In addition to what Sharka has explained, Devils 1 might be trying to figure out geographic locations. It is a bit confusing because the two different names refer to the same street.
Fields is the name of the road (strip) immediately west of MacArthur Hwy. Once the road is adjacent to "front gate", the road headed west is then called Perimeter. I imagine that this is because this is where the Perimeter fence begins.
If you haven't already found Wayne's AC map, you should search for that.
I once ran into a newbie who was trying to walk from the Mabalacat bus terminal (in Dau)down MacArthur Hwy to downtown, AC. Wrong. The Fields bar area is on the northern edge of Angeles city just south of the old base as well as the town of Dau. He had already passed the Field's interestion. I was down in the Diamond area and he was damn lucky I was there to give him directions.

In simple terms:
Differences between the 2 locations:
1) Barfines and drinks are generally cheaper at Perimeter
2)Much more selection of ladies at Fields (most of the mega-bars are located in Fields, bars at Perimeter tend to be much smaller.
3) Fields will be open most of the nite while Perimeter Rd bars closes early (some by 9pm and others between 9-10:30pm)
You'll know the differences once you been here a day or so and scope out both locations.

you just need to monger around man. in ac there will be hot chicks rep001tered. there's no one bar that is filled with hot chicks. you'll see some very average, some downright ugly and some really hot. but, if it's your first time, i would check out the big bars first (club atlantis, crystal palace for example) mainly because of the shows. good to just look first.
i haven't been to boracay myself. it's located south of manila. you can take cebu pacific air domestic from manila to boracay or, if you're in angeles city, you can take cebu pacific air domestic from clark airport (diosdado macapagal international airport) to boracay also.
you're pretty much going to land in manila airport (ninoy aquino international airport) first, go through customs etc. you can stay in manila first, check out the scene here. then, take a taxi or bus to angeles city which will be a 2-4 hour ride one way depending if you're going by taxi or bus. angeles city is a good 50 miles north of manila city. or, you can stay in manila for a few nights then head to boracay on cebu pacific air. then, take cebu pacific air domestic and head to clark airport in angeles city.

Any of the local foreigners having problems walking down the street lately with their maganda girlfriends/wives.2 months ago my buddy and I got in a big scene where I had a sign waving in my face before the police broke it up. And tonight we left the anglewitch/skytrax area, I took a trike because pilay and my buddy, hiswife and a hottie never showed because they got in a fight on the way to voodoo, and had to go to the police station. Remember that it is typhoon season (called Habagat) in Boracay between July and November. It can rain for 2-3 days (straight) during that time. Please check the weather patterns before going there. I would hate to have you waste days of your precious vacation due to storms.

Anyway, Bora has few 'working girls' and most of the hook-ups are plain bar hookups. Not that the place is dry as sahara, but check on http://www.cocomangas.com/. That is about the only decent girl joint I saw, but then again. There are also regular girls looking for some fun. A girl hinted to me that she is all mine for a dozen shooters. While it was tempting, the haunting thought of having to carry her didn't sound enticing.
If you are heading to Bora for diving, some para sailing adventure etc. Go for it.
The best advice is. Go to Angeles, hook up a cutie who wants to take a few days off, and take her to Philippine Travel Service Counter in ABC hotel, get tickets to Manila/Boracay (or Clark Boracay. If Sea Air still flies that route.) and have fun.

However, on the return, due to high winds and torrential rain, the aircraft did not leave Manila so I ended up with a 9 hour bus ride to Manila (2 of which was basically stuck in and around Cubao). Having a cutie with you on that bus does help :) lots of secretive touching and holding :)
But Seair were excellent in customer service. I visited its office close to the Dusit the next day in and in less than 2 weeks had received a refund and an apology letter.
So if using Seair watch the weather patterns, being stuck in Boracay etc maybe fun for a while but many of us have jobs to do back home and sometimes cant explain the delay ;)

While they are propellor driven, they are turbo props, and the larger 31 seaters are German Dornier which are well maintained, and the smaller Czech Let's too are well maintained.
As for toilet. Since their longest sector is just 1 hour max, they don't need toilets per se.
But Seair were excellent in customer service. I visited its office close to the Dusit the next day in and in less than 2 weeks had received a refund and an apology letter.
So if using Seair watch the weather patterns, being stuck in Boracay etc maybe fun for a while but many of us have jobs to do back home and sometimes can't explain the delay.Seair. Is owned partly by a German, and their staff are one of the most friendly around there.
As for the 'many of us have jobs to do. ' thing. That is what never gets into most filipinos head. If they get held up, they conveniently tell us to delay the return and enjoy the vacation a bit more Doesn't work for me though.
Anyway, flying domestic sectors is fun sometimes, as I was stuck in an island, and Seaair flights were delayed due to storm warning. This island is smack with about 1 hour for diversion.
Though the flight arrived half a day late, Seaair staff in Manila Domestic insisted they drop me at my hotel.
Nice bunch to fly with.

My wife and I flew to Boracay on Seair and had a good flight on the then modern German turbo prop. The flight back on that "Let" or what ever it is, was almost the proverbial last flight. Turbulents, lightning, vomiting crying passengers and not a fucking word frm the 2 dip shits flying that wreck and I would be lying if I thought I would live another day.
I will not fly with them again and I recall that recently they had a mishap at manila airport. I would probably go PAL or Cebu Pac on a larger aircraft, taking the longer way to boracay.
Anyone else had problems getting a cancelation refund from these clowns? I have waited 6 months with a dozen phone calls and emails to their hotel management without any luck.
I was told by several staffers that there are numerous complaints regarding refunds. Thats nice to know!

