After reading the thread about the American Ambassador to the P. I, I had to step away from my computer for a little bit. For him to say such a thing is slander and down right despicable. What gives him the right to label us Americans' and Filipino's. I believe he should publicly apologize to both USAresidents and especially the Filipinos. Mr Ambassador, you should keep your mouth shut until you clean up your own back yard. Prostitution is alive and well here in the states and even LEGAL in Nevada. So, it should be okay to engage in prostitution here in America but not abroad? What about p4p in others countries like Russia, Ukraine, England, Italy, France and Germany. And let's not forget Amsterdam where not only is it legal but so are many drugs. Why not say the same of the people of those countries, oh, you'd get in some really serious trouble. They are not 3rd world countries and they would have your a. Just like here in America it is a way for those to support their families and thrive. Unless he plans on supporting all those women in the Philippines he should stay quiet.

Interesting! I've also found that the girls in Pattaya are considerably older now. Would you say that there is a lot of 18-20yo's in AC now?From what I saw I would say the working girls in Angeles, on average, are younger than in Pattaya. As for clothes I told her I will buy some if I like her. I also told her there is no need to invest in expensive dresses sine we are not getting married anytime soon. So I just sent her 2500 pesos which worked fine. These girls think many of us do not the Phi living standards or monetary system and cost of living.

One I've written has at least 4 close female relatives married to foreigners (Aussie plus US) , claims poverty (but no request for money. So far) and I know enough to guess she receives help from said relatives. I have no intention of splurging and have also claimed poverty. I do have a talent for being believed whether what I relay about myself reflects reality or not, unless I am trying hard not to be believed.

My previous mongering experience is limited to US ladies and to the nearest hundred is less than 300, so I am looking for a combination of better quality, bargain basement prices, and a certain lack of hardening in my victims consorts personalities. She is looking for someone to take care of her financial wants and needs. This also includes the wants of her extensive family.It doesn't mean she is simple minded. That implies she doesn't have 100% mental faculty which isn't why these girls use the word "simple". On my one previous brief trip to AC, I never did get a chance to see one of the body painting shows. I know the Atlantis advertises them for Thursdays at 9pm, but alas I will be arriving about 3 hours late for that, but will be around Fri, Sat, and Sun. Any clubs have body painting shows on those days? Preferably a club that allows pictures.Try Club Asia on Friday. It's at the Mac Donald end of Field Ave.

I tend to think that "simple" means that she comes from a very humble background, and she considers herself a down-to-earth, average person.

As for the place with the body painting shows, I think they have those kinds of shows often at Dollhouse and Atlantis. There's also another one near the Lewis Grand that has that cowboy name. I keep thinking it's called Blazing Saddles or something, I can't recall the name of that bar at the moment.

Unfortunately said Filipino nation isn't and doesn't follow dictionary definitions. Eg. Road signs say don't swerve, we all know what a swerve is. What Filipinos actually mean is "don't change lanes".

They say Fall in line when what they mean according to Miriams definition is " form a queue.

They say " hold your line" which per Miriam means " please stay on the line for a moment " etcetc.

How well does this city handle storms like the last one and the one that might arrive over the weekend?I was worried about AC with that last storm upcoming, but came anyway. It rained a whole lot and the power went out. Unfortunately for me, my hotel's generator had problems but it wasn't hot or anything so it was fine to relax in the room with no fan and air con. It went out during the afternoon and was back up in the evening. The bars were open and had plenty of women although I know a lot of women just skip work when it rains pretty bad or they think it will, but then again they take lots of days off anyway for apparently no reason. I was talking to an expat here and he told me that AC is a better place to be when storms like this come in as it's not real likely to flood due to the elevation here. I have seen the streets flood a little here, during a real heavy rain but amazingly when the rains stop it drains real quick so I think he's right. And when I say flood I'm talking like maybe covering the feet, but no higher.

Also, it got pretty bad Tuesday night, seemingly worse than the afternoon. The power stayed up through the whole night from what I am aware of and I was shocked that it did.

