I have said it before, but the simplest way to check flights into and out of Clark, or any other airport come to that, is to visit the airport's own web site and check the live arrivals or departures tab, this will show who flies into Clark, where from and how often. Singapore and Bangkok are commonest flights.
Without knowing your intended departure city, best suggestion is to look here for overview:

Suggeston would be to take non-stop to Hong Kong, from there a cheap and easy in to Clark.
Stopping in Guam, Tokyo, Seoul, that sounds like something for people knocking themselves out trying to save every cent they can regardless.

I have been having some crazy adventures, but overall I have fallen in love with the Phils!

I will be traveling to Angeles City in May, I went there for the first time last year. I didn't care for the drive thru all the traffic in Manilla. Do most travelers from the US that are just going to Angeles City go by way of Manilla or do the majority land at Clark International. I read that the immigration officials at Clark are really bad. Don't forget that if you fly with one of the national airlines (to BKK or HKG) with a view to getting a low cost onbound flight, you will need to collect your luggage and check back in for the low cost flight.

What I liked about all those places, it's more quiet and particularly could one have a go on their premises. One didn't have to go all the way back to the hotel. And most of those girls I rather don't want to have in my room anyway. More advantages yet, in case the girl didn't perform that well, not much time was lost and one could pick another one right away. I like several shots a day and that turned out to be another advantage. Also hanging around there and having a drink was nicer, less stressful and having a chat with one or the other was sometimes funny. I missed this completely this time. Three bars in Raymond St. Closed, the one that is open has only two or three girls, Shadows closed, Matrix Brawn closed, the two remaining bars around Garfield's have risen their prices for short times from 800 to 1300, which is insane, and the worst of all, one cannot have a go on their premises anymore. I tried "hard" during these almost three days, but found I'd only lose time as I've got 18 days all in all and therefore spend the rest here in Pattaya. I wanted to share my thoughts about that hope that changes will come. Otherwise I definitely have to search for other destinations besides Thailand and Kenya.

I'm heading to Thailand myself but taking a side trip to AC while there. Neither my wingman or I like big bars. However he thinks we should monger in AC for like a week and less time on the beach road in Pattaya. He hasnt been to AC in 12 years but thinks we will find tons of smaller bars or freelancers in AC. I'll be using your post as ammunition to keep our AC trip short. .
BTW if you want a quieter scene besides Thailand and Kenya (didn't even know they were a good mongering spot) try Sosua Dominican Republic.
I have been there a million times. Its a one road town for the most part and very quiet. I think you will enjoy it.

I'm looking at her for like ten minutes. She doesn't bother to look around. Like all newbies, they're not there because they want to be. Now she's on the stage. She's not the tallest girl, but taller than the average Filipina, and on the skinny side. She's not looking at any of the customers. She's not smiling either. She's just looking straight ahead. You can't make money like that, girl. You need to bola-bola the customers, I say to myself. I think about calling her, but something tells me that I shouldn't. She looks emotionally detached. I leave the bar.
The next day I'm gone.

This time I'm in AC for six days. I didn't forget about Angel. But it's not really my goal to spend any time with her. I end up in La Pasha. I think it's called The Muse now, or something like that. This girl on the stage won't stop smiling at me. She really wants to be with me. She really wants to go out with me. She really wants to do me. That's what I like. So I barfine her. She leaves in the morning and comes back to my hotel at 2 pm. I end up barfining her every day of the trip.
On Day 3 of this trip, I feel the urge to visit Angel. So I go to her bar. I notice her on the stage. How a month's time makes a difference. Same in Manila. Its common for Filipinos to have nicknames amongst their friends eg Jing amongst girls, Bong amongst boys etc but I've never heard those fake sounding 'Working' names mentioned.
AVLovely is a common real name there, funny none the less as it doubles as a suitable stripper name.

