I lived in CH-Basel in younger days and still visit infrequently, so I suppose I can be of help.
First, get used to the idea that Switzerland in general, and Basel in particular, is extremely bourgois. In terms of mongering this means that everything is either incredibly seedy (when the neighbour's not watching...) or incredibly expensive. Secondly, as could perhaps also be expected the market transparency is high, the girls are honest and you feel very safe even on foot at midnight in the midst of the redlight district.
One story about honesty: a couple of years ago I went to a somewhat upscale studio (=brothel) in Basel. A very goodlooking 21 y.o. German girl received me in the buff and told me the price was 200 CHF for a FS, 300 CHF for half an hour, 500 CHF for an hour. I went for the half-hour service, and we started with a good covered 69. It was one of these places where hygiene is 200% guaranteed, so kissing and fingering was not on. OK, down to business. Like in most places there are four main kinds of mongering in Basel: street action, studios, (night) clubs and escorts.
Street action. I would recommend against it, as almost all the girls are drug addicts and NOT in a good shape. However, if you're into that kind of action it takes place mainly in Kleinbasel, the northern part of town, and is concentrated in the immediate vincinity of the Claramatte park and a couple of small streets between the park and the Rhine. The cantonal police has tried to concentrate the trade rather than stamp it out. A couple of years ago they even published a list of streets in which this illegal action would be "tolerated". (Yes, really!) Prices are 50+ CHF for a quick-and-dirty.
Studios. They advertise everywhere, including in the daily advertisement paper Baslerstab. You can find plenty of information on the net, though it's easier if you speak a bit of German. The best online service is probably the "Schweizer Sexfuehrer" but these days they demand cash for their services. An alternative which is not bad is this: http://www.contactnet.ch/default.asp, but please be aware that this portal erroneously lists many of the studios as clubs. The studios are found all over town, but there's a concentration in three neighbourhoods, namely Gundeli (between the railway station and Dornacherstrasse), MUBA Messe (the trade fair halls in Kleinbasel) and the western neighbourhoods around the Lothringerstrasse. Prices are 150-200 CHF for FS and quality varies from mediocre to good. There are few Swiss girls in the trade. The pros at the high end are generally German, and at the low end Thais.
Clubs. Most of the clubs are located around a giant T. The street Clarastrasse connects the MUBA Messe with the oldest bridge across the Rhine. Just before reaching the bridge it is crossed by the Untere Rheingasse. It is on and within one block from these streets that you find most of the action. The nature of the clubs (15-20 of them in all) varies greatly. Close to Clarastrasse you find upmarket places opening late, with genuine striptease shows and high prices. The hostesses here do not see themselves principally as prostitutes, and you'll need a big purse or a lot of charm to take them home with you. As you move away from Clarastrasse (especially close to the Rhine, going in a westernly direction) you find hostess bars where girls (German, Domenican, African...) petition you for overpriced champagne. These girls are definitely for sale. Some of them have "rooms upstairs", others ask you to provide the venue. The price for an-hour-plus with the latter is around 300 CHF, the price for a short-time upstairs with the former is 150-200 CHF. To this, add the price of the champagne - but at least they don't rip you off with the drinks bill, this is Switzerland.
Escorts. I have no experience whatsoever. They demand prices that are entirely consistent with Manhattan and that's out of my budget. Sorry.

