I stayed there 6 weeks ago and its very nice, girl friendly as all they do is leave their ID at reception. Great location as it’s only a short walk to Bangla. Next time I go back I’m trying the Safari Hotel it’s a little cheaper, girl friendly and closer to Bangla and a mate Bar/ Restaurant called the Tipsy Prawn ( good Euro & Thai and on the beach).

As far as I could tell from riding around the Laguna area on a motorbike, is that it is a very nice golf / beach resort. I didn't see any P4P bars there.

Most of the Phuket mongering scene is in Patong. It is a bit of a ride away from Laguna. You could arrange to hire a car/driver for the evening to transport you to/from Patong.

Dont need to rent bike if you plan to be in Patong only--most of the interesting places are within walking distance. If you are renting anyway, suggest you head to Phuket town just over the hill--everythings cheaper there.

I woke up at 2 am and have a walk at Bangla road. One street hooker offered me body massasge at a cheap hotel for bath 1000. During the massage, she put a condom into my soft little brother, sucking for less than one minute and changed it with another new one. She then asked me to pay USD100 for this so-called double suck and fxxx services. I refused to pay USD100, but only willing to pay USD50 although I knew this is a set-up.

The hooker took my shoe away and blocked the hotel room. She even said used condoms as evidence of fxxking and claimed that DNA test can indicate is mine. See she already plans out such trap in advance. She claimed she is a university student which I believe, otherwise which hooker in Thailand can ask for ransom payment with DNA test threat.

I asked her to take any amount money from my wallet since she liked "dirty money". She refused to touch my wallet anyway. I believe this hooker is not new to ripe off money from new and innocent tourists.

The stand-off lasted for about thirty minutes after I failed to contact my hotel staff with my overseas roaming phone. I finally paid her because I was locked in the hotel room for almost an hour.

For those non-westerners, Phuket is not a value for money place for flesh mongering. My plan to Phuket is not for mongering purpose anyway. Just to have a see on Phuket after the Tsunami in 2004 and also have a good rest and body recharging in a seaside resort.

Anyway, USD100 bought me a good lesson, be smarter in next time when visit to wild west countries. My future first safety rule, don't try any freelance street hookers. Some people losing their valuable goods after wake up in next morning.

I believe this is my final visit to Phuket after such a bad experience. Phuket is like Bali, too commercialized for western tourists' money. Not my taste!

I dont truly understand what all the details are but have the overall picture.
I am having a hard time understanding why you even willing to pay $50 US for basically having nothing done. I'm also assuming you didnt unload into a condom (not that it matters here) so what DNA are you worried about if she's not a minor its no big deal. As I dont see any real threat here (again assuming 4 guys not outside the door) if you were locked inside, you should've made a big fuss/noise/banging door etc to attract attention--not difficult as its the middle of the night, and then yell for the Tourist Police--bet her attitide will change right away. Locking anyone in against their will is unlawful almost everywhere.
Best lesson you learned here is NEVER follow a SW to their home or so-call hotel unless you know its a real ST hotel to begin with--ex. you have paid and used this ST hotel before and its legit. Owners of real ST hotels dont allow these scams as it hurts their business. (BTW: the above rule should be followed anywhere in Asia andnot just here.
In general, always take a SW to your OWN hotel--the staff of the hotel can always help bail you out in a problem situation.

what i can do is telling many people as possible not to visit phuket for flesh mongering. i will cancel my next trip to chiang mai after this bad incident. my hard eanred money can be spent in elsewhere like in hong kong, indonesia, vietnam etc, not in thailand again.

Tourist killed on Thai resort island

Police say a 24-year-old Belgian tourist has been shot dead on Thailand's popular Phi Phi island.

Police Colonel Boontawee Toraksa says the man was gunned down in front of a budget beach hotel as he came back from a local bar with two other westerners.

"Witnesses told us three young men approached the Belgian and shot him in the head," he said.

Colonel Boontawee says the two others are unharmed.

He says the Belgian, whose identity is not clear, arrived in Phi Phi last week with a brother.

Police have declined to give further details.

Phi Phi is known for its postcard-perfect beaches and was used as the location for the 2000 Hollywood film, The Beach, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

I still say giving up $100 for nothing is still the wrong decision, if she didnt hold a gun on you or had 3 guys to back her up, should had just left the room. Dont lose your cool and never hit the gal and you'll be fine.
The Phi Phi murder and what happen to you had nothing in common. You were scammed and he was murdered.--But from what I understand so far, the Belgian was really drunk to begin with and might have said or done something stupid.

You did mention being a monger in China and from what I know about the 2 countries, Thailand is a much safer country --much less crime. Nobody I know had ever had a problem in LOS but at least 2 people I know who visited China had been robbed (mugged) in daytime by guys with knives. My friends dont know each other so they were 2 separate muggings at different times.--Both were in South China.
If I include your friend who was also mugged in China, thats a 300% chance of armed robbery in China as oppose to LOS.--bet you're feelin safer in LOS already.
Conclusion: Dont be so paranoid of Thailand--Note: Legally, the hooker didnt even rob you as you" willingly "gave her the $100, so relax and the fun will find you in LOS.
Like I said, dont cancel the flight as CM is a great sightseeing place (dont forget to go see Wat Suthep in the mountains).--if you find a nice babe while there then thats an added bonus.

I'd choose the K Hotel over all of them. Great location, excellent restaurants, close to the action but still relatively quiet, free internet at hotel and totally wireless.

Tropica Bungalow hotel is just south of Bangla Road. (As you walk south from the beach end of Bangla, you pass a seafood restaurant, then the Tropica restaurant, then the driveway to the hotel itself, which is set back from the road.) There are many isolated bungalows and one large building with 13 rooms on each of 2 floors. I had a single in the large building (I think the bungalows are for more people) for $19US per night, including a large breakfast buffet.

The hotel is girl friendly. The rules in the room just tell you to have her leave ID at the desk. They even gave me 2 breakfast vouchers for each day.

The room had a large bed, TV with not many channels but it did have HBO, a room safe (very important consideration for me) and a powerful air conditioner. I had a 2nd floor balcony which would have overlooked the pool except there was a tropical jungle, so I could barely see it. Also, through the trees I could barely see the top of one of the Bangla Road clubs. Not very noisy for being so close. I could occasionally hear a faint drum beat at night, and once a big cheer from all the Aussies watching sports in the bars, but nothing annoying.

The large bathroom is not air conditioned--slits at the top of the wall are open to the outside. So you just have to leave the bathroom door closed.

The girls at the reception desk spoke english well and were helpful with advice. I would recommend this hotel anyway, but at the very low price I think it's a real bargain.

This is written by a rookie to maybe help out other new guys. Probably doesn’t have much of interest for the experienced.

Bangla Road is in the center of the Patong Beach area. The beach runs N/S and Bangla runs E/W. The West end starts at the road along the beach and the East end is at the next major N/S road. In the evenings it is a pedestrian mall, closed to traffic. There are lots of restaurants and (real) bars, souvenier stands and even a small department store with a grocery store underneath it. On the east end of the street is a Thai Boxing arena. But extending north from Bangla road are alleys or areas with many open air bars packed next to one another. Those are kind of the point of Bangla Road.

These areas each have one loud shared music system. There are maybe 20 to 50 small bars in each area, with 10 to 20 seats at each one. Starting around 9:00 or so at night you’ll find 3 to 10 girls sittng at each bar. Some will have a girl or two dancing on the bar. There are also some indoor go-go bars and a few large clubs. Guys out on the streets are tying to get you to go to the go-go bars, but it doesn’t look like the girls in them are any different than the ones outside. There are also some free-lance girls out on Bangla road. Also, some ladyboys in outrageous outfits posing for pictures. I’m not sure why.

With so much competition, prices are reasonable. My orange juice was 50B. Many bars have girls holding up price lists of drinks. No fear of being ripped off like in Patpong in Bangkok. Since they’re open air and packed together, you can just wander around them and check out hundreds of girls before choosing a spot to hang out. Often the girls will grab you as you walk by (“Hello. Welcome. Where you go? Buy a beer, etc.”). If you find one you like, she’s probably available.

