Finally back in AC after a 3 year hiatus.

I wrapped up my AC visit (first one since 2018) and here are some of my thoughts, observations and opinions.
1. If you are dreaming of the old AC of cheap sex and wild bars, it is no longer the same place. If you consider it as a reasonable cost destination with lots of available pussy, and with BBFS still the standard, it is a good place to go. Most bars have reopened and there are plenty of girls. Tourists picking up but still many bars were empty.
2. There are pretty girls. There are also fat and ugly (fugly) girls. ID say the ratio of pretty girls is about 30%.
3. Attitudes vary. The consistent high GFE and LT that used to be the case is no longer so. You have to pick more carefully. Interestingly I found my best hits at small Korean owned bars. It helps to go more than once to the same bar. Once they know you the mama san or papa san will steer you the the best girls. Here I did find high GFE pretty girls who stayed all night.
4. Cost: Lowest BF was 2200 on Perimeter and 2900 in Walking Street area. Average was about 3500. ST bars were asking 1500. FLs were all happy with 1500, some may accept less. Ladies drinks have defaulted to a "double" at 300 Peso each. Your own drink will be between 75 and 150 Peso each.
5. So is it worth it? Well it depends. I spent 5 days in AC and a week diving and it was a 3. 5 hour flight for me. So in that context it was a good trip. But would I spend 24 hours and 2 K USD on a ticket just to go to AC? Probably not. As a stop over on an extended PI holiday its probably fine.

I am going to disagree with the statement that most Freelancers are not a LT deal. Every freelancer just about I have stayed with in Angeles in over 10 years has stayed with me all night long. Apologies my dudes but I'm having a rough time here in Cambodia and just trying to get the F out.
Question is this: where in the chaotic and confusing Ninoy Aquino airport full of potential scams and other hazards should I walk after arrivals to find a tax that will drive me to Angeles that second and not cheat me. I'm thinking 1600-2000 pesos should be possible for this? Is that realistic?
Second question if this is not a good idea, what's the best way to get to that Victory Pasay liner station- which I think has a bus to Dau? Last time I believe I took an official white taxi there but had to wait for literally 2 hours before it was my turn. In the rain. The other taxis lurking around predictably tried to rip me off. It's a real shark tank once you leave the arrivals area so any info would help.
I promise to repay with several Angeles City reports full of granular detail in the coming weeks.

RS.I always had the hotel I stayed at arrange a taxi to pick me up from the airport. Contact whatever hotel you are staying at and ask them to send a taxi to meet you the day you arrive. Then there will be some guy holding a sign with your name on it when you arrive and you are all set. Not sure if it is still there but as my username implies, my favorite hotel on fields ave was walkabout hotel. Simple, cheap, but clean and right in the middle of the action on fields ave. They would send a taxi every time for me if I just emailed them ahead if time.

When you come out of immigration there is a bus that goes directly to Angeles for about 400 pesos. Just walk outside and go to the right.

That advice was always use a taxi that is moving. Those that hang around outside a hotel or waiting on a taxi cue will cost you more because you have to pay for his down time. Makes sense doesn't it?
So to answer your question when exiting the terminal go upstairs to the departure deck and get a taxi that just let off a passenger. That taxi is moving and is eager to quickly get another fare. You can try bargaining for a trip to Your hotel in Angeles. Considering the increased cost of fuel I think maybe 2,500 pesos will be acceptable but he pays the tolls. Make sure you take a picture of him, his license and car and let him see you do it. Send it to to someone. That will discourage shenanigans on his part. West Coast, one of our more prolific posters, merely bluffs taking pictures which is probably just as effective. Oh, BTW as a selling point in your negotiations you can tell the cabbie that on his way back from Angeles he can stop by the Dau bus terminal and try to get a group of passengers who will pay a modest amount to get a taxi ride back to Manila. It's better than riding back in an empty cab.
You can also have your cabbie take you to victory liner. He will offer you a flat fee so that he can turn his meter off and skim off the books. I don't think it's more than 300 pesos but these taxi drivers wear you out with there chiseling tactics.

