All this talk and fear about hotel room raids has made me quite worried and also wondering what is the actual situation I'm Chang Ping. As it so happens, I met up with a friend whose interest it is in more guests staying in Chang Ping and so he was more than happy to tell me what he knows and does not mind at all that I would spread the word.

1. If you are going to have a friend with you, DO register her with the hotel; GA is only concerned about prostitution (which is a crime) and not adultery which is only a moral issue. When the GA check the hotel register, they do their own profiling, but according to my friend, they usually are on the look out for rather suspicious single stayers and would many times review CCTV footage to determine if the fellow has any unregistered visitors. This is how hotel room checks usually happens.

2. For those of you who expect to have multiple friends come over, best for you to get "friendlier" with the front desk and make sure that the replacement friend also replaces the previous friend in the register.

3. Unlike what most people thought. Including myself. The hotel does not register all their guests with the local PSB; they only register partially as they cannot afford to pay all the taxes, plus they need to have some unreported income to satisfy all the various people and departments etc. So chances are, even if you and your friend are registered with the hotel, such info is mostly kept in-house.

You may now be thinking that my friend would say anything to me as his main interest is in filling up his hotel rooms. But common sense tells me that he has more to lose if his information is not correct and as a result more hotel room raids happen.

Also, please take what I report here at face value and not come back to me if anything untoward does happen to you. Caveat emptor!

The days of sauna are over.

Almost all will be turned into hotels. Girls will be delivered on a COD basis and all have to leave by 10 pm.

I think Dongguan is going to do it tough in the next 10-15 years; manufacturing is declining and the sex industry is on its knees. There is not a lot of worthy tourism stuff.

JB.Exactly right, some China motels advertised price is for a bed in a multi-bed room (strangers), so be sure when you book that a private room is quoted.

Just a little "on the ground report" as I was in Chang Ping until a couple days ago.

Great live band, theécor and most importantly, attentive and personable serving staff! Some good English speakers too!

I also called a few of my old mommies and actually got sent duplicate pictures of girls from different mommies – thus leading me to believe that there is just a limited "Pool" of girls available who now works through different mommies there. A truly sad state of affairs.

Thanks for the update as I will be travelling to CP in mid August. Can you tell me the name of this "hot new club" or its proximate location? I think after reading this forum the past few months and hearing from other people, the safe bet for me is just go to clubs.Its called "Liquid" and its at the new Peninsula Marketing center. Half way between the Miraton and EuroAsia Hotels.

Please report back how it is as I only went during their grand opening and that night is probably not representative as to how this club really is.

I wasn't actually going to bother, but since I have received multiple PM / Email etc. Enquiries.

This is what I have been told happens when the GA visits a hotel; and I don't know / would think nobody really cares if supposed foreign hotel or whatever hotel, just hotels in Chang Ping. They would first go through the hotel register and note down certain rooms occupied by a single male. I don't know how and why they chose some names and not others, but I was told that they had their own profiling methods.

Then they would review the RECENT CCTV video footage of the view of the hallways on certain floors and then go up to knock at some of the doors on the floor viewed. After explaining this, my friend suggest that the best way to lessen the problem would be to for sure check in your lady companion; in fact, if you do not want to unduly attract attention, you should just let that name remain on the hotel register.

This is of course unless you have close relations with the hotel managers / front desk and they would take the trouble to help you out to totally "clean-up your trail. " But since this is probably not the usual case, then just let that name remain on the register as the GA checking the video footage for only the past hour so would not really have the means to figure out if the lady knocking on the door is the one registered or another one. This is of course not absolute as they of course can view the video footage of when the first friend showed up, but according to my friend, they've never asked to so view and opines it's just too much trouble when there ARE so many easier guests to target.

Anyway, just IMHO and what I learned from somebody whose interest it is in filling up hotel rooms. And of course no absolutes / Caveat bloody Emptor!

Having been in CP recently, I can say to go to KTV there is alot of work, with high risk and potential low reward.

CP has been napalmed.

Visited HuiHua KTV with promise of seeing small lineup or at least flipping through photos on manager's phone.

To call in lineup and send away rejects with 50 or cab fare. What really happened is that I had seen photos.

The night before (to insure that it is possible) on manager's phone. The following night he would not show.

Because later he explained they had a tip off and he didn't want to be caught 'finding' friends to drink with.

Therefore he wouldn't show or call in anyone, a friend of mine had photos and called over a few friends who.

Were below the quality of their photos (sans one which was kept). We ended up spending 1 k for room and.

3 dozen beer and DJ for a crappy boring experience. The one kept was a part-timer who had a local shop and.

Was likely making up for lack of shop revenue having been a kept girl before and now had no supporter.

She was very cool and very sexy lots of fun, but not worth the KTV experience. Miraton apparently had.

DJ lineups as well as Eurasia. Eurasia had them until the PoPo decided to go get the girl from a customer room.

Jailed her and extorted 8 k from here (payable based on the going rate of 5/15/20). So that word as spread.

And now alot of choices are avoiding CP because of the risk.

Fuhao also did the DJ thing and apparently selection was decent (on a Sunday) this was from a trusted friend who.

Went to checkout. So we tried to go 3 days later and they had a 'computer' problem. They simply closed one day.

Opened another. Again alot of effort for what?

The bars. All seemed to be going well, with 18 Palace being alot of fun. At 18 you can spend the same 1 k.

Get 3 dozen beer, snacks and bring your own to a much livelier and louder place. I BELIEVE that 18 has rooms.

Upstairs for private parties, though I have neither been and cannot confirm or deny, just saw some lovelies going.

