Since this lonely area doesn't yet have anything going on, I figure I'll start it out with a question -- does anyone know anything about longer-term lodging options in Chiang Mai that are clean, air-conditioned, secure? (And, of course, girl-friendly, though I'm presuming most will be in this area.) I'm looking to make the area kind of a home base on my trip this fall, and will be looking to rent on a montly basis (at least two and possibly three months.) I'm not terribly worried about price, as the most expensive things I see are still ridiculously cheap; I'm more after the right kind of place, something I can basically make my home, and with decent facilities -- a pool and gym would be a plus. A two-bedroom apartment would be ideal, or some kind of suite with kitchen facilities.

I've found some options at http://www.chiangmai-online.com, but I really don't know anything about those options other than that. Anybody have any experience or contacts they can offer?

Joe_zop,
I have no first hand experience in Thailand,- doing my research as well on a trip to Thailand later this year.
There is a pay site called www.zenbuckaroo.com where great information on Thailand can be had. Zen lives in Chaing Mai and has numerous articles on the "fun" and accomodations in Chaing Mai. It is not as dead as one would think, but by no means like Bangkok, according to reports on that site.
It is a very low fee for three months membership considering the value of information on Thailand and other asian spots presented.
Zen will answer all your questions for you if you become a member. Strongly recommend it.
THanks

Hi joe_zop,
Having never been to LOS, I know You are much more informed about Thailand than I.
That being said, I hesitated joining Zen's site for about a year, then last year I decided, what the hell, I gotta go to Thailand soon and I need to know more about it in detail. THe site presents itself better than other sites and maybe it isn't a rip off....So I joined. Unfortunately shortly after joining, my mother got cancer and well, you know, I had things to take care of here at home and could not venture to LOS. I am planning on going over this year and in prep, rejoined Zen's site since the information was/is extremely useful (for me being a novice). The link is www.zenbuckaroo.com .
Perhaps you may find the "free pages" helpful, as I know I did.
Good Luck!

I don't disagree with your approach, and I did some similar scouting around the first time I went over, which is my approach any time I go anywhere new. I've just found that the information here and in other sites (it's pretty easy to get a pile of Thailand scene bookmarks) are very good, especially since Thailand is an extremely tourist-friendly place, and info is all over the net. I found most of the info on the zenbuckaroo free pages pretty much the same as I've seen elsewhere, which is why I hesitated shelling out any money. All the stops mentioned are pretty much the basic ones that everyone knows about, and there's info about them in various places. I wasn't in any way implying the site is a ripoff, and it sounds the opposite, since you've rejoined it and are still happy with it, which implies things have been updated. The bottom line is that thirty bucks is not all that much (pretty much what I paid last trip for a night in a suite) and if it saves you hassle then it's worth it. I just travel a lot, and rather enjoy the online research side of things, so I'm pretty used to tracking things down myself. But keep in mind that there are a great bunch of knowledgeable guys here and on some of the other sites, and tons of good info in the archives.

So, have you figured out your itinerary yet? I'd be happy to share any bookmarks I've got for places you're looking to go.

I don't know how much travel you''ve done, so forgive me if I'm stating something you alread know, but I'll give you one piece of advice. I'm always amazed by when watching people travel, both in Thailand and elsewhere, how careless and open they are with their wallets. Particularly Americans. You've got to be careful, particularly in crowded places, as there are some very good and aggressive pickpockets out there, and what you're carrying can be months and months worth of money for them. On Sukhimvit in Bangkok I once had a katooey get some cash out of my front pants pocket during a five second attempt at hustling me, while I was brushing him/her off. The only other time in my life I've had someone pick my pocket, though it's been tried a number of times, was once in Times Square, and I wasn't paying attention and deserved it.

Personally, when travelling in the third world, I never carry a standard wallet. I carry any credit cards or passport stuff or excess money in something beneath my shirt or around my waist or strapped to my ankle, and I carry walking cash in two pockets, in front, and at least one of which buttons or zips. That way if you're ripped off or picked you only lose an affordable amount. And I leave any more money than I'm going to need in a safe at my hotel. If nothing else, this can also make for some nice bargaining equity with vendors, as you can pull out your sorry wad of walk-around cash (presuming that's the case) as a way of getting into a take-it or leave-it transaction. That can be useful in places like Chiang Mai's night market (just to end up back on topic :-)

Thanks again for the feedback and the site!

Hey Freeler, thanks for the alert that Zen's site has an open gate. I'll be sure to e-mail him and he'll fix the problem.

I hung out with Zen in Northern Thailand in 2000. He is a world-class pussy hound who knows a lot of places. I think he basically lives to fuck. He speaks Thai and his favorite haunts are Chiang Mai, Bangkok and Phnom Penh.

His specialty is paying the least amount of $$\baht to get laid. This didn't really appeal to me, as I will pay $200 for an orgy in a karaoke joint b/c I like quality. Zen goe straight for the bargains. Needless to say, his favorite zone is K-11.

Joe Zop

Glad to hear it, MondaysChilde -- I've got no problem with people making money offering the wisdom of their experience, and Zen's got a nice site; I wish him the best.

I'm more or less with you -- while I'm not interested in radically overpaying, my sympathies are with those TGs trying to make a living, and I feel no need to bargain for every last baht. I'm more into a quality evperience than issues of quantity or price, and I'd rather both parties be happy in all aspects :-) The cheap and fairly sordid scenes such as K-11 hold no great appeal to me -- been there and done that.

But Freeler's right -- it *is* pretty simple to figure out how to get into Zen's site. After seeing his message, I took one obvious shot and was in. So it would behoove him to repair that.

I would like to explain a bit about my site. First: The site on a good month breaks even...at best. I am not talking about the money spent on research etc. just to maintain it...servers...etc.
It was NEVER my intention to make money from it and I don't ...except on the rare occasion when I do a video for armchair travelers. I was a former photographer of nudes for the Men's magazines and now earn a modest living (here in Jomtien where I am now residing) selling my slides to collectors on ebay.
I cannot afford to set up the cgi scripts that would be needed to protect from amateur hackers. YES, I am aware that the site is easy to crack. Hopefully the persons who do so are decent enough as the ones speaking here not to pass around the info. If my bandwidth would get tooo high I would have to shut down.
It is not really much of a sex traveler site...It is just a bit of advice on how one can travel throughout SEAsia seeing manysites and find a local native girl to keep him warm at nights. To do this Buckaroos need to have brass balls (former Viet Vets like myself have no problem with this). In many places one has to acquire tastes for some very ethnic (euphemism for ugly) looking women.
The site is a hobby and a chance for me to find likewise MEN who share the same philosophy that I do. Many find my philosophy not to their liking and reject it. No problem from me. FEW know that I was the first to start reports on Cambodia and Svay Pak in 1993. The word is out and there are so many tourists (damn place has gotten just too safe for me) that I really donot enjoy it much. I am discovering some new areas that will not be posted....
long time Buckaroos who understand the philosophy will find them though. By doing the adventures that I will soon be recommending, they will find new treasures like Svay Pak...but there will be many places that will not suit the average guy. REAL Buckaroos do not mind if a place does not have the most beautiful women, because they go for the adventure. and they willcontinue trying my little jaunts. Others will find them a wild goose chase and give up before the real treasures are revealed. Smart readers will probably learn more about the posters here than about my site. In any case I do thank the Buckaroos who patronize the site with their dues for membership. Long time Buckaroos realize that they are often rewarded with things I do that far outweigh the costs of their small member fees.
For all of you, whether you are a member of Zen's Buckaroos or not I wish the best of traveling for great adventures and hope you keep smart and remain safe.

a bit of a post script...
guys who can afford pussy at $200 a shot do not need a guide, web site or anything. And I have no hard feelings about them (I love rich guys...too bad I am not one). I do try to help the poorer working class type guys have a good time...
PPS...I do like posting to different sites and glad one of my buckaroos turned me onto this one. the people at ********** suck...after 350 postings and writing numerous articles...they decided to pull my banner...guess I wasnt' bending over far enough for them to b*tt f**k me
anyway...I shall return here to offer what little knowledge I can...
and hopefully find some like minds

Welcome, Zen, and again congrats on your site. I wish I could manage to get my hobbies to pay for themselves! Places like yours and this one are truly invaluable to new travelers -- I know that I've learned tons about various places I've visited, and was thrilled to see Jackson revive things here, as the old WSG was invaluable when I was a newbie.

I understand what you mean about rich guys; I'm far from one, but I'm not completely a bargain hunter either. Nice and easy, that's me :-)

If you'd like a couple of extremely simple and cheap suggestions on protecting your site just let me know, as it's pretty easy to put some basic stuff up that will keep out all but the truly determined.

By the way, that karaoke place in Chiang Mai was pretty lurid...the mamasan had all her girls doing "love pills" (ecstasy) and the place just oozed decadent sex like some chinatown opium den trip...Zen you remember that night...after that experience I went and did the mamasan at one of the clubs along the east canal (blech!).

My new wife knows how I am, and I look forward to posting on some China stops in the future.

Z -- there's one at the Physical Education College, which I would presume would fit your specs, and I'd imagine the Suan Dok Swimming Pools, since they're so named, would have to be something more than wading pools, but I've not seen either of them myself.

I've been by the Imperial Mae Ping and had a drink at their bar but never stayed there. More than nice enough from my look at it, looked better than the place I was staying nearby (the Suriwongse Zenith) and certainly galaxies above the Nana class. Seems to me from my previous reading on this stuff (which was about a year ago) that they also had some sorts of golf packages available...

The Imperial Mae Ping is a big tourist hotel. Seems like a big place for the tour bus crowd. But for my money I prefer the Chiang Mai Plaza

Freeler/any others!,
Considering heading up to Chiangmai, Chiangrai and Mae Sai for the upcoming holiday. Question is this. Any ideas on where to stay in Chiangrai/nightlife(must a freelancer/disco spot somewhere?) and same with Mae Sai. I read somewhere that Mae Sai has some "cough cough" places to go and see.......anyone ever headed up that way before and can give me some friendly advice? How about you Zelda? You seem to be
"in the know"....Thanks in advance....

Chikan -- two main areas for you to consider, either in the Night Market area, where there are a fair number of beer bars and a variety of clubs, or in the Tha Phrae Gate area, which is where the two main go-go places and lots of bars are along Loi Kroh near the old city. http://www.chiangmai-online.com/ will give you a good list, and you can use their hotel discounter to search by area, rate, quality, etc.

This map is also pretty useful to help figure stuff out: http://www.xtremetravel.net/members/Shasta/cm/cm_map.html

Freeler/joe_zop,
You guys are quick! Thanks alot for the info. I think I've nailed down a hotel in Chiangmai -Diamond Riverside? You think ok? Seems nice at 700B night...we'll see upon arrival if I pick it. In Chiangrai, I'm not sure where I'm staying.....hotel listings on the web are few(time to look some up in LP?)...and I can't find too much on Mae Sai either...but your advice is duly noted! I think I'm ditching my plans for Phuket/Phi Phi... the north seems more inticing for some reason....I'm going to take a bus from Chiangmai (7 days)to Chiangrai...stay a day or 2 then venture to Mae Sai by bus......I think that's do-able...I'll let you guys know when I'm on the ground. Should I take a bus from BKK to Chiangmai or train it? Should be an interesting trip...any other info that you think of, feel free to let me know. Drop me an e-mail if you don't want to take up space on the board.

Yeah, definitely avoid the BKK-CM bus, if you can. The overnight train is really pretty nice, though if you're tall like me you might have a hard time with the sleeper beds. I didn't really sleep at all but still enjoyed the trip. Flying's not too bad, in terms of price, either, of course -- 2200baht or so, if I remember correctly. I found far less backpackers (and thereby, as Freeler notes, ripoff artists) in first class, but up to you. Not a huge amount of difference, really.

Diamond Riverside looked like a nice place when I walked past it -- never went inside, so please let me know what you think of it, as it's one of the ones I've been considering for the first night or so of my next trip there. It's nice to have the river there; you're close to the night market (and not too far from the Sayuri massage complex, if you're so inclined.)

Sounds like a nice little trip -- be sure to let us all know how it goes!

joe_zop/Freeler,
I hate to keep repeating myself, but I really do appreciate the advice/maps etc...that you're providing me with.
Freeler: Sorry about the LP mention.....that's why you guys are here! haha....will not buy it or mention it again! :) 2nd class train it is, should be a nice trip and a way to see Thailand a bit more than flying would.
joe_zop: just out of curiousity how much is the train ticket (approx) from Bkk to CM? I can look it up..just wondering...I'll definately let you guys know how everything goes (D.Riverside) when I get there.
I'm really looking forward to it...play some golf (even though I suck), visit the MP's....(yes Sayuri sounds great!)..etc...Originally I was planning on visiting Phuket/Phi Phi...but I think CM and beyond would be nice to see and easier to do. Thanks again!

Joe Zop
07-17-02, 12:36
If I remember correctly, 2nd class tickets are in the 800baht range, and first class half again as much. There's also an Express train, which I've never taken, that is faster and somewhat cheaper, but that doesn't have sleeper conmpartments or beds, just seats. (I never really saw the advantage of arriving at 7am as opposed to 9am.)

Just so you know -- while you'll see a bit more of Thailand this way, mostly you'll see it near the two cities, as the major portion of the countryside passes by in the dark. I think you actually get more scenery inside the train than outside ;)

Nothing wrong with Phuket/Phi Phi -- it's gorgeous there, and the ocean/beach scene is great, but the north has its own unique character as well. Can't really go wrong either way.

Joe Zop
07-17-02, 16:43
Thanks for the correction, Freeler. My brain was telling me that those prices had to be wrong, because flights were only a small bit more, but those numbers were somehow stuck in my head. (Should've just checked some of my bookmarks.)

Have you done the day train? If you really want to look at scenery that would seem the way to go.

Chikan
07-17-02, 18:24
Freeler/joe_zop,
3rd class it is. It's cheap, and Lampang doesn't seem "too" far from CM. Do you suggest I buy the ticket right away in BKK or just check out of the hotel early (6am)and head to the train station and wing it? Could I take a bus there(in Lampang) right away upon arrival to CM or do I have to wait the next day? Yes, I want to get there "laew laew" hahaha...I'm learning Thai now. :) Gotta hit the golf course!
I'm still waiting for the D. Riverside to e-mail me back regarding if it's "g. friendly" or not and a weekly rate....Cheers all!

Joe Zop
07-17-02, 18:58
Freeler -- regarding your comment on track work, do you know how long that's going to be going on? Any idea what kind of delays you're talking about on slow trains? (Just thinking about my trip over this fall, though I may just choose to fly up in any event.) And I'd presume that even though they only give you a cookie and juice there are still the usual vendors wandering up and down the aisles, too, in case you want something else.

Also, the schedule I was looking at (http://www.traveller2000.com/train/Northern_line.pdf) has Rap 101 going all the way to Chiang Mai, arriving at 2030. Has that changed?

Chikan, there are other options than ending up in Lampang and catching a bus. Unless, of course, you do this because you want to spend some time in Lampang, which is of course an option. As Freeler notes, RAP 9, which leaves at 0825, gets to to Chiang Mai at 1920, and then there are the overnights as well. And I'd get my tickets in advance as opposed to waiting -- some of the trains get quite crowded.

Looks like it's time for me to update my bookmarks -- thanks for the link. (Easier than a PDF file, as well.) Your story is a good example of the "This it Thailand" scenario; I had a similar experience with the Koh Samui ferries. For those of us in the west, this kind of thing can be maddening, but it's pretty normal there. Gotta get in the proper mood, Chikan :) and just let it happen how it's going to happen. That's one of the reasons I think the night trains are the way to go if you're not going to fly -- you've got the possibility of just sleeping through the delays as opposed to sitting there wondering if you're ever going to move.

Bring a good book!

joe_zop/freeler,
Yeah, I'm gonna go with the flow and just get an over-nighter or whatever is available I think....save on hotel for one night and just chill out and take it easy. In the past I've seen some pretty rude and arrogant "farangs" that swear and just plain loose it at the Thai's and it embarrases me. I'm on holiday for 1 month, so what's a few hours delay or something? I'll bring some reading material for sure and watch my stuff for the "cheapo" "farangs" (everytime I say that I think of "Farangies" on star trek)haha....hmmmmm that's about it. Talk to ya guys later!

Chiang Mai, Phuket, Bangkok and Phuket and over run by ladyboys and it gets worse each year. I guess there are so many woman getting paid that they decided to try and join the games. From my experience and lady that tries to pick you up on a motorbike in Chiang Mai is/was a man. Chiang Mai has a few outdoor bars, 2-3 indoor go go bars and 5 massage parlors that give you the type of massage you really want. You can also try picking up a chick at the disco. The last choice (god help you) is a Karoke bar.

TRIP REPORT (Sept 02)
Ok....where was I? Oh yeah...I'm looking for my seat, and I pass the 2nd class w/sleeper car going, "ooohh, that looks nice..I wonder what mine looks like?" and then I see it (at the rear of the train). 3rd class.......HARD bench seat, squished in with 4 people - this was going to be a long, hard night. The whole trip was spent listening to hawkers trying to sell all kinds of stuff, at ALL hours of the morning. I think even the Thai's were getting pissed off because you couldn't get any sleep! Anyways, if anyone cares.......3rd class sucks the big one! So, splurge and go for 2nd class or higher. I wanted to see what 161 B would give me and now I know - a sore ass for 4 days (no shit). Anyways, near the end of the ride (the 13th hour), the scenery was quite nice and when we hit the train station in CM, I was quite relieved. I tried to phone "Lai Thai" guesthouse, but of course, I couldn't figure out the damm phones, and it wouldn't work (and no-one else could help either). Succumbed to a "Tuk-tuk" driver who seemed ok (had a bunch of referal's in his binder from people) "bob- I think his name was"? and he took me to Lai-Thai w/o any commission of any other of that bullshit. Checked out the room.....of course, the internet pic's look better (what else is new),..but for 590B, it was ok. Then I tried sleeping there. I was on the 2nd floor, 2 rooms from a maid station.....and every morning the phone would ring at the maid station, the maids would be talking and laughing so close, all around the rooms! Sleep.......forget it! The rate dropped to 490B from Sept 1st onwards which was nice....but sleep is important and I checked out of there after 5 days to the downtown inn which was 700B and was WAY BETTER.
Anyways, had a nap and woke up around 11:30pm. Found "nice illusion" disco which was a good walk away and had a beer, checking out the scene. I met a bunch of probation officers who were in CM for a training course, so they drank and danced with me and I had a good time until the mandatory closing of 2am(Didn't want to fool around with any of them!). At 2am, I started to walk the street back to the hotel (but not really wanting to yet) and a car pulled up just ahead of me. 2 good looking women got out and one of them said, "hey where you go, come have a drink with us!". Who was I to say no to that? I followed them to a late night drinking place close by called "Spicy" (forget directions...no idea) and we sat down and ate Thai food (nice and spicey) and had drinks. While there, we met another Thai girl (who was a die hard bar girl) and a guy from the middle east who was her friend(not fucky fucky..just friend). We all sat together and drank and ate and had a great time until 6:30am! Wow.....I stumbled back to the guesthouse and all the receptionist's were giggling and talking. Anyways, next day, met up with them all again and had some good times. The 2 girls I met were NOT bar girls, and just reg. girls out to have fun and to meet their friend. To make a long story short, my newly acquired friend (from the middle east) me and both girls hit it off and we saw them almost every night. We hit bubbles disco (which is quite the meat market)(Close to Porn Ping Hotel), the Thai disco next door (that was cool), and went to an area called "ChaingMai Land" and a disco there called "Bossy". Holy shit......you should've seen the girls at "bossy"!(Real Thai place...careful with the guys....) It was funny because all 3 of them went to the can at the same time, and I was guarding all the drinks, when a Thai chick came up to me and started talking with me (where you from, you come alone, you handsome man...blah blah blah) and then my little "partner" comes around the corner...... The Thai girl goes, "thai language - boyfriend?" and she just nods her little head and the other girl took off like a bat out of hell! These girls get INTENSELY jealous, even if you're just dancing with them! Be forewarned!!!!!!!! They can get quite jealous and possesive....
Anyways, long story short. I liked CM a lot. And yes, I'm going back. I made some good friends over there and we keep in touch now. Lots of memories of getting hammered, going to disco's, picking up chicks, and generally having a great time. It's cleaner, more friendly and s-l-o-w-e-r than BKK/Pattaya which is better for me. I don't like it when girls are always grabbing at you, screaming, "hello handsome man......blah blah blah" - kind of embarrassing/annoying for me anyways(and no I'm not an old man...only 32). Like adleZ said about Korat, if you want tons of girls, and sleaze forget CM. If you don't mind the laid back approach - then try CM. Oh yeah, I tried the Pandora massage place too and it was 1700B and the girl couldn't speak a word of English......but she was cute though. Those massage places are addicting! Didn't goto Sayuri though.....should've(cheaper at 900B) - I just didn't have time. Oh yeah, I took a day trip to ChiangRai - Golden Triangle - Mae Sai and that was good. Anyone going to CM should do it. It's about 750B for the day, and it's well worth it. The border was closed when I went, but that's ok, close enough.
That's it. 2 weeks flew by and the next time will be in June for about 1 month. On the return leg I flew from CM to BKK which was great! Very quick and comfy. Hope the report was ok. Take care everyone and cover your willy's!

Great report, Chikan, you've made me remember part of why I like Chiang Mai so much. I can hardly wait to get back there -- the time for which is fast approaching! Can you tell me a bit about the Downtown Inn? It's one of the places I've been considering for a couple of nights until I get settled in for a monthly rate at one of the places I'm considering.

Thanks for the warning on 3rd class, though I'll say that for me I found it pretty hard to get any rest in 2nd class either, as I'm too tall for the sleepers and it was still pretty noisy with vendors. I also got stuck in an upper which is decidedly not the way to go -- a bit cramped toward the ceiling and the air con blowers. Certainly not a literal pain in the behind like 3rd class, though. I think I'll just spring for 1st class and be done with it -- not worth losing a night's sleep for less than ten bucks.

