i went to koh samed last week for a short holiday with the shrimp. i had a great time.
this is more of a travelogue than anything else, but i hope it is helpful.
we took a taxi from bangkok to rayong harbour. cost 2200 bht after some haggling with a group of off-duty drivers in soi 11. the taxi arrived at our hotel on time, and took exactly 2 hours 10 minutes door-to-door, despite the heavy traffic in bangkok.
at the harbour we had missed the 2.30pm ferry by 2 minutes, so had to wait until the 3.30pm ferry. the choice is the standard ferry for 100 bht each, or a shared speedboat for 250 bht each (i think the price includes a fee for entry to the national park). we opted for the latter, and it took us directly to our hotel’s pier. the journey time was 5 minutes on the speedboat, or 30 minutes on the ferry. if you take the ferry you then have to get a truck to your hotel.
we had booked the samed cliff resort on-line. 2200 bht per night for a bungalow. it was perfect for our needs – clean, spacious with en-suite and view of the sea. the beach is only small here, and hire of a scooter (300 bht per day) is essential unless you want to be stuck in one place all the time.
the main beach has fabulous white sands, and in the evening is even prettier, being lit up by thousands of lanterns and candles at the many beachfront bars and restaurants. koh samed is a national park, but these are only words written on a sign, it doesn’t mean that anybody picks up the litter or keeps the place tidy. in the day-time we ate at the thai eateries, and went to the beach for a romantic evening meal :).
the island is a holiday resort for thai people at the weekend, and for backpackers the rest of the time. i did see one bar advertising coyote dancers but it was dark and always seemed empty. i would guess very hard to pick up a girl there – take your own.
coming back was the reverse of going out. doh! 350 bht total on speedboat, and 1000 bht to pattaya.

Doesn't seem to be very much info on this place, so here are my observations for what they're worth.
I 'took my own' so can't report on quality of service.
Stayed at White Sand Beach. The cluster of girly bars (known locally as 'Mini Pattaya') is at the southern end of the resort. Girls here looked poor-to-middling, with the occasional cutie. All the ones I chatted with were from Issaan, which is my personal preference looks-wise in Thailand, so I hope my assessment is fair. YMMV of course. The girls were asking for 2000 LT but could be haggled down to 1500, so prices same same Phuket. There are two more bars where girls are available which are on the hill going out of town, almost opposite the pseudo-Irish bar Paddy's Palms. Decent falang food here btw, if you're getting bored with local fayre.
Just before you hit the next beach along from White Sand, on the right on the hill down into the village of Baan Khlong Phrao is another small cluster of beer bars. Carry on to the next area called Kae Bae, which seems to be the Amphur area of Koh Chang, and there are several clusters of beer bars on the northern stretch.
Carry on further south and both Lonely Beach and Bang Bao pier have their attractions, but I couldn't see any punting ones on my (admittedly brief) visits.

A post from a few years back has a map with some locations (search for "To skank in Mae Sai" in your favorite search engine). What I found seemed different from his map. Of course, his map is 3 years old, and this area is changing; places come and go.
Here are my revised directions.
As you are walking towards the border crossing along route 1, just before the crossing is a soi with a banner for Hotel Wang Thong. The soi dips down near hotel entrance. At the next intersection, there is a snooker/pool hall on the left. If you go straight, you will go into a bus depot area (but NOT the bus station to return to Chiang Rai, which is 4km south). This may or may not be the T intersection the previous poster referred to.
Turn left. A short distance, you come to another T. (If you turn left here, the soi continues UNDER the border crossing area). Turn right instead, and walk a hundred yards/meters or so.

There is a peach-colored place with a sign that says 999 and massage and some Thai words. I asked how much for massage. No massage, only boom-boom, said the mama, and 500 baht. Another place, the mama said 600 baht. The girls did NOT look like the legendary Burmese girls, but I did not go all the way in. There are probably more places in this local's area, just wander around.
BTW if you do Mae Sai as a day trip, the last bus back to Chiang Rai is 18.00. I missed it, and had to negotiate a ride with a guy who was only planning to go to Mae Chan, because I had a morning flight from CR.
I also visited Tachileik. There are guys in the market area selling cigarettes, but they also have Viagra clones. Don't pay more than 150 baht for a package of (4) 100mg pills. I have not yet tried the ones I got. The same guys offered me girls for 700 baht. I am certain that if I could find the brothels myself, they would be much cheaper than that, since it is less on the Thai side.
If you go to Tachileik, it costs $10 or B500 for a two-week pass. Obviously if you can bring a $10 you will save a few bucks.

i did not spend a lot of time searching, but i don't think this is punter's paradise.
asking locals, i was told that at wangcome hotel (near the bus station / night market / central area) ladies could be had for 1000 baht. on a tuesday night around 10pm, there was nobody in the club - a male singer, and one hostess, nobody else, not even a bartender. possibly they meant the massage parlour in the hotel, but the massage prices are high and i did not bother asking.
the street running east/west by wangcome that has 3-4 massage parlours. the women who work there are mid-30s, and mine gave a good massage. my fireman said hello, and she offered hj for 300 baht on top of the original massage price of 200 baht, 500 baht total. it was well worth the money; my masseuse was good with both therapeutic and fireman massage, and she asked for nothing more. i did not inquire about other options.
sabuy massage parlour on thanon phaholyothin, just west of the bus station, has a lady boy working there. he is fairly obvious when he speaks in his male voice, though he says "ka" and tries to look like a woman, albeit a chunky one with big hands and feet. you have been warned.
otherwise, on tuesday night after 9 or 10pm, with the closing of the night market, the town was fairly dead. i suspect that if you give the universal finger poking fist symbol with the right taxi driver, you may find the local options.