Just know the power may go down, but it's not hot at all out here lately with the rains here at least for me. A good hotel should have a good generator and the bigger bars have generators to keep the party going. I don't know where you are coming from so it's hard to say what's what. Air travel might be restricted though, but I think this thing is supposed to come in on Saturday, but I don't really think it's near anything that just went through here. It's kind of slow out here and think the talent level is pretty decent for AC considering.

this morning i left ac by bus to go to manila. from the dau busterminal you get the bus to pusay. that will take you close to the makati area in manila. the price was only 141 pesos for this 2 hours+ trip. the effects of the typhon are easy to see. all billboards have their signs rolled up / down and there was some flodding in the wetlands between ac and manila.

this talk about raids and changes in ac has been out of proportions on this boad. all the bars were open for business for the entire 5 days i spend in ac. except some of the bars that had no customers while the storm was peeking. by the way an other storm is now on it's way and expected to arrive on sunday.

my experience with ac is one of being overwhelmed by the number of girls, their beauty and the very low prices. and almost all the girls speak very good english. i had the pleasure of bringing 3 girls to my hotel (hotel phoenix) which is completely girlfirendly. one night the receptionist said: "hey, you got lucky." with a big smile. in fact almost all hotelguests are elderly men from the uk or australia. i had a hard time seeing myself as one of these "dirty" old men. but i guess we are all there for the fun with the girls.

softdrinks and local beer is less than 100 peso and ladies drinks only 100-150 pesos in the smaller bars. and the price of getting a girl released from a small bar for st was only 1000. 1300 pesos. that is very cheap. and they will stay for a couple of hours in your room. i had no wish to have them stay longer.

it is easy to walk from one end to the other of the entertainment district in ac if you are used to walking. but the jeepneys are there to help you. a trip by jeepney is only 8 pesos. if you need some blue pills or imported condoms (slightly bigger than the asian ones) then you just have to walk down fields late afternoon or in the evening where street wenders will approach you constantly. and the imported condoms can be bought for only 25 pesos for 3 pieces in most phamacies.

there is a supermarket on fields called jj's and you also need to pay the sm mall a visit.

for eating i strongly recomment the piccolo padre fine dining restaurant far out on the perimeter road. it i shortly after the 7-eleven. the food is amazing for at westerner and also very affordable. they opned less than 6 months ago. say hi from copenhagen when you see eida who is the host of the restaurant.

if you think it is going to be difficult talking to and get a deal with the girls in the bars. you are wrong. it is very easy. and the mammasans and the waitreses are there to encurage you.

you have to visit ac at least once before you die!

I'm a young, black guy, and am not sure if my race would potentially be an issue on that side of the world. Have been to other parts of Asia, with varied levels of success, so no offence to anyone, but I just want to avoid going halfway around the world for a not so warm reception! Any advice guys? Have you come across any black guys out and about in AC?You won't have a problem. I am the same as you, and you will see others. Alot visit the sky traxx nightclub on fields as well, I had no problem with bar girls or just girls I met out at the mall. Most bars have a girl who they try to set up with the black guys, its usually the girl with the biggest ass, but make sure you choose who you want, they all will have no problem if you pick them. If dirty duck is open, you should visit, they are kinda known to have girls who like black guys, but any bar will do.

I am a white guy from USA and I get treated different and mostly its because they perceive we have money to throw away so they overcharge us.

But at the same time being a foreigner I get better treatment sometimes.

The usual rules of travel apply be careful, friendly and don't trust anyone.

A friend of mine just had his pockets picked by a 5 year old kid. And you don't want to touch these kids.

Also another time I and other friends had been surrounded by a group of kids that want to pick our pockets.

Don't let anyone that close.

The kids are not really dangerous just a big nuisance and will steal anything they can and pick your pockets

Just got back from AC, here is part one of my trip report. I stayed at the Pacific Breeze. For my thoughts on the hotel, see the AC hotels sub-forum.

