You shouldn't have any problems to combine diving with some R&R if you go to Phuket. Having been there last month, I recommend you stay in Patong then, where the bars of Soi Bangla will offer you anything you need to have some fun. It's low season now, so the night entertainment at other beaches seemed to be somewhat limited from what I gathered.
Also bear in mind that the rainy (or "green") season, which is on right now, brings regular showers and thunderstorms. That doesn't mean that the weather's bad all the time, but it can sometimes affect the quality of diving, i.e. limited visibility and/or rough boat rides to the dive sites.

It is the begining of Monsoon Season, so the diving will not be at its best. Bumpy rides, rought seas at the dive sites and pooer vis in the more shallow sites at places like Racha Ya and Racha Noi!

No problem-o, bro! Just a point of clarification -- my trip was spent entirely in Phuket town itself, we did not go to any of the beach areas, e.g. Kata, Patong, etc.
FANTASIA is a nightclub-cum-karaoke in the center of town, and not to be confused with FANTASEA which is a theme park (worth a visit just to see the cultural show, though).

I'm searching for, if it exists, A small bungalow on beach. The kind that is a hut on stilts. You get the idea. Does anyone who has been to Phuket know of such a bungalow. Most of the bungalow's I have found are not really my idea of a bungalow, there are hotels with large apartments. Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Im looking for dirt cheap, private and no companion fee. Any other recomendations are welcome. ill be staying in patong near action I hope...or close. also any tips would be appreciated. ill be doing this trip solo. Im a Chef that needs a vacation badly and some insight from fellow travelers.

The 1st night at Pink Lady Chamois, I paid slightly more than Baht 5,000 for : 1 new bottle of JW Swing, 2-3 cycles for 4 girls at Baht 300 per 45-minute cycle, a plate of fruits, a plate of kani sashimi (imitation crab claws, I think), and 2-3 shots of tequla for some girls.
I didn't foot the bill at Fantasia, but I believe that it's about the same. Also, we've never been into the KTV rooms at Fantasia so I don't know what the charge for the rooms would be like, as the entertainment from the dance shows in the main hall is pretty interesting. There's one singer there, who's just a goddess -- I'd marry her!

GSure september could be a bad month for the weather. Can rain every day for long time but can also be quite well with sunshine. Depends from the monsons. But sure you are in the middle of the raining season.
For mongering, low season (and September is real low)is better than the high, morechicks avaiable and at a cheaper price (can get easy 1000 thb for the all night). Last january and february most of the chicks want at least 1500-2000 bth to arrive to 3000).
At the end you have to see if it's more important for you mongering or golf.
Sorry I can't help 777 but I may be there in September as well. I hope someone will answer your question and comment on the weather in September and October. Does it rain everyday for the whole day or does it rain in short spurts?
Visited Phuket last year in september. It did rain but not all the time. There would be a very large downpour for an hour or two then it could be dry again though not necessarily sunny. Whilst it rained I would have a drink in a bar and chat with the girls and then maybe have some takeaway.

I've searched the threads and have a question. What is "ground zero" in Phuket? I see that Bangla road is the spot. Assuming you are staying 5 minutes away, where would you have the taxi drop you off. What would be your first 2-3 stops after the drop off and are they in close proximity to the drop off point (ground zero). Not looking for the massage places. I found the info on this site. I am interested in the ground zero for the nightlife.

Yes it is a very good price, but by experience of traveling on low prices fare you have to check how many stop the flight will do and how many time do you change plane during the trip and the overall time of flight I had always used air france, departure from Montreal, as they have a great service, little bit more expensive but worthed it direct to BKK except for a plane change in Paris

Bangla Road of Patong Beach is without doubt the ground zero of Phuket. Bangla is only 2 blocks long starting from the beach and heading inland. At night it is closed to vehicle traffic so the taxi would drop you off at either end. Bangla itself is lined with beer bars, however numerous sois (alleys) contain more beer bars, go-go bars, and discos. The bars (some 50-60) all tend to blend together as they are all very similar and 10 people will give you 10 favorites. My favorite bars are Soi Eric Soi Sea Dragon and the Tiger Entertainment bars. The Tiger Disco, above the Tiger bars, is the hottest disco of the 5 discos in-town. The area bounded by one block either side of Bangla probably contains 70-80% of all bars in Patong. Witih the girls changing week-to-week you will make your own "favorites" without any problem. Lady prices are almost universally 1000b short time (1-2 hrs) or 2000b long time (until morning). Don't over spend and watch out for the ladyboys!

Surferr, Yes Bangla road is the ground zero. You can also explore the roads on the right side to bangla road.
When facing the sea, at the cross of Bangla road with the beach road, turn right and follow the beach road, then right again at the next cross, then right again at the next cross, untill you find again Bangla Road. You will find other places during this 15 mn walk. On the last street, before bangla road, you will also pass in front of good fresh sea food restaurants, much cheaper than the ones on the beach road.
Hot lover, concerning girl's quality, it is true that it doesn't exceed 8 on asian standard. I would say that no more than 5 % to 10% of the girls are good looking, depending on season.
I often go back to Phuket, which means that provided you have a "search attitude", and not just seat in a bar waiting for a girl to approach you, you can find cute girls (see my posts in photo section). Price for this 5% to 10% good looking girls is 1000 ST/1500 LT in Bars and Discos (I don't know about GoGo bars). It's cheaper if you take them late in discos or in the street (down to 500/1000). I don't know about the price of the other 90% non good looking girls, I never go with them.
As suggested by another members, girls are starving for customers during low season, so prices can go down to the 500/1000 frontier, but there are also less good looking girls during low season.

Talk about quality of girl in phuket. I search around Bangla road the main activity place. I dont surprise this place is highly commercialize and the girl dare to ask for ridiculously 3000 B per night. Well this might be because some tourist never spend some time to ask around what the market price like. But if i got a choice i wont choose a girl in Patong. I rather take a tuk tuk(250B)the nearest phuket town. The quality of girl is much better there. I wont compare quality of girl in phuket and bangkok because since i am in Phuket and not bangkok, there is no point to do so. The very best thing you can do is to search for the best girl in phuket and not compare here and there. You are there and you got to live with it.
I talk to locals in Patong. No local thais would choose to fuck in Patong. They all suggest me to go to Phuket town.

Also because the limited selection of younger cuter ones are always picked up early and kept longer by a single monger( often for days) then more older/uglier ones left. Another turn off is that even the older ones in Phuket ask higher prices as everything in Phuket cost more.--IMO

I've just screened thru a number of posts and found so fair info but too much rubbish. Hwo ever said Bangal Road is two blocks long was either totally drunk or too dump to post. Soi Bangla is ONE block long! If aq girls was serious about a 3k LT she saw that person as a sucker. As to "locals" going for the girls in Phuket City. Do you mean Farang or Thai. Yeah, there is cheaper stuff in Phuket City but who wants to hang out in Phuket City! Plenty of 1000k ST and still many 1000K LTs The punters report is well into low season and the place is, by the admit of many business owners, flat out quiet. More so than and of the past post/pre 9/11 years. What can I say, I've been in Patong for the last 6 years right after songrkan and a few times per year after that. Right Now, as I just left there 3 days ago, I will admit that lots of ladies have "go home" etc. On any given night you can find many many 9/10's and not just on Soi Bangla.
Phuket has the best beaches and most soft night life. A pleasure to be there. And sorry it will be about 5 weeks before I return. It is quiet no as most of the arse wipe cheap charlies have returned to the shite jobs and crap weather homelands! BTW, 5 more bars on Soi Eric will have changes hands in June with a couple of ofld standby, Chi Chi and Euro changing hands. Seems that there are no buyers so Eric is handing over the keys in a couple places to some long time bartenders who will make a good go sans a farang owner! Good for them!

Just came back from Phuket with a mate. So here's a short FR.
The previous comments about the general quality of the WLs are true. The quality is poor compared to BKK.
We started slow, drinking at the various bars just off Soi Bangla, playing connect-4 and jenga, and just generally noting the somewhat diminished quality of the girls all around us.
After the beer bars, we went to check out the go-gos. The ones in public (ie. Girls dancing on bar tops in plain view off the street) are tame. Girls remain fully clothed (ie. Skimpy top and bottom), and nothing much seems to be happened. Later we went into a couple of the bars which had dark/frosted glass doors and windows. These were better. Topless/nude girls, lesbian play on stage, etc etc. Slightly more aggression from the girls in that they will ask for lady drinks, ask if you want to go upstairs to the room for ST, etc etc. I made it clear to the girl who had decided that she absolutely HAD to sit next to me (or on me on occasion) that I wasn't going to go upstairs, and that I wasn't planning on bringing her back to my hotel (too early at 11pm), but she seemed content to sit next to me, put my hand on her bum/breasts, give me lapdances, shove my face into her chest, etc etc. Total damage for 2 lady drinks, a bunch for me (3-4? ) was around BT900. Left BT200 tucked into my companion's thong. One tip, some of these places may not be 100% honest. Try to settle drinks on a per drink basis so as not to get ripped off by the tab.
Later, we popped over to Tiger, and we ended up having a ball of a time with 2 girls there, drinking, laughing, dancing, etc etc. One was average, one was slightly better. My friend moved in on the average one, so I had to "make do" with "slightly better"!
Eventually decided to call it a night at Tiger and headed back to the hotel in a tuk tuk, girls in tow.
When I ended up alone at my room with my companion for the evening, I ended up having a very good GFE with mine, lots of cuddling, nuzzling, passionate sex, etc. Most definately not a PSE style experience. Went at it for about 90 mins or so, and she wanted to go home about 30mins after completion and the customary post-coital cuddling. Was a little annoyed since I was thinking LT, but to be fair, we hadn't discussed matters prior to leaving Tiger. In fact, there was no discussion as to price, LT, ST, etc etc. We just said lets go, and they said ok.
At the end of the day, I handed her 2000BT (which I told her included her late-night transportation back to Patong). I know it's somewhat higher than the regularly posted prices here, but I figured it was all good since I had a good time, she had to travel back, and so forth. Oh, and that the girls were buying us drinks at Tiger.

Just back from a short weekend break, and I echo the comments posted by Globe Trots.
Bangla Road is the place to be come night time. Even for a Saturday noght the place didn't seem that busy. Just trawl your way along the bars. Started out at the Rock Hard a Go-Go - just the girls trying to dance suggestively and not that forward. Did settle on one girl but she was snapped up by a Chinese guy so decided to move on.
Sharkeys and Jaggers had some nice bargirls. Sat and chatted for a while and watched a few of the ladyboys looking for business in the street - the girls wanted to go but it was still early and I wanted to explore some more.
Ventured further into a couple of the side streets, settled in a bar and a cute girl caught my eye, flashing a smile, so my mind was made up. Bought her and her friend a couple of drinks (150 each and they get 50 of that). Chatted for a while and decided to head home with her.
All in all an excellent night. 2 pops when we got back and another in the morning!!! Damage was 2000 for her, and 500 to the hotel for a non-resident.
Decided on a massage on the morning of departure and was offered full sex there. She wanted 2000, but given that price and the previous evenings fun declined.
Now back in Singapore and can't wait to go back.
Yeahhhh! I just booked my flight. I'll arrive on feb 21st 2008. Its going to be a long winter. The price from Boston was $1305. 00 leaving boston to jfk. Then to seoul. Then onto phuket. Total travel time is 30 hours. But I'm going to be there for 2 weeks so its all good. This will be my first time flying over seas. I was in the Navy and have done the trek by ship 2 times. I'm very excited.