I checked out all the open air bars off Bangla Road on a Sunday night. Most of them looked pretty dead. The girls would grab me as I walked by and ask me to stay, but they weren’t that hot. The exception was a place called Sharkey’s. Right on Bangla, toward the Eastern end of the road, by the Tiger club, I think. No girls approach you. They’re wearing schoolgirl outfits with “Sharky’s” stitched above the shirt pocket. Most of them are dancing. There are lots of customers. The Sharkey’s girls are a cut above the other ones. Probably the 3 or 4 best looking babes I saw that night were all here.

A girl with a nice rack in a black T-shirt showed me to a seat and took my drink order. (I figured she was just a waitress, but more on that later.) The hottest girl I’d seen in Phuket was one of half a dozen dancing on the bar. I smiled at her and she smiled back, but when she came down she went straight to another guy. Not long after, he paid a 500B bar fine and they left.

The 2nd hottest girl was putting on a good show on the bar, teasing guys and having fun. I just hung out for a half an hour or so until she came down and continued dancing among the customers. Then I offered to buy her a drink. Lady drinks are 150B. She told me they were cola and Thai whiskey. After a few minutes she was dancing again. She told me if she sits down for more than 2 or 3 minutes the boss yells at her. She went back up on the bar and I moved to a bar seat where she danced for me. As I continued to buy her drinks, she let me suck on her nipples, stick my hand up her dress and, a few times, put an ice cube in her mouth and kissed me until it melted. She alternated dancing on the bar with dancing on the floor with going for a [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140). A few times my girl had arguments in Thai with the “waitress” mentioned above. Once, the “waitress” offered to go with me as a replacement. It turned out that 2 guys had offered to take my girl with them and that was the argument. My girl wanted to leave with me. So I paid the bar fine and “waitress” girl had to go calm down the other guys. I guess she was more than a waitress.

My girl (sorry I don’t remember her name--if you look for her, she’s hot, long hair, small boobs, good English, most energetic dancer and perfect teeth) said she didn’t want money, she wanted me to give her a new phone. That turned out to be around 9000B, so I declined and said I’d just pay. She asked for 3000B, which is what the 2 guys together were going to pay. She said other girls get 1000 or 1500 but she wanted 3000. And you know what? I think she was worth it. She was pretty, enthusiastic, slutty, friendly, drunk and spoke very good English. I figured this was my only time here, so I might as well take the best and never think about what might have been. Besides, 3000B is probably less than I’d have spent in a US club for the lap dances and other action she already gave me.

By this time it was about 2 AM and most other bars had folded up, but Sharkey’s was still going. She changed clothes and we walked to my hotel room (Tropica Bulgalows--see my description nearby on this list). Before I had the room door closed she had her dress off. She went into the bathroom to [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) while I sat on the edge of the bed. When she came out, without a word, she got on hands and knees, pulled down my pants and started sucking. She asked for a condom for fucking and I got one. I arrived in Phuket Town last Sunday, Sep 17, at 1: 00 AM from an air-con minivan ride from Hat Yai which left at 6: 00 PM the previous day. If you ever arrive an Phuket Town, make sure you arrive early because it was very difficult getting a taxi. I ended up walking up to these two girls coming out of a bar and asking if they could help me call a taxi. After a unsuccessful phone calls, then flagged down a moto and fortunately, he said he knew of a taxi who would take us. So after checking in to the Deevana, a nice mid-range hotel about a 10 minute walk from Bangla Rd and Patong Beach, I needed to get a drink and headed down to Bangla Rd. A moto ride down there from Deevana cost 20 be so don't ask the driver. When you get off the moto, just hand over the 20 be, say "khawp khun khrap" or "thank you" and walk away. If the driver ask for more, just say that's what you've always paid.

Yeah, Sharkey's seems to be the most happening bar out of all the bars I walked by on multiple occasions. It's not difficult to see why they're the most happening place. They've got a great location right at the front, they've got a lot of girls working the bar, their girls are a cut above the other bars and they do some crazy ass shit to the customers. I guess they all learn it from the Ms. Big Boss, the proprietor of the place and the craziest one of them all. She's always dressed in something all too revealing and there wasn't a night I was there when she didn't have her legs high in the air or her titties exposed or used as a drinking fountain or a pacifier for all those grown men. Me included:). If you ever goto Sharkey's, you'll know who the she is.

I fell for one girl at Sharkey's I saw from my first night at the Tiger Entertainment Complex. Her name is Oiy and she has long straight blond hair, small eyes, a sharp face and dances like a real ****. Yes, I love sluts, espeically the really bitchy looking ones:). I didn't do anything the first night because I was sitting at another bar close to Sharkey's but I returned the second night and bar fined her. As you'll soon find out, she's a pretty popular girl, so if you're interested in her, get there early. The girls are Sharkey's start work at 9: 00 PM, but the music and the dancing at the TEC don't get going until 10: 00 PM.

The bar fine is 500 be and I negotiated 2000 be for LT with her. We took a moto back to the Deevana and I gave the moto 40 be for two people. I don't know if you have to double the fare when there are two people on the moto, but what the heck, I was feeling generous. When we got to the hotel, the security guard escorted Oiy to the stairs to the rooms while I went to get my keys from the front desk. When I met up with my girl and the guard, I handed the guard a 20 be tip, but he wanted me to give him 300 be for taking the girl up and I said no. I told him I had booked a double and that I didn't need to give him anything extra and he could confirm that with the front desk if he wished.

Even though she's kind of lazy in bed (she didn't do BJ, but I didn't ask cuz it's BJs are just OK for me), I had a wonderful night with her. She and I especially liked that DATY she received. I must have been at it for over half an hour before I even got down to the real business. And when we first woke up the next morning, she climbed over me and sat above my face cuz she wanted to cum again. Ah, there ain't nutin like the taste of a good pussy.

As much as I liked her, I also understand her need to make whatever money she can. So if some moron is willing to overpay that much, I guess she ought to take advantage of it. And that she did. The same guy ended up bar fining her and paying her that same amount over the next three days.

Anyway, she and I met up the next afternoon and she took me around the island on her moto. We headed back into Patong Beach and we were originally going to have some fun in my room, but my watch said 8: 00 PM and I was suppose to meet up with a friend for dinner so I said I would just see her tonight. But unfortunately, I had my watch on the incorrect time-zone setting and it was really only 7: 00 PM! Oh well.

I arrived at Sharkey's at 10: 15 PM that night and she was already bar fined by the same guy. Oh well. To make the rest of the story short, I didn't see her again until the morning I left Phuket. She came over at 8: 00 AM and we had a little fun before I left. I was heading to Bangkok next and she said she wanted to visit me there. She asked for me to pay for her 2700 be ticket and I said OK. I was beginning to wonder if I was being played, so I told her I only had 4000 be on me that morning and asked her to pay for her own ticket first and that I would pay her back when she got to Bangkok, but she didn't liked that idea. I finally gave her 1000 be, so if I was being played, that would have covered that ST I had with her that morning, and then she got upset. I told her to forget about coming to Bangkok unless she really wanted to. I gave her my hotel info and told her to give me a call if she decided to come. I also explained how I wasn't rich like her current sugar daddy so if she was expecting that from me, she wasn't going to get it, but if she wanted to have a good time hanging out in Bangkok, I could provide that.

So, I guess I'll see if she shows up in Bangkok this Sunday or not. But I'm not holding my breath. *Sigh* it's way too easy to develop emotions for these Thai girls.

Like I said, dont cancel the flight as CM is a great sightseeing place (dont forget to go see Wat Suthep in the mountains).--if you find a nice babe while there then thats an added bonus.

It's on Th Rat Uthit, further south and a 5 minute walk from Bangla Road. The fish bowl has three sections, normal fishies cost 2200 B, pretty ones cost 2500 B and the overfed ones cost 1800 B. More girls arrive after 6:00 PM so if you like choices, plan to arrive after that.

I picked a pretty one from Chiang Mai. Sorry, I forgot her name and number, but she's got a really great smile that beams, "pick me!" The soapy massage was actually pretty good if you like having a naked girl slip and slide all over you. But, Just a word of caution for any newbies in Phuket (or elsewhere) that dont know how this works.
Theres often a good reason why nobody but a drunk would even ring the bell. In many bars (cant remember if Sharky is one of those) ringing the bell means you are buying a round of drinks for EVERYONE at the bar (all mongers, bargirls, the boss, etc) and it is whatever they want to drink, so if the bar is packed, ringing the bell could easily cost you several thousand bahts.
I've done this once (I was not drunk), but only because the bar was fairly empty--late at nite (total 5 people at the bar--including the BGs)and I was in a good mood, so rather than ask what everyone wanted to drink ,easier to just ring the bell.