I can see few things has changed since my last trip here end of 2006. Unfortunatly since 2004 mae sai is not agitated as she used to B.
I know the place you re talking about. If you ventured until the small round circle in the same street as 999 you can find some girls for 300 st but not attractive at all. The golden age of mae sai has definitively gone. No more than 3 houses was in action last time. During my last stay in 2006 the disco(forgot the name) on the main road attracted many FL the week end.
I will not recommanded to buy viagra, cigarette, alcohol cd in Tachilek. Especialy from street vendors. In 99% you will get fake product.
About brothels if you have never been there before your chance to find them are very close to zero. And all the brothels I know are far from the border and well hide.

One word about Chiang Rai, since the crackdown in 2003 the place is dead for mongering. The strip bar near Jetyod Road offered few opportunity at expansive prices. I ve heard also about brothels near the military camp but never find girl activity here. The last brothel near the hospital has closed some years ago.
Ps I have experimented to miss the last bus mae sai-chiang rai in 2006. It cost me 300 baths for hiring a taxi to Chiang Rai.
Is there any action in this little town? Couldn't find any info at all on here.

I did not spend a lot of time searching, but I don't think this is punter's paradise.It used to be a very lively little town, thanks largely to all the Thai military stationed thereabouts. But I lost my taste for the low end so the only place I've gone to over the past 15 years or so is the Orchid Massage at the Wiang Inn. Always well satisfied . . .

I was in Hua Hin Sept 09. I had to try several pharmacies before I found one that sold Cialis. I thought it could be bought without prescription anywhere in country. Was repeatedly told that it can't even be bought with prescription until I found a place that sold it. I half expected it to be counterfit & bogus, but it worked as usual. I am seriously considering a 2 week SCUBA trip to Thailand after Xmas and considering Koh Chang. Plenty of info available on SCUBA and hotels, but lacking on the p4p. My main concern is there enough selection to find something nice for NYE, or am I better off staying in BKK or Pattaya for NYE? I have plenty of first-hand experience in Thailand, but none in respect to Koh Chang. Any insight would be most appreciated.

You're better off in Pattaya or Bangkok for *anything* when it comes to PFP. I haven't been there for 2+ years, but Koh Chang has mostly resorts, and no major town, so while I'm sure you can find a girl or ten, I doubt selection will be impressive.

Get there either by flight to Trat and minibus to the island or bus from BKK. The main road goes down one side of the island where all the falang delights are (the other side is Thai orientated).
First beach you hit on the shared taxi (saeng thaw) is the most developed, White Sands BEach. Big disco bar with live music and plenty of freelancers there esp. on the weekend when the hotties come over from the mainland.
Mini-pat is further down the road, a small area with some open girlie beer bars etc but when I was there last about 2 years ago there were several falang there who loved to fight. A number of other places along that coast with various bars, such as Kaibe beach. Some places go quiet during the off season but I have found that you get more attention at that time. Further down the road there is the backpacker's beach and at the very end of the island there is a quiet small beach with fewer beggars and botherers.
Be aware that the backpackers beach area has its share of druggies and the police (including the Tourist Police) swoop down on that part of the island and cart everyone off on a regular basis.
I always enjoyed KC but Pattaya it is not. Much more laid-back and suits the chap who is not into several different girls every day. I found girls there who were inclined to be more gfe than other places in Thailand - some were really semi-pro rather than hardened pros. I am into the younger ladies like the next man (there is not much to beat a toned 25 year old!) but several times I found myself one that was mid 30s or even 40 who were so into it that we both had a blast and were far better in bed than the younger ones.

Friendly and warm, no hassle, as much sex as you can handle. Prices like Pattaya, but not in your face. Full of rich Russians and Thais. A few Germans and Brits.

Yes......New Year's Eve is the key time of my concern as I will not arrive until like the day before and didn't want to come-up short OR have to work too hard after the long trip across from the US. Having been to Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Samui, I know what the scene is and would not worry about the selection nor have to work too hard to find a companion. I welcome additional feedback, but may consider hanging in BKK to ring-in the New Year and then head to KC afterward. Or perhaps, I will head straight to Koh Samui or Phuket. Just prefer to explore other parts of the country, both above and below the ocean!