With Lewis Grand hotel, I guess when you book through these guys you also have to pay upfront? With Pacific Breeze, I booked the hotel rooms but, I had a choice on paying on arrival at the hotel or when I'm checking out. This worked out good because one of our friends decided to stay back in Cebu and did not come with us to Angeles City. I was able to cancel 1 of the 3 rooms I booked.

Thanks for your input. I stayed there before and I really liked the hotel, but since before Christmas I noticed that things had changed. I dont know if it has anything to do with the new GM who use to be a bar manager on Fields? Not my choice for a hotel thats aiming for a more affluent traveller. I wrote him 3 times..no response , emailed the marketing dept 2x and the reservation dept 3xcalled the hotel 6 times looking to speak to someone but they would not put the call thru. Something is going on there and I think the owner should get his head out of his ass.

I would probably go PAL or Cebu Pac on a larger aircraft, taking the longer way to boracay.In defence of Sea Air, when shit hits the roof, in turbulent flight conditions, pilots are taught to Aviate, Navigate, and then Communicate - so other than the required seat-belts on thing - nothing much would have been possible, if they had been flying in such terrible weather as you describe .. I think you exaggerate, give me the dates and I can confirm whether it was storm conditions or a light breeze that land lubbers couldn't take in stride.
As for the mishap - Nope - Seaair never had any fatal accident, and the Manila mishap was a aquaplaning incident, as the plane was directed to an un-grooved runway, and the plane skidded off ..
Seaair is professionally managed, and the Let's (the baby dorniers) are also FAA certified, and are widely in use in Europe, and you couldn't get a tougher plane to fly you out of Caticlan, especially in bad weather conditions ..
And if you think Cebu Pac and PAL are safer to Caticlan, you are mistaken - both fly planes which are larger than the landing distance there, and virtually both are on the edge of their limits - and the idea of flying in an ATR 72 to a 800 meter runway in not my idea of fun ..

Personally, I think Boracay is over rated, chicks wise it sucks. You can get some local talent at cocomangas shooters bar, last time I was in there was about 4 yrs ago with Mrs Spamhog and everytime she went to the Cr I had some dolly rushing up wanting to take her place. they also have "native" themed huts or rooms if you stay there you could waltz one of them back for a quickie or whatever or make it your HQ.
The few times I've been to Boracay I've always brought my own, that should be your strategy, you will have to find one you can tolerate for two or three days which is about all Boracay is good for. Something else you might consider is tourist foreigners, I've seen LOTS of european girls, and scads of Koreans and Japanese, they love to dance, you might thin one out of the herd.
One strategy might be to find the most kinky perverted, Bi-filipina you can in Angeles/Manila (shouldn't be too hard) who is into 3 somes, drag her along to Boracay and see if you can bag some drunk, horny Ozzie or Kiwi Sheila.

I think the rooms at Lewis Grand are much better. I think pre-booking with Pacific Breeze is good. But, when you land, call up Lewis Grand and check up on the weekly specials. You will find that Lewis Grand is a better buy when getting the specials and have bigger rooms. Also, if you stay longer than a week you get a discount. Pacific Breeze is one month for longevity discount. One more thing, Pacific Breeze has a rodent problem. But, don't get me wrong, Pac Breeze has a nice product. I like the proximity to fields (like right there!). I like the quality and spaciousness of Lewis Grand's rooms. Check out Affinity Condos. They have a nice product and a great pricing point for us. Ask about discounts. I think a lot of us forget to ask about this. The hotels are begging for our business. We have to take advantage of this!

fully agreed! Boracay is first and foremost a place for beach vacations. Certainly you will find there girls too, but for our hobby MNL or AC would be undoubtedly the much better choice! IMHO of course!

That always seems to enter the convo when you talking to the filipina girls,and they are quite shocked when you say you have not been there before. I guess I am a beach fanatic and I have travelled around the world looking for the perfect beach. What I have found is that usually a great beach destination and a great girl destination are two mutually exclusive entities. For example Pattaya is great for girls, but the beach sucks. AC is great for girls and they don’t even have a beach. Bangkok, Macau, and Sao Paulo again are great for girls and they don’t have beaches.
It’s like a law of nature. If your priority is for the girls, then the beach scene will have to take a backseat, and if beaches are your priority, then the girls have to take a backseat or a leave of absence. Yet there are a few places where you can have your cake and eat it too. I recommend Rio, Phuket, and Koh Samui. Rio is the only place I can think of that is in the top five for girls and also has a pretty damn good beach. On the other hand, Phuket and Koh Samui have real nice beaches with an acceptable night life although not even close to the action in Pattaya. Boracay has a good beach, but it cannot hold a candle to these two Thai islands in respect to the night life IMHO. Sabang might be a better Philippine alternative if you want to have both girls and surf.

What I have found is that usually a great beach destination and a great girl destination are two mutually exclusive entities. For example Pattaya is great for girls, but the beach sucks. AC is great for girls and they don’t even have a beach. Bangkok, Macau, and Sao Paulo again are great for girls and they don’t have beaches.
It's not fair to really add Brazil in the mix because some Portuguese language is necessary. If no Portuguese language is known, its almost not worth going.