Day 1:

Arrived Thursday night around 11pm. Quickly showered and headed out for some bar hopping. Hit up Tropix, Camelot, Brown Sugar, Icarus, Angel Witch, Golden Nile, and Forbidden City. My intention was to just get a quick view of several bars that I had not been to on my previous trip. Things got kind of fuzzy, because I had a couple drinks at each bar, and they started to add up. Those that are less fortunate then you in AC are even less fortunate in Thailand due to even further gap in communication. I am with you that Thais are more professional in many ways then filipinas, but that's not necessary a good thing for the monger. First. I don't think you will have any problem with the English that is used in Philippines, at least in the major destinations. In the provinces, you will definitely find less.

I am no expert on all the neighborhoods. But there are better / more ex-pat friendly neighborhoods and of course the opposite. I have a couple of friends that have lived there in Angeles for a number of years. One probably is paying in that neighborhood (approx. $350 to $ 400 per month) for a pretty new unfurnished apartment. 2 bdrms 2 baths with a secure driveway. This is in Villa Sol past the Clarkton towards the Friendship Gate. The others live in the area around the VFW and actually pay less, again unfurnished. Even some of the "Gated" neighborhood have had their problems. So no place is perfect in Angeles but with more money involved, the better the results. You would have to see the conditions that the average Philipino (some of the girls and their families live in. At $ 50 or so a month) to appreciate some of the neighborhoods.

I agree that the food in Pattaya is much better than the food in AC, but I think Pattaya cuisine is vastly inferior to BKK or Chiang Mai offerings. I dig Thai food. Can you give me a few of your favorite Thai restaurants in Pattaya. Maybe I have haven't found the good ones yet.

The accommodations there are world class.I would say Pattaya offers many more hotel choices in all price points and within each quality level Pattaya accommodations offer better deals than AC accommodations. This is offset by the fact that AC girls on average offer cheaper service. But, ABC and Lewis Grand for example are pretty good places to stay and if they were located in Pattaya, they would be very competitve.

Other than for some business purpose, the only reason to go to AC is for the girls and when you get down to the bottom line, that is the only rational reason to be in Pattaya too (other than business or family).

Anyway, I prefer Bangkok over Pattaya or AC. The reason is because BKK is a major city of commerce and culture. The nightlife is very good and a huge bonus. It is hard to run out of things to do in the big mango. The restaurants are among the best in the world. The problem with renting an apartment for a single month is the bureaucracy to get your utilities turned on and the deposits you will lose if you leave in a hurry. It would be rare to find anything other than a shit hole that wouldn't require advance payment as well as two, or three months security deposit. If you are looking for a place to party anonymously you won't find it. Filipinos are wonderful people but a deep social characteristic is that they are extremely nosy. Your best bet is to find a good aparatelle. There are several in town. They are furnished, usually within walking distance of the Central Bar District and include all utilities. They have less security than a hotel but are fairly economical because they have the long stay discount. They range in size from a studio to a one bedroom. The one above the Camelot has a jacuzzi. When it's time to leave you pay and check out without ever having to visit and stand in line at the power, or water company.

There are no standard apartments that are worth staying in that will rent for a single month. The utilities bureaucracy alone would prevent this. In AC there are what they call apparatelles. They are furnished.

Some quite lavishly such as the one above the Camelot that has a large jacuzzi and are mostly within walking distance of the central bar district. They range in size from a studio to a one bed room. Google.

Need to add one more reason; the normal price for a go-go girl is cheaper in Angeles.

In Pattaya, it would be approx 600. 1000 baht for the barfine, and 1000. 2500 baht tip. I normally pay 700 barfine plus 1500 baht tip for 2 or 3 hours; I normally don't do long time. So that's a total of 2200 baht ($73).

In Angeles, the barfine for longtime would be between approx 1500. 3000 pesos. I normally paid around 1700 pesos ($40).