There are as many beer bars and good looking women as you will ever need.
Many are of a very good standard because there are no GoGos to cream off the best ones.
Be careful in the massage places though, not all do what it says on the sign.
Best place to be is Kai Bae Beach for "being"; White Sands has more beer bars but it a bit unfriendly; Lonely Beach is dull; Bang Bao is cool but not too many bars. The best beach by far is Klong Prao.
After doing alot of researching, it seems that me being posted in Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia for a 1 year project doesn't seem all too that bleak as I jz found out about this small town called Danok jz across the border.
Just got my passport after flying back to KL last week, so am hoping to perhaps pop over to Danok for a day trip tomorrow. The main reason for such a short trip is because I've nvr been there before and I'll most likely be going alone. So don't want to test my luck by staying over night.
I've read alot of the posts here about Danok, but most of them seems to be outdated. Is Danok still alive and rocking?
Also, any advice or if anyone here's willing to be my guide, I would be more very grateful!

i was in hua hin last month, very pleasant place for few days seaside holiday. i visit the famous [CodeWord900] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord900) (blow-job bar). to be honest, i would not recommend that much. you can find better value and experiences in several massage places in the same street. girls in the local bars also available for take-out, though the best-lookers seem to go to bangkok.
i took girl back for night at my beach hotel, no problem although security guard took her id. i made sure he gave it back next morning.
no flights from bkk, you must take taxi (2-3 hours).

Can anyone reccomend a good hotel, I am looking for a 3-4 star not too busy but close to town centre, must have a pool with sunbeds. If you have been to Pattaya I am looking for something like Sandy Springs or LK Rennaisance or even Areca lodge. Annual holiday with her indoors so not too concerned about bringing guests back, I will just be sneaking off to lollitas everyday when she is snoring near the pool.

Go to the Hadyai thread of the Thailand Forum here. You will be able to read up on Danok.
Nice place and you will have no problems with an overnighter. Stay at Oliver Hotel. Go around Oliver to take the girls, make sure you take from the shop and have the papasan hp no. LT for a decent girl should not cost more than 2500bht. Hotel is around 90 baht with breakfast.
Couple of places you could check out for drinks are such at Pattaya and Hello Bangkok Disco. You could also go to the late night disco located behind Oliver (but in this place you must be careful).

Hua Hin is generally a bit more expensive than Patts. There are a handfull of 2/3 star hotels close to the town centre such as White Sand, Peony, Thipurai and City Beach. But they will disappoint compared to what you are used to in Patts.
If you are willing to splash the cash, the Sofitel (some decent deals if you search) or the Hilton are better options. Or rent a villa on one of the gated communities and commute (might be a better option wrt the missus - "just going into town to the bank, dear. Won't be long.")
I just got back after some wonderful days in Koh Chang. I want to thank everybody that previously reported on it and ad some extra info.
I went directly to Koh Chang from Suvurnabhumi Airport bus station with an aircon bus. Takes about 7 hours including the ferry and from the bus station you take a baht taxi to your hotel. Stayed at Sofia Garden resort which is good standard for only 600 Baht per night. Very good value. It is located between Klong Phrao and Kai Bae.
To get anywhere on Koh Chang you need a motorbike that costs 150-200 Baht per day to rent.
As stated prieviously by other posters the best beer bars are in White Sands that has a complex which is about the same size as the beer bars in Huahin. I would reckon it is tiny by Pattaya standards but I have never been to Pattaya so I can not judge. There are also beer bars between White Sands and Klong Phrao and a small number of bars in Kae Bae. Bar fines are 300 Baht, lady dinks between 120-150 Baht and LT is 1000 Baht. It is usually until 12 the following day. I took many ladies for more than one night and in some bars you do not need to pay additional barfine for following days while others require this. Service offered by all ladies I tried was BBBJ and covered sex. No anal but I did not ask as I only do it with regular girl friends. Overall all ladies I met where very safety minded which I like. I never take pierced/tatooed ladies or ladies that smoke so the selection is usually limited but on Koh Chang most ladies were like that.
There are several oppurtunities to score freebees with Farang women especially when the resorts in Kae Bae have parties. There are also frelancers in Sabay Disco in White Sands.
On the weekends Koh Chang gets packed with Thai tourists. When I was there about 80% of all tourists were Thai. In the bars however about 20% of the customers were Thai.
I really recommend Koh Chang which is beatiful and has a real rainforest if you want to do something else than monger.

Just had a wonderful time in Cha am and I was with with her indoors!
Stayed at the Ban Pantai hotel, excellent rooms, cheap beer, friendly staff, lovely pool in fact couldn't fault it. Met one or two European guys who had brought their honeys from Pattaya they also liked the place. There is 1 gogo bar in town as far as I could find "The Chicken Coop" checked it out beats Happy a gogo hands down. Cha am is a sleepy town mainly full of Thais, this is reflected in the prices for food and drink, large Chang or Leo 60 baht.

During my upcoming trip to Thailand I will spend a few nights in Samui and then a one or two in Ko Tao. Now, an idea keeps buzzing in my head: Ko Tao could provide the chance to sleep and shag on the beach, something I admit I've never done in my life.
It would be a buddy and I and, provided we both first find in Samui a girl we like enough to bring her along for the ride, Ko Tao seems (never been there before) like a place where it shouldn't be difficult to find a deserted little beach where you could spend the night gazing at the stars, skinny dipping and getting laid.

