So, I was quite shocked to find out that a lot of Filipino's here tell me I look Filipino. Now I am of Asian decent, but I never got this reaction when I was in Thailand. Most of the ladies there were able to correctly or come very close to getting my race right. This has pros and con's. Bums and the like don't try to sell my watches and stuff on the street. And as long as I don't open my mouth vendors don't quote me high prices. I just point to what I want. The down side is I don't get the "sexy man" cat calls or offers as I walk down the street. Every guy likes his ego fanned a little. Plus sometimes you just aren't sure if that girl standing around is offering services or waiting for a friend.And sometimes you're not sure if its a girl either. Stay away from anything on the street, including the people.
I make an average of 1 trip per year, I keep a low profile, I don't tip like the Koreans, who treat the PHP like they xeroxed it. I walk into a restaurant I haven't visited for a year, not only do the waitresses recognize me, they remember my name. On my last trip, at Lewis Grand (where I had not stayed for 2 years +) the receptionist even remembers me. Scary.
I haven't made any contributions in the last 3 trips as there was not much to report. My last girl from Love & Music became my regular (not a girlfriend variety supported via Western Union) . Observations.

The Penthouse.
I decided to stay at The Penthouse, very central. I get the 10th floor and I can see the windows are double glazed, even the ones by the stairs. However I can still hear the jackhammer on the Central Park complex next door but it is not too loud. A couple of annoying features, the room has no desk and only one chair, this makes in room dining difficult. Bathroom floor by the shower is constantly wet from flooding due to raised marble positioned in the wrong place creating a mini dam trapping water. I find the Lewis Grand menu more to my taste, but the beds here are much softer yet firm and the duvets have better weight. The glass bathroom gives it the spacious look, the top pool deck gets more sun than ABC, where good ice blended margheritas can be had. The views are stunning, of course there is not much to see, Mt. Pinatubo sure looks closer on a fine day.
Day 1.
Upon arrival at night (managed to convert more PHP after midnight) I head over to Nemesis. I find Mary Anne again. She recognizes me and off we went.
Day 2.
Next morning after she leaves, I head over to Pony Tails. The waitress remembers me from a previous visit where I took out another waitress the last time, with a pierce tongue after she performs on a LD I bought called Fellatio. She was not the best looking, but more than made up on the service. She enjoy her session with me so much, I thought in the end, she should have tipped me instead. That night I head back to Nemesis and was told Mary Anne's day off. Waitress asks why I like her, I tell her about the tongue stud. She works hard, and ask around, who else has a tongue stud. Day 5.
Back at Pony Tails and then spot Lyn (from Day 3), this time I am pretty sure it is her but she is dressed in civvies and is next to another Korean, I figured she has already been EWR. Pinatubo is to the West, but probably not visible unless you really know what you are looking for. I've climbed up to the caldera of Pinatubo, swam in it. It was an easy hike, and well worth the pesos and effort. Don't go during rainy season.
A good video from the US military and volcanologists reaction back in 1991 is on Youtube. There are also a lot of good pictures at Margarita Station. My hike pics pale in comparison to these.

