For what it's worth, the sex industry in East Asia is almost entirely inward looking. There's enough money within the country that there is no need to bring in customers from outside and this has been the way it is for a long, long time.

These days, there is actually so much affluence that the country imports women. This is why there are so many Thai staffed establishments. Importing women has, in turn, put a premium on the prices that Korean women charge. The ads I see show that Korean women charge at least 50% more than their Thai counterparts in Korea. Not only do they charge more, they don't always specify services on offer, and thus may not always provide what is expected. In my experience with Koreans, many refuse to allow kissing, DATY, and CIP or CIM. Some do offer these options, but I don't like to gamble on whether these essential services are provided or not. In my opinion, they are not optional.

Worst of all, with few exceptions, Koreans don't generally offer their services to foreigners at all. Or, as you may have read on the forum, foreigners are often offered Korean women who are older, or they are offered service with pretty women at premium establishments for premium prices, but without the premium service. As others have already stated, 300,000 is a lot of money for covered, one shot service.

Regarding regular women in Korea, as a rule of thumb, they date Korean men. Even dating within their racial boundaries, they are often unwilling to date strangers and would much prefer to be introduced to someone by friend or family. If the women in the street weren't looking at you, rest assured that they also weren't looking at random Korean men. It's simply a consequence of the value placed on established social bonds and a strong reluctance to make room for outsiders.

There are, of course, places to go to find Korean women who like western men, but I have no idea what the scene would be like post-pandemic. Maybe others are more knowledgeable about the scene in Itaewon and around university neighborhoods such as Hongdae. I've been on the sidelines for some time, so I'm clueless about the current state of the pickup scene, but I do know that if you're young and attractive, you can make it happen.

If you take exit 1 out of Hongdae at the green line, go towards the the first back street behind the main road. You should be on the opposite of the main Hongdae area. At the first intersection, on the left backhand corner above a convenient store, you will see a sign with a big K at the very top. I believe it is the third floor you there is one there. However, I think a better one is down the road. When you are at the first intersection facing away from the main road, make a left and go almost all the way down the street. On the right hand side towards the end, there is a red brick building after a "banana noraebang" and you'll see a sign with a K on it and says kiss time if I remember correctly. Go up to the third floor and there is another one there that I've found to have hotter girls.

Neither is what the establishment would want.

The third reason is some people just don't know how to behave. Yes, Korean men can misbehave and get banned from an establishment, but that establishment wouldn't ban all Koreans from visiting. Our relatively low numbers compared to locals means these places can literally afford to not have us serviced. One foreigner acting up could mean we all get tainted with the same brush, leaving the girl / establishment with the mindset that foreigners aren't worth the hassle. Why deal with foreigners in the first place when 99% of your clientele are locals who are willing to pay your rates?

Then there are the foreigners who don't mind spending money as if they're throwing confetti. This is especially true for those of us who frequent part timers and independent girls. I remember one poster here years back admitting he told the OG legendary service provider Sarah that her rates were too low and that she should charge higher. Naturally she followed his advice and her rates roughly doubled yearly after that till she retired and left the scene, this was right around the time MR girls figured they could charge 300 k+ KRW and get away with it. I understand what you're saying but I just see it differently. These establishments screen clients themselves so it's not like more people show up and suddenly it's a free for all for all types of shady customers. They don't just let anyone in. A lot of places advertise and want people to find them. Not all of us know how to find that info as well as a local.

I just find it odd to post on a forum meant to share info when no one is really sharing info. Most advice doesn't actually direct you to anything concrete. Everyone can do what they want. I'm not willing to tell the exact location because Hyugetels are not traditional businesses with a sign out front. You can't just stroll up out of the blue and ask to see what's available.

If, for instance, you were to show up unannounced, and somehow managed to get into the residential building and up to the right room without reservation, no one would open the door. If you were persistent and kept knocking and ringing the bell, it is likely that a group of men would come into the hall to escort you away. The other likely scenario is that the cops arrive. Hyugetels are located in residential buildings and people don't normally linger suspiciously in the halls trying to gain entrance to a residence that they have not been invited to.