I will also relay a memory from a walk on the beach at Patong/Phuket years ago: There are little critters running all around the beaches at night. Mostly crabs, but it could have other things too, such as sand fleas. I'd think twice about this plan.

Am considering a move from BKK to Hua Hin so went down this past weekend to check it out. IMO, it's a decent place, pretty laid back, with a nice vibe and friendly people. A little more touristy than I'd expected, even though it's low season.
Just happened into the sin sector and found most bars very empty, and, consequently, most girls were a bit aggressive in their attempts to grab the few wallets that were about.

Are the hotels girlfriendly? I will spend only a few days on Koh Chang and mongering will not be the main aim but maybe the icing on the cake. After helping to check you in and taking your bags up to the room, in the old days, the bellman would just ask you straight out if you "want lady", then just steer you to a room on some floor with a "Boofull Lady Pahma" (Burmese girl.) I think the first night I "tipped" 500 baht (for 1 hour session after some easy negotiating), and the second night 800 baht (for 2 hr session with no discussion of money). You visited during the absolute low-season when there are few if any farangs (June / July). At that time of the year the girls are so hungry they are willing to swallow practically anything. Heading from Hua Hin airport there's a set of traffic lights just past the temple complex. Go straight on (if you turn left at these lights you'll find the police station and post office) for about 200 metres. Hua Hin 80 is a street on the right; there's a 7 to 11 on the corner that you can use as a landmark. The first bar on the right, called Omah, advertises massage but is straight. Other bars further down the street has action. One called Night Owl has cubicles upstairs. 300 baht fot "massage" plus 1000 for the lady.

I got a minibus from Pattaya, which includes the ferry trip, for 650. Not too rotten for that kind of thing. If I wanted to pay less, I would have had to flag down a bus on Sukhumvit highway, take a songtaew from Trat to a pier, and negotiate the ferry and transport on the island. Or I should have started from Ekkamai in Bangkok. I'll know the way better next time.
The songtaew from the pier to the first beach (White Sand Beach) is 50b, which I thought at first was a bit much. I thought maybe I'll just walk. That would have been a mistake. It's miles along the coast, up and down. So 50b is actually perfectly reasonable.
White Sand Beach is "overdeveloped", but quite comfortable. Accommodation is rather overpriced on the low end. Koh Chang Hut seems to be quite reasonable (advertising rooms from 400b) , but only 700 was available to me. I was shown the place by an older bargirl. Later I went to buy her a drink and heard that she stayed with an American guy for 5 years, but he suddenly went home one day. Now she's looking for someone to take care her again, and she believes it's a better class of mongers who come to Koh Chang.
The bars are easy to find, just walk to the southern end. There's one main cluster of bars. They weren't fully stocked with girls, some were empty, but enough to go round. I found a bar with four cuties. I stayed for a while chatting and flirting, and eventually the partygirl I was talking to asked if I saw any girls I liked anywhere. I told her yes, actually I'd like to fuck your younger sister. The younger sister was a very proper-looking slim girl who hadn't made eye contact at all. I got a minibus from Pattaya, which includes the ferry trip, for 650. Not too rotten for that kind of thing. If I wanted to pay less, I would have had to flag down a bus on Sukhumvit highway, take a songtaew from Trat to a pier, and negotiate the ferry and transport on the island. The next time I was there, she wanted me to take her to Sabay Bar. I went to check out Sabay Bar and found it is a pretentious expensive beach lounge place with a boring band, full of families. It would have been a disaster. But it's kind of touching that that is the kind of place she would like to go.
I went to a couple of the other beer bars. In the one, a very sexy drunk abandoned * threw herself at me very becomingly, and gave me the phone number of her younger sister in Bangkok.
The other one I went to was staffed by a team of midgets from Buriram. Two of them were playing pool with two tall Germans. Then some alcoholic prick doddered in out of the night and started whining and moping. Apparently he has history there, because the midget started telling him to get lost. Before long he was lumbering at her and shoving her around. Very stupid. Gents, it is not a pretty sight seeing a sexy little firecracker with empty bottles clutched by the neck in both fists hoarsely yell SAT! At some 50yo acting like a baby. ("Sat" is a very bad insult: animal. Normally blood follows.) The other bargirls were talking her down, and as far as I know, he didn't get cut, although he was trying his best to get into hospital.
In the meantime the dark one had finally joined us, but while the party was going to pieces some big guy rolled up quietly on a motorbike, gave her a nod, and she slipped away and got on behind him, and they vanished into the night. ...but then on reflection, after reading your second report, may not be my kind of place, sounds like something out of a Fellini movie. Might just check into the Sabay Bar. :)

And yes it takes 5, 5 hours in total with a 30 minutes stop in between. Although it is the max I will travel by bus, it is not too bad and way faster than a bus to Trat where you have to wait until a Songtaw is filled up for a 30 minutes trip to the ferry pier.