I also liked Deevana Patong if you want a reasonably upscale place that's guest friendly and not priced exhorbitantly. I'd call it a legit 3-3.5 star place, with decent rooms, nice grounds and several very nice swimming pools and a good spa. I wish it were closer to Bangla Road and the beach (It's a 3 block walk to the ocean - but that's why it was undamaged by the Tsunami).

A standard room should be around $30-35, and a deluxe room $40-50 including tax and service.

I never did get my companionship on Bangla Rd, as there was a street with about 4-5 beer bars leading right up to the Deevana Patong's entrance, and I met all of my new friends there. During daytime, nobody ever asked about the ladies who accompanied me back to my room. At night, the guard at the front entry took their ID and my room number, but I never was charged any joiner fee. I believe I booked a double, but that cost the same as a single on PrecisionReservations, which is where I booked the hotel.

My only gripe is that the Baht buses become MUCH more expensive at night than during the daytime when 20-30 Baht will cover it, at night it's more like 100-200.

Baht buses are pickup trucks with bench seats in the back which act as ride-share taxis. They run up and down the beach road and the next road up from the beach. There are plenty of them in Patong - I'm not sure if they cover any of the other areas in Phuket.

Patong is fine but busy and noisy, especially at night. patong beach is pretty much the same. Kata beach is nicer with stil oads of shops and about a 20 min drive into Patong at night. Kata does have a few MP and small girlie bars though so might be a clever place to be as the missus wont suspect anything. trust me one night walking down the famous bangla rd with the missus will certainly be awkward, esp if one of the girls you may see recognises you and waves at you! kathu rd is about 10 mins walk away from patong which is ok- if you are looking for a realy cheap hotel with a pool with nice clean rooms- patong palace hotel is nice. there is not an abundamce of MPs in Phuket compared to Bangkok, its mainly girls and ST.

Stay at the Deevana... it's about $35 a night for a room that's a cut above most of the ones in Patong Beach. It's also only a 5 minute moto ride from Bangla Road and 10 minute moto ride from Christine's MP. Christine's MP is probably your best bet if you're with someone. stayed at the holiday inn resort in phuket for a couple nights. hadn't had time to read the forum and it just occurred to me on arrival that they might not be girl-friendly. i opened the guest services book in the room and the first thing it says is that no guests or visitors are allowed and the policy will be strictly enforced. i almost checked out. fortunately there was that other sentence about talking to a manager if any clarification of this seemingly eminently clear policy was needed. so i called the manager.

as previously posted you just need to let them know you will be bringing someone and they make a note in your record, girl leaves her id and picks it up when she leaves. they won't allow the girl to accompany you to the pool or the restaurant during the day though, and she has to leave by 6am. at least that is what they said, i didn't try to keep the girl. the manager also gave me a speech about how they don't encourage girls to go in the rooms and she might steal etc... which was not appropriate imho.

patong is booming as usual, i had several drinks at bars but for some reason the pretty girls who attracted me to the bars in the first place appeared to lose interest after the first drink, or in some cases did not look as pretty from up close. not to mention the many lady boys, not my thing.

ended up picking up a girl from fbi but these high heels and clothes and the alcohol just made her look better than she was once all the artifacts were gone, by which point it was too late. i encouraged her to leave after an hour.

at one point the next day i felt ripped off. i went to one of the king bars and a waitress noticed i was eyeing a cutie on stage. she promptly called her to my table, i bought her and her friend a drink, maybe even two and when i was ready to pay the barfine and go the girl said she had her period and could not go! what was that bs about?

anyway i found a really cute girl at the fbi disco at the end of the street, who also turned out to provide gfe and remarkable service. we went out to some outdoor disco open until 8am and finally back to my room for 2 sessions in one hour, quite an achievement considering the number of drinks, the hour, and my age!

conclusion: good place to stay unless you want to keep the girl with you during the day.

And why is it that "less than first world countries" can never seem to figure out that when you make a staircase, you got to make each stair the same height?
Anyway.... Walked into the place and welcomed by quite an elaborate show on the stage - Singing, dancing, writhing... and even a live band! That's quite a nice touch! First sight on the left is a long bar with real lookers behind it.... and unlike the "LBFM" (little brown f...cking machines) one gets accustomed to seeing in Patong and other areas frequented by Farang mongers, these girls I rather suspect were there to suit the taste of the local Thai businessmen and big wigs. Much fairer skinned and much better looking (to my eyes anyway!) than the dark skinned Issan gals ubiquitous in Farang dominated watering holes. And definitely so much less aggressive/gentle. My Thai hosts then trooped me back into our private K-OK room - and immediately following were 12 gals all paraded for us to choose. Choose one, choose one he kept saying and of course I had no choice but to choose 2! (Love to get them competing/ vying FOR me) I was now really starting to enjoy myself and actually became a bit raucious... to the point that all of a sudden I became aware that the whole room's attention was on me. Oh Oh - this does not bode well for me if I want to still be under the graces of my host! Bad Form I figured - and decided to cool it a bit. OK not a bit - cool it a lot!! To the point that I actually did NOT take out any girl that night. Well.... these were quite big deal guys in Phuket - what do you expect me to do? But, I did manage to get the low down on the scene at Fantasia for future (err... actually it was for the next day's use!!) use. The deal is Bht1,900 for short term including 1-1/2 hour at a short term hotel close by and Bht 2,900 for long term. Not bad eh? Especially if you just sit outside and don't have to pay for a K-OK room etc - just the drinks that you/your gal consume prior to you taking her out. (And Please don't ask me what are the charges for the K-ok room etc - I don't know as my hosts took care of the bill - of course!!
Will write again later on my 'next night' adventure! Ta Ta for Now!!

To the point that all of a sudden I became aware that the whole room's attention was on me. Oh Oh. This does not bode well for me if I want to still be under the graces of my host! Bad Form I figured. And decided to cool it a bit. OK not a bit. Cool it a lot! To the point that I actually did NOT take out any girl that night. Well. These were quite big deal guys in Phuket. What do you expect me to do? But, I did manage to get the low down on the scene at Fantasia for future (err. Actually it was for the next day's use! ) use. The deal is Bht1, 900 for short term including 1-1/2 hour at a short term hotel close by and Bht 2, 900 for long term. Not bad eh? Especially if you just sit outside and don't have to pay for a K-OK room etc. Just the drinks that you/your gal consume prior to you taking her out. (And Please don't ask me what are the charges for the K-ok room etc. I don't know as my hosts took care of the bill. Of course!

YES - tourism in Phuket is booming again.... to the point that at one of my favorite restaurants there - panwa - I actually had to wait to get a table.... at 9 PM... whilst just a few months back they even closed off a section...and a couple months after the tsunami, I was the ONLY table there! The airport departure lounge is chock a block with passengers whilst again a few months back I remember there were maximum 15 people when I left.
Patong - YUCK! All crowded and prices seems to have also gone up a bit, and they're all expecting a boom during the upcoming Christmas season.
My business friends are also very bullish and are back to their profligate ways of free spending/boozing/new cars etc. And Real estate - never mind the coup or the controversy on Foreign ownership - they're selling them like hot cakes - heard of a 230 unit development already more than half sold within 2 weeks (but this is of course quite a good deal with 2 bedroom townhouses selling for 2.5 million baht - quite a deal - but you can see that it's really booming

I've been in Karon/Patong areas in 2 weeks from 9.december to 23.december 2006. I would like to inform my fellow whorists about the situation right now.

Firstly I have to write that Karon is much cheaper compared to Patong. In some bars (for example "Allied Bar" in Karon) you just pay 200 Baht for barfine and only 1000 Baht for the girl (for whole night, of course).

I would like to recommend "Allied Bar" in Karon. Specially Ji, who is 24 y.o. and a very pretty Isaan woman. Tread her as you are a centelman please. She is a real pearl. Any way, almost all girls in "Allied Bar" in Karon are very hot, and the athmosphere is very cosy, too.

I tried also other bars in Karon, but as there weren't many girls in the other bars, the girl I picked up tried to go back to the bar as soon as possible. (Avoid bars, where there aren't many girls. Otherwise your night could be distroyed in this way, that you want to fuck, but the girl want to go back to the bar).

