I work a little far from the area, but it just so happens that I had business around there and decided to check things out for myself. I went at night time around 10PM. A post several pages back talked about the body rub place at the Seohyeon metro stop so I was in the mood and thought I'd try it out. The directions were spot on. Take the number 2 exit and it's right across the street on the 3rd floor. The previous poster had mentioned the price at 99, 000KW. The price that was quoted me was 89, 000KW. the posts i read always caution that the police will look for any reason to arrest a non-korean if they are caught in these areas. after all, you are exposing what koreans prefer to keep secret. this is another uncomfortable truth of korea, there are a host of common outlets for korean prostitutes that non-koreans are not supposed to know about. i have never had anything but positive experiences with the korean police since these are coveted jobs for those who do it professionally and the rest are just mandatory service conscripts dressed in police uniforms. they are just poor kids serving as guards and they do not pro-actively enforce laws. i noticed that a couple times i did get more attention from a passing police car in such areas but i just acted like i was cutting through the area on my way to somewhere else, not looking at the girls, and they passed me by.

i am attaching a pdf map and directions for your reference. cheongnyangni 588 ("oh pal pal") is perhaps the most well known of the glass house districts in seoul. located on line 1 (or a little less conveniently via line 4) .588 is located next to the lotte department store in cheongnyangni and it is actually a decent sized mixed-use neighborhood mixed in the glass fronts. some of these are open in the day but generally the lights generally only come on at dusk. there are a good number of eating establishments and food markets right outside the zone so it could also make for a good social studies / window shopping walk about if you aren't wanting to take the plunge right then. like the others, there is a main concentration and then a few more rep001tered close but outside the lines on the map. as you can see by the map, this is a large area and likely over 50 store fronts in the lined area to choose from. if you look korean.
if you are not asian and still want to absolutely guarantee a successful outing, your 588 options are dramatically curtailed. but viable. looking at the outline, you and see the little panhandle sticking up behind the big lotte department store and mall (another decent option for a walk about until 8 pm). if you get out at exit 5 of line 1, you just follow the traffic around the side of the department store where there is an above ground parking garage (convenient if you just want to drive there). walking to the end of that street with the lotte on your left and the parking lot on your right, you'll start to see a couple of elderly adjumas and they will also see you. by the time you get to where they are sitting, they'll already be vying for your attention, some more aggressively than others. don't worry, they are not the talent.
they usually have rudimentary english and will guide you down the alley behind lotte instead of towards the main 588 area. in that alley there are about 7-10 more traditional looking shops that are not lit up. the adjuma will guide you in and you usually have the choice of 2 or more korean women. these are definitely not the pick of the litter, but beggars can't be choosers here and these women are certainly passable. even downright sexy if you precede your visit with a pitcher or two. here is where your korean language skills will be put to the test. but hopefully, with these instructions, you should be able to bluff your way through the process.
you want to make sure to pick your girl very clearly by nodding and gesturing to the one you want until there is a clear understanding visible. you also should not be shy, take your time and make sure you look around slowly since sometimes one or more of the girls could be in the back cleaning the room and you end up passing them by. the same adjuma will likely guide you to the not classy, but passable room and will take your money. in some other places, it might be the adjuma works off of tips but, in those cases, she will usually ask for the tip before you go in the back. these westerner accessible places are also generally not 70k won but 50k won since i guess these women are "giant cock tainted" but the whole seamier-seamier side of this can also mean that the adjumas might negotiate a higher price and get to keep the change. as long as it is not above 70k won, you can feel you aren't being too ripped off.

I'm not knocking your report at all, so don't take it personally, I'm all for sharing information such as that. I'm just pointing out that as you said. Doing a cost / benefit analysis points me in other directions.

SGI haven't had any bad experieces in anmas, or room salons for that matter (I speak reasonably good Korean) , I've just had much better ones with a select number of girls over the years on the Hill with whom I've been able to develop "relationships" (rolls eyes) that, in crude terms, translates into more bang for the buck and generally more satisfying sessions.
There is no such thing as a "should pay" price, except 0 of course.

Today my Korean friend took me to one room club in Seolleung area. To say short, it is awesome and worth your money.
You are shown several girls to choose from, if you don't like, you can ask to see more. I got about 10 girls to choose in first round and was still curious to see more, but for second round just three new. Went for one out of first ten. I cannot say that all girls were great by looks, but 3–4 were. Better to go early, selection is better.

