Greetings Dirk Dingy,
I'll be in Tashkent in two weeks and need some advise.
Planning on giving the GF a laptop. Should I buy the 220 converter here or should I spare the luggage space and buy it there? Customs issues on arrival/departure?
May need to take the ENTIRE family out to dinner so ...... any suggestions? Googled a bunch, but your insight into what entertainment (other than my buffoonery) I should provide would be helpful.
What do you think of the Park Turon Hotel? Registration?
I only have one night to myself (drinking with some local associates) so I'll report on the P4P scene though I seriously doubt I can partake since the GF will be keeping me on a short leash.

It is my understanding that most if not all laptops can process both 220v and 110v--you will likely need a small device that allows one to plug in the three pronged plug into the two pronged walls found outside of the Americas.
Take the family to Salvatore, which is right next to La Riva a few blocks down from the Grand Mir. It is decent food with an interesting floor show, live music, and a dance flooor...many birthday parties are held here. It would be wise to make reservations.
Park Turon is good and they will register you for sure.
Living here is much different than being a tourist I must say...this place is really closed up and the people here are really terrified of the State. This comes out when you start to make local friends.
The babes here are great...but it is all about the $$$$. This should be no surprise to most of you.

Yes, but the ones that think they are pretty will say it's a 100 bucks per shot and many will try to leave after you bust or after about two hours no matter what they agreed to in negogitations previously--it's a common Uzbek thing.
FYI, I agreed on a price for a villa, shook the man's hand, and left a deposit but the next day the guy raised the price by 200 bucks.
The taxi guy in front of the Irish Pub has some great girls that operate on the down low;better use them than the skanks from Diplomat.
I don't use hoes there too much now unless I am drunk at 0400.

regarding the "fun" business.
one can meet some pros and non-pros on the dating site love. mail. ru
the pros are mostly average or less than average looking, but some can be pretty. regular price in an apartment is usually 40-50,000, about $25
try not overpay girls. maybe some girls try to scam foreigners asking for $100+ unless it is some top model type girl, it is too much.
$25 is good money here. a monthly salary of $200-$300 is considered good. that's what professionals earn in many cases. for example in banks, cell phone companies.
when arriving get your registration asap. before you get it if stopped by milicia, don't be surprized if you have to pay them 10000($5). it's their "job" to look for some "violators". but the positive thing is that milicia and people in general are polite and milicia is usually happy with small amounts of "donations".
when entering the country declare all the money. especially for foreign currencies declare everything, including smaller bills.
when leaving also declare everything. if you do not declare something, they have the right to confirep001e the undeclrared amount. and if they catch you(its there job), they will take it for sure.

But still they can stop anyone. I live close to the presidents' highway where they have more "security". Therefore they may stop you more often especially at night.

You can stay at Radisson or Dedeman or any 5 star does not matter every hotel is girl friendly. You just pay some extra money to the hotel.
I will give you one nice tip. If you ever been to the saunas in Germany, there is one in TS which is similar even better. This place is next to the Niagara nigth club. There is no sign of it only a big door with a buzzer next to it. If you now any locals just ask them they probably know.
You reserve the place for 3 hours, and there you can have a special massage, drinks, food and the girls just keep coming. If you like them you take them if you don't the new ones just keep coming. We paid around 250 USD to the place we were around 8 people. You pay 50 USD to the girls per shot.
Other than that you can always go to diplomat club after 11pm.

I have never been to Tashkent and planning a trip in the first week of March and after RTFF i got the impression that big hotels did not allow guests to be brought in the night even if you paid extra.
But now our friend has mentioned that any 5 star is girl friendly just have to pay extra. How much is extra? Can you please specifiy? Thanks.
I am planning to stay at the Intercontinental Hotel in Tashkent. Will I face problems at the hotel bringing someone back with me in the middle of the night from Diplomat or if I get lucky at the night clubs?

Invite them to your "home", no matter if it is just a apt, to cook her a typical dinner of your home town, can be a great excuse you cannot use if you decided to stay in hotel....the just open a bottle of wine, some chips, you will probably end with no cooking, but falling asleep with her in your arms, at least that's what I wish you :D

Yes I was planning to get the apartment from Anton.
The pictures on his website for the interior looked cosy enough. But seeing you pictures of the building looks like a run down place.
Since you had the opportunity to use Anton - would you recommend this?

Anton is a very reliable guy, no problems. But about his apartments "cosiness", keep in mind you're in Tashkent, not in Monaco or in Miami. :)
The building on the pic is not a run down place (by Uzbek standarts). It's a rather upscale place, and furthermore located in one of the best neighborhood, Darhan. I personally felt good and confortable there, but it's just me. But frankly, if you're not used to a "deep FSU" lifestyle and don't speak just a bit of russian, I don't recommend an apartment rental in Tashkent. You'd be totally disoriented.
Anyhow, yes, of course, regular "freebie" type dyevs often don't feel confortable to go to hotels. Plus in an apartment you can stock all kind of booze and things for snacks, create your own atmosphere, have your own music, throw a party, ect. Undoubtedly, an apartment is better than a hotel. But also the pure fact is that scoring freebies requires time, and unless you have internet contacts that you have already flirted into submission and who are guaranteed fuks, there's few chances that you'll score during your first week. So the question is "will I stay long enough to score freebies, therefore to need an apartment, or, should the opposite occurs, would I not be better in a hotel ?".
Another point with the apartment, if you stay only a short period in town, is that your potential GFs could wonder why you don't stay in a hotel, and could suppose that you are a cheap sex-tourist not able to pay an hotel room. Remember that very few westerners come to Tashkent, and that coming from the west, you can't convince an Uzbek girl that you are not "rich". Most girls I scored in Tashkent could not believe that I was not staying in a hotel ..... how a european guy could stay in an apartment was literally beyond them (I legitimated this by the fact that I spent a long time in town - two monthes on my first stay, and one month on my second). Even taxi guys were astonished when I told them that I stayed in an apartment.
In short, if you stay for a significative period and are a bit culturally aware, you'll be better off in an apartment ..... but if you stay only one week or so, are not used to a "Soviet" lifestyle, and want to impress your dates, you'll be better off in a hotel.

