Guys,

as FG is neighbouring to Suriname...I know some things.
1) FG is very expensive and the currency there is the EURO.
2) people speak FRENCH....and english knodledge is very basic or not present at all...!!
3)FG women are NOT into prostituting themselves because the situation is fairly ok there. Like in many other countries Ho's are from DR,Colombia,Brasil....
4) FG is very HARD to reach....only from paris airport against PRICEY tickets.....
5) their capital has no nightlife which can stand the test with other cities in SA.

Please if somebody has more info let us know!!!!!

Johan.

Thanks Johan!

At least we all know now, that travelling to FG for mongering only is not worth it!

Thanks!

Some tips if you find yourself in Kourou:

Most any evening, you'll find BSW's hanging out around the intersection of Avenue de Roches and Victor Hugo. A few also hang around the Bar de Sports near the Post Office. They're not very shy and will make "kissing noises" to try to get your attention as you drive by. Some are TG's so be careful if that's not what you're looking for.

No strip clubs or massage parlors in this small town so if you want to find a girl for the evening you'll have to go to Old Town and do some old fashioned wining and dining.

Old Town is where the action is. The Avenue du General de Gaulle runs south from a traffic circle and is the location of most of the night clubs. This is where the night life hangs out. There's not much activity until midnight so you'll have to adapt your schedule. As you go south on the avenue, look for a bar named "Saxxon" on the left or a pool hall on the right a block or two further down. Those are good places to find a hook up for the evening.

There's also another club down the end of Rue Francois Thomas, on the northwest part of town. It's by a small lake and located under a french restaurant.

The girls are friendly so invite them over for a game of pool, buy them a drink or two and make some small talk. The locals don't make much money here and are more than willing to show their appreciation in intimate ways if you're willing to be a little generous, buy them some drinks and drive them around.

The french foreign legion is here too and occassionally they can get rowdy like any place that has a military base in town. You're on their home turf so keep that in mind when you go around partying.

Gentlemen:

I will be arriving in Kourou on Tuesday, March 25, for two nights. I will be on a tour of Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana arranged by Dagron Tours in Georgetown, Guyana: http://www.dagron-tours.com/. It's called the 3 Guianas Budget Tour and lasts 8 days; cost $2500, not including international air fare. Rather steep for such a short time, I think, but I could find only one other tour going to these 3 countries, and it was far more expensive, and the Dagron tour is still cheaper than going on my own. In some ways it is a shitty tour in that it involves 2 nights in Kourou and doesn't go to Cayenne at all. The French Guiana portion of the tour will focus primarily on Devil's Island and the space center. This will not be a primarily a mongering tour; I am going because these are the only 3 mainland countries in the Western Hemisphere that I haven't visited. However, I am always open to mongering when I can, and toward this end I have a few questions of those who have mongered in French Guiana.

I have read the entire French Guiana forum--what there is of it--and have come to the following conclusions:
--French Guiana is the pits as far as mongering is concerned. This is especially true of Kourou. All that seems to be available in Kourou are streetwalkers. There are clubs with non-pros, but I probably won't have time for that.
--Cayenne seems to be not much better. The only posts I could find recommended clubs and discos for finding non-pros. Again, no time for that.
--There don't seem to be any brothels, massage parlors, or escort services in the entire country.

So, here are my questions:
--Is there any new information regarding prostitution other than SWs? Have any brothels, massage parlors, or escort services opened in either Cayenne or Kourou? Or should I just forget mongering and do it somewhere else?
--Is Cayenne worth visiting, even for non-mongering activities? I would hate to visit a place and not see the capital. Would it be worth my while to rent a car just to drive to Cayenne, or would that just be a waste of time and money?
--No one has mentioned the ethnic composition of FG, and I can't find this in guidebooks. Is it mostly black and East Indian like Guyana and Suriname, and would an old white guy stand out.

Thanks in advance for your help. In the unlikely event that I do monger in FG, I promise a post and photos, if possible.

