I've been to a bunch of Gangnam Anmas so far, including Fish, Ace, and Donut. My experience has been very mixed. Of my 4 trips, only once resulted in an actual hot young girl. The other ones were clearly leftovers that Korean clients did not want. So I'm curious. Do the RLDs, such as Cheon-Ho, have better looking and younger girls than the Anmas? Or is it about the same? Thanks for the advice. Macau sounds like a better idea, it looks like $200-300 can get you pretty far in terms of service at saunas. I still might spend some time in Korea just to eat. First time report from an experience in Seoul.

Miari is probably where you'the get the best service. The women there would be slightly older than those at Cheonho. Don't be afraid to be picky here. I can't imagine the establishment overcharging because you don't speak Korean and I hope race wouldn't be an issue but I can't say for certain.
OPs are definitely more complex to get into but definitely not as difficult as the establishments in Japan.
My advice to Korean or Asian non native speakers is to find a native speaker who can make the reservation for you or text through google translate.
On a side note Anmas are more might be better for someone like you as they are more accepting of walkins and they provide a more hardcore style of service. OPs on the other hand have younger girls and you can pick your victims.

I'd generally agree that the service in the states is better than in Korea, but it's gone downhill since of the main review sites went offline. Stopped by and had a talk with some ladies on The Hill, and got some serious news.
Much of the top of the hill is to be demolished by April 1, to make way for more hotel or hostel guest house buildings.
I took a photo of them more condemned buildings, and heard that some of your favorite haunts will also be ripped down, including old Polly's kettle. But if course, this ancient site is not taking it.
Basically everything that is on either side of Polly's, including Avant Garde, Tiffany, and the other in that block, also. Bar J, Forrest, and new Polly's are already boarded up.
They are still there, but this includes where your beloved Kay and friend Bean work. Saw Kay was there tonight.

She thought I was Japanese. So then I get the hell out of dodge. And wandered the area looking for some windows. I never found them, but I found a ton of love hotels. And even more norebangs. It helps that I can read a little.
So please learn from my experience and don't ever pay first until you see the goods. Also stay away from exit 6. Also research better first and if you're from the states use T-Mobile as you can roam free. I didn't have internet access on the trip thus the larger chance of messing up.
By the time I left I had spent around 2 hours in the area including the time it took to get my money back. Which I would say was Not an easy task.
Another note, try and travel with a buddy, because shit almost got real out there and it pays to have someone who has your back. I was constantly looking around to see if muscle was coming. Something close to this happened in HK.
Ending the story, I got back to my room and internet and read I went to the wrong exit. I should have headed to times square and Marriott. Which I think I did end up doing in my wanderings, but I was unable to find any windows.

Tiandao.You got it right, never pay until you've seen the girl and her ass stays put while you pay the mamasan. Korea can be confusing so always do your homework and don't try to memorize directions or subway exits. I used to write everything down so I knew exactly where to go. Hope you have better luck next time.

Take the Line 4 to the north and exit the train at Gireum station. It is the 4th station after Dongdaemun.
It should also be obvious from Google maps where it is located using Google maps. Look for the rabbit warren streets near the subway.
Take exit 10 and the entrance to Miari RLD is right 10 m to the right behind the 'flying curtain'.
Actually there are tons of entrances and maybe about close on 100 establishments inside.
Some actually front onto the main street and are not in the RLD and I get waved in there too.
The ATMs near the metro entrance have stopped taking my credit card (all the NICE ones and more) and last time I had to walk far to the far east of Miari to find a store with a machine outside that did the business.
Some of the shops might not wave you in and that is ok. There will be tons of mama-san that will ask if you want HJ or sex etc. Just explore the area. Don't worry. You will get laid.
You'll see lots of old women sitting on the various benches around. Easiest way to identify a place that is "foreigner" friendly (for some definition of the term) is to wander until one tries to attract your attention. Maybe they won't budge on a first attempt but will do so later.

Tiandao.If you arrive by subway you can go through the underground shopping centre. Not sure which exit from the center, but I think number two. You will find the rld right next, running along, to the Shinsegae shopping mall, a road between the mall and Yeongdeungpo subway station.
Easy to locate on Naver or Daum maps. The windows will be blurred in street view, so you know it's the rld.
I just met Jeni Yi at my room in Seoul, not far from Namdaemun. Here is the bottom line. If you are a Westerner with limited Korean skills and a decent budget, I say go for it. She was on time, looked great, was easy to talk to, delivered all as promised, and left me with a smile on my face. Is she expensive. Yes. But if you don't speak Korean fairly well (working on that!
