What an excellent laid back city, OK its poor and the infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired, but my general first impression is of a cheap and relatively safe city with enormous potential.
Arrived via Istanbul, unfortunately the TK air plane was delayed so it’s arrival coincided with the arrival of the Air Moldova and Rome flights, this meant about 400 people trying to make their way through immigration and customs in an area designed (if indeed it was designed) for about 100.
Absolutely no problems getting through passport control – I have a European passport- simply asked where from and how long I intended to stay. No fee and no hassle much to my surprise. Bags were scanned on exit but not stopped even with a laptop, 2 new playstations and some sex toys (leather cuffs and neck ties).
I am here to marry my long time stunning blonde Moldovan fiancée, so I have a native speaker to accompany me around the city. We are renting a two bed apartment (600€ for one month all inclusive) which is much better value than the rip off hotels. The apartment is around the corner from the National Hotel so it’s within easy walking distance of all major venues.
First evening we had a few beers in the very good ‘Beer House’ on boulevard Negruzi. A shady terrace and pleasant evening sunshine made for a relaxed and enjoyable time. Staff were friendly and some English was spoken. The beer is brewed on the premises. 0.5 ltr of filtered lager 37 lei and unfiltered at 34 lei. Exchange rate is about 16.5 to the Euro and 12 to the dollar. Food is cheap with ample choice. After Kazakhstan I am amazed at how cheap it is.
Walking around there are a lot of girls but mostly in the 5-6 range, this is offset by a few 9-10 stunners.
We visited ‘People Club’ on Friday evening. The club is in two parts – Caligula and People. Caligula is a lap dancing bar. Miss O was keen to try it! Entry was 150 lei for guys and incredibly 250 for girls. This gives entry to both ‘People’ and ‘Caligula’ however only one entry to Caligula is allowed. Therefore its better to go into People first and then move up to the lap dancing bar and return to People.
We went to the lap bar first. Good seating with all seats offering a good view of the stage. Non stop topless striptease and pole dancing. Good looking fit girls. The dancers move around the audience after dancing and offer a ‘private’ dance. The waitress quoted 250 one girl on one, or 500 for two on one, in our case 1000 for 2 girls – one each, I declined.
Beer was reasonably priced we had 6x Heineken bottles and 350gms of Russian Standard vodka – 890 lei.
At 1 am it was quite quiet, Miss O was getting increasingly horny looking at the girls. She was doing very good job of making me very horny by playing with me in my trousers. She had my dick out but we felt we would be pushing our luck if she blew me there, even so all the satff were well aware of what was going on.
Of course we were offered a private dance, this time it was a brunette and a very nice busty blonde. We agreed the price before moving to the dance booth.

Star Track
The week in Kishniev continues. Saturday was a wipe out with severe and rather explosive food poisoning; however by Sunday afternoon I was sufficiently recovered to go to the Beer House to have a few liveners.
Decision was taken to go to Star Track late, so after a nap in the evening we made our way there at 2330hrs. Surprisingly busy for a Sunday night. First we went into the downstairs ‘Military Bar’. Admission 30 Lei.
Bar has an upper and lower floor. Decorated with RPGs and an armoured personnel carrier. At 2345 on a Sunday it was pretty full, mainly under 30’s guys with some serious bruisers among them, but more interestingly about 10 girls at the bar obviously working. English is in short supply here, most speaking Romanian and Russian. Eye contact was made with a very nice blonde in the corner but she was surrounded by bruisers and I didn’t have the balls to go up and ask - feeling that my usual “ Kak zavoot, Kak dela, skolka?” routine would fail miserably here. Miss O was also keen to experience the disco upstairs as well.
Star Trak itself is up the stairs, 60 lei entrance fee. Very busy. Populated by under 25 year old rubber people! Unlike Kazakhsan where the discos are also full of young people, I felt pretty much out of place here. No Wgs as far as I could see.
Excellent floor shows most of which would give a UK fire prevention officer a heart attack. Go Go dancers also very fit and, in line with all former Eastern Block countries, the dancing was wild and athletic by all on the floor. Booze was cheap at 40 lei a beer and 50 lei for absinthe and cointreau cocktails.
Miss O was happily dancing when a girl came up to her and said hello, at first she was puzzled as to whom it was but it came to light that she was Miss Brunette from Friday night at the lap dancing bar. She declined a 3 some and did not know any girls who would go for it. Shame.
We left at about 3am with the 3some mission not accomplished but still pretty happy. Outside there was a large gathering of guys I was glad I wasn’t alone and had a Russian speaker with me.
Total damage for the night about 1000 lei.
Thanks to Excess for the kind comment. Miss O and I have been together over 3 years and the easing of the Visa issues will be a relief, first question when travelling witha Russian is always - do you need a Visa?

A first time view of Chisinau Moldova
I had the pleasure of being in Chisinau last weekend for MK's wedding, unfortunately flight plans messed things up and I arrived a day later than planned.
Spent lunchtime sitting outside in Greenhills Restaurant with MK observing the incredible numbers of scantily clad babes of all ages strolling up and down the street - amazing.