The Genesis bus to Clark is at Terminal 3 so my first challenge was to get there- not so hard right? Wrong. I find the shuttle and the man says, "can I please see your connecting flight ticket sir? I have no connecting flight, I'm trying to get the Bus to Clark. "Sorry, sir, the shuttle is for connecting flights only. " I try to reason with this dude for five minutes before he finally relents but damn. The shuttle to Terminal 3 drops off upstairs at departures- not a big deal, right? Wrong. It's not easy getting downstairs to the bays as all the entrances have long security lines and there are no external stairs. I get shuffled from entrance 9 to entrance 6, then they say go to entrance 5. I wait in a long ass line at entrance 5: "Sorry sir, your luggage is too big, you need to go to entrance 6. " Jesus. I wait in a long ass line at entrance 6. "Where is your airline ticket sir?" I have no ticket. I'm just trying to get downstairs to the Genesis Bus. "Sorry sir, you need to wait at entrance 5". At this point I put my foot down- no I just came from there. Let me in. "Ok no problem". I finally get downstairs and head to Bay 3 as listed on the Genesis website only to discover the bus is now at Bay 11. Got that everyone, Genesis Bus to Clark at Bay 11 downstairs at Terminal 3? The Genesis Bus arrives, 400 pesos, I sleep the entire time and the dropoff is at Clark SM Mall 2 hours later. If you are not coming from Terminal 2 it should be about 100 x easier than I've described and this is a great method to get to Angeles- no taxi, no Victory Pasay Liner etc. Etc.
My hotel is close to Walking Street. I sleep for the rest of the day, wake up, have some food at Kokomos, and then start cruising the strip. I don't really think the situation is as bleak as many have described. There seem to be plenty of bars and clubs open, plenty of girls, and not too many mongers. Sure not everything is open- but at this point the number of mongers is low enough that it's not an issue. I might even prefer the current situation to the Summer of 2019. As for the Korean Mongers that seem to give us so much anxiety- yes they are there walking around, comprising maybe about ½ or more of the punters. RS.3 weeks ago I had the same issue with the Terminal Bus. I arrived from Cebu at T2 and wanted to go to T3 to get the Genesis Bus, then they also told me it is only for connecting Flights.
This must be something new.
Before the Pandemic I alway took the Bus for free from T1 to T3 with zero problems. Now they don't let you on the Bus and you have to take a taxi to go to other Terminal. Not good, they are working together with the Taxi Gangsters. I hate that.
This BS ist typical for the PH. They often have these stupid rules and keep to it.

Seems they are back up almost where they used to be before the last move lol. It was bay #1 as of late April when I arrived. For freelancers go Freelancer Corner (Raymond St) at around 21:30 - it's pretty thin before that and your options are more limited. I've never been out past midnight so can't vouch for the scene late night / early morning. Another very unexpected discovery is that many of the bars have dayshifts that begin at 9:30 am. Yes, you heard me correct. Another theme was terrible service. I'm not really sure how this laissez faire approach makes sense economically, it's very different from Pattaya where it seems like a whole team of people are there to milk you and massage your money from you every step of the way-you will be asked almost immediately if you would like to chose a girl etc etc. I hate to come back to this theme because it might be an insecurity that's not in accord with reality, but is it because they are mostly focused on Asian men and just see me as an incidental curiosity not really worth catering to? Sometimes it feels that way whether it is true or not, and another reason I prefer Pattaya.
I'm still figuring out how long I'm going to stay. I have yet to figure this scene out as all the contradictions and mysteries expressed above still cloud any absolute judgment. It's clear there are very fuckable hotties around- but I only see them on the arms of guys- never in the bar. These guys have figured out something that I have not. Anyone have any advice?