Your thread and this discussion of worldwide mongering destinations has a lot to do with Angeles city. Given that over the course of the last few years mongers have been trying to put the death nail into Angeles city because of all these bar raids and the changes that the city is going thru. The increase in BF prices the diffrent methods the bars are using for BFs the Korean takeover. And on and on and on. It still seems to be up there has the number 1 budget mongering spot in the world even given all its been thru. Only Pattaya seems to be its equal. Discussing other options only gives others a opportunity to introduce us AC lovers a possible better alternative. So far I have not heard of anyone naming that option beside Pattaya for PURE RAW MONGERING VALUE! ANYONE care to try?? From my forty odd years of pursuing this hobby I have seen many changes in mongering destinations, some places that used to be good are no longer so. However, I have observed that Colombia has maintained a good standard over the years in terms of quality of chicas, cheap prices and stellar service. I would recommend Medellin, Bogota, Cali or Cartagena as suitable alternatives to Angeles City. Jakarta, Indonesia is also a credible alternative. I have been going to Tijuana, Mexico for over thirty years now and it is still an enjoyable getaway. For those who can afford to pay a little more there is always San Jose, Costa Rica and Panama City, Panama. In p 4 p you just need to know how much to pay; if you have a cell phone they can type the numbers for you, if you don't they will type it on their cell phone. I have also met WGs in Malaysia that will not go with South Asians (or Africans).The same MO is used in the UAE (Dubai / Abu Dhabi) and many girls there say the same. Det 5. Quite busy last night. It looked like the flow over of the night before where they had a birthday party for the owner or manager. Finally remembered the name of the bar, Ice Bar. Kind of a weird set up for the dancing stage. It appears to be on the same level as the main floor, the dance area looks to be a corralled in area. The girls line up 3 deep with 5 girls up front. One of the best looking line up of any perimeter bars I have seen. I thought this may go well for me here but not! There isn't any chairs or bar stools in front of the girls dancing so I went up front to ask them a few vetting questions. No less than 5 seconds there the manager or owner was there telling me I couldn't talk to the girls and I needed to sit down and buy a drink and I would also need to buy a girl a drink before I could talk to her.
This really irritated me but as I said before, they had a very nice looking lineup so I thought don't walk out yet. Sit down and have a drink, which I did. I did call a bg over for a drink. She wanted a double, a red flag went up and I told her a single or back to the corral. She was nice but the red flag was up, I asked her about LT and she said she is only ST. I asked her if she knew who did LT and she really didn't know as she had only been there a week. She asked me if it was ok to call the mamasan over as she would surely know who does LT. I said great. I disagree with the above staement. The girls do not expect a tip unless they are spoiled and thus have a bad attitude. The girls do not deserve a tip unless they earned it and they know when they earned it. The tip in this type of transaction is at the discretion of the customer. These girls act as independent sexual contractors not waitresses. They do not have to serve all bar customers. They have the right of refusal. When an arrangement is worked out between a provider and a customer; it is all inclusive. Sometimes a tip is mentioned beforehand in the negotiations. If it is then it becomes a separate part of the negotiated transaction that goes straight to her. Call the transaction a barfine or an EWR or anything you want. Pay it to the bar before leaving or pay afterward to the girl. It is still the same thing. This has been the state of affairs in AC as long as I have been visiting. So if the customer wishes to give a girl a tip afterwards for whatever reason it is up to him, but he is not obligated to do so unless he agreed to it as part of the negotiation.
Just for the record: I tip. I tip girls that give me good service. I am very generous, probably more generous than most. I do not tip girls that give bad service, bad attitude, or want to leave before the time they agreed to leave. If you feel you must tip no matter what, fine. That is up to you.

I agree with this. That's why I always like to buy drinks for my girls and show them a good time before boom boom. I am even more generous to girls that I repeat with. I have always thought that it is very important to treat my girls nice. I have found that the return on my kindness is 10 fold. I believe this is why I have so few bad encounters where ever I go. Now, most places don't call it barfines. The mamasans are called head waitresses. In Atlantis, you give the entire barfine directly to the girl before she leaves, where no bar employee ever receives the money from the customer.

Although the word 'tip' is quaintly used in AC I can assure any newbie visitors it is expected that you pay the girl something at the conclusion of her stay.
Angeles tends to have a higher percentage of 'fresh of the farm' new girls who, through embarrassment or inexperience may not argue, or indeed even ask for a payment at the end of her stay, I can assure newbies it is expected. Not giving the girl a dime after spending all night with you is the worst kind of insult.
Most of these women are single mothers. They have to PAY a baby sitter for the 12 hours of her shift (eg. 7 pm - 7 am) hence not paying her a dime is costing her money, not making money. Next time one of these girls say's they have to go, don't take it as her running, she has to get back to her kid & pay the baby sitter.
I have way to many regulars in the bars of AC. I can tell you for sure that generally their percentage of the BF is nowhere near the 50% alleged here by others.
The sex here is very cheap already by your home country's standards. You will find filipino's are generous by nature, if you're good to them they will be good to you.

Before I go to a new place I use ISG to tell me where the pussy is. I read the many reports and dissect them learning how different people are doing different things. When I arrive on location I get a feel and I am able to make my own way of doing things. If it is fine for me and fine for the others involved then nobody else should have anything to say about it. If you want to tip 1000 piso and that works for you then so be it. If you don't want to tip and that works for you and the girl then so be it. If the girl wants to fuck you for free then so be it. I have never had a BG runner in AC. I always explain to the girl upfront how much the tip is per boomX2. Some girls are not good at multiplication but sure can add fast! I have had some great LT nights and been completely drained. According to what has been posted here then I tip generously but if you figure "price per lb / kilo" I am getting great value. The bf and tips does not affect whether I eat or not. But I am sure it has a tremendous effect on their lives. I budget accordingly for a great time. Most AC girls are here because of survival. They lack skills and / or job opportunities.
What I "generously" tip does not throw the market into an undue tizzy! Which I couldn't care if it did. A tizzy to some would be an increase of P50-100. My way is to not only tip but show respect to the girls. It has worked for me.