Yes, the tip is up to the customer. But you probably must have mis-read the tip amount, or you have extremely generous friends.
The numerous postings about tipping in Angeles is correct. It should be between 100 to 500 pesos. I asked a few girls, and they said the largest tip they have gotten was 500 pesos.
Note that this only applies to Angeles. Tipping (actually it is not a tip since the payment is required after the deed) is required in Makati, EDSA and Sabang.
As of this week, IMHO the cutest girls in Angeles (mostly 7s, maybe couple of 8s; there are no 9s and 10s in Angeles) are in Atlantis and Forbidden City. Nero went downhill from a few years ago. The biggest change in AC recently is the expansion of the multi-teared barfine schedule. Golden Nile has three tears I think, 2 thousand, 3 thousand, and 4 thousand (or they might have just raised the 3 thousand tier to 4 thousand, I am not sure). The problem is that becuase this has become so widespread, all of the cutest girls have now gravitated to the higher tiers. So much so, that all of my favorite bars that still only charge 1, 500 now have only hags left. Too see this firsthand, just go into Love and Music. Lots of hotties, but nothing less than 3,000. Unfortunately, if you have a thing for cute girls, finding one for 1, 500 pesos is almost impossible.
What nationalities do yo see grossly over tipping? Selective how?I have seen guys and heard of guys giving big tips and even give a girl 1000 pesos bill while she is dancing.
When I first came here I gave tips of 500 or more? Depending on the girl.
Now I give just trike money. Or max of 300 pesos
If they want more too bad.
But if I see a girl over a period of time I do help her out in other ways. Like dentist doctor and extra money depending on how honest I think she is.

Not impossible but not as many as in the past, also must be aware that many of the cute ones still in the 1200-1500p range are scammers. I came across a few during my last trip. You ask the proper questions and get the proper answers they want you to hear before BF them and They promise you LT. Then after taking them back to hotel for 1st bonk comes the excuses: doctors/clinic appointments, boyfriends, families don't know what they are bargirls and must be home by certain time, babies need their mommy etc etc etc.--in other words, they are Runners/or scammers.

Anyone else had problems getting a cancelation refund from these clowns? I have waited 6 months with a dozen phone calls and emails to their hotel management without any luck.
I was told by several staffers that there are numerous complaints regarding refunds. Thats nice to know!
Beware if you plan to book a room there and may have to cancel. Nice place to stay but its not professionally managed.
I will have a face to face with the owner when I pass thru next month. Possibly someone not letting the owners know whats happening.?
I was pleasantly surprised to get a nice email from the owner of the Lewis Grand and a follow up from the General Manager regarding my refund saga. They were sincere and I was impressed with both them. As I suspected they were not aware of this issue even though I had written numerous department heads and barraged the front desk with phone calls.
Another board member here may have put a word to the owner on my behalf, which I am thankful for.
Took some doing but all I wanted was some customer service.

We had a fair bit of rain over a 90- minute period on Sunday evening in Manila. Totally unconnected to the previous typhoon last week - that went off to China and did some damage there.
It was a new minor tropical depression that formed off the coast and dropped a bit of water but today (Monday) is very bright and sunny.
If you are planning a trip in the next 6 - 8 weeks just remember that this is typhoon season and PAGASA is predicting around 12 - 15 more typhoons this season . Now PAGASA don't always get it right so there could even be 25 more typhoons yet - who knows? Going on my past 13 years living here there is sure to be around 12 - 15 anyway so factor that into your planning. They usually involve very gloomy overcast days; a shitload of flooding rain in a short period, and only occasionally in Manila / AC do we also get the raging winds that characterize cyclones elsewhere

They had four different typhoons in four weeks. Or actually, one of them curled completely around and hit Luzon again after leaving the previous week. The only two places I plan to be in this coming September are Angeles and Makati, just like last time.
The typhoons are named alphabetically so you can easily count them as they pass through.
The current one is called "Caloy" (last week it was "Basyang").
The next one will be code-named D-something.
The bad one last year was called "Ondoy" so if you have been paying attention then you would know it was the 15th typhoon of the season.
The typhoons are named ...

and 2 hours cleaning blood from bed. FAIL.
AC day 1 - going wrong bar next door in accident. Forget to read sign - me stupid. Dancer lady choose Indo Phile!

Someone who pretends to have a poor grasp of English grammar almost excels at spelling at the same time. I P even consistently capitalizes and makes proper use of punctuation. I have never seen that before from a person who is seemingly unable to speak in the first person.
Someone who has the ability to speak in first person in his very first post three years ago magically loses that talent soon thereafter giving way to a quite amusing Indian caricature.
Someone with such basic language skills still manages to place the occasional witty idiom.
It's not that I don't enjoy reading this stand-up comedian stuff as it surely requires a lot of effort to consistently keep up that style but the unsuspecting reader should probably beware not to be taken for a comical ride in form that may very well extend to the content as well.

I have heard that most of the recent problems is due to being involved in things like involving people and their money?
Not sure what is true. But you can be as safe here as in any country.
But you got to be careful of what you do and who you do it with.

