Be sure to be prepared for hot, humid weather. For some of us northern hemisphere residents, adjusting to the heat can be a "comfort" challenge. It is true from previous postings a go between is probably the best option for potential encounters, just try to come prepared with some basic Spanish language skills. It seems to be the best way to create a relaxed, enjoyable way to meet someone in the city and just for conversation's sake. No single travelers there don't want to be alone without a friendly female for companionship. I am planning to make my fourth visit to Iquitos in December, and though I plan to meet a lovely female friend there, I have no idea what else may possibly happen during my 5 day visit. It would be great to meet some of the regular posters to this city. Thanks to everyone whose postings I have enjoyed reading here.

Got back from Peru today. Compared to the weather there, I am trying to adjust to the "cold" here. Couple things. Spent three days in Iquitos. Here is what I can share. The first night there I managed to get ideas from a Mototaxi driver and a night security person at my hotel. There is a strip club called "Al fin manoso. " I don't know the address, you can tell the taxista that it is near the Stadium Max Agustin. (I don't know the exact spelling). The building from the outside looks like a house completely without windows. I got there a little after midnight and there were mototaxis out front. The driver was nice enough to check to see if there is any problems with a foreigner like me to enter. No problem. There is a s /10 charge (about $3. 33 US). Walk in and it has a strip club ambiance with the circular stage in the center and the bar on the right and the left side looks to what seems like a wading pool there. I noticed several chicas with some of the customers, and since I don't speak Spanish that well, I decided to sit at the bar. Bottles of beer for about s /10 soles, large bottles (Jaras) about s /15 if I remember correctly. Some of the chicas came by the bar and it was possibly an invitation for company. I had to ask the bartender what the deal is with having company and I think it was buying a drink for the lady about s /30 (about $10.00 US).
Company would cost about s /30 ($10.00 US) for about 30 minutes. Whether there are other benefits involved I don't know, so I stuck to sucking on my beers. The club stays open till 5 am and your mileage will vary depending on how fluent your Spanish language skills are.
The next day the hotel staff seems to be open enough to recommend talking with the night security person for finding a "acompana." he knew one of the neighbors on the block and he was nice enough to find a chica for me. She would be able to come to the hotel and he advised that one hour offer s /50 soles (about $16.00 US) or "todo el noche " at s /100. In brief, it was a good session, we spent a little time chatting over agua, we spent about 2 hours I a ended up spending s /100. And the sucker that I am, she wanted about s /70 for "ropas why camisa. " so total s /170. Later I did talk to the security person and told him was I paid, he reacted with some silence, and I tried to at least explain I was satisfied because she has an affectionate personality and was open to different acts in la cama. I did see her the next evening and we had a light meal and later spend another two hours in bed but this time I paid s /50. Perhaps being with the dama more than once helps to keep the cost reasonable. Maybe I will occasionally talk with her since I have her number.
Seems like s /50-s /100 is a good figure to use when negotiating time with a lady.
That's my thoughts. (thanks to Festiero for keeping the Iquitos blog going, I sure like this place despite the heat.) I like the passion that the chicas display (at least the onces I have met).

