the finale is high skyline sauna. it is one of the best saunas i have ever been to. 3 storeys of luxury and sex! it is a little intimidating for non-asians such as me, especially when you speak no chinese, but i just went with the flow. firstly use the chinese address detailed in an earlier post. it is accross the road on an angle from the hotel. walk in and they will hand you a towel and locker key. walk down the stairs and the locker boys will help you undress and then walk naked into the basement shower, pool and spa area. here you can get the skin peel for 30rmb. this is not the place for the bashful and being the only europeon i think they have seen for a while i got plenty of stares. but hey it didn't bother me. once you have finished here you walk back through the lockers on the right and enter another room where the locker boys will help you into some pyjamas. u then move on to the 1st floor at this stage where you enter a large dim room containing the large reclining chairs and personal tv's. here you can get a proper massage (from the old ladys who not only you give a great remedial massage but also point to the "best girls"), also you can get a drink and overall chillout. i had a coke 20rmb and a back massage for 45 mins for 80rmb which was good value. my masseur also pointed out which were the good girls for sex. whilst you are in your chair, the sex girls will come over and say hello, (none have any english) and get you to go upstairs with them. they have a great range of at least 20 to 30 girls available at any time and they are all 7+. they offer 2 levels of service. straight sex for 399rmb and 499rmb which is the "snake kisses" which is described in earlier posts. this involves lots of rimming and even a vibrator up your arse if you like. to me the snake kisses is simply the best. make your choice of girl and then upstairs you go to your room where sex takes place. i had a great time here especially after my first visit where the girl went back down stairs and told all the girls about how big the girth of my dick is. i really filled her up if i do say so myself! i also spent time getting the girls off as well and fucking them long and slow which seems to be something they arent used to. anyway my reputation clearly went through the girls and i had a number of them wanting to take me upstairs on subsequent visits. i even had the room maid who was actually quite good looking ask me in broken english if i would show her my dick (which i did and the look on her face was priceless! ) as i went past her desk on the way down. overall i would suggest fuck everwhere else except alice bar and head to high skyline. it is exceptionally well run and won't disapoint. and don't forget your 40rmb discount coupon after your first visit.

got to the reference hotel, but diffuculty finding the sauna. post says "across the street at an angle", so with the hotel behind me first tried left, nothing in that block, so then tried right. sure at an angle to the right in a little from the street and down some stairs is a rather dingy sauna! the sauna cost something like 19 rmb, they said fs was 159 rmb. before they told me this i tried to indicate on paper i wanted the 399 deal. but i thought we agreed for 159. inside was pretty well a standard chinese sauna, not very spectacular. after bathing and going to the general massage area could see a pretty girl massaging the feet of a very fat guy in his underwear. the guys eventually bring one girl aged maybe about 20, said she would do fs. so off to a small dingy room on the same floor, reject two older women who ask to join as well, and have a hurried fs, no massage. pack up and leave, charged $399. on the way out could see some quite young (teenage) women playing poker while waiting for customers.

i think this was the wrong sauna, and i think i was overcharged deliberately. on the way out further down the street, maybe two blocks to the left when the hotel is behind you is a big establishment with neons and dazzling lights. that surely is the high sykyline sauna.

This sauna is located just south east of Wu Si Lu & Wan Sui Jie intersection:

- Walk south from this intersection, towards Gao Er Ji Lu (away from Zhong Shan Lu).

- its located on the corner of the first (or second?) street you come to on your left. Its a huge building pimped with neon...cant miss it.

- once you turn left, just go up the steps on your right hand side and in you go!

Can anyone confirm if this place is actually the Skyline? If its not, its another place worth checking out anyway ;)

Another bath house in Dalian that deserves a mention is located on Sheng Li Lu (Victory Rd), basically directly south of Olympic Sq. Just follow the road from Olympic Sq towards Gao Er Ji Lu, keep going straight up and once you come to Shengli Lu, the bath house should be facing you on the opposite side of the road.

Its nicely decorated on the outside with some strange stone work design, and the door is about 10 steps above street level. As you face it, to the right is a massage parlour (also about 10 steps above street level) and further right are 1 or 2 large hotels...all on the same block. Maybe someone who is more familiar with the area could give more accurate details on the location or even the name/address of this place.

Anyway, the attraction with this bath house is that the girls wear their own individual sexy outfits, such as nice little miniskirts/dresses/hot pants/shorts. They dont wear identical outfits as is the case with most bath houses Ive been to. Ive had FS twice in this place, both for around 180 RMB each time.

Both girls I tried were pretty sexy, around a 6 for body (as boobs were a bit small) and a 7 for face. 10 for the outfits though if that counts! The second girl had a sexy pout on her face, and i went down on her for some DATY to start with. Its obviously not very safe to do this with a WG, but this was my first time in ages for P4P, so I got a bit carried away. So did she...moaning more and more, working her pu$$y up and down in rhythm and asking me not to stop. I had to stop and get into her soon though....and when I did it was nice - but she did complain a bit, which happens sometimes with these bath house girls. The Korean bathhouse near Harbour square is closed/or under renovation so no need to complain about the description there, if you stay Shangri La just walk around and you can choose freely from whatever you like, prices are really reasonable and seem unchanged.

Was in a small MP near the Hotel, 88 RMB for the 90 minute massage plus 100 for the HJ, nice and slow, not BBS style rush.

Will keep the rest for the next days, this is a beautiful city in every viewpoint

No personal criticism intended at all!! Dalian is also changing quickly, they build like hell and many places do not exist anymore.

Street behind Shangri-La, most BBS and clubs were closed last 2 nights, behind 2 or 3 doors red lights, may be these hole in the walls described before, bars are still there and booming but few gals inside, and not so goodlooking (5s?). Only one MP that was legitimate.

Wander the small streets around the Hotel and you find many MPs, normal masssages are cheap, HJ 100 if offered, can be very nice at the right place (leave Shangri-la, cross road and take first small street on the left leading away from Hotel, take second left, very nice and clean MP with young, cute girls, alittle bit later a bit run down one but wonderful slow HJ). Take out is all possible but the prices asked are 600 for 1 pop, you can maybe get down to 400-500 but then you are at the telephone outcall level of the cards you get on the street. Tried that once very young (20) and beautiful girl and lousy service,wanted extra vor CBJ, taxi, rushed, moaned, no shower, and that is not valkue for 500.

So I was not so happy so far, but keep looking.

Hey FA,

Just a word of caution - Dalian has also been known to fleece customers if
you happen to walk into a seedy establishment without locals at your side.
I've had some bad experiences at KTVs around the Renmin Road (Shang-ri La
area) - our fault for having taxi drivers 'recommend' good places.

There are many Japanese bars in Dalian, e.g. along Changjiang Lu and close to Dawai (University of Foreign Languages). There is even a Japanese street located two streets behind the Senmao Building on Zhongshan Lu. I haven't been to these Japanese bars in Dalian before, so I have a few questions:

- Are they foreigner-friendly or Japanese only?

- In some of these bars, are the girls actually wearing the sexy outfits (e.g. schoolgirl, nurse, etc) as advertised in the Japanese magazines?

- Besides karaoke, are these girls up for extra services - and if so, at what price range?

Hey Daft,

Have been to about 3 Japanese Clubs in my short time here in Dalian - the
ones in Nikko, Grand Mercure and the Wanda Hotels. Have not seen any girls
in Schoolgirl / Nurse uniforms as seen on the Jap magz, altho I must admit
that they are quite sexily dressed anyways.

They are generally foreigner friendly only if u drink and pay up. Talking to
the mama-sans, they are particularly averse to the local Chinese customers
who are perceived as rude and loud to the Japanese clients. I've also heard
them complaining about foreigners who only drink one beer and refuse to
pay for the girl fee.
Note that it is the norm in Japanese Clubs of a 'cover-charge' of RMB 100
per person (customer) - so don't think u are fleeced when the bill comes.