Since Hyugetels are not locations you can just visit off the street, the only way to find them is to use the online ad listings. Since you know where to find these ads, you just have to use them. As I've mentioned before, if you are unable to navigate the website to find an ad, you will have an extremely hard time calling and making a reservation. If you can figure this part out, but can't speak Korean, then try to use English and see what happens. I don't know whether it will work, but it might be worth a shot. Regardless, be prepared for rejection.

I am hesitant to give the exact names of the Hyugetels that have accepted me because YMMV in the extreme. Some things that will make the process more likely to succeed are 1) be East Asian or white 2) speak Korean over the phone 3) be polite 4) call during late afternoon and early evening when there are fewer customers.

If you're having trouble navigating the online ad listings, I'm not unsympathetic to the issues you're facing. One of the reasons I've posted reports is to offer guidance. I've also posted to prove that it's not impossible. To aid you further, read the reports that have been posted in the past to find general location information, then realize that you can use this information to narrow down your web search. If, after you call the 5 to 10 Hyugetels in a given neighborhood and none offer you service, well, it's on you. As I stated before YMMV and no guarantees.

Thanks to everyone's input on this forum. I had a successful weekend of mongering in Seoul.

I found the one that you mentioned, however although the establishment was open, there wasn't anyone there. I went inside the rooms, peeked around and tried to find a provider but couldn't. So finally gave up and went outside to explore other options.

Found a similar establishment less than 100 yards away.

It was one of the best experiences that I had in Seoul. If you don't have Thai phobia, this is definitely a place that I recommend. 50 k for the above average 60 min massage and then 70 k for a 30 min sex. The lady was tall, decent looking and fit. In other unfortunate news, a bunch of my favorite places have outright closed. Over the last couple of months they have pulled their ads from the web and disappeared. Unfortunately this is not new, it is a decades old issue when it comes to mongering in Korea as a foreigner.

There will always be those select few assholes who ruin all the fun for everyone, and the establishments won't have the patience to figure out the bad ones and weed them out. Luckily for you, they already know you well and it'll always be business as usual when you turn up. It'll be another few months before any new foreigners are allowed in though.

Even if all the foreigners visiting are of the best behaviour, most places and girls still wouldn't like it when there's a sudden deluge of foreign customers they're getting in a short period of time. This also leads to blanket bans till things cool down (best case scenario). This is why the board etiquette here a few years back was to only share details of establishment locations via DM with other posters who also have locations to share. At least that way some sort of filtering is going on and more people get to do their homework, with the main exceptions being RLD locations and places in gagnam and hongdae.

Take it from us old heads who have done the rounds in hundreds of establishments up and down the country.

Prices are a bit expensive, but they have deals on a lot of the massage sites if you search around and make an appointment. Reading further into the current crackdown I also realized that the police are particularly focused on establishments that employ immigrants. This seems to be because the prosecutors office is able to show that the Korean management conspired to traffic women and conceal income. Law enforcement is seeking to use advertisements and phone records as proof of intent which is why some businesses no longer communicate through text.

If you happen to know whether the crackdown is also impacting OPs and Anmas where Korean women work, I would love to know.

There are lots of ads and info in Korean Opi or Yuhung / nightlife sites, but they are all in Korean language and you need to use Korean VPN to have your IP address originate from Korea. Also, many of crowd contents are not available unless you sign up to be a member with a certain member level, usually gained by daily attendance and forum participation.

There really should be a glossary for Korean hobby terms, but Opi /“오피”/ Officetel is the most popular venue. It's similar to AAMP in US where you make a reservation to meet a girl in an apartment / officetel. You can find hot young girls providing basic / GFE servie. The downside is that it's pricy and most place will require you to give out PII or a proof of identity, then they store them in a database and pass them around. However, you seem to have a pretty good understanding.

Maybe I can clarify a few things.

As far as I know, every service in Korea is managed. There are simply too many moving parts for an independent to master, and too many potential dangers for "management" not to be involved at some point in the process (advertising, real estate, booking, accounting, security, bribery, secretarial work etc.).

Even women who claim to be independent are almost certainly not.

I know that independence might be important to some, in the same way that free trade products are important to others, but in either case I'm simply not sure that labels can be trusted.

I know that working women used to hang out in the lobbies and bars of five star hotels, and they were potentially independent, but most forms of visible prostitution have been removed in the past few years. I imagine that even the most discreet hotel ladies stopped working during the pandemic and who knows whether they would have returned by now or whether they will ever return.