First time back in LoS for many years. Had spent short time in BKK 15 years ago, then time working in Pattaya & Hat Yai, but first time in Phuket.
Checked into Baipho Lifestyle Hotel early evening on a Sat. Found this place after researching the ISG forum & highly recommend it. The ambience of a B&B rather than a hotel, with very friendly staff. Cash on arrival only (no credit cards), but the rates are cheap for what you get (1600 baht for deluxe executive room), including free wi-fi (although can’t access ISG). Bed was the size of an aircraft carrier, with a fully equipped western bathroom. Condoms a regular part of the mini-bar menu! Only negative is that there is no swimming pool, although you can reportedly use the one at the big hotel next door. Great location as well, as it was <5mins walk to Soi Bangla. Also, no “joiner fees”, which could add another 500 baht a night to bill!
DAY 1
Dinner at the Bushranger bar, one of the many bars claiming a “Down Under” connection. However, despite all the paraphernalia such as VB & Carlton bar mats, posters etc, none of them actual serve Australian beers!
Prowled up & down Soi Bangla a few times before starting an adventure down a side street. I prefer to do my shopping from a distance before making my choice, so slowly went up & down the bars before deciding on one in particular in Soi Crocodile. The advantage was being able to watch the passing parade of ladyboys & the associated reactions of the husband & wife couples as they passed by!
Anyway, spent a fair amount of time with one girl who was quite fluent in English (80baht for Heineken for me, 150 for drinks for her – she gets 50). Got to the end of the night, & asked her rates, then she drops the bombshell… that time of the month! On my first night in Phuket! But she does agree that tomorrow should be OK. Easy to remember her name…. Porn!
I gently cut my losses, and move over to Soi Eric to find a replacement. Time was running out for me (1am) so settled pretty quickly. 1500B LT was her opening offer, so didn’t bother arguing (+300 bar fine). Back to the hotel & let myself in through locked front door (no walk of shame if no staff! Also my room was 10 paces from front door). When she stripped off, I immediately thought “What have I done?”, as she had fried egg tits & major stretch marks from her kid. However, she turned out to be a really enthusiastic screw, & gave fantastic BBJCIM (see photo of her in action)
Three pops that night, and another in the morning, before shooing her out the door ~6am so I could get some sleep
DAY 2
Was a Sunday, so watched a dozen different types of sport in bars all afternoon. Set up in Shipwreck Bar on Soi Bangla opposite Soi Crocodile mid evening, just so I could watch the passing parade. Apart from beer & girls, that is my favourite thing to do in pubs… watch the world go by. And what a world it is in Phuket! At 11pm, headed into deepest darkest Crocodile to find Porn again. The side street bars all seem busy at the front, & quiet up the back, but the girls are just the same. If you want less of a fight for attention, try further back. Anyway, after an hour, Porn asks if was taking her tonight. I said yes, but she said she could not go before 2am, as that was her minimum working time (11-2). She let me head off, & I checked out Tiger Disco for a while. Very nearly did not make it back, as some serious stunners still available on the dancefloor!
Back to Porn, and she was relieved as she did not think I was coming back (had not bar fined her before I left). Her opening line was 2000 for LT, which I could have bargained, but couldn’t be bothered (+500 BF).
Back at the hotel, she had a fantastic body, & gave good service, but not quite up to the previous night. Two pops in the evening, then another in the morning. Let her talk for quite a while about her troubles (even tho I was desperate for sleep), and she was very impressed (& told the other girls the next night… “he very sweet guy”). Only sorry that I was so caught up in the moment that I did not get any photos!
DAY 3
Same routine as the previous day. Got up the courage to ask her if it was ok to take her friend (who had grown on my over the previous few nights), & she said ok, as they had been together many times. However, friend asked 2000 for short time, & would not budge. Well, neither would I, so headed off for second choice.
Ended up with the girl from the first night (Miss BBBJ Queen), and despite the saggy body (and I should talk!), she gave fantastic service!
DAY 4
Did a quick overnighter to Phi Phi. Tried the Irish bar, & was astounded at the number of young white girls traveling in packs. The place was packed, but the F/M ratio was ~80/20! Would be a great hunting ground!
DAY 5
Caught up with a colleague who lives in the area. Many beers in many bars, then he & I decided to head separate ways about 12. Back to try Porn, and she said she was ready again. However, she would not leave until 2am. Was prepared to wait it out, but after buying quite a few lady drinks, she kept heading off to entertain other “customers” more & more, I got fed up & left. As I was leaving, she pretty much just said goodbye, instead of putting on the sadness I was expecting. I realize she had worked me over, but it took me a few days to work it out. Anyway, last night in town, & couldn’t waste it. Thought about Miss BBBJ Queen, but decided to try somewhere else. Many bars under the Crocodile, but first one wanted 120baht for a beer, so walked straight away. Tried another one with a spectacular ass dancing on the bar. After 2 girl drinks, she said she could not leave the bar. Was really p*ssed off now, with time running out, so left looking for 3rd choice. Another bar a little further inside, saw a half decent looker, & straight-out asked if she could come to the hotel (no wasting time with drinks & chat). Answer was yes, so made the deal & off into the darkness back to the hotel.
Sex was fine, body was great, but realized the face was a bit of a train wreck the next morning. She also smelt like cabbage. I got a bit of a fright during the early morning when I woke & saw her, & she looked a lot like Porn. In a beer fogged mind I was wondering how she had got into my bed, then I realized it was the bunnyboiler.
Up early the next morning due to flights….. bummer! I wanted to stay another week!
CONCLUSION
Baipho Hotel – highly recommended
Phuket girls vs BKK girls – I have absolutely no complaints about Phuket girls, but do admit there is a higher concentration of 9 or 10/10 girls in BKK
Would I come back – in a hearbeat!

I booked there for my trip coming in Oct. It's looks great. I'm glad to see you liked it. I've been worried since no one else stayed there.
But I'm staying at the new wing, which is a little confusing. I still don't know if I've got it all sorted. They are building an addition to the hotel but apparently not calling it part of the existing Baipho. They're calling it Baithong. But it's the same owners (Rudy) and apparently will look pretty much the same. He assured me I won't regret the new rooms. Booking was through Baipho's website.
If anyone else's stayed there let us know. But so far, so good.

This time only five days in Phuket after a few days working in Bangkok.
Day 1: I have a look around at night in Bangla road and other places. It seems many girls have left since last time in March, and the percentage of pretty girls seems to be lower. Anyway, Phuket Patong Beach has never been a place where you can meet stunners…I was a bit tired so I decided for an early short-time tonight, which excludes my favourite option of going hunting in discos. Walking down the side-street with the boat front in Bangla, my eyes were caught by a girl looking fresher than the others, equipped with what promises to be a firm body. We had some drinks together (Lady drinks are so expensive in Phuket!). The girl had nice manners and looked as pretty from near as from far, so I asked her to go for a ST. She started with the usual “it’s 1500”, but I quickly let her understand I know prices in Phuket, so she agreed for 1000. The girl was really very nice, a bit shy, and her body was as expected. Happy start in Puket, I tipped her 200 extra. I was thinking of taking her LT the next night so I asked her if she likes to dance. She said no, she doesn’t like it. Ok, let’s forget about this idea, I don’t want to spend one night in disco dancing alone.

I was staying at the bahipo at the end of an sailing trip with friends. The captain of the ship organiced the hotel for me. First I was a little worried, because the hotel is on the end of a side street. But whe I checkt in it realy was perfect.
I had a room on the 3rd floor. Nice and clean room, very nice bath. Only the view out of the window was not nice. 2 meter to the next wall. But who wants to look out of the window:.)

I realy can recomend the bahipo. And the owner has also a hotel in BKK, but I heard that this isn't very much recomendet, there must be lots of construction going on. So I never tryed.
But I'm staying at the new wing, which is a little confusing. I still don't know if I've got it all sorted. They are building an addition to the hotel but apparently not calling it part of the existing Baipho. They're calling it Baithong. But it's the same owners (Rudy) and apparently will look pretty much the same. He assured me I won't regret the new rooms. Booking was through Baipho's website.
Baipho is well worth it.
PLUS:
- Great rooms - as good if not better than any international 4-5 star hotel I have stayed in. In fact, probably better as they have a little class & style, rather than being "sterile".
- HUGE bed!
- Three styles of condoms available as part of the minibar.
- Fully aircond.
- Western featured bathroom (a big plus for me).
- Electronic room safe.
- Full cable TV.
- Free wifi.
- No joiner fee (and this can really add up if you are there for more than a few days).
- Friendly staff.
- No walk of shame.
- Variable mood lighting.
- Big comfortable armchair (where I usually like to start the evening's proceedings).
- Free local bottled water.
- Very close to Bangla Rd (<5 mins walk), but located down a quiet side street.
- They can arrange pickup at the airport.
MINUS:
- no view apart from another wall..... but then who wants to look out the window when all the fun is happening inside?
- No swimming pool - altho I am told they can arrange access to the Montana Grand Hotel pool next door.
- Cash only on arrival (no credit cards). Not necessarily a problem, as long as you know in advance
The hotel is really just a 3-4 storey terrace converted into a hotel, but done really well. The building next door is currently under construction, and will become the Baithong (not sure when it will be ready)
Having searched google it seems like there are a ton of tailors (as expected) in Phuket. I typically buy my suits, etc... in Bangkok.
Can anyone recommend a high end tailor in Phuket? I don't mind paying more money for better quality.

