I was last here in March and went to the LA Café, which in my opinion was nothing exceptional, however two clowns on this forum claimed that I had overpaid at 1,500 Pesos (and was not some expert like them) who they “claimed” that they could find these local beauty queens and semi pro students for only 500 Pesos all night then after multiple sessions throughout the night and then another session in the morning toss them 500 Pesos as they kick them out in the morning (their words not mind). When challenged by these claims they then tried to backtrack and said that they could find “hotties” the LA Café but not every night.
JuniourUnless they claim they were quoted these prices, what is so hard to believe?
Does anyone know where in the PIs the next typhoon will hit, any story anyone can share? Besides spending our money on the good things, let's not forget many are really suffering from the last hit. Remember, no such thing as FEMA there, every man is for himself.

Hello to all,
I have a few quick questions I need answered in a hurry. I have RTFF many times. I am leaving on a business trip in a few days and we are flying into Clark Field. I will be traveling with my boss, his boss, and a few other people. I need a very good hotel. Price isn't a issue but location is. It needs to be close to Clark Field. We will be arriving around 2AM and I know they aren't going to be up to more then a 15 minute drive. It also HAS to be the best hotel. I make all of our reservations and they will kill me if I book them in a dump.
We will only be there for 30 hours and I am the only one in the group who will out mongering. I need advice for handling my very limited time there. I won't have time to go around and check places out. I have to hit the ground running. If anyone will be there around the 8th of December, I need a running partner. Drinks will be on me.
So I guess my second question is how would you spend 30 hours at Clark Field?

I will be in the RP in early 2005. I've got a dive trip to Thailand coming up at that time and will do a side trip to the RP. I'm just waiting on a couple newbie divers to decide when they can go ie: time off work.
I'll post when my dates firm up.
As a civilian, I can't return the "semper fi" in good consious, but I certainly appreciate the corps and all our services.
We ought to come up with the latin translation of "live to monger" to serve as our creedo.

Like you, I also enjoy reading some of Dragon Slayers posts, never has so much been written about so little. But I do feel a bit sorry for the guy especially when he posted that story about being drugged in that bar, now how sad is that, what does this really tell you about the man?
But for all those people out there who miss the man, I am sure Dragon Slayer will soon be around to take you under his wing and teach you all how to be a good monger like himself and his trusted lieutenant Mikster.

FD, Let me know as far in advance on when you are going to be there. I got a shitload of miles to use before next summer. I normally do the American Airlines - CathayPacifi all the way. Fly business class, very comfortable and almost rested up once I land back in the US.I am trying to get a couple of guys to go with me but they always drop out at the last minute. No need for more arguing, just answer the questions I ask you in the post. I have vacation in January and February, it wouldnt bother me a bit to go back to Angeles City and hook up with you, or anyone else for that matter. Then we can talk privately about this and get the other thing over with. Now, when will you be in Angeles City and where are you staying? Just tell me. Dont say anything else, just tell me. WE can verify each others airline tickets and room reservations. A third party can do the same. You've got a big mouth and I aim to shut it if you show up. We can take it to the Pm now.

Who has plans to be in Angeles City January 16 until ???? I am certainly planning on it and will most likey stay for at least 10 days depending on how fucked out I finally become. I am resting my liver so as to be able to drink like a sailor on port call after 6 months at sea. Is there anything better than having two cutie pies sucking your cock first thing in the morning when your so hungover you can hardly breathe? Always helps me out and is almost a cure for the hangover itself. Of course, a couple shots of rum will settle that if the sucking doesnt.
Sometimes I have the best mongering experiences when I am completely hungover. For some reason, I get so horny in that state that I can spooge several times even after banging and drinking all night. I dont understand it, but will instead just continue going with it. hahah

Anyone use the Swagman bus from the airport to Angeles? I checked the past posts on this foru and couldn't find any info on them.
My questions are:
1. Do you need a reservation to use this service?
2. Where in the airport do you board the Swagman bus?

JTSYou need take taxi from the airport to Swagman hotel Ermita. Depending on your negotiating skills it will cost you between 150 to 300peso (about 30 min. ride). From Swagman hotel bus goes every day at: 11.30AM, 3.30PM and 8.00PM. You don't need to do special reservation for bus. Cost used to be 350peso but with new toll fee could be 400peso one way.
I've always done it as Asman says, but they do have airport service. I just don't know how you hook up at the airport. Maybe with a reservation. Try their website.

Hi guys. Just got back from spending the week in monger paradise. I stayed at the Royal Amsterdam and will never stay anywhere else. Wow, what a great hotel. I stayed in the jacuzzi room for $55/night. This hotel puts all the others to shame. Mark the owner is a helluva guy too. Reliable internet in the room, good food downstairs and friendly staff make this the only place to stay in the middle of the action.
I went to several bars, of course. Currently, the nastiest girls are at Treasure Island across from Kokomos. They routinely take off their tops and flash pussies. There are some charmers there too. I was greatly disappointed at the quality upstairs at the Blue Nile executive club, only one or two real lookers there.
As usual, Dirty Duck was hopping, but Christine, my favorite 3 holer wasn't there.
I am going back in January and will hopefully get pics and more stories. I spent most of the time with my gf there, so not much outside action. Next time, I will have to forget to tell her I am coming. Monger on dudes!

I always used to take the Swagman bus to Angeles, but have recently switched to the Victory liner. The problem is that the swagman bus only leaves at a couple of set times each day, and they alway tend to leave early for some reason. With Victory, they have busses that leave every thirty minutes, so you can get their at any time. It is also much cheaper and the busses are of the same quality as Swagman, especially since Swagmans busses are now about 10 years old and even the TV's dont work (on Victory the TV's at least work, although they tend to have tagalog programming). Just ask any taxi driver to take you to the Victory bus station in Passay, they all know it.

Jr Suite in Jasmine wing at Orchid is US$45 a night. They will give a 10% discount if you stay 2 weeks and if you ask.

That said,
Clarkton is still an OK choice for 900 p. Hourly transportation to Fields is provided, but can be unreliable and a hassle. I keep a motorcycle in town so this is not a problem for me.
Swagman, as you know, is in a crappy location. Too far from the action, even with a bike. I hate crossing Macarthar Hwy.
IMHO, if you can afford it, Orchid is the best bet. BUT, I have not tried the newest hotels and remodels.

I still prefer it. Victory liner does have nearly constant cheap service north. But you'll be dropped in either downtown AC or in Dau (better choice for Fields Ave). Swagman will drop you anywhere. Plus, on your return trip to Manila, they'll pick you up anywhere. I like sitting in "the Ville" (Margarita Station) enjoying a final beer and sweet farewells until the "Fly the Bus" arrives. You can buy your ticket or make a return reservation there as well.
In Manila, they start boarding about 15 minutes prior to departure time. If they have everyone who have purchased tickets on board, they will leave a few minutes early. If you've purchased a ticket in advance and are not there, they will wait a couple minutes, max, before leaving. The cafe in the Swagman MNL is convenient for waiting, but it's a rip off.
*** If an extra 1000 p is no big deal, airport pick up by one of the various providers is hands down the easiest, if you're going straight to AC upon arrival.

Be street wise when using public transport in the Philippines. It is quite common for one or more passengers in a public bus to rob all the passengers at gun point, then stop the bus and run off (known in Filipino lingo as 'Hold-ups'). Filipinos warn me a lot on this. Recently it happened on an aircon public bus Manila to Alabang (an aircon bus was chosen as the robbers thought that people on an aircon bus, rather than non-aircon, have more money) and on two other recent occations on L3 vans. I would suspect the Swagman bus is safer.