$33 (73-40) adds up if you travel for a few months. Due to the stock crashes of 2000 and 2008, I have to be on a moderate budget when I travel.

Yes I know that in Pattaya you can pay a lower tip, but I believe that's for the lower half of the girls (in terms of looks) , and / or at the end of the night. You can negotiate in Pattaya for the tip, but in Angeles that is not possible.

In Angeles, some of the girls will be 3000 pesos ($70) , but then you need to compare them to the top notch spotlight girls in Pattaya; the barfine might be 700. 1000 plus 2000 shortime or 3000 longtime ($90. $133).If you are paying 3,000 for an EWR / barfine in AC (most likely at the Dollhouse) you are being taken. It is paying full retail.

There is a set price for all the girls including the spotlight / model girls. If you want a spotlight girl, you have to pay the sticker price, or walk away and go to Perimeter as you suggest.

Huh? How can you suggest that the girls are the same between Fields and Perimeter. Yes, many girls will have the same level of looks (many are ugly or marginal on both Fields and Perimeter). But the top looking girls in Fields will be better than the top ones in Perimeter.

You are correct if you are referring to performance of the girls. Actually, I don't normally try for those spotlight girls. Not just becaue of the cost, but because many of the cuter ones will not do all the things I like.

Its been a year since my last trip and everything is pretty much the same except inflation has now increased a lot of the standard BF by some 20% or 1800P, the top 3000P spotlight prices remains unchanged which suggest some supply / demand correction to the prices. Some new bars, some closed but on average, I would say there are more bars now than there were last year. I expected less as I did not think there were enough of us to go around. This is one thing I see about AC vs Pattaya, the girls far outnumber the punters in AC, some eventually go home hungry (even the good looking ones).

I walk into Shakey's at SM Clark and the manager recognizes me and says it's been a year since my last visit. I really expected to be forgotten after a year (after all I have not really been a frequent visitor here like some other contributors). Then I return to Swiss Chalet restaurant and the waitresses even remember my name!

Also nice to see that unused dump between Lewis and Euroasia Hotel now transformed into a garden retail center. I would have stayed at Lewis, but their reservation system had changed, I never got my prepayment request and had my reservation cancelled as a result, so I ended up at Fields Plaza Suites (FPS). None of those silly room inventory checklists, instead you get a fridge with 2x SML + 2x Coke complimentary in addition to bottled water. There is no mini-bar (not that you need one with 7-eleven nearby) so no additional charges unless of course you charge something from an ABC restaurant. I sure miss the Lewis pool, but the room comes with free transfers to the ABC pool. I did check out the ABC pool along my Perimeter walks and is probably the coolest pool in AC, but being flanked by rooms on every side meant a sun tan was only ever possible for a short time around noon.

The Dollhouse is still closed but oddly Crystal Palace seems to have nearly twice as many girls now. Promoters are still out there trying to pull you in, girls are still dancing on stages scantily clad. The bustling street makes any raid or recent homicide seem like a very distant memory.

The stage in Carousel was turning everyday I was there. Some of you might remember Lulu (from my previouse posts) and her good friend Jocelyn is still there. Jocelyn is less attractive but loads more fun with that stud on her tongue (despite her Richard 'Jaws' Kiel teeth). She was BF 3 out of the 4 days I was there, Lulu #211 who I think is a knock out has no takers. Seems like seasoned repeat customers know who the good performers are at Carousel. There is nothing wrong with Lulu of course, it's just that AC has so many bars and girls, even hotties have to work extra hard. It soon becomes apparent that even with my 4 days, I cannot accomplish having all the girls I like.

Been following the threads on the "no sex" bar-fined girls. I have noticed that many guys are now asking upfront (when they first start "talking" with the girls) :

If I were a bar owner, I would group those who get barfined almost every night into a special P3000 catagory. If those girls still get barfined nightly at P3000, they go to P3500 catagory. And if they still get barfined almost nightly at P3500, they go to P4000. This continues until, at a certain price point, she only gets barfined 2-3 times a week.

