Soi 11 places are (were?) basically knocking shops. They aren't technically ripoff venues (you only pay what you agree to), but offer poor value and experience. You get a basic wham-bam quickie session in crappy facilities (no privacy, no proper shower) for a price that needs to be negotiated and typically ends up between 2000-3000 baht for FS when you count the massage fee. Now, wham-bam has its place, but I'd rather go to a low-end brothel where the deal is 100% clear, no bullshit, and pay 600-1000 baht for the same thing.
Not sure about other places, it's certainly NOT safe to assume every massage shop in a tourist area offers FS.Don't know when you last visited Soi 11, but the several oily shops in front of Ambassador were gone in February. Bloomberg reported there are 100 K empty condos in Bangkok. The economy is hurting everyone including builder so they don't have advantage. Who else can you rent an old multi-stories building to that is doing well and utilize the whole building. If you view it from the landlord's perspective it is not a bad business in this case and you probably don't want to sell during economy downturn.

.I don't know much about the japanese MPs, but my understanding was they were the same as any generic MPs as the farang ones, they just catered to the japanese audience directly. There's a whole world of travel in BKK that is a very narrow segment aimed at japanese people that doesn't overlap with the farang / english crowd. You could be right next to a japanese hot spot, hotel, hostel, whatever, and never really know it since it only markets to japanese people.
I haven't seen them get rid of the 2 hour thing. I've never seen that at any shop. Only thing I've seen is that they try to push the 60,75, or 90 minute one instead of pushing the full 2 hours on customers. You want 2 hours, you get 2 hours and pay, done and done. None of these shops are so busy they can't do 2 hours. There's always plenty of girls there waiting around on their phones or eating on most days. I use my example to explain why we report things differently. It is because we report based on what we see so everyone is right based on his own experience.
What I see is the shop makes more money with 10 one hour sessions than 5 two hours sessions, and only during weekend the two hours session disappears. If you look at 102, they have more girls than they have rooms. Now they have session that is very short so they can squeeze in more customers to make even more money. Again, no one is universally right or wrong, this is based on my experience and observation.
Same goes for the Japanese owner, if we go to different places, we will have different conclusion. I know one shop that the Japanese owner knows how to do online marketing and he has better looking girls but the service is not as good.

Asian guys go golfing and then hit the oilies together or hit them after happy hour on Friday.
The oilies on Suk 4 are full of hawkers and toothless hags, but there was one in particular. South of the Omni, left hand side. That I frequented about two years ago. Nicely appointed rooms in different themes, en suite bathroom and shower, and the gals expected you to want either a blowjob or FS along with the decent massage.

They all own it, they're just going to wait for things to get better, whenever that be.
Regarding Bloomberg report, not surprised at all. My building has so many condos empty. Some say it's because locals don't want to rent in on price they think is less, I don't know actually why so many properties are empty.