I have also been in some bars in Patong. The barfine is 500 Baht, and 2000 Baht for the girl. As I find this price a little bit high, I went to disco FBI/Tai Pan in Patong. (All bar girls go there after their bar is closed. And you can pick up a bar girl to a price of 1000 Baht for whole night. Of course the girl demand 2000 Baht, but if you negotiate you can get her for 1000 Baht. And of course you don't pay any barfine).

I would like to suggest my fellow whorists, that you have to make a very clear deal with the girl, before you get into a taxi/tuk tuk. (Specially freebees try to go back to Karon as soon as possible, in order to make more money. Another customer means another 1000 Baht, at least. Make it very clear that, if she doesn't want to stay all night with you, she can only get 500 Baht for short term and no money for taxi/tuk tuk. If you make a clear deal you avoid bad surprises).

Well, this is the actual situation in Karon/Patong areas in december 2006. I hope my informations are usefull.

I don't understand. Normal (unlocked) 2nd hand cell/mobile/handy phones are readily available in Thailand. Just plug in the Pay-ahead SIM Card (DTac or One-2-Call) and go in a few minutes. Get it working before parting with your cash.
Cell phones locked to a provider are around but I have never run into this problem in Thailand, probably because they are virtually worthless.

Here are my first day experience in Karon.

I arrived to Karon in Phuket the 10.th December 2006 after 12 hours flight (I live in Copenhagen/Denmark). I went to the beach. Swimmed a little bit. Back to my hotel (C.S. RESORT) I decided to take 1 hours Thai massage (for 250 Baht) in the massage-saloon just opposite to the hotel. The massage girl (named by Kie) ask me whether I want "special massage" or not. I would definetely like to get "special massage". Kie (23 y.o. Isaan woman) would get 1500 Baht for whole night. I say my room number and she would be with me from 00:h:00 am to 07:h:00 am. She came 5 minutes over midnight. We took a shower together. And I fucked her in 2 hours non-stop. So we felt in sleep. We woke up approximately 05:h:30 am, and she ride on me as if she was crazy approximately half an hour, and I fuck her approximately 40 minutes in doggy style. At 06:h:40 went we to shower. Can anyone recommend a local Patong bar/restaurant that plays live Thai music? I remember going to Elephant Bar at the northern end of Rat-U-Thit road a few years back. Patong is as fun as its always been. there is a huge choice down the Bangla Road but I still maintain the best looking girls are at the Dragon Go Go Club on Soi Dragon. That aside, I avoided the throngs by hanging out at the lesser known Soi round the back where the Thai club 'Nightstation' is housed. Here its air conditioned and the girls are less full on. on one night myself and 2 friends hired in 8 girls for one helluva party back at the hotel. We got 2 crackers from Dragon Club, 2 from small bars by Nightstation club, and made sure they all then invited a girlfriend each who they like to party with- that way you dont get any of the girls refusing to put on a lesbian show to kick the night off.

But the big surprise was hanging out at kata where the girls are far less pushy. There are some nice girlie bars opposite Club Med as well as a recently opened new bar complex on the same drag that no one has seemed to find yet! (also opposite Club Med) There you can relax in the quiet bars where invariably you are the only guy there and bar fine (if any) was no more than 200 bahts. I ended up with one Japanese girl from the Elephant bar for 2 days for 1500 a day.

Club wise- Tiger Disco and Taipan in Patong as popular as ever, and for after hours the open air club Safari is great for freelancers from 3am- 6am!

Airport: Taxi stand inside charged fixed rate of 550 /B to Patong Hotel. At departure there is 500/B tax to be paid in cash. They do accept foreign currency.

I will add my two cents about Christin Massage. It was pretty much as was described here. You walk up to the second floor and there is a small area with tables that is facing a rather large fish bowl. You can sit at a table and have a drink while you decide on your girl. I arrived after a 1.5 hr flight from Singapore. A pity customs took that long to clear, but my pre-arranged cab to the resort was waiting.

I stayed at Summer Breeze Hotel (summerbreezehotel.com), and I can see confusion in previous posts as to whether this is Summer Breeze Hotel or Inn. Just use the address I provided (from a business card) and you’ll get there. Bill is the American owner and he and his staff are excellent! The hotel is literally 300-400 meters from Bangla Rd, which is where the action is. The hotel is an open-air venue, featuring a front desk, bar, and tables for dining. When you add the free wireless internet, the place a real gem!! The place is totally girl friendly and if you come after hours, the security guard will take the girl’s ID until morning (or whenever). I took one lady back at about 930pm and the girl behind the bar came out to retrieve the lady’s ID.

Bangla Road (action central) runs perpendicular to the beach and has numerous SOIs (side streets) that branch off. The bars on the side streets are open-air bars, where the girls come to set up around 4-6pm. You can literally walk from one bar to the next by merely stepping backwards, as there is nothing but a small sign posted somewhere telling you where you are. The girls normally stay within their bounds, as the bar fine goes to their bar (of course, they get a cut).

The lady boys are performing dances in several of the SOIs as well as on the Bangla Rd. If you want a picture of them dancing, it’s not a problem…but if you want your picture taken with one/two of them, expect to pay 40-80 Baht (US$2-3), as they’ll follow you screaming at you until you pay them.

Action can be had anytime of the day or night, but it’s just a little more challenging find decent talent between 8-11am. I found the typical bar fine ran from 300-500 Baht, but if you mongered really late (3am) you may walk away without having to forfeit the bar’s take (bars close and the women would prefer sleeping in your hotel as opposed to the shit hole of a room they normally stay).

This place is a little different from the Philippines, in that you pay a bar fine and then you pay the girl whatever you negotiate. If you take the girl for LT (normally a 24hr period) and decide you want to keep her for the next day, you’ll have to return to the bar of origin to pay that day’s bar fine. In contrast, from my experience in PI…you pay the bar fine to the bar and that includes the associated 24 hr service.

I found the action normally ran 1,000 Baht for ST and 2,000 Baht for LT, but again…that was a little negotiable depending on the circumstances. There are a couple of bars where prices were unreal and ranged 5,000-10,000 Baht, for which I just chuckled and walked away. I ran across one little spinner gyrating on a pole and immediately bought her a lady drink (130 Baht). After a bit I offered 1,000 for ST and she and the bartender laughed at me. In perfect English…she said she gets 10,000 Baht for ST and got 20,000 for LT the previous night. Sure…she was a real looker and had a killer body, but those rates are higher than Wash, DC-NYC GFE rates!!

Arrival/Day 2
I decided to go walk about the first evening and was amazed at the in-your-face attitude of everyone. I picked up Lom from the Butterfly Bar on one of the SOIs off Bangla. Here’s the latest: I went to Vachira Hospital in Phuket town (the place where many of the ferang tsunami victims were treated for free, remember?) to see Khun (= Ms) Saijai (21) and her family. She was a disturbingly sorry sight, covered in bandages with her face a mess of burned and re-growing skin, still making it impossible for her to speak. Her family was there with her helping with the care. The little girl Sairung (2) is actually still too scared to look at her own mom (no wonder: she looks like the “Mummy” from the horror movie). The husband was there too and seems to be an OK guy, but who knows what the future will hold for their marriage now that his young wife is scarred for life.

The good news is that Khun Saijai has been moved to a clean private room downstairs that has bug screens (no a/c). Tomorrow they’ll begin with skin grafts. The room is FREE as the head nurse Khun Ni Lobon tells me, and so are the treatments. All hospital expenses are covered by the Thai national health system. They have plenty of anaesthetic and antibiotic cream in their refrigerator and seem very concerned and not too busy. In my estimation the treatment Khun Saijai getting is no worse than what my sister got at Scripps Memorial Hosp in California at the expense of UCSD’s HMO before she died.

The bad news however is that Khun Saijai will be in the hospital for a whole month and the family has no income right now, as mother and daughter cannot work. Only the father/grandfather is now working the beach as a vendor. Khun Saijai just has bought a new moped and needs to make payments of THB 3000 every month to keep it. They own their own little house in Chalong all paid for, but utilities, food and water need to be paid for. Probably some property taxes too. They seemed to be really pleased about the humble cakes and drinking yoghurts I had brought for them and the modest toys (coloring books and pencils) to keep the little girl busy.

I offered THB 4000 (about ~ EUR/USD 120) to cover their immediate needs. Khun Pennee hesitantly accepted it, but not as a gift but an advance on future massage services!

