Too much thinking, not enough culture. Pinoy culture is somewhat different possibly than yours. A girl works in a bar to make money, even if she doesn't barfine often. Many cherry girls are cute and often appear young, and many gents are dumb enough to sit and drink with her. I have tried to book a flight several times for Nov. On Tiger Air from BKK to clark without success. My credit card company s (2 from US) stated its a problem with Tiger Air's website. What gives? Any one experience this?To long 91.
I use my Citi bank us card it work just fine no problem Cebu pacific air is the airline I have problem with many time before just contact the credit card company and rebook and it they take the card.

I was checking out of Pacific Breeze last week and while waiting for a taxi, I nosily started reading the security log. Sad story of a guy who picked up two FL from a disco and brought them back to the hotel. He left his Galaxy phone on charge and the girls took it and left after sex. This in spite of the security guys calling for confirmation that everything was Ok before letting the girls go.
Hard to know what to make of this but I would have thought that it was fairly high risk for the girls unless they managed to dump it on the street (possible in several ways at PBH) before departing the hotel and I guess there are other lessons there as well. Securing your things and being more alert when there are two girls you don't know might be one of them. The security guy told me that most of their problems run along these lines with FL. The guy was offering 10, 000 pesos to get his phone back. Unlikely I guess.

I thought I would never ever set foot in Angles city but these guys working with me on a project here in japan asked me to go with them to Angles city. So this Friday we go and I may add they paid for my flight ticket. I will help them navigate with my eperience in the Phils. I have been advising them on some things but I just do not know Angeles that well.
As this is my first trip I read that the barfines are anywhere from 1500P to 3000P and not to tip anymore than 200P due to price increases there.
I would like to know what bars I should advise to stay out of:

Is there any place in Angles to find a safe FL? Say disco or something. I read street ladies can be a no no.

Of course, it would take much longer to get to know the girl and doing that from another part of the world makes things complicated. But ultimately we have to decide whether it's worth it to go that route or just be there to bang bar girls who will likely not be good candidates for long term relationships. Is it possible in Angeles bars as was thinking about a long over due visit. I guess lung disease will catch up with a few of us. I am early 40's non-smoker so was just bad luck that I had this problem back in 2006. Knowing life is short I am adopting the attitude to play more.

but I'm guessing you won't find a smoke free bar in the Philippines.In P. Burgos in Makati are bars having a smoking lounge, so the rest of the bar is smoke-free, but in AC I'm not aware of any smoke-free bar. Can only recommend to hit the larger bars with better air-conditioning systems then. Better forget about the smaller ones.

If I'm not mistaken, smoking in an indoor public venue is illegal in AC (allegedly, prostitution is too). That said, I was permitted to smoke in probably 75% of the bars I was in! Some of them advised me that if the 'authorities' entered the bar, I would be expected to snuff it out quickly. There were a few bars where they told me I could not smoke though so if you search hard enough, you'll eventually stumble across one.
I can only remember one specific bar where I was told I could not smoke but I was so damn drunk I can't remember the name of it. I know it was very close to Ponytails (perhaps adjacent) and was in between PT and the ABC hotel. It was a small bar and what little of the night in there I can remember, I had a good time in there. I think. I was on the other side of 'hammered' when I was in there. PT and ABC are not that far apart by the way.

Hi all,
Just returned from a short stay in AC and here to share my thoughts. Its my fourth visit, (but all short ones).
Arrived about 10pm by car from Manila airport and stayed in Pacific Breeze hotel. It suits me, I find its a good balance between value and amenities. Went out and about, and ended the evening with a couple of FLs close to Margerita Station. Took them back and did the deeds, but then fell for a bit of a shocker, so a word of warning. One had a headache and wanted to go out with me and get some pills. Left the other one in bed, and returned about 5 mins later. Soon after that they both left, and asked me to walk them out past the security guys. No doubt some of you have spotted the plot, when I returned to my room, my cash and 2 see / cards had been removed form the room safe! (I always leave valuables in the safe) I can only think she must have seen me enter the pin number. Cancelled the cards straight away, cash lost, lesson learned. So be vigilant guys. Fortunately had another card which she left, so was able to continue trip and pay the hotel bill!
Following day connected with a DIA date who was great, did all night, left around 10 in the morning and returned at my request the same evening for another overnight, until I flew out early the next morning, and gave her 3000 present. Before she returned I took a massage, and had the option of happy ending or returning with her to the room, so took the latter course; 300 for massage and another 700 for full room service.
I was there on a Saturday night, and was quite surprised how quiet it was on Walking Street compared with previous visits. I met an Australian who spends most of his time there, and he told me there is more action at Perimeter currently, though earlier in the day. And by the way, many bars seem to have changed their name. I don't really do the bar fine scene, so can't comment on that, but you won't be lonely in AC for now anyway.

So be vigilant guys.I have a simple rule about streetwalkers in AC: no way, no exceptions. Even girls from the sleaziest bars, like say Prince of Wales, are less likely to cause problems and at least you have some recourse if they do.
Tourism is definitely down at the moment, probably due to all the talk about the police crackdown. Perimeter is doing better because it relies more on resident expats. Barfines in fact are back to normal at most places, though there are still a few bars where you have to arrange to meet and pay the girl off-premises. (And once you pay for her, she can't go back to work that day. How this helps keep AC respectable I can't even guess.) Things should pick up in a month or so when high season kicks in. But for now it's great, a real buyer's market.
was in ac a couple of weeks ago on a weekend trip. landed late on friday night and was picked up by the condotel driver. showered and went out prowling. first thing i noticed was that the crowds were pretty thin everywhere. i first peeped into viking and there were a few cuties and they seemed to be having fun. i stayed for a couple of drinks but decided to see what else was out there. checked into oew and as always a very friendly set of waitresses and had a lot of fun with them but none caught my eye. so as it was getting late i thought i would try insomnia. in my last couple of trips i found quite a few spirited top heavy ladies there but this time i didn't see many. however i got talking to the waitress and decided to barfine her. went with her to skytrax and had a good time drinking and dancing and making out before taking the show to the hotel room. she was great and true gfe. even offered bbfs but i decided not to risk it. she stayed in the morning until 10 for round 3 and left.
during the day i tried to check out the santos bars but no one caught my eye. in the evening i peeped into ponytails but maybe i was too early or something there were hardly any men and the energy was very low. then i went to crystal palace and i must say i was quite impressed. even though i hate their jacked up barfine system, i think next time i will definitely pull someone from there. large number of young cuties that were actually very friendly and flirty with customers not like stuck up ones that i found in the past. i really liked one but he was already making out with another guy and i waited for a while but it looked like it was going to o on for a while! anyway as i was walking, i saw a door girl at viking that was really cute. so i followed her in and in an hour she was changed and we were going to high society! had a grat time drinking, dancing and making out. onto the room and again another great gfe performance, stayed until i had to leave for the airport in the morning. all in all a great trip.
by the way, i didn't have any hassles at any of the bars about the barging stuff. it seemed like old times. so not sure if things have come back to normal or i just visited the bars that have been spared.

Must be the former Edelweiss, nowadays called Lune bar or something like that.Exspat, I found some photos of the front of Lunetime in Balibago. Org. (Note to Jackson; I don't think that site is a competitor or I wouldn't post it). Lunetime looks like it shares the façade and spaghetti (wiring above) with Ponytails. I found a photo of Edelweiss on Google Earth and it appears Lunetime may have torn down that entrance and extended the façade to cover the old 'hole in the wall'. There is a building to the right in the photos that I believe is the Devora and if that's the case, it would have been Edelweiss I was in, now apparently Lunetime.
If Jackson didn't block that website, check out the interior photos of Lunetime. The word 'exquisite' comes to mind and is perhaps the first time I have ever seen corrugated metal roofing used for wall paneling. Nice rack on 202 though.