On the first day, I head straight to Angel's bar. But I cannot find her. What the hell. I don't bother to ask anyone. She must have quit I say to myself. I'm not planning to barfine her anyway. I actually brought her the t-shirt she asked for. I go to La Pasha to get the same girl. This trip is fun, so I kind of forget about Angel. On my last day, I decide to give it one more try. I actually hope she's not there. I don't want to go back to the hotel to get the t-shirt I promised her. I go inside the bar. I don't see her again. After about 20 minutes, as I'm about to pay my bill, I see her coming out of the dressing room. She doesn't see me. I look away as if I didn't see her. Then, I hear a loud 'Hey'. I look up and it's Angel smiling and waving at me. So she does show some emotions after all. I call her over and she seems genuinely happy to see me again. Of course, she didn't forget about the t-shirt. I tell her it's in my hotel. Other girls would tell me to go get it right now. Angel doesn't. It's my last night, so I go back to the hotel to get the t-shirt anyway. Fortunately, my hotel isn't far. I actually got her two t-shirts. She seems to love them. Now, this is where she should say that she wants to go out with me. But she still doesn't. I wasn't planning to take her out also because another girl was waiting for me at Texas bar. Angel tells me she's planning to quit in two weeks. She even cites the exact date. I ask her what she's planning to do next. She says she may look for a job as a saleslady. For me, a saleslady is someone in her forties with two or three kids. But I guess there are no decent jobs in the Philippines, especially if you don't have a good education.

Hit Boulevard Mansion hotel in Manilla and unpacked for a quick night before heading to Angelas city. Immediately went to La Cafe (MBC) and was shocked to see just as many guys as girls. I hung around outside checking out the SW but saw just as many ladyboys as girls. Decided to save my money for AC and not play a guessing game in Manilla. Also there was some sort of Christian day parade where everyone wore white "Walk for iglesia" shirts.
Mr E arrived and we caught a taxi from the hotel to the bus station (150p each). Then we caught the bus to AC (150p). What should have been a 2 hour bus ride turned into 4 hours as the bus made 3 stops. The drivers even let the street vendors on to try and sell us shit. We got two trikes at the AC bus station (80p) and off we were to dodge the traffic. With me and Mr E its a good cop, bad cop situation with me playing good cop and him playing bad cop. We are complete opposites as far as chasing women. He is Mr Hardcore where I'm more fair and negotiable. Where we mesh is that we respect each other as fellow travelers helping each other. Also having a hardcore wingman can terminate all the bullshit from the street hustlers. When they run the bs game its hilarious to watch, hustler vs hustler. I was willing to pay the trikes 100p for the ride to AC but Mr E wouldn't let me and debated with the guy that it is 50p ride. Eventually the two hustlers (Mr E and the trike guy) both reluctantly agreed to 80p each for the ride. The negative about this is that some girls get turned off by his hardcore ways and ask me why a nice guy like me hangs with him. I ask the girl" Why are you talking about some other dude when I'm here trying to get you attention". I never entertain conversations about other dudes with girls so why would I do it with my wingman? He has never stopped me from getting girls and I have never stopped him, each person has their own style.
But anyway, back to the hunt. I check into my hotel (more on this after I leave) and we hit the strip for a warmup. We go to Philly for a steak, mashed potatoes, veggies and garlic bread (600p each). Then we hit "Black Pearl" and take advantage of 50p rum and cokes while we talk to the brothers hanging out. After 4 drinks each we take a walk around and agree to meet at "High Society" at midnight. I was surprised at the copy cat attempt they made to duplicate "Walking street" in Thailand.
I hit HS at 11pm and it was nice but I decided at 12; 30 to leave when Mr E hadn't arrived. My game plan was to scout the outter bars for some hidden gems. I found "Spinners" and enjoyed the show of about 30 women. The women seemed bored but that didn't bother me, I was happy to just be on vacation.
Being a regular DR guy has me used to just making eye contact and usually getting laid, its that easy. But Asian women like to be approached so I know eventually I'm going to have to step up my game and go on offense. I'm in "Stalker mode" now as I'm prowling for something worth taking a shot at. I see one girl outside "Vodoo" but she doesn't acknowledge me in any way as I pass. I turn and slowly walk fast to catch her but I fade to a flank pattern to make it seem I wasnt chasing her. I walk up to her from the side hoping one thing; that she speaks English. I was so caught up in my good guy role that I forgot to ask "how much?" as we walked to the hotel. The sex was mechanical as she didn't know if I was for real with my motives and I just wanted to get that first nut after 24 hours of flying and a boring night in Manilla. Mission accomplised and I was back in HS a few hours after I left, just glad to have my first fuck out of the way.