Hope this is only the beginning of more donations to come. I’ll be happy to handle the details. ThanksYou can get some of the more expensive resorts in the Laguna area of Phuket through bidding on Priceline, but those are NOT the places you want to be staying if you are looking to go mongering. Rather, these are the types of resorts you would want to pick if you were travelling with your family or Significant Other to Phuket.

If I were travelling there in an off-season period, I would have no qualms about just showing up somewhere and seeing what was available. But during peak tourism season, you should book a place in advance - maybe through one of the major reservation sites that cover Thailand, like Sawaddee.com, asia-hotels.com, or PrecisionReservations.com

Recently there have been many questions from family members coming with at least spouse and searching for some mongering opportunity while under suspicious supervision.

I just finished one week Phuket/ Patong Beach with my spouse and may give some hints.
My first stay in Phuket, so excuse me if similar things have been reported already, but at least I couldn’t find the last 20 pages back.

First is to say that it is mandatory to stay in Patong Beach if you intend to do any beside satisfying your spouse. Only there it is possible I would say.

Regarding the beach scenery it can be said that about 70% (or more?) of the female sunbathers and beach walker’s (of course mostly tourists) are 0-4’s in our scale in terms of looks, body shapes etc. In the middle of the high season Lunar New Year week the Japanese and some Chinese females are rather an exception. They are younger in age as well, but in general keep their bodies much better in shape (ok don’t want to mention ourselves, as not much better, but this board is about female). Never understand why European female tourists break the Thai rules and go topless by all means (some 10 %?) and especially the 0-1 rated oldest ones with the most ugly breasts. So kind of freak show potential on the beach if anybody would be into this – probably nobody on this board.

Regarding mongering under suspicious supervision it all depends on how much time and which time of the day you can spend for yourself away from your family/ spouse.

Recommendation 1:

The most less suspicious time would be probably in the morning and afternoon time from 11:00 – 15:00h or more. It should be possible for you to have some beach walk, buy newspapers, have a beer alone, while your spouse is taking sunbath.

Then walk the beach road in the area where the road is behind some buildings and not directly behind the beach. So between Bangla Road and Sawatdirak Road (Bangla Road north about 500 m). There are many massage parlour shops and the women are usually dressed in yellow T-shirts and rather mod/ elder age. This is not what you are looking for. You have to look for females offering massage on some cards who are dressed in short pants, show long leg and also partially where some high heals. Here you will find your morning/ lunchtime/ afternoon pleasure offering more then massage. Not a challenge and easy to identify and distinguish. If you have found this board you can also spot those ladies.

There are definitely very good looking ladies there, better then most in the beer bars and GoGo bars. I recommend stopping at the lady you like looking at the card and saying yes. She will bring you immediately away from the road (better! You shouldn’t be seen there long time talking right?) and guide you through some back shopping alleys to a massage shop.
There you can start discussion about service and extras (“lets have a look at your massage offerings.”).

The downside:

1) They try to charge you as much as possible and may start with rediciolous prices so from 4000 or 3000 Baht. So a little hassle and a bit inconvenient. You should counter offer 1000 and settle not more then for 1500. Show intention to leave and do it if they don’t want to come down far enough. There are enough on offer.
2) The room is not more then a big room divided by curtains. So during the act you may hear your fellow monger some curtain boxes next to you and so does he hear you. However in the morning afternoon time you may have the chance that it is not so busy and you are alone in the room. No shower provided.
3) Don’t recommend to try DATY and DFK’s (didn’t try so don’t know if possible) as this girls have high frequency of customers an hygienic circumstances are not perfect ( besides that my girl smelled really good, so some hidden shower might be there for them and their protection, but not enough for me to go for it). Don’t need to mention condom use, do I?
4) There is the tendency to serve you as quick as possible and as soon as you delivered the shot in the condom you are more or less done. Its more a 10-30 Max? minutes session for quick shot delivery then a GFE.

The upside:
You can experience a pretty nice shaped local talent lady at unsuspicious beach hours. Isn’t that what you dreamed from?

I took one for the community more in the early evening. A black 19 Year old Thai beauty from the south. Body shape 9, including remarkable shaped (natural) B Cup breasts, slim nice legs, no kid. Face 8. Still rather tight. Good moving but dedicated to quick satisfaction.

I got permission to visit some bars myself. The GoGo’s start from about 8-9:00h (I guess). Still a time where you may be able to escape from your spouse (pretending to drink a beer, while she goes shopping). The good news is that some GoGo’s have rooms directly above the bars which you can rent. So you will not be seen running with a girl outside on the street for ST. Once disappeared behind the doors of the GoGo bar you can operate everything from there.

I was visiting all GoGo’s. In one bar (forgot which one) a girl approached me quickly. Rating 7,5, silicon extended (but well done) breasts. Was rather attaching and I decided to ‘suffer’ one for the community and try out the short time in the room above. Before I noticed a funny situation: Some nurse dressed lady came in and distributed papers to the girls. I would just comment that European women often have no hangups about exposing their body (particularly breasts) regardless of their beauty or lack of it. I am a little surprised that you have hangups about it or perhaps you just feel that they are 'Nah Darn' (very exhibitionist) to Thai eyes.

Yes that is pathetically expensive.. considering the Baht is ridiculously strong at the moment around 34-37 per 1 USD..

3500-4500 for 90mins (or outrageous requests for around the 10,000 mark which I've read here and elsewhere) is basically approaching what I would pay at home, or in a Western country, let alone a 3rd world island full of rice farmers' daughters, or dead-end tourist town.

Got your points. I forgot to mention that my local guide is a personal Thai friend of mine so he is not in the business of fleecing me.

Also, we did the "walking away" tactic to test these Fantasia guys and test their pricing. They would not come down from 3, 500 be.- and this was about 30mn before closure with plenty of gals available. Go and figure.Hate to belabor the point - but even if he's a "personal Thai Friend of mine" - the very fact that he does not drive his own car (or preferrably be driven around by his chauffeur) and need to go around with you in a taxi says a lot. It indicates to me that this "Thai Friend" of yours most probably is not the type/does not have the wherewithall to be a regular at Fantasia - well known in Phuket as being one of the top clubs in Phuket. What are the chances that a "Regular Joe Thai" befriending a Farang/foreigner would mind being able to make a few baht on the side. Yowich, sorry guy. Just had to say it!

I stayed there a year ago for weeks and had a great time. The staff is good (though I never got an long island ice tea looking like wodka. She forgeot the coke.) and friendly, bill helps a lot and especially the nighthy is just great. Maybe I got a bad room (no real window and very small) for the category. But the kind of room I had I can get cheaper. And because I will stay just for some days in patong I decided to look for something else. Summer Breeze has reasonable prices. I just don't need the additional "service" factor. Just a room for the day. So it's just a question of personal favor/needs and travel style. Nothing against the breeze.

Phuket (Patong Beach) is cheaper than Bangkok.

The current price for beautifull girls Bar girls in Phuket is 1000 ST and 1500 LT . As there are about 10 girls for 1 customer and about 2 beautifull girls for 1 customer, it's easy to negotiate. I went to some bars where the girls which were not ugly had no customer night after night.

In discos you can get a cheaper price than the above price.

One of my best experience was a young girl at Tiger Disco asking 500 for ST.

Avoid massage parlors.

I chose the see-room for 1. 200 a night. As I am very exhausted by work and sickness in this strange german winter I assume to be I'll anyway. As I will meet my girl from last year (shame on me) who has a "usable" appartment I do not worry the joiner fee too much.

(Apologies in advance for experience Phuket mongerers, this was my first experiences in Phuket last week, I thought it may be useful information anyhow for those of us not so Phuket-experienced)

Went to the Taipan discotheque (Patong) the other night (Saturday night). Went there at about 10pm, there wasn't so many people there despite the live band. People started to come in about 11pm with lots of chicks coming in in groups of 2 or 3. This is a great place to meet some of these freelancers (vs the purely "domesticated pets" (sorry to say, but so it is) of those fishbowls and MP's), have a chat and a drink and then pick up. Picked up a nice girl by the name of Fa, visiting Phuket for a couple of weeks from Bangkok where she lives. Talked with her for about 1 hour, had a couple drinks, then brought her back to my hotel and banged and had a two-shoter. Great BBBJ skills. Taipan is a great place to begin the night. There is a band and enough room to find a sit while waiting for 1 am, when most girls begin to go to disco. However, most girls are too old (especially the ones who come early), and from 1 am it gets too hot and full of smoke. That's usually the time I leave to go to Tiger to find younger girls and better aircon.