In Angeles, the mamasan / head waitress will not say anything about a mandatory tip. Nothing will happen to you if you don't tip.
But I am assuming (assume because I almost always tip) the girl will frown or mumble something under her breathe as she leaves. The problem is that if (maybe) 50% of the girls get a tip, then she expects / wants a tip.
If the old days (2003) , when I gave a tip, the girls seemed surprised. They also seemed surprised when I told them to go early. Sorry, I'm one of the guys that ruined Angeles.
Speaking with several girls (YES I know, girl's BOLA; how do you know when a bargirl lies - she moves her lips, etc), it seems the biggest tip many of them get is 500 pesos. They probably will be happy with 200 or 300 pesos.
Girls don't earn that much. Girls get a salary of around 200 pesos, plus drinks / commissions. Probably several hundred pesos a day. They get a little less than 50% of the barfine. With a barfine of 2400 pesos, she got I think around 1100 pesos.
Since we're on this subject.
The waitresses make even less than the dancers. They get a lower salary. They normally are not barfined often, because many of the are older chubby moms.
At the bars, the waitresses either gets a station area, or they get a customer. They might get (at the most?) couple of hundred pesos per night in tips (depending on which bar they work at). They definitely rely on the tips to supplement their income.
Not everyone tips.
Once when I left 5 pesos, she frowned. They seem to be happy with 15 pesos. They are definitely happy with 20 pesos tip.
I don't believe the Philippines have a tipping culture for normal establishments. I believe it might be different at the high end places, but not sure. But the Angeles scene is turning into a tipping culture. Blame the Americans. I even see Europeans and Asians that normally don't tip in their home countries tip in the Philippines and Thailand.

I am sonewhat amused but also concerned about the tipping FRs. If you spend thousands to get to AC (wells ay $800-1500) and then quibble / boast over $10 you are a CC IMHO. Why are we proud to boast about not spending an extra $10 on helping a girl for whom that extra means a lot to her / her family than it does to you (unless you are a real CC).
As DG (and many others before him) have said, be respectful, tip, as it pays in the long run. If all you want is a quick cheap boom boom fine, YMMV etc, but don't boast or be proud about being a CC and not showing some respect / decency.

As a resident he should know that about AC, but maybe it was a typo or written when his beer goggles were on, LOL.
In Cebu the issue lately is usage of the term "bar fine", but the "donation" or "EWR" or what ever you want to call it is paid all at once before leaving the bars (unless it's changed in the last 2 months) and is all inclusive; tipping is optional. The only exception might be at some of the KTV's, but I don't frequent them.

Not so long ago on this Angeles City Forum we had a repeated message that there was no longer any bar fines, you just sort it out with the girl. And I know this applies in some other places as well. Whichever way it is, paying the bar, or paying the girl, there is a fee to the bar management for the early release of the girl from her bar duties. This we can call the bar fine either paid directly to the bar (mamasan) or indirectly via the girl.
Then there is the fee to the girl for her negotiated ST or LT services. In addition, in my book, you may give a tip as a bonus for appreciated services. I agree with Amjeck that "It's up to the monger if he wishes to tip on top of that" (the bar and fee for the girl); the tip being optional. I therefore disagree with GreenBud where he talks about tipping "the mandatory about". Tipping is an optional extra beyond the fees to the bar and the negotiated rate for time and services by the girl.

This topic is becoming oh so confusing It is unbelievable how something as simple as payment to a working girl for services rendered can be made so confusing by a few BM's. I will try to set the record straight. Everybody who is been to AC and Subic knows what I am saying is correct. I am merely trying to set the record straight for newbies who might be getting real confused right about now.
Burgos bars, EDSA bars, BKK Go Go's, Pattaya Go Go's employ a bifurcated payment plan: 1. Barfine paid to bar before leaving bar. 2. Service charge negotiated with the girl and paid to her after services rendered. LT or ST negotiated with girl before leaving bar.
AC bars and Subic bars employ an all-inclusive payment plan with default time being Long Term: the all-inclusive plan is all inclusive! It includes the barfine and the service charge for the girl. Before last year's raids, under the EWR, the local name for the all-inclusive payment plan unique to AC and Subic, payment was made to the bar before leaving with the girl and the girl was later reimbursed for her services by the bar. Since the raids, AC bars adopted various payment methods. In some bars the customer still pays the all-inclusive charge before leaving the bar. In other bars the customer pays the girl the all-inclusive charge after service is rendered and the girl reimburses the bar the next night. In Subic, Barrio Barretto, the customer still pays the all-inclusive charge before leaving the bar.
Now here is the fucking BOTTOM LINE: In all the bars mentioned above no matter whether they employ the bifurcated payment plan or have the all-inclusive plan, TIPS ARE OPTIONAL. If you want to tip the girl, tip her. If you don't want to tip the girl, don't tip her. I don't want to burst anyone's bubbles, but what I object to is putting out false information based on personal preferences and a subjective world view. If you feel obligated to tip, feel obligated, but stop telling the board we are all obligated to feel as you feel, to do as you do, and that the tip is a required part of the payment plan. That is not reality. BTW, before I get attacked, I tip most of the time if I like the girl and for good service, but I reserve the right not to tip. TIPPING IS OPTIONAL!