As for services, their pricing is somewhat similar to the high-end KTVs i.e
RMB 200 to sit with u for a night and RMB 1,200 / 1,500 for ST / LT.

I also notice that the girls in the Japanese Clubs are somewhat more mature
(older) than their competition in the local KTVs. So, it's somewhat of a
different atmosphere and feel overall the way they pamper and service you.

As a side note, while in Dalian I have seen many cute young girls entering the Bao Yue hotel (beside Harbour Sq). I guess they work in the Japanese bar there. For anyone interested in these type of bars, that might be a place worth a visit too.

I'm agree that they are pretty friendly. No schoolgirl costumes but always well dressed. I have never been refused entry (I'm not Japansese) but it's less likely that they speak English than Japanese or Korean.

I'll be back in Dalian again next week - hopefully I can try a couple more and report back more accurately.

Just spent two boring hours at this previously 'full-service' bath-house.
To our dismay, the 'full-service' has been stopped since the Olympics and
according to the staffs there, will not be resumed any time soon.

Me too, I asked the bell boy, who said go 2 blocks and turn left. I must have only gone one block, and into an alley I went. On the left what looks like a hostess bar with pics of girls in the windows, and on the right of the alley was a sauna. Similar to previous post description. Something like $120 RMB for use of sauna. I asked for table shower and got one with milk ( I hope not the tainted kind!) and an abrasive. She didn't rub her body over mine or rim, which was dissapointing. My total bill was below 400RMB including drinks.

Later iIasked a taxi driver to take me to a massage place with special service ( I speak some basic mandarin). I lucked out. There were 4 girls working and I chose the only attractive one. She was 20 yo, and looked like a chinese audrey hepburn, so cute. There was no shower or massage, she cleaned my johnson up and gave an excellent BBBJ for about 5 minutes. Then put the hat on and proceeded to have fun in mish followed by finising in doggie. I took a little longer because of my earlier treat. She asked to lie together and hold each other for a while. Based upon my limited experience, there is a lot of value to be had in this city.

Recently in Dalian and found good massage place - happy ending but no FS unfortunately.

Directions:

Come out of ShangriLa and turn left, cross the street and keep walking in same direction alon Renmin Street;

walk as far as large roundabout (with ship in the middle)

Walk anticlockwise round, crossing WuWu Lu, Gangwang Jie and turn up ChangJiang Dong Lu

After 200 - 300 metres turn right onto Dajong Jie.

Massage place is on the right.

In bars around ShangriLa you get what you pay for! Wendy's at the bottom of Zhigong Jie is friendly with obliging girls, but no 10's!

For other older members, you can buy Cialis (UK) in a little shop at the end of TianJin Jie.

I was in Dalian about 10 days ago. After dinner and a few beers, I went to my hotel bar where they had happy hour. Because they had a wicked drink list, I decided to order a mixed drink, a long island, and I swear they must have put in at least 3 or 4 shots in each glass.

I started to get a buzz shortly after my second (free) drink. I was thinking of returning to my hotel room (to get control of myself) but I noticed that the bar was slowly filling up with hot skimmly dressed girls. Besides some knock-out Chinese babes, there were a few Russian, and Korean girls. I sat down with a Russian, probably the hottest girl there, and decided to have a drink with her. And silly me ordered a mixed drink again. The unfortunate thing is that when I have a glass infront of me, I just can't let it sit still. She started talking prices early, and said 2000 was cheap, so the end result was just a drink together.

Shortly after, another girl came up to me. This time a cute Korean girl who spoke fluent Mandarin. So here we go again, drink #4. 800 was doable, but after seeing all the fish in the water (20. 30 girls in the bar now) I wanted to try my luck with an even hotter girl. Right then my legs were getting wobbly, and then I walked into someone's drink. I remember returning to my room to change my clothes. But, unfortunately I was too wasted to go back.

I woke up horny and still pissed at about 4 a. M. Amazingly I went down stairs and there were a couple of massage girls still available. I got the service of one fairly good looking (but not as good as any of the bar girls). And then crap! My wallet with 2000+ RMB was missing. It must have been stolen sometime during my drunken state in the bar. Fortunately I keep my credit card and wallet separately, but I was unable to find an ATM that would accept it. So damn. The hand had to do that night.

I'll definitely be back to Dalian again. But I think I'll just stick to beer next time.

The only bar that has this availability of talent in Dalian is Alice Club/Bar and while some of the girls are hot, I wouldn't describe them as 'smoking babes'.

This bar was something that I stumbled upon by fluke. I know it wasn't Alice because I went there before and met a couple of philipino (rip-off) gals. It was in the bottom levels, maybe even in the basement of the hotel I was staying in, and it was better than Alice, but pricier. I believe it was the Shangri-la or the Kepinski. Besides drinking a lot, I've stayed in about 10 different hotels in the past month, so my memory is a little foggy. But check those two out, and you'll probably find it.

I was once taking a night train from Beijing to Shangyang a few years back, and in the same coach there were this woman speaking Korean to her young son. I first thought they were Korean, then she talked to the conductor of the train in perfect Chinese when he was checking ticket on all passengers. I was curious and asked her how she managed both languages so well. She told me that she grew up with both languages, but had never been to Korea.

Very likely this was F2, the bar in the ShangriLa Hotel. While there are some attractive ladies there, they tend to
a) be older. Not always but in general terms.
b) be more experienced but with more than a couple of years 'on the job' - if tight young p*ssy is your thing perhaps not the best deal. If experience is your thing, could be worth the price of admission.
c) charge a premium price ie. 5* hotel, 5* price - short time is likely to be a similar price to the Alice Club girls LT rates (and Alice's is only two minutes walk away)

Very possible also, that he girl was indeed from the Korean ethnic minority. This minority tends to be centred around Changchun in Jilin province, to the north of Liaoning. It is estimated there are more than 3 million ethnic Korean Chinese living in the three provinces of Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang in the northeast. Interestingly, only a few of the girls have that very typical Korean look with most looking Chinese with a slight Korean influence.

Absolutely not.

2000 was more than likely her opening gambit, prior to bargaining. From friends experience, and this was a year or so ago, ST can be negotiated to about 600 to 800 depending on your skills/Chinese, though most of the girls in ShangriLa will at least speak a little English (read enough).

As I said in the last post, this is the price for LT around the corner in Alice (800 LT) or the bars to the left of the ShangriLa ie. Guns & Roses, Maggie Bar etc. (600 LT)

I was not a frequenter of saunas during my time in Dalian - although they are in very plentiful supply. There are very very few BBS in Dalian, I only ever saw a couple in the several years I lived there. FernandoAlonso made a quick trip up north recently and appears to have found a variety of options on the sauna scene downtown. Perhaps he could provide a little more info on sauna pricing or you could PM prior to making a trip.

Absolutely not.

2000 was more than likely her opening gambit, prior to bargaining. From friends experience, and this was a year or so ago, ST can be negotiated to about 600 to 800 depending on your skills/Chinese, though most of the girls in ShangriLa will at least speak a little English (read enough).

As I said in the last post, this is the price for LT around the corner in Alice (800 LT) or the bars to the left of the ShangriLa ie. Guns & Roses, Maggie Bar etc. (600 LT)

I passed by a 'Massage shop' that offers call-outs on the road along the
road behind the Furama / Shangri-La (I think it's called the ChangJiang Lu).
Went in to enquire and the rates quoted were RMB 150 for ST (of which the
deed to be done at rooms behind the shop), and RMB 300 for Call out.
Overnight wud cost RMB 600/-.

I was with a coupla friends and it was not convenient for either, so wud put
this on my list of references for a cold windy Dalian night.

