Generally, no, although, as noted in the original quote, you may find a few early birds ~ 5PM or a few lingerers after 7 until 8-9 am. The chances of that are greater the later in the week it is and on weekends. A couple of possibilities are "ABC" and "Bridge" (near the top on the left) and Moonshine (about half way up on the right)(see map in ROD section). It's a real crap shoot, though, and may not be worth the time and effort you have to make to get there. Better daytime options are the hotel sauna tub 'n tugs and the foreigner friendly anmas in Gangnam (e.g., "Call" - RTF)

First of all, Miari doesn't offer shows anymore (to my knowledge), and average price is 60-70+

Secondly, Anmas range from 120-170+ for Koreans, and 170-250+ for non-Asians (this always pisses me off-even for the very few that accept non-Asians).

Thirdly, RLD (Yongsan, Cheongnangi) range from 60+ for Koreans, to 100+ for non-Asians (you can sometimes work it down if business is slow, no Korean men are around, and you can speak Korean).

Start out at Jongno sam-ga station, exit 5. You'll notice the main road is completely under construction. Anyway, walk straight ahead until you get to Darak-gil street, then make a left. Start walking down this alleyway and you will see all the love motels and cards on the ground with asian porn stars. Keep walking and you will soon see bars with funny names, for example, banga banga, papas, etc. Keep walking some more and you will spot more bars, named Kooss men club, man in bar, and so on. As I said, I've never been in any of these places, I just walked by them, so I have no idea what they are.

On a side note, I got some hostile stares from a lot of the ajossis as I was walking around this area, so I'm not sure how foreigner friendly it is, if at all. You did nothing for which you need apologize.

As an apparent newbie to Korea, you clearly indicated that you were probably lucky in getting accepted into an anma that is not on the short list of foreigner-friendly ones; anybody who took real umbrage at your apparent tongue-in-cheek remark about complainers needs to see one of the local plastic surgeons about having their epidermis thickened.

You're the only judge of that, really; if you left satisfied, you didn't overpay; you got the benefit of the bargain you made. Get off at Nambu Terminal station exit 6. Walk straight until you see the BC card building. Before you pass it take a hard right and then another hard right. Remember TWO turns! I took the subway down to the Cheongnyangni zone for a first time stroll (line 1 east side of downtown). It was a pretty cold and windy night so my intention was not to really stay for long or do much more than kill an hour for a walk.

It must have been quite a place in its heyday. I'm guessing more than half of the "aquariums" looked out of service though I'm guessing 10pm is still pretty early for the area. from my limited information, they are in effect "hostess bars", where the attractive female bartenders basically keep you company. I met a friend for drinks in one of these in my town. The bar was quite nice, the drinks quite expensive.

it's not pay for play, they cannot leave the premises. For those who are interested in checking out Mairi it looks like it could be an interesting place and it seems a bit different from the other RLD's though I'm a newbie in ROK to say the least. Tried Cool today. The manager looked to me like the same guy from my last visit one year ago, but he confirmed that they no longer accept foreigners, or at least non-asian. Gyopos and japanese are probably OK though. The place seems very busy, a group of young Koreans was coming in when I left, so I guess they can do without waegook income.

So I went to Belle instead. For those who don't know, you can reach these places by Taxi going to "Bangbang sageori" or from Yangjae station exit 3: go straight north downhill on the large road, then turn left after 5 min walk, at the Prudential tower. Cool is about a hundred meters up on the left, Belle is just a bit after on the right side of the road.

Price at Belle is 70k, the service is a body licking, short BBBJ and then HJ finish by a cute young korean girl wearing only panties. Lots of touching and cuddling involved. My only close Korean friend of 8 years (met back home first before coming to Korea) convinced me to go to a 20’s only booking club in his hometown (1 hour from Seoul). VIP room was 250,000won total (included 5 beer, 1 bottle whiskey, and Korean snacks), almost half price of Seoul booking clubs.

Started at Western bar (had no people AT ALL), and got digits from the bartender who spoke fluent English, with by far, the most enjoyable conversation I have had with a Korean woman (especially of such beauty). My Korean friend also liked her and I could sense that he was going to make a play as well (got owner’s business card so that he could call her later).

This set the pace for the evening. He promised me no-one else would come, since I stressed the importance that the waiter would only usually pull 2 girls at a time to our room, and it is harder to close the deal (and separate) with more people. I drilled our strategy over and over. I even set up and paid for joining Penthouse rooms in nearby hotel by booking club. Lo and behold, his high school Korean-American buddy was waiting at the door when we arrived (baseball cap and all). To make matters worse, the bouncers stated that “no foreigners” were allowed. Of course, my K friend had assured me that this policy was not in effect before I even considered going. Finally, after many years of wanting to fulfill my curiousity, I attended a Korean booking club. Here’s the play by play, and I hope to gain some insight and objective analysis by you Expats in Korea (for some peace of mind):

My only close Korean friend of 8 years (met back home first before coming to Korea) convinced me to go to a 20’s only booking club in his hometown (1 hour from Seoul). VIP room was 250,000won total (included 5 beer, 1 bottle whiskey, and Korean snacks), almost half price of Seoul booking clubs.

Started at Western bar (had no people AT ALL), and got digits from the bartender who spoke fluent English, with by far, the most enjoyable conversation I have had with a Korean woman (especially of such beauty). My Korean friend also liked her and I could sense that he was going to make a play as well (got owner’s business card so that he could call her later).