Through a door to an apparent upstairs area. (note Cali Red used to have a KTV area which I think is long gone.

But I haven't asked). Rates at 18 Palace is about 300 for a dozen beer, Bud is cheaper, whiskey with green tea.

Goes for 600 ish. Fee for table fruit and snacks about 80, if you want to reserve a sofa (seats about 8) it is.

280 plus alcohol, there is no minimum spend. Nice way to relax and take in the view, dice is always available to play.

It's like doing VIP table service at a club (shenzhen is similar setup). Great thing about many bars is that you.

Don't finish your whiskey you can get a ticket and come back another day and they bring you back your bottle (you hope).

And whatever you had left over. Note they won't save less than 6 beers usually. So you could buy whiskey and.

Use over 2 days.

BBS is operational through text and photos only. Quality is low. KTV mommies also doing this route higher quality.

But rates going at 4/10/15 and 5/15/20. For same quality double the price as before.

I can say alot of my friends and former KTV girls have left CP, they gave up on the 'next week we open' concept and.

Opened now and is more of a 'quiet' bar with bands, more western style in that they have cocktails and beer, you can buy.

By the bottle I believe as well. But for people who don't like the noise of the disco style it is an option. The interior.

Is very cool, would be a nice place as an alternative to bring friends to. I don't think you'll be able to hunt there as.

That prey prefers the noise of a disco. The interior is super cool and very modern feel. Very near Eurasia area. It is.

Near a new apt complex under construction and should become a good area for bars, restaurants, etc. It is at the end.

Of a strip of stores / restaurants.

Huizhou was our option for the trip, the KTV is normal though rates are the 5/15/20 as found with the call in rates in.

CP without the hassle or worry of the popo and normal lineups (5-6 at a time). Quality was good but no where near.

What Yihao or many CP places were before. There is skinny, tall, short, fat etc. Actually I found most girls on the non-skinny.

Side there, perhaps also it was because we were new and didn't get prime selection, the first visit we had a friend prechoose.

Her friends for us and were satisfied, but second shot we looked at lineup more and were less than impressed.

Foshan. I also tried Foshan and couldn't really gauge as we showed up there too late, factory manager was late and.

Screwed up the opportunity to check out (Sanshui). The mme indicated lineups of only 4 were being done.

For security. Also later heard Sanshui and also Shenzhen Baoan were under alert. Seems the pressure is still on.

Province wide.

Seems for now I'd recommend greener pastures, or at least going there with the mindset that it is different, and that the.

Old CP is retired for now. My guess is we would be looking at post CNY next year (when people need to find work) before.

CP could start anything up. There will be pop-ups here and there, but by then I don't know what will be left, the hotels.

Are so under capacity who knows if they will survive, and CP offers little in tourist value.

The only options seem to be Zhuhai, Huizhou, though I heard Tangxia and Longgang Shenzhen may have something.

Everything still is not normal and won't be soon. Sorry to say that.

• Are the 'mainstream' hotels also required to provide hard copies of foreigners' details to the local police (which is the bottom of the PSB pyramid?

• Does the automated PSB system also require the details of foreigners' partners?

• Is the automated PSB system centralised, or are there separate non-integrated systems in each province or administrative division?

• Is the automated PSB system information textual or image based (from a scan of the documents?

• Who provides the interface. The provider of the hotel front desk system or the GongAn?

From my personal observation, photocopies are always made of foreigners' documentation. Most times, the photocopiers are cheap standalone models that do not have the capability of connection to computer systems. And I have observed, in local police stations, the piles of photocopies of foreigners' hotel registrations.

I have also noticed that when I go to the police station for foreigner residence registration, if I show them my previous registration form, then the process is completed very quickly (in contrast to the otherwise interminable waits while they check everything (manually? This would seem to indicate that the PSB does not have this system fully computerised.

They do take photocopies of your documents but are supposed to upload the details to the entry exit system of the PSB. The same one the police is uploading your personal details to. They need to know on what date you entered the country. They already have you picture taken at airport on their system. Easy for them to recoup all information. Of course hotels don't have access to data, they have to input everything manually.

In a nutshell PSB knows who you are, where you were before, who you are staying with and when you leave the country.

In more remote places in the countryside you migt be able to get away with things that would not work otherwise.

Again as often in China the process is mostly formal. If you are two they will need two IDs not necessarily the real IDs. It happened to me once that the girl I was with have her mother I'd card for registration an no one said anything.

From memory, they stopped taking photos in 2011 (at Luohu, Huanggang and Futian Port entry points). And before they increased the fine from 50 rmb to some much higher variable figure, most foreign residents (including myself at times) did not bother with the resident registration process. Even today I know many guys who have never registered their current residence.

Hotels normally record the most recent date of entry in China (but not the previous country); this is often very frustrating for front office staff when passports are full of hundreds of China entry stamps.

Even long before the crackdown, hotels in China had 2 different licences. One allowed them to accept foreigners, the other did not allow it. It seemed to simply depend on whether or not the hotel had English-speaking employees or not. I have come across this many times over the last 6 years or so, so it's nothing new. However, there seems to be a huge risk now when you check into a hotel alone, because if you are caught in your room with a girl, quite simply you are in trouble. For many years I always made certain that HER number was in my phone and vice versa - (at least you could always try to say she was your fiance) - but since the crackdown it's not so easy. If you already have a 'friend' (from last time) that you can contact and get her to check-in with you, you will have less chance of being caught as right now there are so many stupid guys who don't read this forum and still check-in alone.