2nd time in this city....not really a safe city for mongering. All the little spas and the ones in Chinese hotels will try to rip you off. The final price will always be more than what they promise. Taxi drivers are not that reliable as well.

I found a decent driver who took me to lots of places to check them out. I speak some Mandarin and kept reminding him that I am not interested in places that will rip me off!

There's a KTV with Russians but both him and I were skeptical about the people who runs the joint. It's just off Zhonsan Lu after the Shangrila, across from a fairly new 'club/disco'.

When I entered the hotel (located on the same level as the lobby. Sorry, I forgot the name), I asked this young doorman about it. He was not too clear about what goes on by as we were walking towards the KTV, I specifically told him that I am really fearful of being rip off, etc. and gave him 10 RMB tip. He then admit that this place will definitely rip me off! So off I went the other direction.

Also found a sauna somewhere near Zhonsan Lu with another taxi driver. Chinese style 3 star hotel with Japanese advert for massage. Thought that might be OK.
Line up of girls were not great but one little spinner caught my eye.

She gave an OK CJB but knock-out body. Tiny frame with a cute little ass and good size bobbies.

After completion, went up to pay the bill. Was lead to a room and this guy started bringing out his calculator - F$%@!

I was was suppose to be 268 but now it's 999!

He read the list but who the F$%@ gives a hoot. Just want to get the hell out of there. I speak some Mandarin but I pretended that I can't. I showed him what I brought, which was 700 and he took 600.

The moral is that almost all of such places will rip you off!

There's a large sauna/massage in the basement. 2nd time there. I thought this place was legit as there are families, ladies around. My first time there,

Went there again last night and this new girl offered a HJ or Russian. I was surprised. No oral or FS allowed though.

Your hotel is on the road to Tiger Beach and is about a 15 minute taxi ride to downtown. There are few, if any, mongering locations nearby & very very little in the way of nightlife in the vicinity. While it is very likely that the hotel will have service in-house, I cannot vouch for quality or value for money - very likely to be overpriced and for you, with no Chinese, over-quoted.

Alice Club/Bar (owned by Alice) provides top class customer service, requires no Chinese, is very popular with the expat crowd. Can't go wrong there, though best to get there no later than 10pm to see best on offer. Last I heard, last year, LT was 800RMB for Chinese, though the Filipino girls may try to quote a couple of hundred more. Bar bills are more expensive here than other girlie bars (RMB35 a beer) but they are more reliable with not over-charging. Without doubt the easiest venue for you to go to - for someone in China for the first time it can be quite intimidating - Alice's is actually the opposite - you will find it welcoming.

A few minutes walk from Alice, on the other side of the Shangri-La Hotel is a row of bars including Faith Bar, Maggie Bar, Legends etc. These bars are much smaller than Alice and are designed to get the girls drinking with you for over-priced lady drinks followed by take-out.

I used to frequent Legends and know the boss, Leda, quite well. Buy a couple of lady drinks (usually about RMB40 each - but no need to go overboard, a polite but firm NO is all that is required), snuggle up to the girl you like, some touch-feely stuff is ok, to check out her eagerness/GFE potential. LT from all of these bars is a standard RMB600. Qaulity in these bars is very variable - don't be afraid to open the door, stick your head round & if you don't see anything you like, just close the door & move on.

Again no Chinese is required in these bars. The nearest landmark is the Shangri-La hotel & is probably the most famous hotel in town - pronounced phonetically as Shang - ge - ree - la - and that is all you need to say to a taxi driver. If in doubt, ask your concierge to talk to the driver. Then follow the directions I posted previously to the bars.

3) Take care walking the streets much in the same way as you would back home. I lived in Dalian for many years and never felt threatened however that feeling of security didn't mean I loosened up & walked down dark alleys.

4) Take the tips about Alice, Legends etc for what they are: The Beginning Mongers Guide to Easy Sex in Dalian ;-) If you are only in town for a couple of days, trust me, that is all you will need to leave with a smile on your face.

You couldn't pick a better month to visit Dalian - it will be very warm, beautiful weather & no humidity. A perfect time to see Dalian girls at their best - summer dresses, high heels & short-shorts!

Prices seem to inflate BUT economy is bad and with a little knowledge and Chinese you still get good prices here. For saunas other than described here you need definitely some Chinese. Cheapest one is for 200 RMB opposite the wonderful HJ place described below.

I have heard from reliable sources that Alice’s will be moving in the near future. June or July is the time frame I have heard. The new location is being prepared now, but I do not know where in Dalian it will be. I do not think this information is widely known at this time.

Alice Club is definitely moving, though timescale still not decided. She is refusing to move until she has a new site ready to move in & trade immediately. Given her guanxi, she can hold them off - she was screwing a couple of the now senior officials (esp. PSB) when she did her apprenticeship as a WG at the then Manila Bar (long gone) fifteen years ago. Shows what a good business mind some (ex)WG's really have.

The block on which Alice is situated, including the bars on ChangJiang Lu e.g. the Tin Whistle etc. is being demolished to make way for a hotel development. That is expected to happen in the next couple/few weeks.

The side street parallel to Alice Club (other side of Shangri La hotel) is unaffected by the move and will still be there. Legends Bar was always my favorite.

Note to Aisin Goro:
One or two of the girls at Legends used to do A. But the ones I was aware of have now moved on. If you are in the area, stop by Legends, speak to the Mamasan, Leda and asked her quietly on the side if any of the girls will perform the deed. There is nothing Leda has not seen or done in the years she has been working there, so need to be shy about it, just be discreet. Leda is the kind of mamasan that if you treat the girls well (as SEA Joe say, treat them as human beings) she will go that extra mile for you and there will never be any rip-offs on your bill. And trust me, I don't say that about too many mama's....

Price will likely be a standard 600 LT though the special request prior to take-out may elicit a request for a couple of hundred more. Establish a decent relationship with the girl, assuming she performs to your satisfaction, and it should become part of her regular routine on a 'normal' LT take out for 600.

I see that you keep this thread alive. I was surprised to see how little seems to be going on here compared to other areas. In mind mind "dongbei" is were WGs come from, so I'd expected much more action. Probably I'm just to used to southern China.

I saw those reports about the "sisters" at Legends, but discarded them for being old. On top of that, unfortunately, I'm basically around the Development Area, quite far from downtown Dalian. However, I'm thinking that my Japanese skills may be very helpful here, after some casual spying from the back seat of the car.

I'll report if I catch anything interesting.

Oh, I completely agree with you philosophy.

At the moment, Alice Club is still operating from the same site.

She has already organized a new location, on three floors, and much bigger than the current location. The site is next to Minzhu Guangchang (for the non-Chinese speakers, phonetically it is 'Meen Jew"). This is about a five minute walk west along ChangJiang Lu from the old location.

The new premises are currently under renovation and are expected to be ready in a few weeks. Will post more when opening date is confirmed - expect a big party!

Me and my local buddy drove by the Shagri-La hotel last night, following Cooler Wolf2's kind advice and found that Legends was, to my dismay, closed. A sign (that I interpreted as "For rent") hung on the door.

May try the Japanese magazine adds and websites, but the spirits are as low as the prospects after checking a few and confirming the excess of Japanese and Korean fashion magazine picture scans.

Disappointing Dalian.

I live in Dalian and it is nice. There is action simply everywhere but simply below the surface. A good reason to study Chinese indeed. 2 girls for 300 RMB at plenty of places. But, if you can't speak Chines you are kinda out of the loop.

Yes, Wafangdian is known as a location for mongering - it's had this reputation for more than 10 years. Also renowned as a cheap location.

Getting there will take approx 2 hours by bus (from memory but then it has been many years since I have been there, if more will not be by much). For those who want to be adventurous, I would strongly suggest going with a local friend or someone who knows the lay of the land.

