I definitely had a great time, but I think $120.00 for 90 minutes is not an overpayment. If I had gone up three times that evening, it would have cost me at least $150,00. Sadly or not, I need at least 30 minutes before I pop. I know my limitations, so I never go up more than twice. I have done the math and it is a waste of money if I do so. Believe me, I don't encourage overpayment because it spoils them, they expect the same next time, and gradually raises the price for everyone. Oh, she actually paid for our tacos.

Regarding your taxi cab experience, I have experienced this myself a couple of times. On my most recent visit, when I hopped in the front seat of the cab, another Mexican guy got in the back. I did not mind. When we got to my destination, the Mexican guy got out and thanked the driver. I think they are just getting a free ride tacked onto mine. It seems like a common practice, but if you felt unsafe, then you did the right thing to get out.
As for paying $120 for 90 minutes, that sounds pretty good for TJ to me. Most of those girls in AB ask $60 for 30 minutes, and it has been a while since I asked for 60 minutes, but I think they usually ask $100 (?).

Where did I get my info? Right here...I've read quite extensively the TJ forum before my first TJ experience. I've recently moved to the SoCal area from Chicago two months ago and freely admit that I'm a relative newbie to the TJ scene. But so far, my experiences in TJ (twice a week since moving here) seem to confirm what I've learned from reading this forum.
The AB girls that I've dealt with usually quote $60..I counter with$40. I've had three girls agree to my counter offer of $40, but most stuck to their guns and I usually paid 50-60. If she's really pretty, I don't mind paying her price. My usual MO is two or three different girls for half hour sessions on any given foray into AB, so I can't really comment on longer sessions. But based on what I've read, I'm still convinced #1846 paid a fair price.
You must be some kind of slick talker or have something that the girls really like if you can get away with paying less than what most are. More power to you, if you can get away with it. I'm all for saving a buck, but I'm still not convinced that #1846 paid too much.

If you walk a little further near where all the buses are, you can take a taxi libre. From the border to the Zona will cost about $2.00 during the day and about $3.00 during the night. You get in line which reminded me of catching a cab when I go to Vegas. Everyone gets their own cab.
I also agree, for the time spent you paid a decent price. When I first started coming down to Tj. the pricing was from $20-$40. Now it seems it is between $40 and $60, with an exception here and there, mostly for the better.

i parked at the duty free parking lot ($7.00 for 24 hrs) and walked across. when i got to the yellow taxi stand, i suddenly decided to speak to someone about my taxi experience last friday. i asked one driver if there is a supervisor and he directed me to a guy with a clipboard. i told him what happened and he smiled, and asked me to look around to see if i can see the driver. sure enough, he was standing nearby with some other drivers. the supervisor called him over and he confirmed my story. he said the guys just wanted a ride and apologized for not telling me. he recalled that i was out of that taxi so fast that they all started laughing. no harm, no foul, i guess, and this was confirmed by viagrant's similar experience. i declined his offer to take me to adelitas because i was meeting my buddy at the mcdonald. my buddy and i decided to walk to the bar and it felt good after a long flight and drive.
we walked into adelitas and it was, as expected, packed and hot. i left my buddy and walked upstairs to see if i can get a room for the night. my buddy is driving back afterwards, and i will be asking for disaster if i drove back too. yes, i know there are nearby hotels that are less noisy, and the odds are stacked against me because it is a weekend, but i wanted a room where we could both use for business too. "sorry, there is no room available", said the cashier.
my buddy was already seated and he was practically mauling this lovely lady sitting on his lap. i wondered what he will do upstairs. i excused myself to find jennifer and after about 10 minutes of fighting through the stifling bar, i locate her and we make our way back to my buddy. while relaxing, drinking, and mutual groping, i tell her about my failed attempt to secure a room for the night upstairs. she warned me it is noisy and recommended another hotel. i told her i didn't care about the noise but it would have been nice to just stumble upstairs and pass out. well, she excused herself and comes back after about 5 minutes and tells me that they definitely don't have any room. she actually went upstairs and talked to the cashier at the counter. you gotta love her!!