Right now CP is dead. And is likely to be for the foreseeable future. The few girls that ARE available are expensive (5/15/20) and are simply not worth it unless you have more money than sense. So what is the point for you to do all this just to check in a hotel if CP have no actions, why even take this chance, the central government are still offer reward to any one report any illegal actions, I said just stay the hell out of CP for now, there are still many actions in Shenzhen and Guangzhou and hotel there are much safer than in CP.

Thailand here I come!The investigation and charging of officials recently has simply been a consolidation of power by President Xi. He has no intention of eliminating corruption.

All of the "guilty" senior officials have been associated with competitors of Xi's power base or are viewed as a potential threat. The relationships of these officials has been openly reported in the media. And the emphasis on the corruption (as the reason for elimination of rivals) by the party is also an attempt to improve their image in the eyes of the downtrodden (as does attacking Japan and foreign firms, etc)!

Other places for fun will arise, but certainly not to the level of Dongguan as this openness was regarded as bad for China's image. This is no different to the demise of Zhu Hai and even Sha Tsui in the past. Only the scale differs.

So, let's get back to the business at hand and don't talk about politics and corruption, and lament the passing of the "good ol' days" (boring)! The glass is half full, guys!

Chang An used to be #2 after CP according to posts from 2-3 years ago. Now my company has opened an office there that I must start visiting.

Has ChangAn suffered the same degree of crackdown as CP? I can't imagine it's the new go to spot as it hasn't been mentioned here for a very long time.

Chang An used to be #2 after CP according to posts from 2-3 years ago. Now my company has opened an office there that I must start visiting.

Has ChangAn suffered the same degree of crackdown as CP? I can't imagine it's the new go to spot as it hasn't been mentioned here for a very long time.The whole of Dongguan city was specifically targeted in this crackdown. Yes, it has been reported that 70-80% of KTV's, footsies and bars etc have reopened after the operators signed quite far reaching undertakings that they will NOT allow vice etc to occur in their premises; and quite immediately these operators tried using loopholes etc to do business as before. And of course got promptly shut down again.

As an example, FuHao opened with their girls all dressed up as DJ's and / or assistant managers. And of course got shut down after not being able to explain how it is that their rooms need so many DJ's / assistant managers.

Worse, the girls are now realizing that the end of the road is nigh for Chang Ping and leaving for greener pastures in droves. Just too much hassles and danger for the crap living they're only able to eke out in Chang Ping, that it's just not worth it for them to stay.

Sad but there you have it. Paradise Lost. Truly lost.

Even long before the crackdown, hotels in China had 2 different licences. One allowed them to accept foreigners, the other did not allow it. It seemed to simply depend on whether or not the hotel had English-speaking employees or not. I have come across this many times over the last 6 years or so, so it's nothing new.
Strange, I never had a problem with a hotel that didn't accept me for more than 12 years and more. Majority of the time NO one spoke any English but it was not a problem checking in. I stayed at some small hotels and 5 star hotels with no issues in different cities ALL over Southern China.



Right now CP is dead. And is likely to be for the foreseeable future. The few girls that ARE available are expensive (5/15/20) and are simply not worth it unless you have more money than sense. I have said it before and I will say it again. Jump on a Chinese dating site and find yourself a few 'freebies' - at least until the heat dies off.This I agree with you. If CP or any place starts up again and the News Media broadcasts the information, the place is going get into trouble. Next year MIGHT get a little better. CP was just too big for its own good. Many might be unsure of current situation so I suggest the following before you plan your itinenary. If you do not intend to do anything in Changping then head direct to Danshui.

The way to play now in Changping is choose stocks via pics on that day and the stock will meet you in KTV. If you prefer to choose stocks in real person then consider the following nearby alternatives:

1) Desert Storm KTV (Flower Street) (4 Star). 50 min away from Changping. Stay hotel in Changping.

Note: Location is rural. Bumpy and dusty roads. Amenities only found in hotel. Although a good 4 Star Hotel but not recommended to stay here.

2) Danshui KTVs (4 Star). 90 min away from Changping. Stay hotel in Danshui.

Note: Location is developed. Many amenities around hotel. Recommended to stay here even for a few days.

Huizhou / Danshui is the best alternative to Changping so far.

Please manage your expectations because there is no perfect place like Changping.

Best time to go will be 6:30-7 pm when all 3 shifts are there. If you go 10-2 am most are already on the clock. The 新 丽 晶 大 酒 店 (New Regent Hotel) is also apparently quite a hot place in Danshui.

This area is just North of Dapeng Peninsula which is closest to Hong Kong across Mirs Bay and which is the favorite speedboat route for smugglers to Hong Kong. The huge trade in smuggled goods then progressed to include drugs and shipments to International destinations, especially Europe.

Natives of Huizhou even nowadays are major drug figures in Europe especially in the Netherlands which is a very significant distribution center for the rest of the Continent.

These are the kind of people that are native to Huizhou / Danshui / Dapeng / Aotou / Dayawan etc and are NOT the kind of people you can afford to tangle with. So yeah, do keep a low profile, keep your wits at all time and do avoid any confrontations.

And yeah, especially for you all who likes to act up / be BSD's, they ain't going to stand for any nonsense there. The mongering customer is King in CP as sex IS (or was) the main industry there, whilst the Danshui / Huizhou KTV's etc. , are merely needed facilities for the day-to-day lives of the locals. About 10 years ago I worked and lived a few years in Danshui. The raids described by him also already took place in those days. When I was there I befriended some locals,; really nice guys. But certainly not to be messed with.