I have been remiss in my contributions over the years, but time now permits so I hope to add a few here as well as other locations.
Just spent about a week in Phuket and found a few interesting things to report.
Many say not to visit during the rainy season, but I find just the opposite. Crowds are down, prices are less and more important, the girls seem bored and welcome a little fun. However, it can make the scuba diving tough what with the long boat rides and dangerous exit when the weather kicks up. In any case this was when I could go so off for adventure.
Accomodation: I like the Expat hotel. Not fancy, but it has a pool, no joining fee, friendly, clean, probably 2 or 3 stars but the price is good (about 900 TBH) and it is one block from Bangla.
Prices: AS otherwise documented, 300 BF, 1500 LT. I could have negotiated, but didn't want to in this case. In fact when I left, I gave her another $100. Guess I was in love. Again. I hate when that happens.
First stop after an uneventful day of diving is my favorite pool location at the corner of Soi Sea Dragon. I walk in and a bright young thing, about 18, starts to kick my but in the first game. Meanwhile, a prototypical, jaded bar-girl type is slugging down a Corona like there is no tomorrow. Half way through the game she says I have to buy her a beer if I lose. Trying to keep peace, I say OK and do so when I enevitably lose. Next game, I get close but no cigar (or was she letting me think I could win? Maybe, but she was good at that too, if that were the case). Meanwhile, bar girl has chugged that beer too and is getting a little agressive about another. I see she is getting pretty drunk, and tell her I won't buy another, at which point she slurs "Don't you want to bar fine me? ". Earlier in life, I probably would have gone for it, but wiser now, time to go. I ask the bright young thing if she bar fines or only pool? Only pool, as I thought. Oh well, on into the night.
Soi Sea Dragon is one of my favorites. I don't know why, but I seem to have had good luck there in the past. As I wander around, it being fairly early and the slow season, things are pretty subdued. I make the cirle at the end and come back around and am seeing the usual stuff one sees, except, whoa, wait a minute what is this? As I pass the Buffalo, I see a really nice thing with bright eyes, all of 18. 5 or 19. So that was it. Big smile, almost no English, but soaking it up like a sponge.
She was not the greatest lay I have had, only, but still there was a charm that made her GF for the week. I can't lie, the incrdible firm tist and ass had something to do with it, not to mention a pussy you could barely get a finger in. I can't believe that after all my time in LOS, I have not run into this one!
Sooo. I come back at 11 and find a big party going and she tells me that she wants a night out with the girls to go dancing, but wants to see me tomorrow and that I should not take another girl that night. Sure, ok. I can go for the first part, but the seocnd. I don't know. I thought maybe this was the typcial "Bar-girl" run around, but decided to see the next day. (I did find some company that night, absolute stunner as opposed to cute whih my GF is, but pretty mediocre otherwise.) When I came to the bar she runs up bright ans smiling but when I ask her about the disco night, she gets glum and says she didn't like it. Didn't like the way the men acted and were always after her. So I can only conclude that this was a first time for her to try out the disco thing.- how refreshing when comparde with some of the other harridans one encounters.
Next night, we have a little drama.
The Expat is airconditioned, but it retains the vestigaes of earlier days in ceiling fans.- those nasty 3-bladed types from India. I turns out, one needs to be careful.
We are watching Thai TV, which seems to annoy some people, but I am OK with some of that. Since the King is having his big celebration, there is a bunch of stuff on the royal family and at some point, she becomes very excited because the young Prince (looks to be 2 or 3? ) is being show. She start shouting "Baby King, Baby King" and before I know, almost in slow motion, it seems, she jumps up on her feet on the bed with the buzz-saw fan whipping through the air. NOooooo, I yell and reach to pull her down with the blades, just whipping the top of her hair.
Fellow Mongers, just think of the mess that would have been, both literally and leaglly. Yikes.
Finally, as the day approached when I would leave, she told me several times "I wait for you 1 year, 2 year, 5 year at Buffalo Bar. You come back. " Touching, but as we all know, the newness will wear off, she will become abused and jaded or leave. I hope is the latter, but in any case, it would never be the same and I can't do anything about that.
So, moral of the story, it seems I always learn a few things when I go to Thailand. This time was not different.
Now, off to Bangkok for a stay at the (in)famous Livingstone's Lodge.

MontecristoWell to certain extent it does affect the beach activities. But generally it's still alright. I went to phuket during July this year. During that time the rain usually come at early morning around 6-7 am and 4*5pm, and 8-9 pm. But the good news because its a beach area so the strong wind will blow the cloud away and the rain comes and goes away very fast. Well is you plan to take a boat to island like monkey island, phi phi island, the damage will be more as the sea is rough, and many sex activities will be canceled.

MontecristoNo problem about the sun. Usually, the rain blows through in a few hours, but even if you get a rainy day, the next is usually OK. And you can get a very good sunburn/tan on the cloudiest day. It does not spoil beach activities, only punctuates them. When it starts to rain, go look for a massage, or a beer or other indooor activities.
Of course, you could be unlucky and get a lot of rain, but in Phuket, that would still be great compared to a lot of places.

I will be staying at the Baipho next month. They qoted me a rate of 700 baht for a car to pick me up. Is that typical rate for Phuket?
I know my taxi, from Suvarnabhmi to the Don mueang/Laksi area is about 400 baht, and that's a haul across Bangkok.
Seems like 700 baht is a little steep. Any advice would be appreciated.

No need to book a pickup. You can get a limousine for around 550/600 (I don't remember exactly), and a seat in a van for around 150/180. If you ask for pickup they probably will send a van which is less comfortable than a limousine anyway
The trip from Phuket airport to Patong Beach is approx 40 minutes if you go directly by regular taxi (500-600b) or private driver. My experience with the group van method (150-200b) was not so good as the van stopped midway to Patong at a travel office where they "offered" help in arranging hotels or tours. It was legitimate but added another 20 minutes. Then, I my case, we stopped at many hotels until we reached my hotel, which added another 20 minutes over a regular taxi. I now prefer the extra 300-350b to assure a quick arrival to my hotel (saving 40 minutes), especially when my anxiety factor is high due to waiting days/months to get to Patong. Others may differ, but worth it IMO. The taxi queue is 40m to the right upon exiting the airport. anxiety

Cheers.Yes I use one in Kata called Jaspal. I had 4 suits made there- one zoot suit from a pattern I took and one which was made from cashmere. With most Thai tailors its always best to take a fave suit you want copied with you or lots of pics and make sure you have time for at least 3 sittings. Anyway I can highlt recommend it.

A limousine is better, less expensive, and it takes only a few minutes to buy a coupon at the booth in front of the luggage pick-up room of the airport.Limo is OK, but it depends on the hotel for the car. The Expat has always sent me the same guy, seat belts in the car which some of the airport cars don't have. Strangely, they have the fittings, but sometimes they remove the belts. Expat has always charged me 600.

No problem to get a transportation at 8 pm at the airport, you can go directly to your hotel and enjoy your first mongering night. There are plenty of websites with cheap (and not cheap) accomodation, such as phuket.com. Don't forhget that Phuket town is not a holiday spot

Patong is the place with the larger number of girls. If you go to other beaches the choice will be much more limited. If you don't rent a motorbike, stay near bangla road because tuk tuk are very expensive in Phuket.

If you've got a map you can see that one never had to go thru Phuket town from the airport to Patong. You go on the main highway 402 and either go thru Cherntalay and Kamala beach (4030/4233) or go via Lotus/Central Festival (4020).
And go-go bars are all over the place although usually not all concentrated/one-next-to-the-other like in Patong. You just need to be observant when driving along and find these bars as they are not going to be as raucous as those at Patong.

Also, why don't you consider renting a car? You can get cars as low as THB800/day all in plus gas and you can just about park anywhere in Phuket free. Just grab one of those guys with the sign board of Car Rental companies at the airport exit and he'll drive you to his office across the street and set you up within 10 minutes.
Taxis are exorbitantly priced (if they can be found!), Tuk Tuks as thieves as far as I'm concerned and are basically only found around Patong/parts of Phuket Town and forget about those Moto drivers if you value your life! Heck the ride from the airport to wherever you're first going to is going to cover the cost of a whole day car rental, and of course you can drive around from one hotel to another to decide on where to stay i/o being stuck with one. Phuket has a range of accomodations from the dives to the 5 stars to the apartments and also Luxury houses all available for rent daily/weekly/monthly!

The hotel won't throw you out unless you made some sort of fuss about it. I have to say though, that just because you are in Thailand does not mean that you will be able to have a HJ at the end. There are places that are straight up about it.
In my experience, you would usually be offered this option, but if not you can always ask. The response has varied for me, sometimes no. Usually, if it is availalble, they will offer, but sometimes, the girl is just shy and will do it if asked. Just ask nicely and accept the answer. No problem.

Definitely Pattaya. If you only have a week why spend two days of it in buses and airports.

GoGos are definitely not worth in Phuket, as well as massage parlors. It's more a beer bar and disco place. Compared to Pattaya it is much less affected by the "Benidorm" syndrom and more relaxed, which is the reason I prefer to go to Phuket rather than to Pattaya.

I saw this place very close to the beach in Patong, Phuket. It's a budget hotel close to the action. Now I RTFF..nothing...searched the internet and saw very little and what I saw was contradictory. Very good or very bad. Now I’m not expecting the Ritz it is a budget place but it has AC, a safe and very GF. For 600b a night.

If you're specifically looking for Go Gos, Pattaya is much better than Phuket. Was in Phuket last year, and IMHO it's sort of the reverse. The Phuket beer bars were better than Phuket Go Gos. The advantage of the Phuket beer bars is that they're all open and together, so you can walk through and see a dozen at a time, without having to walk in, get harassed for a drink, etc.

I'll be making my first trip to Phuket in the next few weeks. I've narrowed the hotel choices to these 4: Baan Laimai, Baan Sukothai, Patong Resort Hotel and holiday inn. From the websites, they are all about the same price, holiday inn being the most expensive. Location wise, they all seem to be within walking distance to the entertainment zone, baan sukhothai being the closest. I was wondering from the experienced one's on this forum, which one of these hotels have people had personal experience with. Any comments would be appreciated.

I advise you, if anyone else had not previously provided relevant information on this topic for these hotels, to check if they charge a "joiner fee" (it means you have to pay extra when you bring girls to your room at night). Joiner fees can go up to 1000 THB/night in some hotels. So if you take a girl for the usual price, 1000THB ST / 1500 THB LT, and have to pay an extra 1000 THB for joiner fee, you end up paying double price for pussy.
Some hotels do, some don't. In particular, familly oriented hotels often charge JF. You can send an email or fax to these hotels to ask if they charge a joiner fee and which price. No reason to be ashamed to ask this question in Phuket.
That's the first criteria for choosing an hotel.