That means, a bar can have many groups of girls all charging different prices. We have a P1500 pool here dancing on one stage. A P2000 pool on another stage. And a P3000 pool there in the back. Or maybe they get differentiated by the color of their tag.

We already have this system in the mega-bars on Fields. With more tourists flooding in, there will likely be wider price ranges simply because the bars can get away with certain dancers who are insanely in demand.

The most popular bars, the ones with the largest volume, have the best looking girls and that eventuates in more customers. Not 50 peso beer or 1200 peso bar fines.

Then look at the true price of things. Most of the town does not make its money from the locals on a pension. Its a tourist destination and like they still pack Pattaya, they will pack Angeles. Cause at 50 something plus in your home country, you are not going to get an 20 year old girl to spend the night with you for $150 USA (approx. 6,500 peso). So my opinion is that prices have much room to climb above the dreaded 3, 000 peso being charged for some girls.

As for the earlier discussion on Gecko's, that bar's reputation seems one of the hidden secrets. Girls at that bar earn an extra day of salary if they leave their customer and return to the bar before quitting time. Its a built in structure that does not exist at most bars.

I've never read a post where Perimeter customers complain about lack of seating.

Of course, if prices soar too much, big spenders will stay away. But if that happens, bar owners will simply lower prices. They aren't in business to commit financial suicide. They probably have a better feel of proper price points to maximize revenue than any of us.

Besides, considering how Manila airport has been in the news lately for being voted "the World's Worst airport", it's pretty obvious Filipino authorities don't care about first impressions of their country. The airport is a nightmare and exceeded capacity 20 years ago and no one has done a thing.

Reading through the recent reports, I see FurryFriend referring to the Koreans a lot. And, to answer his earlier question "Do you think Korean guys are in Angeles City to pinch pennies?" YES. The fact is that even though they spend large amounts of money in Philippines, it is much cheaper than the amounts they would spend in their home country for the same type of service. The Koreans are going to the Philippines for the same reason most of the rest of us are. It's much cheaper there! I lived in Korea for a total of 11 years, and was married to a Korean woman for more than 20 years. One thing I learned from my experiences there, is that a Korean man will spend large amounts of money just to impress his friends / colleagues. Its a cultural thing. And they don't think anything about spending $600 dollars in one evening to have pretty, young girls do nothing more than hang off of their arms. They may try to cop a feel, or grope her tits at times, but sex is not their primary reason for having the girls there. Granted, there is an exception to every rule. I'm sure that many Korean men are just as much of a horny monger as any of the rest of us.

Watching what is happening with the P4P price structures in Philippines reminds me a lot of what happened to the P4P scene in Korea. My first time in Korea was in 1987. At that time a short time cost only $10 and an overnight was $20. Now, the prices being quoted by very low quality providers is $200+ for a short time. After hearing that, and recovering from the near heart attack, I was afraid to ask about the overnight price. In 2005, the Korean government caved in to pressure from other countries (USA is the primary suspect) to cut down on "prostitution and [CodeWord908] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908)." In order to do this, they started heavily enforcing an anti-prostitution law that had been on the books for many years. As a result, many of the more popular P4P scenes closed down. Actually, the girls moved their business into less obvious venues. This caused increase prices for their services, due to the increase expenses for their operations. For the average foreigner in Korea, it is difficult to find P4P. On top of all of this, many P4P operations have adopted an old cultural view that a woman is no good if she has f*cked a foreign man. So many places now refuse service to anyone other than Koreans. Which might also explain why many of the clubs catering to Korean men in Philippines discourage men of other nationalities from doing the same for other nationalities.

Enjoy the good, cheap pussy in the Philippines while you can. I predict that it will turn out much like Korea in the future. But there are plenty of other 3rd world nations around the world. 10 to 20 years from now, those of us that can still get it up might be having this discussion about the next great sex destination. The P4P scene will not completely disappear from Philippines. But it may well get to be way too expensive to be worth traveling around the world for.

