It always amazes me how guys bareback poor hookers all over the world without any concern about getting them pregnant. Forget about personal responsibility for a second. I think saying Crystals is in downtown PP is a bit misleading it is actually in Long Beach, a good ways from the centre of town. Turn down the stree beside the baseball stadium it is about half way to the Malecon on the right.

Anybody who's been traveling to the DR for any length of time remembers with great fondness - the summer of 2004! Pres. Hipolito Mejia (el burro) was on his way out the door and the Dominican Peso had sunk to 55RDP to 1 USD!! Some thought the peso itself was going to be eliminated and the country would become "dollarized" (I was consistently getting an exchange of 55 to 1 at a casa de cambio on Ave Tiradentes)
I spent the ENTIRE month of July 2004 in Santo Domingo and boy o' boy did I feel like Bo Bo Rockefeller! ;) The peso was 55 to 1, but none of the prices at the restaurants or at the casas had caught up yet!
The girls in the casas all asked for 2500RDP for TLN ($45) and a delicious dinner at Vesuvio's incl. camarones al la plancha y rabo de langosta with an agreeable glass of Chilean white wine was around $14!

Perhaps I wasn't clear in my post though, the money was essentially a non-issue. I'm semi-retired & consult now. I bill my client at the agreed-to unrestricted Y fare for all travel. Because of my business relationships I also get pretty good deals at Marriotts (I paid $74 at the Renaissance in SD but that included free breakfast & dinner in the concierge lounge & all the sodas I cared to drink) So....assuming I can plan adequately like I did this time....I can easily change my flights to a multi-destination routing later. In this case my side trip to DR was free & I had enough money left over to pay the hotel, every bit of pussy I rented and almost cover the money I got ripped for. Overall I can't complain. I think I was out less than $100 for the side trip even accounting for the theft issue.
I've used this technique to visit many L.A. countries and typically make at least two side trips a month, sometimes four. My last big one was a stopover in Manila on my return from Toronto (I live near Houston). I was able to cover the cost of the air fare & all but about $150 of my hotel bill. I also accumulated more than 40,000 FF miles. Soemtimes it works out well, sometimes just so-so.
But in your case, stick with Craigslist where you can be more choosy. Just watch out for the LE set-ups.

I love the DR but right now Brasil is #1 in my heart the quality and talent they have out there is out of this world and the bodies on them garotas are near to perfection in my eyes. I have been with many different women around the world during my travels as a Marine and also a civilian but at the top for me is the Brasilian woman.For mongering Rio is the best place overall in the world after Bangkok/Pattaya. For instance, if you want to see a chick two hours by bus from Rio city and you travel 12 hours by plane from New York to Rio, the woman will still want you to make the 2 hour bus trip instead of her meeting you in Rio city. Although they may be beautiful physically, all the extra headaches put them under Colombias who are just as beautiful but may not have as much ass.
Now as far as Colombia, I have made the trip to Bogota and a lawyer chick from Cucuta left on the bus the night before to make a 14 hour trip to see me in Bogota. I have many stories from Colombia that go that way. I have only been to DR 3 times and the first was last year. So I really am not able to speak about as if I was seasoned. But it kind of reminds me of Rio before it was widely publicized by the rappers. After that it basically went to shit in the Copa area (didn't affect me much because I do my mongering downtown or in VM). Guys started going down in drones throwing money all over the place and spoiling the women. So now they all want to be high maintanence in a low budget country. The ladies in DR still have that "naïvety" that the Rio girls once had. In that, I mean they will throw out an absurd number but it is not hard to get them down to less than half of that. With all the negotiating skills in the world you would be lucky to get a girl in Rio for 2/3 of her original asking number. She would rather turn her nose up and go home broke.

Haitans and dominicans, while they share an island, have different physical characteristics. To with, Haitans are usually more african looking with high cheekbones and bad hair and/or wear wigs. Dominicans have a different history and are 73% mixed race from many places, while 90& of Haitans are of direct african descent. (figures from Wiki)