Freeler, my friend in Chiang Mai says the border at Mai Sai's been closed off and on for a while because of the tension between the two countries, which is unfortunate because it's the place nearest Chiang Mai to do a visa run. It's been mostly closed the last six months, from what I understand. He expects it to open up again any time now, and assures me all will be back to normal by the time I come there in November, but TIT so who knows.

Chikan
09-17-02, 21:12
Freeler/joe_zop,
Thanks for the feedback. joe's right about the border at mae sai...political wrangling between the 2 countries made the border closed - not sure when it'll open again. I could go as far as the gate at the Burmese side of the bridge and that was it - didn't want to risk getting shot climbing the gate!
The train was an experience indeed. The sort that I'm glad I did, but wouldn't again I think.....flying is way better. Out of curiousity, how much is 1st class and is it really much faster? I remember Freeler mentioning a super express or something like that leaves early am in BKK and gets to CM like 8:50pm or something same day.
joe_zop, the Downtown Inn is quite good for the money. My friend from Kuwait was staying there, and when I saw his room I thought "what the hell am I doing at Lai-Thai"? It's got a nice big room, mini bar, etc....excellent location (on Loi Kroy Rd) which is where Starbucks/McDonalds is (you know, the new complex on the corner). Staff were good and the important thing is that it was nice and QUIET....gotta have quiet to sleeeeeeeeeep. Try it for 1 night and see. Don't book on the net, the prices I've seen are 800-900 B which is bullshit, I paid 700B. Let me know what you think.

I'm figuring on flying up to Chiang Mai the first time, but I'll also be shuttling back to and from Bangkok a couple of weeks later and I'll probably then do the train/bus route to and from, with, ahem, various stops along the way. My initial arrival time is late enough that there are no more planes to Chiang Mai and the trains are all gone, so I'm just going to spend a couple of days in Bangkok first, since I've got to stay at least one night anyway.

Chikan, I take it you were in the standard room as a single for that price, right? There are several sites which list those at 690low/720high season, and it's worth keeping in mind that lots of the sites that list that 800 rate are including VAT, which is another 17%, so it works out about the same.

I remember when I was scouting around about a year ago that the Downtown Inn also had monthly rates, but I've not been able to find them any more. Do you know if they still do that? The prices were really very good -- something like 6-8000 baht for a two-bedroom, which would decidedly do me, as I do like that whole area there with the markets beer bars and river, not to mention close to Sayuri. (Very nice internet cafes in walking distance, too.) Just a block or two away from where I stayed last time, also on Loi Kroh.

Since you were right there, did you ever stop in the Bunny Club? I'm curious to know what's that like now, as I'd heard the owner (a German guy) died but it was still going.

And Freeler -- define "too damn cold" if you would. I thought you were from nothern climes :) I found 2nd class air kinda hot and stuffy overall.

joe_zop,
Yeah, it was a standard room which was good enough for me. I paid 700B all inclusive(with free breaky from 6am-10am)....and I don't know the monthly rate but if you do find out, let me know please - curious to see what it is. Didn't go into BunnyClub but walked by it enough in the daytime....

Freeler, I hear you -- but the night train I travelled on decidedly wasn't cool in aircon second class at any point in the journey. Guess I'll get another look at it all this trip :)

Chikan -- that was an in-the-door rate? That's very good. What were the standard rooms like in terms of size and so forth? Last time in Chiang Mai I was at the Zenith right near there, low season, and I was paying 1100 all inclusive for a small suite (though that was after negotiating quite a bit and multiple nights.) It's possible I'll stay there again, as I liked it, but I did like the look of the Downtown Inn as well -- a bit more downscale and laid back, from the look of things. It might be that they've gotten popular enough that they don't do the monthly rates anymore -- I've sent off an email enquiring...

Thanks, Mega -- have you actually stayed there? The Buarawong is definitely one of the places I'm going to look at -- their monthly prices go from 4000-6000 baht for monthly air! However, I corresponded with someone who stayed there and he gave a rather mixed review. Same same with the CM Apartments, which are right in the heart of things on Soi 7; same general price range, mixed review depending on who I talk to. The Galore Thong Tower is in that area with the Buarawong, from 6000-11000 baht/mo., with the latter being for a large two-bedroom. I'm strongly considering the P.T. Place, which is over by the university, as that looks really nice -- anywhere from 6000-25000 baht, with the one I'm considering at 11500/mo. Gym, laundry, email access, etc. I don't really know that area at all, but since I'm probably going to rent a scooter anyway the location slightly away from the action shouldn't be an issue, though I'd rather find something within walking distance of things.

Any first-hand info on any of these places (or any other long-term places) would be much appreciated. Basically, I'm up for any place I can manage for under about 12000 baht for the month, which should give a fair amount of options, and I'm not really looking to be in a guest house.

joe_zop,

I didn't actually stay there ( Buarawong) but I had seen their room. Think just undergo renovation. It is better than Chiang Mai Gate and Traveller's Inn.

http://www.laithai.com/html/rooms.html this one is a bit noisy.
http://www.thai.net/homeplace/ I didn't stay in this one.

You can request to have them bring u see the room before you make any decision that is when you arrived in CM.

Yes, that's why I'm avoiding booking a longer-term place in advance and just staying in a hotel for the first day or two. If it's going to be somewhere I'm going to spend a couple of months I don't want to commit sight-unseen. Right now I'm just doing my research, asking questions of the various places, and settling on a menu of places to check. I've got a friend with a car in CM and once I'm there we'll just run through the places and I'll decide.

Good to hear that the Buarawong has undergone renovation. I do like their location and price :)

joe_zop,
When are you going back to CM? Just asking because next time I go back (June 03), I'll be going for 1 month or 1.5 months, so I'll need to have long term accomidation set up too. Looking forward to your reports about where-ever you stay/go. The rooms at the Downtown Inn were quite large (for standard), and had a mini bar, touch-tone phone (lai thai uses rotary--ughhh!), and a nice big double bed. I'd like to know if they have a monthly rate....so when you're "on the ground"....find out and post. Thx!

Chikan -- I'm heading to Thailand the first of November, and expect to arrive in Chiang Mai on about the 5th or so. I'm staying in LOS until mid-January, and while I plan to move around (am also planning on a side to Cambodia at least, maybe others) I'm establishing a base in CM that will be my touchstone, somewhere I can leave stuff like my laptop when I'm moving around, and it's cheaper and easier just to get something for the entire stretch.

Thanks a lot for your posts and help and I'll definitely be posting info and reports as I get them, though don't expect a nonstop boff-a-thon a la Skinless :)

Hi!

I need some advise and help. I will, after a few nights in Bangkok, take a night bus up to Chiang Mai to do some trekking for 2-3 days. I have never done this before so I do not know how it works. But lets say I arrive in the morning and find myself a room for the following nights and go out for trekking the next day. I would like to go out in the evening the first night and I need some help where to go. I just want to find a nice, calm bar where I can have a beer or two and maybe some food. And I want girls there, but not the hard-core-no-heart-hallo-handsome-man-type. I want to choose myself when I feel like it. I will try to find someone for the night but also someone I can find after I come back from the trekking for a couple of more nights and some guideing of the town in the daytime.

Ok, so where do I go out? Any advice? Perhaps even some advice on good cheap hotels and which company to go out trekking with?

Swedtraveller -- sorry, I missed your message before this, so it's very possible this comes too late; my apologies if that's the case. I arrived in Chiang Mai yesterday and in general you'll have no trouble finding what you like -- the scene here is far more laid back than in Bangkok. Not too much "hello hansum man" and even that which goes on is far less pressuring and hard core. You can find beer bars with food and women along Loi Kroh near the moat, or a bunch of them around the Night Market, among other places. I spent last evening first at one of the Night Market places -- there's a slew just off Soi 1 there, and a bunch of food places all around the market -- where I like talking to the owner, (talked about her first trip outside LOS to the Netherlands, and her upcoming return there) and then later at the Bunny Club, which is further down Loi Kroh toward the river, just past the Downtown Inn. That's where I'm staying right now (out apartment hunting today) and I find the rooms underwhelming, but ok enough. I'm paying 800b per night, and after seeing it I think it should go for a couple hundred less, but it's very popular with the trekking crowd and among those from Europe in particular, it seems. You might be able to find some trekking companions there, but honestly there's tons of folks wandering around right now before they head out, so if you're reasonably friendly and talkative you should have no problem locating someone to go with.

If you want to give me your definition of "cheap hotels" I can probably give more help, but also check out http://www.chiangmai-online.com/accomm.html, which has a good list.

When in Chiang Mai, I stay at the Empress Hotel. It is conveniently located next to the Night Bazaar and half of the rooms have a river view. The hotel has everything one needs (including a big swimming pool). The rooms are not fantastic, but they are large, clean and comfortable. It is excellent value for money (there is a discount rate at 28 USD currently on the web). I paid 900 bahts incl. bfst last time, walk-in price.

joe_zop,
Just wondering if you've checked out the "PT Place ChiangMai" (advertised on "chiangmai on-line"). It looks quite nice on the web-site (don't they all?) Let me know if you can because it looks like I'll be going there for 2-3 (up from the 1 month) from either April - June or May to July???? Thanks and "happy trails"!

Well, I called there and they were all sold out. It was the one at the top of my list, as their facilities really do look to be exceptional, but I guess everyone else can see that online as well :) Actually, all of the ones that have decent info online were booked up -- was quite a trek for me to actually find an apartment at this time. I figured I wanted to see the place before I rented, so I didn't make a reservation, and that meant being the high season that many were gone. You should have considerably less of a problem in April/May.

Nice part about the Traveller Inn is it's nicely located, but I agree about it's general state.

Did a bit of wandering around so far, and tonight am heading to the Spotlight -- there's a new girl who's long, lanky and energetic. 23-years old and gorgeous. I made to mistake of not barfining her the first time I met her because it was late and I was rather tired (I've been doing a lot of walking here, and I'm not used to that amount) and she was gone the next time I checked in, so I don't think I'm going to miss my chance again. Overall, the scene's pretty much as I remember it -- more laid back than Bangkok, though it seems ever-so-slightly more aggressive than the last time I was here.

Hi joe_zop (and everyone else)

Thanks for your advice. No, you are not to late. It's me who is really, really early to get some advice. I didn't know what kind of response I would get on this site so I thought I would ask around well before I go. I will not arrive in Bangkok until 30 of January. Sorry I didn't write that too. Anyway, your advice is as useful for me now as it would have been later. And thanks for the link with accomodations.

About "cheap hotels". I guess I just want good value for money (like everyone else). Let's say a simple, clean room with my own toilet and shower and AC for about 600b per night.

I will be on a bit of a tight schedule on my holiday. I arrive in Bangkok on 30 of January and I will leave for Hanoi from Bangkok on the 10 of February. And between that I will try to do some trekking in the Chiang Mai area. Perhaps that is why out asking around already. And since I have never been to Chiang Mai before, I want to avoid the biggest traps I can fall into. So are there any special hotel areas to avoid, or perhaps areas to choose, in the city? Is it perhaps a good idea to make a hotel reservation at some tourist information place already in Bangkok?

How is it going with your apartment hunting? Are you staying a long time?

I wish I could give you some advice back, but my experience from Thailand is limited to Bangkok and Karon Beach on Phuket.

Until next time (in about a week), swedtraveller

Glad it was still of use -- there's usually a fairly quick reply rate in the Thailand sections of this board, but you're approach is smart as it never hurts to do some advance research. I suggest you spend some time reading both the current areas and the archives, as both have some useful info, and then go from there.

You should have absolutely no problem finding what you want in that price range, particularly if you want to go the guesthouse route -- smaller, more casual, not as many amenities, a bit more funky (and often with more charm.)

Things to avoid, hmm, really this is a pretty laid-back area, and it's possible to find good deals either by looking in advance or by coming in and looking around. Not too much to worry about, really, just make sure you shop around a bit. Since you're on a tight schedule I'd probably opt for the former. It's probably just as good to use the net as a travel agent from Bangkok, as then you'll probably be dealing with a travel agent based in CM. As far as areas, as a new visitor I'd imagine you want to stay either on the east side of the city near the night market (which is truly an interesting and eminently repeatable experience -- tonight I had some absolutely marvelous Pad Thai from a steet vendor there for 20 baht) or on the east side of the old city, which is the other main area where the night action is. But either way it's only a couple of kilometers, and you can either take a tuk-tuk (much less crazy than BKK) or hoof it. I've been doing both, depending on mood.

And yes, I managed to track down an apartment for now. Only problem is I can only stay here for five weeks, and then have to find something else, as a long-term renter is coming in. But it's huge, and costs me 7000baht for the month plus a quarter that for the extra week, and a bit more for utilities and phone. So I'm essentially paying under 250baht a night, and you can't beat that, especially for a large place of my own with once-a-week maid service and a great view of both Doi Suthep and the river from my balcony, with the river really close, a Wat across the street, and the night market area within walking distance.

I'm in LOS until mid-January and while I'll be moving around a little bit, I'm making CM my base, so I do like it and suspect you will as well, especially if you're into trekking.

And don't worry about giving info back at this point -- just have a good time and share what you learn later! That's what makes this board tick, and I've certainly benefitted immensely from other folks by doing exactly what you are doing now.

Swedtraveller,

It seems you already bought your BKK-Hanoi ticket, but did you know there are direct buses from Vientiene (Laos) to Hanoi?

Trekking often turns out in a monkey viewing contest at the villages, trekkers getting high on God knows what and then you go back...
In CM there are as many travelagents as there are bars in Pattaya, you will have to trust your own judgement and/or VERY recent (as in: today!) reports in finding the right one.
In a town like Pai, 4hrs by bus from CM Arcade busstation, guides will take you into the forest for a day, just you and him, for B300 or so.
On the bus to Pai, no doubt, you will meet members of at least three or four different tribes.
For long treks, better go to (stay in?) Scandinavia. Safer and better fishing too!

On the guesthouses. What makes the buses from BKK to CM unsafe is not the driver, not the Thai people on the busstations, but your fellow white cheapo traveller who doesn't know shit! The same dude that will be in your guesthouse. Just don't go that route.
Joe_zop is absolutely right in saying that there are B600 A/C hotels plenty. All of them are safe. In fact, of the 100+ hotels I've been to in LOS, I thought that perhaps one or two were not safe and left for that reason.
Believe it or not: rooms in Thailand are always clean. If not, have it cleaned, or go to the place next door.
All over Thailand you can find clean, safe A/C rooms for B300+ or fan for B150+.

Whatever you do: Trevlig resa!

joe_zop,
Tell us more about your adventures......I'm most curious about the clubs you've been to etc.......chicks you've met etc...what you like and don't like about CM. Aren't those Tuk-tuk drivers on Loi-kroi Rd (by McDonalds in Night Market) annoying?! Ahhhh. Check out the gun club in ChiangMai too.....let me know if it's good or not......and of yeah before I forget (and you too haha), IF you get time before you leave Thailand, try and get a good look at those PT Apartments.....I'm REALLY quite curious about that as I'll be needing a place for 3 months anyways. Thanks joe...glad to hear the "clapper" has cleared up.

Joe Zop
11-18-02, 11:16
Chikan -- sorry to have been lax on this, and I'll try to put something together here now, with a promise of more a bit later.

I don't mind the tuk-tuk drivers all that much, honestly, except when it comes to some of the prices they try to get you to pay. I actually had one quote me three hundred baht to take me to the old city, and then insist that was a fair price! I told him I would pay five hundred if I could have the tuk-tuk for my own at the end of the ride, and we actually ended up where we ought to be, at thirty.

I'm not a gun guy, so I'll leave that one to you. I doubt I'll be spending too much time checking out discos, either, as I'm just too old for that scene, unfortunately. The couple of times I've poked my head in them in LOS I just feel out of place, even if I really do like and listen to the music. I'll see if I can get a look at the PT Place, as I'm going to have to find another place in a month, but you should, according to the friend who tried to get me in there, consider Lanna 3 as well -- some truly spectacular views of Doi Suthep.

I've wandered into and by the various beer bars in the night market, and on Loi Kroh near the city. It seems to me that there are far more women who are looking for one-nighters than when I was here before, though there are also the core group who want long-term only. I see very few women being bar-fined from the Night Market area, and had several offer strongly. I've avoided for a couple of reasons, not the least of which being that I don't feel like getting identified too strongly with any one bar here, given that it's kind of local turf for me.

I went back to one place I had a good time last trip -- the Bunny Club, past the Night Market on Loi Kroh heading to the river. They're somewhat pricey, but have some nice lookers, someof whom get pretty wild as the night goes on -- it's not a strip club, but at some point in the night some girl is usually either doing a striptease, being up on a table doing some extended flashing and grinding, or mauling someone in as public a way as possible, making sure she's being checked out. It's got space both inside, near the pool table, and outside in the open air. Short-time rooms upstairs where some of the women live, or you can bar fine and take elsewhere.

I came by and was astonished to see Nan, who I'd been with on my last trip. She's now twenty-three, and more gorgeous than before, with her hair cut shorter in a stylish way. Before she had absolutely zero English, now she speaks pretty fluently both from being at the bar and from taking computer courses. Man, did she look good to me, and I'd really enjoyed my time with her before. I didn't bar fine her the first couple of nights I saw her, though, because I was preoccupied with finding an apartment and getting everything together. I did, however, spend lots of time talking to her, and found her witty and engaging.

One night I brought some tarot cards to the bar and ended up telling the fortune of half of the TGs there -- I finally begged off from fatigue. When I finally did barfine Nan, she seemed very pleased. We'd discussed how long I was going to be in CM, and she seemed very interested in that. Well, we get back to my place, hop into bed, and she informs me that the only thing on the agenda tonight was sleeping. Seems she's actually mad at me, because she's convinced I butterflied her when I was with her before. No amount of me telling her (which happened to be the truth) that I saw her just before I left for Koh Samui will convince her otherwise. No, she say, no look, no touch, just sleep. Fine, I said, but not here -- you're gone, and we're done. She looked totally surprised, and only when I said, "You leave now" did she figure out that she'd messed up. But she still didn't offer to change her behavior, probably figuring that since I'd talked to her for three days I was hooked. As I sent her down the elevator I told her, "You blew it -- I'm not into games like this" and off she went with nothing but a shocked look.

I've gone by the bar several times since, and the various girls keep grabbing on to tell me, first, Nan not here (as I've made it clear I'm pissed at her) and then to either tell me how true their fortune was or to beg me to come back and do theirs. I wish I'd figured that one out years ago -- I may take those cards with me everywhere. So far I just keep going past with a few pleasantries -- it's the least congested way to the Night Market from my place. And if something doesn't work out with the TG I'm with at the moment, there are a couple at the club I'm interested in at least for a quick boink and a little bit of face revenge. But we'll see.

As far as the TG I'm seeing at the moment, she is from Spotlight, which is one of only three dance bars (now covered) in town and the one most farang end up at. I saw her when I first went in and was immediately attracted -- far taller than your usual Thai woman, moved amazingly and sensuously, and a great face. The mamasan (who's a real piece of work, btw, brought her over to sit with me, and after talking to her for several minutes I was very convinced she was at the top of my list. Smart as hell, confident and shy at the same time, and very obviously new to the scene. It was very late, and I was tired, so I didn't barfine her that night, but went back the next with that intention. Nope, she wasn't there. So mamasan tried to give me a substitute, an Issan girl who was close to the same body type but frankly about as vacuous as they come, something that I can find sexy at times, especially if they know what to do with their body, but this one was simply unbuttered toast.

So I went back the next night and grabbed her. Turns out she's always late (which makes the mamasan furious) because she goes to school from 5:30 to 8:30 six days a week. So I barfine her, take her to get something to eat (because I'm hungry) and in the middle of the meal she starts to get a really distressed look on her face. I ask her what's wrong, and she says nothing, so I wait and ask again, as she's almost in tears. Of course, what else -- her period has just started, and now she is completely in tears, afraid I'm furious with her digging into her purse to give me the money for the bar fine, etc. I tell her it's no big deal, it happens, and she's as mortified by my knowing what's going on as by the fact it happens. I ask her how long she'll need to stop working, she says three days, and I say, fine, let's get you a tuk-tuk, I'll see you in three days.

So back I come when the allotted time has passed and the moment she sees me she tears across the bar, in tears again, and gives me a huge apology and goes on and on about how much she liked talking and she was afraid I hated her, etc. Typical TG histrionics in a lot of ways, but utterly charming nonetheless. So I barfine her, she has to do one more time on stage (where she's the only girl wearing a bathing suit -- something she hates and says the mamasan insists she do) and then off we go. Well, it was well worth the wait, and I've basically been with her since except for the day she headed home to see her baby (she's twenty-three, flawless body and no sign of having a five-year-old) and parents. She's truly the typical shy TG -- even getting her to ride on top has been impossible thus far, so it's missionary or doggy-style at the moment, but she is a great bed partner nonetheless. Unless something negative happens I can very much see her being my regular tilac when I'm in CM, as I like her company very much. We've discussed her experience so far (precisely how bar fines she must get each month (which is an amazing twenty-five) and drinks she must sell (fifty-five) to get her 5000b salary. It appears that the mamasan is somewhat angry with her for keeping me out of the bar, as I would usually buy a lady drink or two while waiting for her to show up, but so it goes. When I come back to CM (I'm probably running to BKK later this week) I may well simply pay her fine for a week and see how things go.

Well, that's again far too much for now, and I hope folks don't mind the blow by blow. If you do, scroll on by...

I'll be in CM in early January. I was there once before but I didn't know about some of the places I'm now reading about on this board. Where is Bubbles? Where is Spotlite? I now know where the Bunny Club is, from reading this board, so I'll try that place. Also, I'm staying at the Empress and I believe I read someplace that is was "friendly". Does anyone know if that means guests are allowed, but there is a charge? Or, are guests allowed without charge?

