So, I came here to find information. Obviously, I have never been to Colombia or I would know all this stuff.
I was mearly asking for some Idea of what to expect if I go at some time.
If I come here first for information and idea before I go so that way I can make sure I don't over pay and/or ruin price for future mongering.
I wanted to find out how the mansion works, to know what to expect. I tried to do this without spelling it out. But, I guess I will. I saw it as a hotel where I can stay and fuck prostitutes. I was wondering whether or not its legal there, included in the price of the room, provided by the staff, or you have to go out and find your own. Believe me I can bargain with the best of them and I absolutely will NOT over pay , however, if I didn't ask her I would never know.
Its silly becuase you all know that here in the Sex Prison here that $ is nothing and really won't get you much of anything except a diseased street *****. Most decent girls charge $$$ and the real performers charge $$$$ or more. So, in an american mongers eyes who is untraveled for mongering, $100 is really next to nothing. So , if I can pay $ for the room $ for the ***** and have $150 left over to eat drink shop and explore I am happy.
Thanks for the info I will now definately pay much less. You guys are not remembering the good old days before you discovered mongering outside the USA. Those of you never lived here, you never had to deal with it so you are lucky.

I hear ya... truth be told it'd be rather simple for the Mansion Management to say prices are now 60k pesos for an hour and 90k pesos TLN. They do that and sure gals will pout... but at the end of the day my bet is not 1 decides to quit working with the gringos at the Mansion. After all, where else will they get this kind of cash. Sure they might be able to go work at takeout club but is that anything like all the fun and excitement and their dream... the chance to find their blue eyed Principe? Plus the pool, dates to Mangos and Parque Lleras, and just as the men that stay at the Mansion are really kind of like a Fraternity and male bonding... these chicas are kind of like a sorority and female bonding. they wouldn't lose a single gal.. at least not a single gal that's worth it anyways. No one wants some hard card ho anyways. Humble, passionate, loving latinas is what it's all about. For eveyr chica that is lost there are 100 that would take her place.
It's kind of like going to a sold out NBA playoff game. You decide to go buy from scalpers. There's oh about 30 people looking for tickets and there's about 100 scalpers that combined have a total of 1000 seats. Assume all the seats are the exact same. 99 of the scalpers are offering tickets at an average price of $100-120 (and all the tickets are the exact same location). 1 scalper is selling his tickets for $400 a pop. Exact same ticket as the other 99 scalpers. Which one are you going to buy?
Same philosphy holds for the guys staying at a plac like the mansion. Because you are sleeping at the mansion you get to pay 150k-250k todo la noche... when in reality everyone else in Colombia pays no more than half that amount. Personally I prefer free tickets to the game. Same holds with chicas, I prefer using a little bit of game and finding a humble beauty and its free. Anyone can find this, but how many chicas are going to sleep with someone at the Mansion for free when they know they can charge you 150k pesos or they can just find some other sucker in the house?
That's my recommendation... 90k pesos TDL and 60k for an hour. That's what Mansion Management should do.... and they probably won't lose a single gal. And if they do, she probably wasn't sweet, humble, and worth having around anyways. Would I pay this much for a chica? Nope. But it's a fair price considering the alternatives the gals have. Though, the Mansion should sell itself to the chicas.. I.e. sleep with a gringo vs sleep with someone who probably treets me like shit. sleep in a secured fun location versus who knows where the colombiano is going to take me. get a date to Mangos and Parque Lleras versus who knows where. Get to sleep in nice soft beds and wake up in the morning to breakfast versus ???
The advantages are endless. And if a specific chica doesnt like the new pricing structure.. oh well. There's thousands in Medellin that would die to take their place. Just as there are many other tickets availabel from other scalpers willing to unload their tickets at a fair price.
True enough. But there is an outside possibility that the mansion could have some trouble with the law by getting too involved with price-setting. If it could be legally done, it would seem that there would be more money in selling pussy than rooms. I know that the local casas/massage parlors do it, but they are not owned by extranjeros.
There will always be higher-priced venues and lower-priced venues.