Yes, as I said, the DR has much greater diversity and therefore Haitans are usually easier to spot because they have more consistent characteristics. there are also other ways (in person) to tell such as accent, the people they hang around, etc. Also, haitans are more likely to speak better english. but again, who cares?
Further, I suppose you meant that as some sort of dig, but I do think in terms of bad hair, and my education is college level. As a matter of fact, hair is an important element in my attraction to women and I am not alone. Nappy hair is not an attractant for me, nor do horsehair wigs with colored beads light my fire. Sue me.
As to your question of how many times or where have I stayed in the DR, I have over 50 trips to the DR and have been to every corner and have stayed there for months at a time in the past. I have mongered all over the country. We use to bang around Sosua when American's were the minority and appreciated. I lived with a girl there once for going on three months and have taken extended trips all over the country. I just don't go so much anymore since the tourists ran over the north coast and imported bad North American culture. Ok, first of all, I want to thank all of the great posters here for all their wonderful advice and encouragement. It really helped.
I just got back from my first trip to the DR. Spent 3 nights at BBs. This report was going to be a lot longer. (I spent the whole flight back writing it, but then had a hard drive problem and had to reinitialize and use my back-ups, losing all the new stuff.) Sorry, I have forgotten a few details since then, like a few names.
Got into POP on a Friday afternoon and the driver was waiting for me. (I had arranged it in advance with BBs – I strongly advise newbies to do likewise – the taxis rip you off! ) Fell in with a nice guy from NY city – we’ll call him Mr. J. We had a fun time swapping stories, shopping for cigars, etc. Got into BBs, and the chicas were there to greet us. Had a few offers before I even made it to the room, but I kept my head. Got things set up ASAP, and I was back to the bar with a cold one, checking out the talent. Did not take long before I was talked into a happy hour with Morena and Olga. She was free and wanted to know if I’d like to go back up the room with her. Would I? Does a bear sh. Well, you get the idea. Jari is a very attractive young lady, although I thought she looked better with her clothes on (she really knows how to dress to accentuate her assets). She seemed much shorter than I had thought. Ok, first of all, I want to thank all of the great posters here for all their wonderful advice and encouragement. It really helped.
I just got back from my first trip to the DR. Spent 3 nights at BBs. This report was going to be a lot longer. (I spent the whole flight back writing it, but then had a hard drive problem and had to reinitialize and use my back-ups, losing all the new stuff.) Sorry, I have forgotten a few details since then, like a few names.
Got into POP on a Friday afternoon and the driver was waiting for me. (I had arranged it in advance with BBs – I strongly advise newbies to do likewise – the taxis rip you off! ) Fell in with a nice guy from NY city – we’ll call him Mr. J. It reminds me a lot of my first trip to Blackbeard's--also my first trip to the DR--and wanting to write it all down and let the world know what an amazing experience I had, and not being able to talk to anyone about it in the real world. That sense of euphoria will gradually wear off, but I suspect that another DR addict has been born. My advice now, be very careful indeed, because you are ripe for adopting a novia. I just spent a few days at BB and had a wonderful time there. This was also my first experience with DR girls, aka chicas.
Before going there, I read as many posts as I could find on this forum, and I wish to thank all the mongers whose useful posts helped me figure out things out there.
So I landed at Puerto Plata Airport and had arranged for a taxi to pick me up. BB charges $40 per person, and in my opinion, if you're alone, the best is to use their taxi. However, if I were travelling with 2 or 3 friends, I'd hire a separate taxi cab at the airport and save quite a few bucks.
The taxi ride takes about 30' to BB. The resort is located in the area of Costambar (aka Amber Coast) which is west of the main city of PP. Costambar is a gated / secured area. BB is a short walk to the beach. Their website gives an accurate description of their accomodations.
When you get there, just walk through the courtyard to the main desk to check in. As you're walking in, you'll probably see a lot of chicas, and they will check you too. Immediately, I was surprised by the sex appeal of these chicas. Not even 2 minutes had gone, that I had already exchanged suggestive smiles from half of dozen girls. I was already hard.
So I get to my room after paying in cash for my entire stay. It's a rule of BB to pay in advance for your room. Tim, is one of the managers; the other is David. You will also receive the key to the room safe; very important, so you can leave your $$, valuables and passport.
The room and bath was clean, the AC worked very well, and the bed was king size with a firm mattress, TV had many channels including one porno. Also, you do not need to bring a lot of clothing; I had 3 shirts a jean and underwer washed and ironed in 2 hours! Just asked the maid to take care of it an slip her an extra 100 pesos for extra towels too.
After a quick shower, I go back down to where the action is.
Basically, there is one social area including the pool, the open bar and the restaurant where most girls congregate. The other area is the jacuzzi, which is separate and hidden.
While at the bar, I met one of the girls' manager, Elizabeth; the other one is Charo, who is the main girls' manager. Since it was my first visit, Elizabeth showed me the premises and explained how the girls worked (rates, security, health check, etc). As we walked BB, she introduced me to many girls. I was in heaven.
I speak some spanish. Needless to say that it really helped me to communicate with the chicas because most do not speak english. However, you do not have to speak spanish to enjoy BB, but it does help a lot, especially if you want some GFE.
There were a lot more girls than guys. They were all from the DR. The choice was plenty and overall the quality was great. At 7pm, they would change and wear a super sexy outfit for the disco (on the 2nd floor with a bar). During the day, the girls are dressed nice, but no nudity (same for the guys, no nudity is allowed in the public areas- jacuzzi excepted).
Most girls who work at BB are there with another female friend or 2; so it's even easier to get a session with 2 girls. They will offer it even if you do not ask. The most popular is the jacuzzi where the action will start and will end in your bedroom (of course).
As a general rule, the girl(s) hang out by the bar/pool. If you like one girl, you'll probably start by buying her a drink, that she'll share with her "idle" friends (most likely she will order a large Presidente beer). Then the conversation goes on, and it's up to you to give a signal to go to the room for a short session (1 to 2 hrs, 1500 pesos or approx $40!!).
The girl(s) do not look at the time and are not in a hurry. I would tip her a little extra or would offer her a meal after, if the session went well. Treat the girl well for a better experience. Although the girls at BB are pros, YMMV.
I liked that before each session, the girl would shower and clean her body. She had condoms; however, BBBJ is standard over there.
I did not stay all the time inside BB. The beach is an easy 5' walk. I took a chica out and we walked to the beach where we had a late lunch at a small restaurant; I bought a grilled fish and rice for $10.
Another time, I went to a local pizza place a few minutes away from BB; nice pizza and beer. A little further, there is Jennys Market where you can change money (slight better rate than BB's).
I also took a chica as a "guide". We went to Puerto Plata and to the teleferico (nice mountain ride) where the view of the city and coast is great.
There is no exit fee at BB, so the girl is free to come in and out as she pleases.
With respect to the bar and restaurant, you can pay cash for each transaction or choose to charge it to your room. Beware that these girls know how to run you bar and food tab (with your OK of course). When I checked out, BB did not give me a detailed daily transaction for the food and bar; however, the amount seemed right.
You can also buy at BB the V pill or the C pill.
There is a free WIFI internet connection that can be picked up in the lobby and restaurant area; they also have a free computer hooked to the internet.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Had a great time with many sexy and friendly chicas, ate good food and it did not cost me a fortune. I'd not hesitate to return to BB with a few friends and party with the chicas.