Tust reading the forum again the last days. Had been in Patong twice and can give some generall opinion.
Phuket. Pattaya:
The difference is already well described. Pattaya is the Thai centre of mass-mongering and mass tourism. I do not like it that much. It is too much industry-like in any aspect. It is loud and dirty (just because its big and crowded) in the city and on the beaches. Still you can have a nice vacation. But only if you like that kind of "big city".
Phuket as an island is still more Thailand and not just another mass-tourist destination, though it is heading this direction. But you can easily find nice cosy beaches. Patong is the Pattaya of Phuket:.) Depending on the season you can easily find nice girls in the beer bars or freelancers in the two or three discos. Though also Pattaya has developed as a destination for couples and families, Phuket definetly already is the "family island". That means, that there is a very normal tourist scene and. Also and just in another lane. The mongering scene. That means that you can have a mongering vacation in the beer bars. Also very relaxed (apart from the musical noise.), but without big show or special attractions. But you can have a nice time cheating with the girls and finally grab one for the night. But it is more "finding a girl with financial interest" than pure "pussy shopping" (as in Pattaya). And there are massage parlors (I. E. Christines) and gogos which offer short timers. I sometimes think they are specialized for husbands who sent there wife shopping. That's why they are more expensive. But this experience is avoidable.
That means for hotels:
Hotels in Patong:
There are basicly four types of accomodation:
- appartments on an monthly fee rate: for the long stay. The cheapest
- guesthouses/budget: for the still existing backpackers. They normaly choose no joiner fee. But you have to expect young european couples while you have breakfast with your girl. No problem. But can be interesting. (I had been at the beach road inn this March. And may stay some nights in November)
- mongering hotels: partly also guesthouses. There are several (nearly hunderd, I guess.) hotels of different price (20-50 bucks) with nearly only mongers as guests. These hotels are the best for first timers. You have no "stress" with your girl, because almost any other guest is not alone. You can mak friends to monger together or at least get tips where to go (I stayed in the summer breeze in soy san sabaai: absolutely to recommend for american mongerers. Prices are o. K. And offer three roomtypes. Direct at the action)
- family hotels: These are normaly the up-scale hotels that also charge a joinerfee. Some also do not like or even forbid girls. I think this is o. K.. Because there are so many opportunities for mongers that they just "protect" there couples and families. People without experience tend to book these hotels because they make a familiar and "save" impression. My recommendation: If you go to Thailand, relax while booking and planing: Apart from peak season you can find a room while you are there. So just book one ore two nights to know where to go from the airport and check out yourself. Or search a nice accomodation via Internet. Use this forum and the guestbooks of the hotels and even direct contact to check out whether it suits your interests.

I stayed at Holiday Inn before the Tsunami. It was a great place, but it is NOT girl friendly. If you're not planning to bring a friend back it's great.
My friends and me always go to the Patong Resort. Since about 10! Years. Book a double room in internet (atsiam.com, phuketravel or sawadee.com) at the garden wing or Main wing if you like. I prefere the deluxe rooms in the Garden Wing. With a double room you will have no problems. The joiner fee is already paid then. If you want you can change the girl 3 times a day. They only have to give the ID at the entrance. Walking distance to Bangla is 45 seconds!
But please note, that there are families and other guests. Respect them if you you have a girl.

I can chip in a bit here. Stayed in Phuket for a week in November both in 2004 and 2005. There is a place called the Aloha hotel that i found to be quiet and nice. 1500b is regular rates and is about 1/2 mile from the beach. They do post a joiner fee of 5 or 600 baht but i don't like to bring girls back to my room so that is a non-issue. It is away from all of the noise and party animals which is OK at times. Also it is far enough away from any tsunami activity. It wasn't touched by the 2004 one.

spent some fantastic days in patong last week. low season with few tourists, so 10 girls for evey guy. rain every day but i found the perfect place in a roof covered small soi with a few bars. walk bangla rd from the see side to [CodeWord134] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord134) rd and turn left. after about 150 m there is a small soi to the left (opposite side from ayudhya bank). with a 7/11 at the corner. inside the soi (soi sukuhumvit) there are a few bars, but the good thing is that it is covered so rain season is no problem.
i spent several nights there as the atmosphere is very relaxed and less noicy compared to the discos like tiger, banana, etc. black and white bar is good, but my choice is thunder bar. the owner is a slim, light dark skinned lady from surin. one pool table and the owner loves to be challenged (but be careful, she is not a beginner!). lot's of fun and open until early morning or when the last guests leave. girls are on and off, but the cuties are quickly picked up. miss m will f.. till you drop dead! take care and enjoy.
As I read Phunts post I have to add another possibility to stay close to the action while avoiding different types of lisy and loud music. You just have to stand Bob Marley all the night. And have to accept that you get served your beer by stoned thai rasta boys:.)
If that's o. K. For you, the reggea pub (or somewhat similar) is an nice spot to "relax" from window shopping in all the sois. Because of the missing windows I sometimes have to relax from the sois.
Soi Sea Dragon itself is in the middle of bangla road and are actualy two sois. In the middle there is a line of bars and on the sides with the buidlings are some a-go-go's. So you can jump from one bar to another without getting to wet. The bars are nothing special, but in the rainy season now you may get some nice girl anyway.

I was in Patong / Phuket last week, for a few days off at the end of the low season here in Thailand. Business at Livingstone’s will pick up soon – better to relax a bit before things get really busy.
My last visit in Patong was about > 3 years ago. And – Patong has changed. It definitely has changed a lot. I remember wide areas behind the Second Road being fields 3 years ago, now buildings, hotels, shops everywhere. I remember that Thai market opposite the end of Bangla Road to the right – now a shopping center, the market is gone. Soi Sansabai – it was a dead end road, now connecting Second Road with Third Road, guesthouses and shops everywhere, and even behind the third road there are new buildings already, hotels – massive construction activities. All built within the last 6 months, as I was told.
Another major change: Soi Bangla is now closed for traffic (at least in the nights), it is a kind of Pattaya Walking Street in Patong. I expected to see a few people walking there in the nights, it should be low season in Phuket, too – and it was packed. Masses walking there, up and down the road, I had the impression that there were more tourists in Patong right now than I saw during the high season years ago.
The number of hotel rooms have tripled / quadruplet, depending on the locals you are talking to. Everywhere guesthouses, small hotels, and the major hotels, huge complexes close to Third Road. Unbelievable. Shops, bars, restaurants everywhere. And – it is nearly impossible to sit there without being disturbed by those street hawkers, selling souvenirs, maps, watches, all kinds of stuff – I thought we are through with all that, but it came back to this city, much worse than ever.
I had heard before that Patong became expensive in the last year. Nonsense, in my POV. The competition is that hard, the prices and the quality is much lower now than it was years ago. Reasonable hotel rooms are available for THB 800,00 up, reasonable guesthouse rooms for around THB 500,00 (with a/c(!)). We were offered an outstanding single villa within a Thai-style hotel compound, close to an awesome swimming pool area, spacious, huge bathroom with double Jacuzzi, plasma TVs, CD/DVD player, wireless internet, ABF – THB 2,500.00 .
We then checked out the restaurants I knew from years before – and the quality had really gone down the hill. The small Seafood restaurant at the second road, to the left a few hundred meters away from Soi Bangla – fish not fresh. Not well cooked, no taste at all. Not even good farang style cooking. Italian restaurant Roma, located in a side road from the Beach Road (First Road), claims to have an Italian chef – hmm. It was really good years ago, now they really need an – Italian chef, or at least some cooking training from one. Steak House Buffalo in a side road of upper Bangla road – food was ok, but far away from the excellent quality from years ago.
The only restaurant I can still recommend is a small seafood restaurant Chiang Rai Seafood. You find it in the food court area behind the Tiger Disco complex. Try the black crabs (usually called / served as Pepper Crabs) with Yellow Curry – excellent. Oysters fresh. They kept up their quality levels. And it is still dirt-cheap, we had various dishes, 4 oysters, Yellow Curry with the Black Crab, mussels, vegetables, 2 king prawns, drinks (water) – all that for THB 720.00 .
Girls. Many of them. Everywhere.
One hotel owner told me before that Patong only has this small girly bar area in Soi Bangla. That is nonsense, pure. Beer bar areas are everywhere, in the small side roads along Beach Road, even along second road … many Pattaya style beer bars. I have no idea how all of those bars can survive. Most of them have girls working there … but what a quality – my god. Of course – there are so many that you might find some lookers. I did not see many.
Soi Bangla is THE hunting area for freelancers at night now. They walk up and down the road, sometimes approaching men, sometimes standing at the side just trying to establish eye contact. Many of the dressed in super short skirts, dresses or hot pants. No Thai style visible at all.
And ladyboys. I never saw so many of them in my life. There are ladyboy bars, transvestite shows, not only at that well known lady boy corner in the center of Soi Bangla – you find them now basically all over Patong. And there is either demand for them, or the tourists are noy able to identify them – I saw so many men walking with a ladyboy hand in hand, and I tried to imagine the surprised faces of those men when they found out later the truth in the night … :)
The discos – Banana still does ok starting 11:30 pm, quite packed. Quality and dresses of the girls is higher than the average in Patong. A bit of style there. Some lookers. Later the crowd moves to Tiger disco, but I never saw it really full there. The crowd mixes up with those people coming from the beer bars – so it is not as classy as Banana. Very late then Tai Pan fills up, there is a band playing earlier in the night – quite crowded very late. The quality of the ladies – the late night phenomenon, the best picks are done already, and the left-overs are still looking for customers. So the quality is average, at best. I did not check out how long they open there … but it seamed to be quite long.
Gogo bars. I was in two of them. Suzi Wong, somewhere at the end of a side road to the left of Soi Bangla. I saw about 10 girls dancing there, topless. Quality so-so. The special of the bar: Strips of foam plastic material, that kind of isolation material used for a/c pipe installations. Customers beat girls with that strips, girls beat the customers. Is that expected to be funny? And it is not the kind of soft beating – the girls really hammer the customers … I was out there after 10 min.
Rock-Hard a GoGo – now only at the upper level, the lower level is a open bar now. May be 20 – 30 girls dancing in bikinis, unmotivated … boring. Quality low, in my POV.
The Beach Road – and yes, street walkers there at the Beach Road late at night. I do not remember whether that existed years ago already, but there was a considerable number of girls walking / sitting there close to the beach waiting for customers. I walked 20 meters through the zombie show, turned around and saved my life.
Patong, always a target of mass tourism, always tried to keep the girly bar areas limited and develop itself to a tourist destination for families. I saw some families – but not too many. There were more group travellers, mostly Australians, younger couples – and single travelling men. I don’t see that the city developers took their chance after the Tsunami reconstruction to come closer to their targets of attracting families – the bar areas are spread all over the city, and mongerism has increased massively. A second Pattaya is developing – in my POV. Decreasing room rates, a huge quantity of available accommodation, and loss of quality in the food / restaurant business – all that indicates this development. Whoever likes Pattaya – go to Patong. It is a bit smaller than Pattaya – and has all the features already: The Walking Street “Soi Bangla”, the Beach Road, beer bars en masse, GoGo bars … streetwalkers and ladyboys. Everything you know from Pattaya.
For those who fall in love with one of those girls and consider to start up a business for her there: Be careful! Be very very careful! I spoke to some business owners, the competition is huge, and the winners are basically the land owners, renting properties to farang for huge leases. For a standard shop house with a business area for a shop or restaurant on the base level and 3 or 4 more levels for offices / rooms etc. the asked yearly lease is in the range of THB 1 to 3 Mio. (depending on the location, how close to the beach etc. ), for a relatively small business operation size. Many guesthouses are built into this shop houses, and the struggle to survive. During the high season the room rates are considerably higher, but the problem is to survive the 6 months low season. One business owner told me that the room rates are starting to fall already end of January, normally high season, but some guest houses are then already not completely booked any more. The huge numbers of those guesthouses tear down the room rates of the major hotels either. There are many guesthouses for sale, from farang, who have invested a lot money in there and trying to get at least a part of it back. Furthermore there are many infrastructural problems in Patong, instable electricity- and water supply etc. etc. . Sometimes one side of a road is ok, and the other side has really problems.
For me this was most likely my last visit in Patong. I don’t like it any more, there are much nicer places in Thailand.