I never been to Tashkent, but I am sure it will be more or less as the russian provincies where I have been: first time when you arrive you will be easily....lets say....surprised !
If you get use with the place, you can score great girls with totally GFE attitude, but there is a price for that and it is living in a city that looks more 3rd world than Miami or Monaco, with high risk to get boring and even if you find a good girl you will not know what to do or where to go, despite sex with her. Believe me or not, the risk to get boring is higher you could imagine.
If your goal is just to have sex, so probably it is much better if you look to another city, but if you are looking for an adventure holiday and unforgettable for sure, so TSK can be your city.
And follow the suggests of Prosal, for short time, better hotel and for short time you can be disappointed too, try to stay there at least one month and during the 3rd and 4th week you will have more girl you can bang, but probably during the first two weeks not much to do to kill the time...
And if you are never been in FSU provincies and if you do not speak russian.....well.....good luck :D

I contacted many girls from mamba.ru, all were at least shocked I had to stay in apt, I am sure they thought about me as Cheap Charlie that I cannot afford to stay in hotel, but on the other side, I am afraid in hotel you will have the only choice of the hookers receptions will send you, cause even if TSK is big city I hardly imagine totally normal girl to come to your hotel and looks like as prostitute....not forget it is a muslim country even if many seem not to care about it.

Many mongers are definitely not really aware of all the drawbacks, absurd situations, hoops, hurdles, discomfort, disappointments and immense moments of solitude, boredom and doubt that implies a trip to "deep" FSU.
Nonetheless the reward is worth the trouble IMO. You'll undoubtedly agree about that.

Firstly thank you for the in depth insight on the situation in Tashkent.
Now let me give you guys a bit of a background. I cannot speak russian. I might be able to understand a little bit but this has been to my mongering with 400 + UZbek, Russian, CIS women in bangkok. Financially I am very comfortable spending money. So that is not the issue.
I believe I can get the hotels in Tashkent to allow me to bring working girls to my room. Just have to grease the palms (I mean grease them heavily). My main reason for going to Tashkent is not for working women. That I can get I know for sure. I am going to try the local non working women. I have been in touch with 15 girls from mamba and out of them 4 of them are guaranteed to give it up to me. I am not talking about, taking them to the room and banging their brains out. I am more of a player type. I take them out for dinner in a nice upscale restaurant, drinking, clubbing and then back to my place for some real action. Eventually I will end up spending more money than picking a working girl. But I do working women all the time. I need to get the full GFE experience in Tashkent.
So after reading your inputs. I am toying with the following idea.
Book a room at the 5 star hotel and book the apartment with Anton as well.
That way I would have both the option. I will be able to tell in the first 30 minutes of meeting the girl if she is comfortable going back to the apartment or the hotel. Depending on what her decision is we can go there.
Getting the additional apartment will cost me US$350 for the week. I believe a small price to pay for the assurance that I have a secondary place. The only drawback with the apartment was that they do not have daily housekeeping. Is there a way I could get daily house keeping?
So gents what do you think of my suggestion get both the hotel and the apartment. Depending on the mood of the girl I can take her wherever she wants to go.
By the way I am in touch with a lot of Uzbek girls that came to Bangkok for working (primaryly CM2) and have now gone back and they will be more than happy to meet up with me, some even for free. But I want to try the non pros who I have hooked up on the internet. So if everything else fails with my newbies then I always have backup of the ex-working women that used to be in Bangkok.
My tentative travel plans for Tashkent are 9th till the 16h of March.

You can sleep at hotel until, maybe you will find a girl who will tell you, will never go to hotel, so you can say, I owe an apt too, where is the problem ? LOL
IMHO the GFE is also a matter of luck when you use contacts from mamba.ru and, according to my experience, no matter what they say, only once you will be there you will see what will happens....( between my 42 contacts, many neither showed up... ).

btw charvak lake (some 80 km out of tashkent, informal taxis can take you there for around 30 000 soums - 15 €) is a great place to kick back for a few days with a chick or two on board during scorching hot days (june - sept). it's the largest water reservoir in central asia. in fact "reservoir" is a rather pejorative term, it's an immense and immaculate lake with nice natural beaches and with an interesting (yet a bit rep001tered) beach scene in summer. truly an havenly place. water is turquoise, drawing a bit on the green, surroundings are majestic mountains of brownish and reddish dry tones. breathtaking.
if anybody is interested, i can provide a good accommodation address there : cheap - much cheaper than the main resort pyramids -, decent rooms, great pool, good food, helpful owners (who will even not be surprised if you show up with three dyevs and ask for only one studio, i did it !!), ect. pm me for owner's mobile phone number.

The huge difference between Uzbekistan and most other FSU/EE destinations is that it's not yet on the "sex-tourist map". Girls have been exposed to the West through travels (even if it's very difficult for an uzbek dyev to get a visa for anywhere, they even need a visa for LEAVING their country, go figure!), MTV or Hollywood movies and perfectly know the difference between a slob and a guy worth fucking. Plus Uzbek-ethnic women are rather conservative, much more so than Russians. Scoring in Tashkent requires time, cultural awareness, style and average to above average "game". Asking price for quality russian-ethnic pussy (pros) at Diplomat, the most upscale pick-up club in town, is 100$ TLN. Nonetheless, as it has already been said, Tashkent is swarming with "occasionals" or "semi-pros" that might be happy with much less (especially the ones you find in mid-level cafes or bars), but personally, I find unfair to give less than 50$ TLN. There's daily Uz Air flights, that barely take two hours. Cost for a roundtrip ticket is around 240 € if my memory serves.
Remember there's no visa on arrival at Tashkent airport (anyway without any proof of visa approval, you shouldn't even be allowed on the plane at Almati). You'll have to get it at Uzbek embassy in Kazakhstan.
Don't know if there is direct trains (that anyway should pass through Kyrgyzstan, so there may be a visa problem), but given the distance it would take at least 15 hours.
On a side note, Kazakh visa is quite a hassle to get in Tashkent BTW, and costs 80 us$.

