Long time lurker, recent subscriber, now first time contributor. Just visited Bamboo based on glowing reviews. Easy to find, clean enough inside, friendly and helpful mamasan at the counter. However, you should note that unless you can speak Thai or Chinese (some Chiang Rai girls understand that) it will be next to impossible to communicate (except for sign language), if communication is essential to make your session a good one.
Eye candy is certainly better at the soapies than at Mango / Cherry, service wise however the soapies do not come close to the oilies.

Be aware there are two entrances. The entrance to your left as you approach the building is where you will find girls with good looks and good massage skills. Approx 300 Baht for 1 HR Thai and 350-400 for Oil massage. When Phon offered me the full package she also offered 2000 Baht for everything including the massage. Google Maps can even show you that place is in a back alley, street view shows green picket fence with 2 flags at front Thai flag and yellow flag. There is a sign saying Nuat (in Thai meaning massage) with an arrow.

Tuesday night I went for the first (and last?) time to 101 Premier Massage on Suk soi 26. Had the absolute best MP service ever, to the point where I went back Weds for a repeat, very rare. But even if martial law is still if effect, that probably does not "trump the current set of laws". Certain laws and civil liberties will be set aside and the Army will get extra rights to investigate, arrest, . . . It doesn't mean they are allowed to do anything they fancy. Of course that is the theory.
In practice? Who knows? For the time being they seem to favour a policy of soft changes, through PR, educational programs, billboards, TV messages, ...
Given that "martial law" was transformed into a regular coup and the Army is now in government with no effective parliament controlling them, they can of course publish new laws which will become "the current set of laws".

Happy New Year Gents.
Nataree-My first stop as usual when in BKK. I stayed at the Emerald Hotel which is about a one minute walk away and had a nice stay there in the perfect location for the neighborhood soapies. Been to Akane, during my last trip and chose Hijiri.