Now and then I was invited to some of their birthday parties. I always accepted their invitation with the remark that I would drop in for short time as I had some other (business) function to attend to as well. These parties were always very private parties in one of the Danshui KTV's. Naked dancers, mostly stunners, doing "some acts". What worried me most however was that the ashtrays on the tables were not there for the purpose of collecting ash but only for the distribution of piles of white powder; to be used to the merry of all participants. When I noticed that at a party I always bid my farewell after a short time as in my position (a laowai working for a major international company) I could not take the risk to be the victim of an LE raid. It has happened that such a party was raided less than 30 minutes after my departure.

As Joe is saying: be careful in that area and keep your wits at all time.

And yes, I do know that there is a Malaysian agent who is doing quite a bit of KTV parties there past few weeks, but this guy is so blatant in his ads and Wechat posts that I'm very surprised that he hasn't gotten nabbed yet.

But I have not heard of any major Singaporean/Malaysian investments in Danshui/Huizhou Hotels/KTV etc

Yes, CP is really shot, the whole place is so empty and depressing and feels quite unsafe as I know that there are many desperate people running around here. And going into buildings like Lian Pang, Manhattan apartments, Rainbow etc. , so eerie as these building are probably only a third filled and there's the feeling that there is going to be some robber lurking around in every corner! So even following a girl back to her place does also have its own risks!

On the other hand, for those with regulars, good times are actually to be had in CP right now. Maximum GFE and they all seem so eager to please. Heck I even called over a girl who in the past had not been too errrr, warm, but who is absolutely gorgeous; perfect face, body, skin, hair, everything! I'm a sucker for a pretty face and to my joy this time, she was an absolute delight! Even bathed and toweled me down before doing just about everything and can you believe it, seeming to actually enjoy it all! Nice!

And taxis? Dime a dozen and most will go anywhere in CP for RMB 10. Nice!

And another random thing I notice, the absence of Xiao Long Gao's! No girls, no XLG's! LOL.

Not sure about hotel rates around ZhongYuan Street as they all seem to still insist on charging quite high, even though I would estimate a maximum 15% occupancy. This is especially so when compared to what's available on Swan Lake Road. (Cheap! Starting at RMB 128 at SWL hotel with the rest of the street adopting similar pricing).

And BTW, the girls all seem to now know that they must register at the front desk before going up and will automatically swap personal information with you as soon as they walk in the door; this is to establish that you and she are lovers (only immorally enjoying adultery which is not a crime) and not a WG with her john, which is of course a crime.

So, treasures are to be found if one is adventurous and careful in CP. Just IMHO of course.

It's been a while since I posted a report as CP is quite dead of action since the crackdown back in February. I have told my regular customers to stay away and have suggested them to go to Foshan, Zhongshan, Shenzhen, or Huizhou. I have stayed away as I am not familiar and have no hook ups in these places but most importantly does not know whether it is safe enough for my customers to party at these places; however, through my past CP contacts, I have recently ventured to Danshui (DS), Huizhou for a four days visit.

Firstly, some logistic information for everyone. DS is east of CP (70 minutes away) and north of Luohu, Shenzhen (60 minutes) and has been voted the 5th most beautiful city in China. Huizhou is quite big as is Dongguan. CP is a town within Dongguan and DS is a town within Huizhou. DS to my amazement is an older developed town that historically been around for adult entertainment but not as easy to get to as CP thus CP became a more popular destination for foreigners as HK airport is within 3 hours away, SZ airport is one hour away, there is a direct train from HK, and only 30 minutes and 2 train stops from Luohu, SZ and 40 minutes and 2 train stops from Guangzhou East station. DS however is not easy to get to as you have to tack on an additional hour for each airport, there is a High-speed (Huizhou South Station) train that goes near DS (15 minutes from city center) but the train tickets are quite difficult to purchase as it is a station on a very popular line that goes eastward toward Xiamen. It is only 25 minutes and 17 RMB train ride from Shenzhen North Station (about 45 minutes from Luhou train station via subway). The town has three large shopping malls with movie theaters, restaurants, and shopping. Hotels are spread out around town and the best way to get around is on motor-bikes (5-8 RMB each way).

Two (both of my customers are from the US, one an African-American and the other Chinese-American with limited Putonghua skills) of my customers came up from Hong Kong through the Luohu border and I arranged a private car to pick them up at the Shangri-La Hotel (280 RMB one way). They stayed at the newly renovated Jin Ding Hotel 金40718;37202;24215; for 218 RMB per night. The original plan was to go to all four of the biggest Hotel / KTVs in town (the other three being: Li Jing Hotel 丽26223;37202;24215;, Shiji Hua Yuan Hotel世32426;21326;22253;22823;39277;24215;, and Jialu Int'l Hotel 家36335;22269;38469;37202;24215 but things didn't happen (see further for reason why) as planned. They arrived around 4 pm, after a short rest, we ventured out for a bite to eat at the nearby mall which was about a 10 minutes walk from the hotel. We arrived at the Hao Yi Duo 好23452;22810; mall where there are a few restaurants on the third and fourth floor. We settled on getting some Pizza and Pasta with the total bill for three of us at 96 RMB (about 15 USD).