You will get stuck for several hours on the Kazakh and then(even worse) on the Uzbek border. They check everybody's passports, vizas, tickets, commercial merchandise, etc.. takes very long time.
The train can be overcrowded(they let more people in than tickets/seats available), humid, with closed restrooms during stops(on the borders too for several hours). But you would definitely see some of the other sides of the country life and people, which you would probably not see in the capital. So maybe it can be good for some "educational" purpose. But very far from luxury travel style:)
If you're lucky you can meet some girls, but I saw very few good looking ones on the train.

some warning from the locals. be very careful when bringing a working girl to an apartment. there is a (low)possibility one can be setup by the police.

Well, you are right, surely many, but not all. As an example, Radisson pool access fee is $250/month and $500/trimester (it will be more expensive this year I've been told), and the place is VERY popular during scorching hot summer monthes with mid-to upper class devs who don't want to go suntan and swim at AquaPark with "poor people". An heavenly place by the way, that has been my most fruitful hunting-ground in Tashkent.

Uzbekistan seems like a tough nut of a country to crack! I'm on Daves ESL Cafe researching teaching english there for a year or 2. I came across 1 guy who started with Language Link and withing 6 months he and LL had a falling out? So he freelanced privates and classes netting $3Kusd a month before his visa ran out and he had to leave!
Does anyone really know how easy it is or not to get employment at Westminster Univ. Language Link? Or even a longer visa. Than a just a month?

LosoChange money at the 'jewelry bazaar'. The one not far from the Dedemon, before the bowling alley. A few days ago I got 2220, when Uzbeki friend talked to them for me, she got 2260. Girls at the Diplomat go with you for $100. No clock watching. Get them comfortable, and they drop insisting on pre-pay. The pool at the Radisson is excellent, btw, primarily on weekends though. There are a lot of Arabs/Turks/Hindus/Koreans et.al. around. Ask the girls what they think of these guys, and share a laugh.

LosoI was only in Uzbekistan for eight days, so could not do much more then just orient a little bit, skim the surface, and quick visit to Samarkand. Did leave one night with two Diplomat girls for 150us for both. A fun night. I do believe that some will accept 50, while others ask 200. Saturday night was more crowded, but Monday and Tuesday had some nice enough girls, and a lot less guys. Just got back from Tashkent (July 16th - 22nd) and here's my brief report:
Compared to last November, didn't find the locals as hospitable -- must be the heat. At least compared to here in Wash DC, the heat's somewhat dry. J Smokers, Gasthaus are closed. Apparently the owner ran into "problems" with the local powers that be, or wannabe. The fireworks are in the making--the locals say with a murmur, best to keep your head down, and hers even lower.
Speaking of hers.... the GF and I were having some issues so I had a few nights to troll. Stayed at the Dedeman so Diplomat was a convenient five minute walk.
Went there on Monday and Tuesday and frankly found the place manageable, they even waved the dress code and let me in with shorts on Tuesday. I am travelling in Uzbekistan at the moment, after having spent about 2 weeks in Tashkent. I got dates with 12 (no joke) girls from all social classes/backgrounds (waitresses, students, educated middle/high class, a model/TV presenter, etc.), both russians and uzbeks. Ages from 18 to 27; 3 christians, the rest muslims; english/french/russian speaking; contacted via internet or on the spot. I scored 0. My impression is that girls are way too traditional here and not that friendly/easy going, even though almost all of them openly told me that they were looking for foreign husbands as they did not like Uzbek men. They are not naive: they are looking for husbands, not for adventures with short-term foreigners. I am sorry to go against the enthusiastic reports by master mongers such as Prosal and others, but my advice is: if you are coming to Tashkent to fuck freebies and do not have 30+ days at your disposal or absolutely good contacts that you have already 'heated' before your arrival, better u go somewhere else. I notice Tashkent reports have gone quiet, so thought I would share my experiences from end July, early August. I am a bit slow I know. As my name of Grey Nomad suggests I am of the older generation- 60 plus, but have to say I had a great time in Tashkent at both Diplomat and Juliana's. A general view on this forum gives the impression Tashkent is difficult. My experiences have been very positive. I usually started with a quiet beer at the Diplomat bar observing the scene, making eye contact with several of the ladies. II have not been to Tashkent since September 2010, but there are places where you can find working girls or just find a regular girl who should be able to meet your requirements. For working girls, go to Diplomat club, that seems to be the best place for that sort of thing. 50 dollars is enough for the night. I first went to Diplomat in 2006 and you could pick up 7's to nearly 9's (on my scale) for 50 dollars all night. From what I saw this past September the quality has changed-is it just me or are women the world over getting fatter?
Tashkent is a great place if you know how to navigate. Go out and you will meet girls socially and if they like you they will fuck you-I tend to stay away from the Uzbek girls as they are difficult to fuck unless they are straight up working girls. Tashkent has some of the "high end" places like Peoples Evolution Bar, Chelsea, SMI, there is a new place that opened but I can't remember the name of it. If you are not social this option won't work for you.
This is one of the best countries to be a foreigner because you are instantly rich and you will have zero problems with police (unless you do something really fucked up). Girls are ready to have a good time, unemployment is high, take a girl or girls out to one of those bars spend a few hundred dollars, chose one you like, call her the next day and seal the deal. The women like little gifts, too. I gifted a girl two small bottles of Dior perfume and that did the trick. Bring some small things like that with you-it goes a long way.
As a side note, I have not read too many reports about the high number of "saunas" in Tashkent. Probably because you can not find them unless you have a good local connection to take you. I did, I have been to at least four saunas in and around Tashkent. I fucked a few hot chicks for 20, 000 soum, most are average but it gets the jobs done. After you add all the food and beer, towels, condoms (bring your own) , and fucking multiple chicks it cost around 150, 000 for 4 or 5 hours. Saunas are the best bargain in Tashkent, I used to go to the saunas at around 6pm, chill out and fuck the girls, eat local food and then go out and find freebies.

