I was in AC for 3 days and the following can be said.
1. Quality is the SAME. All this talk about decline is crap. Girls move around, look few doors down and you will find the same from 5-6 mths ago. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I judge AC based on how many door bitches make me turn around in the course of the night. Normally walking fields its 2-3 that would make me turn around and take a second look then maybe walk into the bar. The Amsterdam test LOL. It was the same this time. Inside I felt less pressure to buy drinks but I barhopped with a buddy or two all the time, which wasn't the case in my previous visit.
2. I walk up in the ABC one night with the sound of kids playing in the swimming pool. I though I was dreaming. At dinner I saw this asian kid. 10. 11 in the swimming pool. I also saw a family in LGH the following night by the swimming pool. In LGH I have seen solders in the past with their Filipino families but this wasn't it in both cases. I think the place is changing and the cheep flights will slowly change AC forever.
3. Compared to year ago the place smells a lot less and there is more security around fields ave. This is good. There are also lot more high end hotel developments that are going up or have been finished which shows that the days of the budget mongering here are numbered. I don't think it will disappear completely but I do think prices will be going up quicker. Barfines of minimum 2500 peso to be expected within 12. 24 months I would say.

There were families and a bunch of young girls all dressed up. The following day the pool area was taken over by a bunch of kids. Hi! No beach in AC. In my opinion, AC is mainly for mongering. Pacific Breeze is a great choice with nice pool. Pacific Breeze to Fields Ave is a very very short walk. I have walked from Fields to Perimeter Road however I think most people prefer a Jeepney or Trike. Its a short ride. Hope this helps.

CanyonAC is a must visit place. Ideally you need to stay min 4 nights there to get into the ambience. Apart from drinking and shagging not much of anything. If you fancy a girl can take to movie at the mall. Sometimes the girl likes to play bingo there.
PB and ABC are little distance away. Although walkable distance for safety reasons better to take a trike. There are many shady characters hanging around and will not hesitate to rob you especially at late nights. This is the main reason I like to stay at royal amsterdam which is right in the heart of the action. Staying there makes it easier for me and the girl if I had a runner, decided to go eat, go to disco etc or even barfine another girl.
It could be the aunties trying to squeeze some money from you guys while the actual DIA dates were busy preparing for the marriage,unless you guys were chatting with web cam.

I lost a few hundred pesos with a money clip and a piece of paper with all my notes on good AC hotels and restaurants that I checked out and note on the girls. My wallet was in my right pocket so I was just thankful and relieved I sat in the right (as in correct) side of the jeepney. Oh well, chalk it to experience.

While its illegal to take the pic's WITHOUT consent. Once you are out of the country. They can't do anything.

My wallet was in my right pocket so I was just thankful and relieved I sat in the right (as in correct) side of the jeepney. Oh well, chalk it to experience.

When you ride a jeepney, regardless of whether you are surrounded by men or women (yes, they will pick you also). Try to keep everything in one pocket. If any sit real close to you, then what I do is simply reach into my pocket with my hand and hold on to my stack of pesos, also this will block anyone from picking it.

My friend told me about his encounter on the jeepney, too. He was going back to Fields from Perimeter. He went on a empty jeepney and all of a sudden 4 pinoys came on followed by a Japanese guy with his girl. One of the guys was staring at him and making eye contact as to tell my friend you better look the other way or else. Their target was the Japanese guy. Now I may be strange but I do try to see what the girl will do and is willing to do. And I like to know before I take her what.

In regards to Westcoast's experience, if I got my money back from them, I don't think I would have gone into that bar again on this trip. They made it good for him, in regards to the barfines, and I would have called it the day with them. I think they tried to send a message. Then he came back in and now it was on, because they tried to save face and said what they said earlier. I don't care if the boss / manager eventually agreed with him in the end. It would have been different if they didn't give the barfines back maybe but they did. You have to understand where they're coming from some and know the situation. They sounded like they tried to comply with the original requests and one realized she couldn't. Why go back when she was emotional already? I think Westcoast is lucky that they didn't try anything to return a payback.

Another thing about Westcoast's experience. That one woman was hesitant from the start and she was new. For me, I would have dropped it and moved on. I would love to have a sister thing work like that, but if she wasn't into it and I could see it, it's not worth the potential hassle for me. I know hindsight is 20/20, but really if I'm getting a bad vibe, I don't go for it as I'll kick myself for not listening to my gut and being wrong.