Noted, thanks for the update, and the great report. Seems they are back up almost where they used to be before the last move lol. It was bay #1 as of late April when I arrived. I also arrived at another terminal, but was allowed to use the free shuttle to T3, it took forever though. Luckily many airlines now use T3, but terminal transfer at MIA is a b****.Next time I will probably suck it up and take a cab so I don't have to deal with the hassle of entering in on the top floor again, which took about 30 pointless minutes.

It had 5-7 people there who would get you a Grab or Uber (can't remember which) for you. No charge that I remember but I gave the person a few pisos anyways. Just tell them where you wanted to go and they would find someone for you. Once found they let you know the make, model, color, license plate number, and arrival time for pick up. But at that distance and / or time you may not find any takers. But it would only take 10 minutes to find out. Try that.

There must have been millions of them. It's an image in my mind that still brings a sense of revulsion to this day. Not sure if it was mating season, or the environmental conditions were just right, but it was disgusting. I never sat on that wall again.
Another time sitting on the ledge next to the pond adjacent to Café Havana at Greenbelt 3 one of those bugs snuck up and startled me. If I remember right I think I made light of my overreaction to it to endear a pretty girl to me. But that spot which had served me so well for so long to meet girls was never quite the same.
Final story related to those things (Palmetto bugs, even if not quite accurate, sounds so much better than 'giant cockroaches') took place at a massage parlor. Yesterday was a strange day but cleared my mind on a number of things including that it's time for me to move on.
My first attempt was with a freelancer on PinaLove late afternoon that I messaged to come over. Her profile said she was 18, small spinner-her photos looked ok but a little bit unclear. We agreed on 2000 and she said I could do anything I wanted. She was at my hotel in about an hour, but there was trouble at the desk. One can still get BBFS and CIP in the Philippines, but Angeles is short on value, variety, and overall ambience. Have I mentioned what a shithole it is? There's no gym to work out at unless your hotel or condo has one and the only thing to do during the day is go to the mall. As NapaSlapper has said- stick around as an expat and you will surely be able to procure a hot spinner LBFM, but jesus, who would want to stay in this city more than 3-4 days? Not me.
I had more fun than in Phnom Penh but ultimately can't really make it work the way I'd like here. If I didn't care about dropping 4000-4500 a night on entertainment costs I could see a way forward, but as mentioned this is a long trip. Angeles can be enjoyable, everyone should come to see for themselves, but temper your expectations.

HM. Brother I can not relate to your experience. I have been to AC many times and a couple of months ago I was there for a month and enjoyed every second of it. Bareback with a hottie every night. If you're a youngish fit guy (as I am), the world there should be your oyster. I never talked money, never negotiated, but tipped properly when the situation warranted it. Hell, I remember one night I wanted to relax for the night, I left Mega Dance and on my way back to Central Park a civvie girl I was dancing with ran me down and grabbed me and said I'm coming home with you. There are so many options it's ridiculous. My biggest stress was that after 4 weeks there were so many girls in love with me that I was worried about the drama. I have two valid points that I'd love to hear your response to:
1. If you've never been to Pattaya or similar places you might think the primary interface is the GoGo Bar when in fact there are a plethora of options that I find far superior and match my style: Gentleman's Clubs (GC's), short time bars (Soi 6, Soi Pothole), legit freelancers from Thaifriendly (not back alley A Santos trash), and even Soi Buakhao Beer bars- all of which offer an easier path mentally, financially and sexually to getting laid than going into some club, plodding through the tiresome process of auditioning through lady drinks all the while a pathetic little dance number is going on onstage. Please know that you pay a premium for all this rigamarole and as such it better be something you enjoy. It's possible that you and others embrace it as a fun part of the process- I find it a pain in the ass.
2. Korean Supremacy. If you've only been here pre-pandemic or before the return of the Korean mongers, I think its a different scene completely we are talking about. Sure, who really cares in the aggregate, but on the margins you lose some return as the scene shifts away from one demographic towards another. Mongers who have an advantage in this situation would be Korean American guys like my good buddy SinfullyKorean who has his foot in both cultures (Western and Eastern), but for me it is a net negative, competitive disadvantage. Let's not pretend otherwise.

