The other side of the argument is seen by them as total bullshit!

They have a problem regarding foreigners entering China for the purpose of disrupting the games, etc. So, they are having a crackdown on visas and doing some price gouging. This is a natural way of reacting when you are angry, you try to strike back.

They really do not like doing it, because keeping us out is bad for business. I expect we will probably return to normal mode gradually, after the Olympics.

I just gets to show that there is no single method. It depends on your personality and expectations. I prefer to have my girls lined up ahead of time. I am not espousing a 'rule' here guys. Just a general observation that some of you have confirmed, you cannot always judge these gals by what they say.

After I get a positive response from my initial CFF message, I almost always chat with them further on MSN or Yahoo messenger. Yes, this takes a little time but that does not bother me. As I said before you gotta separate the wheat from the chaff and this is a part of the process.

The gal in question here sent me some somewhat revealing photos on email (not nudes but more revealing than on CFF) so to be honest I had an inkling there might be more even though she wanted the first date to include her friend.

But this is China and what I call the land of "smoke and mirrors" when it comes to dating.

In the case of China Love, I can assure you 100% of the girls on their website are through agents. China Love (www.chnlove.com) is a company based out of Hong Kong, they do not control any of the girls rather, they act as a conduit by providing the website, name and web ranking. Girls cannot post their profiles on China Love individually. China Love recruits agencies in China to belong to their network and it is these agencies that pay China Love. They also make money on the foolish men who buy tokens to write these agents (whom they think are the gals themselves).

2. If she is through an agency, I can assure you they will respond to each and every email, as long as they see you are sincere (sucker?) and not a playboy or a “fantasizer”. The majority of the agents here in China, know they normally cannot recoup their time and money spent through the gals, many of the gals will not pay anything. If they do pay something, it won't be until the agency can produce them a man. That being said, most agencies take these girls free of charge, but it is a back-loaded agreement, the girls signs an agreement that the agency will be in TOTAL control of the process, to include reading and writing all emails. So for some of you fella’s that express your heartfelt feelings to your internet love, guess what? Some employee of this agency is the one reading your words! The gal may or may not get the emails (based on the agency rules), but it will be screened and censored by the agency to delete any information (i.e. phone #, address, etc.) that can allow the possible couple to circumvent the agency and their fee. The agency expects to recover their fees through the man and the gal, knowingly agrees to this. These agents feel if they can land a guy; hook, line and sinker, he will shell out the cash to be with his "true love". OAHCross cultural relationships already are difficult if you know each other for a while and come from similar educational backgrounds (I have lots to tell.). But really, you can have all Chinese girls if you wave with a US passport as ticket for a (presumable? , no offence) better life. Is that the basis for a longterm relationship? I doubt. Did you see her real pictures? What does an internet chat tells you about a person? I have tons of the sweetest sms and spent a lot of personal time with a Chinese girl who is the most lovely person I ever met and really seems to be fiercly in love but it turned out I did not know her at all. And believe me if the going gets rough they turn to furious beasts in a split second. So it takes a long time to build a sustainable relationship and then you can consider marriage. Especially younger, ill-educated women are even less prepared to handle these challenges.

However, when you marry them, all of their problems become your problems.

So go out with these girls for a year or two then decide if you really want to get married.

I have known some people who tried it and it worked out -- or maybe they were just putting up with the problems, and, being young, they had no experience with a better mate to comapre it with.

I have also known some people who tried, got divorced, and appeared to have escaped major problems from the divorce. But then, it's possible the guy didn't have much so he didn't regret losing half (I think he gave her the house).

What she will do, after divorcing you, is marry a bunch of Chinese men, bring them to Germany, and divorce them, collecting 100,000 RMB from each.

Aside from the illegality of all of it, there is also the chance that she will get caught and lead the cops back to you.

There was some woman from Latin America who did that in Florida, problem is, she married 5-6 guys all at the same time and immigration service caught up with her.

All European countries try to restrict immigration and there is public opinion too many foreigners take away these valuable workplaces of cleaning ladies, gardener etc. (which no local would ever touch) so there is a lot of propaganda and sentiment going on. Sure there are the usual idiots and there have been some conflicts, often in poorer parts of the countries, but hey nobody used to go to the Bronx or certain parts of Washington, but does that mean in 99% of the countries you are not safe as a foreigner?