There are many many videos about how to open those cheap code safes on youtube.
The really bad ones (that look exactly like many safes I have had in rooms) you give a hard wack to the top of the safe and twist the lock at the same time and the door opens. Others take a bit of metal stuck in the side to hit the code reset button. Some have default unlock mastercodes.
The safes are only to deter casual opportunity thieves. People with youtube access and intent can open many of them in seconds.

Viking which is the first time I took someone out is higher. 2500. But I had a great time with both. A lot of GFE and stayed until I had to kick them out.

a report from harry the horse on recent ac bar raid. harry is a retired resident of ac and reports on activities there.
the carousel raid. this latest raid took place on friday. 11 oct, at 9 pm. i did not write anything on my breaking news for information.
was limited. for two weeks i was talking to various sources, trying to piece together a few facts. what i found out dismayed me and also.
angered me. as i write this a filipino male supervisor, one foreign tourist who was training to be a manager and 7 females were being held.
in station four awaiting further legal procedures. the foreigner kind of stepped on his own tongue. he decided to introduce himself,
unknown to him, to an american undercover agent and his 'fiance'. while talking to them he mentioned that he owned bars in germany and.
the difficulty there was the high taxes. but, he continued, the problem here in ac is that they have to pay a lot of money to the nbi.
and cidg under the table in order not to be raided. this turned out to be a very stupid thing to say and now he has time to think back at.
his words while in jail. they are being provided food and rubber mats to sleep on but the conditions are crowded, hot and very.
uncomfortable. bear in mind that these people are innocent of any crime but yet the forces that be, as usual, enjoy the act of torturing.

Just returned from a short stay in AC and here to share my thoughts. Its my fourth visit, (but all short ones).
Went out and about, and ended the evening with a couple of FLs close to Margerita Station. Took them back and did the deeds, but then fell for a bit of a shocker, so a word of warning. One had a headache and wanted to go out with me and get some pills. Left the other one in bed, and returned about 5 mins later. Soon after that they both left, and asked me to walk them out past the security guys. No doubt some of you have spotted the plot, when I returned to my room, my cash and 2 see / cards had been removed form the room safe! (I always leave valuables in the safe) I can only think she must have seen me enter the pin number. Cancelled the cards straight away, cash lost, lesson learned. So be vigilant guys. Fortunately had another card which she left, so was able to continue trip and pay the hotel bill!As a 20 time visitor to AC I would never recommend FLs. Notoriously bad news in AC to take anyone from the street unless you enjoy being set up and taken to the cleaners. Read the warnings in every hotel room compendium. It is good advice for your own safety there. Needless to say streetwalkers are usually those who cannot work in bars (read. Fail the health check)
It's a free world but living on the edge in AC usually ends in tears as many before you will testify.

Most of my mongering I stick in between non-pros. Then when I do go pro, as with anything else, I don't like to deal with a middleman. (Maybe it is because I cut my mongering teeth in Rio where there was an extremely large pool of FL and there was no barfine system. And even when I got to know Brazil and started speaking the language, for me there was less mongering and more non-pros.) If I can go straight to the source then I will do that. I especially don't understand guys, more so on the Bangkok thread, who will go to the same bar over and over and barfine the same woman. My rationale is that if you have already made her acquaintance, then why not just have her phone number and get her to come over when she is not working. What is the purpose of giving the bar money every time you want to fuck her?

the carousel raid. this latest raid took place on friday. 11 oct, at 9 pm. i did not write anything on my breaking news for information was limited. for two weeks i was talking to various sources, trying to piece together a few facts. what i found out dismayed me and also angered me. as i write this a filipino male supervisor, one foreign tourist who was training to be a manager and 7 females were being held in station four awaiting further legal procedures. the foreigner kind of stepped on his own tongue. he decided to introduce himself, unknown to him, to an american undercover agent and his 'fiance'. while talking to them he mentioned that he owned bars in germany and the difficulty there was the high taxes. but, he continued, the problem here in ac is that they have to pay a lot of money to the nbi and cidg under the table in order not to be raided. this turned out to be a very stupid thing to say and now he has time to think back at his words while in jail. they are being provided food and rubber mats to sleep on but the conditions are crowded, hot and very uncomfortable. bear in mind that these people are innocent of any crime but yet the forces that be, as usual, enjoy the act of torturing innocent people on trumped up charges. we all know the routine, raid a bar, load up buses with girls, take them to camp olivas, separate them into groups, release a few, separate others into a group in which they are held without charges and the police threaten them to sign affidavits against the floor managers, etc. this is the normal routine used by various agencies and this time it was a pnp special group operation. what shocked me this time is that an additional element entered the scenario. the raid also involved a united states homeland security (hsi) special agent assigned to the us embassy, manila. this man, special agent keith (i chose not to use his full name) set up the raid by working undercover with the nbi. he is the one with the pnp female officer posing as his fiance.

i conferred with a senior pnp source for a follow up and that individual informed me the raid was due to a complaint being initiated against the carousel alledging us citizens were bar fining **** girls, thus the joint operation with the us embassy. the girls were detained for a complete examination including fake identification and dental records to confirm their age. upon determining the girls were of legal age and legit, they were released accordingly. the investigation is on going with no revelation if any us citizens are persons of interests.

I'm pretty hardened to the scene but I would have thought that after a few years as a good customer, you'd be pretty safe. The lesson is, no you're not.

he was an expat living there at the time. he didn't like using the bars. so only saw fl's and off duty bg's. same kind of story. thought he had developed a bond. was shocked when it all went down. cops held him in jail about a day and a half til he settled up.
the problem becomes. even if you are innocent. how long do you want to sit in jail in the pi. no bed, sleeping on the floor, any decent food must be provided by friend or family, unsanitary conditions (king size roaches, no ac). and you could remain there for months before being released.
its sort of like smoking. many do it for years w / no affect. one has to decide for themselves the risks involved.

Just thought I would pass on a review on the new Penthouse hotel.
The Penthouse is hard to miss, its the tallest building in Pampanga located near Pacific Breeze across from (former) Cuba Cuba. I stayed in a basic room. 3500P a night.
Positives.
- Big 40 inch Samsung flat screen TV with good movie selections. DVD player.
- Great location heart of the action.
- Best bed I have ever had in a hotel with a Memory foam cover (king bed)
- A dizzying light selection for every corner of the room.
- Stream room / shower.
- Contemporary room design I. E. LOTS of glass.
- Big soaker tub.
- Very nice pool on the roof.
- Friendly staff.
- View could be a plus or a minus depending on the floor you get (I think there are 12 floors) I was in 4th floor so I was staring into the back of Wild Orchid hotel.
Negatives.
- Heart of Balibago means VERY noisy, car alarms going off all night, horns honking, music. Construction noise.
- No restaurant open yet. But you can order food from across the street.
- Lots of glass in the CR area, also means no privacy I. E. Do you want your date watching you take a dump? (maybe yes maybe no) Bahala ka.
- Building construction is not complete. Front desk and entrance is kind of make shift.
All in all I liked the Penthouse. The noise was the biggest issue I had with the place. There are plenty of places to eat nearby so no restaurant in house is no biggy for me.
IMHO. All in all its a upgrade to Pacific Breeze. However not as nice as ABC (but also much cheaper). Rooms are smaller than at Lewis Grand, but better location.

We arrived close to midnight and I went out to get us something to eat. Went one block too far and walked up Carino street between Kisad and Legarda near the west end of Burnham park. There were a few bars and KTVs with some shills out front promising me women. The block where the bars were was two blocks from the park and didn't see any freelancers on that block. Have no idea if the places are worth visiting as I had brought my own.