Now it makes sense. I pulled a little babe out of Ayala Mall last year and her name was Irish. I thought, how in the hell did she get a name like that.

Filipinos usually have a Spanish surname (family name). But it is more complex than that. They often have multiple Spanish names. Often the mother's family name is given as a Christian (given) name to some of the children. For example, my 3rd wife's mother had the family name Esperancilla, so my wife was handed the second given name of Esperancilla. So some Filipinos have 2 or even 3 Spanish names in their given and family name.
When they are young (often at or before birth), Filipino are given a "pet" name by the family, which is usually of English language origin. This name sticks for the rest of their lives. It is a bit bizarre to be calling a 70 year old "Junior" or "Boy"! Sometimes even these pet names are corrupted (as we often do in the west). And then, when they are in school, the person may even be called a different pet name by their best friend.
There are also nicknames which are corruptions of real names. for example, Manoy is a corruption of Manuel, and Silya is a corruption in Cecilia (and don't ask me how Sinang is a corruption of Rosalina!). Apparently, some parents even forget their childrens' real given names!
So, there are family names, given names, nicknames and pet names!
My ex-wife that I mentioned actually had a Spanish family name, 2 Spanish given names and a nickname. Plus 3 different pet names (b**** being the latest that I gave her. LOL)!

Hit Boulevard Mansion hotel in Manilla and unpacked for a quick night before heading to Angelas city. Immediately went to La Cafe (MBC) and was shocked to see just as many guys as girls. I hung around outside checking out the SW but saw just as many ladyboys as girls. Decided to save my money for AC and not play a guessing game in Manilla. Also there was some sort of Christian day parade where everyone wore white "Walk for iglesia" shirts.
Mr E arrived and we caught a taxi from the hotel to the bus station (150p each). Then we caught the bus to AC (150p). What should have been a 2 hour bus ride turned into 4 hours as the bus made 3 stops. The drivers even let the street vendors on to try and sell us shit. We got two trikes at the AC bus station (80p) and off we were to dodge the traffic. With me and Mr E its a good cop, bad cop situation with me playing good cop and him playing bad cop. We are complete opposites as far as chasing women. He is Mr Hardcore where I'm more fair and negotiable. Where we mesh is that we respect each other as fellow travelers helping each other. Also having a hardcore wingman can terminate all the bullshit from the street hustlers. When they run the bs game its hilarious to watch, hustler vs hustler. I was willing to pay the trikes 100p for the ride to AC but Mr E wouldn't let me and debated with the guy that it is 50p ride. Eventually the two hustlers (Mr E and the trike guy) both reluctantly agreed to 80p each for the ride. The negative about this is that some girls get turned off by his hardcore ways and ask me why a nice guy like me hangs with him. I ask the girl" Why are you talking about some other dude when I'm here trying to get you attention". I never entertain conversations about other dudes with girls so why would I do it with my wingman? He has never stopped me from getting girls and I have never stopped him, each person has their own style.
But anyway, back to the hunt. I check into my hotel (more on this after I leave) and we hit the strip for a warmup. We go to Philly for a steak, mashed potatoes, veggies and garlic bread (600p each). Then we hit "Black Pearl" and take advantage of 50p rum and cokes while we talk to the brothers hanging out. After 4 drinks each we take a walk around and agree to meet at "High Society" at midnight. I was surprised at the copy cat attempt they made to duplicate "Walking street" in Thailand.
I hit HS at 11pm and it was nice but I decided at 12; 30 to leave when Mr E hadn't arrived. My game plan was to scout the outter bars for some hidden gems. I found "Spinners" and enjoyed the show of about 30 women. The women seemed bored but that didn't bother me, I was happy to just be on vacation.
Being a regular DR guy has me used to just making eye contact and usually getting laid, its that easy. But Asian women like to be approached so I know eventually I'm going to have to step up my game and go on offense. I'm in "Stalker mode" now as I'm prowling for something worth taking a shot at. Mission accomplised and I was back in HS a few hours after I left, just glad to have my first fuck out of the way.