AC is a different case since there are more newbie tourists coming in every year. A lot of them are big spenders and think everything in ac is dirt cheap (compared to back home). It's a case of the bars charging what the market will bear.

It is the same scenario playing out in China. 7 years ago, say, China was not nearly as rich as it is right now. The first tier cities (shanghai and Shenzhen in particular) were on their way to a boom but not as developed as right now. P4p was cheap and everywhere. Once these cities grew rich the government really clamped down on the p4p. By now, it's not much fun to monger in these cities anymore. P4p still exists, but most of it is the high end stuff. The cheap stuff is quite well-hidden, the newbie monger is unlikely to find these spots.

There is still lots of p4p in China, in the smaller cities. Still relatively affordable as of now. Although prices are rising in line with general wage increases and inflation in China.

Soup was 3 RMB, bread was like 5 RMB. Fresh shrimp fried was like 20 RMB.

Ok, here is my summary on the past week:

Dinner at ABC hotel (500P all you can eat Asian-fusion) , I had to include this because I found it unique in AC. They had about 10 dinner items + 4 desserts, you just choose which ones you want, and the girls brings it. Each plate was small (had the "french" fancy presentation too). The food was pretty damn good. I really like the look of the hotel (swim up bar, etc.) too bad its kind of pricey (standard room was 4900P / night). They even had a small bar next to the pool with its own (I assume) girls that you could EWR. Pretty convenient for the guests I suppose.

Lancelot. I still think this place is pretty good. The girls were friendly, not pushy, and weren't bad looking. The waitresses seemed better looking over all than the dancers. Not too loud, not smoky at all. Those were big pluses for me.

Lollipop. Wow, I was disappointed. The place is fairly run down and the girls were more interested in talking to each other than to customers. But to be fair, I went late and didn't stay long.

Champagne. Nice place, again, waitresses seemed better looking than the dancers. Set-up is strange. The booths are setup in a row facing the stage so doesn't make for a good area for "groups" of people to hang out. There are tables at either end of the stage, but then you can't see very much from those areas.

Treasure Island. Wow this place is small. Didn't stay since there wasn't enough room. Go early if you want to sit here.

Crystal Palace. I found this place so-so. There were many girls, but I didn't think they were that great looking. However, I got there late so maybe the good ones were already snatched up.

Golden Nile. Smoky place, crowded, loud. Some lookers, but it was a little too loud for conversations.

Dollhouse. Not too bad. Some nice dancers as well as decent looking waitresses.

Forbidden City. I still think this is one of the best places. The shows (choreographed dances) are entertaining. Lots of cute dancers and I ended up with a very hot girl from Quezon (why she was still there at midnight is beyond me). But, before she showed up, I spent most of the time talking to the waitresses. Ended up hanging out here almost the whole night. The dancer was awesome, made me very very happy, and never asked for anything. She seemed genuinely surprised when I gave her trike money the next day. She was a sweetheart!

Stayed at the Grand Central (or Central Grand. I never got this straight). I guess it used to be called the orange lion or something. So few seemed to know where it was. Its right on the strip, across the Amsterdam hotel. Hotel was great, no problems. Even the food was good. Went across to Amsterdam for breakfast (good food).

My overall thoughts / impressions:

1) Grand Central. Great hotel. I would stay again. The Amsterdam, from what I saw looked good too. The ABC hotel is awesome, but only if you want to pay out US $100+ a night.

2) Best clubs for me was the Lancelot and Forbidden city. During the afternoons, the International club and Tropix were two good handouts.

3) Cherry girls. I've seen the "concept" before in different forms in other places (Phnom Penh mostly). Funny, the non-cherry girls were very anxious to point out who the "cherry girls" are. Makes sense. Most guys would be looking for the whole deal so it helps trim down the competition for the non-cherries for drinks. Saw some Cherries giving the stink looks at the non-cherries! I have found that if you talk to the girl. They quickly tell you who the cherries are. I never sat with a cherry (not sure why. Guess I got lucky? Bad taste in women?)