- Observed very few anglos / westerners in AC maybe about 20% of total monger crowd. Koreans and Malaysians are kings in AC. Which is fine, they seem respectful and generally don't act like idiots.
- Overall quality of woman was poor. Best talent was observed "but not sampled" as freelancers at the head of Walking street I. E. Between Philies sport bar and Atlantis. Also some FL in Skytrax were above average.
- Checked with travel agent, and there are several good flight options to Bangkok from Clark. Cost about 12, 600p ($300 USD)
- If you are considering a side trip to Boracay there is no service to Caticlan anymore from Clark. You must go thru Kalibo now, which means about a 2 hour additional ride in a bus. Cost however was very cheap at 3500 p.

I have been in AC the past few days. Bars appear to be busy with lots of girls. I don't stay up late nor do I visit many bars and have my pick by 9pm and back to my hotel. So I can't comment on late action or the different bars. But no problem with inventory or selection. Girls do have family on their minds but really can't do anything but to wait it out like everyone else. News have been slow to come out. CNN Anderson Cooper got to ground zero before the Philippine's relief team (s). Also it makes no sense for anyone to go to ground zero to look for a relative, so the girls are here.

- RE: Side effect from Cialis / Viagra / Andros. One side effect I always get from the street Cialis is after day 2 a terrible heart burn, also a stuffy nose. From the Andros I got a mild stuffy nose but no heart burn.
- When in Manila I inquired about some Andros at a GENEREX. The pharmacist said they have a generic equivalent 2 boxes (4 per box) 100mg for 1100p. I have yet to try them out. Anyone try that yet?
- RE: Pony Tails / Camelot. Usually I hit those two bars. But this trip I did not. For some reason I never have much luck finding any viable talent up towards perimeter from Atlantis.
- About 80% of the girls I interviewed in AC where from Samar or Leyte or Bicol. In Manila (EDSA COMPLEX) it was many girls from Cavite for some reason.

For some reason Indian generic drugs are not available in Phi. Easily available in Cambodia and Thailand. I do not trust any of the pills sold by vendors although it is packaged nicely.
Real Indian generic viagra are definitely very good produced by reputable Indian drug companies. I have bought in Cambodia and they are not fake available in all pharmacies cheap.

No complaints of service, I treat the woman kindly and am generous so they generally return the favor. IMHO Its hard to find a sweeter girl than a Pinay for some GFE, but strictly based on looks I prefer Thai.
RE: Boracay, I speak with little or no authority on Boracay as I have only visited one time. HOWEVER, I regret NOT taking one of my AC honeys with me to Boracay falsely believing I could find something as good or better in Boracay big mistake.

I prefer to think I misunderstood something in my communications with my urologist as opposed to his being misinformed.
Online sources not apparently hosted by specific manufacturers report that effects from viagra last for about four hours, levitra and staxyn (approximately same medication as levitra in a different delivery form) last up to five or six hours, stendra (approved by FDA about a year ago) lasts up to six hours, and cialis may last up to 24 to 36 hours. All kick in after 15 minutes, give or take a few minutes. For me levitra seems to kick in at about 20 minutes, since I get a very brief headache then, which disappears within about two minutes.
I can only guess why my doctor recommended levitra: maybe they have given him more free samples, some of which he has passed on to me.
These same online sources report that sildenafil is the active ingredient in Andros, and that is the active ingredient in viagra. It is available in 25, 50, and 100 mg. tabs. Anybody have recommendations on dosage?

Nowadays, I usually get lengthy printouts every time I pickup my medications from the Pharmacy. Yes, ALL ED drugs should not be mixed with other nitrates etc and use caution while taking them. Plus, do read what it says on the packaging. I have know of people dying and others having a long term erection that they had to be taken to the hospital. These drugs cannot be abused.

Since this is in the AC thread it reminds me of my first trip to Phil and I actually spent 2-weeks in AC and only went in to a bar a couple times toward the end of my visit. I spent most of my time swimming in the pool, relaxing and meeting up with young non working girls who would come to my hotel. If the girl is staying then I pop a 50mg tab which will carry me through the night. 100mg is more than I need. I have based these dosages on the legal Pfizer pricing here in the west. AU70 for 4 x 100mg tabs.
When in Phils I pop a 50mg tab per night at the local price. My last trip to Phils I bought some of the indian brand Viagra. Was about P200 for 4 tabs from the shop. Cheaper than the dodgy stuff from the street guys.

I used to get 20mg of Levitra last I talked to Pharmacy, the equivalent may be 100mg as she said that I need so many of these. I guessed that the Pharmacy may only have 25mg and may be giving me 4 of them for one of 20mg Levitra. I did not take any as I still have enough Levitra but will know more next year. I think 50mg or100mg should work for most people, not any more.

I was going to suggest in my earlier reply that your doctor may have had a few free samples of Levitra and so he gave them to you but I don't know your doctor and such a cynical comment from me might impugn his professionalism so I just kept quiet.
It is sensible to buy Andros in the 100 mg boxes (5 pieces) and just break it in half, since they will charge you the same for the other strength tablets. I found that half a tab was plenty, so the keen mathematicians amongst our readers will quickly see that a 100 mg box of 5 tablets translates into 10 shots of 50 mg. As always, and doctors will tell you this too, just find your own comfort level. As LifeIAB says, he just chews off 25 mgm for his purposes.
As an aside, I actually haven't used Andros for almost a year now. I have some in reserve but don't seem to need much help since I started taking L-Arginine regularly.

Why you would go to the PI is beyond me after reading your lame opinions. The women I have encountered in Angeles City and else where in the PI are honest.

Best with the hotel is location and convenience.
Seen some other hotels nearby which looks also good: newly opened Penthouse hotel, hotel Royal Amsterdam, Grand Central. Kokomos also looks like a good choice.
Hotel is close to all but I was not really needed location. Had some girls to meet on facebook and other social sites. Made a list of aproximately 10 girls to meet. Ended up with 5-6. Others had a reason. Girls who met me was mostly demanding except 2 with better attitude.

It's about a 5 minute walk to the main strip and about 5 minutes to the perimeter bars as well. Nice friendly staff, rooms are clean and offer space. Not sure if all the rooms are like this but my rooms bathroom was hella cramped! Also, they were having some repairs done to a room next door and so the noise really irritated me during the day.

Can use main building which is very nice rooms, or annexe which is not quite so nice rooms but bit more private; both got security guards on the door who will call you for clearance when your girl wants to leave. Suits me.

I will be heading to AC from Makati during my stay next week. What is the best way to get there? How much should I expect to pay a cab driver if that is the way I go? I appreciate the insight.

I took a cab to the Swagman hotel and got on the Swagman bus, which takes you to your hotel in AC, cost around 600p as I recall, no need to book I would say, but you can find it online and check out times, about 4 trips a day I think. At a guess a cab would be around 2500 Makati to AC, but quicker of course.

I usually get there an hour early for breakfast. You're dropped off at Swaggy's in Manila. Another 600 php. Can't beat it for convenience. The cheap bastards will carry their luggage to a bus station, wait in the station, get off somewhere around AC and take a trike or a Jeepney.

First of all every country offers something different but to me being able to communicate relatively freely is a major factor. With that in mind it is the Philippines that wins. I would not agree with your assessment that the philippinas are necessarily skinny with no shape. In order of preference in the Philippines I like Angeles then Cebu and finally Manila. I have not been to Subic. If you choose Angeles then the choice of a hotel is very important. I happen to like the Clarkton which is a little way out but easy reach with the trikes for a couple of bucks if one does not use the free hotel bus. I like the quiet and to go to the noise. The rooms are good quality, the pool is great, the food excellent and Mirrors, their "bar' has a little more class with a good quality pool table. Others will prefer right down on the strip and the forum will give you plenty of advice. All night with a philippina is no problem and I think in travelling there about 15 times I have only had a single girl who wanted to do a runner. Massage is not a bargain in the Philippines.
Thailand offers more in terms of food, entertainment other than bars, but there is a still relative lack of English. The girls are far "harder" there these days and, as so many members say, the girls seem to prefer short time. Hotels go from slums to the pinnacle of luxury with a budget to suit all. Pattaya is more laid back and the prices are on the rise to match those of BKK. After I finish my Thai business in BKK I do tend to get down to the seaside. Phuket is interesting but there is an additional airfare to get there. However, further north at Kao Lak there are some great spots but I would take a girl with you if you go there. Kos Samui is a relaxing island in the Gulf of Thailand where girls are quite plentiful.