i will go for my first visit of moldova in few days because i don't need a visa. there is a fairly cheap but good hotel named hotel turist in chisinau, old eastern europe 3 stars type. as i did not know how to start chasing girls, i had noticed in another forum that a few movements of nicely dressed blond girls in the lobby despite the presence of a safety agent. the agent mades us understand he pretends to have some power on the area a very discreet manner. he proposed to us a good young girl for 4 hours at € 100. 00. the only concession we had to do was to forget about the typical lovely brown girls of moldova. the lady will arrive at the floor about 1 hr later. she not has such a lovely face but her hair are very carefully dressed as well as her clothes. she waits for the safety agent who took the cash and came with the monger. can you confirm experience in this hotel?
if you ever fly air moldova, you might be startled to find yourself slowing down halfway through the takeoff. don't be alarmed. you weren't taking off at all. this is air moldova's way of taxiing from one runway to the next at maximum speed. aviation is not one of moldova's strong points but i will take air moldova. do you think i need to buy makler journal? i think as prostitution is forbidden in moldova there is nothing in makler now as i see on makler website now.
next i will use the saunas. go to any sauna (preferably after 6pm) and say you want a girl. remember, speaking russian or romanian is pretty much essential. if you don't, then find a friendly taxi driver who can take you around and "represent" you when you both walk in. that way all you have to do is hang around and look hard. This is how 2 weeks in Chisinau went:
1) Airport harassment: custom officer insisted on a 20 euro bribe or will make me open all luggage. Settled for 5 euro. Taxi harassment: wanted 120 lei for a 65 lei ride. Police on street harassment: they find all kind of imaginary problems with your passport and entry stamp unless you bribe them a few euros. Specially if you are walking with a girl, they threaten to take her to police station unless you pay up!
2) Clubs: Absolutely no chance to take a normal girl straight to your home after the disco! They are very conservative and come to the club with few girlfriends and their boyfriends. They will accept that you buy them cocktails but at best, if you are lucky and speak russian or rumanian they will give you their number. But when you call the next day, they will not answer, or they will answer and tell you not to call again or they will have the boyfriend answer you!
3) Normal girls in the street or parks or shopping centers: forget about the beautiful ones, they ALL, and I mean ALL, already have plenty of sponsors moldovan or foreign and they don't need any new ones. Specially a lonesome tourist who will leave at the end of his vacation! Thay will snob you, ignore you or threaten to have you beaten if you really insist, bothering them.
The average and below average looking ones will give you their number only if you don't look too old! They like ONLY YOUNG looking men, foreigner or not!
They will accept your invitation to take them to clubs and restaurants, 2 or 3 times but will not answer the phone or will not come to the date on the 4th time because they know that after 3 meetings it is usually time to fuck!
To give them presents BEFORE you fuck them is a BIG mistake! They will take them and run, laughing at what an asshole, stupid, pussy whipped, weak foreigner you are! 4)Places where the *****s hang out: a)"Sun City shopping Center". 100-150 euros for 1 hour be)"City" club. 100-200 euros for ugly prostitutesc)"Nostalgie" bar. Same shit the)"deja vu"bar. Even more expensive + you must first spend a fortune on ultra expensive cocktails.
Sorry guys, but if you expect to get laid in this country based on your foreign passport, think again, the streets are FULL of foreigners, specially Turks and Italians. So many, that moldovan girls now don't want to have anything to do with them. They much prefer to be with moldovans, who now have money, speak their language, understand their mentality and will be here tomorrow to have a relation with them or marry them!
Summary: Overdone destination. Too many foreigners. Expensive prostitutes. And nearly impossible to get normal girls.

From your past and present experiences, we clearly undestood that Moldova is not for you. You play the game with classical ways and get expected responses from the girls, taxi drivers and the police. For shagging (especially paid one) purposes, you should either stay in your home country or go to places like Prague where there is an established sex industry.
Moldova is a small country, we, who have more than one gf there, worry about the complications to be seen by other gfs or their friends. If we look at the situation from the girls point of view, they have many friends, relatives etc and they are mostly afraid of being treated as *****s by their friends. MD education system is so weak but for the last 10 years, with the help from international NGOs, they are very good in one thing: "Stay away from foreigners". All the girls know this and they will not be with u if you try to meet them in clubs and parks or any place public. This is mostly valid for the first encounter. After they know you, they will not care about others.
Discreetion is the magic word for relations in Moldova. If you somehow can succeed this and trust via web sites, emails, chats and phone talks, you will pass the highest barrier in Moldova. Everything else is same as before as in the so called 'golden days'.
Let me start with airport. You were in Moldova before and knew the scene. I never paid anything at the airport while they tried to get 3 times. Police and customs guys know basic Italian, Turkish, German and accidentally English :) They will try to ask you in your native language, so my way was forcing them to speak in English. They know why most men come to MD so if you play weak and if they feel that you are newbie and there for their girls, they will get that 10$ whatever you do. So act normal :) Once they asked me to open the luggage, I put the luggage in front of the guy and told him go ahead open it. After that he said whether I have food etc and let me go without opening it. Finally, it all depends on you.
About the taxis: As it is mentioned here, when you arrive to passport control area you will see big signs from taxi companies stating the prices. If you dont know what to do, when you exit from customs area, turn right and you will see a taxi company office. They speak English...and other languages also I guess. Ask them the cost and they will direct you to a taxi with 65lei cost to center.
I was there many times and didnt have any problem with the police in the city but as far as I know the mentality, if somehow you look suspicious and feel that you are feeling guilty :) for some reason, doesnt't matter where you are from, they will ask for a bribe because they want the same bribe from their citizens also.
About clubs&parks: Unless she is a pro or semi pro, it is really difficult to make the first contact with them because of the reasons I mentioned above. The problem about pros is that the number of pro supply is not enough for the demand at any time during the year. This is because they are outside of Moldova even probably in your country also. If you are looking for pros, it's better to look in your country and probably you will get one with 100Euros there cheaper and better than Moldova.
About the girls, presents etc: It also depends on you, your girl and the circumstances. If you treat them as prostitutes, they will probably respond as prostitutes. I always treat them as ladies and get response accordingly. By the way, I always give my gifts beforehand :)