The downer about the minibus was that they dropped us at their own terminal, still some way from the pier. Then we had to wait about an hour for a songteaw to show up to take us the last bit of the way. Some people were getting hot under the collar.
There are big buses that go straight to the pier (and from the pier to Bangkok) , but I think then you have to start from Ekkamai.

In Koh Phangan, I saw quite a few bars but did not partake so I can't comment on quality or performance. Directions to the bars: while in Tongsala (the place where you arrive by ferry) , ask for the road to Ban Thai (another village). After turning a few times to get out of Tongsala, you arrive on a long stretch of straight road. After about 1km a few bars appear. There are around 10 or so on a 1km length of road. All of them before Ban Thai. Bars are open in the evenings, not during daytime AFAIK.

AB453A couple of years ago, I stayed at the Felix hotel that was very nice. The nurse was meeting made the reservations. We went to several bars, but many of them were local Thai so I can't help you on the bar area.
There did seem to be some girls available when we were eating in the restaurants down by the river.
One other note, you had to cross a bridge across a small river to get to the Felix so if you are on foot it might be a little isolated. She had a car so it wasn't a problem for me.

flew into bkk, picked up the shrimp and spent one night in town to recuperate. let her negotiate a taxi rate to koh samet. i think we paid 2000 or 2500bht. morning departure for 2+ hour drive to rayong. here you can book accommodation and book a boat crossing.
hotels on koh samed are either very top end or fairly basic. they are overpriced either way, so it may be good to make a booking on the internet beforehand to get a good rate. i can recommend samed cliff resort or similar name as good mid-price hotel, but it is a bit remote. in any case hiring a scooter is a really good investment. the low end hotels are fairly basic, but comfortable enough, with a bed, ensuite and aircon being my basic requirements. we paid about 1300 bht for one room in a hotel by the 'pub' who's name i forget on this my second trip.
the boat crossing is either regular ferry, and then you will need a truck taxi at the other end, so a bit slow and a lot of messing about. cheap though. the staff at the various hotel booths will try and persuade you to buy a speedboat ticket, which will take you quickly and directly to your hotel. a lot more expensive. i think 3000 bht for 2 return.
when you get there, hire a scooter and make excursions to various top end resorts to enjoy the beaches and see how the othe half lives! if you are stuck in one place all day it could get a bit boring.
any more thoughts and i will post later.

He offered her a 500 Bht fare from Pattaya to Bangkok, but she preferred to take the bus. I was left on my own in Pattaya for 4 nights. A nice way to break the journey on the way back.
Will be there overnight and wandered if there any good spots for some action.

Last month I visited Chaam with my GF. Yes it is correct that the place is frequently visited by the locals. If you are alone and after the adulteries the place is not for you. Pattya will be your best choice. But as usual like other cities in LOS here you can find limited choice for girls too. But I was with my GF and was not after the girls.
As we prescheduled she met me in airport and drive me to my Hotel Varnidavan at Ekkamai soi 12. I booked this hotel cause the house of my GF was just middle of her work place and my hotel. She can conveniently move to her work place and to my hotel too. Eventually we found that it was never been any issue for us. Cause next morning we move for Chaam.
The Hotel page in Agoda was said that the hotel has shuttle service for the BTS any near by. But practically the service was not available. So we opted taxi to arrive at Ekkamai BTS and used skytrain to appear Victoria Monument, where the Minivan service was available for Chaam. The fare was 160bht (?) each and dropped us on Hua Hin Highway road side.
For a short notice visit we did not booked any hotel before our arriving and my GF started talk with moto bike drivers to drop us in a hotel to be convenient for us. Later it was found that we have paid some extra commission for the moto bike drivers too. We paid 600bht per night but there were many good rooms in 400 bht or in 600bht far better then we spent our night. Finally we found the hotel we like, that is Chaam Villa Sun on beach road. 600bht, including breakfast and transferring to bus station. More over the hotel accepts Visa card for payment. So if you arrive in Chaam with out booking any hotel, then don't use the moto bike drivers for your hotel. Just arrive on the interjection of beach road and walk to your left or right road to search your hotel as you like.
The truth is I like Chaam beach. U can walk in water and can go as far as you can in the sea. Not so much crowd and really I enjoyed with my GF in a quite nice beach.

I was in Hua Hin last week for a 2 day business and staying at the Hilton as convenient location for whatever one would think it could be, we know this is not high season but anyway, the streets where empty and the small bars only open at 20. 00, lots of rain also.
My business partner was in de mood for a soapy, hard to find in HH, I knew about the Petch barber shop, a tip to the Hil. Doorman was working has it should be and got the right information,
It is located 200m. In to a sub soi 64 on Phekasem Road, next to the barbershop is the new Soapy, called Lelauadee, a newly beige painted building, beautiful decorated and very clean inside, open only at 05. 00 pm and only 6 girls, we took the best looking ones from the line up, I don't have to explain how the soapy should work but service and performance is was below level, top modern rooms no problem at all, kid did not speak any word of English, very loud Thai realty show on the TV, would not turn it down, she disappeared a few times, not allowed to touch or kiss, you could see that is was pure Thai orientated and not for falang, she pissed me off too much and little John lost interest and I left and then, finally she came up with the famous English word, you give me good tip, no way, my two friends had a similar bad experience,

We had a few drinks in the Hilton area and I must say, finding good looking girls is no big deal out there, we know it is not BK or PATS but at least I would have like to find something above a 6, finally I picked up a good looking and nice talking girl from a open beer bar to take with me to the Hilton club. 300Thb BF, it must have been about 11. 30 pm but nobody inside the club, one drink and up to the room for some fun, Hilton did not charged JF when she showed here I'd. 2000Bth LT + tip to the girl and it was well spend, I had a great time and ended up with only 2 hours of sleep.
We had to leave the same evening to BK but at least I had discovered a nice gem in empty HH.

