma in Donduchon they had the door closed and only open it when they saw who we were (was with a Korean friend) but closed it after we entered. Most of the bars outside the military bases are now serviced by Filipinas. The US military base in Dongducheon is Camp Casey. It has a GI bar district near the main gate (across the street and over the railroad tracks) which has many Filipinas working there. They are forced by the bars to push for the juicy drinks, and try to get as many as they can from the guys going there. As Run Mann mentioned, you will probably have to buy a lot of drinks, and then pay a bar fine of $200 to $300 if you want to take a girl to the room with you. It could be more than that, since I haven't been there for a long time.

There is also Camp Hovey on the back side of Casey. I think the name of the ville outside it's gate is Tokarie (not sure). I never tried it, but I always heard that it was more wild than Dongducheon. They are taking the signs off the main street that say "Massage" in any language, but keeping their signs on the side streets so that they are less noticable. This makes the places harder to find, but maybe they'll last longer.

Also, I know I've written this before, but it bears repeating: some full service places call themselves "namja hyugashil" (Gentlemen's Leisure Room) "sports massage", or "stress clinic", which is something to watch for. (The one in front of Yongsan Station, for example, calls itself a "glamour clinic", but it's the same full service as an anmajang, but for W100, 000. You just need to make a reservation.)

I don't know if this will work for everyone, but what I did to solve the police problem was to phone a certain provider and have her meet me in a hotel. It was a provider I had used before. We rented a small motel for 30, 000 won and had ST. She asked me to come by the club, but I told her if she wanted to meet me it had to be somewhere else and she responded. She also brought her sister (who she said was her twin, but turned out was not).

My suggestion would be to get the number from a provider who you enjoy and lay low for a while until this police thing blows over. Many of us have too much to lose if we get caught in one of the establishments.

I had dinner in Yongsan and decided to stop by and have a look on my way back to my hotel. Nearly all the places on the "A" row were open and most of the ones on the "B" row too. Business was brisk, maybe as a result of crackdowns in other areas.

IMHO, 90% of the girls in the "B" rows are not doable. In fact, I bumped into another foreign punter and we walked around wondering if anybody actually does some of the really old ones. For a change, one of the girls on the "A" row offered, but insisted on a CBJ so I passed.

However Yesterday Saturday night, passed the hill (not on mongering mission) and saw the hill in normal operation. The providers may be more selective how they approach customers, but it doesn't affect none Asians. Better: the none Asians are way less suspicious to be an undercover agent.

Still the safest way is to score with 'freebees'. Plenty around, but you need to turn your charm out and score and your efforts can end in hit or miss with somehow bad to predict. I wrote about this earlier.

I was in several normal clubs in Itaewon yesterday and also in JJ's (Disco in Hyatt hotel). JJ's has more female then male guests around (60:40?). Mostly two girls join, but also some single. They are open minded at least to talk almost to everybody and get to know new people and if you have remained some general attitude and are not too pushy in the beginning you may score.

Again: it’s rather unpredictable and your approaching efforts of some hours can evaporate later and you may feel wasted time. But that’s life to be accepted. You may also score from time to time. Remember: Half the fun is the hunt.

Strategy in JJ's is to try to change locations as soon as females feels more comfortable due to the high drink prices. A few drinks invested in a girl (mostly its in 2 girls to serve) easy exceed the cost of a 1/2 h fuck at the hill easily with a none predictable outcome.

The spokesman said closed-circuit televisions installed by bar owners on street corners throughout Hooker Hill, an area famed for its prostitution, made it difficult to catch sex offenders. "They can watch us, and all of our movements and steps in advance before we start patrolling the area," he said. Hooker Hill is near U.S. Army Garrison-Yongsan, and most of the clubs are off-limits to U.S. troops.

The South Korean media reported that two 46-year-old South Korean women were sentenced to eight months in prison on Tuesday, the first to be sentenced as part of the crackdown, which began in July and runs through the end of the month. One of the women owned an illegal massage parlor in Dongdaemun, outside the U.S. military’s Camp Red Cloud. She was fined 100 million won, approximately $80,800, for unlawful profits she earned through running the business and acting as a prostitute.

She earned about 20,000,000 won, or $16,000, each month and had five to six customers a day in the past nine months, according to South Korean media reports. The other woman, an employee, was sentenced to 120 hours of social work. Their sentences were suspended for three years. Court officials were unavailable for comment Wednesday.

Yeah! I thought it would be this type of source. There was a well-publicized case of a foreign professor who got caught in the initial crackdown some years ago was quickly sent packing, too bad he didn't get to go to John school. Also saw a recent story where a soldier who had been in country for only a week was fined a million won for patronizing a hooker/establishment.

This routine of penalties probably only applies to Koreans. Those of other national and ethnic origins should really be careful. Deportation and imprisonment have never been beyond the Korean government in cases of foreigners prosecuted for an offense (I specifically avoided saying "foreigners committing an offense," because there have been instances of wrongful prosecution in the past).

I've heard about the various red light district crackdowns in Seoul recently, but be advised that 588 (Chongyangni) is as strong as I've seen it in years (maybe all the girls from the closed districts going there?).