On the MNL to Cebu flight it showed up as a "Terminal Fee" on the receipt, but on the Cebu to Clark receipt it indicated the charge as a "Passenger Service Fee". Both times I was charged: 165. 18p.

Just returning from a week in AC staying with some non-mongers. It was a different week as I actually got some serious work done as well as had intelligent conversations with some of the high performing Phils staff and contractors. Certainly the conversation was a much higher quality than what I usually have with the bar girls and freelancers.
Highlights: First up had a visit to the Black Pearl BJ bar. From the moment I walked in had an incredibility enthusiastic plumpish girl (Mantriel?) hungry for my business. I chose her based on the slight plumpishness leading to plumper lips. In the room she was enthusiastic trooper and was doing everything that was required. Alaska has shut down and is being rebuilt with Korean money.Alaska moved up to Barrio Barretto. Same friendly owner and many of the same girls. They've never been the prettiest but it's always been a good bar, and still is.

Doing a week and a half in AC right now and have a bit of a quiet night so I thought I'd tell you about my first couple of days.
The first time I came here was waaaay back in 2004, so after a decade the changes have become very dramatic. But at the same time, a lot of the changes are just cosmetic without changing the substance.
The road construction on fields is a bit of a drag right now, but it shows how the money is being spent to "clean up" the area. The vendors even have vests that say what they're selling. Who woulda think that.
In the bars, the girl's have tags with their names on them. As far as I can tell, they are even their real names. Gone are the days of just numbers. And there's more modest dress. It used to be you'd walk into a bar and 100 girls would be on stage all with their tits hanging out. Now, they're all in bikini's or something even more understated. It's almost as if some law maker thinks we should be treating the girls more like 'humans'.
The price inflation is outrageous. 1500 pesos used to get you long time. Now, a lot of the bars on fields charge 3000 for their green tag girls. And I'm a bit picky, so I hardly even look at the lower priced girls.
But what's worse are the drink prices. 125 pesos for a SML? 300 for a lady drink? I make sure to always order a single now, so it's not so much damage. You might think it's not much, less than 8 dollars. But when you monger the way I used to, it really can add up. No more walking in and ordering 2 lady drinks for the waitress and the mamasan and then 4 or more for the dancers you bring to the table. Unless you like buying 8 dollar gatorades.
The hotel situation has improved greatly. I'm staying at the Pacific Breeze because it's familiar and a decent value, although not the cheapest by any stretch. But the staff is pretty friendly and I'm making good use of the pool and the gym, so I feel like I'm getting my money's worth for the location.
My last trip to AC, I stayed at the Lewis Grand, which was nice to splurge on, but was too far away from the action for my tastes. The new hotel Penthouse is doing a soft open. Not sure what their prices will be, but if it turns into a Lewis grand replacement right on fields, it might be the place to go. Devara has a good location and looks good for the price, I might try them out a couple days. There are also some swankier new places down the road south of fields.
The other really big change is all the Korean writing you'll see. My first trip, there were only a handful of restaurants with hangul, now it's everywhere. It's good for me, coming from seoul. Which leads me to my first barfine description.
I came in late on the direct flight from seoul which lands at midnight, so I was pretty late in the night by the time I got checked in and walking around. I ended up with the door girl from seastar for 2500. She had a stunning face and turned out later that she had a pretty awesome bod. Not the largest boobs in the world, but a solid handful. But the best part was that she spoke quite a bit of korean and took me to paradise club which is a Korean style KTV or norebang that will serve you food while you sing. The rate was 200 pesos per hour, probably higher than some other places off walking street. But we pounded soju and kimchee chigae, and she drained me a few times. All in all, an awesome way to start my trip. I'll probably have to get her a couple more times before I leave.
I was a bit more drunk on my second night and can't remember where I pulled the second girl from, but she was about 4'7" of stacked hiphop style bod. She had the biggest natural tits I'd ever seen on such a petite girl. All I remember was she was dancing on a bar full of 50 or so girls and was wearing this tight little lycra shirt that said "crew" on the back. In terms of other bars that look interesting, Dollhouse and Atlantis have a ton of girls, but they might be run by the same people as Club Asia, so be wary. Pony tails seems to be the best mix of low priced drinks and best looking women. Most of the other perimiter bars are not my taste in women at all. They might have one girl worth taking, but they go quickly. I'll probably be spending my afternoon hunting over their and next Wednesday too when they have happy hour all night.

the scams are same as before and include **** scam where the girl claim that she was under 18, abuse scam where the girl claim that she was hit by the foreigner and drug scam where the girl will implant a drug in your room or in your clothes. 90% of the girls that stand in front of street corners starting from kokomos restaurant all the way to 7-11 in front of the checkpoint jeepney station and it includes the girls in front of phillies, manson drugs and margarita station. following is a partial list of girls names that are confirmed to work with police according to my very reliable source.

Good trip report Blueseoul. I am looking forward to reading about your further adventures. Don't let that Club Asia girl sour you. It is not a good bar. You are not the only punter to be short changed by Club Asia girls in one way or another. The only runner I ever had came from Club Asia. In the bar all was good. The girl was very affectionate and playful. After I took her out of the bar we went over to Atlantis and Ponytails for a few drinks on the way back to my hotel. I thought everything was good, but it was on the way back to my hotel that my girl received her 1st phone call from a girlfriend purportedly asking where she was. I didn't think anything of it at the time. I had never been short changed before and I was looking forward to another good fun night with this little darling. In my room, the 1st round was OK and unrushed. The shag was nothing to write home about, but then again there was really nothing to complain about either. We engaged in the usual soapy shower, DFK, BBBJ, and multiple position bareback sex. Then as we were relaxing and watching some TV, she started getting more phone calls from her girlfriend. After the 4th call or so I began to get irritated by the intrusion and I got on the phone and told the girl friend to stop calling. But 20 minutes later, after the 5th call, my girl asked if she could leave and join her girl friend. I was pissed off by then and told her sure, if you want to go, then go. By that time the good vibes were gone and I actually wanted to be rid of this girl. In retrospect, I could have told her to turn off her cell phone after the 2nd call or even before we started playing around. I remember Westcoast giving this advice several years ago, but in all my times with Pinay bar girls I never needed to order them about. But, I have heard from other respected punters that they were played in much the same way I was at Club Asia. So I won't go to this bar again, ever. They do have some attractive girls, but they don't deserve my business. Personally, I don't think the problem is not just one or two or three rogue girls. I think the problem is systemic to that bar. There are too many complaints for it to be anything else. I strongly believe the Club Asia mama is aware of the problem girls and does nothing to correct the situation. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I know of other bars where the mamas actively manage their girls and see to it this kind of bull crap never occurs. I prefer to spend my money and my time in the good time bars and there are many in AC and Subic. To hell with the bad bars.

In terms of other bars that look interesting, Dollhouse and Atlantis have a ton of girls, but they might be run by the same people as Club Asia, so be wary. Pony tails seems to be the best mix of low priced drinks and best looking women. Most of the other perimiter bars are not my taste in women at all. They might have one girl worth taking, but they go quickly. I'll probably be spending my afternoon hunting over their and next Wednesday too when they have happy hour all night.You are correct. Dollhouse, Atlantis, Club Asia, Ponytails and I think Crystal Palace are owned by the same group. As well set out as they are, I tended to find the structure a little impersonal and overwhelming (maybe I'm just soft). And this group of vats seems to do the two different price structure thing where They nominally have 2000 peso girls but there's not many and most are below average, thereby compelling you to go for a 3k girl.