4) Tropix had a system which seemed unique (maybe not) the girls that were not "bar fined" in a while had a different color (red) tag. And their EWR price was 150P less than the regulars (1650 vice 1800). Surprisingly, the ones that I saw with the "red" tag weren't necessarily the fuglies. I can only surmise that if the system works how they claim, some of you out there have some strange tastes (I am joking. Each to his own).

5) Seemed that the prices are fairly stable at 1600-1850 for regulars and 3K for "spotlight" girls.

6) A bit too many dudes selling drugs, Kubotan (batons) , belts, wallets, stun guns, and laser pointers (although in retrospect, playing with the pointer could have been fun in the clubs). I couldn't believe I saw guys buying the drugs from the street vendors. Scary. Who knows if its fake and if so, with what? I read a report recently that said something like 40% of the various pills circulating in southeast Asia were fake. But again, each to his own. Lots of beggars too. Especially kids. But they weren't as persistent / annoying as in Manila (Ermita).

7) Never went to Geckos. Really, there are so many other places, it wasn't hard to avoid. Just trying to support the group!

8) Didn't see / hear any Japanese, but saw many Koreans (I speak Japanese so if they talk, I'll know which is which).

9) Some places don't call it "bar fine" or "EWR". But instead bring a tray with 12 or 14 or whatever shots of whatever (rum&coke, juice, etc.) My friend freaked the first time since he didn't know why the lady brought it. Guess it makes the bar feel more "legit" since you are paying for the drinks and not the girl. Most times the drinks are left behind anyway.

10) I know some people argue country / city X is better than country / city Y and I will probably get flamed, but I have found beauties everywhere in Asia, and each country has its own charms. Hey, each to his own. In terms of price, AC is cheaper than Bangkok, Manila / Makati, KL, Jakarta and many other places, but not as cheap as Phnom Penh or smaller cities in Indonesia. I really like AC (and Philippines in general) simply because of the English level. Unless you get lucky in the other countries, its hard to get a girl with the same level of English ability as in the Philippines (in general).

Which was not happening in so frequently during the last 10 years or so. Unless, PH does not care like Thai King does on what the west thinks. Come what may. The price will keep going up

This is why I find it silly for people to complain about AC being unaffordable or how Koreans are overpaying. There's unimaginably far more girls than demanded. 80-90% of girls can't get away with charging P2000+. You have an endless supply of girls for under P1500.

I think what most people are complaining about is returning to find their Hyundai parked in the Ferrari lot with a ridiculous price on it. Even more disappointing is finding out that the 'Ferrari' now performs worse and is less dependable than when it was a Hyundai. Rebranding the Hyundai as a Ferrari, while lowering performance and dependability, is a good move for the crooked car dealership in the short term. True, the customers looking for value in their purchases will shun the dealership but there will always be less savvy shoppers to take their place up to a point. Some of the larger dealerships are not in business to make a profit. The cars are simply there to provide a front for their real revenue generator. Therefore, they don't care about how many cars actually move off the lot.

ALL dealerships are here to make a profit! Methinks it's a fair assumption that everybody of sound mind has a natural inclination to maximize income. It's just some dealers prefer focusing on higher end cliente. There's certainly nothing wrong with different dealerships pursuing different strategies. If they all pursued the same strategy, consumers wouldn't have a choice.

By the way, there is no doubt expensive dealerships attract not just more patrons, but higher class patrons. You don't need a Harvard MBA to project higher net profit for them.

I don't think that is the case. It's more likely that someone neglected to make their scheduled "corruption payment" and was taught a lesson on timely payment of protection money.

There is just to much revenue generated in AC for the place to close on a local initiative. There would have to be pressure from the top (Manila) , which is unlikely since the protection money is likely distributed throughout the system.

My experiences in the Philippines indicate that EVERYONE expects a piece of the action, which is why only a portion of cash earmarked for public projects actually get applied to a project after everyone involved gets a cut.