Just had three days in KL with my 21 year old student lady from Jakarta. Absolute total heaven. Indonesia now almost but not quite outranks Philippines as a place where life is truly good!
Maybe? I've recently went to both places right after the other and for me it was no comparison. Even as standards of living is comparable in both places, the Gals in Indo cost much more $. Hotels were slightly more in Indo. Food was about the same. But the biggest factor to me was the language. No problems in PI but hassles in Indo once you leave the main tour areas.--IMO

I agree with MauiDude. I have always felt relatively safe in the Philippines even compared to Vancouver which is pretty safe, but I also recognize that if shit happens you are on your own. NO one is likely to help you unless you are travelling with friends.
THis is a third world country and there are lots of hungry people who will not think twice of taking a run at you. Would not want to count how many filipinos I have come across with edged weapons or firearms.
Be observant and aware of your surroundings at all times. Dont get falling down drunk unless your in the safety of your hotel or other place. Take a trike at night.
Trust no one...this is not the type of place for

Police hunt killer of foreigners in Philippines
Police in the Philippines were hunting a man on Monday suspected of murdering three foreigners in separate attacks inside gated communities this month, authorities said.
The victims -- an American, a Canadian and a Briton -- were among nine people believed to have been killed by 28-year-old Mark Dizon in the northern city of Angeles, according to police.
"We are conducting a massive manhunt for his arrest," Angeles police chief Danilo Bautista told AFP.
Dizon, a computer technician and reflexologist, is suspected of killing American Albert Mitchell, 70, his 53-year-old Filipina wife, Janet, and their three domestic helpers inside their Angeles home last week, Bautista said.
He is believed to have murdered Briton James Porter, 51, and his 22-year-old Filipina girlfriend in their home a few days earlier, according to Bautista.
Dizon is also suspected of murdering Canadian Geoffrey Bennun, 60, and his 20-year-old Filipina girlfriend in similar circumstances on July 12.
All the men were retirees and lived in separate gated communities that are popular with foreigners in Angeles, according to Bautista.
Dizon would befriend his victims and gain their trust before entering their communities on the premise that he was going to repair their computers, Angeles mayor Edgardo Pamintuan told reporters at the weekend.
He is then alleged to have killed his victims with a 9mm pistol and stolen electronic gadgets from their homes, which he then pawned.
A local pawn-shop owner, who saw pictures of the suspect on television, handed over to police a laptop, cameras, lenses and mobile phones all recently pawned by Dizon.
Angeles is well-known for its red-light nightlife, which began when the city serviced a US airbase. The base closed in 1991 but the city retains a large population of foreign residents.

I have a colleague in Manila who I'll catch-up with socially, and I've warned him out that I'll prob fly into Clark on Tiger or Air Asia, and I'm sure he'd enjoy the excuse to get up there as well.
I'll actually be arriving in Manila on a Sat around 7pm, and departing Manila again on Mon around 11am. The main hassle is getting to/from AC on arrival at manila.
Having read a number of posts/sites, it seems the most direct way to get to AC is by car, probably from the hotel, for around about PHP2500 +/- . I'd probably have to do the same for the return. I reckon that this means my arrival time in AC would be around 10:30pm (1 hr for arrival processing and 2.5 hrs Manila to AC.) Similarly for the return.....
So, it seems that getting to/from AC will cost PHP 5,000 and around 3.5-4 hours on Sat night.
Is it worth the hassle? I could simply grab a hotel near EDSA and see what is happening ... but that has been done before, albeit quite some time ago.

You can take a bus from Swagman hotel which is next to Bayview hotel.
It is 600 pesos for one person. If you are three or more people sharing a car is good.

There are pros to a personal driver though such as a vehicle to yourself with A/C and a direct drive straight to your hotel near Field's Avenue; This is where the action resides. I would recommend staying at a hotel near Field's Avenue. The swag hotel in Angeles is no walking distance to the action nightlife. The closer you are to Field's Avenue the more convenient IMHO.

You can take the Bus going to AC at 8.30 PM. At that time of the night the taxi from airport to swagman hotel should take approx 20-25 minutes. Cost will be approx 200 pesos.
On the way back it is better to come the previous day and stay in Manila for one night. Yes, You can make the flight if you take a taxi early in the morning from AC but as for me I hate to get up early after a night of boozing and womanizing.

If you fail, you have many options to get a direct cab/ride to ac while swagman staff will assist you regarding price, etc. Maybe you find another monger who is going zo arrive with you and you can share a ride to AC..happened to me one time.

The International on Blow Road is a nice bar, nice food, usually have some sort of sports on the big screen, casino in back, and no dancers. The waitresses are fun to look at, but not sure if they are BFable. Nice place to relax and have a drink or bite to eat though!
Kind of a strange question, but are there any bars without dancers that have good music and cheap drinks where I can go to relax for a couple hours in the afternoons? Something around Perimeter/Fields would be great.
I guess I asking for something more like a beer bar in Thailand, somewhere I can go and chill and get my drink on.

Thanks guys. I should have said I checked the 'fly the bus' schedule and it didn't look like this would work, especially for the return.
Manila to AC. Flight arrives 7.00pm Sat Night, Bus departs Swagman Hotel 8.30pm. Too tight?
AC to Manila. Flight departs 11.00am, so the 8:00am departure from AC is too late to make the 2 hrs check-in.
I'd figured that an AC hotel pick/drop would be the best. I much prefer the 'certain nature' of mongering in AC, although I guess EDSA or other spots in Manila would be OK.
Anyway, once I determine what I'm doing, I'll post in travel thread...