Wafangdian is not nearly as developed as downtown Dalian - kinda like stepping back 10 to 15 years in time is how I would describe the difference. As such, foreigners there are a real rarity so be careful with how you present yourself & take care.

Buses to Wanfangdian leave Victory Square (Shengli Guangchang) every half hour or so during morning and afternoon - be careful to ask for express bus as some will go through various locations e.g. Pulandian first before arrival. If standing on Changjiang Lu, at train station exit and facing the square, bus location is on your right hand side (directly opposite Ramada Hotel on toher side of square) on small side street.

Sorry, can't help with details on mongering activities in Wafangdian as I no longer live in the area. Perhaps someone who makes the trip can report back.

Any Chinese city not overflown with foreigners is a budget mongers paradise and the girls are if treated right open and friendly and always worth a try. I found more diamonds than starfish in these places!!!

If you are in Peking it takes exactely one hour by car and you find similar, I bet ..

As FA says, Wafangdian is just a suburb (satellite town) which has largely remained untouched by foreign influence. It has been about 6 years since I was last there and it was certainly no CP then.

It simply has a reputation for cheap service. Without giving too much personal info away, my wife is from near that location and even she (who is rather innocent in these matters) admits that WFD is renowned for having the 'cheapest hookers in Dalian'.

Whether it is organised in the way CP is, is an open question. I doubt it and as I said if someone was to venture out a helping hand from a local would almost certainly be needed.

FYI, I lived in Dalian for several years and yes, the ladies there are tall, slim and really quite beautiful. I have since moved south.

In Thailand, I found that if you dress well, you are not accorded the disdain many Thais have of foreigners. Tanktops, shorts, dirty T-shirts, flipflops, even in the middle of Bangkok, only incur scorn there. The idea of "jai yen" (cold heart) which means always keeping your cool is highly valued there. I found that smiling at the Thai girls brought dividends.
I wonder if there are any other such qualities that Chinese, being Asians, might value so that I, and others, could use them to convince them that we are not a bunch of loutish slobs.
From reading the forums, I can't figure out what the Chinese girls might possibly fear from a laowai apart from their dread that laowais might have a large member, STDs, and boorish behaviour. Any information on how to give the girls a very good first impression, even if they are pros or semi-pros or freebies, would be most appreciated.
I have always tried to treat all the ladies with great respect wherever I have gone (Asia, DR, Haiti, etc.) , even if it is not always returned. It makes for good karma.

My first worry there would be to find a girl-friendly hotel (I suppose that most low-end hotels would be, though I would not like to go too low-ended). Then my plan of action would be to befriend a local guy (where I don't know, any suggestions?) who might steer me towards local action. In any case, my main focus will be to spend the time perfecting my Chinese, not mongering, but a nu pengyou or two would be great practice in more ways than one.

To give you the correct answer though, you need to understand some historical context of the reply.

Prior to China opening up, there was no question but that a foreigner can only stay at certain designated state guest houses and hotels. But even after 'opening up,' there was still a need to segregate Foreigners from the locals. This brought about the issue of the Foreign Exchange Currency (FEC) which the a foreigner is required to use to pay for anything and everything in China and which locals are generally NOT allowed to even possess. Yes, possess, as FEC were only acceptable in certain approved and acceptable "Foreign Grade" facilities and unless you are operator of such a facility, you are not allowed to have it. (exception is of course those with high connections, ranking and "outside" exposure etc). Approved facilites of course includes hotels which were segregated between those for foreigners (and locals who were allowed to possess FEC's) and those for locals.

Contact between foreigners and locals in those days were sparse and occasional - and governed by the State who would actually license such personae to ensure that they meet the grade - as far as representing China to a foreigner and to make sure that the 'party line' was firmly toed. Thus the reason for the segregation of hotel etc facilities.

But, as Fernando Alonso said, such segregation is hardly ever observed anymore - one because it just doesn't make sense to us Western minded foreigners (AND even for most of today's generation Chinese!) and I'd think, more likely because MOST Foreign visitors neither have the need or desire to want to stay at "Chinese facilities."

But I can assure you that for those who had tried to stay at some of these hotels meant for local Chinese, that there for sure had been times when they were not allowed to check in. And the reason for this is that the hotel management knows that their hotel cannot take in foreigners (unlikely as I'd think most of them would never even think about this, never mind know the law) OR, more likely, because they think that taking in foreigners is way too much trouble/not worth ed i.e. they'd actually need to report to the local Public Security Bureau that such and such foreigner is staying at their facility, They'd not have staff who could understand them, Foreigners wants "extras' that they just are not prepared to provide etc etc.

On the law in China - there are actually not that many laws that are actually gazetted and in force - China's laws is NOT common law, and thus each one has to actually be promulgated, discussed and passed. Not because of something that happened and needed to be argued/judged in court and made a precedence as in English Common law, but because there sits a council in Beijing who figures out there needs to be a law that they need to pass to cover something. And revisions of laws happens very rarely - and only when some controversies arise. The hotel law is one such law which has NOT been revised - albeit it's not really enforced properly or even thought of these days.

If you go to a place like mentioned you are the only foreigner, everyone will know what you are doing, so you better be careful. And even more a herd of us showing up there, drinking, partying and molesting every slutty dressed girl (exaggereation intended)?

You are asking for trouble. If you fly under the radar and know your way around in China on your own or with a friend try these places. Otherwise better stay away in your own interest.

Ah yes, this reminds me of when I visited Moscow during the height of the Cold War. I was a student and foreigners either stayed at an overpriced Intourist hotel or Sputnik (for student types). Soviets could not stay at Intourist or Sputnik hotels and we foreigners were restricted to them.
I still would like to try out Wafangdian but Fernando Alonso advises against it. Perhaps an intrepid old China hand could regale us with his forays into the unchartered territory of Wafangdian. I have been in small Chinese towns (even with populations of 300,000) and I stood out like a sore thumb as the locals were gawking at me (I was well-dressed, cool, calm, and collected , but very tall and very laowai-looking.) I did not dare look for any girls there.

(come to think of it, I ain't a lawyer either - so how dare I even wrote the last piece here!! Need to apologize to those who do know the law!!)

But I can assure you that you'd be more at home if you only spoke Mandarin/Putonghua versus the local dialect just about anywhere in Southern China as this is THE language that everybody uses in S. China as a common and unifying language. Fact is - I actually don't know where Mandarin is actually "native" at. Anybody who's a linguist here can tell us?

Lots of places in Guangzhou are packed with immigrant workers from elsewhere in China and to understand each other, they only speak in Putonghua, excepting of course when they are amongst people from their own province or area. You of course realize that even within one province, there are literally hundreds of totally different dialects being spoken don't you - and thus I would think that even in Dalian, they'd have their own Dalian dialect.

So perhaps you may want to reconsider your decision in regards Southern China - for indeed our "hobby" is so much cheaper and plentiful compared to a lot of places in the North (barring the occasional crack-downs of course.)

I was in Dalian this week for 4 days (was supposed to be 2 days but all flights cancelled due to heavy fog so ended up being 4 days).

The women in Dalian were the best looking women I have seen in China by far. I would love to go there in Summer when they are in their summer clothes. Loads of tall, fair skinned beauties.

All those bars close to Shangri La Hotel seem to be closed down including Legends. The best girl I had was from the in house service at my hotel. I stayed at Holiday Inn Express which was amazing value and perfect location right in the mdle of downtown.

Completely agreed that if you are in Dalian for a few days only then Alice Club is definitely the best bet. You cant go wrong and it is very user friendly. Mind you if you were Chinese then the options in Dalian would be amazing. There seem to be saunas and KTV's everywhere.