Thanks for any/all help.

Pretty well all hotels in the north are "girl friendly" as opposed to those in the south. I don't know specifically about the Empress but I'd be really surprised if there was a problem. Easiest thing is still just to register as a double rather than a single; I've never had any trouble if I do that. Might mean you pay a few more baht up front (very often not) but it eliminates all issues.

Spotlite is on Chaiya Poom (or Chia Phum) Road south of Tha Phrae Gate, just outside the western moat of the old city. One of the main beer bar sections is just south of there, continuing on Loy Kroh Road toward the Night Market.

I'm also thinking of booking a room at the Empress for a few nights in late December/January, can I ask how you went about booking it? Did you go through a third party website or direct to the hotel? And what was the price?

And I'll probably be up for a beer or two at some point as well...

JoeZop - I think I remember the mamasan at the Spotlite - Cute, petite Chinese Thai with glasses. I liked her too, but I was a newbie and didn't approach.

I thought the Spotlite girls were a little uptight. All in all, I had trouble getting satisfying Sanuk in CM. BKK and down south were better for me.

There was a karaoke joint near the CM Plaza Hotel where the mamasan brought the girls Ecstasy and they were slinking around like Vestals of Shakti just DYING TO GET FUCKED. I had a couple good but expensive afternoons in there.

Thanks for the info, MondaysChilde -- I'm on my way to Pitsanulok right now for one night and then will be back in Chiang Mai. Just curious -- what did you pay at the karakoke joint? I know they're pricy (they cater mostly to the Japanese) but some of the women hanging there are simply outstanding. Also, there are three different ones near that hotel, all around each other -- do you know which one you went into?

And I agree that the women in CM seem to be a bit more work, but I've decidedly had some good times as well. I'll post a bit more about it all once I'm back to my laptop and dial-up as opposed to internet cafes.

JoeZop - As I recall...as you face the front of the CM Plaza, it's to your left, on the other side of the street that borders the parking lot & turnaround for the hotel.

You will know it because IT LOOKS LIKE AN INTERNET CAFE WHEN YOU WALK IN. The mamasan is a good-looking lady in her 40's who must have been smokin' in her day.

As I recall, a staircase runs up the right side as you walk in. the entry room is like a big room with computer terminals. There were rats in the walls and you could hear them scuttling. I spent about $200 U.S. fucking a girl all afternoon and drinking. That's a lot in TL but who gives a fuck sometimes!

Gentlemen,

I'd like to take just a moment and introduce myself, Shamas O'Dognasty. I post on the Louisville Kentucky and San Jose Costa Rica boards extensively.

I'm planning a trip to Thailand in mid April and plan to spend some time in Chiang Mai.

From my travels I've learned to stay away from the high end places. It seems like the higher the prices, the more business like the girls are and you don't get any more, usually less than you do from the mid range places.

In San Jose so many of the guys rave about the Del Ray which is the high end monger watering hole in town. Mi amigos and self have found so many places that are so much cheaper and the service is so much better. This is my quest in Thailand.

I've spent some time reading the posting here and will try to read all of them over the next week.

Thanks to all for sharing your info and I'll be posting for more info shortly.

Shamas - have a good time laddie. My personal preference in Thailand was actually to spend more.

It was not my experience that higher-end ladies were more mercenary - that occurred at all stratas of the trade.

Chiang Mai? I liked places like Madame Fluke's (see below) because they were so obviously Asian fleshpots. The asian men want to be serviced, they don't want to play romantic, they want a beautiful and submissive woman. Therefore I went to places that catered more to the asians.

When I go back in April, I will be in Rachada in BKK.

The Girlfriend Experience is a matter of chemistry and seduction. I just try to find a woman who actually likes to fuck. It can be done.

I would like to try San Jose some day. Thailand is Buddhist, so the game is different.

I'll be in BKK from 13 apr for 2 wks. I'm going to take a three day trip to CM during this time, I've already booked a room at the Royal Asia Lodge. I'll proberly stay at the Riverside hotel in CM.

If you want some info on SJO I'll gladly provide. The places I visit there are 1/3 the cost of most of the gringo watering holes and a few of the girls are very pretty and have great attitudes. One big + for SJO, BBBJ are an art form there.

joe_zop,
seems your enjoying yourself over there! hate to be a "bug"..but have you had a peek at the "pt place apartments" yet? ok....have fun over there!

Joe Zop

Sorry, Chikan, I never made it over there to get inside, but from the outside they looked more than nice. When I came back to CM, things were ridiculously booked because of the holidays, and I wasn't able to find another apartment at all. Ended up staying at the Tapae Place Hotel for 550b a night, which was ok enough, but not what I'd have preferred.

I'll post more about CM later -- I'm in the last couple days of my trip, and have a bunch of work to get done before I scoot home.

joe zop - I liked the Tapae Place - that's the one with the very popular western-style eaterie attached, right? I brought home many a visitor and they just smiled...good location too - but get a back room.

Joe Zop
02-06-03, 03:06
Yes, it was decent enough -- a bit worn in places, but definitely in a great location and visitor friendly. (If anything at times a bit too friendly, if you know what I mean.) The eatery is so-so, and they did jack up their prices around the holidays, unlike a number of other places, but I'd stay there again. I'd pick it over say the Downtown Inn, which it probably resembles in class -- better all around and less expensive, imho, and situated so that both the night market and old city the beer bar areas are within walking distance. The only downside can be that Tapae Road gets shut down for the walking street on Sundays, so it can be a pain to get transport then, but on the other hand you've got that wonderful circus right near your doorstep.

And seeing as I did promise to post a followup here on the CM scene and my experiences I'll get to work on that.

Cheers everybody.....

As a first-timer in severe LOS-euphoria I ended up overpaying young cunning BKK-beauties. I have decided that I will not do it again (I still feel like an idiot......)

Could anyone please give me guidance on what to pay on my upcoming trip to CM (freelancers, beer bar girls, gogo girls and tipping in MP's).

Thanks.

Hmm, there's a lot of variation in Chiang Mai. Here's my take on it, but others may have a slightly different perspective:

Streetwalkers: 200-400
Beer Bars and freelancers: Short-time 300-600, Long time 500-1000 (with some holding out for more, of course)
Go-Gos: ST 400-800, (with many asking for 1000) LT 600-1200 (some will demand 1500-2000, and will refuse to go for less. Unless you're smitten, move on. Often moving on to another in the same place will change the price, but sometimes it's then a matter of principle and nothing doing. Depends on how busy it is and the lady.)

Tips at massage parlors are usually 200-400baht. By and large all tips here keep the girls happy as the big price is what's up front, and that varies depending on where you're going, ranging from 80-1500baht, generally. Tips vary if you're looking for stuff like anal, of course, as the worker is obviously looking for more.

Can't tell you the Karaoke prices, as I never wandered into one in CM, knowing they're pricy.

Be forewarned -- Chiang Mai ladies are not as easy or open as those you'll find in Bangkok or Pattaya. A large number are looking for longer-term relationships and play games accordingly. But if you're careful and selective there are very truly some gems to be found.

My buddy and I are going to Chiang Rai in April. Can anyone tell me whats it like there? We have been to Phuket and Koh Samui and just love those places. We are just looking for something differnt.

Joe Zop
02-15-03, 15:55
Chiang Rai is very different from either of those places, needless to say, since it's in the far north as opposed to in the beach and ocean areas you mention. As far as sanuking action, there's some there, but it's nothing like the scale you'll find in any of the major areas in LOS. Chiang Rai is essentially a smaller version of Chiang Mai, wanting to be a major tourist destination but not really completely pulling it off though it still gets a fair amount of traffic, rather sleepy, with some gorgeous surroundings, nice restaurants, and laid-back atmosphere. Most of the action I found was down around the night market area, but I didn't get the chance to really wander around all that much during the brief periods I was there. That said, I had drinks with a group of ex-pats who swore up and down that it was the best place in LOS, bar none, and that was why they'd settled there. Three of them were married to Thai women they'd met there, two of who were ex-bar girls. It's on my list of places to stay a longer time and explore more, as the two encounters I did have there were excellent. I think your happiness with the place will depend on your temperment and what you're looking for -- if you're expecting anything like the Patong or even Lamai areas, let alone Nana or Patpong, forget it, and if you're expecting hooking up to be as simple as walking down the street and heading over to women who call to you, again, you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for something more mellow and subdued then you might like it.

ianhrt:

First, LOS stands for "Land of Smiles" or in other words, Thailand.

As far as crossing the river into Burma or Laos goes, I have only done the former, and there's nothing to it. Basically, you take the bus to Mae Sai, hop on a songkaew at the bus terminal (5 baht) and have them drop you at the immigration office. You go in there and check out of Thailand, which takes about 5 minutes, go back out and grab the next songkaew to the bridge, and head across to Tachilek, the Burmese city there. There you surrender your passport and pay the toll, and in you go. I didn't stay overnight, so if your plans are more involved than just wandering around on a day trip then you'll need photos, a mimimum of 200USD, and to grab it in advance. If you're going over the river into Laos my understanding is that you need to get your visa in advance, which you can do in a zillion places, either at an embassy or a travel agency. Lots of the latter advertise the service and are reasonable, as they're going to try to make their money on value-added stuff. You can get visas at a couple of entry points, too, but I think they're mainly the airports. Perhaps someone else can chime in here and clarify.

Philo, have a great time, and your approach is an excellent one. I found that printing out a couple of copies of the maps from http://*************************sanukmaps/ to just stick in my pocket while wandering around was a real help. For what it's worth, I never did either Phucome or Pandora, as they're both the more expensive MPs and also the ones farthest afield. Meant to, but never got around to it, so if you go field reports would be much appreciated. I tried both Sayuri and New Nancy, and had an enjoyable time at each. Sayuri is considerably less expensive at 800baht for a basic session, while New Nancy ranges from 1300-1500, depending on the "tier" of the TG you choose, with newbies and the lookers being more expensive. Be aware that as a tourist, both places may try to jack up the prices for you, depending on their sense of how green you are. Just repeat the above prices and you should have no trouble.

Most of the locals swear by Sayuri because it's less expensive and has the largest selection of ladies. I found that while it has lower cost, the rooms have gotten pretty threadbare and are not always terribly clean (rather mildewy), so it's a bit more of dingy experience. You will find a number of long-time pros there who are absolutely expert at what they do. You can also find newer ladies, but as it's a high-traffic place they don't stay that way for long. You're still not going to find the "Eden experience" here, as is true for the most part in the north, but if you're looking for something other than plain vanilla sex Sayuri's probably the best place to look.

New Nancy is attached to the Chiang Mai President hotel and had undergone fairly recent renovation when I was there. There's not as much traffic, not as much selection (maybe 20 ladies as opposed to 50) but I found the ambience better -- nicer rooms, less of a production-line feel, plus it wasn't as far off the track from where I was staying when I went there. Part of the reason for the higher pricing is, I think, because there are a lot of Japanese hotels in the general vicinity (Chiang Mai is a very popular stop for Japanese tourists) but the prices are really no different than Pandora or Phucome, so I think the main objection the locals have is that it used to be cheaper before renovation. Whatever -- I had a very enjoyable time the two times I went there

BTW, as is true elsewhere, whatever you do, don't allow a tuk-tuk driver to take you to Sayuri or one of the other places or you're going to pay a substantial surcharge, anywhere from 500 to 1000baht. That's not a problem at New Nancy, because you can just walk into the hotel or karaoke there and then back out to the MP. If you're looking to go to Sayuri or Pandora, just have them take you to one of the bars across the Mae Ping River, like the River Cafe (there are some nice places to check out here in any event) and then walk over, as it's not all that far. If you're going to Phucome, just have them take you up to Huai Kaeo and Nimmanhemin, jump out at one of the many businesses there, and walk over. Tuk-tuk drivers in Chiang Mai, more than some other places, require vigilance, as they'll consistently try to take you for more baht. They're not as bad as lots of places, but negotiating pays here, and sometimes it's necessary to just flag down someone different. If you're not in a big hurry, songkaews can save you a lot, though I found myself in the habit of simply walking pretty much everywhere after a while, since I was used to the heat and needed the exercise.

Ianhrt,

In addition to Joe's post:
The river crossing to Laos is at ChiangKhong. There are many buses a day from ChiangRai to ChiangKhong. The trip used to take four hours or more, but I understand there is a quicker route now. So taking an early bus from ChR leaves you plenty of time to check the situation.
However: PM Thaksin recently started an all out war on drugs and you may run in to very thorough checks at police/army-roadblocks. Perhaps allow for an extra hour or two...
Best read the BangkokPost d-a-i-l-y to stay up to date on the situation. UrL: www.bangkokpost.com

Getting a Laos visa: either at the Embassy in BKK or at the consulate in KhonKaen (I don't have an address...). Reliable sources told me recently that the KK route is the quickest. Visa on the same day or the next. Travelagents who 'take care of your visa' will need your passport for at least 4 days. You cannot travel or even change hotels without your passport. When you run into a roadblock you are seriously f**ed if you can't produce a passport.
Bottomline: Leave your passport in your pocket! Don't believe anyone who says: 'I've done it a million times.' Perhaps they have, but without a passport you could end up in ImmigrationPrison. I admit: A cheap holiday:), but a fun one...:(?

The Takilek route is the easiest and cheapest way to renew your Thai visa.

Joe Zop
02-16-03, 21:44
Good point on the passport, Freeler. I'm someone who actually only does visas at embassies or consulates, myself, so my comment regarding travel agencies was a bit glib. On my last trip to LOS, I had meant to get an extended visa before I left so renewal runs wouldn't be necessary, but didn't manage to have the time to run to the regional Thai embassy. I'm loathe to send my passport through the mail or FedEx even in my own country, so why would I want to hand it over half the world away? This is something that comes up a lot if you're renting cars or motorcycles in the north -- plenty of places want you to leave your passport with them, which they see as a guarantee you'll not disappear with their vehicle. I always either negotiated that or scouted around for another place who would take something else -- I'd offer my driver's license or a pile of cash as a security deposit instead and usually had no troubles going that route.

Joe_zop,

The passport-for-rent scheme isn't exactly a favorite of mine, but it is easier to explain to the 'arresting officer' that your passport is at the rental than in, say, Yangon or Penang or 'I don't actually know where my passport is at....'

In a foreign country without passport and visa? Trouble!

OTOH I met this total moron somewhere in LOS last January. He never had a valid visa in five (yes 5) years, except when he came into Thailand for the first time. He said he was arrested and thrown in ImmigrationPrison twice. Cheap holiday:)!
For some reason no-one can understand Thai Immigration did not deport him back to his homeland, but let him stay so he could support the Thai economy with his B300 a day spending habit...

Hi Joe-zop,
Could you please tell me more about Huai Keao and Nimanhemmin ? I have heard that there was an interesting scene on Nimanhemmin, which is a long road with many sois, but I never found anything. Could yuou help ? Thanks.

Joe Zop
02-17-03, 03:52
Erik, I didn't spend very much time over in that neck of things on the sanuk trail, as it was the opposite side of the city from where I was staying, but near that intersection you've got a few things -- Phucome massage and club, some beer bars, etc. Down near Soi 15 are the brothels, but since they're chiefly filled with Burmese women who've been sold into service they represent the worst of the whole scene, and I personally have a moral problem with them, and stayed away. (I hope they get shut down, which they never will, since a high CM police official owns/runs one of them, as they're the kind of thing that gives pay-for-play its bad reputation.) There are several discos on Huai Kaeo just outside the old city, but as a somewhat older fart I tend to be scarce in those. You're right that Nimmanhemin's a long road, and the further down toward Suthep Road you go the less there is, with the exception of the aforementioned brothels. I think there are some things going on north of Huai Kaeo as you head out, as there's tons of activity up there, but my time through that area was chiefly on the way to something else with one of my friends, and I don't think there's huge farang presence out there except for the residence areas -- and there are a couple of farang-heavy neighborhoods out there. I did a couple of restaraunts out there which were clearly Thai-oriented, as they were very surprised to have to deal with me and had little in the way of English, which is unusual in CM. Nimmanhemin's also the general area of the university, (the art center's near Suthep, the main campus further out west) so those of you who chat up uni chicks hoping you can get freebies might look around over there (though most of the uni girls I met tended toward the discos, particularly the ones in the general night market area.)

Freeler, I think your story illustrates the general rule that Thai police usually simply don't want much to do with tourists, unless you're being seriously stupid or a problem. But of course it only takes one cop with an attitude, and you're sunk if you don't have your stuff in order. (Your story also demonstrates that idiots are everywhere :) and sometimes travel under lucky stars, though two times in immigration prison doesn't exactly sound like my kind of desired experience!) I agree the passport-for-rent thing isn't really a big problem if you've got law troubles, but why should I trust a dingy hole-in-the-wall cycle shop over a travel agent to keep my precious papers safe? At least a travel agent presumably understands how important the darn things are...

Joe_zop,

I'm trying to make sense of your CM post with the help of the web, some maps and a bit of the old memory. But I'm stuck:(...

Could you more or less pin-point Soi15 (Soi of which road?) and Phucome massage and club.
Am I correct in assuming that most of the action on Nimmanhemin is where it meets Huai Kaeo Road?

Joe Zop
02-17-03, 21:26
All those things are along Nimmanhemin, (except for the discos) with Phucome being up near Huai Kaeo Road, and, yes, most of the action seems to be up in that general area, as well as possibly further north along the road. By Soi 15 I mean Nimmanhemin Soi 15, which is toward Suthep Road -- the numbers increase on this particular road as you head south. (No rhyme nor reason to Soi numbering progression in CM, of course!) And to be completely accurate, they might actually be on Soi 14 -- it's one or the other, as I went past them several times in a car, basically being distracted by conversation, and once on foot.

Let me again repeat that I never visited Phucome, only went past it in cars and tuk-tuks, as it's rather out of the way from where I hung around -- most of my time wandering in CM was either in the old city or between there and the river area, as opposed to the west. My apartment was right near the Mae Ping, a short walk from the Night Market. I spent a small bit of time running up and down both Nimmanhemin and Huai Kaeo as my friend lives in one of the sois off the former, the Uni art center is over there and I went to a couple things there, and the Central Shopping Center is off Huai Kaeo. I originally spent some time looking at apartments over in the vicinity before deciding I didn't really like how busy the region was (though there are some fabulous mountain views!) I frankly felt the whole area was a bit of a mess, in terms of basic traffic and layout, mostly newish buildings and shiny strip malls, and was therefore the kind of thing I'd come to Thailand to get away from. I didn't spend time at all sanuking in the region, only going to a few restaurants and stores. (Half of my time was spent trying to flag down tuk-tuks and songkaews, which can get scarce in various places along Nimmanhemin. This is also an area where your negotiating skills are critical in that regard -- lots of attempts to really gouge tourists on tuk-tuk rides.) So, please, accept my disclaimer that I'm hardly an authority on action or geography in this particular region! Other parts of the city, perhaps, but not here.

Now Freeler, I can take the intended compliment, as you know I'm far from the jingoistic type, but thanks for the concern about my health nonetheless. Philo, I am in fact from the New World -- there truly are a couple of us over here who can deal with language to some extent when we take a small break from brandishing our guns and flouting the superiority of our culture :) And, yes, I've written a fair amount, from journalism to criticism to articles to creative work, including books. My last trip to LOS was in fact a writing retreat first and foremost, though I confess I spent a reasonable amount of time holding auditions for potential muses as well...

BTW, do be very careful in this region, Philo, as both of these roads can be quite busy and drivers will give your bicycle little regard or respect. Whatever you do, don't try pedaling out there during one of the rush periods or you're asking for trouble.

Frog, I only wish I could manage a second passport. That would be great, but I'm in the same boat as Freeler on that.

I am still impressed. Few people today (and that goes for inhabitants of the Old World too) care for written language. (As I do not have english as my mother tongue, I should be excused :-)

If the traffic gets to heavy I will just abandon the bicycle. I will survive somehow: I once tried to cross Sukhumvit in the middle of the night heading directly from the odd numbered sois side towards the Landmark ATM (which I due to more than 20 Singha's hardly could see) and I am still here...

Well, thanks, Philo, and your English is excellent for a second language (as of course is Freeler's.) You should have no difficulty getting out there -- ten baht and some small bit of patience will get you there by songkaew, and fifty baht at most via tuk-tuk from just about anywhere. It can be done by bicycle if you're careful -- just avoid the rush period from about 4 to 6pm and be alert, which is something you always have to do on the roads in CM anyway, as it has more accidents than just about anywhere else in LOS. If you want to cycle there, you're better off avoiding Huai Kaeo as much as you can, as it's pretty busy.

As far as Sukhumvit -- I did the same thing the first time I was in Bangkok, only I did it during the daytime. Both of us are lucky not to have been ticketed or killed!

Was in CM a week or so back. Choice of bargirls nothing special - the ones in Bunny club were really dire. Great fat monsters the 2 times I went there. Spotlight disappointing also - tbe few girls in reasonable shape decidedly glum looking. Walked to Sayuri and got quoted 1800 for a full session - didn't indulge as it was 2pm and there was only one girl sitting behind the window. Later got food poisoning from papaya salad - a pisser as I wanted to check out Madame Fluke's (on the strength of Mondaychilde 's "slinking vestals of shakti" recommendation). Anyway, I gave up on CM (will return when in better mood, if only for sightseeing), took some antibiotics and headed down for a week in Phuket where I found the scene much superior.

Hamia,

You wrote: 'Later got food poisoning from papaya salad'

Just a few remarks on the food poisening.

When you order spicy food like papaya salad (som tam) or glass noodle salad (yam wun sen) always ask for Thai style, meaning as spicy as Thais would eat it.
It takes 5 chillies to make a good and safe som tam. Fewer chillies and the germs may survive...