Just left The Philippines after 15 nights, four in AC, went to Subic for four nights and returned to AC for seven nights. My last trip was this past June and I did not see a big change, but several small changes.
Walking street (Fields) from Kokomos to McDonalds is closed for construction. They are putting rounds cement circles in the road, surrounded by small bricks, trying to make it a true walking street. But being the PI, it is totally fucked if you are trying to walk down Fields beyond Viking. Very hard to get thru the area.
My first four nights in AC I did not see a lot of beggars, ladyboys or Vigra salesmen, but when I returned from Subic. They were like ants.
This trip was even better then my June trip as I had planned to meet up with many friends from PI, US, Iraq, Korea and Afghanstain. While in Subic with a friend at Wiskey Dicks a Marine came in on his first visit to Subic since 1981. After bar hopping with him for three nights, I talked him into his first trip to AC. I don't know if you can remember your first AC trip (I barely can. 1987) but it sure was fun seeing AC thru his eyes.
With friends we hit a lot of bars and at different times and repeated, so my report in no particular order.
Lost In Asia: Duke and Greg always great hosts and the trivia night was a lot of fun. Lineup was very nice and girls love to play.
Roadies: Korean. And when I walked in, I felt a little out of place, but when the momma recognized me, things got better and the girls were friendly. Nice line up, but in an hour's time 12 to 15 Koreans came and went and I felt zero love, lots of stares.
LaBamba: seems to never change. Fun fun fun. A few old girls (as been dancing for years) and a few new girls added in. We went in every night (that we could get a seat, most of the time we had to return, as the bar was full) and never had a bad time.
Rhapsody: same as always, hit or miss. Line up was average, but I did take one for bible study my first night and she was my cryer for this trip (I love you Robb). Too much drama.
Voodoo: only visited once as I do not like the layout of the bar. If there are a few people around the big tables, there is no room to get thru and seems like always getting hit from behind.
OEW: visited a few times, missed that old OEW feel (pre-TI expansion)
Champagne: seems like this bar never changes. Nice lineup, but too much DLD pressure.
Muse (old LaPasha) : they should of named the bar "missing", as there was hardly any dancers and what they had dancing, had seen better days.
Q-Bar: I like this bar, but again seating sucks. We were there on Manic Monday and someone brought the OEW dancers in and they put on a show. Wow. Lineup is semi-good, a few lookers, but a lot of fillers.
Club Texas: fun bar where the girls are always dancing, not standing or doing AC shuffle. Lineup is good, few lookers, but lots of fillers.
Viking Bar: another bar with poor layout. We had some fun in here, but if you do not get a good seat, you are out of luck. Lineup was good.
Hollywood: one of my favorite bars this trip, as the Korean owner is nice (wants my money) and he does not mind a party. Lineup is very average, but good bar to have some fun.
Color Bar: needs to close. Girls sitting around and texting / smoking on stage.
Brown Sugar: bar has seen better days. Not many girls or customers, but they did have a guy in a tut-tut dancing around like a fairy, so we left.
Bunny Ranch: walked in and looked around, dead, turned around and left.
Roadhouse: good bar, lots of good looking girls and lots of fun.
Angelwitch: we went in a few times and most visits were okay. Lineup was not impressive, but normally the girls like to have fun.
Butterfly Rock: went in to meet the manager since he was posting on another site and had a good time. We went back four or five times and had fun. He is working on the lineup, but overall good environment.
Bar Hopping: bar has seen better days, but the girls were friendly and liked to play. Lineup was okay.
Pussycat Dolls: always get great service and loads of fun here. Lineup was good and the Bloody Mary's are awesome.
Owl's Nest: there were seven of us out bar hopping when we went in, so easy to get seated. First, no more old dog smell. Second few hotties on stage, but only two customers. We spent about 30 minutes and had some fun.
Nenesis (old Genesis) : bar has lost it edge. Before the stage was full of dancers and you had to wait for them to rotate around, not now. Not a lot of girls, but lots of attitude.
Old Fanasty (can't remember new name) : the door between the clubs is blocked, so you have to walk around. Went in and it felt like a funeral home. A few lookers, a few stage fillers.
Tight Jeans: went in once, turned around and left. Lineup was not good and bar seemed dead.
Monsoon (old Typhoon) : not a lot of hotties, but lots of stage fillers. Had some fun, but not like a few years ago.
Bodyshop: nice lineup but attitude is not the best.
Tropixs: bar is like always. DEAD. One of my least favorite bars. You are no where near the girls and every table filled with DLDs.
Valhalla: nice little bar, few cuties and few fillers.
Geckos: another bar that has lost its feel. A few years ago it was party central, but now more like quite time. A few hotties and nice to get afternoon bible study in.
Candy Bar: never changes, great place to meet up with friends and enjoy AC for what it is. Good lineup and lots of fun.
Night Moves: nice bar, but seating was not thought about during construction. Most table are built for two and when you are bar hopping with a few guys, it is hard to get seated. Nice lineup and easy to spend a few hours having fun.
Insomnia: Spent a couple of hours during "Country Night". Really enjoyed and had a lot of fun. Thanks for offering country music. Nice line up!
D'Club: went in a few times and good line up and fun girls.
Det5: I went in on my first four days and it was not even close to being anything worth while, but went back my last day. Wow. What a change. Ended up drinking too many beers and having a lot of fun. I made the mistake of taking the Tiger out for bar hopping and I only lasted two bars and she had to go. When she is sober, she is really sweet to talk too, but damm, after a few straight rum and vodkas she was out of control. Thanks to the bar manager (should remain nameless) for taking her off my hands. She did not have any panties on, (I found out later) was on her mems and dripping blood on the dance floor. Told me no one will take her serious. Haha. I asked her if she took herself serious, still waiting for an answer.
Shooters: a few party girls and a few fillers. Had some fun and the cherry boy found his future ex-wife. She loved him so much, on our last night she had tears, but she had to ask what his name was. Hahaha.
Fire (old T&A) : we headed down there after LIA trivia night. What a bar, not a lot of girls, but the girls are nice.
Ice: packed bar with guys drinking, but no girls with them. Lineup has seen better days.
Green Bottle Bar: I always wondered where dancers go to finish their careers. Found it.
New Generation: Korean. Wow! We walked in and there were 7 dancers. Three sitting on end of stage, two practicing dance moves off the stage by the cashier and two kicked back in a booth. We ordered a drink and started laughing, as they never moved. After five minutes a Korean walked in and took a seat, damm I have never seem girls get on stage so fast. I yelled out, oh I get it, you only want Korean. The Korean gave me a dirty look and I yelled the truth hurts?
I always knew bar hopping with friends make trips fun, but this trip seemed to be better. I bar hopped with 16 different friends, some I have know for years and a few I met on this trip.
I had zero issues finding bible study partners, zero runners and a great time.
If anyone is wondering if they should make a trip, don't delay. It is not the AC from years ago, but it is still more fun in the Philippines.
Funniest highlight of trip: Cherry boy walking into a bar at 2 am, smacking the stage and yelling "Who wants to fluck" and the stage filler said "me" and he said get dressed. :laugh: He said she was so happy that she ate two plates of food and did not want to leave his room.

When I am in town I walk back and forth from the Lewis to Walking street all the time and nobody ever bothers me. It is no big deal. Ignore them. Of course if you go looking for trouble, then you will probably find what you are looking for.
I traveled around Burma a few years back. I liked Mandalay, Bagan and Yangon. Absolutely no action in Mandalay or Bagan. Just temples. Yangon had some interesting places to find girls, but they were not even close to the quality you find in AC bars nor provided the ease of access. Punting there always presented little problems that needed to be overcome. I do not consider Yangon a primary sex destination. You just can't compare Yangon nightlife to AC, Subic, Makati or even Cebu nightlife and Burmese girls are not near as friendly or as sexually naughty as Pinays. To reiterate, AC is safe for all visiting punters as long as you exercise some common sense and don't do stupid things.

