I ended up giving her I think something like $60 + taxi fare for a few hours.
Ballerina that I picked up at La Chorrera. She was great. I would have hooked up with her again but she went home for the holidays. The holidays actually slowed things down considerably in Havana. Many of the hottie girls from small towns went home to see their families.

We stopped on the side of the road on the way from Cienfuegos to Trinidad. The sun was starting to set. These pictures can't do justice to how beautiful the background was. It's impossible to capture from a camera.

Typical small school outside of a small town. We stopped to take a photo and the teacher came out. We could hear her giving lectures to the class. She said we could take pictures from afar. Seaman gave the two kids on the porch some gum.

This is probably my favorite picture of the trip because it was so unexpected. We were taking a picture across the road when I heard 2 little girls yelling for Seaman and I to take their picture. There was an old house frame that you can see that no one lived in and the girls were dying for us to take their picture. We ended up giving them some candy.

Thanks for the non-chica pictures. For those who have never gone to Cuba, they certainly showed how life is for the people there. They certainly show how the embargo has affected the economic life of the people there, especially after the break up of the Soviet Union.
I can't imagine how it was like riding in one of those 1950s cars. Now I know where Francis Ford Coppola filmed Godfather II, in old Havana itself. Just kidding, but it sure looks that way.

Its true, I for one look forward to seeing pictures of chicas conquered by fellow mongers, but the picture of the Havana side street is great. There is something erotic and romantic, yet depressing about those dilapidated buildings. So, in my opinion, the photos are a good visual diversion and gives one a sense of the monger "playing-field".

Here is a photo of La Chorrera where we picked up several girls. There is a $5 entrance fee to get in. There are several girls in the parking lot too. It's kind of surreal because there are many guys and families that hang out in the area for some reason. We saw a few todlers a few night and thought it was strange they would hang out in this area. It's located at the end of the Malecon near Miramar.

Here is a typical building on the Prado. Look at all the clothes hanging out to dry. Of course people there don't have drying machines. I did see a few laundry machines in the casa particulars.

We were walking down the Prado one day and I was surprised to see this drunk guy. There are surprisingly almost no homeless people that I saw. Looks like he had one too many Cuba Libres. (Notice his Havana Club t-shirt). All the guys that park the cars in the parking lot wore these t-shirts.

I took this picture one day while walking down a street in Trinidad. This was my favorite city. The historic center has cobblestone streets and the buildings were beautiful.

Hey guys. Thanks for the kind words about photos. I bought a new digital camera before the trip. It is hands down the best digital camera I've ever owned. In fact, I don't use a normal camera anymore. The quality when I print them out is as good as any SLR camera. It's the Olympus C-50 5 meg. camera. It is dubbed the smallest 5 meg. camera in the world.
It was a little pricey at about $450 plus another $85 or so for a 128 MB card. The only negative is that you have to close the cover each time you want to view the pictures you just took. Latinas always want to look at each picture after you take it...
Johnny's Rio Club is in Miramar. It's at the beginning of Miramar. Just go under the tunnel and it's the first right after the tunnel. Any taxi driver will know the place.

I love taking photos. My pictures are only a glimpse of the beauty of Cuba. I found myself more enchanted with Cuba for it's natural beauty and the people then the hobby scene. I just didn't like hobbying there. It wasn't a good feeling to know that a girl is risking 4 years in jail if she gets caught.
Even the hardcore hobbyist would feel horrible if something happened to her. I'll definitely go back to Cuba and maybe even hobby but not returning for the hobby scene. Far too many places to go with less oppression.

I am a Republican, and despite what the opponents imply, we are not asexual.
I read today of President Bush's charges of "sex tourism" in Cuba.
I usually don't trust politicians, but this seems to be clearly an election-year issue. There is a large Anti-Castro vote in South Florida.
Every post I have read on this forum is how tough the police are on hookers - even Cubans talking to gringos.
Does anyone have any information that I don't get out of our newspapers?