The other thing - and I am not saying that you didn't have foodpoisening, but most people are not aware of this - is that sunburn is the most likely cause for symptoms associated with foodpoisoning, like fever, vomiting and diarrhea. The sunrays destroy the skin by burning it, white bloodcells come to the rescue but get slaughtered themselves. This leaves your body with a lot of internal cleaning up to do resulting in the symptoms mentioned.

I don't think my papaya salad was making any concessions to "normal" falang tastes - in fact it had a rather high chilli content, and this is from someone who is quite at home with uber-spicy cuisine. Maybe I shouldn't have scoffed it so quickly - waited for the chilli-effect to zap the nasty germs.

The sun factor may have played a part though - I like to walk a lot when I'm on holiday in an effort to keep in reasonable shape (unlike the bloaters in Bunny club) and didn't have a hat for much of the time.

Back again from LOS (sometimes that S must mean Sad things, or am I going soft-core?).

I liked CM, and had quite a few good moments there. Here's my MP-research (map is B&B City Streets Chiang Mai, around 165B):

Sayuri

Best in town. Good girls, nice management, first girls arrives around 2 p.m., asians in the front-of-fishbowl-sofas from around 3 p.m. Prices: 800B a wash-n-boom, 950B bodymassage (B-badges) and 1200B for superstar (M-badges). Rooms little bit worn, but you can have VIP-rom for a few reds... 50-100 motorbikes (=girls) from 5-7 p.m. Location: Bumrung Rat (Rajd) Soi 2 (Map: D10 exactly where map says 'BR 2').

The first time I went I said 'railway station' to the taxi-driver and belled him to stop at the junction of Bumrung Rat and Charoen Muang and walked from there (5 min.). Later I used 'Thanon Bumrung Raad Soi Soong' and walked the few last meters. In spite of dealing with 4-5 different 'mangager-sans' I was never asked for a baht more than mentioned over. My favourite......

New Nancy

OK place. 1300B for wash-n-boom (red badges), 1500B for bodymassage (blue badges). Worn rooms. Never saw many girls, but the ones I had was nice... Walking distance (5 min. from Tha Pae Gate). Located in Chiang Mai President Hotel (Map: C8, map says 'President').

Pandora

Hugh place. One time I saw 50-80 girls18-23. 1 h wash-n-boom 1110B (tax you now.......), 1.5 h 1440B. Rooms worn-out and dirty (I think my sheets was used before.....why do I care, the girl was probably so too?).

Map: E11, place not marked. Head for railway station, when you have passed Bumrung Rat start looking for big Shell-station on your right. Get of there. 10 m. further down, on the other side of Charoen Muang, there is a soi between a light green colored house and a pool/snooker joint. Walk this soi some 300 m. to a big white/gold roman-empire inspired right-hand-side building. You're home ...

Phucome

Big place, but never saw much of it. Went early (2 p.m.) Got a wash-n-boom for 1000B. Map B3 marked 'CM Phucome'. Take taxi to Phucome Hotel entrance. Pass the Trad. Mass. place (don't try to mention boom-boom there - I had to pay grandma a red and bow myself out backwards....) to your left and head for the parking area underneath the building. You'll see the neon signs...

to be continued..........

continued:

Ping Payom

Got info from local thai. He said B800. Went tuk-tuk, left the place, returned walking 10 min. later. Ended up paying 1500B for bodymassage (thinking 800B was for wash-n-boom only). Good girls, but no matress for BM. Told manager, he admitted commision but had his own definition on BM: girl touch you with hand = BM. Ended up I should only pay 950B next time. If you are hard-core you will get it for 800B.

Best room in town: clean, delicate and discretely decorated (must be designed by a european reborn thai ....).

Map: D3, place not marked. Take taxi to junction Suthep/Nimmanhemin. Continue westwards on left side of Suthep to the first soi (may be a 100 m.). The MP has its entrance from the parking area inside/behind Ping Payom Hotel. Insist on 800B (unless the nice room is very important to you) ..........

Thanks joe_zop....

and Yes, I had a good time... but already after my second trip with the intention to (mis)use LBFM's I'm starting to get second thoughts... Maybe I had better go to Laos picking bombs (nojudgement on how they got there; but they are there).

Seeing the posters on the wall in one of the rooms of Sweetheart (BKK) made me realize I was banging an 18 (?) yo in her bedroom. My 200B tip grew 1500B so she could buy herself out for the day and meet her friend (you see them: hand-in-hand with similar teddybear-sacks). Another ruined day....

Breaking a condom with an 18 yo from Spotlight (CM) - filling her up - was really something: you feel like shit when the poor girl (and this one really was a child of 18, 4 weeks of working, her first condom breakage) - with fear and tears in her eyes - runs for the bathroom and pumps herself up with cold water. I felt so bad I f***ing went to Nations Doctor (or something) to have an HIV-test: not for me BUT FOR HER! (am I going crazy?)). As I returned to the bar I gave the negative test result to mamasan explaining I had no comdom breaking since early dec. last year, so I was (within the standard 3 months detection time) clean. Trying to make myself feel better, I ended up giving the girl a few thousand for gold. Who th f*** am I: a monk or a missionary or a fool.....

I will elaborate on this later........ Have to go to work (that has become meaningless).

PS. Reading A Killing Smile over 14 smuggled gin-tonics last night made me think that may be I am also one of the guys who's 'always defeated by his own decency'. Who knows ....

03-11-03, 16:52
Philo -- look, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being human about the whole process, and I say bravo for that, and there's no reason to be either heartless or to radically go in the other direction. I'm certainly not going to discourage anyone from helping clean up Laotian or Cambodian bombs if they so desire, as there's little question that can be safer than dealing with the minefields of Thai women, but there are also other approaches you can take.

If you're getting remorseful about being with these 18-year-old TGs, then choose someone older. I personally rarely go for those of that age because sometimes I get exactly that sense of discomfit (as well as feeling even less a sense of commonality than I do with someone older.) But please keep in mind that your decision isn't going to change anything but the girl's income -- she's made her decision about how she's going to make money and whether you contract her or not she's going to do it. Bravo for paying for the test for the girl, but get one for yourself as well.

And you may well be someone defeated by your own decency -- it's no big deal to buy women out so they can go do things with their friends or family, but there are two things to consider. First, expect that if you're doing this you will be deceived at some point, by some TG, who will simply work anyway and pocket the extra money. These ladies are trying to make a living, and an opportunity for extra income is an opportunity for extra income. No need to take it personally, and many will do exactly as you intend and be with their friends, but don't be surprised if it happens, as one of the skills these ladies learn is how to pluck the farang heartstring. Next, and most importantly -- guilt is a stupid motivator for monetary decisions. You want to tip a woman because you like her and/or she's made you feel good, then great. That's appropriate (but don't be a fool about it.) Expect from the woman both gratitude and an expectation that it will always happen like that. But doing so out of guilt about the woman's situation or your own in the scheme of things is a fast way not only to be broke but to be broken.

This whole scene has nothing to do with your personal position in it beyond how you decide to define that, and it won't change no matter how you approach it. It is what it is, and you are who you are -- and if you're not happy or comfortable with yourself in it, then nothing you're going to do is going to make it good. You're comfortable with it or you're not. That's not a reproach, just a caution -- if you're going to engage in this scene, it's best to have your head on straight about it.

Philo,

isn't there a little bit of narcissism in your attitude ?

Agreed, you are a nice person, and you did the decent thing, or so you thought. Nonetheless, you should not see more in this story than there really is. And I agree with Joe, go for an older chick next time, as 18 yos are still so uncomfortably close to childhood.

On a different note, I am glad that your HIV test turned negative (I assume that you got yourself tested to reassure the girl, not that you got the girl tested, as Joe seemed to assue, which would have been pointless).

But what if is did not ? I mean, these tests (I assume you got an ELISA test, by Abbot, or so) are notoriously unreliable. Many people in Thailand got a false positive, just because they have malaria, for example. That would have meant much more aggravation for her, and for you ...

Sometime, doing the decent thing might not be the smartest thing to do...

Philo,

The girls being 18 means they're legal. They're on the adult side of line. Doesn't matter how close they are to it. I'm not supporting child abuse. It's absolutely wrong. But, these girls have probably been ready (if not already working) for a couple years.

As for the HIV test. Much better to be informed with a possibly invalid result than to stick your head in the sand. If you had gotten a bad result, you could have gone and retaken the test (study first this time ;))

Seems like you're a nice guy, and probably made this girls day a little brighter by being nice to her.

you are ofcourse right........ if i think of it as a nonacceptable exploitation or cannot accept putting the girls to a small risk, then i should leave the game. and an older girl will make me more reassured she knows what she's into. and unreasonable overpaying/gifts will not change the moral (or feeling of guilt) of it. and you cannot (and have no need for) trust them.... i just had a bad day (and i also admit i am doing some budgeting: a lt stay in los will not withstand too many days of bx000 more than you planned.

the test was of my blod but done for her. it still amazes me that i gave a f*** about my risk of getting something from her. it just tortured me to think that i might have been accidentally responsible for destroying this cute little innocent daugher-like (no ****) thing.

it was my first test on 7 years. up to dec. last year i have only done farang chang's and the occationally one-night stand

Joe Zop
03-12-03, 19:14
Well, you were smart to be concerned about getting something from her, frankly. (And though I see I miswrote, I was aware of what you meant -- I meant to convey you shouldn't have gotten the test just for her peace of mind, but for yours.) Keep in mind that though many of these women are still young when you come in contact with them, that doesn't mean they haven't had significantly more sexual contacts than you have. RN, who posts on this board, is about 30, was only really in the game for a few years, has been mostly out for several years, and I believe her estimate of the men she'd been with was in the 5000 range.

I'm not saying that this girl had anything, or that she was anything more than pretty inexperienced (I've had the same general experience minus breakage, and you do find some pretty inexperienced girls there) but you simply don't really know. It's very possible in LOS to find women who have just turned 18 who still have several years in the game under their belts. At Spotlight the girls are barfined fairly frequently, particularly the younger ones, who are considered fresh meat by the locals who line up to get them. If they don't get fined at least nine times a month, they have to pay the bar. Few do.

Look, why should it torture you less to feel you'd destroyed a TG who was a couple of years older? If something terrible has happened, it's terrible no matter who it happens to. Again, your perspective on this indicates you need to reconsider your choices in ladies, unless you actually like torturing yourself this way, in which case, hey, up to you... :)

I absolutely agree that LT stays can get expensive if you don't keep to your budget. I certainly spent more than I'd planned (though most of it wasn't on TGs, actually, as I was pretty close to my budget there.)

And knowing the dragon mamasan at the Spotlight, she no doubt did a couple of things after you gave her the test results: first, she went to the girl and told her that you were obviously hooked on her, and she should take advantage. Second, she reamed the girl out for letting you spend your money on something as useless as a medical test as opposed to giving it to the girl, told her she wasn't charging you enough and to raise her rates, and then dear mamasan no doubt demanded a substantial tip for the brilliant care and advice...

(completing my unfinished post.... wondering how joe_zop got all his wisdom (no kidding))

From now on I will take the test regularly (and only reveal a positive result after several different and independent tests (a few days I guess). It's a dirty game, but it can be played with some cleanliness.

Thanks for good advice. Going back in May. Will try to be more rational both economically and emotionally.

wondering how joe_zop got all his wisdom

Half a lifetime of making completely idiotic choices and getting back up off the ground :D along with a fair amount of time helping other people get up as well. I do my best to be forgiving and empathetic because I'm well aware of the magnitude of my own flaws. And despite what it might seem like here because of the amount of posting I do (a byproduct of sitting in front of a fast net connection all day) in real life I spend the majority of my time listening, not talking.

And for what it's worth, I've paid for tests as well as for some hospital care for TGs before, including several I didn't intend to sleep with. It's come back to me positively in a number of ways. There's playing the game, but there's also being true to who you are.

Seydlitz
03-13-03, 00:17
philo,

I'd hate to be a bore about these tests, but a flawed test taken repeatedly is just a series of flawed tests.

If you cannot deal with the (manageable) level of risk inherent to this hobby, then quit the hobby. Or indulge in low-risk behaviors, that can be rather satisfactory, like the famed balls massage ...

My advice is: do not submit yourself to the huge stress involved in repeated testing.

PurpleNGold
03-13-03, 00:36
Seydlitz. Your argument is flawed.

Every medical test is flawed to some degree. Ever heard of the Heizenberg Uncertainty Principle? Though it's statement is in terms of quantum physics, it applies to everything upon which physics is built. This includes Chemistry and hence medical testing.

The point is that if a test has a failure rate of 10% and you get a positive result, then you go back and take it again to be sure. No sense just going on with your life assuming you have some horrid disease simply because you didn't want to get another needle stuck in your arm.

And, if the second test disagrees with the first test, then you go get a third, fourth, etc. Until you feel comfortable with the results.

Joe Zop
03-13-03, 01:45
Ah, but this is not about the efficiency or accuracy of the tests -- this is that Seydlitz disagrees about the truth and accuracy of the entire HIV/AIDS argument, and thereby the viability of those tests on the face of them. I would suggest that particular conversation be continued in the Safe Sex arena, as it's likely to be long and heated, as it has been in the past. I think you've got a new sparrig partner, Seydlitz... :)

Seydlitz
03-13-03, 23:53
Joe,

nope, I do not feel like getting into a debate about this, heated or otherwise, the day before I fly back to LOS.

And my point WAS about the efficiency or accuracy of the tests, which are non-specific, i.e. they react to lots of other things than the one they are supposed to track.

This is what people call a "false positive". Happens all the time. Abbot, the makers of ELISA, say themselves that their test should not be used (alone) to diagnose an infection.

Now, of course, if you do not believe that there is such a thing as HIV, then ALL the results are "false positives"... But I did not say that, because in fact I do not know.

What seems to be a well-established fact is that those tests are indeed very very unreliable. And enduring the agony of repeated tests is a very unnecessary self-inflicted agony.

Seydlitz
03-13-03, 23:57
purplengold,

and there is another flawed argument: why would a negative result be more believable than a positive ?

If you get tested, and it turns out positive, you check again, and it turns negative. What then ? You test another time, and again, ... When does it stop ?

But if you get tested negative. Why shouldn't you test again, and again and again ?

Joe Zop
03-14-03, 02:31
Seydlitz -- I hope you enjoy the trip immensely. Guess I'm just misreading and mis-stating like mad in this section of late! :)

PurpleNGold
03-14-03, 08:05
Seydlitz. I personally, would get tested a couple times either way in that case.

It's not 'test untill you get the result you want'. It's 'test untill you're personally satisfied that the result is accurate.'

Philo
03-15-03, 08:52
I will not indulge in any discussion over testing....... I will merely state the following fact of logic:

Given the premiss that the illness exists and knowing the test's sensitivity (probability of correctly giving a positive result) and specificity (probability of correctly giving a negative result); it's a fairly simple calculation (using Bayes law and probability calculus) to determine (ex ante) how many tests are needed to put a limit to the probability of false positive and/or false negative test.

Strange mystery of CM?

When I was first looking for Pandora, I came to the wrong place: a MP located at the second floor of a large white building in Montri Road (Map: BB D11, at the 'Montri' text just over the camera sign). This place had a fishbowl with 30-50 young stunning no-makeup fresh girls. They all wore white health-worker-like outfits. Some of them were f***ing knitting! The closest I came to sex was 2h oil with a few erections at 600B. I tried to give a red to two different managers, but they both said no boom-boom. The cutie I picked from the bowl was as untouchable as an iron maiden.

What's the point of a fish bowl for non-sexual massage?

Joe Zop
03-15-03, 18:41
Dunno what the point is, but I've seen it elsewhere also. I've always wondered if it they were just Thai-only places where extras weren't there for farangs, places that wanted to keep their options open and could easily switch away from massage-only, or if there was just a cultural difference in terms of showing off the attendents. But I've no clue -- maybe Freeler knows.

just back from a week of atheletics in cm (well the int cricket sixes!!) did some very thorough research and can report the following.
bunny club - poor pickings, unless you like very fat dogs then you are in hog heaven!
stairway to heaven - otherwise known as the highway to hell!! great fun and passable. good range of young to not so young. us boss really tries to please with an arrangement of special evenings. our final party offered schoolgirls (actually the same girls in school uniforms!) imagine this in the us/uk it would be prison in minutes.
soapies very impressive from 1,400 - 2,000 if you go in alone. lots of fantastic babes and some mysterious back room babes from other countries - probably all **** so be warned.
verdict - it is not bkk but fun can be had.

You'll see them, of course, but they won't bother much with you unless you give them cause to do so. They'll usually board the buses from Mae Sai, for example, but they never give farangs a second glance.

Never got into the border action myself, but it's definitely there.

Chiang Mai is now a kind of sex desert... NOTHING interesting to do. The girls in the bar beers, either on Loi Khro (spelling ?) or at night market are either old or ugly or mother or often the three at the same time. I dare say 80 per cent of the girls have had kids (which means AUTOMATICALLY in Thailand, ugly boobs and belly).
Even at Spotlight A Gogo, which is supposed to be the upmarket one, I had difficulty to pick up an attractive one, and one in my room I discovered that she had awful flat tits. The belly and body in general was quite nice though, which did not make me suspect her maternity. Been 3 days in Chiang Mai, I have not a single place to recommand.

Erik -- used to be some beautiful young women in the beer bars along Moon Muang Road, particularly in and around the Muy Thai boxing area; you might want to check there. No question that the Chiang Mai scene is different than Bangkok or Pattaya and isn't to everyone's tastes -- and given that it's now low season a lot of ladies are elsewhere.

I know there is no raeason, but that is reality. Maybe the Chiangmai market is more for older and less picky clients... I don't know. I have of course been in the 2 places where there are bar beers and thai boxing, and the impression is the same.

Sorry you had bad luck -- I didn't find it that way in the fall/early winter, when I hooked up with several who were young, childless and good-looking. Not stunners in the sense of the two more popular areas, but definitely not ugly. Spotlight at that point had at least a dozen who were 21 or younger. No question, though, that the CM bars have a far, far higher concentration of TGs who have worked in the same place a long, long time and who tend to be older.

Honestly, I only saw (and did) one beautiful girl at Spotlight. All the other ones were well under avaerage, even if young, with no boobs, really not worth the expense, in Thailand. OK, if we were talking about whoring opportunities in North Korea, I would agree that Spotlight is a paradise, but not in Thailand !

Joe Zop
06-04-03, 15:20
Didn't say it was a paradise, but clearly there are differences in taste at work here -- first you complain that everyone was old and showing the effect of kids, now that maybe they are young but they're all all below average and have no tits. Chiang Mai is not Bangkok or Pattaya or even Phuket in terms of selection or scene, but the idea that there are only old or ugly women running around there is one I simply don't agree with. The general look of women in CM is different than the south, because there are fewer Issan women there, and it's a look you either like or don't, I guess.

Spotlight isn't Superbaby or Angel Witch -- not by a long, loooong shot -- but it's hardly going out and looking for the worst looking women in Thailand either. The absolute stunners tend to head south, because there's higher traffic and they can make more money, but there are still some to be found if you look. No, they're not hanging off the rafters everywhere, but by the same token there are probably more women to choose from in Nana Plaza alone than there are in all of Chiang Mai. Now, because CM women tend to push hard for longer-term hookups, lots of them either don't come into the bars at all once they've hooked up or disappear quickly if they do, but that doesn't mean they're not there. (My tilak there was in Spotlight for only a couple of hours during the days I was with her, and one of the locals bitched me out for hogging her. Tough luck, pal.)

Again, I'm sorry you didn't find it that way, but my experience was different than yours -- the two most absolutely beautiful women I was with my last trip were in Chiang Mai, though I was with a far greater number elsewhere. I did have the luxury of taking longer to look, as I was there for quite a while, but while the scene is definitely slower and of lesser selection that the higher traffic areas, I didn't find myself lacking choices.

Hi,

IMHO, Chiang Mai girl is the prettiest in Thailand. Most of them go to Bangkok to make a living.

Jing Jung
08-09-03, 13:04
I have lived in Chiang Mai for much of the past 11 years. Here some info to clarify some of the comments posted here.

Chiang Mai girls are very pretty and of all types. While it's true that many of the "good ones" go to work in Bkk for better money and to escape local detection, there are many left. They just tend NOT to work where the farang hang out! Those places draw the bottom of the heap.

For massage parlours, I would say without question that Sayuri has consistently best quality, though new places open from time to time. I always end up back there eventually. Local prices at Sayuri start at 750 or 850 baht -- can't recall which at the moment since I don't go often.

The places to find the prettiest working girls in Chiang Mai are the Karaoke bars of which there are dozens. These attract the freshest and they usually "go out for overtime" (referred to as O-T).

The problem is that farang who want to go on the cheap will generally not want to pay. Here's how it works int he KB's. You select from any of the girls. You then buy her a drink each 30 minutes. Prices vary based on the establishment from 70 to 100 baht per 30 minutes. This is actually VERY CHEAP compared to Bangkok where they can really kill you. However, it's of course more expensive than the beer bars.

Some of the places specialize in "no bra" or have two categories with or without bra. Prices will vary accordingly.

The girls are usually very service minded. They will sing or let you sing etc. You can generally grope to your heart's content.

If you want to take the girl out, you speak tot he Mamasan. Prices in Chiang Mai vary from 1,000 to 2,000 baht (definitely the hi end). Generally short-time (2 hrs).

The quality of the sex with these girls is however below that of the MP's. The girls often are not as experienced which is of course also part of the attraction.

Some of the notable KB's are Ten, Sinyu, Sayuri, Ai, Horikawa. There are however dozens of them sread through Chiang Mai. You can't miss them as the girls hang out in front of them at night. There are about 10 of them in a section called "Chiang Mai Land" alone.

Hope this adds to someone's adventures.

Although I was a customer at the MP's (5 of them; Sayuri at B 800) when I visited CM, I have never tried the karaoke places.

Next time I will ....

