The JoongAng Ilbo in their Jan 11 edition printed a pretty dreadful story about a section of the English Spectrum website called Ask The Playboy. The gist of it is that English teachers come over here and brag about how the money is easy and the Korean girls are even easier.
You can imagine the Koreans' reaction.

Hi Guys,
I have been doing alot of mongering these past weeks and I must say that things look like they are back to normal in the RLDs post Crackdown but it seems that only about half the shops are open.
Have been to Yongsan RLD 3 times and have had mixed results.
588 I have only been once and The girls there are HOT!!! but the service was really clinical.

You can get pop, its just like any where else you go. You have to use good judgement. The Cops patrol the Hill and the RLDs, just don't be too obvious. South Korean police bust spouse swapping website for obscenity

Police have busted the operator and members of an online swingers community in South Korea. The nation’s largest partner-swapping site with more than 5,000 registered members, had in one year arranged over 400 sexual encounters involving both unmarried individuals and married couples.
More than 150 suspected South Korean swingers have been questioned by police so far for possibly violating pornography laws by posting naked pictures of themselves on a Web site for spouse swapping.
Members are said to include upper-class Koreans. Busan police detained on Tuesday a 37-year-old man identified as Yu for founding and operating the website and arranging for what police described as "abnormal" sexual relations between the community's members.
Yu founded the site in September 2003, recruited members for the site, and arranged for sexual encounters including partner swaps and group sex. Videos and pictures from the encounters were put on the site, and police suspect Yu made over W50 million (US$50,000) from membership fees.
The website included some 1,200 photos and videos, 300 of which were taken by members during their sexual encounters.
Among the trysts Yu is suspected of having arranged was a December 16, 2004 orgy in a guesthouse in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province involving 16 members who engaged in partner swapping and two-on-one sex. Police believe site members engaged in over 400 sexual encounters in all and plan to call 200 members suspected of involvement for questioning.
Yu told police members would look at nude photos or videos of couples having sex, and if they liked what they saw, they would contact the site and arrange to have sex with the individuals in places like hotels. He said high-income earners including the CEO of a mid-sized firm made up the bulk of the community's members.
Yu classified members into four categories according to their activity, taking into account the photos they took of themselves, their sexual encounters and payment of membership dues. Men were required to be over 25 to join, and women over 23. Membership fees were W32,000 for two months, with the option of a W120,000 lifetime registration fee. Police said about 450 users were lifetime members.
The police have evidence of more than 400 meetings between members on the Web site where they swapped partners or engaged in group sex, media reports said. However, police admit to being on shaky ground. They say while swinging may be detrimental to public morality, it is a consensual activity and there are no legal grounds for punishing it.
Authorities hope to pursue the matter under related pornography and obscenity laws.
The Web site called "Bubu Plus" had attracted more than 5,000 fee-paying members over the past two years simply from word of mouth.

He stopped me and explained that the recent crackdown had changed everything and it would be hard to find what I was looking for. I took me almost another 20 minutes until I found an available black cab and did as the guy suggested. The driver thought about my request for 30 seconds and asked me whether the “Gangnam” district would be okay – I almost laughed out loud, as this was where my hotel was located. (Name Removed), 39, of Coppell, was released on his own recognizance during a preliminary hearing Wednesday before U.S. Magistrate Irma C. Ramirez in Dallas. He was arrested early Tuesday at his home during a raid by 20 federal agents, including a heavily armed tactical team.
Special Agent David Popp of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement testified that agents believe (name removed) worked with an "international alien smuggling ring" to recruit Korean hostesses for his business, the WA Club.
(name removed), a Korean-American, declined to answer questions from reporters as he rushed from the courthouse. A federal grand jury will decide whether there is enough evidence to bring the case to trial.
"I think the truth will come out," said his lawyer, William Bratton of Dallas. "I think it's a complicated case for the government to prove."
Bratton said (name removed) came to the United States in 1986 and became a naturalized citizen last year. He described his client as a legitimate businessman with a wife and child, whose livelihood is rattled by media attention on the case.
Especially harmful, he said, are inferences that He was running a sex slave ring.
But Sarah Saldana, a federal prosecutor, noted that (name removed) doesn't face any charges relating to prostitution.
"This case concerns the concealing and harboring of illegal aliens," she said. "It has nothing to do with the purpose that these women were brought here."
Concerns about prostitution, however, were what started the investigation.
According to Popp, his neighbors complained to police last year that women were constantly coming and going at night from (name removed)'s home in Coppell, northwest of Dallas.