I have not been to Tashkent since September 2010, but there are places where you can find working girls or just find a regular girl who should be able to meet your requirements. For working girls, go to Diplomat club, that seems to be the best place for that sort of thing. 50 dollars is enough for the night. I first went to Diplomat in 2006 and you could pick up 7's to nearly 9's (on my scale) for 50 dollars all night. From what I saw this past September the quality has changed-is it just me or are women the world over getting fatter?
Tashkent is a great place if you know how to navigate. Go out and you will meet girls socially and if they like you they will fuck you-I tend to stay away from the Uzbek girls as they are difficult to fuck unless they are straight up working girls. Tashkent has some of the "high end" places like Peoples Evolution Bar, Chelsea, SMI, there is a new place that opened but I can't remember the name of it. If you are not social this option won't work for you.
This is one of the best countries to be a foreigner because you are instantly rich and you will have zero problems with police (unless you do something really fucked up). Girls are ready to have a good time, unemployment is high, take a girl or girls out to one of those bars spend a few hundred dollars, chose one you like, call her the next day and seal the deal. The women like little gifts, too. I gifted a girl two small bottles of Dior perfume and that did the trick. Bring some small things like that with you-it goes a long way.
As a side note, I have not read too many reports about the high number of "saunas" in Tashkent. Probably because you can not find them unless you have a good local connection to take you. I did, I have been to at least four saunas in and around Tashkent. I fucked a few hot chicks for 20, 000 soum, most are average but it gets the jobs done. After you add all the food and beer, towels, condoms (bring your own) , and fucking multiple chicks it cost around 150, 000 for 4 or 5 hours. Saunas are the best bargain in Tashkent, I used to go to the saunas at around 6pm, chill out and fuck the girls, eat local food and then go out and find freebies.

I. I can't for the life of me figure out how to explain to get to one of these saunas. One I frequented often was in a Korean neighborhood, I always go with some local guys whom I work with in Afghanistan. It's not legal, but if you have a local friend or contact they will most certainly know (even if they say they don't). I only remember this Korean neighborhood was no where near the center of the city-it was a good three miles from the city center directly off a main road. Sorry, man-wish I could do better with my information.
At night, there used to be working girls in Amir Timur park, but since the crazy Uzbek government cut down all the trees, they seem to have disappeared. I never picked one up-I actually felt sorry for some of those women.
Also, be careful at night if you are walking around with a local girl on the street. I was with a woman, who was not a working girl, they accused her of being a working girl took us to the police station and she had to have her brother come and get her. Forget taking a stroll to get fresh air, just take a taxi (this was at 02:30am).

Nonetheless even on slow nights you'll find Russian-ethnic WGs on site, some of them true cows, some of them stunning.

As you have been so helpful to me, so at least I want to share my Taschkent experiences with you.
Arriving at the airport by Korean was easy, no problems and a reletive fast service. Enough Taxies at the entrance and a short ride to downtown.
I stayed in Dedeman, central, clean, ok rooms, not a luxery icon but no complaints whatsoever. They charge you $ 30 for a guest, on the other side no problems to take this guest to your room.
I arrived in Diplomat to early (11. 00) , it will be busy around midnight. All the girls on the side of the bar are working. I paid too much ($ 100) for a rushed service by a 32 year old faked blonde, forgot her name, no need to remember.
You can just talk to every girl. The atmosphere is nice.
One thing, if you are new in town, it is not so easy to find the Diplomat club. It is on the same road like the main entrance to Dedeman Hotel (200 m) , but you have to turn right to a side road after the Toyota showroom and you will reach Diplomat after 50 meters.

Stuff I learned while in Tashkent:
1) If you do not have place to bring a gal back to (due to roommate, spouse, work, etc) , you're pretty much out of luck. There are practically zero massage joints, spas, or brothels that are easily accessible to foreigner, without a local connection.
2) Unlike most other countries, the taxi drivers and hotel bell boys are useless in hooking you up. Case in point: bell-boy at a 5-star hotel, after much cajoling, finally revealed the location of a local sauna, which he then hasten to add is illegal, and ill-advised for foreigners. He wrote a name down on a piece of paper, and confirm that any taxi driver would know it. After 25 minutes and 5000 som in a dingy taxi, I arrived in."Kadisheva". Yup, my helpful friend wrote down the NEIGHBOURHOOD where the sauna is, and expected me, a non-Turkic, non-Russian speaking tourist to be able to identify an underground joint on my own. Needless to say, the only action I got was another bumpy 25 minute ride back into the city proper.
3) Diplomat on a Tuesday night is a Bangkok dive filled with wreckage. Despite 3 beers and it being 1am, there wasn't anything above 5/10. About 20-25 women, and a bunch of disinterested Indian and Pakistani sex-tourists.
4) In Tashkent, it doesn't matter which side traffic is on. Your driver will drive on the side with the least amount of potholes. Be well insured!

But from your hotel, just stand by the road and stick your arm out. Eventually, a car will stop. That's a taxi. They're not licensed, or in any way marked as one, but from what I've been told, its pretty safe to get in. Anywhere within city proper shouldn't cost you more than 2000 soums as a tourist.

I just finished reading this thread; it has been a very interesting read.
I was born in Tashkent but lived my whole life in London. I come to Tashkent very frequently. I used to work as a photographer / agent for a few London escort agencies but fell out with management because they wanted me to photoshop their girls to extreme levels.

Was in tashkent recently and could feel that the city is changing day by day with lots of available chicks around. The issue for me was local language, which I do not speak at all.
Based on guidance received from few people, I went to a bar / disco by the name NIGARA, near ALISKY Bazar. We were pretty too early there as the girls start arriving only after 11 pm or so. During my 25-day stay in Tashkent, I had:

- I only got laid 13 out of my 25 nights in Tashkent (52%).

- 4 of the 8 LT girls left early morning, so there were only 4 true LTs.
The most telling statistic of any trip is the LT percentage. In Tashkent, it was an abysmal 32%. The true LT percentage was an even worse 16%.