I too am one that doesn't report much. Some have the gift of gab and others are good listeners but here is my two cents on the latest thread.
I sometimes go through my list of 20 questions before I barfine a young lady and sometimes I don't. I have to admit I have a little more success after all the questions being happy but is is absolutely NOT a guarintee. I am a pretty good judge of character and body language but they can be pretty good liars with body language as well and verbally. Just two days ago I was at the Brass Knob interviewing one of the older girls (29). I prefer older (haha like 29 is older) ones as they usually are more comfortable with you and know how to treat a man. It is well documented that the Cebu Air online booking system has problems when booking with many overseas cards. I tried 3 various MC / Visa I had and they were all declined. That's even with me ringing the credit card company in advance warning them that I will be booking with Cebu and they instructed are to authorise. I rang my car company back asking what happened? They tell me that they did not receive any request, got denied before even reaching the "real world".

in my experience it may also be the internet connection. some connections (mostly wireless ones) have problems with some secure websites. it happens when you put in the security code from the bank at the end of the transaction. so you may go for internet another place. maybe not commen, but this happens.

Then I used my Hong Kong credit card without problems. I thought it was my US credit card companies rejecting the purchases because they were made from overseas.
I know many US credit cards companies will not authorize overseas use unless you call their customer service number and inform them that you will be traveling to certain countries and will be using their cards. Then they will accept the charges. Happened to me in Japan and some countries in Europe.

My last trip in Dec / Jan my Canadian Visa worked on Cebu Pacific but rejected by PAL while my Canadian MC worked on PAL but rejected by Cebu Pacific. Seems to be a total crap shoot.

Closest is for you to fly out of HK as it is not far from SZ anyway.

For years I have also had problems paying with a credit card on Cebu Pacific. All were issued in the USA. Failures on multiple Visa and Mastercard cards. American Express worked first time the only 2 times I used it.
I booked 5 flights with Cebu Pacific in March and did not have a problem with my USA issued Chase Visa card. This was not the case a couple of years ago.
This Visa card has Visa Verified but even that did not work two years ago. Tracking down that problem it appeared that the transaction got to the bank before the Visa verified result did so the bank rejected the transaction. This now seems to be fixed.
I did encounter another problem with the Cebu Pacific this time. I wanted to prepay excess baggage but the boxes to select excess baggage never appeared. When the same problem happened a 2nd time, I changed from the Google Chrome browser to Internet Explorer and it worked. As this only happened once, I'm not certain about this but if you encounter the same problem while using Google Chrome you might want to try Internet Explorer.

And in any case, the payment is processed by an external payment gateway, not CP (or 5J as we call them here.)

FZLOL, don't even worry about that they are use to it. You would be the first guy that comes to AC and doesn't cheat on his favs there. For me AC is always mixture of old favs and new blood and so far not one has said anything even thought the see me barhop or on the street with the fresh pickings.
As for the dollhouse dancer, does she sneak out 4 you? Does she takes days off? If she doesn't then you know the answer. If she does then hit that few more times if worth it and then reassess, I personally would want out anyway.

The main problem was as I understand from cebu Pacific is when they billed the american credit card companies they refused to pay because the credit card owners disputed the charges and sometimes the charges were reversed making Cebu Pacific loose money because whoever made reservation has already completed the journey. So the visa and mastercard have opened a new program called visa verified and mastercard secured. With these programs you need to sign up (no fee) online. You need to put your password anytime your transaction is made through the cards.
I have done this and had no problems.

They call it "fraud protection". When you get down to Manila, you will not be able to use your Chase credit cards. Call in advance tell them to remove the block before you leave stateside. They will ask for the dates you are traveling, and they will unblock it for those days.
Also, be aware that for every charge on your Chase card, there is a fee for overseas transaction. I have Chase and Capiltol One. Capitol One does not charge a fee for overseas use, so I use my Capitol One Card when traveling abroad. I am not trying to sell you guys Capitol One. It is just that, it is the only one that does not charge an overseas "interchange" fee.
The fees are about 2 to 3% of cost of transaction. Which if you are spending a lot, adds up at the end.

Most major airline also want you to bring the credit card you use for booking with you on check in to confirm that you are the person, I think your bank just trying to make sure there is not a stolen card.

Not June 1 to June 18. They will unblock your overseas travel for the entire period. That way your Cathay-Pacific and Cebu-Pac flights should go sailing thru starting tomorrow when you start booking. Hotel reservations the same. Why the extra day (June 19)? What happens if your outbound flight back to your home country is delayed (weather, mechanical problem, etc) and you are stuck in Manila or Cebu overnight? I signed up last year when they were only offering 30,000 points.