A good place to try in Hua Hin is the Tropical Thai Massage shop very near El Murphy's bar on the opposite side of the small soi.
Price is 1000 baht short time and most of the girls there will do BBFS.

i spent 3 days in cha am. nice quiet place, but the bar scene is poor.
there are about 12-15 bars in soi bus station. easy to find from beach road, even no street name there. next to cha am south soi 1. most bars have just 2-3 girls and i have not seen any for who i have paid bar.
walking distance from there, on the street beween cha am and cha am beach, is another little scene with 4-5 bars including a go-go bar! but don't expect too much, just 5 girls and one is on the stage.
bf everywhere 300, girls expect 1000 st. next to the go-go bar is a hotel which offers a room for 200b st.

I was in Ao Nang last week for one night. There seems to be a small scene there. The first of two areas: A complex of bars / restaurants behind the shops on beach road. There was bar on the 2nd level called Airport, the girls were dressed as Stewardesses, fairly pushy. Not a bad place for a beer though. Everything was on offer. Some other bars and clubs in the area but did not check them. Looked like they were in play though.
Then there is a Soi across from McDonalds with about 6-8 Beer Bars. The most lively was Amy's 69 Club or something like that. Seemed to be a fair bit of LB's hanging around. Some decent talent but nothing great.
I did not partake so cannot offer a specific report.

Thai government introduced a new law."The Cabinet has approved new regulations that prohibit karaoke parlours from providing drinking or singing partners to customers, with their business licences being revoked if they do." So no more happy singing (and banging) with karaoke girls.
Of course there is always someone in business. So after checking for the more illegitimate massage parlours I found one near the market of Bang Niang on the same side about 200m before the market, coming from Khao Lak City (as they call it now *LOL*).
Just one girl was acceptable so asked for a Thai Massage (250 THB) and went to the rooms upstairs. She was really not interested in helping me with my back pain, her massage tecnique was really lame! So I asked her, if she could do also "special massages". She explained me the 3 options: HJ (500 THB) , BJ (750 THB) or "bum bum", but since she was very tired from the night before, she told me, she'd prefer not "bum bum" (I suppose the real reason was some lady thing.). So I agreed for BJ, but only for 500 THB. Total damage 750 THB for quite a nice afternoon BJ.
So if you happen to be in Khao Lak just find the more illegitimate massage places, there is nothing more than that, believe me.
These places will have mostly darkened windows, the rooms are not visible from the street, the girls outside are rather young and good looking and will greet you. Let's say. In a "different" manner.

Interesting. I don't like karaokes and do generally avoid them, but I still see them all over the place up here in Isaan, and they do have hostesses there. Or rather, there are some 'family' kareokes that are entirely useless, and a greater number of 'hostess kareokes' or 'naughty kareokes' as I call them, and one still does see reasonably attractive fairly sexily dressed girls (or ladies) sitting outside. I haven't taken girls from them lately, but I do use some girls who work in kareokes whose number I have from previous jobs, and they report that one can have young ladies for 1500 or older ladies for 1000 - and some of my farang acquaintances have used that service within the last 6 months.

I can only attempt to add a little to that. A main soi running north to south that connects the central city area with the working area is called Saphan Pla.
About 5 blocks west of Saphan Pla is the RLD.
I've never seen Thai providers in Ranong. But maybe up in the city center area there might be as there are bars there. I never went looking though because the Burma babes were the easiest path to relief. I hope it's a temporary closure.

Just got back from 2 weeks in Ratchaburi, with a few side trips to Hua Hin for some beach time.
I went there to meet a contact from ThaiFriendly. Got the train, quite a quaint railcar, not comfortable or fast but, enjoyable. At 338 baht one way, expensive compared to a mini-van at 100 baht.
Met the lady (38 years old) and her sister (thai fashion. Neither seem certain which mother / father they share, I am guessing cousins!) at the train station. She was true to her photo's, not a looker but a great body.
I was going to book a hotel as arranged but, I must have passed muster because we drove straight to her sisters house and dumped my bags. Nice new house in a locked community just outside town. Mazda 3 and new house, the sister had to be on the game I was thinking. As I found out over the next 2 weeks, no, she had a very successful wholesale business importing flowers from Malaysia. Quite an impressive turnover and she was a smart operator. Not so smart in her personal life, she was a scum bags mia noi, evil prick who had never worked a day in his life. He contracts to political figures who need certain people educated in the way of the world. Thank god he never turned up while I was there. He had a cupboard with his gear stored inside, I had a snoop, loaded 38 special in the coat pocket.
Had a guided tour of the town, quite nice, bigger than I thought.