There are different scenes around here in Basel:
1) Red light district
The red light district is in the "Kleinbasel" area of the town. The location is within the triangle "Mittlere Brücke", "Messe" and "Kaserne". You should be able to find this area using a town map. There are some Bars and also smaller brothels (mainly Thai girls) within this area. Some bars open about 04:0 pm (Roter Kater, Moulin Rouge,...) other open at 09:0 pm (Klingental Bar). Within the bars opening at 04:00 pm you can meet girls for a talk.
You have to pay them a glass of champagne (named "Cüpli") which is about CHF 40 - CHF50. Then you can go upstairs with them. The price is starting from CHF 100.- for a "20 minutes quickie" . In the Klingental Bar you don't have to pay a drink for the girl - you can directly go upstairs with the girl of your choice.
2) Street girls with rooms / brothels
In the same area there are also streetgirls working. They all have rooms and the price is also starting at CHF 100.-. Also brothels (with girls lokking out from the window) are available in this area, price is also starting from CHF 100.-
3) Street girls without rooms in the Claramatte area
I stongly recommend NOT to "invite" street girls from the Claramatte area, which is just 100 meters in the north of the red light district. The girls are mostly junkies and the police is checking this area frequently because this is not a legal prostitution zone. If you are catched by the police you have to pay between CHF 100.- and CHF 300.-, also you will receive a registered mail (which could be received also by your girlfriend...) from the police with an exact description of where they catched you. Even though the price is low (starting from CHF 30.-), do not choose this possibility.
4) Street girls without rooms in the Bahnhof Wolf area
There is a second (allowed) street girl zone in Basel. When you dirve on the highway just use the exit "Bahnhof SBB / Güterbahnhof Wolf" and keep left when leaving the highway. There are some girls (ähm ... mostly older woman) after 09:00 pm waiting for the customers. It's not really worth to go there when you also care about the optical factor.
5) Studios / girls
There are a lot of good studios in the Basel area. Just use www.sexy-tipp or one of the addresses named in previous postings. But always remember that the prices in Switzerland are above the standard and also a nice girl starts at about CHF 200 for 1/2 hour.

On the home page of the Globe website I noticed a banner for a new club to open in Liestal near Basel.

Liestal is about 15 Km (9 miles) from Basel and there are frequent trains from Basel which take between 10 and 15 minutes. We will have to see it's exact location when the website gets updated.

Getting There
FKK-Club History is located at Hammerstrasse 24, Liestal, CH-4057. From the Basel main station take the S3 tram in the direction of Olten. Get off at what I believe is the 3rd stop at Frenkendorf-Fullinsdorf, the stop after after Pratteln and before Liestal. Even though the address is given as Liestal, the club is actually in Fullinsdorf, right over the line from Frenkendorf.
From the train station head northeast onto Guterstrasse and head down the hill and east on Niederschontalstr. The street due East changes names after a roundabout to Muhlerainstrasse. Take the first right after the roundabout onto Hammerstrasse. Club History is on the right in less than half a kilometer, clear as day and just like shown on the website.
The Deal
Entry fee is CHF90. There are two lockers: one by the front desk for your wallet and other valuables; one past the showers. You also get the towel and sandals. I didn't see a buffet, but there is a kino. Non-alcoholic drinks are unlimited for free; alcoholic drinks are all charged.
Providers' services start at CHF90 for 15 or CHF 140 for 30 minutes. That's for BBBJ and vanilla FS. Hourly and longer rates are subject to negotiation. My experience on a slow day is that if business is slow the ladies are in no hurry to turn it over and don't watch the clock. As always, YMMV.
The providers pay for the rooms out of their take, and some may want to be more public for any of a number of reasons, including they don't have to pay management for the room. While I only went in one room and peaked in a couple of others, they seem pretty elaborate affairs, named after historical characters set up in different related themes. I was in Basel for work last week and found none of the problems that I'd been expecting after reading this forum. You might be thinking 'hey its Switzerland' but there is still a scene here in Basel.
RLD. There's a small (and I mean very small) RLD in Brantgasse, near the Plaza. Easy walking distance from the Swissotel and Ramada Plaza hotels. The district comprises three or four walk-ups, with buzz-me-in apartments. Standard fare is CHF 100 for 20 mins, CHF 150 for 30 mins, but don't expect a class act. The girls I saw were average 6/10. Some Thai, Chinese, EEuropean, Columbian, etc. The Columbian girl was a definite 8, but spoke no English. The places are OK, but could do with a spring clean. Bit too dirty for me so I left them alone.
SW. Around Brantgasse and the Claramatte park towards the river there are the occasional SWs. Mainly Africans. Bit pushy and dressed like it's the arctic! I only met three or four, but again decided this was not really my scene and certainly not worth the CHF 150 for 30 mins.
Clubs. I visited Bar Ipanema on Sperrstrasse and was pleasantly surprised. It was after 12 and the place was buzzing for a mid-week night. I counted some 15-20 girls: a full range mostly 6 and 7, an occasional 8 and a few 4 or 5 fraus! I stayed for a couple of drinks and chatted with a few of the girls. A few were from Dominican, others E European. A couple were a bit pushy, but most were just flirty (and dressed to impress). You have to buy the girl a drink, but unlike other places it wasn't extortionate (just CHF 15) and then you get to go with them to an upstairs room for 'whatever' you and the girl choose. FKK Basel. Lastly, I enjoyed a couple of evenings at this renouned resort. It's everything all the other reports live up to. So go check it out yourself. The girls are young, fresh and willing. So, I'd say well worth a visit if you're in the Basel area, especially to compare the Globe-style experience to places like Artemis, etc.