Neither of us had less than a 100 peso bill and the guy didn't have any change. They let us ride for the 5 each we had already given them.

I want to say that Nemesis was closed the night after the raid but open the following night, which was 2 nights ago. On opening night, there were 6 girls on stage.

I awake for my first full day in AC with a morning run and walk to witness the city awakening also. There is nothing like the morning air and watching the locals start their daily rituals. I return to the hotel at 9am for the free breakfast (I love this hotel, more on that later) of fish, eggs, rice and tea. I try to take a morning nap but my mind is restless so I go for a walk (I'm a walking fool).
At noon I'm at "Black Pearl" hanging out with the morning crew when suddenly I see this beautiful girl walk by. I said to myself if she walks by again that I would take my shot. An hour later she is walking by the spot I'm still at but their is a guy that beat me to the spot, damn. She doesn't give him any play, so I figured that I was in for a quick rejection. As he faded down the street I walked up and introduced myself and said I was shy and don't usually talk to stranges but something made me want to just introduce myself. She smiled and started to walk off after giving me her name (lets call her Amy). I asked if I would ever see her again and she said she doesn't talk to many foreigners. She said she worked at a certain place (can't give the name and risk exposing her and Gogo) and I could stop by. Before she walks off I ask her what my name is? And she gets a confused look on her face. She feels guilty and asks for my name again and I give it to her again. Then sfter I gave her my name she said something weird. She said" Can I go now Sir". This would add up later.
I bump into Mr E on the strip and we go to the Chinese place on Mac Author (sp). Later that night I head to the place where Amy works. I look totally different now. Before I had on gym gear and a hat, now I was clean shaven and stylish. I slide in and check the lineup for her but I don't see her. Actually I was happy because this place had a great lineup and I was getting good looks. A girl was talking to me and Amy had figured out who I was even though I hadn't figured out who she was as she looked completely different. Before she was just a sexy girl going for a walk to get some ice cream, now she was a star working the night. She slid next to me after I realized who she was and I brought her a drink for 165p. The other girls were coming up hitting on me with Amy sitting next to me. Amy explained that she was brand new and haven't been barfined yet (yeah, right). The barfine was 2000p and the bartender and mamasaan huddled up in a secret mission alert. The waitress slid in next to me and told me to let Amy get dressed and meet her outside in 15 minutes. I felt like I had entered a spy movie but with all the crackdowns lately maybe its best to be over cautious.
I leave and Amy is waiting and grabs my arm and we walk away. Damn guys, Mr E just texted me and said he is in the lobby so I will finish this later.

After 21 days, and just under 40 women I am heading back to China. Total cost including my flight, hotel, bike rental is about $2500 so a little over 5000pesos a day, pretty damn cheap for how I lived spending an average of 2500 a day on hotels and over a 1000 a day on food. Girls cost me an average of about 300 pesos a pop, but my LT's average 5 pops up to 7.

You do not need a trike if you stay within walking distance of field and if you do not go to outer bars at night.
Always pre negotiate the fare before you get in. Make sure you have the right change. Otherwise he will say he has no change even when he does.
Even if you have a local girl with you most girls do not say anything. But I Have seen some girls who argue if the charge was too high.