He said she fled to a Korean minister who referred her to law enforcement officers. Popp said she later told him that the women worked at (name removed)'s club to pay the fees charged by the smugglers, about $12,000.
Popp said the woman reported that she was never forced to have sex with any of the Korean businessmen who came to the club, but some of the other women "chose to do so to pay off their debts quicker."

If she's looking for a guy to show her a good time (measured by the amount of won spent on a date), it's not too hard for her to find local, moneyed Korean talent.

Using logic from your story, women in the USA are well off because its a wealthy country, but we all know too well that there are millions of Americans living in poverty so what make you think that because Korea is a top economic country that the citizens are doing well. And if they are doing so well, why is my masseuse a 22-yr. university student working out call? I never asked but maybe I will ask her next time what motivates her to do what she does if she has such good career opportunities. If you saw her on the street you would never believe what she does on the side.

I have read conflicting reports on acceptance of foreigners in these areas. I have not visited an RLD in a few years, but I remember one area where the chances for white guys was higher. Maybe it was Miara, but I am not certain. The alleyways were a bit darker if I remember. I think I paid 60k for BBBJ + FS. The girl was only about a 6-7, but the service was pretty good. I visited another two brighter areas where nearly all the girls refused.
What is the current situation? I do not want to pay more than 60-70k ST, but I am looking for better quality than one can find on the "hill". Any suggestions?

There are thousands of Korean soldiers know as "KATUSAS" that speak english, granted some better than others and never attended a day of private school (ever spent time with them), they learn it in public school and from being around GIs. I know this from my many years of interacting with them, research and write offer facts to back up your claims if you want to make these types of statements, this will give your piece the creditbility it's lacking. Learning to speak a language is depended on an individual's dedication and commitment to it. Unless you've dated a representative sample of Korean girls and you've obviously not, you shouldn't make blanket statements. You don't and can't speak for a whole race of people, no one can.
I know you don't know the majority of the civilian contractors, if you classified them as lonely and they're not the only ones, these people are living large, check out the Hyatt Hotel on a Friday night, but now I know you're making unfactual statements just to make your point. If you're 50 and looking for a 23 year old Korean woman who is fluent in English, you can't think of them as being like a 23 year old thai woman or flipina. Koreans learn English in school but the English educaiton is generally a pitful joke. The only people who can really learn to speak it are those who come from middle classed families who can afford to send them to private night schools.
Koreans have a 97% Korean literacy. Sure. But I'm not sure how this is evidence they're fluent in English. Again, we come back to the unavoidable fact that women who speak English in Korea (beyond some basic words) are middle and upper classed. There's nothing quite sadder than seeing a middle aged man strutting around Seoul thinking he's a sex god because of his white skin. The fluent ones generally come from good families and have very high expectations and Korean society offers her a lot more in terms of career and status than a woman in China or Thailand.

I have to agree with Mofaka here. I'm late 30's and speak basic Korean, and most of my GF's in Seoul have been late 20's early 30's (some married but most single) and professional: TV reporter, IT consultant, business manager. I usually don't have a problem finding them. Although, I have noticed as I approach the big 40 it is becoming more difficult to hook-up. But, that's being offset slightly by being able to speak Korean better. :-)
My impression has been in some cases that they're hooking up with me as a last resort in an attempt to find a husband. Economic and cultural conditions in Korea aren't the same as Thailand, China, the Philippines, etc. One should not come to Seoul expecting Korea to be a carbon copy of less developed places in Asia. Why do young asian women in, say, the Philippines attach themselves to an older white guy? Economic and cultural reasons. Those rules don't apply here.
The vast majority of young Korean women in university are there because their parents have financial resources. To get into university in Korea you have to spend nearly every waking hour in expensive night schools preparing for exams. The only people who can afford those schools are middle and upper classed families. The daughters of those families have expectations similar to a woman in a good university in North America. If college debs aren't throwing themselves at you in North America, don't expect your white skin to make much of a difference in Korea. That's the reality.
Koreans in Korea view Korean society as the superior society. Americans are the barbarians. The majority of Koreans I encounter can't imagine living any place else. This place is perfect to them. They're like Texans.
If they're female, fluent in English, and have a university degree, they can make a good life here. Of course what passes for good English ability in Korea would seem FOBish to North Americans in a professional environment. They understand a life in North America means starting at the bottom again. No more sweet office job at Samsung. It's two years working in a Korean restaurant as a waitress and two years of intensive English education. My response, BS. Why? What are these so called rich daddies girls going to college for anyway? Korean companies do not keep Korean women working once they reach around 30 years of age! These women go to college for one big reason...to meet a man. Period. They are looking for the sons of rich parents. Very few Koreans are fluent in English. Kongolish, yes. English, no.