Hua Hin is small with about 7-10 girlie bars on one street but you can what you want from there. More laidback service as compared to BKK. Check out Toro Bar has nice selection of girls.

I was in Kanchanaburi recently for a few days.
Travelling from BKK is simple by bus or train.
I chose the train. 100 Baht for a single ticket, which is interesting if you have never tried a Thai train journey before!
I stayed at River Kwai Hotel. 284/15-16 Sang Chuto Road, right in the middle of town.
It is quite nice hotel with, when I booked, a good internet price including a reasonable breakfast.
It has a big, mostly Thai disco on Saturdays but did not try (I'm a 'bit' old for the disco scene!)
There is one street of beer bars & eating places that seems to be the place that farrangs hang out which is quite near the war grave cemetery in town on the main drag.
Not a huge number of women around but enough to satisfy you if you have an itch that needs scratching!
Also several freelancers / civilians seemed to be available in some of the bars / restaurants.
Blue Jeans has some good live music most nights.
It made a relaxing break from Bangkok / Pattaya.

i didn't have any luck in chaing khong at all. i had high hope for some cute lao imports but was very disappointed. to be fair i found a couple of karaoke joints on the edge of town just back from where the bus stops, you should get a tuk-tuk if you want to go because it took me about 30 mins walking. (although in my experience i usually find the best stuff exploring on foot). anyway the quality or girls was average and they weren't orientated towards farang. i couldn't be bothered to make the investment on this occasion so i cut my losses and left.
if you can, perhaps head up to the border with burma, there is some good stuff on both sides. once you get there just speak to any of the moto drivers for info.

I speak Thai and knew something of the pricing, so we got out of there with some decent girls at an okay price. Without language and negotiation skills of the local variety, you would probably pay quite a bit more.
Chiang Rai has a few bars with girls, and some will go with foreigners. I have never been too pleased with the selection relative to other places in Thailand, but the girls on the streets of Chiang Rai are some of the prettiest in my view.
Good luck. You will have problems in all of these venues if you lack decent language skills.
There are bars & a disco which opens late in Hua Hin, try googling for hua hin after dark and you will find the exact area. Hua Hin is small with about 7-10 girlie bars on one street but you can what you want from there. More laidback service as compared to BKK. Check out Toro Bar has nice selection of girls.I live in Hua Hin and would not recommend it as a bar place. There is nothing which compares to Pattaya, Bangkok, decent-sized Thai cities, or the beach resorts. If your interests are in other areas, okay, there are a few bars where you can get laid, but selection is generally thin. If you are here for the golf, spas, restaurants as your primary reason. You can find enough bars to interest you. If it is only getting laid that interests you, just about any place is better.
Are some information from Ban Chang? I heard there ar some bars.

Thanks for any adviceKoh Samui. Ten or twelve years ago Koh Samui was an absolute monger's paradise. There are still lots of girlie bars in Chaweng and Lamai and a thriving FL scene in the discos but in line with the rest of Thailand the quality and numbers are massively down on those halcyon days. You only have to step foot in Pattaya these days to realise that Thailand has generally GONE as a key mongering destination. But out of all the island destinations (including Phuket) I would still rate Samui as being the best place for P4P. Which dooesn't mean it's great.
Koh Phangan. There's a strip of bars with girls on the road heading south from Thong Sala to Ao Bang Charu. The last time I was down that way there were quite a few ladyboys lurking there too. Again quality isn't great. Of course KPG fills up every month for the full moon party and the FL scene blossoms. But the young and beautiful girls can be picky.
Koh Tao. Not much happening here. A few years ago some bar beers sprung up in Sairee Village. The quality was appalling. I haven't been back since so I don't know the latest. Instinct tells me that things haven't improved.
Koh Lanta. This is a predominently Muslim island and if there's anything going on at all it is very low key. Nice beaches but get laid before you go would be my advice.

Phitsanulok is similar to most mid-sized towns in Thailand. Roughly 4-6 local-oriented brothels around Khunpirentoratep Soi 1 (see http://goo.gl/maps/2Rlx2) , girls around 400-600 (plus 100 baht commission if a tuktuk took you there). Some streetwalkers late at night around Naresuan / Sairuthai Road, a block away from the train station (see http://goo.gl/maps/Ko8CZ ). Finally, one or two naughty massage parlors for the usual 1500 or so, haven't checked them out. Your best bet is to hire a samlor (bicycle rickshaw thing) or a tuktuk at the train station, and ask them to take you around to check out places ( 100 baht would do for this, since they get commissions as well. But they can get slightly annoyed if you look but don't buy).
Overall, I wouldn't go there for sex, but if you're there something could be found. Although thin on the ground. If you're staying there for a while and have enough time in the evenings, I'd line up a few dates online instead of mongering.