I have to agree with Jing Jung , I was in Chiang Mai about 6 months ago. I was lucky that my Thai driver is a single guy and he likes to monger with me. He will happily settle for some free beers or preferably whiskey and in return he helps me find all the best spots. We tried the beer bars, the girls looked pretty hard. So we tried the larger massage parlors and they had some of the prettiest girls I've seen in Thailand. Taller, lighter skinned, but very few spoke much English.

Finally we had a TukTuk driver take us to what he said were the best Karaoke bars. We got to pick our girls from about 15 really pretty girls, most in the 20's, and definitely not discards. My girl was about late 20's very friendly, but I chose her because she spoke a little English. One of the few, and my Thai and Lao is exhausted in a few sentences. Anyway I'm sitting there with my hands roaming all over her, since they wear these very loose fitting wispy karaoke uniforms, she has no objection to me playing with anything I can reach as long as it's not too obvious to everyone else in the bar.

We ask how much for short-time and she says 2,000B. So we sit there and sing and play until about closing time. Suddenly my girl calls out to a girl at another couch and this other girl comes over and sits on the other side of me. She says this is my sister who is about 20. So the next thing you know I've got my left hand full of a very large nipple and a full C-cup, definitely not natural, and my right hand is full of a very large nipple and a full, firm B+ natural cup, and my girl says we can both go with you for 3,500B?

I'm very sad because now it's about closing time and my spouse is waiting in the hotel for me. Plus I had to leave Chiang Mai the next morning.

I don't know that I will be able to find them again, probably not, but searching will be a blast.

I don't remember the name of the Karaoke place but it was fairly large karaoke bar on a main street. And the girls were definte northern Thai girls, young, very pretty, tall and fair skinned.

I have to admit that I am a bit reluctant to give out the best info, but I have gotten such good info from this forum for my travels to Hong Kong, Philippines, KL, and now tody in Spain) that I would feel quite ashamed not to!

The best quality in girls is generally to be found at Ten karaoke along the river. Don't try to find it on your own, but any tuk tuk driver would know. It's frequented primarily by Japanese and Thai's, but they are farang friendly as well. Several fo the mamas general speak English and will steer you right.

The Japanese come very early and take the girls out, usually by 9:00 pm. The p[lace opens at 7:30 and closes at 2:00.

Costs 100 baht per half hour for a girl to sit with you. They wear flimsy greek type gowns and no bra. Costs 2,000 to take a girl out (80% do OT; ask when selecting). They generally have about 60 girls on a given night.

Actually what also recommends this club is its excellent and honest managementy! Never been taken for an extra drink and they actually train the girls to give good service.

All of that said, these girls are NOT pro's in the sense of the gitls at MP's. You take your chances. But they are the prettiest and aim to please.

This is gettign too long, but I will report on other K-bars in Chiang Mai in the future.

A bit more to add on about the karaoke scene in Chiang Mai. I will say again that the girls at the K clubs are a whole different class from the girls at the bar beers and even from the MP's. Class of looks that is.

One area to investigate by Tuk Tuk is called "Chiang Mai Land." it's not walking distance from the Night Bazaar, but is only a relatively short t-t ride (5 minutes). About 15 clubs within walking distance of each other plus a coupl eo fdiscos, if that is your taste.

A note on K-CLubs. Some have a small hotel attached (e.g., Ten); for the others, the girl can recommend a cheap short-time spot, if you don't want to bring bnack to your room.

Note also that at some cluns (Ten) some girls do O-T, other don't. The mama will tell you. At some CLUBS the girls don't do O-T. The ones I ahve recommended here do, but check with the Mama before you get too excited about someone who won't go out.

Good luck.

Dear Jing Jung
how is spain. where are you and wha t are you finding

Jing Jung

Spain was really cool actually. i was only in Madrid, but the fresh, clean air reminded me of New England. A very refreshing change from the Thai weather.

I used the forum while in Madrid to check up on local action. VERY useful and relieved me (so to speak) after days of viewing museums and other cultural sites.

On the advice of forum members there, I visited a club called Flower Park -- a bar attached to a hotel (kind of an upscale Soi 7 Beer Garden with a hotel attached). Girls were all free-lancers but also attached to the establishment, paying a per day fee to the manager.

What made the place so cool was that there were girls from about 12 different countries (Spain, Barzil, Columbia, Venezuela, Italy, Rumania, Russia (but beauties, not like the ones here in Thailand), Hungary, Lebanon, Czech etc.). Price varied but generally about 3,000 baht for 30 minutes.

Girls were real lookers, excelletn quality. Quite a buffet, very tough to choose. I went several times.

After 12 years here (during which time I have not been with a Western woman), it was quite a change! Larger bodies, different scents, different experience. Made me want to stay on longer, though as soon as I got back home (here), that faded fast.

Apologies to all that this is off-topic. My excuse is only to reinforce tha value of the forum to locals who travel elsewhere!

Jing Jung,

I'm finally coming back to Chiang Mai in January. Only this time it's just me and my Thai driver/friend, doing a road trip all over Thailand. I'm coming back to find that girl and her sister for a two on one blast if I can.

Let me ask you a question, see if this rings a bell? The karaoke place I was in had a glass door entry into the middle of the bar. When you came through the outside door you were inside the entryway, and still outside the bar, but it's all glass so you can see the whole bar on both sides from this entryway? Does this sound like any of the places you've been? If so let me know a name and I'll be back there in january.

Thanks.

Sounds like Ten, but it has been remodeled and there are many such places such as you describe (quite generally).

Was recently in Changmai.
Unfortunately, I really did not do it quite as well as I might have hoped, but still had a good time. The first places I tried were the Karaokes next to Changmai Plaza hotel. Don't bother. I did, and wouldn't again. Not that i had a bad time, but the looks weren't up to snuff. I really didn't know where else to go at that point., unfortunately. The next night, we told the taxi driver to take us to a lady bar. He yapped something back, and off we go. Next thing I know, we are in some dark alley, and I start mentally putting my things in order, if you know what I mean. I then ask where the hell are we, and he say's "I take you to lady HOUSE." Apparently he thought the bar seen was a bit to unclean for a lad like myself, and decided to take me to an amateur establishment, where the girls work for a week or a night to make some extra baht. There was a lineup of about 15 girls, 6-8 in looks. Not a lick of English spoken. Still, a fun time. The last night was spent at the lady bar--Lisa'sBar, or Leslie's bar. My bud pulled out a girl the looked like Tia Carrerra in her prime. I'd say go to the beer bars myself, but others swear by the Karaokes. I must have been at the worst ones.

Still, all in all, plenty of action in Changmai.

Thanks for the report, ungman. I'm curious on two counts -- first, can you give a bit more on your karaoke experiences? Some description of the experience, perhaps, from a non-Thai speaking perspective? I went past those places for more than a month and never went in, and I've regretted that somewhat, especially since reading Jing Jug's posts. In the one Chiang Mai Karaoke I did go some of the TGs spoke a small bit of Japanese, but no English, and I was decidedly out of place, not having knowledge of the rules and process.

Second, do you have any idea where the driver ended up taking you? Even the general area of town?

Umgman
11-06-03, 01:06
I only walked into two karaokes. In one (I think it was called Luna) we were taken into a room to view a lineup. On one day, the manager there spoke flawless English, so the only probelm we had was the big cloud of ugly hanging over the girls. In the other joint, next door to the first, the manager spoke English like I speak Thai (not at all0 and didn't get the lineup concept. He just brought me a girl, and because of the language barrier, it wound up[ being a take it or leave it kind of thing. I took it--or rather, she did. I think 2000 B (expensive) .

I have not the vaguest idea where the driver took me, but I think if you ask for "Lady House" instead of 'Lady Bar" you might find the same kind of joint. It was fun.

I might add that the joiner fee to bring a girl to my hotel (Chang Mai Plaza) was 400 B.

All I know is, there were a lot of hot girls at the beer bars we went to.

11-06-03, 04:19
Hmm, very different from the place I went to, which was a Karaoke on the other side of the Chiang Mai President from the New Nancy massage place. It's actually a Karaoke that's in the attached hotel bar, so it has a rather different sensibility than the ones near the river, which are self-contained.

As far as quality -- Jing Jung mentions that the prettiest girls are taken out early. What time did you go in? I certainly saw some very attractive women as touts on the outside of the clubs you mention. My apartment brought me right past them every day, and I had a fairly good chance to see them in decent light. (Of course -- that was last year, so could be a whole new lineup!)

Jing Jung
11-08-03, 14:48
Luna and many of the Karaoke joints are as noted disappointing. The place across the street from the President Hotel is called Sinyu. Downstairs is a dance club, of sorts. Upstairs -- 4th or 5th floor -- is a no bra karaoke. The quality of the girls vary, but the place has been around for ages and is decent.

I still say that the best quality is at 10 karaoke. I personally don't waste my time at most of the other palces. At 10, the mamasans (some anyway) can deal with English speakers and will give good service, i.e., same price for all, no bullshit, very trustworthy.

After Ten Karaoke, I would say the next best place to try is Sayuri. The girls in the MP are generally the best in CM and they also have a Karaoke selection.

For those who ahve the patience, the hottest girls -- tons of them -- are at the various discos and dance clubs throughout the city. i can give some info but only limited since I don't like smoke, noise and lots of people. I also have only had limited success in these places.

Joe Zop,

Thanks for your info. I will test that price next time I am in CM. Are there other gogo bars there on the level of " Spotlight " ? My friends there took me to an upstair gogo ( 2 or 3 flights up ) that were mostly locals customers. Don't remember the name of the place, but did not like the setting or the girls as much. How about their Karaoke bars ?? Could it be fun for someone who can't speak thai but could bring my thai friends there to help translate/party ?? I agree that we should discuss this in the CM section. so I am going to post this same message there as well. Please reply in the CM section.

Thanks again for some very specific and useful info.

Tough Love, I suggest you spend a bit of time reading this section, as there's some very good info on Karaoke places, etc. I would presume you'd have a much better time in Karaokes with locals who speak the language -- with my pidgin Thai I found it difficult, as few of the TGs handled English much at all. A friend I have in CM who is fluent in Thai (and more well off than I am) said he enjoyed the Karaokes a great deal when he was on the prowl.

Spotlight is pretty much the best of the gogos in Chiang Mai, as options in that regard are fairly limited. If you're a gogo person, Bangkok, Pattaya, or Phuket are much better bets than Chiang Mai.

I'm curious about the other place you mention, up a couple of flights, as I've a feeling I might have missed it (though it might be the place attached to Sayuri, which I've never ventured into, as I've never made it past the fishbowl, LOL.) Any idea where in the city it's located?

Tough Love
12-03-03, 21:05
Joe Zop,

Can't tell which part of town that upstairs gogo was. I was being driven around by some locals. I don't think ou have missed anything because I did not find that place to be on par with Spotlight anyway. I will try the K-bar scene next time in CM. I did the K-bar scene in both HK ( very expensive but the girls are in the 9's and 10's ) and Dongguan ( China, near Shenzen, girls are 6's and 7's, but 75% cheaper than HK ) and found it very entertaining if you can communicate with the girls. It's really an ultimate GFE if that's what you are looking for.

Sayuri MP review

I tried sayuri MP yesterday. There were about 20 girls in the fishbowl but the girls come and go very quickly. So if you are looking for the best ones make a quick decision. I think overall they have about 40 girls. I went there about 7pm and i think thats a good time because if you come later it gets crowded. At first the young motherfucker papasan tried to quote me 1900 THB. I told him that my friend came here 2 days ago and only paid 800THB. Than he told me 900THB which was o.k. for me. I took a 25 year old with a great face but the body was average(No.65). First she washed me all over in the bathtub and then we proceed to the bed for some action. the rooms are quite nice and over the bed is a big mirror and you can see the action from above. BBBJ,DATY and hard FS on the menu. She was very clean but had an unshaven pussy (which is o.k. for me.i like them hairy). Overall it was a good experience and i can recommend it to everybody.

But do not go there with tuk tuk unless you want to pay the 500THB comission they get. Even if you stop at the corner and walk about 5 min the fucker wait for you in front of the MP. He thought i did not see him but i did. Rent a motorbike and go on your own. Have fun with these LBFMs.

Good going Kuranyi. I lived in Chiamg Mai and know the managers and staff very well. The actual local price is 700 THB but getting close to that is good. The service you get from the girls is memorable. Place runs like a train station so girls in and out. Tried the rooms with 2-3 girls at times. Let the manager pick the girls and he was right on point. They were all freaks. Makes you want to follow them home.

sure wish i had found this forum before my first trip to thailand last year. i probably would not have overpaid for the blowjob from the massage therapist at my hotel and might have known that the absolutely beautiful young lady at the go go bar was available for fun (i just thought she was being extremely friendly!)

i am heading back in march and am going to check out chiang mai this trip. can anyone help me with the following?

1. i am looking for a mid priced hotel with a small exercise facility (aerobic equipment and weights or machine), and spa/massage. if it was close enough to walk to the night life as well, it would be perfect.

2. i study martial arts and really enjoy attending the muay thai fights. are there any that are open to the public in chiang mai?

thanks much.

RCA Knight,

Where is the Chaing Mai Plaza Hotel ? did you stay there ? I am looking to book a hotel in Chiang Mai. I will be there from Feb12 on. Like to be close to all the night life and the karaoke bars you mentioned sounded interesting. Are the girls 8+ ? I like tall, fair skinned Chiang Mai girls. I was lucky at Spotlight Go Go when I was there last year.

Please advise.

Tough Love,

Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel is south of night bazar. Please check your map. It is a good hotel expect to pay about 2000 up a night. I never stay there. I always stay at Tapae Place Hotel on Tapae Road near night bazar, only 550 a night. Very good room. I also recommend Sayuri Massage at Bumrumgrad Road. Most girls are very good in technics. Only pay 800 bahts per session. If you are a new customer the papasan will try to quote you 1500 or 1800 but just don't ask the price and pay 800 at the counter. The karaoke bars near Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel have a few 7-8 but mostly 5-6, so go early for good stuff. Remember to shop around all 3 stores first. Sayuri has a karaoke too. Have to pay 800 bar fine and set the girl free for only 2 hours. Some girls will not go to bed with you, some will but will ask for about another 2000, so if you go to karaoke in Sayuri be sure to ask the girl if can sleep with her and how much. I took a very cutie out once from here, but she would not have sex with me. Only allow me to hold her. So ask first. I do not recommend Sayuri karaoke. The very cute ones are quite spoiled by rich Japanese customers who sometimes take them out to eat and drink without sex and pay them 3-4 thousand for tip.

Well, I thought I'd check out the massage places in Chiangmai a couple of weeks ago. It was late (around 12:15) when I arrived at Sayuri. The guy at the door said "sorry, we're closed". I don't know what this was about since I had just seen some guys go in moments before I arrived. The place sure didn't look closed, but he wouldn't let me in. I can speak Thai so language wasn't a problem.

Time was running short so I caught a Tuk Tuk to Pandora (I know I know the driver gets a big commission, but at that point I didn't care). Walked in and saw the fish bowl full of nice looking girls. about 20 or so. I took my time picking, and at the same time tried to bargain down from the 1800 baht price. Got down to 1200 and found a petite cutie who goes by the name "Bird" She didn't have a number and wasn't a sideline girl. Fantastic service. Nice bath while she used her tits to wash and massage me. After getting nice and clean she got down to business. A long slow BBBJ. While she was busy I asked if we could do "hok sip kaw" (Thai for 69). She was right into it. while trying all the other possitions she kept teaching me the Thai words for everything we were doing. When I finnished she kept hugging me and wanting to cuddle, even in the elevator. Almost a GFE. If I wasn't leaving the next day I might have tried to get her out of there for a few days.

6 October 2003 – Chiang Mai, Thailand

The lady owner of a bar in Chiang Mai tried to pick me up(!). She was probably in her forties, but her body was very slim, shaped and very firm, her English was good, she was smart, she was hot, and she seemed really nuts about me. I think she liked the fact that I could easily lift her off the ground, and I was not playing shy at all. The only thing that kept me from agreeing was that she did not finish work until 3am. I told her she would have to pay me 1000B as a joke. In retrospect I wish I had invited her to come knocking on my hotel door and wake me up. Four of her five kids were around - probably aged 15-23. It would be worth meeting her again.

Instead I went to Pandora(?), a massage/bath place, and enjoyed a 21-year-old, who was nice but I think the chemistry with the old gal would have made for a much more entertaining encounter. Got service at 12:45am, paid 2000 for 1.5 hour, good quality room, nice girl (Goi). I had tried Sayuri, but it was after midnight and the services seemed to be closed (a bar was open).

Just got back from Chiang Mai and BKK. As always, had a great fu#$%^%ing time. If you like gogos, go to Spotlight and say "hi" to Auy (#41) for me. She is the prettiest one there, IMHO. Tell her you are friend of "Jason from America" and she will take good care of you (or she will arrange a pretty girl for you). Mamasans (there are two of them there, forgot their names) are nice if you buy them drinks and give them a little tips afterwards (a couple of hundred bahts will typically make them real happy). I checked out the soapies and the karaoke bars there. Nothing nice. There are some private tel#s, but you have to be local to get them to send girls. C.M. is a great city, but compare with BKK, the action is a little thin. But I really like the people and the climate there. Be careful what you eat. I had two diarhereas when I was there. I think it's from the ice cubes (dirty drinking water) in my drinks or from roadside vendors. I would'nt spend more than a few days there if you were there mainly for the mongering.

As RCA Knight and Kuranyi report about the prices at Sayurai ... well, the same is true for Pandora, which IMHO is a much neicer establishment.

You can go for 1 hour for 800 Bt, or the normail 1 1/2 hours for 1,200 Bt. Honestly, unless you find a real stunner, better just take the 1 hour, go the full stretch, and then spend the rest of your bucks going back a second time!

Sideline girls sometimes take a little more (1,000 / 1,500), but not if business is slow.

Enjoy!

Mountain Guy, sorry, just saw your post, which is why I'm so late replying.

There are Muay Thai fights available in a couple of places in CM -- one is in the Old City beer bar area inside the moat, not far from the Montri Hotel, if I remember correctly. The fights I saw there ranged from pro-forma to incredibly vicious, mostly the former. There are also fights in a plaza along Loi Kroh road about midway between the Old City and the Night Market area. I never went to those, however, so can't speak to them, but they were generally more hyped.

As far as exercise facilities/massage, there are a number of places in CM that have them -- and most hotels will have massage of some kind. Check out http://www.chiangmai-online.com/hotels.html for a chart that gives rates and facilities info, and that is also searchable by area. (It's worth clicking on links to hotels you might be interested, as the actual rates are often different from those on the chart.) I've stayed at the Suriwongse Zenith, which is right across from the Night Market area, but I didn't use their exercise area.

Thanks Joe,

I booked the Suriwongse ($24 for std room) because it seemed close to everything. Decided to skip the train and fly to and from BKK on Thai Air for $104 round trip. The train sounds like an adventure, but the flight is only 70 minutes and time is of the essence.

I'll try to check out the muay thai in Chiang Mai. Thanks so much for the information.

For anybody go to Chiang Mai for short lady hunting trip. Do not take thai Airways. much more expensive. Now there is Asia Air. If you reserve early on the net(www.airasia.com)you can get 500 bahts one way. And Orient Thai is 999 bahts for one way anytime. Buy ticket at airport. Now short hunting trip is much more affordable.

RCA, good point. This is good info for anywhere Air Asia flies, including Phuket.

They're cheap and use the slogan "Now everyone can fly." Maybe they should change it to "Now everyone can monger." :)

You can now fly on Aisa Air to Chiang Mai for less than the cost of a second class train ticket. Air Asia is indeed a very good deal but, be cafeful about your luggagae, they have been known to even weight your carry on in a attemp to raise a few extra baht. So the best thing to do is to travel light.

I was planning to go to Chiang Rai for Songkran but one of my friend came to Thailand and requested me to take him to Chiang Mai for the weekend. So I did reluctantly. But it turned out to be a fun weekend. Just got back to BKK to avoid the big crowd .We stayed at the Pornping Tower hotel. Very nice room for 1200 bahts. The famous bubble disco is on the first floor. The day time I had to take him for sightseeing which I have been to so many times. Really a pain for me to go through these temples again. The first night I took him for a massage at Sayuri and then went to the Gigi disco. but could not get anyone. the second night was very interesting. My friend went to Bubbles and I hanged out at the lobby and the entrance of the disco for a while. Saw 3 girls sitting in the lobby of Pornping tower. I went to pick them up. One girl was very cute, big tits and nice body. And the second one very big tits, very white skin, the Chinese type. face so so but she wore low cut T-shirt and the boobs were so nice. the third one also has big boobs but sitting too far from me to have any conversation. They said they were waiting for a friend to go to gigi disco. And they invited me to go. I said I like to see them afterwards because my friend was in the Bubbles. The cute one gave me her number.

Then I went into Bubbles and could not find any nice babe. my friend had found a so so lady to talk to. I again went out to the lobby. And the Chinese looking one with nice tits saw me and asked me to go pick up a friend with her in her car. So i went with her driving her brother's old VW to find her friend. Went to a small pub but she could not find her friend. She told me her friend owes her 1000 bahts. So she was disappointed and turned back to Porn ping. On the way back I said she was very sexy and nice body and started to touch her. She did not resist and drive on. When we get to the parking she called the other 2 girls on the fone to go to Gigi together. And she asked me to lend her 200 bahts to buy some drinks and I said ok I touched her tits I will buy her drinks. So I gave her. Her friends came and saw me touching her and they did not know whats going on. I told them to come see me after disco and have fun party together and they told me to call at 2 AM.

So I went back to Bubbles again to see whats there. Nothing and my friend and the lady had gone to the room. And he called me sorry to open another room. He will stay with the lady tonight. So at 2 am I called the girls. And they said they will come see me. I opened another room and they came. Only 2. the 3rd one did not come. And I started to touch the Chinese one's tits again. I said I like to touch both of them and will give them 1000 bahts each for gift. they looked at each other and think.I said Lets get naked and hug together. Gave them 1000 each. They took off the clothes and got in bed. Both were very shy. I think they maybe never did this before. Maybe I am the first person to offer them money like this.