I'm currently in Phuket. It's still quite full at the end of March and girls are not as much starving for men as I though. But Phuket is still a buyers' market.

Previous poster on varying rates is all about supply and demand. Day 1 at Banana, was amazed at the gazillion men vs women ratio. With that said, I didn't bargain as I felt that 2000 is still an incredible bargain. With that said, perhaps I am stupid, but I think that my money goes further and means more for the girl that it does for me. Perhaps a reflection of my age (or I am a sucker ! ), but for an extra $20, it is worth it. This assumes of course that it turns out to be a GFE. If it is, I keep her, if it isn't I don't. Last trip, a keeper. I overspent by $60. Oh well!

In opposite to info here on the board they did not charged me a joiner fee extra on the 1200 a night. But maybee this was because I took the same girl every nighht and did not behaved like a typicall monger (like I did in Pattaya the next days). Additionally my girl is no longer in the scene but works in a hotel as receptionist. Maybee this also made them not charge me (collegues.). But like in all hotels: to be sure, just ask them in advance. If you are to shy to be precise just ask if it would cost anything extra if you bring a "friend" you plan to meet there.

On the scene in general: like the last years. Phuket definetlz is upscale in prices (for Thailand) but a beatiful place to make holidays. If you just want to monger around you should go to pattaye. There the lt is 1000 (and still negotiable) while you should think of 2000 for an LT in patong. You can get it cheaper with freelancers in tai pan for sure (just stay on soi san sabaai when it closes). I did not checkedthat out because I have my girl there (really more a friend now, trz to help here get a farang for marriage. That is not exactly our hobby but also some funb)

Sure, its on a beach far from the bright lights of a major city but there are many reasons for me not to go there again. The biggest problem with Banana is that they dont seem to limit the number of paying customers to enter. That's why there is often no room to move (and you even have to fight your way to the bar), the ratio of male farangs to thai girls is way too high and the air temperature and lack of ventilation can make it suffocating.

For the guys that go there with the prospect of picking up a freelancer, there is little reason to go inside as many of the girls will hang outside after a while anyway. And considering there are thousands of girls just around the corner (willing to go for less money) it makes me wonder why anyone would bother with Banana for girls. Perhaps some guys feel less guilty about disco freelancers and dont believe they are sleeping with a WG later that night.

And how different is mongering in Cambodia from Phuket?May-June is a good time to visit Cambodia as tourist/monger numbers are lower, however the weather can put you off if it's pouring with rain (most likely in June/July).

The mongering scene in Cambodia is very different. It is far less visable and for the foreigner the number of available girls is a small fraction of Phuket/Thailand. You will spend more time on seeking out girls that suit you and the party scene in general is way bigger in Phuket. The P4P scene in Cambodia is slow paced, which decribes the country in general.

Probably a good idea to read all the posts on the Phnom Penh board which will give you a good idea what it's like there.

A quick answer as some temples are waiting.

So, this is the first difference from Thailand if you go to siam reap. Ere there are temples and no beachers so you have to spend mre energy during the day. This definetlz efects my mongering behavior. (and I am just 36 years.)

I hard and will check out next week that pnomh ponh is worth a visit just for the fun part in the nightlife. Will report then.

Time in may/June may be o. K. If you like rain. Rainy season starts about that time. Maybe jou ca have luck in may. But it wil be fuckiing hot in the daytime.

Here in siam reap you hould have some interest in the temples because the city is build because of that. Funny thing is that you really see a lot of different people (Chinese, korean, japanese, thai, europeans, americans) and they al meeet up in the known places (check this thread).

I am staying in the gorlden orange hotel with was recommended here with very good arguments. The owner formerlz owned a bar in pnomh pen and I was just beeing out with him ans some friend with gave me a wonedrful niught to remember.

Scene here is not that way as it is in Thailand, because here are no speciialized areas. It is more the way that there are some masage parlors with service, spome bars\discotheques and some places for "takeawayfood". As there are many rtourists without special mongering experience some places survive that rip you of (50 bucks a fuck. No way). But you can get an allnighter for 20.

Conclusion: if you like temples and the feeling of a booming melting pot siam reap is definetly worth a visit. And you don't have to sleep alone. If your main focus is the nightlife maybe go directlz to pnomh pen (I will be there next week for ust 2 nights. As I like temples.)

ThenoopRoyal Paradise hotel in Patong would be a good choice for U. The hotel has several pools (one large one, and two small ones). It's also girl-friendly. Relatively close to Soi Bangla. Only aobut a 15 minute walk away. If you are looking to spend less money, then Patong Villa is another option. Very close to Soi Bangla. Only about a 5 minute walk away. Girl friendly hotel, friendly reception staff. But hotel pool is only OK (a bit small). Good luck.

ThenoopThe Yorkshire is a good choice. It is very close to Bangla Road. The walk to the beach is easy. The Yorkshire is on a road called Soi Sansabai and is full of FL's after the other bars and clubs close. The food is acceptable. Unless you ugrade, the rooms are on the small side without a view.

The Sea Sun Sand Resort is not bad. It is girl friendly. There is a pool. The rooms are larger with an outside view. The location is not bad and is only slightly farther away from the nighttime action.

Staff service is adequate in the restaurant and house keeping. The rooms are small and do not have a very good view unless you get one of the front rooms or an upfront apartment.

The Sun Sand Sea Resort would be a better alternate IMO, for room size, and room rates. A pool and restaurant are on the premises. This resort was guest friendly with no joiner fee when I visited in October.

I've only stayed on Patong. I stayed at the Holiday Inn last time, but that was Pre-Tsunami. I'm looking forward to Christine's again, I hope it's not too far down hill now. (While on the subject, did someone say they're not a Soapy now, that would be terrible).

Sorry if I answer late to previous posts. I was busy for some time. About Banana, one members says there are more men than girls. Maybe it's sometimes like that. What you forget is that many are young guys who have little money to spend for girls, and the girls know it. I also agree there are many girls outside. It just depends if you like dancing or not, I guess. It's not the best disco in Thailand, but there isn't much more in Patong Beach.

I never had any particular price problem in Patong Beach, and I've been there five times in two years. So I don't understand why other members have this problem.

The 1000ST/1500LT is considered as a kind of standard price in Phuket. It has been confirmed to me by several girls I picked up in bars or discos that it is a fair price in phuket, not a cheap Charley price. I never go to GoGos, so I don't know the price level there, but 4000 seems ridiculous to me.

Girls usually ask you: "have you been to Phuket before?". If you say "no" (never say no!), they will try to charge 2000LT. If you say "many times", they know you know the price level.

When I see a girl I like in a bar or disco, I go talk to her et have no problem with this price. I don't need to negotiate hard. As I said before, they usually ask to see me the next day.

Contrary to what Gwailo suggests, I don't need to wait late or pick-up girls in the street. I pick them up any time and anywhere! If you wait late in the street or anywhere, you get a cheaper price than 1000ST/1500LT. You can see many young guys in Banana who have little money. They never pay 1000ST/1500LT.

I think there is nothing exceptional with me, I just let them understand I know the rules of the game.

I told the guy that prices must have gone up and asked him if he was charging us the farang prices... He gave us the typical 'take-away': "These are the prices, if you don't like them, leave". ...and that's exactly what we did. Papa san sure didn't expect that judging from the surprised look on his face.

As for the quality of the ladies on display... it was quite bad. The 1800 bath section was supposed to be 28 years and up, but the youngest one I could spot was at least 40.The medium section had some really ugly chubby girls in their mid thirties,and finally the 'top' section had some younger girls, mid twenties, with way too much make up on (red flag) and even then, didn't look appealing.

I saw some other German tourists sitting there as well, and also heard them mumbling about the bad quality vs. high prices.

I've been coming to Asia for over 10 years now, so am able to differentiate between the beautiful, mediocre and plain ugly ones. A lot of first time visitors to Thailand get a boner from any Thai chick they see walking on the street and I can't help thinking that some of the guys who wrote the previous reports about Christin's belong to that category.

As for the other massage shops around Patong: this has been said before, but I would like to reiterate: When you see some very cute girl(s) outside the shops begging you to come in for a massage... she is often not the actual girls that will be performing the massage.