Most will go for this in a heart beat, and have your heart beating at a rapid pace for the whole night and morning as well. The nice big tip, amount never mentioned, leaves you an out if she sucks (not in a good way). Big can be 200 to 500 if she gives stellar services and makes her and her gf's back at the bar more apt to want to go with you at a later date. Negotiating a low price and not tipping can almost always guarantee you a night with a starfish and a scowl from her friends back at the bar on your next visit.
What if anything does 500 php, approximately $11 at todays exchange rate, mean to a punter who has a great night filled with slurping, sucking, licking, lapping, grunting and moaning with a tiny tight pussied little brown skinned beauty.

The first time I went to AC I assumed the payment system was like Manila so I gave 1 k tips. (yes, 1 k tips were common in Manila about 15 years ago). The gals in AC seemed quite happy. Okay, I'll bite. Please specify the bars in QC and Malate/Ermita. In Malate/Ermita there are the main 3; LAC/MBC, Amazonia, and GPoint. None of these bars has a barfine. For the record, which bars charge a barfine?

Though many are single moms, in many, if not most cases, the child is with granny or a sibling. If you suspect a girl may pull a runner to take care of her child there is an easy way to sort this out before: Ask her. In your conversation find out whether she has kids or not. Where are they? Does she have younger siblings she has to care for at home? Is there a baby sitter sitting in her house waiting for her to come home tonight?

Aside offering a tip it's tough to incentivise desired / superior performance when the girl already knows that her cut from the bar fine remains the same. It is sad that what once was standard now requires a surcharge - that's what this "tip" is.
A few weeks back I provided a brief history of AC bar fines. Bar fines were always LT. Then some girls began changing the SOP and the LT became a ST. Now I read some opine here that the bar fine is no guarantee of sex at all, it's merely for her time outside the bar. Perhaps the environment is evolving and it's becoming this way. I hope not. You ought to hope not too. Keep in mind that in the marketplace there is a meeting of the minds between the seller, i.e. the girl, and the buyer, i.e. you. For these disagreeable and disadvantageous evolutions to occur requires the buyer's acceptance. If a critical mass of buyers accept that a tip of p500 or p1000 is acceptable soon enough it will become the norm. And I guarantee you a p1000 tip won't be enough for some. I reckon in a few years time we'll be hearing about p2000+ tips.
To those of you who freely toss the Cheap Charlie insult keep in mind to others you may be the Cheap Charlie too. There's always someone who has more cash in his wallet than you.

this is really my opinion, and that's all.
this has been the ac practice since i started going in 2009, tipping is optional. some guys don't believe in it for one reason or the other but are these same guys obsessed w / saving money.
so obsessed that never once (after 20/30 trips to the pi) did they buy a bg a drink? that's quite a feat for your average cheap charlie, no that behavior is beyond being a cheap charlie.
this rare creature will go into a bar and nurse one coca cola for 3+ hours watching the show, taking up space, trying to arrange a sneak out, and finally leave only to do it again in the next bar.
is this a respectful way to operate?? to one guy here it is.the term cheap charlie comes from the working girls and it's meant to be a cute slight, a polite dig at the monger. it's a valid label and it's not something to be ashamed of, it's just another way to monger, but if you take it further you damage the scene. this is my opinion. sure the big spenders also damage the scene but in a different way, they don't create ill will except maybe w / their peer mongers.
the ac's of the world will always be filled w / 2 types of mongers, local expats who go through several women a month and tourist who go through 10 or 20 a year. of course the locals can't tip the same way a tourist is going to tip because they're going through hundreds a year. nothing will ever change w / these two groups, and both groups usually know how to make adjustments in the marketplace.
it's the cheap charlies that cause stress on the service (no lt) and stupid tourist that cause problems w / inflating cost. also inflating cost are the growing numbers of mongers and technology where the pinays can instantly find out how much their peers in other countries are making and they want the same money. there are a lot of moving parts that effect prices, it's not just 2 week millionaires. the pressure from le is also probably damaging the supply side of the equation causing prices to rise and quality to recede.
if i were a local i would be tipping less, but as a tourist i'm in town for 10 days and extremely thrilled to be there i don't care about $10 here and $5 there. people tip more and are much more generous when they are happy and on vacation. this juxtaposition will never change.
what started all this is how frugal can you be and still be respectful to the native population? for most here good service deserves a small token of appreciation in the form of money.
do we want to create good will or the opposite w the local population. believe me if your an extremely stingy person you will make people unhappy that you are in their country.

Please specify the bars in QC and Malate/Ermita. In Malate/Ermita there are the main 3; LAC/MBC, Amazonia, and GPoint. None of these bars has a barfine. For the record, which bars charge a barfine? SNIP

Plenty of go-go bars in Ermita then. I believe it was '92 or '93 when they were closed by Lim and some, such as the Firehouse, moved to Pasay. I don't know when LAC was opened but a FL bar was operating there in '97, then only on the second floor of the present location. On the ground floor was Rosie's Diner, and I don't know when that closed. The Thermae moved from the near (under?) the Miami Hotel to elsewhere in the mid 90's I recall.