Guys, I definitely learned a lot about the price point at the Mansion during my stay there earlier this month. I had a great time there and I hemmed up a chica there and gave her between 100,000 to 150,000 pesos tln not short term for 5 days and she hung out with me a whole hell of a lot. Chocha is negotiable there, but to be honest, I prefer hitting up the houses around town. More bang for your buck. One thing I love about Medellin is the price point is wide and not narrow like the DR.

Just arrived back from Australia, would you believe I only spent two nights in my old home town, I wrote a letter to my ex-wife to say that I am arriving to see my 5 year old son and when I returned, she left Perth the same day I arrived with my son to Europe, what a ****, I throught fuck it, I was missing Medellin so much, I just hopped on the plane again to Colombia, given that I spent 48 days in the Carrabean plus a week in Brisbane with one of my mates, I thought that I should return to work and help out.
Medellin Bob said to me, Fuck you you Bastard, your not going anywhere for a year, I said thats O.K. mate, the Australian Cricket team are due back in the Carrabean this time next year, Im of again for 2 months.
So all in all, Ive had a good break, looking forward to seeing all our guests, workers, girlfriends, todos.

I was at La Mansion in March around the time you left for the cricket tourney (congrats on the Aussie victory). I know you are thinking of starting a strip club in Medellin, but I'm going to be forward and suggest something to you. I think Medellin needs a big working girl disco or bar rather than (or in addition to) another strip club. Let me explain why.
I am sure there are a lot of guys like me who like the idea of going to a bar or disco where there are 50 or more lovely ladies all available to take home without paying a barfine. In such bars, one can have several drinks with the ladies and dance with them, taking time to get to know them before choosing one. Then one can take them back to ones room and possibly have them spend the night.
Such venues are by far my preferred venue and are popular in a number of cities I have visited:
Rio - Help Disco, Meia Pattaca, others
Jakarta - Tigah Puluh, BATS, others
Bali - Bounty Bar, MBargo, others
Pattaya - Marine Disco, Tony's, Lucifer
Phnom Penh - Martini's
Bangkok - Nana disco etc
and many others
Those who are already enamored of Medellin already probably don't care about this, but I like a gfe/TLN experience and a venue, busy almost every night that offers a smorgasbord of many working girls with whom I can dance and get to know. This is absent in Medellin and a big reason I am not particularly motivated to return there and prefer the above listed towns. Maybe I missed something, but it seemed that all of the (exclusively working girl) venues in Medellin were much smaller, oriented to short time activities in a room on premises (which I don't usually care for) and/or charged a bar fine. If Medellin had the kind of venue I suggest, given the number of hot girls there, I would likely return.
Just my 2 cents. Hope someone in Medellin will consider this - maybe you.

It's difficult enough just for a Colombiano to do it, as one would instantly become a guerilla target. Which might be the least of one's worries considering the line of business the militia will be there nightly for kickbacks not to close the place down. Lots and lots of problems. Others may have a different view.

Frankly, it is a huge hassle just living here. I am retired and have no plans to do any kind of business activity in Colombia. It took EPS nearly 3 months to install gas service in my apartment in MDE. I could write an epistle longer than anything Winner has written detailing Colombian mind fucks just trying to accomplish little everyday shit.
I have to fly to Bogota tomorrow to see MRE about a resident VISA. I have been told at an interview with MRE in Medellin that all my paperwork is in order. I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that MRE in Bogota thinks of something else that I need.
The only thing easy in Colombia is getting laid. Everything else is very, very difficult.