We encountered several times that we would see some cute girls, are led up some stairs to some shitty upstairs room with curtains, and in walks this old ugly massage lady. I then of course ask where the cute girl is, and suddenly she's nowhere to be found (can you say 'bait and switch' ?). Needless to say I get out of there as fast as I can and even downstairs outside, I don't see the girl.

So my advise would be, when you spot a cute girl outside the shop, DO NOT lose her out of sight, and insist outside the shop the she will be performing the massage. Don't be surprised when she gives you some lame ass excuse that she is not able to do it.

So far Phuket (actually I should say Patong) has unfortunately been greatly disappointing. While Patong is interesting to experience at night, good value for money is hard to find. Most of the girls, if not all, (and the many lady boys) all walk around trying to rip off some clueless tourist and suck him dry completely.

BKK or even Hua Hin give much much greater value for money and the in-your-face-rip-off mentality is much less present in those places.

I know a a guy who has lived here for over 15 years and after I told him about my Patong experience, he laughed and told me that the good stuff was to be found in Phuket Town. According to him, most of the sex tourists go to Patong, and the locals find their stuff in Phuket town. He was kind enough to add however that finding your way around in Phuket town as anything but easy: "It took me more than 5 years to build my portfolio of quality action places in Phuket town". I guess the fact that he speaks fluent Thai also helps.

i will be in patong in june. yipeee. i have been there about 20 times now and god i love it. i do agree that the mongering scene is not that great. but i have always been lucky finding girls in regular bars. the only catch is you have to find a girl and stick with her for the entire trip, assuming your trip is for a week or so.

try to find girls in regular bars who are on the border, not full time workers, but who are in between. if you have a few conversations and practice a few times, you will get in the groove of identifying which ones are full-time and which ones arent.

once you find someone like that, ask her if she could accompany you for lunch/dinner/after-nite clubbing/day trip etc. and if you get someone to say yes, you have almost hit homerun. first night spend as much as you can i. e. in terms of buying beers/lunch/dinner etc.

second night and for the rest of the nights shes all yours. total cost for me for the entire week is about 5k. (most of the times).

i do agree its a bit tough and might take some time. but its fun and give it a try if you are there next time. in the 20 times i was there, i had a 60% hit rate on the girl-friendy thing and the rest of the times, i settle for something else.

Visited Dang Massage yesterday. It's a massage shop just outside of the Laguna resort area. It's close to the Gentlemens Club (ignore that place, no action).

Met this very nice, slim, tall girl called Li. Inside it's actually not bad. No curtains to separate the massage beds but covered glass divider walls. Gives you a bit more privacy.

Li gives an excellent oil massage (300bath/hour). Her skills were so good that half way during the session I started to think that this was a legitimate massage place. When I turned over, I started asking her some questions and put my hand on her behind. That was her cue to ask if I wanted 'naughty massage'.

I asked her for the options and got, yet again, a cold reminder that we are in greedy Phuket: "No boom-boom. 3000 for hand job". I tell you... this town must be full of super dumb, sex starved morons for the girls to ask for these kind of prices... what a waste :(

After some fierce negotiations which almost spoiled the entire mood that the excellent massage had created, she agreed on 500 baht for a HJ + her taking off all her clothes.

The HJ was pretty good and she delayed several times to make it last longer.

A total of 800 baht for an excellent massage with happy ending is not bad but it's still considerably higher than what some of the previous reports are quoting.

The upscale Laguna resort area (Banyan Tree, Dusit, Sheraton, etc.) is probably supplying them with a lot of rich horny husbands that managed to escape from their wives for an hour... but still... asking 3000 baht for a HJ ????? As many people say "Only in Phuket!".

All very true but actually it seems a lot depends on luck too. I went to Christin's yesterday just after lunch for the first time in about 4 years. My only visit before had been a hurried affair and I thought the whole thing was overated. This time though I went in the afternoon. The OKT told me the 3 prices 1800 for the bottom, 2300 for medium and 2800 for top. In total there were probably about 10 girls to choose from There were 2 huge grandmas in the bottom category and 2 slim girls in the top category but defintiely not my cup of tea. Way too tarty. So I chose one of the girls in the medium category.
Paid the money and up we went. She turned out to be really pleasant and gave me a really good time. The only thing I would maybe object on is that the bj was with a condom. As I left I gave her a 100 bt tip and she seemed fine with that. A very enjoyable experience.

This was my experience in December. About 50 girls in three classes: 1800, 2200, and 2500 THB. Only the 2500 category is acceptable. For this price you have girls you would pay 1800 in Bangkok MPs. I choosed number 11 and service was not so good and uninspired. It was more like a sport exercise rather than an erotical experience.
I had better experiences for 1000 THB ST with girls I picked up in bangla bars or in Tiger Disco.

I am looking for upscale to moderate hotels that have private pool suites for the booked rooms. I understand that the term "upscale" is subjective. I am looking for a Hilton/Marriott experience as far as quality of rooms goes.

I am searching in a few areas.

1. Patong is the prime hunting ground. I'm not sure if Patong has pool suites but am curious if there are other beaches in close proximity that do.

2. I'm considering a day trip to an outlying island. I'd be interested in a pool suite/cabana/villa that has a plunge pool. This would include Krabi, Phi Phi, etc.....

There will be 5 of us traveling in June and we all want separate rooms ideally with our own pool/jacuzzis that are outdoors and upscale/Hilton/Marriott'ish.

For the record, I love independent hotels. I have no affiliation with Marriott/Hilton.... just used them as an example for the quality I am looking for.

We rented a 3 bed 3 bath villa for 3750 per night. 1250 each per night. Great value. Anyway as to the serious stuff GIRLS

Coconut bar chalong some decent 200 bar fine 1000 24 hrs for girl. Mama good laugh but girls english VERY limited

Lips rawai 200 bar fine. No girl can leave before 11pm 1000 per 24 hrs. Good english spoken and 2 absolute crackers Try Ning as she is a real **** up for anything. 4 other bars in chalong and 3 more in rawai all 200 bar fine and 1000 per 24hrs.

Check out Ikon nightclub in Nai Harn. Not worth getting there before 1:30am as girls not taken in bars tend to go there just in case they can find someone. Entrance free beers 100 spirits with mixer 150. Brick built with full A/see. More like a european club than Thai.

Took girl with me but had further choice of at least 20! Some don't care if you are with a girl they still try to get you to go with them For a fat 50 yr old I was well flattered!

Girls are relatively new as the bars seem to use the low season to " break them in " as it where. I am newbie to Karon, 1st time mongering in Karon. I was bitterly surprised when, having picked up a gal from Taipan in Patong, I came back to my hotel (Karon Sea Sands Resort) and the receptionist asked me to fork out 1,000 B as joiner's fee. I had not enough paid atention to this concept of joiner's fee on the Board prior to flying to Karon so I was very pissed (basically the price of a screw!). The following day I went to nego this non-sense joiner's fee with the Manager and he offered to drop it to 500 B. What the hell, I had no choice, having pre-paid my hotel already.
Questions to all mongers: is it possivble, after hard nego, to have the joiner's fee waived? Or do you think I got an OK deal ?

Anyway, next day picked up a gal at one of the many bars in the main street of Karon (a bar near "allies Bar", can't remember the name). Picked up a gal by the sweet name of Bo, bar fined 300B. she was quite GFE, long time (from 11pm to 8am) incl BBBJ+CIM and 3 shots. She was sweet, di not ask for any money upfront or even after he session, so I gave her 1,300 B, she did not even look at he money when I passed it to her and put it in her pocket not knowing the amount -- I was surprised. I may have overpaid a bit - sorry for that-- but her attitude was nice.

I know it's low season in Karon but still a few opportunities in those bars adn decent pricing.

However when you go to a place for only 2 or 3 nights for say a long week-end, and you are not a backpacker, difficult not to book ahead of time including in some cases prepay on sites like Asianrooms. The mistake I made was that I should have called the hotel directly and asked them what their policy is regarding outside guests. Live and learn! I guess the savings I made on Asianrooms got smashed by the bloody joiner's fee (joiner's fee= pimp hotel!).

I didn't get to spend much time in Kata or Karon and plan to do so more this time, even though I'm not actually staying there (wondering why, a little bit). I'm thinking about renting a car to explore, but I'm a little worried about driving on the Left. We'll see.

How easy is it to get from Kata/Karon to Patong, with the Tuk Tuk drivers demanding four pounds of gold bullion to take you there? What is their actual price for that, or to go to town (Fantasia)? Is it manageable to "hang out" in Kata/Karon and go back home to Patong? The scene and bars actually sound more to my liking (although I do like the looks of this hotel Baipho).