This is a view of Cienfuegos from the top of a restaurant. The green building behind the trees in the middle of the pic was some kind of club. It was a great place to pick up chicas. You didn't even have to go inside because so many of them would hang around out front.
The hotel Jagua was right across the street from this place.

Here's a view of the malecon. Two weeks I spent there and it only rained one afternoon for about 20 minutes. Even with the rain, it still looked beautiful.
By the way, you can walk along this road almost any time of the afternoon or evening and the girls will approach you. They'll ask you where you're from, or just go "psst, psst!" This makes it really easy to tell which ones are up for the game.

I'm really impressed with the level of interest I've received over this picture. I was told by another member that it was a '55 Plymouth Savoy. The unfortunate thing is that only part of the car's model name was still left on the hood.
While I was there, I also saw a '58 or 59 Cadillac that was running with an inline 6 russian diesel engine from a truck! It looked kind of cool to see that Caddy go by with a rich, black plume of diesel exhaust behind it.
Too bad I never took a pic of THAT, ah well.

4 Of us went we stayed in hotel but got to much hassle, so 3 of us got apartments in the road behind Hollywood Hotel. The other guy stayed in the Hotel with all our valuables. Rented apartment for $15 dollars a day. Meet all the girls on the walkway in front of Hotel. The big girl is there.

About the car, I am 99% sure that it is a '56 Plymouth Belvedere. By the way, I am going to Cuba for the first time in December:-)

The prices he stated can be had for both. A casa can be had in Centroabana can be had for $15 a night. One is listed in the Lonely Planet Cuba guide book. That rate can be easily had for a longer term rental. I've had touts offer me rooms in Pinar Del Rio for $10.
As for the girls, you drive the price, not them. Dogboy did some good price driving. Most guys are lazy and detour from the verbal price spar.
Prices are accurate as of December 2003 like the girls you have to barter . Remember a good wage for hotel workers is $5.00 a month , the coppers earn the most $40.00 a month. Easy to get an apartment we got one an unofficial one $15.00 a night. My mate stayed with family $10.00 a night in rooom in casa girls no problem. Barter and hunt keep the prices down, more for the Crystal and Buccanero .

We call them "Dolmush", because they get off only when 5 people fill it up. But, much cheaper than a taxi fare. That's the system !

It's a 1956 Plymouth, either a Belvedere or a Savoy. I had a 55 some years ago, almost the same car expect the grill is a little different.
Coming back to the original meaning of this board: posting photos. This one I took in a flat I rented for ten days in Av. Prado. The bedroom had a nice view to the sea - which even the girls enjoyed.
Thats where an invitation to an ice cream can lead to.

Vedado is a great place to rent a casa, esp. around the Habana Libre Hotel. Lots of small neighborhood bars with lots of locals (at least the ones that have cash to spend.)
You can easily pull semi-pros out of these places and pay $15 to $40. It's a nice change from the tourist-packed bars.

I have to agree that Cuba is not the mongering location it used to be even just a couple years ago.
But my travels there are no longer for that reason...at least it's not the main reason.

I am going to Cuba mid June, can anyone tell me what its like at that time of year in terms of the weather?

If the immigration officer notices the two entry stamps, he will know that you were in Cuba.
The key, if not obvious to you, is to never, ever confess.
As he sits behind the booth holding your passport, he'll spend about 20 seconds trying to get you to confess: "You have two entry stamps, sir. Where did you go in between these dates?"
Just make something up.
Can you imagine how much money the government would have to spend to investigate everyone comming back to the US through Bahamas with 2 entry stamps in their passport?

Just tell them you had to go to one of the outlying islands, but since it was so small there was no entry recorded for that island/ or immigration wasn't staffed.
But you had to use the main airport to leave and return, so that's why you had 2 entry stamps. I believe the onus is on them to prove that you were in Cuba and spent money there, so tough for them.
