BJYour comments on conventional economics are correct. I am well aware of the supply / demand curves.
I was pointing out that Thai Economics 101 with respect to WGs pricing runs counter to conventional wisdom. When demand is low, prices rise. My analogy to widgets might have been better had I used 'WGs' prices' instead.

BJSo how about Bangkok Airways multiplying the airport tax by I don't exactly remember how many times in 1997 or 1998 (Could have been something like from 250 Baht to 2500) in Samui because there were not enough passengers. Dr BJ, economics is standard in nearly every country, now I'm not a expert on SEA, can only express what I have experienced in Thailand and in Thailand they seem to do the opposite as noted by the other posters by basically f-king themselves. Like thinking their rice was so good that if they raised the prices everyone including their own people will pay it. Now from what I read they are way down on exporting rice? I tend to agree here they screw themselves everytime. Someone like myself once said they are backwards and someone responded that I was being kind?

As 99% of soapy parlous do, they have different price rangers. This is because some ladies work for 1 amount of money and another style lady for another amount of money. I wanted to get in some of the other style ladies, so we had another price level, where the ladies will get more money.
We then tried a much lower price point as well, so in total we had.
1000 price.
1700 price.
2500 price.
The test was to see which was the best for the business and also can each price point get enough customers to open it's own place and that price.
In the end once we got the 2500baht price fulling running, we was so busy, we did not have enough rooms and it was to a point that the 1700 price ladies where at maximum 5% of the daily amount of ladies taken, which where taking up needed rooms for the 2500baht price. The 1000baht price had there own small rooms, so they did not effect it as much but we found out that this price point did not work for Annie's but would work in another place (after further tests).
It made perfect sense, move the 1700baht ladies out to a new place (which we was lucky we had a friend willing to take them and still keep them semi connected to me) giving us the needed space for the more popular girls.
Now Annie's only has the one price this is the one that sold the most, if the 1000baht price sold the most maybe we would have done it the same with that.
Dr BJ himself being quite clever, seeing the 1000baht prices and thought it would work in another shop and that is what he is calling budget bangers.
So again, no price increase, we added more choices at first. We let the customer choose which price / ladies they wanted. You could say over the 3 years that we had the different prices once we took out the 2 others 1000/1700 in the end the prices where higher but then when we opened in 1973 it was 500baht as much time as you want in the room.
Any shop sells the products and set the prices based on what the customers wants and can buy, which is what any good retail will do for good business. We sell for a price that give us profit as this is what any business does and the ladies work for a profit which they want to work for. This is the perfect price for this business and the ladies that we have ever had. The test showed us the product which was best and at which price.
If no one took the 2500baht ladies we would have no ladies as they would be having no work and we would be having no Annie's as no customer taking ladies and no money to run Annie's. 100% we have more ladies than we have ever had before at the moment, the reason is, we have more customers than we have ever had before.
Tourist numbers maybe down in Bangkok but there are still millions of tourists, so let me explain it this way.
For example tourist numbers gone down 10%
Annie's numbers up 40%

Still in the eye of the generic customer, even the one always choosing the highests price tag, it is seen as a way to step up price or price level.
But please do not take me wrong. I hear what you say and usually I am a high end customer (doesn't mean I waste my money or overspend on poor quality) so I can understand why, at the end, uour customer range has addresed to the higher end, rather than taking the low end.
Maybe you are not calling the budget custsomers and DrBj (the smart ass he is! LOL) has done is budget airline now. And will call those budget customers.
Still in between the 1700 and the 2500 ladies I was opting for the 1700 as good enough, or I could not see the value of the 2500 (as I am not strictly looking for stunning girl but for good service) but ehre we go into "each one his own"

First, as a Farang we always expect top service. In my previous career any print that discussed our business even in a negative view, such as a local newspaper is considered free [and great] advertising to let others folks know that you are out there, and arouse curiosity to a point that they will visit your establishment. But negative experiences or comments from customers leaving the establishment, or detailed reviews on forums such as this one beyond "this place sucks" can be mortal to a new business venture. These customers that you already had, who will not be returning, and who are telling others. This is in no way positive. Yeah the rule is old, but when you break it down what is positive and what is negative "mention / advertising / review" the rule is golden and still holds. We need to see a lot more positive reviews on this one to balance now the bad ones.

Read some of the old posts and it's the same stuff as posted here in the past couple of days. It's not only the Thai forum, it's ISG in general. The guy in Columbia with the Mansion, the hip hop guy in the DR? (I forgot what forum he was on) the Penthouse hotel or any other business. Overall ISG members just don't seem to respond to well to these places when management is also a forum member. The one place that initially had a lot of positive reviews blew up as many members took exception to some to many of those glowing reports and a turf war developed.
Maybe it's just jealously and some people don't want others to succeed and we know people love to complain but whatever it is this just does not seem to be a place for owners who are posters. Look at a dump like SOL, they have so many positive reviews here but I bet if the owners of SOL started posting here they would get their butts kicked the same way others do. We all know customer service is tough business and advertising is good but you've got to wonder about the cost benefit for business owners who post and advertise their biz here. One would think that in a city like this, with all of the venues available there would be at least 10 reports a day. BJUnfortunately there are many on the forum who mostly post negative reports or are having a bad reaction to positive reports. You even get rather strong reaction to any form of disagreement even if its rather light hearted or joking around. Some people get pissed off too easily. Dream Heaven is my all time favorite teen massage establishment. I've only visited the shop on Soi 33 as they hadn't yet opened the Soi 24 branch on my last visit. Management is always friendly and the lineup is SOP. Some very good performers and some average. Angels over at 24/1 charges 800 B for a 2 hr oily. Tack on the 1500 B full service fee and you're at 2300 B. 100 B less than the same full service massage at DM.
Actually the shop pricing makes a pretty good business model. Price the non-sex massage high and limit the time a girl will be occupied to 90 minutes. We have all heard about guys that want 2 hr at 800 B then stiff the girl or give the minimum 500 B tip for HJ. The girls make their money on the extras so high baseline prices assures the girl she will at least make something on the encounter. Limiting the time gets popular girls back in the lineup sooner a win for the shop and the girl.

Is there any luxury oily massage parlour?
I need a good oil massage plus sex in an upscale establishment.

She is already at Cherry Massage.Yes. I booked ICE a week ago. First time with her (booked her based on good reviews here) and first time at Cherry's. Having been taken care of well by Bo and Ammy at Mango, I had quite high expectations of ICE. Initial impressions. She isn't what I would describe as cute or a looker, but a definite action girl!
