That area is well known and you regularly hear reports of some local idiot getting caught trying to pick up some SW. For the time being stick with well established places or providers you use on a regular basis is what I would recommend.
Play hard but play safe. While the laws here are pretty tame compared to US law, still not worth the embarrasment of having a police record.

T. 72Everyone wants them but no one wants them in their neighborhood. I doubt any city or district will sanction official red-light districts because of the negative association involved. Don't hold your breath, Chinese people are not as open as those in Amersterdam.

Before I ask my question, let me share my past three experiences from August 2011. This was my first and only visit to Taiwan.

Of course, you do need to be careful. That part of the city is always crowded and it would be hard to negotiate without somebody knowing what you were doing.

Anyways, I just want to report some of the lessons I've learned trolling the Longshan district while in Taiwan on business.
1. Don't do the pseudo-KTV chicks in Longshan. They charge 600NT up for just the tea and room, and try to upsell you another 1000-2000 for their service.
I told one of the chicks that I just wanted to go up to her apartment with no overhead or drama. Instead, she took me to the pseudo-KTV room, and I told her that was not what I wanted. But she said it was too late and the boss already charged 600NT for the room, and that she wanted another 1800NT for FS, and tried to get me to pay for another chick as well. Well, I figured I'd just leave the 600NT (20US) and chalk that up loss as learning experience and walked out.
2. It is better to find an independent working girl in the alley ways. I had 3-4 different chicks charging 1000NT each time. Some only offered HJ, but I did get a couple for FS for 1000NT. And the best part is that all these chicks have their own apartments that you go to so there are boss or room overheads. In general, they rush you a bit, but for the 30US equivalent for a pop, that is not bad, I guess.
3. Don't expect too much GFE for 1000NT (or 30US equivalent). These Longshan WGs are business minded and want to finish their job as efficiently as possible and get more business. So if you are looking for higher priced GFEs then these WGs are not.
4. In general, the average age of the WGs are in the 50s, but there are 30-something gems to be found. It is hit or miss on the most part, just like YMMV with the service.
If I was staying longer, I definitely would have a different gameplan to build a list of regulars that I can call up, but for a short stay, this is okay and cheap.

I mean are the cops on some moral crusade just to land a 6000NT fine? They seem underpaid and overworked as it is. Someone can point us at that website where the (old and?) new law are posted, but what I read talks about fines, not jail. I guess everyone is adjusting, but I still think there are some silver linings to the new law. Particularly if one of these years one of the local governments approves a red light district. Not all of them are as squeaky-clean put-up-some-nice-window-dressing-for-the-westerners as Taipei city is. (I suggest, next to the nuclear power plants, in what is clearly already a NIMBY-free zone).
Agree that girls should not be more nervous. I heard some report that politicians are saying the law has been successful because busts have dropped from a couple hundred (thousand?) to 6 over the same period, last year to this.
That means far fewer people are getting busted.

I've been going to see a #6 (mid 30's) from Chongqing, for several months now. Good skin, nice legs and rack, pleasant face, but has a little bit around the midsection. The only point for freebies (actually same question arises for paybies, just the answer is different) is: where to meet them?

If you see an area with some parking spaces then its a sure deal they have a secondary entrance for more private minded customers. There are literally 10 to 15 of these hotels on JianGuo road and some of them are quite nice. I used on with rates about 880 for a 2 hour stay. A little pricey but the rooms are posh and the beds are nice and firm.
Linsen area also filled with them as well. The ones near the Station are rather ratty and run down, spend a few bucks and bang your girl in style.