I have never had a BG runner in AC. I always explain to the girl upfront how much the tip is per boomX2. Some girls are not good at multiplication but sure can add fast! The bf and tips does not affect whether I eat or not. But I am sure it has a tremendous effect on their lives. Most AC girls are here because of survival. They lack skills and / or job opportunities.

In Makati and EDSA, the mamasan will tell you that the barfine is X pesos, and you need to tip Y pesos to the girl in the hotel room. If you don't tip the mandatory amount, I am assuming you might get your ass kicked by some goons (or at least be yelled at by the girl).
If the old days (2003) , when I gave a tip, the girls seemed surprised. They also seemed surprised when I told them to go early. Sorry, I'm one of the guys that ruined Angeles.
That was probably my bad. Some years back I went to EDSA for the first time after many visits to AC. I asked how much was the tip in addition to the bar fine and was told "up to you". So I only gave her 500 p for LT. When I read the Manila threads later I realised the error, I told my resident wingman to make up for the shortfall if he ever bumped into her and I would square him later, he never did see her again. A much later visit, a girl left early after an agreed LT, I paid her less than half the "fixed tip", no one came to kick my ass.

The waitresses make even less than the dancers. They get a lower salary. They normally are not barfined often, because many of the are older chubby moms.
At the bars, the waitresses either gets a station area, or they get a customer. They might get (at the most?) couple of hundred pesos per night in tips (depending on which bar they work at). They definitely rely on the tips to supplement their income.

Once when I left 5 pesos, she frowned. They seem to be happy with 15 pesos. They are definitely happy with 20 pesos tip.I leave behind coins and 20 p notes since they are next to worthless to me. Occasionally, when a waitress has helped me, like "find me a girl with tongue stud. " and she does some work, goes all over the place asking, etc. I give her directly 100 p note, when I leave, separate from bar change.
I am sonewhat amused but also concerned about the tipping FRs. If you spend thousands to get to AC (wells ay $800-1500) and then quibble / boast over $10 you are a CC IMHO. Why are we proud to boast about not spending an extra $10 on helping a girl for whom that extra means a lot to her / her family than it does to you (unless you are a real CC).
What if anything does 500 php, approximately $11 at todays exchange rate, mean to a punter who has a great night filled with slurping, sucking, licking, lapping, grunting and moaning with a tiny tight pussied little brown skinned beauty.

This topic is becoming oh so confusing and not helped by generalised putdowns like this. Amavida you currently have some useful and interesting postings in the General and Other Areas forums but this one I find meaningless and unhelpful.
Not so long ago on this Angeles City Forum we had a repeated message that there was no longer any bar fines, you just sort it out with the girl. And I know this applies in some other places as well. Whichever way it is, paying the bar, or paying the girl, there is a fee to the bar management for the early release of the girl from her bar duties. This we can call the bar fine either paid directly to the bar (mamasan) or indirectly via the girl.
Then there is the fee to the girl for her negotiated ST or LT services. In addition, in my book, you may give a tip as a bonus for appreciated services. I agree with Amjeck that "It's up to the monger if he wishes to tip on top of that" (the bar and fee for the girl); the tip being optional. I therefore disagree with GreenBud where he talks about tipping "the mandatory about". Tipping is an optional extra beyond the fees to the bar and the negotiated rate for time and services by the girl.

i am not displaying any anger or fear. i tell the mother in joanna's presence that i only wish that joanna was 21 because i like her and otherwise would be interested in marrying her. i ask what they want and they tell me that they want money. i told them that i am poor and that i live on an annuity that i cannot access. i tell them that i can give them 45,000 pesos and that is all. they leave. one of the original guys comes back and explains in an angry tone that 45,000 pesos won't even cover half the cost of the lawyer. i explain that i have no more than that. they all take turns working on me and finally we one guy suggests 50,000 and the deal is struck. the mother won't press charges.

later i relate the situation to my landlady who is quasi lawyer. it just so happens that she is with her cousin who is some kind of an ex-police chief up on fields ave. they explain that the so-called mother is probably a mamasan who has several girls working for her and this was an elaborate shakedown. these guys could have been police or maybe not. i go to a police station and explain what happened but i am never contacted about it. i was with a fifteen year old girl so i am in a poor position to seek justice.

Pattaya and AC each have their strong points. Pattaya has a lot more to offer for daytime activities. There really isn't anything to do in AC other than go bars and have sex. While I do find Thai women much more attractive, pinay girls do offer a more GF experience. I also find it easier to communicate because they speak more English than Thai girls. If you've never been, try it and see for yourself which you like better.