Willing to stay also a few days in big resort like, blue canyon lodge ,mission hills resort or laguna resort hotels ,which they all have spa-massage , i would like to know if is possible to get a HJ during the massage session in those hotels with a good tip.

I have played at Blue Canyon and Mission Hills before, but never stayed there. Mission Hills is so-so as a golf course and if you are going at this time, you may wish to know that it's the rainy season and a total washout for golf.
Just 3 weeks ago, I was just about to leave my hotel to play at Blue Canyon, we had actually woken up to sunny skies, when it suddenly started to pour ... really pour! We checked with the hotel and was told that it would continue the entire day, and we also confirmed this by calling Blue Canyon. So, decided to head straight for the airport back to Bangkok, and played there on arrival instead!
Mission Hills is a gorgeous establishment -- oozes pure luxury, and the female staff are all at least 8/10 in looks ... I felt like marrying all of them! On another rainy season trip, the course condition was very bad due to the continuous rain, and the manager apologized and expressed that he was hapless to do anything about it.
I have stayed at the Sheraton Laguna and Dusit Laguna before, and can tell you that they are all very, very good. Did not try the spas, but imho HJ is not a problem. I don't think it's kosher to expect HJs at massage spas located at the golf clubs,though.
As for having a trio or foursome MASSAGE ONLY with wife/gf, never tried it in Phuket, but I did try it in Bangkok at the Novotel Lotus. Called the in-house spa and asked for room massage, explained to them that I was with my gf and required 2 masseusse. Not a problem at all -- I even asked that they stimulate my gf by playing with her, but her masseusse refrained from direct stimulation, and it was limited to just gentle strokes around the groin area (my gf told me this after the session). We were both naked, occupying the twin beds in our hotel room, and my masseuse was giving me a HJ. We asked them to leave at the end so that my gf and I could get it on.
So, I think that you should have no problem asking for a 2-some in-room massage, if you explain that it's with your wife/gf -- somehow, they kinda 'understand' the wife/gf scene for simultaneous massage. Who knows, you may establish some new record, and I would love to hear about it.

I would definitely give this place a 2 thumbs up. It's right off the main road in Patong & a few minute walk to Bangla Road. The rooms were very impressive for the price we paid (700 baht for your own room with air-con & private bathroom with hot water & mini-bar with the same prices they have at 7-11, also there's free internet in the "lobby". This was low season pricing, but definitely worth it & easily worth more. I actually told the owner I was suprised he was charging as little as he was). The beds were actual king beds with legitimate pillows & pillowtop mattresses. The hotel has 4 floors. And one of them is dorm-style set-up. There's a restaurant that's got some decent thai food. The hotel has 24-hour secure access & is girl-friendly (no joiner fees) and it's got an in-room safe if you'e not sure you trust your girl (from what I hear, sometimes you can get robbed after you fall asleep). I got a Superior Mini-Suite & the room is exactly as shown in the pictures. The map on the website is slightly misleading though in terms of ratios. The hotel is right near Christin Massage & about 2 blocks to Bangla road. I had some suits made when I was there & they offered hotel pickup. They had a little troubles finding the hotel. Which is probably because it was right off the main road & it's a small boutique hotel, but if you ever have to give a taxi driver directions, tell them to take you Water World near Christin Massage & it'll be easier to find.
My friend, who lives in Trang, comes to Phuket about once every few months for weekend partying. He said he'd definitely stay there as it's much better than the other places he's been staying.
They offer free pick-up for 4+ night stays in a private car. Which was pretty good. The rate to go back was 500 baht if you organized it through the hotel. I asked around a couple of taxis & they all told me 600-800 baht to return to the airport. Of course, I could have been getting ripped off because I was a foreigner.
Christin Massage is diagonally across the street from the hotel. However, like others here, I wouldn't recommend wasting the money there. There's a lot more 'tang to be had on Bangla road at a much more reasonable price. We drank a lot & usually ended up going out around 10PM & making it home by about 4AM and sleeping the day away. But it was not a problem to pick up a girl & have her overnight for about 1000 baht.
Besides this place, any others? Just got back from first trip to Patong. Pretty much anywhere you go, girls will yell out "Hellooooo, Massaaagge? " at you. At all of those places you can get a semi-decent oil massage & an HJ for about 600-700 baht. Pay 1000 baht & you can often get it topless. If you're looking to do the boom-boom, forget about the massage places & just pickup a girl for the night. You don't need to negotiate prices at non-barfine places prior to leaving (and trust me, there are plenty of girls available in Patong). Paying 1000 baht the next morning is about all you need to spend. Christins, from what I heard, is about 2500 baht?
If you have time in BKK, head to Annie's (see the BKK forum for reviews). I had a great time there with a hot girl (though note, the pickings can be slim. It was my first time there & I got a girl who I thought was attractive, but there were a lot of old & busted girls). The price was only 1500 baht. I had an early AM flight back out of BKK. So I went there the night before & had a good time & got a free shower before heading back to the airport late night to sleep for a few hours before my flight out!

ThanksKaron is certainly nothing like Patong for women as its quite a quiet family orientated resort. Although there are still plenty of bars with bar girls- just simply not as many and quieter. its only about 10-15mins in a tuk tuk to Patong though.

I see all the reports of hotels that charge joiner fees and such. I was in Patong in April starting on Thai new year (the big water fight). I stayed at the Salathai Hotel. It is a nice small hotel just a short walk from the Bangala circus. There are no joiner fees. The rates are reasonable and they treated me and my catch of the day like family. The one night I didn't bring one back (don't ask) the reception asked me why I was alone! There is a good Ausi run bar just down the street with no girls if you need a break run by some great Austies. The rooms are nice with a safe big enough for your laptop and a nice pool. I will stay there again!

i flew thai asia air to phuket. it’s a small discount airline but for 87$ round trip i can’t complain. i got there and back on time, just that the weight maximum is 15 kilo for luggage. not much, i was at 16 kilo but she let me slide (must be the eyebrows thing lol).
got to my resort in kata (way south of the island, 10 min south of patong) and after checking in to this really good resort (serena resort): 2 pools, great big rooms, very helpful staff, free breakfast, 1 free diner and 5 min from the beach, that i got on the internet for 1060b/night for 10 nights. i went for a well deserved legit oil massage.
now i did the cardinal sin of mongering and fell head over heals for my massage therapist. she is just a gorgeous stunner with top notch massage skills. i think it clicked with her too because when i arrived at the massage place the lady at the reception was insisting that there was "only massage no special massage ok? " but after the flip this girl started to kiss me on the lips and gave me her number to call her tonight because she could not do anything "special" here.
now i know what you are thinking. what a sucker fell for it like the newbie he is. ok i am a newbie but i had this forum to guide me so i was not falling for it at the time. she was, as i said, a real stunner so i called her up at 7pm like previously discussed and she was so happy that i called. we went to diner and then back to my room for some mind blowing sex. next day, since we did not discuss money, i asked her if 1500b was ok for the night (it was a good night). she looked at me with these sad and disappointed eyes. "no money, me no bar lady, i stay with you no money for all time in kata. ok? ". what. heeeuuuu. . what. what is the catch. i told her ok but what about her job? she told me it was low season and her boss would not mind since not enough customers. her boss would take all her customers and make more money so no problem.
so 10 days of sex and scuba diving was to follow. now, it was not 100% free, i paid for her meals, bought her some clothes and gifts but all and all it came to about 5000b for the 10 days specifically spent on her. not bad i think.
i went to bangla road in patong 1 time only. apart from the being careful not take one of the ladyboys home, not much to say about mongering in phuket. sorry
tips for newbie’s:
1-transportation is really expensive in phuket. if you are there for mongering it is worth to pay 100b a night for a hotel near the action. it will be less expensive in the long run that way.
2-kata is a much better beach then patong. clean and the water is beautiful.
3-go to "mom tri" restaurant in kata. a bit on the expensive side but great food, exceptional service and the beach view from your dining table is too die for. i brought my girl there and a- she did not know this place existed b-she was so happy to go there and afterwards she showed me how much when we got back to the room.
4-if your plans are to come to thailand to do the mongering thing only than save you money and go to pattaya or stay on bangkok but if you want a beautiful beach, clean water, good looking babes and you are not on a tight budget. then phuket is you place.
i am off to pattaya, solo, my girls was great, she came with me to the airport to say goodbye and there was some tears. i tried to give her money but she flatly refused it and said that she wanted to be with me, that i was a good man with a good heart (i treated her like i would my girlfriend at home) and she hoped i would e-mail her and come back to see her soon. i insisted that she take the 3000b and explained to her that this money was not because she slept with me but for lost wages only (what can i say i am a good guy). then she said "ok take money but no sex money". what can i say i love this place.

Its amazing what discount you can get for staying in a Hotel for a long period in low season. I believe this one would be significantly higher if just 1 night, and way higher in the high season.
Watch out for others mongers trying to find your girl. Every one will think they can get a freebie.

I was in Phuket from Nov 2 thru Nov 5. I stayed at Lawan residence. This small hotel is owned by a gentleman known as Gary from Las Vegas. He has done a lot to this hotel in the last three months. He is a very nice guy and goes out of his way to help you. It probably helps that we speak the same language and carry passports issued by the same country. The hotel is very convenient to Soi bangla, the main entertainment district here at Patong Beach area. There is no joiner fees and the hotel is very girl friendly. Now here are my other comments about Phuket in general.
I was disappointed by the quality of girls of available at Phuket. I would rate these girls in the 3 to 5 category. Bangkok has much better selection. They all wanted THB 1000 for short time but would not come below 700. This amount is ok and is mentioned here for information only.
I went to Cristine for a traditional thai massage. By the way, Cristine also has a soapy massage for which they are very well known at Phuket but which was very expensive at THB 2500. Back to the Traditional Thai Massage. It was THB 500 for two hours which is an ok price. But the quality of the massage was in no way any better than what your girlfriend can provide you at home. Normally the traditional thai massage is done to massage the various pressure points in the body and stretch various muscles for a completely refreshing experience. I also heard two other people in the neighboring small areas who knew each other and had the same complaints which they were discussing among themselves in English. So avoid this place.
One thing that you do not want to miss is the show put up by the ladyboys at the intersection of Soi Bangla and Soi Crocodile. I am not fond of ladyboys, yet I enjoyed their swaying of the hips and making funny gestures at the audience. There was always a crowd gathered there to watch these characters. Also, there were two very friendly locals who had actual live crocodiles (small ones) that you could touch and feel and have your picture taken for a small donation. I was surprised to see quite a few couples strolling at Soi Bangla and taking in the views. Tiger Disco was not very crowded on a Saturday evening at 11 pm. The entry fees is THB 240 which seemed like a wasted donation. The FBI club was also deserted. By the way, if you get a chance, buy some boiled peanuts from a street vendor for 10 THB. They tasted very good. Also, do not miss going to the beach and watch these small plastic bags being heated up by a wax like substance and float upwards towards the sky. They had a carnival happening there and there were literally thousands of these “hot air balloons” floating in the sky on Saturday night.
I had a wonderful experience at a traditional thai massage place about two blocks away from my hotel. They were offering a traditional massage for THB 180 for one hour. A very beautiful girl from this place approached me and was very insistent so I decided to take her up on it. It turned out that she was very new to Phuket. She took me upstairs and within 5 minutes of starting the massage, I knew that she did not know how to do any real massage. I then tried to get her to switch to other things which she very quickly agreed to without speaking any words. I had her bra and top removed in no time and as soon as I touched her boobs, she really became excited and started to French kiss me like I have never been before. I was enjoying it and it was beyond my wildest imagination. To make a long story short, she ended up giving me an excellent BBBJ and then finished off the hour massage. I gave her THB 500 tip in addition to the regular price of the massage.
If you are missing and craving American style food, go to Jung Ceylon, a shopping center within a block of Soi Bangla and you will not be disappointed. There is Starbucks, Burger King and at least three more American name restaurants.