First of all let me say that I am sorry to hear about your largely unsuccesful stay in Moldova. Let me also correct you about your assumption about the girls I get. I am early thirties, I speak decent Romanian and am a frequent visitor even if I normally only stay for a week at a time. This time, however, I have been here since early May with only a 12 day break to Romania. During all my time here I have only twice payed a girl money in the sense that we agreed a price beforehand. Of course I always foot the restaurant bills, the taxis, the dinners I make at home etc. so in a sense I still pay of course, as do we all. And they range all from 18 to my 40-year-old Tiraspol milf who recently moved back to Chisinau. I never give them money afterwards or gifts other than dinners and cinemas, and since they stay with me I must be doing something right.
Regarding girls it seems to me that you didn't do your homework properly. There is plenty information on this board stating that Moldova can be a very difficult destination for the non-frequent short term visitor. To just show up here without any pre-arranged contacts and expect girls to fall for you because you are a foreigner and give them gifts is just too naive and I would have thought a seasoned traveller such as yourself would have known better.
You could also find lots of information about the foreigner- and prostitution stigmas that concern the girls here. In this case, I will need an explanation from you Vlad. In which of my posts you found something unrealistic? I wrote all the things I encountered and saw in your country. I dont know the others, especially Nolies, but Moldova is a paradise for me. I am not doing any business there and I know that if I try that I will have problems because of EE mentality. This is not a forum about doing business in Moldova. He may be right about the business environment and also about the prostitutes in Moldova I am sure about that. She called me alst night panicking she does not want to go back!
We have 2 options
1) hire lawyer and work out the visa.
I will be her sponsor and she will be a domsetic helper or help with my business.
2) have her stay illegally. Pay me some rent (I have extra rooms). And work in restaurants until she figures something out.
Any advice? She only has 2 weeks left.
Option 1 will be quite expensive. If you really care and have some plans for her and it looks like you have a plan for every girl you should not get involved in either. Not because it is illegal but it is too much trouble and money. Hope you are doing all right. Hopefully we can meet sometime!

If you mean the wine festival in October you mean the "Festivalul vinului" or "Ziua Vinului". It is usually celebrated during the second weekend of the month of October, this year being the 13th and 14th of October.
Regarding cheap accommodation you can try to contact Essi. He can get you an apartment next to his own which is spacy and has ultra central location (I am stayin there now). I believe the daily rate is € 35 which includes daily cleaning by a maid.

I'd add, as an early evening option, Aero Cafe, which is located in the bridge connecting Sun City Mall with Stefan cel Mare park (excellent cocktails), and I'd also change La Boucherie and Equator by any bar/restaurant in Jumbo fourth floor, as all places there are very popular rendez-vous for dining and drinking and strategic spots for dyevuskas-watching. Metaxa is my personnal favorite hang-out in Jumbo.
Militari is not on your list but is a very good bar/club, in the same building than Star Track yet better IMO. Atmosphere is quite happening, especially during the occasional amateur strip contests when drunken ****s taken in the audience are willing to bare it all for a few shots of tequila. :)
New York bowling is now closed.
Citi Disco is only a late-night option IMO. A good trick is to call and reserve, for 200 leis, a VIP table bordering the dance-floor. It's often rewarding. I have the manager's mobile number, if anyone is interested by tables reservations there.
The "girl" (supposing you refer to my recent post in the Kiev section) doesn't work no more in Bacardi, but in another strip club in Centru.

Turist hotel was full this week I was finally in the famous National hotel to the 4, boulevard Cel Mare. This boulevard is the equivalent for Chisinau of the terrible Deribarovskaia of Odessa. The girls are beautiful also but the asses are less class and the country an economic disaster. I only wish I digital cameras had been available when I was playing in West Africa, Brazil and up the jungle in Surinam years ago.
An average nights stay including dinner, alcohol and girl(s) would cost around $2 to $5 depending on how many girls.
This was so cheap mainly because of the way people lived and also the fact that there was no toilet, no bathroom, no shower, sometimes no doors or windows either!
The truth is, no matter where you go in the world you will find these kinds of people living in poor conditions, so what is the point of your post???? This is not at all indicative of Moldova as a country.
Chisinau has good hotels, good restaurants, good clubs, good facilities and some very good looking, cheap girls.
My advice is:
Next time you are wanting satisfaction at any price (and yours is obviously low) then contact a member in the place you are visiting and let them show you the way.
They might even lend you a decent camera or teach you how to use your fone camera to better effect, you never know.

In my opinion its very hard now to catch a really Beauty in Moldova. And the reason is very easy. The real beautys ALL are occupied by locals .. or from man from eastern europe, russia etc. Which also have much $$$ and like also to spend. Also there is no language barrier bec ALL moldovan people speak russian language. Also travelling is easy to former russian countries. Normal looking girls you can catch, but beauties .. very very hard... so long u not spend lots of money.
And be careful with some clubs. You can spend much money for reservation and entrance .. for example at a Saturday (I think the Club name is Flamingo) you pay if i remember 250 Lei as a man, 150 for a women, additional 100 or 200 for table .. in City disco i saw the price list for table reservation which is between 100 and 1000 (!) Lei ... we took a small table for 200 Lei ..
I had much fun in Disco Decadence (mostly russians).. where the people drink so much .. unbelivable .. i never saw like this .. the tables loaded with hard drinks (mostly Wodka) .. I have been there with 2 beautiful girls .. old story .. i invited them .. i payed drinks .. and after this .. i went home alone ....
So the not so beautiful girls and not first class clubs i have been much more successful ...