Will be in Iquitos for a week starting 1 Feb. Anyone else going to be in town?
I arrived to Iquitos after near three weeks in Lima, to find it was actually cooler (temperature-wise) in the Jungle, than in the big city I had just left.
Go figure.
I had an extremely hot and "roller coaster" of a vistit to Lima, and I was happy to get back to where it feels more like home. Where I could just chill with friends, see all the amazing sights, smells and flavors this little city has to offer. In Lima I got down to 92 kilos. By the time I left, I was 95! In 14 freaking days! I love the food there!
4 I arrived to my usual haunt, a bargain of a little Hospedaje, after my 8 sole taxi ride into town. It is a CLEAN, air conditoned, triple room, within 2 minutes walk of the Plaza de Armas. Where they know my ways and could not care less. (Even when I had a puker on the bed this time, first in a looooong time, their only concern was that I was not sick or needed a doctor) And they even discount my room, because I am very quiet and respectful. For 50 soles per night it is, as we say, like a sore dick. Hard to beat.
On the way in, my taxi driver proved to be a transplant from Chicalayo, conversant in English to a certain degree, and very curious and amiably chattering away, about his adventures so far living there, and of course I ask him how many GF's he had? And he said "many" Haha. Would I be interested in meeting some nice girls during my visit? Of course, meeting girls is never too difficult, once you get the hang of the place, but I almopst never turn down someone who wants to help. I stated my target age range to be 20-30. Non pros or semi pros, and particularly single moms needing a little help. I also stated that, in general, I'd rather masturbate to porn than go to a Chongo, or go with a SW. My preference. He said, that there are lots of single moms around, but with no way to meet up with men who want to help them. He explained that Iqutios is alot like like a small town. Everyone is into everyone elses business. So they are shy. My reply was that is sounded like a biz op. For him! Anyway, I kept his number telling him that I would be intereted to see what he came up with.
The point is, don't overlook the taxi guys and the hotel front desk guys, they can be your very best friends; especially when the prospect of their making a nice referral propina is in the offing. Hint: I have never stayed at the xxxxxxxx Hotel on the Plaza, but when I went in to ask to change my flight on Avianca a couple of trips ago, (Avianca is in the lobby) I met the stunning and very sweet girl at the counter. I asked her to dinner, but she politely declined, because her husband might not like that. But that her best friend loved to go out and she is even cuter than me, etc. (ahhhh! The "never ending chain", as a good friend once said to me- makes Peru so special) Anyway, on my way out, the front desk guy, assuming I was another gringo guest, commented to me about how gorgeous the Avianca girl is and would you be looking for some companionship for the evening? Etc. I said "possibly". (since I wasn't really a guest) Would it be too much to ask for two girls for the evening? Haha. He said that would be no problem. Of course I never did get to try that there, but it taught me that the hotel is girl friendly to the point of finding them for you, and that Never count your front desk guy out. He wants to make a little, but the rewards can be, well. Rewarding!
Then back to the hotel, settled in, checked messages, then out for a walk around to view the two legged scenery and get a bite to eat. Two blocks to Aris Restaurant on the corner and while standing there to get my 2 sole soft ice cream, a tap on my shoulder and there is Miss 1, with a big hug and "do you have time? It is Good to see you again" So the two block walk back to the hotel, and I am off to a pretty good start!
So, I kick her out, feeling a little tired and hungry and go to my favorite Pizza spot, looking for Miss 2. Not working, but I will tell you are back Mr. Fiestero, she will be happy to hear it. So, I have a pizza and beers to fill up and dial a few numbers, Miss 3 and 4 are not answering, but I text and they are both available. Oops. What time? Where? My first thought is trio? No, I decide that I am too tried from the long day, and I know from previous experience that one of them is a workout, let alone two? So I opt for Miss 3 for 10 pm. And go for another beer on the Bulevar. It's a Tuesday night and it's pretty quiet. I whatsapp with a friend and fellow ISG member, that in the past hour, I have only counted 60 approachable girls, so the numbers are down, typical for mid week. Many, many girls get checked off the list immediately mainly due to their DNIs being the wrong color. As I have stated here before, my strict interest is for women, and liberty. Always, alwys, always, always check ID, if you are even the least bit suspicious. And even if you are pretty sure, ask for it anyway. Never go out with someone unless you are absolutely sure of their age. The cops made sweeps through the trendy bars in town asking for ID when I was there, so they are taking this all very seriously. Busy work day, and it's Wednesday, so in the evening I swing by where Miss 4 works, but her boyfriend is there, so I get a meal and a beer and move on. This time out to the Plaza and a hooker runs across the street to catch up with me, Ximena! Ximena is an absolutely stunning Lady-boy. I met he / she / it when I was there last year in the plaza and we chatted for awhile, they were all bored out of their minds, and funny as hell. If they are super made-up, hanging out on corners of the plaza, it's 99% sure they are chicos, not chicas.
So back to the Bulevar to watch the two legged scenery. The coldest beer there is at Costa Verde. But they don't have the hottest waitresses- those are next door at Arandu Bar. Ufffff. So nice, and well sooooo nice. Haha. But hey get hit on a thousand times a day, so they are pretty jaded. So, what the heck, I'll go back to Divas down in San Juan and see if Monica is working. Divas is a nicely "divey" night club with a 25 sole cover that gets you a pitcher of ice cold, watered down beer to share, and a "Laptop" to share it with. Monica was not working, but, oh my there was Miss 5! Short, skinny, curvy, morena, hair down to her waist and Mahogany eyes. Yes, I do have a weakness for those selva girls, I must admit. Asked about "para llevar" and she wanted 200 for 2 hours, but we settled on a nice slow blowjob up stairs for 40 soles. Wow! I got her number, called it the next day for a repeat, and she didn't pick up. Maybe another time.
The next two days were pretty uneventful, Went up stairs at Yellow Rose, and had a decent steak with real mashed potatoes. I was feeling frisky, so I asked the bartender if she felt comfortable making a very dry gin martini? She said, if you teach me? With those big, soulful eyes.