It has been said many times to stay away from SW and street hustlers. I think most people get in trouble by trying to save a few hundred pesos by going with SW and some get scammed. In my book they are not victims but volunteers. If you want to volunteer for trouble. Have at it. BF are reasonable price. No other place like AC.
Most Charlies here complain the newbies are jacking up the prices by tipping or over tipping. BS! Law of supply and demand along with inflation. It is to their advantage to not encourage newbies to visit if they want to keep prices down.

I don't spend as much time walking the stretch between Lewis Grand and Walking street but I do spend a fair amount of time on and around Walking Street. I don't get approached by SW's very often because I just don't see very many. There are enough ladybois hanging around the corner of Phillies Sports Bar and there are probably a few independents (SW's) in that bunch but it is easy to ignore them.
It seems like it is a moderately slow time and a few bars aren't seeing many customers (maybe because of the coming holidays.) I was in one of the bars last night on Fields and I was the only customer in there.
There are plenty of groups of Koreans making there way to the host of korean oriented bars up and down Walking Street and all the way out to the Perimeter bars.
The number of the perimeter bars seem to have a fair amount of local ex-pats as customers and have plenty of business.
Everywhere it certainly seems like it is business as usual. The La Pasha Group sold out (La Pasha = Club Muse; Typhoon = Monsoon; Carousel = Centauro; Genesis = Nemesis; Fantasy Fare = Club Equus) so, I am not sure that last years special holiday " upcharge" will apply with the new owners. Those clubs all charged an extra 1000 php on Christmas eve, Christmas, New Years Eve and New Years day. I won't be here this year for the holidays but New year's Eve is always amazing here for the volume of fireworks everywhere.

I got up to an early start today and headed over to ponytails around 2pm. Barfined a girl with a pretty nice body. But when I got her over to my table, I noticed she had a lot of acne scars on her cheeks. But she was still better than expected for the day shift. As expected, she only wanted short time, but we negotiated for four hours, which was good for three pops.
The problem with that, is I didn't have much mojo for the night. It's about 11pm, and I haven't barfined anyone since and don't really feel like it. But maybe I'll feel different in a couple hours. Good thing the bars are still lively right up until 3am. I had the monster mo's hamburger at kokomos and got to watch all the people pass by. There was some concert or other event going on so the foot traffic was especially high today.
After that I stopped in at Voodoo's, there were a couple of decent girls there, but as I said, I wasn't in the mood. The manager at voodoo was really nice and bought me a free drink. That's in stark contrast to the asshole at Atlantis.
I stopped in Zipper Stripper to buy my barfine from the other night a drink and kill some time. The owner there is a crazy drunk who likes to yell. That place really needs to be sold. The atmosphere and decor are horrible, and it doesn't help with the owner scaring away the customers. But there were at least three or four decent looking girls. My girl wanted me to barfine her cousin, and I probably would have if I hadn't already shot my load that afternoon. I might take them both tomorrow or sometime next week. Her cousin has milk because her kid is 3 months old, and so her knockers are rather impressive. But not tonight.
Instead I headed over to Atlantis to check out the show and see if any of the girls turned my head for some short time action. But the asshole mamasan and manager have a clock on every patron to see how much they drink. Apparently I was taking too long to choose a girl so they asked me to leave. I don't really have a problem with that, but it's a shitty thing to do to your customers and that guy had an attitude. So fuck him. Had he given me another 15 minutes, he might have had a barfine, now I'm never walking in there again. And that horse faced mamasan can go to hell too.

What's the level of risk of a set up from one of those girls?I am not aware of any dating sites girls working with the Police but the dating site girls have scams of different nature and mostly involve getting you to spend as much money as possible to wine and dine her, her friends and her family without having sex with you. Just stick to the girls in the bars, and you will be OK because the bar girls have a history and if something goes wrong, you can go back to the bar to find her.

1. Has anyone exchanged the new US$100 bills without any problems? I usually exchange at Natalia Hotel or Hypermart.For the most part, no issues with exchanging the new notes. The only problem I encountered was in Cebu, a couple of bills had "marks" on them (one had writing and another two had black marks; presumably from those "pens" that stores use to check authenticity) and the money changer refused to accept them. I later changed them at another place.
2. Anyone had any experience at KTV in AC? How does it work there? Can you do take out?Can't help you here, KTV's are not my cup of tea. But plenty of videoke places you can take a girl to.

There is something more striking and wrong about urban poverty versus rural poverty. Urban poverty is more in your face, dirtier, diseased, and more languid.

I was in AC for a week. First time there, but have been to other mongering destinations before, so knew the drill.
Took back a mix of waitresses, bargirls and dancers. Probably about 50% of them had kids. You can tell by the spongey skin. Intrigued by the cherry girl thing, and would buy the cherry girls a drink just to hear their stories.

Some of the younger ones were quite aggressive, they would grab at your arm or at your clothing which I've never encountered there before; in past visits they would usually fade away, or perhaps follow for only a few steps, after being told "No" or "Wala" (Tagalog for nothing). Anybody else encounter this?
One in particular, maybe some of you guys have seen and know which one I'm talking about, was a girl who looked like she was in her mid twenties, always had a baby slung on her hip and hung around mostly in front of "Angel's German Bakery" (who BTW has excellent baked goods / breads and a small seating area / café) , which is located down near ABC Hotel. i have a ton of questions about heading out to a. c. as a possibility to living there. i've mongered many times in costa rica and colombia (and lived there a bit as well) and now in thailand at the moment. i've always wanted to check out a. c, and while i understand that it is a big grungy there, i do see some expats living there. i love athletic girl types. like fitness competitor types, or the gymnast body hard body.
i have been emailing back and forth a poster in another expat forum (and he used to post at the h. a. forums too) and we got into a good email discussion on living in bangkok vs angeles city or basically thailand vs philippines. what is cool is that he likes the same girls that i like. i might head on over to angeles city in about two months from now and check it out.
i took much of his answers from his email and did a tiny bit of editing. with his permission (though he is not interesting in being a member here) i want to post this.
i asked him basically.
1. where is it cheaper to live?
2. is it hard to find athletic type girls, like having some muscle on their lower body, thick strong legs with a nice ass but with no bellies?
3. how are non pros vs pros.
4. is it easy to find a cheap place to live that is furnished (small studio) with ac that is less than $200 a month. he didn't go into this though.

i don't look at thailand vs philippines as to see which one is better. i see them what is the best possible option depending on circumstance.
for me it was the actual cost of living and my sex addiction that chose angeles over say bkk. yes, i am a sex addict at the age of 50.
this does not mean angeles city is better to live than bkk.
i tell my friends to live in bkk due to better infrastructure, cleaner streets, better food, safety, daily activities, etc. this is with the assumption you are pulling at least a grand per month in us dollars.
right now my income is roughly between $400 as a low to $650-$700 as a high. trying to live in bkk on $500-$550 / month is rather difficult.
throw in the factor for my sex addiction and it makes things that much harder.
i have heard people living on $600 a month in bkk but they are barely making it. i tried it and while i had a decent studio with aircon, food was pretty good, it was just no fun trying. i'm not even including the ridiculous visa runs which adds up the expense overall than say a. c.
in angeles city it's pretty easy to get by with $600 a month and have sex a few times a week with attractive girls. once you live in a. c. you know where to find the cheaper bar girls and have the patience to scope the beauties. also girls in a. c. aren't as sexually repressive as they are in many places in thailand and even bkk. obviously you can get a non-pro in bkk but the effort is much higher than a. c. i've had sex with many non-pros over the past couple years in a. c. when i was living in bkk, i did manage to get with a few non-pros but nowhere near the rate as a. c.