Spent a couple of evenings at Club History in Liestal. They have a discount drive right now so entrance was 65 CHF and 30 minutes for 84 CHF. A bit slow with few men at the club. The only value comparison I had in mind was that Basel FKK was going to cost Chf 70.00 Entry, plus Chf 70.00 for each 1/2-hour basic, no frills full sex. So essentially, I figured Basel FKK was essentially Chf. 210.00 for (2) girls, over two hours.

Last month I was in Basel for work and I suddenly realized my hotel was within walking distance from FKK Basel (Messe area in Basel). So, I felt I had to do something about that and even if I was not expecting a great LU, I picked some cash up and started walking towards Amerbachstrasse. You enter the club from the patio area and as I was standing in line to pay the entrance, I've hear someone asking for Jasmin. So my mind immediately recorded the name to be later hunted in the club. Reception woman is very friendly and explained everything properly.
About the club: Everything that people say about the club in need of major refurbishment is true but I have to add that everything seems very clean and looked after. There is just old furniture and bathroom fittings around. There is small sauna and jacuzzi working fine.
The showers are shared with girls and I kind of liked it as you frequently find yourself showering together with the girl you have session with.
The temperature in the main bar area and in two of the 6 rooms is properly controlled and as there were more than 30 C outside, it was nice to have a cool area at the bar and during session.
There if free food and soft beverages around. When I was there there was a reasonably good pasta bake, various fruits and pastries.
Entrance is 69 CHF, 10 CHF to rent the room and 70 CHF /30 min for the girls. You can also pay in EUR. You can have sex in kino if you wish, but that has never been my thing.
About the girls: Now, do not expect a big line up as this is still a small club. The girls are generally very friendly and do not harass you too much. You just have to give them a slight sign of interest sometimes, so that they come over and talk to you. On the night I was there there were around 15 girls and about 5-6 men. I noticed Jasmin (probably Ro, but not sure) a bit too late as she was busy for a big part of the night with one client. Very beautiful fase and medium size, slightly sagging, boobs. Don't know if FKK Basel is already re-opened.The FKK Basel has merged with the Pascha. I didn't visited it, but some reports on the web were not very positive.

Made a few visits to Club History in May / June, one of the Imperium clubs. Overall, a very nice place.
Can be reached by a 15 min walk from Frenkendorf-Fullinsdorf railway station. At this time there were a number of packages available, and I always took the 349 XXL 3 x30 mins option. Normal rate is 120/30, but any Globe girls present get their usual 150/30.
Ground floor is reception, then locker room and showers and one side and wellness on the other. All very nice, and the jacuzzi with wonderfully positioned TV was my favourite relaxation stop (you can find channel-changing buttons on the LHS back of screen). Cool and quiet atmosphere. For the new visitor the club is a bit of a maze of corridors and it takes a while to get orientated.
Upstairs is the bar, large lounge area, kino and some rooms (more on next level). Girls serve drinks, and no routine pole dancing ala Globe. Lounge has many separate ares with wide-enough-for-sex couches, so this was my favourite location. Kino is also good. Off this level is an outdoor area with lounges and a bitterly cold swimming pool. Not really any places for outdoor sex, probably due to the neighbouring office blocks that have a lovely view of anything going on. Bar area was warmish during the day, but nothing like Globe gets during summer.
I was there for the Public Sex on Mondays from 4-8 pm, and it was much different to Globe on Tuesdays, Very few if any men early on, then a few from around 5 pm onwards. Didn't see any wank-only voyeurs, and due to the layout any sessions weren't that visible anyway.
There is no restaurant, but you can order local take-away via reception. I ended up buying a few rolls at the Migros near the station and having BYO food. I was told a kitchen is being installed.

I can recommend Studio Elite in Basel.