Really nice town and would love to go in Summer or better still with Chinese guys that could show me the KTV and local scene.Ah yes, the Dongbei woman, they are a special breed, tall, fair and always a bit distant, but why go to Dalian where most of the Service ladies are not from their, you find them in all popular places.

On KTVs there have been some reports advising caution, so you are right better take a local you can trust. Did you try the new Alice? Same as before?

Not all saunas here offer FS, but you can indeed find action at BBS prices but close to Sauna quality.

SEAJAmen brother, that is what I wanted to say, but was way too lazy and informed to give the full detailed picture!

You are not only a first class monger, lawyer but also a writer. If you go with a local by the way most of the issues described vanish. Just for the sake of discussion take e. G. A Chinese with a Canadian passport? Can he stay in a one star place? The passport copy goes to the PSB or at least is kept in the hotel for the stay. And on my first visit to China 15 years ago we only stayed at one star places, all pre/booked by the tour guide.

China can be so complicated but actually is so easy if you blend in a little and go with the flow.

Anybody who's a linguist here can tell us?No linguist, but as I am torturing myself learning it, it is in principal based on the Beijing dialect and if you leave out the "a" and "er" they always use here you are pretty close to Putonghua and of course the symbols (han ci) are pretty universal in the simplified version, that is why almost all Chinese movies have Chinese subtitles, so everyone can read if he does not understand the speaking (no they do not really care for deaf people here). Quite clever or not?

Fine weather, clean air, girls, girls, girls and if you know where to look good prices. When I was there I spoke hardly any Chinese and had no real clue about our hobby was there altogether less than a month and had 2 GFs and a lot of other fun starting at 100 for FS.

But I had also a regular that suddenly started quoting 1400 for LT, either she had a stupid rich guy spoiling her or it was just the Chinese way to say NO (which is strange as we had done it before, but I guess her auntie was afraid to loose her best workhorse so to say).

(come to think of it, I ain't a lawyer either - so how dare I even wrote the last piece here!! Need to apologize to those who do know the law!!)

But I can assure you that you'd be more at home if you only spoke Mandarin/Putonghua versus the local dialect just about anywhere in Southern China as this is THE language that everybody uses in S. China as a common and unifying language. Fact is - I actually don't know where Mandarin is actually "native" at. Anybody who's a linguist here can tell us?

Lots of places in Guangzhou are packed with immigrant workers from elsewhere in China and to understand each other, they only speak in Putonghua, excepting of course when they are amongst people from their own province or area. You of course realize that even within one province, there are literally hundreds of totally different dialects being spoken don't you - and thus I would think that even in Dalian, they'd have their own Dalian dialect.

So perhaps you may want to reconsider your decision in regards Southern China - for indeed our "hobby" is so much cheaper and plentiful compared to a lot of places in the North (barring the occasional crack-downs of course.)

You are not only a first class monger, lawyer but also a writer. If you go with a local by the way most of the issues described vanish. Just for the sake of discussion take e. G. A Chinese with a Canadian passport? Can he stay in a one star place? The passport copy goes to the PSB or at least is kept in the hotel for the stay. And on my first visit to China 15 years ago we only stayed at one star places, all pre/booked by the tour guide.

China can be so complicated but actually is so easy if you blend in a little and go with the flow.

Nonetheless, mucho gracias - and this is especially heartfelt on my part after the grilling I've had for quite a few days earlier this week/last week in the "southern" threads. But that's of course a totally different sorry story!!

On checking in with "locals" - many times I've done this and usually my buddy would just use his own ID card for both rooms, not necessitating me to do anything except pay for the room etc. Could this be what happened with you and your local guide? Possibly?

And you are SOOOO right about China being so complicated.... and yet so easy when you just go with the flow. A lot easier than at a lot of other places I'd even opine - just that you do have to go with the flow.

No linguist, but as I am torturing myself learning it, it is in principal based on the Beijing dialect and if you leave out the "a" and "er" they always use here you are pretty close to Putonghua and of course the symbols (han ci) are pretty universal in the simplified version, that is why almost all Chinese movies have Chinese subtitles, so everyone can read if he does not understand the speaking (no they do not really care for deaf people here). Quite clever or not?

I basically speak Cantonese and I do have my frustrations with Putonghua. My friends tell me that I actually speak Bai-Tonghua - which of course is BaiHua (Cantonese) and Putonghua and only I understand myself!! Oh well, just so long as I still can get away with it with 'em SYT's I ain't gonna complain!!

And I seem to understand Putonghua spoken by people from the South, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia etc as they speak it with not as heavy a "northern" accent - you know all that rolling of the tongue and errrs which make me always think they've got sxxt in their mouth when talking! Ooops.... now I'm gonna get slammed here too!!

But that brings the point out that even Putonghua is NOT spoken the same way - and it's really a matter of debate as to which is the 'true' mandarin/putonghua - with people always saying that the best and purest one is Beijing Mandarin (I don't agree as I don't understand them!!). Much like what is the true English - American (southern drawl, ghetto lingo, Valley gals etc) English (cockney, Scot, East end, West end, Posh, Sloaneys etc etc??), Singapore English? Indian English? Howzabout the "beautiful French accented" English that all the gals swoon about? Which one is English??!!

Anyway, what do I know??!!! Like I said I ain't no linguist and mangle all the languages I happen to use.

Its a polyglot world we live in!!

As far as knowledge is concerned - I would be the first one to tell you that I really know very little - I just fake it good by only writing about what I DO know. Welll.... most times anyhow!!

As far as the South is concerned, I of course favor places in Guangdong province for that is where I nowadays mostly monger at. Chang Ping in Dongguan is monger central and you can get gals from just about anywhere in China (and have your choice of subjects with whom you can practice your/learn putonghua). If you want places that are a bit more "civilized," then Guangzhou as it is a bigger city, and if you want the convenience of being able to pop over to Hong kong easily, then Shenzhen - which is one of the most "immigrant populated" metropolis in China (in the world?) that I know of.

If you want ease of getting around for a foreigner, then definitely Shanghai as English is spoken by so many people there. Quite a bit more expensive mind you - but lots of foreigners love this city for its cosmopolitan flair ..... and of course the flirty and very feminine gals!!

I went to the new Alice Bar. It is quite westernised there although a lot of younger cuter chinese girls seemed to be very standoffish...many more chinese in the club than foreigners and at the end of the day it is still very much a Chinese dominated place.

I hate the "non hooking hooker"... the girls that just seem to hang around and then look at you as though you have two heads when you approach them...well what do you expect if you are in a freelancer location looking like a freelancer...bit like the taxi divers that dont want to pick people up!! : )

Alice Bar is a tightly controlled market. No one really 'freelances' for long. Alice wants her girls to get the business. There are a handful of Russians and I've seen two or three Chinese that come in and work on weekends, but I'm sure they pay a bar fee and have cleared their activity with Alice and her husband.

You can tell the in-house working girls by their activity. They are ordered around by Alice and her assistant, they will approach any group of guys that come to the bar and, if not chosen, will head back to the 'holding area tables' until the next group arrives. The filipinos, of course, are all in-the-game. Unaccompanied young women at the bar who don't approach you and who pay for their own drinks, are looking to meet some local guys.

And yes, in general, Alice's girls are not the best looking in Dalian, but they are fun and reasonably priced (800 overnight in 2008) and well-managed.

When I was Dalian, I tried two girls from craigslist. I think the price asked by girls from craigslist is much higer than market price. In Dalian, normally the price will be lower than 1000RMB, like SPA or message place.

At last, I negotiate with a girl who is from ShenYang, the price is 600. Nice girl.