(or manilla) hands down. this is why in general i tend to recommend bkk over say a. c. it is true about a. c. it is dirty, smelly, noisy, polluted and the good food is hard to find. bkk or thailand in general is easier to accommodate to a guy coming from the western world. it ia also easier to set up shop. not hard to find monthly / 3 month contracts in bkk with aircon for a good price.
go to a 7-11 in bkk and go to a 7-11 anywhere in philippines and you will see what i mean.
most people lives are not centered around sex like mine. many people want 'normal' lives or one that is similar to where they lived in the west.
bkk has awesome shopping malls. just walking around for exercise and grabbing a smoothie is fun while scoping out thai girls.
i have adjusted to the seedy and ragginess of a. c. in other words, even though it look kinda ugly in general in comparison to many places in the world, i have gotten used to that and is now ingrained as just another day in reality. it does not bother me at all. as for food in a. c, once you live here for awhile, you know where to go for healthier options. there are bbq grills rep001tered around that grill seafood-chicken or whatever for you. go shopping and prepare your own meals.
at the end of the day, i do go to bkk every year since it has its own set of positives. it just that a. c. is my mainstay. and yes, i have visited other places in philippines, but i love the fact that i have the option of seeing over a thousand busty type girls in one night in my back pocket.
some people in the us live for work. some people live for work and sports (like nfl fanatics.) some people live for their children and family which is wonderful. some people live just to take it easy. i live for sex. the funny thing is that once i bang a girl i lose my interest in sex and i start think 'ahhh, sex is overrated, i should do something more with my life. i don't look at thailand vs philippines as to see which one is better. i see them what is the best possible option depending on circumstance.
for me it was the actual cost of living and my sex addiction that chose angeles over say bkk. yes, i am a sex addict at the age of 50.
this does not mean angeles city is better to live than bkk.
i tell my friends to live in bkk due to better infrastructure, cleaner streets, better food, safety, daily activities, etc. this is with the assumption you are pulling at least a grand per month in us dollars.
right now my income is roughly between $400 as a low to $650-$700 as a high. trying to live in bkk on $500-$550 / month is rather difficult.
throw in the factor for my sex addiction and it makes things that much harder.

$600 (24, 000pp) a month in AC? That would be tough, not impossible. You can rent a shit hole apt for as little as 2000pp, but it'd be 3rd world to the max.
A more reasonable price would be 7 8000pp and another 1500 2000 on top for water / electricity / internet / Cable TV. This price should get you hot water as well.
You would more than likely live out towards perimeter / Don juico ave (same street really) and would be a 10 minute jeep ride from fields or the SM shopping mall. If you want to be a cheap charlie, then 8pp jeepneys are for you. Living near a jeep route will save you $$. They run all night and day too. Trikes from fields to most places are 50 70pp if you are an experienced haggler. 100pp if you are not. And as much 200pp from fields to SM if you are Korean.
OK, so lets say you've now spent 9000 10, 000 on you pad. That leaves you with around 14, 000 15, 000 left. On fields a barfine or EWR or whatever its called these days goes for basically 2000pp so you'll very rarely be doing that! Out on perimeter the barfines are less, say 1500, but still pricey if you want to have action daily. You can short time on A-santos (blow row) with dingy room provided, for around 700 800. Same price for short time places behind Orchid Inn. At least at these places you don't have to buy a beer or buy one for the ladies. So let's say 800 a session. 10 sessions a month. You now have 7000 left to eat etc. That's 233pp a day! That will buy you the absolute bare minimum at the supermarket. Most bars charge 110pp now (125pp if you are at a dollhouse group bar!) so not much go-go drinking for you! And you will also need to buy load for your phone!
You can get street girls for 500pp, and you are by all means welcome to them! I wouldn't touch their dirty street asses! They hang out on A-Santos street just past Orchid resort 24/7. Although at night there are also ladyboys, if thats your thang!

Movies are cheap 70pp. A water-park, hooker bars, a shopping mall, hooker bars, no beach, hooker bars. You get the picture. Subic isn't too far away, but the beach is crap and the bars are. Well, in the end not too much difference from AC.
Bottom line is $600 for a sex addict is only enough for a spartan existence in AC.

People's tastes in food and living accommodations, which will be your two biggest expenses, are subjective. As I am contemplating getting some extensive dental work done there and would need to stay for a few months, I too looked into a few apartments to rent. I did find several in the Perimeter area and a few closer to Fields (off Narciso Ave) that were in the 5 to 8, 000p per month range. Some were shit holes, but a couple looked ok. If you go a little further away from Fields, say out around the Dau area or over near Friendship Plaza then the rents get a little cheaper, but these were in what could be considered "low income / tract home" type areas.
As for girls, plenty of them there to choose from who would meet your criteria. You can find bar girls and non-pros who would accept 400 to 500p for ST and even a few who'd stay a night or two for about the same; along with a few meals, net access, a hot shower and an air-conditioned bed room (especially during the rainy / slow season). On my last visit earlier this year, I had a "spotlight" girl from the Blue Nile (her BF there was 4, 300p) stay with me overnight on her days off for 1, 000p or come over in the daytime for a few hours for 500p (she fucked like a bunny and loved to play with the vibrator). You can stay up to 16 months renewing it as the schedule dictates. One of the renewals (either the second or third) is more expensive because you'll be issued the Alien Certificate of Registration, an ID. I recall this renewal being a bit north of p7000. The government website breaks down the renewal fees.
Another cost to consider is healthcare. I've long used Cigna International and it isn't cheap. You may chose to opt out of insurance, but if you require treatment you'll have to pay upfront. Need another test? Pay first. Yada yada. Your hospital visit may include numerous trips to the ATM and then the cashier. Meds are expensive, even if you have the flu, which I've picked up several times due to too much spit swapping.
Goyer, one rule I've always followed is to spend no more than 1/4 of my income on housing. Since your "income" is $600, or approx. P25, 800 at 43:1, you may not want to spend no more than p6300 per month on rent. And you'll be especially sensitive to FX risk.

My top 3 reasons I do not think $ 1000 us dollars is enough to stay long term in the Philippines.
1. Price of staying current on your Visa papers. Renew fees and travel out of country when necessary add up before you know it. Extra money will also be needed to pay bribes to cops or scammers that you might have to deal with.
2. No extra money to combat boredom in down times thru out the 4 weeks of a month till the next deposit comes. Guess you have to find a hobby other then sex and beer drinking that will not cost you that much. Girls cost tons before you know it.
3. Medical cost for emergency. Yes I know its cheap to get things done at the hospitial but if this happens your budget for the month is blown with only S1000 to work with. Getting meds that you need at masons also I don; t know if they have the ones I want. I putting my move on hold till I get 25000 savings back up money so that's 2-3 more years. I feel better with that back up money and a Unused CC to buy a escape plane ticket back to the states.
Don't bother coming or moving to Philippines on $600 a month. 15 years ago. Maybe?