It's right on my way to Homeplus, so I walk through it once a week or so. Busiest I've seen it in months right now. I guess the local police didn't get the crackdown memo from the Seoul police chief, hehe (or maybe because they get freebies plus a cut of the profits?)!

Don't knock the barber shop poles. I have found some nice stuff in there. You just have to be specific and firm. Tell Ahjuma you want young and tight. (you have to speak hangul for this) and also be firm on the price. No more than 80K won. If you are not happy, then ask for your money back and leave. Any hints?I'm in the same boat. I usually visit Seoul 2-3 times a year. Always stay at the Grand Hyatt - so JJ's is right there. It's difficult in there, esp if you are solo, as the girls are always in groups of 2,3, or more. And yeah I don't even try fof the stunners (and there are many there on Fri/Sat nights). I've gotten a few dates out of there by setting my sights alittle lower.

And also had much better luck when Im there with some of the Korean guys i work with. They take delight in trying to get girls to come over and talk to me!! Hey, whatever works.

Brain666Night Clubs (booking) are plentyful in Seoul. The one I have been to the most is Heracles in Sincheon close to Gangnam. Not Sinchon close to Yonsei University, easy to confuse. You should have some conversational skills in Korean if you plan to meet girls at booking clubs, otherwise it will be very hard, sometimes they don't even let groups of foreigners in at all and they always check if I can speak Korean when I go to a booking club, I'm a white guy.

You should be at least 2-3 guys and in the club you can get either a table with drinks and snacks or even better a private room with karaoke, drinks and snacks. As long as you still have drinks the waiters will bring you girls, usually the girls want to look around as well so try to get to know her a little and get the numbers from all the girls you meet and call them later on. This is what I have done, some girls of course I never see again but I have met quite a few and went all the way. If you tip the waiters they will make extra effort to bring you the hot girls, it can be worth it.

Price is about 50. 000won and up per person if you order a table and of course a room would be more expensive but you would get more girls and can more easily get intimate with them already in the club. Some clubs have women in 30's and 40's but this one (Heracles) is mainly young university students. All girls I met was 19-23 years old. Only one of them could speak English, so Korean language is the key.

How to find Night Clubs? You will be hunted down by bouncers on the street as soon as you approach the area. There are also many Night Clubs in the Jongno-2ga area but I haven't been there much.

There are many clubs but an easy to find one is Mool, it just south of the river over the Hannam bridge.

You should go with some Korean friends, if you go with a group of non-korean friends and can convince them to let you in the club then you will get few if any bookings.

Spend the money and get a room. Women do not want to be seen sitting with a white man in the public area, it will hurt their ability to meet other men. Not fair but that is the way it is.

In the room you need to order some whiskey and side dishes. Tell you waiter what kind of women you like and if you do not want to meet a pro tell them not bring any working girls.... but if you want you can tell them to bring you working girls.

Sit in a position so that you can not been seen from the door. If the woman sees you first she may run. Once she sees speak immediately in Korean, they do not want the stress of an English test, they our out for fun. Once she sits down offer her a drink and introduce yourself. If after five minutes you like her ask her for her phone number. It is unlikely you will score on the first night. Most of the women walk around with their phones in their hands this so they can get the numbers of men they are interested in.

If you have a woman hanging around near the end of the evening invite her and her friends to go to a po-chang-ma-ja or a late night restaurant. She will be more inclined to go if she is with her friends and their is an matched number in your group and hers.

I have now visited Itaewon 3 times and the glass house RLDS in Yong-san twice and Oh Pal Pal once. I have to say that all my good experiences have come from Itaewon.

Five post since you joined in 2004 all asking for help and telling us how you want to avoid being caught by the military. Let’s hope your next post is an actual field report minus questions. You should talk to your fellow military brothers, they can tell you where to go but as far as RLDs, Miari would probably be the safest because of its proximity to the military base. Just about all these places are off limits to the military since patronizing a prostitute is now a crime so take your pick but I have never seen a military patrol in any RLD in all my years here. You should be more aware of the KNP who can stop you and turn you over to the military and they do have a presence in the RLDs.

All the RLD's I've seen in Korea have been sort of ghetto-ish. Perhaps the more experienced guys on the forum have seen a nice one, but I haven't yet.

Since you are relatively unfamiliar with Seoul, you actually might want to stick to someplace like Itaewon (different from the Yongsan RLD, which is located by Yongsan Station). Several reasons for this:

1. Local cops: As far as getting busted goes, the biggest threat is from the local cops doing one of their periodic "crackdowns, " which happens every couple of years when some politician gets a bug up his ass, someone misses a bribe payment, or someone highlights the existence of Korean RLD's in the media. In the Itaewon RLD, nearly all the shops have CCTV cameras so the girls can watch for potential clients, but they also use them to watch for the cops (I think there's a previous post about this). If the mamasans see the cops coming, they can just lock the door or shuttle a client into a private back room until the coast is clear. BTW, I don't ever remember seeing any of the CCTV's hooked up to VCRs, but to be honest I haven't always thought to look.

By the way, most of the RLD's I've seen in Korea are located right next to a police substation that you almost have to walk by (usually with a sign in Hangul saying you have to be a certain age to walk down that particular alley). It's Korea's way of keeping the glass house businesses regulated by confining them to certain areas out of the public eye.