Just returned from Moldova and would first like to thank both Essi and Prosal for their excellent advice. I would also like to thank No Lies for giving me a purpose despite suffering from a wicked cold.
Arrived late enough on Thursday by plane from Kiev on the one a week service in a small propeller 40 or so seater. After settling in to my apartment on Stefan Cel Mare which I stocked with crappy but popular champagne and other essentials, I set off on my mission: To get laid. Headed off to Militari (taxi fare 20 lei, now and for every trip after but most asked for 25/30). I asked security if it was good and they allowed me have a look 1st. It seemed quiet enough so I said I’d return later, at 1am by his suggestion, and crossed over to Nostalgie. Here was quiet too at 11.45pm and those 1st night feelings were creeping in to my psyche so I decided to opt for the easy choice p4p in peoples disco. Bad idea, it was closed. Not to be beaten, I headed back to Militari, despite living close to Peoples disco. Good idea.
By now the bar had improved with girls in 2s and 3s at the bar and sitting at small tables surrounding it. My 1st impression was that compared to Kiev I was “invisible”. Not 1 girl looked my direction despite me being in a bright Polo shirt and good trousers: A bad disguise I thought in a bar called Militari and I should have stood out for not wearing khaki or grunge uniform.
Anyway, decided to sit at a table (70 lei) and look at the girls dancing. It seems strip dancing classes for girls in school is compulsory in Moldova as against an optional extra in Ukraine. The view was worth the entrance fee alone (35 lei). After a few minutes 2 attractive (mid 6s) girls returned from the floor and sat at the table beside me. I was invisible to 1 girl but the other kept looking over. When their drinks were finished I ordered a drink for both of them. The waiter was a little shocked, “on your bill? For both girls?” I said “yes, but normal drinks only”. He returned, said they asked for Absinthe but would be very drunk after, so I agreed. $6 for each drink.
After they had finished the drinks, the girl who had been looking at me came over and thanked me, gave me a piece of paper with her name (Tanya) and her number on it and said “if you want you can call me”. I sms’d her saying “welcome, I will call you”. She replied “when?” and the conversation continued by sms until we agreed she would come home with me now for $50 for the night. She sms’d me “I wait outside”.

If you think this is a poor country just go to any night-club and focus on the tables. In the tables occupied by foreigners, you will see a few drinks (beer, wine or cocktails)and to accompany them: low-level, older, hardcore prostitutes. In the tables occupied by moldovans, you will see bottles of champagne, bottles of vodka, cognac, or whisky with all kind of juices and cocktails. Also big trays of fruits, appetizers and other delicacies. And to accompany them: young, fresh, sexy, top class non-pro girls.
Now go to the parking lot when the club closes: all foreigners leave walking or in taxi with their used up, ugly, older *****es. Moldovans get in their mercedes, BMW, hummers, jeeps with their top-class, ultra sexy women.
How can you use your personality and verbal skills and charm on girls that will not even give you the opportunity to speak? They don't NEED foreigners anymore. Their own moldovan men provide them with all they need!
Just curiously (I know this is an older post), but for the Moldovans driving BMWs, Hummers, Mercedes, etc., what kind of job would they be doing in a country that's ranked as one of the poorest per capita on Earth???

Being born and raised in Moldova and Romania I can tell you that the only real contribution to the MOLDOVA forum comes only from 3 people. ESSI NOLIES and VIKING. The other posts are. Unrealistic.
Altough always in contradiction wiht ESSI's and VIKING's posts NOLIES's posts are also telling the truth about today's scene in MOLDOVA.
ESSI: His posts are accurate but sometimes peolple read only what they want from his posts and then blame him for not being succsseful and call him liar. I like ESSI because once a month he reminds everybody that MOLDOVA is NOT Thailand and that eastern europe scene requires time skills patience and money (altough he never admits the last one openly).
VIKING: No doubt a man who does (did) his homeworks and this saves him time energy and money. Read his posts not only if you go to MOLDOVA but any country for mongering purposes.
NOLIES: Despite being so turned against MOLDOVA scene NOLIES post are 100 % true about today's realities in MOLDOVA and other eastern european countries. I think that he got some problems either with a girl's boyfriend either he's fallen in love with some local beauty and bought her a house or car on her name and got screwed afterwords or got screwed by his moldavians/russians business partners. He knows how MOLDOVA scene is otherwise he wouldn't keep going there but right now he is too pissed off and keeps pouring poison for whatever reason. The girls in SunCity ARE NOT the typical ones.
Actually now I am in Chisinau, on the wine festival and the city party.
It is very crowded on the central street, which is partially blocked. And there are a lot of girls on the street, but not to compare with the ones in SunCity.
The ones in SunCity are of the more "elite" type.
I spend a lot of time in Nikolaev, UA. So I can compare.
The average girls in Nikolaev are definitely better looking than the ones in Chisinau.
One reason for this might be the fact, that the average income in Chisinau is even lower than in Nikolaev. Although the BigMac is more expensive in Chisinau.
Prices in simple restaurants are more or less equal.
So my actual opinion is, that Chisinau is more expensive than Nikolaev, when taken into consideration the standard income. Which has some consequences regarding the amount of money the girls can spend for cosmetics, dressing etc.

I have to back up Niki's report, which was quite well on target.
There is not a well developed professional scene here - even worse, barely any semi-pro scene at all, which is hard to understand. The economy is even worse than in Ukraine, much worse than Russia, average salaries around $100/month.
You'd figure there would be reams of girls willing to serve up some goods for, say $50 to $100 - but no such luck. There are some pros, that's for certain, but not many - you can mostly find them advertised in Makler.
The problem is - these pros are downright lousy. I just called one up - we met in a cafe (thankfully!) to discuss terms first (I highly advise this strategy now). She was a 3, at best. I wouldn't have partaken even if the financial terms were in reverse! Not that its relevant, but she wanted $100 for 2 hours.