Dealing with Koreans is like dealing with bright adolescents. They're full of energy and want to do everything yesterday. But they throw tantrums and are prone to dangerous and erratic behavior if their whims are not indulged. In most countries, intellectuals become universal. You learn that great ideas and values have no national boundaries. What is profoundly disturbing is that Korean intellectuals become more xenophobic and nationalistic, and perpetuate the idea that all of Korea's problems are the result of willfulness by foreigners. This is the mark of a scoundrel. Korean society makes a sharp distinction between an individual's inner circle of family, friends and business colleagues, and outsiders. Members of the inner circle must always be treated with absolute respect and courtesy, while strangers are treated with indifference. Korean society is not egalitarian: a person's status is strictly defined in relation to others. How do foreigners and or the US military fit into this scheme? The simple answer is they don't. Koreans however do want your money but once they get it, you are useless to them. Look at the Japanese that visit Korea. Many Koreans hate the Japanese, but to their faces, they welcome them because they want their money. Behind their backs, many Koreans are backstabbers.

Message to Darren 33 re: Friends. First of all, Friends has had a change of name: It is now called "Seollaem", which means, I think, "anticipation", or something like that.

It IS still possible to visit (at least, I have found it so) but, for now, it is not easy. He is trying to work out how best to deal with everything so that all comers can be welcomed again.
It should be noted that this negativity certainly does NOT come from all Koreans - far from it - just a few ignorant racists, that's all. Most people in Korea are quite laid back and I've met some great guys through the doord of what was "Friends". As soon as there is better news, I promise to let you all know via this forum.

Wow, is all I can say. Get out of Itaewon. Take a look around Sinchon or Kodae or SNU or Myeong Dong or Dongdaemoon or Jongno. Look at all the young hot Korean girls. Hurdle Two: English. Even those that can speak it don't for fear of looking stupid. Losing face is a huge thing here. I love Seoul. What a city for hobbying. I have no experience at all north of the river. I always stay south in Gangnam or Jamsil/Olympic park area. The place I really like is the area just across the street form the Grand Intercontinental (nice Hotel by the way). Gotta love it. There are a lot of places with rotating barber signs. When there are more than one sign rotating, it is an AMP Korean style. Worked every time so far. You just walk in, mumble the word massage and off you go. The standard price seems to be 70,000 Won ($70).
They have a great routine: First you take your cloth off and they put you in a sort of shorts. Then you lay down on your belly, they give you a 2 minute rub and then they take the shorts of which is not easy since you lie on it. No idea what the shorts is about - maybe some legal deal.
Then they start with the serious massage business. I have massages all over the world (both types) and I have to say that I really like the Korean style. It seems you went to the place I go to. Hyu-Ge Land. I didn't know the owner spoke English, then again, I always speak Korean with him. I recall mentioning in a previous report that foreigners (or non-Korean/Japanese/etc) might not get serviced in the area.

Yes, the infamous Buk-Chang-Dong. To find all the excitement, you need to wander in the area near the Seoul Plaza Hotel (actually behind it), nearby City Hall. There are numerous Business Clubs in the proximity and simply look for the neon lights in the back alleys. To give you a better sense of directions, look for the Outback Steakhouse and just wander around and you cannot miss it.

Yes, the infamous Buk-Chang-Dong. To find all the excitement, you need to wander in the area near the Seoul Plaza Hotel (actually behind it), nearby City Hall. There are numerous Business Clubs in the proximity and simply look for the neon lights in the back alleys. To give you a better sense of directions, look for the Outback Steakhouse and just wander around and you cannot miss it.One of the challenges of the Bukchang-dong room salons is the fact that many of them -- at least, when I was younger -- initially refuse entry to foreigners. Nice hotel. Unfortunately there are no red light districts in the immediate area but you do have Itaewon and the infamous hooker hill. Read previous posts to get more information.
Any cab driver can take you to these red light districts and the service is either hit or miss. You also need to take account of your skin color as well, as some rows may or may not service you. It's unfortunate but I'm sure some members on the Seoul board have experienced this before.
As for short time means, your best bet is to go to a massage parlour unless you happen to find some lovely meat on the street, but the chances are unlikely.