Diplomat
Officially called Club Diplomat-S, Tashkent’s most publicized hooker disco is located on Navoiy Avenue, close to the Dedeman Silk Road. As the club is not visible from the street, some people may have trouble finding the place. Coming out of the Dedeman, turn right and walk until you spot a side street on the left (with ads on both corners). Diplomat is across from this street. You have to walk through the parking lot (full of taxis) to reach the club.
There are security guards by the entrance. I always whizzed past them, but Indians/Pakis were often stopped and had to show they had money to spend. There is no cover charge at Diplomat.
Walking up the stairs, you’ll reach the lounge area, with comfortable sofas and a few pool tables. Straight ahead (through the small corridor) is the restaurant. The club is to the right.
The small dance floor is surrounded by tables, which have a minimum consumption, and are only an option if you come with a group of friends. The club is pretty small, and can get crowded, especially on weekends.
The girls start trickling in after 11 PM. Diplomat is usually in full swing by 1 AM. It closes as early as 4 AM on slow nights, and as late as 5.30 AM on weekends.
Most of the girls in Diplomat are hoes, with a sprinkling of non-pros. A table with nothing but girls is a sign they’re not hoes... and most likely out of your league. The non-pros also tend to be babes, in shrill contrast to the decidedly average-looking hoes.
Last but no least, you should be aware that the Diplomat punters are the most obnoxious bunch of assholes on this planet. I had an altercation with a Paki blob trying to steal my girl. Regular visitors DirkDingy & Prosal got into fights with Indian/Paki monkeys. Also noteworthy is the fact that most of these turds are not foreign businessmen, but locals. Diplomat is also very popular with the Arab crowd. Westerners are a tiny minority.
Juliano
Tashkent’s second hooker disco, whose full name is Ramses & Juliano, is located in Bobur Park. It can be reached from either the Bobur St or the Bratislava St entrance.
The cover charge is 6.000 UZS. In front of the bar, you’ll find an area with small tables surrounded by bar stools. These “cheap seats” have no minimum consumption. The comfy sofas around the large dance floor do.
As in Diplomat, most of the girls are for hire. My research indicated that the quality in Juliano was lower than in Diplomat. I would strongly disagree! There were plenty of pretty damsels I would have loved to take for a spin. Alas, after offending Bonu on my very 1st night out in Tashkent, I wasn’t exactly popular in Juliano.
The punters in Juliano are mostly young Uzbeks, often with limited spending power. Juliano is also popular with local Turks. Westerners are a rare sight, little English is spoken and Juliano is definitely less Westerner-friendly than Diplomat.
Niagara
Niagara is close to the Oloy Bazaar, on the corner of Amir Temur St & Abdulla Qodiriy St. There is no cover charge.
With orange & green fluorescent rock walls, this nice club is very bright. It has 2 connecting dance floors, fronted by mirrors. As usual, the tables have a minimum consumption. The bar is all the way at the back.
Unlike Diplomat & Juliano, Niagara is not a hooker disco. On my 1st visit, the dance floor was full of young boys watching themselves in the mirror while practicing their dance moves. None of the pretty girls would return my smile. I was probably the oldest man in the club, and simply felt out of place.

Just about every Tashkent hoe will ask for... 100 dollarrrr. I love the way Russian speakers roll their R’s, especially at the end of words. So what does a crisp 100 USD bill buy you in Tashkent?
Instead of trying to negotiate a lower price, I strived to make sure the girls would stay the night. The problem was that many girls would receive a phone call early morning, either from their pimp/boyfriend or a worried family member. I hate morning wake-up calls when on holiday!
Another problem was that many girls insisted on being paid in advance. I hate that shit! But it actually stands to reason, considering the vermin these girls have to deal with.
To counter both of the aforementioned issues, I switched to offering the girls 50 USD per pop. If the girl insisted on being paid in advance, I’d put 50 USD in the nightstand drawer... just as I was about to jump her bones.
Since the girls are generally ready to leave the club as soon as a deal has been struck, another strategy would be:
- Strike an “all night” deal early.
- Take the girl to your room straight away.
- Get as many pops as you can.
- While partying in your room all night.
- Release the girl when the sun comes up.
Registration
When a girl joins you in your hotel room, she has to be registered. All Tashkent hotels will charge you for registering your guest. Judging from reports, the charge varies between 10 and 50 USD.
I didn’t want to deal with this hassle & extra cost, and stayed in an apartment, where girls could come & go without any need for registration.
When I visited Juliano with a fellow punter, one girl he talked to wouldn’t join him in his hotel... but he was welcome to fuck her at her place. Non-pros may also object to being officially registered... as hoes.

Ethnic Russians only make up 5,5% of the population (Wikipedia), but are very well represented in Diplomat. For my taste, Russian girls are more beautiful. They definitely have more diverse looks. You can even find yourself a blue eyed blonde.

The main ethnic groups in Tashkent are Uzbek, Tajik, Russian and... Korean! For your enlightenment, the Koreans were forcibly relocated to the region by Stalin in the 1930s.

From hookers to taxi drivers to security guards, I was asked if I was Pakistani or Turkish! How anyone could confuse me for a Paki is dumbfounding! Not to mention downright insulting.
So are Westerners popular in Tashkent? Well, unknown is often unloved. Not speaking Russian is a further handicap. In short, the simple answer is: “No!”
Having said that, there are girls who specialize in the Westerner market. Alas, they’re not exactly the youngest or prettiest girls!
Uzbek Mafia
Every night, there were a couple of Uzbek kids in Diplomat, who generally kept to themselves. But on a number of occasions, I spotted them dancing with a girl near closing time. The kid then accompanied the girl outside, ushered her into a fancy car, and walked off into the sunset...
One night, I witnessed the following scene in Diplomat. A girl is crying in the lounge area. A suspected mafia kid & a security guard are listening to her sob story. I don’t understand what she’s saying, but a bell rings when I hear these 2 key phrases: “Chekia” & “Nyet rabochi”. So the girl was Czech and she wasn’t a working girl. When the girl finishes her story, the security guard bi*ch slaps the mafia kid.
My interpretation: the Uzbek kids in Diplomat are low level representatives of the Uzbek mafia. When the kid spotted an unfamiliar face, he tried to shake her down for contributions. When the girl turned out to be a Czech tourist, he got slapped by the security guard.
The Tashkent hoes may be freelancers, but I’m convinced the Uzbek mafia gets their share of the spoils.
Final Words
If only Diplomat weren't crawling with Indian/Paki/Arab cockroaches. If only the Diplomat hoes didn’t have such fat asses. While Tashkent was a big disappointment, it actually does have great potential.
Uzbekistan is surrounded by countries harboring the most obnoxious people on the planet, who also happen to have a fetish for white meat. As long as they dominate the scene, Uzbekistan will never catch on as a Westerner’s P4P destination. And that’s a damn shame, as Tashkent is the most delightful of cities.