Thailand looks incredibly fun. Believe me I have considered going. But my research shows that condoms are the norm there. I have zero interest in that. Last time a girl wanted to use one in AC I sent her home (didn't happen last trip). I will still check out Pattaya at some point but for now I'm still enjoying AC. And yes, you are correct, I enjoy the barhopping lady drink experience. Flirting and copping a feel and getting a sense of the girl beforehand has almost always resulted in good choices. I think of myself as an average guy and I had a great week in AC.
Pros: Walking street is open now from 10 am to 4 am. You can find a girl almost anytime of day. 70% of the bars on Walking Street are open and several have been renovated. 1000+ girls and maybe 200 guys. A lot of the time, you might have an entire bar and all the girls to yourself. So for all the guys complaining about having to go early to beat the Asian guys, not an issue right now. 2500 bar fines for ST or 3500 for LT are still available. Cons: Not as lively as before. Being the only guy in a bar with all the girls, Mamas, and waitresses staring at you can be intimidating / annoying. Less food options and the restaurants that are open don't have all items available. No more Southern Cross or Flythebus.

Pros: Walking street is open now from 10 am to 4 am. You can find a girl almost anytime of day. 70% of the bars on Walking Street are open and several have been renovated. 1000+ girls and maybe 200 guys. A lot of the time, you might have an entire bar and all the girls to yourself. So for all the guys complaining about having to go early to beat the Asian guys, not an issue right now. 2500 bar fines for ST or 3500 for LT are still available. Recently completed my first trip to AC, and want to thank the seniors for great advice. I can't offer any new observations, except to confirm what others have said here. Please provide an update on the rooms when you stay there as a lot of them were undergoing some kind of renovation, the beds in this place are SO hard. The hot tub in the suite has no hot water, they may have fixed this. I complained to the management maybe a little to much when I was there, which I might regret a little as the negative feedback may have been a reason why they decided to sell. I do have many fond memories of this hotel and you can't beat its location. Gran central and now Amsterdam maybe being sold they are both places I really enjoyed.

The max speed the bus ever went was 65 kph even when it could have gone faster on NLEX. I guess orders came down to go slower due to higher fuel prices is the only thing I can think of. I am used to the buses going like a bat out of hell on NLEX!
Private car would have gotten me there in 2 hours via the new skyway but 3 k more. The bus seat is more comfortable.
Checked in to hotel and had dinner. I was inside one of my fav warm and wet by 9:30.

They always used the meter and at all times were cheaper than trikes. Most trips did not add up to 100 pesos and just paid 100 pesos.
Taxis around the world are more expensive than Grab, Lyft or Uber. Taxis have to pay for a license and other taxes plus expensive insurance. These ride companies skirt around these costs is why they are in business and lower ride costs.
Yesterday, Saturday I was at SM Clark Mall looking for transport to ABC Hotel. The trikes charge 150. I waited for a Blue Taxi drop off and a few minutes later one arrived. I got in and told him ABC po. He replied 100 pesos sir? I said that was ok. By meter it would have been 60 pesos. I guess some would say I got ripped off. Normally I would have paid 100 anyway.
I don't consider it a rip off. It was during peak hours on Saturday.
6:30 pm, Saturday night I went shopping at Fields. Didn't see any police at the entrance but saw a couple of face mask vendors. Most people had masks on walking along Fields.
A waitress I know told me to come to her bar early at 6:30 for good selections. She recommended a bg for me to barfine. It was a little early and I wanted to visit a few other bars. 123 bar was back opened. Nice small bar with a good line up. It wasn't very busy at all compared to the other bars. I guess people were staying away from 123.

Last weeks barhop, well below average 30 somethings who had eaten too many burgers and fries over the last few years were happily quoting 4 k short time.

Did a 6 day trip last month. Stayed at central park, great location as you all know.