At least that has been my experience in Thailand. Whenever I'm in one of those situations I just whip out my Thai license and be like mf I live here, not vacationing. Then the cops or taxi drivers or whoever apologize for trying to rip me off.
Like everyone is saying, you most definitely want to visit a place and stay away from the tourist area before deciding to live there. One downfall can be trying to live like you are on vacation when you are residing in a place. It's not the same. People who live in Orlando don't pay a visit to Disney World everyday. Your time will be short lived if you call yourself eating out and going to party and barfining every night. As much as I preached that to my cousin about Pattaya, he had to learn the hard way. He blew threw money that was supposed to last from April to August by the end of May. I think he started with $5000 and rent is only $150 / month.
In Pattaya there are always weekly scheduled activities with other expats, depending on your circle of friends and associates. On certain days every week we get together for bowling, pool, softball, dominoes, and the like. Every now and then there are big parties for people's birthdays and whatnot. The best thing to do would be to head over and meet up with some guys who live in AC. Tickets are cheap from Bangkok to Clark on Tiger Air. I was actually able to buy a ticket for $1 plus tax for my February trip. Generally expect to pay from $60-$100 each way though.
i also live in a small city in the south, and i agree totally with pimpin sam's post. but he does not reveal his monthly budget. like him, i don't drink and don't go to angeles city. i have costs for pharmaceuticals and dental work, but no hospitalization up to now. my monthly expenditures range between usa$1500 and $2000-and above when there is travel, as in visa runs. within that, my "entertainment" budget is $35 or about p1500 per day. i live near the water. in manila, my rent near the water would be more than double. no aircon, but internet / landline, power and water charges. i largely cook at home and do not skimp on imported food, ordinary items such as cheese. your number one concern should be personal security. for $600 you would live in a nipa hut or similar insecure place and get burglarized regularly.
whatever you do man, don't spend the money you have saved for your plane ticket home. i've heard of guys stuck all over thailand living like professional campers because they can't get home. allot of them just die, i've seen it. personally, i live in davao and i've never been to ac but on that kind of scratch, i'd rather live in a camper in the us. half way through the month when you run out of money, you're going to be having wet dreams about a taco bell. he is correct, western food is shitty for the most part and costs more than it does at home. anything you find in the imported section costs way more because of the duties and mark up. i've paid almost 4k a month for electricity using the aircon only at night. 500 or more for internet an the 1000 if you want it on your phone. a single vitamin c tablet costs 4 or 6 pesos and anytime you want to have anything shipped, freight is over 1k pesos and you probably get hit with a tariff that's more that the stuff you ordered. you want to breath diesel smoke and hear horns blowing anytime you are outside, the worst music imaginable, and all the hardships of living in a dysfunctional country without the only good benefit which is banging allot of hot girls, or having a hot gf? you want to be constantly trolling for the bottom of the barrel? i hope you don't drink much, unless you like tanduay. but an australian guy i was talking to that's lived here for 20 years told me he watched a bunch of his buddies "fall off the perch" drinking that shit. they die of liver failure, he consequently switched to the more expensive black label. i could spend $600 a month on beer, that's why i quit. what if the worst happens? some girl thinks you crossed her up, maybe because she expected more, and she brings the police to your dump and accuses you of [CodeWord123] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord123)? they haul you down to the police station and if you don't come up with a good lawyer, (or even if you do) , you are committed to the prison? again, i'm not an ac guy, but do you really think you are going to get enough hot body clean chicks with teeth for that cheap? i live on way way more than that, and i barely make it.
i'm not trying to talk you out of it, i'm just speaking from experience in my short time living here. i've tried thailand on a budget too and that sucks. like they said, it's allot nicer place to live and imo, a hell of allot safer but it's even worse trying to maintain hot pussy. bar girls / become girlfriends now are all bringing in 60, 000 baht and up a month. and the top shelf ones pull down way more than doctors. you're not going to get a nice province girl without speaking good thai and paying the family. any of them that are willing to air it out for a foreigner know how much that hot stuff is worth. trolls on walking street are 500 baht up and they're hideous for the most part. you better just give it a try for 6 months and make sure you got a way out.

During my September visit, I was having a beer in the Silver Dollar in Cebu when I got talking to a guy from California who now lived in Cebu. He was living on his social security check and he told me he could barely make ends meet. After rent and giving his live in girlfriend a housekeeping allowance to buy food etc, this guy had something like 1200-1300 pesos per day to spend. He budgeted and could afford one barfine a week only. He was mad at everything and everybody, especially the Filipinos, and the lack of money seemed to be the reason. What was funny was how the filipinas in the bar were able to deflect his nastiness and not let it become contagious.
I would imagine that the US Social Security check is what a lot of guys here are counting on to retire to the PI: about $2000 a month. I just don't see it being enough. The extra time on hand will probably lead to spending more whether on golf, girls, socializing, beer, or whatever. Also, you'll have to spend a decent amount on housing unless you want to live like the natives. Even though AC seems the cheapest location to live, I'm thinking that 3K-4K a month is what is needed on average, to be comfortable.

After settling down you will more likely live as local spending on only necessary things. You will find out where you can get things cheaper, where to get cheap pussy, where to go for cheap transportation etc.
More likely you will try to find a live in GF who does everything for for you including cleaning your pipes. And for that you will pay maybe little more than local wages.
You will learn not to " Live like a King " in your words. Living like a king draws undue attention to yourself and there are people looking to dethrone you.

I remember reading another story a few months back, somewhere here on the PI forum, about some retired expat guy who killed himself jumping off the balcony of an apartment.
Reminds me that we should all strive to work harder and live a life worth living.
And the Republican in me will say that $24k post-tax dollars a year seems like a lot. Social Security is supposed to be an end-of-life safety net, not a retirement plan. 24k is a just a little less than some teachers earn working full time. It doesn't make me happy that my social security taxes are going towards some guy's TLN.

The how-much-per-month topic is one near and dear to my heart; presently I'm 39 and I intend to retire at 41. The men on both sides of my family die young, so I've long planned an early retirement. I expect to have a retirement income of U$5000 per month. 2/3 of which comes from properties I own in 3 countries and the remainder will be earned from low-risk investments.
Firstly, and most importantly, is how diversified and risk sensitive is your retirement income? The plan is your foundation. In addition to covering your monthly expenses your retirement income ought to have a bit more to cover contingencies, emergencies, yada yada. If you own one property from which you collect rent your risk exposure is quite high. Anyway, I reckon most here are sensible enough to have planned things accordingly.
Most of the comments here on this topic are missing details so I figured I'll post my typical monthly expenses which I've kept track of for the past 15 months. I live in Makati, which is more expensive than AC or most any other place elsewhere, so this may not be entirely useful, but it'll give you an idea. I do not intend to retire in either metro Manila or AC; Davao is looking good.
I don't live like a king, but certainly I live very comfortably.
Rent: p25, 000 (this includes association fee, cable, and Internet. It's a 32sqm one-bedroom condo with common swimming pool, gym, etc.)
Electricity: p5000 (I run the A/C a lot)
Water: p400.
Load for phone: p250 (Smart's mega250 plan for 30-day unlimited SMS and 180 minutes of voice)
Drinking water: p1000 (I'm very stupid here, buying the 1l bottle rather than the 5-gallon jug)
Laundry: p1000 (I have a machine in my unit so I do my own, but I detest ironing)
Grocery: p14, 000 (there's a bit of imported food here)
Movies: p2500.
Dining out: p12, 000 (ex. two pulled pork BBQ sandwiches and 2 orders of Buffalo wings was p1000 the other night)
Weekend drinking out: p12, 000 (Most often I buy bottles of imported spirits, and it runs from p650 to p3000 depending on the venue)
Drinking at home: p5000 (wine, beer, etc.)
Transportation: p2500 (During the day and early evening I use jeep, bus, and rail. A taxi fare at night averages p100)
Coffee shop: p2000 (I'm a tea drinker but once or twice a week I find myself in a coffee shop)
Visa: p2000 (this is a monthly average, obviously I'm not paying for a visa every month)
Golf: p25, 000.
Squash: p2000
Misc.: p5000
I certainly could cut many of these expenses significantly. I haven't included health insurance costs.
Lastly, my monthly expenses would skyrocket if I was meeting girls in malls to have a coffee shop chit chat before bringing them home.

Don't forget if your income is in dollars, the USD hasn't tanked yet. I been enjoying what seems to be a 500 PHP a month increase. Wait till it falls out the bottom. Some of the biggest economies on earth have been making agreements secretly and not so secretly with each other to move away from using the US dollar in international trade. So there's a shift underway away from the US dollar as the world reserve currency. Furthermore, the economic policies that almost brought down the economy in '08 are still here. I'm planning on either getting fucked or having to work. I don't like either idea so I hope I'm wrong.