the flights between munich and tashkent were operated by privatair, which specializes in private charters, but also operates scheduled flights for regular airlines.
the business class section took up way more space than the economy section. with such a set-up, you have a decent chance of an upgrade. i got the bubbly!
i had a business class seat next to the emergency exit, with a fully reclining seat. after enjoying several glasses of champagne, we were shown the selection of entrées and main courses. no, not a description or a picture, but the actual meal.
to cut a long story short, i’ve never been so comfy or happy on a plane.
airport taxi
as i was staying at an apartment, the apartment owner picked me up at the airport. since his car had an accident, his friend was driving. i was charged a ridiculous 20 usd for the airport pick-up.
flagging down a taxi for the ride back to the airport, i paid just 6.000 uzs (less than 3 usd).
visa & registration
visa
i applied for my uzbek visa at the embassy in brussels. the visa fees depend upon the length of stay. i paid 80 eur for a 1 month tourist visa, by transferring the money into the bank account mentioned at the bottom of the page. i picked up my visa a week later.
to avoid problems with registration when staying in an apartment, you should apply for a business visa. for citizens of belgium (and 9 other countries), it seems as if a business visa does not have additional requirements or higher fees, compared to a tourist visa.
registration
your passport needs to be registered within 72 hours of your arrival in uzbekistan. if you’re staying at a hotel, you will be registered automatically. if you’re staying at an apartment, you must register in person at the local police department of registration.
staying at an apartment, and holding the wrong type of visa (tourist visa), getting the required registration turned out to be a nightmare!
contrary to expectations, my registration was not checked when leaving the country.

especially for longer stays, apartments are much cheaper than hotels. you get a much larger living space, with a separate living room and kitchen. you’ll have a big fridge, which you can stock full of food & booze. you can party with the girls in your apartment. you can invite as many girls as you can handle. no registration. no hassle. no extra charge.
staying in an apartment does have one drawback, though. the girls will often think you can’t afford a hotel. since most westerners in tashkent are business travelers staying in plush hotels, a sex tourist staying in an average apartment will look... poor! to impress the girls, you’ll need a fancy apartment.

my apartment
the rent was 50 usd/day or 600 usd/month. i rented the apartment for a month, and stayed for 25 days, so my daily rent was just 24 usd. taking into account the cost of my registration at the hotel hadra (180 usd) and my utilities bill (10 usd), my total accommodation cost was 790 usd or 31,6 usd/day. even though the registration was an expensive nuisance, that’s still pretty cheap.
as you can judge from the pictures, the apartment is adequate, but far from luxurious. when i asked the girls how much my apartment would fetch on the local market, the replies ranged from 200 to 300 usd. the girls were definitely not impressed with my accommodation! shakhina even warned other girls that my apartment was a dump. maybe i just fucked her too hard.
during summer, the main problem with the apartment is the heat. technically, the apartment is air-conditioned. there is an ac unit by the window. if you switch it on, it blows coldish air. but it’s simply not powerful enough to have any effect on the room temperature.
the main bedroom is in the middle of the apartment, has no ac and is impossible to cool down. it gets sweltering hot, so fucking tends to be a sweaty affair.
the apartment is located on mustaqillik avenue in the upscale darhan neighborhood. the korzinka supermarket across the street sells anything but alcohol. next door, you’ll find a liquor store & pharmacy. an internet shop is also nearby.

the market for rental apartments in tashkent is tiny. with demand often surpassing supply, securing an apartment reservation may prove difficult!

hotel hadra
i never even considered staying at a hotel in tashkent, and only mention the hotel hadra because that’s where i was officially registered. i wouldn’t recommend anybody stay there, as the place is a total & utter dump. what else can you expect for 18.000 uzs/day?
the lp site describes it as “the darkest hole in all of central asia”. they also mention it “doubles as a decidedly low-class brothel”. i wish i’d known that!
considering how awful the place was, i was surprised that smartly dressed local businessman stayed there. one westerner documented his stay on youtube.
food
kafe restaurant agat
agat is located on sayilgoh st, and is part of the zarafshan complex. it has a lovely outdoor setting by a fountain.
the tshurin meat (whatever that means) is absolutely yummy! it was so good i often ordered a double portion. the uzbek national dish is shashlik – delicately flavored meat-on-a-stick. since the service is damn slow, i recommend ordering soup as a starter, to cut down on the waiting time.
a great meal should only set you back around 5 usd.
yolki-palki
yolki-palki is a russian restaurant chain with a barnyard theme. st. petersburg is littered with them. in tashkent, you’ll find a yolki-palki on the corner of mustaqillik avenue & shahrisabz st.
they have an extensive menu. the service is lightning fast. you can order & devour a 3 course meal within 45 minutes! they also serve specialty beers, courtesy of the brauhaus next door.
how does pancakes with salmon, followed by beef with blueberry sauce and topped off by a tiramisu or black forest gateau sound? all that for around 10 usd. and yolki-palki is actually an expensive restaurant for tashkent standards!
contrary to most tashkent restaurants, prices do not include a service charge.
cafe opera
one day, while walking past, i decided to have a bite to eat at cafe opera outside the plush dedeman silk road. when i saw the menu, i realized i’d made a major blunder. the prices were ridiculous!
i ordered a coke (5 usd) and a club sandwich (12 usd). i got a pleasant surprise when i asked if i could pay in local currency, though. my bill was converted according to the official exchange rate of 1.600 uzs/usd, while the black market rate was 2.200 uzs/usd.
could you get the same 27% discount by paying your hotel bill in local currency, at the dedeman and other hotels?
transportation
taxi
any car is tashkent is potentially a taxi. having said that, most drivers that’ll stop & pick you up are professional taxi drivers, even if there’s no taxi sign on top. you’ll often see drivers stop to clean their car – taxis are generally kept immaculately clean.
the fares range from 1.000 uzs for short rides (apartment to yolki-palki) to 3.000 uzs for long rides (apartment to juliano). for most rides, i paid 2.000 uzs.
i refused to deal with the taxi mafia outside diplomat. they wouldn’t go anywhere for less than 3.000 uzs! i just walked to the main street to catch a taxi.
the taxi drivers outside juliano are much more reasonable. even though juliano was 3 times as far as diplomat, i had no trouble getting a ride home for 3.000 uzs.
metro
tashkent also has a metro system, with a fare of 600 uzs for any single journey. since police checks are reputedly frequent on the metro, i thought it wise to avoid the metro.