Angeles will be slightly more dangerous than Pattaya (Both are safe if you're smart).
Girls in Angeles will speak more English.
Prices will be slightly more in Pattaya.
Pattaya has the better location since it has the beach and other attractions.
Accommodations are similar, but Pattaya will have more options and be slightly cheaper.
For me, the major differences are the strip joints and the shows (lesbian shows, banana shows etc). Pattaya has them; Angeles only has cultural shows with bikinis - no nudity.
But you can't beat the "change of scenery".

PI vs. Pattaya
Having been to Patts four years in a row, was thinking about a change of venue and PI came to mind. Right. I understand where you are coming from. I have been punting in Thailand a long time and I love Thai girls. For nearly two decades I didn't even think about traveling to the PI. Thailand and Cambodia had everything I needed / wanted: great girls, mouthwatering food, impressive culture, and beautiful beaches. I can tell you it is not cuisine or the culture, although PI beaches are very beautiful and I prefer them over more developed Thai beaches. No, I keep coming back on account of the girls. They are charming and very different than Buddha girls. Viva la difference! So give Filipinas a try. You have nothing to lose and I don't think you will be sorry you did. BTW, don't waste your time thinking about the non-important stuff like comparative cuisine, culture, or relative safety. The food is ok. You will not get sick. The culture is a non event. And nobody is going to fuck with you if you know how to handle yourself in a 3rd world country. Just stay on the grid and you will be fine. Think of a Makati, AC, and Subic trip as something similar to, but completely different than a BKK - Patt trip. Like a parallel Asian universe. And you will have a great time.

Both places have exactly what you want. SEX SEX SEX. If its more than pussy then don't need to leave home.
Both places have food, but much more variety in Patts. More good restaurants and street food. AC food tend to suck after awhile as locals eat alot of fried stuff and white rice. Only so many franchize burger places I could eat before I get sick of it.
Both places have hotels but definitely Patts have WAYYYYYY more hotel options than AC. The hotels / GH options in Patts seems endless compare to AC. Therefore more chances of finding room bargains in Patts.
More things to do in Patts because of Location, location, location. It sits on a beach. Hence the most famous road in Patts is called Beach Road. Even Walking St is an extention of the Beach Rd.
AC is land locked and only thing worth doing is waiting and watching for the famous volcano sitting next to AC to blow up.
No adult shows in AC but have them in Patts.
Safety--no comparison as Patts win hands down. Never an issue walking anywhere day or night down alleys or deserted streets in Patts, alone or otherwise. Only have to beware of the LBs in Patts as they are much worse than other countries. In AC, I would NEVER walk down a dark alley or even a major road alone outside of Fields when all the bars are closed. Armed robbery of mongers and even known bars are not unheard of. (at least 1-2 bars that I could remember were robbed at gun point within the last yr. Along with at least 2 murders of hotel guards).
But all the good things about Patts comes at a cost (you knew this was cumming right). Although everything else about Patts is somewhat cheaper, the price of SEX is not. And remember you are going there for just this thing right? I would say that on average, the Patts price of LT is at least twice that of AC. Also, many girls in Patts don't speak english and many who do are not very good at it. This makes for more overcharging by the girl simply because of language barrier. Happens all the time.
And yes, i do agree that AC is a shithole compare to Patts , especially during the rainy season.
All in all, fun could be had in either place. Just depends on if you feel like eating PI pussy or Thai pussy. But once you have your face in her muff--does it really matter.

I however still got caught in it and the reason I post it here is to remind even those vets with many years of Philippines experience That you can't let down your guard for even a minute and get nonchalant about your business.
You know those massage girls that stand at the entrance to Fields? I swear that young girl was out there with them in those pink uniforms. I was afraid to make eye contact though because I had another girl with me. But I find it odd that she'd be a bargirl one night and then a massage girl the next. So maybe something fishy was going on?

I'd like to say its good advice to spend no more than 20 minutes with her after departing the bar until reaching your hotel room; it simply eliminates these kinds of problems. Probably shouldn't take her to a sit-down restaurant (Kok's, Phillies) for dinner first, as she might eat slowly and want to go bar hopping or other time-waster thereafter. However, many gents live for the bar-hop and hanging around with the girl (some mistakenly think they are on a real date -- they have said it to me, out loud, the delusion is clear).

Dealing with pinays requires a firm handling. An average pinay can not take charge or are not used to decide so much outside their own perimeter. So when it comes to food, eating and location I decide where I want to eat. Even if it means they will sit staring at the food wonder what the fuck this is I don't care. Most girls don't want anyone to know they work in a bar. I can remember a few girls that freaked when they saw a familiar province girl in a club or restaurant. Except for OFW everybody knows it is not easy to make big money in Phi except to work in a bar, Karaoke etc.
Rule of thumb is never listen to their life story and why she does this line of work. Just enjoy, treat her well and off you go to the next girl.