I just got back from High Skyline Sauna (Hai Yuan Tian) and this sauna is now a legit sauna. They remodeled the place for the last 2 months. It is really nice place, much nicer than Red Ruby Sauna. The entrance price is 39RMB. A foot massage is 49RMB and a 75 min massage is 179RMB. The 75min massage was done in a room upstairs. I thought that I would be offered a FS massage, but the massage girl mentioned that they stopped offering FS or any other services. There was a crackdown a few months ago where an undercover cop/investigator (not sure exactly who person is since my putonhua is so so). The foot massage and massage were very good. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a sauna place.

BUT if I read this correctly you paid between 1000 and 1200 for ST and that in Dalian. As I recall the F2 girls are over the top and if you do not want to freeze, just call any number of the touts namecards on the street and you can get what you had at much less than half what you paid anytime, day or night. Or you go out of the Hotel you stayed walk 100m on the right and get it for 200, or, or. Sigh, no wonder reasonable prices in Dalian are rather difficult to find.

Don't blame me for high prices at F2. It seems that it has been that way for a while. I went to F2 the night before and Julie wanted 1500. I finally settled on an ugly friend of hers sight unseen for 1000 for all night. I should have gone down the street but didn't have that info at the time.

Wow. Such sad news. It was "across from shangrila" near the new hole in the wall and bouron street. Was a japanese looking place/sauna. Always had a nice selection. My last time there. Brings a grin to me face. Got a twofer and they do the usual lickee-suckee foreplay bit. Then they take out the baby wipes and wipe down my feet. I just thought they were going to lick my toes. The Gloria Plaza hotel is fully GF, and in your budget. 10 minute walk to Alice (eastbound) and 10 minutes to Starbucks at Shengli (Victory) plaza (westbound) for daytime hunting.

Try the newly open Soho Bar, 3mins walk from Alice Club, lots of girls in there, Alice's good girls seem to be moving there too, be careful of the few bars that are still open around the Shangri La, they will try to get you to buy to many of the girls drinks and way over priced for take home (600 all night) but you can knock down the price to around 400 if you stick to your guns.

600 RMB LT overpriced, you are one lucky man. The touts in this area and telephone agencies used to ask 400-500 ST. The prices in the Alice and around the Shangri-La were I think around 800 with little leeway. You are a true heroe! Only the fuglies near the Intercontinental who were literally chasing you went for 300 LT but they were really a challenge lookwise.

Did you ge this price consistently? Seems I need to plan another trip up there.

In the time that I lived in Dalian, it was possible to negotiate down to 400 or 500 but that would usually depend on a number of factors i.e. time e.g. 2 or 3am, if you are known as a regular client or regular visitor, if you have already ponied up for a few lady drinks etc. Last time I visited Dalian, a few months back, it was the same situation.

Alice continues to be standard rate of 800RMB LT with, as you said, little leeway for negotiation.

Went to F2 in the Shangri La the weekend, expensive or what, drinks are silly prices start with, there are between 6 and 8 WG in there, all 7's to 9's but price they ask is 1500 but because they 'like you'they will drop to 1200, I passed on the offers.

Anyone know of any BBS here in Dalian, never been to 1 and would like ot try.

There were massage places (similar to BBS) behind the Shangri La but with the redevelopment of Changjiang Road these will have been demolished (they were scheduled for demolition last time I was there). Not sure if they have popped up elsewhere.

Otherwise, BBS are a bit of a rarity. Certainly BBS in their most common style.

I did notice one BBS next to the Sweetland Hotel a while back. The Sweetland is across from the stadium (which they are also demolishing/have demolished) at Olympic Square. If you were to walk out the driveway at the hotel front door and walk down the road, immediately on your right is a small side street. The BBS was immediately on the left a few meters in from the road you came down from the hotel (or in effect facing you as you came down the road from the hotel).

I did notice this on my way back to the hotel one night and ventured in for a look. Three girls, a couple of them cute but nothing particularly stunning. I do remember the girls being a little surprised seeing a laowai enter, but the welcome was still warm and friendly.

I only went in out of curiosity as I was absolutely hammered drunk after a night out with former work colleagues! Had a quick chat with the girls who quickly established FS was available on premises or at hotel. I may or may not have asked about prices but I honestly can't remember!

I would guess that a quick knee trembler in-house would likely be quoted at in the region of 200RMB.

Ok, so I've been here for a couple of months now, and I finally took home a girl from Alice Club.

I typically go out with friends or coworkers. This was the first opportunity I had where I was out by myself. As soon as I walked in and found a spot, the waiter asked me if I want a girl. I said sure and less than a minute later I was buying a lady drink.

The girl was cute. She wasn't fat, but she was pretty soft (probably never worked out in her life). Sorry, but I don't recall her name (I'm pretty bad with names). There is one guarantee though. For freebies, particularly younger Russians, Dave's Bar or Ma Ka Wei Jiu Ba near Zhongshan Square has always been the place of choice especially during the summer months. If you need directions, just drop me a PM.

JD's Bar near Olympic Square would have been a very good bet for Russian freebies also but it has been closed for a while now (good thing as it was getting helluva rough with too many fights).

Just one thing - be careful of the Russian guys. If 'your' girl is 'his' girl, and you make a play for her, he & his mates will waste no time letting you know about it (see helluva fights comment!).

When I was in Dalian recently, I checked this thread and found that Alice Club must be a good source of willing girls. There many Chinese batch clubs which offer discrete services. Only think is you need to find out. Golden bath house near xinghai square is one of them but make sure you go know some Chinese or go with Chinese friends. Also.

The best thing you could do is head down one evening around 10pm to Legends Bar on the bar street next (to the right of when facing) to the Shangri La Hotel. Located right opposite to the Somerset (inside an alley) , here it is, walked in and on basement 1. Thanks for the info here, it was spot on. Legends is a no nonsense straight to the point bar. Buy the mamasan and girl a drink or two (they drink tea) and you'll have friends for life or at least while you're in the bar. Not a large selection but enough variety to satisfy most tastes. For those who are mongering on a budget in Dalian, I know of two good options. The first option is Changchun Road (the part near Olympics Square). This has been mentioned on here before, but it's been several years since anyone has posted any new information on it. That mongering area is still alive and well, and the standard price for a woman is still 100 RMB for short-term. The women that only cost 100 RMB are the ones in their 30s and 40s, so please be aware of that. There are also some younger women around, but they usually charge somewhere around 150. 200 RMB for short-term. Usually you can start to see the women street-walking as soon as the sun goes down. If you go around 10 PM. Midnight, there will be plenty of women to choose from. I usually see around 25. 50 women when I go during peak hours at night. You will know they are "working girls" because they will almost always stare at you and / or say something to you if you pass by them. The women in this area range from pretty hot, to totally unfuckable. Just keep walking around if you don't see anything you like. You're bound to find at least one woman that fits you're standards. Just don't expect to see any 10s around here. Also, most of the women around this area tend to be pretty friendly and give pretty decent service. You will probably notice a few Chinese men mongering around this area as well. Be aware that it would be to your advantage if you can at least speak very simple Mandarin (numbers, etc.) , but I imagine you could probably get by without knowing any Mandarin as well (they can pretty much tell what you're wanting). You can also walk down a few of the side roads connected to Changchun Road, and there will almost always be a few more ladies to choose from.

Your second option for cheap mongering is the Xi'an Road and Wuyi Road intersection. Just near the intersection, you will see an area that is kinda underneath an overpass. It's a pretty busy area during the day. If you pay close attention, you will notice a lot of Chinese men that seem to be wandering around aimlessly. Well, they are actually mongering. That said, you can expect a lot of competition for the prettier girls. You can monger here at practically any time of the day, but there will be far more to choose from at night. The price in this location is the same as Changchun Road. 100 RMB for short term with a middle-aged women, and a little more for the younger women. The women here also range from very good-looking to awful. If you don't see something you like, just wait a while. The women will usually treat you well here too. The women at both here and Changchun Road are almost always fascinated with your foreign body (if you're white). On a side note, the working women at this location sometimes won't look at you if you're a foreigner, because this area is so busy, and they probably just assume you're an ordinary person. Don't be afraid, just approach them if you interested.