If you are overseas, and your credit card stops working, just call them. I actually got into this situation. One th card just stopped working. Second time, my wallet was stolen from the nightstand, while I was sleeping (had one too many sake's at dinner) , in a 5 star hotel.
Luckily, I used skype on my laptop to call the card companies and make the necessary arrangement.
I first started using this calling family etc. Now I have all my important numbers like credit cards, my United premier desk, hotel numbers, DIA member numbers. I'd recommend this to you guys as it works pretty well and it is cheap. Best part, nobody knows where you are calling from!

I will be in town with some friends from China.
This will be my 2nd trip to AC in as many months. Did alot of Fields the first time, want to see what else is around. Was not a big fan of the "Super Clubs" with the big stage performances.
I enjoyed Club Asia, Genesis, Blue Nile (the one with the elevator for the 2nd floor, only because the Mommys were very helpful there). Tropix was a good source for 3 girls our group kept for several days.
Any other advice on which bars are worth the time to visit on Perimeter or Santos area?

Perimeter bars: General hours 1-2 PM till 8 PM. I know, most stay open later than that, but late at night there is no point going. Hint: go early, the best girls don't get picked last.
Santos: any time of the day really. Even really late at night, as in 3 AM in the morning, there are still some girls on duty.
SkyTraxx: around 10. 10:30 PM.
Fields: most bars don't open till 6 PM. Some do but with a reduced lineup.

If you are headed to Subic, my opinion is to go alone and pick up from there. Qualitity and quantity is much smaller in Subic but I look at it another way. Also fewer "mongers" there so ratio will be better and also most of the better lookers are not BF too early there. Place is more relaxed, so the overall feel is a smaller version of Perimeter but with a beach instead of just a dusty or muddy road.

If in AC before going to subic take few phone numbers from some of your favs with you. If you can't find anything you like in subic just dial in a girl and tell her you will pay for her travel expanses. 1 hour latter you have your fav AC girl if you are not happy with the local talent.

RobbNever been in any of the perimeter bars before but walked into Candy Bar yest about 1 pm and of the 4-5 girls there instantly focused on one with 7-ish face (acceptable) but full D's. Very nice. Hostess or mamasan or whatever (mamasan not there by then I think) said 1050 php for long term, until next am.
No quiibble from me. Very friendly girl and great service. Will post pics on my evo next week when I return home.

Most large hotels offer free wi-fi for their guests. Some don't require a password. You can just walk near, get a signal and start surfing. For example, I stayed at the Blue Nile five months ago. They didn't lock their wi-fi.
Unless you need to use your own computer, you can just go to an internet cafe. There's a place near the jeepney station that only charges P50 for three hours. Many will charge P20 per half-hour or hour.
I was at Kokomoz two weeks ago. Their wi-fi often doesn't work. I wouldn't rely on it. I stayed at Royal Amsterdam during that trip. The password to their wi-fi was "AngelesCity".

Most do it cause they can. Its a vacation. They have saved for it. And they want to have a good time and the SMALL amount of money it cost. $4 a drink for 5 girls = $20. I rarely buy more than one drink at a time, but when I do it is usually for a friend of a gal that that I like. In Cebu, where there seems to be less turnover (I've known a few gals for four or five years) I will buy an old "friend" a drink, get her recommendation, and then buy the fresher gal a drink. I spent 6 nights in AC, then 5 nights in Manila and 5 nights in Sabang, Palawan. I will post a trip report soon. But I could not help but respond to this comment above.
IMHO, AC is the perfect place for the first visit to PI. All the bars that a first time visitor needs to see are laid out on Fields walking street and Perimeter Road. Getting into the groove is easy. The girls are very friendly and it is 1500p for LT in most of the smaller bars. It is totally safe as long as you stay on the strip and take trikes back and forth from Perimeter to Fields. AC is at least as safe as Pattaya for the first time visitor. Manila on the other hand requires a little more care. A lot of bars are in poor neighborhoods with lots of beggars and potential thieves. Be careful and watch your back in the neighborhoods around MBC, EDSA Complex and AF1.
I stayed in Makati and security was everywhere. I felt pretty safe. Havana Cafe right in Greenbelt 3 across the street from my hotel was 100% safe. I paid 2000p for LT there. In Greenbelt 3, from the two coffee shops on either side of Havana Café, there was an interesting mix of girls. Burgos is a little dicier but still a lot of fun and safe if you know what you are doing and don't start wandering to far afield.