For a little adventure, I wanted to go to Vietnam taking the "shortest route" from Khon Kaen, so the town of Mukdahan was the logical route. From there, there are quite frequent buses, last one leaves at 6. 30 pm, arriving well after 10pm, cost 170 Bt.

Then to go to the Tower I had to find something. The guard at the hotel points to his bike. Suggesting that "I go 7". No better options available, I took the bike, of of these semi-manual gear. All good except no front brake and I had no idea where I was going. Fortunately there a very clear signs, basically drive down until the traffic light, make a right, keep going and the tower is on you left inside surrounded by the small karaoke / brothels. There is a bigger beer / pub place, but it was empty so I did go to check out the girls, of which there are quite a few. To be honest, some are quie attractive. I sit with one, a petite of beautiful face, We have an Heinken at the cost of Bt. 240, god knows why there where three items in the bill, but she wanted me to double check it to make sure it was correct. Anyway the opening offer for going to my hotel was Bt 1, 500, I counter with 1, 000 but that didn't worked out and after a moment she was nowhere to seen after a while. I guess that me riding a '97 Honda Dream 110 did not helped my image. I check out few other places, there have Thai boysgetting in the middle of negotiation, but they are not really aggressive.
The best I could was to get very cute another petite for Bt 1, 200, of which 700 paid in advance, to her directly. She jumps on and I try to find my way back. Amazing Thailand, there is always a 7-Eleven open to buy condoms and other small stuff, she only wanted chewing-gums.
At the hotel, I was past due the promised return time with the guard, he indicates another 100 Bt on the top of the 100 agreed. I tell him mai pen lai as I have to take care of the lady more urgently.
In the room, not having the exact change, I sense that I was about to give away another 300 Bt for no reason, to avoid that I go down again and get change from the receptions. No problem.
The girl was cute but that was it, sure I did not expect a lot, no BBJ, mechanical, no this no that, started the 'jep' when doggy after 2 minutes. Og well, I had worse. I did my thing anyway.

I've heard and read the girls like the Hilton's disco, but I've never been.
If one is willing to settle on a BG who is wet, willing and able, there are about 50 to 75 to choose from on any given night, counting both Bintabat and soi 80. If you want young and or pretty, the odds are better if you bring your own.

She had a rack to die for but other than that basic fuck bag experience.

lampang is not a very good place for tourists, scowls and "farang farang" finger pointing in the streets. after 20:00 it turns from the curious farang calling to the hide your children farang calling. even trying to get a drink was a challenge."the strip" around the riverside restaurant and guest house was barely open at all. the riverside was the only place welcoming but that explained it self, they serve food and drink at bangkok prices. the other bars just didn't want you there. no tuk tuk to ply for information, if they exist they go home to sleep before dark.
some karaoke here and there with the walking dead as crew. did not want to give them money for nothing so just went back to my room. this obviously is a numbers list town with delivery for those in the know. i wrote this in night before and day after tried to get a legit massage, the place just hounded me out of there. has there been some farang serial rapemurderer prowling the region or what? this has been the only town where they just tell you to sod right off.
mae sai still has the strip going under the bridge and continuing until you find hookers. if you go 18:00. 20:00 there is actual hookers, after that the mode shifts to creepy thai style. later around 23:00 the focus is for **** or uncomfortably close.
early, found a soon starting on 30 for 500b, took me to the 100b hotel towards the river at the roundabout. smoke and cim, low english. negotiated cim fee after the deed was done. as i'm not thai i paid up what she asked. 200b.

JWas there with my Thai GF and returning from night out, nightporter catched us and my GF had to show her ID first and they won't let us in until I showed them my HH Platinum card and told them that I would report them to management the other morning. From 2000 and 2003 mae sai was a real little paradise for mongering. Tachilek remain a good place ever in 2007. You have to know where are the brothels. Not easy without a tuk tuk, But it worth the investment if you plan to come back often. I always have good time in tachilek brothels. During my last visit in Mae sai the girls quality was really low, and the prices was the same as tachilek brothels (but girls there have much better attitude).

* during week-ends and holiday periods it is the sea-side retreat for Bangkok's masses. They invariably come in pick-up trucks and other mass transit vehicles, choke up the roads and fill the beach chairs. Their minds are not on P4P.
* The city is also a university city (my GF is doing her PhD there) ; so it is full of young students, many of them on a tight budget and looking out for someone to sponsor them. Of course given the scarcity of farang in Ban Saeng, it is a buyer's market. As my GF told me, in the apartment block she lives there is an old Scandinavian guy, who has a regular Thai GF, but who still receives many young students in his apartment when the GF is not in town.
There are a few MPs in town, but as far as I could see they are not really geared toward farang and I do not know if they offer more than a regular massage. With a Thai GF who takes good care of me, I did not have the urge to go check these MPs out.

I have only been to Bang Saen a couple of times. Each time was with a 'Playmate. '
Great for a few days relaxing with some pleasant company and good seafood but, as you say not a huge scene there!
Although I always had a playmate when I was there I seem to remember that in a few of the small bars there were girls who certainly seemed to be interested in some Farrang company.