I also wanted to mention that you will more than likely be the only foreigner if you go to these locations, but don't let that scare you. I know it can be intimidating. I've been to both these places a few times, and I've never had any bad things to say. And make sure you stay firm with 100 RMB for short-term (with the middle-aged women) , because that seems to be the standard price. Most of them will flat out tell you that 100 RMB is the price for short-term (no haggling necessary). But if they don't, haggle with them. Another thing about these locations is that you can go to the women's apartment for no extra charge (which is usually a tiny apartment within walking distance) , but also you can usually take them back to your place if you really want. I recommend just going to their place to save the hassle. There will also be no washing up before or after sex with them. They usually just have wet wipes with them to clean your private parts, and they always have condoms ready. With all that said, good luck mongering!

This is a follow-up to my last report about cheap mongering in Dalian. I discovered that around the Xi'an Lu / Wuyi Lu area, you can get short-term for only 50 RMB. You can also have a threesome with 2 women for 100 RMB. The best place to find the women in that area (besides underneath the overpass) is on Yongping Street just off of Xi'an Lu. They will almost always be standing in front of the Zhichao Kindergarden (how appopriate). If you don't know where this is, just check it out on Google Maps. Remember, the women in this area are usually around their 40s, but you can usually spot one with a nice body if you stick around long enough. Their are plenty of uglies too, so just be patient. If you're not into "mature" women, there are also a few "hair salons" nearby with a good selection of younger ladies, but the price will certainly be higher than 50 RMB. Just look for the glowing pink light.

The women around the Yongping Street area aren't shy at all to approach you, but I almost always go with the women that wait for me to approach them. I always get the feeling that the women that walk up to me are hustlers, so I prefer to go for a woman that's a little more patient. Don't forget that you will more than likely be the only foreigner in this area, but that can work to your advantage. Also don't forget that these women will take you to their little apartments to take care of business, so you don't have to take them back to your hotel or anything. Their rooms are always free, so if you get with a woman that wants you to pay for the room, just refuse, and they will just forget about it (this happened to me once).

50 RMB is pretty hard to beat if you can find a decent-looking woman, so I will also post this report in the "Cheap Sex in China" thread.

To me, it is definitely a good deal. I live in Dalian, so I cannot spend as much money as someone in Dalian on vacation could. The price I have been paying has always been 50 RMB, but the women almost always quote me at a higher price when I first approach them (or they approach me). To me it's not worth the extra effort, because I think 50 RMB is already extremely low. All of the women I have gone with look like they are probably in their 30s. As I mentioned before, the quality of women you see out here totally varies, but you will almost never see any women above a 7 or an 8. On one of my recent visits, I went to one of the girls I previously had a threesome with. When I lived in Dalian, the SW area was, for a long time, the two or three streets behind Olympic Stadium. With that area now being redeveloped, looks like they have moved into a new neighborhood. Standard pricing at that time was 100RMB, though I long suspected that was including a laowai tax. Still for quick root. 50RMB or 100RMB, either does the job.

Everything else Captain mentions represented the situation there exactly as it was a few years back. Seems nothing has changed except no laowai tax now. LOL, is this the only city where the market has been evolving in favor of The foreigner?

Captain is right on the money when describing the ladies. Many of them are way past their sell-by-date. However, occasionally, if patient, you will come across on or two mid-30's who have retained some shape & are eminently fuckable. If you can identify one like this who provides good service (though still likely to be a 20 minute session) then no need to look elsewhere.

N. B. On the issue of session time: IMO. 20 minutes was standard if on their premises I. E. Apartments they keep nearby. Instead of 50RMB, you might want to consider offering 100RMB and taking them back to your place (make sure your valuables are locked up). Easy to get one hour or more of a session then. It's still worth a visit if you're mongering on a budget in Dalian. I also want to say thank you for your posts about that area from a few years back. Those posts inspired to me to monger in that area, and they also inspired me to search for a similar mongering area around Dalian. I found the Xi'an Lu mongering area on my own, and I felt it was my duty to let others on this thread know about it. I used to always pay 100 RMB around both of these two mongering areas. I noticed that the hookers would always immediately accept my offer of 100 RMB without making a counteroffer to me. That's usually a sign that you're paying too much. Prices vary wildly from place to place. If the women working Yongping and under the overpass aren't working for you and you can't get into Lin Lin I would suggest a place near the intersection of Ruyi and Yongping (walk up from Lin Lin Ballroom, turn left on Yongping and it's on the right, beside a possibly legit hair salon) and the price is 200-400 depending on the broad. But there are place all along Ruyi that you could get in and out of for around 250-400, easily, I think. The places around Yongping will be cheaper but it's worth venturing across Huanghe Lu to the little streets off Guangping Jie, among the big saunas and bath houses there are lots of barbershops and pink light massage places, too.

During the spring and summer there were countless cheap broads to choose from, and the colder the weather got, the less broads there were walking the streets. There are still some women in the area, but definitely significantly less than before. The best place to still find the broads during this time is in the apartment walkway between Yongping Jie and Minzheng Jie (you have to go there to know what I'm talking about). I am going to try to create a practical guide to cheap mongering in Dalian. Nothing over 200 RMB (about $30). What will not be included in this guide: girl bars, QQ girls, KTV girls, and on-call girls. The reason these will not be included is because they are generally not cheap (usually over 500 RMB). So anyways, let's get started with the first chapter of this cheapo mongering guide. Streetwalkers.

Summary: Streetwalkers in Dalian are not for beginners or the faint-of-heart. For starters, most of these women don't speak a lick of English other than the word "Hello." It would be next to impossible to negotiate with these women in English, and it would almost be a gurantee that they will quote you a higher price if you don't speak any Mandarin. And second. 95% of streetwalkers in Dalian are over the age of 35. If you aren't into middle-aged women, then it's probably best you don't waste your time. If you appreciate middle-aged women, then monger away. Younger women can be found, but they are few and far between, and they are also in huge demand, meaning they will be snatched up quick (demand far exceeds supply). Expect 80% of these streetwalking women to be in the 35-45 age range. 15% to be in 45+ age range, and 5% in the below 35 age range.

One of the upsides to the streetwalkers is that they have their own apartments for the action to take place. There is no need to pay extra to use their apartments, and if one of them says otherwise, she is certainly trying to play you for some extra cash. Expect their apartments to be tiny and dingy. These apartments are not at all attractive. You won't necessarily have cockroaches crawling up your legs, but you won't amazed by their decor either. Expect to be stared at by groups of mongering Chinese men if you go near Liberate Square, and you will also be the center of all their jokes (in Mandarin, of course). No one is going to do anything violent towards you, but you will definitely feel somewhat out of place, especially if you are new to China. This behavior generally doesn't happen around Olympic Square.

There are also some women in both areas that will decline to service foreigners, for whatever reason. I admit that this doesn't happen too often, but I would say it happens about 5-10% of the time. Bear in mind that I am speaking from the point-of-view of a white person, therefore I cannot comment about whether or not non-white foreigners will be serviced. Around Liberate Square, the target customers these streetwalkers are seeking are poor migrant workers from other parts of China, most certainly not foreigners. Most of these women are migrants themselves. I would say the target customers around Olympic Square are late night taxi drivers and lower-middle class men.

Service quality from street walkers is generally very low. On average, the service quality is usally around a 3 out of 10, so don't be expecting anything spectacular. The prices vary as do the looks of the girls. Beware of buying drinks. Do not keep a tab open. Most of the bars are pretty legit but you can never be too careful. They speak pretty good english at most of these joints.