Immigration law is like everywhere, a bureaucratic process, depends whom you meet as civil servant handling your case. A friend of mine married a Chinese in Holland (because they both studied there) returning home the alien police told them they were a) illegal in the country and b) not rightfully married (both without any reasoning). The guy earns decently, big house etc. etc. In the end they got the papers without any further request, so what was the fuzz about? Shying people away, showing power of a small armchair civil servant. And as you can see in my post below, there is a lot of abuse everybody knows about and if you get the wrong person in immigration you are fucked. One guy took years to get his wife from the Ukraine inside Germany because a person with the same last name (first names different) did a Visa violation ages ago in another European country...
But there is no general tendency just some bureaucracy that needs to be handled cleverly and friendly, like everwhere in the world.

There is no real racist tendency in Europe or Germany growing at the moment.

What has not gone down though is the heart-bleeding do-goodery still very common in Germany. It has gone back some, but it is still strong among the many pseudo-tollerant who prefer to use immigrants show off their own "enlightment" and being VERY appologetic on behalf of immigrants if anything bad is reported. So immigration issues in Germany are pretty much grind to dust between:

- A) one big millstone insisting "there is no problem at all you fascist" (which is the mainstream attitude with our political caste) and
- B) another smaller millstone playing to xenophobia (fishing from the political fringe for those disgrunted with A).

In between there is not a whole lot of room for practical, sensible sollutions.

Means: Given that the "there is no problem, just isolated incidents involving youngsters with islamischem Migrationshintergrund (that's too pc to translate into proper English), neo nazis are our real problem" attitude is still pretty much dominating the political caste I DOUBT that the immigration prerequisites in Germany will make it very hard for Phil1980 anytime soon.

A married friend of mine paid only US$14k to a guy in the USA to marry his Chinese girlfriend. When they got to the interview at US INS, they split them up. The the guy freaked and spilled the beans. They fined the girl 10k and sent her back to China. Ended up costing my friend US$24k and he is still playing with himself.

I don't know all the details since it is a fairly new thing and I don't have personal experience or know anybody that got one. As I understand, it is available on a case by case basis i.e. no guarantees. It is not based on a working permit. If you have one of these you are already entitled to a residence permit without marriage to a Chinese. The normal period is one year, but I know cases of senior executives that have received 5 years. I suggest that you contact the Guangzhou PSB for full details.

All my clients wanted to take the girl out of China, not move in. I do have a buddy who did just get married to a Chinese girl and moved here, but I think they are just issuing him an "L" Visa, Dependent status.

FYI, my attorney in the US is telling me that the current wait time for K-3 immigrant visa applications (married in China then wanting to bring your bride to the US) is in excess of 18 months. Non-immigrant K-1 visas, aka fiance visa allowing your bride to be to travel to the US for marriage, is about a 9 month timeline.

Currently I have a one year resident visa, which I renew every year. Of course I also have the alien employment permit and the health permit. I have found that working with a Chinese visa expeditor makes this a vastly simplified process, although it probably isn't the cheapest way to go. At first I tried it on my own, but after several tries I found that it was best to just use guanxi, pay some money, and get the visa done. I've asked about getting a longer term resident visa, especially later this year after I get married, but was told this is really difficult. The registered capital for my Chinese company is less than $1m, which seems to be the magic number for a Chinese "Green Card".

Been mongering quite a few years but haven't really thought much about it until last week when I met up with a young man I've seen grow up/known since he was in short pants - on his way into China. From the U.S., he was going in with a dozen or so of his buddies celebrating a "pre-wedding-bachelor's week" - all late 20's/early thirties with raging hormones...and of course lots of newbie questions for me.

Tried to give them as good advise as I can and as many leads as I could provide them - which was when my paternalisit instincts kicked in, and told them "what happens in China...."