Ok, I think I've given up on these phone rooms. I just got ripped off and feeling really regretful that I even tried this route. So the idea behind these places is that you ask to use a phone room. It's usually 15, 000won for the hour. These places are usually labeled as adult PC rooms or phone rooms. If you just want the adult pc room then it's a closed room with computer that has a shit ton of porn. If you choose the phone room there's obviously an extra phone in the room and it might be a few dollars more. I thought it was going to be just a massage place but it turned out to be an ANMA. Once I walked into the room and the rubber soapy bed, I thought it would be out of my budget.

I managed to contact Tiffany and to my surprise she responded within a few hours and said she was available later that day. Checked out A-1 last night around 9pm.
What a nice place; friendly staff and even friendlier provider. Walked through the doors, greeted by an ajima who asked what the kind of service I wanted. Her English was decent and she explained the 2 different types of massages; 1 costs 75, 000 and the other 200, 000W. The difference between the 2 is that the 200, 000 is FS and she happily went into details (BJ, HJ, ar, etc). I paid upfront (BTW the exchange rate is awesome right now so it came out to be well under 200 USD). She led me to a changing area, provided me slippers and custom printed A-1 shorts and t-shirts (I'm part of the team now.). Stopped by the pisser, took a leak and was then escorted through a maze (literally) of hallways and trap doors (like scooby-doo) till I finally came to my room. She told me to have a seat on the bed and to wait for the girl. The room was very nice, full size bed (with nice linens) full size ceiling mirror, shower / bathroom and bath table (the works). Waited for 5 mins or so then the provider comes and knocks on the door. I heard her like a mile away from the sound of her annoying heels clunking around. She walks in body:7 face:6 personality: 8. She enters the room, gives me a hug tells me to undress and then leads me to the bath table. Hooks me up with a soapy massage and plays w / mr hanky, gets me worked up then washed me down. Gave me a toothbrush and a towel. She led me to the bed, dried me off then proceeded w / bbj, ar, cat bath then FS. I finished after 3 or 4 different positions and she washed mr hanky, led me to the shower area, washed me again, dried me off and lit a cigarette. I don't smoke, so she offered some ginseng soda which I gladly accepted. We hung out for a while talking about how shitty Iteawon is and discussed other places like Hongdae and Gangnam. She was in her mid 20s and enjoys the club scene. I got bored and began dressing, she got on the phone and 3 mins later the ajima knocked on the door and led me back to a massage area.
The massage I received from this plump ajima was freakin fantastic; seriously one of the best massages outside of Thailand. Very impressive and detail oriented. 30 mins or so later I was led by her to my chaining room and then was greeted again at the door by the ajima who thanked me and told me to have a great night.
All in all, I'd rate the quality of service (from staff and provider) around an 8. They are foreigner friendly and the prices are spot on. I'd recommend this place and will be happy to return.

This is my first trip to South Korea and I was stuck here over the weekend without a clue where to go. Thanks to Austin a dull Saturday afternoon became very enjoyable.
I arrived at A1 around 2pm and the place seemed very quiet. The ajima at reception was very welcoming and helpful. I paid 200, 000W for the special massage and was taken to the changing room. The grey cotton baggy shorts and T-shirt are a good fit for westerner. Unlike the tiny paper shorts that I usually get in China!
Then the ajima took me to the Thai massage room. The lady that gave me the massage was old and built on the lines of a Russian shot put champion! All the way through I was praying that this would not be the special SP. The massage was good, but a little short. Maybe only 20 minutes.
Then the ajima returned and lead me through the corridors and secret doors to the special massage room. I must agree with Austin here, the place is very clean and tidy. All the bedding and towels are clean and smell fresh. A few minutes wait and the SP arrived. A very attractive, petite Korean girl in her mid 20's. Around a 7 for looks, but a little on the thin side for me. We both undressed and then she took me into the shower room, to the shower bed. This was the first time I had experienced this. Very nice! I got on the bed face down and she started by soaping me down and then, after applying a very sticky gel proceeded with a BS. A complete wash down and then turn over for the same again including a very though wash for the old man. During this she applied a cleaning gel which was extremely tingly and had a strong cooling effect! The effects didn't last too long however and by the time of the dry off and tooth brush things were back to normal!
She then lead me back the the large massage bed and started with BBBJ, BL, AR. She put the cover on by using her mouth and then continued to CBJ before FS. She was very energetic, but was careful not to get me too hot too soon. We went through 4 or 5 positions before I was spent. Very enjoyable! After, there was no rush. We lay down and talked a little, just small talk, but it was nice to feel that they were not trying to get you out of the door as soon as. After around 10 minutes, she took me to the shower again and washed me down. The ajima re-appeared and took me back to the changing room.
All in all a very good experience. The staff and SP where very foreigner friendly. I will certainly return here next time I visit South Korea and would recommend it very highly!
