We've tried to warn them for years about getting fleeced, but Ultimately have failed.
The issue isn't the 500 k, the issue is what 500 k gets you. I don't know how else to show people they are being ripped off. Each to his own I guess.

Throughout the years I have found out the best way to find really good places is to have a Korean friend take you to local places that might be difficult to find as a foreigner here. In my experience some places that may not accept foreigners will accept foreigners when they are with a Korean friend. Good luck.

The ones in Gangnam (gangnam station specifically) and some select areas near Bundang / Suwon said no or didn't respond / pick up. I got way more hits than I thought I would. Some places around Gangnam (again, not gangnam station itself just look at a map and the local sites and you'll figure it out) were more than happy to take my money. I met with both Korean and Russian girls. In this mongers opinion, paying the premium price for a shorter time with Russian girls in Korea ain't worth it, but they are definitely more foreigner friendly.

Anyone been to the Hill in Itaewon lately? There are tons of ATMs around. You will be able to find the ones that work. The ones at the airport and Costco works. The ones at Itaewon should work. All Citibank ATMs will work. In the subway stations and elsewhere, some of the ATMs will have a sign that states "Global ATM"; those will work.
There should still be a black market for US hundred dollar bills. You get a slightly better rate. In Namdaemun market, there will be old ladies sitting on stools asking for hundred dollar bills.

About a year and a half ago, some places started to be more selective due to police cracking down more. Assuming you get a reply, at some point you will need to call them, or they will call you to get the actual location and room, so if you don't speak Korean (or understand Korean), you won't be able to get very far.
If you're in Seoul for an extended period of time, start practicing your korean.
By the time you start comfortably ordering food delivery on the phone and you know the number / address system, communicating with officetel and lip cafe managers will be a breeze (though your first few times might be a bust).

Looking to get back into the scene. A few years ago was here, and visited some anmas. There are many Massage places in Asan Tecno Valley, and most of them advertise in English, and some say welcome foreigners. I went to Myeong. Something Massage on a 2nd floor of this building. But realistically it was like a 30 min massage (some oil was used at the end, but to prep for what I'm about to say next), then after 30 min pretty much eased into a HJ with oil and obviously how ever fast you finished would be how ever soon the session would end.
Some notes:
The room was dim so I couldn't get a real good look at the girl, there's not "choosing" just a girl comes into the room, so that kinda stinks.