The Jin Ding International Club is right across the parking lot from the hotel. The building is a converted sports facility with 60 plus rooms of various sizes (cheapest minimum room is 680 RMB) with a separate building of luxurious party rooms for bigger parties. We reserved a 780 RMB minimum room that has one DJ (300 RMB minimum tip) and one Service Boy (100 minimum tip). My customers decided to purchase the buy two get one free package of Chivas which included 12 bottles of mixers (coke, soda water, tonic water, green tea, chrysanthemum tea, etc.). Working girls (WG) line up started at 7:30 pm (a bit later than the usual CP flower street time) which is nice as there is no rush getting to the KTV early for best selection. Girls were brought in 5 to 10 at a time and probably because it was a Saturday night (the busiest party night of the week), we saw no more than 100 girls; however, it was more than enough as we were able to choose 5 girls easily as the talent was quite good. The WGs were split into two categories (4/10/15 and 5/15/20). Other than not having a flower street and having less number of girls, the partying was actually just the same as CP. The attitude of the girls were much better than CP once was as most of these girls (before CP was basically shutdown) entertains local Chinese where the men only sits them and rarely takes them out but they work later and drinks much more than the foreign customers do. None of the girls asked to leave early and party with us all the way til we end the party which was amazingly close to 1 am when we asked for the bill. Both of my customers took one of their WG out and paid the other three for their sitting fees. The next day report on the two girls that were taken out was good, no hurry service, one left after short time with the other leaving the next morning.

Daytime in DS is very much like it was in CP which translates to not much to do. We had dim sum in the hotel restaurant then went out to Starbucks at the Aeon shopping center (27704;26106;24191;22330 on motorbikes. Then we went to a local salon for a facial and hair wash and because the guys had a long flight and a bit jet-lagged, they went back to the hotel for a quick nap. We went to a Hong Kong style Chinese Café for dinner and then proceeded to the Dynasty Club at the LiJng Hotel. Lijing Hotel is a four star hotel with very nice accommodations. The Deécor is very similar to CP Yihao hotel. The KTV is in a separate building and we reserved a medium size room with a 1,180 RMB minimum which requires one DJ and one Service Boy. WGs here are in three categories: 3/8/12,4/10/15, and 5/15/20. Most likely because it was a Sunday, there were an abundance of girls to choose from. With one night experience under their belt, my two customers took their time selecting their companions for the evening. The whole process must of taken over an hour and we may have looked at over 200 girls. The girls here are a bit more prettier and I saw some familiar faces as half of the girls there came from Yihao, Eurasia, and Mayflower. The line-up of girls seems to get prettier and prettier but because my customers have already selected two girls each, they decided not to get more and stopped the viewing. Once we started playing, we notice that the girls here behave very much like the girls that were in CP. One girl within half an hour told my customer that her period came and wants to leave, I spoke to her and told her to stay a bit longer but my customer was nice just gave her the sitting fee and she left. Another one after a couple hours of partying pretended that she was drunk and slept on the couch for the next two hours while we were partying; however, the remaining two was good and party with us til the end of the evening. At one point of the evening, the manager came into the room and said that they heard that there may be potential room inspections that evening and said that it was not advisable for the girls to stay overnight at the hotels. My customers still decided to take their girls out for short time, one of the two girls either really like my customer or was scared to go to his hotel and asked him to go to her apartment instead. This normally is not an advisable thing to do but because we know where she works and her mommy and the KTV manager vouched that it would be safe, my customer decided to go to her place instead and it turned out to be a fantastic experience for him. It was possible that she was very comfortable in her own environment but he told me that she did not let him sleep very much all night, while my other customer's girl was a bit nervous and her service was a bit rush and left as soon as they finished.

Since Monday and Tuesday are not typically busy days, I decided to leave it unplanned to make sure that the guys wanted to continue to party in the evening before making any plans at any of the other two KTVs. Instead of staying in town, the guys decided to go to the beach which is about 20-25 minutes from the hotel. I called one of the mommy that I know and she came along as a guide and brought couple of her girls with us and one of my customer brought his day one girl with him as well. She told him that none of her customers had ever taken her out during the day before and she was very happy that he did that and because the mommy and this girl was from Jing Ding, they decided to party there again in the evening. The beach amazingly was very clean and because it is Monday and a bit cool, there were hardly anyone there. There were numerous boats available for hire. For 7 people and approximately one hour, the boats can take you out for a brief tour of three islands nearby for 150 RMB. There are also horses (30 RMB) and dune buggies (50 RMB) available for a 15 minutes ride. I can imagine that it would be very busy here at the beach during the summer months so it was very enjoyable and relaxing and everyone really had a good time. It was getting into late afternoon and the mommy suggests that we go to a nearby farm for dinner. The farm was actually very close to the hotel (about 11 minutes away, we timed it on the way back after dinner). It was great having dinner at the farm as everything we ate was fresh. The ladies went into the fields and handpicked vegetables. The fish and chicken were farm raised. We had a delectable meal and were ready for night 3. Again, we booked a 780 RMB room but tonight the line-ups were fantastic. Perhaps it was because it is Monday night but we saw a lot of girls that we did not see on Saturday night. One of my customer sat his girl that he brought to the beach / farm during the day and said that he was sticking to his lone girl but a smoking hot chick came in and he could not resist sitting her especially with the urging of me and my other customer. His first chick got a bit jealous but that made it more of an exciting evening as the second girl was quite friendly to everyone in the room. My other customer pick two new girls for the evening and again the evening turned out to be super fun. The hot super fun chick was disappointed that no one took her out that evening but my customer asked her to join us the next evening and she gladly said ok. The repeat girl gave a super GFE to my customer and he was glad that he did not take the super fun girl and saved her for the last night and my other customer again had wonderful service from his chick and kept her overnight.