I need to interject at this moment, how important it is to know at least some Spanish. I may be able to pull some of this off without my basic Spanish, but what I have observed is that as my Spanish improves, so does my luck.
Weekends! My hotel bed is about 100 m from the biggest, nicest Disco in the central area. It's called "Noa". And in military parlance, I beleive it would be called, a "target-rich environment". I am told that the F: M ratio in Iquitos is qbout 3:1, and nowhere is this more evident than in a place like Noa. OMFG.
Oh and I need to interject one more point. Learn to dance. Even if you have two left feet, like me. Get out there and lose your inhibitions. I premptively tell girls, that while I LOVE to DANCE. I am a Terrible dancer. But I would love to learn? Will you teach me?
It doesn't matter. They just want to dance, and are probably bored dancing with their girlfriends. HINT: It also helps to have a hotel close by, and a bottle of something to drink when you get there. I walked in (first, I always wear earplugs- you can hear them ask to leave much easier) but forget gettng there any sooner than 11 pm. And the floor was full of girls all dancing with each other. I thought I had time traveled back to my High school prom. The guys were at the bar and here I am faced with a room full of Charapitas in high heels, short-shorts and mini faldas. Let's see decisions, decisions. Smokin' hot, "bored with their boyfriends" ladies in all directions! Rested for a few days after that to recharge. Back to the Arandu on the Bulevar mid week and sit next to this table full of people, four middle aged Peruvians and 2 hot 20 year olds. They looked BORED! The guys were laughing and drinking and basically, ignoring these two hotties. They were drinking too, and making some serious eye contact with me. I smiled and nodded. Finally got up to go let the beer back out, and one of them followed me into the mens room! Haha! Awesome! She had "that look" in her eye. Asked if I liked her, and if I spoke Spanish. Me: yes and yes. She grabs my arm and writes her number in pen on it. Looks at me like she's going to eat me for dinner. A kiss on the cheek and, she says" call me" hahahaha! Fuuuuuuuuucccccccckkkkkkkk! That was hot. Called the next day but, no contesta. Figures.
I was looking at some property for sale there and had contacted a seller who wanted to show me his land. I told him can you send someone familar with the place to act as a guide. He says yes, the daughter of the caretaker, Miss 9, will get you at your hotel the next morning. Miss 9 is 21 years old, slim, and just the sweetest girl! We start chattering away, and had the best day together. I ask her how many BF's a guapita like you have? Must have many? You are single? How can that be? Lets go dancing! OK. Haha, this is great. Never did meet up with her, after that, but she texts me the next day with a selfie, and then calls and says, she is leaving for Lima next week, lets do something when I get back. : O) haha. Love it.

I love the food there!
4 I arrived to my usual haunt, a bargain of a little Hospedaje, after my 8 sole taxi ride into town. It is a CLEAN, air conditoned, triple room, within 2 minutes walk of the Plaza de Armas. Where they know my ways and could not care less. (Even when I had a puker on the bed this time, first in a looooong time, their only concern was that I was not sick or needed a doctor) And they even discount my room, because I am very quiet and respectful. For 50 soles per night it is, as we say, like a sore dick. Hard to beat..
Please provide some Hotel names in Iquitos near Plaza de Armas.Look on Trip advisor or Bookng.com. All hotels in Iquitos are girl friendly else they would not survive.
Recommend you get a place with Air Conditioning and a pool.