Quick report on my trip!
Yes everything seems to be going up in Moldova. Prices are a bit higher. I used to pay only $150/night for this hotel, now it is a little over $200/night!
They only want Euros here. It seems like they fear the dollar. All that should change when we have a new US president! They still take dollars in Ukraine which is good.
Taxi is about the same. still 30 leis. The new projects are just sitting there, and not getting done. You have the credit crisis to blame for this. It seems like most of these new constructions are 75% done, and they just stopped.
I was in Moldova for 1 week, and 3 days in Nikolaev Ukraine.
To compare the girls, Nikolaev looks "cleaner". I think they are better looking because of the clothes they wear and the cosmetics. I get the feeling they will take more work. I met a nice girl in Nikolaev, and she will stay with me for her work and study program.
Nikolaev has it's own charm different from Moldova. You can take an airplne to Odessa, and get a driver to Nikolaev. It is about 2 hours drive. not so bad!

Club Drive - what they call the most exclusive one. You have face control like in Moscow, to book a table you need to spend minimum 1500 lei (around 100 euro). It's safe, full of bouncers, civilized people (more or less), gorgeous women (NON PRO), and it's easy to pick them up and take them home, or at least it worked out well for me. The most expensive bottle on the menu (except champagne that i never go for) is Jack Daniels, 1300 lei, 1 liter bottle. The club is small, so DO book a table, this way all the girls can see you, you can see them, and after some distance flirting you can just stand up, go to the bar/dance floor, and get your chick.
Club People - nice place, big, but it closed down on Saturday night.
Club Flamingo - lovely design, stunning ladies, "table culture" again. Here the table costs 400 lei (less than 30 euro), but no drinks included. Once you pay for the table, you can drink as much/as little as you want. Be careful of one very idiotic thing, they don't sell bottles. The had the price for 50 ml Jack Daniels, but when me and my friends asked for a bottle, the waiter said I should multiply that with 20, to get to 1000 ml, i.e. 1 liter. So in the end the bottle cost some 1800 lei, which was 500 lei more expensive than in Drive. Next time, negotiate!
With regards to the freebies, when I went there it was the last night of club People, so the place was quite empty (at 3 am when I went to People, it was fully). The setting is not as convenient to pick up girls like drive, but you can still do fine.

Once you pay for the table, you can drink as much/as little as you want. Be careful of one very idiotic thing, they don't sell bottles. The had the price for 50 ml Jack Daniels, but when me and my friends asked for a bottle, the waiter said I should multiply that with 20, to get to 1000 ml, i.e. 1 liter. So in the end the bottle cost some 1800 lei, which was 500 lei more expensive than in Drive. Next time, negotiate!
With regards to the freebies, when I went there it was the last night of club People, so the place was quite empty (at 3 am when I went to People, it was fully). The setting is not as convenient to pick up girls like drive, but you can still do fine.

Well, Chisinau is dirt cheap, but some of the restaurants for instance have the same prices like in Belgrade, Bucharest, Podgorica, i.e. you can easily spend 20 euro on a 2 course meal, without including alcohol (250 - 300 lei). There is a good place called Devino that I recommend, it's close to Leogrand and Sun City (za mall, hahaha), food is exquisite, the waitress is a weirdo but cute, they are slow in bringing the food, but it's worth waiting.
I suggest you DO NOT go to Loft (restaurant nicely isolated on Nicolae Iorga), the chef sucks, and food is weird.
I tried Deja Vu for half hour, a club/bar in the center. I ended up talking to a non-pro (i thought she was a pro), didn't get laid, but got her number. Quick report on this wonderful city
I spent 1 and a half week in Kishinev mostly to meet my girls. I got lazy and did not want to do business. Hehe
My first impression is our dollar has gone down! I seem to have less leis. But even so, the country is still very affordable. You will still be "king".
I learned my lesson and not stay in a hotel. I got a nice luxury apartment complete with Plasma TV and ADSL next to Sun City. Throughout the years I have accumulated about 5 girlfriends in Moldova now, and staying in a hotel is not a good thing since I would invite different girls when one girl is busy.
If you are new to Moldova I suggest a hotel. Since I am a regular, I kind of know my way now.

I have been here, in Chisinau for two weeks, and I will stay a bit longer.
One thing I will say is that Moldova is just different from any places I have been on earth.
It is very easy to get dates with girls that it so beautiful that you could hardly believe it is possible. I'm now just back from Moldova, and JESUS (!), the girls in Moldova are extremely gorgeous! There are more model-like than mediocre girls! In western Europe it is totally the opposite.
I have been reading some stuff here, and my opinion about clubs:
- Decadence: crappy place. good dancers. not a lot of women. we had to escape from the place because one of my friends was hitting on some old guy's wife who had a weapon.
- Star Track and Militairy Pub: only go there during week days; on saturday they ask 250 lei entrance (which we did not do, went elsewhere)
- Booz Time: during week days good if you can dance salsa (which I cant do). good quality girls. go and chat with girls on the first floor while watching other people dance salsa.
- Drive: only open on friday and saturday: no entrance fee. best place I've ever been to. loads of top model-like girls ( who are golddiggers ) and rich old guys and some tourists. warning: everytime i went there i got at least threatened with my life 1 time by some fucked up russian not liking me to talk to his girl(s). same story with my friends. But: BEST PLACE!
- Flamingo: BEST ratio women:men. actually even better than Drive. Do it if u speak some russian (which I dont speak).