This set the pace for the evening. He promised me no-one else would come, since I stressed the importance that the waiter would only usually pull 2 girls at a time to our room, and it is harder to close the deal (and separate) with more people. I drilled our strategy over and over. I even set up and paid for joining Penthouse rooms in nearby hotel by booking club. Lo and behold, his high school Korean-American buddy was waiting at the door when we arrived (baseball cap and all). To make matters worse, the bouncers stated that “no foreigners” were allowed. Of course, my K friend had assured me that this policy was not in effect before I even considered going. Well I’m sure they know as they have modified their web site and are no longer aggressively advertising on CL. Not sure what you mean by strict procedure but anyone using any escort agency or sex provider (shops) in Korea should use caution to protect themselves and not depend on any agency to protect them. There's a long list of customers who have been busted because they were careless in using escort agencies/MPs. This bust reads like a repeat of the sex crackdown of a few years ago when the cops used the shop's (they busted) records containing customer’s name/phone/credit card numbers to make arrest and prosecute people after the act.

After my excursion in the back alleys of Soellung Station and a little R&R at "Call", I headed over to the Renaissance to recon for the much talked about Baek Sung.

For those comng from further afield, and automotively-challenged, your best bets are either Seollung Station or Yeoksam Station on the subway. From Seollung, leave by the most northwesterly exit (sorry, don't know the exit #, but you want a little challenge don; t you? ), and proceed west along the northside of the big boulevard, Teheran-no, a few blocks until you reach the Renaissance Hotel. As I said it's about a ten minute walk, and the Hotel can't be missed.

For those getting off at Yeoksam, do the reverse: exit at the most northeasterly access stairway and walk due east along the northside of Teheran-no until you reach the hotel. It's probably a little closer to Yeosam than Seollung.

When you get to the Hotel go to the side street running north along its west side. For those who are directionally-challenged, look for the Buy the Way convenience store that is on te corner of the side street and Teheran-no.

The usual suspects are all located on the three alleys that run west (left) and generally uphill off the side street. There are at least a dozen or more establishments, and they are that: most are 5-6 story buildings of substantial size.

According to a previous poster, the renowned Baek Sung is on the second alley about a third to halfway up in a Mediterranean-style building. I didn't see anything I would describe as Mediterranean, but there was a building in a sort of pastiche of late Renaissance-eraly Baroque style, with vestigial ironwork balconies tacked onto the windows on the front facade, in the indicated location. If it is indeed the former Baek Song, it's now called Myeong Ka, but the sign (over the door) is in Hangul. The other principal visual features are the main entrance at the lower right hand corner of the building, flanked on the left side by 2 or 3 narrow display windows behind which are mannequins decked out in elaborate feathered gowns, nest to which is the car park with the famous Korean "modesty curtains".I was in Seoul ten days ago and had done my research on the Forum. I really wanted to try an anma; anyone can arrange an in-call in any major city in the world. A major goal of international mongering is the local experience. Thanks to the Forum, I took away the lesson of "go early", and go to a foreigner-friendly venue. The best bet seemed to be down by the Renaissance, lots of options, especially as the directions were so clear.

I tried the first side street and saw northing that looked like massage, though there were some clubs. The third side street had dozen of clubs, but nothing that looked like an anma massage. The middle street had three, right in a row, on the north side. The first one, Queen, told me at 1130 to come back in two hours. At 1300 I returned to Queen, was welcomed, paid Won 200, 000, and was taken upstairs by the papasan, a young chap with some English. He took me to the room, perhaps 3X4 meters, which had a bathroom area carved out of one corner, clear glass walls, shower, sink, and toilet. I had drawn "Jenny", a very petite woman aged about 30, cute enough, but not beautiful. If you go out the front of the Hilton there is a road directly ahead that runs straight away from the Hilton. That is the Namsan (South Mountain) ring road. You follow it about 2 klicks and 3-4 traffic lights to an intersection in front of the Hyatt off to the right a little ways. Turn right and go toward the Hyatt (passing another street on the right that heads downhill) - about 50 yards. Do not enter the Hyatt driveway but turn right again. The road meanders down from Namsan to Itaewon high street - about 1.5 klicks - and becomes "Hooker Hill" as it goes back up after the intersection. There is a fire station on the southeast corner and a Dunkin Donuts just in from the southwest corner of the intersection at the entrance to the Hill. Asking a taxi driver to take you to the Itaewon fire station ["Itaewon seobiso"] would be your easiest option.

Hooker Hill proper is the alley/street that runs uphill to left the first block after the intersection but, as you can see from the map, there also are various options on the larger uphill street. You can check the Reports of Distinction or browse through the regular posts for recommendations and comments on venues/providers. Best bets on the main street IMO are Peach Phuzz (Soo-Ae), Nymph (Yumi and staff - although Yumi is a little long in the tooth (but kinky as all get out), Moulin Rouge (Nana, not until after 9 at the earliest) and Cabin (Mina - weekends only and get her alone NOT doubled with the cougar who's also there and will try to play pilot fish); and Mississippi (Yuna) and Happy Days (Cindy) on Hooker Hill proper. Soo-Ae, Nana and Mina are relatively expensive (if you want a believable simulacram of a real GFE or PSE) but IMO much more than worth the extra freight charge, which in the first two cases especially will get you very good treatment (unless you're a haggling bottom-fisher). Nothing to say about CL pros, other than proceed with caution. If you feel more comfortable with hotel in-call (ambiance sure beats that of the typical "club") an option is to go "eye-shopping" (the Konglish term) on the Hill and take one back. Most Hill SPs will go out to hotels, even for (relatively) "short-time" for no extra charge, but note that in that case short time will mean at least an hour with corresponding fees (to my knowledge what many people report here about supposedly fairer, i.e. cheaper, prices means they are running the hare's race in 30 or even 20 minutes or less.)