Please provide some Hotel names in Iquitos near Plaza de Armas.The only time I've been in Iquitos, I stayed in the Victoria Regia Hotel & Suites (http://www.terraverde.pe/victoria-regia-hotel-suites) and I recommend it without reserves.
It is not all that cheap, but has a more than reasonable price for the quality of the installations and the services it provides.
It has air conditioning everywhere inside the hotel and a swimming pool, just as Sly One recommended, and it is within walking distance (4-5 blocks) of the Plaza de Armas.

Sorry all but this report is late. I was in Iquitos for 3 weeks in May. Things are changed in the few years I have been coming to Iquitos. The police presence out and about now. Friends tell me that petty crime has gone up dramatically. The boulevard is still filled with beautiful girls, but most are between 14-17 yrs old. I am too pretty to spend time in a Peruvian prison to even try (yes, I am being sarcastic with the "pretty" remark). Beer is still cold and cheap. There is a new Night Club on Pevas. Filled with Colombian women, YUM. I never partake of street walkers but noticed that they are getting scarcer in Plaza de Armas. I think I need to find a favorite forest spot. Maybe try Tarapota or just stay in Lima.

Remember in Iquitos, "Night Clubs" are strip clubs. I would stay away from Elfin Manoso. 300 soles is way too much to pay for the ladies. Many of the others will allow pretty much everything for a far less price. Got a great BBBJ at one for 50 soles with my hands roaming every where and sucked on her great tits. Forgot the name of the place. Taxi drivers know all of the places. Depending on your age, NOA (disco) may be a place tp hang out. All these places do not get going until midnight or later.

Unless you are into trannies, you won't find Iquitos easy. Warning: the "girls" on the Plaza de Armas look very pretty and some of them are "post-op". This can lead to confusion. I suggest that one just take a pass on these chicas. I really don't think any of them have two X chromosomes!
The strip clubs here are another disappointment. The girls are pretty but are completely non GFE. That doesn't only mean a CBJ. Smiling is an issue for them, especially as you are forced to pay up front. Once the money changes hands, they lose all interest in their customer.

Just arrived a week ago and on that small airport a driver tried to get me to pay for a ride to my hostel. I declined because he asked 25 soles with is about $8 US. So I took one of those motorcycles with a basket for three people in the back, a trike that city is full of. What a mistake, streets are as bad as those in New York City and now imagine that on a motorcycle, a horror. However, he took me to my hostel "Amazon Within" which I'm very happy about, nice, clean, quiet, safe. The next day I followed the instructions from someone who posted here a few years ago, I took a bus to the airport, and right on the bus stop standing that same driver who offered me a car ride for 25 soles a day before, he was taking his father to the flight to Lima, so he tells me to wait for him and he said he would take me to chongas even though his wife and a daughter was there, funny. So he puts his father to the flight and instructs his wife and daughter to go home, we take one of those terrible motorcycles to chongas his car was at the repair shop and he was free for couple of days). So it is literally one stop from the airport towards the city center, and if you take a bus (naturally you will not go there straight from the airport), but from the city, take a bus to the airport, they are everywhere around literally) and it takes about 25,30 minutes, and the stop before the airport is called Secada, it is right by Honda dealership and police station. Some small pharmacy is across the street. You walk into this unpaved road and will see about five or six bordells and the best one is the one right after "La Cucarda Star", all the others are not good during the week, but that one is good every single day, like baby version of that "Las Sirenitas" in Lima. So I was there with that guy Raul, taxi driver, I bought him a few bears and a girl as a thank you to getting me there and that was it. It looks scary at first with all those poor working mothafuckas waiting in line and they look scary at times, but no worries, I was there tree times, all good. Equatorian girls, rugged and pheasant like but some of them good looking. Peruvian girls are way more high class.