I'm disappointed to hear about the downfall of Christin's, I was looking forward to it. So now I'm trying to plot alternative areas.

Tuk-tuk will ask you 300-400 Baths for one-way but you can get it down to 250Baths for a single trip Karon/Patong (or the other way round). If you pick up a chick from Karon, she will come to Patong (and vice-versa), but you will need to give her taxi money (ie the aforementioned 250-300B) in addition to the screw money (1000-1500 B) so she can get back to where you took her.

Times are changing. When I was last time in Phuket, about 13 years ago, I used to stay in Karon and went for nightlife to Patong. Tuk Tuk were expensive at that time. They asked for 100 Bath for one way. Which was at this time about 5 Dollar.
So, I rent a Motorbike for 120 Bhat a day and it was great fun to drive with that along the coastal road to Patong. No problems to bring the girls from Patong to Karon, since I drove them back the next noon.

A rental car would be a complete pain to drive and park, while a motorbike is cheap fun. To me the ride south from Patong along the beach through Karon & Kata beaches to the lookout high above the shore is great fun and a fantastic view back north towards the beaches. Of course having a cute lady hanging on the back doesn't hurt on bit either. From Patong to the north is also fun stoping at Kamala and Surin beaches for a drink to quench the parched throat. One word of caution, the police like to set up temporary "inspections stations" along the road looking for bike drivers without a helmet (helmets for passengers aren't required) and for drivers without there home country drivers license. This can ruin an otherwise great experience and relieve you of 300b.

Motorbikes are dangerous. I was reminded of this fact when I heard of a young Swedish guys working in a hotel in Karon 2 weeks back who had a motorbike accident and is now in a coma.

The state of the roads, the way locals drive etc may not be familiar to travellers from overseas so be aware at your own risks. You may pay a bit more for tuk-tuks but less risks.

In low season it's easy to find automatic bikes for 150 a day. It' enough to move on Nanai Road area and not deal on the beach. Higher season 200. 250 just in peak season in this area.

Just watch out when on a motorbike and drive defensively and moderately slowly. The Thais are horrible drivers whether on a bike or a car, and I can't tell you how many times I've seen idiot musclehead, juiced up farangs doing wheelies and hauling ass down Phuket's narrow roads on their big street bikes they rent. I guess the juice they're on makes them feel invincible, but unfortuately, they are an accident or a death waiting to happen. I have an expat friend who's never been in an accident in 5 years of living here lying in the hospital as we speak. A Thai driving a car hit him and now he doesn't remember because of the head trauma he suffered. Please be careful and always wear your helmet, no matter what time of night it is.

Tip: If you have a Thai girlfriend have her negotiate the price for the motorbike rental. In March I got a brand new Honda Air Blade for 100 bht per day on a 9 day rental. This was on Beach Road on about soi 6.
It wasn't a fluke, it's been the same rate for the last three years.

I am happy to report that I will finnally be going to Phuket/ Patong next year. Im slated to arrive on Feb 12, in Phuket. I would most like to hear input from all of you. I will be doing this trek solo and would appreciate any tips, tricks and such. Thanks to all of you I believe I have found the best hotel accomadation, and think i have a solid foundation of knowledge to start my first Asian expedition. I have done solo trips to D.R. and Jamacia and Im hoping this will be the Best yet. In addition If anyone will be in phuket around this time, I would appreciate you showing me around if possible. btw I am 36 from Salem ma, USA. i was invited by a group of thai friends again for our annual golf pilgrimage to phuket, this time we played at phuket country club and blue canyon.

left bangkok on friday morning flight, and had the misfortune of having my wallet drop out of my pants pocket whilst i was fully reclined sleeping (we were lucky to be placed in the 1st class section of the b-747 :d). i did not realize that i had dropped it until after i was unpacking in my hotel room. kudos to tg, as they had it at the 'lost & found' at phuket airport waiting for me.

anyway, after hitting the greens at phuket country club, we had a traditional thai massage at metropole hotel. there were 4 of us, and we took a common room, and laid out on the mattresses provided.

as i am really not into the kneading and folding of me poor joints, i really an "oil man" by heart, i asked the masseuse to just focus on the feet and legs. her name was joy (no. 19), and quite sweet and youngish (please remember, it's a traditional massage place), and hailed from khon kaen. what i found interesting was that she took very discreet 'touches' of little panya whilst massaging my thighs -- note that i was dressed in the traditional thai garb that you change into for the thai massage.

at first, i thought nothing of it, but after it happened 3-4 times, my imagination was stirred. ;) started having a whispered conversation with her, as i didn't want my mates listening in. i told her that i prefer oil massage, to which she replied that she could also provide, but it would be in private rooms. i commented that the air-conditioning was so cold at the place, and i would probably freeze during an oil massage session. i then asked whether she could provide in-room massage instead (we were staying at the metropole). she answered that in-room massage was limited to only thai traditional, as the hotel management did not want the bed-sheets messed up with oil. i wondered whether if it was that the management really didn't want customers being naked in-room with the masseuse.

however, she told me that she could sneak in a small bottle of oil, if i really preferred in-room oil massage. i promised to contact her the next day, and she gave me a mysterious smile, with a tinge of shyness.

after the massage, we went down to the basement of the hotel where the pink lady chamois karaoke is located. as we were walking down the steps, we passed by the ladies washroom, and i had a peek. a sweet young thing was closing the door, and when she saw me looking, she flashed a big smile.

once we walked through the door, this bar confronted us, behind which were about thirty young (early ~ mid 20s) girls sitting and waiting. on the other side of the room, was another smaller bar counter, and there were only 3 girls, much older – these were the “happy endings”. the system was that ‘happy endings’ would cost baht 2,000 for one shot – no way, too old and worn-looking!!

so, we sat at the bar where all the young ‘uns were, and to our surprise, they still had our bottle of jw swing that we bought from 1 yr. 3 months ago – it barely had 3 shots left !! they just won “panya’s customer service award for 2007”!

i asked one of the mama-sans that i wanted the girl i saw in the ladies’ washroom, and after a couple of minutes, she showed up and perched herself on the bar stool next to me. her name was mieu, 23 years, and had a really chirpy personality.

i had to sign a chit that gave me just 45 minutes of her time, one raspberry flavoured drink for her, at a cost of baht 300. over the course of the next 30 minutes, my mates gradually selected their partners and were settled-in. we then realized that they had slaughter down to a fine art.

as the evening progressed, we noticed a couple of behaviour patterns among the girls in each 45 minute session:

* the girl would go to the washroom once.
* drift off to chat with another customer once for about 10 5-10 minutes.
* asked whether we could buy one of their friends who’s not seated a drink – which turned out to be a tequila shot.

we were also asked to order food since they had not taken their dinner, and because we each started our 45 minutes at different times, we could not leave! when my 45 minutes was up, one or two of my mates were just 10 minutes into their 45 minutes, so i would invariably renew my girl for another 45 minutes. so on and on it went, and all we got out of it was some hugs and kisses, no p4p available where these girls were concerned.

the only positive side of the place is that soft drinks/mixers are free flowing, so long as your bottle still had shots in it.

needless to say, we decided to call it a night at about 12 o’ clock, too tired to wander off elsewhere. we mulled going to rome place to pick up some wls, but as the hour was late and we all had another golf game the next day, decided to turn in.

Day 2 dawned bright and sunny, and we headed to Blue Canyon for our game. For brother golfers, I thought the championship course was over-rated. From what I heard, I was expecting stunning and spectacular vistas, but the 1st Nine was basically a rubber plantation. The 2nd Nine was more challenging and scenic.

We played a 3rd Nine at the Lakes course, and I found this much more beautiful and memorable.

On the overall, the course maintenance was very good and of high standards – worth the No. 3 rating in all of Asia (so I was told).

After the let-down of the night before at Pink Lady Chamois, we decided to head for our ole faithful Fantasia. Nothing’s changed in terms of the décor, and the girls available seemed lower in quality, with average looks at 5-6 only.

We sat at the bar stools, watched the show, and scanned the girls behind the counters. When we first walked-in, there were 3 coyote dancers on stage, and we were informed that they would cost Baht 2,000 for ST and Baht 2,500 for LT. We were a bit slow, as the coyote dancers were the best of the lot, and when we realized it, they had all been booked by another party.