I am just ending my 5 days trip to Kishinev. This is my first trip to Moldova so I didn't know what to expect. In general, Kishinev is pretty much a dump....not much to do or see, except gorgeous, scantily clad girls crawling out of every corner. This is the sort of place that the local rich brats hangout at. Drinks are very expensive and given the way people were spending, it didn't feel I was in Moldova! We ordered a bottle of Black Label and some mixers and got a table. Total cost 3600 Lei ($360)! I was shocked to see the bill. I should have known better. Avoid this place because its not the place where girls come to meet foreigners. Whilst at other places I was getting a lot of attention, women were coming dancing with me, here the girls would just give a cold glance. Anyway the girls came back to my place and I slept with my girl in bed but she would let me touch her. She was topless but wouldn't let me get close to her!

Its probably easier to meet normal girls here than any place I know in eastern europe (and I have been to most places in EE) specially if you're a foreigner. If you give them an inch, they'll take a mile! Watch your tab, make sure the bartender knows who you're with, tell him to get your authorization before making drinks for girls you're with etc. As with any place, it takes a bit of time to get normal girls in the sack. But with a bit of game and budgeting, you can really pick up hot girls for little money.
Also make sure you go for aparments not hotels. Much better value and definitely preferred by girls since they don't want to be seen going into hotels.

I agree. Garcia had an honest attempt to inform us. Standing on the sideline and critisizing others is always is the most easy job. Maybe next time he will do things different too, but if you have never been to a country before and have no clear idea about salaries in a country etc, it is also very hard to judge what is and is not expensive. Do not make people scared to give information.
In a big city it is always possible to get scammed.Even if you get to Sweden there is the possibility that you get scammed by young swedish girls.I tell this because I had this experience in Sweden which I visited two weeks ago and girls' behaviour is not very far from eastern european one.

It's 40 $ more or less each person, and fish you can find starting from 200 leis till 350. Restaurant in chisinau are becaming more and more expensive.
Just an example: green hills nistru is cheap compared with others but, last year a soup, a fish and an orange juce was 130 leis, more or less, but now it's 200
But there are a lot of restaurants more and more expensive, where it's very easy to reach 40 $, that are 400 leis.
In the past I often ate in grill house (but it was not so expensive).
This time one night I went with my friend and I ate: a ukrainski borsh (65), a salad (95) and a shashlik (160) and a tomato juice (35) = 355 leis, it mean 35 $, and without wine!
About what you wrote in deja vu, also it's possible, because I know that for sure girls in star trek took money from the bar tender, I saw with my eyes, and it was 2003!

Sure, prices in restaurants increased hefty during the last years in chisinau.
In 2001 and 2002 restaurant La Taifas was more or less the only authentic modovan restaurant in chisinau and one of the very, very few hotspots to go and to be seen. In this years you could dine there together with a lady like a king for $30-40. Sadly, soon after the quality dropped and the prices increased at this place so I gave it a farewell.
Same for Green Hills Nistru. But Green Hills and Grill House arent considered to be typical Moldovan. Typical and original food like placinta and mititei are best to eat in Moldovan restaurants in the outskirts of chisinau like doina in telecentre. Havnt been there for a while as the Moldovan food isn't the biggest joy for me.
But bills for complete meals for 3 persons with maximum 500 lei were the norm. Including wine.
Plus I do not see the necessarity to eat any kind of exotic fish in village chisinau. No one can explain, how the long the riba already left the water. I prefer to stick to local products.
As a side note:
Do not feed the girls with too much food. Bad for their shape

Many thanks for your report. Do not get sad. I have also tried your problem with girls that only want to make party and no sex. In the General info section have I made a report, where I call this type of girls for party girls. Unfortunately are there many girls in Chisinau who simply just are looking after western tourist to make big party with. The problem is that they just want to party with you, they will in no way dream about making sex with western tourist. They simply just want to suck your money and let you pay for food and drinks. With party girls you get a good party and no sex, and you use a lot of time and money. It is a big problem, I will guest that maybe 25% of all young women in Chisinau is party girls. So we all need to be careful. I very munch agree with the ideas Assimil did presentate in his report from 08-31-08. I also think it is good idea at the first date, to bring the girl to a simple place, and drink a cop of coffee or a drink with her and have a little talk with her. Do not use a lot of money on the first date. I know it is easier to say then do, but it is a good idea. Moldova is a very difficult place for first time western tourist. You simply risk using a lot of money and time and simply getting no sex.
Come on guys, we are getting naive here! Girls who you take out and they won't have sex in the first or second evening?! How much of those you find in the west? Yes, the majority is not so easy. Unfortunately for us :-))

I am glad to have contributed to the forum and am actually quite surprised to see such a tremendous and varied response! Its good to know that there's some healthy activity on the site.
As for the girl who took me for a ride, I have no regrets having spent like $800-900 on her and her friend (and myself ofcourse) over the course of two nights, food and drinks. It was great fun to party and to flirt with lots of girls in the clubs and to have their attention. When you spend some money, they all know and they flirt with you. I bet if I went to DejaVu again, I would have gotten lots of attention and would have landed a girl. I travel to EE not simply for sex. I live in Dubai and there's plenty of that available here. I go for the entire experience of which sex is a part of. If I get some great, if not then. Well atleast I had a fun time. Having said that, I think Nolies has every right to be critical not because I may have spoilt the market (which I don't think I did) but the fact that I was taken advantage of. There's no doubt I was taken advantage of although this is always the risk, traveling alone to these countries and approaching good looking girls. So there's a price to pay and I paid the price. And a couple of days later, sent me this weird message asking me to fulfill her dream. I asked her what her dream was and she goes '' to have my own apartment! ". Needless to say, I didn't reply back.
So guys, don't be afraid to venture out there but be careful. You win some, you lose some. Sex is good to have but its not the end of the world if you don't get any. If that's what you only and really want then don't ask any girl out. Simply walk into one of the numerous bars and clubs in central Chisinau and pick up a hooker.