When I arrived at the hotel the next morning, both of my customers were in the room and seem to be a little upset. It turned out that one of my customer's GF have been looking for him and by ignoring her has now caused a big potential problem back home. His GF asked him to buy her something in HK but because the next day they have to leave for HKIA from DS direct, they will not have enough time to transit through HK, so I suggest that he go to HK today and deal with the shopping so that he don't have to do it the next day carrying his luggage around and can leave for HKIA from DS direct. He took my advice so we had to change our plans. Since there is an airport shuttle (only 4 a day) for 220 RMB per person from the Lijing hotel and we were going to party there again in the evening, I suggested that we move to stay there for one night (438 RMB per room per night). So, after lunch, we packed up and went to check in at the Lijing. At the front counter, you can purchase the airport shuttle tickets. I had the concierge arrange a car to take my customer to Luohu so he can take the subway to wherever he had to go and buy whatever he had to buy and hopefully be back in time for girl picking and for those of you that have been to CP before, picking girls is always the most important task for the day. LOL. While my customer went to shopping, my other customer and I decided to go get a foot massage at the hotel. We had a couple very fun girls and a very relaxing time. Time flies when you are having fun and soon it was dinner time. We decided to have a simple meal and then back at the Dynasty club for the last party of the trip. The super fun girl was right on time and met us at the room. The room we had this evening was perfect as all it has was one large table and plenty of room for dancing and fun. My customer also made it back just in time for line-up and again we were not disappointed as it seems that there were so many girls we had to tell them to stop at one point. In addition to super fun girl from JingDing, we selected 3 more girls and there were a super cute newbie DJ that they ask if she can learn in our room, we took her as well so there were a total of 6 girls (2 DJs, 4 WGs) for the three of us so we thought. Once the WG pickings were done, my customer that went to HK for shopping decided to go to his room to take a quick shower so the poor two of us had to deal with the 6 girls by ourselves. LOL. As most of you know, even though you tell them to stop bringing girls into the room, the mommies will still bring girls in and as it often happens, the hottest girl usually shows up after you have finished picking girls and it happened to us. The customer that stayed in the room said he did not want to pick another one since he already had two (one too many as he is sitting the super fun chick) and suggest I ask my other customer that is taking a shower so I sent him a message and told him what happened and he immediately said that since it was their last night in DS and told me to go ahead and take her as well and good thing he did as it ended up that this was the girl that he took out at the end of the evening. When he came back from taking a shower, he was fully occupied with three chicks and we decided to play the open party game where all the girls were opened to everyone in the room. For those of you that played this game with me in the past know exactly how much fun it actually is. Needless to say, it ended up to be the most fun we had the four days we were in DS. We had so much fun that everyone did not want to leave but of course, we actually ended up leaving close to 2 am in the morning. Both the super fun and super hot chicks were taken out for overnight. All the other girls were paid and a couple genuinely looked sad that they were not taken out. It was quite a memorable evening.

The next morning after breakfast, my customers checked out and boarded the airport shuttle promising to come back again soon. Of course coming from the US, soon most likely mean at the earliest next year and who knows CP may be back up and running again by that time but if not DS does serve as a good alternative for the time being. DS is definitely not CP and as a matter of fact it sort of remind me of what CP was like 6 years ago when I first came to China. The girls were fun, not as spoiled as the CP girls. The town is definitely not as tailored to foreigners as CP but is adequate. For the old timers, there will always be a comparison to CP but for the newbies, it will be more fun and enjoyable experience for you as we old-timers like to reminisce the good old times during the hay-days of wild wild CP.

Just to help out people that are looking for these places, I searched for them online and I believe the below are the right names.

Hotel: 金 鼎 大 酒 店 (Jin Ding the Jiu Dian). ("the" should be DDAA but for some reason, it keeps getting auto-corrected only 1 letter each ofcourse).

KTV: 金 鼎 国 际 聚 乐 部 (Jin Ding Guo Ji Ju LE Bu).

Hotel: 丽 景 花 园 酒 店 （Li Jing Hua Yuan Jiu Dian).

If you do a search for Jin Ding International Club on google, it does take you to an actual hotel but I don't think that is the right place, not 100% sure there.

I would only like to add another easy way to reach Danshui by intercity coach. There is a regular bus service from the Luohu bus terminal to the Danshui Bus Terminal. When coming from HK thru the Luohu border crossing then you walk outside the immigration building turn right into the Bus Terminal (take the nearest entrance). The coach bays for Huizhou, Danshui and Daya Bay are right at the entrance (sorry I forgot the bay numbers, but the destinations are clearly marked on the pillars). Fare is about 50 RMB and departure to Danshui approximately every 20 minutes. Duration about 45 minutes. Only Friday afternoon one sometimes experiences passenger queue for the Danshui buses, allow for max 30 minutes extra waiting.

1) Danshui is a city in the Huiyang district of Huizhou.

1). The buses from Louhu to Danshui are bright green color; can't miss it but I suggest you always check the destination with the bus attendant.

2). Upon arriving at the Danshui Bus terminal: metered and non-metered taxis readily available. Or take a motorcycle taxi for the brave-hearted.

3) taxi fare from DBT to most city centre locations approximately 30 RMB. For JiaLu hotel about 45 RMB.

4. Recommended 5* hotels:

- Legend Hotel http://www.legend-hotel-huizhou.008h.com/index-en.html. Only a few minutes walk from the city center.

- Century Palace Hotel. About 15 minutes from the city center. Big KTV.

- JiaLu. Western name "Homeland International Hotel". http://www.homelandhotel-hz.com/en/about.html.

I Always stay in the Homeland (JiaLu) when I am in Danshui. Good service, good (western) breakfast. I never had any problems bringing in a girl. But as Always: YMMV.

From the Homeland to the city center is about 20 minutes walk but plenty of (il) legal taxis outside the hotel.