I have in the past when I didn't want to be smothered w / other passengers. You can tell a jeepney driver you will buy all the seats. Or if there are people in and you don't want any more. The remaining seats. And they will only charge the 8 peso's for each seat.
I have done this a few times. And you have the entire jeepney to yourself or with 2 or 3 other passengers for like 100p to 150p tops.
I have even bought all the seats for the entire jeepney to go downtown AC. From McDonalds to Downtown. Just 3 people for 150p. The entire Jeepney.
I wouldn't try it at checkpoint though. Since there are so many people there and people may get a bit angry at you for taking the entire jeepney. But catch one along the street. Empty or close to empty. And they will always let you buy out the remaining seats. Its about the money to them.

If street hunting for girls is your style, by all means go for it, but in AC I will recommend doing it in doors (in a bar). You ended up with a mediocre experience, thats ok, but what about the price?
2000 for ST is too much! It's your money and you decide, but read this: A bar girl normally gets a bit less than half of the BF, so she gets something between 750 and 1500. I don't think freelancing should be more. Anyway this shows that freelancing instead of bars don't give lower prices as some people (fans of HiSo) say.

They are hardcore in both trikes and taxis. They typically want p50 to go out 1/8 mile, and anything farther than that they want p100. It was raining lightly one day when I was in AC last. A bunch of trike drivers sit across the street from Kokomo's in their trikes."Trike sir?" Ya, can you take me up to MacAurthur to McDonalds?"Yes sir." Veinte peso?"Fifty sir." I started to walk away, as I had my umbrella. I turned back around and said to the lot of them: 30 pesos to take me to McDonalds. Nobody was interested, so off I walked. Its a 2 minute walk. The trike mafia still rules. Anywhere else in phils that would run p10 (8 in the province, and the driver is glad to have it).
On my maiden voyage to AC many years ago, I made a reservation at Swiss Hotel, and made arrangements for the hotel to send a car / driver to pick me up at NAIA. My flight arrived at 3am, and by 4am we were in the car. We stopped for chow on the highway and by 6am he was dropping me in front of (or right next to) Dollhouse / Atlantis. There is a hotel upstairs and he gave my luggage to the door security guy. I asked what hotel this was, as it was not Swiss Hotel. The driver explained that Swiss was overbooked and had no room for me at the time, and made alternate arrangements with this hotel. I would be there only a few hours he said, till noon, and then transfer to Swiss. Off he went. The security guy carried my luggage upstairs. The girl at the counter checked me in at no charge and reminded me that I would be xferring later. I napped till about noon and checked out. The same door guy carried my luggage downstairs to the street, then took up his position at the door. I asked him how I was supposed to get to Swiss Hotel? I was standing on Fields in broad daylight, having no idea that I was 2 blocks from Swiss Hotel."You walk sir. This way." He pointed up Fields. I've never paid more then 1K for a FL in AC; more often then not it's 500 to 700p. A few have requested a 2K or better donation for ST and I would simply tell them " No thanks, why should I give you that much when I can go to Raymond or Santos St and get a girl for LT for about 1, 400?" Every one of them has then agreed to go with me. I think they just try to get more whenever they can and you can't blame them for trying. Worst case is they walk away, no big deal for me, their loss as far I'm concerned and it's not like there's a shortage of willing girls in AC. I've seen some of the guys there get so enthralled with a girl that they're willing to do or pay just about anything to have them. The more experienced girls know that and they'll certainly take advantage of the situation; again, you can't blame them. I've found if you act like she's nothing special then she'll tend to be more attracted to you and be more open to negotiation. Thanks for the post. I've already paid three barfines so I don't think I'm being cheap. All three have text me late at night when they get off work asking me "where are you? I want to see you". Two have never asked for money after we hooked up but I put some money in their purse anyway (is that being cheap?). This is a very acute observation of Pinays.