Personally to me, you could possibly make the bus if everything goes right meaning no delays on landing, no long lines at immigration, but I think it'll be close. It may not be worth the hassle of trying to save money and get there to see you missed the bus. You can save the time by getting picked up at the airport instead and getting to AC faster. It's definitely more expensive and if you are going to bother to go there for that one night you should stay second night and then get another private car to airport to get your flight. It's a tough and probably tiring schedule but you'll most likely have fun. The 5000 pesos can also be saved by just doing Manila/Makati instead at a slower pace but the costs add up there especially if LA Cafe isn't going and you do EDSA or Burgos.
Thanks - some serious travel being contemplated. It'll be a long day as I'm leaving Bangkok on Sat noon and travelling to Manila via HongKong. Likewise for the return on Monday - I'll be departing Manila at 1100 landing back in Bangkok around 1630 local, and getting to Pattaya for last 2 nights before going home.
In terms of cost, I'd concluded that what I lose on car trip to/from AC I'd make up on cheaper hotel/drinking/mongering costs. Time is the only thing you can't get back ... hence the initial query. Reading the forum left me with the view that activities run later in AC and that might compensate for the lost transit. Whether I can cope is another question....

ANGELES CITY, Philippines – A computer technician tagged in a series of robbery-killings in this city was finally arrested in San Fernando, La Union yesterday afternoon.
The suspect, Mark Dizon, 28, yielded a caliber .38 revolver with eight bullets, a laptop, and a cellular phone when an Angeles City police team headed by Superintendent Elvis Diaz nabbed him in front of the San Fernando plaza, said Chief Superintendent Arturo Cacdac Jr., Central Luzon police director.
Expatriates here had offered a P100,000 reward for Dizon’s arrest.
Dizon, who also worked as a reflexologist, was nabbed five days after the killing of retired US Air Force M/Sgt. Albert Mitchell, 70, his wife Janet, 53, and their house helpers Isabel Fajardo, Marissa Prado, and Yulberto Catli in their home at Hensonville Court Subdivision in Barangay Malabanias here.
Dizon was implicated in the killing and that of seven other people, mostly expatriates, in separate incidents in this city.
Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan said Dizon is also the suspect in the killing of South African national Geoffrey Allan Bennun, 60, and his live-in partner, Abegail Helina, 20, whose decomposing bodies were found in their house at Oasis Hotel and Villas in Clarkville Compound in Barangay Anunas here last July 12.
Dizon was also tagged in the July 16 killing of Briton James Bolton Porter, 51, and his live-in partner, Melissa Madarang, 22, in their house at Sta. Maria Subdivision in Barangay Balibago here.
In all cases, Bautista said the victims’ laptops were stolen and a 9-mm pistol was the murder weapon, based on slugs found in the crime scenes.

I think the Oasis Compound is made up of separate housing and also the Hotel. I stayed in the Oasis Hotel in the mid 90's.

For the OP looking for drinks without girls, Kokomoz and Margaritaville (that's right Jimmy B's lawyers, that's what we still call it!) are the standard hangouts. Poolside at either of the Orchid hotels is pretty pleasant on a nice day.

But it is not in Fields, though Clarkton does have a shuttle service.
If you are on the relaxing mood - go for CLarkton. If you are in the mood to but more notches on your belt - stay at or near Fields.

I think the clarkton is a nice hotel and they have old and newly renovated rooms. They also have a big breakfast buffet for those who are missing home.
I havent stayed there yet, because I am only on weekends in AC, so I like to have a place with walking distance to the action.
However I think Clarkton has a shuttle service to fields and if you step out you can hail down any jeepney which drops you just infront of Margaritha station/jeepney terminal.
However, sometimes its faster to walk then to ride, so I prefer a hotel nearby lower fields ave.
If your a perimeter fan then its ok to stay at clarkton. Clarkton has also his own bar inside the hotel and I think their cook is quite good (expat).
Clarkton is run by a German guy. If that doesnt scare you off then you welcome to stay over there.
BTW I am also German.

I agree with whats been said. I never even made it to Perimeter. I stayed for 2 weeks and went to 2-3 different bars every night on Fields. It was nice not having to worry about a jeepney ride back to my hotel. Clarkton has maybe 7-10 bars nearby, Fields too many to count, including what became my favorite "Forbidden City"
Anyway, like I said I haven't been to Clarkton, so I can't offer any insights, but I do know my time on Fields at PB was heaven!

Thanks for the input. I tried Genesis last night. Not sure why was just walking by and decided I was thirsty and needed to get the ball rolling. There was a lot of girls. I think this is because they are attached to the place next door and rotate them between the two (I think). But between hostesses and bikini girls there had to be at least 50 girls to choose from possibly more. Met a charming girl and bought here few lady drinks. I've been to Agaysa many times (one of my favorite girls work there). There's different levels of barfines. I've seen girls go out with western guys. Do the girls reject guys there?

1) Never buy anything off the street. Never. It's never real, and after that "they" will never, never, ever leave you alone after that.
2) Don't buy from a so-called friend of a friend. You just put yourself in a position to look gullible or mark yourself as someone who is willing to get ripped off. "You want Cialis? Cool, I also got a stake in a bar I want to sell to you"
3) Go to a clinic. Pay the 800 pesos and see a doctor. While they are taking your BP, tell her that you are a wreck and high BP runs in your family.
4) Tell the doctor that you are on anti-depressants (Prozac), and BP medicine (Metoprolol and Lisinopril). Tell her since you started taking these meds you can't sustain an erection like you used to...or you have decreased libido. Tell her you want to take some medicine home.
5) Get a script for Vitamin V 100mg. Get at least 40 from her if you can.
6) GO TO A REAL PHARMACY. Generic is about 300 pesos a piece. Depends where you go. Manson Pharmacy is the most expensive. Try some other places. In the Western world, the V is over 1000 pesos a piece and it is bloody hell to get an MD to write an Rx for you.
7) Walk into your favorite bar with confidence. Even if you dont have ED, the power of your erection is an ego-booster. Stronger than when you were 18 years young.

