I have been following these threads for years, but the post below was so useful I thought I must now sign up and contribute. If you want to go down market, there are hundreds of fake barber shops and tam quats where you can get a BBBJ on a grubby massage bed, and the girl will let you play with her. However, when I am happy after a nice session with a regular I tip a lot more. 500 and up. It's worth it. The girl is happy, and then next time she makes even more of an effort.

I just finished up an extended stay in Hanoi and thought I'd pass this one.
For the short-term monger, Hanoi is tough. I suggest you do it the expensive way and go to the Fortuna, but it'll cost you $200 all night with peripheral expenses. Or do it the medium way and go to Nutz at the Sheraton where you'll pay $50 short-term or all night. Or do it the cheap way and visit a proven high-end men's massage parlor, but then you'll just get HJ for $20-30. If you're in town for a few nights and do not know locals who can guide you, your options are limited. I don't do the low-end places, so I can't comment on those.
If you go to the Fortuna, make sure you ask the Mamasan only to bring around the women who will do sex. Some only entertain guests in the Karaoke rooms. There are cheaper karaoke bars with pretty women but it's very hard to navigate them without local Vietnamese friends. As a foreigner on your own, I don't recommend you try on your own. The easiest option are the men's massage parlors, but you have to know where the best talent is. It tends to change from time to time. For a while, I was going to the massage parlor of the Bao Som Hotel. 50 Nguyen Chi Thanh. Massage 200, 000 and most girls will generally be up for a meeting at a later time, just exchange cell numbers. I usually tipped 200, 000 for good service and 50, 000-100, 000 for mediocre service. However, over the past year, talent has deteriorated at that place. I also don't like wearing the shorts.

I found an interesting little place on Dong Tac the other day. Drive along Pham Ngoc Thach until you get to the traffic lights near to where the star bowl used to be. Turn left at the lights and you'll see a sign advertising massages on the right, follow the sign down an alley about 30m down the road.
The place is definitely for the locals. Ticket price was 100k VND. Had a quick shower in a grotty little cubicle and then put on the massage shorts and was led to the room. The room was reasonable, aircon split between two rooms and a fan. The door to the massage room has a small window in it, so only HJs are possible.
The woman that serviced me was on the larger side, but had a nice big pair of boobs. Drove past there today. Seems 109 is a local looking place. 129 is Annam Spa and looks relatively upmarket. Either not promising or promising with a price tag. Actually, there seems to be a number of options to explore on Nghi Tam and Au Co. Good Autumn / Winter project.

Although cliche, I am a long long time lurker first time poster. I thought it's about time I gave something back to the community.

In the end he had no idea and dropped me (luckily) right near it. I had to deduce it from signs nailed onto posts, it's pretty clear once you get close. This taxi ride cost 70k VND, obviously ripped, but around 2. 5 who cares really.

Thanks.I get to Pham Van Dong by driving along the dyke road (An Duong Vuong) and then turning left into Tan Xuan just as you pass under the Thang Long bridge over the river. You then turn right when Tan Xuan intersects with Pham Van Dong. You then need to go along Pham Van Dong and make a U-turn at the first break in the dividing barrier and head back the way you came. And you will find 237 after 100 metres or so. If you get to a petrol station after doing your U-turn, then you have already gone past it.
If that's too tricky to explain to a taxi driver, then just get him to let you out at the intersection and walk up the road against the flow of traffic, it'll only take a few minutes to walk it, and probably makes it a little easier to spot the places too.
There were definitely a few places before 237, after doing your U-turn, I couldn't say with any certainty if there are any places after 237. I've put a Google maps link below to help you with my directions. Best of luck, let us know how you get on.

To avoid confusion between the places I described and the ones Casey is talking about, mine are not Tam Quats or any other sort of massage places. At this end of Pham Van Dong they are just private residences or other non-descript buildings with no signage whatsoever to identify them; hence my having to give a rather detailed description of how to get there and giving the number. And just as a heads up, please be aware that these places tend to be a little bit grotty and dingy; you'll definitely be slumming it in terms of conditions, but to me that just adds to the fun of it a bit.
If you are going there at night, your life should be made a little easier in finding this place in that the girls will be more likely to actively wave you inside. In this case it appears pretty simple. Go into Google Maps and type "To Ngoc Van, Hanoi" into the search bar (without the quotation marks) and the correct road will pop up. You will then see in the map heading upwards a road running between two lakes called "Ngo 52". Ngo basically means "alley" or "side-street" in Vietnamese, I think it is this "Ngo 52" that Joffre is suggesting that you cruise down to find the action. I haven't been there myself yet, so can't comment on the services.
As a general rule when using Google Maps, at least in Hanoi, never try putting in a number as you will never get an accurate result because the numbering of properties and alleys etc. Is completely screwed up. Find the road you want, try to get some pointers as to where on the street the place you are looking for is, and then just head out there and keep a close eye out for numbers as you drive by.