if you need a map of tashkent, check out the roadside book stalls on navoiy avenue. they sell large, detailed maps of tashkent, either with cyrillic or roman script. i paid 2.000 uzs for the english version.
btw, the official language of uzbekistan is uzbek, which is now written in the roman script. while some locals may have difficulty reading the street sings, it’s great for tourists. fyi, i consistently use the uzbek spelling for street names in my report.
currency
money changers
the currency of uzbekistan is the som (uzs). throughout my trip, i exchanged money at turkuaz mall in chorsu. the exchange rate was 2.200 uzs to the usd, and 2.700 uzs to the eur.
the money changer was in a fake travel agency called aviakassa (big sign, cyrillic script) or atlas travel (small sign; roman script), displaying a picture of an air uzbekistan plane.
the largest denomination is 1.000 uzs! a huge stack of cash containing 100.000 uzs, is only worth 45 usd.
according to prosal, counting the bills after making an exchange may offend money changers. i always checked when i returned to my apartment, and never found any discrepancy. uzbek money changers are honest.
atm machines
there are supposed to be atm machines at the intercontinental hotel & uzbekistan hotel.
i discovered an atm machine at the kapitalbank on sayilgoh st, which accepted maestro & mastercard. according to the security guard, it was open from 8 am to 5 pm.
understandably, atm machines only dispense usd. i was carrying plenty of cash and didn’t require atm machines.
customs
when you enter the country, you have to declare every single currency you’re carrying on the customs form (in duplicate). when leaving, you have to declare how much you have left. they do check the before & after figures, and will confirep001e any undeclared currencies.
sim card
since it’s less hassle to buy a sim card for a local, the apartment owner bought my sim card on his passport. the mts sim card cost 13.500 uzs, including 9,25 usd credit. the sim card does not work straight away. you need to wait until you receive an sms, which takes about an hour.
laundry
i had a washing machine and an ironing board in my apartment, so i was able to do my own laundry.
climate
tashkent has a mediterranean climate, with long, hot summers and short, but cold winters.
during my summertime visit, daytime temperatures rose as high as 35°c (95°f), but since it was a dry heat, it didn’t feel that hot. even during long daytime walks, i barely perspired. at night, temperatures dropped to a pleasant 20°c (68°f). the perfect summertime climate!
safety
the men in green (militzia) are omnipresent in tashkent. during the daytime, there seemed to be a couple of cops every hundred yards or so along mustaqillik avenue. their raison d’être seemed to be stopping the traffic when a vip had to drive past. nobody was allowed to cross the street and you couldn’t see a car for miles. totally weird!
the police tend to leave foreigners alone. i was never stopped or checked.
the huge police presence means there is virtually no street crime, making tashkent one of the safest cities in the world. you can safely walk around any time, day or night.

tashkent is a city of wide tree-lined avenues, where the traffic never seems to get stuck. it’s a green city with plenty of parks & fountains. the climate is perfect to walk around and discover the diverse architecture. tashkent is well & truly a delightful place to be!

Passport Registration
When you travel to Uzbekistan, your passport needs to be registered within 3 days of your arrival. If you’re staying at a hotel, you will be registered automatically and free of charge. If you’re staying at an apartment, you must register in person at the Local Police Department of Registration (OVIR in Russian).
Rental Contract
The owner of my apartment was an elderly Russian man called Ernest, who spoke little English. He came to my apartment early morning, with 2 copies of the apartment rental contract for me to sign (1 in English; 1 in Russian).
The rent I actually paid was 600 USD for a month. The contract mentioned a rent of just 245.000 UZS (111 USD at the time). The next paragraph read: “The agreement of the price is an important condition of this contract and a concealment of the real price of the rent is fraught with consequences.”
Police Department
After walking up a few flights of stairs, Ernest joined the queue. I took a seat at the back, and watched the proceedings. It took Ernest about half an hour to take care of business, after which we went down one floor to the director’s office. He still needed to approve my registration.
It took about 15 minutes before it was our turn. After a quick glance at Ernest’s paperwork, the director’s response was: “Tourists should stay at a hotel!” Ernest tried to argue. To no avail. Passport registration refused!
When I applied for my Uzbek visa at the embassy in Brussels, I clearly stated I would be staying in an apartment. If I wasn’t allowed to stay in an apartment on a tourist visa, they shouldn’t have granted me a tourist visa. But they did!
I didn’t have the opportunity to argue my case. The director didn’t speak a word of English. A total buffoon holding an exalted position! Typical for a military dictatorship.
The passport registration was supposed to cost around 40 USD. Of course, we never made it to the cashier. If successful, you come back to pick up your passport 2-3 days later.
Business Visa
I figured the passport registration would be a formality. I figured Ernest would have experience with passport registrations. I couldn’t have been more wrong!
Ernest’s son used to take care of passport registrations. He’d now emigrated to Russia. Ernest should have known and told me I required a business visa to stay at an apartment. He was totally clueless!
Hotel Hadra
Ernest talked to the manager of the Hotel Hadra, a high-rise apartment block opposite the Sirk (Circus). They would have been happy to handle my registration, had we come straight to them. But after Ernest explained that my registration had been refused, they got scared.
Hotel owners face a fine of 2.000 USD for registering a person who isn’t actually staying there. Since the police knew about my denied registration, they could check the place where I registered, suspecting I wouldn’t actually be staying there. That would be especially true for such a cheap hotel, where few foreigners ever stay.
Chez Ernest
We walked to Ernest’s nearby house, so he could confer with his friends to try and find a solution. While Ernest was off to visit another nearby hotel, his wife kept talking to me in Russian. I didn’t understand a word, until a bell rang when I heard a familiar word: Cauchemar is both French and Russian for nightmare!
Hotel Sayokhat
I’d told Ernest we needed to find a cheap tourist hotel. As soon as I saw the Hotel Sayokhat, I knew it was totally the wrong kind of place – an upscale business hotel.
The manager wanted to charge me 16 USD/day to handle my registration, reduced to 14 USD/day when they found out I was staying for 25 days. When Ernest was stupid enough to explain my situation in more detail, they got scared as well, and insisted I actually stay at the hotel. No fucking way!
I simply stormed out! Ernest’s utter stupidity was a liability. I was livid!
Backpacker Hotel
I figured I needed to go to a backpacker hotel – on my own. I could simply explain that I was staying in an apartment, and needed a hotel to handle my registration. Of course, I wouldn’t be stupid enough to divulge my passport registration had been turned down.
I had to find an Internet shop. The Lonely Planet site would surely have information about backpacker accommodation in Tashkent.
Sex Tourist
When Ernest joined me outside, he offered to refund the rent, if I was willing to check into a hotel.
I came clean with Ernest. I was a sex tourist! I was in Tashkent for one reason only: to party & fuck. There was no bloody way I would stay at a hotel, where the girls had to be registered. I’d rather change my plane ticket and simply go home! After fucking one local beauty, of course!
Danger Money
Ernest called Hotel Hadra again, and asked if I would be willing to pay for a room there – about 6 USD. When we got there, the room charge was actually 18.000 UZS (over 8 USD). For 22 days, the fake registration would cost me 396.000 UZS (180 USD) in danger money. Bloody expensive, but at least it was a way out of the impasse.
Registration Slips
I returned to the Hotel Hadra the next day, and left behind some toiletries & clothes to make my room look inhabited.
Paying for the full 22 days, I expected to receive my registration for the full 22 days. But they would only give me a registration slip for the next 2 days. WTF?
I called Ernest and ordered him to come over. The idiot didn’t understand, so I had to call him again. When Ernest finally showed, he explained that the hotel would only register me for a couple of days at a time!
I wasn’t about to waste time & money travelling to and from the Hotel Hadra every other day! As it was walking distance from his house, I told Ernest he should pick up my registration slips.
Throughout my trip, I changed money at the nearby Turkuaz mall. While I was in the neighborhood, I picked up the latest registration slips from Ernest. I wasn’t always carrying a current registration slip. I really didn’t care. I’d had enough of this registration bullshit!
Don’t Worry, Be Happy
Ernest was still worried. He too faced a fine of 2.000 USD, if they ever found out I was staying at his apartment without being registered there. Ernest told me never, under any circumstances, to open the door if anyone knocked. Of course, nobody ever knocked on my door.