Like you I am impatient. I don't bar hop a lot because I just can't drink that much. My visit to a bar is generally 1 min to 60 min tops.
Here is my big secret. Never think of them as a ***** or bargirl, approach it like you were chatting up some nice girl at her bar.
At Agasya, I find that sometimes having a good waitress or mamasan on your side (you have to spring for an LD for them) helps. If I don't buy them an LD I make sure I tip them well (up to 100p, this makes them happy and its still cheaper than LD). They can often advise, eg. this girl will not LT etc...Then you don't waste an LD on the girl that you can't take home. Also when talking to the mamasan, sometimes she can make a plea to the girl you want on your behalf.
Stay at a nice place like LGH. It may be a few hundred P more than some apartelle, but it will get you the girls. When I am in LD with them, they always ask where I am staying. Invite them for a swim. Order some food and drink at the pool, its only a few bucks in real world money, but the girls really appreciate it. I suspect if I was staying in a hole, I would get some girls turning me down too.
I'll be lucky to make AC twice a year (and don't always visit Agasya), and they seem to remember me. And I am no big tipper like most Asians, etc... In fact a previous Agasya BF (I later found out from a waitress) was upset at me because I did not tip her much for staying so long with me. I explained to her that although she stayed long, she slept all day and I did not get Round 2 in the morning. If not, I thank them for their time, then move on.

Never tried the V, the C although fake, worked just as well as the real stuff. So the active ingredient is present.
Try one first before buying a lot. If it works well, go back to the same guy.

I asked her what they were talking about and with some reluctance and a bit of prodding she finally told me. I have no reason not to believe her and was a little shocked she actually told me. The irony is that she later only stayed for ST. I did not negotiate for LT, my mistake, but maybe she was setting up her escape for later. Who knows. Went to a bar called Alaska. Was going to the 7/11 for some provisions and the girls tried to pull me in the bar. Told them I would come back. True to my word I did which I think amazed them. Having visited AC about 10 times in the past 2 1/2 years I feel I have a fairly well rounded overview of the place.
Hotels. One of the best hotel near or on Fields IMHO is the Pacific Breeze. I have tried several in an around Fields and at around $50US a night represents great value with ok food, a nice pool and great staff. Stay in the main wing.
Food. Food at the Breeze is passable but good western style food is available at The International Bar right next door at the Cnr of A Santos and Vian. Also there is big screen TV's with most western sports running non-stop. It is open 24 hrs with pool tables and a poker game if you so desire.
Best Bars. Well that is very subjective and can vary one hour to another and according to the taste and needs of the monger. I have always avoided the big 4 Atlantis, Dollhouse and the two behind them as they have inflated opinions as to what their girls and ladies drinks are worth. I have always found Alaska and Lancalot to be a great watering holes with many a great girl.
Perimiter Road is my personal preference with Illusions, Garfields and Gentlemans Club ranking high because of the laid back setting and friendly staff. The Clarkton offers a safe and hospitable base with good food and a great pool.
For the sleezy - A visit to the BJ bars in A Santos i.e. Gobbles for a 700P cleaning of the pipes at 6am is a good sleeping pill. Amazing skill set held by most ladies. Similar service at the bar in Matrix braun on Perimiter. A hive of 3 holers at Niffy's and a short time hotel across the road from the bar for 300P.
In daytime use the Jeepneys at 8P a trip. Watch your pockets, dont flash too much cash or jewellery and leave freelancers alone and you will have a hassle-free stay. Money changers in fields opposite Nero's give fair exchange rates, much better than at hotels etc.
AC - A mans paradise. Dont forget to leave plenty of DNA behind :-)

I dont like the atmosphere over there, the silly dancing, the music, etc, but I do sometimes like the girls..However if I going to barfine a girl she has to be pretty, otherwise i could also be with my pretty GF from AC. I was a good friend of the manager there who worked there a long time till she got pregnant. I do not know if she is back. Yes. ... i find that sometimes having a good waitress or mamasan on your side (you have to spring for an ld for them) helps. if i don't buy them an ld i make sure i tip them well (up to 100p, this makes them happy and its still cheaper than ld). they can often advise, eg. this girl will not lt etc...then you don't waste an ld on the girl that you can't take home...

I've never accepted that the big spenders "spoil the market" or raise prices. Not sure, but I think the person quoted below was making the same point.
I do get midly irritated when a guy or two buys drinks for five / eight / or even ten gals because that spoils the moment for ME in THAT BAR at THAT MOMENT.
I think there is really a very complex dynamic involved in tipping / drinks / prices. I could probably make some points from a sociopsychological point, but I think it is best to quote one of my more articulate barfines.
"When I'm drunk, I don't care, but if he's really ugly, I don't want to wake up next to him. Yuck." (this was her reason for doing a runner).

Greetings fellow ISG members. My first and only visit to AC was in 2006 for 2 weeks and now I am finally planning my return. Back then things seemed very simple to understand after reading this board, as the old Orchid and Central Park were considered great places to stay for price and location, barfines were 1200 for the most part, and tipping ranged from 200 to 500 for LT depending on peformance. I only had one runner in those 2 weeks and the women in almost every bar I visited made me feel like the center of attention. What I liked the most about AC was that nearly every woman I met gave me great GFE and treated me like their boyfriend. They would do anything to keep me happy during sex.
Today I decided to read some recent reports for the first time in years and I took the following:
1- All showcase giant bars on Fields have more inflated prices for drinks and BF than the smaller bars.
2- Staying in a more expensive hotel means we are more likely to get better response from the ladies, regardless of our looks or friendly behavior.
3- Most people are tipping over 500 after LT.
5- Buying LD is mandatory if you want to talk to someone. LD prices will vary for different beverages instead of a fixed price for all.
6- Quality is very low in small bars compared to the big bars.
7- There is nothing you can say that will stop ladies from running after first pop. Offering higher tip is the only form of strategy.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but do I have a realistic view of how things are right now? Is GFE and sweet attitudes still easy to find on Fields av?