Wild ThingAll hotels in Taipei are girl friendly. Go to a short time hotel or regualr hotel, no one bats an eyelid.
Never had an issue with anyone asking me who else I'm seeing etc. Taiwanese girls do comment if they see I have Filipina and Indonesia friends on some sites I'm on, but for me not an issue. They can like it or not.
Girls that start with expectations of drinks or dinner etc are off my list as I generally don't have time for that. Sometimes will have an "investment" meeting, whereby we meet, chat have coffee or drinks but thereafter if its not a hotel trip then its unlikely I will be meeting her. Even if not advertised, you can walk in and get a room essentially any time of the day or night. Bad news: I checked the Taipei Times and China Post for the last 4 days. There are no more ads for outcalls, and only a few ads for incall massage. I think there must be a policy shift recently that they are no longer allowed to advertise for outcall massages in newspapers. This means that we will have to get outcall numbers by word of mouth. The good news is that I discovered how outcalls work and how to best utilize them.
I've concluded that outcalls are the best bet in Taipei, compared to bathhouses, high end KTV, massage parlor etc. The reason is because it is much more discrete, allowing many girls who are 18-24 to do it without any of their friends knowing. Many of them plainly don't want to be seen working at KTV and the schedule is much more flexible for them at outcall. This means you can get a much hotter girl, for a lot less money. I agree that the KTV girls are pretty too, but you need to invest so much time, money, drinking, and interface with so many people, most of whom are ripping you off.
I have talked to a lot of the girls and found out that this is how it works: Most of the girls are students or working jobs, but live with parents. Because of this. 2pm – 8pm is the best time to call an outcall. The way the system in TPE works is that the girls are all independents. The usually work for 1-3 managers who will call them and tell them where the client is. These managers are typically NOT the people to deal with the clients. Those are usually Miss Ma, Yuki types (we'll call them 'Aunts') who coordinate between customers and the managers. The price can range from 3k-10k depending MORE on your negotiating ability than the quality of the girl. Its much better to try to get the phone of the managers directly because they are the people who have actually seen the girls, so you can explain what you want to them. I'm sure some of you have realized that using outcalls in TPE seems like they send random girls to you. This is because most of the 'aunts' have never seen any of the girls. In TPE, the girls keep half the money, the managers / aunts keep half. (raw deal.) A good way to test to see if you deal with a manager or aunt, is to ask your girl the name of her contact person. If its not the same name as the person you call, then you are not dealing with someone who sees the girls, and there is more chance you will not get what you want. (more middlemen= higher costs too.)
Outcalls in TPE differ than some other countries in that: 1) you get to reject the girls, and they will send you a new one, as many times as you want, no hard feelings. (I usually tip the girls I send back and give them an excuse such as 'you look too much like my sister. ') 2) there's no massage. 3) they generally pop you once and leave, regardless of time. They rarely give 2 pops.
I generally offer to pay 6k right away and tell them to send the hottest girl. I usually give an age and weight to narrow the range of girls they can send. Also, I usually reject the first one unless she is very hot. If you find a girl you like, you can ask her for her personal number and promise to not tell her manager and call her directly in the future. If the girl is very comfortable, ask her for the numbers to her managers. Managers typically change their numbers every 2 months, so the more you have, the less chance you will be left without a connection. I leave my email too, so they can email me of phone changes when I am not in tpe.
For outcalls, I spend on average 6k for girls 20-24 years old, probably 8. 5 overall looks. (setting 5. 0 as average.) At shining star and KTV, I end up spending 20k for the same quality girl, and its always a hassle haggling, binge drinking etc. (I'm in my 30's so binge drinking = feel shitty all day tomorrow.)
Lastly, I realize now that some hotels cater to outcalls. Waikoloa Hotels have nice interiors, and are very discrete. You tell the counter 'xio xi' meaning 'rest' and they give you a key with a room number. It costs $800 to have the room for 2 hours, and you pay cash when you leave. They don't ask for I'd. Heck, they don't even ask you your name. Free water, condoms, internet, towels, toiletries etc. I stayed at the Waikoloa (there are 5 hotels) overnight and watched the lobby. HOT girls going straight to the elevator every 3 minutes. I have yet to devise a way to approach them and get their numbers but I am trying to get the courage. Finding a way to do this would mean I could wait in the Waikoloa lobby, and discretely approach the girls I find attractive enough. (almost as good as fishbowls.) Too bad I'm chicken.

Second, it's easy to find and access. Bus or train gets you there in 30 mins. It's a short walk from the train station. Behind the railroad tracks is a four-to-eight block stretch of BBS and weird OK joints. You cannot miss it. Hence, the red lights.
It doesn't get cooking until 10 pm and onwards. They accept foreigner wangs. Saw some cuties and some gnargolyes. Be discriminating. Prices vary wildly. No matter what I think at least he does post unlike the many lurkers on this forum. This is a place to exchange information, so if it comes with a bit of chest thumping then I am happy to read and be jealous.