I know this will sound silly, but i wanted to share a thought, we've had it good last few years in this "market", but the game is chaging drastically, the girls are wise to us all, it's getting expensive to stay here and frankly the sucess levels are declining, getting prime moldovan ass is not as easy as it used to be me, you all of us we're pigs frankly no matter how we justify it, we come here for fun and frolics yet assume those girls who we're trying to take advantage of are scum because there trrying to get some "value" out of it just as we are, the players are not changing, but unfortunatly the game has :), i am here at the moment, lamenting when i paid guys in my office $250 not the $1000+ todays market is demanding, and coming to terms withj nhavng paid 900 lei in magnolia when the same meal would cost me 500 not 2 years ago, moldova's not dead but the real "freebies" are not that "free any more :)
We need to up our game boys or take a stance againt our italilan brethern who hammer it here lol :)
It is not to be always pessimistic, or nostalgic, but.
Chisinau is changing more and more and is becoming like any other western cities in their worse side.
In the past, I liked this city not only for the girls, but also because it was a good place to rest, to relax.
We already talked about restaurant and girls, let me say something about discos
Discos scene before it was better, discos were less expensive than now and people went there every day, but now everything is concentred on Friday and Saturday.
If you went there at 22 o clock it was already full of people, but now you have to wait 24.
It was not allowed to people to go on the dance floor with glasses or bottles, but now it is.
Most of customers were girls, but now are boys.
When the disco was full, bodyguard didn't allow noone to enter.
Sometimes dj put some slow songs and it was a good occasion to invite girls, now no.
There were some charateristic disco before (for example military), but now they are more or less all in the same style.
I guess that in few years most of us will not come anymore here, and I hope we will find a new and better place

Don't bring outside around spending money on the right and on the left, I mean restaurant and discos, if they are not your own girlfriends.
Everything became more difficult for everybody because many guys are happy to spend around money just to have a female company by their side, even if they know that 90% she will not open her legs.
To spend money only to talk, we don't need to go to modova!
Observe what she order, if she take something like martini or other coctails in the middle of the afternoon, it means she is only a money sucker, a waste of time, delete her number and pass to the next

"If she doesn't want to go further this is really a waste of money" That's like 10 euros or a few days of labour for an average Moldovan.
I really agree with other posts: Moldova is affordable, but absolutely not cheap. Restaurants are not cheap but acceptable for western europeans but not for your average moldovans.
I still have regular contact with a few Moldovan girls from Booz Time and Drive. They were really honest girls (with Romanian = EU passport). And I didn't spend a lot of money on them: probably less than 10 euros a girl totally. I did see that they didn't go for the most expensive stuff; more in-between in prices.

Something else.
One very good tip, and I confess it may sound strange:
Try to make friends with other foreigners and rich local Moldovan men. Good for protection if some jealous boyfriend is harassing you AND you look better/ more interesting to the girls. They see you have Moldovan friends and you look more interesting, because they want to meet rich foreigners with contacts in moldova. Some of the 'business men' you meet are rich and attract girls. Now it's your job to have fun with the girls! I have had nights where I only spend money on a taxi ride. The rest all paid by all the friends I made.
They also want to meet foreigners. A lot of 'business men' in Moldova are very surprised when they meet foreigners in their country and they know you are not a gold digger. SO. They trust you a bit more and you get invited to their table! I had loads of drinks and didn't have to pay.
BUT: also important: If these 'business men' ask you to join their party elsewhere, it's better not to do so. Just to be sure, because you never now for sure what kind of people you become friends with. Like many of the girls I meet around those 'business men', they think they traffick women.

Of course all is changing. Now no visa for european citizen need for getting inside moldova, so more easy fly there and when low cost company arrive it'll be a disaster. But the prices now for hotel and escorts and clubs restaurants are already high. And going worse.

No not at all, what i wanted to highlight is that times are changing, if you scan the thread, there are discussions and complaints about gold diggers yadda yadda yadda. i think we're the naive ones that assume that the moldovan girls will always be amazed at a "outlander" . as mentioned in another post we are commodities to them, as much as they can be percieved as being commodities to us!.
it's is a real challenge now, i do not go there to search for a wife, nor do i really need to go there for my business as 3 years of training my guys negates the need for me to, i go there to try to catch a bit of skirt, but it is becoming more challenging and frankly for me i do not think worthwhile.
about 1.5 years ago and maybe essi you will agree the real catch for a moldovan girl then was not just a foreigner but one that would be making an appreance more then once a year, those times were great for me and i had a few steady hunnies i could call on whenever it took my fancy, i did not [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) about sponsoring them ( no that is a lie i did with 1 but she was HOT, and cost v.s effort equation stepped in and it was worth it to give her $300)

in that case i definatley got conned! in the "menu" there are no prices for the hookah and to be honest i was expecting a 100-150 lei bill for it which would again be over priced but not too devastating.

Military was renewed, and when you will see it you will have a shock: it's just another anonimous disco, but prices are more expensive than before.
City was closed for renewing, and I am afraid to see what they made.
In August in weekday, the only one not empty was Booz Time.

PEOPLE CLUB: closed for good
MILITARY CLUB: remodeled. Plays only techno-house music. Bright lights and no slow songs. 50 leis to get in, 500 leis for a table. Crowd of teenagers from rich parents that all know each other from high school or university.