Next to the Homeland is a big and rather popular KTV. I have never been inside so I can not tell you any specifics.

Cheaper hotel option is the New Regent in the city centre: New Regent Hotel. A bit older and rather dirty rooms. Windows on higher floors can not open.

Use Google for additional available hotels in Danshui. But be aware there is also a Danshui on Taiwan!

Dongguan crackdown will approach its first year anniversary in Feb 2015. Personally I believe it may take many years for Changping to recover but certainly not to former glory. For those of you that lives in CP or like transiting through there, there is some good news as the new Guangzhou East to Chao Xian Line just opened starting yesterday, February 1st. So traveling from CP to Huizhou South station will cost only 35.50 one way and takes about an hour; however, as of right now, there are only 3 trains going from CP to HZ and 2 trains coming back. It's been a while since I posted a report as CP is quite dead of action since the crackdown back in February. I have told my regular customers to stay away and have suggested them to go to Foshan, Zhongshan, Shenzhen, or Huizhou. I have stayed away as I am not familiar and have no hook ups in these places but most importantly does not know whether it is safe enough for my customers to party at these places; however, through my past CP contacts, I have recently ventured to Danshui (DS), Huizhou for a four days visit.

Firstly, some logistic information for everyone. DS is east of CP (70 minutes away) and north of Luohu, Shenzhen (60 minutes) and has been voted the 5th most beautiful city in China. Huizhou is quite big as is Dongguan. CP is a town within Dongguan and DS is a town within Huizhou. DS to my amazement is an older developed town that historically been around for adult entertainment but not as easy to get to as CP thus CP became a more popular destination for foreigners as HK airport is within 3 hours away, SZ airport is one hour away, there is a direct train from HK, and only 30 minutes and 2 train stops from Luohu, SZ and 40 minutes and 2 train stops from Guangzhou East station. DS however is not easy to get to as you have to tack on an additional hour for each airport, there is a High-speed (Huizhou South Station) train that goes near DS (15 minutes from city center) but the train tickets are quite difficult to purchase as it is a station on a very popular line that goes eastward toward Xiamen. It is only 25 minutes and 17 RMB train ride from Shenzhen North Station (about 45 minutes from Luhou train station via subway). The town has three large shopping malls with movie theaters, restaurants, and shopping. Hotels are spread out around town and the best way to get around is on motor-bikes (5-8 RMB each way)..Hi BSD,

So how much should be the budget for a day? Include activity such as KTV, take out girl, sauna or massage during the day?

I had half and evening without much to do so I visited the old haunts in Tangxia; visited Golden Island, Golden Lake, Hui Wah Garden, Goodview, Xiu Jing, Sunny Business hotel (which is being ripped apart inside) Holiday. There are no saunas. Massage is so slow they may as well not be open. KTV is like a funeral parlour. Visits to hotel which used to cost 200 now costs 800-900. If this continues banks are going to be holding billions in bad loans.

One swallow doth not maketh Spring. But perhaps all is not lost!

Only the ninth day of the Chinese New Year and 5 "friends" are already back in Chang Ping / Huizhou and a few others chatting with me about doing so; even one who swore before leaving for CNY that she'll never return!

None of them seems to have any hard and fast plans but just thinks that since there is going to be so few competing girls coming back, that they'll have an easy time of it. Also, various Mommies / Managers are promising all sorts of higher rates / cut of the take. Not sure what this all means but IMHO, one of the reasons why girls used to come here is the large numbers of mongers who come, attracted by the lower general pricing and these Mommies promising Shenzhen / Shanghai rates could easily be the straw that actually breaks Dongguan's back.

Also turns out that the grass is not all that green elsewhere! The nascent "entertainment" scene closer to home / other areas has apparently also been cracked down upon and night work in many parts of China is not that easy to come about after all.

Got to hand it to our ever resourceful and never-say-die SYT's though, and as far as swallows are concerned, I'the be very happy even if just BBBJCIM!

I've already booked a business trip out to Shenzen / DG / HK / Macau for first week of April, and am concerned about the current sauna situation.

I've been to Crown prince / Eurasia / clipper in the previous years, which were awesome. Does Eurasia still those awesome have sauna's?

Also, still trying to find the best way to get from HK airport to DG directly.

I have been back to DG 3 times since the crackdown & haven't found a replacement for the Sauna experience of old. There is still plenty of action though if you know where to look. I will be back again in May & have been led to believe I will be able to get a pre crackdown Sauna deal, but I will reserve judgement until I see it.

A friend of a friend of mine got room raided at the Swan Lake hotel a few days ago.

This Hong Kong guy knew that he was already in serious trouble being caught with a girl in his room, but he never imagined just how serious! The LE searched everything and zeroed in on the girl's purse where they found drugs and right away accused them both for this, of course, since the guy could easier be squeezed and for more.

This guy called my friend who went up to bring money and they managed to settle the case for whatever the guy originally had with him, plus just another RMB 20,000, which my friend insisted to the LE was all that Customs would allow him to enter China with.

FYI, the guy got the girl from a disco, not sure which, but I'd suggest that you guys be more careful mongering in CP nowadays. As dangerous as work at CP is now, I'd suggest that it is probably only the most desperate who dares / have no choice but to risk. And druggies are usually quite desperate.

And of course not just to be careful for LE reasons, but for these desperadoes pulling off scams or robberies etc. For that matter, who knows if the girl was in cahoots with the LE or not; after all, the cops' takings must really be down the past year!