I fingered both of them. I actually like the cute one, not the Chinese one. I fingered the cute one very good. And I said can I sex with you. She did not say anything. So I put on a condom and started. The Chinese one turned the other way. I was so tired could not get hard. so I started to jack off on their body. The Chinese one she wanted me to pound her too. But I can not get hard anymore. And I only jacked off and came. We huged together some more. And they said they want to go home sleep. And the Chinese one asked me to help her 1000 bahts more to pay for her something tommorrow. So I did . So all together I gave them 3000. They are very amatures and I think I am the first devilish guy to tempt them with some cash .These 2 girls still have no idea how much they worth. If go to a massage or karaoke for these 2, I think very easy to pay up to 5 or 6 thousand. Both 19 and students and both very nice body.
But i regret I could not come by pounding them. Too tired from taking my friend to all the temples. I called my friend the next morning and went for lunch and then we decided to head back for BBK to avoid the Songkran crowds. Very nice to have two 19 years old babes and hug together. But I am sure these 2 will learn very soon the game and learn how to cash in from the guys.

RCA Knight,

You're probably not the first to rent these girls - why do you think they go to the disco? Also you paid more than enough at 1500 per girl, even for Chiang Mai - admittedly not the cheapest place in Thailand. Five or six thousand would be way too much and would have more to do with the willingness of the customer to overpay than the quality of the girl.

RCA Knight,

Perhaps they were not shy, just amazed. Amazed that someone would throw money at them like that.
And I bet they are still laughing... Getting B3000 from a guy who didn't even fuck them.
Damn, I'm laughing tioo!

Where is this Gigi disco you mentioned? Is this the "Thai-style" one next to Bubbles or??? I 4th what the previous 3 said, but nevertheless, sounds like a nice score!

Gigi is across the river. A huge disco. Take a tuk tuk or songtel from night bazaar only 20-30 bahts. This place is mostly normal girls or amatures. Very packed on weekends. Play underground, hip hop, trance, house, all sorts. I have been there 2 times in the past. Did not bring back to hotel anybody but I was not trying too hard.

Everyone has differentt interests, but I went to Chiang Mai for five days during my LOS trip last month and really liked it. I enjoyed the slower pace, lack of pollution, and laid back lifestyle. I did a three day trek, saw the sights, did a little mongering. I agree that the mongering opportunities are better elsewhere, but I still had a great time.

I started with a foot massage at Let's Relax and the cutie flirted with me and asked me to come back for a full massage, so I did the next day and got a BBBJTC (masssage: 500, blowjob: 1,000). This cracked me up as the Lonely Planet guide book recommends this place by name because it is "very professional".

After getting back from my trek, I went to Bubbles and didn't see anyone worth taking out, so I went to Spotlight. They had eight dancers, two were nice and one was model material--#74--small, young, very pretty, perfect body (IMHO). It took me a while to get her attention and she couldn't speak much English, but I wanted her in a big way. She wanted 1,800, so I went for it and paid the 500 bar fine (300 special after midnight). Took a tuk tuk back to my hotel, she wanted to shower alone, asked for and got a very short blowjob, wouldn't do DATY, so I covered up and went for it. She was so unresponsive that I considered checking her pulse, but she was so cute that I eventually got off. She hung out, but we had trouble communicating, so I told her I had to meet someone and we left. Wish I had gone for the less cute, but much friendlier one.

Went to two karaoke bars and nothing was happening, so I headed to a muay thai fight (the fights were a joke--staged, with little contact) in the plaza a couple blocks from the night bazaar. Sat at the open air bar next to the ring and ordered a beer and the waitress (Ping, 25, tall, thin, a 6-7) said "you no friend tonight?". She came back with my beer and sat down, so I offered to buy her a drink. She smiled and came back with a fruit juice and said "drink make me sleepy". I asked her to leave with me and she said she had to work until 11. She asked and got off at 10:30, stopped for something to eat and I asked if she'd like to come to my hotel. She just smiled, so off we went. She never mentioned money and I was afraid of insulting her by asking how much, so I just went with the flow, started slow, kissed awhile, undressed her (no showers), DATY (which she really enjoyed--wet and lots of little noises), and the main event. Afterwards, we stayed in bed, cuddled, and watched television. I left 1,000 on the next to the TV while she was in the bathroom, but it was still there when I got out. Eventually got dressed and walked through part of the night bazaar. I offered to buy her a gift or shirt and she didn't want anything. Later, she said she lived at home with her folks and had to leave. I offered to pay her fare and she let me (50 baht). Kissed her goodnight and that was it. I still can't figure out if she was a pro offering a freebie to a 45 year old, if I was supposed to force some money on her, or if it was actually a date.

Wanted to see her again but was flying back to Bangkok the next morning. I plan to try the beaches next year, but I'd return to Chiang Mai again for a few days. Thanks again to Joe Zop for all your help.

That experience happens more than you think. I am not particularly surprised at your experience. I think sometimes, they want to show themselves (and you) that they have dignity and money is not everything.

I had a similar experience 5 years ago in BKK at a restaurant at the Hyatt in Sukhumvit. I managed to get her the next 3 days off. I then had a wonderful time which left me 2500 USD poorer in gifts, proper shows and clothes. Not once did she asked for anything. The sex was gentle and not all that "professional". The only problem was she made me move hotels.

I think you were on a date.

Joe Zop

Great to hear you enjoyed yourself, MM, and I agree with ManonsanBoy that your kind of experience does happen at times, and it can be particularly so if the TG is hoping to hook up for longer term.

Sorry to hear the Muay Thai bouts were disappointing -- I suspected that might be the case, as it's been that way in a lot of the touristy places I've been in LOS.

What did the flirter at Let's Relax look like?

Mountain Guy,

"very professional".
For once the LP was right!

"Wish I had gone for the less cute, but much friendlier one."
When will people learn...???

I've had some good results with waitresses myself, the last time in Phuket in January. It seems that women actually want sex too:). She came to my room after work, in the middle of the night.
Be nice to waitresses, don't (over)tip like a firsttimer and see what cums up...

ManonsanBoy,

2500 USD in three days?!
I sure hope... typo?

ManonsanBoy
04-15-04, 11:06
Freeler

Not a typo. That included my share of the expenses which I guess amounted to around 500 USD, i.e. my share of the restaurants, shows etc etc. I drank some good wines.

But is was amongst the best 3 days of my life. Certainly, they were amongst the most memorable.

Looking back, and recalling all the interactions between us, I have absolutely no regret about the expense.

She spoke good English and there was good communication. I saw BKK in the best possible way. She gave me a number to call which I did 7 days later and it was a non operative.

Sometimes, it is not just the money which was what I was trying to say..........

Joe Zop
04-15-04, 15:11
At that kind of spending for gifts, clothes, shows, etc. she'd certainly darn well better not have been asking for anything! But, hey, if you got the scene you wanted, and you don't regret the money, so it goes. There are a lot of different levels of experience and expense possible, even though we mostly talk about the most normative ones here.

Joe,

The flirty MG at Let's Relax was Suenon. During the foot massage, she kept asking if I was sure I didn't want full body massage, so I figured I might get offered an extra. She was so, so--probably 30, dark complexion, fuller figure than most thai women, cute face, but crooked teeth. She has small and firm tits (she lifted her top and let me play with them during the blowjob) and gave great service. She only offered a hand or blow job, so I don't know if they offer full service there or not.

Freeler,

I'm still happy I took the beauty, even with her starfish performance. I haven't been naked with anything that perfect since I was a teenager!

I am travelling to Thailand in December for the first time and would like to find out what hotel to stay at in Chian Mai fo rabout 4 -5 days. I would like somewhere close to the action that is not more than 1500 baht per night.

Any other info such as places ot go to catch some action would be appreciated.

Snow,

I stayed at the Suriwongse Hotel, which is close to the Night Bazaar and a nice walk or short tuk tuk ride to the nightlife (or as Lonely Planet calls it, "Prurient Nightlife". It was 960B for a standard room with breakfast and I was pleased. It is lady friendly--the doorman smiled as he opened the door when I brought the lovely ladies back for fun.

If this is your first trip to Thailand and you are truly interested in "action", you should spend part of your trip in Bangkok or other areas where there is much more mongering activity than Chiang Mai.

As for "other places to go", read the previous posts or PM me with what it is you are looking for. I went on a several day trek (elephant riding/hiking/hill tribes) while I was there and enjoyed it. Others might find it boring and wasting valuable mongering time.

In between reading the garbage from the usual suspects, Skinless is having a nice time here in Chiang Mai, now that the garbage are gone to write their poetry (sic) elsewhere. I am staying at Sumit Hotel near Thapae gate (250 b with fan). This is the best and most expensive place I have stayed in so far. I am spending today getting massages (100 bt an hour at the temple around the corner and more expensive at the disabled joint which is on the same street as Sumit.

Later on, I hope to post some photos of some of the animals I have shared rooms with: lixards and frogs mostly. Yesterday, I ate at an open air restaurant near Sumit. Soo too did several sparrows who tucked in when the waitress was off doing soemthing else.

I also spent a few hours last night talking tosome Indonesian hookers here, just outside Sumit. Nice looking. But I am still low on batteries. That should change very soon.

Chiang Mai Dosabled Center: 133/1 Rajapakinai Rd, same road as Sumit Hotel. I got agood straight massage from Noi, 150 bt an hour. She is almost bond as a result of an accident in which she lost her husband and child. Worth supporting IMHO, just to show how lucky weare and how much shit they have to absorb.

Yes, let's have a photo collage of all your nonpaying roommates. I think that's be great. I have a few pics of Pattaya and Bangkok rats, but can never get them to stand still long enough, or to say cheese.

That's an interesting massage place. They train people with disabilities for a sustaining career. That's a worthy endevour, and I've never heard of such things in the massage field before. I did see an article about a guy who repaired electronics in the Bangkok paper.

Jaimito Cartero,

I believe that in Malaysia you must be blind to become a masseuse.
This has more to do with the misconception that blind people don't fuck, hj and bj than with training 'people with disabilities for a sustaining career'.

Jaimito Cartero,

I've been to ChiangMai for very short stays only. Hence I'm not qualified to give out expert and in depth information, but yes, there is a lot to do in and around CM - it's just not my kind of town.
But CM is an easy town to move around in: good public transport and an easy lay out.
You can get there by plane or rail from BKK or by bus from BKK, Pattaya and many Eastern and NorthEastern cities.

Joe Zop
05-01-04, 14:44
JC, there is plenty to do both in and around CM. As has been noted elsewhere, the number and overall level of ladies there is not the same as Bangkok or Pattaya, but there is an easily available night scene, multiple massage parlors, etc.

Skinless
05-16-04, 01:26
Disabled Center, as prviously posted. Worth supporting. The lady in the middle gave the massage ( no sex and don't ask). The lady on the left has a foot instead of a hand. She does laundry. The dude does internet.

W_king,

Thank you for your advice. Seems every photo posted now people call lady boy. I only posted a photo of a gate! If you ever go to Nong Khai en route to Laos, the top hotel is owned by a very glamorous lady boy. Her photo is all over the tourist promo literature for the city and the TAT will inform you of her mixed gender. I give all my employees a good work over. To me, buying a woman is just like buying a horse. I check the teeth, the gums, the legs, between the ass cheeks and of course, whether the mare is a mare or not. So far,no problems, touch woodener.

There is a girl in Chiang Mai that works at "Johns Place" bar named Nue (aka Nedchita). She is cute and has a sort of Chinese-Thai look. Does anybody have any info about her? Does she go with customers? Is she crazy in the head?

Jaimito Cartero

Well, I arrived in Chiang Mai last night with no problem. I took my first domestic Air Asia trip, which went pretty smooth. I only got my tickets 2 weeks ago, but still only paid 2460 baht RT. I think you can just about cut that in half if you book further out.

If you ever flown Southwest Airlines, this is pretty similar, but no free anything. The flight attendants are quite nice though, and even the refreshments are only 30 baht. The seating is slightly tight, but I have yet to be on a full flight, so have always had an empty seat beside me.

I went to Walking Street today (Tha Phae) and checked out some of the wares for sale. I saw the vendors start to pack real quick (about 6pm), and thought they knew something I didn't. A quick look up showed dark clouds moving in.

I kept going and soon felt a big old raindrop smash into my head and thought I should look for cover. Another 20 meters and it looked like the scene from Forest Gump when he was in the rice paddies. I went into some sort of Thai Karoke bar to get out of it. I don't think it has comfort girls, and it was still early.

I think I'll catch the red baht-bus thingy back to my hotel, and then later check out some of the beer bar or gogos mentioned here before.

Jaimito Cartero
05-25-04, 14:17
After leaving Walking Street, I went and got an hour massage by the Thae Pae gate (100 baht), Thai massage, 1 hour. I had no idea where Spotlight was, so got a Song Tao and asked how much to take me. I thought I got a good deal at 10 baht. He drove about 150 meters and stopped. Guess I learned something new. :)

Went into Spotlight and thought the quality of girls was good. Seemed to be about 25 or so total girls working in the bar (12 dancers?). I'd say most were in the 5-8.5 range. I saw the #41 that someone mentioned, looked nice, but the name she gave seemed to be different than what was posted.

Bought a few lady drinks, but nothing clicked too much. Of the three girls I asked, they all seemed to be non-"smokers". Hmmmm. Finally found one that was agreeable, but I just didn't connect with her. Took off as they were closing.

The next night after booking my tour for today, I went to check out some beer bars that I had seen in the area of the Mall. (Chiang Mai mall?). I walked back, but noticed that most of the women seemed to have adams apples and manly voices. Instant u-turn.

Next to the beer bars was a gogo called Foxy Lady. A small club, but I decided to check it out. Reasonable drinks, 70 baht lady drinks, 400 baht barfine. Probably only 12 girls working. Saw some very nice looking ones already with customers, but nothing out of the ordinary otherwise.

Finally I saw one of the dancers go up and she was really grooving. She looked quite cute, and I decided, what the hell. I invited her over for a ladydrink. She was friendly, but not overly so. I wasn't sure I was going to take her at this point. She went up to dance, and I talked to another girl (with chinese tattoos), who looked older, but looked nicer. She told me she was "blushing", which I finally figured out was menstruating. She said the other girl was very good, so I said what the hell.

Ern wanted 1500 st, which wasn't going to happen. I offered 1000, and she was set. She had a motorscooter, and off we went the couple of blocks to my hotel (Royal Lanna). She wasn't a starfish, but she seemed a bit shy. (They're all shy, I know.)

She loosened up with some moderate dfk, and seemed to thoroughly enjoy DATY. No hurry on anything. I then asked her to smoke, and she of course said, 'I no smoke'. Ooops. Guess what I had forgotten to ask. We move to the main action, and it goes pretty well. She's a bit camera shy naked, but loves to pose when clothed.

Attitude 6, body 7.5, skill 5. I don't know that I would repeat, but everything was basically fine. I'll post the pics when I get back to the states in a few days.

I took the full day Elephant camp, rafting, ox cart tour today. I was a bit dubious that I wouldn't do the elephant permanent harm, but the booking agent said no problem.

Even though I had been up with Ern until 3am or so, I got up at 7am and got ready for the tour. I'm sure most of you Chiang Mai veterans have done it before. 800 baht from 8:30am-4:00pm.

The elephant riding was the most fun, about an hour or so. I really thought either I or the elephant were going to fall down/off. It worked out fine though, and was a bit of a hoot in reality. I guess I'm easily amused.

Expect to spend 100-400 baht additional in bananas, sugar cane, photos of you and your noble steed ("You hear that Shrek, he called me a noble steed"!), plus tips to drivers, etc.

You get a decent buffet lunch, and after the lunch, it's pretty much taking you to the Elephant dung paper maker, Orchid/Butterfly farm which is just trying to sell you stuff. (To be honest, most of the tour is about selling you stuff, but you get a lot more value out of the Elephant, rafting and ox cart parts.)

It was interesting to see locals wading into the river to sell you hats and trinkets. Even lowering prices when you're about to float away. On the oxcart trip, one little 5 year old girl chased after a cart in front of me for about 200 meters, trying to get them to buy something. They finally bought a couple of bracelets. That kid is a born salesman!

Even though it's a bit hokey, and we can talk about chaining up Elephants and other cruel things, it was worthwhile in my view. I think you can just ride the elephants if you want. I was quoted 500 baht an hour, so that might be another option.

Jaimito Cartero,

Belive me or not but we were not only at the same elefant camp - we were there the same day! I remember the man on the photo with a group from Switzerland, I guess. Me and my friend ware white hats and ride the same elefant in the end of the line.

The world is small. The owner mr. Udomsak meet us at the Royal Princess Hotel in the morning and took us back in the afternoon. He is a friend to my friends sekretary. (Sorry for bad english).

We had two incredible days and nights in Chang Mai. Unfortenally we took the boring nighttrain which was a waste of time. We didn´t sleep an hour. My friend insist because he wanted to take some photos in the morning, but it wasn´t wearth it. We saw more beatiful nature later up in the north.

I was horny after a night without a lady and a ok 35 yo massagelady asked me to come in. I went in and my friend went to hotel to get some sleep. She wanted 300B and asked later I wanted two ladies for 500. Said ok. You shall never die curios. Later again she wanted 500B extra for a HJ and of course I said no. But as the situation was I offer her to fuck me for that money and she agreed at once. The other lady went out and coming back with condoms and the show started. She was absolutely not a pro, but she liked it and even me.

After a little sleep even for me, we hired a taxi to show us whats going on in the city. We checked Pandora, Ping Payong (?) and Sayuri. The time was only 2 pm and we went in to Sayuri. After 15 minitues it was only 5 girls there and about 8 customers. My friend choiced a nice girl and I have to wait for next cutie. This was my first soupie and it was ok, but not more. A little bit too much mechanic for me. 2000B.

Then we took it easy and have some dinner before we went to Spotlight, thanks WSG. 12- 15 girls and some of real good onces. My friend went away with one girl after two beers. The girl I choiced didn´t want to go to the same hotelroom (we shared room!!!) so we took in to a SThotel for 200B. She wanted 1000B and I said ok even if I know it´s an overprice. She was goodlooking but the hour a little mechanic even this time.

When I come back to the hotelroom was My friends lady still there. Asked him to move her over - but he was in love! What a buddy. But wait until the next night.

After the elefanttrekking and drafting we had some sleep and I went out to change battery to my watch. We had a late bad dinner at a pizzahouse. Took a walk and talked to a mamasan at a karakoebar. The girls should have 2000B only for go dancing or restaurant etc., but not go to hotels. It was very cute girls but we just thanks for the coffe and went to Spotlight a GoGo again. My friend was not in the mood and went back early while I was looking at two lovely ladies and wondering who I would pick up. Both of them feeled that I was interested and when one of them danced, the other pointed at her friend like she would asked me if I wanted her. Now I made a good mistake. I answered pointing and her And the other as wanted to say that I wanted ONE of them. Both ladies was screaming of happines and came to me and said: "Thank you, that you want both of us":-).

What to do, it was only to play the game and they was very funny and happy, so why not me. Their name is Nee and Tik and are sisters, 20 and 26 yo. Don´t remember their numbers. They told me early that their mother should come to town at 3 am. I paid barfine 200 each and 6 tequila and some beers for me.

We went out and they asked me if I could drive a motorcar. In Changmai- no problems so the sweeties sat up behind me and away we went.

No problems for them to go to the same hotelroom as my friend was sleeping in. He actually was not sleeping, he was watching news on TV. But said is said and the clothes fall into the floor and they started to give me a hell of a BJ. My friend is now really horny and tries to get a lady in his bed - but the sisters said no! They said they didn´t know him so much that they know me. Aren´t they too cute.

I must admit it was not a perfect siuation, but I don´t think I have laughed so much when boomsin in my hole life. The sisters laughed a lot too in the beginning but then they got focusised and gave me a jearney I never forget. It was much hussle with chanching condoms under the TV- news so I was most concentrated on one of them but the other assist in a very good way with dirty talk, hands and lips. Not at all shy for my friend who of course watching the act.

When the show was over I just paid 500B to the one I never fucked and when she understood that she wanted to take off the clothes and continue. But then I had not power left and problems with focusing. They accept and I followed them to teir motorbike.

Took a photo of them on their motorbike when they left. I forgot to use my my brand new Pentax Optio S4i and not only that, I delete of mistake three quarter of the picture from the first 8- 9 days of 14 in BKK, CM and Pattaya.

It was only 1.30 am and I wanted a beer to calm down a little before I go up and chat with my friend. Much happens in the bar I visit, but I came out before they locked me in. On the way back to the hotel I met a lady 26yo who begged me take her with me. I said no and declare the whole situation with the sisters and my friend in the room, but she insist. I told her that she could follow if she would be quiet and a good girl who gave me a BJ until I was sleeping. She must have been real hungry. She was not beatiful at all. I guess face 5, and the same for body but a attitude closer 9. She followed the ugly man to his room and stayed there all night. She was keeping on in hours and went away in the morning while my friend was showering, very greatful with 500B in her hand.

Yes gentlemen, this was only two nights of the twelve - in lovely Chang Mai. I will go back, for sure. But the nights in Pattaya wasn´t bad them eather. If I have tim I will type down a little more. The problem is that I only wright down what happened in the beginning and after that I needed the time for relaxing, sleeping and eating. This was only my second trip to this beatiful country. I came back this morning and I´m going back in august for 4 weeks.