Rule number one: rent a motorbike or stay near Bangla Road in Patong Beach. Tuk Tuk and similar transportation are very expensive in Phuket. You will pay 100 THB in Phuket for a Tuk Tuk ride which would cost you 40 THB in an aircon cab in Bangkok.
The heart of mongering life in Phuket holiday spots is Patong Beach, and the heart of nightlife in Patong Beach is Bangla Road. Girls are also available in Karon Beach or Kata Beach but the choice will be very limited. If you stay there you will have to spend around 150 THB one way to go enjoy nightlife in Patong. If you stay in Patong Beach but far from Bangla road, the price/quality ratio of accommodation will be much better but you will bear relatively high transportation cost, unless you rent a motorbike.
Which hotel?
Rule number two: if you don’t know for sure the hotel you booked doesn’t charge you extra when you bring girls to your room, don’t pay your hotel in advance. What they call “joiner fee” can be up to 1000 THB per night! In case of doubt, you can fax or email to ask if they charge a joiner fee before booking (no reason to be shy about asking). In general, cheap hotels and guesthouses don’t charge joiner fees, and more expensive hotels targeting families may do. Avoid, for example, Patong Bay Garden resort (joiner fee: 1000 THB).
Girls. How are they? What can you expect? How much?
Girls in Phuket are usually only moderately beautiful. You will not meet stunners in Phuket and about only 10 to 20% of the girls are of acceptable quality. The quality level will not exceed 7 by asian standards. The good side is that they often behave in a more relaxed way in Phuket than in Bangkok. Girls come from other parts of Thailand and don’t stay with their family, so they may be ready to spend time with you if they like you. Another good side is that the customer to girl rate is about one customer to ten girls, so prices remain rather low.

For Bars and Discos (excluding GoGos),the standard rate for the 10 to 20% pretty enough girls is 1000 THB short time and 1500 THB long time (plus 200 to 300 THB Bar fine if you take them from a Bar). If you are short of money, you can get them cheaper, but you will have more limited choice. It’s easy to get cheaper price late at night, or during off-peak season. Girls will first ask you if it is the first time you stay to Phuket. If you answer YES, the rate will be 1500 ST/2000 LT. If they think you are a sucker, it will be something like 2000 ST/3000 LT.
Rule number three: NEVER SAY IT’S THE FIRST TIME YOU STAY IN PHUKET! Answer: “it’s the third time I come here” or “I’ve been there last year with my Italian friends”. Never let them know you are a newbie in Phuket or in Thailand. Maybe they will find out later that you were lying, but who cares? Anyway, never ask them how much they want! Tell them how much you pay them if they ask you. Of course, as ever in Thailand: be nice, kind, polite, respectful, don’t get angry and you will be rewarded. But if you feel the girl is trying to take advantage of you, just switch to another one.
If you get them early at night, some of them may stick to ST, because they hope to get an extra LT later with someone else. Sometimes they even say yes for LT and then ask one friend to phone them and say “Oh my friend called me, there is a problem! I cannot stay with you more time. I have to go!”.
If you take them late at night in discos or in the street (or at low season), prices can easily go down to 500 ST/1000 LT.
The attitude may vary greatly depending on the girls. Some are very kind and care-taking and others only see you as a sucker for money, so…
Rule number four: if the girl is too pushy for money or for time (i.e. “let’s go now to you hotel, not later!”), run away! You will find a better girl somewhere else, there are plenty of them.
Bars
There are numerous bars in Bangla road and in the roads at both ends of Bangla road on the right side when facing the see. It’s useless recommending a specific bar as girls and even owners may change several times a year. Barfine may vary between 200 and 400 THB. Lady drinks can be rather expensive, around 120 THB, so be careful or you may end up spending more for drinks than for the girl. Bars right on Bangla road tend to be much more crowded than the ones on the side alleys, so…
Rule number five: avoid the most crowded bars right on Bangla road. If you go to these bars the more beautiful girls will be already busy with other customers, and you will also increase the probability to get overpriced. Go down the alleys on the side of Bangla Road, girls are not uglier and will be very happy to meet you!
There is also a bar complex in Rat-U-Thit…Rd, it’s not very crowded but very convenient on rainy days because it is indoor.
Discos
There are three main discos in Patong within easy reach. As a general rule, beautiful girls don’t show up before 12pm/1am in these places. You can meet there different types of girls: regular freelancers, occasional freelancers, girls who have finished their work in Bars and got no customers to take them, and girls who have already finished with an early short time customer and are looking for second customer. The rate of Thai girls not going there to find a customer is around 1%. The standard price is the same as in Bars (1000 ST/1500 LT) but you don’t need to pay a barfine, and it’s easier to negotiate prices down when it gets late. Some girls don’t even ask you how much you will give them and apparently just take what you give them.
Taipan (nearly in front of Bangla road)
Taipan is famous for the launch of free FBI and CIA T-Shirts, and has a band playing at the beginning of the night until around 12. It is the best place to start the night if you want a quiet start. Admission is free and no girl will bother you asking you to buy her a ladydrink. Girls who come there early are older and/or not beautiful as they hope to catch a man before the more pretty girls arrive. From 12pm/1am it becomes more crowded, hot and full of cigarette smoke so I usually switch to Tiger Disco
Tiger Disco (Bangla road) is the largest disco and only gets busy from 1am. It is more dance-oriented than the other places and can be very crazy sometimes. Entry fee (for farang only) include two drinks, at a cheaper price than if you buy drinks at the bars inside (strange, isnt’it?). As the disco is big with a high roof, it tends to be less hot and smoked than the other two.
Banana Disco is a small disco on the Beach road left of Bangla road. It seems to be somehow less mongering oriented than the other two discos. Various types of girls: girls who come there for fun with their friends, girls who come to sell their body, and girls pretending they don’t come there to sell their body so that they can get more money from naive customers. Entry fee includes two drinks and it only gets crowded from 12am/1pm as the other discos. As the disco is small it gets then very hot and full of smoke. I tend to go to this place when I’m very thirsty and I drink quickly my two beers before going to another place.
Seduction. It’s a rather new one. I avoided it last season because I thought it was a ladyboy place and heard recently that it was not. It should not be overcrowded but it may change with the new season.
Gogo Bars
There are a few GoGo bars in Bangla. Price for girls should be more expensive. Nothing very interesting: no funny shows as in Bangkok Patong, and no beautiful girls compeared to places such as Mandarin in Bangkok. They attract you with cheap drink prices, and then ask tip for show, for the girl who talked with you during 5 minutes, etc…I would rather avoid these places.
Massage Parlor (Christine’s)
Avoid this place unless your wife is staying with you in hotel or if you are in a hurry (service can be quick as I experienced!). Only the most expensive category of girls is acceptable. At 2500 THB, you get the same girls you get for 1800 THB in Bangkok, but not the same service.
Rule number six: don’t go there!
In the streets (Bangla road and around)
Most of them are ladyboys, so be careful! It can be very good late at night when the girls who don’t have customers are eating soup after disco and you can get them very cheap. But be careful, at that time you will be presumably drunk and may not be able to distinguish girls from ladyboys!
Food and expresso coffee:
Expresso Coffee: If you need (like me) good strong and dark expresso coffee in order to be able to survive, there’s nothing better than Starbucks. You will find one at the shopping mall in the same street as Taipan (turn right when coming from Bangla Road), and one on the Beach Road on the left of Bangla Road but about 5/10 mn walk.
Sandwich: BeachWay in front of Savoy. Better than Subway next door, but more limited choice.
Cheap (but good)Thai food: there is a small alley with food stalls in Bangla Road, left when facing the sea. It’s not easy to find because it is hidden between shops. A tasty dish of rice with some meat or fish will cost you 40 THB. This is traditional Thai food, home made style. Try also the food in the streets: chicken leg for 20/30 THB, fish for 30/50 THB, and sticky rice for 5 THB. If you have a good stomach, try the green papaya salad. Be careful with the meat skewers sold late at night, meat may be rotten!
And of course, nothing’s better after disco than a good soup, for not more than 40 THB. There are plenty of street restaurants in the street of Taipan (Rat-U-Thit…), walking left from Bangla Road.
Expensive (but good) Thai Food: Papaya on the beach road left of Bangla road.
Fresh (not too expensive) Seafood: Go to the street of Taipan, left of Bangla Road and walk 5 mn (Rat-U-Thit..). You will see plenty of seafood restaurants (don’t go to the first row of seafood restaurants in the alley very near to Bangla road, wait for the next series of large terraces after the next Bar complex for rainy days). You can choose your seafood and prices will be about 2/3 of the prices charged by the restaurants located on the Beach Road. Make sure they really understand the way you want your seafood cooked (don’t trust their nodding heads)!

Yes the set up is about what you had described as it was an old movie house before being turned to what it is now - except that the bull pen is off to your left and not the right.
The couches in front of the stage is for guys who wants to watch the shows, to party with friends - and the gals that they had previously chosen from the bull pen - and/or after the deed to sit around. There are also private rooms (with different, quite high minimum charges) where the Mommies will bring a line up to (but also sourced originally from the bull pen).
If you're so easily intimidated, why don't you just go up to bar stools in the area next to the bull pen, sit yourself down and very soon a waiter will come and take your order for drinks. Then a captain and/or a mommy will come up to you - and you just idle chit chat with them, perhaps commenting on what you see in the bull pen. RECONFIRM with her the various charges for the gals - and let me tell you, it does go up and down depending on how much a sucker they size you up as being! And if they quote you some ridiculous price (they will!!) you just laugh and tell them that the last time it was only 1,800 - what - you got all virgins now? Or some such inoffensive and humourous - but nonetheless setting YOUR parameters - retort. And please note, the charges INCLUDES the hotel room the gal will trot you off to next door. Just got back from Patong. I stayed at the Lawan Residence. It is a nice place. It has a separate side entrance to the rooms. It is very guest friendly. The owner will even offer suggestions. Close to Bangla.
I have choosen the Patong Beach Hotel for my next trip in April. Is this Hotel guest friendly - A other Hotel on my list is the Ban Thai. Which one is better?