I went to Tashkent on 20th August for a period of 5 days and 04 nights with my cousin and 17 other guys who were strangers to me before going there but after reaching we all realized that everyone is there for mongering and nothing else. First of all I would say whatever is written here about the safety in Uzbekistan its true. Girls in Tashkent were quite but there was dramatic change in the country side.
1 USD = 2151 Soums (Official Rate)
1 USD = 2700 Soums (Black Market Rate)
There is big communication gap in Tashkent due to very few people understanding English. We had tour guides who could explain things in English which made things easier for us. But still girls didn't understand much and we had to negotiate with them by typing the amounts in mobile. Due to communication gap and loads of booze I felt I paid extra at a lot of places.
1st Day / 1st Night.
After reaching there in afternoon, went out with my cousin and his gf there. This was my cousin's second visit to that place so he knew a girl there already. His gf had a friend with her for me, named Zarina. Dinner, drinking etc etc and then its 0100 am in the night. This gf takes us to an apartment where we paid $60 for the night. The apartment had one room and a hall. Room was taken by my cousin leaving us with the hall where there is no bed just a thin mattress. The girl was a total GFE for me with loads of DFK, DATY and cuddling etc. Only issue was CBJ. 3 straight shots with her. Morning and the day time was as usual sightseeing etc. Evening had the same dinner, vodka and belly dance show for us. After dinner we 5 guys proceeded to Fabrique, one of the most happening Discs of Tashkent according to locals. One by One 3 guys went with 3 girls. All of them for 100$ a night. Some of the girls had apartments of their own but if you get a girl without apartment then you have to shell out 50$ extra for it.

1. I can give you the taxi guys no. Who used to take us to Farmhouse, taxi guy who took me to those apartments though I will not recommend him as he tried to cheat me and then I have Zarina's no. 2. Take USD. I could hardly see any ATMs etc and I advise you to take enough cash and not rely on credit cards etc.
3. I never advise to go bareback and I don't have the necessary info regarding disease there but they are on lower side I assume. There are medical shops which are called "Doxiderma" not sure of the name but it was kinda similar to it. These shops are open 24hrs. In my case I thought since they are WGs they must have condoms also, guess I was wrong. So take yours.
4. Don't worry there are plenty of good girls there.
5. Big group actually rocks, the taxi driver who takes you to brothels etc will be very delighted to see such a group and might bring down the price also. Once we got to the outside of her apartment (we were outside, not in the building) , she asked me to give her the money so she could pay her landlord or something in advance (I couldn't understand everything because she was speaking everything in Russian) and that as soon as she paid she would get the keys and we could go up to her apartment on the 3rd floor. She asked me to wait outside, and while she entered the open-air building and *pretended* to knock on the door of her landlord, she disappeared with my money. I didn't chase her for fear that some thug would be waiting with a 2 by 4, so I left. I should have heeded the warning signs and trusted my instinct that something was not right, but at least I'm the wiser for the experience. And also be careful visiting saunas. Police have stepped up raids at these places, and the ones in the city proper get raided almost daily.

Indian guys are on big group tours for shopping (?) , drinking and sex shows. And the Koreans stay in the Karaokes and spend heavy on corporate account. One evening I got invited: 5 in our group and the bill was 1000-$ plus but no takeout!Yes, regarding the airlines to Tashkent you are limited with options and most of them are not cheap but it depends a lot from where are you coming.
You definitely made a very wrong choice with a hotel. There are lots of very affordable and comfortable hotels there starting from 50$ and more.
Koreans have their own understanding of values. Standard Karaoke scene where they just have fun with girls while drinking, spend lots of money, got drunk and sleep alone. There are lots of places dedicated to this segment and they come there just to play affordable Golf and visit those dedicated places. But all of them are very from from reality (pricing, girls, food, drinks.)

In general the price per shot is low and may start even from 15-20$. But surely you won't find a good option for that price.
Most of the places are targeted for locals, but have very nice choice for around 30$-40$. The problem is that most of them do not speak any English, so you will need some support of locals. But trust me its easy to find a very good choice during a day and before midnight. Later you have to visit night clubs.

There are hidden opportunities if you there anyway. And that I like to explore on my next visit once the winter is over.