Have a nice weekend.

i’ve just returned from spending five days in chaing mai. it was the first time i’ve been up north, and i highly recommend it for anyone looking to escape the touts and just enjoy the warmth and hospitality of the thai people in an urban setting. chaing mai is the second largest city in thailand, about 170, 000 people. other advantages include lower prices and much cooler nighttime temperatures than bangkok.

i didn’t make this trek alone, i’ll call my traveling companion issanbeauty. she is one of those girls that has ‘the look’, the type that makes your knees buckle slightly when you see her for the first time. issanbeauty is a 21 year old from chaiyaphum. she quit as a university student as soon as she was old enough to support her family, despite being in the top third of her class. as the primary bread winner, she was constantly checking condoms for leakage, and claimed to have two break on her. “i don’t care if i die, ” she told me, “i care that no one will take care of my family.”

many thai girls are uncomfortable about displaying emotions in public, but not issanbeauty. this girl really has a lot of self-confidence. while waiting in the boarding area at bangkok airport, she locks arms at the elbow, pinches my cheek, kisses me , and rubs my belly. “my pom pui man”, she calls me.

about 70% of the travelers are farangs, there are one or two other thai-farang couples, but not with nearly a 30 year age difference. we may blend in on the lower sukhumvit, but not in this crowd. carrying on like a couple giddy newlyweds, we draw lots of attention. no one looks shocked or appalled, just curious.

after the one hour flight, we check in the chaing mai gate hotel, a three star property in the southern part of the city, just south of the moat that surrounds the inner city. not the best proximity for p4p, action, but that’s not an issue. at the tour desk, we register for the elephant safari, at 900 thb/person, for the following day. in the evening, we tuk tuk to the night market, where a collection of restaurants encircle an outdoor dining area, much like at phuket patong. the tiger prawns are very tasty. issanbeauty suggests i take her to visit her hometown of chiyaphum, a mid-sized town near khon kaen, instead of later going down to pattaya alone. an intriguing idea, but i didn’t come here to devote myself to one woman. “is no good for me, ” i tell her. “a bar girl has very ‘cold heart’. i’ll fall in love with you, but to you, i’m just your atm.” she gives me a most puzzled look , i don’t think she’s heard this one before. then, she mutters what seems to be one of her favorite phrases: “fuck off, bob.”

in the morning, we’re picked-up by the tour bus at 8:30. we collect three other couples along the way: a 30ish swedish couple, a 30ish european couple, and a 60ish egyptian couple living in canada, besides ourselves: a fifty year old american and 21 year old thai.

after introductions, the guide begins her presentation. “chaing mai is called the ‘rose of the north’ and produces the most beautiful women in thailand. then, turning to me, she says, “i see not everyone here agrees with that.”

a one hour drive along highways 107 and 1069 brings us to the mae sa elephant centre. issanbeauty is really in her element here . i purchase a bunch of bananas and sugar cane for 20 baht, hoping to capture a picture of her feeding them. she screams as one reaches out with it’s trunk and grabs the food before either of us is ready. more elephants are frolicking in the river. one is submerged up to the neck, and appears to be doing a breast stroke. as the elephants emerge from the river, some spray with their trunks, as if it’s the songkran festival. issanbeauty quickly back-peddles to avoid getting wet, then yells ‘oweeee’ as she nearly trips over a large pile of dung.

we take a seat in the bleachers for the one-hour elephant show. the giant mammals stand up on their back feet, then on their right feet, on their left feet, and finally, on their front feet. one large elephant picks up a soccer ball and boots it over the concession hut. another tosses a basketball at a makeshift hoop. the ball hits the backboard and bounces off the rim. gee, i could have made that shot.

the highlight of the day is the one-hour elephant ride. issanbeauty and i climb into the cockpit, a small wooden bench perched atop several layers of blankets, and strapped around the animal's mid-section. a rope is tied across to hold us in. our driver, the elephant trainer, sits atop the animal's head with his ‘hook’, used to control the elephant, much like the horse jockey’s whip. as the elephant starts to move, we grab onto the metal frame of our seats, initially feeling very insecure.

our elephant wades up-river and crosses into a forest. issanbeauty spots a familiar variety of tree and instructs the trainer to navigate the animal so we can pick the branches, which contain small, purple berries that are quite bitter, but edible. issanbeauty sings thai songs to entertain us.

our caravan proceeds up and down hills, and across several large, muddy pools of water. the animal immediately before us, evidently quite a mischievous rascal, manages to ‘throw’ his trainer into one of the pools of water. the trainer climbs back aboard, soaking wet, embarrassed, and steaming angry , and whacks the ill-behaved beast several times with the hook. ouch!

back at the center, the next leg of the tour is the bamboo rafting. as fate would have it, we’re assigned to share a raft with the swedish couple. this prompts issanbeauty into one of her ‘i no like my dark skin’ raps. come on sweetheart, give us a break .

we float downstream for 40 minutes, but it’s too hot to enjoy. we dock and board an ox cart for a 20-minute ride to a resort where we’re to be provided with a thai-style buffet lunch. the ride was not very enjoyable, especially on the backside .

during lunch, i ask issanbeauty if her name really means ‘watermelon’, as our guide had claimed. i take a large piece of the watery fruit, pick out the seeds, and allow it to slowly dissolve in my mouth. “mmmmmm”, i moan, while making goo goo eyes at her .she leans over and punches me in the arm while the other couples, watching us, drop their jaws .

the afternoon’s activities include a visit to a factory where paper is manufactured from elephant dung, and a visit to a very lovely orchid farm.

in the evening, we go back to the night market for dinner. issanbeauty is very interested in my ancestry, so i tell her i’m one-quarter irish, scottish, german, and norwegian. “i fuck the world!, ” she boasts.

friday morning, i rent a suzuki cariban 4wd for a drive up the nearby mountain to wat prathat doi suthep, one of northern thailands top attractions. it takes about an hour to ascend the mountain road to the temple, more than a thousand meters above the city. after parking, i purchase 35 baht cable car tickets because issanbeauty refused to attempt the 300 step staircase. “lazy girl”, i complain.

the ‘golden temple’ is quite impressive, with magnificent views of the city and countryside. at the center, is a copper stupa flanked by huge ornamental umbrellas. issanbeauty shows me how to light candles and burn incense as an offering, and make a wish to the buddha. inside, a monk ties a string around my wrist for good-luck, and gives me another string to tie on issanbeauty.

we enjoy some mango and pineapple in the parking lot, then continue to ascend the mountain. the next stop is phuping palace, the winter residence of the royal family. the grounds are very nice, but hardly approaching the overindulgence of the palace at versailles. very modest by standards of monarchy, i’d say. it’s no wonder the thais love their king.

we sit for awhile on a bench in the rose garden. “what you wish for from buddha?” she asks me. i tell her, “i wished that you would love me.” “no love thai man. no love falang, ” she states very emphatically, “only room in my heart for my family. i only want your money.” isn’t such honesty refreshing?

it’s getting late into the afternoon, i want to continue up the mountain to the hmong hilltribe village, but issanbeauty is much less enthusiastic. “let’s go have a look, ” i tell her.

the road deteriorates significantly to the village, which resembles something from another century. the street is lined with small shops selling handicrafts, while opium poppies grow on the hillside. i find some fascinating stuff in the shops while issanbeauty, who complains about a headache and wants to leave, returns to the car.

key chains made from a tiger’s tooth, elephant paperweights made of ivory, what great christmas gifts, and for $4 or $5, with some bargaining. by the time i’m finished shopping, issanbeauty is really pissed off. she won’t speak to me during the 90 minute drive down the mountain. issanbeauty is giving me the silent treatment, but she finally opens her mouth when i make a wrong turn back to the hotel.

in our room, i reach into my bag and pull out a bottle of aleve. “take these, ” i tell her. a half hour later, her disposition is radically different. “you have very good medicine, ” she tells me, and starts rubbing my crotch. “you horny?” she asks.

taking advantage of her mood, i unbuckle my belt and drop my pants, and she gives me the full treatment. i barely have enough energy left to stagger into the bathroom and cleanup afterward.

for dinner, she orders issan food from the hotel, but i can’t taste it. sort of like putting burning embers in my mouth.

i awake saturday morning and practice my usual routine: lean up against issanbeauty’s magnificent naked body. i run my hand down her back and gently squeeze her tight butt, like mr. whipple testing the charmain. then, i reach around and rub her pussy. since i’d left my passport as a deposit on the car, i wasn’t able to cash traveler’s checks and hense, hadn’t paid issanbeauty for the previous day. “no touch my ass. no touch my pussy, ” she says, “you no pay. go get my money and i fuck you.”

i pull plastic from my wallet and explain that i don’t need money, i can have anything i want just by signing for it. “no want credit cards. no want atm. just want money. go get my money, ” she commands. i don’t believe she’s really serious, and think if i hang in there, she’ll cave in. and she does.

this time, however, i hump, hump, hump but nothing comes. she gets the body lotion and gives me a nice hj, but i’m still dry. “why you no cum?” she asks. i explain that i’m old, and have been doing one, two, and three shots per day for two weeks. i need a day to refill the tank.

today, i wish to visit the zoo, and stop at an atm along the way. the big buzz at the chaing mai zoo are the panda bears, who just arrived in october. we need a special ticket, and have to stand in line, but they’re very cute.

with one picture left in the camera, we head for the tiger habitat. a tiger is sleeping in the grass, too far away to capture on film. “meow. meow.” issanbeauty gives her big cat impersonation. the tiger just raises it’s head and looks around, as if to say: wtf?

back at the hotel, i put on a nice thai silk shirt. “why you make handsome?” issanbeauty asks. i explain that we’re going to the most popular night club in town, and i want to dress appropriately. “besides, ” i add, “if i make handsome, maybe you’ll fuck me for free?”

“never!” she exclaims, and storms off into the bathroom. meanwhile, i’m rofl.

we drive to the riverside bar and restaurant, on the east bank of the ping river, and sit at a candle lit table on the terrace, overlooking the river. issanbeauty is quite impressed.

“i sorry, darling. i cannot make good every day. is not me. sometimes i bad girl, stupid girl. i make falang so angry, not popular girl.” then, she points her nose in the air and shakes her head, “i don’t care. i don’t care. but you only smile. what you like about me? what you not like? i want to know.”

i’m trying hard to contain myself from laughing hysterically, this girl really knocks me out. i really don’t mind her antics, i find them quite amusing . i like a girl with attitude, i’ve found them to be better in the sack. issanbeauty is no exception, she’s given me some of the hottest sex i’ve ever had , especially when she times it so we cum together.

i remember our first encounter. she’s so pretty , i was wondering if she would turn out to be a starfish. then, she sits on the bed and says: “i like suck balls. you like?” so much for the starfish theory… after some invigorating oral stimulation, she grinds my tool. i sit up, to get my lips on the hard nipples protruding from her nice, perky tits. her tight pussy has transformed me into a raging, runaway locomotive so i lunge forward, bringing my 250 lb frame down upon this delicate flower. we’ve run out of real estate on the king size bed, her head drops off the edge. quickly, i slide my palm under the base of her skull so she won’t strain her neck, while not missing a beat with my thrusts. after she pops my cork, all i can think is: wow, is this girl hot.

answering her question honestly, i say: “i don’t like it when you bite. it hurts. but i like your tight pussy.” she starts singing thai songs until our food arrives.

after eating, we sit stage side and cycle through three bands. by closing time, i’ve consumed a couple mai tais, and 6 or 7 irish coffees. gotta give the irish credit, they’ll put whisky in anything. the rest of the evening is very blurrey .

i awake sunday, our last full day in chaing mai, and return the car after . since we’re both wasted, we re-retire until afternoon. then, i ask issanbeauty whay she would like to do, and she wants to visit wat pra singh in the city center.

we tuk tuk there, and issanbeauty and i lit candles and burn incense. in one corner of the compound, a basketball court is set up. i’m amazed. do the monks play basketball? how very cool .

we enter the viharn laikam, and i study the interior murals while issanbeauty prays. exiting the structure, i notice my nike tennis shoes are gone. issanbeauty says the first people to leave were a tall farang with a moustache, with a korean man and thai woman. she says they were just standing in the temple, and not worshiping. we wait until everyone leaves, and find an unmatched pair of shoes on the steps, a raggedy old pair of new balance tennis shoes, size us10.5. the glass is half full, at least the guy left his old pair behind. i’d hate to walk barefoot. hope this guy won’t return in his next life as one of those elephants that get whacked with the hook everyday.

we walk back to the hotel. about half way, my toes, jammed into the corners of these mangy ill-fitting shoes, begin to hurt, and i start waddling like a penguin. i tell issanbeauty i must get new shoes asap and we head for a large shopping center in the northwest corner of town.

one store has a large supply of tennis shoes, but no nike’s larger than us10.5. i ask the clerk if he has any shoes in the store size us12, and he produces a pair of hiking boots. my feet are very happy to have shoes that fit.

we stop at a restaurant on the second floor for a few beers. “i like bobby, my pom pui man, ” she tells me. “you like my money, ” i respond. “yes, ” she says, and we both toast our glasses . “first time, second time, just money, ” she says, “third time, fourth time i go with you, i like bobby.”

“you mean i don’t have to pay you today?” i inquire.

“fuck off, bobby” she answers, “i like you, i love you, then you have to pay more.”

back at the hotel, i give her the last installment. when we first met, she had quoted a price for long time that i said was too high, and she came down 500. i’ve been so impressed with her however, i’ve been paying her the higher amount anyway, plus an additional 200. every day, for the past 6 days. for this, she agreed to deliver two shots per day.

“here, i’ll trust you and pay in advance, ” isaid. “this covers tonight and tomorrow morning.”

“you want sex in the morning, you have to pay for short time.” she says.

“wait a moment, ” i counter, “long time covers evening and morning ”.

“20th, 21st, you fuck me three times, ” she says.

“i don’t remember that, ” i reply, “do you want to take the bus back to bangkok tomorrow?”

“i take bus, i don’t care, ” she says, as she rolls over to her side of the bed and falls asleep.

suddenly, i have no desire to have sex with her again, either tonight or tomorrow morning, even though i’ve already paid. i won’t ask for the money back, but i could recover most of it with a refund on her return plane ticket. it would give her something to think about on the eleven-hour bus ride. moreover, i’d just exchanged money at the shopping center, and when pulling travelers checks, exposed some $100 bills i kept for emergency. can i trust her in her current state, not to steal my money while i sleep? i look around the room, and her bag is packed. i decide there’s only one thing to do, it’s time to kick her to the curb. it’s 1:00 am and i still might be able to get a girl for the night. i’m not worried about her finding a place to stay, with the money i’ve given her she can easily afford to stay at any of the best hotels in town.

i get up, and tap her gently on the leg. “i’m going out, you’re free to leave now.” “where you go?” she asks. “you don’t care, ” i reply, “come on, i want you out. now.”

she peers up at me with her brown eyes, like a puppy dog, unbelieving. i make the hitchhiking motion with my hand towards the door. “come on. out. now. pronto.”

finally, she slowly gets up, goes into the bathroom to use the toilet, comes out and brushes her hair and fixes her makeup in the mirror. i stand there waiting, relieved she’s not going to make a scene. “and you’re right. you’re a stupid girl”, not being able to resist throwing an insult at her.

“what stupid girl?” she says sadly, “sorry you like me no more. sorry to miss you, ” and she extends her arm offering a handshake. i accept her offer and shake her hand, then open the door and tell her “good night, ” and she leaves.

what a terrible day, first i lose my shoes, now i lose my girl. it seems all the great times we’ve had the past several days have been erased. i won’t be able to enjoy all the pictures i took, because of her greed. but it’s my fault for giving her the money in advance. i decide it’s too late to go out, and start flipping the tv channels because i know i won’t be able to sleep. i have no regrets, but still feel positively awful . suddenly, i realize just how much i really like this girl. it’s not sex. her classy exit just makes it more difficult.

at 1:30, the phone rings. i recognize the desk clerk’s voice: “sorry. sorry. sorry.” he says, and hangs up. what’s this, did he dial incorrectly, or maybe she’s still on the premises. since i can’t sleep, i decide to go out for a walk.

as i get off the elevator, two elderly thai men smile at me. “she worry, ” one of them says. i see issanbeauty sitting in the lobby, crying . i take the seat next to her and say “i won’t stand to be treated like that. understand?”

“i sorry. i sorry, ” she says, with tears streaming down both cheeks. i invite her back upstairs, and she accepts.

after she showers, i suggest we get some sleep, but she wants to talk. “from now, i only good girl for you, no more bad girl, no more stupid girl. you good man, good heart. thank you, for bring me to chaing mai, give me money to take care me and my family.”

“i’m not doing anything noble, ” i assure her, “i’m just an old man having a fling with a young girl. i should feel ashamed.”

“you not old, ” she tells me, “i have many customers older than you.” i ask her if she’s happy working in the bar, and why doesn’t she find a nice thai man and settle down. she says she is happy, and wants to start her own business some day, a restaurant or internet shop.

finally, it’s time for the ‘make-up’ sex, and it’s sooooo gooooood .at 3:30, i request a wake-up call.

i awake before the call, and tell issanbeauty i’m going to the internet café across the street to check my email. i’m not going to bang her this morning, i don’t want to risk a controversy.

at the airport, she’s her usual jovial self again: locking arms, pinching my cheek, kissing me, and rubbing my belly. i fell very happy, too.

arriving back in bangkok, i offer to drop her at home, but she insists on accompanying me to the eastern bus terminal. normally, i take a taxi to pattaya, but i’ve overspent my budget.

when we get there, the bus is ready to leave. i give her 100 for taxi fare, take my seat on the bus, and wave , and blow her a kiss. as the bus is pulling away, she reciprocates both. thank you issanbeauty, for making my trip to chaing mai such a memorable experience. i’ll never forget you. every time i have watermelon, i’ll think of you.

If any of you mongers are going to Chang Mai it´s a must to visit Star Six. Sorry to say, my friend and I heard it too late on the same day we had to fly back to BKK. We heard it from a boss in a factory who makes rings with jewelleries and stones and he always use take his customers there.

Please report after your visit. What I think it´s a some sort of a GoGo with lots of ladies. Maybe just outside the center of CM.

Rhino Tusk,

Lovely story about you and Isaan Beauty. Sexy, sweet and human. I really enjoyed reading it. Reminds me of the week I spent in Pattaya last January with MySweetie. One of the best weeks of my life.

Thanks for sharing.

I agree, great stuff, Rhino Tusk!

BTW -- and this is for any mongers who take the same elephant farm tour -- the trick with the ox cart is to sit up front and drive. It's a hundred times more comfortable than sitting on the axle in back, and if you ask they'll generally let you drive the thing. It's well worth a small tip to save your fanny some grief.

Rhino Tusk,

Great stuff! I had my left arm on my chin and my right arm on the mouse scrolling along. Thanks for sharing the story. :)

I'm new to this forum but I'm a senior member of a Dutch forum.
A few weeks ago I picked up a very nice girl in Chiang Mai. I forgot her real name but her nick name is Toktok. Very pretty girl, 9 out of 10 IMHO. Dark Isaan beauty. Long hair, slim but not skinny, perfect breasts (B-size), perfect butt. But the most important: sweet, not stupid, easy going and not arrogant. Although she knows her value. Very determined she will ask 1000 for ST and 1500 for LT. Bargaining almost impossible!

I had her ST (I had to get up early unfortunately). She wants everything with condom. No BJ because I finished before we came to that... In bed she's the same as outside: nice and sweet and she even kissed a little bit.

You can find her in the Chiang Mai Entertainment Plaza (I believe that's the name) at the Loi Khro Road. Go to the bars at the very end behind the boxing ring. You can find her in the bar in the middle. Or 1 of the bars in the middle, I forgot if there are 3 or 4.

I just made a 5 day visa run to Mae Sai and checked out the lady scene at Chiang Rai, Maesai, Chiang Saen, Chiang Khong. If you are looking for trekking, nature, Lanna landscape, Mekong River, temples, this is a great place for you. If you are seeking easy genital stimulation in these regions, you may need your hand and some help of imagination on some nights. But if you look hard enough, in some cases with help of motorbike boys, and lower your standard a bit, you can always find something. Also if you have a few days to waste ,the amatures scene can be good in these unspoiled regions as well.

Chiang Rai. I stayed 2 out 5 nights here. The action is around the hotel I stayed called Wangcome hotel. There are several karaokes and bar beer. And a small street of gogo bars. Nothing exciting. The lady choice not vert good. I only found a cute girl in one of the karaokes but she refused to go out with a customer. I found this quite often in the karaokes in Chiang Rai. many girls do not sleep with customers and only go out for dancing. So you have to ask beforehands. The gogo scene also very bad. The girls dance in plain clothes and no cutie at all. And the bar beer scene also have weak. A few bar beer at Yot Jet Rd. Bar fine 300 everywhere. But on the average the girls have good personality.

There are some popular discos in Chiang Rai. Biggest one is at Inn Come Hotel south of town. It's called Par Club. Very crowded on Friday my first night here. There is another crowded disco called Sperm Club nearby. I went there afterwards and tried to hit on the Heineken girl with a sexy body. I got her number but she had to work till 2 so I left and went back to nearby Wangcome hotel. I was pretty hungry for lady I picked up a lady sitting outside a karaoke bar on Yot Jet Rd near the clock tower. Paid 300 bar fine and walked to my room. But I could not really get excited because this girl has so much pubic hair. So she jack me off and I paid her 1500 and sent her away quickly.

Then I walked to another disco nearby in the Hotel Saen Phu. It was very crowded. There were a few nice girls but all with guys. I looked around but the only cute one available was a girl working behind the counter. I ordered a beer and gave her a big tip. And we started to talk but she was so busy. Did not really have chance to talk much. But I asked her number. She gave to me.

So I got 2 numbers this night. I decide to call both of them at 2 15 AM when they get off work and see what happen. I called the girl from disco at Saen Phu hotel because she was more cute than the Heineken. But she said she had to go home. So I called the Sperm Club Heineken girl and she said she wants to go Par Club which opens very late till 4 AM sometimes and asked me to go with her. So I took a tuk tuk again to Par Club and met her outside the parking.