Back from 3 weeks in Phuket Patong Beach. Not much change to my Phuket FAQ (Post # 1399)
This was a transition phase from off-peak season to peak season. Most off-peak season girls were still there and the prettier peak season girls were only arriving progressively. I understand previous reports from members who have been horrified by the current quality of girls during low season.
The worst is in Taipan were the concentration of older girls is higher, because male customers tend to be older than in the other discos. So they probably have more chance there. In Tiger disco, it’s a bit better but not too much. It’s nearly impossible to find a pretty girl under 26. Some of them have been stunners six or seven years ago! It took me 3 hours the first night to find a cute 21 years old with firm tits and tiny pussy in Tiger disco. Best choice is early, before other men arrive, or after 2 pm as more girls arrive. Supply is abundant and most of them will go for 1000 THB LT. A few new girls arrive each week so it may become better in the next weeks.
Overall, it’s not much better in the bars, but if you screen them carefully, you can find a few hidden real gems here and there (I found them!). They go for the standard price (1000 ST/ 1500 LT), but you have to pay bar fine, lady drinks, etc…so it tends to add on exponentially if you are not careful enough!

I have been to Phuket 3 times now and every time I have been disappointed. I just spent 2 nights in Patong before coming up to Lhao Lak for Christmas and I have to say nothing has changed in Phuket: Very poor quality girls, poor service and way overpriced. As Phuket is not even that pleaseant an island to stay I really cannot recomend it either as a holiday or as a whoring destination. Finally on the second night after a lot of searching I settled for 3 girls that I met on Bangla Road, 1, 000 baht each with only very perfunctory service. Nice having 3 girls at the same time but really nothing special in terms of service. Loads of complaing when I didn't tip them at the end. Summary: Read the posts on this thread and the general consensus is that the quality is poor in Phuket, I would agree with this.

Karon:
Good food (Thai as well as Western), cozy beach, green hills and lush jungle.
A nitelife that is less spectacular than Paton, and definitely different from Pattaya.
But girls as many as you can make, and pretty and willing to join you during your stay.
A good bar scene, and so close to Phuket that you can rent a taxi easily to frequent the shows and go home afterwards, easily.
Send me a PM next time, and i will introduce you to my friends who run a couple of pubs and pool billiard bars in Karon - and 100% fun is guaranteed....

It's about time some good things are said about Phuket on this forum again. I lived there for almost all of 2006, and have made 10 trips over 4 years total from the US and I always have a blast. The last time I went (Nov-Dec '07), I took a newbie buddy of mine and we had the absolute time of our lives. There really is something for everyone there and the P4P is great. I'll continue to stay there 4 months a year (or more if I can) for the rest of my life. The one thing that Phuket is missing is the BKK Ratchada style soapies (Christin sucks), but I've met a lot of great people in Phuket, have many expat friends there, and always look forward to returning there while I slave away here in the US. I have found the go-go and beer bar girls to be typically less expensive than BKK, while Pattaya girls are easily the cheapest. For anyone pondering a visit to Phuket, I encourage you to give it a go. You won't be disappointed. Attached is a pic of some absolutely perfect bodies.

If you're looking for a go-go on Bangla Rd, I really like Dragon Disco in Soi Easy. It's pricey as far as drinks, but fantastic girls, plus, a new area has been built in the front where they have "Supermodel" shows. These girls are quite stunning, and sometimes walk out into the crowd to pull an unsuspecting audient onto the stage to be part of a show. It happened to me and a good buddy of mine and we had a helluva laugh. Just don't let them go to far if public frolicking isn't your thing. It's not my thing, and I had to stop them from pulling my pants down, but I was dying laughing anyway. They also do a bit where you sit in a circle with other punters and eat pineapple off of their nude bodies. That seemed to go over well with the Japanese and Korean dudes. The "regular" go-go girls in the back part of the club are far from regular as well. Lots of top quality there too, and there is a short time room on the premises, which I've never taken advantage of. I prefer take-out to my own room. Some of the supermodel girls cruise around the go-go offering tequila shooters to be licked off of them, which I enjoy, but careful not to get suckered into buying too many. The bill adds up quick. There are even a few really cute service girls who are always a lot of fun to chat and flirt with.

Lamai has got plenty of lady bars - I'd say 2-3 dozen bars, as well as at least a couple of massage places where FS can also be found. Chaweng has far fewer lady bars, but a couple of decent Go Gos, and at least 3-4 massage places where FS can be gotten. The rest of Samui has very little action. As a single male, unless I already had my companion with me, I would only stay in Lamai - it's by far the best mongering venue in Samui. Personally, I would choose Samui/Lamai over Phuket/Patong. But that's just me. A single male won't have trouble finding companions in either place, nor will you have any problem either way in finding the fun things to do that any beautiful tropical island offers.

Well..... since you are a first time poster, first timer to Thailand AND a Grandpa,I ain't gonna be disrespectful and give your respectful answers:
1. ISG also has a Samui thread - from which you could get a whole bunch of info. Phuket is on the other side of Thailand
2. Please Read That Forum First - you will be able to glean some very good info and will allow you to ask the correct questions/those which you have not gotten answers from reading/been previously covered.
3.Chaweng Beach is where you should be headed for. Most of the massage places there should offer you FS. But to be 100% sure - all you need to do is ask and ask directly. No shame or problems doing so.
4. Same thing with pricing - ask, perhaps even bargain - do NOT do anything before you agree on the price (since I don't have any idea which place/standard you would be going to)

As for the massage places, I don't remember the names, and they change all the time anyways. The simple way is, when you walk past them, and a cutie who's looks you fancy says to you:
"Hello-welcome, you want massage?" Then you should simply ask - does she do special massage with boom boom? and how much?
For a Full service massage with boom boom, the price should be in the 1200-1500 baht range. If business is slow, you might get it for a bit less.

Just got back from a week on Patong. That place is expensive! We stayed at a guesthouse near Bangla Road near Paradise Hotel called Paradise Inn. 1200 a night. We looked everywhere and that's the cheapest we found. Anyway, on to the important stuff:
Soi Tiger
This is the most expensive soi in town. Expect to pay 120 baht for a beer, and 200 baht for a ladydrink. The girls here are generally better looking, but you're going to pay up the ass for them. Barfines are 300 baht, and the girls are 2000 baht ST and 3000 baht LT. For those prices I could fuck a showgirl in Pattaya. I strolled down there at 4am and offered this cutie 2000 for LT and she refused. I must have offered 5 girls the same --- all of them said no.
Soi Gonza
Okay looking girls, but expect to pay 2000 for LT and 1500 for ST. Again, more expensive that your average Pattaya beer bar. This is negotiable. I pulled this pretty thing from a bar for 1500 LT, but she was high as a kite when I got her back to the room and finally just told her to leave.
Bangla Road
Lots of streetwalkers about here. Expect to pay 1000 for ST and 2000 for LT. Again, I offered a girl 1500 for LT and she refused. Oh well.

There are some good looking girls here but they all wanted 2000-3000 baht. Fuck that.
I doubt I'll ever come back here. The girls just aren't as pretty as the ones in Pattaya and they're much more expensive. This has become such a dirty greedy town. Spend your money elsewhere.

I don't understand how you got stuck with these outrageous prices. It doesn't fit with my experience from spending at least 40 days every year in Patong Beach. Always plenty of opportunities for 1000 ST/1500 LT, sometimes less (last time one month ago, and next time in about one month's time).

Bro, you need to 1st take down the "Phuket newbie signboard" from your shirt or sumthin!!! From your readings in ISG_Phuket, I am sure you know where are the best places to get FL's etc.
Soi Tiger is probably on the high side in term of prices but your timing needs to be right. 12pm to 2am is probably the best time to get chicks at reasonable rates (anywhere on Bangla Rd/Patong) for LT.
Also I suggest you name your price to the girls and not ask them how much...and dude the negotiations would be smoother if you sat down at the bar, had a beer and talked to the girl you are interested 1st (maybe buy her a drink as well).
Warm her up with some empty talk then pop the "pu ying pai hotel"...(smile disarmingly!! :)) "1000bht ... pai" (smile but now very firm...), then if she says "mai ow" smile, finish your drink, say bye-bye, and walk away. Too many other birds to catch in Patong dude...and I promise you this definitely works...the girls will pull you back to the bar or say ok as you walk away.
Other cheaper locations are most of the soi's around Soi Tiger. If you go earlier, say 6pm ish, you have a beer and negotiate ST with the fresh pussy, 500Bht-normal to 1000bht- only if she is a stunner.
Tiger Disco is the place to be after 2am dude. But you have to be fast and specific to the point for the girls in there to bite. 1000bht to the maximum 1500bht is all is required for an LT there.
Street walkers at 4am are normally not advisable dude. We would probably be a bit under the influence by then, and these so called girls (probably ka toey) would probably be evaluating you for how much money they can rob you off...so better be very careful picking the 4am stuff bro.
All in I am a Phuket fan as compared to Pattaya and would vote Phuket anytime bro.

One difference between Phuket and Pattaya is the higher share of « regular » tourist in Phuket. They go there for holiday (i.e. diving) and enjoy mongering as an additional benefit of being in Phuket. As they have no idea of the current prices, I am not astonished that they may pay the high prices quoted by Durianfan in his post.
It already happened to me to such people sitting next to me in a bar and paying a much higher price than me for a girl who was less beautiful than the one I had chosen. So it’s no wonder some girls take a chance of getting such customers at least during the early part of the night, in particular at the top of peak season (according to hotel prices: between December 21st and January 20th), when tourists are numerous and have more money to spend. Another factor is that the most business-oriented girls will hope to get two customers in one night (i.e. an early ST for 1000 and a late LT for 1500 = 2500), and may not be willing to take a LT customer if it’s too early. It’s not the case of all the girls and anyway, after one or 2 pm they have already lost hope to get two customers.
Girls from Tiger entertainment centre may be sometimes a bit better looking, but after you have paid your drinks, ladydrinks, and barfine, there no reason to overpay the girl on top of it. I also picked up some cute girls there for 1500 LT, but in general I prefer to pick them up in disco in order to avoid paying bar expenses which can easily amount to more than 1000 THB. I only pick up girls in bars if when I walk around I spot a girl I really like and think “wow! I must have this one”, or when I want to sleep early.
What I’m surprised is that Durianfan also got such high prices quoted in discos such as Tai Pan (easy to get 1000LT-1500LT there, it’s the same in Tiger disco), or late in Bars or in the street. There are sometimes posts like this one in this thread and I have no explanation for it.
Anyway, never ask them how much they want! Just tell them how much you give them!
To conclude on Phuket/Pattaya: Yes, Pattaya is definitely a better place for mongering. The problem is that I don’t like Pattaya which make me think of these places in Spain that are overcrowded by British tourists in summer. I find Phuket more relaxing with everything available on short distance. I also think it's nice to have regular tourists around, even if it sometimes spoils prices.