It seems that you have missed a key information: French Guyana isn't a country, it's a part of France with French laws. There are no such things as brothels, massage parlors etc... in France. There is no escort service in Frnech Guyanna. However, this doen't mean you there is nothing to monger, one third of population is Brazilian. Just go to a nightclub and you will meet as much Brazilian girls as you want who have the same sexual behaviour as in Brazil.

Cayenne is not the kind of place that is worth travelling 6000 km. But from Kourou it's just a 60km drive, so unless you have something better to do, why not? I would not spend the night in Kourou, Cayenne has much more opportunities to offer. You should indeed rent a car, best way to visit French Guyanna.

As I explained previously, one third of poulation is Brazilian. Another third is black and the rest is white or asian. Don't worry, you will not be the only white guy in the country, there are no ethnic tensions between the different communities and again you are in France and in the EU.

Routard,

Thanks for the feedback. I knew FG isn't an independent country and is an overseas department of France, but I couldn't think of the right word to use. Territory? Department? I was using the word 'country' loosely, not in a literal sense.

I haven't been to France since 1971, but I am astonished to hear you say that there are no brothels there. You probably mean no legal brothels, don't you? Surely there are brothels in cities like Paris and Marseilles? I vividly remember hookers standing in doorways near Pigalle, attempting to lure customers, so prostitution is quite open in some parts of Paris. I just assumed there might be something similar to Pigalle in Cayenne, but I guess not.

I have no choice about spending the night in Kourou--two in fact--because that's what the tour provides. I think I'll rent a car, drive to Cayenne, and if I find a girl to monger with, either go to her room or find a temporary room, then drive back to Kourou. Thanks again for responding.

There are no brothels in France since 1946. What you have seen in France in 1971 is street action. Since 2003 and Sarkozy's law against prostitution, even street action is hard to find in France.

To Lorenzo

I hope that you will not have too much rain during your stay and that you like Devil's Island an the visit to the space centre. Maybe you will see the next launch.

For girls, in Kourou there are semi.pros in the "Vieux Bourg" in the early evening (before midnight) at "Relais du vieux Bourg" bar or near post at "Bar des sports". After midnight they will all be at the "Vieux monmartre (night club)" or the "saxo (night club)" in the "Vieux Bourg" or at "cliberton (night club)" near the hotel "ATLANTIS"

OPus33,

Thank you for the information. This is VERY helpful, since I will be staying in Kourou. I will almost certainly have to go before midnight, since I'll be getting up early for the tours. I hope semi-pro means what it usually does, which is part time pro. :) I'm undoubtedly old enough to be their father by half again, so I doubt that they'd go with me for any other reason than money. I'll keep you posted.

There was a documentary a few weeks ago. Girls in Cayenne clubs are mostly Brazilians, with some Surinamese, Dominicanas and Guyanese as well. Prices were quoted at EUR 100-200, which is what the customers from mainland France are willing to pay.

My Spanish is pretty good, but that probably won't help much will it? Are there many / any English speakers there? I am planning a trip there next year, but wanted to find out a little more about where to go to find some companionship and not get rolled. Near the space complex, p'raps?

Thanks,

Pyy

PyyMost of the girls will speak little or poor French, as they are not locals. You're better off with English (Guyanese, Surinamese) or Portuguese / Spanish (for the Dominicanas / Brazilians). The closer you get to the space complex, the more expensive things will get, including pussy (lots of bored, European space technicians). The closer you get the Surinamese or Brazilian border, the cheaper it gets.

ThanksI was there less than a week ago. It is very lousy there for this hobby. It is also expensive there for just about everything. A decent burger for lunch and drink was about 25 Euros both times I had that, and more than 20 Euros for the Vietnamese restaurant. It is a lousy place. Look up videos on YouTube. Walking Around Cayenne, French Guiana. Someone coincidentally posted videos when I was there.