Villa California is in Playa Chiquita, near the casino, very handy for the late night stroll and Johnny's sandwich stand. It is so close to the casino that I walked home one night with a girl in spike heels on my shoulders.

Saw the video on YouTube talking to the Haitianas on the street in Sosua and found it interesting. There quite a few good vids on YouTube. Arrived on Sat. For the bikini contest. Good selection of girls. Of the 15-30 girls roaming the premises I'd say about half are doable and 7-10 I'd classify as hot. My only complaint about the contest is, as other members have accurately commented, that BBs drags the contest out to sell drinks. My friend paid what he thought was the buy in amount for the game. When he got to the table turns out it was a cash game and in addition to the chips he already bought he had to put down another $1, 000. 00 DR. Within 15 minutes he was down $110. 00 US. I came over from the slots and said we are gettting out of here. One of the girls working at the casino askd why I don't play a table game and I said that I don't get anything out of throwing money away and that I'm into gambling on chicas.
We went back towards BBs and stopped at Solo Mia at 11:00om to share a pizza and a bruchetta. Its right up the block from BBs and open 6:00pm. 12:00pm. The chicas love to go their for dinner. After our snack we walked back to BBs where there was still action by the bar. The bar apparently stays open till 12:00am and there was still a number of lookers arount. My buddy was still pissed about getting ripped off so he went to sleep and I ended up with a red head with a stunning body.

One thing though, the contest is far too long, and apart from 4 of the 16 most of the girls didn't seem too into it. Barbie being a good example: amazing body (the blonde with large chest), but pretty disinterested. This must come from the girls being told they have to enter, as opposed to it being voluntary, when they could be earning money elsewhere.