She told me 300, so I said I wanted her to go with me and I'd pay her 1500 for LT. A frown came over her face. I said fine 2000 for LT. Another frown. "3000 baht" she says. I finish my drink and then walk away. She didn't call me back. This was about 12:30 am.
This type of scenario occured about 5 times.....just in Tiger. On Soi Gonzo it's a bit cheaper - they usually ask for 2000 but you can usually get them down to 1500. At 2 am there were a few girls around that I asked, but unfortunately all of them said 2000 and would not come down, but it's not unheard of. Tai Pan -- I asked several different girls -- I TOLD them 1500 LT and they ALL said 2000. I walked away.
I could sort of understand these high prices if I was a fat ugly farang. But I'm not. Oh well. I'm off to Pattaya tomorrow where I expect to have more fun at cheaper prices.

Well, for one thing, it seems that you never asked what they wanted for Short Time. The fact is, many ladies simply do not want to go for Long Time with someone that they have never been with before, for any number of possible reasons. They may price LT outrageously as a means of effectively avoiding it.
If that's not it, perhaps you smell from the Durian that you enjoy, and they find the aroma unappetizing.

Is the flow of customers so important at the top of the peak season (20 Dec-20 Jan) that prices go up because demand is higher than supply (at least for beautiful girls)? I've never been in Phuket at this precise period.
One month ago it was absolutely no problem. I've been there in February/March last year, and it was also no problem. LT may be a problem only when it's too early. Durianfan is obviously experienced and according to him not a fat ugly biersack.
Anyway, the top of the peak season is soon over!

Trying to plan out my first trip to Thailand and I've decided to spend a number of days in Phuket. Is there a major difference in the nightlife between the different beaches? How is the nightlife in Patong beach?
Patong Beach is the most happening place in Phuket for monggering. The beach is ok, the night life is great.
If it's your 1st trip to Phuket, that would be the place to be for ladies and some diving etc. Visit all the other beaches during the day and if you like for example Kata then you can always transfer to a room there later.

I suggest you all read a few pages of reports in this thread before you coe to Phuket. The info would be very useful. Take some short notes, or key into your mobile phones the main points. I tell you, it really helps, so we dont get screwed on prices etc.
Yes, March should be fine. Prices for ST would range from 500 to 1000 bahts and LT 1000 to 1500 bahts. If you dont get quoted these rates, just try and try again, I am sure you will hit the right one. 2000 LT for stunners are also not unheard of.
Most of Patong's top range hotels may not be so girl friendly. As these hotels cater to the married and family crowd. But so long as you book in advance and mention its a double, and also check in advance the rates in the event you bring back a girl, you should be alrite.

As concerns upscale GF hotel, I agree there are probably only few ones. I would not be so sure that booking a double would solve this problem (unless you bring your TGF to check-in with you and stay only with her).
Always ask them by mail or fax if there is a joiner fee and how much. In case of doubt never prepay your whole staying and choose a booking option where you only risk one night charge and can change hotel the next day.

I am staying at Salathai on my trip in March because I have seen reports that it is GF. It isn't a mega large impersonal hotel. Has pool and pleasant looking rooms and is only one road down from Bangla. I'm paying 2600 THB for a superior room via sawadee.

I stayed at the Safari Beach Hotel last year and it was great. The Manager name was Mark a young Philippines guy very helpful and the staff are all very friendly.
A good mate ( Mal ) runs a nice friendly bar restaurant called The Tipsy Prawn next to the Safari Beach Hotel on the beach side of the road great location for happy hour, foods great too and he can point you in the right direction, thats if hes thai GF hasn't cut his nuts off for being a naughty boy!!

That's exactly my situation. I will be in the Marriott resort for a week in April. My wife and I enjoy the swinging scene and occsionally bring wgs back for fun. Moneys not really an issue - especially at the rates quoted on this forum. So my question is does anyone have experience of bringing back wgs for 3somes with their partners in Phuket. I have RTFF and can see no references to this kind of fun?

I was wondering if anyone has been during July and peak season, and could give an opinion on the below aspects during these times of the year (please) :

It depends. Do you enjoy getting splashed with water when you walk past bar girls whom you don't know? I can assure you that the bars are open. Personally, I am not a fan of Songkran. Basically, everyone is drunker than usual, and you are never safe from a stranger squirting a water gun on you.
I was in Bangkok and Phuket last year for the festival, their version of Mardi Gras. At first it was very strange, but once you get into the spirit and wear the appropriate clothes, I had a blast meeting many people. In Bangkok the Hollywood disco was crazy with locals. In Phuket it makes very little difference monger-wise, just bring a good attitude like always.

I am giving myself a little birthday junket and hope to fill out my dive program with high end mongering. I have been watching this forum for a short time trying to determine how best to meet my requirements on that end.
My specs are as follows;
Find a local lovely that I can keep overnight (or several days if that worked out).
How would I best accomplish this? I do not drink and from what I have seen of the bar scene videos I would not be to comfortable there. I have only heard of one soapy (Christian's) and those reports have not been very encouraging. Cost is not an issue here so what is my best approach?

First of all you don't have to drink alcohol in the bar if you don't want to, drink Coke or bottled water. I don't know what about the bar scene makes you uncomfortable but there are a lot of bars in the Bangla Rd area, I'm sure you can find something 'comfortable', go early if you don't like the crowds.
Christy's isn't recommended but there are a lot of small massage places in Patong, you'll see the girls standing outside beckoning customers, most of these places offer extras and I would assume you can make a deal to take the girl to your hotel.
If you don't like either of those suggestions, there are plenty of girls on the streets at night along Beach Rd and Bangla Rd especially after the bars close, so you can pick up a girl easily without spending any time in a bar if you don't want to. Just be careful you get one that's really a girl, lot's of katoeys in Patong.
Also make sure your hotel allows unregistered guests, some don't or will charge you extra, but cost is not an issue right?

I would say Bangla Rd, but it really doesn't have much action that early although there are always girls around.

I have stayed in both...the summer breeze is nicer but slightly more expensive....C&N is okay, but more primitive and noisier from Bangla rd discos.
Airlines - I've flown low cost Nok and 1,2 Go many times. Both sell one-way tickets from Don Muang (old) to Phuket. As international flights only arrive at the new airport allow for a 40 - 80 minute taxi transfer (varies with traffic). Generally, the one-way fare increases from 1400 to 1900baht the closer to the departure date. Online or airport ticket office purchases have both worked well, but some flights fill quickly. Best to book as early as possible to assure flight time and to save money.
Non-bar Ladies - The suggested massage shop girls are best because you can sample for chemistry and attitude. In general they may be older, but younger beauties can be had. Massage shop take-out fees range from 500-1000baht for long time or you can wait for the shop to close at 11:00pm.
Hotels - Safari Beach has the best combination of medium prices (across road from beach 1200baht to on beach 5000baht) and 30m from Bangla road.

Does the volume and quality of the nightlife drop off significantly in the rainy season?
The last couple years I've visited in April and July and any fall off is greatest by the tourists. Everything is still booming in clubs, bars, MP's, etc. In my opinion there is very little fall off in the number of girls, just lower cost hotels and better girl-to-monger ratios. Enjoy!
Safari Beach Hotel looks very well located but is it quite guest-friendly, any recent feedback for 2008 appreciated.
Also what is it like in terms of bringing back TG during day/night, are they many mongers staying there or is it going to be all families and honeymooners..... I am going to be there in May, supposedly low season, quite !

They have increased there prices substanially for 2008, and the internet price now is actually 2450B in low season for their cheapest room (contemporary thai deluxe room). The good news is low season starts May 1 and everything is negotiable during this period. Every hotel will have many rooms available. No need for reservations in low season. An offer of 1500-1800B would probably be accepted. If arriving without a reservation is too scary, book only one night, then search when you arrive. Safari Beach is a small hotel with a mixture of "couples and mongers" but you rarely see many other other customers. Initially they may have the "guest" leave her ID at the reception, this is for your security, but 90% of the time they don't even ask for this. And never a joiner fee has been charged.

May is my favourite time of the year in Phuket. I am in Patong each time during may, august and then over Christmas/New Years Eve. May - low hotel cost, more attracted by BG's (allthough never have a problem during peak season neither - hihi) and most of all, no need to say "goodbye, see you next year" but rather "see you within 3-4 months" which is do-able for a non-resident of the LOS.
Rainy season ? No big deal in a place full of sunny faces. I can't remember a time when it was raining throughout the day.
Counting down again for may 2 to arrive yet again.

To answer your question, yes it is girl friendly although you have to pay 500baht to bring the first girl back but then it is free from then on!
Although the guy working on the desk at night was usually asleep so we would just sneak the girls up ;)

I severely doubt that she will change much in a week in terms of wild sexual practices. Some silly girls might change to bareback but that is very risky. Her period might start in the middle of the week.

2 a day is the best way. ST early in the evening and then a different one later on or in the morning. Try an MP if you can't find a girl when horny. Watch out for lots of Ladyboys.
You can always repeat with the best girls, but variety is best until you are really sure what you like.

Air Asia look to have good prices for the flight between the 2, but I was wondering how reliable are they?
Don't want to get stuck in Singapore because Air Asia's only plane is broke down.
You can't go wrong with Air Asia. They are reliable and offer good deals.
I'm looking forward to their services between Bangkok and Saigon coming up april 4.
Tiger Airways between Singapore and Phuket also has good deals while they seems very reliable too. The budget terminal in Sin is very convenient.

There was construction work ongoing next lot. Walls on first floor room were paper thin. I could here normal conversation from the next room. I complained after first night and they upgraded me to roof top bungalow without added charge. That was nice of them. The hotel is located centrally by the beach road. That is good and bad. Good thing is short distance to beach and bad is that when turning left or right you are walking through aggressive sales people every day. Another annoying group of people are overpriced Tuk-Tuk drivers trying to sell their rides. The beach is not better place in that sense. Sales is happening there also.
Good in that location was that it was, not close, but on walking distance from Bangla Road. That immediately became my Mekka, my destination of pilgrimage. I found a girl for each night. A girl working in bar or someone who had her hand bag behind the counter. Specially the latter ones may be looking for a husband. LT was more expensive (2000B) than in Bangkok or Pattaya. During my stay there were quite many government and election days. Bangla was closed and bars, in principle, not selling alcohol. Funny thing was one of those days we were eating in restaurant and one could spot people drinking alcohol if they had "Mickey Mouse" plastic cup in front of them.

Glad you had a good time but your hotel is not girl friendly this means that you do not have to pay a joiner fee to the hotel.

Usually AA is on time when the flight is in the morning.
Later in the afternoon and very much in the evening they have often massive delays.