2k does seem to be a bit high, but iirc, it might be more pricey in the lanes farther away from the tracks. If you go into the alley right next to the tracks, it's 1k for FS. Unfortunately, in my experience, the quality in this area tends to be all over the place. Once in a while, you can find a nice provider for cheap there. I get a little nervous there as there are definitely neighborhood patrols that make rounds every 30 minutes or so.

If you don't want to read Freebie's posts, then don't. From my experience, what he posts is realistic and I have never read anything that he has posted here that made me question that it happened. let me know what you think, and i'll be sure to give a thorough report when the deed is done.my suggestion to you is to walk about one block north on fuxing road north to changchun road and turn right or west for a block to the delight hotel at432 changchung, songshan district. the last time i used it the prices were a little high at around 850 tw for 3 hours, but the rooms are clean and well stocked with towels & soap with clean bedding. the front desk staff were nice and greeted me with a smile as they know why you are there. worked out well for me. it's so wonderful to hear a knock on the door, look through the peep hole to see a cute young one and then open the door up to have a sweet honey greet you with a hug and kiss. best of luck to you.

I'm also a long-time listener, first time caller. I used to live down south, and I was highly active between Kaohsiung and Taichung, but I doubt I could provide much useful info about those places anymore. When I got transferred a couple years ago, things appeared to be changing. LE seemed to be getting more serious, and old reliable hotspots were gentrified.
In Taipei, I've been less active, partly because there are more 'legit' opportunities up here, and partly because it just hadn't seemed as fun here as it did down there. Part of the fun down there was the sense that I was off the beaten path and because there was no info about places, there was some adventure involved. Not that there's not adventure up here, but somehow it's just different.
Anyway, I decided to take another stab at the scene up here, and I thoroughly combed the kijiji listings for something promising. I had tried a few freelancers through there before, but they don't always look like their pictures (surprise) , and some of them are a bit batty. The last one wouldn't stop talking about Jesus and her church. And, she just talked loud in general. I was freezing my ass off, because she wouldn't turn the heat on, and I'd have walked out but she seemed just nuts enough to make a scene or something, so I just gritted my shivering teeth and endured it. In the course of her religious rantings, I told her I was Jewish (although I'm not) , and once I realized she didn't know anything about Jews (not even that Jesus was one) , I started making up all sorts of semi-believable nonsense about 'our' religious practices. Every third Thursday after a full moon you have to give your second cousin an ear of corn, or something like that. I finished up by telling her that unless she swallowed, I'd be living in sin, so it worked out relatively well, all considered.
Last night or the night before, I guess, I opted for a girl who looked mid-20s. The price was $2500, which I think implies a BJ, although I also get the sense that if she is especially attractive you might get nothing more than a HJ. Just my sense. So, I called the place up, and a dude answered, and I quickly realized that it was an agency. The choices were $2500 and $4500. I didn't really want to have a full course, but of course, I said $4500. Curiosity is expensive.
Had to take a taxi to the center of town and call when I arrived at an MRT stop in Zhongzheng, I think. I had no idea there were a bunch of KTVs and massage parlors down there. Just like down south. Anyway, I called the guy, and he asked me what I was wearing, and I started to hesitate a little, thinking it could be LE. But, the guy walked over about 5-10 mins later, and we went to their office. He told me they were kind of short girls that night, and that I'd have to wait an hour or so. He was very polite and friendly, and not in that BS way you encounter here sometimes. They asked me what kind of girl I wanted, which is not a question I got down south, and I didn't really know how to answer. I just said pretty, tall, and not fat. You know, use your judgment-that's what I was thinking, at least. Twenty minutes or so later, he said I might have to wait two hours, so I suggested just going the $2500 route (which he said was just a HJ) , and he said that would make things easier.
So, then we walked 20 mins maybe to somewhere. Brightly lit place with a guy sitting out front behind a lectern or whatever that thing is. On the way over, though, I talked to the facilitator of the evening's entertainments. He said that pretty much any massage parlor will provide some kind of service at least the second time around, as long as they know you, especially now that the new rules they operate under makes it a bit more difficult for them to get new customers. My impression, however, is that the govt are just trying to keep the scene relatively quiet, rather than shutting it down. He also said that KTVs are pretty much like the CKTVs down south, so there's plenty of fun to be had, but I'm a lone wolf and I don't drink much anymore, so I am tempted but not up for that.