For some reason some discos in this part of country can stay open till 4 or 5 AM. And they do not really check ID for teenagers either. There were obviously lots of little kids in all the discos in Chiang Rai.

Anyways I opened a bottle of 100 Piper. And danced with her for a long time. Later I got a little tired and asked her straight that I like to stay with her tonight. She said she can send me back with her motorbike but she is very tired and want to sleep. I did not push her at all because I was very tired myself. So she sent me to hotel Wangcome and we promised to meet gain when I get back from visa run in few days.

Mae Sai. 1 hour by bus from Chiang Rai. Paid 5 USD to go to Takiley on the myanmar side for a day. Officially out of Thailand and made a U-turn in 5 min get another 30 days. Checked in hotel Tai Tong. A well run Chinese hotel. Rooms have carpet and TV and Air. 500 bahts. Good value. Walked to the temple on the hill and around the border market waiting night to fall.

9PM. Walked around and found some massage places. There are myanmar ladies. But can not find any cutie. So I lower my standard and picked out a lady and took her back to my room. 200 for 2 hours. She gave me a good massage but refuse to do anything else. Not even hand job. I gave her 50 tip and walked to her shop again and asked for another lady who will body massage. But the mama said her ladies don't do sex massage. Because they are all too young and innocent. So I left and walked around the street along the river. Found a karaoke but the ladies were so old and I left quickly.

Found some more massages but no cutie. And I lost interest in getting massage girls. A bike taxi driver told me of a big disco called BM. Si I went. It was big for Mae Sai and was crowded on Sat my 2nd night. There were quick a few girls but I think some of them are working. I searched all corners and found several okay girls. I approached one. She was with another girl. So I treated them some drinks and talked to her. She said she is from Chiang Mai and came to visit her friend in Mae Sai. We danced together and disco closed at 2 and I asked her staight to stay with me. She nodded. So her friend went home first and the girl went back with me.

I think she is semi pro. Because she came in and we started the procedure and she looked very natural. She has very nice tits but has some fat around the waist. I ponded her a long time. And she spent the night with me till 9AM and I gave her a tip of 2500 and she was happy and gave me her number. Sex was good but
nothing exciting.

I took a songthel for Chiang Saen. About 1 hour from Mae Sai. On the way you passed Golden Triangle. Now there are luxury hotels like Meredien, Imperial ect. No more opium or Mr. Kun Sa. Arrived in Chiang Saen and rented a bicycle. I circled the town but cannot find any lady houses. But went to a few nice temples and rode along the river Mekong and saw many many Chinese barges delivering good from Xuxanbana. And there are so many goods from China. And lots of Chinese businessmen and Chinese sailors in town. I was struggling to stay here one night or leave for Chiang Rai. But decided to stick with my original plan to stay one night in the quiet town. maybe there is some new discovery when night falls.

I checked in the only hotel like hotel in town called Chiang Saen River Hill hotel. 800 Bahts very nice room. But it is a little out of the main street. I talked to the hotel bell boy about lady places. And he said he get off work at 10 and will take me to see many ladies.

He took me on a motorbike and ran into darkness and arrived in a house outside of town. We went in there were about 10 ladies and all of them Lao lady. I did not like anyone but had a beer just to give them a donation. So the boy took me to another dark street with a small neon sign says karaoke and we went in and there were about 7-8 ladies. This time I saw a cutie and she is Thai from this area. So I talke to mamasan to take her to my room. Paid mama 300 bahts and the boy ma and she she followed us to my hotel. I gave the boy 200 tip.

The lady has very good personality and very nice skin and licked my balls very well. Stayed till 11AM and lunched together. I was happy with her and gave her 2500 bahts for a whole night service and good time.

Later I moved on to Chiang Khong by songthel. Going to this town, you pass some really nice scenry. Beautiful lanna field. Chiang Khong only has one main street. Many nice guest houses along the Mekong river. I rented a bycicle again and explored the town in 10 min. The river scenry here is really beautiful that I forget about ladies for 20 min. Stayed at Ruan Thai Sopapan Hotel. Nice river side bangalow I paied 500.

I was tired and walked around Mekong and had nice dinner at the riversides restuarant and did not look for lady in Chiang Khong. A very health tourist.

Woke up and walked aornd the river see the view again then took a bus back to Chiang Rai for my last night. I checked in Saen Phu hotel for a change. Nice room 500 bahts. Then waited for night to fall. 8PM. Walked to the night bazzar. Tried to picked up a student in uniform. But she said she was waiting for her boyfiriend and the boy came shortly after. I walked to a big hotel called Wiang Inn Hotel. There is a bubble bath in there. The only one in Chiang Rai. But all the ladies are so old and ugly and I did not even ask how much and left. Went back to my room for a rest and called the Heineken girl.

She was not working and agrred to see me. We met at the Pizza Company and had a late dinner. Then she invited me to some bar and we went. She took me on her bike and I tried to hold her and she did not resisted and this is a very good sign. We drank some beer and eat some snack and listened to music. Then I told her this is my last night and wanted to like to stayed with her. She kind of think and said she has to go to school 8AM. I said I will wake her up. Then we went to my room and she resisted a little at first. But later opened up very well. I pounded her. Small tits but very nice legs. I think she is a amature. Woke up about 7 AM. Did not sleep much and she was in a hurry to go. I told her I have no time to buy her a present and I like to give her some money to buy herself a present. I gave her 3000 and she accepted it and feel happy. She asked me to stay one more night. But I told her I cannot because I cannot change my air schedule. But made empty promise to see her again next month. Which I think I will not come all the way for her again. We said bye bye. And my 5 days visa run trip ends.

I'm debating to go to Chiang Mai during my last week here in LOS. Does Chiang Mai have the same type beer bar set up as Pattaya and Phuket? I'd really like to make it up there if it has the bar girls I love.

Checked out the soapies in CM this week.

Pandoras, my favourite for many years, has been going downhill for the last 12 months. Now is at an all time low, with mostly old hags in the goldfish bowl, and very few sideline girls.

The manager has changed, and done away with the 1 hour service for Bht1,000 (sometimes got it for 800), and will now not negotiate on the 1.5 hour rate below Bht 1,600 (used to be 1,500 ... but got it for 1,200 normally).

Give it a miss for now.

Instead, went to Sayuri, god selection this time around, about 35 girls at 21:00pm. Got a real cutie for Bht 1,200 for 1.5 hours .... which actually lasted almost 2.5 hours.

Go on foot, so you can get a better price than by taking a tuk-tuk. Easy to find, accross Narawat Bridge, in a Soi that suns between Riverside/Good View by the river, and the next main Soi.

Good report RCA Knight.

Did you not try anything the other side of the border? Usually a nice day-time selection there for Bht300.

You are paying too much in Thailand ..... but seem to be satisfied with what you pay ..... so, enjoy!

Here's an addition to the CM soapie scene: (Phucome)

Went to a place at the CM Phucome hotel. The hotel is way out on Huay Kuew, well past Nimmehamin. It's the NW corner of a very busy intersection. The sign is in Thai and bright blue neon on top of the building. As you are facing the front of the building head left. DO NOT go into the 'traditional massage' place (got this tip from another forum). Go into the ground level of the parking garage and look for the neon signs, then up the stairs.

Papasan quoted 900 all-inclusive for 1.5hrs. Had about 12 in fishbowl, and 6 in side area. These latter girls are 1100. Of course, papasan was quick with a recommendation. A new girl he said. I asked 'nome yai' and he admitted no. When asked for another recommendation, he came back to the same one!

So, wtf, I take her. Forgot the name, but real nice. Small, but not much for a body imho, maybe a 6+. Starts with wash in large tub, then to bed for CBJ, and boom. Then wash down. Room ok, has a minibar. No chance to give feedback to papasan. Probably would try something else before heading out there again.

Euros123:

I once about a year or so ago went into Tackiley for a visa run and walked around the streets and some motorbike boys told me nice ladies for 500 bahts. And insisted these ladies are very young and cute. So I gave it a try and he took me to a house that had about 10 girls and the level is so so nothing spetacular. The mamasan can speak some English and offered me to take 2 for sandwich for 1000 bahts. It was cheap and the girls were okay and look clean ,not disgusting. The motorbike boy asked me 100 for tip and offer to pick me up in 1.5 hours. Then I had 2 gals for sandwich but the room upstairs was so filthy and the shower water was kind of yellowish color. So I was not in a good mood for action.

After this I did not look for lady on the other side of border anymore.

RCA Knight,

Well done for your report on july 7th. The kind of report I like. Off the beaten track, with original and precise details. More of reports like this please guys !
The only thing, in my opinion you really overpaid and spoilt the girls. There is no need to pay 2500 or 3000 B to a girl for overnight. 1500 to 2000 B is always enough. Do you know the average monthly salary of a shop ao factory worker in this region of Thailand ? Well that is what they would earn if nobody fucked them !

Hey Guys,
What's the closing times up there in CM these days? Still 2am or earlier? I heard somewhere that disco's are closing at 1am - is that true? I'll be up there from August 18th to 24th....just trying to figure out some things......thanks a lot people!

Re: Closing times

Yes it's true.

Places like Starlight shut down at 1am. The friendly & sleepier places with the retired farang close down at 12.

Bubbles disco at Pornping open until 2am though. I think there are a few other discrete after-hours places though.

Sam,

I did a similar trek in March and enjoyed it. There wan't any mongering on the trek (The rest of the group was always around, the hill tribe gals didn't speak english and they weren't very attractive), but a decent amount exists in Chiang Mai. I had the best luck at Spotlight and took a real cutie out of there and saw a few more that were doable. Sounds like from the posts here, the talent changes frequently. Also got offered extras during almost every massage and picked up (or got picked up by) a freebie in the plaza. Tried Bubbles and the karaoke places with no luck.

Have fun.

I have been in and out of Thailand for over 10 years. I took some courses before many years ago in bangkok. Then I bought the study books and tapes from Asia Book. I usually keep a small notebook with me when I don't know a vocab I write it down in Romantized sound and check with my lady friends or try to look up in the dictionary. There is a Romantized Thai dictionary. You can buy from Asia Book.

So I know quite a lot of vocab already from studying over 10 years mostly by myself with helps from girls. It really helps in picking up ladies. It makes them feel easier and be able to speak basic Thai can reach out a bigger lady market as well.

Hello friend,

Can anyone one give me some info as to where to get the best chick in town that comes with a good price.

I will be in Chiangmai on 25 Oct 04

Coma Boy
09-08-04, 10:48
freeman,

the best girls are to be found in the karaokes but this can often be expensive.

for good value and good quality girls i recommend the main bar-beer centre on loi kroh road, next to the star six go-go bar. officially this place is called the chiang mai entertainment complex but the tuk-tuk drivers call it the star-six bar beer centre. there are loads of good bars here, and the best ones for girls are at the back behind the boxing ring.

dante bar normally seems to have the best looking girls and often has about twenty girls working, although on some nights not as many. a few of the girls are university students and so don't go with customers. dante is definitely the best beer-bar in chiang mai.

there are many other good bars in this same centre and further down the same road (loi kroh) you will find a bunch more bars plus a few more rep001tered close by just across the moat.

there are a few go-gos in town such as spotlight, foxy lady, star six, stairway to heaven, they are all good but the girls tend to be in and out with customers a few times per night. plus in foxy lady many of the girls flirt a lot but don't go with customers, i've watched many guys storm out after buying the girls drinks all night long only to be given the "time of the month" excuse.

annoyingly everywhere shuts at midnight these days except for a few discos. the main disco is bubble, at the porn ping hotel, it is full of freelancers and bar-girls but is a pretty shit place to hang out, as it is also packed with cheesy tourists and the staff are infamous for short-changing customers and selling fake alcohol. after bubble closes at 2am girls still looking for customers go to an outdoor bar/restaurant called spicy this place stays open all night. all these places are easy to get to, and nowhere in the centre of town costs more than 40 baht in a tuk tuk.

pm me for any further information.

I am off to Chiang Mai next week with my new friend who is the Front Desk Manager at my Bangkok Hotel. Any suggestions on a nice hotel with a Spa? Are there any good nightclubs there? We'll be there for five days.

ThrillSeeker
09-17-04, 07:02
Playboy,

It depends on what you mean by nightclubs. There are several disco's in and around town, several impressive karaoke's, beer bars, and then there are a few really nice, and comparetively expensive bar/restaurants. The nicer ones are easily world class and might be a great place to impress your new friend. They are not pick-up bars and you generally won't be doing any socializing with others. They are elegant, quiet, romantic. If you need more info or want to clarify what you are looking for, you can PM me. I'd be happy to help and make a few recommendations and maybe even help with directions.

As to hotels with spa, I can't really help. There are two great boutique hotels in town but they are probably booked well in advance and I'm not sure about their facilities. One is Rachamankha, the other is Tamarind Village. Furhter out you might try the Inmperial Mae Ping or Belle Villa. Also, Baan Saen Doi. Oasis Spa is one of the nicer spa's and is close to some very nice hotels.

I'm sure you could Google these for more info.

Playboy.

The best hotel/resort is the Four Seasons but it is outside of town. Has an excellent spa though, apparently the best in the North of Thailand. There are several out of town retreats with spas if you want to escape from the centre.

The best centrally located hotels are The Sheraton (formely Westin) and the Duang Tawan, I don't know if they have spas or not. For a more Thai style hotel I recommend Tamarind Village (http://www.tamarindvillage.com) or Rachamankha (www.rachamankha.com) or, if you are on a budget, The Pagoda Inn is very nice. I recommend www.precisionreservations.com for hotel bookings.

There are plenty of spas all over town but I'm not sure which are in hotels, I'm not really a spa man. If you PM me for more details I can easily find out whatever you need to know. Always happy to help.

Good nightclubs- that depends on what you like, there are plenty here, Bubbles (which I hate) caters to Westerners, Nice Illusion and Hot Shots are a good-mix, but Thais enjoy Bossy, X-Zone, Legacy, Fashion House, Warm Up, Sixty One, etcetera etcetera.

Chiang Mai is a good place to take a girl, especially now that the early closing times are killing off the bar-scene. Still plenty of girly action for visitors but once you've lived here for a while you get bored of the same faces.

Anyone have any experience with the Montri Hotel? I understand that its close to the train station and the bars.

Joe Zop
09-19-04, 23:53
The Montri is near the bar scene, but not the train station, which is a fair ways away on the far side of the river. The Montri is in the old city, right near Tapae Gate, so it's easily accessable to pretty much everything. It's decent but not four-star, was a bit run down the last time I was in it, but also reasonably priced.

MondaysChilde
09-20-04, 21:33
I stayed at the Montri. remember it as functional, nothing stands out, except the western-style diner attached to the corner which attracts a lot of travellers.

As Zop says, it is not close to the trains but is in the center of the action and was girl-friendly when I was there in '00.

Girlfriendly hotels?

Dear friends, I will visit CM for my first time in November 04.
After reading your reports in this thread, i have got a lot of valuable information.

But not so much information about the different hotels policy regarding bringing back girls to your room.

Please inform which hotels are guest friendly, or oposite.
And which ones demand joiner fee?

Coma Boy
09-28-04, 17:59
Gregbro.

I have found Rydges, Star Inn, Suriwongse, Royal Lanna, Chiang Mai Orchid and Sheraton to be girl friendly.

I do however always book a double room.

I've had joiner fee requests at Imperial Mae Ping and Royal Princess but not every night, I guess it depends on who is on duty. Often the fee was forgotten once I explained that I had booked a double room but on other occassions they were stubborn and I paid.

Occassionally when I have been asked for joiner fees from night-staff in hotels I tell them to add it to my bill. It has very rarely appeared on the bill so I suspect it was a scam and would have ended up in that employee's pocket.

It is easy enough to ask hotels about whether it is possible to bring in a guest, they rarely appear embarrassed or rude, especially if you are friendly and polite.

Gregbro
09-29-04, 16:42
Tanks Coma Boy, nice info.

You or anybody else know the policy at Chiang Mai Plaza (Westin) or Tamarind.

And which hotel do you think is best value for money?

Coma Boy
09-30-04, 07:33
Westin is now called Sheraton, not very centrally located, but girl-friendly.

Chiang Mai Plaza I think has joiner fees, not sure though. It has a great swimming pool. Okay-ish location.

Tamarind Village is beautiful, not sure how girl-friendly. I stayed there for three nights with a temporary GF who I checked in with. Didn't see any guests with bar-girls.

Basically I think everywhere is pretty much girl-friendly in Chiang Mai if you have booked for two. If they give you any hassle at night just point out that you booked for two people. "Pom jong hawng samrap song kohn na krap".

Good deals for rooms can be found at www.precisionreservations.com - I use this site for most of my Asian hotel bookings.

I think the new Duang Tawan Hotel may be the best place to stay. Brand new, not too expensive, I think it is girl-friendly, and an excellent location- very close to the action. Only three minutes walk to the main bar-beer centre (Dante Bar, Star Six etc.) and three minutes in the other direction for your morning Starbucks fix.

Coma Boy
09-30-04, 20:04
joking.

okay, main beer-bars are at the chiang mai entertainment complex (cec), this is on a road called loi kroh and is about a three minute walk from the night bazaar. next to the duang tawan and imperial mae ping hotels. this place contains about twenty bars, the ones at the end behind the boxing ring tend to have the best girls and the ones as you enter tend to have more tourist customers.

my favourites are dante, ringside and cheerleaders.

tell tuk-tuk drivers to take you to star six, as no-one ever calls the place the chiang mai entertainment complex.

the star six go-go bar is next to the cec.

further down loi kroh road (heading away from the night bazaar, probably a six minute walk) there are about eight more bars, these are good fun too but most of the best girls have moved to cec. this area is where stairway to heaven is located.

then across the moat are a rep001tering of other bars (december bar, predator), not so good, but you meet the occassional hotty if you're lucky.

keep moving and you'll come across spotlight, across the road is a small bar-beer centre- probably called thae pae gate bar beer centre, a couple of okay bars in here but mostly boy-bars and lady-boys.

foxy lady is on thae pae soi 1, next to a bunch of gay bars, this soi runs parallel to the night bazaar road and is just a few minutes from the chiang mai entertainment complex.

spicy is on a road called chaiyapoom and is next to a disco called nice illusion and about five minutes away from spotlight. every single tuk-tuk driver knows it. spicy gets busy at about 1am and stays busy till about 5am, it is full of tourists and bar-girls and other random people. it is a kind of semi-outdoor restaurant but not many people actually eat there. everyone is very drunk so it is easy to pick up chicks or just sit back and watch the drunken farang fighting each other.

chiang mai land is about ten minutes from the night bazaar on the same road (changklan) if you head south out of town. it has a couple of discos (bossy and legacy) and a bunch of karaokes and cheap japanese restaurants. there is even a lesbian bar but i have never seen any girls there- only old farang men looking for lesbians. thai lesbians tend to hang out in clubs such as image.

unfortunately the shitty closing times here have sent a lot of our best girls south to work in bangkok and beyond.

basically everywhere in town is very easy to find, everything is close to everything else and tuk-tuk drivers will understand where you want to go no matter how bad you pronounce place names. you'll be an expert yourself after 48 hours.

okay, hope this makes sense, i've just returned to my room after a night at dante. i'm too drunk to be typing really and the girl in my bed is complaining that i'm neglecting her. but we've already done our thing and once is enough for me tonight!

enjoy.

I'm looking for a decent, cheap (I'm poor) hotel for a couple of night. Must be girl friendly. I see I can book the Pornping Tower for 1155baht (double). How is it? Also, anything cheaper? How about "Downtown Inn" (870/double for standard room)

Coma Boy
10-08-04, 09:44
Okay, Joking- explain yourself please.

Who is the mysterious DG?

Coma Boy
10-08-04, 16:07
Downtown Inn is very close to the action, is girl-friendly and damn cheap, haven't stayed there myself and I have heard that the rooms are nothing special, but serve their purpose.

Downtown Inn is also next to The Bunny Club, a bar with massive potential if only they would employ some girls under forty. If you like a nasty-ride then you need only walk thirty seconds from Downtown Inn to the Bunny Club. I have to admit I still pop in from time to time when I'm in a dark mood.

Also the CEC is only about five minutes away on foot.

Porn Ping is also girl-friendly, not very expensive, not particularly nice but good enough and has a fairly good swimming pool. Close enough to the action and the popular (but shit) freelancer disco- Bubble is also at that hotel.

I reckon you should opt for Downtown Inn.

Mountain Guy
10-08-04, 19:57
Rat Fink,

The Suriwonge (sp?) is cheap, clean, and lady friendly. I stayed there earlier this year and had no problems. The doorman would smile as he opened the door for me and my young friends. Inside, the married women would look at me with disgust and their husbands with envy. It is located next to the night bazaar, and two blocks from the entertainment complex, where I scored a freebie.

Rat Fink
10-08-04, 20:01
Thanks for the info Coma Boy. "Downtown" it shall be, barring other comments suggesting otherwise. Anyone ever booked on farangs.com? They just came up on several google searches.

Joe Zop
10-09-04, 00:45
I've stayed at the Downtown Inn, and I frankly found it overpriced for what you got -- small and dingy rooms, generally pretty run-down, without really enough charm to make up for the couple hundred baht you save. If you want to be in that area, the Suriwongse is only a hundred yards or so away and only a tiny bit more expensive. I've stayed in both, and I'd choose the Suriwongse.

Well-said, Coma Boy, on the Bunny Club. A nice place with a lot of potential (which I imagine the German owner was looking to capitalize on before he up and died) and some nice ladies, but definitely mostly older, as can be the case in any number of CM spots.

If you actually call the Pornping you will find the cheapest rooms are BHT800 with breakfast. But you only get two single beds.
There is the delux which has a double at Bht 1,000 and the Exec Delux which is Bht 1,200. This was the price a month ago.
Totally girl friendly and plenty of 'road-kill' outside by Bubbles to dip your stick in.
Much better than Downtown Inn.
Avoid the Bunny Club....mingers only!