Remember, most of these girls have boy friends who are security guards / trike drivers / drug addicts and they live off the girls earnings. Some have lesbian relationships with scheming butches. These people can cause a problem as they often live in squatter areas and out to scavenge what they can. Things are not nice behind the scenes. Of course, the hooker would not tell you about all this. But the AC locals will.
And the bar so called 'owner': this character could also be a 'manager' working illegally without a work permit and will be the last person to help you. They too are open to blackmail if they try and impose strongly on these low life people.
Remember what your agenda is and what the hooker's agenda is.
Think with your head.
Remember also that guns are commonly held by the criminals in Philippines.

So I Talked to mamasen about my 2nd day barfine return and I got it back and told her what happened. She told me she talk to the girl when she's sees her next and I left it at that. I never knew what happened about this after cause I nee returned to this bar again. This was Oct 2006. I been back to AC 5 more times since then and I still don; t go back in cause I got 100's of other places to Party in. Just wanted to remind people that scams can hit you quick without warning no matter how long you have been in country. So be careful out there. Just cause you have known a girl for a long time don; t mean she will not scam you eventually.

And just north of phuket in Phang-nga bay has many small atols. Lots of good diving in thailand.

It is true the Mayor ordered no more barfines and many raids did happen like in the reports. If you are not attracted to Filipinas why bother coming? I don't think there any others girls here like Russians or Africans, only Filipinas. There are reports saying AC has gone downhill and others saying it is still ok. It doesn't sound like you have read the reports bt your questions.
AC is a city of 315 000, add Dau, San Fernando and few other towns near by and you get close to 500 000. You can do anything from hot air ballooning, flying light aircraft and diving to hiking a volcano, shooting guns. 4wd driving, water fun in near by subic or the lake and so on. There are about 15 malls in AC but hey how many bother past the casino near the red light district? People love to hang shit and say there is nothing else to do but in reality we all get caught up in the pussy / drinking cycle that we never explore much else. How many of you have been to a philipino bar in AC? Do you even know they exist and yes girls dance naked. AC has plenty to do but we never bother, we like what we do and once our time is over and we are back home we wonder why we didn't do much else and we come up with stupid conclusions like there was nothing else to do. Then we hang shit on AC but we are back again and again. Welcome to Hotel California.
The 'Tombstone' comment is just great. What can I say I have been to AC around 30-40 times in the last 10 years. I have never been robbed. Never been threatened. Never been mugged. Once I saw a cop ask my taxi driver (NOT ME) for a bribe but hey they charge us 2-2500 peso for a trip that on meter is less then 1300. I once saw a fight between a middle aged women and a bar girl. The middle aged women accused the bar girl of ruining her marriage. On my last trip (story to follow) I saw a philipino guy throw a glass at a bar girl and thats it folks. Maybe I have been lucky. Few days ago in Bali I was nearly pick pocketed lucky I left my wallet at the hotel and the girl I was with started abusing the wanker. This happened on Legian St in Kuta just in front of ground zero. Two ausies ended up hospital with stab wounds after trying to break up a fight between locals that nearly killed one of their own kind inside a popular disco the next day. In Pattaya a Russian guy was slipped the mickey by bar girls that robbed him. It could have happened to any of us. In AC at least we know that girls are unlikely to drug us considering they can't afford it and they are all licensed anyway. We hear about people dieing but how often does it happen to one of us? It happens to bar owners and people involed in iligal activities, expats that live there and get involved too much with the locals and maybe cheat on their wifes or like to throw their weight and cash around? I don't remember a tourist and I am talking typical 21 day tourist ever to get killed. If you keep to yourself and remember why are you there then you will be fine. I rate AC much safer then many other simular or tourist palces around asia.
We hear about raids. Has anyone been through one? I know one guy but he was allowed to live right away. Those events are well targeted at bars / bar owners and the authorities know in advance who they are going after. They never bother the customers.
As for the odd ball extortion cases again we often here only one side of the story. Sure there are plenty of corrupt cops and bargirls but in general those events are VERY rare and most girls are SCARED of the police. A lot of the times the guy has brought it onto himself. People need to understand that you can't be an asshole in a foreign country and that $40 barfine is fuck all and from time to time be prepared to let it go. Treat them with respect and they will return the favour. Abuse them and sooner or latter you will run into one that will deal it back to you in spades.

Day 44 Friday April 11,2014 AC Night 1:
I flew Cebu Pacific from Macau to AC. The flight went smoothly. The plane landed at Clark on time at 11:45pm and I thought I had it made, but Clark Airport turned out to be a cluster fuck. Everything went wrong from the moment the plane landed and it took over an hour to get through customs and immigration; something that took less than 10 minutes on all my previous arrivals from Macau.