Good places are all gone, have to agree with Amjeck. The internet took the work out of finding these places. Everyone from the famous and rich to the everyday regular has been to the places all over the world and with the influence of American government rules and money this will all change fast. Not to start a tread but just the way it is. Sad to see it go.

Jesus man. P100 is fine, for tryke only. The girls typically work for me one pop each evening and morning, they rarely ask or expect a tip. I give them tryke money anyway. They are glad to work LT for half the p1500 barfine.
A trick to prevent the runner. While in the bar, tell her the time in the morning you expect her to stay until (8am? I use 10am). Then, after she's changed clothes, chat with the mama with the girl present, tell the mamasan everything the girl agreed to do, including the time. You might be surprised to hear this, but if she runs, the next night the mama will make her do the remaining time with you whether she likes it or not (Geckos, Body Shop). They will not, however, return any of your money. The bars are very particular about the girl completing whatever she said she would do.
If its early, say 8pm, some girls will not agree to stay until the morning. They are just being honest, they are looking for ST. But if she says 8am, and you repeat that to mama, they don't run. If you don't clarify it in advance, she's under no obligation to the bar to stay with you for more than one pop. BTW, she is under obligation to the bar to have at least a pop, even if not negotiated. First thing the mama or manager will ask on a customer complaint is if you had naughty.
Once again, OMG, you don't need to tip the girls. This is not Burgos in Manila, where the girls will work out the tip before leaving the bar. P1000? 2000? Jeez, driving up prices. Performance is usually good anyway.

There has been a lot of talk RECENTLY about AC turning into a ST place, girls getting tipped very very well, and girls becoming selective. What is the reason for this recent change? Only recently have people been complaining about the girls attitudes.

Getting a room in one of the fancier hotels does NOT mean you will get laid any better than in any other room. If the girl is going to give you a good fuck. The room has little to do with it.
And most people are NOT tipping over 500 pesos for LT. Thats 50% tip or better. It won't get you laid any more or less.
Personally I never tip over 350. Usually 300 and trike fare. And no one has ever complained and I get repeats all the time.

1- Yes, sort of. Dollhouse bars actually stayed at 85 peso locals after most other bars went to 95. But they had high prices for everything else. Overall I'd call this a true statement, with the occasional outlier.
2- I've never experienced this. I've had runners from PB and had to kick girls out of 950 Condotel. I suppose they're more likely to want to stay in ABC than in the Wobbly Pension House next door, but even the average AC hotels are better than the average stay-in.
5- LD is pretty much mandatory if you want them to SIT with you. But I go to small bars a lot and sit right at the stage, and will flirt with the girls onstage until I find a fun one. Then I offer the LD for her to come talk further.
6- Quality of what? Appearance? I suppose it's easier to have a dozen girls that rate 8 or higher when you have 100 dancers instead of 15. But even so, that doesn't guarantee a better time. Besides, "small bar" is too wide of a blanket term. I don't know about now, but on my last trip, small bar La Bamba had an excellent lineup. Small bar Club 68, not so much. Small bars are a blast. I only barfine out of big bars if I already know the girls.
7- Some of the girls will flat-out lie to you about their intentions. If a girl wants to leave, I just let her leave. Tell her you don't tip for ST because you can get ST on Santos. I'd rather barfine her friend from the same bar the next night and give the friend a big tip if she stays LT.
Just my 1 peso worth.
I've never accepted that the big spenders "spoil the market" or raise prices. Not sure, but I think the person quoted below was making the same point.
Oh yes, you bet your life that I was making exactly the same point!

went to Alaska last night and it was already late, 1am or so. No more customers around, but still loads of girls in the range of 5 to 7 on stage. And then, to my biggest surprise, I had exactly this sort of fun that you can normally find in Perimeter Bars only! Barfined a nice girl for 1300 pesos and after two rounds of excellent bedroom athletics she left at 8am with a 300 peso tip. All in all a great experience at Alaska and I will certainly go there again.