Because of a water leek in the walls and roof of the Mansion, we have decided to under go the complete refit of rooms 12, 10, 7 and in the next 2 weeks, also install double glass windows of all rooms that are at the front of the Mansion because of the construction of the 12 story building and the noise in front of the Mansion.
We have relocated guests to other rooms as best we can. We are sorry for any inconvience that guests have to undertake but in the end we will be able to give a better service.

i'm thinking about to go to the medellin mansion for one or two weeks, because seems that you have big parties with pretty paisas and enjoy with other hobbies (parapente, shoot practices, etc).
i talked with lina from mansion and she wroted one email with al rooms avaliabilities.the pool parties on sunday are awesome.
the ladies that happen to visit now and then always seemed to be an unexpected treat.
i went on the mansions shooting tour. twice. it was great.
if there are rooms available, better decide quick or they won't be available, which is the reason i ended up in costa rica in may instead of colombia.

thanksin my opinion, you'll do fine at either the mansion or el castillo. if anything, you'll be better off than most since you'll be able to communicate freely with all the staff and the girls and from your text, it's obvious that your engish is good enough to get by with the non-spanish speakers.
i don't agree that most of the other gringo guests speak passable spanish and, i think speaking fluent spanish gives you an advantage over the rest.
i prefer to stay at el castillo and attend the parties at the mansion. in early august during la feria de las flores, there will be even more parties and girls than nomal so the possibility of having a nice gfe is good. if you're there, i'll know from your spaniard accent that it's you.

Have to agree with that. While I've never stayed at the Mansion, there is a reason it is/was always booked. And it wasn't so mongerers could pay putas 3 to 5 times the amount "normal" non-Mansion customers pay putas in Medellin. Certainly Greg moves on to something bigger and better... if not for himself, but for all the chicas that he has put into the highlife. Will be interesting to see Greg's next move.

I´m still and always be a Mansion man, I still regard it as part of me and still live here and help out the best I can, I mean, what other better places are there than to live other than Medellin ? maybe by the sea somwhere but not in Colombia.

The last week has been quiet, its given us a chance to carry out a few renovations/repairs but now where full again (a few spots available at the Castillo)

I think you have got it wrong, I still live at the Mansion and still run the place with consultation with the owners, I look after one owners interest so I really dont know what your going on about ¨no more Aussie Greg´ every thing is still the same.
I still run the Sunday barbies and live and run the Mansion, no non guests at the Sunday barbies, we are really flat out looking after our guests.
I also post for the Mansion on this board and on another, trying to keep people up to date with whats happening at the Mansion.
My next holidays will be next March/April with the Australian cricket team coming back to the Caribee, until then my friends, its all me at the Mansion.

I'm sorry you changed your policy about non-guests attending your barbecue. I fully understand your desire to give your guests "first crack" at the girls that will be in attendance - but alot of us non-guests did enjoy stopping by, contributing money towards the food and helping out with your beauty contests.
Fantasy and I are kind of "loners"- we enjoy traveling on our own and planning our trips "by the seat of our pants." No offense Greg, but we don't fit in real well in organized monger hotels.
I will however, be sure to stop by and say "Hi" when I'm in town next. I enjoyed your Sunday Barbie - but I understand your position.

No the 500K was for a session but let me clarify a couple of things.
First, that was only two crazy gals out of about a good 15 or so girls that were at the pool throughout the day and night. Most went for guys for around 100K or less.
Next, Greg is right the second girl ended up going for 195K. Also, he does a great job getting the number of girls up to help the guest's negotating for sure.
Point is that when you go to the Mansion and you see a girl asking a crazy price you should just laugh and walk away. I think it'll help all the guests in the long run.
500K!!!! --pretty soon it will be 700K for the hour. Guys I need another trip to the mansion but please pull the newbie mongers to the side and tell them the price--not too long ago, guys were saying 150K was too much and now they are asking 195-500K for the hour?

