Not sure what is there, though, but the guesthouses are good value for a night-time layover
Into Seoul itself - take an express bus to Kangnam City Air Terminal (1hr-ish ride). It is at Samseong subway station Line #2 (Green line), close to the Anmas at Seolleung and Yeoksam stations, 1/2 stops away on the subway. You can get directions / names of places around these stations especially from other forum posts (not an expert here), but lack of Korean may be a problem. Barbershops (with the multiple spinning poles) are also around.

Well thanks to the good directions I got to take a taste of Cheonho.

PS - invitations to monger together is still openI am in Incheon (close to Bupyong) several times a year for about a month each time. I have been to Yongsan and 588 to sample the goods, but never tried it out in Incheon. I know there is a RLD close to Ganseogogeori subway station (Incheon line). I went there this spring around 4-5 pm, but everything was closed. I don't know if that's the case or if I was too early. If I remember correctly it was exit 5, but not sure about this. i forgot to post my experience in oct 09 when i was in seoul.

The Hill SPs generally avoid Koreans because: (i) some of them work on the hill instead of other venues in order to avoid the possibility of six degrees of separation working to reveal their occupation to friends and family, and/or (ii) they don't like the attitude and behavior of Korean players.
They are generally more accommodating of others, including especially Japanese. As a JA, you are potentially the best of both worlds in their eyes.
Young-Eun @ Y.E. Lotus doesn't usually play much herself anymore, but has a lot of Japanese trade to which she and her girls are very welcoming. The usual suspects are all located on the three alleys that run west (left) and generally uphill off the side street. There are at least a dozen or more establishments, and they are that: most are 5-6 story buildings of substantial size.
According to a previous poster, the renowned Baek Sung is on the second alley about a third to halfway up in a Mediterranean-style building. I didn't see anything I would describe as Mediterranean, but there was a building in a sort of pastiche of late Renaissance-eraly Baroque style, with vestigial ironwork balconies tacked onto the windows on the front facade, in the indicated location. If it is indeed the former Baek Song, it's now called Myeong Ka, but the sign (over the door) is in Hangul. The other principal visual features are the main entrance at the lower right hand corner of the building, flanked on the left side by 2 or 3 narrow display windows behind which are mannequins decked out in elaborate feathered gowns, nest to which is the car park with the famous Korean "modesty curtains".

Most places open ~8PM and remain open until 5/6AM the next morning. There are places that open earlier (generally of poorer quality) and later (closer to 9). Many places also stay open later in the morning the later in the week it is, with the latest closing times being on Saturday and Sunday mornings (~7/8). Many places close Sunday evenings early - 1/2.

They assaulted me first by pushing me and fight went on fire between their group and my group.
We all got taken to police station and got interrogated.
All done, no settlement and ETC. Now, I'm back to state.
I got a call from friend in Korea, that one of the Korean man's jaw is shattered and all his jaw ligament has been cut as well as his nose is broken. They are asking for 5k cash to just settle when their hospital fee will be coming out between 20k-30k.
They are threatening us that they will sue us if we don't settle.
I just told my friend to tell those guys that our bill will come out 20-30k easy if we start go to hospital in state.
I have a two concern.
One is that what can happen to my friend living in Korea who has Korean citizenship? He was mainly trying to stop the fight and that is in police report.
Two is what happens if they really sue us?
We had 3 guys and they had 4 guys. But 2 of them ran away when police arrived. Even when we told the police that they had 2 more guys, they would not belive us and not even put that on report. We also have one Korean citizenship girl who is a "victim" of this incident, who got cut by their broken bottle and had 5 stitches on her arm.
If you know any international law or even a law in Korea, help will be greatly appreciated. I might have to talk to them very soon.

A story similar to yours from about 6 years back, 2 Canadians out and about in Shinchon got jumped by three or four Koreans guys, but the Canadians defended themselves well and shattered one guy's jaw. Happens all the time. Really what your friend needs to be concerned about is his ability to "lets make a deal".

TPI recently went to Sinchon (around Yonsei University) and found that there is a street among the regular bar streets that has 3 Kiss Rooms pretty much next to each other. I think as soon as I get an iPhone in Korea, I'll start creating a custom Google Map. I sold my iPhone before I came to Korea and I'm just using a normal flip phone these days. I don't know how people do it. I feel so lost and unproductive without a smartphone. But I think the only redeeming quality is watching TV on my phone (love the Starcraft games).
To answer your question, I think the lure of finding a Kiss Bang or Dae Dal Bang is that it is a completely unique experience. Happened to be transiting the Hill for recon last Friday while enroute elsewhere. -Go to Yangjae Station
-Walk straight out of Exit 3.

I hear you, but I find niggling over price queers the experience (and if the girl does it by asking a ridiculous amount and not immediately accepting a market price counter, I just walk); so my strategy is to give them what or close to what they ask, while letting them know politely I expect them to perform. Sigh, sometimes I truly envy the Korean dudes who have easy access to unlimited resources. Which is fairly ironic, since Korean "friends" often complain to me that Western guys can easily get Korean girls (which is often far from the truth). After lurking on this board for months, I finally took my first trip into the Korean p4p scene. I usually just wait for my regular trip to Thailand, but I couldn't wait that long so I decided to check the scene out.