Okay, so I went in to the place he took me to and down the stairs. 'Taike' sitting around the table drinking and chewing binlang and having a good ol' time in the corner of my eye. As we walked past the lobby and down a hall, it was lined with little rooms with bead shades (or whatever). I didn't look inside, but it seemed somewhat KTVish but without the TV and the racket, but they could have been mullahs and North Koreans assembling centrifuges for all I know. Walked past a couple of girls wearing little black dresses. Young, a little on the chubby side, but not repulsive or anything. They smiled and giggled, etc.
Then the massage rooms, or rooms with doors at least, and I got put into a massage room at the end of the hall. A sign in Chinese said, 'no sex in the champagne room' or something to that effect. I paid up front, changed into a robe and see-through underwear, which I am highly ambivalent about. There are many things I don't want to be caught doing. Wearing that underwear ranks pretty high up there. But, they're so damn sexy.
Then was the waiting. God knows what is going to come through that black door. I know those places keep at least one gargoyle on hand for customers that they don't want returning. Just being a foreigner is sometimes enough to wake that beast from her lair, but the knock on the door came, and it was a young (enough) woman who was thin and tall. Black tank-top, and a denim mini-skirt. The facilitator told me she spoke English, and I thought to myself, 'I've heard that before'. So, she came in, sat down on the bed, and I started talking. I don't know what I said, but then I politely raised the question of her English, not wanting her to lose face or anything. She said we could speak English if I wanted. I said sure.
I was shocked, because she was pretty damn close to fluent. She had lived in a couple places in India and Latin America with her family and came back after she graduated HS. Pretty stupid of me, but we ended up talking the whole time (one hour, although I assumed it would be two). There was a certain point in the conversation that I realized I wouldn't be able to go through with my original intent. I don't know if it was because of her English or because we seemed to be getting along so well or what. We just spooned and talked, and then I paid for another hour at the same rate. She suggested we grab something to eat after she got off work, but a few minutes later I guess she thought better of it and said that they were really busy, and gave me her number instead.
I walked out with a smile on my face, but it wasn't long until the shine had worn off and the blue balls had kicked in. It was 3 or 4am now, and I had a couple of numbers, but nobody answered. I didn't want to go to a spa, and I eventually settled for a big shiny massage parlor on Linsen that is long famous for not providing anything other than a massage. It was probably 5am by the time I went in there. And, it's not cheap. 2400NT. Somewhat shorter, chubbier, cute girl who was selected apparently because she could speak a smattering of English. About 70 mins in, I delicately raised the issue of a HJ. She said she was too buhaoyisi, so I let it rest. I managed to steer the conversation towards the topic of blue balls twenty minutes later, although she didn't know that that condition existed (or so she said) , and I don't know what the Chinese for that is. I got her to laugh and giggle, and I said,"Are you sure I can't get you to help out down there a little?" "Buhaoyisi, we don't do that." But, I sensed that there was some leeway there, so I asked if a supplement to the standard fee might make things easier for everyone involved. NT$300, and we were off. And, thank fucking god. I left happy, she seemed pretty happy and eager to take things further, I sensed. She mentioned that she lived just around the corner and how she had never been to a Western-style bar before and yada-yada-yada, but I wasn't really interested, and we parted ways on good terms.
So, that's my contribution to the debate about stories. Objectively speaking, I've had a lot better nights and a lot worse nights, but on the whole, that one was pretty satisfying. Just thought I'd share.

Had a couple of hours in the afternoon so I decided to go to Ceasars for a nice shower and poke. Got there at 3pm and the place was packed. Nearly every table had someone talking or napping. My favorite (and seems the forum's as well) number 67 was available so I got her. Surprising since the last 2 times I went at 7 am she was already occupied.
Turns out at around 2 or 3 they have the most girls. Morning shift ends at 4 but he noon shift starts at 1, so there are literally 30 girls, lots to choose from.
Anyways. 67 recognized me immediately and was extremely playful. Being her last customer probably helped and see really went to town on me giving me services which I am pretty sure is off the script, haha. Sex was great and left totally drained with an idiotic smile on my face.

Just thought I'd share.From a guy who has an interesting and varied life (which probably makes those with less interesting lives assume mine is a mix of reality and Hollywood) , thanks for sharing your interesting evenings activities.