Here was a group of bright, young, ambitious guys on their start to life - and all of a sudden I felt it necessary to tell them - "Yeah go enjoy it, live it up - but just forget it all when you get back to your normal lives in the States. If you think that what happens in China and with these Chinese gals is what is reality - it will thoroughly screw up your marriages, your relationships with the opposite sex, the rest of your lives... All of it is nothing, just a fantasy, a man's disneyland - nothing more.

And you know what - it made me think about my own life, about my always and the necessity to separate my mongering life from my regular life, about how my mongering could easily have led me astray etc.

And it prompts me to write here to sort of remind y'all.

I forgot to mention that these young guys are all American born ASIANS - Chinese, Korean, Japanese etc. and that I am Chinese.

To me, all this is of course par for the course, but the danger I saw for these young men is that they may "transport" back to America the reality/thought process/morality of what they experienced in China may into their day to day existence back in the States.

These young guys were brought up under the mores and mode of conduct as exist in the States - marry, work hard, bring home the bacon, raise a family, die. And oh yeah, once a blue moon sneak off to some strip joints, negotiate the maze of LEO's to score a hooker, or perhaps have an affair with a neighbour or a secretary. And not EVER enjoy the full blown sexual freedom that most guys in Asia routinely enjoys, nor the full blown facilities/totally matter of fact services provided for guys.

You experience all this in China, get enamored with this mode of counduct and try to make it work the same way back home....and they'll just screw up their lives. Lives that their parents slave away for to put them through school, fathers sacrificing previous care-free lives in Asia - just to give the next generation a better start etc.

A lot can be said about the relative merit of different systems and mores of conduct in different parts of the world - but to try to transplant a radically different life style into one as so entrenched as the one that exists in the States only will bring disaster. That's what I'm going on about.

I am living proof of the fact that mongering can screw up your life. After I got my first taste of mongering in Asia, I became addicted and could not stop. I tried to replicate the experience in the USA, but did not want to pay huge money so I did mostly SWs. Although I was never busted, I had a few very, very close calls. I would spoil myself from time to time at a massage place or with an escort, but my budget did not allow that often. My fiance caught me with a SW in my car in the USA and that was the end of our relationship. I kept spending more and more time in Asia and less in the USA. Normally the vaginal fluids are clear and mainly odorfree and also not distinctively tasting. This has to do with indeed as said the bacterial balance and the acidity of the region. The normal bacterial flora offers protection against "bad" germs. If this balance gets destroyed yeasts or anaerobic bacteria can take over and they produce substances that smell. It is basically the same like food getting bad as these bacteria produce e.g. ammonia. In the end this leads to chronic infections and that is the real bad smell. Main factors causing this are bad or wrong hygiene (soap destroys the low ph, so frequent showers can be a problem if not using a proper ph neutral feminine wash, which exists also in China but is not so popular due to some historic misbelieves) and of course frequent intercourse, long, dry intercourse and not using condoms increases the risk. So in general if there is odor you should think twice. There is a small effect on food but what I just described is the overruling principle.

On urin that is a different story, mainly related on the concentration of the urin and certain substances excreted (aspargus!)

I wanted to honor my 100th post to you and all the serious seniors here and build on what you said to show my respect and thanks to many guys here! I am still a total newbie and as some of you know stumbled in this by accident and was also on the way of screwing up a life I should be thankful for. As weird as it sounds without here I would have never realised on which dangerous way I was and I was deeply impressed how much some people actually help each other on a mongering site of all places. As I understand it - and IMHO only please (please no flames!!) - there's several variables on the dynamics of a BBS.

Lets say ST is 200 and LT is 500, its quite common for the monger to pay the Momma 100 up front, with the rest payable to the gal directly. If the gal knows that its gonna be a slow day/night i.e. Mondays, she'll most likely try her best for a LT as she gets 400 from the monger (less perhaps 50 or so extra to the Mommie) i/o just 100. If on the other hand she knows her place is hopping, she'll be as likely to only want ST (remember besides the 100 for ST, she also usually gets some xiaofei).