If you go across the street of the main entrance and keep walking down Zhigong street turn right at the Olive Garden restaurant. Walk down about 60 yards and on your left side across from the somerset apartments is the shuifurong hot springs. This is a bath house with massages. Do the shower thing, get your robe on, then they take you to the massage chairs. They speak some english but not much. Say "massagee" and point upstairs to the guy that is showing you to the massage chair. They will bring in a lineup. Prices are about 350 for one girl and I think about 570 for two. I usually get a foot massage and a couple drinks so it is a little more but not much.

I know that there are more places around but I haven't done too much exploring. At night it is easy to see the pink lights and they almost always lead to the goods. Also Alice bar is near and there are tons of WG's there.

There are a couple massage parlors nearby but I do not live downtown so I haven't checked them out. If you come out of the Shangri la and head left on renmin Road, go down a block to dandong Road and make another left. There should be a massage place on your right hand side. I haven't checked it out, but 9 out of 10 massage places I have been to offer at least a HJ.

I saw a few posts on here where somebody was looking for a nice place to get a massage / handjob combo. Well there is a pretty decent massage place right where Wuyi Lu, Nansha Jie, and Xingchen Jie meet. The massage place is right next to the train tracks. On the outside of the building, it will say "Massage" and there will be some Japanese letters as well. The place is literally just on the opposite side of the street from the Nansha Jie police station. For those who are familiar with Dalian, this massage place is like a 5-10 minute walk from the huge "Xing Fu e Jia" apartment complexes. It is also only like a 5-minute taxi ride from Dalian Software Park. It is about a 15 to 20-minute taxi ride from downtown. The place is very clean and quiet, so the environment is very relaxing.

This place gives legit massages, which cost 100 RMB for two hours. Of course when you get to your massage room, after an hour or so of massaging, your masseuse will offer to give you a handjob, which means the massage will be finished right then and there if you oblige. So in other words, you can either get a massage for two hours for 100 RMB, or you can get a massage for one hour, and end with a handjob for 100 RMB. To be honest, the massage itself isn't that great, so you won't be missing out on much by cutting your massage short.

When I went to this place, my masseuse was a pretty cute girl from Xi'an. I am guessing she was around 30 or so, and she was pretty friendly to me. She always had a smile on her face. She was foreshadowing that she was going to possibly give me a handjob later on because she kept touching my dick whenever I was lying on my back. Whenever she did start giving me my handjob after the one-hour massage, I asked her if I could play with her breasts while she jacked me off. She agreed like it was no big deal at all. The whole time I was at this massage place, I think there was only one other customer.

If you want to get to this place, you can take bus 15 or 26 and get off at the "Nansha Jie" bus station. After getting off the bus, just walk over the train tracks to your right, and the place should be almost right in front of you. Another thing to note is that the entire time I was at this place, I was speaking Mandarin. I imagine things wouldn't go quite as smoothly if you only speak English. Don't let that intimidate you though, my Mandarin skills are quite basic.

I would imagine this place probably won't last too much longer, because it always looks pretty empty, so I would go there before it's too late! Worth a try at least once, especially for those living in Dalian.

I decided to follow Captain Strong's recommendation because it was exactly what I was looking for: a nice place where you had the chance to take shower before and after the massage and the massage could be decent.

The place looks nice indeed and clean. My masseuse was far from attractive but when I go for a massage I prefer skilled hands. The massage was ok nothing exceptional as you said but. When the magic question was made. She asked for an extra 100 for HJ. My mandarin is limited but I explained clearly that 2 hours of massage were 100 and that I thought the HJ would reduce it to 1 hour but no change in the price. She refused and so did I. So I told her that I wanted my second hour of massage. But I already knew this second hour was going to be a waste of time.

She didn't know what to do and she wanted to finish several times. You see the girl downstairs tells you its 100 two hours but no girl is excepting you to actually ask for a 2 hours massage so the quality of the last hour drops absolutely. Anyway I didn't want to pay the extra 100 because captain you had said you didn't.

I'm thinking of repeating but I wonder what will be the outcome this time. There were a few people when I went but still quite calm.

There is also another (more classy) one located right around the corner in front of the Amway (I think). If not Amway it is the sidestreet next to the cake shop. It's Mankind sauna. I saw 3 Chinese guys pull up in a car one night and get out of the car to go in. There happened to be a cop walking right down that street. Price offered was 269, but ended up being $355 which I guess they claim because I used the shower and got a 5 min head massage (I thought the guy was just offereing to get me a towel to dry off. Went to the Alice Bar tonight, based on advice here it almost seemed as though if I'd spent a fortnight in Dalian and not gone then I'd have missed out. 'Not my bag, baby', as Austin Powers would say. I got met at the door by a woman and asked 'for 1? ' to which I said yes, concerned she was going to lead me to a booth where I'd get hassled I took a place at the bar and got a beer to watch the show, a Phillipino mixed-sex band who were very good I'd have to say. Within a minute I was joined by a 'hostess' who was 28 and quite pretty but no pin-up. As I'm in my late 30s I'd still have been complemented for the attention if it wasn't so contrived. It was 35rmb for a Tsing Tao which I guess is horses for courses in a place like that. Esp as there was no entry fee. But of course I felt compelled to offer her a drink. She chose Baileys which was 40 rmb. Again quite steep for Dalian but not bad compared with the rip-off hostess prices I'd been warned about in here. Or even the hotel bar.

We had a nice-ish chat although she kept trying to get all cosy and I wasn't too interested. I must admit that generally I don't like places where women hang all over you with a clear financial incentive (otherwise I like them hanging over me!) so maybe Alice wasn't my place from the start.

Part of the reason I went was because I'm here on my own and was hoping to bump into other westerners for a beer and a chat. Maybe not the right place as you pay for company. There were other westerners there and I think a big group of Brits but prob not the sort I'd hang with.

Anyway our chat went on and I'd already decided after the first round of drinks I was going to 'do one'. I did get some helpful advice on places to shop this weekend for Christmas at least. When she finished her 2nd drink and asked for another (I'd noticed she was getting a token for each drink bought but she was honest and up-front about it, so no problem there) I said I was going to finish up and go. She then asked if she could come home to my hotel with me. I didn't know her exact role (if she was a hooker or just a friendly host) so asked if it was for money or 'because she wanted to'. She said 'both' though our conversation was so tense and disjointed it was a bit far fetched. Unless she just liked fair-haired westerners. How much?.1000 rmb!

For the record, I watched the bar staff like a hawk on the change and although they took a while to return, both round came back just fine and no-one else seemed to have a problem.

The entertainments after the band were good. Some dancing girls and a pair of Ukrainian borderline-gymnasts.

When I arrived I managed to pull a Chinese girl on my first night and had her back in my room and the next morning for gratis (bar the cost of a few beers). I also met a mamasan on the street outside my hotel, she offered me a girl for 1hr for 500 rmb which I haggled to 400 rmb without going through with it. Instead I took her offer of 1hr massage for 100 rmb which I haggled to naked with a happy ending. In the end that was changed (on my part) to 200 rmb inc a BJ which she did v. Well. Only 25yrs and quite pretty but her attitude was the draw, a real livewire. She was initially adamant it was only massage then went to HJ and then BJ.

After we chatted some more and she said I could get FS from her for 300 rmb (she had a great body) or 500 rmb from one of her girls (so back to old price) which were all 19-22yrs (one turned up to hand over money in my room and was fit and young. Was concerned I was being bounced into something but unfounded). But she offered 2 girls for 1hr for just 600 rmb! So for less than the Alice Bar hostest I could have her and 2 of her girls. The one I saw was certainly fit though don't know her English skills, if that matters to you.

So, whilst I may get pelters for an overall thumbs-down for Alice Bar, I would reccomend contacting her. I need to check the site rules on posting numbers but if it's OK then I'd add to the stream. Hope this helps anyone else out here.