Listen, I met you and I think you are a basically a nice guy. You are also new to Medellin and the Mansion so I will be a little easy on you...
First, it was ME who told you that if you negotiate too hard you might get bad service and THIS is why the pricing starting so high is bad for business. So dont sit here and use my words against me.
Secondly I admit that I got the pricing wrong but still 195K COP is high. If you knew the market you would know this information.
Third, that ***** Lorena did steal a bottle of rum and more things from my room but not because I negotiated her down. I have many times got a good price and had good service. Lorena is just a stupid ***** with or without having a few drinks in her. Just ask Robert. This is for another post though.
You just dont understand the market so dont come on here after one or two times in Colombia and act like you know what is going on. If you want to do something positive then stop coming to the Mansion and inflating the prices for everyone else.
But he'd pay $100? What's the difference? If he's staying at his own hotel away from gringos he pays 60k-80k pesos max for the exact same chica.
I agree that Greg doesn't need to be setting a bar on max price. But geez, how about rounding up some chicas that are happy with 40-60k pesos. You guys are really getting taken to the cleaners. I will in no way state that it affects me, as it doesn't. I can still take her for 50k pesos if I want. The only people this overpaying ruins it for are the future Mansion customers, as they are setting a precedence for what "sucker" gringos will pay. Future "suckers" will always pay what she thinks she can get and it's in her best interest to be in an envirnment where there are gringos galore. rg.i have to respectfully disagree with you on this one radioglide, only the first part. if they really cared about their clients they would insist that the girls not charge more than 150.000cop which is what it was when i was there in april 2006. this would be very easy to do; staff could tell the prostitutes that they could not ply their trade at the mansion unless they complied with a fixed price limit. since they have never been willing to do this i believe someone gets a kick back from the girls like they do from the mansion taxi drivers. i know they charge a fee for giving the drivers mansion business, more than one has quit because of it, someone told me it was 10% but i’m not sure. so the more the girls charge the more fees they can collect from them. therefore, it would not be prudent of them to enforce a price freeze. i do not know if the mansion it self charges the fee or an individual staff member.
the prostitutes who work at the mansion ask more than anyone else in town, at least i have not heard of or read anywhere of any one reporting girls asking 300 to 500.000cop even at loutron's which is the highest priced massage parlor.

The NEW owners recently tossed Ford and I from the Sunday BBQ's. Now take it, we have never stayed at the Mansion, and have never ever taken a girl from there, but we always chipped in substantially for food and beverage.
And the last time we were there, we doubled the prize money for the dance contest at our own expense!
Maybe the new owners feel that we should not mingle with the 200,000 -500,000 peso paying customers. I certainly would have tried to bring someone to their senses. I wonder how that amount is divided up anyway? I felt we served a purpose there, translating for all the guests. Oh well, another Sunday BBQ will turn up soon. And we will leave the "Super Models" here at the mansion.

Secondly I admit that I got the pricing wrong but still 195K COP is high. If you knew the market you would know this information.

The NEW owners recently tossed Ford and I from the Sunday BBQ's. Now take it, we have never stayed at the Mansion, and have never ever taken a girl from there, but we always chipped in substantially for food and beverage.
And the last time we were there, we doubled the prize money for the dance contest at our own expense!
Maybe the new owners feel that we should not mingle with the 200,000 -500,000 peso paying customers. I certainly would have tried to bring someone to their senses. Day 1.

The highlight of this nights stay was meeting ¨Senorita Santander¨ (Bucanamungar) and having breakfast with her and her mother, sorry no photo´s as my new camera has not arrived from the States yet.
Day 2.

Missed out on seeing my girlfriend in the morning so just went driving in the country side (beautifull cattle country, as good as any where in the world)

Monteria is a very strong farming area (I guess strong Paramilitary to as they are farmers and business people)with Aboletes being a large Colombian holiday area with many tourists.
My girlfriends family are from Aboletes, Monteria is a large area (Cordoba) and goes right over to the Panama border, you might be thinking of this area.
I can see that the poor people would be interested in some activity because of the difference between the poor and the rich farming/business people.
I did see many military/police activity at check stops but just the mormal activity on major highways, all in all a great trip and dont believe all the bullshit thats around generaly from people who dont know.

I felt that what the Mansion was charging for the stuff in the mini bar was way more than I wanted to spend. I had no problem asking them NOT to stock it, instead I walked over to the Pamona grocery store behind the Oviado Mall and stocked it myself for a fraction of the price. I also got what I wanted not what they gave me. Do not be shy about asking for what you want, after all you are paying them alot of money to stay there, remember without you they would not be in business.I agree, 75cents for a bottled water is too much when I can walk 6 blocks and get it for 60 cents. The city of Monteria is the capital of the Departamento of Cordoba. I am speaking of the city and the area surrounding it. You obviously have more recent information than I do, but I would still not go there.
I do intend to stop by and see you. I am in the US now until the end of Sept. I was busy over Christmas buying my apartment in Medellin/Conquistadores. When I was in town in April and May, I was busy remodeling and getting my VISA shit straightened out. The remodeling is done, and I'm on the road to a permanent VISA. All I have to do when I return is play.