For the Momma, its in her best interest to be collecting 100 several times a day for a girl (less the amounts payable to other parties up the food chain). The momma also wants to determine if the session is LT or ST and she needs to make sure that she gets the extra 50 IF the gal is going LT - and thus the reason for the phone calls at approx 1 hour - to determine if it is LT or ST and if she gets the extra 50 or not. Another more important variable is of course the gal herself and her 'experience and expectations ' of the monger. They have introduced new ID cards in China, last year, if I am correct, centrally registered and electronically readable to get away with some of the former local fraud. I believe that you would agree that a large majority of gals in China really does not have too much choice as to who they are with - not if their intentions are "economics" and not romantic. In China, since there is a huge disproportion ratio of girls to guys. As a result, the very pretty ones are taken fast. It is estimate there are about 50-60 million more guys to girls. An average girl most likely has a boyfriend by 21-23. By 25-27 they are usually married. What’s left over are the less desirable or the type of girl you don’t want your parents to meet for a serious relationship. "Oh, mom dad, I meet her at a BBS or KTV". Another way looking at it she just turned 19 while you are over 50+. I have met a few that are 19-20 and pretty, too young for a relationship.

I have met several nice ones in the last few years. They understood that I have a family on the otherside of the Pacific and would even consider being a quiet 'er tai'. They made all type of promises that they will not go out just as long as they can have a better life, affording a nicer apt, etcc. There is much less stigma being an 'er tai' than bring home a laowai. I guess they still are traditional in the 'face' concept.

I do know the a lot of them do not want to go abroad to a country that they really do not know. It is a bit scary since most of them are fairly uneducated. Meaning just a rudimentary high school education and maybe a bit of vocational knowledge.

It is acceptable for a Chinese girl to marry or be a mistress to a man twice+ their age. As you know for thousands of years many men had multiple concubines. I think my great grandfather had atleast six of them, and what I found out that he live to a ripe old age of 90+ before expiring in the arms of one of the concubines. In old China I think the rationale was that you can have as many as you can afford it.

There are so many factors, it is really hard to generalize. However, to add food for thought, I know a 43yo Hong Kong woman who is professionally successful, attractive for her age, and she absolutely prefers Caucasian men - she refuses to marry an Asian man. She grew up in a family of modest means, good family life, close to her siblings, etc.

She is still single, and has just not found the right man to marry. She absolutely wants to get married though.

Her problem is I think because she was raised in the United States, she is confused with her own identity.

As for women changing their appearance to look more "Western", it is old news for Shanghainese, and increasingly Beijing, women to get double eyelid surgery, breast surgery, nose or eye shaping, etc. This is old news in Japan as well, where they do bellybutton re-shaping.

Many of the pros I have been with who have small breasts don't think their breasts are big enough, and they are embarrassed by them. (I usually think their breasts are proportional for their frame, yet they all insist they are too small. I usually tell the girl her breasts look cute!)

This is in part due to personal insecurity and Western influence, no doubt provoked by Women's fashion magazines among other things.

1. It isn't always about sex and being the laowai here, it is 99.9% of the time the WG's that always ***** about TONG, TONG, TONG. I have never heard this from any non-pro I was dating.

2. Foreigners make up such a small percentage of the population here, that you just don't see it that often in such a city like SZ with 14 million people.

seajthese days, its hard to generalise about chinese women. the country and people have become so much more diverse over the last decade, especially younger people.

1. don’t take what any girl tells you too seriously. she might tailor what she says to your situation (ie if your chinese, she will say she doesn’t like whities). many chinese and taiwanese girls have told me they don’t want to be with chinese or taiwanese guys for various reasons (too chauvinistic, too jealous, too insecure, don’t wanna be controlled by his family, i’m too tall/fat for them, prefer westerners, latins, black guys, etc.). these are just stereotypes or excuses she can cite to indicate interest to a guy she talking to. i’ve also seen it used in reverse (ie telling a guy she likes a different race or type in order to challenge and test him when she is in fact quite interested in him).

2. more importantly, girls don’t always know what they really want. in the states, girls online will often list qualities they are seeking (nice, sincere, treat me like a queen, etc.). but guys who fit this bill tend to do badly and get lots of rejection and even abuse. but i’ve seen guys who post over-the-top cocky no bullshit adds receive tons of replies from these very same girls who often end up sleeping with them on the first date. some girls who have family or even peer pressure to date within their race may end up totally rebelling. the forbidden fruit is naturally seductive. same analogy sometimes applies to white girl / black guy relationships, especially a few decades ago.