It's been a while since I posted a report as CP is quite dead of action since the crackdown back in February. I have told my regular customers to stay away and have suggested them to go to Foshan, Zhongshan, Shenzhen, or Huizhou. I have stayed away as I am not familiar and have no hook ups in these places but most importantly does not know whether it is safe enough for my customers to party at these places; however, through my past CP contacts, I have recently ventured to Danshui (DS), Huizhou for a four days visit.

Firstly, some logistic information for everyone. DS is east of CP (70 minutes away) and north of Luohu, Shenzhen (60 minutes) and has been voted the 5th most beautiful city in China. Huizhou is quite big as is Dongguan. CP is a town within Dongguan and DS is a town within Huizhou. DS to my amazement is an older developed town that historically been around for adult entertainment but not as easy to get to as CP thus CP became a more popular destination for foreigners as HK airport is within 3 hours away, SZ airport is one hour away, there is a direct train from HK, and only 30 minutes and 2 train stops from Luohu, SZ and 40 minutes and 2 train stops from Guangzhou East station. DS however is not easy to get to as you have to tack on an additional hour for each airport, there is a High-speed (Huizhou South Station) train that goes near DS (15 minutes from city center) but the train tickets are quite difficult to purchase as it is a station on a very popular line that goes eastward toward Xiamen. It is only 25 minutes and 17 RMB train ride from Shenzhen North Station (about 45 minutes from Luhou train station via subway). The town has three large shopping malls with movie theaters, restaurants, and shopping. Hotels are spread out around town and the best way to get around is on motor-bikes (5-8 RMB each way)...How do I get in touch with you for help as a guide. I am new to this forum. Thanks a ton!

Ahhhh, Chang Ping!

I guess it is still great for someone who've never been before, but for those of us who experienced its heydays. Sigh!!

Seems like the only action that's about the same as before is PZL. Prices still RMB 79/ HR, 69 second hour, the clay-pot rice still free and something to look forward to, the girls still all flirty and the mongers still being manipulated. Physically as well as mentally with sweet words; and of course mongers still being carrot headed by these skilled courtesans! Oh well, it's only money!

Mayflower was a disaster, like partying in an empty Fort Knox where they will NOT even allow you in unless the person you've made reservations with, comes out to the front and leads you in. This week I returned to ChangPing after a two year absence (just after the crackdown began).

I was surprised to see the ChangPing street mommies back in action. With the caveat that we're comparing apples to oranges (higher-end KTVs to less expensive BBSs), in my experience BBS girls are, in general, less polished, refined, etc than KTV girls all over China. This was as true in CP as elsewhere. I recall, in the middle of a shower with 2 girls from one of the BBSs on Swan Lake, both girls squating down to relieve themselves, one after the other. I thought of pointing out that there was a toilet just steps away from the shower, but decided to save my breath. In contrast, the KTV girls always used the toilet! LOL.

Of course, the are exceptions from both camps. I once met a nerdy, busty girl in a BBS in western Beijing who was a grad student at Beijing University.

Chinese companies in the PRD (Pearl River Delta) have failed to quickly react to, and upgrade and innovate to survive, the current economic situation and the crash in the demand for electronics components (particularly plastic precision parts). The many Taiwanese companies there are contracting or shifting operations to other countries.

Without the enormous economic growth of the past 15 years (OK, I admit most Dongguan toy factories closed in the wake of the GFC), the likes of Changping will never be seen in the PRD again, even if Xi totally relaxes his 3 vices campaign (prostitution, gambling and drugs).

The girl situation however, is accurately described. All the old providers are gone. If you have your personal resources, you can still find some action. A few KTVs are open but the amount of girls are very small (under 100) for viewing. The quality is nothing like before. The pricing for KTV girls average 1000 RMB for short time to 2000+ overnight.

Here's my two cents:

In a five star hotel you will almost never be bothered, extremely unlikely. But the police ask to check the hotel registers at the cheaper hotels all the time. If they see a single male is registered and suspect a girl is with you they may, if so inclined, check the room. And if they then think she is a working girl then the trouble could start.

As backwards as this sounds, the surefire way to avoid this is to make sure the girl registers for the room also. If they think she is your girlfriend you will NOT have a problem. The old rules about being married don't matter they won't care about that.

Make sure you know a few details like her name and home town so you can fake it. And don't speak Chinese to the police, ever.

My idea: Why don't we have our own private application / site to register all the WGs (just like ****** does)? At its peak each KTV is CP must have hundreds of girls. The key to support the industry is base number. It was the punting ground that everyone wants to be.

On the fourth anniversary of the Chang Ping crackdown I will take this opportunity to express my sadness for the end of one of the best mongering destinations I have had. I have some really fantastic memories of hobbying in CP.

However, there is another type of memorable session I have had in this town which was my most memorable non session ever. It was in the catacombs in 2010 in what was I am certain the last mongering encounter in that part of town. It was one extremely rainy night; I sauntered across there and looked for a provider, the place was desolate and was about to leave when I spied one solitary woman. Went up to her and agreed to a 20 minute session for if I recall correctly for 30 RMB. She led me to a 'hut', inside flooded with water about a foot high and totally dark. Went straight on to the bed with clothes and shoes. Got undressed but the girl pulled her dress up to her upper body. Try as I may I could not get hard and after 20 minutes could not penetrate. She ended the session, I got dressed and complained about non action in English which she obviously did not understand but was aware that it was a complaint. Whereupon she returned my money to me. I haven't been to a dongguan KTV in years but only hear it from the vine as well as accidently bumping into the mammasan (s). One KTV at the old cinese hotel has girls (hot) but the room prices are 1000+ and girls sitting fee are astronomical. 500/2000/3500. I think. Memory is a bit blurry since this was from two to three years ago.