I think the not educable characterization is more of an open question. Access is a serious issue for poor Filipinos, as is the quality of instruction in public schools.
Even in ostensibly free public schools, there are many expenses that poor families cannot afford: uniforms, including dress shoes, slacks, shirts, blouses, and skirts of specific color and fit; writing paper, pens, pencils, erasers; take-home assignments that require materials that poor families do not have just lying around; special topic books that are sometimes not provided and must be purchased at National Book Store, for example; lunch or snacks purchased at school because the school is too far from home to walk home for lunch; in some cases, jeepney or tricycle fare to and from school. Most ISG member get around AC on Jeepney 12 peso or trike 50 peso on short trip, if you want to hire a ABC private car it will cost you alot of money, I am not sure where do you want to go in AC there are not many place of interest you can walk to the SM mall and the casino, ABC is a nice hotel the best and the most expensive in AC right now.

There actually has been about 1 raid a week. Equius formerly Fantasy was raided tonight. A jeepney load of girls taken away.

I don't think the point of this site is to find cheap or free sex. Its purpose is to help us navigate around the world for sex. Scams are rampant in all of the Philippines you have to be strong of mind and pay attention. If you are weak they will target you. Hey all. Its my first time to AC and I have done my research on fields ave and the bars there. I have heard some not so cool stories about possible scams from free lancers. But cartels usually occur when there is a limited number of competitors. The competitors use the limited market to create price-fixing agreements, agreements about access to various clientele, output numbers, and so on. I am not an AC patron, but from reports in this thread two features of the scene stick out as problematic for the cartel characterization. First, various maps and reports that have been provided over the years suggest there is a very large number of competitors. Second, various field reports suggest that the barfines (or whatever they're called now) vary considerably across the range of establishments. The large number of establishments would seem to work against cartel-like price-fixing.
I'd suggest that the practices reflect characteristics that are relative to the Philippines rather than to cartel structures. First, the women are at the mercy of the establishments, but in a country with high unemployment and many minimally educated people, employers set the conditions of employment in almost all workplaces.
Second, while there are some exceptions with particularly successful business owners in the Philippines, mimicry appears to trump innovation among startup businesses. In Western countries businesses typically seek out locations that are devoid of competitors-with some exceptions, such as Walmart's locating stores close to locally-owned competitors in order to put the locals out of business when they can't compete on prices. In the Philippines, a whole line of similar businesses will set up adjacent to virtually identical businesses. So you'll see a whole line of sari-sari stores together, rather than any one showing the ingenuity to locate where there aren't competitors. Go to GreenHills shopping center and there are hundreds of pearl vendors under one roof. Go to Divisoria and find a series of buildings with hundreds of small stalls selling similar kinds of shoes and clothing. Likewise with informal vendors clustered around the streets near Monumento and other crossroads.
In a recent hotel review I described a string of seven eateries in a row selling virtually the same set of Filipino dishes. All had serving lines set up out by the sidewalk, and food was served out of chafing dishes (more or less) with slow-moving fans to stir up the flies buzzing around. I suggested to my squeeze that individual businesses would be better off to move out to some locations that lacked competition. She explained that having them all together draws in customers who will know what to expect (as in Divisoria or GreenHills) and then customers can figure out which particular business to patronize.
So maybe AC is built on a similar model. And customers do flock to AC because of the vast set of choices. Do the owners talk about prices? Maybe, but then there are various reports here about a particular establishment that has just raised its prices. Isn't it likely the others adjust prices in a pattern of mimicry rather than cartel? And whether they are a cartel or quasi-cartel, I feel a punter ought not be influenced, let alone governed, by their price fixing once outside their doors.

Just a no-particular-reason update. I visited AC in mid-February and went to my regular A Santos blow-row bar. The bar next door was one of the ones raided, so they've closed their upstairs rooms. Not a huge problem: They just walk you down to the short-time hotel a couple blocks south. 200 pesos for the room, which adds about 30% to the cost, but the room, while still dingy, is light years better than the old upstairs closet.
I'm not sure how much being a somewhat long-term regular affected the transaction, that is, whether they would have been more circumspect in dealing with me if they did not know me. By the same token, the walk to the short-time would have been a lot scarier for me had I been a first-timer: It is dark and not the best part of town.