I am a member since quite a while and usually feel guilty because more reading than writing. The thing is that I do not have so much to report and the last month I have not been in Chisinau permanently (but now I am finally back without family, Essi). But during last weeks and almost month I saw that for many of you it is not so important whether you have valuable info regarding the hobby or not, because you can fill pages and pages with discussion regarding costs of food, taxi, hotel, milk, accommodation and so on. And so it did not come as a surprise that most of your reactions cocnerning Zycke's report are related to the restaurant prices, even though Zycke's report was excellent and aded a lot new info and hot pictures concerning the hobby. Ok, I have to admit that parts of this "extra-fucking" info are helpful for some of us, but especially in Moldova the community of contributirs to our board is small and most of us are seasoned travelers. Therefore I think we should focus more on girls and costs in this sector then of general travel tips; at least those travel info should be posted in the respective section.

one girl did this, paid 4500 euro that she got from some bad guy as a loan. shortly afterwards the american left - and nobody has heard from him since then. nobody knows how many girls got into this? but the bad guy came to the girl and wanted his money, first threatening, then suggesting prostitution to earn the money. when she did not obey, he came back, raped the girl and beat her unconscious. she got a severe head injury and stayed in hospital for a long time. included in this were threats to kill her if she told the police what really had happened so nothing was told to the police....

The story sounds strange to me. Why should an american go to the poorest country in Europe, to collect money with scamming?! I could understand, if he plays the modelscout to get laid with young and beautiful girls, but 4500€ - come on, how reliable is the source?

I don't want to defend any american, but 4 or 5 years ago there was quite the same scam in Chisinau. It was an ukrainian-moldovan company which offered modelling courses and took photos of any girl (and boy) who believed their saga of becoming an international top-model. They also asked for an upfront payment from their "clients" and only after the payment a "contract" would be done!

i think the source (=my girlfriend) is very reliable. she knows the girl that was raped and beaten, and she herself (and other girls she knows) met with this man, but she (luckily) did not accept his offer. she was sceptical and felt it might be something "not right". she does not know if any other girl accepted this "offer". it was definitely real for the poor girl who all of a sudden had a debt of 4500 euro in order to "finance a dream"!
why go to moldova? for a moldovan girl the opportunity may look greater than for a girl in most other places? and who knows, maybe this guy is all over fsu countries? my girlfriend did not mention if he used this to get laid, but it would be strange if he didn't!

So in any case, there woun't be a photo available nor helpfull anymore.

Moldova WAS the poorest country in Europe..come to Chisinau and you will be amazed at the quantity of luxury cars and the lifestyle of the population!
Restaurants, shopping centers, clubs are full all the time..All businesses making a lot of profit,construction booming.
Everyone that has an appartment or a piece of land that they inherited from communist times(the flats were GIVEN to them by the government then) is now seating on 50000 Euros or much more!!! the same flats or land were worth a lot less 5 years ago.
A flat that cost 5000 euros then is worth 10-20 times that much now!
Plus, 40% of the population is in Europe or the USA making money and sending it back to Moldova..Everyone has at least 1 family member abroad sending money.
And now, there are ALL kind of programs that allow moldovans to go abroad(work-travel programs to the USA,Canada immigration programs,contracts to work in Italy and Spain.even work possibilities in Dubai and Cyprus).
So, of course, almost everyone is well -off financially.
You will find beggars and homeless people in the streets of european or american cities but not in the streets of Chisinau!

CI would guess maybe only 2-3 girls were naive enough to be cheated. And if he got out of the country, and he made 9000-13500 in one month, he had a nice income and the chances of something to happen to him are rather small.
have been on saturday and sunday to deja vu.
saturday full of people, nice girls too. but even the hookers are a little "shy".

It's definitely not the fanciest strip club in town (poor furnishings, lame music, weak heater in winter, ect) but it's a relaxing place where prices are quite fair and girls not pushy.
I haven't been there for a while, yet if things haven't changed there's permanently 7 to 10 girls in Bacardi. Some are good-looking, while some others look like they've been working there for too long. Lap-dance costs 150 leis, beer 120 leis, and ladies drinks 150. Nevertheless girls and management could maybe try to charge you a bit more if they've never seen you before. Girls are not to take out and are only there to dance, yet can be dated if they like you. Better try the indirect way (invite them for dinner the next day, or ask them when they have free time), than the direct way (just ask them to go home with you) though. With the first method I scored a gem for free in this place, the prettier in the lot. Our relationship lasted one full month. She would get off of work at 5am, SMSed to see if I was available, and if I was, would go to my apartment, drink a beer or two, talk a bit, bang me, sleep, bang again, and then leave around 1 or 2pm. No questions asked and no materialistic expectations, save from time to time a few cocktails in Jumbo or wherever before her work. Talk about a nice situation. Even if I went to a disco or had a date and say didn’t get any that night, I always had this cute stripper to fall back on in the morning.
Anyway. Bacardi is not bad, yet if you like more upper-range places, maybe Plus Show on Stefan cel Mare (the club you're talking about ?) could be better. It's more expensive though.

Even if it seems that the new breed of mongers invading the moldovian playground are strictly P4P players, many of the most active posters on this thread still appreciate Chisinau as a place where to play the non-pro chase game.
For this category of guys, who enjoy to make dates (as in the sense of time spent with a girl, courtship, etc) instead of only sex, it's actually interesting to hear about the best places to take dyevs for drinking cocktails, dining out, ect.
Infos about restaurants have their place here. If some posts don't match your tastes or your inclinations, just skip them. That's simple.

You are right by saying that Moldova / Chisinau has a lot to offer. I bought a piece of land / 35 km away from Chisinau situated at a wonderful clean lake. 1200m2 with panorama view overall for a pocket money and still now the prices are dead cheap, and may go down more due to actual reasons. Moldova is a lovely country. I intend to build a little Holidayhouse there. That will be a new place to relax, fish, and improve multilateral relations LOL.