hanoi, i must say, has been spoilt with foreigners and tourists willing to pay and paying more than adequate and hence, the prices have gone up accordingly over the last few years. but this inordinate pricing still seems to be kinda restricted to places that are talked about on isg and famous among the expats.
just a few examples. a place like sakura or kingston charges vnd 450k for a vip massage and the girls demand anything between vnd 300k-500k for a hj. a similar establishment on nguyen chi thanh or nguyen khang, cau giay (parallel to duong lang) or nguyen thi thap (behind grand plaza hotel) offers similar vip services for vnd 200k-300k (60-90 min jacuzzi, sauna, hj, bj) and a standard 200k tip is more than sufficient to keep the girls happy and willing to do more later. that's half the price dear friends and the best part about these establishments. no girl talks about money the whole time unless you are paying them less which makes it a much better experience than any of the sakuras and kingstonss.

next top club at grand plaza hotel. same as above except this is one of the best nightclubs in hanoi among whatever this city has to offer for nightlife. service is much better than new square, fantastic leds all over and very pretty waitresses and hostesses. good place for an expensive night.
local ktv at nguyen chi thanh, duong lang, bui thi xuan. preferred with locals though i have done it all by myself as well. you go in, check the price per hour (usually 200k-300k per hour) , check the price of beer (usually 50-70k) and grab a room. then they call up the girls and get them lined up for you. choose what you like. one, two, three, all you can afford, they start opening up the beer, ask them to take away all fruits and snack packets and just keep what you need or trhey will be emptied without anyone eating them, sing or listen to them sing while you have fun, roaming and kissing allowed and a little more depending on what the gir (s) think of you and finally take them back for usd 50 for st or vnd 1 million or give them a tip of 200k and go home and sleep.
local ktv at nguyen van cu. these are right across the chuong duong bridge over the red river. lots of them but best to veture with locals. it can get pretty wild here with the girls dancing naked and almost an orgy there. take them to an adjacent motel if you want for about 300k-500k st. total expense about 800k per person for a group of 5. with the right company, these can turn out to be some of the best times you've had in hanoi.

street walkers at tran khanh du (very close to oasis 2) , nguyen chi thanh (near the big crossing) , nguyen khanh toan (across the highway from pham ngu lao) , duong boi, etc. sometimes good ones as well but usually 5 pointers. cost. 400k-500k st. they will take you to a nearby hotel or take them back to your place.

It really depends what you want, but your hotel is reasonably centrally located. Don't know anything about the spa at your hotel but would be surprised if there was anything on offer. You can find your hotel on Google Maps by searching for; Movenpick hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam. I'd suggest picking out the spots you like the sound of from previous reports and see where they are on the map in relation to you, but realistically most places shouldn't be more than 20 minutes max away in a taxi with the exception of Pham Van Dong, which I wouldn't bother with as a tourist.

Fortuna and Hanoi Hotel seem expensive with 150$ LT and 100$ ST. If you add additional costs for hotel overnight (ofcourse if you do not have a room at these hotels) , then it ends up being close to 200$ LT which is huge. They don't budge on the costs, did not agree for 100$ LT.
Any information where I can find 100$ LT with nice collection of girls to choose from.
Nutz was an option but it really sucks, the girls there are really old and mostly those who wander outside on their bikes. You can get these girls at less than 50$ LT in some other area. It is just the location premium they are charging. Also, Nutz is closed down until New Year's.
What about the other small bars around the city? Any bars which are not inside some big hotel like Fortuna, but you can easily finds girl for LT there. And it would be better if it is structured as in you have a collection to choose from.

Unfortunately Hanoi simply doesn't have the set-ups that they have in HCMC. I've never tried Fortuna myself, but your experiences sound in line with what everyone else reports. And as far as I know, Fortuna is the only place in Hanoi that has a proper system set up. Nutz is the only other bar known of in Hanoi where a large number of working girls can be found and are tolerated.
Your prices too are pretty much on the mark. Fortuna and Nutz have their location premiums, but that said, it will be difficult to find decent girls with a basic command of English that will go for less. There are areas to head in the city where you can get ST for as little as 500k VND, but not everyone is satisfied with the quality of the girl they will get for that price or the conditions they will be in while doing the deed.
I have a contact for a girl that fluent in English and she wouldn't go for much less than 3M ST and 4M LT and then you have to provide the location yourself.
To be honest Hanoi is a sellers market when looking for quality and you either have to stick that or lower your standards.
A lot also depends on whether you are a visitor or expat, how easily you can get around (ie do you have a motorbike) , and whether or not you have your own place to host.
There is also the suggestion that some people here have of taking the time to cultivate a relationship with a girl via something like The New Hanoian website. But that will take time and cost money and probably would total up more than you are spending at somewhere like Fortuna, with no guarantees at the end of it. Personally this has never been a route I have considered; I prefer to keep it all on a strictly business level to remove the complications of relationships that will inevitably ensue.
Like I say, you are not going to find what you are looking for here in Hanoi. All I can suggest is read back through the forum and see if any of the experiences of mine or others piques your interest and give them a go or ask for more info.

One thing I would like to add is, that I never saw Hanoi Hotel being named that much here. I think it is much better option than Nutz. Also, it is quite better than Fortuna in the aspect that you just go, talk to mamasan, pick up a girl for the night.