I was countering the argument made by some other member that AC is too dangerous for newbie's, which I think is totally false. By comparison to AC, I wrote, 'Manila on the other hand requires a little more care. A lot of bars are in poor neighborhoods with lots of beggars and potential thieves. Be careful and watch your back in the neighborhoods around MBC, EDSA Complex and AF1." It is not poor people per say that make a neighborhood risky. Its guys hanging around with nothing to do, eyeing the tourist and sizing him up that should raise the caution flag. I am not going to be politically correct on this. I am just saying pay attention to your surroundings in Manila and keep your wits about you. Look, I have travelled all over the world and have done some stupid things that got me in hot water. So, I have found after years of experience, that if you don't look for trouble, you usually won't find it. But, if you are looking for trouble yes, it will find you.
Again, what I am trying to say is: AC is perfectly safe for mongerer's. It is as safe as Pattaya or Penh. And is the perfect town to break your Philippine cherry in.

In two short sentences CM has explained why I don't go to AC.

For some,"cheap pussy" is the main attraction and the strip is definitely dirty, polluted and sleazy, but I found the small Fields bars in AC be very welcoming places and their girls were a lot of fun. I would not call these girls 'sophisticated' or even beautiful. They reminded me of the Philippine version of the girl next door gone bad. I took them as they were and I loved them. I think the trick to enjoying AC is 1. Don't stay too long (5 or 6 days max) and 2. Find something to do until 5pm. I spent my mornings on the computer, then I had the ABC limo guy drive me up to Nepo to have lunch and I would walk back to Fields (a good hike) , and then I would relax and flirt with the ABC pool bar girls until it was time to head out to the bars. When I left AC and first travelled down the palm lined high rise boulevards of Makati and entered the opulent and luxurious lobby of the New World Hotel; it was like travelling to another planet, but I had a good time in AC.

I just returned from my cherry trip to PI. I spent 6 nights in AC, then 5 nights in Manila and 5 nights in Sabang, Palawan. I will post a trip report soon. But I could not help but respond to this comment above.
IMHO, AC is the perfect place for the first visit to PI. All the bars that a first time visitor needs to see are laid out on Fields walking street and Perimeter Road. Getting into the groove is easy. The girls are very friendly and it is 1500p for LT in most of the smaller bars. It is totally safe as long as you stay on the strip and take trikes back and forth from Perimeter to Fields. AC is at least as safe as Pattaya for the first time visitor. Manila on the other hand requires a little more care. A lot of bars are in poor neighborhoods with lots of beggars and potential thieves. Be careful and watch your back in the neighborhoods around MBC, EDSA Complex and AF1.
I stayed in Makati and security was everywhere. I felt pretty safe. Havana Cafe right in Greenbelt 3 across the street from my hotel was 100% safe. I paid 2000p for LT there. In Greenbelt 3, from the two coffee shops on either side of Havana Café, there was an interesting mix of girls. Burgos is a little dicier but still a lot of fun and safe if you know what you are doing and don't start wandering to far afield.
So back to AC: the small party time bars are great and a lot of fun. It is completely safe unless you start behaving foolishly and wander off the strip at night in the dark. Don't try to make friends with the local Filipinos. Mind your own business and keep your eyes on the prize. The girls. You won't have a problem. My favorite bars were Gecko, Dirty Duck, Lollipops, Body Shop (on Real Street one block over from Fields) , and Emotions on Perimeter. There were a ton of bars I just did not have time for. Next trip! Every girl I made it with in AC was GFE and 1500p LT. I don't know. What more does a first time visitor want? Good report and I am surprised if you went to AC first you continued your trip to Manila. Sounds like you did great for a cherry trip!
But I do agree with X, in any country you have to have situational awareness and in the Philippines you have to have double.

Thanks againPlease do not change your plans. I promise AC is great for your first trip and 100% better then Manila. In AC everything is located very close, but in Manila you will need to take taxi's and you will find the prices higher.
Go to AC and if you need go to Lost in Asia. They open at 2 pm and they located on Perimeter Road and talk to Spike or Duke. Sit down at the big table and they will really help you and answer any questions you may have.

Mirrors at the Clarkton (next lot past the plaza opens at 3, so that gives you a cluster of 3 good afternoon bars (Roadies, the other bar in the complex, gets thumbs down from those in the know). There are advantages to going early, before the regulars (Perimeter places tend to have more regular clientele than the Lower fields area places) arrive and snap up the best girls. A couple pics from a few weeks back at Afterschool:the cutest was sitting with some guy-a regular- so could not get her picture.