I picked this girl up from the evening of the Sunday BBQ at the Mansion. Greg said that they have only been there a couple of times. Robert knew her too.
I was told that the policy at the Mansion is that performance can be an issue and will be addressed if there are repeated complaints but they do not get involved in pricing or if a girl steals from the room. Sometimes guests think that something is stolen and find out later that they misplaced it so I can sort of understand this policy. I urged Greg not to let Lorena back because I was pissed but I am just one customer. I also suggested that they put a lock on the frig in the rooms but I don't think this is something that would be put on a high list of priorities. I took 2 guests on a tour to Manizales, center of the coffee region Chinchina, Pereria, Armenia then back to Medellin, I also took my personal secretary ----.
She is well educated, speak very good english, lived in the States for awhile, has a boyfriend who leads a very interesting life here in Medellin etc, etc !!!!!
Just as we got to the ourscurts of MDE, she said to me is the highway safe !! She had never been on the major highway south of Medellin all her life and there she was telling me ¨is it safe¨ after I had taken many tours along this highway.
Many Colombians wouldnt even know about there own country, yes I´m the first to say that years back, even 2 years back, many areas were unsafe and still are unsafe which I will not go but things have changed so much in 2 years and even before that.
I think I can say having seen many areas with my own eyes, talking to Police and Military at check stops, hotel owners in the towns we stay and also local people (we at the Mansion have a meeting with the police here in Medellin every 2 weeks just to find out whats going on in this area and where the hot spots are)

We had the Mango´s dancers organised but then the managment said on Friday night at Mango´s that no dancers dancing or they will be sacked !!!!

That place is the biggest Bullshit novelty place that grows old and stale really quickly. I went once so I can say ive been there. I dropped 400k for 2 bottles of rum and cokes, THEN the 15k entrance fee? So it was almost 500k total including taxis. Yeah, it is fun to watch the Aussie in Mangos for sure but my point is that it's very expensive and it's harder to meet women there. Having said that, I did have this 19 year old cutie pick me up there one night but it was some special college party night or something. Never had any problem with the FARC ot PARAS. This area is pretty clean now. The biggest worries are over towards Turbo and the Darian for this area. There are a few splinter group activities around Sincelejo. At any rate, I've had more problems from the transito than the paras. The biggest problem we have is the stolen camera aroung here at the beach. Regular problems.
If you guys have the chance, the Mud Volcano here is a great place to visit. Nothing like the volcano in Cartagena, its huge.

At any rate, I've had more problems from the transito than the paras. The biggest problem we have is the stolen camera aroung here at the beach. Regular problems.
If you guys have the chance, the Mud Volcano here is a great place to visit. Nothing like the volcano in Cartagena, its huge.

Manizales, Chinchina, Pereria, Armina, Bogota and back to Medellin, about a week in all.

It's hard to believe that I only discovered Medellin two years ago. It's seems like a lifetime since I took my first snapshot of a beautiful Paisa and it was only a few days ago when I snapped my latest.
I sat down intending to write a report when I thought I'd go through some of my favorite snapshots to post. Then I had the idea to put a video of sorts together and with the help of MS movie maker I put together a little tribute.
I'd appreciate your comments good or bad and if enough good comments come along, I may produce a "Night Version" tribute as well because I have lots of never before seen stuff in the photo vault as well as new material.

Medellin really got nice girls (i am going to send a longer report later next week ,with lots of photos).
I can really recommend that you stay at the Medellin Mansions when you are in Medellin.
The location is very good and safe
The first day the guy in charge at the Castillos took me and another guest for a "casatour" for free !