You can chat a girl for a few minutes without a drink before she gets up to go back and dance. Sitting at the stage is a MUCH better idea, the girls will come to you. Wink, smile, be happy with your drink. I think there is a common misperception that that the bars like to sell, that you need to have a seat, look over the girls, call one over to have a drink and see if she'll barfine. Ya, if you don't care much about your money and buying multiple LD. You buy a girl a drink (or 3), ask if she'll barfine, to find she's on her mens, or cherry. Worse, I see the same gent sometimes call another girl over, start buying LD, only to repeat the cycle.
A few different techniques, as Rob's, sitting at the stage. Never more than a few minutes and some girls will chat you up:
Dancing girl (body shop): "Sir, why not pick a girl for tonight? "
Me: They are too pretty. I cannot afford any here [wink]
Dancing girl: maybe you can barfine me? [notice, no LD has been purchased, and its been a short conversation]
Me: mmmm I need a special girl, who can (x), (y), (z)
Dancing girl: I can do those things sir. Also my cousin right over there if you like her more. Also my friend Alvalyn there.
In addition to this sitting at the stage thing, there is another thing that I do (but won't mention here on the board). PM me and I'll tell you. Works: everytime! To get the girls to chat you up, not vice versa.
An even better method. Chat the eldest waitress or mama, buy HER the drink. Be nice and chat her a bit, find out what province she's from, where her kids are. Then tell her exactly what you like; x, y, z (in fact, tell her you want a wild one who isn't afraid of anything). Its her job to point out girls for you that do those particular things. Smaller bars the mama knows about every girl. Larger bars she will only maybe know about certain girls, but she knows them well. "That one on the end. That one also the tall one. And the one there with the short hair also. " Wow, little need to buy a bunch of drinks now. Pick one she pointed out, buy her a drink and chat her a bit and get the hell out of there. Tell mama if the girl performs well tonight and in the morning, there is a tip for MAMA tomorrow (then do it). P100 for the girl's tryke and p1-200 for mama the next night is invaluable (mama got a LD + tip, she's your friend for life).
Part of my x, y, z is camera, and 10AM. See that? 10AM (in filipines, AC and elsewhere). Rarely girls say no to cam, but sometimes they can't/won't stay in the morning. Her saying so in the bar is how to avoid her. Girl's who know you have their pic, and worse have said in front of mama she can stay till 10, will rarely run after ST. About 1/3 of my barfines are still with me at noon, 1pm. I rarely tip more than p100 to the girl, and on return trips I have some who like to show up after work at 1am for a drink, videoke, and some fun free afterhours time in my room (waking up around noon). For the gents who think they have to tip 500, 1000, 2000, whatever, its fine, but not needed. Its something they do to be charitable. But, doing that, may be overpaying (to the girl's delight), and causes pain for the rest of us later (spoilage. The girls start getting pissy with someone who does not tip her).
Maybe a little off topic, but nevertheless: careful gentlemen, there is a team of pickpockets working at Fields and I can assure you that these three biniboys do know how to do their job! Unfortunately (for them! :)) they approached me yesterday night in front of Champagne and, define irony, just when the tourist police drove past. But before telling you about the yesterday's result it might be interesting for you to know how a professional pickpocketing works.
Again, three persons at work. The first one, 'the drawer' comes close to you, touches and hugs you while offering any service. The natural reaction from a victim would be to enlarge the distance between him and the thief. If you do so, or - even worse - run away, then your wallet is lifted automatically, provided that the pickpocket was able to get two (!) fingers into your pocket. The lifted wallet is then quickly handed over to the second guy, 'the courier' who passes by. After 10 meters the wallet goes to the third guy, 'the runner', who walks now in a different direction.
So, what happened to me yesterday? 'The drawer' approached me as described, but instead of running away I shortened the distance between him and me. That makes any lift a little more tricky (but of course not impossible). Moreover it was bad for the guy that he had hands like a digger. :) So, quite easy for me to 'block the way out of the pocket' with the forearm in order to secure my items.
However, since these guys did not pay me the adequate respect, I thought it might be an idea to teach them a slight lesson. Well, while securing my wallet I got two of my smooth, well-trained fingers into his pocket and when 'the drawer' quickly run away, because he f*cked it up, all of sudden his cellphone was lifted instead. Bad luck for him to realize this loss a little later and maybe even harder for him to accept that his last victim was indeed a much better pickpocket then he himself! :) BTW, many years ago I had indeed a little 'training' from a befriended magician.
Gentlemen, to make a long story short: be alert and watch your belongings! Especially if you are drunk these three guys are not to underestimate!

However, there are a couple of things to remember about these street-smart people.
- At least one of them will have some sort of weapon, like a knife, so it is highly risky to confront them because it can turn nasty if you corner one of them. Usually best to just skedaddle as fast as you can, and it doesn't mean you are a wimp either;
- You must assume now that they know who you are and what you look like so maybe you should get out of Dodge asap. You have a bull's eye painted on your back, and it won't matter if you are 10 foot tall and have been to the Jackie Chan karate school. Don't be misled into thinking that they will not remember you in 6 months or 12 month either.
Just a few thoughts.

Just my 2 cents on these two issues:
The hotel can certainly make a difference to whether or not a girl will go with you. When going after the top girls, they have THEIR pick of who they will sleep with. A nicer room equates to a richer customer, and since this is all about money, it obviously makes a difference. This is why one of the first questions they will ask is "where are you staying". Therefore I always stay in the best place my budget will allow.
I give a 500P tip in the morning, less if I was not happy with the performance. The only exception is if I am getting turned down by a girl (menstration or some other excuse) and I have to offer a higher a tip up front to get the girl to go with me. However, this is not common, and would estimate that I negotiate a higher tip up front with the girl about 10% of the time.
At the end of the day, we cannot make ourselves any younger or better looking, so our hotel and tip are two of the ways to convince a girl that you are their best bet for the night. Of course, the most important thing is to get the girl to like you, so above all, try not to come across as an asshole.
This was a great result for you and I am glad it it turned out very well.

Thanks for your concern and advice! However, the next days I continue with business as usual and I will update you guys if something happened. I do see indeed the kind of risk you have described, but I do not overestimate it. And for sure, you bet your life, that won't spoil my vacations in AC!
All pickpockets from AC are herewith happily invited to find out who the 'softer fingers' has! I am pretty certain that I will win this competion, because learned is learned!