One thing I don't understand though is your change in demeanor regarding paying $120 again. I am trying to understand the tipping situation in TJ.
In the U.S., I can understand why we give tips to waiters, bus boys, bartenders and the like, because they don't get paid a big hourly wage and the tips compensate for that.

I just wanted to add my two pesos' worth to what Country John and others have said about paying high prices at AB. Don't. I have been there a few times as early as 1Pm on a Sunday. It's kinda spooky, in that it is often as crowded as a weeknight.

The reason I didn't return to TJ for the 2nd time is because when you go that far, you want some pampering. If you manage to get help to nail down a decent hotel, that's good, but then the problem is finding a girl that's willing to go with you.
The problem for the AB hotel is that they are running a tight ship. If they up the price for a dollar, they risk a boycott. I thought I was flexible enough not to ask for extra towels and sheets. I don't know any Spanish so I saved the trouble. But that was a mistake. My girl like to shower, and always before me. We took a total of 4. When she passed that towel to me the last time, it wasn't of much use. I suggest to get 4 towels as a minimum, they are tiny. I'll be more happy with 2 for my feet alone.
As for bed sheets, you need at least two extras. The one provided is in contact with the bed and the bed cover, making it useless. I suggest to put at least two fresh ones on top of the bed cover. The sheets are wafer thin.
The rooms are really steamy - 4 showers every 30 min or so. The water pressure is good, really good. The rooms are tiny so you carry a lot of water out of the shower booth. The floor never have time to dry.
The building seemed to be converted from some office long time ago. There is a waist high window the width of the wall, opening to the corridor! It was covered with blinds. I just came back from TJ last night. This place is awesome. I had planned on banging 5 chicas but only banged three. This was my third trip. Ok Guys, Here’s the deal. I’m an east coast guy who came out to visit Vegas and wanted to get a taste of TJ while I was out there. I’m the type of guy who read almost every TJ and post for the last year to get ready. I also PM’d plenty of WSG mongers who all were very helpful and thus a big “Thank You” is appropriate to all and to Jackson for his great forum. So now to the deal, the whole deal and nothing but the deal.
I spent 2 days and 2 nights in TJ. I was given a guided tour of TJ’s nightlife by the WSG’s own Chuponalgas. I can’t say enough about the generosity of time and effort that Chuponalgas displayed…to you mate, a hundred “thank you’s” are not enough. The nights were Sunday and Monday. I saw the Zona, every decent club and a few not so decent. I saw all the SW’s and most of the club girls and it all comes own to one word. “Adelitas”. You can all go to the other places, the bars, the other clubs (Chicago is a distant "also ran"), you can maybe find your needle in the haystack with the SW’s, you can brave the streets where the element outside definitely have a fear factor with certain unsavory’s, but if you end up anywhere but in Adelitas, then my friend you have truly missed the boat.
(An aside to WSG TJ locals – I am quite certain that many of you regulars have had many great experiences outside Adelitas but my treatise is for the dude who has one or two days and has never visited TJ before.)
The Adelitas female count was the same both evenings, about 50 ladies. Here’s the breakdown. 5 are super hot! I’ve been all over the world and mongered with the best of them and I’m telling you all that the top 5 are super hot by anybody’s standard. There are another 10 that are hot and absolutely do-able, anytime, anywhere. The next 10 are better than almost any SW you’ll see on a street in the US. The next 15 are “no ways” and the last 10 are not with my enemy’s dick! But even these girls belong there…”Why?” You might ask…because many of the locals for some reason seem to feel more comfortable with the nasty talent and since these girls are not busy, they probably can be negotiated down for a cheaper rate. Meanwhile these guys do drink, so the establishment keeps the beer flowing for all.
The male count was 100 on the first night and 50 the second. With 2/3rd’s or more being locals, the competition was virtually non-existent. I had no problem meeting or approaching any of the girls I wanted to meet. My Spanish was bad but improved quickly, its not necessary…just make eye contact and wave the girl over or have the waiter bring the girl over to you…either will work just as well. Once the girl meets you she’ll quickly look for a drink and a few minutes later will ask if you want to go upstairs. It’s that fast!