Twelve hours. Not long enough, I don't think. Well, it's possible, but it'll be tiring. Since you'll arrive at ICN (Incheon Int'l), conservatively think about an hour and a half to get to Itaewon. Though if it's around 5-6am, it will take less than an hour. Then you can go to "the hill". I've only been there twice, and never did play there. The girls weren't my type.

I'll be heading back to Thailand in November, and I have to put up with a 10+ hour layover in Incheon in order to take advantage of a free KAL ticket that I got with Delta miles. Now I know that Incheon is a beautiful airport, with a great Internet Kiosk, among other benefits, but I still would like to come up with something useful to kill the time. I can really only surf the web for a couple of hours, then maybe a couple more hours for napping and grabbing some food, but more to the point, are there any nearby opportunities (other than self-service) for me to relieve the semen build-up that I'll surely experience on the long trans-pacific leg on my way to paradise?
How rough would customs in Incheon be, and do I need a visa to leave the airport for a several hour trip for some hobbying? And what type of mongering opportunities are within a short cab ride from Incheon airport.

Some one asked this same question about four or five weeks ago and some posters resonded too. Probably nothing around the Airport area that is overt enough for Mongers to know about. However the ride to Seoul is less than an hour, so you can go to the RLDs (yougsan, Miari,most taxi drivers can take you to these places) or the infamous Hill in Itewon.
Depending on your finances, you could book a Hotel Room and pick up a copy of the Korea Times/Herald and call one of those massage places in the paper or also visit a Barber shop (Taxi driver can take you there).
You don't need a VISA to leave the Airport, but will have to go through the secutity screening to get back in. At Incheon you have to take off your shoes and wear a pair of slipper/sandal to go through the metal detector.
Your best bet may very well be your Final destination where you can get all you want and then some, but who knows, things may change between now and November, but I wouldn' bet on it.

I have visited Korea 2 (once for visa purposes) times in the last 7 years and regularly read this thread of the ISG. My overall impression is that our money is really not all that welcome there. Which means you will probably stand a better than 50/50 chance of being disappointed by taking a quick jaunt into Seoul. I wouldn't do it, especially if I felt jet lagged, which is likely.
I have visited Thailand at least 10 times in the last 7 years, and will return in December. Our money is much more than just welcome there.
Why bother being treated like an outcast, when if you keep your pants zipped up for an additional 10 hours, you can have that much better explosion with someone who is likely to treat you like a king? For that matter, 2 or 3 explosions with the money you will save.

Just wait until you get to Thailand. Trust me. If you go into Seoul you're going to pay 10 times as much as you would in Thailand. Even at a Barbershop you'll pay at least 70k (with tip). Just wait - you'll have a better time for a much cheaper price, and with a MUCH more beautiful girl. If you want sex from a hottie in Korea, expect to pay at least 100k. Maybe 70k if you go to Yongsan. But even then, Thai girls are hotter by far.

Thanks Run Mann and Ralph, I appreciate the honest advice. Believe me, as I am not a newbie to Thailand, I know very well that later that night, I will have access to all the action I need in the area around Sukhumvit once I arrive. I was simply trying to find some worthwhile diversion to kill some time while waiting between flights. I guess I will simply try to grab some sleep on the reasonably comfortable chairs which the Koreans have thoughtfully set up without arm rests so that one can lie across three of them - and save up my loads for the lovely thai ladies who will certainly appreciate receiving them from a "hansum man" bearing gifts such as I!
Has anyone been to O2 in Yongsan lately? How much is it and are foreigners still welcome?
Had a trip recently to Yongsan. Quick shot with a busty but slender lady in the back row closest to Emart. She looked like she was wearing a mask, she had that much makeup on, but she was cute and even spoke some English. She complained when I didn't last the whole 20 mins. It's hard these days to monger in Seoul. Just a few a-holes on the Korean equivalent of the WSG (or should I say ISG) forum have caused most shop owners to stop the servicing of foreigners. I'm sure that most people don't care, and even the shop owners and girls don't mind. But when they're blackballed as a result, they inevitably have to protect their larger market share. I'm hanging out for a visit to Jang An Dong, but have reservations about a long trip and a blue balled rejection.
Some may say Thailand, but while I'm here I'm sure that the easy girls around Itaewon can give me a few free rides. Seems a shame to let all that pussy go to waste doesn't it?