3. china is huge with much diversity and girls from all types of backgrounds. as with most countries, generalizing this way distorts reality. there are plenty of girls from most if not all backgrounds who will happily if not preferably date ‘desirable’ white guys. and there are also plenty of girls who will only date guys from their own region who speak the same dialect. and yes, i’m sure ‘desirable’ chinese men from the western world will have lots of attractive choices all across china.

4. you alluded to the stigma of darker skin. i don’t doubt that a lot chinese look down on people with darker skin. but again, this is far from universal, at least when it comes to accessing a guy’s sexual market value. i am aware of certain groups of chinese girls in larger cities who prefer to date black men and often end up hanging out with the african guys. some of these girls have amazing bodies too – tall with wider hips and round pigus. perhaps many local guys are intimidated by such girls? i’ve even heard that some of these ‘hip-hop groupies’ from better economic backgrounds will help support their african boyfriends.

5. what do i mean by ‘desirable’? i believe lots of things go into this formula. carrying yourself like a confident (doesn’t mean cocky) leader around men and women naturally attracts women, chinese or otherwise. speaking good chinese combined with a personality which enables you to connect easily with these girls will expand your prospective market and choices enormously. of course different personalities will attract different girls but in general, it helps a lot to be outgoing and funny in a way that translates across different cultures. being younger or at least appearing somewhat youthful usually helps (not every chinese women is willing to date a guy who looks old enough to be her father or even uncle). oh, and please don’t tell me looks don’t play an important role with many of these girls. perhaps, on average, chinese girls go for a somewhat different type than an average western girl. large muscular bodies are probably less appreciated in the “middle kingdom” and some chinese girls might even say these types of guys are kepa. but slightly tall (say 180~190 cm) and fairly slim is good. as for foreign faces, i believe david beckham is widely considered handsome by women across china. chinese women may also analyze your features according to certain generic principles from physiognomy (xiangxue) to inform their perception of you and your prospects in life. finally, there is money. and yes, it’s great to be rich, ‘glorious’ even. apparent wealth or a business card with a high-powered title from at famous firm carry high prestige and give a man big face. but i think the smartest guys will play this card wisely and carefully if they want to avoid falling into a pure sugar daddy role and the high material expectations which go with it. i believe the higher you score on the other factors above, the easier it will be for you to avoid this trap and still get lots of quality action.

6. getting non-p4p action for most men in china requires work. if you are passive, don’t be surprised if you spend most of your time alone and dateless. i’ve seen some guys with pretty good tiaojian (good looking and young enough with a good job) in china complaining that the social scene in china is tough. but if you work the internet, approach attractive strangers in the right way, build friendships with some cool locals or connected expats, and accept rejection as a necessary part of the process, you should rise to your potential according to your desirability, much of which can be improved by positive steps on your part.

There are 2.28 Qatari males for one woman. Kuwait, Samoa, UAL, even Greenland have much more men to one woman than China. Anyone making an issue out of it? Anyone accusing Greenlanders of selectively aborting their girls, or dumping them into the crack of a glacier after birth?

Well, the biggest issue is how relevant it is to us. I don't think it is at all, because:

Money plays a huge role in getting women/girls in China. The average Chinese man (90-95%) is dirt poor by western standards. So you are really competing against the other 5% or so. Or if you are Zhuren, probably only against 0.1%.

And then there is Zhuren's point, the skewed male/female ratio may not be nearly as big as some reports suggest. I agree with this too. Have met many girls who told me they have never been properly registered and were raised on the sly by grandparents. Never heard about a guy in this situation.

Hey guys. I just got over all the tightened visa regulations and finally will be moving over to SH in a 2 weeks time to work as an executive in one of the local entertainment industry companies. From what I've read over here, there's a lot of experience by rather older guys, but this is not my situation (I'm in late 20's, long time adrenaline sports enthusiast).

I do believe ratios make a significant difference when they get past a certain level. I did my first 2 years of university at an engineering college with at least 4 guys to each girl. And plain to average girls on campus were elevated to 9 and 10 status. OK, that's a pretty extreme ratio.