I flew Cebu Pacific from Macau to Clark. It was a great flight. I arrived in AC at 11:50pm and went through customs in seconds (literally). I was picked up by the ABC limo, checked into my hotel and was back out on Fields before 12:30AM. I am finalizing my trip report now and will post it soon. I had a great time.

The management sees huge economic growth potential in AC and they are investing for it. I disagree for the following reasons:
1. In Germany where I currently live as an expat American, the prime destination is the FKK club where it's 50 Euros, or ($73. 00) for 30-minutes.
2. As a Navy veteran, I was stationed in PI in the 70's when an overnight was 50 Pesos.
However, consider inflation since then and the difference in wages and 2000 pesos is still not that much to spend.
Back then I was earning about $900 per month, and 50 pesos was about $8. 00, or about 1% of my gross monthly pay.
So now we pay 2000 pesos for an overnight, or about $45. 00 and complain about the cost.
If someone makes 50K per year, thats about $4000 per month. So 1% of that is $40. 00. About the same for me as in 1978.
The point is that this is not a great deal of cash for what you are getting. It's about equal to 9-gallons of gas in the USA, or 4-gallons in Europe.
You're on vacation, just spend the money and have a good time. You can't take it with you.

These are clearly good news for Angeles City and Philippines tourism in general. When I was in AC two weeks ago, I saw them put up a "Walking Street" sign on Fields. I think the local government plans on giving Pattaya a good run for their money.
To people upset with rising prices for the creme of the crop girls, look at the bright side. More tourists and higher barfines mean more girls will be drawn into the industry. That means more choices for everyone.
People who are more budget conscious need not fear that they'll get priced out. As with any service, there'd be different price levels for different budgets. Just as now, there's high barfines in the mega bars and low barfines on Blow Row. Who can be opposed to more choices?

As for rich Koreans not going to AC because they can afford pricier mongering elsewhere, I will have to disagree. I don't think most people go to AC on price alone. Some Korean guys prefer Filipinas. Spent an exhausting but otherwise exhilarating week in the vibrant sex enclave of the Archipelago. LOL. I tend to agree with you that some guys may be pissed off at their spending power, perceived or otherwise.
Now I have experienced first hand a couple of incidents of rudeness first hand, but nothing too extreme.
I lived in Angeles for about 14 months and I also had the pleasure of a Korean neighbor who although a bit odd by our western standards and a mean drunk, was still a lot of fun to know. Not only did he introduce me to all his friends but they took me out several times and they did not seem to have a problem with the white guy being there. One of his high rolling buddies bought the 3 of us a barfine plus drinks at Fantasy and there was no way he would take no for an answer.
On the high rolling part. Yeah these guys sure seem to have a supply of dollars. This neighbor routinely met small groups of his so called friends from Seoul and showed them around Angeles.
It was not unusual for these guys to drop 25, 000-100, 000 in 4-5 days. Mostly at the casinos but also decent amounts in local bars.
I doubt they represent the spending habits of all Koreans but this is my experience with them.
Like any other race some good and some bad.
LOL lets not forget that we are also not so nice to them either. I have a friend that TWICE by mistake tipped thanks god a different Korean customer in the toilet at MBC. God knows what must have gone through their minds but if someone did that to me I would be pissed off.

These are a people that feel they are better than all other nationalities because of their "5000 years of history," and they will proudly state that fact. But the lawsuits will mainly be filed by blacks and handicap people. It seems those 2 groups are the most aggressive in dealing with discrimination. My guess is that Europe should see more of these type of problems / lawsuits in the future; it seems Europe is starting to suffer thru race relation problems that the US suffered many years ago.
As a business owner, you can refuse service to anyone (especially the white majority). But you have to be extra careful with the minorities.
Funny example: Several years ago in the South, some late night diner made the blacks pre-pay for their meals. Whites paid afterwards. This was because statistically, some of the blacks would leave without paying. After some of the blacks complained, that diner chain got into trouble.

If you want a hotel ON Fields, Bangkok Hotel (http://www.bangkokhotel.co.kr/eng_standard.html) might be the cheapest (1100 pesos for standard room). There's places near Main Gate / Royal Apartelle that might be similar. Anything cheaper?
There should be cheaper hotels couple of blocks away from Fields.