So it was around 1 am before I walked out of the airport terminal. Oh well. It felt good to smell that tropical 3rd world air and feel the humidity again. Macau had been rainy and cool. A friendly Lewis Grand driver was patiently waiting for me and HE drove me to the Lewis. Clark Field was real dark, but as I started to see the familiar sights on Perimeter Road, I was glad to be back in the PI. Everything was real quiet at the Lewis by the time I finally arrived there. This whole picture sounds wrong (in all due respect to CloverRover). When dealing with two women I am quite weary since they can work in tandem against me. At the end of the night I want to ween the girl away from the other so I can only do her (unless I know both women well).

One of the problems is that expats become too comfortable in a country and they let their guard down. The biggest problems I've had on my trips have always been due to me letting my guard down.

I was told HE knew one of the girls for a while and she brought a friend along. A lot of Expat that live here are on a budget. I met some who say they rarely pay bar fines anymore. Day 46 Sunday April 13,2014 AC Day 3:
Sadly this was my last night in AC. When I originally scheduled this trip I thought 3 nights in AC would be ok because I was also scheduling 5 nights in Subic. I did not take into account the cluster fuck at Clark airport and a wasted 1st night. Looking back I wished I had set aside at least a couple more nights here. 5 nights would have been better. I wondered if all the raids had suppressed punter numbers this year.
I walked into Club Asia. This is another one of the Doll House group of bars. The bar had been enlarged since I was last here. They now have three stages, but only two were in use by the girls. The first stage (the original stage) was long and ran from the front to the back of the bar. Then there was a perpendicular stage running into the new area of the bar. Upon entering Club Asia, I immediately noticed two things: First, the bar had only about 10 customers and it seemed kind of empty considering its size and seating capacity. Second, many of the girls were dancing, really dancing, and acting like they were having a good time. I sat down and ordered another SML while I checked out the girls. There must have been 15 or 20 dancers on stage of which I noted a few stunners.

There were maybe 6 girls dancing on the stage and a number of other girls hanging around elsewhere. A friendly waitress brought a bowl of popcorn and I realized I was hungry. I received some friendly looks from the stage, but I wasn't into starting it up all over again. I paid my tab and before I headed back towards the Lewis, I spotted a rolling BBQ chicken grill opposite the mini mart, and I bought dinner. I took my BBQ half chicken back to the Lewis and I had a great meal out on the balcony overlooking the pool. For desert I had some of the almond cookies I had brought from Macau. I washed it down with another coke light. Then I turned on the TV and fell asleep. And that was my comical AC barhop 2014.
A few friends have asked me how in the hell I could manage to hit all those bars and not find a girl for the night? I tell them it was easy. Getting laid was on the back burner that night and there are some nights when I need to take a break. On any other night I would have taken one of the smiling, suggestive Tao girls right off the bat and then gone bar hopping or I might have been more inclined to accept Angel's short time offer. Angel was very, very attractive and she knew how to dance too. She is another one that got away this trip. I will never know what happened to the two cute girls after Body Shop closed. They were a little tipsy and probably just took too long to come out. Oh well. It was a fun night anyway. Now as I relax on a sunny afternoon in Florida, I wish I could have had a rain check, but no such luck.

Well not quite 30 years ago, but the 1st time I was in the Philippines and AC was May 1989 so 25 years ago. No cell phones, totally nude dancing and no 2 or 3 tier pricing on bar fines one price for all girls in the bar, but yeah about the same type of protocol on the bar fine procedures. Pick and go. When she arrived deep at night, she let me take some pics at her house with her sisters and then she went to sleep with her husband and I was given a room for children to sleep. Kids were mooved by her mom from the bed to the floor and I was offered the kid's bed for my lonely sleep.
When I woke up next morning, Mary-Kriss arrived and declared: there's no rice, so we went to the barangay marcet and I bought a sack of rice for her family.
After breakfast in her house she desapeared again and her husband went to Manila center to his (accountant) work. And her mom promised me that Mary-Kriss is coming back ti AC in a few day so I can come to her work and to get her again.
Then I went back to AC and got her again.
It was fun.
There's pics of her house and relatieves. The only person who resisted to be taken for pictures and escaped my photo camera was her husband.
A heartwarming story. I suppose the cousin in AC did not alert you about what to expect, namely the husband, because she wanted your company--and payment of the fares--to visit home.

Most "I met the husband / boyfriend" stories involving low class Pinoys end in blood shed. The families & the guys are happy to take all the money she can send back home but the guys are usually extremely macho and prone to jealousy. Foreigner death statistics in Angeles are testament. I'd say he was extremely lucky not to end up bleeding or dead.

A few girls have INVITED me to their homes, but that is another matter entirely and I wasn't too keen on going anyway. Give sis the bus fare home if you are in a charitable mood and wait for the girls to come back to the bar. In the meantime party on in AC. I'd say the OP used up his ration of good luck for the rest of the decade. He better be more careful from here on out.