If you really don't mind spending a huge chunk of money, you might consider paying for a premium membership and then contacting the posters who experienced the real deal earlier this year. They may be able to help you, and believe me when I say that you require help from an experienced monger. Without someone's help, you'll have a really tough time. Of course, feel free to contact the VVIP services on your own. After all, their telephone numbers are listed, but as everyone already knows, YMMV.

Was at home sending out messages to see which Hyugetels would bite, when one called back. Mind you, the shop didn't reply with a text, but instead suddenly called.

You're right, understanding the scene in Korea is difficult. However, you seem to have a pretty good understanding.

Maybe I can clarify a few things.

As far as I know, every service in Korea is managed. There are simply too many moving parts for an independent to master, and too many potential dangers for "management" not to be involved at some point in the process (advertising, real estate, booking, accounting, security, bribery, secretarial work etc.).

Even women who claim to be independent are almost certainly not.

I know that independence might be important to some, in the same way that free trade products are important to others, but in either case I'm simply not sure that labels can be trusted.

I know that working women used to hang out in the lobbies and bars of five star hotels, and they were potentially independent, but most forms of visible prostitution have been removed in the past few years. I imagine that even the most discreet hotel ladies stopped working during the pandemic and who knows whether they would have returned by now or whether they will ever return.

If you really don't mind spending a huge chunk of money, you might consider paying for a premium membership and then contacting the posters who experienced the real deal earlier this year. So apparently this May and June was a major crackdown season. According to the intel sites, this crackdowns should be done by June 30th, but YMMV.

I'm also a gypo but fluent in Korean. There are lots of ads and info in Korean Opi or Yuhung / nightlife sites, but they are all in Korean language and you need to use Korean VPN to have your IP address originate from Korea. Also, many of crowd contents are not available unless you sign up to be a member with a certain member level, usually gained by daily attendance and forum participation.

There really should be a glossary for Korean hobby terms, but Opi / Officetel is the most popular venue. It's similar to AAMP in US where you make a reservation to meet a girl in an apartment / officetel. You can find hot young girls providing basic / GFE service. The downside is that it's pricy and most place will require you to give out PII or a proof of identity, then they store them in a database and pass them around. The recent busts focused around Opis because of this and many guys listed in the database was called to police office for questioning. So take your risk.

Hugaetel is like Opi but usually have foreign girls providing GFE / PSE at cheaper price. They also require your PII for screening.

There's are several reasons why people are reluctant to share their golden spots.

What tends to happen is once a place of service is shared on a forum like this, it will usually get flooded with foreigners in the short term. Yes, that may sound good for the establishment in theory, but remember the establishment usually has a roster of women who probably have no interest in servicing foreigners, so the one (or few) girl (s) there who do will end up getting swamped in no time, burning them out and causing them to either stop working or stop seeing us.

The other thing is once you share the location of a place, you have no power over what other people who now have this information get to do with it. They'll share it with people they know, and if snowballs from there. Most Korean establishments operate on the basis of anonymity and inconspicuousness, they're there, but they're not supposed to be visible or easily identifiable. So when there is a sudden deluge of dudes who are clearly not locals constant entering and leaving a location, it speaks volumes to (a) local customers and (b) regular civilians who would no doubt notice the trend. Neither is what the establishment would want.

The third reason is some people just don't know how to behave. Yes, Korean men can misbehave and get banned from an establishment, but that establishment wouldn't ban all Koreans from visiting. Our relatively low numbers compared to locals means these places can literally afford to not have us serviced. One foreigner acting up could mean we all get tainted with the same brush, leaving the girl / establishment with the mindset that foreigners aren't worth the hassle. Why deal with foreigners in the first place when 99% of your clientele are locals who are willing to pay your rates?

Then there are the foreigners who don't mind spending money as if they're throwing confetti. This is especially true for those of us who frequent part timers and independent girls. I remember one poster here years back admitting he told the OG legendary service provider Sarah that her rates were too low and that she should charge higher. Naturally she followed his advice and her rates roughly doubled yearly after that till she retired and left the scene, this was right around the time MR girls figured they could charge 300 k+ KRW and get away with it.
